<v Speaker 1>Welcome on and everybody to the Non Tender Podcast. I'm
<v Speaker 1>here with a incredibly pregnant, wonderful lady, Kimberly Tune you are.
<v Speaker 1>Thank you so much for joining us today. I don't
<v Speaker 1>know how much time we have with you in general,
<v Speaker 1>No today because because you said that, uh, you got
<v Speaker 1>like an hour of like comfortable sitting.
<v Speaker 2>Time up right for an hour? That's what I've got.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, right now?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah?
<v Speaker 1>And Ham, that's not Ham? Hell is that over there?
<v Speaker 1>Who's that stranger in the house? Max?
<v Speaker 3>It's me.
<v Speaker 4>I don't have a lower thirds, but you guys recognize me.
<v Speaker 4>We've gone for guys. Yeah, they might, I mean, honestly
<v Speaker 4>might recognize you. Because it's it's been a while. It's
<v Speaker 4>been a it's been a hot minute. Yeah, I think
<v Speaker 4>it's been since like October.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, it's just a week we found out we were pregnant.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's just been a while. It's been
<v Speaker 1>a minute. Max has been behind the scenes diligently making
<v Speaker 1>all of the tiktoks and helping put together show docs
<v Speaker 1>every week. So he's still part of the crew, but
<v Speaker 1>lives in Brooklyn and doesn't come down all the time
<v Speaker 1>like Ham does. So, but you're welcome. I live in
<v Speaker 1>Queen's Actually sorry, okay, sorry, it's on New York. You know, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>it's New York. It's New York. No, I know, it's
<v Speaker 1>very very different places. You know. It's like it's like
<v Speaker 1>it's like hitting the intro. That's that's just it is
<v Speaker 1>like that if I can remember. Hello, all right, So
<v Speaker 1>what what's been going on? What's happened? But what do
<v Speaker 1>you want to talk about?
<v Speaker 2>I know what you want to talk about? What do
<v Speaker 2>you mean things happened recently?
<v Speaker 1>What's happened? What's happened in the last twenty four Oh.
<v Speaker 2>You know, just the whole switch to situation.
<v Speaker 1>Pretty slow, but pretty slow. It's been a slow news day.
<v Speaker 1>I think. Actually talk about I don't know, for a
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo themed podcast, I have had some really exciting PlayStation
<v Speaker 1>stuff if you want to dive into that.
<v Speaker 3>Oh yeah, I'm sure that everybody in the comments really
<v Speaker 3>wants to talk about place.
<v Speaker 1>I think there was an Xbox showcase if you'd like
<v Speaker 1>to maybe what did they showcase? Oh? You know, gain
<v Speaker 1>a new controller skin empty box. Now all right, So
<v Speaker 1>the switch to direct was yesterday. It was an hour long.
<v Speaker 1>Now I doubt that there's many people watching this podcast
<v Speaker 1>right now. By the way, if everything looks and sounds good,
<v Speaker 1>let us know, because we set this up without Ham,
<v Speaker 1>which means it should wow. No, no, not okay, wow?
<v Speaker 1>What was that cut? You just did? Nothing? Did something changed? No? Oh,
<v Speaker 1>I think I never mind what Ham just like through
<v Speaker 1>the echoes of time, the chord for the monitor must
<v Speaker 1>have come out and went back in and or like
<v Speaker 1>glitched for a second.
<v Speaker 4>I the only thing I did I wanted to see chat.
<v Speaker 4>So because you asked if we were good, so I
<v Speaker 4>clearly right blinked. Yeah, probably, But I don't think I
<v Speaker 4>blinked for.
<v Speaker 1>That because I have full access to like what you're doing.
<v Speaker 1>I think Kim's a little choiet, but other than that
<v Speaker 1>because she's got the regular mic and she whispers. Actually,
<v Speaker 1>but you know we're doing she's she's low in real life.
<v Speaker 1>She's quiet in real life. So yeah, I don't know
<v Speaker 1>what the vent diagram is of people that only listen
<v Speaker 1>to the podcast that don't you know, follow me, and
<v Speaker 1>I haven't watched my stream from yesterday or my my
<v Speaker 1>video follow up reactions. I'm working under the knowledge that
<v Speaker 1>you've seen all of that. But at the same time.
<v Speaker 1>Let me give you a rundown. So Switch to Event
<v Speaker 1>went live nine am yesterday, live stream my reaction to it.
<v Speaker 1>If you didn't see it. I thought it was awesome,
<v Speaker 1>Like it was really incredible. It was everything I wanted
<v Speaker 1>it to be. I made a bingo sheet leading up
<v Speaker 1>to it, and not only did we hit bingo, but
<v Speaker 1>there wasn't many squares left unchecked. Like really it was
<v Speaker 1>really exactly what I thought, but also so much more,
<v Speaker 1>like it hit a point in the direct where it
<v Speaker 1>just kept going and like other stuff was happening, like.
<v Speaker 2>It's a lot of people say they got things they
<v Speaker 2>weren't even expected.
<v Speaker 1>There was there was insane Kim. There was you know
<v Speaker 1>elden Ring, the people that make the people that make
<v Speaker 1>that game, they're from Soft. You know from Soft. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>you know they make that you know, you know like
<v Speaker 1>Dark Souls. Have you heard your eyes open? For the Left?
<v Speaker 1>Not only is not only is elden Ring launching on
<v Speaker 1>Switch like at launch, which I already thought would be
<v Speaker 1>really cool, from Soft is making a brand new game
<v Speaker 1>that's exclusive. So the like moments like that, I was like,
<v Speaker 1>what is happening? So question about that?
<v Speaker 4>Do you know it said, it's like Dusk blood dust
<v Speaker 4>blood just so is it Bloodborne related to that?
<v Speaker 1>It's like souls flick and ash chat. But my understanding
<v Speaker 1>here is that Bloodborne is like a PlayStation IP because
<v Speaker 1>it was made for Sony's kind of like an exclusive.
<v Speaker 1>So it's like, no.
<v Speaker 2>But it's like you can copy my homework, but just change.
<v Speaker 1>It a little bit. It's like, this isn't a sequel.
<v Speaker 1>But also it's got blood in the name. Yeah, kind
<v Speaker 1>of kind of. But it also there's some elements to
<v Speaker 1>it that look kind of like off the wall to
<v Speaker 1>but yeah, it's got it's a similar fibing game cool,
<v Speaker 1>which actually kind of makes sense in a weird way
<v Speaker 1>because like it's a PlayStation four game, graphically, it's going
<v Speaker 1>to look probably pretty in line with it on this
<v Speaker 1>new console, so it's going to feel like a spiritual successor.
<v Speaker 1>I think either way. Kim is glowing. I know, she
<v Speaker 1>is gorgeous, She is flowing, she is beautiful flash bro
<v Speaker 1>and and she is just gonna make it through tomorrow.
<v Speaker 1>I just at least tomorrow's.
<v Speaker 2>The matter at this point, pulled the baby in until Saturday.
<v Speaker 3>That's just Clench's everything that we're working towards right now.
<v Speaker 1>Just don't have it to Saturday. Golden perfect, great time.
<v Speaker 1>You're in a very positive mood for someone who is
<v Speaker 1>that pregnant. She's doing great. She's doing great.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, silly, I'm fine. It's just physically I'm done.
<v Speaker 1>At come come night. She's usually pretty pretty pretty grumbled.
<v Speaker 1>Well yeh, because I've eaten by then, and then the
<v Speaker 1>baby is like really active and you're just trying to
<v Speaker 1>relax and your back huts from the day.
<v Speaker 2>It can't lay down.
<v Speaker 3>Once you eat your screwed difficult, is a mess.
<v Speaker 1>But once you get moving in the day, yeah, wake up.
<v Speaker 3>Everything resets and I'm like this is great for like
<v Speaker 3>five hours and I'm like, gon to go to bed now.
<v Speaker 1>I'm really proud of you. It's crazy how how well
<v Speaker 1>you've managed this considering still considering everything, but the moment
<v Speaker 1>we found out and the meltdown we were having, this
<v Speaker 1>is pretty good, done, pretty good.
<v Speaker 3>I think the meltdown was pretty mild considering bait bait.
<v Speaker 1>It was mild considering baby release date. And it's gonna
<v Speaker 1>be pretty much like right in between the wait for
<v Speaker 1>switch to from here. So the switch to two is
<v Speaker 1>June fifth, and our do date is May one, but
<v Speaker 1>and I know we're still technically a month from that,
<v Speaker 1>but we said this before. Every time we talk to
<v Speaker 1>a doctor, they say she's further along. And you know, babies,
<v Speaker 1>they can come show up whenever.
<v Speaker 2>So you know, as long as he doesn't show up tomorrow,
<v Speaker 2>we're good.
<v Speaker 1>All right, let's get back on track baby. Uh So, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>we had the they had the event. It was great,
<v Speaker 1>It was really fantastic, and we can talk about that more.
<v Speaker 1>There's elements in it that I would love to flesh out,
<v Speaker 1>and I'd love to know what Kim and Match think
<v Speaker 1>of the direct. But it was very shortly after that
<v Speaker 1>people started to turn some complaining, Yeah it was. It's
<v Speaker 1>it's honestly mostly negative online. It is. I mean, I mean,
<v Speaker 1>it's the title of this episode. Has the switch to
<v Speaker 1>His Price destroyed the hype? And I think for a
<v Speaker 1>lot of people it has. In fact, i'd be curious
<v Speaker 1>to know in chat, yes and chat if it has
<v Speaker 1>affected the hype for you.
<v Speaker 3>I would stand to argue that it would be bad
<v Speaker 3>regardless because of you know, the crisis of everything right now.
<v Speaker 2>It's kind of hard to justify a new system when.
<v Speaker 1>It was well, it was more the and we could
<v Speaker 1>talk about it and we'll just dive straight in, but
<v Speaker 1>it was more the nickeling diming of the entire situation.
<v Speaker 1>So from what I can tell and the vibe online,
<v Speaker 1>and also like I made a video last night late
<v Speaker 1>about the prices of stuff, and I got a lot
<v Speaker 1>of feedback and they were all in line with what
<v Speaker 1>I was thinking, and it kind of showed me that
<v Speaker 1>people are actually okay with the system being four fifty.
<v Speaker 2>It makes sense because that's just what consoles cost.
<v Speaker 1>Well, yeah, people don't really have a problem with that.
<v Speaker 1>Like obviously anything being cheaper ever is better, ye, But
<v Speaker 1>I think people understand that the console is pushing one
<v Speaker 1>hundred and twenty frames, it's providing four K, it's got
<v Speaker 1>a beautiful screen, it's a really nice piece of hardware,
<v Speaker 1>and if you compare it so like the Steam Deck
<v Speaker 1>or other consoles on the market, it's in line for price. Like,
<v Speaker 1>I don't think anyone's really complaining there. Where it's getting
<v Speaker 1>really wacky is like video games like Mario Cut eight
<v Speaker 1>Deluxe is eighty dollars.
<v Speaker 2>Well, we predicted there would be a price on the games.
<v Speaker 1>But not eighty dollars yeah, No, no one's seventy. Huh
<v Speaker 1>you said seventy. Well, okay, so games are seventy now,
<v Speaker 1>are they? So? PlayStation and Xbox games have made the
<v Speaker 1>jump to seventy the new like Triple four but eight, well, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>triple anything. All new games are seventy. The price of
<v Speaker 1>new games is seventy. Nintendo has been the holdout keeping
<v Speaker 1>things at sixty. Tears of the Kingdom is their only
<v Speaker 1>seventy dollars game, and they justified that by saying they've
<v Speaker 1>been working on it for five years. Okay, but what
<v Speaker 1>we've come to expect from Nintendo is sixty. No one's
<v Speaker 1>no one other than like like when You'bisoft releases a
<v Speaker 1>game and there's a seven dollars version and then like
<v Speaker 1>one hundred dollars deluxe version. No one's done eighty and
<v Speaker 1>Mario Nintendo out of nowhere are the people of all
<v Speaker 1>people that were like, this one's eighty. So that was
<v Speaker 1>kind of a red flag. And my point on that
<v Speaker 1>game is since it's the only one that's eighty right now,
<v Speaker 1>like Donkey Kong is seventy, So clearly Nintendo were going
<v Speaker 1>up to seventy like the rest of the industry. Since
<v Speaker 1>that's the only one that's eighty, let's at least like
<v Speaker 1>wait and see if they can justify it, Like maybe
<v Speaker 1>the Nintenda they're doing a Mario Cut Focus direct on
<v Speaker 1>the seventeenth, so maybe they'll tell us like that it
<v Speaker 1>comes with like an expansion pack, where like we're going
<v Speaker 1>to give you at the start of each quarter or
<v Speaker 1>the start of every year, we're going to give you
<v Speaker 1>an extra content and that that extra ten dollars is
<v Speaker 1>like a fee to subscript to cover that, yeah, something,
<v Speaker 1>you know. But if they just like not it's eighty
<v Speaker 1>and also there'll be DC and you got to pay
<v Speaker 1>for it.
<v Speaker 3>Oh yeah, if the DLC is included in the eighty
<v Speaker 3>dollars price.
<v Speaker 1>So that's that's just what I'm thinking. That's just my like, my, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>that's how you adjusted. I'm not intended pumping the brakes
<v Speaker 1>because you know, letting off the gas you get it
<v Speaker 1>jumping out of the cart. I made that one up.
<v Speaker 1>That's all me. Oh cart references. Yeah, that's just my
<v Speaker 1>caveat because like it's the only one that's eighty. So
<v Speaker 1>I just want to know. But even if they come
<v Speaker 1>out and they're like, I don't know if this one
<v Speaker 1>will fly. But if they're like, it's normal. But we've
<v Speaker 1>been working on this for ten years, so we made
<v Speaker 1>it eighty I don't even know if that flies.
<v Speaker 3>The fact that it's getting its own direct tells me
<v Speaker 3>there's more information that you don't have it.
<v Speaker 2>About the game.
<v Speaker 1>Well, yeah, they're going to break down the game. They
<v Speaker 1>do that for their big releases now.
<v Speaker 2>But they'll probably explain the price.
<v Speaker 1>Well I'm saying I hope they do. They might not,
<v Speaker 1>because here's the thing about this direct is that they
<v Speaker 1>didn't talk about prices of anything. Yeah, they didn't even
<v Speaker 1>reveal the price of the console in the direct, which
<v Speaker 1>is usually they usually they do.
<v Speaker 2>I thought that's where people got the price.
<v Speaker 1>That they got listed on the website. OK, So it
<v Speaker 1>was just it was bizarre that they didn't want to
<v Speaker 1>talk about prices. And then the only thing in the
<v Speaker 1>direct where they mentioned there would be a price for
<v Speaker 1>something that really was really bizarre is they have this
<v Speaker 1>pack in game. In fact, let me let me pull
<v Speaker 1>it up. You know what that game is called, because
<v Speaker 1>I want to show it for reference here pack in
<v Speaker 1>the Nintendo switch to.
<v Speaker 4>So while you do that, can I ask you a
<v Speaker 4>question a lot of people are saying it in the chat,
<v Speaker 4>so maybe we can just jump into it real fast.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe we can go back to it.
<v Speaker 4>But is you think these prices and maybe the reason
<v Speaker 4>it wasn't included in the direct itself is because of
<v Speaker 4>these tariff situations and they needed to like figure out
<v Speaker 4>how much these tariffs were going to cost like Japanese products.
<v Speaker 1>So I at first, I at first I was like,
<v Speaker 1>that has to be it. I've kind of turned on
<v Speaker 1>that decision and I don't think that it is, but
<v Speaker 1>I'm not sure. And I'll tell you why right now
<v Speaker 1>if you want. There's like no like little individual trailer
<v Speaker 1>for this welcome tour thing. Here cuts on my screen
<v Speaker 1>for me, you remind me to go back to tariffs.
<v Speaker 1>This is a twenty five minute long video for something
<v Speaker 1>that was thirty seconds in the direct. So I'm just
<v Speaker 1>going to show you this screen. It's a little mot
<v Speaker 1>three D model of the controller and you play a
<v Speaker 1>little character and you can walk up onto it and
<v Speaker 1>there's little like notes around and if you read one,
<v Speaker 1>it'll be like this works with magnets, and the joycon
<v Speaker 1>connects with the magnet to go into here and to
<v Speaker 1>hear and to hear, and while everyone was watching it
<v Speaker 1>teaching you, they're like, this is a little game. Everyone
<v Speaker 1>was like, oh, they bought back a packing game kind
<v Speaker 1>of boring, you know, not like we Sports was like
<v Speaker 1>really fun. But it's like a little free game to
<v Speaker 1>teach you about the thing, and then at the end
<v Speaker 1>it goes a paid app. No, yeah, yeah, that's what
<v Speaker 1>I mean, Kim. That's when I'm like a lot of
<v Speaker 1>these weird little money things killed a lot of high
<v Speaker 1>pype for the event, and it's like, oh, that's paid,
<v Speaker 1>that's paid. That's paid. If I want to play, if
<v Speaker 1>I want to buy this four hundred and fifty dollars
<v Speaker 1>system and then put my Breath of the Wild in
<v Speaker 1>and play in four K sixty frames, I've got to
<v Speaker 1>pay to enhance it.
<v Speaker 3>That's what I was saying to you that I know
<v Speaker 3>the main complaint that I saw, and I agree with that.
<v Speaker 2>I understand you can cut away.
<v Speaker 3>Like why they would have to upgrade it or whatever,
<v Speaker 3>but like, yeah, somebody said something about Kirby that there's
<v Speaker 3>going to be a new expansion DLC for that, and
<v Speaker 3>then you would have to pay to upscale the game
<v Speaker 3>you already have. And then also pay for the.
<v Speaker 1>DLC and it's like, yeah, so I want to talk
<v Speaker 1>about the tariffs. But while we're here, keep keep putting
<v Speaker 1>a pin in taris. Let me get back there. The
<v Speaker 1>enhanced change, I enhanced things. I broke down this way
<v Speaker 1>in my video and in my brain, there are a
<v Speaker 1>bunch of oh I should have had better notes pulled up.
<v Speaker 1>Let me pull up my let me pull up my
<v Speaker 1>own video. There are a bunch of free games that
<v Speaker 1>are getting enhanced. Actually I can google that. I think like.
<v Speaker 4>Games that Nintendo switched, games that you already own. You're
<v Speaker 4>saying by free update games, so if we own them
<v Speaker 4>on switch one you're talking about, those will get freere
<v Speaker 4>you go.
<v Speaker 1>You can pull this up on the screen.
<v Speaker 2>So these are getting free.
<v Speaker 1>So all of these get free enhancements. You don't have
<v Speaker 1>to pay. So Arms Towed, Mario Odyssey, Super Mario. But
<v Speaker 1>basically you own those games if you own them, Yes,
<v Speaker 1>I mean you can't get you can't play it enhanced
<v Speaker 1>if you don't own it.
<v Speaker 4>I mean you know what I'm saying. Yeah, it's still
<v Speaker 4>not they're still not packing in a game.
<v Speaker 1>Well no, but that's not That's what we're moving on
<v Speaker 1>from that Okay, yeah, so these all have free enhancements.
<v Speaker 1>Obviously I made a point in my video, but Scarlet
<v Speaker 1>and Violet would be insane if they release those all
<v Speaker 1>crappy and broken and then they're like twenty bucks, we'll
<v Speaker 1>fix it for you. So there are obviously free ones
<v Speaker 1>which are good. The ones that are charging you and
<v Speaker 1>you can cut away again are ones like Kirby, what's
<v Speaker 1>the other one? Mario Jamboree, and Mario Jamboree. They've added
<v Speaker 1>new minigames that use the mouse. They use the minigames
<v Speaker 1>with the camera, mini games that use They didn't really
<v Speaker 1>talk about this, but the Joycons have HD Rumble two.
<v Speaker 1>It's like a new HD Rumble. Apparently it's better and
<v Speaker 1>does more, and they have mini games that utilize that
<v Speaker 1>and a new mode. And then Kirby adds an extra
<v Speaker 1>mission and then Breadth of the White and so we'll
<v Speaker 1>get to that in a second. But like for those two,
<v Speaker 1>for example, you pay ten dollars more, you get extra
<v Speaker 1>it's like DLC. And it's also four K sixty.
<v Speaker 2>Now is that a separate charge?
<v Speaker 1>Now that's the thing I have now thinking about this.
<v Speaker 1>Can you get the four K sixty without paying and
<v Speaker 1>not get the DLC like the extra stuff, And I
<v Speaker 1>don't know the answer to that, and I don't think
<v Speaker 1>so I wonder like, do you guys get chat maybe
<v Speaker 1>look this up for me, do my research for me,
<v Speaker 1>because I'm thinking about this now that Kim's mentioning it.
<v Speaker 1>Let's say, Scarlet and Violet is free, no extra content,
<v Speaker 1>so you get for the four K sixty for free
<v Speaker 1>or whatever. Kirby, what if I don't want want the
<v Speaker 1>extra mission but I want to play it in four K,
<v Speaker 1>do I still have to buy the enhancement pack?
<v Speaker 3>Well?
<v Speaker 2>I was asking if it's two separate prices.
<v Speaker 1>That was the part where I was like, Okay, ten
<v Speaker 1>dollars for the whole thing.
