<v Speaker 1>Hey, everybody, Welcome to Games Mornings with Me Jeff Greb, <v Speaker 1>your host from GiantBomb dot com. Thank you for tuning in. <v Speaker 1>In this episode, we're gonna be talking about the surprise <v Speaker 1>return of a GameCube classic and what to expect at <v Speaker 1>the Game Awards. It's gonna be a good one because <v Speaker 1>we have Rachel Kaser on the show. Rachel, how are <v Speaker 1>you doing? <v Speaker 2>Hi, Jeff, I'm I'm tired already. H I'm kind of <v Speaker 2>just wearing a Rick discret at this point because I <v Speaker 2>know I'm gonna be up for probably the next twelve <v Speaker 2>hours at least, like I gotta do my regular workday, <v Speaker 2>and then we're gonna do the Jeff Keeley Show for <v Speaker 2>the next little while after this. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, it's it. <v Speaker 1>It's, you know, one of those big days of the <v Speaker 1>year for anyone who covers games. <v Speaker 2>Actually, yeah, luckily I only have to do this for <v Speaker 2>one night a year. Every other show out there I <v Speaker 2>can just bypass. But you never know something interesting might <v Speaker 2>happen tonight. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, Yeah, it's you know, I agree with that. <v Speaker 1>Like Opening Night Live, most people, even people who cover games, <v Speaker 1>are gonna be fine if they If they don't watch that, <v Speaker 1>you can catch up on the news the next day. <v Speaker 1>This is the one where it's like, oh, anything could happen. <v Speaker 1>It really is kind of that big now and for <v Speaker 1>all it's for all its faults. I think last year <v Speaker 1>it got on the right footing of being entertaining at <v Speaker 1>the very least, and then you know, it is what <v Speaker 1>it is around it was surrounding everything else about it. <v Speaker 1>It's a business to make money. And that's yeah, kind <v Speaker 1>of I've accepted that. I've said a bunch of times now. <v Speaker 2>I'm sure we're there's gonna be like bits and pieces <v Speaker 2>where we can just tune out, you know, we can <v Speaker 2>just like turn around, start texting each other like about <v Speaker 2>random stuff. <v Speaker 1>Son long periods of like seven games in a row <v Speaker 1>that are gotcha games, and yeah, absolutely, and. <v Speaker 2>The award that Jeff pretty much doesn't just kind of <v Speaker 2>like throws out there that. <v Speaker 1>Lappen during the commercial breaks. Yeah, we don't have to <v Speaker 1>worry about those getting out of their way, of course not. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, and then and then of course there's gonna be <v Speaker 2>like the Hideo Kojima break, which is when we're all <v Speaker 2>going to collectively go to the bathroom and heat up <v Speaker 2>our leftovers. <v Speaker 1>That's right, I uh, look, he might bring out someone famous. <v Speaker 1>I'm not going to miss a famous person, Rachel, that'd <v Speaker 1>be crazy. <v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, I mean obviously, like somebody in the chat <v Speaker 2>mentioned miss Piggy is going to be there. I will <v Speaker 2>be there, front and center. I will teleport out to <v Speaker 2>Los Angeles to see Miss Piggy. <v Speaker 1>That's been the real problem is like he's had the <v Speaker 1>Muppets and he always has Kojoma and they he never <v Speaker 1>has them interact. And I just think he's afraid to <v Speaker 1>let that happen because then he'll he knows Kojomo Coajima. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>Coochoba will be like, hey, no, I'm I got directly <v Speaker 1>a direct tie the Muppets. <v Speaker 3>Now, I don't need you anymore, Jeff Keey. And he's <v Speaker 3>afraid of that. <v Speaker 2>And I understand, Oh gosh, so is he. That's Jeff <v Speaker 2>Keeley's whole career now, as being the connection, the degree <v Speaker 2>of separation between Kojima and the Muppets, We've cracked the code, Grub, <v Speaker 2>We've cracked the code. <v Speaker 1>There, it is all right. Let's explain ourselves for Giant Bomb. <v Speaker 1>GiantBomb dot com slash join become a premium member. That <v Speaker 1>helps us because we are independent game media. This is from Evan <v Speaker 1>Campbell at GameSpot. Maybe as a holiday treat, Nintendo has <v Speaker 1>added a new GameCube title to Nintendo Switch Online plus <v Speaker 1>Expansion Pack subscribers, Out of the Blue. Warrial World is <v Speaker 1>now playable for the service on switch To. Originally released <v Speaker 1>in two thousand and three, Warrial World is a three <v Speaker 1>D platformer that sees the anti hero looking for payback <v Speaker 1>after his treasure is stolen in his castle destroyed. It's <v Speaker 1>made by treasure. This is a really, really good three <v Speaker 1>D platformer. Got dinged at the time for being too short, <v Speaker 1>and that was really the main complaint that people had <v Speaker 1>about it. Kind of makes it perfect for a fun <v Speaker 1>game to go back to these days, especially if you're <v Speaker 1>getting added to a service you already have to go <v Speaker 1>check out be like what were these games like if <v Speaker 1>I ever played it? Or hey I missed this, Let's <v Speaker 1>see what it's like. You don't have to like commit <v Speaker 1>yourself to a long playthrough. It's going to be a <v Speaker 1>couple hours of power and you're going to be out <v Speaker 1>of there. <v Speaker 3>Yeah. <v Speaker 1>I really enjoy this game. Glad to see it on <v Speaker 1>the NSO service. Any love for Warrior World. <v Speaker 2>I've never played Warrior World, so I'm kind of I'm <v Speaker 2>glad it's on because I played it recently. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, because I skipped out on it because I thought <v Speaker 1>it was bad and then it was like, oh no, <v Speaker 1>it's it's much better than I thought. <v Speaker 2>I told Jeff this, but I finally got my hands <v Speaker 2>on a switch to for Black Friday, so I've been <v Speaker 2>looking for something other than Bonanza and Metroid Prime for <v Speaker 2>to play on it. So there you go. <v Speaker 3>Oh no, you know, there, We're good. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, sorry, I I thought we'd cut out for a. <v Speaker 3>Second there Now, we're doing good so far. <v Speaker 2>Yep, okay, but yeah, I mean, I guess I'm the <v Speaker 2>target audience because now I to play Warrior World and <v Speaker 2>I can finally because I don't I don't currently have <v Speaker 2>a GameCube. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's it's the known, like the most known secret. <v Speaker 1>Turns out every treasure game like Slaps, even they're weird ones, <v Speaker 1>even though ones like like you know, Treasure, they're known <v Speaker 1>for shooters and all that stuff, and they are, but <v Speaker 1>they had they could do anything, including you know, that <v Speaker 1>Ronald McDonald game for the Genesis that also owns everything <v Speaker 1>they work on, just has the juice, and that includes <v Speaker 1>Warrior World. So this one's definitely worth going back to. <v Speaker 1>It was interesting, Rachel. They just added games to the <v Speaker 1>N sixty four nso like the day before this, and <v Speaker 1>that was two games. It was the Ubisoft platformers ray <v Speaker 1>Man two and Tonic Trouble. So it's like and then <v Speaker 1>a day later, yeah, we get this. So it's like <v Speaker 1>kind of feels like they're either piling them all up <v Speaker 1>in the last week of the year before everyone starts <v Speaker 1>going on vacation that sort of thing, or are they <v Speaker 1>doing something because it's like right before the game of <v Speaker 1>Awards and this like these games might be in a <v Speaker 1>sizzle reel or something like that, and they wanted to <v Speaker 1>announce them themselves. I don't know, it's just like, oh, cool, <v Speaker 1>we're getting a bunch of stuff all in this one week. <v Speaker 3>What do you think happened there? <v Speaker 2>I don't know. I feel like Nintendo, out of all companies, <v Speaker 2>is not the company that's going to be like, oh, <v Speaker 2>the Game Awards is coming, we better prepare something. So like, <v Speaker 2>I don't think they're necessarily building that building the NSO <v Speaker 2>library around the Game Awards. So my guess is probably <v Speaker 2>the former that they're just you know, they're like, you know, <v Speaker 2>we wanted to get these out before the end of <v Speaker 2>the year. The end of the year is coming up fast. <v Speaker 2>Everyone's going to be going on holiday break, so let's <v Speaker 2>let's give them something fun to play. <v Speaker 3>Yep. <v Speaker 1>I think you're you're probably right that when you look <v Speaker 1>at the calendar, this is when stuff's got to happen <v Speaker 1>if you want to get things done before the end <v Speaker 1>of the calendar year. <v Speaker 3>And yeah, here we are they Yeah, we all want <v Speaker 3>to get a. <v Speaker 2>Little fun out before the end of the fiscal quarter. <v Speaker 3>Exactly. <v Speaker 1>We are at a point now where the Switch to <v Speaker 1>had the GameCube games promised early on, I don't remember <v Speaker 1>them saying anything about Warial World is coming. So now <v Speaker 1>we are in a point where the games have either <v Speaker 1>all happened and now we're getting games that could come <v Speaker 1>out of nowhere. So that's that's exciting as long as <v Speaker 1>they keep up the release schedule for this. I'm I'm <v Speaker 1>a big fan of ns SO. <v Speaker 3>I enjoy it. <v Speaker 1>Even though I have a million ways to play these games, <v Speaker 1>still I find myself occasionally playing them on the Switch. <v Speaker 2>I mean, but if you don't have a million ways <v Speaker 2>to play this game, if you're not Jeff Grubb, like, <v Speaker 2>I don't have any other way to play Warrior World <v Speaker 2>right now, So I mean legally anyway, wink wink. <v Speaker 1>But so, yeah, all million ways I have to play <v Speaker 1>are definitely legal, that's right, exactly, Yeah, No, you're right. <v Speaker 1>This is for the vast majority of people who have <v Speaker 1>probably never even really thought about this game, let alone <v Speaker 1>have you know, ten different ways to play it. The <v Speaker 1>GameCube games on NSO have played pretty well. The emulation <v Speaker 1>was a little spotty early on, hopefully they continue to <v Speaker 1>make improvements, and like the CRT effect and stuff is <v Speaker 1>pretty good. <v Speaker 3>So it's a it's a good way to play those. <v Speaker 1>Games, all right, Yes, I want to hear back. Give <v Speaker 1>it a try on the next time we have you on, <v Speaker 1>I'm going to ask you about it. <v Speaker 2>Everyone remind me, okay, yeah, I will make a note <v Speaker 2>of it, all right. <v Speaker 1>Nintendo apparently paying forty one percent more on RAM to <v Speaker 1>build switch to amid memory shortages. This is from my <v Speaker 1>Nintendo news. This is the ongoing saga of RAM prices everybody. <v Speaker 1>I mean, I know it's been on like every show, <v Speaker 1>but there's a new tidbit every day. This is the <v Speaker 1>latest one. Nintendo's shares tumbled the other day due to <v Speaker 1>market concerns that the increased pricing of Nintendo switch To <v Speaker 1>and Nintendo Switch components will erode the Kyoto company's profit margins. <v Speaker 1>Bloomberg is Noting is reporting that the twelve gigabyte RAM <v Speaker 1>modules in Nintendo switch To consoles increased around forty one <v Speaker 1>percent in the current quarter, and the nand storage also <v Speaker 1>became nearly eight percent more expensive. <v Speaker 3>The shortages are also affecting the price of. <v Speaker 1>External SD express cards for the Nintendo switch To on <v Speaker 1>retailers such as Amazon. Basically, there's there's a quote here <v Speaker 1>that says all this. I think they said. Yeah, like <v Speaker 1>a two hundred fifty six gigabyte Express SD card lost <v Speaker 1>ninety dollars on Amazon. This is effectively a cost that <v Speaker 1>Nintendo has passed on to the gamer. Yeah, so as <v Speaker 1>with everything, the thing itself and the stuff for surrounding <v Speaker 1>it is all getting more expensive right now, it's getting <v Speaker 1>more expensive for a Nintendo. It does feel to me, Rachel, <v Speaker 1>like it's just a matter of time before the price <v Speaker 1>goes up on the switch To, because there is no <v Speaker 1>expectation that RAM prices are going to come down until <v Speaker 1>at least we're through the near the end at twenty <v Speaker 1>twenty six, if we're lucky. <v Speaker 2>So what do you Yeah, I think, yeah, that's kind <v Speaker 2>of one of the reasons why I bit the bullet <v Speaker 2>and went ahead and bought a switch To for Black Friday. <v Speaker 2>Didn't have a discount on the switch To. I did <v Speaker 2>have one on Bonanza, so I just went ahead and <v Speaker 2>got it while the going was good. But yeah, I <v Speaker 2>kind of get the impression that I kind of wonder <v Speaker 2>if they're going to repackage it, like maybe bundle it <v Speaker 2>with a new aim and you know, that way they <v Speaker 2>can kind of like disguise the price increase a little <v Speaker 2>bit by saying there's if there's a better profit, you know, <v Speaker 2>or if there's a better like proposition to it. That's <v Speaker 2>kind of how I anticipate it being, is that there's <v Speaker 2>going it's going to be bundled with something. When they <v Speaker 2>do that, they're going to try and make it appeal <v Speaker 2>because just saying yeah, we got to raise the prices <v Speaker 2>because you know, this is really the RAM is really <v Speaker 2>starting to grind into our profits. That's not going to <v Speaker 2>sell to anybody, you know. <v Speaker 1>They they've also given themselves a bunch of hatches, like <v Speaker 1>escape hatches, like in their pricing structure and in their packaging. <v Speaker 3>You're right, they said the. <v Speaker 1>Mario Kart World bundle was temporary, like it's going to <v Speaker 1>go away. Right now, it doesn't feel like there's any <v Speaker 1>indication that it's going to go away. I think they've <v Speaker 1>even stopped like mentioning that when they talk about it <v Speaker 1>in their marketing, like, oh, it's a limited time thing. <v Speaker 3>I don't think they're saying that. <v Speaker 1>All that often, but because they've said it before, at <v Speaker 1>any moment, they could be like, all right, that bundle <v Speaker 1>went away, and then you're right, they could replace it <v Speaker 1>with a bundle with a different game that or you know, <v Speaker 1>bring it back later at well you know that was <v Speaker 1>the introduction price. Let us just go to five twenty <v Speaker 1>because that's how much game is if you include the game, <v Speaker 1>So five hundred, that's twenty extra dollars to help cover <v Speaker 1>some of those costs of the RAM. They could just <v Speaker 1>do that, yeah. <v Speaker 2>Or or release in a different color, you know, like <v Speaker 2>just put out a bunch of like you know, neon <v Speaker 2>colored switch to s or something and raise the price <v Speaker 2>to five hundred. <v Speaker 3>Yeah. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's and that's like you're right, without a game, <v Speaker 1>raise it to five hundreds, from four fifty to five hundred, <v Speaker 1>and then with a game somewhere between five hundred and. <v Speaker 3>Five to fifty, probably probably all the way up to <v Speaker 3>five fifty. <v Speaker 2>So yeah, I'm not a funny way exactly lines, I'm not. <v Speaker 2>It's not a fun thing to think about, but this <v Speaker 2>is that is how marketing works, unfortunately. <v Speaker 3>Yeah. <v Speaker 1>I mean they just like you could tell they were <v Speaker 1>prepared for this, that they like thought about giving themselves <v Speaker 1>room to maneuver, and now here we are they already <v Speaker 1>are at a point where it's like they might need <v Speaker 1>to pull the trigger on that, and we were expecting <v Speaker 1>that to be the case because of all kinds of <v Speaker 1>other market conditions, but the RAM prices have really sort <v Speaker 1>of set a fire on that stuff. <v Speaker 2>So yeah, I'm expecting that for all consoles, by the way, not. <v Speaker 1>Just yeah more more increases for everything, right, And there's <v Speaker 1>already been recent increases for Xbox in PlayStation like multiple <v Speaker 1>in some of those cases. And yet yeah, I agree <v Speaker 1>with you, those prices are also probably going to go up. <v Speaker 1>It's it continues to be the biggest problem for traditional <v Speaker 1>console style gaming right now. Everything's getting more expensive, and <v Speaker 1>the kind of person that they might need to appeal <v Speaker 1>to to sort of bring new people in are going <v Speaker 1>to be the most price sensitive. Are going to be <v Speaker 1>the ones that's saying, I already have a phone, Why <v Speaker 1>do I need this other device that now costs almost <v Speaker 1>more than what I spent on that to play these <v Speaker 1>games that make that make sense to me? And it's like, well, <v Speaker 1>these companies have actually mostly given up trying to make <v Speaker 1>that make sense to win over that specific audience, but like, instead, <v Speaker 1>we will charge more for the core audience that we <v Speaker 1>already have, nickel and dime them a little bit increased <v Speaker 1>prices can lean on them exactly and squeeze us dry. <v Speaker 1>But you know, they've kind of worked through a lot <v Speaker 1>of us already, especially not if you're talking about Xbox <v Speaker 1>and PlayStation. I only sell us those things so many <v Speaker 1>more times. <v Speaker 2>Especially this generation is because I think this generation, I <v Speaker 2>mean it's not counting the OG switch. I feel like <v Speaker 2>it's just been I feel it's just a mindscrew sometimes, <v Speaker 2>Like I almost can't believe this generation is as old <v Speaker 2>as it is. This this we're almost in the next generation. <v Speaker 2>I mean, assuming that anybody even has the money to <v Speaker 2>make a new generation of consoles. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean they're gonna I mean it's going to be. <v Speaker 1>This RAM crisis really could delay things on their next <v Speaker 1>three I think so, yeah, because which are going to <v Speaker 1>need a lot of RAM, that's yeah, Like just the <v Speaker 1>conversation a year ago around RAM was like, actually, like <v Speaker 1>sixteen bit or sixteen bit, sixteen gigabytes is actually too <v Speaker 1>low now, Like that's not enough, you need thirty two gigabytes. <v Speaker 1>And then we're getting video cards that still had eight <v Speaker 1>gig gigabytes of a video RAM, and it was like, oh, <v Speaker 1>that's actually way too low now because there's several games <v Speaker 1>that even though no matter how fast this RAM is, <v Speaker 1>it's it's not enough to like cover like the saturate <v Speaker 1>or games. Yes, the games are saturating the memory on <v Speaker 1>these cards, and it's causing all kinds of struggles even. <v Speaker 2>Like the performance quality sometimes when you when you play games, <v Speaker 2>when when you go for performance on the games, sometimes <v Speaker 2>it's still it's still a drag. <v Speaker 1>Right, So the demand was already going up because you know, <v Speaker 1>we needed more in every device we were getting. <v Speaker 3>And now it's like this. <v Speaker 1>This external demand from AI has just completely destroyed everything. <v Speaker 1>It's and again when it pops, it's not like things <v Speaker 1>go back to normal. Micron close crucial. That's and that's <v Speaker 1>a consumer facing brand. Micron would still sell RAM to Nintendo, <v Speaker 1>of course, but it's it's going to be at a <v Speaker 1>marked up price. <v Speaker 2>Yeah all right, yeah, but no, no, just just kind <v Speaker 2>of like saying like, oh yeah it. <v Speaker 1>Hurts, yep, it's it's these prices are just gonna are <v Speaker 1>gonna get more and more painful. It's going to be <v Speaker 1>very frustrating. Uh all right, let's continue here. Uh this <v Speaker 1>is this is just a weird one. Uh, Nintendo switch <v Speaker 1>to Welcome to our wins Game Stops Worst Game of <v Speaker 1>the Year award. This is from Liam Dulan and Nintendo <v Speaker 1>basically on social media. Game Stop was just like doing <v Speaker 1>kind of its jokey awards. It's like it's Game of <v Speaker 1>the Year twenty twenty five was Halo three. But even <v Speaker 1>as a joke, this is a weird tone. <v Speaker 3>Like I. <v Speaker 1>Mostly I think this was a joke that might have <v Speaker 1>worked better, or a joke about this game would have <v Speaker 1>worked better when it was coming out. Now it's just <v Speaker 1>feel like this is behind us. No one's thinking about <v Speaker 1>this thing anymore. If they are, it's the people who <v Speaker 1>are weirdly into it, which I kind of found myself <v Speaker 1>eventually getting there. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, it shouldn't have cost ten dollars, but I don't know. <v Speaker 3>It's just like, is this gonna piss off Nintendo? I <v Speaker 3>don't know. <v Speaker 1>It's just a weird thing to do, Not that I care, <v Speaker 1>but it's just what Game Stops tone right now is bizarre. <v Speaker 2>Game Stop giving anything a Worst Game award for being overpriced. <v Speaker 2>That leaves a bad taste in the mouth. