<v Speaker 1>Welcome on into the bonus episode of the podcast today.
<v Speaker 2>Bonus bonus which a public a public bonus which sounds
<v Speaker 2>like something this feels weird for Yeah, I mean this
<v Speaker 2>whole thing feels dirty in general. But you don't want
<v Speaker 2>to go down for a public bonusing. You know it
<v Speaker 2>doesn't sound that, doesn't guys, Welcome on into the podcast today.
<v Speaker 2>Usually I would say something like, thank goodness, we're here
<v Speaker 2>with the good people. You know, my gosh, we're in
<v Speaker 2>our safe space with the best of the best that
<v Speaker 2>I only feels safe here so I can put down
<v Speaker 2>my hair. Oh this is you look there is down
<v Speaker 2>and you don't get my hair on the normal episode.
<v Speaker 2>Get free. The stress is off. We just talked the
<v Speaker 2>Patreons and and answer questions and oh my gosh, can
<v Speaker 2>you imagine being a Patreona man that gets your exclusive content?
<v Speaker 1>But unfortunately it's not that we're public today, so I
<v Speaker 1>need to sit up straight and do my damnedest. So
<v Speaker 1>welcome on into the podcast. It's beautiful. You already know
<v Speaker 1>about all of that. Thank you so much, Prof Rock
<v Speaker 1>for gifting five subs into the chat. Guys, are you
<v Speaker 1>ready for another episode today?
<v Speaker 2>Let's do it? Go for it and let me hit
<v Speaker 2>this button. This episode is all about the future of
<v Speaker 2>Nintendo and the Switch too. We just took a look
<v Speaker 2>at Zelda and broke down everything we'd like to see
<v Speaker 2>from them. But now I'd like to get not so
<v Speaker 2>in detail about one specific thing other than Nintendo in general,
<v Speaker 2>I guess, but going to Nintendo and what we would
<v Speaker 2>like to see from the company moving forward, and what
<v Speaker 2>we're concerned about, everything from e shop concerns, digital concerns,
<v Speaker 2>and if we think we're buying games that we're going
<v Speaker 2>to lose one day. Gamekey cuts is a big one
<v Speaker 2>that I want to talk about. There's big conversation around
<v Speaker 2>Final Fantasy vin right now. Yes that I really want
<v Speaker 2>to dive into that because I find it very interesting
<v Speaker 2>and our hopes and good stuff too. Yep, you guys
<v Speaker 2>have an idea. You're locked into your brains. What you
<v Speaker 2>want to talk about thinking about it? Yeah, Nintendo, good stuff,
<v Speaker 2>it's together. I think about some stuff for that, yeah, Sally,
<v Speaker 2>anything from.
<v Speaker 1>You, uh, you know, I would just I think Nintendo
<v Speaker 1>right now, they're just on a wave of you know,
<v Speaker 1>bringing a bunch of third party stuff to their console.
<v Speaker 1>It's nice to finally see them, you know, like being
<v Speaker 1>more like third.
<v Speaker 2>Party stuff is good, it's needed, but we also need
<v Speaker 2>first party stuff, you.
<v Speaker 1>Do, Yeah, I mean that's just how it is. I
<v Speaker 1>think we're at a point now with Nintendo that you're
<v Speaker 1>just gonna have to wait a while between like Triple
<v Speaker 1>A titles, you know, like three D Mario, Zelda Mario.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, we had a couple of Mario parties back
<v Speaker 1>to back.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, Well, if we're diving straight in, I should do
<v Speaker 2>this the main Quest exclusive. We don't have to do
<v Speaker 2>what we've been playing. We did that already. Yeah, so
<v Speaker 2>we can jump straight in. Do you mind if we
<v Speaker 2>start with the game key cut stuff? Yeah, go ahead?
<v Speaker 2>Or do you want to continue the thought of the
<v Speaker 2>first part the third party conversation? Because I do want
<v Speaker 2>to get back around there. We can get we can
<v Speaker 2>we cant cornerback? Okay? All right. So this was a
<v Speaker 2>tweet that I saw and I shared in our chat.
<v Speaker 2>It was from today actually, so uh, this is from
<v Speaker 2>Gankey Japan on Twitter. But it's uh, it's quoting Hamaguchi.
<v Speaker 2>Who could you guys look up who that is. I'm
<v Speaker 2>guessing it's the director of the games. I mean, I
<v Speaker 2>can't imagine who else it would be. But there's there's
<v Speaker 2>a bit of a wall of text here, but it's
<v Speaker 2>all relating to the game key cut situation, which is.
<v Speaker 1>A Japanese video game programmer and director for uh Square Enix.
<v Speaker 2>I'm guessing right now, or just find a Fantasy in
<v Speaker 2>general chat would probably also let me know I'm gonna start.
<v Speaker 1>Works for Yeah, he does a developer on Final Fantasy.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, so this is coming from a developer find of Fantasy.
<v Speaker 2>I wanted to clarify that because a lot of people
<v Speaker 2>in the in the comments are calling it cap A
<v Speaker 2>lot of people in regards to what he says, which
<v Speaker 2>we're going to read, they're like, just admit you didn't
<v Speaker 2>want to buy a physical sixty four gig car. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>but let's see what he says, because I don't think
<v Speaker 2>he has any reason to lie. And I think if
<v Speaker 2>a developer is telling you something interesting about the switch too,
<v Speaker 2>I think it's it pays to pay attention and understand
<v Speaker 2>why we have game key cuts in general from Nintendo. Right,
<v Speaker 2>So there's simply no way around the game key cuts
<v Speaker 2>in certain respects. He says, if you compare loading directly
<v Speaker 2>from a game cartridge containing all game data to loading
<v Speaker 2>from the intended switch to internal storage, the load speed
<v Speaker 2>difference is roughly double okay, So essentially what this is
<v Speaker 2>saying is when you have a game like Cyperpunk, for example,
<v Speaker 2>which is fully on the game card itself, when you
<v Speaker 2>stick it in, it doesn't do download to your console,
<v Speaker 2>so you're actually playing the game off the game cut
<v Speaker 2>and you're relying on that game cuts speeds for loading
<v Speaker 2>the game and running the game. So that is actually
<v Speaker 2>why those gamekey cuts are so expensive, because when you
<v Speaker 2>go out, you if you shoot on video cameras or whatever,
<v Speaker 2>and you want to get a really high speed card.
<v Speaker 2>For example, when I shoot my videos the cards I
<v Speaker 2>have to buy a really high speed so I can
<v Speaker 2>shoot four K on hundred and twenty frame stuff like that,
<v Speaker 2>and regular cards won't cut it. So of course some
<v Speaker 2>more expensive ones costs more. That's the same situation here.
<v Speaker 2>The carts have to keep up with the internal SSD
<v Speaker 2>of the console, which for the switch to now is
<v Speaker 2>pretty fast, right, so the gamekey carts have to keep up.
<v Speaker 2>So when you're running it off a gamekey cart like
<v Speaker 2>Cyberpunk does, you're actually relying on slower low times and
<v Speaker 2>slower rendering, which you can actually see over here from
<v Speaker 2>ninten Deal which put up this. I think it was
<v Speaker 2>them that did it. Somebody did testing on running a
<v Speaker 2>game like Mario Kart World on all these different cuts
<v Speaker 2>that you could buy from all these all the different
<v Speaker 2>SD cards you could buy, because you can also run
<v Speaker 2>a game off of an SD card that you go
<v Speaker 2>into a switch, right, the little mini one. So based
<v Speaker 2>on system storage, which is installed internally onto the console,
<v Speaker 2>based on all the different SD cards slotted into the console,
<v Speaker 2>and then on the game key cut, and you can
<v Speaker 2>see the game key cart is failing to keep up
<v Speaker 2>every single time. So system storage outwins every time. Yes,
<v Speaker 2>so system storage is always faster every single time, and
<v Speaker 2>in the case of Mario cart World, it's faster by
<v Speaker 2>like a good amount. I mean, seventeen compared to twenty five,
<v Speaker 2>which I don't know a math we confirmed last week.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know math, I don't think any of us,
<v Speaker 2>but I think that's like a twenty five percent less
<v Speaker 2>maybe thirty percent less performance you're getting there, So I
<v Speaker 2>mean what he said was roughly double, right, which a
<v Speaker 2>lot of people are calling that into question because they're like, oh, well,
<v Speaker 2>I mean Cyberpunk, you're looking at twenty eight and twenty one,
<v Speaker 2>so that's not double. But I think in these situations
<v Speaker 2>where these games are given a game key cut, I
<v Speaker 2>think that version of the game is developed to run
<v Speaker 2>on the game key cut. Yeah right, so then so
<v Speaker 2>if you nderstand what I mean by that, then if
<v Speaker 2>you take the game and you run it internally, it's
<v Speaker 2>still going to get faster speeds because it's going to
<v Speaker 2>run that gamekey cut version better and faster and quickly.