<v Speaker 2>Well, that's better. I was sorried they were going to
<v Speaker 2>charge Oh that's what great? And then also, if you
<v Speaker 2>want the DLC, pay us more money.
<v Speaker 1>I thought people were complaining that I don't want the
<v Speaker 1>extra mission, but why is my not going to be
<v Speaker 1>in four K sixty unless I pay for that?
<v Speaker 2>So that's gonna be a lot of people.
<v Speaker 1>I think the whole thing is going to be a
<v Speaker 1>little confusing and a lot of testing things online.
<v Speaker 2>I really feel like it's.
<v Speaker 4>One thing I can confirm at least, I mean, not
<v Speaker 4>with proof right now, but I know I read it
<v Speaker 4>earlier today that a lot of these free games, sorry,
<v Speaker 4>a lot of these upgraded games like Kirby and Metroid.
<v Speaker 4>If you have a Nintendo Online it comes free, so
<v Speaker 4>kind of like crossing DLC the answer. So so if
<v Speaker 4>you already have Nintendo Online only for Zelda right now,
<v Speaker 4>I heard it was also Metroid and Kirby, so se okay,
<v Speaker 4>I could be wrong.
<v Speaker 1>That's what I mean by its very confusing. There is
<v Speaker 1>an image and I don't know what to google to
<v Speaker 1>find it. God, I should have had notes for this.
<v Speaker 1>So there's it on the website. It talks about the
<v Speaker 1>enhancement packs. There's a picture of Breath of the Wild,
<v Speaker 1>Tears of the Kingdom, Metroid, and Kirby, and then it
<v Speaker 1>says enhancement packs some will be included in the Nintendo
<v Speaker 1>Switch Online, like the titles Breath of the Wild and
<v Speaker 1>Teers of the Kingdom. So that's in writing. But then
<v Speaker 1>above it there's also a picture of Metroid and a
<v Speaker 1>picture of Kirby. So I don't know the wording only
<v Speaker 1>mentions Breath of the Wild, and I'm not sure and
<v Speaker 1>I don't know if it's confirmed, and people in chat
<v Speaker 1>might say yes, it is, but they might be working
<v Speaker 1>off the knowledge of those two pictures as well, and
<v Speaker 1>I don't think that's confirmation, but it does look like
<v Speaker 1>it to be fair. All we know for sure, though,
<v Speaker 1>in writing, is that you get the Breath of the
<v Speaker 1>Wild and Tiers of the Kingdom enhancements for free if
<v Speaker 1>you have the expansion pack in ten I Switch online service, which.
<v Speaker 2>I do right, which most people have.
<v Speaker 1>And someone in chat said, you're saying ten dollars, How
<v Speaker 1>do you know it's ten dollars to get the enhancement.
<v Speaker 1>I know that, or at least I'm assuming that. I sorry, guys,
<v Speaker 1>my laptop is so slow, but I'll see if I
<v Speaker 1>can find it. Nintendo Switch to game prices, because everybody's
<v Speaker 1>been sharing this image of the prices of the games,
<v Speaker 1>and in those images there's the Teas of the Kingdom
<v Speaker 1>and Breath of the Wild enhanced editions, and they're both
<v Speaker 1>ten dollars more than their Switch counterpart. So I'm just
<v Speaker 1>doing math. Ye, I could be wrong, like maybe paying
<v Speaker 1>to upgrade one you already have and not buying a
<v Speaker 1>whole thing outright is more, but My assumption is that
<v Speaker 1>would be ridiculous and that it has to be ten
<v Speaker 1>dollars if the price of the game brand new with
<v Speaker 1>the enhanced is here we go, so you can cut
<v Speaker 1>to this. You got it so as you can see,
<v Speaker 1>well as you probably can't see because it's so small.
<v Speaker 1>But Breath of the w enhanced here is seventy, and
<v Speaker 1>Tiers of the Kingdom Enhanced here is eighty.
<v Speaker 2>Is that the box?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that's another thing I know, ugly have you seen
<v Speaker 1>the cart the actual cartridges? Okay, let's I want to
<v Speaker 1>talk about that too. There's so much fun, there's so
<v Speaker 1>much to talk about. But let me get some cards too,
<v Speaker 1>at me too, me too. We're gonna talk about all
<v Speaker 1>of it because I haven't had a chance to break
<v Speaker 1>some of that down. You can cut away, let me
<v Speaker 1>do tariffs. So immediately my gut response was yes, because
<v Speaker 1>someone pointed out there is a Japanese version of the
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo switch to it's only in Japanese. Like it's like
<v Speaker 1>you can't switch it to English. No, it's regional locked.
<v Speaker 1>But also like the language in the Japanese and it's
<v Speaker 1>four hundred dollars once you equate for the yen transferral,
<v Speaker 1>so if you're in Japan, you can get a four
<v Speaker 1>hundred dollars Nintendo switch. Now, my initial gut feeling and
<v Speaker 1>a lot of analysts got feeling leading up to this,
<v Speaker 1>was the switch to was going to be four hundred.
<v Speaker 1>It's just the price that made sense, and four fifty
<v Speaker 1>was like, oh, that's a little more than we expected.
<v Speaker 1>And Japan has a four hundred, but we have a
<v Speaker 1>four to fifty and there's no way we can get
<v Speaker 1>the four hundred one because it's region locked. So clearly
<v Speaker 1>they don't want us getting the cheaper one. Why is
<v Speaker 1>that tariff's That was my initial gut reaction, But if
<v Speaker 1>you think just a little bit more, it breaks instantly
<v Speaker 1>when you remember that America isn't there on the other
<v Speaker 1>country in the world, and there's I know, it's a
<v Speaker 1>crazy thought. That's tough to do. That's tough too. There's
<v Speaker 1>also Canada, and there's Europe, and there's other Europe, there's Australia,
<v Speaker 1>and they all have this American four to fifty price.
<v Speaker 4>Also, somebody in the chat said something that blew what
<v Speaker 4>I said out of the water, and they said that
<v Speaker 4>you can't tear if an online downloadable.
<v Speaker 1>No, I don't think you can. Yeah, yeah, so. And
<v Speaker 1>also why I want to keep talking about tariffs quickly,
<v Speaker 1>even though that's pretty much the end of it. Is
<v Speaker 1>jariff a verb, by the way. The ninety dollar physical,
<v Speaker 1>by the way, is a myth. It's not real, the
<v Speaker 1>US ninety dollars physical, Mario Coot. That is misinformation that's
<v Speaker 1>being spread. There was some European ninety dollars euro physical version,
<v Speaker 1>and the conversion is whatever. But people just heard ninety
<v Speaker 1>and they were like, oh, the physical is ninety, and
<v Speaker 1>for some reason everybody ran with that. But there is
<v Speaker 1>no confirmed ninety physical. And if you go to best
<v Speaker 1>Buy and look up Mario kartt World Physical, that's eighty
<v Speaker 1>dollars on best Buy. As far as we know, that
<v Speaker 1>physical is not ten dollars more. It might be more.
<v Speaker 1>Wait in your country, I don't know, but for America
<v Speaker 1>at least, the only country that there is, the only
<v Speaker 1>one that matters. H No, I'm kidding. Of course, I
<v Speaker 1>am Australian. Don't forget that. That's I can make those jokes.
<v Speaker 1>I lived in Canada for two years too. My heart
<v Speaker 1>goes out to both places. You're American, dammit, I am
<v Speaker 1>American though it's eighty here, you know what I mean?
<v Speaker 1>All right, tariff's situation. I think the other point I
<v Speaker 1>was going to make is a lot of people have said,
<v Speaker 1>and sorry if I paraphrase this or get this wrong.
<v Speaker 1>So why is the Japanese one cheaper? And it's apparently
<v Speaker 1>to do with the Japanese yen just being so weak
<v Speaker 1>right now, and something happened with PlayStation five where Sony
<v Speaker 1>kind of screwed this is I read this on Twitter.
<v Speaker 1>I could be wrong, but Sony kind of left Japan
<v Speaker 1>behind when they released the PlayStation five and like it
<v Speaker 1>was like really expensive for Japan. So this apparently is
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo's way of kind of like helping Japanese consumers when
<v Speaker 1>the yen is so bad, actually being able to afford.
<v Speaker 1>So it's more about Japan than it is America. Now,
<v Speaker 1>that doesn't it. That doesn't mean that tariffs aren't going
<v Speaker 1>to hit this eventually. I'm a spoiler alert and this
<v Speaker 1>is all I'm going to say. Talking with Satisfy about
<v Speaker 1>something right now, and his product comes from China, and
<v Speaker 1>he has a price in mind for something, and it's
<v Speaker 1>I don't know if it might be more.
<v Speaker 2>So to because he's going to get charged for tacks and.
<v Speaker 1>All the tariffs. So some so, some people that you
<v Speaker 1>might even watch a podcast for are actively dealing with
<v Speaker 1>tariffs on a product. And yeah, this could this could
<v Speaker 1>still happen to Nintendo too, So the four fifty might
<v Speaker 1>end up becoming even more nice. We don't article. I
<v Speaker 1>really don't know tariffs. You saw one? No, I sent
<v Speaker 1>you one? Where'd you send it? On Discord? It's Kotaco.
<v Speaker 1>I also sent you some funny memes if you want to.
<v Speaker 1>I know you've sent so much in the Discord, but
<v Speaker 1>I just sent it like brand new, like I recent
<v Speaker 1>some funny memes. Yeah, I see the funny memes. Let
<v Speaker 1>me let me load this up. I like that. The
<v Speaker 1>thumbnail image of this article is the Switch and Trump
<v Speaker 1>just going like this, Uh yeah, all right, what is this?
<v Speaker 1>This is from Kotako. This is fresh on my desk.
<v Speaker 1>I haven't read this. Trump shocks with massive new tariffs
<v Speaker 1>that could make switch to cost more than six hundred dollars.
<v Speaker 1>Wait what that's what they're saying? Updated three hours ago.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, because they just added more terroriffs yesterday.
<v Speaker 1>It could be increased by as much as ninety dollars.
<v Speaker 1>Ummm uh. The Trump administration. We got a new ten
<v Speaker 1>percent across the board tariff for foreign imports, as well
<v Speaker 1>as the bevy of reciprocal tariffs aimed at individual countries,
<v Speaker 1>and the president claims are unfairly Yeah, you know, we
<v Speaker 1>only need to hear as shit, the prig tychonic of
<v Speaker 1>effects on April fifth. April fifth, Yeah, yeah, that's not
<v Speaker 1>even This isn't even Sorry, I didn't mean now you're
<v Speaker 1>it's important, it's important. This is all. This is honestly
<v Speaker 1>a whole nother level of hype destroying.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, because if it hit six hundred, this and this
<v Speaker 1>is this is the thing that's really upsetting. I don't
<v Speaker 1>know what's the worst part in this. Let's focusing on
<v Speaker 1>the Switch. Focusing on just the Switch. I have been
<v Speaker 1>championing this launch for so long. I've been so excited
<v Speaker 1>for it, and I truly believed it was going to
<v Speaker 1>be Nintendo's biggest launch like ever. I've been really saying
<v Speaker 1>that I think it's gonna be bigger than Switch, even
<v Speaker 1>after the direct and seeing people's reaction to the prices
<v Speaker 1>of of everything and people saying they're like not gonna
<v Speaker 1>pre order it, and they're gonna wait and they're gonna
<v Speaker 1>blah blah blah, which valid by the way. Yeah, I
<v Speaker 1>was like, oh no, it's happening. We you is happening.
<v Speaker 1>Like I'm like, I feel like I'm actively witnessing maybe
<v Speaker 1>not what I thought. And then if this comes in,
<v Speaker 1>it's dead in the water, Like yeah, that's that's that's
<v Speaker 1>that's rip to at least to beating the Switch one launch.
<v Speaker 1>That's game over. That is game over. Yeah, maybe like eventually,
<v Speaker 1>like in you know what, three and a half years,
<v Speaker 1>we might be able to reset this price a little
<v Speaker 1>bit and uh or even like eventually maybe then you
<v Speaker 1>can figure something out and we can we can get rolling.
<v Speaker 1>Like with the three DS, they like once it failed.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know if you know this, Kim, but the
<v Speaker 1>three DS was notoriously very expensive at launch and it
<v Speaker 1>it bombed.
<v Speaker 2>Well yeah, because it was.
<v Speaker 1>And then they and then after like a year, they
<v Speaker 1>cut the price in half, and then the three DS
<v Speaker 1>ended up becoming one of the best selling consoles in
<v Speaker 1>all time.
<v Speaker 4>Maybe they'll maybe they'll do the ambassador program. That'd be
<v Speaker 4>sick terf program.
<v Speaker 1>So when that happened, Kim, and they cut the price,
<v Speaker 1>if you bought a switch early, oh sorry, a three
<v Speaker 1>DS early before the price cut. You were able to
<v Speaker 1>for free go on the shop and download like ten
<v Speaker 1>games or something.
<v Speaker 4>Oh yeah, it wasn't your choice of games, but yes,
<v Speaker 4>they were like twelve or fifteen.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it was a lot. It just gave you a
<v Speaker 1>ton of I have an Ambassador three DS in this
<v Speaker 1>house somewhere. Yeah, I don't know where I bought it.
<v Speaker 1>I bought it creamed. No, they just come with a
<v Speaker 1>bunch of games. The three DS is actually so hackable now,
<v Speaker 1>so yeah, it doesn't really it doesn't really even matter.
<v Speaker 1>But back back in the day, I bought and at
<v Speaker 1>one post post apocalypse for for it and it just
<v Speaker 1>came with like fifteen games. I was like, this is
<v Speaker 1>sick a three yes, sixteen games. Yeah.
<v Speaker 4>I hate to also bring up the fact that I
<v Speaker 4>was a little bit disappointed by the lack of new games.
<v Speaker 4>I hate to say, no games, you're on your own.
<v Speaker 1>You aren't, You're on your I mean how many I
<v Speaker 1>love they they reveal in total? You know what, how
<v Speaker 1>many new games did they reveal?
<v Speaker 4>And totally so many? Yeah, two big ones, but like
<v Speaker 4>ones like not on any other console.
<v Speaker 3>They are when they tell you about new games regularly
<v Speaker 3>every couple of months.
<v Speaker 2>Ago, by the way, here's a few.
<v Speaker 3>Yea.
<v Speaker 1>So they just give you.
<v Speaker 4>I just thought for the new direct, you know, because
<v Speaker 4>it's a new console that they would show us like.
<v Speaker 1>You're out of control. You're literally I don't know what
<v Speaker 1>happened to you. The Switch one presentation, the Switch one
<v Speaker 1>presentation eight years ago was also one hour long. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>it had five games in it total. Yeah.
<v Speaker 4>And then but I'm talking about the Nintendo like you
<v Speaker 4>can only get for a Nintendo switch to how many
<v Speaker 4>games did we were announced?
<v Speaker 1>Remember, I'm sorry, you know what, let me come no, no, no, no,
<v Speaker 1>let me come out it a different way for you.
<v Speaker 1>So it's my first time on the podcast. I'm sorry, no, no, no, no,
<v Speaker 1>i'lle your opinion is the same as a lot of people.
<v Speaker 1>It's just I'm trying to figure out how to break
<v Speaker 1>this down. Okay, So for an opening direct, like when
<v Speaker 1>they're doing like an opening presentation direct, they really want
<v Speaker 1>to focus on launch because if you do too many
<v Speaker 1>like oh and in two years, we're going to have
<v Speaker 1>a new animal crossing and in you know, in this
<v Speaker 1>amount of time, we're doing a new f zero and
<v Speaker 1>like blah blah blah, A lot of people are going
<v Speaker 1>to be like, I'll get it in two years. Then
<v Speaker 1>you know, I'll wait then. Like it's really about driving
<v Speaker 1>focus on that launch window. It's like that first couple
<v Speaker 1>months and when you're releasing a console and a big
<v Speaker 1>game like Mario Kart, you kind of want to focus
<v Speaker 1>people in towards that, and you don't want to give
<v Speaker 1>them too much an overexpose it and overwhelm them. So
<v Speaker 1>you get like a bunch of third party stuff. You
<v Speaker 1>get a couple new ips kind of in launch, and
<v Speaker 1>then you get another one a couple months later, then
<v Speaker 1>you get one at holiday season. But you don't really
<v Speaker 1>want to overwhelm your consumers early on with too much
<v Speaker 1>choice or like just too much for further further on,
<v Speaker 1>because you're asking for a lot of money at that point.
<v Speaker 4>Okay, I mean, yeah, I could see where you're coming from.
<v Speaker 4>I still feel like, at least for me, there wasn't
<v Speaker 4>enough to like buy the console at launch.
<v Speaker 1>That's okay if you didn't see what you wanted. So
<v Speaker 1>to answer your question, I don't know that's this is
<v Speaker 1>a bad article. Do googling for you and so stuff
<v Speaker 1>and just yeah, this laptop is so slow. But off
<v Speaker 1>the top of my head, obviously, we got a brand
<v Speaker 1>new Dark Soul's style Bloodborne game, which is one of
<v Speaker 1>the most popular like series of games right now and
<v Speaker 1>no one saw that coming. Obviously, we have the Mario Kart,
<v Speaker 1>which we've got a big look at. We've got a
<v Speaker 1>brand new open world Donkey Kong. So that's three.
<v Speaker 4>Donkey Kong looks great, Sonkey Kong looks us three right
<v Speaker 4>off the rip.
<v Speaker 1>We got an announcement of a new Kirby air Riders,
<v Speaker 1>a new Kirby game, the first one in twenty years,
<v Speaker 1>and that's a Sakurai developed game. I know it's not
<v Speaker 1>technically anything new, but we did get a look and
<v Speaker 1>reveal and a revealed date for Silk Song, which is
<v Speaker 1>one of the biggest things that people have been waiting
<v Speaker 1>for for an extremely long time. Can you cut to
<v Speaker 1>my laptop just to show how slow it is? Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I'm sorry, No, you're fine. I'm not. I said that
<v Speaker 1>in a tone of frustration with the laptop, not you,
<v Speaker 1>because I'm trying to scroll and it's absolutely ridiculous. And
<v Speaker 1>I would argue that, like, while it's not a game,
<v Speaker 1>getting an announcement of four K sixty and one hundred
<v Speaker 1>and twenty frame capability is as as any single game reveal,
<v Speaker 1>because that means whatever games get revealed later, whatever you're
<v Speaker 1>playing on it now, you're going to have a four
<v Speaker 1>K sixty and one hundred and twenty frame experience. Like,
<v Speaker 1>to me, that's as exciting of an announcement as anything
<v Speaker 1>else personally my cart world and more, what's the end? More?
<v Speaker 1>Why is the article so long? Why can I not
<v Speaker 1>just have a list? Yeah? I was looking for the
<v Speaker 1>list as well. I'm going to keep looking. Breath of
<v Speaker 1>the Wild in four K Metroid four, I mean we
<v Speaker 1>did already know about that. I mean I think those
<v Speaker 1>were the biggest, biggest things there. And again, like if
<v Speaker 1>you go back to the Switch one presentation as a comparison,
<v Speaker 1>we had Mario Odyssey Zelder, which obviously we knew about already,
<v Speaker 1>Splittoon two, FIFA, and Octopath Traveler. Yeah, I was it,
<v Speaker 1>you know, in a one hour time span, and in
<v Speaker 1>this one we got Welcome to Him.
<v Speaker 2>It's almost like this version's one.
<v Speaker 1>To switch should have should should well? One to Switch
<v Speaker 1>was seventy dollars.
<v Speaker 2>I know, I remember getting it pre owned game stuff.
<v Speaker 5>I know.
<v Speaker 1>We went next, Yeah, we went and act. So that
<v Speaker 1>was one of the first things we did as a
<v Speaker 1>couple actually, because that was like eight years ago. It
<v Speaker 1>was we went and got one to switch. We took
<v Speaker 1>it back to your house. We played it with your pop,
<v Speaker 1>which is one of my favorite memories of playing with
<v Speaker 1>your pop. To be honest, you loved it. We played
<v Speaker 1>the sandwich game with him. I love that memory actually,
<v Speaker 1>But I knew as soon as we've done with that
<v Speaker 1>that we were done. We were done with that, and
<v Speaker 1>we took it right back. Let me ask you, Max,
<v Speaker 1>do you have a problem with people in wheelchairs? No?
<v Speaker 1>I don't actually, because one of the new ips that
<v Speaker 1>were revealed was this game where people are in wheelchairs.
<v Speaker 1>Why would you ask me that? Don't just ask me
<v Speaker 1>that that. I just I love people in wheelchairs. I
<v Speaker 1>was just checking because you said you want excited old Max.
<v Speaker 1>Can you cut to my screen? You got it? Can
<v Speaker 1>you look me in the eye after looking at my screen,
<v Speaker 1>give me two seconds. I'm going to send you this one.
<v Speaker 1>I already got it. I'm already I'm already on it.
<v Speaker 1>Oh I'm on another link. There you go. Yeah, look
<v Speaker 1>at the screen. I'm looking now, go full screen on you,
<v Speaker 1>full screen? I may full screen full screen. May I'm
<v Speaker 1>here that that doesn't do it for you? This this
<v Speaker 1>the oh the game case.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I mean, dude, I the only time I truly,
<v Speaker 4>truly gasped is at the Soul Caliber. When I saw
<v Speaker 4>Soul Caliber, I definitely lost my breath. That was very exciting.
