<v Speaker 4>is Jonathan. They just go John. So I just got
<v Speaker 4>used to it.
<v Speaker 5>Now that I'm getting older and a little more grizzled
<v Speaker 5>and uh, what's the word like a tom Selleck.
<v Speaker 4>You know that old Yeah, yeah, well I feel old. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I'm getting a little older.
<v Speaker 5>I I'm embracing going by Jonathan, you.
<v Speaker 1>Know, nophisticated. That's kind of sophisticated.
<v Speaker 5>You know, I might start, you know, wearing like brown
<v Speaker 5>dress shoes and call myself Jonathan.

<v Speaker 7>First things first, I might be messing the story up.
<v Speaker 7>But I remember a couple of weeks ago, in like
<v Speaker 7>Argentina or something, me and Slater were yapping about this
<v Speaker 7>podcast in the locker room and you said, what you
<v Speaker 7>have a toy podcast?
<v Speaker 1>Said yeah, you want to come on?
<v Speaker 7>And you wrote you said no, right, well, and don't
<v Speaker 7>worry about curses are cruc will bleep about.
<v Speaker 5>When you feel so of a podcast it's all about
<v Speaker 5>wrestling figures. I'm like, how how much is there to
<v Speaker 5>talk about wrestling figures?
<v Speaker 2>You know?
<v Speaker 5>Then I thought about it more and more and I
<v Speaker 5>was talking with writer here about you know, I remember
<v Speaker 5>my first action figure. It was a one of the Bushwhackers.
<v Speaker 5>I'm not sure which one because it was the only
<v Speaker 5>one they had at the store, and one half of
<v Speaker 5>the Headshrinkers, I'm also sure. And then we started talking
<v Speaker 5>about it, and then I got all my eyes all
<v Speaker 5>got all bright and stuff, and then I started thinking,
<v Speaker 5>you know, I it's easy to forget that you love wrestling,
<v Speaker 5>right and while you started loving wrestling in the first place,
<v Speaker 5>and it brought me back to my.
<v Speaker 4>Childhood and just my I love wrestling and I like
<v Speaker 4>you guys, And I said, you know, I'm putt my
<v Speaker 4>money while I'm out there coming on.
<v Speaker 2>Show.
<v Speaker 7>So literally, that's kind of like that, those good sentimental feelings,
<v Speaker 7>I think is more than half of what this podcast
<v Speaker 7>is all about.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, because when we first started this, like you said,
<v Speaker 3>people are like, what are they going to talk about?
<v Speaker 3>Why would I listen to a podcast about toys? And
<v Speaker 3>all these people now are like, oh my god, I
<v Speaker 3>had this, I had that, I remember my child and
<v Speaker 3>now they're.
<v Speaker 6>Rebuying the figures.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>I'm not saying you're gonna go out re buy some figures.
<v Speaker 3>Maybe you will, maybe I'll scratch that figure at you.
<v Speaker 5>You know, I'm not haven't really been a toy guy
<v Speaker 5>as an adult, but as a kid, I traded and
<v Speaker 5>borrowed and bartered for all the figures. Trade is where
<v Speaker 5>I get a little that that I don't get is
<v Speaker 5>that people want to keep them in the package.
<v Speaker 1>We let them.
<v Speaker 7>We're all about that on the show. We talk about
<v Speaker 7>letting him bathe and means get him out of the box.
<v Speaker 7>They're meant to be, meant to be enjoyed.
<v Speaker 5>I agree, because if a wrestling figure, if you look
<v Speaker 5>at it like a sculpture, like a work of art,
<v Speaker 5>especially some of the real detailed, fancy ones, you wouldn't
<v Speaker 5>keep it a sculpture in a package.
<v Speaker 4>You gotta put you gotta put it in three D.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah right, so sense to me.
<v Speaker 7>Bushwhack, one bushwhacker and one head trigger, which is those
<v Speaker 7>are has bros.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know, are you? How good are you? One?
