00:00:00 Speaker 1: All right, good evening, Big Blue Nation, Ryan living in for Matt Jones tonight on the local Toyter Dealers KSR postgame show Man. What a difference of three days make right? You know? This time on Tuesday night, Big Blue Nation was at a panic, full blown hysteria after they just got whooped and flat out spank by Michigan State. Can't forget that game. But it was kind of nice to watch the game tonight and kind of enjoy and not be stressed out, not be anxious as they whooped up on Loyal eighty eight to forty six, and it was never close the game and the score is actually not what's important I think about what happened tonight to me, It was important to what happened to a couple guys. Pope changed the starting lineup. Diabate out with a sprained ankle, so he puts Cam Williams at the four, and he makes the move that a lot of Big Blue Nations have been talking about. He put in Malachi Marino instead of Brandon Garrison and man from the opening tip. It was just more energy, just that little breath of fresh air of mixing up the starting lineup. I think worked the guys just came out and seemed because you know, the worst thing you can do when you have a bad loss like you did on Tuesday, is you come out and you get let one loss turn into two. Well I didn't think they would lose tonight, but there was that outside possiblity that could come out a little flat, maybe not into the game, maybe uh slacking off a little bit and go just going through the motions because it was Loyal and Maryland. But they didn't, and I think that's because the starting lineup changed. He came out and the energy was there, the effort was there, and from the very beginning it looked like a different basketball team. Otega Oway scored six straight points to start the game, going hard to the basket. I mean it was obvious from the outset. They had talked to him and told him, look, you just need to get back to what otega Oway is good at, and that's driving to the basket, getting to the getting to the rim. And he did it, man, And just that alone, that jump started this team when he came out that way, with that effort and got those six straight points. Because right after that, it was shortly after that Colin Chandler hit like, what three threes in the first half, hit two of them back to back. Jasper Johnson hit a three, Yellowitch hit a three, and they were just bombing them in from everywhere. Came Williams hit a three. And that's what I was most pleased with. How they responded to that awful loss on Tuesday, how they came out and played Tony like, I don't I don't care. It was loyal, I don't care they beat him by forty two points. It was just the execution was there, the effort was there, the energy was there, and I was pleased with what I saw. You know, Brandon Garrison, the guy loses his starting spot, maybe plays his best game of the year. He guy had eleven rebounds. He only scored six points, but he had eleven rebounds. But he was more like the Brandon Garrison I think we thought we'd get this year. He was all over the place on the defensive end. He was going after the rebounds, he was vocal, showed a lot of energy. I think maybe, well, you know, he came off the bench all last year to Amari, so maybe that's just where he's more comfortable just coming off the bench. Because Malachi deserves to start. The guy is just getting better and better each time out, each game out. For those of us nodding, well, for those of you who thought maybe he was going to just be a project in the thirteenth man on the bench was sadly mistaken. The dude did zu deserve to start, earned this light right to start. He's a guy that could get a lot of double doubles for you, and I hope they keep that lineup the way it is right now with Garrison coming off the bench letting Malachi start. But start of the game was Cam Williams. I mean we've already mentioned his name a couple of times. Got to start tonight. I love his hair. I think it's all because of the hair, the changing the hairstyle. He came out, had a great game thirteen points, team high, nine rebounds, four assists, and he interviewed with Maggie Davis after the game on the floor, then interview would Just Givens on the sideline after the game, and both times he said he was kind of mad at himself. He didn't get that tenth rebound, you know, so he knew he needed to want more for ten rebounds. That tells me all about all I need to know about that kid. He didn't care. He didn't want to score twenty points. He wanted ten rebounds. So he's earned the right to play and to start. So Denzel Washington, Denzel Washington, Denzel Aberdeen almost worded around with the triple double. Eleven points, eight rebounds, six assists. If he'd have played more minutes, he may have gotten a triple double. And he's a guy that just plays better off the ball. You know, when Jasper was running the point and Denzel was running the two, I like that. It seemed to work a little bit to see. There was one rotation, Billy where actually Pope played Garrison and Malachi together late in the game, and I think he did that just to see could they possibly play together at the four and the five. I don't think really anything happened, but I think that was just a little experiment that Pope threw out there. Did you catch that? 00:04:56 Speaker 2: I did? It was good to see BG not check out and get those eleven boards. I mean, despite him playing poorly, he's still gonna be important until JQ comes back. How about how quick this game went? 00:05:06 Speaker 1: Ryan, dude, This may be the fastest basketball game since I've been in Lexington. It took got over like an hour and forty five minutes, maybe less than an hour and forty minutes something like that. 00:05:17 Speaker 2: The first foul was until two thirty five lefts in the first half. 00:05:20 Speaker 1: They didn't the only shot what three free throws in the first half something like that. They only shot seventeen free throws for the game. Fastest job ever. I come in Doug Shalls, we give him a hard time. Doug wouldn't having it, except he did call a couple guys stepping on the sideline. They're eating it. Come on, Doug, let that go. But it was Corey Price needs to look it up. This may be the fastest game since when Delkin, McCarty and Poping those guys used to blow teams out by thirty maybe one A haad one of those games and went fast, But this one just blew by. So congratulations