<v Speaker 1>And then we got Final Fatasy seven, Elden Ring, and
<v Speaker 1>Cyberpunk coming at launch. I don't know what you're looking for.
<v Speaker 1>What what would you want? Yeah? I just want.
<v Speaker 4>I just want another like Nintendo focused Nintendo I.
<v Speaker 1>P Can you cut to the screen? Uh, they're giving Melder.
<v Speaker 1>We got a new Zelder as well. It's Hywardshiro Warriors.
<v Speaker 1>Exciting about Age of Calamity was awesome. I mean it
<v Speaker 1>was the first time we ever got an expansive look
<v Speaker 1>at like a cinematic Zelda universe. They told such an
<v Speaker 1>epic story involving love and a time travel. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>maybe I'm just not the right.
<v Speaker 2>It's not the one you want, it's not what I want.
<v Speaker 1>I want can you cut to the screen. After years
<v Speaker 1>of waiting, we got all four chapters of Delta Rune revealed. Oh, boy. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>that's actually that's actually a big one. Listen.
<v Speaker 4>No, Delta Rune is awesome. I'm very excited. But the
<v Speaker 4>thing I'm saying is that like that you can get
<v Speaker 4>on your Steam Deck, which a lot of people are
<v Speaker 4>comparing the price of this switch to the Steam Deck.
<v Speaker 4>So all I'm saying is I was just looking forward
<v Speaker 4>to just one or two more of.
<v Speaker 1>Like specific and everything other than Delta Rune is on
<v Speaker 1>Switch exclusive from what I just what I just read out. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>you read two things the GameCube and I've been reading
<v Speaker 1>for no, but I mean Mario. Okay, So we got
<v Speaker 1>Mario Kart, we got Delta Mario kartt Rune, Delta Rune,
<v Speaker 1>the Elden Ring game that you hate people in a wheelchair,
<v Speaker 1>we got the welcome to Is that, okay? Is that
<v Speaker 1>we've got a new mission in Kirby by the Way
<v Speaker 1>called by the way the Wheelchair. Of course you wouldn't remember.
<v Speaker 1>So it's we've got a brand new Kirby Air Riders.
<v Speaker 1>It's called murder Ball in real life. But what is
<v Speaker 1>it called? And what's I don't think you should murder
<v Speaker 1>them if you don't like them, just leave them, That's
<v Speaker 1>what We've got a brand new Mario car. See, I
<v Speaker 1>know what the sport is called. That's an open world.
<v Speaker 1>By the way, what is the Mario Mario the Wheelchair game.
<v Speaker 4>It's it's a wheelchair simulator. Song Silksong is exciting. Solklong
<v Speaker 4>is exciting.
<v Speaker 1>All right, hold on, cut back to you. Okay, what
<v Speaker 1>did you last time? I'm going to actually let you talk.
<v Speaker 1>I'm being silly. No, no, no, I love What What would
<v Speaker 1>you have wanted to have been there to make this good?
<v Speaker 4>I mean, I don't know if I could choose the game.
<v Speaker 4>I'm just saying, like, as far as like exclusive Nintendo IPS,
<v Speaker 4>I want to see chat, yell at me.
<v Speaker 1>Actually let me open up chat.
<v Speaker 4>Don't look as far as exclusive Nintendo IPS, I just
<v Speaker 4>was a little bit disappointed.
<v Speaker 1>That's just tell me what the one you wanted to
<v Speaker 1>be there though? Yeah, I mean I guess I wanted
<v Speaker 1>something like Animal Crossing. I wanted a brand new, like
<v Speaker 1>actual Zelda game, or I wanted a new Mario or
<v Speaker 1>maybe a new like Mario spinoff, maybe a new Mario Party.
<v Speaker 1>I just felt like there wasn't in it. Okay, can
<v Speaker 1>I can I hit you with a response for each one?
<v Speaker 4>Of those, Yes you can, but let me just say
<v Speaker 4>this one thing before because you're I don't think you're
<v Speaker 4>gonna be able to convince me because I don't. I
<v Speaker 4>just want I just want to hit you with each
<v Speaker 4>one of those. I don't make that much money. So
<v Speaker 4>I really was like, you know, I've been working on
<v Speaker 4>this podcast for you for a while, and I really
<v Speaker 4>want to be like up on Nintendo, and I want
<v Speaker 4>to get the new switch, but there just wasn't enough
<v Speaker 4>there for me to justify getting.
<v Speaker 1>I want to help, I want to help. Uh where
<v Speaker 1>right now? We're in April. So there was a new
<v Speaker 1>Mario party six months ago. Uh huh Okay, yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>probably a bit soon for one of those. Okay for
<v Speaker 1>a new Mario three D game, I will almost guarantee
<v Speaker 1>you will get one this year for holiday season. That's
<v Speaker 1>my vibe and a lot of people's vibe. But there
<v Speaker 1>was a new Mario cut so they can't really do
<v Speaker 1>Mario cut, and a new Mario kind of post focus
<v Speaker 1>for Mario fan. So here's the thing, uh, or I'm
<v Speaker 1>trying to derail you, but I got to. I got
<v Speaker 1>two more for you, Okay, do the two more? And
<v Speaker 1>then I got a question for it. So Animal Crossing
<v Speaker 1>is one that would have been sick and a lot
<v Speaker 1>of people want to see, but I think timing wise,
<v Speaker 1>they want to just put that out a year or two.
<v Speaker 1>I don't think it's like right, I don't think we're
<v Speaker 1>there yet, but it would have It would have been
<v Speaker 1>pretty hyped to even just see a splash screen. That
<v Speaker 1>one would have been sick and it's like a cozy
<v Speaker 1>game and casual and it's kind of different to everything else,
<v Speaker 1>So that one would have been cool.
<v Speaker 4>And as Kim knows, like they stopped working on the
<v Speaker 4>last one. Yeah, and so I would be like, it's
<v Speaker 4>an excuse if you get one right away.
<v Speaker 1>I think we'll see it in a year or two,
<v Speaker 1>but I will get I will give you that. It
<v Speaker 1>would have been cool to have seen that. And then
<v Speaker 1>what was there was one more? Uh? I don't remember
<v Speaker 1>Mario spinoff. I guess now you said you said one
<v Speaker 1>more Zelda. Oh, Zelda. We just had tastes of the Kingdom.
<v Speaker 1>So we're in like Zelda spinoff territory right now. We
<v Speaker 1>go main title spinoff, main title spinoff kind of thing.
<v Speaker 1>And we had we had Echoes like six months ago
<v Speaker 1>as well, Wisdom of Echoes where you play Zelda. That's true.
<v Speaker 1>So this is like we already were getting another Zelder,
<v Speaker 1>and you know that timeline for Zelda is usually like
<v Speaker 1>five years, so we still got like three years on
<v Speaker 1>that socker.
<v Speaker 4>Okay, so you're listing all these things of reasons why
<v Speaker 4>they won't come out with like the sequel yet, right, Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>So question for you. When I saw a Kirby air Ride,
<v Speaker 4>which looks cool, I'd never really got into the I
<v Speaker 4>never really played the game cub one like at all,
<v Speaker 4>so I don't I don't have that nostalgia for it,
<v Speaker 4>not saying that I wouldn't and not saying that it
<v Speaker 4>doesn't look cool. But my question is, you're talking about
<v Speaker 4>all these overlaps. Don't you think it's kind of crazy
<v Speaker 4>that for this new console they're releasing two racing games,
<v Speaker 4>don't you bad?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that pinged in my brain. I thought that was
<v Speaker 1>a bit weird. I think it was more they wanted
<v Speaker 1>to show what Sakarai is working, Like Sakarai had to
<v Speaker 1>be mentioned, and that's just what he's working on, is
<v Speaker 1>he's working on an air riders. They're like, he's still alive,
<v Speaker 1>He's still that he's this is his new game, because
<v Speaker 1>I feel like people would have been like, where Soakarrite
<v Speaker 1>or even like a were Smash Brothers. But as soon
<v Speaker 1>as you find out he's making air Riders, it's like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>he's making air Riders.
<v Speaker 4>I want to Can I just get instead of like
<v Speaker 4>what he's working on? Can I get a health check
<v Speaker 4>on soccer?
<v Speaker 1>Right? Every time I hear about him, it's like, is
<v Speaker 1>the most grindiest, busiest worker bee? I mean, does he
<v Speaker 1>know he doesn't have to do everything? He's passion director.
<v Speaker 1>He's just passionate. He loves it, he loves it, he
<v Speaker 1>loves it. It's just Smash. The last three smashes he's made,
<v Speaker 1>he's worked himself into an early grave and then gone,
<v Speaker 1>I'm done. I'm never doing it again. And then a
<v Speaker 1>year later it's like, here's Smash Ultimate.
<v Speaker 4>So that's another thing. You Why didn't we get like
<v Speaker 4>a Smash Ultimate upgrade bundle that would have been cool
<v Speaker 4>to see as well? A Smash what Smash Ultimate like
<v Speaker 4>upgrade bundle, enhancement bundle or whatever was it in the
<v Speaker 4>list of free I don't think so.
<v Speaker 1>No, No, I'm.
<v Speaker 4>Saying I would like to have seen that, like it's
<v Speaker 4>been enough time, and like all I care about is
<v Speaker 4>four K. All I care about is better internet with
<v Speaker 4>that game.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. No, I think we'll probably see a visual improvement
<v Speaker 1>with it. But that would be great. I wouldn't be
<v Speaker 1>He's got to be even though I know he's making
<v Speaker 1>air Riders, he's got to be fiddling around with a
<v Speaker 1>new Smash.
<v Speaker 4>Couldn't they get another company to like enhance that game
<v Speaker 4>or something. Maybe they're working on it.
<v Speaker 1>I don't think we need to. It's been we're in
<v Speaker 1>the time span. If it's been so long since Smash
<v Speaker 1>that we leave that one and you give it like
<v Speaker 1>a four K sixty or whatever, That's what I'm hoping
<v Speaker 1>for it. But like we just the next one, just
<v Speaker 1>start the next one whatever whatever That is. All right,
<v Speaker 1>let's focus back in here on the topic at hand,
<v Speaker 1>the price of everything. So we talked about the enhancement
<v Speaker 1>games briefly. You can if you need to leave at
<v Speaker 1>any point, I'm just feel free because I'm probably gonna
<v Speaker 1>rant for a long time. So if you only have
<v Speaker 1>ten more minutes, ten moments, you can go now if
<v Speaker 1>you need to, you could you could you have an
<v Speaker 1>excuse now to be when Wood talks too long. Now
<v Speaker 1>I have it. I have a sixth sense for Kim.
<v Speaker 1>Now whenever, like the second she starts feeling uncomfortable, I know,
<v Speaker 1>it's like an immediate and like she went like and
<v Speaker 1>I was like, you can be done, you can go.
<v Speaker 1>Here's a very empathetic guy. And that's why we love you.
<v Speaker 1>I'm going through a lot right now. Max's child, I'm
<v Speaker 1>with child. He's gonna he's gonna birth. The switch to
<v Speaker 1>that's what I'm having two babies this year. All right,
<v Speaker 1>you can leave whenever you need, just let me know, okay, okay.
<v Speaker 1>So we talked about the enhancements. We talked about the
<v Speaker 1>packing game that wasn't a packing game. Another thing that
<v Speaker 1>came came to my mind and came to my attention
<v Speaker 1>last night, Kim. So, you know how this controller has
<v Speaker 1>a sea button on it.
<v Speaker 3>M hm.
<v Speaker 1>So I don't know if you've seen, but the sea
<v Speaker 1>button means game chat or chat chat app. Yeah, like
<v Speaker 1>communicate chat ap, let me let me bring the trailer
<v Speaker 1>up because you this is this for me is one
<v Speaker 1>of the things that's the most baffling as far as
<v Speaker 1>like money wise. So we were all I'm trying to stole.
<v Speaker 1>This is loading.
<v Speaker 3>You were literally saying the other day that you hope
<v Speaker 3>that's not what it's for, because what if.
<v Speaker 4>You don't pay for the Yes, that's you know, you
<v Speaker 4>brought that up, and I think I sent you the
<v Speaker 4>tweet or maybe I screamed shouted it. But what you
<v Speaker 4>just said is she just said that, uh that I
<v Speaker 4>saw a tweet that said, oh great, there's a C
<v Speaker 4>button on my switch that doesn't work unless I have one.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, well that's the point. I was, literally, what do
<v Speaker 1>you mean, I hope it's not chat app?
<v Speaker 2>No, you said.
<v Speaker 3>We were in the car and you're like, I really
<v Speaker 3>hope that button is for what for chat? Because because
<v Speaker 3>if you don't pay for it, then you just got
<v Speaker 3>a useless button.
<v Speaker 1>I didn't. I didn't even I don't remember. I was
<v Speaker 1>ahead of the time. Yeah, yeah, I saw that. I
<v Speaker 1>don't remember that before. I don't remember, but I'm so smart,
<v Speaker 1>so I thought I realized last night that so this
<v Speaker 1>whole chat you can cut to me, this whole like
<v Speaker 1>thing that they've developed, which is like I I think
<v Speaker 1>the gimmick almost which is silly because like chat like
<v Speaker 1>is that it's been around since I remember sitting in
<v Speaker 1>the ventrillo with my friends after high school, like fifteen
<v Speaker 1>years ago. But this is the gimmick. This time is
<v Speaker 1>chat and you can have like a little camera and
<v Speaker 1>you can stream. You can also stream your games, Kim,
<v Speaker 1>I don't know if you've seen this. This is kind
<v Speaker 1>of cool. People kind of meming on the fact that
<v Speaker 1>the games are being streamed in like four megapixels, which.
<v Speaker 2>That looks like GameCube buddies.
<v Speaker 1>I guess, I guess it's a bit silly. It didn't
<v Speaker 1>really register to me, and I understand why people find
<v Speaker 1>it funny. I just love that. Yeah, I just love that.
<v Speaker 1>It's like realistic for me. Though. For me, the way
<v Speaker 1>I kind of saw it was like, I have my
<v Speaker 1>game running in four K sixty frames. Do I really
<v Speaker 1>need all of their little games being four K sixty frames?
<v Speaker 2>Like sense that they're not because I've bogged down your
<v Speaker 2>system so bad.
<v Speaker 1>I feel like that's it. I mean, it's it's a
<v Speaker 1>lot of bandwidth that you're pulling for like a little handheld.
<v Speaker 1>So when I saw, I was like, yeah, that's probably
<v Speaker 1>how that would look. So but I guess it is
<v Speaker 1>funny though people keep making memes of like really pixel
<v Speaker 1>crushed picture of like a SpongeBob episode and they're like
<v Speaker 1>watching your friends play on Switch. But anyway, this is it.
<v Speaker 1>You do the camera, you have a little thingy and
<v Speaker 1>until March of next year, this feature is free. But
<v Speaker 1>then you need to be a Nintendo Switch paying subscriber
<v Speaker 1>for the twenty dollars.
<v Speaker 2>A year at But most people have that anywhere, well.
<v Speaker 1>Most people do. But if you don't have it, that
<v Speaker 1>means that the little sea button on your controller won't
<v Speaker 1>do anything.
<v Speaker 4>If you're I'm sorry to say and be like Ham
<v Speaker 4>was earlier when we were in the groups. But I'm
<v Speaker 4>sorry to say, but like, if you're paying eighty dollars
<v Speaker 4>for a game, you can afford twenty dollars a year.
<v Speaker 1>I think that's a very fair price.
<v Speaker 3>Buying a five hundred dollars system, you know that you're
<v Speaker 3>going to have to buy the twenty dollars subscription.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, that's probably the cheapest in the market. Okay, so
<v Speaker 1>before we poor shame, No, it's just like what I'm saying,
<v Speaker 1>that's what Ham was doing in the group personally, Like
<v Speaker 1>I'm there with you. It's a few dollars a month
<v Speaker 1>where I find it weird and where I don't like
<v Speaker 1>it is I can never think of a time where
<v Speaker 1>there has been a physical button on a controller for
<v Speaker 1>a console that's paid a paid button. Somebody said it's
<v Speaker 1>c for credit card. Yeah, that was my video, that
<v Speaker 1>was and that was my job. I said that yesterday.
<v Speaker 1>I'm real good, I'm real funny. I stole it from you.
<v Speaker 1>Push the button so it opens chat app, It'll probably
<v Speaker 1>not open, probably opened the credit card info.
<v Speaker 3>I'm wondering, disappointed, Mario face. You could have this, but
<v Speaker 3>you didn't give us money.
<v Speaker 1>And not only is it like a physical button that
<v Speaker 1>now is a paid button, but it's also like if
<v Speaker 1>this is the gimmick this time of like the new Nintendo.
<v Speaker 1>You know, why am I paying for it?
<v Speaker 3>Why?
<v Speaker 2>Day and age? Are you paying for chat?
<v Speaker 1>Anyway? And that's another thing, like do you pay? I
<v Speaker 1>don't know? This is an actual question on Xbox and
<v Speaker 1>PlayStation do you have to pay to be able to
<v Speaker 1>get into a party and like talk to people in
<v Speaker 1>a party?
<v Speaker 2>Well, you pay for the online, don't you?
<v Speaker 1>But I don't think you need the online to get
<v Speaker 1>into a party. But I'm not one hundred percent short
<v Speaker 1>on that.
<v Speaker 3>Playing an online game don't you have to have an
<v Speaker 3>online subscription if.
<v Speaker 1>You're playing an online game? Yes, if you're getting into
<v Speaker 1>a chat, I don't think so.
<v Speaker 4>Well, we don't have chat on. We don't have chat on.
<v Speaker 4>Uh sorry, we don't have chat on switch right, so
<v Speaker 4>we don't know.
<v Speaker 1>No, I'm saying on PlayStation on xboxot, do you have
<v Speaker 1>to pay to get into a chat? And I think
<v Speaker 1>it's free? And Chat is saying no, you don't and
<v Speaker 1>that chat is free, you don't have to Yeah, okay.
<v Speaker 1>So another thing here as well as it being like
<v Speaker 1>the gimmick for me, is like we've gone through eight
<v Speaker 1>years of not having any way of communicating with our
<v Speaker 1>friends on our switches other than a crappy mobile app
<v Speaker 1>that literally no one used or wanted to use. They
<v Speaker 1>finally added it back in essentially as a as a
<v Speaker 1>twenty year too late gimmick, and they're charging for it. Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>The fact that there's going to be a non functional
<v Speaker 3>button feels old tech to me.
<v Speaker 1>I I almost feel like, okay, so game streaming and
<v Speaker 1>streaming your your video and your camera, maybe that's in
<v Speaker 1>the app, But to get into a voice cool and
<v Speaker 1>just like talk to people while you play games that
<v Speaker 1>that should be like the base.
<v Speaker 3>Free, especially if it comes if it's a button on
<v Speaker 3>your switch, if it comes with the hardware, then why
<v Speaker 3>am I paying you to use a button that I
<v Speaker 3>paid for.
<v Speaker 1>Someone pointed out too that even on like the other consoles,
<v Speaker 1>if it's a free game like Fortnite, you don't have
<v Speaker 1>to pay to play online, and I think that is
<v Speaker 1>true as well.
<v Speaker 2>I didn't know that. I thought you had to have
<v Speaker 2>the one get online.
<v Speaker 1>No, even like Marvel Rivals, I'm pretty sure you can
<v Speaker 1>play for free without a subscription because it's a free game.
<v Speaker 1>But on but on switch, if you were to play
<v Speaker 1>Marble Rivals, if it had it, you could play online
<v Speaker 1>for free and assuming it works the same way as
<v Speaker 1>everywhere else, but you wouldn't be able to talk to
<v Speaker 1>your friends in a call, yeah, because you'll have to pay.
<v Speaker 1>So I don't I don't think. Unless I'm wrong, maybe
<v Speaker 1>check can correct me, Maybe you can correct me unless
<v Speaker 1>I'm wrong. I don't think you can play like Fortnite
<v Speaker 1>for free on the PlayStation. That's only I think you can.
<v Speaker 1>I'm actually pretty sure that you can. Maybe they changed
<v Speaker 1>it after Xbox did it, but Xbox was well either way,
<v Speaker 1>it doesn't really matter either way. But if I'm wrong,
<v Speaker 1>I apologize still.
<v Speaker 2>The fact that you're getting a button, The point.
<v Speaker 1>I'm making is it's just like it's just chat. Like
<v Speaker 1>I don't know why they're charging for it, the streaming
<v Speaker 1>games pot and the camera pot. I can see charging
<v Speaker 1>for that purely because there's probably some level of like
<v Speaker 1>bandwidth or service space or something in play there that
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo are having to front for you. Can you, uh,
<v Speaker 1>you want to be done?
<v Speaker 2>I'm still having a discussion.
<v Speaker 1>I know, but you're like your twitching and itching and
<v Speaker 1>getting kicked.
<v Speaker 4>So before you go, can you please show him what
<v Speaker 4>I just sent in the discard.
<v Speaker 1>You're gonna like this game?
<v Speaker 3>I think.
<v Speaker 2>Is then ten Dogs? Please?
<v Speaker 1>No, I'm sorry, it's not that cool. Trust me. We
<v Speaker 1>would be talking about that.
<v Speaker 2>I know it's coming. Damn it. If there's a microphone,
<v Speaker 2>I'm getting it.
