<v Speaker 1>Hey, everybody, welcome to Gay Mess Mornings with Me Jeff Grub,
<v Speaker 1>your host from giant bomb dot com. Thank you for
<v Speaker 1>tuning in. In this episode, we're gonna be talking about
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo delaying a game to next year and Sega calling
<v Speaker 1>the cops on someone who bought its trash.
<v Speaker 2>It's gonna be a good.
<v Speaker 1>One because it's brought to you by ms I and
<v Speaker 1>we have Janichella on the show.
<v Speaker 2>Jan how are you doing.
<v Speaker 3>It's been too long since I've dumpster dived, Grub, I
<v Speaker 3>feel motivated to do it. I got a trunkload of
<v Speaker 3>cliff bars one time because of dumpster diving with my
<v Speaker 3>Asian American kids studies teacher in community college.
<v Speaker 1>So that's just good, good, clean fun. That's just that's clean,
<v Speaker 1>thrifty living.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, Did I eat all of those cliff bars? Oh
<v Speaker 3>it's too many? You know, you know, no, what needs
<v Speaker 3>a trunkload of cliff bars?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>As soon as you have like about five of those
<v Speaker 1>in a row, like day to day, you're like, I
<v Speaker 1>don't need to I'll skip a few and then you
<v Speaker 1>never eat another one.
<v Speaker 2>That's how it always goes.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah yeah, yeah. Other than that, Grub, I'm fine I'm cool,
<v Speaker 3>I'm hanging.
<v Speaker 1>We would go dumpster diving on college move out day
<v Speaker 1>on OSU campus because all of the rich students from
<v Speaker 1>other countries threw out all of their stuff and like,
<v Speaker 1>so you could get TVs and all, you know, huge
<v Speaker 1>consoles for like displaying the TVs and stuff like that.
<v Speaker 1>All that stuff would be thrown out and just sitting
<v Speaker 1>on the curb. So we just get a truck and
<v Speaker 1>go out there and pick up a lot of that.
<v Speaker 2>That was a good way to save money back in
<v Speaker 2>the day.
<v Speaker 3>One of my fellow camera operators on MythBusters, he told
<v Speaker 3>me when he first moved to San Francisco he would
<v Speaker 3>drive around the more affluent parts and wait for them
<v Speaker 3>to throw away a dumpster, not dumpster, a mattress because
<v Speaker 3>generally they'd be still really nice mattresses.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, barely used.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, and that's what he used for a good ten
<v Speaker 3>fifteen years that he lived here in the Bay Area.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, you can't.
<v Speaker 1>It's I always remember hearing it was illegal to sell
<v Speaker 1>a used mattress, like because of health concerns. So what
<v Speaker 1>you could do is apparently you could sell a bed
<v Speaker 1>frame and give the mattress for free and that's how
<v Speaker 1>people would get around that.
<v Speaker 2>But I don't know's.
<v Speaker 1>I guess I never really understood that. Are those health
<v Speaker 1>concerns like black plague related? Is that like an old
<v Speaker 1>thing like oh yeah, if the bed could have the plague.
<v Speaker 3>Bed bugs perhaps, yeah, bad.
<v Speaker 1>Bugs for sure. Yeah, you would definitely want to check
<v Speaker 1>for bed bugs. But that doesn't seem like enough reason
<v Speaker 1>to make it illegal.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know, because then why would they just leave
<v Speaker 3>the mattress out in the open still anyway?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, exactly, I mean you can always do it. You
<v Speaker 1>always just put it on the curb when someone comes
<v Speaker 1>take it, comes and takes it. That's usually I think
<v Speaker 1>how people actually.
<v Speaker 2>Do handle it.
<v Speaker 1>Anyway, Mattress talk is over, everybody, Let's explain ourselves.

<v Speaker 1>You can also catch the show later with chapters and
<v Speaker 1>timestamps on YouTube.
<v Speaker 2>Hello YouTube.
<v Speaker 1>All right, we have a lot to get into, so
<v Speaker 1>let's start the morning mess with a little more Nintendo
<v Speaker 1>Direct to news. Maybe Curbree Planet Robobot Remaster is It's
<v Speaker 1>maybe still coming, but it could have also been pushed
<v Speaker 1>to twenty twenty six. This is from my Nintendo News.
<v Speaker 1>One of the surprise leagues from informed Nintendo leaguer Nate Drake,
<v Speaker 1>who's also Nate the Hate, was that the excellent Nintendo
<v Speaker 1>three DS title Kirby Planet Robobot is getting the remaster
<v Speaker 1>treatment from Nintendo, presumably for both the Nintendo Switch and
<v Speaker 1>Switch to And that's a rumor that makes a lot
<v Speaker 1>of sense, jam, because that is like part of that
<v Speaker 1>trilogy of games that Kirby had on the three DS
<v Speaker 1>or whatever, and they've already done two.
<v Speaker 2>Of the other games. I believe maybe it was like
<v Speaker 2>we and three DS.
<v Speaker 1>I can't keep it straight, but they've already done two
<v Speaker 1>of the other games in that Kirby trilogy, so the
<v Speaker 1>engines ready to go might as well just do this
<v Speaker 1>one as well. However, natean Drake has hinted today that
<v Speaker 1>the game could be pushed back to twenty twenty six,
<v Speaker 1>as he just suggests that having both Kirby Air Riders
<v Speaker 1>and Kirby Planet Robobot could be too much Kirby action
<v Speaker 1>for one year now. I don't know, is that informed
<v Speaker 1>speculation from him or is that just speculation because hearing
<v Speaker 1>that sentence set out loud right? Oh, is Kirby Riders
<v Speaker 1>and a Kirby wrote Planet Robobot remaster too much for
<v Speaker 1>like a very short period of time? Maybe, but they've
<v Speaker 1>done that with Kirby before. It doesn't seem to have
<v Speaker 1>heard anything, So I don't know what do you think?
<v Speaker 3>Uh, they're also two very different styles of games from
<v Speaker 3>from my memory of Kirby Planet Robobot, so I don't
<v Speaker 3>think you would interfere too much. But maybe they just
<v Speaker 3>don't want Kirby to suck up all the air from Kirby.
<v Speaker 3>That being said, Grub, here's a hot take. Are you
<v Speaker 3>ready for this? I think Kirby embodies more of the
<v Speaker 3>Nintendo's spirit than Mario does.
<v Speaker 1>Kirby's these days, especially yeah, I mean especially after Super
<v Speaker 1>Smash Brothers Ultimate That that is a game where you know,
<v Speaker 1>Kirby was put front and center as the most powerful
<v Speaker 1>creature in the universe. And since then, it's just Nintendo
<v Speaker 1>has traded him with all like a lot of love
<v Speaker 1>and put out a lot of Kirby games. And you're right,
<v Speaker 1>I think he is embodying that spirit spirit in a
<v Speaker 1>lot of ways.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, Kirby has never been fickle about his ethnic heritage.
<v Speaker 3>You know, Marios like are you Italian or are you not?
<v Speaker 3>Are you a plumber? You're probably the worst plumber because
<v Speaker 3>you never answer anyone's calls. Kirby, on the mean hand,
<v Speaker 3>is flowing around a little star you little guy.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, he's doing he's owning it, Yeah, owning that heritage,
<v Speaker 1>which apparently is stars.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I am looking forward to this because I never really
<v Speaker 1>got around a Planet Robobot. I think I started it
<v Speaker 1>up a couple times, but I heard good things about
<v Speaker 1>it as well as Triple Deluxe. I know people really
<v Speaker 1>like both those quite a bit.
<v Speaker 2>So Yeah, if Robobot comes, I will play it.
<v Speaker 1>I don't I'm not aching for it to come out
<v Speaker 1>this holiday, for sure. I could see it getting announced
<v Speaker 1>for early next year in the Direct though, where like, hey,
<v Speaker 1>we're setting up some twenty twenty six stuff. This could
<v Speaker 1>easily be like a January February March game, and if
<v Speaker 1>they have another big twenty twenty six game to go
<v Speaker 1>alongside that, all the better.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>But yeah, I think that this is the kind of
<v Speaker 1>game where they start talking about this now.
<v Speaker 3>I definitely think grub that Kirby is their utility player though,
<v Speaker 3>where they can just move Kirby around and fit into
<v Speaker 3>different spots points throughout the schedule, Especially if Tomorrow's Nintendo
<v Speaker 3>Direct we're finally going to get a release date for
<v Speaker 3>Metroid Prime Flour or maybe Dan is hoping that it'll
<v Speaker 3>get delayed it. We'll probably hear more about like they're
<v Speaker 3>released slate for the rest of this year, I'm hoping,
<v Speaker 3>since it's a very long direct supposedly, but yeah, this
<v Speaker 3>is a smaller title that they could move later on
<v Speaker 3>this year early next year and it'd be no problem
<v Speaker 3>at all. Also, because the kids love Kirby and this
<v Speaker 3>is probably a title that a lot of people missed,
<v Speaker 3>so this, yeah, to some folks, this will be a
<v Speaker 3>new game entirely exactly.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, there was a lot of people had three DS's,
<v Speaker 1>but there was also probably a lot of people who
<v Speaker 1>had put down their three DS's by the time that
<v Speaker 1>Planet Robobot was out, and now the switch is captured
<v Speaker 1>such a massive audience and a wide swath of people
<v Speaker 1>that probably didn't play it before.
<v Speaker 2>That's a good point.
