Speaker 1: Welcome back to Bachelor Happy Hour everyone, and today with us we have our thirty year old mechanical engineer from Nashville.

00:00:10
Speaker 2: Everyone. Welcome, Casey. Hi, Casey. Oh now we can't hear you.

00:00:19
Speaker 3: Hey, I'll do it. I uh with me today. My microphone wasn't working at first, so yeah, to get it working, my bad.

00:00:28
Speaker 2: Incredible, Wait you made that I did.

00:00:32
Speaker 3: I did very late last night, got this thing all done and made it and spins and everything like that. So it's probably like the tastes.

00:00:41
Speaker 2: I know, he's like, no big deal last night.

00:00:43
Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, right, I got done just in time. I was very excited when I woke up this morning and it was ready. It took nineteen hours. Oh so it's not like I'm there the whole time. You know, you just say, yeah, here going like for a little bit, so you got to sleep in headphones. But other than that, like it's it's very easy work. You just hit a button minute it does all the work. Wow.

00:01:05
Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.

00:01:06
Speaker 1: I'm very curious about your job, and we'll get into that. But obviously, welcome to back to the happy Hour. I want to get into really just how you're feeling. We're so happy to have you here and honestly just to get to know you a little bit better. But I do know and understand that you know, the past week has probably been very up and down and all over the place for you guys.

00:01:25
Speaker 2: So how are you?

00:01:27
Speaker 3: Definitely? Definitely, And I have to say before I say that this is my first sever podcast, So thank you guys so much for having me. This is such a cool experience, a better place to start.

00:01:37
Speaker 2: Oh, I love that.

00:01:39
Speaker 3: Yeah, awesome it Yeah, I mean, I mean I have the two best hosts here, so it's it should be very easy. It's I don't I don't really know how to feel about a lot of things. I mean, we've been playing a waiting game for a while, as I'm sure I remember, like the it's been a few months and things are wrapped, and we've been waiting for a few months for the premiere. Gosh, we were waiting for the announcement, we were waiting for the premiere. I know, after the premiere came out, we'd be waiting for episode two. So like I'm used to this waiting game. What I'm not used to is not knowing what comes next. And as a planner, like I think if I focused on that too much, I'd drive myself crazy a little bit. So I've trying to take a backseat approach to everything and just know that, like the people that are that are looking into things are looking into things, and there's a lot more that has to happen, and I can be patient, Like I mean, I looking on the bright side of things. My experience on the Best of Orette was like the most transformative internal experience that I've ever had in my entire life. And it's crazy that it happened in such a short amount of time. So like I'll have that with me and I can take that with me, and I have been able to take that with me like wherever I've gone, and that's that's incredible. I think the thing, obviously, I'm disappointed in that. I think the thing that I'm disappointed about the most is like, like we had this watch party plane and I had.

00:03:14
Speaker 4: Like a lot of people come.

00:03:15
Speaker 3: I had sixty people signed up yea, and it was friends, family, It was all these people that have just like seen this journey that I've been on for the last couple of years, and it was going to be really cool to share like that internal journey that I took like on on, like.

00:03:32
Speaker 4: On TV with cameras, like in a wild way.

00:03:34
Speaker 3: Doing the coolest things that I've ever done in my entire life. And I was really excited to share that with him because like it was my family and friends that got me to where I'm at, and like I just think they've they've seen me at low points, and it would be really cool to show them, like how how high like me and everybody else got, like through this experience.

00:03:56
Speaker 5: How did you come to the bachelor case?

00:03:58
Speaker 3: It's a long one. Do we have do we have a minute? Do you mind?

00:04:02
Speaker 6: Oh? Time?

00:04:04
Speaker 2: This is all free year, this is all.

00:04:05
Speaker 3: Free, beautiful. So I'm a bit of a rambler with this. But it's also like a two year journey. Actually it could be like more of like a seven year journey. But like I based my life around relationships, Like I don't think I've ever had like any sort of work dream or just like personal dream. To me, that's more important than like finding my person. So I met a girl in Nashville, and like the second I met her, I like knew I was going to spend the rest of my life with her, and I had never felt that way before and to make a long story short. We dated for five years, lived together for three, and things were good at the beginning, and then as time went on, like she had past experiences that she wasn't able to sort of get over, and a lot of her trying to get over them was kind of taking them out on me. So we had to thank you. We broke up a few times, and then there was finally like a really bad event that happened, and we both kind of know that like things like this was different and things were ending, and it was you know, I was strong for like two months, and I say all this like kind of understanding like everything that Taylor's going through, Like I was strong for a couple of months, but like and I knew it wasn't right to get with her, and I knew all my friends and family told me enough to go back, but like I loved her, and she told me that I was a person, and I had never heard that before, and you know, part of me thought, like, like I think the way that I'm crazy is like I believe that.