<v Speaker 1>This laptop is insufferable.
<v Speaker 4>That's gonna be a tough while he's doing I'll just can't.
<v Speaker 4>So there's there's a camera now that we you can
<v Speaker 4>use in the chat button and it'll like automatically cut
<v Speaker 4>out the background. You can have your gameplay in the background,
<v Speaker 4>and the horry made a camera.
<v Speaker 1>I'll show it to you here. That looks like the
<v Speaker 1>little Piranha plant. Oh yeah, I want to. I do
<v Speaker 1>want to show that. Actually, isn't that so cool? Someone said,
<v Speaker 1>is a four K TV required to play the switch
<v Speaker 1>to okn it work on my ten ADP, It'll work
<v Speaker 1>on your ten ADP. You can even you don't even
<v Speaker 1>have to worry about four K. Then you can do
<v Speaker 1>the ten adpe hundred and twenty frames for Metroid, although
<v Speaker 1>your TV probably can't do one hundred and twenty frames.
<v Speaker 1>Never mind, Discord's completely frozen. I can't do anything else
<v Speaker 1>for the rest of the episode. In fact, the laptop's
<v Speaker 1>completely frozen. Oh that's why I asked if you brought one,
<v Speaker 1>because this happened last time we used this. It's my fault, guys, No,
<v Speaker 1>it's not. It's not going at all. Okay, all right now,
<v Speaker 1>I don't have a laptop, so I don't know where
<v Speaker 1>to go from here. We had the sea button was
<v Speaker 1>charging you. The games are more expensive, and Mario is
<v Speaker 1>one of the most expensive games we've ever witnessed. The cartridges. Oh,
<v Speaker 1>I'd love to be able to show that.
<v Speaker 2>We can talk about it. We just don't.
<v Speaker 4>Is there a visual podcast, send you a Google link
<v Speaker 4>or something some other.
<v Speaker 1>Way I can Nothing will work. The laptop's dead now,
<v Speaker 1>it's it's been on too long. It's it's gone. It's
<v Speaker 1>the best I can do is pull it up on
<v Speaker 1>my phone and show the show the camera. At this point,
<v Speaker 1>it's so annoying. I mean, I could try. I could
<v Speaker 1>try resetting it. It's not like we're using it anyway.
<v Speaker 1>I guess that's true. I'll just do a hard reset
<v Speaker 1>while I'm talking. This is why we use two laptops,
<v Speaker 1>all right, Well this is resetting. Well what to find
<v Speaker 1>pictures of it later? If you're listening to the audio,
<v Speaker 1>you're probably like, I don't carry you the way, So
<v Speaker 1>I'm just gonna rip it, rip it and ship it one.
<v Speaker 1>There was a I actually want to make a video.
<v Speaker 1>I really want to make a video, and it's going
<v Speaker 1>to be like such gloating, and I almost I'm gonna
<v Speaker 1>do it anyway. Of all the things that I was
<v Speaker 1>like right about, because there's so many my guy.
<v Speaker 4>Like for you before you tweeted about it today, I
<v Speaker 4>was going to tell you got bingo.
<v Speaker 1>Thank you so much for saying that. That's so nice
<v Speaker 1>of you. To realize. Like four years ago on my
<v Speaker 1>main channel with r GT, we made a whole video
<v Speaker 1>talking about how the next switch will be four K
<v Speaker 1>sixty using using AI upscaling and even up till yesterday
<v Speaker 1>morning at eight am, people like Bob, who I love
<v Speaker 1>with all my heart, like Bob would literally laugh in
<v Speaker 1>my face. Bob, Bob was shocked by the four K
<v Speaker 1>I sent him. I want to show you. I sent
<v Speaker 1>him a video yesterday and after the direct and I
<v Speaker 1>was like, can we talk about how I was right
<v Speaker 1>about four K sixty?
<v Speaker 4>Oh, if you have the audio of that, but yeah,
<v Speaker 4>do you have you saying that?
<v Speaker 1>Hope I didn't swear or say anything. We probably now?
<v Speaker 1>Can we can we We don't even have to reply,
<v Speaker 1>you don't even have to reply, but can we acknowledge
<v Speaker 1>the fact then I was right about the four K sixty?
<v Speaker 1>Can we can we why.
<v Speaker 4>You're giving you're giving Matthew McConaughey vibes whisper talking.
<v Speaker 1>So I made a face while I was doing it,
<v Speaker 1>and Bob's screenshot it.
<v Speaker 3>I hope that's your contact focus, Yes, I hope that's
<v Speaker 3>your contact No.
<v Speaker 4>I uh, you know what when when the baby comes
<v Speaker 4>and you take a little break. I'm going to compile
<v Speaker 4>all the times that you were like, we're gonna have
<v Speaker 4>four K and everybody's.
<v Speaker 1>Like, no, we're not. So the video where I was
<v Speaker 1>like Birth of the Wild four K sixty was the
<v Speaker 1>thumbnail entitle. I haven't looked at it yet, but I
<v Speaker 1>bet you the comments so like Woods Woods High, it
<v Speaker 1>was a weird one. It was a weird one to
<v Speaker 1>have to try and champion for a long time. But
<v Speaker 1>there's also just been some other like weird ones where
<v Speaker 1>I've just managed to to call it. And this one
<v Speaker 1>came about just because I was making a video on Nintendo.
<v Speaker 1>Oh my laptop's back laptops on Nintendo switched to Launch games.
<v Speaker 1>I was like, they'd be great if we got these
<v Speaker 1>games on launch in that video. By the way, elden Ring, Cyberpunk,
<v Speaker 1>Final Fantasy seven, all three of those are announced. When
<v Speaker 1>I was making the video and making the thumbnail, I
<v Speaker 1>was like, ooh, I was gonna hold the games up.
<v Speaker 1>And I was like, oh, but the cases probably aren't
<v Speaker 1>going to look the same. What will the cases look like?
<v Speaker 1>So if we could just did.
<v Speaker 2>You make a guess of what the cases we're going
<v Speaker 2>to if.
<v Speaker 1>We could just I'm Screensharon. Oh you're pretty close right here,
<v Speaker 1>Oh pretty close.
<v Speaker 2>I like what you did better.
<v Speaker 1>Well, actually me too, because all right, so the actual
<v Speaker 1>cases have like a really big red bar. But my
<v Speaker 1>whole thing was like, you know, I bet everything goes
<v Speaker 1>read this time. I bet because they've got to like separate, right,
<v Speaker 1>So I bet they have red carts and like red trim.
<v Speaker 1>I figured the whole thing would go red. Show are
<v Speaker 1>the red carts and the little candy thing? Yeah, I
<v Speaker 1>can pull it up now, you cut away for me
<v Speaker 1>and I'll got it, nintender.
<v Speaker 3>I just think with a thick bar on the case,
<v Speaker 3>it looks like a Blockbuster rental and not in a
<v Speaker 3>fun way.
<v Speaker 2>I don't like it.
<v Speaker 3>I get why they had to do it just to
<v Speaker 3>ease the confusion, but like.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I'm going to reply to the thing. Can you
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo switched? What should I look up?
<v Speaker 2>Cartridge?
<v Speaker 3>Here? Here?
<v Speaker 1>I'm going to reply to the thing you on discord
<v Speaker 1>is it's just red?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah?
<v Speaker 1>Fine, Well I'm trying to find the key card thing
<v Speaker 1>because that shows it too. I would show the little
<v Speaker 1>the red cart and the little meme I sent. I'm
<v Speaker 1>gonna have to open to sorry, guys, pray for the Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I have to open Discord again. And every time I
<v Speaker 1>open Discord on this laptop after I turn it on
<v Speaker 1>the first time, it has to fifteen updates, exactly fifteen
<v Speaker 1>every time. It will install before we find this cart
<v Speaker 1>I probably I can't show you because Discord is opening.
<v Speaker 1>My life is a lie and everything sucks. Nintendo Switch
<v Speaker 1>to cut red. I make a promise now. I vow
<v Speaker 1>now that I will buy a new laptop before next week.
<v Speaker 1>This is the promise I am making to chat. Thank you,
<v Speaker 1>thank you. All Right, here we go. You can cut
<v Speaker 1>to me. You got it? Uh, this is the switch
<v Speaker 1>to cut now. I will say that I really did
<v Speaker 1>think it was going to have like a little notch
<v Speaker 1>or something like the three DS to prevent to differentiate.
<v Speaker 1>But also what it did was it prevented people taking
<v Speaker 1>the three DS game and putting it in their DS.
<v Speaker 1>And I guess you can just take a switch to
<v Speaker 1>game and put it in a switch, but it'll probably
<v Speaker 1>yell at you and just be like this is for
<v Speaker 1>switch too.
<v Speaker 2>That's kind of a bad idea.
<v Speaker 1>I think it looks a little bit thinner crazy. Maybe
<v Speaker 1>it's just the color.
<v Speaker 2>I think it's exactly.
<v Speaker 1>It's exactly the same. So I kinda I kind of
<v Speaker 1>wish for this label here they had done the label
<v Speaker 1>the switch logo like before and just put it too
<v Speaker 1>at the end, because now it's just like so much
<v Speaker 1>dead space now for real, what.
<v Speaker 4>If what if they just put like a it's not
<v Speaker 4>even worth like talking about. But yeah, I agree, it's
<v Speaker 4>it's it's taking up so much real estate for such
<v Speaker 4>a small logo.
<v Speaker 1>There was something else that we can talk about and
<v Speaker 1>spin off from here that has killed the hype for
<v Speaker 1>a lot of people that we don't really know how
<v Speaker 1>this is going to shape up yet, and it's not
<v Speaker 1>price related, but Nintendo switched to gain key cards. So
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo put out something on this. I'm on an IGN
<v Speaker 1>article right now, Yeah, I have. I can send you
<v Speaker 1>the link again. So news that Nintendo will utilize these
<v Speaker 1>game key cards for switch to has already taken a
<v Speaker 1>hold of physical gaming fans who prefer the simplicity of
<v Speaker 1>plug and play without the need for lengthy download periods
<v Speaker 1>and internet connection to get set up. The concern is
<v Speaker 1>that they are a little more fan little more than
<v Speaker 1>fancy keyholders that will soon replace all standard cartridges. There
<v Speaker 1>are a few reasons to believe this is actually the
<v Speaker 1>case for now. So essentially, what I've ascertained from this
<v Speaker 1>and what I'm assuming is for any of these big
<v Speaker 1>games like Cyberpunk or Elden Ring that have traditionally you
<v Speaker 1>can cut away traditionally very large file sizes, they won't
<v Speaker 1>be able to fit on cartridges. I think the largest
<v Speaker 1>Switch One cut was either thirty two or sixty four gigs.
<v Speaker 1>I can't remember. I think it was thirty two. But notoriously,
<v Speaker 1>the bigger the filesize, the more expensive the cartridge. So
<v Speaker 1>already on Switch one, what a lot of developers would
<v Speaker 1>do is they would buy the cheapest, like two gigabyte
<v Speaker 1>cart put a little bit of their game on there,
<v Speaker 1>and then when you put it in your switch, it
<v Speaker 1>would download the rest. This is just being way more
<v Speaker 1>upfront about the fact that, hey, this game cart is
<v Speaker 1>probably blank, and when you put it in your switch,
<v Speaker 1>it's going to download whatever game it is.
<v Speaker 3>I feel like that's kind of just like a common
<v Speaker 3>complaint about all video games at this point, because every
<v Speaker 3>console does that.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I heard that Cyberpunk will be on the card.
<v Speaker 4>That's wild, that is yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Huge card.
<v Speaker 1>It's like a sixty four gigabyte card and it fits
<v Speaker 1>on the whole thing. That's what I heard. I could
<v Speaker 1>be wrong.
<v Speaker 4>Everybody's everybody's saying that in chat. Oh wow, yeah, Cyberpunk
<v Speaker 4>will be on the card a lot like this is
<v Speaker 4>four people.
<v Speaker 1>Now surprising Nintendo switch to game prices. I want to
<v Speaker 1>try and rEFInd that because we saw the cartridges and
<v Speaker 1>we saw which ones had the little logo on it. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>so you can show this. Yeah, Cyberpunk confirmed to be
<v Speaker 1>fully on the game. Oh that's interesting and nice. All right,
<v Speaker 1>So here we have so here we have. You can
<v Speaker 1>see street Fighters six. Nice Sam, Okay, I'm not as
<v Speaker 1>good as he is. Street Fighters six is one of
<v Speaker 1>these download ones, and Weirdly so is Bravely You Fault
<v Speaker 1>Flying Fairy.
<v Speaker 2>Isn't that the old one?
<v Speaker 1>No, it's new. Yeah, and it's also a Launch Day game,
<v Speaker 1>which is cool. But those games are like Little Sprite
<v Speaker 1>kind of.
<v Speaker 2>They run the three DS.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. I mean, if Mario Kart looks like it's on
<v Speaker 1>the full thing and not a game key, why the
<v Speaker 1>hell it's Bravely Default. The only thing that I can
<v Speaker 1>assume is it must be hey cheaper to buy these
<v Speaker 1>game cuts, these key cuts.
<v Speaker 2>Well, look at how much cheaper the game is than
<v Speaker 2>the other games.
<v Speaker 1>It's true, it is cheaper. It is forty dollars. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>and this one is also sixty as the as the
<v Speaker 1>You know, that's actually a good point, Kim.
<v Speaker 3>It makes sense because then you can afford to put
<v Speaker 3>out these titles that are a little cheaper so that
<v Speaker 3>people will buy them.
<v Speaker 2>They're more likely to buy that.
<v Speaker 1>They're probably cutting cost and taking this deal where the
<v Speaker 1>games are going to be cheaper. They can sell the
<v Speaker 1>games for cheaper if they put them, so it's kind
<v Speaker 1>of for the developer for the publisher, it's a win win, yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Because they're going to sell way more copies than they
<v Speaker 2>would have.
<v Speaker 1>They can they can keep the price down and the
<v Speaker 1>trade off is they didn't have to pay for the
<v Speaker 1>so it's for them. Yeah, Yeah, they're gonna they're gonna
<v Speaker 1>sell They're gonna sell more with the price, or at
<v Speaker 1>least that's the mentality. I mean, I don't know how
<v Speaker 1>many people are gonna buy it if it's not on
<v Speaker 1>the cartridge, because for me.
<v Speaker 4>It's yeah, that's what I was gonna ask. You're the
<v Speaker 4>you're the collector. Look a look behind you, and.
<v Speaker 1>Well, I was about to say, for me, it's like
<v Speaker 1>I may as well get digital. It's so silly, And
<v Speaker 1>that's it's not like I can help the situation we're in.
<v Speaker 1>But at least I get something, Like at least I
<v Speaker 1>get a case and a car and I can put
<v Speaker 1>it on the shelf. Yeah, if it's the same price,
<v Speaker 1>you know what I mean, If it's the same price
<v Speaker 1>like this, I know it's just plastic. But to be
<v Speaker 1>to be honest, my mindset on physical has already completely changed,
<v Speaker 1>just because of the way the world is now. You know,
<v Speaker 1>Kim was mentioning it, but it's this is the way
<v Speaker 1>it's been for a while. Even on Switch one, people
<v Speaker 1>didn't realize that there were a lot of games that
<v Speaker 1>would download a lot of the game when you put
<v Speaker 1>the cartridge in, like and we don't really ever know
<v Speaker 1>how much is on the cartridge, Like sometimes it's like
<v Speaker 1>half the game. Like very rarely do I put in
<v Speaker 1>a Switch game and it doesn't immediately proxy you download,
<v Speaker 1>Like Nintendo Nintendo first party games, usually you can just
<v Speaker 1>put it in on launch day and it's good to go. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>But pretty much any other third party thing has something,
<v Speaker 1>whether it's a patch up date, a day one update date,
<v Speaker 1>or actual game that needs to download, and then these
<v Speaker 1>game key cards. It's not different to like Hogwarts Legacy
<v Speaker 1>or Call a Duty on PlayStation five. Those discs are
<v Speaker 1>essentially blank and then they download the whole game when
<v Speaker 1>you stick it in. Those are games that you cannot
<v Speaker 1>play without an initial massive download. They just won't work.
<v Speaker 1>And at least this is being upfront about it.
<v Speaker 3>And it's still kind of catering to the people somewhat,
<v Speaker 3>not much, but somewhat that want to collect the physical
<v Speaker 3>media because there's no benefit really to buying it when
<v Speaker 3>there's nothing on it, other than.
<v Speaker 2>To just have it on a shelf.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, collect them.
<v Speaker 3>And that's the same thing they did with the PlayStation games,
<v Speaker 3>like they tried to do.
<v Speaker 2>Who did the first? Was it Xbox that tried to
<v Speaker 2>do all digital and everybody.
<v Speaker 1>Was like Xbox One.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, So I think it's going to go there
<v Speaker 3>at some point, but people still really want a case.
<v Speaker 1>It's I mean, it is going to go there. It is,
<v Speaker 1>and it's sad. I mean, I always knew this was
<v Speaker 1>going to happen. I didn't think it would happen this generation,
<v Speaker 1>and I didn't think it would happen immediately on the switch.
<v Speaker 3>I was hoping the switch would be the last holdout,
<v Speaker 3>and I mean technically they are, but it's still.
<v Speaker 1>Kind of sad, like I didn't think this would be
<v Speaker 1>a day one thing. Like day one Nintendo dropped this article?
<v Speaker 1>Did you send it?
<v Speaker 3>Uh?
<v Speaker 1>What the article? The Nintendo post? No? What did you
<v Speaker 1>send me? Then?
<v Speaker 4>I sent you the just basically what we talked about.
<v Speaker 4>That's why I didn't interrupt you. Oh this is this picture.
<v Speaker 4>I mean it's just a little bit more that might
<v Speaker 4>be part of the article. Yeah, oh, we can show
<v Speaker 4>this now. I am oh sorry, not the whole not
<v Speaker 4>the whole discord.
<v Speaker 1>I'm so sorry. Come on, man, what are we doing?
<v Speaker 1>I blew it now, You're fine. I showed way worse earlier. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>this is the with mattress. But this is going back
<v Speaker 1>a little bit. But yeah, they did a Piranha plant
<v Speaker 1>camera for the switch to so I can I go
<v Speaker 1>to it? Yeah that's pretty awesome. That's pretty cute fun.
<v Speaker 4>And it's actually cheaper than the official camera. I wonder
<v Speaker 4>if the quality is going to suck. Wait, are you
<v Speaker 4>sure it's not just a case? Yes, it's not just
<v Speaker 4>a case, it's cheaper than the actual camera that Nintendo
<v Speaker 4>is selling. Really yes, by like twenty bucks. Wow, it's
<v Speaker 4>thirty that's what I've heard.
<v Speaker 1>Don't now that we don't have the laptop isn't so great.
<v Speaker 1>I can't pull everything up, but I'm almost positive it
<v Speaker 1>is cheaper. I don't know if it's there. Wow, that's crazy.
<v Speaker 1>For a fact, I don't know why anyone would not
<v Speaker 1>buy this then it's so much cuter the thing is.
<v Speaker 1>I bet it's worse quality, and how could it be?
<v Speaker 1>My guy?
<v Speaker 4>But also I wonder could it be anywise? I wonder
<v Speaker 4>if it'll do something like won't be able to like
<v Speaker 4>cut out the background or something like that.
<v Speaker 1>I think that was a that's inbuilt technology on the
<v Speaker 1>switches side.
<v Speaker 4>That makes sense what you're saying. I'm just saying there
<v Speaker 4>must be some sort of can just.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know why anybody would not buy this version.
<v Speaker 1>Then at that for sure you can cut away because
<v Speaker 1>I want to look at something else. But yeah, that
<v Speaker 1>thing's really cute, really cool, really fun question.
<v Speaker 4>While you're doing this, a lot of people are saying
<v Speaker 4>that why is Kirby eighty? So okay, let's do the
<v Speaker 4>math right now, so if we were to go to
<v Speaker 4>the store, go to game stop right now, Kirby is
<v Speaker 4>what fifty nine ninety nine or sixty Cobby sixty? Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>so it's sixty nine ninety nine. And then you're saying
<v Speaker 4>the enhancement pack is only ten dollars.
<v Speaker 1>Don't put that on me. Okay, well we are saying,
<v Speaker 1>as i'll, they'll put it on us. We're putting it
<v Speaker 1>on the channel. You heard it here.
<v Speaker 5>First.
<v Speaker 1>I was just guess and I'm thinking, now.
<v Speaker 4>Okay, if it's not ten dollars, so then it better
<v Speaker 4>be twenty dollars or why is Kirby eighty always?
<v Speaker 1>I can tell you why. Here we go. He's got
<v Speaker 1>the answer, folks. So this actually says it might be
<v Speaker 1>answering my question from earlier Kirby and the forgotten Len
<v Speaker 1>then tender switch to Edition plus star Crossed World.
<v Speaker 2>Oh so you get two games?
<v Speaker 1>No, so star Cross World is the extra mission. So
<v Speaker 1>this is so this is saying you're getting the switch
<v Speaker 1>to Edition and Star Cross World. So it's ten dollars
<v Speaker 1>for each. So is there going to be an addition
<v Speaker 1>without Star Cross World? Where it's yeah, you get it
<v Speaker 1>on the switch, just buy the switch version right, because
<v Speaker 1>switches without it.