<v Speaker 1>I think this is always a good move for them
<v Speaker 1>to kind of keep Kirby, not just in the rotation,
<v Speaker 1>but the starting rotation of always moving him in and
<v Speaker 1>then having the ability, like you said, to move him
<v Speaker 1>around as needed, Because if a year went by without
<v Speaker 1>a Kirby game, two years went by without a Kirby game,
<v Speaker 1>people wouldn't necessarily start freaking out. They'd be like, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>they'll get back to Kirby when they need to, and
<v Speaker 1>at the same time, if they have a year with
<v Speaker 1>five Kirby games, that's also something where people wouldn't be
<v Speaker 1>like this is too much Kirby.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe a little bit, but people I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>They just can do a lot with him, and people
<v Speaker 1>seem to accept it and don't have too much anxiety
<v Speaker 1>around Kirby. And he's only been selling better recently, so yeah,
<v Speaker 1>makes some sense. I'm excited for this direct. As you mentioned,
<v Speaker 1>sixty minutes one of the longest ones we've had, especially
<v Speaker 1>when you don't count the ones that include news about
<v Speaker 1>a new console that they're announcing. The switch to Direct
<v Speaker 1>was around this long, but that was shared between games
<v Speaker 1>and then a bunch of system features and the hardware itself,
<v Speaker 1>and they aren't gonna have to do any of that.
<v Speaker 1>The system well, maybe they'll have some system features, but
<v Speaker 1>not like they would for a new console reveal. So
<v Speaker 1>sixty minutes of mostly games and maybe an update on
<v Speaker 1>the Mario movie. That is a lot of stuff that
<v Speaker 1>we could be seeing in here. I'm setting my expectations
<v Speaker 1>pretty high.
<v Speaker 3>Because of that grub. We're back on Watch Watch all right, Oh.
<v Speaker 2>Shit, okay, all right, never mind twenty minutes on.
<v Speaker 3>A watch sixty minutes? How many minutes does a clock
<v Speaker 3>hold sixty? How many we had Alarmo? What if we
<v Speaker 3>had Alarmo on the go go? I'm back on the
<v Speaker 3>Nintendo Switch to watch. Watch everyone.
<v Speaker 1>If they call it Alarmo Go Go, I'm getting one
<v Speaker 1>for sure. That's a hell of a name.
<v Speaker 3>Cut the check, Doug, Alarmo Go Go.
<v Speaker 2>Next up.
<v Speaker 1>Video game ip lawyer says Nintendo's latest Pokemon patents should
<v Speaker 1>not have happened full stop.
<v Speaker 2>This is from my Nintendo News.
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo and the Pokemon Company took some flack this week
<v Speaker 1>for being granted the patent for summoning a character and
<v Speaker 1>letting it fight another character, basically the idea of like
<v Speaker 1>throwing a Pokemon out into a three D space and
<v Speaker 1>the character fighting alongside you or for you. PC Gamer
<v Speaker 1>spoke with video game patent lawyer Kirk Sigmund about a
<v Speaker 1>used mechanic know about Nintendo and the Pokemon Company being
<v Speaker 1>granted such a used mechanic in video games, and he
<v Speaker 1>stated that they should have not been granted the patent
<v Speaker 1>and that it should not have happened full stop. Calling
<v Speaker 1>it blank or excuse me, quote an embarrassing failure of
<v Speaker 1>the US patent system.
<v Speaker 2>Here's actually the full quote.
<v Speaker 1>Broadly, I don't disagree with many of the online complaints
<v Speaker 1>about these Nintendo patents, and then he set went on
<v Speaker 1>to say they have been an embarrassing failure of the
<v Speaker 1>US patent system. I think people are going to be
<v Speaker 1>able to point to a million examples of other games
<v Speaker 1>that enabled you in the past to summon a character
<v Speaker 1>to fight alongside you. Now, at the same time, people
<v Speaker 1>were like, hey, Final Fantasy had summons. Doesn't sound like
<v Speaker 1>in the description, doesn't sound like that what would have been.
<v Speaker 2>Covered by this patent it would have been that would
<v Speaker 2>have been a different system.
<v Speaker 1>That is like summoning a magic spell that is a
<v Speaker 1>person and they do an attack like separate from the
<v Speaker 1>three D environment that you're that you exist in, which
<v Speaker 1>is the patent that Nintendo has. Still, this just seems like, wait,
<v Speaker 1>there's this does not seem like something Nintendo should have
<v Speaker 1>been able to get away with, and it kind of
<v Speaker 1>does speak to their ability to go in there and
<v Speaker 1>work the system in their favor. And I don't know,
<v Speaker 1>like would they have had to have lied to get
<v Speaker 1>this and be like, no, we are the first ones
<v Speaker 1>to do it. I guess they could just omit like, hey,
<v Speaker 1>our system is very specific and covers this idea, and
<v Speaker 1>yet the application for enforcing the patent could be very broad.
<v Speaker 1>They can still bring that to bear on anyone because
<v Speaker 1>they don't actually have to win the patent suit. They
<v Speaker 1>just got to get the settlement and sort of hit
<v Speaker 1>people over the head with the threat as opposed to
<v Speaker 1>the actual litigation, which is kind of been their mo recently.
<v Speaker 1>I think Power World that did make some changes in
<v Speaker 1>response to Nintendo's lawsuits and the Nintendo's trying to kind
<v Speaker 1>of like look around them, like, does anyone else want
<v Speaker 1>to have a go? We're piling up even more patents,
<v Speaker 1>and in the meantime now people have to be kind
<v Speaker 1>of it's gonna have a cholling effect, right, People are
<v Speaker 1>going to be afraid to do anything that looks kind
<v Speaker 1>of like Pokemon because what if Nintendo comes for you.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, greb agreed one hundred percent. And this I know
<v Speaker 3>that this is primarily targeted towards the Power World devs
<v Speaker 3>because of how much they had kind of lifted designs
<v Speaker 3>of existing Pokemon, But there's also an obscene amount of
<v Speaker 3>indie style Pokemon games like Tem Tem for instance, and
<v Speaker 3>also games like Digimon. Will those get affected? And on
<v Speaker 3>top of that, if Final Fantasy does not quite fit
<v Speaker 3>under that patent, what does that entail for games like
<v Speaker 3>You gi Oh or even Magic the gathering where you
<v Speaker 3>are summoning a card, the card has a creature on
<v Speaker 3>it that fights for you. This is one of those
<v Speaker 3>instances where it is not even a slippery slope grub.
<v Speaker 3>It is a ninety degree straightfall downward and is not
<v Speaker 3>good for the industry at all. And it sucks that
<v Speaker 3>it's Nintendo doing it.
<v Speaker 1>Yep, yeah, it's you know, it is the concept of
<v Speaker 1>patent trolling to a certain degree, Which is it? Like
<v Speaker 1>the patent trolling is the idea of a law firm
<v Speaker 1>or some asshole gathering up a bunche of patents and
<v Speaker 1>then looking for opportunities to use those patents to get
<v Speaker 1>people to settle and give them money. And the efficacy
<v Speaker 1>or the actual application application of those patents does it
<v Speaker 1>really relate to the thing that is being litigated here
<v Speaker 1>or being sued over and that doesn't matter as much?
<v Speaker 1>Like again, like this, this this patent that Nintendo has
<v Speaker 1>might be specific to a very certain concept of summoning
<v Speaker 1>a creature to fight for you. But if you are
<v Speaker 1>now a lawyer at any one of these other companies
<v Speaker 1>working on any of these other games, you have to
<v Speaker 1>acknowledge that that doesn't matter. Nintendo could still sue us,
<v Speaker 1>and so maybe we shouldn't even do this.
<v Speaker 2>In the first place.
<v Speaker 1>Now, I think when it comes to the u gi
<v Speaker 1>Ohs and the Digimons of the world, Nintendo probably has
<v Speaker 1>a sort of friendlier relationship with them, And like you
<v Speaker 1>put our games out of your games out on Nintendo,
<v Speaker 1>and we understand that we're not really going after you.
<v Speaker 1>We all agree we're going after these scumbags making poal World.
<v Speaker 1>That's just ripping off our art. You have your own
<v Speaker 1>characters over at Digimon. This is really about that. So
<v Speaker 1>we're not going to enforce. But still Nintendo has the
<v Speaker 1>ability to do that if they decide, And it's for
<v Speaker 1>a concept that is broadly has been broadly used in
<v Speaker 1>many different ways.
<v Speaker 2>Even again if this is a very specific use case.
<v Speaker 3>I mean even in a game like like a Dragon,
<v Speaker 3>you know, there's yeah blatant homage to Pokemon with Sujimon,
<v Speaker 3>but also like you summon other people by calling them
<v Speaker 3>on a phone. Where my worry is, where will Nintendo
<v Speaker 3>draw the line of yes, they have that existing relationship
<v Speaker 3>with Digimon and you gioh. But say, for instance, something
<v Speaker 3>like a teen TM a cassette beasts starts to blow
<v Speaker 3>up in such a way, will Nintendo just put their
<v Speaker 3>lawyers on like these indie game nexts and like that's
<v Speaker 3>that really sucks because all in all, grub all those
<v Speaker 3>indie games that I mentioned and the countless other ones
<v Speaker 3>out there, they're influenced and inspired by Pokemon.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, And then it's like that's what we want.