00:05:48
Speaker 4: People can change.

00:05:49
Speaker 3: And sure, you know, I don't know if if I've been shown that before. And I was stupid and I tried to reach back out to her and playing how I felt, and by that time she had already moved on.

00:06:03
Speaker 4: And it absolutely broke me.

00:06:08
Speaker 3: When this girl that I loved and knew me for five years and better than anyone else in the entire world chows a stranger over me, and like this is the lowest point in my life. Like I remember being at a football game and like like crying to my little sister about like like you know, like, yeah, you just feel like you're nothing. So yeah, I'm not gonna like I feel like the normal thing that like what happened in Nashville and country music is like you go hit the bar and just drink whiskey and to forget everything. It was like a country music fand it's like, you know that that's the first that felt across my mind, but like you know, after a day that you were thinking about it, it's like, no, like I'm gonna be the best version of me that I can be and I am going to do everything, you know. Like maybe it was a little unhealthy because like I saw myself as like I definitely had some self esteem issues and didn't see myself as someone that was like worthy of being a boyfriend for someone, and so I went out and tried to do everything I could to make myself the best version of myself. Like tried joined a new gym, started working out every day, like tried to put myself in new social situations that would make me comfortable at first. Like my favorite is like I learned how to two step, which is like the funnest thing I've learned. Do you know, Like became a big brother and like I mentor like a twelve year old kid.

00:07:33
Speaker 4: Who was just like the coolest kid ever.

00:07:35
Speaker 3: And like because I I'm thirty or twenty nine at the time, and like I should know how to be a parent, and like tried to do all these things to make me a better person and got a lot of validation from family and friends at the time, but it's like they're biased, they know me. What is a way that like I can know for myself if like I'm truly like a good enough guy and a good enough boyfriend and can make like when I find my person, if I can really make her happy this time? And like, for whatever reason, my mind was like The Bachelor, and like I had watched it with like my middle school girlfriend. I've probably seen two episodes before I went off and I watched it, but like I remember these guys that were just like like had their lives together. We're in great shape, we're funny, we're attractive, like had everything going for themselves. Like we're literally the most like eligible bachelors in in like the country. And I was like, that would be a good litmus test if like I'm good enough, and like I want my Like I think my last relationship was very much like a movie esque meeting, Like I didn't go bold when I meet my person, Like I want to have a story that like you could make a movie out of. Exactly, this is everything, this would be perfect.

00:08:51
Speaker 5: And why not you tried? You know, I said the same thing going on goal of that. So you've done the dating side, you've had the girlfriend, it didn't work out, why not tried National TV?

00:09:02
Speaker 2: Exactly exactly.

00:09:05
Speaker 3: I knew the reputation that the show had where it's like like I've met a lot of amazing people in Nashville, and like I feel like a fair question to me is like why wouldn't you just date in Nashville, Like it's a very popular dating scene there.

00:09:16
Speaker 4: It's like that is true.

00:09:18
Speaker 3: I feel like I've met a lot of people that have one or the other where they're like I really like them as as people and they're very physically attractive, but then like they are still figuring out a lot in their life. And I knew like on this show, like it has a reputation of like there are people that have it all. There are people that have figured out who they want to be in life and are ready for marriage. And like I've been ring shopping, like I'm mentally prepared for a marriage in kids, Like I understand this, and it's like it's the perfect time. I just need to find the perfect girl sort of thing. Yeah, So I applied, Like I feel like maybe the one person that applied.

00:09:57
Speaker 2: God we never hear the but I love that I did.

00:10:03
Speaker 5: I did.

00:10:05
Speaker 4: How about that application, Oh my gosh, that was a lot.

00:10:11
Speaker 3: I don't know if the guys that like were reached out to had to do this application, but like, oh my god, it was not the longest application.

00:10:18
Speaker 5: Was it was? It was I thought, they know me better than my kids know me at this point.

