The Top 10 Simpsons Episodes Of Season 18

Four Finger Discount. Yes, welcome to four Finger Discount. It is the
season eighteen finale of the show. I'm very excited to get into this.
We're going to be talking about our top five episodes, but for now,
I'm Dan and I am guy. Yes, it's top five times. We
have wrapped up the entire season. Eight full seasons you've done? No,
you started, Yes, So eight full seasons you've done on the show.
Now that's correct. You've reviewed eight seasons of The Simpsons. Can you believe
it? I cannot believe it. I can, I can like yeah,
And look, I think we were pleasantly surprised a lot of the time.
I've got here in my note, Season eighteen a mixed bag that had some
absolute stinkers, some really disappointing episodes, but also a lot of my favorite
post Golden era episodes were in this season as well, and there was some
that I completely forgotten about and maybe never even seen. It really tweeted by
surprise, and I really enjoyed as well. So we're gonna get into our
top five. But there were certainly signs of burnout in this season, I
thought, with many episodes similarly running out of steam by the end of the
episode, as well as just dragging ones out with filler. Yes, episodes
that felt cobbled together out of bits and pieces that are lying around the writer's
room. Certainly say the line guy, A bunch of stuff happening, A
bunch of stuff, Just a bunch of stuff. When'd you say say?
The line Guy's like, no, I've got maybe five go to that would
be your go to set lines. Uh, take something existing and put a
clock in it. Yeah, the future is now old man, future is
now old man. Something to do with sawny yep, the one we just
said. And I don't know, I think Zach sit na say, But
I mean, I'm figure about what happened the other day. I love to
use the phrase two grade taste that tastes great together. And I can't use
that anymore because I can brockman myself. Yes, of course. But anyway,
So what we're gonna do today is gonna run through our top ten episodes.
So you're gonna pick your five. I'm gonna pick my five. But
before we do that, you're gonna try and guess my five, and I'm
gonna try and guess your five. So you say what you think my five
are going to be I won't look at you. I'll look at my screen
and then I will say the same to you. I don't want you to
I want to try and give it away. So are you going to turn
your headphones off them or listen? I'll just I'll just be straight faced.
I won't I do want to give anything. Oh you're gonna pokeer face me?
Yes? Yeah, that came out all wrong. My list of Dando's
top five number one, the Boys of Bummer No especially on my list.
Oh no, Okay, Dando's Top five The Whole whod Couple, Springfield up
twenty four minutes, Local chords, Entree of Horror, Tres Horror is our
do we not count? That's one of those it's like a default when we
put to the side because it's it's not that it's non cannon, because there's
other non cannon ones in here, but it's just it's its own thing.
Okay, let's put put in Boys Obama. Then I might take one out
of Mite. Well, I've put a bit of crossover because I had to
think that you and me have similar tastes, although history has often proven that
wrong. Hmm, let's say the mook, the chef, the wife and
her Homer. Okay, now I think your top five that one easy just
said the moot, the chef, and the wife and a Homer. I
thought, with your love of jazz, you throw in Jazzy and the pussy
Cats. You can't always say what you want. I enjoying that one.
I also thought you'd like Yocal Cords, and I was tossing it. I
couldn't quite pick one more, and I've thrown in Homer. RAZI all right,
so hit me with your number five again. I have failed to put
numbers on these, so okay, but oh start from the top, and
in my top five is Moe and a Lisa. You've got. I was
thinking about that because I know you liked mo. But I went back and
looked at my notes and I remember there we weren't completely sold on the story
by the end, so I thought that might have sort of taken it out
of your top five. But yeah, what was it that got Mow and
a Lisa over the line? For you? Two words? Shabo friend zone
as a lip bro. Yes, I've tended to do that in the but
no, I think because I am a I am the radio, because I'm
a writer and a bookworm. I tend to like anything that had sort of
a literary bent. I like the way that it's skewered the pretensions of that
whole I don't know, circle or community or whatever. And I liked I
like the relationship between Lisa and Mo. I like it when you take elements
that don't necessarily belong together and try to create something new, try to add
a dash of new flavor. And I thought it worked pretty well, honestly,
So yeah, that's I think that's the main reason that I was happy
with it. I was being facetious when I said the whole shade bone friends,
but I do find that extremely funny. What else did I enjoy that?
