<v Speaker 1>Four Finger discounted series.
<v Speaker 2>Hey guys, welcome to Forefinger discount a very special episode
<v Speaker 2>of four figure DISCA.
<v Speaker 3>We've got some breaking news, don't we miss Davious?
<v Speaker 1>We do, indeed, Hot off the presses, fresh out of LA.
<v Speaker 2>Four more years, More Years, four more Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Well yeah, let's cut right to the chase. The Simpsons
<v Speaker 1>is going to go through till season forty. Yeah. And
<v Speaker 1>not just that, but animation is having a big day
<v Speaker 1>for animation, big day for Fox Animation. I might say people.
<v Speaker 2>Were really scared because Simpsons season thirty seven hadn't been
<v Speaker 2>a new year. Normally it's been announced by now when
<v Speaker 2>there's a new season of The Simpsons.
<v Speaker 3>And now I may go a little scoot.
<v Speaker 2>When I interviewed my man Michael Price several months ago
<v Speaker 2>last year and revealed that they're working on trios of
<v Speaker 2>horror for next year, and I'm thinking, well, they're not
<v Speaker 2>gonna be working on next year's Tres Borrow. They don't
<v Speaker 2>have word that they're probably going to get renewed. But
<v Speaker 2>of course I sort of put.
<v Speaker 3>That out there and they're like, no, it hasn't been
<v Speaker 3>announced yet, No, there's no official no. I was like, oh, okay,
<v Speaker 3>then we'll see what happens.
<v Speaker 1>Then it turns out trust you with a secret, good Lord.
<v Speaker 2>It turns out that season thirty seven through season forty
<v Speaker 2>has now been officially announced. But Nosy said not just
<v Speaker 2>the Simpsons, his family Guy, American Dad and Bobsberger's, which
<v Speaker 2>I think is fantastic news that Fox is still in
<v Speaker 2>Disney are committed to focusing on animation because they were
<v Speaker 2>worrying signs that season thirty seven might not be happening
<v Speaker 2>for the Simpsons, because I had been so since its announced.
<v Speaker 2>But officially here this is the first time to announced
<v Speaker 2>this many years in one go.
<v Speaker 1>It feels like a real sort of big swing, doesn't it. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>or just letting let everyone know that they have faith
<v Speaker 1>in animation in general and these properties in particular. To
<v Speaker 1>quote Michael Thorne, President of the Fox Television Network, this
<v Speaker 1>new deal celebrates the ternal popularity of these iconic comedies
<v Speaker 1>as well as the enduring, prolific relationship we continue to
<v Speaker 1>enjoy with our friends at twentieth twentieth television animation.
<v Speaker 3>It doesn't make sense, it doesn't read right.
<v Speaker 2>The twentieth television, No, the twentieth century television and twentieth television.
<v Speaker 1>It's just twentieth television. Yeah, yeah, but it.
<v Speaker 3>Doesn't roll at the time. Twentieth television, twentieth television.
<v Speaker 2>No, it's almost like twentieth century Fox is what comes
<v Speaker 2>off the times we're so used to saying it.
<v Speaker 1>It's like saying Dan Do and Guy rather than Guy
<v Speaker 1>and Dando. Yes, that go, and incredible voices behind these
<v Speaker 1>contemporary classics. So yes, a lot of faith, as I said,
<v Speaker 1>in these particular titles animation in general, are from the
<v Speaker 1>fine folks at Fox. So yes, yeah, it's gonna take
<v Speaker 1>Simpsons up to what's season forty, It'll be Bob Burger's
<v Speaker 1>up to season season nineteen to Bob's Burgers.
<v Speaker 3>That's me and season twenty seven of Family Guy. That
<v Speaker 3>says here as well.
<v Speaker 1>That is wild and your seasons twenty through twenty three
<v Speaker 1>of American Dad.
<v Speaker 2>You know what I've noticed here with all the marketing,
<v Speaker 2>they've gone Family Guy, Bob Bergers, and the Simpsons.
<v Speaker 3>Oh an American Dad, American Dad's pine. So why is
<v Speaker 3>that why?
<v Speaker 1>That's a really good question.
<v Speaker 2>On the X Reports and all the things it all said,
<v Speaker 2>Family Guy and the Simpsons and Bob's Burgers all the back. Oh,
<v Speaker 2>and an American dad as well. Well, why are you
<v Speaker 2>nies together?
<v Speaker 3>It doesn't make sense.
<v Speaker 1>American Dad has been going longer than Bob's.
<v Speaker 3>Burgers, bogs much better.
<v Speaker 1>That is absolutely true. But yeah, it's once again a
<v Speaker 1>case of animation domination. That was always the Fox slogan.
<v Speaker 3>Great great branding. That is animation domination.
<v Speaker 1>I haven't seen such a good case of branding since
<v Speaker 1>Daniel coppyrighted the name full Finger discap.