00:10:25
Speaker 3: Exactly, I know, And I was so scared, Like it was one of those ones where like if you close out at the web page, like it doesn't save it. I was so scared that I was gonna just like my computer was gonna reset when I was gone. And then just like weeks of work and typing up these novels about my emotional trauma for these paragraph essays like wouldn't have been but yeah I did and was. It was so cool when I got accepted. It was such like the world one because I got accepted like the Wednesday before we flew out, and like on Monday, yeah, yeah, yeah baby, it was the last dude, But like it's funny, I will I will always remember charity. You've giving me some love for having a real job on your first podcast, but like, yeah, I told my boss on Friday that I was leaving for an undisclosed amount of time on Monday.

00:11:18
Speaker 2: That's crazy.

00:11:19
Speaker 1: So how was your obviously segueing from like how you got on the show, and then I'm sure like preparing for this journey, you probably also were still like navigating your feelings because it is hard to pinpoint like Okay, you're going into this insane experience.

00:11:33
Speaker 2: It could either work or it cannot work.

00:11:35
Speaker 1: But like did your brain start to like prepare fears for you? How did you navigate that, Like how did you work through that? And honestly, how was it? Like I guess when you know, got in the limo and meeting all the guys for the first time, Like what were you feeling?

00:11:50
Speaker 3: What a good memory? So when I got the call on Wednesday, happiness, excitement, like this is a dream. And then so my twin flew down from New York and yes, yes, exactly, he's he's in Granwich if you're if you're ever in the area. So he flew down and he is like the one of us that actually has a sense of style. So he took me out around and like helped me in my suits and like we went to the boot barn and spent way too much money to show off you know, the Nashville personality a little bit.

00:12:26
Speaker 5: You know, there's a lot of Bachelor of people who live in Ashville. Are you friends with any of them?

00:12:32
Speaker 4: I think so.

00:12:33
Speaker 3: I think I would consider myself friends with them. But it's still new. I feel like I'm in limbo and if I'm a part of Bachelor Nation.

00:12:41
Speaker 5: You definitely are.

00:12:42
Speaker 3: Yeah, definitely bringing me in. Okay, okay, yes, beautiful. So I've hung out with Jason Tartick, who's super cool. I have talked to Christina Manreel and Brandon Bowers. Uh yeah, who know I know is on your season. Yeah, and just heard like super cool things about like all of them. When I got back, I was like, I know, Bachelor of Nations like super close and everybody seems to be friends.

00:13:13
Speaker 4: So it's like, who, who are some people that live here?

00:13:16
Speaker 3: It's just like, yeah, whatnot? And then I know they said, uh, Hannah Brown lives here too, and I was like, it's always weird, just like reaching out to these people where you're just like kind of like sliding into these like m.

00:13:34
Speaker 5: Really at the Bachelor, I really am.

00:13:37
Speaker 3: I'm like, I'm not trying to do anything. I just heard y'all were super cool and like friends in Nashville, and I would love to talk to people that have gone through this before. And I was like, you know, so I started following people. I was like, I saw Hanna Brown was like redoing our house. It's like, I'll come to manual labor. If you just like, like if you.

00:13:53
Speaker 2: Want to by a woman you were like everything.

00:13:57
Speaker 3: Ceiling fan, if you just like tell me how it should be navigating this new world that I'm in, but it's like that just seems such like a weird DM to send people and these people are all like super famous, and I feel like it's just gonna like I'm overwhelmed by like the amount of new followers I have and it's like zero point one percent of what they deal with. So I don't know how that would happen, but like, yeah, it seems like there is an awesome community here. And Christina and Branden were gonna come to the watch party that I'm gonna have last Sunday, and.

00:14:30
Speaker 5: Hey, hey, Casey, can I just say don't put it in the past. You know, the show is not cancel, it is on a pause. There may well come to day where you say, everybody, come on over, giddy up and come on over for having our watch party, our premier party.

00:14:46
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, so and we're getting to meet you.

00:14:49
Speaker 1: That's what this is for too. So we're like, were this is all a part of it?

00:14:53
Speaker 3: Oh, I'm I'm still very optimistic. I am always like the most optimistic to a to a flaw, But I like my kind of stick is like I always like to make people like personalize like three D printed things. So I had like this personalized like they're right next to me, right here, but like these little gifts for Christina and Braiden that they were coming like.

00:15:15
Speaker 1: This, like you were literally like I'm like, why are you so nice?

