<v Speaker 1>is our first podcast from our official podcast table. We
<v Speaker 1>have a table now, and it takes forever to get
<v Speaker 1>in because we order everything from Amazon in these different places.
<v Speaker 1>It takes forever to get in. But we got our
<v Speaker 1>table in and we're sitting across from each other. We've
<v Speaker 1>got new microphone stands. We've got a TV with notes
<v Speaker 1>on it that we can follow, and soon our guests
<v Speaker 1>will be appearing to my left, you're right on a

<v Speaker 3>Yeah, and hopefully these things will be on YouTube so

<v Speaker 1>This last week we had Mother's Day.
<v Speaker 4>Busy week.
<v Speaker 1>It was very busy.
<v Speaker 4>Mother's Day. We had, y'all, we had a real live
<v Speaker 4>in person show this week.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and we told them that we were going to
<v Speaker 1>talk about that. I want to talk about Mother's Day
<v Speaker 1>really quick though. Mother's Day is it's such an important
<v Speaker 1>day for so many people. It's a very difficult day
<v Speaker 1>for a lot of people who've lost their parent like
<v Speaker 1>I have. And I mean it could be tough, man,
<v Speaker 1>it was. It's pretty it was pretty tough on me
<v Speaker 1>this year. It's the second year without her, you know.
<v Speaker 3>But and it's hard on people who might not have
<v Speaker 3>great relationships with their mothers too.
<v Speaker 1>Well. There's that absolutely, yeah, almost the same thing, you know,
<v Speaker 1>And sometimes I could be it's probably given construed as
<v Speaker 1>being worse because if you don't have a relationship with
<v Speaker 1>your mother and they're still here, that's just like it's
<v Speaker 1>a it's this ridiculous waste of time. Of course, I
<v Speaker 1>don't know the situation to everybody's situation. Everyone's situation is different,
<v Speaker 1>but it just seems like, let's just get over whatever
<v Speaker 1>it was. You're alive for goodness sake, you know what
<v Speaker 1>I mean. Yeah, set aside your petty differences, get on
<v Speaker 1>down the road. But anyway, how was your mother's days?
<v Speaker 1>It kind of sucked for you because we were on
<v Speaker 1>the road.
<v Speaker 3>Well, we were working, but I was so excited about
<v Speaker 3>being able to work because of all the craziness that's
<v Speaker 3>been going on around COVID. But yeah, we were traveling
<v Speaker 3>and I really didn't expect a whole lot, just because
<v Speaker 3>we were crazy busy. And we got home and little
<v Speaker 3>Cooper had with Dad's planning, had gotten flowers and had
<v Speaker 3>them all over the house.
<v Speaker 1>You had flowers almost in every room.
<v Speaker 2>I know.
<v Speaker 4>It was so sweet.
<v Speaker 3>They were like right by the bed, had some in
<v Speaker 3>the bathroom right when I walked in the front.
<v Speaker 1>Door, right by the toilet. Just to make it feel
<v Speaker 1>good when you're sitting down.
<v Speaker 4>You guys took me to sushi. We did as soon
<v Speaker 4>as we landed. I love sushi.
<v Speaker 3>And then the next day pretty much all day we
<v Speaker 3>kind of made it Mother's Day.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. Well, I was a little bit disappointed because usually
<v Speaker 1>I do red velvet pancakes for Valentine's Day and Mother's Day,
<v Speaker 1>and I didn't get to do that this time. So
<v Speaker 1>I did something different I've never done before.
<v Speaker 3>Though.
<v Speaker 4>We had amazing dinner the day after Mother's Day.
<v Speaker 1>We did who cooked that thing?
<v Speaker 4>You did?
<v Speaker 1>That's right?
<v Speaker 4>No, we had lobster for the first time at home.
<v Speaker 1>Never done that lobster tail.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>It was good, man.
<v Speaker 3>It was so good, so good that we saved some
<v Speaker 3>of it for bisk for dinner tonight.
<v Speaker 1>We made homemade bisk tonight.
<v Speaker 3>First time to make bisc but man, the dinner you
<v Speaker 3>made for Mother's Day though, that was pretty much off
<v Speaker 3>the hook.
<v Speaker 4>It was some photos on Facebook and a lot of
<v Speaker 4>people were like, what.
<v Speaker 3>The heck is that because it was kind of hard
<v Speaker 3>to tell. But it was with lobster tail, bacon wrapped aspiragus,
<v Speaker 3>She's toward LINI with shrimp scampy.
<v Speaker 4>It was. It was so good.
<v Speaker 1>It was good in the bottle of Ravana wine from

<v Speaker 4>Yes, friends Chip and Cindy.