<v Speaker 2>But a game like Final Fantasy, they were like, there's
<v Speaker 2>just no way the carts fast enough. Like, we need
<v Speaker 2>to develop this for the internals of the hardware. Yes,
<v Speaker 2>so the only way we can provide you with a
<v Speaker 2>physical release is to do a gamekey cut. That is
<v Speaker 2>why gamekey cuts exist. Like I think a lot of
<v Speaker 2>people really just see them as a way of cheaping
<v Speaker 2>out because they cost nothing. Right, so game companies they
<v Speaker 2>think Nintendo is just offering these companies a way to
<v Speaker 2>cheap out. I think it really is, like, no, some
<v Speaker 2>of these games just can't fit on a gamekey cart.
<v Speaker 2>Now what like some of these other companies decide to
<v Speaker 2>do with that, like Final Fantasy obviously has decided, well,
<v Speaker 2>we were going to do it internally gamekey cut. Other
<v Speaker 2>companies might be like, well, we could do a physical
<v Speaker 2>and it would be fine, but a game key card
<v Speaker 2>is cheaper. I mean that's on them. Yeah, But I
<v Speaker 2>fully believe the Final Fantasy, especially when you see how
<v Speaker 2>good Rebirth looks and you're like, how is this running
<v Speaker 2>on the console? Because it's running on the console, because
<v Speaker 2>they really they developed it for the console, and they
<v Speaker 2>just didn't even try with a game key cart And
<v Speaker 2>I mean power to Cyberpunk. I mean that's awesome. I
<v Speaker 2>would be interested to see a version of that game
<v Speaker 2>that was developed with just the system in mind and
<v Speaker 2>not having to worry about a version that's on a
<v Speaker 2>game key cut, because maybe we could get even more
<v Speaker 2>out of it. I mean, you don't know. Could I
<v Speaker 2>throw a lot at you? There's more I want to
<v Speaker 2>read here, thoughts on that you want me to keep going,
<v Speaker 2>keep going from this? I think really interesting before we
<v Speaker 2>have the game key card situate the conversation to have
<v Speaker 2>kind of a reference point as to why they exist
<v Speaker 2>for some of these companies in the first place. So
<v Speaker 2>some have expressed concerns that multi platform development may impose
<v Speaker 2>constraints only on graphics but when it comes to game,
<v Speaker 2>but even on game design itself. However, this is precisely
<v Speaker 2>why we didn't choose cartridge. So what he's saying is
<v Speaker 2>that people will concern that his games or like Rebirth,
<v Speaker 2>would have constraints on the graphics, on the game design itself,
<v Speaker 2>as in like having to remove stuff from the game,
<v Speaker 2>you know, like assets, visuals, foliage, stuff like that. That's
<v Speaker 2>why they didn't use a cartridge. And if you compare
<v Speaker 2>the two games with like PlayStation five and Switch, there
<v Speaker 2>are some foliage taken out for Rebirth, a game not
<v Speaker 2>game explain who is A digital foundery did a comparison,
<v Speaker 2>but it was very minimal. There's still so much in
<v Speaker 2>the game that it's not super noticeable. And he's saying
<v Speaker 2>that's because they just didn't even mess with game cards.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>I tried it all. Yeah. Our game design isn't built
<v Speaker 2>around loading all data up front with nothing further being
<v Speaker 2>loaded afterwards. Even during gameplay, data is constantly swapped in
<v Speaker 2>and out, and giving that premise, the loading speed from
<v Speaker 2>a game cut would be inevitably insufficient, leading to stress
<v Speaker 2>for the player. In addition, with current available cartridge capacity,
<v Speaker 2>there is practical limitation that the full game data simply
<v Speaker 2>wouldn't fit in the first place. So there's two things here. One,
<v Speaker 2>I want to point out that every game is developed
<v Speaker 2>on a different engine and developed differently. No two people
<v Speaker 2>make a game the same way, right, So like when
<v Speaker 2>I edit a video, my timeline and the way I
<v Speaker 2>edit it is probably going to look completely different to
<v Speaker 2>the way that Sully edits a video, maybe even on
<v Speaker 2>a different editing software. It's the same with video games.
<v Speaker 2>So the way they make games apparently is very efficient,
<v Speaker 2>right the data is constantly switching out and they need
<v Speaker 2>really fast speeds for this. Whereas who knows how Cyberpunk's
<v Speaker 2>game was developed. Maybe it doesn't rely so heavily on
<v Speaker 2>those mechanics, and maybe it's more in tune with a
<v Speaker 2>gamekey card. I mean that game also was technically developed
<v Speaker 2>for last gen PlayStation four, even though it ran like
<v Speaker 2>crap and got pulled from it, you know, but it
<v Speaker 2>was technically developed for older hardware. And then the other
<v Speaker 2>thing is the size of it, which is another great
<v Speaker 2>point and I think we even mentioned it recently. The
<v Speaker 2>game is one hundred and five gigs, so what are
<v Speaker 2>you going to do either two sixty four gig gamekey
<v Speaker 2>carts and then not ganmekey cuts regular carts and switch
<v Speaker 2>between them, or have half of the game on it
<v Speaker 2>and then download the rest.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, isn't that but that's like what Sony and
<v Speaker 1>Xbox have been doing for Yes, And that's another great point.
<v Speaker 2>And I mean I think, I think, and I've talked
<v Speaker 2>about this on the podcast before, when Nintendo, I don't
<v Speaker 2>want to say went wrong, but whether they were honestly
<v Speaker 2>way more open and honest was calling these things gamekey
<v Speaker 2>cuts in the first place and putting branding all over
<v Speaker 2>them in the first place, because and I've mentioned this before,
<v Speaker 2>but Hogwarts Legacy and Call a Duty those are two
<v Speaker 2>examples on PlayStation five of discs that are shipped with
<v Speaker 2>one megabyte of data on them and then you have
<v Speaker 2>to download the rest of the game onto it. You
<v Speaker 2>don't actually have the game. But a lot of PlayStation
<v Speaker 2>five players and fans don't realize that's what's happening because
<v Speaker 2>the experience is kind of similar to any other experience
<v Speaker 2>where you put a disc in in stores to the
<v Speaker 2>hard drive or to the physical console and actually plays
<v Speaker 2>off the console. For almost every game. Yes, so a
<v Speaker 2>lot of people when they put in like Hogwarts and
<v Speaker 2>it kind of downloads some stuff and it does some stuff,
<v Speaker 2>they kind of think like the same thing is happening,
<v Speaker 2>and they have the game because no one's really told them, Hey,
<v Speaker 2>the game's not on here, but if you don't do
<v Speaker 2>that initial update, you can't play the game because you
<v Speaker 2>don't don't have every game. So this is happening on
<v Speaker 2>PlayStation five, this is happening everywhere else. Nintendo's just being
<v Speaker 2>really honest about it. Yeah. Also it's why.
<v Speaker 1>Well, I think it's also because Nintendo games were not
<v Speaker 1>known for being such like massive in terms of size.
<v Speaker 1>And then also because they're having a lot of third
<v Speaker 1>party ports coming over to Switch, you're gonna have to like,
<v Speaker 1>you know, yeah, install the game and then have the
<v Speaker 1>other half on the cart.
<v Speaker 2>It's another example of how cool the Switch two is
<v Speaker 2>in an unfortunate way. The Switch one was so underpowered
<v Speaker 2>and like pushed so far. I mean, look, I mean again,
<v Speaker 2>I compare it like a lot of third party games
<v Speaker 2>on that game on that console to this one. But
<v Speaker 2>you see releases like Final Fantasy and all of these
<v Speaker 2>games come over and they look incredible. We had similar
<v Speaker 2>exciting announcements on Switch one, which are three outer worlds,
<v Speaker 2>but then when we actually get them, they run and
<v Speaker 2>they look horrible.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, even Hogwarts Legacy, even Hogwarts Legacy, it looks horrible. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>because the console just can't keep up. It doesn't have
<v Speaker 1>the SSD, doesn't have the right speeds, and like, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>you can put the games on the full cart, but
<v Speaker 1>they're still going to run bad because everything's just slow.
<v Speaker 2>Exactly. The Switch to excelled and it blew past the
<v Speaker 2>Switch one as far as its limitations and what it
<v Speaker 2>can do. There's a lot of really cool new hardware
<v Speaker 2>in it that does the AI up scaling, allowing for
<v Speaker 2>smaller file sizes to be blown up the larger sizes,
<v Speaker 2>and the SSD obviously the fast right speeds, so you
<v Speaker 2>get those crazy fast load times. I didn't talk about
<v Speaker 2>this with Mario Tennis, but you you click Mario Tennis
<v Speaker 2>on the home screen, you're in the game two seconds later,
<v Speaker 2>like it's nuts.
<v Speaker 1>Mario catt World is very similar, very quick. It is
<v Speaker 1>with three D World and Boles just fury. I remember
<v Speaker 1>loading it up on Twitches for the first time. It's
<v Speaker 1>like I blink and I'll call like I was not expecting.
<v Speaker 2>And that's the SSD and that's what you're asking these
<v Speaker 2>gamekey cuts to keep up with, which just isn't feasible.
<v Speaker 1>For an affordable Nintendo made a terriby storage option for
<v Speaker 1>the Switch to like base because like, yeah, we have
<v Speaker 1>like fifty six which is like three games.