<v Speaker 1>We want people who are in an indie space or
<v Speaker 1>any space, a big publisher, whatever, a Chinese developer, we
<v Speaker 1>want them to be able to take the thing that
<v Speaker 1>they're inspired by and riff on it, because that is
<v Speaker 1>ninety nine point nine percent of all art is people
<v Speaker 1>getting inspired by something else and saying I'm going to
<v Speaker 1>do my own version of that, and then they build
<v Speaker 1>on top of that and do new stuff that gets
<v Speaker 1>people excited, which certainly Powe World did and that's good
<v Speaker 1>for gaming, you know. Not that I really feel like
<v Speaker 1>I need to explain this to this audience. We all
<v Speaker 1>kind of I think we all get this at this point,
<v Speaker 1>but it's just frustrating to see it, as you said,
<v Speaker 1>done by Nintendo. So in a chat's like, there's a
<v Speaker 1>word for this. It's cartel. Yeah, the Nintendo of America
<v Speaker 1>gaming cartel, throwing around their weight in power to get
<v Speaker 1>their way, and then to have the threat of force
<v Speaker 1>of these of these patents waiting in the wing for
<v Speaker 1>anyone who dare cross them.
<v Speaker 2>It's not the way gamings to work. And I wish
<v Speaker 2>Nintendo knew better. All right.
<v Speaker 1>Ubisoft confirms FARCREI will more predominantly push multiplayer in the future.
<v Speaker 1>This is from Andy Robinson from VGC and this is
<v Speaker 1>our Oh baby, what is you doing?
<v Speaker 2>Segment of the show.
<v Speaker 1>Ubisoftists confirmed it's it intends to more prominently integrate multiplayer
<v Speaker 1>into future installments of Far Cry. Speaking on stage at
<v Speaker 1>Saudi Arabia's New Global Sport Conference covered by Game File,
<v Speaker 1>CEO Yeves Gimo was asked about the future of the
<v Speaker 1>shooter series, which recently fell under the control of a
<v Speaker 1>new ten Cent backed subsidiary. According to Guimo, the goal
<v Speaker 1>on Far Cry is really to bring the multiplayer aspects
<v Speaker 1>more predominantly pushed so that it can be played for
<v Speaker 1>a long time by players. The execs comments potentially corroborate
<v Speaker 1>press reports from twenty twenty three, which claimed that Ubisoft
<v Speaker 1>was developing far Krist seven and a standalone FARKRII multiplayer game.
<v Speaker 1>It was claimed at the time that Parkris seven was
<v Speaker 1>being made with the Ubisoft's Snowdrop engine rather than the
<v Speaker 1>Dunia engine used for the recent games in the series.
<v Speaker 1>The multiplayer game was described as an extension an extraction
<v Speaker 1>based shooter set in the Alaskan wilderness. I don't know
<v Speaker 1>if I read the story that way, where it's like
<v Speaker 1>the game that he's talking about here is that extraction
<v Speaker 1>based shooter. To me, this sounds like we want phar
<v Speaker 1>Cry seven to be more like Tom Klantcy's Goat, like
<v Speaker 1>the Ghost Recon games, the recent ones, like where it's
<v Speaker 1>four players in a jungle or whatever on playing missions together.
<v Speaker 1>And while those games have been varying levels of quality,
<v Speaker 1>they have been played for a long time in almost
<v Speaker 1>for every release, because some players just decide that's their game,
<v Speaker 1>and then Ubi Stuft can support it for very long time.
<v Speaker 1>So that's the sense I get, and I just don't know,
<v Speaker 1>like to me, it's like, Okay, it's fine if you
<v Speaker 1>want to add that on top, But saying that that
<v Speaker 1>is the predominant push, that that is going to be
<v Speaker 1>the focus for the game, that's worrisome to me because
<v Speaker 1>it's like, you've got to get the basics of a
<v Speaker 1>far Cry game right first, make it fun, single player
<v Speaker 1>that so when I get done playing with my friends,
<v Speaker 1>I want to keep playing that. And if it's not that,
<v Speaker 1>if you don't have that, nothing else matters, even the
<v Speaker 1>multiplayer on top of that.
<v Speaker 3>No, grub, I don't think I've ever known the Far
<v Speaker 3>Cry series to be anything other than like map slop,
<v Speaker 3>like single player running around at doing whatever you want
<v Speaker 3>to do, and I feel like adding multiplayer to that
<v Speaker 3>might ruin that flow of what Far Cry games are
<v Speaker 3>known for. This this is a oh baby, what is
<v Speaker 3>you doing? And the fact that Extraction Shooter came out
<v Speaker 3>in regard to that story of like all right, guys, like,
<v Speaker 3>do y'all know what an extraction shooter is? Like does
<v Speaker 3>anyone really know at this point? Because this just feels
<v Speaker 3>like it is getting tossed around like a buzzword for
<v Speaker 3>the sake of a buzzword, much like how oh.
<v Speaker 2>This has AI or this has.
<v Speaker 3>Uh whatever else like buzzword of the.
<v Speaker 2>Week, definitely a buzzword for investors.
<v Speaker 3>You're right, And I just don't see the existing Far
<v Speaker 3>Cry audience, like the diehards out there that love that
<v Speaker 3>series and you know, admittingly may wait a couple of
<v Speaker 3>weeks for that series to go on discount after the
<v Speaker 3>initial release. That is one of those games where people
<v Speaker 3>will just get lost playing because they just want to
<v Speaker 3>get lost playing by themselves, not in any type of
<v Speaker 3>multiplayer capacity, you know. That being said, I don't know
<v Speaker 3>a shooter in a multiplayer shooter in that universe. Sure,
<v Speaker 3>I just don't know what the appetite is for any
<v Speaker 3>type of extraction shooter getting adapted into like any existing IP.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that feels like the extraction shooter for Far Cry
<v Speaker 1>as a standalone game continues to feel like all of
<v Speaker 1>the other 'bi soft multiplayer spinoffs of existing franchises, which
<v Speaker 1>are you know.
<v Speaker 2>Extraction or Survival or Battle Rayale or.
<v Speaker 1>Whatever else, or you know, the Rainbow six Call of
<v Speaker 1>Duty like that they launched, you know, a X factor
<v Speaker 1>that's not the name, but that's what came to mind.
<v Speaker 1>They've had, they've tried a bunch of these, and I
<v Speaker 1>don't really think any of them have worked. They're going
<v Speaker 1>to do they are going to do an extraction with
<v Speaker 1>the division still right. So it's like, do you need
<v Speaker 1>one for Far Cry as well?
<v Speaker 2>Whatever?
<v Speaker 1>I we know what's what's happening here is the multiplayer
<v Speaker 1>games that hit do just sell better.
<v Speaker 2>They do reach a bigger audience.
<v Speaker 1>If you need proof of that, the top twenty best
<v Speaker 1>selling PlayStation platform games of all time was just released
<v Speaker 1>or in the United States, was released by Circon in
<v Speaker 1>the past week. Matt Piscatella put it out there, and
<v Speaker 1>you know, like fifteen of those were Call of Duty.
<v Speaker 1>A lot of the other ones were also multiplayer, but
<v Speaker 1>you had your Grand Theft autos and your right head redemptions.
<v Speaker 1>But like you, typically when you look at the top
<v Speaker 1>ten best selling games of the year, multiplayer games usually dominate,
<v Speaker 1>and so if you can break through there and get
<v Speaker 1>to that, you can get that money. I just Far
<v Speaker 1>Cry seems like a weird one to try to force
<v Speaker 1>that on or into or say again to say predominant push,
<v Speaker 1>where you could instead just be like we are naturally
<v Speaker 1>and organically building the game in that direction while maintaining
<v Speaker 1>what far Cry is for that audience, But I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>Farcrei is also growing stale, so they were probably looking
<v Speaker 1>for ways to shake it up. And this feels like
<v Speaker 1>the easiest one or the one that has the biggest.
<v Speaker 2>Upside, and it's like, uh yeah, but it.
<v Speaker 1>Also has the chance, I think of sort of spoiling
<v Speaker 1>the series for everyone who's who doesn't want this and
<v Speaker 1>wants the old way of doing things, and now you
<v Speaker 1>have no one playing your game because everyone's unhappy with it.
<v Speaker 3>Grub, What is a good Ubi Soft multiplayer game?
<v Speaker 1>I mean, Rainbow six Siege is really good. Rainbow six
<v Speaker 1>Siege is very good.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I've been watching the kind of funny guys get
<v Speaker 3>back into that, and I'm kind of curious to to
<v Speaker 3>dip our toes into that as well.
<v Speaker 2>It's it's it's a lot of fun. I played quite
<v Speaker 2>a bit.
<v Speaker 1>Uh Siege against them, that'd bead that would be fun.
<v Speaker 1>I used to play with Anthony Diegos and his crew
<v Speaker 1>and that was a good time. They they knew what
<v Speaker 1>they were doing and I would always be kind of
<v Speaker 1>like the nube and there being like heh, well, guys,
<v Speaker 1>show me around, jeez. Oh I did didn't mean to
<v Speaker 1>shoot you, sorry friend. So yeah, but it's that is
<v Speaker 1>a game. That game was on the top twenty of
<v Speaker 1>the best selling PlayStation games ever. That is impressive. But
<v Speaker 1>like you just Rainbow six Siege is the one that
<v Speaker 1>caught lightning in the bottle, and at the same time,
<v Speaker 1>you besoft tended it and and really like nourished it
<v Speaker 1>and ensured that it could grow from that little seedling
<v Speaker 1>it was when it launched, and no one actually cared
<v Speaker 1>about it into this massive thing over time, and you
<v Speaker 1>be sooft.
<v Speaker 2>I'll give it.
<v Speaker 1>It's good credit where credit is due. Is decent at
<v Speaker 1>doing that. Yeah, they done it a lot recently. No,
<v Speaker 1>a lot of the stuff that like has been those
<v Speaker 1>tiny little seed lanes they've either canceled or never put out,
<v Speaker 1>or you know, never.
<v Speaker 2>Even released in the first place. Sure, or pulled it
<v Speaker 2>off the shelf.
<v Speaker 1>All right, good luck, you'd be suff figuring it out.