<v Speaker 4>So no, this is what I'm saying. Oh you're saying
<v Speaker 4>without with only one deal?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, you can go. It's okay. You want to
<v Speaker 1>say goodbye bye? Thank you, Kim, thank you. All right,
<v Speaker 1>So this is what I'm now realizing. It is confusing.
<v Speaker 1>Let me sit in the middle here. Thank you so
<v Speaker 1>much to Kim for being the best in the world.
<v Speaker 1>Thank you, Kim, thank you in the chat. So this
<v Speaker 1>this can kind of what I was saying before, but
<v Speaker 1>doesn't give me an answer and if you can buy
<v Speaker 1>it separately, So Nintendo switch to addition must mean this
<v Speaker 1>is I wish this image wasn't cut off so I
<v Speaker 1>could see what Jamboree says. Yeah, well it's a TV
<v Speaker 1>add on. Okay, So Nintendo switch to addition must just
<v Speaker 1>mean this. We've revamped this, We've optimized this. This is
<v Speaker 1>like fully gonna have four k sixty maybe one hundred
<v Speaker 1>and twenty frames. We fully re retweaked and retalked it.
<v Speaker 1>No extra content, but it's a switch to edition. Ten
<v Speaker 1>more dollars if it's the switch to edition and it
<v Speaker 1>has extra content. In Kirby's case, it's the Star Cross
<v Speaker 1>Worlds in Jamboree case and I can't see the price,
<v Speaker 1>but I'm gonna go. Oh I can it's eighty. So yeah,
<v Speaker 1>it adds Jamboree TV I thought you had. I'm so sorry.
<v Speaker 1>I'm just worried about it now. I'm scared. You scared me?
<v Speaker 3>All right?
<v Speaker 1>Let me I'll go again. Sorry about that. That's my fault.
<v Speaker 1>That's my fault, guys, blame me. Sorry about that. Audio listeners.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, if it's Breath of the World, just switch
<v Speaker 1>to edition which has the improved visuals, no extra content.
<v Speaker 1>It's seventy. If it's got an add on, which here
<v Speaker 1>you can see an add on and an add on
<v Speaker 1>it says switch to edition plus d Cross Worlds. I'm sorry.
<v Speaker 1>I'm learning about this now. So those must be ten
<v Speaker 1>dollars each. My question still remains, can you buy the
<v Speaker 1>switch to edition of Kirby Forgotten Land for seventy and
<v Speaker 1>not get that DLC that I would be interested in?
<v Speaker 1>So now this changes things a little bit because now
<v Speaker 1>we do have like three eighty dollar games for the
<v Speaker 1>switch to at launch.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, and yeah, it's that's a lot. I mean, if
<v Speaker 4>you buy how many games you can re buy the
<v Speaker 4>whole console? You actually have a console eight.
<v Speaker 1>I know it's actually four eighty dollar games because of
<v Speaker 1>Tears of the Kingdom. Wow, we let me let me
<v Speaker 1>let me decongest that for a second. Let me think
<v Speaker 1>about that one for a hot minute. Here. Twenty bucks. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I'm not as okay with that as I was when
<v Speaker 1>it was ten.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I mean that's it's it's it's depressing. It's it's
<v Speaker 4>things are getting more expensive, and you know, we were
<v Speaker 4>talking about a little bit with him where things you know,
<v Speaker 4>we're not getting paid more, you know, and so people
<v Speaker 4>can't afford these new games.
<v Speaker 1>It sucks. Yeah, it's very very I mean whether or not.
<v Speaker 1>And I can sit and I'm not trying to justify it,
<v Speaker 1>but I am trying to find the rationale in it,
<v Speaker 1>because that's what I usually try and do when I
<v Speaker 1>see something. I'm like, Okay, what's the rationale? And rest
<v Speaker 1>am I okay with it? You know. But the reality is,
<v Speaker 1>and I say this in my video from yesterday, the
<v Speaker 1>reality is everything's more expensive, and money is money, and
<v Speaker 1>people can't afford more expensive. So we can justify it
<v Speaker 1>all we want. We can be like, for me, I
<v Speaker 1>can afford it, and I guess it makes sense if
<v Speaker 1>I get X, Y and Z, But if there are
<v Speaker 1>people that can afford it and they get priced out
<v Speaker 1>of this console, it's gonna hurt. It's gonna hurt the sales,
<v Speaker 1>and it's gonna hurt Nintendo. So it's a gamble, and
<v Speaker 1>I hope it pays off. I don't I don't know
<v Speaker 1>how I feel about the enhanced versions and the extra
<v Speaker 1>YOCB and twenty more. What that tells me, then, is
<v Speaker 1>the enhanced versions of these games definitely are like fully optimized,
<v Speaker 1>retweaked and re talked versions that go all the way
<v Speaker 1>with performance, and then the free update ones must just
<v Speaker 1>be like little patches and like it might perform a
<v Speaker 1>little better, but nothing worth paying for. So I don't
<v Speaker 1>know how much difference we'll even see in something like
<v Speaker 1>Scarlet and Violet. It's it's definitely gonna be a when
<v Speaker 1>time comes kind of thing, and we're gonna have to
<v Speaker 1>see if any of this is actually worth Also, with
<v Speaker 1>Tiers of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild, a
<v Speaker 1>lot of people might be thinking, but I thought there
<v Speaker 1>is new content. I took a look. I took a
<v Speaker 1>look at their seven minute more deep Dive trailer yesterday.
<v Speaker 1>Those enhanced games. All of the extra content is from
<v Speaker 1>the mobile app. So if you connect the mobile app
<v Speaker 1>to Breath of the Wild and Tiers of the Kingdom,
<v Speaker 1>now you get like GPS navigation in the in the
<v Speaker 1>on the thing, like Google Maps for in game. They
<v Speaker 1>have little voice notes that play with a new voice
<v Speaker 1>acting you have to use you have to use your phone.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah no, but this you won't have to with this upgrade. No, no, no.
<v Speaker 1>What I'm saying is no, you're wrong.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah no, I'm taking Oh okay, so that makes sense
<v Speaker 4>why I would want it on the switch? What it
<v Speaker 4>makes sense because you're saying that if I were to
<v Speaker 4>get that DLC right now on my switch one, I
<v Speaker 4>would have to use my phone.
<v Speaker 1>No, yours, No, there's no d OC. Let me start again.
<v Speaker 1>I'm sorry. Okay, now you're no, no no. If I'm not
<v Speaker 1>explaining it, well, then then chat's probably confused to Breath
<v Speaker 1>of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. The enhanced
<v Speaker 1>versions aren't as expensive as the other enhanced version because
<v Speaker 1>they don't have any extra DLC. It's just four K sixty.
<v Speaker 1>People might be thinking right now, wait, I saw in
<v Speaker 1>the trailer that you could use GPS navigation and Breath
<v Speaker 1>of the Wild Now and some other stuff. That's because
<v Speaker 1>in these enhanced versions, if you connect your mobile phone,
<v Speaker 1>there's some stuff that happens on the phone while you play,
<v Speaker 1>so it does GPS navigation, it will have little voice
<v Speaker 1>acting notes from Zelder. If you scan in Ambo five
<v Speaker 1>times in the game, the app will track that and
<v Speaker 1>on the fifth time you get extra rewards. So there's
<v Speaker 1>a ton of extra stuff that happens in those two games,
<v Speaker 1>but it's only on the app. Okay, alright, So for people,
<v Speaker 1>the people that don't want to use the app and
<v Speaker 1>don't care about that, charging ten dollars extra for that
<v Speaker 1>would be insane. So it's just like a weird little
<v Speaker 1>free extra thing. So is that ten dollars extra on
<v Speaker 1>top of the four K upgrade for one game? Selda?
<v Speaker 1>You're killing me. I'm sorry, Cela doesn't have a four
<v Speaker 1>K upgrade, is what you does? It does? Yes, So
<v Speaker 1>this ten dollars you're paying for the switch to enhanced version,
<v Speaker 1>which is the four K sixty.
<v Speaker 4>And the DC there's no doc sorry, and the phone stuff. No, okay,
<v Speaker 4>all right, I'm sorry. It does confuse I'm watching other
<v Speaker 4>things I'm sorry.
<v Speaker 1>I think maybe I think maybe for that last one,
<v Speaker 1>maybe I should have said yes, the phone thing. The
<v Speaker 1>these enhanced versions have extra Okay, I don't know how
<v Speaker 1>to say no, no, no, no no these two. It's not
<v Speaker 1>about you're saying it. It's just about, like, I'm just
<v Speaker 1>trying to make these two enhanced versions use the mobile
<v Speaker 1>app to get like some extra information on the mobile
<v Speaker 1>app that doesn't cost anything. That's just what those enhanced
<v Speaker 1>versions do. What you're paying for is the four K
<v Speaker 1>sixty enhanced, just like on Kirby. You're paying for the
<v Speaker 1>four K sixty enhanced ten dollars, and then the extra
<v Speaker 1>next ten dollars is for the doc Star Cross World.
<v Speaker 4>That was my question, got it? Okay, Sorry, everybody's grilling
<v Speaker 4>me in the chat. Sorry, guys, I'm dumb. I'm no,
<v Speaker 4>I'm sure.
<v Speaker 1>I'm sure you're not the only person in the room
<v Speaker 1>right now of like three thousand people watching that are confused. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>there are some people. It is very no, it's very confusing,
<v Speaker 1>and it's all new. Yeah, and the only reason I
<v Speaker 1>know as much as I know, and I could be
<v Speaker 1>wrong as well, by the way, I'm literally right now
<v Speaker 1>theorizing this based on what that ad was saying. The
<v Speaker 1>only reason I know anything is because I made a
<v Speaker 1>video last night and I've been trying to I've been
<v Speaker 1>tweeting and asking people questions about it, and I've been
<v Speaker 1>trying to learn. But it's very confusing, and it's all new.
<v Speaker 1>You haven't really been in this situation before.
<v Speaker 3>Oh.
<v Speaker 4>In this this guy is saying that mobile app isn't
<v Speaker 4>even available in his country. Oh really, Yeah, that's crazy. Well,
<v Speaker 4>then if you get the enhanced version, you can't even
<v Speaker 4>use all of that.
<v Speaker 1>You're not dumb. Thanks, you're beautiful, you're sweet, you're gorgeous,
<v Speaker 1>you're a nice guy, and you mean well, I mean, well,
<v Speaker 1>it's not my fault.
<v Speaker 4>No work, No, it's just okay, I'm sorry, guys, I
<v Speaker 4>haven't played the news. You don't have to say the Kingdom, Okay,
<v Speaker 4>I am. I don't want to confuse everybody else. I
<v Speaker 4>don't want to make this more complicated. But I haven't
<v Speaker 4>played the new Breath of the Wild, so I'm just
<v Speaker 4>trying to put wrap my brain around it. And I
<v Speaker 4>think what was confusing me was that we're getting that
<v Speaker 4>DLC for Kirby. So my question was is if it's
<v Speaker 4>the same thing, it's not. It's we are. That's why
<v Speaker 4>Kirby is.
<v Speaker 1>More I think, I mean again, we're working on like
<v Speaker 1>I'm guessing yes, because that that ad. Let me just
<v Speaker 1>show it one more time. Let me try and zoom
<v Speaker 1>in too. Let me just try and zoom all the
<v Speaker 1>way in. Can you sure? Yes? So here's what I'm
<v Speaker 1>trying to explain for anyone that's still confused. Maybe and
<v Speaker 1>I didn't notice this. So Kirby here and Mario Party
<v Speaker 1>Jamboree are eighty, but Breath of the Wild is only seventy.
<v Speaker 1>But they're both enhanced versions, right, And what I've now
<v Speaker 1>realized is all this says is intend to switch to
<v Speaker 1>edition nothing extra. There's no DLC. Yeah, this says switch
<v Speaker 1>to edition plus Star Cross Worlds. It's got extra DLC.
<v Speaker 1>That's why this one's twenty, and this has a This
<v Speaker 1>has a plus. You see you even see the plus
<v Speaker 1>right here. Uh, this one's an extra twenty. This one's
<v Speaker 1>only ten. And then the only reason I brought up
<v Speaker 1>the mobile app is because in the trailer for this
<v Speaker 1>it kind of looks like there's extra stuff, but all
<v Speaker 1>of it is only on the app. Nothing in the game.
<v Speaker 1>Nothing's extra in the game, which actually kind of sucks
<v Speaker 1>because there's things like when you walk into Zelder's room
<v Speaker 1>if you have the app on, she'll start talking to
<v Speaker 1>you about a memory that she had in the room,
<v Speaker 1>like with her actual voice acting in her being Zelder.
<v Speaker 1>Got it? God, damn are we saying Zelder's room? Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>links room?
<v Speaker 3>No?
<v Speaker 1>No, no, I'm sorry. I'm also focusing on chat. I
<v Speaker 1>should just stop at it. I'm just never asking. You
<v Speaker 1>were looking at me dead in the eye, and I said,
<v Speaker 1>you walk into Zelda's room and you hear one of
<v Speaker 1>her memories and debt without breaking kaigh contact, you went
<v Speaker 1>and her being I'm sorry, guys, there's a lot happening
<v Speaker 1>on the screen. There's a couple of people I had
<v Speaker 1>to mute because we get some we got some spammers
<v Speaker 1>in here. But I'm not trying to get excuse so
<v Speaker 1>I was trying to make is uh, We're gonna get
<v Speaker 1>off this in a second. Sorry, guys. Is that that's
<v Speaker 1>actually kind of cool? Right?
<v Speaker 3>No?
<v Speaker 1>For sure? Why is that not in the game? Why
<v Speaker 1>are you locking that behind the app? I agree, because
<v Speaker 1>like in ten twenty years from now, you know, if
<v Speaker 1>I want to revisit my Zelder Switch and Hands edition.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe I don't have I can't be bothered with the app,
<v Speaker 1>or it's all content I'm not going to get when
<v Speaker 1>I play the game. So I don't know. I think
<v Speaker 1>it's silly to I don't know why they're still forcing
<v Speaker 1>the app. You're looking at chat and last, so I
<v Speaker 1>don't know what's happening.
<v Speaker 4>Because I'm done asking questions. No, I understand it now.
<v Speaker 4>I understand it now. I think you broke it down
<v Speaker 4>very clearly.
<v Speaker 1>I was my last part was very funny. People are
<v Speaker 1>gonna love that and hoping that's that's maybe a clip.
<v Speaker 4>Okay, I have a I'm gonna shoot something out there.
<v Speaker 4>Can we've been talking to what are we on? We're
<v Speaker 4>approaching an hour and a half.
<v Speaker 1>An hour and a half, No, no, no, I was gonna say,
<v Speaker 1>can we can we a little bit the last little
<v Speaker 1>bit of time? Can we focus on some positives? Last
<v Speaker 1>little bit of time? Tree I could go for hours.
<v Speaker 1>I could too, I could go for longer.
<v Speaker 4>But what I'm saying is for the next little bit,
<v Speaker 4>let's let's talk about maybe some of the Treehouse clips
<v Speaker 4>that I sent you. I'd love to talk about Mario
<v Speaker 4>Kart and some of the characters have been at like
<v Speaker 4>the costumes. I would like to do that. Can I
<v Speaker 4>wrap up the point. Let's wrap up the point.
<v Speaker 1>It's your show, it's my show, it's our show. Wait here, ah,
<v Speaker 1>so let me wrap up the point on has the
<v Speaker 1>switch to his price destroyed the hype? And actually I
<v Speaker 1>want to give back a tiny bit because we we
<v Speaker 1>talked a lot about physical and everything, and I gave
<v Speaker 1>some opinions on that, and I didn't really get to
<v Speaker 1>finish because we all kind of moved on, and I
<v Speaker 1>just want to say that, like, I don't like where
<v Speaker 1>we're going with physical. I think it's I think we're
<v Speaker 1>in the stage where it's gone and we're holding on
<v Speaker 1>to shreds of what companies are willing to give us.
<v Speaker 1>I don't like the way it's going. It's just I've
<v Speaker 1>made peace with it. It's unfortunate I sit in front
<v Speaker 1>of a bunch of games here. I'm a physical collector,
<v Speaker 1>and I wish that I could just keep collecting physical
<v Speaker 1>but unfortunately, really since the Xbox three sixty days, any
<v Speaker 1>game that you have is subject to insane amount of patches.
<v Speaker 1>There's a million examples of games like Cyberpunk that come
<v Speaker 1>out and the game that you play now is not
<v Speaker 1>the game that it was at launch, which means all
<v Speaker 1>of those discs are they have a completely different game
<v Speaker 1>on it. And that's even before we get into those
<v Speaker 1>games like Hogwarts Legacy that are essentially just a key
<v Speaker 1>card to play a game, or games that only have
<v Speaker 1>half the game on the disc or the cartridge. Patches
<v Speaker 1>are I think one of the biggest ones, because no
<v Speaker 1>game is safe from getting these huge patches. So I've
<v Speaker 1>really made my piece with it, and I know when
<v Speaker 1>I buy a physical game that I really don't know
<v Speaker 1>what I have on my disc or my cartridge. I
<v Speaker 1>don't know how much of the game is on it,
<v Speaker 1>or how it's going to be to play that game
<v Speaker 1>years later. And another thing too, is once I learned
<v Speaker 1>that physical games, you don't once I learned that you
<v Speaker 1>don't really own the game, but once you realize you're
<v Speaker 1>still buying a license to play the game. Even when
<v Speaker 1>you buy a physical the actual data on the disc
<v Speaker 1>is just a license to play. A game company can
<v Speaker 1>still take that game away from you. They can still
<v Speaker 1>block that game from being played when you put the
<v Speaker 1>disc in. If you're connected to the internet, you know,
<v Speaker 1>and it's not that different to when they take away
<v Speaker 1>a digital game. So there are so many and there's
<v Speaker 1>so many fringe cases, and I know people like to
<v Speaker 1>bring up things that like, you know, well, at least
<v Speaker 1>I have something, or you know, think about older games
<v Speaker 1>that have been removed and never come back. And it's
<v Speaker 1>the same with movies and music. For me, you know,
<v Speaker 1>all of my movies are on Netflix or Hulu, and
<v Speaker 1>those are constantly being taken away from me and then
<v Speaker 1>giving back, and I just have to deal with it.
<v Speaker 1>And unfortunately, with video games, they've gotten so big they've
<v Speaker 1>outgrown physical media. The gigabytes to make a game are
<v Speaker 1>too large to fit on physical discs anymore. So I've
<v Speaker 1>just made peace with it. I don't like it. I'm
<v Speaker 1>not happy about it. It sucks for video game preservation
<v Speaker 1>and I know that and I realize that, but unfortunately,
<v Speaker 1>what am I gonna do?
<v Speaker 3>You know?
<v Speaker 1>So I've just made peace with it. But it does suck,
<v Speaker 1>and I know that it sucks. What are you gonna
<v Speaker 1>do now? To end the little wrap up point? Has
<v Speaker 1>a switch tooth price destroyed the hype? I think for
<v Speaker 1>a lot of people that clearly has. I think there
<v Speaker 1>has been a lot of Nickel and Dimi things that
<v Speaker 1>are coming across very greedy from nintender. At the same time,
<v Speaker 1>there were a couple of positives like we got win
<v Speaker 1>Waker essentially for free. They've made it so you don't
<v Speaker 1>even have to use their own camera. You can use
<v Speaker 1>Hory's camera, or you can use a Logit Tech nine
<v Speaker 1>twenty that you buy it best by, you know, as
<v Speaker 1>long as it's a USB camera you can say fifty dollars.
<v Speaker 1>So there are some things here that suck in a
<v Speaker 1>Nickel and Dimi, and then there are some things here
<v Speaker 1>that are actually kind of cool. I think it's just
<v Speaker 1>going to be a time will tell on if any
<v Speaker 1>of what is price hiked is actually worth it. But
<v Speaker 1>has it destroyed the hype for me? No, But it
<v Speaker 1>does suck to go online and see people pretty much
<v Speaker 1>only complaining about it rightfully so because it's like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>this is not the hype, this is not this is
<v Speaker 1>not the launch I was hoping for, you know. So
<v Speaker 1>I think it has. But at the same time, I'm
<v Speaker 1>going to pretty much not focus on it. From here,
<v Speaker 1>I made my video on YouTube. I made this episode
<v Speaker 1>and from here. I'm just going to try and keep
<v Speaker 1>being excited and talking about the positives. So yeah, I mean,
<v Speaker 1>that's it. And also, let me just if I could
<v Speaker 1>just put my two cents in. It's just that you
<v Speaker 1>can still be excited about the switch and what it
<v Speaker 1>has to offer, and you can still love the switch,
<v Speaker 1>and you can still want to get it, but that
<v Speaker 1>doesn't mean you need to get it at launch. You
<v Speaker 1>could still be exciting. You said you're gonna wait, right,
<v Speaker 1>I think personally, I'm gonna wait. That's just me. I
<v Speaker 1>may be one of the pores that people are saying
<v Speaker 1>in the chat, but I think I might wait.
<v Speaker 4>I just wasn't that excited about it. But I am
<v Speaker 4>excited about the switch too and the future of Nintendo.
<v Speaker 4>I'm just not so excited about getting it waiting in
<v Speaker 4>the line at game stop at midnight, you know what
<v Speaker 4>I mean.