<v Speaker 1>because we uh we got a call another artist had
<v Speaker 1>had to cancel a show for some reason. But it
<v Speaker 1>was in you Kaipa, California, and it's a a very
<v Speaker 1>it's a it's a pretty large outdoor venue, uh in California.
<v Speaker 1>And you know, I think we all we all kind
<v Speaker 1>of look at everyone looks at the big cities like
<v Speaker 1>or the states, you know, New York. Know, everyone's wearing
<v Speaker 1>a mask, and everyone's really particular about that and very
<v Speaker 1>kind of one sided. If you're either you are you aren't.
<v Speaker 1>I think the people think the same thing about California
<v Speaker 1>because when I told them, I was telling people how
<v Speaker 1>the show went and what was going on, they were like, really,
<v Speaker 1>y'all about three thousand people showed up at this show. Nobody,
<v Speaker 1>I mean, everyone was just being normal. It was the
<v Speaker 1>most normal moment we've had in two years. It was fantastic.
<v Speaker 4>It was so good.
<v Speaker 3>It was at the y Pack that's their brand new
<v Speaker 3>performing arts center, and I can't say enough amazing things
<v Speaker 3>about the place. Everything about it was beautiful, like They
<v Speaker 3>treated us so well. The sound and lighting crew were
<v Speaker 3>so sweet, the food was amazing.
<v Speaker 4>The whole day was just I mean it was literally
<v Speaker 4>the perfect gig, the perfect gig.
<v Speaker 1>It was good, and we did something we've never done before.
<v Speaker 1>So it was a last minute thing. So our sound
<v Speaker 1>guy to our manager couldn't go. So we were kind
<v Speaker 1>of like, well, we can't do this show. You know,
<v Speaker 1>our guitar player had already committed to somebody else, and
<v Speaker 1>so we called our friend Tim used to play with us.
<v Speaker 1>It played with this from time to time. He filled in.
<v Speaker 1>We had a quick rehearsal before we went down there,
<v Speaker 1>and we literally went with five people to headline a show,
<v Speaker 1>and it literally was It went off without a hitch.
<v Speaker 1>But it was just so much fun, man, I mean
<v Speaker 1>it was loud, amps were turned up to ten.
<v Speaker 3>It just felt good pulling up in the van and
<v Speaker 3>hearing a PA like them checking the PA before we
<v Speaker 3>even stepped out on stage to like sound check.
<v Speaker 4>I don't know, you know what I'm talking about. There's
<v Speaker 4>like this vibe to.
<v Speaker 1>A venue and everybody's preparing.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I don't know. It was great.
<v Speaker 1>It's the best.
<v Speaker 3>Thanks to everybody there and Kaipaw we had something really
<v Speaker 3>funny happened to one of the crew guys there, Why
<v Speaker 3>Pack Jason.
<v Speaker 4>He was trying to help us out with the way
<v Speaker 4>you pronounce the name of the town because it's weird.

<v Speaker 1>were having fun. Man, Like every five minutes, these guys
<v Speaker 1>in the front road were throwing these fireball shot little
<v Speaker 1>little jars of fireball at us.
<v Speaker 4>It was so much.
<v Speaker 1>I was like, guys, we can't do this. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>we have to play a show. We can't do this.
<v Speaker 1>But it was. It was so fun to look around
<v Speaker 1>and see the band just smiling. Everybody was smiling, so
<v Speaker 1>thanks so much for for showing up. So many people
<v Speaker 1>showed up, and it was just like they're ready to rock.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I think people are just over it, man. I think
<v Speaker 1>people have crossed the line and they're just like, you
<v Speaker 1>know what, let's just get back to whatever it was
<v Speaker 1>because we have to and it was really really cool

<v Speaker 3>And I've always wanted to visit Savannah, Georgia, and we've
<v Speaker 3>never had the time to just enjoy Savannah. We've been
<v Speaker 3>through there, so we're thinking about doing that. And we
<v Speaker 3>have some dear friends in Georgia, and I text Miss
<v Speaker 3>Bonnie and ask her where we should go, what we

<v Speaker 3>bottom right, and then you paint black, like it's a
<v Speaker 3>certain type of paint. You paint the whole thing black,

<v Speaker 3>black and it reveals the color that was behind it.
<v Speaker 3>I remember doing that when I was like in fourth
<v Speaker 3>grade or something, and I loved it.
<v Speaker 4>So he was super excited about that.