<v Speaker 2>If you're thinking about it, that's definitely a conversation that
<v Speaker 2>needs to be had. The thing is with those terribides
<v Speaker 2>are even two terroribies. They're so expensive. I mean literally,
<v Speaker 2>you're spending five hundred bucks on an SD card. You're
<v Speaker 2>doubling the price of your console. But it feels so
<v Speaker 2>necessary at this point because you're right, is it really expensive? Someone?
<v Speaker 1>It's pretty exp Let me look it up. There's no
<v Speaker 1>way they're spending because I'm sure in bulk.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, we should have cut to the line for that.
<v Speaker 2>The way that you came in was so good. Recreate
<v Speaker 2>the speed too, Okay, that was how it was. My
<v Speaker 2>laptop's dying. Oh yeah, I don't know. I'm plugged. Oh wait,
<v Speaker 2>it's my fault.
<v Speaker 3>No, we just an excuse to see Pat, guys, that's
<v Speaker 3>all right, shut out Pat.
<v Speaker 1>Oh he's so fast cut the wide Superman.
<v Speaker 2>Can we have this be a thing where you do that?
<v Speaker 2>When I yelled Pat say I love you. That was
<v Speaker 2>a really funny moment with Pat when I was leaving
<v Speaker 2>the room before because I stood up to go pee
<v Speaker 2>and then Sully goes, oh, you actually did pee yourself.
<v Speaker 2>And the second I woke out there, Pats looking at
<v Speaker 2>my crutch expecting to see a piece, staying like, don't
<v Speaker 2>look down there, it's fine, I haven't peed. This is
<v Speaker 2>what you miss on the bonus of course, Yeah, this
<v Speaker 2>is this is fun. You guys got to check out
<v Speaker 2>for the bonus episodes.
<v Speaker 1>I don't remember where we were at, so we were
<v Speaker 1>at the storage space. So somebody says, it's five hundred
<v Speaker 1>dollars for a four terrible SSD for Xbox.
<v Speaker 2>That's four terribytes before terribyts. Yeah, but we're talking about
<v Speaker 2>little baby, which actually they cost more to get that
<v Speaker 2>in a time. Because you're talking about getting four terribytes
<v Speaker 2>like this as opposed to two terabytes like this. That's
<v Speaker 2>a different conversation.
<v Speaker 1>Like for example, like phones, you know, this is a
<v Speaker 1>terrriby iPhone probably is like very small, but like Apple's
<v Speaker 1>charging you like essentially one hundred dollars per one one
<v Speaker 1>twenty eight gigs.
<v Speaker 2>You can show my screen prove, so I guess it
<v Speaker 2>makes sense. Oh wow, that's a two terribyte SD card?
<v Speaker 2>Is it smaller?
<v Speaker 4>Micro remember reminder too? Yeah, you also have to get expressed, yes,
<v Speaker 4>especially micro SD cards. Now for THEE that's honestly the
<v Speaker 4>price range you're looking at, you're doubling the price of
<v Speaker 4>the switch to get.
<v Speaker 1>Like with this Steam Deck, how much storage does that
<v Speaker 1>usually come with the option?
<v Speaker 2>I think there is a terabyte option, yes, So baking
<v Speaker 2>it in internally is usually more afford ball on our
<v Speaker 2>end when they do that, and my it usually raises
<v Speaker 2>the price of the console tho for sure. Like you know,
<v Speaker 2>like when the WEU came out, you can cut away
<v Speaker 2>when the way it came out there was the white
<v Speaker 2>version of the black version, they were like fifty bucks
<v Speaker 2>apart or one hundred bucks apart.
<v Speaker 1>It was like a fifty It was fifty at least.
<v Speaker 1>The only difference was color and storage size. Yeah, eight
<v Speaker 1>and thirty two, So you know how much storage does
<v Speaker 1>the switch to have? Two hundred and fifty six? That's it,
<v Speaker 1>That's what I'm saying yeah, Okay, half a gig would
<v Speaker 1>be much better. That's what I'm saying, Like they definitely
<v Speaker 1>skimped out with that because it's like you buy two
<v Speaker 1>three third party games.
<v Speaker 2>That's it a lot.
<v Speaker 1>I guess they're really relying on people buying the SD cards,
<v Speaker 1>which you know, yeah, as you're saying, I actually saw
<v Speaker 1>someone they shared a screenshot they had they had Final Fantasy.
<v Speaker 2>They had uh like a like a w W two
<v Speaker 2>K game, and then like a bait like the soccer
<v Speaker 2>game or something, and then one more and it was
<v Speaker 2>four hundred and fifty gigs for exactly that's like double
<v Speaker 2>the hard drive. You can't you could fit one into that.
<v Speaker 2>I'm actually deleting games constantly on the switch to I
<v Speaker 2>feel like I barely ever had to do it on
<v Speaker 2>switching one. I had so many games on my hard drive.
<v Speaker 2>I got the Resident Evils seven and eight today, and
<v Speaker 2>as soon as I went to download them, they were like, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>you've got to install a bunch of stuff. You don't
<v Speaker 2>have it as D card in your switch. Yeah yeah,
<v Speaker 2>whatever one is.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, Yeah, there's just so much on that's just
<v Speaker 1>like where we're moving towards right now with like games
<v Speaker 1>and storage space. So at this point we're going to
<v Speaker 1>need two terabytes like Micro's D cards.
<v Speaker 2>Honestly, one terabyte is fine. I mean you would still
<v Speaker 2>have to juggle a little bit, so like not nearly
<v Speaker 2>as bad. And most people I think wouldn't have to juggle.
<v Speaker 2>I think most like generic game is that the casual
<v Speaker 2>like five to ten games. Yeah, I don't know what
<v Speaker 2>what I mean. I have like a thousand, so it's hard,
<v Speaker 2>but I think a normal person is like five to
<v Speaker 2>ten right. Possibly.
<v Speaker 3>I saw someone else like mentioned that at least for
<v Speaker 3>Xbox they used to do and PlayStation they external hard drives,
<v Speaker 3>but those are hard drives, they weren't SSD's.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I don't think hard drive is not an ss Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>I don't think Nintendo would want to do anything. I
<v Speaker 2>don't external for a portable console makes no sense. Ah,
<v Speaker 2>that makes no sense.
<v Speaker 3>They'd be like, you know how like Apple has like
<v Speaker 3>the Vision Pro and like you have to have like
<v Speaker 3>that battery thing. I'd be like that you have to
<v Speaker 3>have like a like an external stores thing in your pocket.
<v Speaker 2>I mean even like so so when I play my
<v Speaker 2>viture glasses, which I so last night when I found
<v Speaker 2>out sub Nautica was on Switch, I was like, oh
<v Speaker 2>my god. I ran to bed and I put my
<v Speaker 2>I put my my glasses are on my nightstand. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>I put on my Viger glasses to play, and it
<v Speaker 2>looks so good. But you have to have this giant
<v Speaker 2>pack essentially to make them work. Yeah, and even that, like,
<v Speaker 2>it's so cumbersome, which is why I typically just have
<v Speaker 2>like a space where I play with the glasses because
<v Speaker 2>I don't like taken the pack. Everybody, you can't, it's
<v Speaker 2>too much. Yeah, there's more to this article too. We
<v Speaker 2>can dive into. Oh Man. However, as long as we
<v Speaker 2>secure the high speed storage right read speeds such as
<v Speaker 2>SSD or UFS on Switch to the design we're aiming
<v Speaker 2>for becomes achievable within the scope of optimization for each platform.
<v Speaker 2>For the third game in the trilogy, we're proceeding with
<v Speaker 2>development with the goal of delivering a large scale experience
<v Speaker 2>similar to Final Fantasy seven Rebirth. So please rest as
<v Speaker 2>short on that point in the past, when we faced
<v Speaker 2>with practical issues related to load speeds and storage capacity
<v Speaker 2>we couldn't resolve, we had to decide not to release
<v Speaker 2>on Nintendo systems. However, the Switch two's performance is impressive,
<v Speaker 2>and with the key cut format like Final Fantasy seven remake,
<v Speaker 2>releasing the games became possible. I believe the only thing
<v Speaker 2>I can do is continue to sincerely communicate that fact
<v Speaker 2>to users. It really is. I'm gonna read this final
<v Speaker 2>bit too. I have absolutely no intention of demanding that
<v Speaker 2>all gamers accept game key cards. I would simply be
<v Speaker 2>happy if people could understand that they are games that
<v Speaker 2>could only be released because key card format made it possible.