<v Speaker 2>Indeed, yes, so this year I think is very exciting news.
<v Speaker 2>I you're a Simpsons fan, Granted, there are a lot
<v Speaker 2>of people out there who don't watch Simpsons anymore, but
<v Speaker 2>this is just proof that there are people watching this show.
<v Speaker 2>If you want to be one of those listeners, one
<v Speaker 2>of those fans of the Simpsons that says should have
<v Speaker 2>should be canceled by now, this just goes to show
<v Speaker 2>to you that you're wrong. You're completely wrong, because Disney
<v Speaker 2>are not going to be investing for four more years
<v Speaker 2>or twentieth Television I can be investing four more years
<v Speaker 2>in this show if it wasn't bringing in viewers. There
<v Speaker 2>is still the most what show, one of the most
<v Speaker 2>what shows on Disney Plus. Granted that's based off a
<v Speaker 2>lot of the reruns as well the original episodes. But
<v Speaker 2>still I, as a Simpsons fan, will still put on
<v Speaker 2>a new episode of when I see it pop up
<v Speaker 2>on my feet, I'm like, okay, call another new Simpsons episode.
<v Speaker 2>A lot of them for me when a new season starts,
<v Speaker 2>I usually watched the first five or six, and then
<v Speaker 2>I wane for a while and then I just binge
<v Speaker 2>watched towards the end. But I think with today's modern
<v Speaker 2>viewing capabilities, with the streaming service of Disney Plus, we
<v Speaker 2>now get the episodes the same week. Never used to
<v Speaker 2>be that way in Australia, so now it's easier than
<v Speaker 2>ever to watch a new episode of The Simpsons. Whether
<v Speaker 2>this means that these episodes are going to be airing
<v Speaker 2>on Fox, it is for Fox, isn't It's.
<v Speaker 3>Not going to be going straight to streaming.
<v Speaker 1>I believe so.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, so it's for Fox.
<v Speaker 2>That's also exciting news because it means that they're not
<v Speaker 2>going to be moving the show to a Disney Plus exclusive.
<v Speaker 3>I thought when they started doing these.
<v Speaker 2>Recent Disney Plus exclusive episodes, I thought, is this the
<v Speaker 2>first sign of The Simpsons eventually being taken off TV
<v Speaker 2>and being just a Disney Plus exclusive show, which I
<v Speaker 2>hope never happened.
<v Speaker 1>I don't think they're ever going to do that, you
<v Speaker 1>don't think.
<v Speaker 3>I think they may, but maybe this has proved that
<v Speaker 3>they won't.
<v Speaker 2>Because if they're ever going to do it, it felt
<v Speaker 2>like now was the time.
<v Speaker 1>Oh absolutely, well, the ways, you know, the entertainment landscape
<v Speaker 1>is constantly shifting and constantly sort of being re evaluated. Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I mean it is show business after all, and you
<v Speaker 1>know they're looking for ways to sort of maximize their produits.
<v Speaker 1>I think they realize that The Simpsons not only has
<v Speaker 1>continued to have commercial viability, that's something that a lot
<v Speaker 1>of people really enjoy watching and really enjoy watching regularly
<v Speaker 1>and enjoy watching, you know, as say a family even then, Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>they'll want to keep it in a way that as
<v Speaker 1>many people can watch it as possible. I think they all.
<v Speaker 1>I think this also shows they have a lot of
<v Speaker 1>faith in it as a creative product. They realize that
<v Speaker 1>there's still there's still legs in it, there's still juice
<v Speaker 1>in the tank.
<v Speaker 2>I'm absolutely flabbergasted that Family Guy has last twenty seven seasons.
<v Speaker 3>Call me crazy. I've never been the biggest fan of
<v Speaker 3>Family Guy. But for them, even the.
<v Speaker 2>Same as American Dad, for these shows are still be existing,
<v Speaker 2>full credit to them.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, absolutely, it must be.
<v Speaker 3>People must still be watching these shows.
<v Speaker 2>And it's not just because they want to be able
<v Speaker 2>to say we have the Simpsons on our network. If
<v Speaker 2>they weren't bringing in viewers, they wouldn't be investing four
<v Speaker 2>more years in these in these licenses.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, I mean we're not just talking about Oh look,
<v Speaker 1>we're going to give you another nine episodes on the
<v Speaker 1>back end, just to see if people are still watching
<v Speaker 1>over four years a big commitment and four years before programs. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>it shows a commitment to animation and yeah, as we said,
<v Speaker 1>shows a real commitment to these programs and shows that, Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>there's still plenty of stories to be told, plenty of
<v Speaker 1>creative ground to be covered. So yeah, it's really very,
<v Speaker 1>very encouraging.
<v Speaker 2>I was really happy when I saw this news this morning.