to Mark Pope. He came out, was very gracious and he's played comments to Tom Leech and to the crowd. He thanked everybody for coming out here and Billy. The last thing he said before he took the headsets off and walked away. The last thing he said, we really appreciate you guys being here. Stay tuned. It's going to be a great journey. I loved it. That's what I want my coach to say. I don't want him have his head down staring at the ground and acting like he just got beat up on the playground. I want to be you know, optimism and be a positive looking forward. Did you hear him say that right at the end? 00:06:30 Speaker 3: I did. 00:06:31 Speaker 1: Yeah. 00:06:31 Speaker 2: I was good to hear him in a good mood after the last couple of weeks that we've had. But he talked about decisiveness of the team. You know you mentioned oway him scoring all those points at the beginning of the game. I think we were definitely looking for something like that. And I mean Colin Chandler. He missed a few shots tonight, but man, that guy can shoot, and he has improved a ton since last year. 00:06:49 Speaker 1: He's your best outside three point shooter. Cam Williams maybe number two, But how about the Mountain Mamba Trent Noah knocking down a couple of shot couple, Yeah, he's got to get on track. As long as he come off the bench knock down a couple of shots like that, He's gonna be so valuable, so you know it. It was a feel good win that the fan base needed it, the locker room needed it, and that's six foot eleven head coach needed it, needed a feel good win, and tonight they got it eighty eight forty six over Loyola. Next up, John Pelfrey brings his Tennessee Tech team in here on Wednesday. But tonight we want to hear from you. Hopefully there won't be any belly aching that we had last Tuesday after the Michigan State game. But it was warranted. I'm not saying it wasn't Warnton. It definitely was eight five nine two eight h two two eighty seven. It's eight five nine Toito Cats. Ryan Leman in here on the post game show tonight with our buddy Belly R Sports. We'll be right back. This is the KSR postgame Show, all right, Welcome back the local Twitter dealers KSR Post Game Show. Ryan Leman in for Matthew Harper Jones tonight, Billy our Sports and running the show. You know Billy back in the day, he used to run a show we had on six thirty Delp called the Scoreboard Show for High school Football. Well, tonight's big Region finals night. So I've been following all these high school football scores and a big one going on over at Frederick Douglass. They're going to overtime against Ryle right now. Winner moves on to the Final four, loser goes home. It's twenty twenty going into overtime. Trinity advanced to nine and six A playoffs, say next beat mail uh and South Warren is beating Henderson kuy. So those are the six A scores. So throughout the show, I'll try to give you some high school football scores as well. That all right with you? Kind of I feel like I'm kind of like Rick Shaw in the high school score. 00:08:22 Speaker 2: Fora Like Rick Shaw, do you miss working Friday nights, Ryan. 00:08:26 Speaker 1: I'd miss it. I love it. That's the best thing we did when I worked at Channel eighteen, even the TV stations in Evansville I worked at for high school football on Friday night, to me is the best. I love it and I miss it, and that's why I'm kind of into it. By the way, you know, we all know that Matthew is a big middles bro yellow jacket. 00:08:42 Speaker 2: That's right. 00:08:42 Speaker 1: How they do They're getting beat forty two to six by Pikeville. Yeah, Matthew will not be making the trip next week to watch his Jackets play because they're getting whooped by Pikeville, the Pakville Painters forty two to six. All right, eight five nine, two oh two two eight seven? Who he got first? Billy J Dub JDub go ahead, jadab. 00:09:03 Speaker 3: How you doing? Brian? 00:09:04 Speaker 4: Where's mad at? 00:09:06 Speaker 1: Uh? He's got some stuff he had to take care of tonight because he's got a busy weekend, so we figured this would be a good night for him to take a night off. 00:09:13 Speaker 4: Okay, that sounds good. Hey man. All I was gonna say was, oh man, Brandon Garrison, my goodness, like, you couldn't You couldn't be You couldn't be worse than what he's doing right now. 00:09:29 Speaker 5: It's just terrible. 00:09:31 Speaker 1: You didn't think he played good tonight? I did not. You didn't want Did you watch the game tonight? 00:09:37 Speaker 6: I did. 00:09:38 Speaker 1: The dude had eleven rebounds and was one of the best defenders on the floor tonight. 00:09:43 Speaker 4: I know, I Well, I don't think so. I think Cam Williams was the star tonight. 00:09:50 Speaker 1: He was the best player, but as far on the defensive end, Redd and Garrison their diddy's. 00:09:54 Speaker 4: Job against against the division what was it that Division two. 00:09:59 Speaker 1: Or no there division one. They're just not very good, So JW, we appreciate it. I totally disagree with Jebb's analysis of Brandon Garrison. Yes, he played poorly the other nine against Michigan State, but tonight, like I said earlier, I think was his best game of the season. Billy. 00:10:13 Speaker 2: Yeah, part of it is him doing it against the better competition. Yeah, it's easy to do it when you're taller than everybody on the roster. But look, i mean there's gonna be a role on this team for BG. I'm just glad he hasn't checked out, right. 00:10:25 Speaker 1: I think that's why Pope was trying to prop him up, and he's news conferences this week try to really praise him because they'd already made a decision to sit him. But you can't lose him. You got to keep him engaged because you're going to need him. You know. Maybe Malachai gets in foul trouble and he likes to play two big guys. We saw it last year, played Cam and Brandon a lot, and I'm sure they'll play Malachai and Brandon as much until Jake Q comes in and then they'll rotate those minutes. So I try to get another one. Who we got next, Chad? Chad? Go ahead, Chad? 00:10:53 Speaker 7: Hey, what's going on? 00:10:54 Speaker 4: Guys? 00:10:55 Speaker 1: What up? Chad? 00:10:58 Speaker 8: Can you hear me? 00:10:59 Speaker 1: Yeah? Go ahead, Chad? 00:11:01 Speaker 9: Hey, Hey, Ryan, I appreciate you doing this show man. 00:11:05 Speaker 8: Uh. 00:11:06 Speaker 3: You doing a lot better than mister Jones. 