00:15:20
Speaker 6: You?

00:15:20
Speaker 3: I mean, I don't want to spoil it, but maybe Braiden wouldn't watch, but since you were, you know, got to know him very well. The little Rosey rings to say twenty on them.

00:15:31
Speaker 2: I'm like, is it crazy. I'm like, I want to appear.

00:15:34
Speaker 3: Yes, yes I can. I can. I can very easily do that. Well, I made you guys something too, so this is probably perfect. But I made two these for putting it on my desk the first podcast. Yeah right, that's I was hoping they can just sit up here.

00:15:48
Speaker 1: That is I actually will start crying like that is so sweet.

00:15:53
Speaker 3: I was like, thank you, of course.

00:15:56
Speaker 4: Yeah.

00:15:56
Speaker 3: I always feel weird. Like the other weird thing that I have to do is be like, yeah, what's your address? And it's like, I.

00:16:05
Speaker 5: Am guest toasting on this because Rachel is out of town at a family funeral. But I'm telling you I'm coming. I'm gonna have you come on, I'm gonna talk to the producers. Have you on Golden Hour and then you can reprint me one of those.

00:16:19
Speaker 3: Go yeah, I mean you guys are you guys are my first podcast? So I was figuring.

00:16:24
Speaker 2: Wow, thank you so much. Truly I enjoy this.

00:16:29
Speaker 3: Like there's nothing better than getting like a one of one gift, and yeah, so I do that, and like now it's a good time to just be kind of like a hermit. So me and have been hanging out a lot recently.

00:16:42
Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, I want to get into a little bit of like this season without giving too much. Like obviously we talked a little bit about like how close you you know the guys and you know that dynamic was There's been some articles about Taylor specifically storming off on one of the dates, and obviously we can't really go into super details, but maybe you can confirm deny tease a little bit, like what was what was that?

00:17:16
Speaker 3: Like, Yeah, I'll deny in tease a little bit. Okay, So I don't know where that can's go. We were hanging out at an undisclosed place at the undisclosed time, and she brought up what happened and went into it in very intensive detail. So just just like with with the incident with their kid, and so when when that video came out, like she had already very fully described it to me, like I had a mental image of that same scene, So it's not something she shied away from. And like the whole entire time on the show, she is like because she was asking us the same questions. She's like like she would ask the tough questions and needed to know these and like as someone that's here with intentionality and someone that's like I'm making a lifetime decision, like you should know these things and should ask these questions. So she was the one that brought up originally, and when she did like it, it took me a little while to process it. So she brought that up, and we were having a really good night at that time, and it just wasn't the time or the place, and I didn't really know how I was feeling. I brought it up the next time and she was super cool, calm and collected about it. There was no storming off, there was no like, there was no anger. Yeah, there was sadness. And it's like the only thing that I could imagine is like being worse than like the person on the receiving end of that is like the person that knows they did that and has to live with that for the rest of their lives. Like if it was me, I would be beating myself up over that every day and it would make it so hard, like not to go back to that and not to lose control again because you're just like on edge all the time. But I brought it up and explained like, hey, like this is why I ended my relationship, Like this is this is kind of a source subject for me. This is probably something that like is like I don't know, it's close to me. And she was like, yeah, it was the worst day of my life, and I did something about it, Like I gave up drinking after that. And it's like to me that that was enough, Like I didn't need some some long, like sob story about what happened. It was like she took an actionable change about what happened and showed intention and like has followed through on that it was accountable for it.

00:19:37
Speaker 4: Like that meant the world. I thought it was a really powerful.

00:19:40
Speaker 3: Moment between us two and I'm really glad we got the opportunity to just like sit down one on one and talk about it like that, because you know, like if it was me, like reading a news article and coming up with my own opinions on what happened with limited information and like not being able to talk to her like in a vulnerable state, like who.

00:20:02
Speaker 4: Knows what I would have thought.

00:20:05
Speaker 3: And I think that was one of the good things about like kind of coming into this experience kind of blind, was like I did as little research as I could on anything because I felt like it would be disingenuine for me to do like all my homework on Taylor. Yeah, it's not how you meet someone in the wild, Like I don't walk up and find some girl at the grocery store and listen to ten acts about her and her most traumatizing experience in life. With that being said, like I do think that there is a place to do like a little bit of like background research on people, just to know like where you'll relate, so especially with like such limited time that we have in this world, like like in the basket world. I'm not an existential crisis here.