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, well, it's definitely like the how do you do <v Speaker 1>fellow kids vibes right like they think they. <v Speaker 3>Think they're on the team. Like, you're not on the team, bro. <v Speaker 2>No, no, no, no, Like, but what are you criticizing <v Speaker 2>Nintendo for exactly this? We've all already made this joke. <v Speaker 2>And it's not like this kind of gives the impression <v Speaker 2>of like, oh, we heard the kids talking about this <v Speaker 2>and they were kind of complaining about the price or <v Speaker 2>not that we actually played this, and you know, you know, <v Speaker 2>of course this is a joke. I don't necessarily think <v Speaker 2>they actually played this and were like, Wow, this is <v Speaker 2>a terrible piece of software. No, I think this is <v Speaker 2>just it's obviously a joke, but I don't know what <v Speaker 2>the punchline is exactly right, And this thing, this small <v Speaker 2>thing costs a little bit of money. <v Speaker 3>That's the joke. <v Speaker 1>And yeah, you said it best. We've all already made <v Speaker 1>it to death. And so it's like, I don't know, <v Speaker 1>it just has no teeth in this moment other than <v Speaker 1>looking weird from a company that would obstensibly sell you <v Speaker 1>this game. They would sell you this game. It's absolutely <v Speaker 1>come by game stops, worst game of the year. <v Speaker 3>It's just a weird thing. <v Speaker 1>I don't know, all right, And then Limited Run Games <v Speaker 1>is bringing NES's Jaws to Switch in massively expanded form. <v Speaker 3>This is from p J O'Reilly at Nintendo. <v Speaker 2>Life Nintendo Heavy Game mess Morning st. <v Speaker 1>I know, yeah, I'm trying to like, let's get them <v Speaker 1>all out of the way and then we'll go to <v Speaker 1>Break and then will be game wards heavy after that. <v Speaker 1>And they've got their signature offering of flashy physical editions <v Speaker 1>ready to devour for everything. Mostly it's just I'm interested <v Speaker 1>in that they're kind of improving things here a little bit. <v Speaker 3>Uh. <v Speaker 1>These new physical editions of the game come complete with <v Speaker 1>the eight bit original, now with now with modern conveniences such. <v Speaker 3>As quick Save. <v Speaker 1>But of course, the Star Turn is a massively expanded <v Speaker 1>Jaws enhanced edition that en bigots the adventure to incorporate <v Speaker 1>aspects from four of the Jaws movies rather than just <v Speaker 1>the good one. <v Speaker 3>It's it's kind of. <v Speaker 1>This is the words of PJ O'Reilly here, but I <v Speaker 1>echo them, PJ. I mean, Jaws is an all time classic, <v Speaker 1>and then there are other Jaws movies. Pre Orders for <v Speaker 1>this open December nineteenth. That Jaws game on the nes <v Speaker 1>is a really good game. It's like one of the <v Speaker 1>better played. <v Speaker 2>So I have to I don't know, I might just <v Speaker 2>have to be calling limited run games and being like, hey, <v Speaker 2>hook me up because I've never played this before. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, that's one where it's like I think it just <v Speaker 1>showed up in my house one day, Like a friend <v Speaker 1>came over one time, brought some games and he. <v Speaker 3>Left Jaws because and that would happen back then. <v Speaker 1>It's like, you know, you would end up swapping games <v Speaker 1>or our lit friends borrow stuff and you would never <v Speaker 1>see it again. It just became theirs and the same <v Speaker 1>thing would happen. You kind of all just accepted it. <v Speaker 1>It was like the Cat delivery system. It's like there's <v Speaker 1>a Jaws delivery system out there and eventually everyone just <v Speaker 1>gets to play it that way. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it kind of gets passed around you. <v Speaker 1>It was one of those where it's like most of <v Speaker 1>the time you get one of those, it's like this game, <v Speaker 1>there's a reason they don't care. <v Speaker 3>But Jaws. I'm like, there's something to this and I <v Speaker 3>really enjoyed it. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, that'll pop off the Yeah, December nineteenth four pre orders. <v Speaker 3>Okay, let's take that break. <v Speaker 1>We will begin getting into what to look forward to <v Speaker 1>from the game awards. Kind of have our thoughts one <v Speaker 1>last chance to sort of think about what could happen, <v Speaker 1>what we want want to happen after we take this break. <v Speaker 1>If you want to skip out on the ad break, <v Speaker 1>you can go to GiantBomb dot com slash join become <v Speaker 1>a premium member. There's an AD free version of the <v Speaker 1>video show and AD free version of the audio show. <v Speaker 1>Grab those in the meantime. We will be right back. <v Speaker 1>We are back. It's Game Mess Mornings. Jeff Grubb, Rachel Kaser, <v Speaker 1>Let's get right back into it. Kotaku sources reveal three <v Speaker 1>minute trailer at the Game Awards cost over. <v Speaker 3>One million dollars. <v Speaker 1>This is from Alyssamercante at Kotaku. I got this actually <v Speaker 1>via my Nintendo News because they did a good job <v Speaker 1>of getting the key bit. <v Speaker 3>But if you, if you, you should. <v Speaker 1>Actually go over to Kotaku read this full breakdown. She <v Speaker 1>really goes into kind of how the full mechanics of <v Speaker 1>how the Game Awards works. <v Speaker 3>It's a good read. It's worth getting those explanations. <v Speaker 1>Kutaku has been chatting with its sources regarding the Game Awards, <v Speaker 1>which kicks off tomorrow, and have discovered that it isn't <v Speaker 1>cheap to showcase your company's game at the annual event. <v Speaker 1>Sources informed the online publication that a sixty second trailer <v Speaker 1>would cost you up to four hundred and fifty thousand dollars, <v Speaker 1>and that a tasty three minute trailer could cost you <v Speaker 1>over one million dollars for the privilege. Thankfully, there are <v Speaker 1>some free spots for smaller video games, which which catch <v Speaker 1>host and yeah, with that that catch Jeff Keeley's I <v Speaker 1>basically he has to be like, hey, I'm into your game. <v Speaker 1>I've got some stuff spots for you. But yeah, this <v Speaker 1>is also something I've heard in the past, Rachel that <v Speaker 1>the prices are very high. Not surprisingly they do, and <v Speaker 1>they are going up every year. And that's just a <v Speaker 1>reminder of what this is. It is a way to <v Speaker 1>like the the award show was always a way to <v Speaker 1>build inventory slots to sell. <v Speaker 3>To marketers and advertisers. <v Speaker 1>That's the show, the whole shebang, and accepting that makes <v Speaker 1>it all kind of a little bit easier to recognize <v Speaker 1>what it is. So it's all just made up, doesn't <v Speaker 1>matter and we can just enjoy seeing the new games <v Speaker 1>and things. <v Speaker 2>Like that doesn't bother me at all that you know, <v Speaker 2>I feel like there are a lot of companies who <v Speaker 2>can definitely pay that price tag if they want to <v Speaker 2>slip in a three minute long trailer. Anybody who has <v Speaker 2>the time and energy to put together a three minute <v Speaker 2>long trailer for their game for the Game Awards, I <v Speaker 2>think they have the money to spend. And you know, <v Speaker 2>big major companies like the ones we're probably going to <v Speaker 2>talk about here in a few minutes. But yeah, it's <v Speaker 2>I would rather have major companies pay to put their <v Speaker 2>trailers in than artificially have a bunch of maybe unrelated <v Speaker 2>sponsors have to you know, find ways to shove their <v Speaker 2>ads in somehow, which I'm sure there's still eventually going <v Speaker 2>to be. We might eventually have to resort to that. <v Speaker 1>But yeah, and I think, you know, he he'll always <v Speaker 1>have the obvious sponsored segments will get you know, Samsung's <v Speaker 1>gaming service, whatever they advertise on there. <v Speaker 3>And you see that six or seven times. You're right. <v Speaker 1>The bulk of the run time is made up of <v Speaker 1>these trailers that pay for the whole thing. I think <v Speaker 1>the one thing that people note is, you know, because <v Speaker 1>those free spots are limited, many of the companies that <v Speaker 1>were