00:11:08 Speaker 10: No no, and Billy Billy getting too much slack. 00:11:14 Speaker 9: You need to take up for yourself. Don't let them boys push you around and go cat. 00:11:20 Speaker 1: There we go, Chad, what a great call. Thank you, Chad. Yeah, I didn't like the Billy slander that was going on about the veggie tray and the suitcase Billy I tried to take in the shoes I tried to take up for you this week. 00:11:31 Speaker 2: It was a business trip, Ryan, you know, had to dress up for it, and then I had somebody tweet me a veggie tray. They're snacked before tonight's game tonight, so it's catching on a little bit. 00:11:39 Speaker 1: Well, something needs to be said for your trying to eat healthy when we're all in there eating Twizzlers and Little Debbie cakes and chocolate chip cookies. The whole trip. You're trying to eat at least eat something a little healthy, So good for you, Billy. Who you got next, Drew, Drew, go ahead, Drew. 00:11:58 Speaker 11: Hey guys, I just want to say, you guys don't get enough credit, Ryan and Billy, so I'm glad you guys are on tonight. 00:12:05 Speaker 1: Well that is our call on the day. Billy, thank you. No matter what he says, I'm turning out. That's our call of to day. Go ahead, Drew, take as long as you want. 00:12:15 Speaker 11: I just want to say, all those guys on Twitter, cut it out with the negativity because you're embarrassing us. So and give our guys some more time. They're not used to playing with Pope, like guys last year. You know, Jackson Robinson, you know, give him some time. We got Malachi, some freshmen coming in, so I'm excited. 00:12:39 Speaker 1: True, we appreciate it. Yeah, you know. I try to remind myself, Billy that the calendar does say November. I mean, we're a long way away from March. There's a lot of basketball to be played. But still it stinks when you play so bad and get embarrassed on national television in the most historic basketball arena of all time and then you're getting beat so bad the other team puts their walk ons in at the end of the game. That was that was just an embarrassing moment. That does not does not happen to Kentucky basketball. And we all had to sit there and take it. 00:13:10 Speaker 2: Yeah, and we heard from Dan Issel and Frank Franklin today about it a little bit, you know, but when you say it's November, that makes it even more impressive. What Malachi Mareno's doing right now is that is does it not? 00:13:21 Speaker 1: Yeah? I mean, like Drew said, there, you know, these guys are getting used how to play with coach Pope. Malachi seems to have picked it up pretty quickly. I mean, they just played better when he's on the floor right now. Now, Like I said, I think I do think Brandon Garrison played his best game of the year so far tonight, but Malachi deserves and has earned that right to start, and he played well again tonight. So all right, it's get another one. Who we got Billy, Mike, Mike, go ahead. 00:13:43 Speaker 3: Mike, Hey, guys, how's it going. 00:13:47 Speaker 1: How are you? Mike? 00:13:49 Speaker 3: Good? Good good. I'm calling from Knoxville, Tennessee. I live here I'm UK fan and UK fan all my line, but anyway, so comfort to me. And I'm just saying this because adversity defines true leadership. And Mark Pope this past week, and I love Mark Pope. I drove from Knoxville whenever he was brought in for the press conference hashtag you know, twenty three, twenty four thousand roughs. I stood in line for four hours, you know what I mean to get into that building, to be there. And so I love Mark Pope. I think Mark Pope is a genuine great guy, and I think he's got a lot and he's a very intelligent. I'll never forget the Duke game last year where he called that play and told him to what's that kid's name, you know, the one that he did the spin move. He told me it's when he spends come over to the week's side and help. I mean, that's Mark Pope. Yeah, And what he did tonight, and I'm glad to see him, you know, engaging and coming out of you know that. You know, I love the fact he cares and he wants to win. He hates to lose. I hate to lose, but but we can't let those kids. Man, see us like that, and I'm just thankful man that hopefully that you know, hopefully he has time to to come out of that and and move forward and and really be that that leader that he is, that we know that he is, and the coach that he can be, and and do some great things this year because I believe, I truly believe the potential is there. I believe we've got the great We've got some great players. I think they just need true leadership and we need an alpha male on that team. 00:15:44 Speaker 1: That all right, Mike appreciate it. He said a couple of things, Billy, I agree with. One. In a time, like you said, adversary brings out is when you look to your leaders. And I said that on the show this week, when in a time of crisis, you look to your leaders for leadership, for guidance. And we didn't get that from Coach Pope this week. We got kind of doubled down and kept it secret and made excuses. You you don't need that, and he I think the caller Mike's also right about need an alpha male, need a leader. That's why Jalen Lowe was so important to this team. That's why Matt named him the MVP of the team before the season even started because of his leadership. He is an alpha dog. He's the one that's gonna get in your face and tell you when you do something wrong. He's a great leader, great floor leader, great floor general, coach on the floor. And they're missing that right now. So the Aberdeen or jash for those two guys have got to learn how to take care of that, and I think they will. 00:16:37 Speaker 2: What do you think, Billy, Yeah, I mean, I hope so. I mean Aberdeen has had to pick up a lot of the slack with Jalen Lowe out. Mark Pope in the postgame talked about being a sore loser after the game and if that disqualifies him from the job or not. I don't think it does. But I do think that he needed to show some leadership and not just in wins against you know, stinky teams like this. 00:16:57 Speaker 1: Right, I agree? I totally agree. Oh call then, who we got Hayden? Hayden, go ahead, Hayden. 00:17:04 Speaker 12: Hey, how you doing? 00:17:06 Speaker 1: How are you hating? 00:17:08 Speaker 10: I'm doing good. 00:17:09 Speaker 12: I was going to ask Matt earlier, but he hung up on me too quick. I'm a coach at Somerset Christian high school baseball, and we're needing somebody to come out and throw the first pitch. So I thought maybe Ryan would do it since Matt hung up on me too early. 