I mean, yeah, any any of my episode is pretty good.
I mean I liked his poetry, and I liked how I don't think mods
especially an especially deep character or anything like that. I don't think they've written
him all that deeply, but I do like the ways that they explore his
self loathing and I don't know general malecontent attitude. I think the older we
get in with today's society and just sort of the idea of social media and
how can really plan your mental health. I think mental health being a much
hot more of a hot topic these days, we can relate to my a
lot more because it seems like he is going through a lot of the mental
health issues. Had a lot of us tend to go through it from time
to time, I would say so, absolutely least to sort of when I
was a kid, I just laughed at how angry and silly he was.
You just seem like an old grump, but yoder you get, you become
an old grump. And he realized, you know what, most he's on
point. Sometimes, Oh yeah, he certainly has his moments where he's not
on point, but you know, okay, So my number five, I've
gone with ice cream of Margie with the light blue hair. I was wondering
about this one. It was it had a little asterix on. It was
like, this could be one that dand likes, but why do you like
it? Well, it's just it's always been one of those episodes where I
can buy I like when home is good at something that's right and I'm a
big thing of that, and when you can actually believe that he would be
successful at this, and it's one of those jobs I've always ponder about going
how they left it. How had he not been the ice cream man up
to this point season eighteen. It's one of those stories, but I know
I tend to get annoyed when they don't explain that he's not working at the
power plant, But this one actually gave an explanation at the start. Yes,
and yeah, it's not all that far fettered Homer would be successful as
an ice cream man. The only reason I put it at number five was
that it had to cram in the Homer and Muge relationship in peril story at
the end, which didn't need to really be there. Yeah, I think
that would be the reason why I left it off. I think it's something
that we've talked about a fair bit in that in the best episodes of The
Simpsons, or in the best seasons of The Simpsons, you've seen that Homer
and Marge's relationship they can get frustrated with one another, particularly Marge getting frustrated
with Homer. But in these later seasons it's kind of reached a sage where
it's like, why are you with him? Yeah? I mean, but
the thing is, in this episode, I don't think it was justified her
anger because I think she wanted him to get home in time for her show
or something. He was driving her really really fast, and he crashed into
all the sculptures in the popsicle sticks. He was genuinely trying. It was
an accident. It wasn't him going I'm not going to get their own time.
He was trying to be there for much and made a mistake and she
got really really angry. And I thought, of all the things, I'm
on homer side here, So I think that's why I pushed it to the
five, but just the overall story of Homer being the ice cream man.
Then Marge turned that into an occupation for herself building the popsicle stands. I
thought it was a really fun, fun episode, and it had the very
early two thousands nostylesia kick of the Ali G Show, Oh hit my ride
and all and get your freak on playing and things like that. Yeah,
now I think we're probably gonna share this next one. I mean, I
said it's one of yours, but I certainly liked it very much. And
that's the local course. I've got number three. Okay, what did you
enjoy I've got here? You know those episodes where you're expecting absolutely not shit.
But you're going too going, oh, it's going to be a Clearest
episode. I'm not going to look forward to this right, And it just
blew me away. I just remember thinking, how have I never How have
I got no recollection of this episode? I don't think I remember seeing it?
But how is no one talking about this? Because I thought this was
so great. I love that they didn't focus on the shick aspect of it.