<v Speaker 1>I think Baseline. I know there's a lot of extra
<v Speaker 1>charges around it, but I think baseline we pretty much
<v Speaker 1>everyone's kind of on board with four fifty being decent,
<v Speaker 1>and to get a bundle that adds Mario and then
<v Speaker 1>you're paying only fifty for Mario. If that's all you're
<v Speaker 1>getting at launch, I don't think really enough people are
<v Speaker 1>realizing all focusing that that's not bad. Actually, you know, like,
<v Speaker 1>let's I'll repeat it. But you know, four fifty we agreed,
<v Speaker 1>that's good. You get fifty do for the new Mariacar game.
<v Speaker 1>You save thirty bucks. But also like, that's ten dollars
<v Speaker 1>less than what games normally are. If that's all you're getting,
<v Speaker 1>that's I don't that's a pretty good buy in. I
<v Speaker 1>think it just depends on how much you want to
<v Speaker 1>commit to after that. You know, do you want to
<v Speaker 1>use the camera? Do you want to get another game?
<v Speaker 1>Is that other game gonna be eighty dollars? That's really
<v Speaker 1>up to you. But I remember growing up, you know,
<v Speaker 1>as a kid or like getting any console on Launch,
<v Speaker 1>I pretty much only ever got like one game. If
<v Speaker 1>I was lucky, I would get a second game. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>that seems pretty average. Console. At Christmas, I get one.
<v Speaker 1>I think that's not too for a buy in. I
<v Speaker 1>don't think that's gonna hurt I don't think that's gonna
<v Speaker 1>hurt it too much. I guess we have to wait
<v Speaker 1>and see what the tariffs. But the bundle, as LP
<v Speaker 1>says in chat, is definitely clutch. You got you gotta
<v Speaker 1>drop five hundred clutch? Is that a cart reference plus far? Nice?
<v Speaker 1>That's nice. But I think that baseline that's pretty good.
<v Speaker 1>I think we can all agree that's pretty good. Yeah.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I mean, and you have to remember too that
<v Speaker 4>all your Switch games will be playable. So maybe you're
<v Speaker 4>one of those people who, like, haven't really picked up
<v Speaker 4>your Switch in a while, or maybe you don't have
<v Speaker 4>a switch.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, you have the Switch library, at least most of it.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know if all. Even if you don't, you
<v Speaker 1>can dip in. You go, you can buy switch to
<v Speaker 1>and then start a Switch one library. Go buy Scotland
<v Speaker 1>and Violet. It gets a free patch exactly, So I
<v Speaker 1>think people will be able to find value. But that's
<v Speaker 1>a really good point between the old library and whatever
<v Speaker 1>is offered in the new library. I mean, bravely Default.
<v Speaker 1>It's a day one game. I know it's a game
<v Speaker 1>caught game, but that's forty bucks. Yeah, I'm pretty sure.
<v Speaker 1>And people and people like you would in Elia, like
<v Speaker 1>you guys all bought the Switch at launch. You have
<v Speaker 1>to remember I bought the Switch, you know, with my
<v Speaker 1>stimulus check. I bought it with Animal Crossing, So I've
<v Speaker 1>only had the switch one for you know, not as
<v Speaker 1>long as you have for maybe four or four years,
<v Speaker 1>five years. So I'm not done with my switch one.
<v Speaker 1>I brought my Switch one. I was playing it on
<v Speaker 1>the train. I love the switch I was playing it
<v Speaker 1>last night. Yeah, yeah, no, I agree. Also, someone else
<v Speaker 1>pointed out that with inflation from twenty eighteen, even the
<v Speaker 1>switch to only costs like sixty dollars more than the
<v Speaker 1>switch one with inflation, respectively. So I don't know if
<v Speaker 1>you can get your head around that. But if we're
<v Speaker 1>still talking about pricing, can I ask you one more
<v Speaker 1>question that I was thinking about last night? Now? Please,
<v Speaker 1>dude is a genius about this stuff. He'll be able.
<v Speaker 1>I am not, but I appreciate that. Well, you'll be.
<v Speaker 4>Able to answer this question instantly. I feel like, has
<v Speaker 4>there been a console release where the next like the
<v Speaker 4>new console is only like, what is it one hundred
<v Speaker 4>and fifty more than you know, an OLED?
<v Speaker 1>What is a OLED? Right now?
<v Speaker 4>It's three fifty? Yeah, yeah, so it's only it's only
<v Speaker 4>one hundred more to buy the switch to. Has there ever.
<v Speaker 1>Been such a small difference between the consoles? You know
<v Speaker 1>what I mean?
<v Speaker 4>No, I was surely I was shocked because I feel
<v Speaker 4>like one hundred bucks. It's like, why would I buy
<v Speaker 4>an oled A D right now?
<v Speaker 1>You know what I mean? I would just wait for
<v Speaker 1>the switch too. I'm going to pull it. I'm going
<v Speaker 1>to pull a and her being on you and just
<v Speaker 1>ask you to repeat it one more time because I
<v Speaker 1>didn't quite get it. Okay, I deserve it. Okay, So
<v Speaker 1>my question is, okay, like, you know, when the three
<v Speaker 1>sixty turned to the Xbox one. Yes, has there ever
<v Speaker 1>been a console release like that that has only been
<v Speaker 1>a difference of like one hundred dollars?
<v Speaker 3>Like?
<v Speaker 1>Is that is that normal? I was shocked when me
<v Speaker 1>and Elia were going back and forth because of or
<v Speaker 1>you just mean in general in general. We were going
<v Speaker 1>back and forth on Twitter and they were saying when
<v Speaker 1>the prices were being released, I was like, there's no
<v Speaker 1>way it's not five hundred, and then the price always
<v Speaker 1>goes up. Is that what you're saying? No, what I'm
<v Speaker 1>asking is, uh, yeah, we are having a reverse now.
<v Speaker 1>Not being clear this is my fault. Ok No, I'm
<v Speaker 1>not a yeller, not that you are. Okay, No, all right,
<v Speaker 1>let me try to simplify this, Okay, let's do it
<v Speaker 1>right together? You and I podcasting.
<v Speaker 4>I think I think we are. I think, yeah, I
<v Speaker 4>think we get along great. Okay, so let me try
<v Speaker 4>to Maybe I need to reword this question. I was
<v Speaker 4>just shocked that it's only one hundred dollars more to
<v Speaker 4>buy the switch to versus O l ed has.
<v Speaker 1>That is that normal? Is the Was the ever one
<v Speaker 1>hundred bucks cheaper than the PS five? Was the PS
<v Speaker 1>four ever one hundred bucks cheaper than the PlayStation four? Yeah? Was?
<v Speaker 4>Was it just one hundred dollars difference ever? To upgrade
<v Speaker 4>your console like it is now?
<v Speaker 1>Switch? That's great question. So the reason why I'm confused
<v Speaker 1>is because I think the answer is just an obvious yes.
<v Speaker 1>I think I think every time a console has ever
<v Speaker 1>been succeeded, it's always cost more. I think, like I
<v Speaker 1>because inflation, because you go long, like eight ten years later.
<v Speaker 1>I'm not asking if it's money, it's the cheap it's
<v Speaker 1>just such a cheap upgrade, A cheap upgrade. Oh you
<v Speaker 1>think usually it's way more? Yeah, I'm I'm what was
<v Speaker 1>the difference between three sixty and Xbox one? I feel
<v Speaker 1>like it was like two three hundred bucks. It can
<v Speaker 1>have been well because like at the time that the
<v Speaker 1>three at the time three sixty was being sold for
<v Speaker 1>like a cheap away, cheaper price. Haven't it lowered? You
<v Speaker 1>mean on release? I'm talking about on release. Sorry, That's
<v Speaker 1>where I was like a lot.
<v Speaker 4>Of people are saying that the we U and the
<v Speaker 4>Switch were close in priced like that.
<v Speaker 1>But I'm not asking if it's but I'm not sure
<v Speaker 1>if they know. But I'm not sure if they know
<v Speaker 1>what you're asking because this whole time, the reason why
<v Speaker 1>I was confused is because I thought you you meant
<v Speaker 1>on launch of the Xbox three sixty. Has there been
<v Speaker 1>a time that the launch of the next console was more?
<v Speaker 1>And like, yes, every every single time it's more, But
<v Speaker 1>you mean like on the same day, like right now,
<v Speaker 1>witch day, I could buy a Led for three fifty
<v Speaker 1>I've ever thought about. And I don't know the answer
<v Speaker 1>to your question. But the reason why we're in this
<v Speaker 1>position right now, I can tell you this one is
<v Speaker 1>because Nintendo never drops the price on their console. So
<v Speaker 1>the Switch has been the same price since launch. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>so it's never come down. That's why right now it's
<v Speaker 1>only one hundred or one hundred and fifty more because
<v Speaker 1>they never dropped their price on the previous one, whereas
<v Speaker 1>Xbox three sixty will drop their price more and more
<v Speaker 1>as time comes along. Okay, yeah, maybe that's just a
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo thing. But I don't know the prices of each
<v Speaker 1>console at launch, so I'm just seeing if it's or
<v Speaker 1>even like, I don't even I couldn't even tell you
<v Speaker 1>what a three sixty was when an Xbox one came out.
<v Speaker 1>I just don't retain that kind of that's like, that's
<v Speaker 1>a brainman type of memory. I think. I'm sorry. I
<v Speaker 1>had too much faith in you. I guess, yeah, too
<v Speaker 1>much faith.
<v Speaker 4>Everybody's saying we're sharing one brain cell, we have one
<v Speaker 4>between us, Yes, the one uniform Britain. I would argue,
<v Speaker 4>you separate brain cells that just aren't clicking.
<v Speaker 1>No, you know what it was the South, I say,
<v Speaker 1>I was, I confuse you, You confuse me. I think we're
<v Speaker 1>even all right, let's talk about some past. Let's go,
<v Speaker 1>let's go down the positive alley. I did want to find.
<v Speaker 1>There was this really funny tweet of Nintendo switched to innovation,
<v Speaker 1>and it was a guy that tweeted four images. One
<v Speaker 1>was like an like an EyeToy, one was like an
<v Speaker 1>old nineties mouse. One was a picture of like Skype,
<v Speaker 1>and then one was something else, and it was like
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo innovation in twenty twenty five, which is true, and
<v Speaker 1>it is kind of funny to think about every single
<v Speaker 1>one really of the gimmicks of this new Nintendo. It's
<v Speaker 1>really only new for Nintendo when their hardware. But as
<v Speaker 1>far as like the rest of the world in the industry,
<v Speaker 1>these gimmicks are pretty old. I unfortunately cannot find that
<v Speaker 1>right now though. Unless I liked it, I'm not sure
<v Speaker 1>if I'm in the wrong account. All right, let me
<v Speaker 1>bring up I don't know what do you got? What
<v Speaker 1>do you want me to bring up? In here?
<v Speaker 4>I sent you some stuff about the Mario Kart. I
<v Speaker 4>think people are already play testing, so we have some
<v Speaker 4>Mario Kart footage of the characters. We have some Mario
<v Speaker 4>Kart footage of gameplay. I saw somebody with a mouse
<v Speaker 4>playing fucking Metro. Excuse me, you playing Metroid, which is
<v Speaker 4>so cool. I'm so excited to play Metroid with the mouse.
<v Speaker 4>That sounds awesome.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that does sound awesome. I was saying that in
<v Speaker 1>my video when I was talking about the mouse and
<v Speaker 1>why the mouse is sick. Is because everybody in that
<v Speaker 1>little feeble brains were like, how am I going to
<v Speaker 1>play a mouse when I sit on a couch? And
<v Speaker 1>my whole point was like, you won't. When have you ever?
<v Speaker 1>Who's asking you to do that? What's your obsession with
<v Speaker 1>the couch? And now we know that this console is
<v Speaker 1>four K sixty and can do ten ADP one hundred
<v Speaker 1>and twenty frames, So you could dock this thing at
<v Speaker 1>your computer setup and have your games running at four
<v Speaker 1>K sixty on your manual computer monitor or whatever and
<v Speaker 1>play Metroid with a mouse like you're at the computer.
<v Speaker 1>And what was the switch always about? It was about
<v Speaker 1>play anywhere, anytime, whatever, whatever. And I'd argue one of
<v Speaker 1>the really the only places people would never play the
<v Speaker 1>switch is probably just like sat at a desk. So
<v Speaker 1>this is just maybe not we can use a controller.
<v Speaker 1>I did it sometimes, but this is just giving you
<v Speaker 1>another way of play. Just you have a mouse now,
<v Speaker 1>and maybe it will encourage more like first person shooters.
<v Speaker 1>You know I would love that. I mean, I know
<v Speaker 1>you play Valerie. What about a Valerie on switch? To switch?
<v Speaker 1>Away from switch? We don't need that, We're to switch
<v Speaker 1>users are too pure innocent, can you show this Philly
<v Speaker 1>Beats You video. I can That's one thing I could definitely.
<v Speaker 5>Do, but Nintendo has completely outsmarter though.
<v Speaker 1>Let me explain a lot. Now, I know Philly and
<v Speaker 1>I like Philly, but I hate tiktoks like this. Did
<v Speaker 1>you call him Philly? D No, Philly beats you? Okay,
<v Speaker 1>I was like, it is kind of very Philly. Do actually,
<v Speaker 1>I just I always It's not as fault as TikTok formula.
<v Speaker 1>It was this thing is this way because it is
<v Speaker 1>let me explain, and then that sound effect.
<v Speaker 5>Onto the switch to Nintendo is prioritizing actual Nintendo Switch
<v Speaker 5>one players before anyone.
<v Speaker 1>Here are the required So that is true. And also
<v Speaker 1>he's worded it in a way where it seems like
<v Speaker 1>this is how you have to pre order the console,
<v Speaker 1>and that's not true.
<v Speaker 5>It's Number one, you need to be a Nintendo Switch
<v Speaker 5>online member for a minimum of twelve months with an
<v Speaker 5>active membership on the day that the preorder is purchased.
<v Speaker 5>Number two, you must have opted in to share gameplay
<v Speaker 5>data and at least have fifty hours.
<v Speaker 1>Of total gameplay.
<v Speaker 5>Number three make sure you have opted in to receive
<v Speaker 5>promotion with emails and messages from Nintendo. The first batch
<v Speaker 5>of emails go out on mix.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, this blew up. This absolutely blew up, as
<v Speaker 1>like their way of uh and good for him, by
<v Speaker 1>the way, awesome. Anytime I see something like this, my
<v Speaker 1>first thought is I should have done that, I should
<v Speaker 1>have made that TikTok. No good for him. So what
<v Speaker 1>he's talking about, and I had to look this up,
<v Speaker 1>is everything he said is true. On May eighth, if
<v Speaker 1>you have done all those things and you have an account,
<v Speaker 1>there is a set selection I suppose of pre orders
<v Speaker 1>available to you where you can. I don't know how many,
<v Speaker 1>I don't know. If it's limited, I don't know. I
<v Speaker 1>don't know. Maybe it's not limited. That would be sick.
<v Speaker 1>But you can pre order, but that's on May eighth,
<v Speaker 1>a whole month after preorders go live. So on April ninth,
<v Speaker 1>I believe preorders go live. So game stop Best by wherever,
<v Speaker 1>go out pre order, see if you can get one
<v Speaker 1>the normal way, and then if you can, and if
<v Speaker 1>they all go because of scalpers, you can on May
<v Speaker 1>eighth try again, assuming you qualify and you have all
<v Speaker 1>the things that he said. And now I love that
<v Speaker 1>they did this, Like why not. That's a great option
<v Speaker 1>that Nintendo were giving some of their loyal players, But
<v Speaker 1>don't worry or freak out. That's not the only way,
<v Speaker 1>and it's probably not the way a lot of us
<v Speaker 1>are going to pre order the console. Because I'm not
<v Speaker 1>going to wait till May eighth to find out if
<v Speaker 1>I can do this. I'm going to go day one
<v Speaker 1>to every game stop, Best By, Target, Walmart that I
<v Speaker 1>can possibly go to and try and get one, assuming
<v Speaker 1>it's hard to get one. So will that even guarantee
<v Speaker 1>you getting it on release day? This program, you would assume.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, I don't like doing like online ordering for
<v Speaker 1>consoles because sometimes they send them on time. Sometimes they
<v Speaker 1>even send them early. If you order something online like this,
<v Speaker 1>sometimes I show up the day before, but my fear
<v Speaker 1>is that they'll show up on the day at like
<v Speaker 1>five pm, and I want it. I want it one
<v Speaker 1>minute past midnight. So I always try and go and
<v Speaker 1>get a physical in person so I can go store
<v Speaker 1>opening pick it up, or if you know there's a
<v Speaker 1>midnight launch, sometimes they do those at nine pm. Now
<v Speaker 1>I want to go to GameStop at midnight, and I
<v Speaker 1>want to I want to get at asap, but it's
<v Speaker 1>really cool they're doing this, and it will helpfully solidify
<v Speaker 1>and if it's hard to find, it'll help people actually
<v Speaker 1>get one. But to his point at the start of
<v Speaker 1>the video where he said Nintendo have done this to
<v Speaker 1>fight scalpers, I guess in a way, yes, because Nintendo
<v Speaker 1>fans that qualify will not have to worry about scalpers.
<v Speaker 1>But that will not help scalpers. Yeah, I mean, this
<v Speaker 1>thing is gonna get scalped if it's hard to find.
<v Speaker 1>There's nothing you can do to help scalpers. Yeah, And
<v Speaker 1>even then, even if this was the only way that's
<v Speaker 1>going to encourage the people that do qualify to be like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>no one else has one of these, I could sell this. Yeah. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>you know. So I don't think there's anything you can
<v Speaker 1>ever do to combat scalpers. But I yeah, as I said,
<v Speaker 1>I guess in the sense of like, as long as
<v Speaker 1>you qualify for this, there is a route for you
<v Speaker 1>to avoid having to pay a scalper. So my hope
<v Speaker 1>is that with this program. When we were talking about it,
<v Speaker 1>I was thinking about this with the Steam Deck, if
<v Speaker 1>you pre ordered the Steam Deck, you would just get
<v Speaker 1>it when you get it, But you were guaranteed one
<v Speaker 1>as soon as they become available again. So this, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>this way you would be able to combat scalpers in
<v Speaker 1>the sense that people who deserve one will eventually get one.
<v Speaker 1>There will never be like a shortage. I mean this
<v Speaker 1>in that way. Yeah, I mean this is for pre orders,
<v Speaker 1>and it's pre orders a month out, so I would
<v Speaker 1>assume these people will get at day one. Okay, I
<v Speaker 1>don't think this is a as stock. Also, the reason
<v Speaker 1>why Steam did it that way is because that was
<v Speaker 1>a brand new thing. They've never made hardware before. They
<v Speaker 1>didn't know how many were going to sell, or they
<v Speaker 1>didn't know how many to get ready. They had no analytics,
<v Speaker 1>no basis, no prep no planning. There was nothing they
<v Speaker 1>could do to prepare for that. So they took pre
<v Speaker 1>orders in and then they had to start making the
<v Speaker 1>console like in waves. So when your time, when your
<v Speaker 1>time came, you got That's not Nintendo. Nintendo have all
<v Speaker 1>the marketing research in the world. They know how they
<v Speaker 1>know how many players they have in their door base,
<v Speaker 1>they know how many consoles they need. They're apparently the
<v Speaker 1>the the lead or I don't know what word to use.
<v Speaker 1>The report is that they have like twenty million units
<v Speaker 1>ready to go, so it should more than well and
<v Speaker 1>cover everybody trying to get one in the first year.
<v Speaker 1>This thing should not be in a situation where it's
<v Speaker 1>hard to find. I hope, I hope not. I mean
<v Speaker 1>that I feel like that's the best way to combat
<v Speaker 1>scalpers is just to make.
<v Speaker 4>That's the best way. That's the only way I can
<v Speaker 4>get one. Yeah, that's all I care about. You walk
<v Speaker 4>in late, two months late. As long as I get one.
<v Speaker 4>It's not like I walk up to game stop and
<v Speaker 4>they're like, we haven't had any in three months and
<v Speaker 4>they laugh in my face.
<v Speaker 1>I agree. It's how you combat scalpers is you guarantee
<v Speaker 1>the people who want to deserve one get one. If
<v Speaker 1>you can walk into a store and pre order it,
<v Speaker 1>or you can walk into a store and grab it
<v Speaker 1>off the shelf, then that's how you beat scalpers. Yeah. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>one hundred percent. One hundred percent. H Okay, what else
<v Speaker 1>have we got that? That really wasn't even that fun
<v Speaker 1>of a goof I sent you the gameplay that I
<v Speaker 1>was talking about. So, speaking of Philly beats you, apparently
<v Speaker 1>he's actually with the switch to today. Oh, the guy
<v Speaker 1>of the video we just watched. That's you tomorrow, That's
<v Speaker 1>me tomorrow. I don't I don't even know how he
<v Speaker 1>did it. Today. He literally just texted me to send
<v Speaker 1>me the picture that he was there, and I was like, cool,
<v Speaker 1>do you let me know if you want me to
<v Speaker 1>come with you? I mean, I don't know.
<v Speaker 4>I can't obviously get in the building with you, but
<v Speaker 4>maybe I can supply you with any It's a three
<v Speaker 4>hour event, so oh okay, well, I mean maybe I
<v Speaker 4>can meet you at the end and grab something from you.