<v Speaker 2>When I first thought and now Simpsons, I thought it's
<v Speaker 2>a cancelation. No, it's a cancelation. I for the first
<v Speaker 2>time in my life, I thought a Simpsons coming to
<v Speaker 2>an end news story was going to break. I thought,
<v Speaker 2>it feels like now might be the top they Simpsons
<v Speaker 2>isn't ending, it's just shifting the Disney. Plus, I'm just
<v Speaker 2>so thankful that they've got four more years, and while
<v Speaker 2>done to all the staff as well, We've got lots
<v Speaker 2>of friends that work on the show as well, so
<v Speaker 2>I'm so excited for them four more years of their jobs.
<v Speaker 3>It's just the Simpsons is a show that I hope
<v Speaker 3>never ends. Do you think the Simpsons will ever end?
<v Speaker 3>I don't think the Simpsons.
<v Speaker 2>Will ever end if they're still getting four more years now,
<v Speaker 2>I just can't see unless TV.
<v Speaker 3>There's twentieth Television that's it. I can't see the Simpsons ending.
<v Speaker 1>I think it's I think it's locked in for a
<v Speaker 1>fair while. Yeah, I think it's not going to be
<v Speaker 1>a case of The Simpsons being canceled so much as
<v Speaker 1>you just the way we take in entertainment changing as well.
<v Speaker 3>I think it's good for them.
<v Speaker 2>It's good for the writers too, because now they're safe
<v Speaker 2>in their gigs and they there's not this fear of
<v Speaker 2>will I won't I. So it's like they can just
<v Speaker 2>relax now and focus on producing quality writing content. You know,
<v Speaker 2>don't worry about you gig. You're safe. Pump Out Classic
<v Speaker 2>Simpsons again.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, just make good comedy, be more funny.
<v Speaker 3>Really what we're TV.
<v Speaker 1>And yeah, look all these shows, yeah, remain popular to
<v Speaker 1>some degree. Especially I'm looking into some figures here that
<v Speaker 1>in twenty twenty four, Family Guy and Bob's Burger's were
<v Speaker 1>among the two most streamed titles. This is according to
<v Speaker 1>US Metrics. Yeah, pulling in let's see forty two point
<v Speaker 1>forty four billion and thirty six point seventy nine billion
<v Speaker 1>minutes viewed, respectively. That's still a lot of minutes.
<v Speaker 2>You know what it is about Family Guy. Family Guy
<v Speaker 2>feels like this isn't putting it down Springles. It feels
<v Speaker 2>like jog food. So someone can put on, get a
<v Speaker 2>feelafs out of it and move on. Simpsons, you kind
<v Speaker 2>of know, it's more like a story you've got to commit.
<v Speaker 3>Family Guys.
<v Speaker 1>You feel like you put on gag, gag, gag, watch.
<v Speaker 2>Ten fifteen minutes of it and someone's like, yeah, I've
<v Speaker 2>had my fill, I've had my fix.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, you know, and I can move on with my day.
<v Speaker 1>But also you can lose it works yeah, and you
<v Speaker 1>can leave it on in the background and just you know,
<v Speaker 1>sort of it's not as story dependent as yeah, say
<v Speaker 1>something like the Simpsons. There are stories, but of course
<v Speaker 1>there are, but it's more sort of joke dependent. There's
<v Speaker 1>room for both, there's room.
<v Speaker 3>For all so an American Day.
<v Speaker 1>And there's also that for some reason, No, no, I
<v Speaker 1>mean American.
<v Speaker 2>Dad was the one I never really gravitated towards. I've
<v Speaker 2>got my uncle Darren Patron Saint, we call me at
<v Speaker 2>four figure Discount network.
<v Speaker 3>He loves Roger on America.
<v Speaker 2>And every one of these shows has their their Vender,
<v Speaker 2>you know, Vender's Future.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, all the Steward Futurama.
<v Speaker 2>For more seasons. But they're not on Fox anymore though either.
<v Speaker 1>They're on Hulu, I believe.
<v Speaker 2>So.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, but all these things are kind of intertwined and connected. Yes,
<v Speaker 1>But but the upshot is more of it's being made,
<v Speaker 1>and more of it is being made in an ongoing way.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, and it's exciting news for animation fans. But this
<v Speaker 2>has just been we thought we just do a little
<v Speaker 2>breaking news podcast here for you guys. If you are
<v Speaker 2>watching us on YouTube, please, if you are watching us

<v Speaker 1>the things that sort of went under the radar in
<v Speaker 1>this announcement as well. Fox's other animated series include Universal
<v Speaker 1>Basic Guys. Sorry, I'm watched an episode that's Universal Basic
<v Speaker 1>Guys's already got a season two and Kropopolis that's Dan
<v Speaker 1>Harmon all right, is it I here from community that