It wasn't Clearius as a Hill, but Clearus was like the speaking of
Quite on set. This actually sort of hits a little bit harder now,
just sort of the I guess in Quite on set the parents were not happy
most of the time with what was going on here, but clear this is
just that manager taking advantage of his kids, pushed him into the spotlight,
everyone making money off them, and they it's like, we're not really happy
with this, but we're going to do it anyway. Yes, we should
clarify unless than actually recorded all this and it's the episode because we spoke Quite
on set recently on a podcast. Yes, and we also spoke for a
fair bit of it before we hit record off today's podcast, at which point
I said I was hashtag Team Snyder and I said, no such thing.
Ah, yeah, but we we have been talking about that a bit,
and yeah, it does certainly relate to this. I'm glad that what clears
wasn't sidelined. He was not front and center for this. Yeah, and
he was included. He wasn't. This is what happened. This is what
happened. If Clet has got money, he would blow it all. Yeah.
And I like that they brought Brandan back at the end because it was
a sign of a good episode where I hadn't actually thought throughout it. Where's
Brandean in all of this? And she was over in the in the army.
I believe she was deployed and she snaps clear us out of it.
But also we get the b plot of Dark Stanley, which was so great.
I really loved that Bart going to therapy but just making up the idea
of a legend, a school legend that the bloody Mary Candy Man, that
kind of thing and being scared by he gets sent to therapy and we get
Meg Ryan as doctor Swanson. That's I think one of the reasons why it
was included in my top five, because he has Team Ryan for life as
a as an eighties and nineties boy, yeah mc well eighties boy, nineties
man, she made you a man, she certainly did. Yeah, no,
yeah, that whole therapy b plot was really really entertaining. I thought
Meg Ryan did a wonderful job. I mean, as we've said in the
past, you know, you get certain actors on and you're very aware it's
like it's so and so guest where occasionally get some actors on it's like,
I'm treating this like a performance. I'm treating this like a character and play
it that way. And that was the case with Meg Ryan. I think
was not until the end credits, or at least until the final scene that
she was in, was like, who is this? They're doing a really
good job or I'm really enjoying their work, Meg Ryan, Meg Ryan.
I love when you don't know who it is, like you're saying when yeah,
that's a sign of a good a good role. When they're not trying
to when it's their voice but it's a slight twang their voice and they're creating
this character. Yeah, when did this happen? Recently? It might not
have been on The Simpsons, but it might have been on a King of
the Hill. Or something. There was Jim Cummings with Pops. Was that
man got a Thousand Boys? I think it was the Clay what's his name,
Klay Greeneberg or whatever. It was Green Day of course as a band.
Yeah, and it wasn't even Billy Joe Armstrong as it was very cool.
Yeah, they're very good stuff. I remember going to the end of
that go oh great day. Yeah. So God's was both in our yeah,
my number three, but we got the fun twist at the end of
that one as well where she ends up going to therapy because she was replacing
her son who was killed by Dark Stanley with Bart Yeah, I mean a
great what was the music from too as well? It was that dude,
Dude, it was taken from something or sampled. Oh, I don't know.
I don't think it was that, but the way you just did it
because oh talk about unified theory. Yeah. I was on Twitter just earlier
and there an account that I'm enjoying following called music Brownlow okay, where they
look at the Australian music charts of each particular year and like, okay,
give us three two ones on these, and they did nineteen ninety nine.
I was sort of looking through the list game, well what was that?
So it was just Australian songs or the ARIA charts. It was the ARIA
chart, so you had local and international artists. But one song that was
in there, I'd completely forgotten about it. I hated it then and now
I hated it even more now because it's stuck in my head again. It's
a song called two Times. Didn't you know? It's by a woman named
Ann Lee. It's sort of a it's a club song but it's but and
I had that in the brown Low Yeah. Yeah, Well, I mean
the list is all the songs and it's like you pick out your three two
ones, but it's got this Do Do Do? Two times? Yeah?