00:20:49
Speaker 5: I just love that I'm hearing You've obviously had tremendous heartbreak in your life, and and yet you through all these experiences. It doesn't matter what the age is your age, my age, you have been able to turn these some of these negative experiences and celebrate your life and be so excited about the next chapter of your life. And I love hearing it because that is something that doesn't matter what your age is. If you have the right attitude and you take advantage of great opportunities to come your way, great things come into your life, and you are a walking card carrying testimony.

00:21:28
Speaker 3: True.

00:21:29
Speaker 2: Yes, No, it's so admirable.

00:21:31
Speaker 1: Like I'm I mean, I don't know if I'm allowed to say it, but I have my own opinions, so my opinions do matter.

00:21:36
Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't know how the season unfolds.

00:21:39
Speaker 1: But I'm like, if it's not you and Taylor at the end, I'm like, he's my candidate.

00:21:43
Speaker 2: He's my candidate for next Bachelor. I'm like, he's perfect. No, like you really are.

00:21:47
Speaker 1: Like it's just like you're so emotionally like aware, you're intelligent, I mean, your job, your career, and it's like all those things, but it's also like just intentionality. I think it's so important when you're coming again with love, Like love is so vulnerable and it's an vulnerable experience. But I'm like people who are intentional about that. It's you know, it's very rare that you miss the mark, like not saying like the people that come into our lives, Like obviously it's it's a trial and error there. But like when your intentions are pure and your intentions are like you know what it is that you want, like it inevitably works out and I'm just I'm like, now your biggest fan.

00:22:24
Speaker 5: I really it radiates from you. I mean, yeah, just it just it's so apparent that that's who you are. Only good things are going to come your way, you know. Yeah, I say the other end of the other end of the spectrumor but great things are coming for you. You just get a little more passive.

00:22:42
Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, I mean, if you learn anything from this experience as patients, and good things have come to me. Look at the podcast that I'm on right now now, I love this these perfect but I will say with all that, like I think that that's my probably biggest disappointment with like this stuff not airing is like I think there's a million dudes out there that are probably going through the same thing they're going through. They say the quote I've heard, which I don't think is true, but it's kind of true. It's like everybody's either in a relationship or getting over one. I think there's a lot of people out there, a lot of guys out there. I know there are other guys on the show that we're experiencing like some of the lowest points of their life because of their last relationships. And it's cool, Like there's so many stories that happened over the season that are so triumphant of people coming in like looking for something more than just a wife that they find through like the most ridiculous group dates or most ridiculous settings. You've seen the story of growth, and it's like I would have never expected that, Like I would have found so many just like life fulfilling experiences where you're challenged and learn to overcome then like like this on the show on reality TV, but you do, and like twenty one other guys did the same, and it's just like incredible to see the growth that happened.

00:24:04
Speaker 5: Terry, this guy is so perfect. I mean, listen, I could be your mother, and I am telling you I have rarely met a guy other than maybe my son in law. I mean, you are an amazing guy.

00:24:17
Speaker 1: Yes, you spectacular so please like never forget you guys.

00:24:21
Speaker 3: Yeah, I thought you guys were supposed to be a lot more intense and grilling me on these podcasts.

00:24:29
Speaker 2: I'm like, who told you that? Tell me afterwards. But before we leave.

00:24:35
Speaker 1: Is there anything that you want to share with Bachelor Nation, whether that's words of wisdom, anything that's like up and coming that's special for you, like a project that you just want us to know about, And where can we keep up with you on social media?

00:24:49
Speaker 3: Ooh, let's see. I mean, I guess it's just I mean I feel like everybody else will wait and see what happens, Like, yeah, everybody to know that, Like there was an incredible internal journey from all the guys there, Like if if for whatever reason, this doesn't see the light of day, like we're different people now and when we went on there exactly. And I think the thing that that maybe missed the most is like I don't know how many guys watch the show, and I know there's a couple of hundred manufacturing dudes are going to be watching it for the first time, but like, I think the journeys that a lot of us were able to go on, Like I think if I was watching the show and if like a year ago, when I was able to see someone in my shoes go through this experience, like it would have been inspiring, and I need to see that Like a year ago, I had no idea what I was doing. I didn't know if I was doing the right thing at all. And it's weird to say, like, I don't know, if you feel down on your luck, then maybe just like try to go in a reality TV dating show and you may find like what you're looking for. I don't know's it's really cool to be someone that is just like that feels so normal to just have like the most amazing experience of a lifetime and then go through like an even more amazing experience. So there's there's my word to all the fellas out there to uh that maybe going through the same thing.