<v Speaker 1>high school the school participation things. I never really liked that.

<v Speaker 4>Yeah, we it was a big deal at our school.

<v Speaker 3>So you sold, like you had like these fundraisers and
<v Speaker 3>stuff to raise money for the decor. So we'd sell
<v Speaker 3>Krispy Kreme donuts because that's just what you do in
<v Speaker 3>South Alabama.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, we sold the crap out of donuts.
<v Speaker 1>I bet you did. But there wasn't a Krispy Kreme
<v Speaker 1>for miles around where you were from.
<v Speaker 3>We had mister John Turner. He was he was always
<v Speaker 3>like the sponsor.
<v Speaker 1>He was a donut man.
<v Speaker 3>For he was our teacher, right but he was always
<v Speaker 3>a sponsor for prom and helped with getting everything organized,
<v Speaker 3>you know, and he would go and get the donuts
<v Speaker 3>and bring them back and give them to everybody to
<v Speaker 3>take out and deliver.
<v Speaker 4>Them to whoever bottom.
<v Speaker 3>But yeah, we had it in our gym and it
<v Speaker 3>was really cool. You know, each year you would see,
<v Speaker 3>you know what the junior class, because a junior class
<v Speaker 3>would decorate for the senior class. That was kind of
<v Speaker 3>the the thing. But it was just neat to see
<v Speaker 3>the gym like completely.

<v Speaker 1>were just like so prommy you had that did you
<v Speaker 1>get did you get a corsage? Well? Yeah, that's got

<v Speaker 1>It was like an old Jelope.
<v Speaker 3>I remember one year. I can't remember it was junior
<v Speaker 3>or senior year, but I'll never forget this.
<v Speaker 4>Jason Daniels. His dad had a Corvette, like.
<v Speaker 3>A Man seventy nine maybe Corvette, and it was white.
<v Speaker 4>It was really pretty.
<v Speaker 3>But his dad let us have it for the night
<v Speaker 3>and everything was awesome. He picked me up, we went
<v Speaker 3>to the prom, and on his way home he like
<v Speaker 3>blew the engine up.
<v Speaker 1>Really yeah, it was just driving really fast.

<v Speaker 4>I wasn't there. He was on his way home after

<v Speaker 3>Everybody during quarantine had the same idea. They were like, Okay,
<v Speaker 3>we want to travel, we want to go. We're not
<v Speaker 3>having to work right now. We can work from wherever
<v Speaker 3>we want to if we are working. So let's get
<v Speaker 3>a camper. And there's no place for you to take
<v Speaker 3>your camper now, because everybody's got one. And that's that's
<v Speaker 3>what they're doing, is camping just because it's.
<v Speaker 1>Cheaper and it's cheap. It's fun. Man. I think people
<v Speaker 1>have really got they've they've really figured out, you know,
<v Speaker 1>how to how to be families again, you know, and
<v Speaker 1>just kind of do old old fashioned family things. I'm
<v Speaker 1>telling you, we got it. We've we've all gotten away
<v Speaker 1>from old fashioned family stuff. And I sound like a
<v Speaker 1>total old fart right now, but like we we so
<v Speaker 1>our family. We we have dinner every night together at
<v Speaker 1>a table, and we have no phones, none of that stuff.

<v Speaker 1>his favorite part of the day was, what he plans
<v Speaker 1>on doing, you know, and he talks about music and
<v Speaker 1>all these different things, his friends at school and how
<v Speaker 1>he played and everything. We have conversations and you know,
<v Speaker 1>because that's how that's how it was when I grew up.

<v Speaker 1>but we had family time dinner, oh yeah. And there's
<v Speaker 1>so many people that, you know, they just don't do
<v Speaker 1>that anymore. I don't know, maybe circumstantial, you know, someone

<v Speaker 1>you have any if you could just take the time
<v Speaker 1>and the effort to do that, man, it really changes
<v Speaker 1>your whole family unit. I really believe that.