<v Speaker 1>We'll talk about it. Well at the end, I'm dashing
<v Speaker 1>to my car and speeding home to get to be
<v Speaker 1>with your pregnant wife, as you should. Well that and
<v Speaker 1>to stop making the video. But yes, let's get some
<v Speaker 1>claps in the chat for a good dad I have.
<v Speaker 1>I asked Kip and Lyft to come take care of
<v Speaker 1>Kim and look after Kim while I'm gone. That's nice.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, yeah, that must be tough to walk away,
<v Speaker 4>but I'm sure Kim it's terrifying.
<v Speaker 1>It's terrifying, but she'll be okay. He's not due for
<v Speaker 1>a month. Yeah, And also, like we just saw she
<v Speaker 1>she's in good spirits. Guys, so that's great. Can you
<v Speaker 1>show my screen? I sure can. My one brain starts
<v Speaker 1>to do that. Oh, it's just like dubbed music, yes
<v Speaker 1>for sure, all right, I don't really need the music.
<v Speaker 1>All right. So, uh, every starting character an outfit and
<v Speaker 1>Mario call it world. Wow. That just that's funny that
<v Speaker 1>their brain did that while they were there, that they
<v Speaker 1>were like, let's do this for content, let's show every character.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, people like me are curious. No, I know,
<v Speaker 1>have we been able to before. That's pretty cool that
<v Speaker 1>you could play as a cow in this one. Man,
<v Speaker 1>it's there, it is. The cow is incredible. I honestly
<v Speaker 1>don't know who's not playing as the Mumu cow for
<v Speaker 1>Moo Moo meadows. Oh, Donkey Kong looks cool. Oh these
<v Speaker 1>are like outfits for them. Yeah, it's weird that they're
<v Speaker 1>separate characters. You see that. It's not like you. That
<v Speaker 1>is weird. Yeah. Also, from what I could tell in
<v Speaker 1>the gameplay, you eat stuff to change outfits too. Look
<v Speaker 1>at that distinguished gentleman ghost. I know, I saw a
<v Speaker 1>tweet of that distinguished boo and people were like, not
<v Speaker 1>enough people are talking about this guy. I think we
<v Speaker 1>saw the same look at him. He's so adorable. You
<v Speaker 1>guys can barely see him, can I zoom? Yes? You
<v Speaker 1>can look at the boy. What a distinguished gentleman. He's
<v Speaker 1>very sweet. King Brew aristocrat, aristocrat. God, I couldn't talk,
<v Speaker 1>all right, I cut away. So I'm going to bring
<v Speaker 1>up The Treehouse quickly because I was watching it this
<v Speaker 1>morning and they showed a bunch of gameplay we can
<v Speaker 1>take a look at.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, and then apparently they were showing off the new
<v Speaker 4>joy Con features and stuff like that, which is like,
<v Speaker 4>I hope they actually use those because I feel like
<v Speaker 4>the Switch one didn't use all those cool I remember
<v Speaker 4>when they showed off the Switch one, they showed the
<v Speaker 4>joy Cons and they had that little ice you know
<v Speaker 4>what I'm saying.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that's the hate rumble. Yeah, I feel like that
<v Speaker 1>wasn't utilized as much as I wanted it to be. Well,
<v Speaker 1>now they have HD rumble too, so I guess we'll
<v Speaker 1>see if they actually use that. We're getting HD rumble too.
<v Speaker 1>Before grandf dot six, pretty much the only thing they
<v Speaker 1>ever used HD rumble for at the end was to
<v Speaker 1>like play music through the rumble in some games, like
<v Speaker 1>in Mario Uh Mario Wonder the rumble would go off
<v Speaker 1>at a certain frequency to like play a Mario song. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>all right, we have well we don't we could. What
<v Speaker 1>do we have? Oh screenshirt? We sure do. Okay, So
<v Speaker 1>I was watching some of this today. I think it's
<v Speaker 1>eighteen minutes long. So I actually think I was watching
<v Speaker 1>pretty much all of it while I was in the shower.
<v Speaker 1>You have a waterproof phone, Well yeah, I mean the
<v Speaker 1>iPhone is waterproof. I don't know. I don't trust that.
<v Speaker 1>I don't put mine. I mean I don't dunk it
<v Speaker 1>in the water. It gets a little wet, but it's fine.
<v Speaker 1>You your first wood showers.
<v Speaker 3>There.
<v Speaker 1>There were some little fun things I saw in this
<v Speaker 1>while he was racing, Like he was by and far
<v Speaker 1>winning at one point, so he did this really sick
<v Speaker 1>little rail grind across the finish line to show off,
<v Speaker 1>and I just like little moments. I think it's right here.
<v Speaker 1>Actually wow, crushed it. He's like, yeah, I'm just going
<v Speaker 1>to show off. That was sick. Was I actually look
<v Speaker 1>forward to like little things like that. And then I'm
<v Speaker 1>glad that I watched all of this because now we
<v Speaker 1>can just skip to the good parts. Okay, So here's
<v Speaker 1>something sick by the way, he's doing a traditional four
<v Speaker 1>course race. After the race ends, it doesn't just load
<v Speaker 1>you to the next course. You have to drive to
<v Speaker 1>itported oh, because all of the courses are in the world.
<v Speaker 1>That's crazy. Wait, would you have to do that in
<v Speaker 1>like an online is he playing single player? Would you
<v Speaker 1>have to do that in an online setting? Because I
<v Speaker 1>can well it kind of It's just Mario Kart. Uh yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I mean, I'm just saying, like, let me explain better.
<v Speaker 1>When you drive to the next course, you're still racing,
<v Speaker 1>so it's like a yeah, a race ends, it resets you,
<v Speaker 1>but you're not at the next course yet. Race begins,
<v Speaker 1>so you race to the course and then it just
<v Speaker 1>keeps going and then you do the course. Got it? Okay,
<v Speaker 1>that makes sense at least that's my understanding from what
<v Speaker 1>I was watching. Uh so, yeah, he's I think they've
<v Speaker 1>already either begun or they're still I don't know where
<v Speaker 1>the course actually begins. They might still be trying to
<v Speaker 1>get there. Actually, it looks like if you look at
<v Speaker 1>the map up here, I know it's very hard to see,
<v Speaker 1>but it looks like this is the course here maybe
<v Speaker 1>oh yeah, and then they're still trying to get there.
<v Speaker 1>But I kind of like that because one of my
<v Speaker 1>favorite course types in the last Mario cart were just
<v Speaker 1>the straightaways, like the downhill avalanche one. I was about
<v Speaker 1>to bring that like some of those. I kind of
<v Speaker 1>like not having to do loops and just going on stretches.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, it's like different every time. And then you do
<v Speaker 4>the mirrored of that one. Yeah, it's even different then then,
<v Speaker 4>So I thought that was really cool. And then they
<v Speaker 4>showed off the last map and it's so sick as
<v Speaker 4>they're going towards it. It's an ad actually. So this
<v Speaker 4>is part of the game right here where you level
<v Speaker 4>up on taxis with H and R Blong.
<v Speaker 1>That's my favorite. Um go there, that level looks sick.
<v Speaker 1>Oh whoa. So they just drove to the level and
<v Speaker 1>the level is Donkey Kong. That's so cool. And there's
<v Speaker 1>a robot Donkey Kong and from the top of the
<v Speaker 1>level he throws down barrels as you're driving. That's so cool.
<v Speaker 1>I know it's really sick. So I'm not going to
<v Speaker 1>show it purely because I believe spoilers are a thing
<v Speaker 1>and I think this is pretty pretty big. Spoilers, Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>for sure, oh they end it here in this video
<v Speaker 1>they've clipped it. But in the actual thing they kept
<v Speaker 1>going for a little bit and they were showing the
<v Speaker 1>free roam, which is unfortunate. He was free roaming around
<v Speaker 1>the city and like eating hamburgers. Actually he might have
<v Speaker 1>done that sooner, but he was like going up to
<v Speaker 1>NPCs and just I don't know, just messing with the
<v Speaker 1>world that you can like free room in. Yeah, it's
<v Speaker 1>really cool. Oh yeah. Also there's no glider in this one.
<v Speaker 1>They were talking about how just little wings pop up,
<v Speaker 1>pop out, and I think that happens up here when
<v Speaker 1>he does this jump. Yeah, are we getting rid of
<v Speaker 1>all the like gravity stuff? That seems kind of yeah,
<v Speaker 1>it seems like it. So he's just got little wings
<v Speaker 1>now and he glides with the wings. There's no glider,
<v Speaker 1>which I kind of like that more. Actually, yeah, I
<v Speaker 1>guess there's no gravity because and actually I will ruin
<v Speaker 1>a part of this map because it was really sick.
<v Speaker 1>There's wall bouncing now, oh yeah, like he did with
<v Speaker 1>the railing, so you don't even need like uh. I
<v Speaker 1>think I think what they were doing is like, why
<v Speaker 1>do we have specific points where you can do that?
<v Speaker 1>Why can't you just do that, and so here, wherever
<v Speaker 1>you want, you can just bin bin bomb. How sick
<v Speaker 1>is that? That's so cool? That's really fun and you're
<v Speaker 1>doing like tricks the whole time. Yeah, that's awesome. Oh,
<v Speaker 1>blue Shell's back. Can you imagine Blueeshell with twenty four players?
<v Speaker 1>That sounds so Blueeshell every two sears being one to
<v Speaker 1>twenty four instantly. All right, jat's Mario, you can cut away?
<v Speaker 1>Have we got anything else? Are we juicing? Because we did?
<v Speaker 1>We I did promise people an hour a long bonus
<v Speaker 1>and we're almost at like two hours right now. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>you know I I came a long way, so I'm
<v Speaker 1>in no rush to get back. So you can always
<v Speaker 1>do an hour bonus another time, and doing just a
<v Speaker 1>regular bonus today, whatever you want to do, if you want,
<v Speaker 1>If you if my one brain cells pissing you off,
<v Speaker 1>you want me out of your hair, as long as
<v Speaker 1>long as Patreon's are okay with me putting a pin
<v Speaker 1>in the iou, which they probably will be because Patreon's awesome.
<v Speaker 1>All right, let me pull up some things here that
<v Speaker 1>some people asking about Donkey Kong. I would love I
<v Speaker 1>would love to talk about Donkey Kong. Oh talk about it.
<v Speaker 1>It looks I don't think we Oh wait, no, they
<v Speaker 1>ditch all our freehouse has some cool I don't want
<v Speaker 1>to see it. Oh you don't want to spoilers? Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I'm sorry.
<v Speaker 4>No, I don't an't. That's that's for everybody else. I mean,
<v Speaker 4>we could watch the trailer again. Can we watch the
<v Speaker 4>trailer again?
<v Speaker 3>Or no?
<v Speaker 1>We can peep the trailer very much. Yeah, let me.
<v Speaker 1>I'm just pulling up some of these articles that we've
<v Speaker 1>been sharing in our discord because I don't want to
<v Speaker 1>miss anything here. What do you think about his newish look,
<v Speaker 1>new oh Donkey Kong. Yeah, I think it's really good.
<v Speaker 1>And actually I was I saw on Twitter today the
<v Speaker 1>original artist of the older Donkey Kong was commenting on
<v Speaker 1>how he likes it, and he was just being really
<v Speaker 1>positive because yeah, I mean, his character's been redrawn, which
<v Speaker 1>has got to sting a little bit, but he seemed
<v Speaker 1>to really like it, and he was appreciating everybody showing
<v Speaker 1>the love to the previous design too. I saw an
<v Speaker 1>image someone had fan art drew the old Donkey Kong
<v Speaker 1>and the new one, and they were both like, we
<v Speaker 1>look awesome with like a handshake, and he retweeted that,
<v Speaker 1>So that was very sweet. That's very sweet. But yeah, no,
<v Speaker 1>I thought it looked really good. It kind of looks
<v Speaker 1>like the old design anyway. There's something about it that's
<v Speaker 1>almost more nineties.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, no, for sure that I feel like it kind
<v Speaker 4>of almost looks more like the drawings. I feel like
<v Speaker 4>maybe there was some sort of graphical reason they couldn't
<v Speaker 4>do a one for one to the drawings.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I don't know, all right, I want to show
<v Speaker 1>all of these quickly. They just tweets that we've been
<v Speaker 1>sharing in our little work discord. We have, Uh we
<v Speaker 1>sure do we have this one? This is kind of
<v Speaker 1>a negative one, but you know, I I do think
<v Speaker 1>we need to keep an eye on the whole we
<v Speaker 1>use situation and make sure we're not heading towards it again.
<v Speaker 1>Insanely overpriced. That's not true off the rip, that one
<v Speaker 1>is wrong.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, that I mean, I think that's what all of us,
<v Speaker 4>include myself, are agreeing on that the prices that is reasonable,
<v Speaker 4>but first with inflation.
<v Speaker 1>But from here named very similar to the predecessor dismissive reveal.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know what that means. Isn't a complete rit
<v Speaker 1>rein it's this divisive, by the way, disissed device if
<v Speaker 1>oh god, I'm so I can't read, adds a camera
<v Speaker 1>and a mic, no cool color options to first party
<v Speaker 1>games at launch, Welcome back the WI you. This tweet
<v Speaker 1>is very mean spirited and I don't agree with half
<v Speaker 1>of it, but I will say, after all the backlash
<v Speaker 1>and everything, it's I'm getting a little worried. And also
<v Speaker 1>my first thing with the box when I saw the
<v Speaker 1>box is that looks exactly like the O LED switchbox.
<v Speaker 4>That's That's what I'm saying. And it's like, you're gonna
<v Speaker 4>you're gonna have a Gramdma. Who's buying this for?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, the kids, there's still gonna be confused. I just
<v Speaker 1>get the one hundred dollars cheaper one. Why wouldn't I?
<v Speaker 1>And also like I feel like adding the mic, the camera,
<v Speaker 1>I mean, and really focusing on like the camera add
<v Speaker 1>on being the only thing that's really different here. It's
<v Speaker 1>like if you don't really pay it, if you don't
<v Speaker 1>know what's going on, you are like the grandma or mom,
<v Speaker 1>You're like, oh, so it's a camera. I don't want
<v Speaker 1>my kids to have a camera. They can just have
<v Speaker 1>switch one, or like, wait, is the switch to just
<v Speaker 1>a camera add on? For the switch one, it was
<v Speaker 1>much like the game pad, Like even when I saw
<v Speaker 1>the Yeah, I thought you could just buy the game competit.
<v Speaker 1>It's giving game pad. It's giving Like what is the
<v Speaker 1>switch to? And why is there a camera? And is
<v Speaker 1>it connect?
<v Speaker 4>I think it's I think it's crazy that they haven't
<v Speaker 4>learned that. I think it's we shouldn't called it switch
<v Speaker 4>to for that reason. So you could really differentiate even
<v Speaker 4>if they look similar, like the Xbox One and the
<v Speaker 4>Xbox Series S or whatever. They look similar, but you know,
<v Speaker 4>at least they have stronger names. Maybe Xbox isn't.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I don't know. I don't Maybe maybe it is obvious.
<v Speaker 1>I'm just trying to put my head into somebody that's
<v Speaker 1>half paying attention and wondering how it's coming across.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, And I mean, you gotta you gotta remember that
<v Speaker 4>when you're when you're doing, when you're working for Nintendo,
<v Speaker 4>a lot of the fan base are going to be kids.
<v Speaker 4>I mean Nintendo is like predominantly like more of a
<v Speaker 4>younger fan.
<v Speaker 1>Here's a positive look at the price. So this says,
<v Speaker 1>if you get the switch to what screenship. If you
<v Speaker 1>get the switch to Mario Kart, a Pro controller, new
<v Speaker 1>joy Cons, a carrycase, and screen protector, it'll still be
<v Speaker 1>cheaper than buying the PlayStation five Pro. Is that is
<v Speaker 1>that true? Well? The PlayStation five Pro is seven hundred dollars,
<v Speaker 1>so if we do five hundred, five eighty new joy
<v Speaker 1>Cons would be six seventy. Yeah, but why would you
<v Speaker 1>get another JOYCN if you're getting the Pro controller you
<v Speaker 1>already He's just saying what you could get for the price,
<v Speaker 1>so that you could get then instead of that, if
<v Speaker 1>you wanted to say, you could get Mario Kart, two
<v Speaker 1>extra eighty dollars, games, a carrycase, and a screen protector.
<v Speaker 1>So switch to three games, carrycase, and screen protector, it
<v Speaker 1>will still be cheaper than the PlayStation five Pro. I see, Okay.
<v Speaker 1>I think my original confusion was I thought they were
<v Speaker 1>against the price, but it seems like no, it's positively
<v Speaker 1>still saying yeah, it's positive yeah, and that's a good
<v Speaker 1>I think that's a good way of looking at it.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, the Pro is obviously like the intense version
<v Speaker 1>of PlayStation five and two hundred dollars. More so, I
<v Speaker 1>I guess the equivalent without that would be you could
<v Speaker 1>probably get switched to and two games for the price
<v Speaker 1>for the price of a base PlayStation, and both can
<v Speaker 1>do four K sixty And I can't really remember a
<v Speaker 1>time that the PlayStation five base model has been able
<v Speaker 1>to play an FPS at one hundred and twenty frames.
<v Speaker 1>But maybe I'm wrong. So I think I think there's
<v Speaker 1>good comparisons here, while there's also bad ones. Next, this
<v Speaker 1>was you sent this and you were right, Cyberpunk will
<v Speaker 1>come on it? Well, actually it says it will come
<v Speaker 1>on a physical game card sixty four gigs. I don't
<v Speaker 1>know if that means the whole game is on it.
<v Speaker 1>That's what everybody was saying in chat, that the whole
<v Speaker 1>game is Well, I think this, And here's the thing.
<v Speaker 1>If they're getting it from this, it's because this seems
<v Speaker 1>like it's saying it's But what if the game's seventy gigs? Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I mean, what if there's one update? What if there's
<v Speaker 1>one like patch, they add in five gigs of content
<v Speaker 1>that just couldn't fit. It doesn't actually, unless I mean
<v Speaker 1>I haven't obviously read it. There's words here, but unless
<v Speaker 1>read who does that? Unless it actually says the entire
<v Speaker 1>game is on the cart, which I don't believe it does. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>it doesn't say those words. There is still a chance
<v Speaker 1>that it's not. But this is obviously still good and
<v Speaker 1>I would I would hesitate a guess and say that
<v Speaker 1>there's probably a playable version of this game on the
<v Speaker 1>cart Yeah, I mean sixty four gigs. Yeah, I don't
<v Speaker 1>think it's that big. I would love to. I would
<v Speaker 1>love to do some experiments on like a second switch
<v Speaker 1>to don't connect it to the internet and see what
<v Speaker 1>games actually you can play without an Internet connection. That'd
<v Speaker 1>be really interesting. Yeah, but this is this is good news.
<v Speaker 1>I don't want to sound negative. It's I always go
<v Speaker 1>into these situations with like for my own peace of mind.
<v Speaker 1>I always think to myself, it's probably not on on them,
<v Speaker 1>just because I don't want to get my hopes uff
<v Speaker 1>Like I feel like, yeah, but who knows, maybe maybe good?
<v Speaker 1>Maybe yeah maybe maybe maybe.
<v Speaker 4>Uh do you think any of this might have to
<v Speaker 4>do with it? I mean, do you think that this
<v Speaker 4>game card thing will be a forever thing? Like like
<v Speaker 4>they're saying this now because that's just the what.
<v Speaker 1>Do you mean, the key the key cut thing. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>that is just we're not gonna We're never gonna go
<v Speaker 1>back to physical being on the disc. Do you think, well,
<v Speaker 1>we still have physical on disc. It's not every game,
<v Speaker 1>That's what I'm saying. Okay, cool, I'm glad it's not
<v Speaker 1>every game. Yeah no, I pulled up the the that
<v Speaker 1>sheet earlier and only half of them, like Bravely Default
<v Speaker 1>was a game cap, but Mario Cott wasn't. Stuff like that.
<v Speaker 1>And the TI I Switch app seems kind of based.
<v Speaker 1>Now check friends play status, uh switch one into somebody
<v Speaker 1>just said somebody just said cross that it's Cross saved Cyberpunk.
<v Speaker 1>There's no no way can you go that? I will
<v Speaker 1>Google that. Screenshots and videos viewable and shareable from the
<v Speaker 1>app game specific features like Zelda notes Splat three and yeah,
<v Speaker 1>this does not sound based to me. I didn't share
<v Speaker 1>this in our discord. This sounds horrible. I don't want
<v Speaker 1>any of this. This app is trying to say that
<v Speaker 1>this This tweets say the app sounds good. I don't.
<v Speaker 1>I don't need an app to tell me when my
<v Speaker 1>friends are alive. I don't need an app to share
<v Speaker 1>my screenshots. I don't need an app for features in
<v Speaker 1>video games. I need the console and the video games
<v Speaker 1>to do that. That might be a crazy take, but
<v Speaker 1>stop putting that on an app. Put it in the games.
<v Speaker 1>Put it on the console. Oh yeah, here's the listening
<v Speaker 1>April ninth for the pre orders. We've already talked about that, right.