00:26:22
Speaker 5: But you are a special guy.

00:26:24

00:26:49
Speaker 6: Oh my god.

00:26:50
Speaker 3: Wait it was so funny, like, yeah, well you.

00:26:54
Speaker 5: Got to come to Austin and you can give you a two step lesson.

00:26:57
Speaker 3: Yeah, I would love to.

00:27:00
Speaker 2: That's actually lovely.

00:27:03
Speaker 1: Yeah, a lovely day exactly.

00:27:06
Speaker 3: I've learned a lot about the differences in Texas to step in Tennessee, so I'll choose Texas for you.

00:27:11
Speaker 5: Okay, Well I'm pretty sire. I have to fear.

00:27:17
Speaker 3: I'm not the best either. I still I'm still a mcanmical engineer at art. I'm not.

00:27:22
Speaker 2: Oh and don't forget what are your socials? We need to have this keep up.

00:27:27
Speaker 3: I have an Instagram and I created TikTok about a month ago, so.

00:27:32
Speaker 2: Right on track.

00:27:35
Speaker 3: Yeah right, I'm what the Hawks on Instagram, and I think I'm just Casey Hucks on TikTok.

00:27:43

00:27:44
Speaker 1: We are so happy to have spent today talking and getting to just know a little bit more about you. So thank you again, Casey.

00:27:51

00:28:10
Speaker 6: How are you guys?

00:28:11
Speaker 2: We're doing good. We're happy to have you.

Speaker 6: Yeah, glad to be on. I'm so glad. I'm happy.

00:28:17
Speaker 2: And how it's outlet?

00:28:19
Speaker 3: Yeah?

00:28:19
Speaker 5: Really have you been these last few weeks, Johnny? How are things going?

00:28:23
Speaker 6: Things have been crazy, But you know, I've been playing baseball, so keeping my mind off things, just having fun. But I'm just excited to be on this right now.

00:28:31
Speaker 2: Are you coming from baseball? Are you headed to baseball?

00:28:34
Speaker 6: I'm I'm heading to baseball. I might be missing some things right now, but they said it was fine.

00:28:39
Speaker 5: I want to hear about your experience as a professional baseball player.

00:28:42
Speaker 6: Oh, I mean, I'm doing something a little bit different right now. It's cosmic baseball, which is Glowing the Dark baseball, which is like similar to the Savannah bananas, but better we play. We played glow in the Dark, which is we played in our first week last week in Jacksonville, Florida, and now we're in Birmingham, Alabama. And I'm not going to lie. Last weekend was the most fun I had playing baseball since I was like so much fun.

00:29:10
Speaker 2: Wait, how does that work? Is it like nights? Like no lights?

00:29:14
Speaker 6: Like I'm confused, so crazy. So there's there's black lights. They put them up all over the stadium, and then our jersey's glow, the baseball's glow, the bases glow, and the stadiums are packed with like they're pack.

00:29:29
Speaker 2: How fun?

00:29:30
Speaker 6: So much?

00:29:32
Speaker 5: You got to come to Austin. We don't have a professional baseball team, so you need to bring this to Austin.

00:29:37
Speaker 6: It'd be very I think I think we actually go to Frisco. I don't know if that's close to Austin.

00:29:40
Speaker 5: Not really, you know, Texas.

00:29:44
Speaker 6: There might be another place in Texas. Oh we go to sugar Land.

00:29:48
Speaker 5: Oh that's Houston.

00:29:49
Speaker 6: Okay, I don't know. I'm not familiar with Texas.

00:29:53
Speaker 2: Okay.

00:29:54
Speaker 1: I am so curious to talk about how you got on the show. That's always my first question when I'm meeting new people and then Bachelor family, So tell us how you got on the show.

00:30:06
Speaker 7: So I'm not too sure, but I think I I think I I think I applied a while ago and then someone reached out to me through social media, and then I got a call, They're like, are you interested?

00:30:23
Speaker 6: And I didn't really know much about her, but I was like, yeah, I mean she seems she's beautiful, so.