<v Speaker 1>I guess I don't really know if I would even
<v Speaker 1>care about the next far Cry game no matter what,
<v Speaker 1>So try some stuff.
<v Speaker 2>Good luck.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, that's the other aspect of the stary grub. I
<v Speaker 3>don't remember the last time I was interested in checking
<v Speaker 3>out a fire Cry game. Yeah, maybe it was ten
<v Speaker 3>years ago with like the weed burning portion where they've
<v Speaker 3>played scrillicks and that might just be a fever dream
<v Speaker 3>at this point, that might not have even been farc cry.
<v Speaker 2>Ye, who knows, It's impossible to tell anymore.
<v Speaker 1>All right, let's take a quick break. We'll come back
<v Speaker 1>and talk about Battlefield six. Is battle Royale getting revealed
<v Speaker 1>after these messages? If you want to skip out on these,
<v Speaker 1>you go to giant bomb dot com, slash join.

<v Speaker 1>Battlefield six is battle Royale revealed, one hundred players and
<v Speaker 1>destruction everywhere. This is from Andy Robinson at vgc EA
<v Speaker 1>has revealed the first details of Battlefield six's battle Royale mode,
<v Speaker 1>which it says will feature one hundred players, destructible environments, vehicles.
<v Speaker 2>And more. Jane, I'll read a little bit more of
<v Speaker 2>this story. I mean like it is.
<v Speaker 1>Battlefield battle Royale, Like if something comes to mind when
<v Speaker 1>you hear that, it does sound like it's exactly that.
<v Speaker 1>An emphasis on destruction, trying to make sure that the
<v Speaker 1>game still feels or battlefield, and then just tacking on
<v Speaker 1>this different mode. Also, they are trieving it like a mode.
<v Speaker 1>It sounds like, which you know, Battle Royale always has been.
<v Speaker 1>I think we got it into our head, or at
<v Speaker 1>least a publisher, like the idea of us treating it
<v Speaker 1>as the you know, these bespoke games like Battle Royal
<v Speaker 1>can just be its own game, but it always was
<v Speaker 1>just like this is the new Capture of the Flag,
<v Speaker 1>but they're just selling it to us or treating it
<v Speaker 1>as a free to play game.
<v Speaker 2>Do you think that can work for Battlefield, like.
<v Speaker 1>You know, just including Battle Royale sort of over here
<v Speaker 1>aside from the standard Battlefield experience.
<v Speaker 3>One hundred percent grub. I think, especially with how well
<v Speaker 3>the Battlefield six bade has been doing, I can see
<v Speaker 3>them having a pretty popular Battle Royale mode, especially if
<v Speaker 3>all of the destructive shenanigans are present. Why stop at
<v Speaker 3>one hundred just throwing as many as you can into it,
<v Speaker 3>because I think it'd be hilarious that as you were
<v Speaker 3>just dropping wherever, you get taken out by someone flying
<v Speaker 3>a helicopter or like a building building collapsing. So I
<v Speaker 3>think that could introduce a lot of fun shenanigans. And
<v Speaker 3>I hope Battlefield continues to be successful like up to
<v Speaker 3>up until they launch and everything.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, Neo Bogart and chests is yeah. I mean obviously
<v Speaker 1>just like just get Warzone. But war Zone to me,
<v Speaker 1>is like a standalone game. Sure, you launch it as
<v Speaker 1>a mode in the Call of Duty HQ app or whatever,
<v Speaker 1>but it's separate, free to play. You can get into
<v Speaker 1>it without having to have spent money on any of
<v Speaker 1>the other Call of Duty games. And that does not
<v Speaker 1>sound like what they're doing here. Sounds like they are
<v Speaker 1>going to include this in that seventy dollars or whatever
<v Speaker 1>the cost is for Battlefield six package, and it's just
<v Speaker 1>right there as another mode that you paid for in
<v Speaker 1>that game. Maybe that's not how it actually ends up
<v Speaker 1>playing now, but that's what it sounds like. According to
<v Speaker 1>these early announcements. This game will also apparently have the
<v Speaker 1>deadliest ring in Battle Royale. That's what they're saying, So
<v Speaker 1>you know, the ring that closes around you, it's going
<v Speaker 1>to be very dangerous.
<v Speaker 2>I don't is that a feature for you?
<v Speaker 3>I don't know, grub I was about to say that.
<v Speaker 3>I think it's funny how Battlefield six is presenting itself
<v Speaker 3>and saying like, hey, we're not going to have like
<v Speaker 3>license skins or whatever. No worries about that we're like
<v Speaker 3>a military shooter. Yet this is the gameplay that they're presenting, Like, y'all,
<v Speaker 3>don't take yourself seriously, and that's what I enjoy.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, exactly, me too. And at the same time, I
<v Speaker 2>get I'm not the person they need to please.
<v Speaker 1>With Battlefield six, they do have that core audience that
<v Speaker 1>they need to keep happy.
<v Speaker 2>But maybe it's impossible to keep those people happy. I
<v Speaker 2>don't know. Anyway, they said with urgent warnings.
<v Speaker 1>As the fire approaches, I guess the ring is going
<v Speaker 1>to be like a wildfire or something. Soldiers will be
<v Speaker 1>pushed into more intense firefights as the game space continues
<v Speaker 1>to shrink.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's about royale.
<v Speaker 1>There's no jumping in and out of it, no using
<v Speaker 1>it for cover, no walking through it. If you get
<v Speaker 1>caught in it, you are done. So that's the difference
<v Speaker 1>here is you get hit by it, you're out. So
<v Speaker 1>you have to like you have to keep moving towards
<v Speaker 1>each other, and you can't. Sort of, I think I
<v Speaker 1>actually kind of like that idea because it might force
<v Speaker 1>people to play more frantically, which creates a lot more opportunities.
<v Speaker 1>Like I always think of a minor league baseball, where
<v Speaker 1>it's like sometimes that's more fun because it's a little
<v Speaker 1>bit messier. This sounds like it will create a lot
<v Speaker 1>more of those messy situations if you have to be
<v Speaker 1>running full sprint to keep away from that fire.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah. I not to spoil the next story, but I
<v Speaker 3>think that is also partially why college football is also
<v Speaker 3>such a big deal here in the States. At least
<v Speaker 3>that can happen, like anything can happen, and like it
<v Speaker 3>could just be some Joe Schmoe from a very small
<v Speaker 3>university that winds up becoming a superstar.
<v Speaker 1>Yep, yep, all right, I'm trying to see if there's
<v Speaker 1>anthing else worth talking about in this thing. I you know,
<v Speaker 1>they said that for the map, battle feel is no
<v Speaker 1>stranger in epic maps, and this all new map has
<v Speaker 1>been built for the batter Rayle experience. They are like
<v Speaker 1>specifically building a new map just for this. It features
<v Speaker 1>a diverse array of tactical points of interest, each with
<v Speaker 1>distinct layouts and themes that offer unique gameplay opportunities. There
<v Speaker 1>will be vehicles. There is that aforementioned tactical destruction. Destruction
<v Speaker 1>will be everywhere in this mode from creating pathways through
<v Speaker 1>walls to top lank buildings.
<v Speaker 2>We look forward to seeing.
<v Speaker 1>Players ingenuity with destruction and how they use it to
<v Speaker 1>defeat their opponents. Obviously, they'll have a chance for a
<v Speaker 1>squad play organized into twenty five four player squads.
<v Speaker 2>I mean it sounds like a bat Royale game and
<v Speaker 2>it sounds like Battlefield.
<v Speaker 1>I do agree with EA on this that they probably
<v Speaker 1>do need this mode to really get this game to
<v Speaker 1>where they expect it to be.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, do they need it to keep the Battlefield fans happy?
<v Speaker 1>Probably not, But those fans do seem like they're excited
<v Speaker 1>about this game, and they have them. With the core gameplay,
<v Speaker 1>Battlefield will definitely be for like growing beyond them. Obviously,
<v Speaker 1>the concern there would be, well, what if that becomes
<v Speaker 1>the main part of that's the main event, and now
<v Speaker 1>that the core game play that people like for Battlefield
<v Speaker 1>is maybe being left behind a little bit, we'll see.
<v Speaker 3>I don't see them doing that. If anything, I could
<v Speaker 3>see them taking seasons to prioritize like the strict multiplayer mode,
<v Speaker 3>and then another season dedicated to like the Battle Royale
<v Speaker 3>if that is kind of taking off for like the
<v Speaker 3>month or a couple months.
<v Speaker 1>People are putting out. The other is the battlefield for
<v Speaker 1>or excuse me, borderlands for review round up. I'll get
<v Speaker 1>to that here in a second. Let's get through some
<v Speaker 1>of these other headlines first, though, EA Sports College Football
<v Speaker 1>may have to pay athletes a lot more next year.
<v Speaker 2>This is from Blair Marnell at GameSpot.
<v Speaker 1>College football players who lent their names and likenesses to
<v Speaker 1>both EA Sports college football twenty five and twenty six
<v Speaker 1>reportedly received a pay bump from six hundred for the
<v Speaker 1>former to fifteen hundred for the latter. However, that may
<v Speaker 1>not be enough for players when EA begins putting together
<v Speaker 1>the deal for college football twenty seven. According to Front
<v Speaker 1>Office Sports, the issue at hand is revenue sharing. EA's Madden,
<v Speaker 1>NFL and other pro sports games include players when dividing
<v Speaker 1>the revenue. However, EA's deal for the college football games
<v Speaker 1>only include extra payments if the athletes appeared on the
<v Speaker 1>cover or if they were involved with the marketing of
<v Speaker 1>the game. Front Office Sports notes that EA also left
<v Speaker 1>out language in the contract that allowed college players to
<v Speaker 1>opt out of the deal, but the company told Front
<v Speaker 1>Office Sports that players can still do so if they
<v Speaker 1>contact EA directly. They're just not going to tell you
<v Speaker 1>that you can contact EA directly. One Team Partners, the
<v Speaker 1>organization that worked with EA to line up the college players,
<v Speaker 1>has shared a statement calling for revenue sharing in the
<v Speaker 1>next installment of the series. One Team does not dictate
<v Speaker 1>the terms of the NIL agreements between college players and EA.