00:17:23 Speaker 1: I will one hundred percent come down and do it. I'll throw a fastball. 00:17:27 Speaker 8: Right the play. 00:17:28 Speaker 12: First game of the year. 00:17:30 Speaker 1: Well, if it's cold, if it may be cold and snowy, first game of the year, let's wait, maybe till the little warmer. 00:17:37 Speaker 12: We ain't worried about that. We'll get you a sweatshirt and everything. But no, besides that, I think Danisell needs to keep his mouth shut. 00:17:46 Speaker 3: L seventies. 00:17:47 Speaker 12: He might have played ball like that, dan Issel, Dana sil back back in the seventies, you might have been able to talk like that, play ball like it. However, he's talking. But it's the first five games of the year and he's already talking like it. I think he needs to assess it up real while and just keep his mouth shut until we get the march. 00:18:07 Speaker 1: Okay, Hayden, appreciate it. Get back with me about throwing out the first pitch. I'll be glad to do it. Yeah. For those who don't know what Hayden's talking about, dan Issel was on a radio show I believe was it earlier this morning or last night or something, and said he did not see one thing, not one thing that was gonna make him optimistic about this team this year. Well, if the only game you watch was Michigan was Louisville and Michigan State, maybe you feel that way. Although I thought they played pretty well Louislle game, Lousill just played better. But maybe the only game you saw all year was Michigan State because the other games were on the computer. As Matt likes to say it, maybe you're going to see him well, then you might want to say something like that. But again, it is just November. I'm gonna keep saying that. I trying to remind myself. I think Billy that we still have a long way to. 00:18:49 Speaker 2: Go, long way to go. Ryan. So I mean, Dani Eilstill knows more than us. But are you panicking yet? 00:18:56 Speaker 1: No, I'm not. I need need to feel good win tonight. I got it. I need another feel good win Wednesday gat Tennessee Tech. We'll get that. I needed to go out and play well at home against North Carolina. That's that. That's what's going to win a lot of people back over you you play well against North Carolina because you may not beat Gonzaga in Nashville. Gonzaga is really good. That's good. That could be a tough, tough game for you. Uh, but you got to play well against North Carolina. You can't throw in another stinker if you just got embarrassed by Michigan State. You want to take one more if we go to the break or go to the break. Yeah, one more, Wilson, one more, Wilson, Go ahead, Wilson. 00:19:36 Speaker 6: Hey, Ryan, thanks for taking my call. 00:19:38 Speaker 1: Thanks for calling in Wilson. 00:19:41 Speaker 4: Yeah. 00:19:41 Speaker 6: I was at the game tonight. The crowd was pretty good. Actually, I was kind of surprised considering Tuesday, but it was really refreshing and I think Cam Williams emerging could be big. 00:19:52 Speaker 13: For this team. 00:19:52 Speaker 6: But on a bigger level, this week's been kind of exhausting for me to read social media all the gloom and calm. It's about what poets saying in a press conference, what happened for the Louisville game. So it was just really nice to go watch the team play, have a great game, and see a young player at merge. I just think we should go into this as fans. We should be optimistic about the team and instead of settling on gloomy things. I get it, we haven't looked good in these big games, but let's cheer for the team. Let's let's be optimistic. I think we got a good squad. 00:20:24 Speaker 1: Appreciate it, Wilson. You know we said. The last thing Pope said for he took his headphones off tonight, was it's going to be a great journey if Can Williams started playing like that. He had a good report about Jaden Quaintons. Did you hear that, Billy said, Jayden Quainton's was playing in two on two drills in practice. Scared Pope to death. Went to the team doctor. The team box said no, no, he's good. He can do it. So Quaintons is now playing in two on two drills. So it's the first time he's been in non contact drills since practice started. So, you know, you get him back, you get Malachai getting better every game, you get Can Williams, you know, try starting to improve. Maybe Gear gets into that role. If he comes off the bench and gets you eleven rebounds every time, Well, that's how valuable is that they have a big guy come off the bench that can do something like that for you. 00:21:08 Speaker 2: So, yeah, you're just somebody's gonna have to Sita's not gonna play the four with Moke when he comes back, right, You wouldn't think so. 00:21:17 Speaker 1: And you know Yellowitch is still trying to fight for you. Get on the floor and get some get some minutes here there. So it could be a good problem to have. I do have an update on the Frederick Douglas football score. Yeah, in triple overtime Ryle twenty eight, Frederick Douglas twenty seven. Oh, Douglas goes down and triple overtime to Ryle. How about that? Wow? A couple of I'll give you a couple other scores. Corman won at Highlands tonight, knocked out Tayden Lorenzen in Highland thirty five twenty one. And Boyle County just destroyed Cubcat forty one fourteen. So those scores from from fouray, So there you go. And here's one more from the Tech Machine. Did Matt pass on the postgame show after Middlesborough went down the defeated Pikeville forty two fourteen? Yeah, maybe that's why it was Billy. Maybe he knew the Jackets weren't gonna pull this one out, and he'd tried to bail on us. I understand, I understand, all right, we'll take our break, come back A five nine two eight two two eight seven Local Total Do's KSR postgame show, Ryan's in for Matt. We'll be right back, all right, Welcome back, Local Totalader's KSR postgame show, Ryan Liming and for Matt Jones. Tonight as Kentucky wins it over Loyal Maryland eighty eight forty six in a game was never close. Five guys in double figures. Cam Williams led the way with thirteen, Denzel Aberdeen eleven, Otagaway eleven. Colin Chandler also thirteen. I'm sorry, so we had two guys with thirteen Cam Williams, Colin Chandler two with eleven Otega and Denzel Aberdeen. Malachi had ten points, eight rebounds, Brandon Garrison eleven