<v Speaker 2>So this is clearly coming from someone who might be
<v Speaker 2>a little bit frustrated because they've probably got a ton
<v Speaker 2>of backlash over using a game key card because they're
<v Speaker 2>being called cheap, like cheaping out, or like skimping out
<v Speaker 2>on fans, or not wanting to actually give the fans
<v Speaker 2>the game, and so many other things. And they're probably
<v Speaker 2>hearing all of this and being like, if it wasn't
<v Speaker 2>for game key card, it wouldn't even have happened. I
<v Speaker 2>think the way that we broke it down and I
<v Speaker 2>tried to flesh it out and explain it highlights that
<v Speaker 2>that I don't think he's lying. I think he's being
<v Speaker 2>one hundred percent honest. I mean, I don't know if
<v Speaker 2>saying double the speed is is being a little bit
<v Speaker 2>over exaggerating. But again, I don't think you can directly
<v Speaker 2>compare it to examples that we have like Cyberpunk, because
<v Speaker 2>again those games were developed with the game key card
<v Speaker 2>in mind, and the internals for the console are just
<v Speaker 2>running that game key cut version a little faster, which
<v Speaker 2>is still highlighting that it does it faster. This he's
<v Speaker 2>literally saying that for our game, gamekey game card wasn't
<v Speaker 2>an option, but using the internals, we could give you
<v Speaker 2>an experience without compromising.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, but they're still making the game key card right. Well, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>they did the gamekeep we opened the bust to pack all.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that's what and they're doing it again for the
<v Speaker 2>second one, and they they're going to do it for
<v Speaker 2>the third one. I mean, I feel like.
<v Speaker 1>If I was in that situation where I'd have to
<v Speaker 1>choose between a game key card or just download, I
<v Speaker 1>just download. It just saves you the trouble of having
<v Speaker 1>a switch out or like take up that slide.
<v Speaker 2>Well. The cool thing that they're doing too, I mean
<v Speaker 2>people are like calling them out for cheapen out, but
<v Speaker 2>they gave me a free booster pack. They didn't have
<v Speaker 2>to give it right right, and then for the next one,
<v Speaker 2>I'll have to find it. You cut away, and it's
<v Speaker 2>not super important, you can cut away. They way done
<v Speaker 2>with that that. They have another card in their exclusive
<v Speaker 2>Zach Magic, the Gathering Card, and I think a couple
<v Speaker 2>extra trinkets in there too, So they're actually actively giving
<v Speaker 2>us stuff that no one else is, yeah, for free,
<v Speaker 2>for free, but you know, the game's forty dollars or whatever.
<v Speaker 2>I think that's is going to be fifty. So like,
<v Speaker 2>I don't think they're cheaping out at all. I think
<v Speaker 2>if anything, they're offering and giving us an experience a
<v Speaker 2>lot of other people aren't offering, while also giving us
<v Speaker 2>some goodies in with what we're buying if we buy
<v Speaker 2>it physical. Yeah, and I guess I did say cut away,
<v Speaker 2>but they're go ahead and cut back. I'm sorry. There
<v Speaker 2>are a bunch of comments here that say that, uh.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, this one does point out, let's stop pretending
<v Speaker 2>PlayStation five doesn't install data on the Hunt, right, it
<v Speaker 2>really is. Unfortunately, the twenty eight comments, I bet you
<v Speaker 2>people are hating on him for most likely I mean,
<v Speaker 2>this one says that's bs when cyberpunk runs fine and like,
<v Speaker 2>I don't blame people for seeing that and thinking like,
<v Speaker 2>but Cyberpunk does it. But then, like what I've tried
<v Speaker 2>to explain is he is in a very big paragraph
<v Speaker 2>that you probably didn't take the time to read, is
<v Speaker 2>explaining to you why this is different to Cyberpunk. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>like why this is different to a game that can
<v Speaker 2>use a game key cut. And I think it does
<v Speaker 2>make complete sense. But unfortunately people will take examples like
<v Speaker 2>Cyberpunk and use it as a one for one when
<v Speaker 2>games just on a one for one exactly. And what
<v Speaker 2>comes to mind for me is like you compare even
<v Speaker 2>like just I know there might be a small part
<v Speaker 2>of it, but even like the cut scenes between the
<v Speaker 2>two games, for Cyberpunk versus like Final Fantasy cut scenes
<v Speaker 2>like those are so detailed. Yeah, those are pretty much
<v Speaker 2>I mean it's a cinematic. That's why they have avan
<v Speaker 2>children is because looks the cut singe itself is just
<v Speaker 2>so like detailed and fluent, So you are going to
<v Speaker 2>need extra space for that. I mean, I agree. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>and both cyber and both Cyberpunk and Final Fantasy remake
<v Speaker 2>with PlayStation four games, right, yes, yes, yes, the remake
<v Speaker 2>looks almost identical to the PS four better than the
<v Speaker 2>PS four version, if not identical with the Piers PlayStation
<v Speaker 2>five version. Cyberpunk looks great for the console, but it's
<v Speaker 2>definitely making compromises, especially the PlayStation five version, And maybe
<v Speaker 2>they wouldn't had to have made so many compromises if
<v Speaker 2>it wasn't a game key cut they were to do
<v Speaker 2>the game key card. Now the conversation is, would you
<v Speaker 2>rather have it on a game key cut so that
<v Speaker 2>you have it physical and keep it forever, or would
<v Speaker 2>you have rather they not a game key cut I'm
<v Speaker 2>getting my words confused cartridge and actual cartridge so that
<v Speaker 2>you have it physically you get to keep it forever.
<v Speaker 2>Or would you or rather they had done a gamekey cut,
<v Speaker 2>like fin of Fantasy, if the game had looked way
<v Speaker 2>closer to the PlayStation five version, maybe even running a
<v Speaker 2>better frames that. Yeah, I think that's where you get
<v Speaker 2>really specific with what people want.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, because I feel like a lot of the controversy
<v Speaker 1>behind the game key cards is like you still don't
<v Speaker 1>physically own the game, Like yeah, it's like still digitally owned.
<v Speaker 2>Like what do you want to own? Do you want
<v Speaker 2>to own a slightly worset version of the.
<v Speaker 1>Game, or I think for people that are about like
<v Speaker 1>you know, electing collect they would probably compromise, and probably
<v Speaker 1>because it's at the end of the day, just about
<v Speaker 1>having the physical copy. Yeah, wishes are sorry real quick too.
<v Speaker 1>I feel like, at least for the switch to and
<v Speaker 1>even for other like mediums of media, I feel like
<v Speaker 1>the discussion over like physical like at least having it
<v Speaker 1>like and not being on a streaming service, not being
<v Speaker 1>a cloud version, not being like yeah, a key card
<v Speaker 1>or anything. I feel like that discussion has gotten so
<v Speaker 1>much more rampant the more a lot of these third
<v Speaker 1>party games, and even like I know we might talk
<v Speaker 1>about later, like for Pocopia, that's a game key card
<v Speaker 1>as well.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that's baffling because that's Nintendo. Why and exactly so
<v Speaker 2>are you now saying that as Nintendo now exploring this
<v Speaker 2>to make larger games because of that or is it
<v Speaker 2>just because well, maybe let's try it out see what
<v Speaker 2>people think. I think that's I think the nintender. I
<v Speaker 2>think the Nintendo were like, I don't know what the
<v Speaker 2>expression I'm looking for is, but Nintendo have offered this
<v Speaker 2>to third party companies and there's been a lot of
<v Speaker 2>complaints and there's been a lot of like backlash. So
<v Speaker 2>I think Nintendo, I wish I knew what the expression
<v Speaker 2>is I'm looking for, but I think they're like eating
<v Speaker 2>their own pie. I mean, that's not what I was
<v Speaker 2>looking for. They're like, well, we'll do it and we'll
<v Speaker 2>see It'll be like the dummy the test. Yeah, They'll
<v Speaker 2>be like, we'll do it and we'll see if it
<v Speaker 2>makes an actual difference. Okay. So I think they probably
<v Speaker 2>have their own projections for what that game will sell,
<v Speaker 2>and they're probably testing to see what a game key
<v Speaker 2>cut will sell life first, and they're doing it on
<v Speaker 2>a on a spin off random Polkopa game.
<v Speaker 1>I remember too, like when the whole game key cart
<v Speaker 1>was like a thing and people were talking about it.
<v Speaker 1>I feel like a lot of people were highlighting the
<v Speaker 1>fact that maybe Nintendo was doing this for their titles
<v Speaker 1>because they're trying to prevent people from like dumping the
<v Speaker 1>games online, because that happens with pretty much every Triple
<v Speaker 1>A Nintendo game, like Kids of the Kingdom. People had
<v Speaker 1>that game literally a month month over a month before
<v Speaker 1>the game came out, you know.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, and same with like Brothership, like Mario Bros. Wonder
<v Speaker 2>and people were running it.
<v Speaker 1>On emulators, So having a gamekey card will essentially eliminate,
<v Speaker 1>you know, people having access to the game. I mean
<v Speaker 1>that's true. If it leaks early, they just won't be
<v Speaker 1>able to download. Yeah, it's true, it'd be impossible. So
<v Speaker 1>then everybody is going to have to essentially play it
<v Speaker 1>on day one officially, whether you like it or not.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I mean that's true. I don't show how much
<v Speaker 2>they care about that when all their games are on
<v Speaker 2>full cuts. They don't care. I don't know much they
<v Speaker 2>care about third potty stuff leaking. Yeah, but it definitely
<v Speaker 2>does prevent that. Well if in the future they were
<v Speaker 2>to move putting there for party title.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, at some point, that's the way it's going
<v Speaker 1>to be, because if they did that today or like
<v Speaker 1>with the launch of switch To, they would have gotten
<v Speaker 1>so much backlash, you know, like if Mario Car World
<v Speaker 1>or don Kun came out on it.
<v Speaker 2>That's true, they would be interesting. At some point, that's
<v Speaker 2>the way it's going to be.