That song? Yeah? I fuck it. I hate it. I fucking
hate it. And you just did this. No. I hadn't thought about
this in two decades and then I heard it again this morning and now Dando's
doing it. What's going on? I'm just trying to find here on the
on the on the wiki page about what the music the music was. Let's
let's look here. That played during Darkstown the music from twelve Monkeys, Yeah,
twelve Monkeys, knew Yeah, and it was from something. Yeah,
it's not two times. So my number four So that was your number four,
right? Yes? Yeah, okay my number four. I have gone
with either meet the chef, the wife and her homer. Oh you really
did, Yes, yes you got that one right. Yes, I've got
your courts right as well. Yes, your cold courts for me. You're
on fire so far. I thought this was a really fun guest star heavy
episode, but it wasn't the guest stars as themselves. It was then playing
Godfather esque characters and Sopranos as characters because they had the essentially the cast of
the Sopranos on there, except for the main men himself of course. No,
no, mister Gandeltheni nationally. But you do have Michael Imperiali and Joe
and Joey. Yeah yeah, John Montoni was never in the Sopranos. Did
not play like a guest part. Don't believe so soon. No, I
can double check that right now, Joe Montanna Sopranos, have a look,
Yeah, Sopranos. You feel like it would have been a fun sort of
like, okay, you come on our show and then Joe will going on
your show. Wouldn't It wasn't the Sopranos. Joe Montagna was in The Sopranos.
I was watching The Sopranos for the seventh time, and in a Mercedes
commercial featuring featured in season three episode, I thought I heard a familiar voice.
Yes, it was David Rossi himself. I googled it to verify.
The first result was a clip of them that he played David Rossi in Criminal
Minds. Oh so he Oh sorry, I thought David ross must have been
another actor. I didn't realize if I've never watched Criminal Minds. So David
Rossi. So Joe Montani was the voice of the guy in that commercial.
Oh, okay, okay. I really loved the way they work the Sopranos
story into this. It was because The Sopranos was one of the biggest shows,
even not the biggest show on TV at the time when yeah, right,
and know it was coming close to the finale. I just think having
the one was a huge get and the way they used them. You discussed
earlier how sometimes I get guest stars on it like, hey, look,
it's Prime Minister Tony Blair. They have to actually tell you who it is,
and they just make this really obnoxious cameover. It just sort of saying
one line and they're going to have no bearing on the story. It's just,
hey, this person's on the show, so we can use them in
the trailer for the episode on the commercial Society people to watch. But I
thought this one here really felt organic and they felt like they belonged in the
Simpsons universe. It was a great combination of yea paying tribute to not just
the Sopranos, but yeah, basically the whole mob scene gangster movie genre,
right down to the closing scene, which is you know this beautiful mo'm arshaally
Godfather, but also yeah, all the stuff about I'm sorry, is he
what's the kid's named Mia, Michael, Yeah, wanting to sort of go
his own way. Well, I mean that that whole thing is very much
a Godfather tribute as well, because I mean, Michael Corleyoni doesn't necessarily want
to be part of the family business until he had to join the family business
and finds and he's a natural at it. But the whole thing about you
know, I want to be a chef and all this kind of stuff,
it's a good story about this isn't getting close to home at all about you
know, you may be different from your old man. You want to walk
a different path, or you just don't have it in YouTube walk the same
paths as your old man did, all your parents did. Yeah, I
added a whole new layder to Fat Tony's character. I thought it really did.
Yeah, Yeah, a good episode. I liked a lot. I'm
glad it was on both our lists. And Homer and Bart taking over seem
to be obvious, unrealistic, but I also really enjoyed the scenes when they
were running the show. Well, they're definitely father and son, aren't they
in terms of if you let them indulge their worst instincts, they're going to
do that. But they're actually kind of good at it as well. They're
a good team when they're doing stuff that's not necessarily good for anybody else.
Itmight of me of, you know, getting the grease or the the beer
baron that, but was that the one where it goes which is the episode
where they I know that was the grease one? Was like, we're in
the racket business too. Speaking of our shot to our man Tom with Patoure,
he recently had a scare on the field. Did you see that he
collapsed so you got a really hard bum. Then about five minutes later he's
just sort of in the middle of the field and just collapsed to the ground.