rebounds. Jasper Johnson almost in double figures with nine points and five assists. He had five assists, Aberdeen had six assists. They showed me I know again, I know it was a lesser opponent, but those two guys is running the point made me feel a lot better about going forward than I did against Michigan State. Denzel did not look comfortable at all, and against the pressure Michigan State was bringing Tuesday night, Jasper seemed to handle it a little better. Jasper's just an assist machine man. He comes in and he's got the lob down with Malachi. He's kind of always looking up that way to you know, give it up to the big guys. So I feel comfortable if he's got to step in and run some of that point, because you gotta think Lowe was gonna get hurt off and on all season. That shoulder is gonna get sored, He's gonna get bumped, He's gonna miss time here or there, if he's gonna try to fight through it. We had to live with this last year with Lamon Butler. Remember he'd get bumped and maybe he had to sit out a game and then come back. Missed the last game of the year against Tennessee. So just get ready for that. But I feel a lot better about Denzel and Jasper for sure. At the point. All right, who we got a next, Billy, Seth, Seth, Go ahead, Seth? 00:23:52 Speaker 3: What's going on around here? 00:23:53 Speaker 1: You do not Buddy well, what's up, seth. 00:23:57 Speaker 3: I So we went in and my wife. 00:23:58 Speaker 14: We got blessed with tickets to the game, and uh, just a few we were sitting six rows up from the opposing team from the back, from behind their bench, and so there's just a few little things that I noticed tonight. One, this team don't talk a. 00:24:11 Speaker 10: Whole lot on the floor. 00:24:13 Speaker 15: They talk some, but it's like really kind of like when somebody messes up and they're just kind of explaining what they were trying to do. Two, our bigs, Brandon Garrison kind of does does a little bit better when he's actually playing good. But our bigs, and my wife even pointed it out, they don't realize how. 00:24:30 Speaker 10: Big they are. 00:24:32 Speaker 15: They almost play like they're they're smaller than they are. And I think that especially if Yullovich and Mareno would definitely just like be those big butt post guys and just get in there and get boards, I think it would contribute a lot. Cam Williams is a demon. I need that. I need that every game from him. He absolutely is a blast watching person. Him and Aberdeen and uh, Billy, real. 00:24:53 Speaker 14: Quick, let me put you on something. 00:24:54 Speaker 15: And I'm being one hundred percent sincere When I say this because I love a good veggie trade rit charcotery board. 00:25:00 Speaker 14: You need you need to try. 00:25:01 Speaker 15: You need to try the pickled candied halipinos. You can get them up BUCkies. And the pepper jelly. Dude, you put that like the you got like a ritz cracker with some cream cheese and some pepper jelly and like a little piece of like provolone or like a little bit of meat on there. 00:25:16 Speaker 10: Dude, it is absolutely fired. 00:25:18 Speaker 1: There we go. Okay, That's what I was talking about, Martha Stewart Radio tonight. So appreciate it, Seth, thank you. 00:25:24 Speaker 14: Sam. 00:25:25 Speaker 1: You know the veggie trays are good except for celery. Did you have celery on your veggie trae? 00:25:29 Speaker 2: There was none? Good broccoli and garrotts and then even a little like beef jerkey and cheese that nobody wants to talk about, but was delightful. 00:25:38 Speaker 1: I I would go with that. I'm okay if you even have cauliflower, just no celery at all. The only thing celery is good for is to hold the peanut butter and then you lick the peanut butter out of the celery and then fill the celery strick away. 00:25:49 Speaker 2: Well, let me tell you, it's hard to eat healthy at BUCkies, so Seth is onto something. 00:25:53 Speaker 1: But Seth did have a pretty good made my mouth water a little bit. I'm not gonna lie eight five nine two two two et seven. 00:25:58 Speaker 2: Who's next, Angus? 00:25:59 Speaker 1: And just go ahead, Angus. 00:26:02 Speaker 9: Hey guys, how y'all doing today? 00:26:03 Speaker 1: How are you? Angus? Oh yeah, go ahead, Angus. 00:26:09 Speaker 9: Oh hey, sorry, sorry sorry, I actually liked this lineup to start the game. It gives us a chance to spread the floor a little bit, to get some threes up before the game, with most sitting on the bench. I do think he'll be good at coming off the bench though, Cam Williams, it's great to see him finding his role and get some confidence going. If you guys don't mind, I'd like to give a little bit of a shout out too, if that's okay, Well, on a night like tonight, why not, Yeah, dude, shout out Cam Taylor, shout out my brother Zach and the rest for the boy to go cats Man, Thank you guys. 00:26:36 Speaker 1: You know, Angus did bring up a point that I think a lot of people are going to agree with. When you start a guy like Cam Williams, now you've got four shooters on the floor, Diabaatee. The reason Mark Pope went out and got Diabate was for he needed somebody to get tougher inside were you know, we got pushed around last year. We had trouble with teams that played physical. He needed a good defender that could push people around. He went out got Diabate. He's perfect to that, but he's not your outside shooter that Pope likes to have that four guy knockdown shots. That's why he brought in yellowch That's why he brought in Cam Williams. So, Billy, what do you think if they go with that lineup of bringing Diabatee and Garrison off the bench. 00:27:15 Speaker 2: Off the bench? Yeah, I mean yeah, I think that would be good. I you know, we talked a lot about Mark Pope's offense and him not really recruiting to his scheme this year. Right going to get mo to get more physical and get these guys with experience, so it's not exactly the team he's coached in the past. I would love to see Diabate at the five or moreno at the five with Diabate on the bench, because that allows a guy like Cam to start. So you can face the floor. 