<v Speaker 1>The decision to remain to remain silent on the opt
<v Speaker 1>out was EA's unilateral choice. We continue to work with
<v Speaker 1>THEA to influence its NIL license agreement, but these changes
<v Speaker 1>were implemented by EA. The higher payouts in this year's
<v Speaker 1>title show the progress, but it's not enough. We continue
<v Speaker 1>to advocate for meaningful revenue sharing for college athletes from
<v Speaker 1>all partners. So I think this also relates to what
<v Speaker 1>was happening with the college basketball game where we were
<v Speaker 1>talked about that last week where EA was involved in
<v Speaker 1>the potential creation of an E of an EA Sports
<v Speaker 1>college basketball game, while two K was also going after
<v Speaker 1>that and that was going to be the start off
<v Speaker 1>as a mode and two K back basketball. Whatever point
<v Speaker 1>is two K and EA we're going to begin kind
<v Speaker 1>of going against one another to bid over players and colleges.
<v Speaker 2>And universities to put into the game.
<v Speaker 1>And I think EA saw a sort of pathway here
<v Speaker 1>where that eventually led to two K being like, here,
<v Speaker 1>let's just lock it down. We'll do revenue sharing. We're
<v Speaker 1>going to do revenue sharing for college basketball players. We'll
<v Speaker 1>put it all out there and we'll just guarantee it
<v Speaker 1>right now, and we'll do the thing that EA won't do.
<v Speaker 1>And then when EA had to go back and talk
<v Speaker 1>to the college football players, those football or you know,
<v Speaker 1>even if EA did match it, let's say, did those like,
<v Speaker 1>we'll do revenue sharing with college basketball players, then the
<v Speaker 1>college football players would really have a leg to stand
<v Speaker 1>on and say, clearly, you can do this, you will
<v Speaker 1>do it if we hold out.
<v Speaker 2>So we're going to hold out until you do it.
<v Speaker 1>And EA did not want to risk that for the
<v Speaker 1>game that already is a success. So they are taking
<v Speaker 1>their ball and going home, and here we are. I
<v Speaker 1>continue to be like amazed that they were to pull
<v Speaker 1>this off in the first place, because it's like, man,
<v Speaker 1>how are they gonna get all those players? The compensation's
<v Speaker 1>got to be difficult to figure out, and turning out
<v Speaker 1>the answer was just pay them shit PAM basically nothing
<v Speaker 1>or you know, next to nothing. The year later, which
<v Speaker 1>is fifteen hundred dollars. That number was gonna keep going up.
<v Speaker 1>But EA will probably find some creative ways to get
<v Speaker 1>around this, and one of those ways is don't even
<v Speaker 1>tell people they can opt out if they don't want
<v Speaker 1>to be a part of this kind of scummy right.
<v Speaker 3>Oh, very scummy grub. I have always felt some type
<v Speaker 3>of way about college sports because of the exploitation in general.
<v Speaker 3>And that's just the game being played. Now you're including
<v Speaker 3>likenesses for a bunch of students, a bunch of players.
<v Speaker 3>Some of these players grub playing this sport is their
<v Speaker 3>way out right. They wouldn't have been able to go
<v Speaker 3>to this university. They wouldn't have been able to like
<v Speaker 3>leave the neighborhood they grew up in. And like, this
<v Speaker 3>is not just like a prospect, this is like them
<v Speaker 3>trying to guarantee their future. And several people have mentioned it.
<v Speaker 3>There are so many college football players that wind up
<v Speaker 3>getting lifelong injuries and never go pro yep, And like, EA,
<v Speaker 3>come on dogs, like just pay up these kids.
<v Speaker 2>Yep.
<v Speaker 3>Don't just give them a code, give them like give
<v Speaker 3>them the cash that they should have.
<v Speaker 2>Yep.
<v Speaker 1>Postman dam with the supertests how much could a college
<v Speaker 1>student be? Fifteen hundred dollars? And then Marina points out,
<v Speaker 1>like something that's worth mentioning here that there are seventy
<v Speaker 1>plus football players per team and only fifteen on basketball. Now,
<v Speaker 1>the thing with basketball is there are both men's and
<v Speaker 1>women's programs, and sounded like the intention was to include
<v Speaker 1>both of those. I bet the colleges would demand that,
<v Speaker 1>and so.
<v Speaker 2>Like that would add up.
<v Speaker 1>So that's thirty but that's still quite a bit less
<v Speaker 1>than what you see for football. And again, two K
<v Speaker 1>could easily just be like, we can't afford this, we're
<v Speaker 1>going to force this, and EA would be in a
<v Speaker 1>situation where they would also have to pay the football players,
<v Speaker 1>and instead, I think is kind of hoping two K
<v Speaker 1>well undercut whatever deal would have happened if they were
<v Speaker 1>bidding against one another, and instead creates something cheaper that
<v Speaker 1>so kind of like another cartel, yet another cartel where
<v Speaker 1>it's like, listen, you don't step on our football turf,
<v Speaker 1>we won't step on your college basketball turf, and we
<v Speaker 1>can both save a lot of money. So yeah, when
<v Speaker 1>I said kind of scouting me, I meant, fuck these people.
<v Speaker 2>God, why is it always have to work this way.
<v Speaker 2>It's so frustrating.
<v Speaker 1>I get that, Like, this is the system, right, so
<v Speaker 1>when we criticize the company, it's like they're just trying
<v Speaker 1>to make the most money while paying the least amount
<v Speaker 1>of money out like anyone's supposed to in this system.
<v Speaker 2>And boy, it's like, oh yeah, let's go back to
<v Speaker 2>tearing that thing down.
<v Speaker 3>It's like grub this was also such a very popular
<v Speaker 3>game for them that, Like, again, I think optics wise
<v Speaker 3>to know if I'm a consumer and i am a
<v Speaker 3>big fan of college football, maybe I'm an alumni from
<v Speaker 3>a university or whatever in my local neighborhood, I would
<v Speaker 3>feel good about supporting my team and buying a game
<v Speaker 3>if I know that that team is also being supported,
<v Speaker 3>And yeah, it just sucks. Marina also pointing out very
<v Speaker 3>depressing statistic that only two percent of college football players
<v Speaker 3>ever go pro.
<v Speaker 1>So oh yeah, and then and then five percent of
<v Speaker 1>those make the kind of money that really justifies all
<v Speaker 1>the stuff that they're going to go through.
<v Speaker 2>Right, Yeah, it's yeah frustrating. Uh, Okay, let's see here.
<v Speaker 1>Three new resolutions may soon be added to Xbox Cloud Gaming.
<v Speaker 1>This is from Fraser Gilbert at Pure Xbox it looks
<v Speaker 1>like Xbox Cloud Gaming might be getting three new resolution
<v Speaker 1>options in the near future, basically improved resolution options. So
<v Speaker 1>they've had previously seven to twenty P and ten ADP.
<v Speaker 1>Now people are spotting in the code options for seven
<v Speaker 1>to twenty P HQ high quality, an HQ version of
<v Speaker 1>ten ADP, and then fourteen forty P. Not that would
<v Speaker 1>be a significant improvement kind of across the board. I'm
<v Speaker 1>assuming that this is a bump up and bit rate
<v Speaker 1>for seven to twenty P and ten ADP. That would
<v Speaker 1>make a lot of sense. It's probably what that means,
<v Speaker 1>and then you know, using that extra bit rate and
<v Speaker 1>bumping up maybe a little bit more for a fourteen
<v Speaker 1>to forty P stream. Image quality on Xbox Cloud Gaming
<v Speaker 1>is bad, like it has been bad.
<v Speaker 2>It is bad.
<v Speaker 1>We're not talking about artifacting, we're not talking about latency. Actually,
<v Speaker 1>just looking at the games kind of sucks. And it
<v Speaker 1>was always like, well, it's in beta, but they went
<v Speaker 1>from beta to this real version of it quite some
<v Speaker 1>time ago, at least I think they did. Maybe it's
<v Speaker 1>still technically in beta, but they're charging money for it.
<v Speaker 1>So whatever it has looked bad, it's been a bad
<v Speaker 1>way to play games, especially compared to in videos, g
<v Speaker 1>Force Now and some other options, even PlayStation's offerings. It
<v Speaker 1>got an update in like the last couple of years
<v Speaker 1>to make it look way better. When you're cloud gaming
<v Speaker 1>and Xbox trying to lean on this as a major
<v Speaker 1>pillar of the future for them, and they didn't seem
<v Speaker 1>interested in investing in it.
<v Speaker 2>Is this too little, too late, though, jan I think.
<v Speaker 3>It might be. I don't think it's the end of
<v Speaker 3>streaming games at all. I just I would love to
<v Speaker 3>see the numbers grub and like even even our own
<v Speaker 3>audience here, our own community, like if people have have
<v Speaker 3>like checked out excloud, if they actively use it.
<v Speaker 1>We ran that poll like a couple of weeks ago,
<v Speaker 1>right it was like not a lot at we're actively
<v Speaker 1>using cloud gaming.
<v Speaker 2>It was like maybe one in ten.