nominated for awards would not be able to afford <v Speaker 1>to do this. They would not have the money to <v Speaker 1>like announce their game at the Game Awards, you kind <v Speaker 1>of have to hope you break through, you know. I <v Speaker 1>don't know what what he can do about that. I mean, <v Speaker 1>he can only have so many slots there, and he <v Speaker 1>is again just trying to make money. So maybe the <v Speaker 1>answer here is like we we shouldn't be so reliant <v Speaker 1>on the Game Awards as this one place to announce stuff. <v Speaker 1>And the reality is it's like, yeah, there are gonna <v Speaker 1>be other spots, but they are going to cost you <v Speaker 1>similar things like setting up at a summer game fest, <v Speaker 1>which again key Lee controlled in a lot of ways, <v Speaker 1>but setting up there is gonna cost you a ton <v Speaker 1>of money at the end of the day, not as <v Speaker 1>much as it would it would have cost for E three, <v Speaker 1>still would have cost a lot, and that's like a <v Speaker 1>different time of the year. Maybe you're not ready then <v Speaker 1>you want to do something now. Overall, though, it's like <v Speaker 1>I think again, last year he struck a good balance <v Speaker 1>of having fun announcements. <v Speaker 3>I think I thought the awards were pretty. <v Speaker 1>Good, and uh, it felt like the big stuff that <v Speaker 1>did pay to be there wasn't as annoying as it <v Speaker 1>had been in the pay If he can kind of <v Speaker 1>keep that balance, I'll be happy. <v Speaker 2>What do you think, Yeah, I think he finally last <v Speaker 2>year felt like he finally got tired of people yelling <v Speaker 2>at him to get his celebrity buddies off the stage <v Speaker 2>and actually let I think the nadier of the whole <v Speaker 2>thing was when Neil Nubahn went to go accept his <v Speaker 2>Best Performance award and he was pretty much chased off <v Speaker 2>the stage after ten seconds by the orchestra, and I <v Speaker 2>was like, could somebody please hose those musicians down. They're <v Speaker 2>too they're too excited. But yeah, I think he finally <v Speaker 2>finally got the message, and I would be fine with that. <v Speaker 2>I think the whole thing about you know, there's some <v Speaker 2>people who have nominated for Game Awards who would not <v Speaker 2>be able to show. I hate that because I you're right. <v Speaker 2>But at the same time, I think we're also sort <v Speaker 2>of like we're building an infrastructure in the game in <v Speaker 2>games industry post pandemic where smaller game creators have more <v Speaker 2>opportunities to show at other events, just not ones that <v Speaker 2>are as big as the Game Awards. And I'm hoping <v Speaker 2>that by starting at those smaller they can get be <v Speaker 2>in a position where they are in front of Jeff <v Speaker 2>Keey and he says, you know, this is a really <v Speaker 2>cool game. I want to put it at the Game <v Speaker 2>Awards for free. <v Speaker 3>Yep. <v Speaker 1>It's also streaming on Amazon Prime Video. <v Speaker 3>Is that Oh you think that? Do you think that <v Speaker 3>does anything that gets in front of more people? <v Speaker 2>I don't maybe, yeah, exactly. <v Speaker 1>That's where I'm at, I really I honestly don't know. <v Speaker 1>I would assume probably, but like maybe we get. <v Speaker 2>In like an infusion of Amazon money. Maybe we you know, <v Speaker 2>drop a trailer for you know, Fallout season two. I'd <v Speaker 2>be fine with that. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's just that, like for me, because the streaming <v Speaker 1>services are so on demand, I'm not like looking at <v Speaker 1>those services and necessarily for discovery of live content, like <v Speaker 1>you go to Twitch, you go to YouTube, you know, <v Speaker 1>there's a possibility for that. I'm going to Prime Video. <v Speaker 1>It's probably because I want to watch something very specific. <v Speaker 1>But I know they have like live sports on a <v Speaker 1>lot of these things now, so maybe that's changed, and <v Speaker 1>that's just a thing. <v Speaker 3>Yeah. Yeah, I don't know. I said the word. <v Speaker 2>I'm Texan, I'm Textan. I can't avoid sports entirely. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, of course. <v Speaker 1>Well, yeah, listen, sports is just a D and D <v Speaker 1>for the other nerds that can emit their nerds. <v Speaker 3>That's all it is. <v Speaker 1>There, you go, yeah, all right, let's see here a <v Speaker 1>new tomb Raider entry as a leaked ahead of the <v Speaker 1>Game Awards. This is from Ali Reynolds and Nintendo Life. <v Speaker 1>The Game Awards is taking place later today or early tomorrow, <v Speaker 1>depending on your time zone, but it seems that yet <v Speaker 1>another major announcement has leaked ahead of schedule. Supported by Eurogamer, <v Speaker 1>the cover art for a new tomb Raider entry has <v Speaker 1>cropped up online, along with a handful of screenshots. We <v Speaker 1>talked about this like, oh, there's something turmb Raider is <v Speaker 1>happening at the show. It sounds like it's a game, <v Speaker 1>sounds like it actually could be more than a game. <v Speaker 1>It could be I think Shanoby on reset Era was <v Speaker 1>teasing that it's going to be probably a show and <v Speaker 1>or the movie, and then the game will also be there, <v Speaker 1>so they're gonna have a bunch of tumb Raider stuff, <v Speaker 1>which hey, I just thought about. That explains why it's <v Speaker 1>on Amazon Prime Video, right, Oh here we go. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>where the tomb Raider stuff is going to be? Amazon's involved. <v Speaker 1>I think even in the game, I can't keep it <v Speaker 1>all straight, But yeah, you you ready for a new <v Speaker 1>tomb Raider. What do you want from them? <v Speaker 2>Absolutely, I've been waiting for a new tomb Raider game <v Speaker 2>for years now. But I don't know. I was looking <v Speaker 2>at the screenshots just now, and I don't know how <v Speaker 2>I feel about kind of like, there's it looks like <v Speaker 2>Laura looks completely different in some of the screenshots, So <v Speaker 2>that kind of casts a little bit of doubt in <v Speaker 2>my mind as to the authenticity of this. Maybe this <v Speaker 2>is just me, but you know those memes that came <v Speaker 2>out back when like Horizon Forbidden West came out, when <v Speaker 2>everyone was like, you know, making you know, yassifying a <v Speaker 2>loy like this is what real gamers want. New Lara <v Speaker 2>Croft kind of looks like that a little bit. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>It's like they're kind of like, yeah, it's like why <v Speaker 2>I understand the you know, the appeal, but why is <v Speaker 2>she wearing full glam in the middle of in the <v Speaker 2>middle of a jungle, Like I don't. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, it looks like a I spread Laara Craft is <v Speaker 1>what evalites and that's what it looks like to be Definitely, yeah, it's. <v Speaker 2>It's TikTok filter Lara Croft, and I don't Also, Legacy <v Speaker 2>of Atlantis feels like a title that is like maybe <v Speaker 2>stuck in the early two thousands. I don't know if <v Speaker 2>they'd go with I mean, I don't know if that's <v Speaker 2>the final title. <v Speaker 1>And I think that that is what they're going for <v Speaker 1>here is Okay, this one's a nostalgia play. I think <v Speaker 1>they're like, we're going back to the original. <v Speaker 3>Lara Croft, her boobs, her back bros. <v Speaker 1>And also we're going to like kind of make it <v Speaker 1>a little bit more shlocky. <v Speaker 3>And it's like, okay, yeah, I mean that's. <v Speaker 2>The vibe they're going for. Then I can get behind <v Speaker 2>it because I do. I do have a lot of <v Speaker 2>fond memories of early two thousands Lara Croft so and <v Speaker 2>the original. So if that's what they're going for, then <v Speaker 2>I'm fine with it. But I if they're just remaking <v Speaker 2>the original game, I might be a little disappointed because <v Speaker 2>we've already done that multiple times. I want a new <v Speaker 2>Raider game. <v Speaker 1>Agreed, all right, Well, that that's tomb Raider. Meanwhile, Braid <v Speaker 1>creator Jonathan Blow, Who's I think you're a weird guy, <v Speaker 1>Jonathan Blow. Anyway, Eric Eric hittelback Furu at Game Reactor <v Speaker 1>has written a story over here that he is teasing something. <v Speaker 1>He has an announcement of an announcement. It's been very <v Speaker 1>close to ten years since Jonathan Blow and the other <v Speaker 1>talented developers at THEKLA Inc. Released their last game, The Witness. <v Speaker 1>There was also Braid Anniversary Edition, so we've waited a <v Speaker 1>very long time for the follow up to what I <v Speaker 1>still think is one of the best and most memorable <v Speaker 1>puzzle games ever. I also really like The Witness. Fortunately, <v Speaker 1>The Weight will soon be over. Jonathan Blow has published <v Speaker 1>a video on YouTube where he reveals that theckla's new <v Speaker 1>game will be unveiled at the Game Awards in twenty <v Speaker 1>five hours. <v Speaker 3>And that was yesterday. <v Speaker 1>It's going to be unveiled tonight. He basically was like, <v Speaker 1>you know, we just watched the Game Awards. What if <v Speaker 1>something happened at the Game Awards. Does seem like he <v Speaker 1>must have done something to get his game in there, <v Speaker 1>either paid or maybe got one of those slots, although <v Speaker 1>I feel like Jeff Keey would make him pay. <v Speaker 3>To show off a new game. <v Speaker 1>Likely, Uh, he did recently release Braid Anniversary Edition and <v Speaker 1>didn't do very well. <v Speaker 3>I think that's what my memory is. <v Speaker 1>He was complaining about discovery on PlayStation because he couldn't <v Speaker 1>find his game on the PlayStation store or something. <v Speaker 3>I don't know. <v Speaker 1>Do you think he's got something like new and exciting <v Speaker 1>or is maybe this is like a Witness remastered or something. <v Speaker 2>I think the way he's phrased it, I think there's <v Speaker 2>probably something new. Whether that is actually exciting to anyone <v Speaker 2>is a whole nother bag of you know, that's a <v Speaker 2>whole nother question, because I don't. I don't know. I <v Speaker 2>think I think it would. I don't think there's ever <v Speaker 2>been a point in my life where someone said, did <v Speaker 2>you hear Jonathan Blow's got a new game coming out? <v Speaker 2>And I felt intense excitement for that. So and it's <v Speaker 2>I definitely don't feel that way now. So I'm curious <v Speaker 2>to see if anything he if anything THECKLA related, shows up, <v Speaker 2>But I don't know if I'm I don't I'm not <v Speaker 2>exactly going to be hanging on the edge of my <v Speaker 2>seat waiting for the Jonathan Blow game to show up. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's uh, you know, I really did like the Witness. <v Speaker 1>I've tried to get into Braid a bunch of times. <v Speaker 1>I just it never I never clicked with it, so Yeah, it's. <v Speaker 2>Been pit copy of Braid around here somewhere. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, that's yeah. <v Speaker 1>That was originally xblay and then it kind of exploded <v Speaker 1>and went everywhere. <v Speaker 3>Yeah. <v Speaker 1>I so he's hitting miss with me, and I'm who knows, <v Speaker 1>maybe the next one will hit. Maybe it won't. I'll <v Speaker 1>have to wait and see, but maybe we'll get a <v Speaker 1>chance here. I guess it's just, uh, he doesn't seem <v Speaker 1>like the kind of guy that would want to announce <v Speaker 1>his game at the Game Awards, and this video does <v Speaker 1>give off the vibes that he is like kind of <v Speaker 1>reluctantly and mad about having to do this. So he's like, just, <v Speaker 1>you know, we paid a bunch of money, you better <v Speaker 1>go watch this thing. <v Speaker 3>That sort of a sense there. <v Speaker 1>I think it does this one more than anything, does <v Speaker 1>speak to this idea that if you have a game <v Speaker 1>and you and you need to make sure that people <v Speaker 1>know about it, that you that you can't rely on <v Speaker 1>PlayStation PlayStation's discovery, You're gonna have to pony up the <v Speaker 1>money and go to the Game Awards. Because that is <v Speaker 1>the one thing that I think a lot of pr <v Speaker 1>companies and uh you know, uh publicity companies will tell <v Speaker 1>these developers when they get hired. Is it's worth the <v Speaker 1>money to go to the Game Awards? And I think <v Speaker 1>this speaks to that. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, I mean, I'm I will be fair and say <v Speaker 2>that if he shows anything that looks interesting, I will <v Speaker 2>acknowledge it as such, Like I hope, I hope the <v Speaker 2>game he shows, if he does show anything, is more <v Speaker 2>than just the Witness remastered. But you know, he's got <v Speaker 2>the same shot as anybody else. <v Speaker 1>Uh yep, I think he doesn't have the same shot <v Speaker 1>at not being weird, though I think you're weird, Johntha Blow, <v Speaker 1>you stopped doing the things you. <v Speaker 3>Do, all right? <v Speaker 1>The Game Awards twenty twenty five is tonight. Uh once, <v Speaker 1>let's just go over like the specific details about when, <v Speaker 1>just so people know, especially in regards to what we're doing. <v Speaker 1>Uh So, four thirty pm Pacific time tonight is when <v Speaker 1>the pre show starts. We are gonna start at half <v Speaker 1>an hour before that, so around four pm that's four <v Speaker 1>pm Pacific time, seven pm Eastern you can tune in <v Speaker 1>and watch us. We're gonna do our talk over hangout. <v Speaker 1>We got we got our Bingo cards. I got to <v Speaker 1>hand those out to everybody, but we have our Bingo <v Speaker 1>cards for what's gonna happen. There is like a repository <v Speaker 1>on the Reddit. I think of like a bunch of <v Speaker 1>different cards or variations on the cards. So if you <v Speaker 1>want to play along, go ahead and grab yours. It's <v Speaker 1>gonna be a good time. <v Speaker 2>I will play it. <v Speaker 3>Yes, we can check. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, absolutely, We'll make sure you get the link to <v Speaker 1>the Budeo cards. It's it's a good time. Yeah, we're <v Speaker 1>looking forward to it. So and I think a Joyz <v Speaker 1>I'll put that together for us, So, thank you so much, Joyz. Yeah, okay, <v Speaker 1>we're we got a few minutes here. <v Speaker 3>It was. I think it's a light news day because. <v Speaker 1>The Game Awards is happening and everyone's like, let's yes, <v Speaker 1>we're gonna wait for that, so let's do our final <v Speaker 1>thing here. What do you think is gonna happen to <v Speaker 1>the Game Awards? Do you think Half Life three is <v Speaker 1>actually gonna be real? <v Speaker 3>What are your expectations? <v Speaker 2>I think if Half Life three is, they wouldn't need <v Speaker 2>to bother with the game. I think that is the <v Speaker 2>one game I can think of where they could they <v Speaker 2>could drop that news on a random Tuesday and everything <v Speaker 2>would explode. They don't need the game Awards. <v Speaker 1>That's that's detainly the best case against this, right because <v Speaker 1>that is the rumor right now it will get announced <v Speaker 1>to the Game Awards. And whenever someone says that point, <v Speaker 1>I'm like, yeah, I don't get why they need this <v Speaker 1>other than I know they have a good relationship with <v Speaker 1>Jeff Keeley. <v Speaker 3>That's the thing. <v Speaker 1>Mate was able to bridge that gap and like you <v Speaker 1>don't need this, but and came up with some solution <v Speaker 1>and like make it, made it sound cool and promise <v Speaker 1>to handle all the production or something like that. <v Speaker 2>But that I mean, I can not say I wouldn't <v Speaker 2>be happy. I would be happy if they announced Half <v Speaker 2>Life three at the Game Awards. It just doesn't feel <v Speaker 2>it doesn't feel likely that they, you know, would offer <v Speaker 2>that up at the Game Awards when on any this <v Speaker 2>is any night when they have to compete with a <v Speaker 2>bunch of Yes, it would be the most remarkable news <v Speaker 2>of the night, but it's still having it's still having <v Speaker 2>to share space with a bunch of other game announcements, <v Speaker 2>and I I think Halflay three is the one game <v Speaker 2>that can that whose announcement just kind of would stand <v Speaker 2>on its own and would have equal impact no matter <v Speaker 2>where they announced it. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I think we get maybe some like winners on <v Speaker 1>stage are people who think they know they're going to <v Speaker 1>be winners kind of come out and be like, and <v Speaker 1>we have some more for our game, or maybe they <v Speaker 1>are already to We're ready to tease something new, but <v Speaker 1>like DLC for something like Expedition thirty three, I could <v Speaker 1>see that happening. Yeah, Like, is there anything that you've <v Speaker 1>been like pining for that you like, Oh, finally the <v Speaker 1>Game Awards could be the place where it shows up. <v Speaker 2>I really want to see. I'm really hoping we get <v Speaker 2>any very particular to me. I want to see a <v Speaker 2>trailer for the remake of Assassin's Creed Black Flag. <v Speaker 3>Oh yeah, yeah, I want that. <v Speaker 2>Well, I mean because I finally managed to I did <v Speaker 2>I speaking of RAM shortage, I'm grateful I got a <v Speaker 2>new PC recently before things really started to pop off, <v Speaker 2>so I finally have a PC where I can play <v Speaker 2>the new assassins. So I've kind of been getting back <v Speaker 2>into Assassin's Creed again, so I'm like, I want more <v Speaker 2>Assassin's Creed. Please give me more Assassin's Creed. I think <v Speaker 2>the other one I want to see more Resident Evil again. <v Speaker 2>That's something very particular to me, and I think they're <v Speaker 2>going to show off more Requiem stuff because it's coming <v Speaker 2>up pretty soon. So this feels like a good, a <v Speaker 2>good beat in the marketing cycle. <v Speaker 1>I yeah, I agree, And they've been at the Game <v Speaker 1>Awards before. I mean they basically also said like, something's <v Speaker 1>happening with Resident of Evil here, so I'm expecting that, <v Speaker 1>and Requiem's out in weeks and it's February, but yeah, <v Speaker 1>we can count it in a handful of weeks. So yeah, <v Speaker 1>they're gonna want to like remind everybody about that right now. <v Speaker 1>For me, it's it's Castlevania with the with the caveat <v Speaker 1>and the recognition that I know Konami and Kihlei are <v Speaker 1>still mad at each other. Kiley's bitter that they treated <v Speaker 1>Kojima so poorly, and he's like, I'm not gonna be <v Speaker 1>friends with you, but I think money could talk, and <v Speaker 1>I just really that's mostly me, like on a lot <v Speaker 1>of cope of like, oh, I hope we hear about that, <v Speaker 1>and what if it happened here. It's probably not going <v Speaker 1>to happen here, but I would. <v Speaker 3>Pop off if we saw Caslvania. <v Speaker 2>That would be very That would be that would be fun. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>maybe maybe Fable. Do you think Fable might show up? <v Speaker 1>If Fable is still real in coming out? And it's like, <v Speaker 1>if it's not, they should have just canceled it alongside <v Speaker 1>Perfect Dark. <v Speaker 3>Then yeah, why not now? <v Speaker 1>Other than yeah, other than the fact, right, yes, other <v Speaker 1>than the fact that that game might not even be coming. <v Speaker 3>Out next year. So who knows. <v Speaker 1>I mean, it just feels like such vaporware. <v Speaker 2>Oh and somebody mentioned the statue and I've completely like <v Speaker 2>blocked the statue from my mind because I feel like <v Speaker 2>that's just such a weird marketing gimmick. <v Speaker 3>It is, it does sound like it's been solved. Do <v Speaker 3>you want to know? <v Speaker 2>Yeah? Sure, tell me. <v Speaker 1>Okay, it's so people found a trademark for Divinity from <v Speaker 1>Larry and STOs. Yeah, and then they laid that trademark <v Speaker 1>over it and it lines up kind of perfectly. <v Speaker 3>Now. <v Speaker 1>They kind of came out and were like, hey, look, <v Speaker 1>we promise you there's nothing happening with Divinity Original Sin <v Speaker 1>three in so many words, that's what they said. And <v Speaker 1>it's like, oh, but you know, Original Sin was always <v Speaker 1>a spin off from a different Divinity series that wasn't <v Speaker 1>as popular. <v Speaker 3>Maybe they're going back to that. <v Speaker 2>I mean that does sound that was Larryan's original baby, <v Speaker 2>so yep, I so that would be that would be <v Speaker 2>exciting if that's what it was. <v Speaker 1>And then yeah, and then we did get excited for <v Speaker 1>that statue maybe even being related to Altered Beast. <v Speaker 3>That doesn't seem like that's the case. <v Speaker 2>Would I would smile if it was. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, it would would be silly. <v Speaker 1>But I do want to see more of those Sega <v Speaker 1>like callback games, those sort of hey, we're being bringing <v Speaker 1>back everything from your childhood, we're doing jet set Radio. <v Speaker 2>And I'd be happy to see those there. That'd be great. <v Speaker 1>Those originally sort of that first sizzle real they had <v Speaker 1>the first five of those games, including Shinobi, was first <v Speaker 1>at the Game. <v Speaker 2>Awards, so it was I remember that. <v Speaker 1>Let's get an update about that and maybe get some <v Speaker 1>real looks at some of these other games. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. I think the other one that comes to mind <v Speaker 2>maybe Pragmata. I wouldn't mind seeing more of that. It's <v Speaker 2>I like, I liked what I saw of it so far. <v Speaker 3>I think I're wrapping up here. Yeah. <v Speaker 1>So like Half Life three is just such an easy <v Speaker 1>pie in the sky Castle Vania is like a personal <v Speaker 1>hopeful thing. Uh, like I'm trying to think of like <v Speaker 1>what is likely to happen. I guess that was the <v Speaker 1>Expedition thirty three stuff. I don't know beyond that. I <v Speaker 1>wonder if we will see anything from Nintendo. I do <v Speaker 1>continue to think like they've done stuff in the past, <v Speaker 1>but not much like I think like some Zelda games, <v Speaker 1>some Zelda spinoffs have been here. Yeah, but I just <v Speaker 1>think they're probably gonna wait until they have their next <v Speaker 1>direct next year, so not much from them. <v Speaker 2>No, there was something else. Uh, I think Wolverine is <v Speaker 2>gonna be there probably. <v Speaker 3>Uh yeah, well, that's that is right. <v Speaker 1>There are also rumors that PlayStations can have quite a <v Speaker 1>few things at the show, so they'll talk about sorrows, <v Speaker 1>which they I think they've already confirmed they'll talk about sorrows. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, sorrow confirmed. <v Speaker 1>There will be some other thing there apparently, according to <v Speaker 1>some rumors. Uh, and that's that sounds about right. I've <v Speaker 1>been asking around a little bit, but it's like things <v Speaker 1>are pretty tight lift and then uh, you know, now <v Speaker 1>it's like when things start to shake loose because everyone's <v Speaker 1>at the JW and everyone's like swapping stories. But now <v Speaker 1>it's so close that it's like, let's just uh, let's <v Speaker 1>see what happens. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, let's just walk in and uh, you know, twenty <v Speaker 2>four hours from now, we'll know for. <v Speaker 1>Sure exactly by the next time we do this show, <v Speaker 1>we will have all the answers. All right, let's start <v Speaker 1>wrapping up. We have a poll question from yesterday, Sean. <v Speaker 1>I'll give you a second to get that up for everybody. <v Speaker 3>I got it this time. We gucco. Oh, he's got it. <v Speaker 2>Robbie. I'll be back with you tomorrow morning. Being like Jeff, Jeff, <v Speaker 2>why am I up so early? <v Speaker 3>Oh? Yeah, we should. <v Speaker 1>We should force you to do it back to back <v Speaker 1>so you make the work. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, I like, I'm awake, leave me alone. <v Speaker 3>All right. <v Speaker 1>So we have the results here. What kind of gp <v Speaker 1>GPU do you have? Let's see, Nvidia, AMD, Intel, Slash. <v Speaker 1>I don't know, don't have a PC, Sean. I'm actually <v Speaker 1>looking at the feeds, so go ahead and click it. <v Speaker 3>There we go. He did. <v Speaker 1>Uh, sixty two percent have Invidia. <v Speaker 3>Not too surprising, and it's always sort of the market leader. <v Speaker 3>That Yeah. <v Speaker 1>Same here, seventeen percent have AMD. Two percent actually have Intel. <v Speaker 1>I wonder I bet people are including like their integrated <v Speaker 1>chip on their laptop as well as those like B <v Speaker 1>six fifties or whatever they are. And then nineteen percent <v Speaker 1>say I don't know or don't have a PC. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>you know, we kind of did this kind of talk <v Speaker 1>about OHAMD closing the gap a little bit with its <v Speaker 1>rebranding of FSR four yesterday, and it's like, yeah, tech <v Speaker 1>is improving, but it's never surpassing in Vidia, at least <v Speaker 1>on the GPU side of things. Obviously on the CPU <v Speaker 1>like they're the Leader's video doesn't have CPUs. But you <v Speaker 1>know what I mean, I continue to just kind of <v Speaker 1>default to Nvidia because of the tech and and I <v Speaker 1>think that's where most people are at, even when you <v Speaker 1>could save some money by going the AMD route. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, and I've bought the before I had the current one. <v Speaker 2>The one I bought was already because this was during <v Speaker 2>the great GPU shortage, and I got it pre built. <v Speaker 2>I got a pre build, so and that one had <v Speaker 2>an Nvidia already package in with it. So I was like, <v Speaker 2>you know what, I'm not going to change it. <v Speaker 3>It looks good, exactly, all right. <v Speaker 1>We have a new pool question we'll get to in <v Speaker 1>a second. Before we do that, though, Rachel Kayser, Why <v Speaker 1>don't you tell people where they can find you on <v Speaker 1>the internet what you have going on all that good stuff. <v Speaker 2>Uh, you can find me everywhere under my name Rachel Kayser. <v Speaker 2>I'm also on Twitch, which I'm trying to get back <v Speaker 2>into streaming again a little bit while we're on the <v Speaker 2>holiday period. Well I've got a little bit of free time, <v Speaker 2>but I am at Grace of Athena. I'm in the <v Speaker 2>Giant Bomb chat every now and then, so you can <v Speaker 2>probably find me there. And by the way, uh, Sean <v Speaker 2>just put this up. This is a photo of Mike <v Speaker 2>Manati's mural that kind of stalked me and SA when <v Speaker 2>I was last in San Francisco. I just saw that <v Speaker 2>staring at me from across the street and I was like, Mike, <v Speaker 2>what are you doing here? Anyway? <v Speaker 1>Said this to me and I was like, oh yeah, God, <v Speaker 1>he's everywhere. <v Speaker 2>I said it to Manati first and I was just like, <v Speaker 2>why are you watching me? And so, yeah, you can <v Speaker 2>find me all social media sites, and I'm also on TikTok, <v Speaker 2>where I've been on a bit of a hiatus for <v Speaker 2>my health, but I am trying to get back into it, <v Speaker 2>especially now that we're going to do the Game Awards. <v Speaker 2>I'm going to do a big Game Awards post event recap. <v Speaker 1>Oh fine, all right, excellent, all right, we got that <v Speaker 1>new poll question and it's one we're going to save. <v Speaker 1>We're not going to post it until later. Is their <v Speaker 1>way to schedule, Sean, I guess that's something you can ponder. <v Speaker 3>Well, I tell people what it is. <v Speaker 1>Grade the Game Awards ABC D or lower. By the <v Speaker 1>time we do this show, we'll be on the other side. <v Speaker 1>So we'll post this tonight after the awards. <v Speaker 3>Remind me tomorrow at seven am. Grade the Game Awards. <v Speaker 3>There you go, everybody. <v Speaker 1>So we will get that up there on Giant Bomb's <v Speaker 1>YouTube post page. You can vote there, we'll get the results, <v Speaker 1>talk about it here on Games Mornings on giant Bomb tomorrow. <v Speaker 1>Speaking of Giant Bomb, yeah, it's the Game Awards tonight. <v Speaker 1>We have some I think we're gonna do the voicemail <v Speaker 1>dump truck and all that stuff. But we'll get back together, <v Speaker 1>hang out, get all fancy, have a good time and <v Speaker 1>enjoy the Game Awards. <v Speaker 3>Yeah. Nice, you're right. I should. <v Speaker 1>We should order out, have some some cheesecake Factory, the <v Speaker 1>fanciest restaurant I could think of going over. <v Speaker 3>At the house. It's gonna be a good time looking <v Speaker 3>forward to it. <v Speaker 2>I mean, this is the only way to get through <v Speaker 2>times like these is with cheesecake. <v Speaker 1>If these ladies, oh that's right, yes, God, Golden Girls <v Speaker 1>is so good. All right, Rachel Kazer, thank you so <v Speaker 1>much for hanging out with me today and talking about <v Speaker 1>video games. <v Speaker 3>I really appreciate you're inviting me. <v Speaker 2>It's always fun to be here. <v Speaker 3>Yep. <v Speaker 1>Thank you everybody for watching and listening. You are the <v Speaker 1>best audience in gaming. Until next time, have a good one, <v Speaker 1>take care of yourself and goodbye bye.