00:27:41 Speaker 1: One guy I was really disappointed in shooting the night was Walker Horn. Oh. I mean he had two looks. He was zero for two from three. I mean, you're in the game for one reason, Walker, and that's to knock down that shot when in the final second to the game, you got to hit that shot. So he really brought down our three point percentage of night zero for two. You know who was the worst three point shooter of the game? Who well that besides the guy that missed her, Cam Williams. He was only one of four. He had this great game, and he's known to be a shooter, but he was doing everything else. That's why he's the MVP of the game. He was a very vital member of the team. They helped him win and didn't do the one thing he's known to do, and that was knockdown threes. All right, who's. 00:28:23 Speaker 2: Next, Let's go to Sam. 00:28:26 Speaker 1: Sam? 00:28:26 Speaker 16: Go ahead, Sam, Thank you, Ryan, thanks you for saking marcall I had two games on tonight. I was watching my father in law, coach Ryle. They got a big one. They're so happy about that. But I wanted to ask you a question. If if Colin Chandler didn't go on that mission ship. Can you imagine how scary he would be right now without taking that break off from basketball of a good night man. 00:28:46 Speaker 1: Well, you know it's a good point. He goes two year mission, came back last year, kind of took him half the year to seem to kind of knock off the rust, but then by the end of the year he was You could tell he guy's confidence back. He's playing with a lot of confidence right now. I like him as anybody. If you got the you you need a shot, I'm putting the ball in his hands and say, go knock it down for me. Son. So he had three threes in the first half, was on fire again. Really, he's a he's a guy that is Uh, it's gonna be hard to get him off the floor. 00:29:17 Speaker 2: Who are we talking about? 00:29:18 Speaker 1: I'm sorry we were That's all right, Colin Chandler, Oh. 00:29:20 Speaker 2: Yeah, Drew as the president of the fan club. I'm a little jealous because that guy has been phenomenal this year, hasn't he. I mean just he's been their best shooter, no doubt. 00:29:29 Speaker 1: That's why I said it's gonna be hard to take him off the floor. Pope's gonna have a heck of a problem. If Lowell comes back, Otaga starts playing better. You got Aberdeen and you got Chandler. 00:29:40 Speaker 2: Well, those are big ifs right now. 00:29:42 Speaker 1: Somebody's gonna have to sit out of those four guys because uh if you like him at the four and Malachi at the five. So, like I said, it's a good problem to have. And it's just November. They got time to figure it out. 00:29:52 Speaker 2: So are they gonna shorten their rotation or are we gonna play eleven guys? 00:29:55 Speaker 1: I think that's just how Pope does it. I just think he plays guys. He didn't like to play a lot of minutes. I've heard him say before you like, you know, analytics show you you play your best one fresh legs, So he tries to save get your fresh legs, save them for late in the game. And also it gives the bench some minutes in case you have to play them late in the game. They're not coming in cold, they've already been on the floor and run them down the court a little bit. So those are his reasons why he likes to play ten eleven guys, and he's not going to change. I just think that's the way he coaches. 00:30:24 Speaker 2: Who's next, Billy, Let's go to Kendall. 00:30:28 Speaker 1: Kendall, go ahead, Kendall. 00:30:30 Speaker 17: Alright, was going on the first time. 00:30:32 Speaker 1: I appreciate you calling. 00:30:35 Speaker 17: Right now. I was gonna see, uh you got Jack and clients on the bench. I was probably top five round draft pick. I mean, but he comes back, how do you think he comes to you? Because he come off the benchers, they start and have what do you think you have? 00:30:51 Speaker 1: Just I think he'll do exactly what he did with Jalen Lowe when Jalen Lowe was coming back the first time, you know, bring ing in about the first TV time out, maybe somewhere in the middle of the first half. You know, Jayleen Jayleen low had yet to start a game here because uh, he got hurting big Blue white game and then played partial against Louisville, played partial against uh, who's the other game he played partial against Valparaiso. Maybe, So I think he'll do the same thing with Quainton's. I think he'll just kind of baby him in, bring him off the bench. But by the end of the season, he's starting and he's your man. He's the guy. He's gonna be the best player on the team. 00:31:29 Speaker 14: Thanks pretty co all right. 00:31:30 Speaker 1: Eight five nine two two eight seven's getting on the call, Billy. Who we got? 00:31:34 Speaker 2: We got Dustin, Dustin? 00:31:36 Speaker 10: Go ahead, Dustin, Hey, Ryan, first time, long time. 00:31:41 Speaker 1: Appreciate you Colling. 00:31:44 Speaker 10: Uh yeah, what did you think about that? 00:31:46 Speaker 8: Brandon Garrison passed at the four minute market at the Sands? 00:31:49 Speaker 10: What was up with that? 00:31:51 Speaker 1: I don't I don't know if I remember what you're talking about. I do. That was bad. He threw one up in the stands. 00:31:56 Speaker 10: Yeah, oh yeah, rebound the basket. That's right, they went up in the stands. I don't know what happened with that. 00:32:02 Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, I'm not gonna fault him. Like I said, I think that this is the best game he's played, you know, just seem to be more active on the defensive end, more active going rebounds. So they obviously got to him this week, and he actually came and played instead of pouting on the bench losing your spot, he came and played his best game. 00:32:23 Speaker 10: For sure. 00:32:24 Speaker 1: Okay, appreciate the phone call. Is that your dog in the background, Did you hear my dog? 00:32:28 Speaker 5: Yeah? 00:32:28 Speaker 1: Sure, there's all kinds of people here at my house. Well, I got one son here downstairs making cookie with these of his his female companion. I got another son here with two other guys, and they're downstairs making music, writing music and songs. So there are people all over my house right now. 00:32:44 Speaker 2: Okay, Well, eventful night at the Lemon household. You're lucky the game ended so quick. 00:32:48 Speaker 1: I do have breaking news, Billy though. A guy just texted me the Somerset Owensboro Catholic score and Owensboro Catholic won twenty seven to nineteen. That game was played at Kentucky Westley in College's football field. So once Brooke Catholic Aces move on again, we got you wanna take another caller, take our final break. 