<v Speaker 1>Like the lingo of the history of wrestling figures makes
<v Speaker 1>and things like that.
<v Speaker 4>None, I know that they were about yeah big, I
<v Speaker 4>know that he did the bushwhacker thing with.
<v Speaker 6>His arms, so that's a butch.
<v Speaker 1>He had a butch.
<v Speaker 4>But yeah, Okay, the mystery is solved with the hat.
<v Speaker 1>The head triggers would be a little hard to decide
<v Speaker 1>because they did the same thing.
<v Speaker 6>Well then they flip flopped.
<v Speaker 3>So he saw it with the blue card ones where
<v Speaker 3>it's totally with one of the headshrinkers. Yeah, that's that
<v Speaker 3>was a great set, and I.
<v Speaker 5>Believe the Headshrinker was like his feet were stuck together
<v Speaker 5>like a dolphin and he pressed down on his back
<v Speaker 5>and jump jump.
<v Speaker 1>Those were referred to as jumpers. They would jump and whatever.
<v Speaker 4>I had a Ultimate Warrior that did the same thing.
<v Speaker 6>Juri's water Jumper, a great classic one.
<v Speaker 4>Actually, I thought about this too.
<v Speaker 5>I was first introduced to WCW just through toys because uh,
<v Speaker 5>the first wrestling I ever saw was w W, and uh,
<v Speaker 5>I was not exposed. So now I'm a huge fan
<v Speaker 5>of like eighties U NWA and so forth, and I'd
<v Speaker 5>never seen WCW or NWA. This is maybe like six
<v Speaker 5>years old, so this is like, you know, early nineties WCW.
<v Speaker 5>But a friend of mine had his figures and we
<v Speaker 5>were playing and he had like a sting right that was.
<v Speaker 4>Like I believe it was all just solid.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, he had like a sting and a Rick Flair
<v Speaker 4>with like powder blue tights.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, that's it. Great memory.
<v Speaker 4>So and I was like, is this like a knockoff
<v Speaker 4>Ultimate Warrior? What is it? Stin?
<v Speaker 5>Then I realized it's just that I seen like a commercial.
<v Speaker 5>It was flipping through and then I saw sting in
<v Speaker 5>real life and I went, oh, that's the toys got
<v Speaker 5>there's a whole nother That was my first exposure of WCW.
<v Speaker 1>That's I have the exact same story.
<v Speaker 7>I was a WWE fan and I started to collect
<v Speaker 7>the toys and then I went to like Toys Rust
<v Speaker 7>and saw these ww guys and I was like, what
<v Speaker 7>on what is this? And I want to say, Flair
<v Speaker 7>was on TV at the time too, so it was
<v Speaker 7>making a little more sense, right. Plus I had seen
<v Speaker 7>arn and old like costume home videos as brainbusters, and
<v Speaker 7>I have the same exact story. That's how I figure out, Wait,
<v Speaker 7>there's more than one kind of wrestling, and I was
<v Speaker 7>watching them both. But I loved they were the same size,
<v Speaker 7>so you could have WW ever's WCW orden player jumped
<v Speaker 7>or sid jump.
<v Speaker 6>They'd be purpose because they'd make the figure right away.
<v Speaker 1>Let's get into stuff like that.
<v Speaker 7>Do you have like memories of playing with them, like
<v Speaker 7>collectors call it like your fig fed like growing up,
<v Speaker 7>you know, memories of like storylines or things you did
<v Speaker 7>playing with them.
<v Speaker 4>One hundred percent.
<v Speaker 5>We started with h Our first two UH signees were
<v Speaker 5>Butcher and one of the head one of the headshrinkers,
<v Speaker 5>and we went from there, kind of like POGs. When
<v Speaker 5>you're a kid, you just started acquiring and uh, I
<v Speaker 5>may have been a bit of a I may have
<v Speaker 5>been a bit of a innocent thief in my childhood days.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, recording anything.