<v Speaker 3>And I feel like that's not just because of technical limitations,
<v Speaker 3>but it just feels like it hasn't been prioritized as
<v Speaker 3>like a major component for Xbox. Like oftentimes, the when
<v Speaker 3>I hear an update about xCloud, it's because we're covering
<v Speaker 3>it on the show, not because a friend or an
<v Speaker 3>acquaintance is actively using it or like trying to sell
<v Speaker 3>me on it as like, hey, this is this has
<v Speaker 3>been working for me. You should check this out. It's
<v Speaker 3>most often than not that it is having like a
<v Speaker 3>weird bump up in like presenting.
<v Speaker 2>Like oh you got three new resolutions or.
<v Speaker 3>Whatever, other stories or often grub it's instability yep, yep.
<v Speaker 1>And I recognize, and you know, thanks to Mat Pisquetell
<v Speaker 1>for pointing this out that you know, that's our perspective.
<v Speaker 1>And I think are a very mature market here where
<v Speaker 1>we have a certain way of doing things and we're
<v Speaker 1>all kind of dug in to that way of doing
<v Speaker 1>things personally and how we access video games. And then meanwhile,
<v Speaker 1>places like Brazil and South Korea apparently something like Xbox
<v Speaker 1>excuse me, cloud gaming is doing very well. So again,
<v Speaker 1>long term, getting these improvements will be nice for people
<v Speaker 1>who are who will look at a console game be
<v Speaker 1>like maybe I do want to play that, but I
<v Speaker 1>was never going to spend five hundred dollars on a
<v Speaker 1>console and now you don't have to. I still think
<v Speaker 1>that audience is probably very small, like overall, but maybe
<v Speaker 1>it does grow over time, and the only way really
<v Speaker 1>to get to grow is to have a decent service.
<v Speaker 1>So and I just cloud gaming was not there from.
<v Speaker 2>Xbox up to this point.
<v Speaker 1>As a reminder anytime we talk about Microsoft, at least
<v Speaker 1>the first time which on the show, they are a
<v Speaker 1>priority target for the BDS movement for their involvement and
<v Speaker 1>making money off of the genocide.
<v Speaker 2>In Gaza bul rights. Let's sorry, yeah, fuck the Let's
<v Speaker 2>keep going here.
<v Speaker 1>Sega reportedly called police after mistakenly scrapping Nintendo dev kits.
<v Speaker 2>This is the hell of a story.
<v Speaker 1>This is from Emma Roth at The Verge. A UK
<v Speaker 1>based video game reseller claims Sega was behind a police
<v Speaker 1>raid that seized a trove of Nintendo development kits from
<v Speaker 1>his home. According to a report from the Time Extension,
<v Speaker 1>the seller, who reportedly purchased the collection from a scrap yard,
<v Speaker 1>accused of Sega of getting the police involved to recover
<v Speaker 1>the DevKits after mistakenly throwing them out. The seller tells
<v Speaker 1>the outlet that he purchased the rare fines for around
<v Speaker 1>ten thousand pounds from a worker who showed up at
<v Speaker 1>the scrapyard with a van load of items that had
<v Speaker 1>reportedly come from Sega's office clearance. Sega moved its europe
<v Speaker 1>office European office from Brentford, West London to the city's
<v Speaker 1>Chiswick Business Park earlier this year. Those are all just
<v Speaker 1>made up names. On July fourteenth, around three months after
<v Speaker 1>the purchase, police arrested the seller and rated his home.
<v Speaker 1>According to Time Extension, I was woken at around seven
<v Speaker 1>thirty am by a loud knock at my door. When
<v Speaker 1>I opened it, I was met by approximately ten officers
<v Speaker 1>from the City of London Police. They informed me that
<v Speaker 1>I was under arrest for money laundering and that they
<v Speaker 1>were there to seize development kits and game cartridges. In
<v Speaker 1>addition to Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DSi, two DS, three DS,
<v Speaker 1>WE and We You dev kits, the collection also included
<v Speaker 1>a bunch of prototype games, including Sonic Chronicles, The Dark Brotherhood,
<v Speaker 1>Sonic Generations, Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympic Games,
<v Speaker 1>Fantasy Star Zero, and many others. It's unclear whether the
<v Speaker 1>games were seized by police. Apparently, the police showed up
<v Speaker 1>a few weeks later and tried to get him to
<v Speaker 1>sign some disclaimer basically that says that he gave up
<v Speaker 1>these things willingly or something like that, or basically just
<v Speaker 1>trying to get him to abdicate any rights here, and
<v Speaker 1>he refused to to sign that, and the police have
<v Speaker 1>still not contacted him, but they also have not given
<v Speaker 1>him back any of the things they took. Yeah, listen,
<v Speaker 1>do you have anything that like a Nintendo dev kit?
<v Speaker 2>Don't throw that out? No, Like, there's a reasons sake.
<v Speaker 2>Probably got the police involved.
<v Speaker 1>It's because they didn't want the Nintendo Ninjas to get involved. Still,
<v Speaker 1>if you do throw it out, what the hell you
<v Speaker 1>can't go at like you it's a scrapyard like that,
<v Speaker 1>that's free game at that point, What what do you
<v Speaker 1>expecting there?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, how do you read all this?
<v Speaker 3>This is insane grub. Also, I have no My perspective
<v Speaker 3>of the of the police is informed by living in
<v Speaker 3>the United States, so I had no idea what the
<v Speaker 3>UK police is like.
<v Speaker 2>That's a gang in every country.
<v Speaker 3>I just I can't imagine going to a scrapyard, getting
<v Speaker 3>a heap of electronics and then being told that I'm
<v Speaker 3>wanted for money laundering. Yep, that seems like an odd charge.
<v Speaker 2>It seems like a dream charge.
<v Speaker 1>Like money laundry is real deal, Like in the United States,
<v Speaker 1>that's federal time.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know. Again, I don't know what it's.
<v Speaker 1>Like in the UK, but I bet it's not, but
<v Speaker 1>you get in a lot of trouble for it. It's
<v Speaker 1>weird that that is even came up, because how is
<v Speaker 1>I mean, maybe there's this guy's doing something we're not
<v Speaker 1>aware of. It doesn't sound like though, sounds like he
<v Speaker 1>was just trying to preserve some video games.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I would have loved to see a prototype of Sonic
<v Speaker 1>Chronicles the Dark Brotherhood, the by Aware RPG that's kind
<v Speaker 1>of like Super Mario RBG and is a little bad.
<v Speaker 1>I want to see what you're working on. Early in
<v Speaker 1>that game means thinks and the guy got it fair
<v Speaker 1>and square. It's not his fault. Sega was irresponsible with it.
<v Speaker 1>He money laundering.
<v Speaker 3>It feels like one of those things where we are
<v Speaker 3>getting to a point grub slowly but surely where I
<v Speaker 3>will get arrested for a thought I have because yep,
<v Speaker 3>I you know, based off of this story. I was thinking, huh,
<v Speaker 3>I wish I would have taken the three DS Capture
<v Speaker 3>kit from the office, and then I started thinking, oh,
<v Speaker 3>I don't know where that is. And then I started thinking,
<v Speaker 3>oh crap, that's in Giant Bomb's name. Am I responsible
<v Speaker 3>for that? Am I going to get the cops called
<v Speaker 3>on me. Confine me.
<v Speaker 1>You should get that, we should get that. Technically we
<v Speaker 1>own that anything that was used for giant bombs ours.
<v Speaker 4>There's a lot of stuff that is god anyway anyway, Well,
<v Speaker 4>uh well, yeah, you're right, though, It's like, uh, it's
<v Speaker 4>stupid that that itould that it should be that risky
<v Speaker 4>to the point where Sega felt compelled to call the cops.
<v Speaker 1>You know, all of these deb kits are for deprecated systems.
<v Speaker 1>There are systems that are not being used anymore. If
<v Speaker 1>I'm not get a lot of it probably has a
<v Speaker 1>lot of proprietary technology and things and copyrighted materials that
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo owns. Uh, but so like these things are going
<v Speaker 1>to get out one way or the other.
<v Speaker 2>Lets of stuff grub.
<v Speaker 3>I feel like the way that this person was approaching
<v Speaker 3>it was for preservation purposes, right, not yeah, not in
<v Speaker 3>any malicious way to like steal code. But if they're
<v Speaker 3>stealing code, I don't know if like the person going
<v Speaker 3>to a scrapyard is going to know what to do
<v Speaker 3>with those numbers. Some people don't even know what an
<v Speaker 3>RSS feed is.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, even if he did, there are separate laws
<v Speaker 1>that would prevent him from violating copyright, and he has
<v Speaker 1>not done that. So it's like having access to the
<v Speaker 1>thing is not doing the crime. Yeah, and you know
<v Speaker 1>again this goes back to Sega could get in trouble
<v Speaker 1>with Nintendo. Say, Nintendo could be like, look, you signed
<v Speaker 1>a contract that said you would be responsible for these things,
<v Speaker 1>you would not let you would not throw them out.
<v Speaker 1>You've done that. That still does not lead to now
<v Speaker 1>this man should be punished for finding these things and
<v Speaker 1>spending money to purchase them in a fair exchange of
<v Speaker 1>goods and services.
<v Speaker 2>This is good bad shit.
<v Speaker 3>It's It's like if someone called the cops on me
<v Speaker 3>for picking up change that I found on the ground.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's yes, exactly the same. It's so that's my change,
<v Speaker 1>jam I had that. I spent it on a coffee once,
<v Speaker 1>but now it's on the ground. I listened, I was
<v Speaker 1>my property.
<v Speaker 3>Hey, hey grub, it's my lucky penny.
<v Speaker 2>Now.
<v Speaker 1>A shock movie will be based on the first game.