00:33:06 Speaker 2: Let's take our final break here. 00:33:07 Speaker 1: Final break, will come back our final segment eighty five nine two O two two eight seven. Calls have been really good tonight. After big wins, sometimes it goes a little astray to the guys. Calls have been fantastic. You guys have done a great job. So we've got one more segments, So line up with the phone calls eight five nine two ititto two two eight seven. We'll be right back on the KSR postgame show. Welcome Back, final segment of the Local Twitter Dore's KSR postgame show as Kentucky whoops up on Loyal Maryland eighty eight forty six. Other's some high school fooball scores, So I gotta get to you tonight. Pulaski beat Wes Jetsman, Owensboro beat Fairdale, Woodford County beat Scott County in a tough one forty five thirty one, Campbellville shut out in Newport, Central Catholic Christian Academy Louisville one LCA beat Mayfield thirty five to sixteen. And I already told you that Corbyn won at Highlands and Boyle County beat CUVCAT. But here's here's why I'm going to bring it up again, Billy. Next Friday night, Boyle County plays Corbin. Boyle County's probably got the best senior in the state, one of the best seniors in the state, and Seneca Driver. Corbin's got the best junior in the state in Malachi Brown that's been getting recruited by Ohio State. I mean, the kid is legit for Corbyn. Kentucky and all the other schools have offered Seneca Driver at Boyle County. So if you want to see two of the top kids in the State playing the final four next week in Boyle County plays Corbyn. That will be a slugfest for sure. So all right, our final segment, we got some Schollers lined up. Let's get through them and then we'll get out here tonight Billy who we got? 00:34:33 Speaker 2: Yeah, before we do that, Ryan, it's time for our Johnny Rocker personal injury attorney, money maker of the game. 00:34:39 Speaker 1: I can't wait to hear who you picked. 00:34:40 Speaker 2: Injured get small town compassion with big city results when you call the Rocker at two seven zero three two one four four two nine. We try to normally pick somebody that wasn't the player of the game in this segment, but tonight was all about Cam Williams. Thirteen points, five of nine shooting, nine rebounds, four assists, three seals, and twenty six minutes. It was his breakout game. He is our money maker of the game. My question for you, Ryan is how many minutes does he average the rest of the way. 00:35:07 Speaker 1: Well, he's earned it. I mean he came in and provided a spark against Louisville. He's earned more minutes. So I'm gonna say if I put the over under, if he gets seventeen minutes a game, you go over. 00:35:21 Speaker 2: Under, I want to see over. I just don't know with the logjam at that position exactly, but I would I would say over after seeing the night like tonight. 00:35:31 Speaker 1: I think it's because, like I said earlier, I think it's because of his hair. I think he redid He's hair ward out a little bit. Boom has this massive game when he was the star of the game. Like I said, you've picked him as a Johnny Rocker player of the game. Maggie Davis has a TV player of the game. Jack Gibbons named him as the radio player of the game. So he is a clean sweep. Tonight, it's Cam Williams. All right, got callers lined up for our last segment. Who we got, Bill? 00:35:52 Speaker 2: You got six calls. Let's start with Shelby. 00:35:54 Speaker 1: Shelby, go ahead, Shelby. 00:35:57 Speaker 13: Hy A, good afternoon, gentleman. Thank you protecting my call. Currently making the two hour drive back home from the game to Munfferville, Kentucky, and I got two takes for you. One. I hate how much Mark Pope subs. I think we got three and a half minutes into the game and he was done changing up the start lineup. I can't stand that and number two. Have you all ever was seen the game before where there was no fouls called. I think it was two minutes left in the first half before foul was called. That was pretty crazy. 00:36:28 Speaker 1: So and Doug Shallis was one of the officials and he let him play. They just let him go. That surprising. 00:36:35 Speaker 13: I hate it. I hate I'm sure every good tek you're saying hatehim as much as I do. But thank you, gentlemen. 00:36:40 Speaker 1: I'll have a good night, all right, Shell, we be safe driving home. Yeah, they were the fastest game ever. I think they only shot two free throws in the first half, maybe three, and only shot seventeen free throws for the game. That's my kind of game. We're gonna have to stay up in the middle of the night to do the postgame show, get Billy out there to decent hour, and move on to the next day. Who we got next, Josh, Josh, go ahead, John Us. 00:37:01 Speaker 8: Yeah, I was really excited about the game. 00:37:04 Speaker 5: Uh. 00:37:05 Speaker 8: I'm gonna be a prophet right now. If we I believe we'll beat North Carolina hang gon zacha and we'll just come out victorious. 00:37:15 Speaker 1: Well, Josh, I hope all right. We appreciate that they play it, Okay, go ahead. 00:37:20 Speaker 8: I'm sorry man, Then I want to I hate it at my Mayfield Cardinals got beat tonight, you know by Lexid Christian. 00:37:27 Speaker 1: Yeah sixteen. 00:37:30 Speaker 8: Yeah, but Makefield still the biggest winning school around here. So all right, Joe, I have a good night. 00:37:36 Speaker 1: Appreciate it. Mayfield's one of the winning of schools in all the United States when it comes down to like that. So but at ELCA Winter tonight, thirty five sixteen over Mayfield. All right, it's good knowing, Billy who we got Sherry, Sherry, go ahead, Sherry. 00:37:50 Speaker 5: Hey guys, this is Sherry from carent Mississippi. And I just have to say this. I am dead at that first caller who said that d G had an off game because he did so good. 00:38:04 Speaker 1: I am one on your side, and we got a bunch of messages people criticizing that first caller. Yes, Brandon Garrison probably deserved to be criticized after the Michigan State game, but not tonight. Tonight was his best performance. 00:38:16 Speaker 5: Of the season, not tonight, And he was probably I mean, he may have been looking at some social media and saying all that and came out and was like, hey, I'm gonna pray y'all wrong, because he did good. And I'm with y'all about the fro. I think Cameron Williams Frow probably helped him out tonight. He changed his look and come out and showed out. 00:38:39 Speaker 1: Appreciate to share your exactly right, But I go ahead. I think I'm gonna wear my hair as a fro the rest of the week just in honor of Cam Winnie. 