00:30:28
Speaker 2: Yeah, why not? Yeah, Oh my gosh, so crazy?

00:30:32
Speaker 6: Yes, very crazy.

00:30:34
Speaker 1: Wow did you have, like what was your biggest fear? I guess going into.

00:30:38
Speaker 6: All of this, I think my biggest fear I had a lot of fears. Maybe I know.

00:30:45
Speaker 2: I was like this, it's hard to narrow down.

00:30:47
Speaker 6: I'm sure one was, so there's all the guys going after I'm getting heartbroken? Was definitely a top of my priority. The next one was all the guys being a holes, which none of them were. Then I was very surprised when I got there. All the guys were amazing. It was unbelievable. But yeah, the number one was getting heartbroken because I did get broken up with earlier that year and it was tough. I was going through a tough time.

00:31:14
Speaker 2: But yeah, wow, how.

00:31:17
Speaker 5: Was he living with the guys compared to being on a pro baseball team? Like traveling with the guys, living with guys, how was that?

00:31:24
Speaker 6: Like? I mean, it literally brought me back to memories, Like just the camaraderie of all the guys was amazing. And it was just awesome, Like it was probably one of the best times in my life. I'm not gonna lie, And I had so much fun with the guys, and I still friendships with a lot of them and I'm close with a lot of them. They're they're just such cool guys and they deserve everything and more.

00:31:44
Speaker 2: Yeah, I always say that's like the best part.

00:31:47
Speaker 1: Obviously, it's like we're all we go on this show seeking for love, or at least we should be seeking love. So if it doesn't work out, it's like the friendships and like being able to still be so close with you know who, you really truly I feel like spend probably more time than you do with the lead.

00:32:04
Speaker 2: It's like that's something.

00:32:05
Speaker 5: That's so you know, it's a way.

00:32:09
Speaker 2: Yeah, the friendship is taking that away.

00:32:10
Speaker 1: So I really I love that you guys are still very close.

00:32:14
Speaker 2: And it was a really good dynamic for you all.

00:32:17
Speaker 6: Yeah, it was amazing, best time on.

00:32:19
Speaker 1: Yeah love, Oh my gosh. Okay, so I'm curious to know. Yeah, we're gonna get like probably nitty gritty and whatever. You don't feel comfortable sharing, you don't have to, but you mentioned obviously before you came on the show that you were going through a little bit of a breakup.

00:32:33
Speaker 2: So what really was your dating history, Like we'll start there.

00:32:37
Speaker 1: Do you have a lot of, you know, serious relationships or was it just a few?

00:32:42
Speaker 2: How was that?

00:32:43
Speaker 6: So? I've had three I guess maybe two. One was a high school relationship, but I've had two, yeah, serious relationships after that, and the most previous one where I got dumped. I thought that was going to be it, like we're gonna get married. But yeah, I mean, it takes a lot from me to get into a relationship, and it's hard for me to open up. And I think that's always been my problem because I really have a hard time trusting people, which is probably probably not a good thing, but I keep myself closed a lot. But I think that breakup was the best thing that ever happened to me. I didn't know at the time, but now, Yeah, I'm a big believer in God, and ever since I did, had been praying every day and he really does have a plan and I think that was part of the plan and it's just honestly a blessing.

00:33:31
Speaker 2: Yeah.

00:33:32
Speaker 5: How long were you single before going on the show? How long did that breakup pen?

00:33:36
Speaker 6: So that was I broke it up on my birthday February twenty fourth?

00:33:41
Speaker 2: Oh, oh my god, no, I'm so sorry.

00:33:45
Speaker 6: Yeah, February twenty fourth.

00:33:46
Speaker 2: And then, oh my god, I'm so sorry. No, I hate that.

00:33:51
Speaker 6: It's a whole long story, but uh not. Yeah, and then the show was end of October, so I guess except in months?

00:34:01
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, were you?

00:34:04
Speaker 2: And it's okay, you don't have to say this. I'm so nosy. I need to know everything. Were you dating around before? Were you? Just like, I just need like just time to myself.

00:34:15
Speaker 6: I know, I really wasn't dating around at all. Just yeah, time to focus on me and and just be a better version of me. Because I was also done playing professional baseball at that time, and I was like transitioning into I guess the real world, and I was going on job interviews and I was just kind of lost. I was lost in life. So I was trying to really find myself and just that whole year was it was bad. I did try out for the Savannah Bananas the whole year. They didn't want me, so that was another emotional thing that was their loss.