<v Speaker 1>So it's like psychologically conditioning you right now to like
<v Speaker 1>accept it real quick too.
<v Speaker 3>I'm not an actress point out that's actually GAMEPREK that's
<v Speaker 3>actually using is publishing it. So game three, Pokemon Company.
<v Speaker 3>They're the ones, not Intel themselves, who are actively trying. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>but Nintendo owns thirty three percent of trips how Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>I think they were.
<v Speaker 2>Probably if Nintendo were like, we want to do a
<v Speaker 2>gamekey cut for this game, Freak would probably be like, okay,
<v Speaker 2>just publishing it. That's true. Yeah, makes sense. Yeah. I
<v Speaker 2>think I was going to say something about what you
<v Speaker 2>were saying the leagues. No, it was before that. I
<v Speaker 2>can't remember what it was. I think what this situation
<v Speaker 2>with Final Fantasy seven in particular, it's it is no
<v Speaker 2>different to the PlayStation five situation, Like it feels like
<v Speaker 2>it is, but it's not because you still have to
<v Speaker 2>you still have to dump everything on the console, right
<v Speaker 2>like the play But the Final Fantasy seven, No, I
<v Speaker 2>guess the data are on the discs and then you
<v Speaker 2>play the instil disc. So other than like updates, I
<v Speaker 2>guess you would have the game. It's just a it's
<v Speaker 2>just an interesting conversation to me to think about what
<v Speaker 2>you would rather between having it on a cartridge if
<v Speaker 2>it performs and looks a little worse, to having it
<v Speaker 2>digital because there are legitimate concerns about digital and like
<v Speaker 2>the shop and everything and then losing all these games eventually.
<v Speaker 2>But that is the way that it's going. It's going
<v Speaker 2>to be all digital at some point.
<v Speaker 1>Like this is argue that physical cartridges will start eroding,
<v Speaker 1>Like one of my friends was telling me about that,
<v Speaker 1>like a few weeks ago. He was like saying, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>physical cartridges, but also like the sun could explode. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>you know, we can get wiped out exactly, so there's
<v Speaker 1>no way of like actually retaining.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, well you have the yeah until they all yeah,
<v Speaker 3>what's it called, like yeah, uh dissolve or yea, even
<v Speaker 3>like with like discs too, like yeah, some people are
<v Speaker 3>saying like, oh, if it's not being read properly or
<v Speaker 3>because the disc is like losing you know, part of
<v Speaker 3>what makes it run.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, I mean like it is, it's just all
<v Speaker 2>going huh Okay, I mean that's the episode, but I
<v Speaker 2>want to keep going. Well now, okay, this whole episode
<v Speaker 2>has been about gamekey cut, So I feel like we
<v Speaker 2>wanted to change the title and thumbnail Yeah home today
<v Speaker 2>because I'm not sure if we're going to get to everything.
<v Speaker 2>Oh thank you, Zella. I appreciate the ten because we
<v Speaker 2>probably should wrap up because people have to go home.
<v Speaker 2>I guess the final thing I'll say is like everything
<v Speaker 2>is going digital and at some point we're just going
<v Speaker 2>to have to accept it. And I feel like a
<v Speaker 2>lot of people are like that. They panic because I
<v Speaker 2>think they're going to lose it, right, that they're going
<v Speaker 2>to get pulled from stores, and like, we don't. I
<v Speaker 2>don't know what that's really going to look like twenty
<v Speaker 2>thirty forty years from now, when like the Nintendo E
<v Speaker 2>Shop store closes down and we lose all these games
<v Speaker 2>because like, yeah, I mean, I guess that's what's unless
<v Speaker 2>they keep it going. I mean, like I had games
<v Speaker 2>on my Wii that I are gone, I guess, right,
<v Speaker 2>Like I bought them on the Wii Shop back in
<v Speaker 2>but if you didn't download them, they're gone forever.
<v Speaker 1>I guess they are, right, Like I mean, yeah, can
<v Speaker 1>I get back online on my key and that's impossible?
<v Speaker 2>Okay, then like yeah, I get I get you even
<v Speaker 2>the three Uh.
<v Speaker 3>I remember that whole craze everyone's trying to download the
<v Speaker 3>games that could to like the.
<v Speaker 2>One YouTube everything on the Yeah. Yeah, everyone was like that. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>And we had him on the podcast the week that
<v Speaker 2>he did that. Okay, we interviewed him, and it's actually
<v Speaker 2>one of our most viewed episodes.
<v Speaker 1>Wow, it was very ambitious thing. Thousands, it was really cool.
<v Speaker 1>The Internet loved him at that moment, and he was
<v Speaker 1>still like the goat. He was the goat in that moment.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I don't know what's going to happen in the future,
<v Speaker 2>but I mean I know, like a lot of games
<v Speaker 2>obviously like Final Fantasy, as far as like Preservation, I mean,
<v Speaker 2>those games are always going to be available for us
<v Speaker 2>to buy and play because the company is always going
<v Speaker 2>to want the option of like making money off them
<v Speaker 2>just throw them away. But as far as like in
<v Speaker 2>forty years from now, we will be able to redownload
<v Speaker 2>Final Fantasy seven Rebirth using a game key cut, I
<v Speaker 2>don't know. And I mean historically I would say no, yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>So I mean that in that case, in forty years,
<v Speaker 2>if you were to ask me, would you rather have
<v Speaker 2>just had it on a game key cut so you
<v Speaker 2>could play it now even if it looked worse, I'd go, well,
<v Speaker 2>I guess because i'd have the option. Actually, you'd have
<v Speaker 2>the physical Whereas right now, I'm like, I don't know,
<v Speaker 2>if you're telling me, I get sixty frames a set
<v Speaker 2>of thirty. I'll probably take the sixty three magic cards
<v Speaker 2>and free magic guns. I think they'll defense. But Okay,
<v Speaker 2>the plan really was to talk about that other stuff,
<v Speaker 2>but I found this conversation so interesting we kind of
<v Speaker 2>got lost in it. So maybe we should just make
<v Speaker 2>this episode like the concerning future of gankey Cuts and
<v Speaker 2>digital preservations free it is, it's just very gankey Cut focused,
<v Speaker 2>so I might rebrand it a little if you're if
<v Speaker 2>you're watching this after the fact, the thumbnail entitle was
<v Speaker 2>more like generic Nintendo. But we didn't quite get into
<v Speaker 2>all of it. But maybe next week we can dive
<v Speaker 2>into some of that more in the main episode so
<v Speaker 2>everyone can see it. Of Course, for now we have
<v Speaker 2>to have Sully's games because game for this week, we
<v Speaker 2>do have to do this. Okay, Hey, those these animations
<v Speaker 2>were really quiet last week. I forgot to mention. I
<v Speaker 2>don't know if you boosted them, but they might need
<v Speaker 2>to be boosted. Was it because it was too loud
<v Speaker 2>on stream? Maybe? Ah, so well, I think we overcorrected.
<v Speaker 3>It's quiet for them, but or sorry, it's quite for us,
<v Speaker 3>but it's like normal volume for them right now, is
<v Speaker 3>what I'm here last week.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, last week it was very quiet for them. If
<v Speaker 2>it's loud for us. If it's like loud for us,
<v Speaker 2>it's like, we got to figure that out because I
<v Speaker 2>like it to blast in here for sure.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, So it's actually quite fitting that this week is
<v Speaker 1>Zelda's fortieth anniversary. Today's show is going to be would
<v Speaker 1>blindly ranking ten Zelda games, but out random.
<v Speaker 2>So I have fifteen Zelda games. Oh yeah, Oh you
<v Speaker 2>should have told me this is what it was. See
<v Speaker 2>you had the pee bro. I'm sorry. I would have
<v Speaker 2>suffered if I know it was Zelda themed, I would
<v Speaker 2>have suffered. My god, bad. Well, we're still public. It's
<v Speaker 2>the public.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's public. Everybody's still here. You know, we got
<v Speaker 1>like seven hundred people watching. So I gotta say, I
<v Speaker 1>saw your ranking video beat him ups for Zelda, and
<v Speaker 1>then I saw you did also one with.
<v Speaker 2>Bob on the Nontendo podcast. Yeah, let's not talk about
<v Speaker 2>that one. Yeah, I'm still mad about that one. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Well, anyways, the idea was to give you ten games
<v Speaker 1>that I think like the time, and then I was
<v Speaker 1>gonna have you ranking, But I'm like that's a little
<v Speaker 1>too generic because you're gonna wait for the best ones
<v Speaker 1>and then put them. Yeah, I would already know where
<v Speaker 1>they would go exactly. So that's why I have fifteen games.
<v Speaker 1>And then I had Chad GPT randomize one through fifteen.
<v Speaker 2>And tell them that they'll hate you, yeah, and then
<v Speaker 2>give me ten. Ten did not use chat He's lying,
<v Speaker 2>he did not.
<v Speaker 1>You guys don't like Chad GPT. Okay, they might not
<v Speaker 1>like chat jee chat here may not. I hate chat GPT. Okay, Well,
<v Speaker 1>I had Night randomized on my side.
<v Speaker 2>I didn't wait so finished. So how did Night randomize them?