<v Speaker 5>Now, load up whatever ROM you want, and online multiplayer
<v Speaker 5>will actually work.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, this must be an old Oh it's two days ago.
<v Speaker 1>It's a delta. I sent you a delta. Oh it's
<v Speaker 1>not related to Okay, sorry, no, it's fine, don't be sorry.
<v Speaker 1>And then this is a a mock up of what
<v Speaker 1>a switch my brains I might have to end soon.
<v Speaker 1>My brain's starting to die. A Metroid prime for Beyond
<v Speaker 1>Switch theme would look like it's obviously it's just fan art,
<v Speaker 1>but just to get you excited for possibilities. You can
<v Speaker 1>cut away. I know you're googling. They're they're right, they
<v Speaker 1>were right. Well that's cross safe. They just sent it
<v Speaker 1>to you. They were right, they were right, And I
<v Speaker 1>gotta pull something else up. Who is that? Who said that? Yeah?
<v Speaker 1>Who said that? Because that's crazy? That is crazy. Cyberpot
<v Speaker 1>you can show Cyberpunk twenty seven to seven, and then
<v Speaker 1>a switch version is cross progression compatible. I saw questions
<v Speaker 1>about cross progression on switch to and you can mix
<v Speaker 1>and match platforms to your liking. Yes, the switch To
<v Speaker 1>version would be fully cross progression compatible with versions from
<v Speaker 1>other platforms. That's insane. That's sick. That's so sick. That
<v Speaker 1>won a lot of favor from me from Cyberpunk. Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>they're saving physical Actually, that's I want to talk about
<v Speaker 1>what I'm excited for with some of these things, and
<v Speaker 1>Cyberpunk I'm actually excited for. So I don't know if
<v Speaker 1>you know this, but on my channel, like three years ago,
<v Speaker 1>I had one of my really not first big videos,
<v Speaker 1>but a big video for me at the time. I
<v Speaker 1>reviewed Cyberpunk and it got like two million views pretty quickly,
<v Speaker 1>and it was a very extensive look at how much
<v Speaker 1>that game lied to us over the ten or thirteen
<v Speaker 1>years of time it was in development, and it really
<v Speaker 1>resonated with people, and I became known as the guy
<v Speaker 1>that reviewed Cyberpunk for a long time. So now all
<v Speaker 1>these years later, there's been DC patches and updates and
<v Speaker 1>things that apparently fixed the game, but I've never gone back.
<v Speaker 1>Now I get to go back on the switch that
<v Speaker 1>would be cool. That's kind of cool. Callback I'm actually
<v Speaker 1>really excited for that. And also I want to say
<v Speaker 1>that I don't think there's anything that can fix that
<v Speaker 1>game as far as like what I wanted it to be.
<v Speaker 1>I know they've added some things, but I am very
<v Speaker 1>curious and hopeful that it will be better than the
<v Speaker 1>first time I played it, and it will probably be
<v Speaker 1>more fun for me baseline, because I can do it handheld,
<v Speaker 1>and for some reason, I do have more fun playing
<v Speaker 1>games handheld.
<v Speaker 4>So yeah, I mean, I mean, it's not just you.
<v Speaker 4>I feel like a lot of people wanted that game
<v Speaker 4>to be something so different. I remember when the trailer released,
<v Speaker 4>I was like, that's not going to be a thing.
<v Speaker 4>There's no way they can fulfill those promises.
<v Speaker 3>No.
<v Speaker 1>Well, and here's the thing. Depending on what trailer you watched,
<v Speaker 1>and it's probably the main one, it was a fake trailer. Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>that was like, that was a big part of my video.
<v Speaker 1>And we found out later from some developers leaking it
<v Speaker 1>that they had a deadline to show that trailer, but
<v Speaker 1>they had no game yet. They couldn't figure out what
<v Speaker 1>the game was, so they just paid people like a
<v Speaker 1>CGI to make a trailer and then they had to
<v Speaker 1>try and make that game. How insane is that? That's greazy? Okay,
<v Speaker 1>so that I'm excited for eld and Ring. I've always
<v Speaker 1>wanted to do a second playthrough. I started the DLC
<v Speaker 1>and didn't get very far, so I'm excited. Does this
<v Speaker 1>have the DLC. That's a great question. It must. I
<v Speaker 1>assume that it does. I'm excited. I just want to
<v Speaker 1>start a new playthrough, and I just want to go
<v Speaker 1>all the way through the end of the DLC Final
<v Speaker 1>Fantasy seven remake. I love that that's on the console.
<v Speaker 1>I don't really have interest in replaying it again. I
<v Speaker 1>just finished Rebirth, so I'm not really going to check
<v Speaker 1>that out. But I'm excited to see what other like
<v Speaker 1>big third party games get support. I want to see
<v Speaker 1>Monster Hunt of Wilds, even though I know it's like
<v Speaker 1>terribly optimized. I want to see Monster Hunter of Wilds. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>before we end, we have a lot of super chats,
<v Speaker 1>so let me quickly hit all of those and then
<v Speaker 1>we can get out of here. Because we've been live
<v Speaker 1>a very long time at this point. Yeah, it's been fun, though,
<v Speaker 1>it's been really fun. Let's talk about can tell you
<v Speaker 1>my highlight our confusion? Yeah, it was the Zelder moment
<v Speaker 1>that was so funny. Ancho with five in super Chat,
<v Speaker 1>hope you're feeling okay right now, Kim, I'll pass that on.
<v Speaker 1>But she was, and then she started to feel pretty sick, apparently.
<v Speaker 1>Netweed with two answer, No, I understand the price emotion,
<v Speaker 1>but no, oh for the title. That's good. And I
<v Speaker 1>will say, if you're still super excited, like you know
<v Speaker 1>that you can afford this, you think it's in your
<v Speaker 1>price range, or you don't even care about the price
<v Speaker 1>and you're just still excited, I'm telling you, and I
<v Speaker 1>want this to be very well known. I actually feel
<v Speaker 1>that way. This thing is in my price range, right,
<v Speaker 1>I have every switch up here, I can afford one more, Like,
<v Speaker 1>just to be clear about where I stand, I'm very excited.
<v Speaker 1>This change is nothing for me. Also, the We You
<v Speaker 1>was such a failure, like a failure, and I loved
<v Speaker 1>that console and Nintendo supported it with such great games.
<v Speaker 1>So no matter what happens, it's gonna be great. But
<v Speaker 1>I just there's a whole other side where I'm passionate
<v Speaker 1>about the console in a way where I don't want
<v Speaker 1>it to get messed up. I don't want it to fail.
<v Speaker 1>I don't want all these third third party companies to
<v Speaker 1>come back and then get burned because no one buys
<v Speaker 1>it because it's too expensive. I don't want to reuse
<v Speaker 1>situation for all of those reasons, and also like if
<v Speaker 1>it isn't successful or as successful as it possibly could be,
<v Speaker 1>it means we don't get other cool things later. We
<v Speaker 1>don't get other cool games, other cool third party support,
<v Speaker 1>other like games that could have been made if there
<v Speaker 1>was a budget for it. You know. I want this
<v Speaker 1>thing to be so well received that everyone just wants
<v Speaker 1>to make some wacky game for it. You know. So
<v Speaker 1>I answered your question on discord about the DLC of
<v Speaker 1>Elden Ring. It is going to be included. Oh great,
<v Speaker 1>But my question is asked, isn't there a second DLC
<v Speaker 1>coming out? And will that come out? There's a war
<v Speaker 1>Zone type DLC, so like a fort now, yeah, Battle Royale,
<v Speaker 1>it's like a co op PvE. I believe Battle Royale.
<v Speaker 1>That's kind of cool in a room or like on
<v Speaker 1>the in the world. I mean, I don't I don't
<v Speaker 1>really know, but yeah, that's that's like the base understanding
<v Speaker 1>that I have rough Rock in gaming. I believe Taris
<v Speaker 1>are a big cause for the prices. You know, I'm
<v Speaker 1>not rolling it out. I don't think so right now,
<v Speaker 1>but I'm definitely not rolling it out. Like what if
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo were just saying, we know it's coming, so we
<v Speaker 1>want to future proof the price, and it's four fifty
<v Speaker 1>so we don't have to raise it later. But again,
<v Speaker 1>I'd say the only counterpoint, the big one for me,
<v Speaker 1>is that when not the only country, and everyone else
<v Speaker 1>is paying these prices too, even countries aren't affected by tariffs,
<v Speaker 1>which is every country other than US right now. So
<v Speaker 1>pixels wy Robots on Amazon France, Mario Kart is fifty
<v Speaker 1>eight euros. How much is I don't know what that
<v Speaker 1>is in real money, you know, in real people money.
<v Speaker 1>Let's get out of monopoly here. Uhm bread. I'm glad
<v Speaker 1>I live in the UK, where retailers ignore their MSRP
<v Speaker 1>instead seeming completely over low prices. I would have to
<v Speaker 1>suffer those dumb costs. Brett. Yeah, I'm not sure what
<v Speaker 1>you mean in what direction, but I remember in Australia
<v Speaker 1>the MSRP did not mean anything. Sometimes games would come
<v Speaker 1>out and be cheaper than America, and then other times
<v Speaker 1>they'd come out and be like one hundred and twenty dollars.
<v Speaker 1>It was very bizarre. DJ French Fry. I do love
<v Speaker 1>their attempt to stop scalpers, but what are they doing
<v Speaker 1>their preorders a month after I do? Oh, but why
<v Speaker 1>are they doing their preorders a month after retailers? I
<v Speaker 1>don't know. I honestly can't tell you what the strategy
<v Speaker 1>is there. I might need some time to think about
<v Speaker 1>that one. They are clearly spacing it out though, and
<v Speaker 1>I'm not sure why. Maybe to see how much stock
<v Speaker 1>they have is my first guess. See how the first
<v Speaker 1>month of preorders go and see how many they can offer.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know. Mark read UK with ten and my
<v Speaker 1>plan is to see how Wood gets on daily driving
<v Speaker 1>one for a while before I commit to anything, as
<v Speaker 1>I probably won't qualify on playtime for pre order. See Mark,
<v Speaker 1>see I love Philly beats you. But that thing went
<v Speaker 1>viral and it's kind of misinforming people. It's kind of
<v Speaker 1>giving the wrong idea. Best of luck to both tomorrow
<v Speaker 1>and beyond. Matt Piers with five. I used an inflation
<v Speaker 1>calendar from the Bank of England. The prices will check
<v Speaker 1>out money is simply worth less. Eighty works out to
<v Speaker 1>about sixty. Yeah, So Matt, this was a big thing.
<v Speaker 1>People were saying, like people gave up on the seventy
<v Speaker 1>dollars too quickly. Like when games went up to seventy,
<v Speaker 1>people are saying, like, see, you guys gave into that
<v Speaker 1>too quickly. I think there was. It was more that,
<v Speaker 1>like we had sixty dollar games for so long, like
<v Speaker 1>fifteen years, it got to the point where inflation had
<v Speaker 1>changed so much in that time that we were getting
<v Speaker 1>a steal on games compared to how much they used
<v Speaker 1>to be. So when it went up to seventy, a
<v Speaker 1>lot of people, you know, we grumbled, and it was begrudging,
<v Speaker 1>but we were like, all right, the cost to maker
<v Speaker 1>game has gone up by like a thousand times, and
<v Speaker 1>what you're charging us has gone down technically with inflation
<v Speaker 1>like a hundred times. So something had to give, like
<v Speaker 1>a damn had to break. So I think a lot
<v Speaker 1>of people were kind of like, all right, fine, seventy,
<v Speaker 1>all right, blah blah blah blah blah. That's a separate thing.
<v Speaker 1>All of a sudden, now like six months later, being
<v Speaker 1>slapped with an eighty is not what we agreed on.
<v Speaker 1>It's not what everybody begrudgingly grumbled, and we're like, all right,
<v Speaker 1>we get it, blah blah blah blah. That needs some
<v Speaker 1>other explaining, Like we can't be at an eighty dollar
<v Speaker 1>price range already, like we you can't just keep adding
<v Speaker 1>ten dollars when you feel like it, you know. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>for sure, Red Gravity, I'm waiting for the one hundred
<v Speaker 1>dollars Smash pro announcement. Well, I mean, technically, if you
<v Speaker 1>add up all the DC characters you bought, we might
<v Speaker 1>have already done that. Yeah, I mean, I think that's
<v Speaker 1>why seventy didn't seem so crazy, because a lot of
<v Speaker 1>people are spending you know, then extra ten dollars because
<v Speaker 1>it was sixty.
<v Speaker 4>Now it's you know, for seventy, they're spending extra ten
<v Speaker 4>dollars on like DLC or the special bonuses or whatever. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>in game bonuses, I'll say too.
<v Speaker 1>The Scientifician with five I hope Switch to Edition games
<v Speaker 1>will keep safe files from the Switch one games getting
<v Speaker 1>the update. Yeah. I actually saw that with Breath of
<v Speaker 1>the Wild, for example, they're adding you keep your save
<v Speaker 1>and they're adding an extra save slot. So before you
<v Speaker 1>can only have one save, now you can have two.
<v Speaker 1>So if you're picking it up Breath of the Wild
<v Speaker 1>on switch to. When you want to start a new save,
<v Speaker 1>you don't have to wipe your old one, which is
<v Speaker 1>really cool. Yeah, because people are gonna want to like
<v Speaker 1>start the game again, but they're not going to want
<v Speaker 1>to get rid of their game that they completed. Of
<v Speaker 1>course not. People don't realize four K sixty foot Nintendo
<v Speaker 1>was huge. I agree, Mobbick, use me like a like
<v Speaker 1>button for Wood to stop bullying his editor and pay
<v Speaker 1>him well hashtag we are all his editor? Oh? Is
<v Speaker 1>that because I kept asking chat check things for me? Am?
<v Speaker 1>I Are they standing up for me? Because then I'm
<v Speaker 1>going to side with them? Sorry? What just kidding? Wait?
<v Speaker 1>Do they mean you? I was not bullying you. You've
<v Speaker 1>never bullied me. I'm totally joking. God, damn it, king
<v Speaker 1>d I need more Mario Sports all right? That you're
<v Speaker 1>alone on that one from me?
<v Speaker 3>Uh?
<v Speaker 1>Mobick again, this is the same guy that I now hate.
<v Speaker 1>If we get Age of Vampires two on switch to
<v Speaker 1>with mass controls, I'll be Microsoft's slave and call him
<v Speaker 1>daddy forever, all right. I love how he's like pro
<v Speaker 1>worker one minute and the next he's just I want
<v Speaker 1>to be a slave. He can't stick to his convictions.
<v Speaker 1>Netweed with five brother Chack going crazy everywhere, drop prices
<v Speaker 1>comments getting twenty k up votes mean while in reality
<v Speaker 1>my local store so out of switch To pre orders. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I've seen a lot of people that are like I
<v Speaker 1>had someone in my life, I won't out them. They
<v Speaker 1>were like, no way, I can afford this, this is insane.
<v Speaker 1>And then I woke up this morning and they were like,
<v Speaker 1>I cave and I pre ordered it, and I'm like, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I know, and we're all gonna so what are you
<v Speaker 1>gonna do? Pre Orders are up for up for switch
<v Speaker 1>To in a lot of other countries, and a lot
<v Speaker 1>of the games are gone up for pre order already.
<v Speaker 1>This guy I'm talking about was in Australia, Little Joe's was.
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo was the apple of the gaming. I would say
<v Speaker 1>Sony is to be honest, but Nintendo have now shown
<v Speaker 1>their hand and they feel very much the same way.
<v Speaker 1>Can we talk about the GC game pad having two
<v Speaker 1>Sea buttons? No, because I didn't I didn't know. Uh wait,
<v Speaker 1>I've lost my spot here because I think more a
<v Speaker 1>coming in Warlframe can be played online for free on
<v Speaker 1>Switch and has voice chat built in, said mister Taratt.
<v Speaker 1>So that answered that question. Mobick again. I the new
<v Speaker 1>ones read because they're spicy flavored. Okay, I like that one.
<v Speaker 1>I sent you that meme. We didn't show it to Kim.
<v Speaker 1>I thought you'd get a kick out of it. Oh damn,
<v Speaker 1>I'm sorry. I must have forgot LP with five. And
<v Speaker 1>then it finally comes through on the hardware. But getting
<v Speaker 1>shade for software prices is the most Nintendo thing ever.
<v Speaker 1>Hope Mario Kart value it is priced in. And then
<v Speaker 1>we have poor de Gene say, you can put you
<v Speaker 1>can input the Konami code on that game boy toy.
<v Speaker 1>Oh what this really? That's what? Yeah? I saw that too. Wow,
<v Speaker 1>how does it try that? Yeah? I want to see it.
<v Speaker 1>And then our off law Mendez says, I think the
<v Speaker 1>game GameCube virtual console sold me. If I can only
<v Speaker 1>afford the console, I should be happy. That's looks good.
<v Speaker 1>So these have been on the desk the whole time
<v Speaker 1>because I bought them while we were looking for baby
<v Speaker 1>toys and I was going to make an April Fools
<v Speaker 1>video where I was like, I got it already, and
<v Speaker 1>I spent ten minutes intensely reviewing these and then I
<v Speaker 1>just ran out of time, and I always like back
<v Speaker 1>out of April Fools videos because I just don't want
<v Speaker 1>to upset people. All Right, on this one, you think,
<v Speaker 1>what is it? Up? Up, down, down, left, right, left right.
<v Speaker 1>I don't think it has batteries? Wait, oh, let's do it?
<v Speaker 1>What up up, up, down, down, left, right left right,
<v Speaker 1>be a start, I've messed it up already. Up up, down, down, left, right,
<v Speaker 1>left right, A start if I'm where stock there's no
<v Speaker 1>stot though, Try up down, just try b A without
<v Speaker 1>the start? Who is the chatter? We'll ask him again? Okay,
<v Speaker 1>up up, downtown, left, right, left right, b A? He
<v Speaker 1>did it? Is that? It is? That? What we is?
<v Speaker 1>That what we wanted? He did it?
<v Speaker 4>I think that guy might have just been pulling our chain.
<v Speaker 4>It did the same thing. Yeah, I think that's it. Okay,
<v Speaker 4>well that's very cool.
<v Speaker 1>Cool. What about on this one?
<v Speaker 4>I love how everybody's just watching a grown man play
<v Speaker 4>with a child's toy from behind, like they can't even
<v Speaker 4>see what you're looking at.
<v Speaker 1>Ooh, it's just unlocked. That's so funny. Yeah, I was right,
<v Speaker 1>ba start Okay cool. Whoever made these must have actually
<v Speaker 1>been a gamer, for sure, all right, we gotta get
<v Speaker 1>out of here. You can cue the music and the Patreon.
<v Speaker 1>Thank you so much everybody for watching. Hey, by the way,
<v Speaker 1>if you're watching the podcast right now and you're not

<v Speaker 1>thousand subscribers away from hitting one hundred thousand, and out
<v Speaker 1>of all the wacky things I've done on the internet,
<v Speaker 1>I've never got a play button for something that wasn't
<v Speaker 1>beat them ups. I've never got recognition for something that's
<v Speaker 1>not beat them ups. And we have been riding on
<v Speaker 1>this show for three years now. I want you to know,
<v Speaker 1>and for a lot of that of the last year
<v Speaker 1>or so, I've been doing it more alone than before,
<v Speaker 1>but obviously not counting Max and Ham who make this possible.
<v Speaker 1>Literally couldn't do it without you guys. By the way,
<v Speaker 1>Max edits our tiktoks, and we're in the discord sharing
<v Speaker 1>notes every week, and it just it helps to have
<v Speaker 1>someone you know, I'm here for you, buddy. I love
<v Speaker 1>the show, and it helps to have you, guys. And
<v Speaker 1>if you want Max to come back more, by the way,
<v Speaker 1>let him know, because it's it's a track and I
<v Speaker 1>want him to do it more often I think I

<v Speaker 1>you the Patreon score? I did, We've already past and
<v Speaker 1>then if you're a Patreon, sorry about that. I had
<v Speaker 1>a cheese croissant earlier and a half and a quarter
<v Speaker 1>and a quarter yeah, never mind, Thank you so much.
<v Speaker 1>The Patreons have been what's keeping this show going and
<v Speaker 1>keeping this show alive. And every week we do a
<v Speaker 1>bonus episode for Patreons that's exclusive to them. It's behind
<v Speaker 1>the Patreon paywall, but it's a whole episode just for them,
<v Speaker 1>and we're gonna go do one right now, me and Max.
<v Speaker 1>But there's literally a one hundred and thirty five and
<v Speaker 1>this episode one thirty five, So there's one hundred and
<v Speaker 1>thirty five bonus. That's wrong because we missed last week
<v Speaker 1>for the first time, so I am gonna have to
<v Speaker 1>do two separate ones. Yeah, we got it. Your your
<v Speaker 1>old one you're old one and we're gonna hit you
<v Speaker 1>with it. But there's one hundred and thirty four bonus
<v Speaker 1>episodes for you, guys, all for the price of five bucks,
<v Speaker 1>and it really supports the show. Go back and watch
<v Speaker 1>three years of episodes that no one else can see,
<v Speaker 1>you know.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, all right, Oh oh the music, let's go, oh
<v Speaker 4>bye everybody. She was perfect timing music and blew it.
<v Speaker 4>I'm mutinous. Bye guys.