Oh good, And one of the position players was like, are you
okay, sort of helped him up again, and apparently he's done all these
tests or two straight days of tests, no concussion issues at all, but
he just collapsed. So have you doing well, Tom Liver? I hope
you're doing all right, mate. He was our guest star on our revisit
of the Grease episode talking about Grease. Yes, yes, if you haven't
checked that episode, make sure you do so funny man. All right,
I'm going to go you give me enough one of yours or you have to
mix the chef as well, did you I did, indeed, So let's
cut that one out instead. We'll go with twenty four minutes. Okay,
I've got that as my number one. Yeah. This is just top five
for me since Golden Ere. It's the best format bending episode we've had since
Trilogy of Error with Linguo and all that kind of stuff that which is a
play on is it run all the Run? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
yeah yeah. I am a huge fan of the format bending episodes. Not
huge on the trilogy ones where it's like three short stories, they can be
very hit and miss. I like the ones where it's an entire episode,
sort of taking a new format. This again one of the biggest shows at
the time, twenty four. I thought they just absolutely nailed the aspect of
being a parody. It was just so spot on. Again, they hit
just that sweet spot of like, this is very very faithful to twenty four,
very faithful to it. It's look, it's feel, its tone,
but it's still unmistakably Simpsons. Of course it's the Simpsons. But it can
be occasionally difficult to Oh, you know, we really enjoy show a we
want to pay tribute to it. And sorry to try out one of my
overused catchphrase, but some great taste don't taste great together. This was a
situation where it actually did. I mean you could tell that either they really
really really done their research on twenty four or they were just huge fans of
the show and wanted to do it just right and merge it into the into
the Springfield and Fox will like crossover. Yes, please, Billionaire turn is
up there, go. I like the idea, go ahead with that.
Yeah, but it's just funny, well written, so on point, the
transitions, the split screens, the countdown clock, everything, why the commercial
breaks it all. It felt like a twenty four episode, because yeah,
what twenty four episode you for the best of my recollection was often oh,
I don't know if I can trust this. Oh, wait a minute,
betrayal, all this kind of stuff and this said he'll turned by Martin Prince.
But it was like it was a hill time, but there was a
reason there was always a reason why. There was always a reason why.
Yeah. I mean, if it's a character that you really like, it's
either going to be oh, you've let me down the garden path all this
time, or it's like they're going to have a reason. Oh they do
have a reason. Oh, I'm invested in making sure this all works out.
They're giving himself the wedge at the end, shame and having the you
know, the bullies as the villains and yeah, all that kind of stuff.
It just felt golden here. I thought it really did. Yeah,
it was a spot on and plus having Jack and Chloe in the episode as
well, but not as the main characters. That was then as a brief
cameo. That's where a cameo worked. I think this might have been one
of the episodes where they truly realized, you know what, eighteen seasons in,
it's gonna be hard with original ideas. Maybe we can start doing more
and more of these. And they're doing more and more of these in like
season three, okay four, they did about six or seven of them,
and most of them are really really good. All right. I think those
episodes like this that made them realize, you know what, we can just
sort of take a step back and not have to think of an original idea
and just sort of have fun with this. Now we're at the point where
we don't need to have a story set in Springfield. We've still have plenty
of those, but occasionally throw one of these ones out there because they're fun.
It reminded me, this one reminds me of twenty two short films about
Springfield very much. So. Yeah, and like I said, it's great
when you've got guest stars who come to play as well. Keep the subtle
and is a fan or maybe just hanging around the Fox a lot, come
on in and keep it. But because he's doubling up, he did g
I Annoyd Grunt, which an episode I remember we did not like I believe,
so when I was looking at the listom going, did we like this
one as one where home is sort of the army invade Springfield and that's ridiculous?
Yeah? It was a really absurd it it becomes civil war essentially.