<v Speaker 1>This is from Ben Lyons at Game Reactor. Look, this
<v Speaker 1>is that Netflix project that has been in development seemingly
<v Speaker 1>for my entire life. I still don't believe it's gonna
<v Speaker 1>get made. This story is like, oh, yeah, we had
<v Speaker 1>to put it on hold, so you work on the
<v Speaker 1>script while the I think the attached director could work
<v Speaker 1>on the new what is he? He did The Long Walk,
<v Speaker 1>which is a Netflix show, and now he's also doing
<v Speaker 1>the new Hunger Games movies, So when he gets done
<v Speaker 1>with those, he's supposedly gonna come back and work on
<v Speaker 1>the BioShock movie that is getting reworked in the script phase.
<v Speaker 1>Now all that sounds like this movie is still never
<v Speaker 1>coming out. What I really wanted to ask you, Jen,
<v Speaker 1>is is this the like the pathway you want or
<v Speaker 1>you tend to want from video game adaptations to be
<v Speaker 1>like based on the first game? Or do you like
<v Speaker 1>the idea of sort of just being a loose adaptation
<v Speaker 1>or telling a new story.
<v Speaker 2>What do you typically.
<v Speaker 1>Want from a video game movie adaptation? If you want
<v Speaker 1>anything at all, I'm.
<v Speaker 3>Gonna lean towards not wanting anything at all. But if
<v Speaker 3>I had to choose a camp grub, I would kind
<v Speaker 3>of pick like a loose adaptation, kind of like the
<v Speaker 3>Mario movie. And maybe in my head at least, the
<v Speaker 3>best types of video game movies are just adaptations of
<v Speaker 3>the characters, primarily in an animated way. Versus like live action.
<v Speaker 3>Not that, like we wouldn't be able to pull off
<v Speaker 3>like a BioShock looking movie. I mean, like, look at
<v Speaker 3>just just do the Great Gaspy movie, but put it
<v Speaker 3>underwater and you're fine. Like Sonic has done incredibly well
<v Speaker 3>Mario movie. Of course, a lot of people are excited
<v Speaker 3>for the next Mario movie. Kids go wild for the
<v Speaker 3>Sonic movies. Grub, yes they.
<v Speaker 2>Do, and that third one's really good.
<v Speaker 3>Actually yeah, And I think I think some games are
<v Speaker 3>better suited towards being adapted to a series rather than
<v Speaker 3>a singular movie.
<v Speaker 2>While Out's proven that for sure.
<v Speaker 3>All that's definitely proven that The Last of Us is
<v Speaker 3>incredibly draining but is incredibly popular. And the cyberpunk anime
<v Speaker 3>on Netflix that breathed whole new life into that game
<v Speaker 3>and like got a lot of people to check it out.
<v Speaker 3>Same thing with the League of Legend show. I forget
<v Speaker 3>what it's called, uh oh arcane arcane? Yes, yeah, that
<v Speaker 3>got a lot of people to go back to League
<v Speaker 3>or check out League. I'm sorry for all of those people,
<v Speaker 3>and you know now they have to listen to an
<v Speaker 3>imagine Dragon song every time they watch the show.
<v Speaker 2>Look, there's worse fates. Not many, but there are some.
<v Speaker 2>H Yeah. I mean usually it's a case by case.
<v Speaker 1>I think I think about my opinion on it is
<v Speaker 1>that for all the listen, I love the Marvel movies.
<v Speaker 1>I'm also burnt down on them, but I still like them,
<v Speaker 1>and I think that they're way of taking comic books
<v Speaker 1>and taking a series from like a comic book and
<v Speaker 1>be like, we're gonna loosely adapt.
<v Speaker 2>This is the way to do it for most of
<v Speaker 2>these things.
<v Speaker 1>Take a game, take a DLC, take MI Nervous Den,
<v Speaker 1>take something and take all the good ideas from that
<v Speaker 1>and adapt those into the story. Like even like for
<v Speaker 1>Star Wars, I'm frustrated that they don't adapt their extended
<v Speaker 1>universe novels. There's like some sort of like that's not
<v Speaker 1>they still feel like it's not real Star Wars, that's
<v Speaker 1>not real art. That's all just like cash ins and
<v Speaker 1>stuff like that. And for sure a lot of it is,
<v Speaker 1>but it's not like the storytelling and in any other medium,
<v Speaker 1>comic books anywhere else that movies are drawing their stories
<v Speaker 1>from are that much better. So there are some really
<v Speaker 1>good cashion extended universe novels that they could be basing
<v Speaker 1>their stories on and the fact that they refuse to
<v Speaker 1>do so I think has hurt their ability to adapt
<v Speaker 1>new things into Star Wars movies, and they're kind of
<v Speaker 1>lost now.
<v Speaker 2>And if you have that material and you have.
<v Speaker 1>Touchstones, I think you can touch on it and then
<v Speaker 1>just do what you'd use those as tools to tell
<v Speaker 1>whatever story you're trying to tell.
<v Speaker 2>That's my preference here, I think, Greb.
<v Speaker 3>How do you feel about the upcoming seemingly in production,
<v Speaker 3>Ryan Guisling Star Wars movie.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean, I that's another one where it's like,
<v Speaker 1>will that ever come out?
<v Speaker 2>I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>I'm not getting my hopes up too high for it.
<v Speaker 1>I definitely have higher hopes for that than I do
<v Speaker 1>for the Felony verse stuff that which for the live
<v Speaker 1>action stuff has just not hit me at all.
<v Speaker 2>And if they are willing.
<v Speaker 1>To sort of, I think the thing that people are
<v Speaker 1>going to get sick of is, oh, just make it
<v Speaker 1>like and or, this is our and or. But that
<v Speaker 1>probably for now is still a good guiding light for
<v Speaker 1>how to tell a Star Wars story of treat it
<v Speaker 1>a little bit more serious than you thought you're supposed
<v Speaker 1>to treat Star Wars storytelling and believe that you can
<v Speaker 1>do bigger things with it, and then the rest of
<v Speaker 1>the things will kind of take care of themselves, because
<v Speaker 1>we're going to get the best production designers in the world,
<v Speaker 1>We're going to get the best visual effects in the world,
<v Speaker 1>we're gonna get all these other things that make Star
<v Speaker 1>Wars Star Wars. Those will just happen as part of
<v Speaker 1>the machine. So if you can get that story right
<v Speaker 1>and be willing to do something real with it, maybe,
<v Speaker 1>But I don't know. I kind of wish they would
<v Speaker 1>were doing a Rogue Squadron movie. This is one of
<v Speaker 1>those ones where, like adapt Rogue Squadron, they were supposed
<v Speaker 1>to do that. I know this is not that, though,
<v Speaker 1>and I wish they would just do that instead.
<v Speaker 3>Hey, I'm not gonna say I'm gonna say it here, Gang.
<v Speaker 3>I think Ray Goz is magic. I think he's a
<v Speaker 3>dreamy gentleman, and I love almost every movie he's in.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I'm like that is definitely a positive. And like
<v Speaker 1>one of the things that gives me hope is Ryan
<v Speaker 1>Gosling's involvement. I know he'll give it as all. He's
<v Speaker 1>the star in that project. Hil Mary adaptation that trailer
<v Speaker 1>trailer's out and it looks.
<v Speaker 2>Like a pretty good like they've done a good job.
<v Speaker 1>Like I really like the Martian, that other Andy Weir
<v Speaker 1>adapt adapted movie. I hope they can capture that same
<v Speaker 1>flare because that's a pretty good time.
<v Speaker 3>Last thing, Greb talking about Star Wars adaptations giving me
<v Speaker 3>Kyle katarn on some type of screen.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, please for real?
<v Speaker 1>Yes, these like there's a lot of video games, the
<v Speaker 1>classic video games now that they could adapt, like I
<v Speaker 1>wish on this Starfighter movie, Like, are they gonna adapt
<v Speaker 1>anything that happened in those games? Almost certainly not, And
<v Speaker 1>yet they really could, Like I mean, obviously I'm thinking
<v Speaker 1>of like the Rogue Squadron games. First, I played that
<v Speaker 1>more than the Jedi Starfighter, but I guess maybe there
<v Speaker 1>was a standard Star Fighter movie whatever.
<v Speaker 2>There's a lot of cool story.
<v Speaker 1>Elements like mon Matho's home planet is like showed up
<v Speaker 1>as a level and Rogue Squadron and it like had
<v Speaker 1>like cool architecture. It's like, just take some of that
<v Speaker 1>stuff and give it that flare of these things that
<v Speaker 1>have happened before and connect this universe back together.
<v Speaker 2>But we'll see. All right, let's get to the poll question.
<v Speaker 2>This one's from yesterday.
<v Speaker 1>What do you want to see at Nintendo's direct on Friday?
<v Speaker 2>What you most want to see?
<v Speaker 1>Your options were a Metroid Prime fours release date, Mario
<v Speaker 1>Anniversary games, a big new twenty twenty six game, or
<v Speaker 1>a Hades two shadow drop. Twelve percent when a Hades
<v Speaker 1>two shadow drop, that's probably like a lot of it.
<v Speaker 1>It's like, man, I already got silks on, we don't
<v Speaker 1>need that. Seventeen percent say the Mario Anniversary games that
<v Speaker 1>are maybe going to happen we'll see. Thirty four percent
<v Speaker 1>say a big new twenty twenty six game, and thirty
<v Speaker 1>seven percent responded with Metro Prime four release date. I
<v Speaker 1>bet Nintendo's gonna be happy to like have that fervor
<v Speaker 1>like of people.
<v Speaker 2>Like this is the thing we want from you right now.