<v Speaker 2>Just so?
<v Speaker 1>He took one through fifteen and then he just start
<v Speaker 1>gave me ten number between fifteen rounders. Yeah, okay, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>all right, so the first one is going to be
<v Speaker 1>number twelve, so I have to count to twelve. So
<v Speaker 1>this is fifteen, fourteen, thirteen, twelve.
<v Speaker 2>Okay.
<v Speaker 1>So ooh the legend of Zelda's Phantom hour Glass.
<v Speaker 2>That's a straight up ten, my guy, a straight up ten.
<v Speaker 2>I see, I knew, yeah you done. I hate that game.
<v Speaker 2>You were hanging on these. I hate that game. I
<v Speaker 2>legitimately hate that game like I It upsets me how
<v Speaker 2>bad it is. Yeah, that game. There's one. I don't
<v Speaker 2>like it the way they set it up for so
<v Speaker 2>many reasons. It's not even the controls. I don't mind
<v Speaker 2>the controls. Actually, there's a couple of there's a couple
<v Speaker 2>of parts of this game I'll give it credit for,
<v Speaker 2>and I'll talk about that in a second and rant
<v Speaker 2>for way too long. I don't like that it's based
<v Speaker 2>around one big dungeon and you have to leave and
<v Speaker 2>then go back and leave and go back, and every
<v Speaker 2>time you go back you can do a little bit
<v Speaker 2>more of the dungeon. But for whatever reason, whenever I
<v Speaker 2>do it, I get lost all the time I'm backtracking
<v Speaker 2>through the same part of the dungeon I've already done.
<v Speaker 2>It just sucks. The whole game sucks. I hate the
<v Speaker 2>whole game. But I did like that. I got stuck
<v Speaker 2>on a puzzle for a long time when I was
<v Speaker 2>a kid, because you were supposed to like imprint on
<v Speaker 2>a map somehow, and I couldn't figure out how to
<v Speaker 2>do it. And I remember like trying for like an hour,
<v Speaker 2>and I was getting so mad. I was like, I
<v Speaker 2>don't know how to do this. So I closed my
<v Speaker 2>DS to give up, and I opened it and it
<v Speaker 2>had imprinted.
<v Speaker 1>The Yeah, yeah, and I was like, oh, that's actually awesome,
<v Speaker 1>that's so cool.
<v Speaker 2>You Also there was torches. You have to blow them
<v Speaker 2>out by blowing it into the mic. Yep, it was
<v Speaker 2>kind of fun too. Yeah. Anyways, next up we have
<v Speaker 2>the original legend of Zelda.
<v Speaker 1>I mean it started at all, right, it is. It
<v Speaker 1>is the game that starts. I've never played this game honestly, so.
<v Speaker 2>You gonna beat it in ten minutes if you know
<v Speaker 2>what you do really, otherwise it's like an hour for
<v Speaker 2>a normal playthrough. It's the funny thing is about that
<v Speaker 2>game is that game was, and this is gonna sound
<v Speaker 2>weird to say, the first Breath of the Wild, because
<v Speaker 2>that was the same sentiment. The Breath of the Wild
<v Speaker 2>was where you could go anywhere from the you can
<v Speaker 2>get one screen, you can go left, right, or up.
<v Speaker 2>You have to go in the k first to get
<v Speaker 2>the sword from the old Man, but otherwise you could
<v Speaker 2>go about it anyway you wanted, which is what I
<v Speaker 2>love about Breath of the Wild because it felt like
<v Speaker 2>a return to the first. It felt Breath of the
<v Speaker 2>World to me feels like that Zelder in twenty twenty
<v Speaker 2>or twenty seventeen yeah. Anyway, it's five five yeah, because
<v Speaker 2>it's like, it's not like the best game ever. I
<v Speaker 2>mean it was.
<v Speaker 1>Visually does not look good. I'm biased towards graphics. I
<v Speaker 1>would not pick it up today. I don't think it's
<v Speaker 1>fun to go back and play it really is fine. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>next up we have I didn't play it at the time,
<v Speaker 1>so I wouldn't know the legend of Zelda the wind Waker.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know why I put that at five because
<v Speaker 2>I'm now realizing I know what my top five is
<v Speaker 2>and that's not in it. That's what I was saying.
<v Speaker 2>I've been messed up by your games.
<v Speaker 1>No, no, no, But the thing is some of your top
<v Speaker 1>fives might not make the list because you don't know,
<v Speaker 1>like which there's fifteen games I have here, there's only ten.
<v Speaker 2>Berth of the Wild is one, is it?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah?
<v Speaker 2>No, I got to figure out what everything is. Birth
<v Speaker 2>of the World is one, o Carena is two, win
<v Speaker 2>Wacer is probably three, and then Tas of the Kingdom
<v Speaker 2>is probably four. Matures Mask is five. Raining on this, okay,
<v Speaker 2>I'm gonna go four for this one. We're going to
<v Speaker 2>do four. Yeah, okay, because I'm trying now I'm trying
<v Speaker 2>to think where I because now I'm I'm I'm not
<v Speaker 2>vexed by your games anymore. I'm not under your spell wizard.
<v Speaker 1>All right, So the actually have a link between worlds.
<v Speaker 1>That's such a good game. I don't have as much.
<v Speaker 1>That's a better I don't know. That might be a
<v Speaker 1>better game than Win Waker, but I don't have the
<v Speaker 1>nostalgia for it.
<v Speaker 2>It's really great. I'm gonna put it. Oh, my link
<v Speaker 2>to the Past. Oh, this is actually this is actually
<v Speaker 2>harder than I thought it would be. Doing such a
<v Speaker 2>wacky order. I'm doing it wrong. I'm gonna put it
<v Speaker 2>in six six. It's awesome. It's so good. The game's
<v Speaker 2>like a ten out of ten. I don't know, it's
<v Speaker 2>just Oh, I do think I like it more than
<v Speaker 2>Link between Sorry, then linked to the past. But linked
<v Speaker 2>Link to the Past is the goat. I don't know
<v Speaker 2>where I'm gonna put Link to the Past because it's
<v Speaker 2>not in the top three unless something else isn't in
<v Speaker 2>the top three. I don't know what's happening. This is
<v Speaker 2>a nightmare. This is the worst one. You've done, this one. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I didn't want to make it. I knew it was
<v Speaker 2>gonna be too generic. If I give you the worst
<v Speaker 2>and the best way. You finally stumped me, like I
<v Speaker 2>got you stuffs, taking you five attempts to figure it out,
<v Speaker 2>but you stumped me. All right, here we go. The
<v Speaker 2>next one is going to be a link to the past.
<v Speaker 2>I hate you so much. Right now, here's the thing, guys,
<v Speaker 2>I don't know what's coming. Obviously, Breath of the for me,
<v Speaker 2>Breath of the World Ocarina, Birth of World o Kreena
<v Speaker 2>is obviously above this.
<v Speaker 1>Of course. And the thing is they might not come.
<v Speaker 1>They might come, they might not come.
<v Speaker 2>I might even maybe even put Tears It's Tears is
<v Speaker 2>such a hard one to place because it's just Breath
<v Speaker 2>of the Wild with more, and it feels it feels
<v Speaker 2>bad putting it one, like Breath of World one and
<v Speaker 2>Tiers to the Kingdom two, because it's like you're using
<v Speaker 2>two slots for the same game. It's so confusing on
<v Speaker 2>where to place it. So I don't know what's coming
<v Speaker 2>with that. I honestly think I like Between Worlds more.
<v Speaker 2>But I cannot put Link to the Past at seven.
<v Speaker 2>That's insane. So I have to go three, which makes
<v Speaker 2>no sense because I would put wind Waker above it.
<v Speaker 2>Oh man for me personally. Dang. So now we're all
<v Speaker 2>out of control. Now nothing's making and now I'm getting
<v Speaker 2>mad at you. I'm sorry.
<v Speaker 1>You know, I knew this one was probably going to
<v Speaker 1>upset you a little bit, but again, I just didn't
<v Speaker 1>want it to be too generic.
<v Speaker 2>Now, if you want, I'll let you move. No, no, no,
<v Speaker 2>this is good. I'm getting mad in the best way. Okay,
<v Speaker 2>Next up, we have uh, what is it? Don't kill
<v Speaker 2>me here? Please going to be number six and just
<v Speaker 2>be a one that I don't like. Fine, laughing out? Fine,
<v Speaker 2>I know I hear them laughing. I hope you're laughing
<v Speaker 2>is coming through. If we hear it, they have to
<v Speaker 2>hear it. That's a one, you know. That's a one.
<v Speaker 2>That's that's that's I'm finally not stressed out by something.
<v Speaker 1>Well, at least you got your number one in tens
<v Speaker 1>out because those are the two most important, which is
<v Speaker 1>why they're the biggest.
<v Speaker 2>True. I also in a good spot in general because
<v Speaker 2>in the background, because I don't know if Ocarina is
<v Speaker 2>in here, but that's my two. So I'm leaving two
<v Speaker 2>open no matter what you show me. Next has to
<v Speaker 2>be seven, eight or nine, so the pressure is kind
<v Speaker 2>of off.