Yes, all right, Well, do you have any more that you haven't
discussed? I've got one more? Was with my number two? Uh you
did mention jazz and the Pusscats. Yes, that is I'm like, I
knew you love a jazz You really enjoyed this one? I did, indeed.
Great. Guess the cameo from White Stripes as well, that's right.
Yeah, well this is the one with the need which you think the tribute
to the video You think this is the episode that has the White Stripes in
it, but they're only in it for about thirty seconds, and of course,
you know Fox being Fox and the Simpsons being the Simpsons, tune in
for the white stripe. That's what it was, really because they were hot
shit at the time. Yeah, still out to some degree. Yes,
what did you like the most about this one? Though? This is where
Bart joins the jazz band and Lisa, I believe what was her side story
here, well, because Bart turns out to be a bit of a natural
jazz or embraced by the jazz community is what Lisa's wanted all her life.
She has to find something new, or she has to find some way to
the animals. Kids adopting animals, and she goes to the shelter. I
think she was initially going to get one and injury addicted. Yeah, it
gets addicted to saving them. Yeah. What did I enjoying about it?
Well? I think just the whole It's a nice sort of button Lisa story
by the end where he realized, you know, you're the one of the
talent. Yes, yeah, I mean what's the name of the ice hockey
one, Lisa? Lisa? And yeah, I mean the old one?
Yeah, h listen, Yeah, yeah, I tend to enjoy episodes like
that where sentimental. Yeah, I mean you ever, sister. I'm sure
there are times when you're like I can't stand this fucking person and other times
like, yeah, you rescue them from a weird pervert at the pub that
we should revisit Lisa on ice. I don't think you and I have done
it as a guy on Springfield. After check it out, we may have,
But I love that one because that episode, perfectly orchestrat uh sort of
demonstrates that sorry, where odds with your sister. But then there's the flashback
where he remembers all the things, and they remember all things like the hurting
her leg and putting the band it on and the ice cream, and it's
just like, ah, fuck, you know, we hate each other,
but it's like we've always been there for each other as well. Absolutely yeah,
I love Lisa and Nice one of my favorite episodes of all time.
If we haven't revisited it, we will do it. We'll do it again,
doing it again. I think that's certainly one of the reasons why I
enjoyed Jazzy and the Pussycadman. It's not quite Lisa and I was level,
But when you've got a good storyline, or you know, just an idea
that resonates and makes sense no matter what context you put it in there,
you use it again. I had as my number two. I've gone with
an episode that gave me the most golden ear vibes more than any episode I
can remember in recent history, and it was Homerazi. I remember watching this
and just being blown away by how much. I thought if you told me
this was season eight, I'd buy into it. I just really really loved
the idea of Homes as the paparazzi. It's again a job that you can
really believe that he would be successful at. And I thought he just he
wasn't a douchebag. But when he was a douchebag, he was just being
a paparazz and that's what they are. Yeah, he's in a douchey line
of work. So it was funny to see him being a douchebag because it's
almost like they were taking the mickey out of it. Paparazzo is the singular,
right, Yeah, taking the fun out at the paparazzo. Paparazzi,
how would you say, making fun of making fun of the paparazzi, making
fun of the paparaz Basically, because he was making fun of the paparazzi,
you were able to laugh at him being a douche bay where normally would go,
oh god, he is such a way gun. Oh this is more
jerk as Homer behavior. But it fit this role. It really really did.
And I just thought, yeah, that the this would have been an
episode you could have crammed a lot of guest celebrity cameos into but they didn't,
And I think I liked that because it made it feel more Springfield universe.