00:38:47 Speaker 5: I know, let's just put it as a well. We can't just do a fro. We got to put that bleach right there in the front. Bleach it right there in the front. But anyway, I think y'all are doing a great job. I love listening to all of y'all in the morning, and Matt wonderful. But I love y'all too, And y'all have a great night tonight. 00:39:08 Speaker 1: Thank you, Cherry. Appreciate another great call, Billy, Just another great call tonight, calling from Mississippi. Heytham, you're gonna brag on us. We're gonna say, oh yeah, that is our call to night, for sure, no doubt about it. So we get a couple more like that. It's gonna be a good show. Who we got next, Billy? 00:39:21 Speaker 2: Only two lefts. We've got Rick. 00:39:24 Speaker 7: Rick go ahead, Rick, miss bird Rick from onopillo, And I wanted to thank you Ron for coming on and wayn't any. 00:39:33 Speaker 10: Football for the last few weeks. 00:39:36 Speaker 7: Really appreciate that. 00:39:37 Speaker 1: Yeah, I saw they got beaten last week though, right. 00:39:41 Speaker 7: Right, Yes, they didn't do good. But anyway, I appreciate Ryan coming on and talking about it. And I think Chadler is gonna be a player here. To me, he's one that's doing everything right now. I don't think he continues it. And good nat had a good game. Guys, y'all did great. I've been listening to Kazor for probably teen years now every day. 00:40:12 Speaker 1: Thank you, Rick, appreciate you very much. Uh, if you had to pick the MVP, I think right now I think Rick's right. I think it is Colin Chandler. But we had to pick an MVP at the end of the season. Billy, now we've got into it, who do you think it's going to be. 00:40:27 Speaker 2: That's a great question. 00:40:28 Speaker 1: Yeah. 00:40:29 Speaker 2: Can I say Jade and Quainton's joins the team and it just looks completely different? 00:40:33 Speaker 1: Yes, because that is highly highly highly possible that could exactly happen. 00:40:37 Speaker 2: And what I'm banking on right now. I don't know if Jalen Lowe is as effective. If he's going to be battling through that shoulder. 00:40:42 Speaker 1: And see that's the thing, he may be on and off all season long. 00:40:46 Speaker 2: Do you hear what Mark Pope said in the pregame that he'd be day to day forever. 00:40:51 Speaker 1: Yeah, we've heard guys with shoulder injuries, and somebody told Mark told Matt that it just doesn't heal without surgery. It's just gonna always as it's gonna be. If we saw Altus a Lama Butler Labont tried to play through it, he'd miss time here or there because he gets bumped. Teams are gonna go after that shoulder and they set a pick. You don't think they're gonna go after and not knock that shoulder out again? Of course they are. 00:41:10 Speaker 2: So who would you pick. 00:41:14 Speaker 1: If I If if low was healthy, I would pick him. Quaintons is a really good guess. So since you since you picked Quainton's, I'm gonna pick. I'm still the believer in Otaga away Man. I picked him as my player of the game tonight before the game. I just think it's there. He just gotta find it. He's got to dig deep. Look, look, look in the mirror, look at the mirror, and just remember what made him the player he was last year and now he's not a three point specialist. You heard Bope, not just bragging on Otaga on the offensive end the night, bragging about Otaga on the defensive end of the night. So he plays best defensive game of the year. So that's that's the Otaga we need to get. So I'm still holding out hope it's gonna be him, Billy. 00:41:51 Speaker 2: Okay, I'm I'll be optimistic with you. You know, if Low doesn't play a lot, maybe Aberdeen becomes that guy. But yeah, he just misses some shots really poorly sometimes. 00:41:59 Speaker 1: Yeah, he's he's a bit off the ball. He just got to play him off the ball as much as they can. All Right, is this our last is up? Nate? Go ahead, Nate. 00:42:08 Speaker 18: Hey, guys, how are you all doing doing? Nate doing well? Sitting here in Mount Sterling made it back from the game. How about we shout out Andrea Yellovich twelve minutes, nine points full from seven p full for full for seven to go, Like what, nobody's even mentioned this guy yet? Bill Yellovich let's go col Chandler. 00:42:33 Speaker 10: Shout out. 00:42:35 Speaker 18: And shout out all you all, you all. 00:42:37 Speaker 14: Do a really good thing. 00:42:39 Speaker 18: I think, Ryan, you're really killing this. This this this postgame stuff. I think I love this stuff. Secondly, Billy, you're the man. Keep being you, keep doing what you're doing. Bban loves you. Have a great night. 00:42:54 Speaker 1: Fella loves you. Billy you keep being you. 00:42:57 Speaker 2: It's a great way to end it. 00:42:59 Speaker 1: He's about Yellowitch. We hadn't even mentioned him, and he came off the bench, only played twelve minutes, got nine points, four to seven from the field, four rebounds though that's where he can earn himself cements too by crashing the board and get some rebounds when he's in there. 00:43:11 Speaker 2: Yeah, but the lowest plus minus on the team. 00:43:13 Speaker 1: Oh he did what was it? 00:43:14 Speaker 2: Plus five? Besides Walker Horn and Zach Towell. 00:43:18 Speaker 1: Well, Walker Horn, he's the guy. He's got to improve what he's doing out there. I mean, he comes off the bench, he's got two three pointers and he can't hit you the one of them. I mean, come on, Walker over two from the field hurt our. 00:43:29 Speaker 2: Shooting percentage tonight, Ye could have had ninety. 00:43:33 Speaker 1: Zach Tao had a shot in the lane and turned it down too. Those guys that got to come off the bench ready to play. Don't be sitting over there just not paying attention when you come in. You got to execute, Zach tawe take that shot and you get it in the lane. That's my coaching for the day, all right. Kentucky wins at eighty eight forty six. For you math wizard, that's a forty two point win that beat the spread, So congratulations to deal. Who are those of you who bet that? Excuse me, we got KSR pregame show tomorrow starts at twelve thirty. It's Kentucky plays Vanderbilt at three thirty. Go Cats. Let's beat Bandy for Ryan for Billy. This is the local door. There's KSR postgame show. Goodnight,