<v Speaker 1>I'm gonna hate it if it's something good, okay, But
<v Speaker 1>at the same time, I have there's no other option,
<v Speaker 1>so what can I do? Yeah, I mean, I think
<v Speaker 1>you're going to be pretty pissed about this one.
<v Speaker 2>No, I'm fine with that. Seven is fine. He's the thing, Okay,
<v Speaker 2>I'm okay, all right. I don't know how to say this.
<v Speaker 2>I consider myself as much of a Zelda fan as anybody, like.
<v Speaker 2>It's my thing. It's my favorite genre. I love it
<v Speaker 2>so much. I know because I'm in the realm, I'm
<v Speaker 2>in the community, I'm in the game. I've talked about
<v Speaker 2>Zelda enough. I know Twilight Princess is most people's go to.
<v Speaker 2>It's never been my favorite.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I've never played it, but I know it's like
<v Speaker 1>so many people's go too, So I'm excited.
<v Speaker 2>I growing up playing it. While growing up, I guess
<v Speaker 2>I was like fifteen sixteen something like that, right seventeen,
<v Speaker 2>When did it come out? It would have been like
<v Speaker 2>fourteen fifteen. Actually, yeah, I never loved how dark and
<v Speaker 2>this is funny because it's the whole thing, But I
<v Speaker 2>never loved how Dark and gritty it was. I liked
<v Speaker 2>the upbeat adventure of like O Karina win Waker, like
<v Speaker 2>pretty much like Zelda vibes for me wasn't so dark.
<v Speaker 2>And then I didn't love the dog mechanic and I
<v Speaker 2>hated it was that one where you turn into a
<v Speaker 2>dog and you have to get all like the little
<v Speaker 2>spirit orbs or something from around. I think hated it.
<v Speaker 2>I hated that mechanic and that I remember that was
<v Speaker 2>one of the first times in a game that I
<v Speaker 2>was like, I don't like this, and like, I didn't
<v Speaker 2>feel that much growing up. I usually liked almost everything
<v Speaker 2>that I played. And I was like, I don't like this,
<v Speaker 2>and I don't like that this is in my Zelda game,
<v Speaker 2>and I don't like that I'm a dog, and I
<v Speaker 2>don't like that everything is like dark and pixily and
<v Speaker 2>sounding scary and coming from the sky. And for whatever reason,
<v Speaker 2>it didn't work for me that much. And the whole
<v Speaker 2>intro and trying to like give the catfish and figuring
<v Speaker 2>out the and then I don't know, it didn't hit
<v Speaker 2>with me like the other ones. I'm fine with it
<v Speaker 2>in seven actually, because I actually like it less than
<v Speaker 2>all those games other than the first Zelda.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I think you were being too generous with the
<v Speaker 1>first Zelda.
<v Speaker 2>I was way too generous with the first Elder. I
<v Speaker 2>forgot what we were doing here. I went in with
<v Speaker 2>a plan to put everything where I know it goes,
<v Speaker 2>and then immediately I went, oh five, yeah, yeah, sorry.
<v Speaker 2>Next up is Skywards Sword. Oh nine, nine yeah, I
<v Speaker 2>mean unless Spirit Tracks is come in and I'm gonna
<v Speaker 2>regret that. I mean, that's a nine. I feel I
<v Speaker 2>do feel bad. Scarlet Sword has some fans, for sure,
<v Speaker 2>some love. As I said, I try and say this
<v Speaker 2>every time, it is a great game in the world
<v Speaker 2>of games. It is a bad It is an average
<v Speaker 2>i'll say, mainline Zelda title. It doesn't offer that much
<v Speaker 2>what it does do, and I didn't talk about this previously.
<v Speaker 2>In the episode, it does introduce some really cool mechanics
<v Speaker 2>that Breath of the Wild kept, like the stamina bar
<v Speaker 2>and like flying gliding that kind of stuff, and some
<v Speaker 2>other like the handkerchief thing. Some elements were kept and
<v Speaker 2>expanded on. I loved going and getting potions from the
<v Speaker 2>potions guy and actually seeing him give me my potions.
<v Speaker 2>Other than that, it's a throwaway. Okay, So last two
<v Speaker 2>So next up we have Echo of Wisdom. That's a
<v Speaker 2>perfect date. This is great unless unless the last one
<v Speaker 2>is this. If the last one spirit tracks, the episode
<v Speaker 2>is ending with.
<v Speaker 1>Me walking out of them getting fired walking. I will
<v Speaker 1>legit walk. If it's it doesn't even have to be
<v Speaker 1>your Karina. It'll be fine. If it's something I don't
<v Speaker 1>or shown up. Oh you guys, there's gonna be an
<v Speaker 1>A for you or a two? What this one it's,
<v Speaker 1>isn't it?
<v Speaker 2>It actually fits it eight perfectly in this list again,
<v Speaker 2>other than the legend of Zelda, which has messed everything up.
<v Speaker 2>Echoes was great for the first half. Really liked it,
<v Speaker 2>thought it was unique. Then the second half it didn't
<v Speaker 2>expand on itself at all, and I actually found it
<v Speaker 2>to become quite repetitive, similar to Sky would Sword. I
<v Speaker 2>found the back half repetitive. I liked the game. It
<v Speaker 2>felt like a bit of a drag near the end.
<v Speaker 2>M all right, So the last one I will walk
<v Speaker 2>out of. I will leave this room. I'm gonna get
<v Speaker 2>ready to leave this room.
<v Speaker 1>On two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight nine.
<v Speaker 2>Tag in.
<v Speaker 1>It's majority mad. You got lucky. That's fine, you got lucky. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>wait a minute I got lucky. Did you actually randomize
<v Speaker 1>that I did?
<v Speaker 2>It was all random? Really? Yeah? Oh so you didn't
<v Speaker 2>even know what was coming. I didn't know what was
<v Speaker 2>coming either. This is all random.
<v Speaker 1>That's why I said I have fifteen games, and then
<v Speaker 1>I had had me randomized, randomized like twelve is one?
<v Speaker 2>Oh that's really interesting. Yeah, so I don't know either.
<v Speaker 1>So I randomly got Majori's mad. That's a great random
<v Speaker 1>I couldn't. Okay, what was left? That's so?
<v Speaker 2>What was left here? I'll tell you.
<v Speaker 1>I'm actually fine with this. This is good even I
<v Speaker 1>was actually getting annoyed. Yeah, this is good. Now, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>this is good freaking So what was left on the
<v Speaker 1>list that we haven't gone to?
<v Speaker 2>Five left? Yeah?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, so we have minished cap spirit tracks, oh my god,
<v Speaker 1>O Green of Time to t K or Twos of
<v Speaker 1>the Kingdom, and then the last one was Link's Awakening.
<v Speaker 2>You know what? Half of those would have been fine.
<v Speaker 2>Links would have been uneventful. I think Spirit tracks would
<v Speaker 2>have done.
<v Speaker 1>I would have walked, yeah, Spirit Trap.
<v Speaker 2>I wouldn't have walked, but I wouldn't have stayed. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>because I would have. I would have I would have
<v Speaker 2>stood in the middle of the room for that one.
<v Speaker 2>Uh and then Tis Tis would have been good, would
<v Speaker 2>have been fine. Actually, it literally would have been fine,
<v Speaker 2>would have been one and two. It just would have
<v Speaker 2>been disappointing that Okarina and Majoras weren't on there. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>but I feel like Majorias is a big replacement.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, because Majora is like the equivalent of Okarina hand
<v Speaker 1>in hand.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, literally twos of the Kingdom if it wasn't honestly
<v Speaker 2>for the time mechanic, which just drastically alters the gameplayer Majoras.
<v Speaker 2>I see one and two as like the same game all.
<v Speaker 2>It's just the time mechanic throws it off. Yeah, but
<v Speaker 2>that's great. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I had a lot of favorite one so far. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>this is that's a good list. I mean, everything is great.
<v Speaker 1>Other than that Zelda five placement. I'm not even upset
<v Speaker 1>with it now. Yeah, I mean because you got like
<v Speaker 1>the last I mean, I'm not going to say anything
<v Speaker 1>negative about Skywards Sword, but like phantom our Goss, that
<v Speaker 1>deserved the ten spot.
<v Speaker 2>We've played. We've played a game like this in the past,
<v Speaker 2>like a while ago, where I was allowed one switch
<v Speaker 2>at the end, but I had to switch it with
<v Speaker 2>I had to switch to completely. I couldn't just put
<v Speaker 2>one and bump them. Oh yeah, switch them if you want.
<v Speaker 2>We could do that. No, I don't because I'm actually
<v Speaker 2>happy with it. It's a great out. Think you can
<v Speaker 2>switch five and six, though.
<v Speaker 1>I would fix, I would switch. I would switch five
<v Speaker 1>and seven. Honestly, Yeah, that would be the choice, because
<v Speaker 1>I know I did do it. I went a little
<v Speaker 1>harsh on Twilight to kind of justify being okay at seven.
<v Speaker 1>I do think it's better than Link between Worlds, and
<v Speaker 1>I do like it more than Link between Worlds. There
<v Speaker 1>was just gripes that I had with it that made
<v Speaker 1>it not one of my favorites, like everybody else's favorites.