Yeah, it wasn't we're grabbing the celebrities from the It was like,
no, these are the Springfield celebrities. Yeah. And at the end,
when they're all in their little club, yeah, human stem cells leaves it
plat what are the compromising photos of Sacho Mele eating the American flag? Yes,
what's it? Paris text and making out with mill that's right, Tatum
snorting the acts of Secretariat and me Gwimby and Kent Brockman eye that bondage from
doing role play. So you could have believed this would have been a story
they may have tackled after Princess Diana's death. It may have been too close
to yeah, too hard. Well, it's a bit of an evergreen topic,
how just Yeah, crappy paparazzi in general. Yeah, at the same
time, yeah, we're all complicit because like, ooh, check out those
photos. I think at that time too, Team Z was really starting to
take off and it was becoming paparazzi was becoming a thing. Well, yeah,
it always been there, but the introduction of social media and the Internet
and Team Z becoming a real established brand of Dave represent that we like the
w WE of Paparazzi went very much. So, Yeah, it's amazing how
you can sort of look upon old things with the stalagy. You look at
the very early days of paparazzi. Will say that even up to the even
up to anything in the twenty percent, even sorry, you can look at
anything in the twentieth century like the paparazzi there it's like, oh, you
know, it's gross, but it's also kind of hey, come over here.
I don't think. Let me take a pure Robin Williams and job hanging
out in a night class well as opposed to you look at it now.
But I don't know if TMZ is solely this people just wanting to walk down
the street, yeah, or you know, go out for dinner, hanging
out at airports and it's like so and so a seth Rogan. How does
it feel to be back in the Yeah, you just landed. How are
you feeling's gone? For playing funk off? I mean, I think and
they don't have anything to publicize. I like that has sort of come around
where I think we now as a society and now accepting that leave these people
alone. We get that they you know, the celebrities, and they should
expect some sort of form of attention, But if they just sucking out the
airport, like you said, leave them alone, I think we've turned on
TMZ now. I think. But while well, I never enjoyed teams,
but it was sort of seen as like, oh what they got for us
this week. Now it's like funk off teams. Give him a break.
It's a lot of people now with the wrestling community. It's people who bother
them at the airports to get him to sign things, and they hold up
like ten pictures sign sign. It's like, you're not a fan, and
you're clearly going to go you're a flipper. Yeah, And now wrestlers have
created this thing where they don't sign things at airports anymore, and the people
are saying, oh, those preaks want well, you know, it's part
of the job. It's like, well's actually not part of the job,
no at all. No fuck based people. But yeah, so that is
the top five. So I've gone with my top five running through they're all
out of order because of you said them as well, because I was lazy

probably be twenty four minutes. There's an album of it's still fresh in their
minds, I think. But also it was just a great episode, that's
true. Yeah, it really was. In order, I would go twenty
four minutes, Yocal Cords, Mona, Lisa, No sorry, twenty four
minutes, Yoka Cards, Mook, Chef, wife, Homer, I want
to Lisa, Jazzy and the Pussycats. So I got how many of yours

Maybe it was just a bit too close, and I think like, oh,
am I choosing this because it was the last one we talked about in
Trusperation. In my mind, I did like a lot of it, that's
true. I thought you may have had stop on my dog will shoot.
I think there were good parts of it, and there are also parts that
was like, I don't know about this or I don't think it was bad.
It just felt like was this one of those ones that felt like assembled
out of various things as well? Some parts of it. Yeah, what
was the episode where it's like you're taking this long to get to the that
might have been there you can't Yeah, yeah, the episode? Alright,
so I got three and you got how many? I think I got three
as well? You guessed chords and twenty four minutes. Yeah, and also
well I was gonna give do you get me the book as well, didn't
you? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah, I think I put in Springfield up.
Yeah. I hated that episode. Oh okay, I didn't hate it.
You. I thought I was considering putting in for you. It was
just one of those ones where the decling character doesn't do it for me.
That's probably the reason why I didn't have it. I think I like the
rest of it, and I think I put in a wholeharde couple because I
know you thought about it, you like a Homer and Lisa repisd Yeah,
I really thought because I love the idea of being a parent. Now,
when you've read in the book and you game that's a little bit too much,
I'm going to change it. Just make a little bit happier. There's
nothing wrong with a little white lie. True. The worst episode ever?