00:34:45
Speaker 5: Really now you literally, now, Johnny, you literally light up people's.

00:34:52
Speaker 6: Lives that's so nice. Yeah, you're right, though, you guys are making me blush over.

00:35:00
Speaker 5: Wait, I've heard are you stubborn? Johnny?

00:35:04
Speaker 6: I might feel a little bit Who told you that, Kathy?

00:35:07
Speaker 5: I you know I do my research. I heard your love stubborn song.

00:35:11
Speaker 6: I guess Johnny, I might feel a little bit stubborn. I don't like I honestly don't like being told what to do, and I don't like being wrong, which is probably not I.

00:35:22
Speaker 5: Mean, I'm just gonna say I could be your mother here. That might be just a ditch of a problem when you're dating.

00:35:28
Speaker 2: I was like that second one. You don't like being wrong, you will be wrong?

00:35:32
Speaker 6: No, I know, I don't. I'll admit when I'm wrong, like yeah, a couple of days after, but not at the moment.

00:35:37
Speaker 5: Repete after me, Johnny Darling, I'm so sorry you were right and I am wrong.

00:35:43
Speaker 6: Darling, I'm so sorry you were.

00:35:47
Speaker 5: You'll be married within six months, exactly.

00:35:52
Speaker 6: There you go.

00:35:53
Speaker 2: Oh my god, that's all the girl every wants to hear it. That's all it is.

00:36:00
Speaker 1: I do want to ask, So when you found out that Taylor who's going to be the bachelor rat were you already like solidified in casting, or did you have like an opportunity to kind of decide, Like, I guess where I'm asking this question is her being a mom. Was that something that you were like, Oh, I'm totally open to or were you like a little hesitant about.

00:36:21
Speaker 6: Definitely a little hesitant, But I was open to it because I feel like, if it's the right person, then I think it would all work out in the end. So I was open to being possibly I guess a stepfather or father father figure to get children.

00:36:35
Speaker 2: Mm hmm.

00:36:37
Speaker 1: Have you dated, Well, yeah, I think you already answered that. Probably not anyone that was a mom before.

00:36:43
Speaker 6: No, I never I've never been in a relationship with anybody that had kids.

00:36:47
Speaker 5: Yeah, but you, I'm assuming you want children?

00:36:49
Speaker 6: Yeah I do. I do want a Johnny and Junior really bad. Yeah, how about it?

00:36:54
Speaker 5: How about how about a Johnnyette?

00:36:57
Speaker 6: Ye? I do want kids. I want to. I have a big, crazy Italian family, So I do want kids.

00:37:05
Speaker 2: Do you have any siblings?

00:37:07
Speaker 6: I do. I have two sisters and one brother. They're a lot older. And then I have three nieces and three nephews.

00:37:14
Speaker 5: Wow, Uncle Johnny's kids.

00:37:17
Speaker 2: That's experience already.

00:37:19
Speaker 6: Yeah, I've been an uncle since third grade. Third grade?

00:37:22
Speaker 2: Oh wow, wait is there a big gap between.

00:37:24
Speaker 6: So my dad's only kid and they have a different dad, But I consider them all real siblings. So my brother's sister in their fifties, my mother sisters oh wow, thirty nine. Then my nieces and nephews, A couple of them are in their twenties. Two play across at Penn State. One just graduated from you Miami, another one just graduated from Adelphi. And then a nephew that's two and another niece's thirteen.

00:37:49
Speaker 1: Wow wow, I'm like, you guys are literally all like every like age category and they got every generation cover.

00:37:57
Speaker 2: No truly, Oh.

00:37:59
Speaker 6: My god, yes, but I love them.

00:38:02
Speaker 1: So yeah, well I am so like, this is so fun. I love like getting to meet all of you guys and like just always welcoming new people to the Bachelor fam.

00:39:25

Speaker 1: Okay, you said that you hate wet laundry.

00:39:54
Speaker 2: Explain the trauma with that.

00:39:57
Speaker 6: I there's something about wet laundry like it comes out of the iron. It's wet, and like gives me the irth. It's kind of like, uh, if you're scratching the chalkboard. That's what I feel. It just really gets to me. I don't know why.

00:40:12
Speaker 2: It's like, yeah, it's like I'm assuming, like just it's sensory. It's texture for you.