<v Speaker 1>We're going to move it for you, Okay, you get
<v Speaker 1>one switch. We don't have to have this beat the cannon.
<v Speaker 2>This is your extra.
<v Speaker 1>This I think makes the list a lot less upsetting. Well,
<v Speaker 1>because it was randomized for both you and me. We
<v Speaker 1>didn't know what was coming. Okay, but I think you
<v Speaker 1>definitely prematurely gave Zelda.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I definitely regretted that, and I think in hindsight, I
<v Speaker 1>wouldn't even have put it at seven. Yeah, if I
<v Speaker 1>had really been thinking, Yeah, because seven seems like a
<v Speaker 1>sweet spot. Yeah, that's okay. Well, if you're allow me
<v Speaker 1>the switch, I'll take it because that looks this is
<v Speaker 1>a good list because the link to the past golden.
<v Speaker 1>I'm surprised you haven't played it, but this is a
<v Speaker 1>golden So I would no more switches. Great the way
<v Speaker 1>it is, I would bump Sky, would sort up one.
<v Speaker 1>I don't think it's.
<v Speaker 2>Wisdom, Yeah, I think I think it's it's a mainline title,
<v Speaker 2>and it is good. It has some redeeming qualities. I
<v Speaker 2>think it is higher than A than a nine. I
<v Speaker 2>think it's higher than Echoes A Wisdom and maybe even
<v Speaker 2>all the way to seven.
<v Speaker 1>Honestly, that's what I was gonna say. It would be
<v Speaker 1>probably good at seven and then Zelda. I would probably
<v Speaker 1>put that one, maybe at ten, and then I would
<v Speaker 1>puts phantom Alglass above it, Phantoma Glass and Spirit Trucks.
<v Speaker 1>In my opinion, we're saying fun games is from what
<v Speaker 1>I can remember, but I played them so long ago.
<v Speaker 1>The only gripe I remember having was the stylist control.
<v Speaker 1>I would keep that bad Boy or right there there
<v Speaker 1>you go. Majuras is technically throwing the list off a
<v Speaker 1>little but I am, unfortunately just seeing it as our
<v Speaker 1>carena and being thankful that it's there.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, like you, unfortunately you didn't get blessed with no
<v Speaker 2>good there you go, good look a game job jobsolutely
<v Speaker 2>all right, thank you guys so much for watching this
<v Speaker 2>bonus episode. Again, guys, we did this as a fun,
<v Speaker 2>like one time free thing to kind of show you
<v Speaker 2>what you're missing. I guess, which is just more episode.
<v Speaker 2>Like ye, but I always feel like anytime you hear
<v Speaker 2>bonus episode, it's kind of like, what is that like?
<v Speaker 2>If you haven't seen it, this is it. It's a
<v Speaker 2>bonus episode, it's more episode. We end the episode and
<v Speaker 2>then we go live for Patreons every week and we
<v Speaker 2>just keep the show going. I mean, sometimes it's run
<v Speaker 2>over conversation of the main show if you run out
<v Speaker 2>of time. More often than not, we take a Patreon
<v Speaker 2>question or a bunch of Patreon questions. Today's episode was
<v Speaker 2>actually this episode was voted on by patreons, and then
<v Speaker 2>I kind of didn't do it. I kind of like
<v Speaker 2>twisted it, I guess a little bit. But anyway, this
<v Speaker 2>is what you can expect and if you want to
<v Speaker 2>come join us, we're doing so many things now, from
<v Speaker 2>physical rewards for VIPs to just getting these episodes. We

<v Speaker 2>around the studio and I actually told everybody who the
<v Speaker 2>guest is for next week and who the guest is
<v Speaker 2>for three weeks time. The it's a guest we haven't
<v Speaker 2>had before, and I think it's going to shock some
<v Speaker 2>people and I'm very excited for and you'll find out
<v Speaker 2>who that is in the behind the scenes. If you're
<v Speaker 2>a Patreon or a YouTube member, you can join. So
<v Speaker 2>much we get any new members, do you think? Definitely?
<v Speaker 2>You see, well, let's see a couple of games. Oh
<v Speaker 2>we actually did. Heck, yeah, all right, Rip City Mobyn
<v Speaker 2>became a new member. Thank you so much. So did
<v Speaker 2>who is this nice sky? Oh that is thank you
<v Speaker 2>so much. Of course I'll pay it right back to you,
<v Speaker 2>Professor Rock gifting five memberships into the channel. Thank you
<v Speaker 2>for giving five people the chance to watch all these
<v Speaker 2>episodes for the next month.
<v Speaker 1>Uh.
<v Speaker 2>And then sc three Anium became a member as well.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know how to pronounce that, but thank you
<v Speaker 2>so much. Actually they joined the vip. Oh, so they're
<v Speaker 2>going to get the physical rewards. Let's go Caleb somehow.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know how. We haven't one hundred percent figured
<v Speaker 2>that out yet. We are going to you should join
<v Speaker 2>the discord one hundred percent, because that's going to be
<v Speaker 2>the easiest way I think to get in touch with you.
<v Speaker 2>But we'll say, do you want to hit these super chats? Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I can keep going if you want me to do.
<v Speaker 2>I'm already. Yeah, you can go and Woody by Hershey, uh,
<v Speaker 2>but why is Pokopedia gamekey Cup with a two dollar
<v Speaker 2>super chat?
<v Speaker 1>We did cover that because donated it right as you
<v Speaker 1>guys started talking.
<v Speaker 2>Really as soon as and energetically aligned is what I
<v Speaker 2>like call that. Bnado Max with what you said, But
<v Speaker 2>they're not publishing. Thank you so much for the two dollars,
<v Speaker 2>Zillith with a ten, Thank you so much. I wouldn't
<v Speaker 2>care if it was games like five pointy seven style
<v Speaker 2>Wars Outlaws. However, every square Enich game is on. A
<v Speaker 2>game is on a key card, even a freaking three
<v Speaker 2>DS port Sega is the same with Yakuza ports. Uh,
<v Speaker 2>Sir squay Enix through Yes, Bravely Default is on. That
<v Speaker 2>one was weird and that was a launch game, right, Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>that one was weird Sega is the same with the
<v Speaker 2>Yakuza ports. I mean, I would argue the second Yakuza.
<v Speaker 2>I'm playing it now, the Kawami Graphically it's pretty crazy,
<v Speaker 2>Like I don't realize that game looks so good and
<v Speaker 2>it does actually feel like it's pushing the switch to interesting,
<v Speaker 2>So I wouldn't be surprised if it's a similar thing.
<v Speaker 2>Or I mean, Sega has just been doing game key cards,
<v Speaker 2>so honestly, Sega could just be cheaping out. That's true, mean,
<v Speaker 2>that's very true. I don't know. Random video editors with
<v Speaker 2>a five dollars super chat just leaving an idea for
<v Speaker 2>Thenintendo discord. You should make a YouTuber moderator role so
<v Speaker 2>people can see who they are in the discord. I
<v Speaker 2>we have that. I don't know what you mean by that.
<v Speaker 2>There is a there is a YouTuber role in the discord,
<v Speaker 2>so people who are YouTubers or I get I think
<v Speaker 2>it's called creator creator tendo. That's all the YouTuber friends
<v Speaker 2>that are like they're.
<v Speaker 3>Saying moderators like YouTube moderators in terms, not discord moderators.
<v Speaker 2>Oh wait, what I read that so wrong? You should
<v Speaker 2>make a YouTube moderator role for the discord. I'm confused, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>because we don't have mods on the we have mods
<v Speaker 2>and Discord.
<v Speaker 1>Like I think he's talking about the Nontendo podcast moderators.
<v Speaker 2>Do you have mods for here in here? Yeah, I
<v Speaker 2>mean we do. I don't know how many are around
<v Speaker 2>these days. I mean you guys are right, Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>we are. And then I don't. Okay, random obviously because
<v Speaker 2>he said he was. I mean one of them who
<v Speaker 2>wants to be a mod Moody by her, she would
<v Speaker 2>be good one in chat if you want to be
<v Speaker 2>a mod and and Booty by Hershey, you seem trustworthy,
<v Speaker 2>Manado Max, of course, Professor Rock, I mean anybody who
<v Speaker 2>became a member of Gifted subs. You know. I'm looking
<v Speaker 2>for consistency here. Yes, I'll let these ones come in
<v Speaker 2>and if I recognize any names, I can add a
<v Speaker 2>couple more moths in here. But I think the ViBe's
<v Speaker 2>been pretty good. I think we're going a crazy need
<v Speaker 2>for it. All right, guys, thank you so much for
<v Speaker 2>watching this week's episode. The VIP patreons, who you'll see
<v Speaker 2>down below on my screen right now, help support the
<v Speaker 2>show so much. And physical rewards, Oh I gosh, can
<v Speaker 2>you imagine. I mean, I can't have all the left stickers.
<v Speaker 2>I have so many extra stickers. Who's who's doing the
<v Speaker 2>ones in the chat? Thank you so much for listening
<v Speaker 2>to this free bonus episode. I guess we'll also publish

<v Speaker 2>stars just like normal if you want more bonus episodes