Now, I've gone with a new segment here we've already done. But what
was your biggest disappointment for this season. I'm gonna throw mine out first,
right, I've gone with Kill Gill Volumes one and two. We went into
that with such high expectations of this is going to be great. It's a
Gill episode, and it left us disliking Gill, and I don't think that
would have been the intention very much the case. Yeah, No, I'm
inclined to say that was probably the biggest disappointment. Absolutely. I mean there
were episodes that were worse. I've got the Boys of Bummer and Romeold and
Juliette were two absolute stinkers in my opinion, Romeo and Juliette. Juliette was
disappointing in the sense that but there is a story there, but my god,
it you knew not fucking executed properly. Oh absolutely. And the Boys
of Bumma was just so that's a down up. Yeah, it was just
so negative all the time. But Killed Gil. I went into that expecting
so much more and it gave me nothing. I don't know if this was
a disappointment as such, but I think an episode that really just let me
down or let me feeling a bit was probably Marge Gamer. Really Okay,
I didn't mind March going, but you didn't live through the whole BG,
that's right, Yeah, where I had friends who were really in that scene
and I so I can sort of relate to it in that sense. I
never played them all that much, but I had friends who were big on
World of Warcraft and that kind of thing, so I could sort of understand
that and I didn't mind it. But anything else that didn't really sort of
tickle your fancy. I mean, you did Revenge as a best as a
dish best served three times without me, is that right? Yeah, That's
why I didn't pick it, because we didn't do it together, which we
should go back and do it because there was two stories in there that I
remember really enjoying. There was, and they both felt like almost like treos
of horror ones where there was they were, but I think it was like
superheroes, like Bartman was one of them. And then sort of Millhos gets
his device where you beat up bullies or something, and it was it was
pretty fun. Okay, well we should do that at some stage. Yes,
I think it was one of those ones I mentioned earlier that the three
story episodes that I don't really enjoyed. This one was more of a hit
than a miss, if I remember correctly. But yeah, but Kill Girls
Volume one and two. Just remember thinking I don't want to dislike Gil,
but it's hard not to now. Yeah. And at the end when he
actually becomes a success and then Marge comes in and ruins it, I was
like, who, No one comes out on top of here? Who are
we cheering for? Yeah, everyone's a bad person in this bad behavior all
round. Yeah, all right, Well, I think it's also in our
time, since we're at the end of our top ten, that we do
the wild card draw for season eighteen. Now we need to make an adjustment,

We were very worried. We had a lot of people telling you you're
gonna hate this one. It's gonna be a slog. This is when they
made the movie. There's a lot of shit episodes. There was only one
of the episodes where I went, ah, god, this is this is
death. But even that though I thought overall it was fine that I think
there were five standouts for me, but I definitely could have thrown a couple
of others in there potentially. But the five episodes that I picked are five
great episodes. Yeah, there were some really really strong go to Wyo episodes,
and there was a lot of stuff in episodes that was like really good.
I mean, I think we said on more than one occasion that's Golden
Era and stuff, Well that's Vinted Simpson. You know, if this was
in seasons six to nine or yeah, we'd go three to nine, three
nine. That belongs. That absolutely fits. Yeah, the story of this
season, I think is they were burned out and there's a lot of good
ideas and rather than sort of focus on these ideas and make them a full
flight episode, let's just throw shit at the wall. Let's patch these together,
and you know it'll it'll be Simpson's brand fever. It's going to make
us a lot of money. Since it's movie, it's got to have energy
into that. But season nineteen is coming up, and it took a screenshot
actually on Disney Plus. I've Season nineteen the first four episodes and each screenshot
has a either Homer or Marge with a clearly a guest star of a new
cap. I'm like, that's going to be one of those years. But
boy, low expectations. If you keep your expectations rock bottom or rock bottom,
then you'll never be disappointed. I'm going to be checking up a pole

brand stuff. So you know, dogs like me will go. You know,
it's really good. It is creaton. It's sort of a short cut
to establish a bona farde is a film dog? All right? Well that