<v Speaker 1>Do you think Metroy Prime four could break out beyond
<v Speaker 1>the confines of what Metroid has been before, where it's
<v Speaker 1>sort of been held back from its ability to get
<v Speaker 1>past three million copies sold? Could this breakout into like
<v Speaker 1>a much larger audience switch effect.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know, grub I don't either, I because when
<v Speaker 3>I think of like the switch to audience or even
<v Speaker 3>the switch one audience. The main game I think of
<v Speaker 3>is Animal Crossing versus like an FPS that is like
<v Speaker 3>kind of demanding of you. Yep, I Lost.
<v Speaker 1>Was perfect for that switch effect where people were like
<v Speaker 1>everyone had these switches and everyone was looking for a
<v Speaker 1>new experience and every frank Like Luigi's Mansion three kind
<v Speaker 1>of also was perfectory like a family style spooky game
<v Speaker 1>with a character that everyone recognizes and likes, and then
<v Speaker 1>it's ended up selling super well, way better than any
<v Speaker 1>of the previous ones had sold. I think there's reason
<v Speaker 1>think Metro Prime four will sell better than any Metrod
<v Speaker 1>game before it. But does it go doesn't do Luigi's
<v Speaker 1>Mansion three numbers fifteen million copies?
<v Speaker 2>Probably not.
<v Speaker 3>No, It just blows my mind that Metroid hasn't done numbers,
<v Speaker 3>and I feel bad I'm saying this, but in my head,
<v Speaker 3>and maybe this is just because of all the stories
<v Speaker 3>that we cover grub, I would assume that Nintendo would
<v Speaker 3>just deprioritize it.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean they definitely have historically deprioritized it because
<v Speaker 1>it didn't matter in Japan, and they've, you know, the game,
<v Speaker 1>the series has sort of fought against that and found
<v Speaker 1>a way to break through Anyhow, I just hope that, honestly,
<v Speaker 1>if Metro Prime four does really well in Japan, that
<v Speaker 1>would be fantastic because that would guarantee that Nintendo would
<v Speaker 1>take an interest in it long term like they do
<v Speaker 1>with Pigment and Splatoon.
<v Speaker 2>All Right, we did miss this. Someone.
<v Speaker 1>I want to hit this real quick. Borderland's four reviews
<v Speaker 1>are coming in. Seems a little sporadic. Who got code
<v Speaker 1>and who didn't, But right now it has an eighty
<v Speaker 1>five on Open Critic.
<v Speaker 2>Pretty decent reviews.
<v Speaker 1>You know, got an eight out of ten from Travis
<v Speaker 1>Northup at ign who says Borderlands four gives the series
<v Speaker 1>the massive kick in the pants it has needed, with
<v Speaker 1>a fantastic open world and greatly improved combat. Even bugs
<v Speaker 1>in invisible walls can sometimes or even though the bugs
<v Speaker 1>and invissib walls can sometimes.
<v Speaker 2>Throw off that groove, let's see here.
<v Speaker 1>Jordan ramy Remi at GameSpot gave it a seven out
<v Speaker 1>of ten and said, to its detriment, Borderlands four feels
<v Speaker 1>like a direct response to Borderlands three, which I think
<v Speaker 1>I've seen quite a bit of a people sam Borderlands
<v Speaker 1>four is like, clearly they took the feedback, but they
<v Speaker 1>kind of maybe overcompensated. I don't know a lot of
<v Speaker 1>good reviews here, though, a nine out of ten from
<v Speaker 1>Jku at Dual Shockers. The sheer diversity of character, gear
<v Speaker 1>and ways to have fun is never ending, and the
<v Speaker 1>open world format is surprisingly welcome addition to this amazing
<v Speaker 1>co op first person shooter. Borderlands four is a leap
<v Speaker 1>in the right direction, and I can only hope that
<v Speaker 1>this train continues.
<v Speaker 2>Upwards for the rest of the franchise.
<v Speaker 1>I am thinking I'm probably not gonna have time to
<v Speaker 1>play a lot of boarderlines for jan I have a
<v Speaker 1>lot of other games I'd rather be playing. But you
<v Speaker 1>know this, we'll at least play it on stream a
<v Speaker 1>couple times. Who knows, maybe it'll get hooks and meat.
<v Speaker 1>Sounds like a decent game.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, if it is fun enough, I could see us
<v Speaker 3>spinning it up, not just for a upf but maybe
<v Speaker 3>like a multiplayer stream throughout the week, perhaps if folks
<v Speaker 3>are also into it. I kind of have the appetite
<v Speaker 3>for it. But like you said, grab them two full
<v Speaker 3>of everything else.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, a lot on the plate at the moment. All right,
<v Speaker 1>we got a new poll question. We'll get to Actually,
<v Speaker 1>let's just do this now, are you more likely to
<v Speaker 1>put play the next far Cry if it has an
<v Speaker 1>emphasis on multiplayer?
<v Speaker 2>Yes or no.
<v Speaker 1>We'll get the results of that on Game Mess Mornings
<v Speaker 1>here on Giant Bomb Tomorrow to round out the week,
<v Speaker 1>speaking a Giant Bomb Jan and a little bit, I'm
<v Speaker 1>gonna play some hell as us, me and back are
<v Speaker 1>gonna hang out. And I played a little bit of
<v Speaker 1>it to kind of get it ready. I got to
<v Speaker 1>the title screen last night. It has a late title.
<v Speaker 1>It's always a fun time and it was a lot
<v Speaker 1>like True Detective that had that vibe to it. But yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I'm excited to play more of it. That game is
<v Speaker 1>really neat, and yet I still I'm still like putting
<v Speaker 1>my finger on its pulse to see exactly what's going
<v Speaker 1>on with it. But we're gonna do that, and then
<v Speaker 1>we have a bunch of other stuff happening. What else
<v Speaker 1>do we have happening? On Giant Bomb.
<v Speaker 3>Later today we have voicemailed dumb Truck with a friend
<v Speaker 3>of the site, Samantha Coleman. Tomorrow, Game Mass Mornings as
<v Speaker 3>well to end the week, and unprofessional Fridays, where I
<v Speaker 3>believe we're gonna try and play border Lance for We'll
<v Speaker 3>see bro, there's too many games coming out. I actually
<v Speaker 3>want them to delay Metroid Prime for because you know,
<v Speaker 3>there's a certain Tactics game that's coming out that's probably
<v Speaker 3>gonna consume a lot of me. There's a slot I
<v Speaker 3>got an email for a different slot machine game than
<v Speaker 3>the other one that I'm already playing, so you.
<v Speaker 2>Know their audience. I know who to hit with that.
<v Speaker 3>I feel targeted also, yo, I feel partially responsible for
<v Speaker 3>like saying, what if Haitis two shadow drops this Friday,
<v Speaker 3>let's go be fucked up.
<v Speaker 2>It'll be fucked up that one.
<v Speaker 1>They definitely should, just if they were planning to do
<v Speaker 1>it this month as a shadow drop.
<v Speaker 2>Please don't know, save our souls, please pos I want it.
<v Speaker 2>Let's see here.
<v Speaker 1>Super Chef from Resolute no fov slider on console for Borderlands,
<v Speaker 1>for which is bad for people like me who get
<v Speaker 1>motion sickness from base Field of Views.
<v Speaker 2>Co op only gives progression for the host. I will
<v Speaker 2>not solve that, especially.
<v Speaker 1>For a Borderlands right, that is so silly, like, how
<v Speaker 1>do you were now? How are you not making character
<v Speaker 1>progression when you're playing that game? That is silly, silly, silly.
<v Speaker 1>Uh oh Okay, remember maybe this character progression, but you're
<v Speaker 1>not progressing the story either way. It's like if I
<v Speaker 1>play a mission, just and I play it like before,
<v Speaker 1>I play a mission of my own game that I
<v Speaker 1>was supposed to play earlier.
<v Speaker 2>Than that, just skip it when I get there. How
<v Speaker 2>hard can that possibly be? I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>Option to skip?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, not right, an option to skip exactly. Okay, that
<v Speaker 1>is going to do it for the show. I believe
<v Speaker 1>we did the new poll question.
<v Speaker 2>Jim.
<v Speaker 1>We talked about the schedule. I gotta thank you for
<v Speaker 1>talking with me about video games. I always appreciate it.
<v Speaker 3>Man, It's the only way to start a Thursday. Oh
<v Speaker 3>real quick before we sign off. Hey, I know that
<v Speaker 3>the state of the world right now, especially here in
<v Speaker 3>the States, is really fucked up.
<v Speaker 2>Oh it's bad.
<v Speaker 3>Hey today, go distract yourself. Go play a fun video game.
<v Speaker 3>There's a ton of cup fun video games. If you
<v Speaker 3>don't want to go play something, hang out here on
<v Speaker 3>GiantBomb dot com and we'll we'll hang out with you.
<v Speaker 3>And this is a fun, good pocket of the world.
<v Speaker 3>And I hope that you feel welcome. I hope that
<v Speaker 3>you feel safe being here, and we love you so thanks.
<v Speaker 3>For hanging out.
<v Speaker 1>Goddamn right. We try to do that for each other.
<v Speaker 1>We're gonna do it for you guys too. We're back
<v Speaker 1>with more hang out. If you're watching live, stick with us.
<v Speaker 1>We'll be right back with Hell's Us not too long
<v Speaker 1>from now, ten fifteen minutes you know, usual swap over
<v Speaker 1>in the meantime.
<v Speaker 2>Thank you all for listening and watching. Your the best
<v Speaker 2>audience in gaming.
<v Speaker 1>Until next time, have a good one, take care of yourself,
<v Speaker 1>and goodbye.