<v Speaker 4>KB toys might have contributed, contributed a lot of a
<v Speaker 4>lot to my roster.
<v Speaker 6>But good old KB toys in that era, that's what
<v Speaker 6>it was like. The three for ten sale was a cab.
<v Speaker 5>Somehow bordered through baseball cards of figures or something, and
<v Speaker 5>I got the ring. Friend, I was very jealousy had
<v Speaker 5>the ring. This is like the original one. It was
<v Speaker 5>like a solid piece with like the.
<v Speaker 4>Had a little thing where you put a little thing
<v Speaker 4>where you wrap the belt.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that's right.
<v Speaker 7>Those rings are classic with a lot of money nowadays too,
<v Speaker 7>by the way, Yeah, a lot a.
<v Speaker 5>Lot of Buddy and just just a bunch of Battle
<v Speaker 5>Royals and wacky just playing fucking figures together, you know
<v Speaker 5>what I mean?
<v Speaker 7>And like attitude there, did you like move on to
<v Speaker 7>playing with like that era toys like well, Jack's basically
<v Speaker 7>acquired the license.
<v Speaker 1>They were a little different. They're called bone Crunchers.
<v Speaker 5>Probably the latest version of toys I played with when
<v Speaker 5>they first came out, like ninety six, with like a
<v Speaker 5>Bret Hart that.
<v Speaker 4>Was new and they were better than the old ones,
<v Speaker 4>and I was.
<v Speaker 1>Like those of the bone Crunch.
<v Speaker 4>There was like a Brett Hard and like a Vader
<v Speaker 4>who was a Vader who wasn't fat.
<v Speaker 5>Yes, we actually talked to were talking about I haven't
<v Speaker 5>thought about that decade.
<v Speaker 6>They later turned that Vader into a d Lo Brown.
<v Speaker 1>But it was a great deal because Delo wasn't that fat,
<v Speaker 1>So that was such a great Vader. But pretty good DEALO.
<v Speaker 4>That was that was a Delo body. Yeah, that makes
<v Speaker 4>more sense, right.
<v Speaker 7>So we were losers, so we kept playing, although we
<v Speaker 7>kind of like secretly played with our toys and didn't
<v Speaker 7>make it public into well into high school.
<v Speaker 3>Because when we came up to the main roster, we
<v Speaker 3>were still like figure hunted and play with toys for sure,
<v Speaker 3>but it was a different era back then. Didn't tell
<v Speaker 3>anybody toys, No, toys, toys are stupid. Yeah, we would
<v Speaker 3>pretend it. But now now we have a podcast and.
<v Speaker 4>We don't give it.
<v Speaker 3>And we're all three toys ourselves. That's that's the other question.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, how cool is it for you to get
<v Speaker 3>your first toy. I mean, now you have tons of toys.
<v Speaker 3>You're one of the most popular guys. You have tons
<v Speaker 3>of toys.
<v Speaker 6>But when you got that first one, was it was
<v Speaker 6>it cool or was it like?
<v Speaker 3>What do you think when you saw your first toy?
<v Speaker 4>It is trippy when you first make it to w W.
<v Speaker 5>That's one of those things where you're like, oh, I'm
<v Speaker 5>gonna be like in the video game and on the
<v Speaker 5>toy and everything, and it's trippy. It's like, whoa, it's
<v Speaker 5>very cool. I mean, it's just it's hard to wrap
<v Speaker 5>you brain. It's still hard to wrap my brain around that.
<v Speaker 5>I'm like that, I'm even in WW right, you know
<v Speaker 5>what I mean, you.
<v Speaker 1>Take a step back.
<v Speaker 5>Why because you're so used to just walking around and
<v Speaker 5>you're seeing like Triple H and Vincement man, and I'm
<v Speaker 5>so used to just having conversations with Vincent when it's
<v Speaker 5>hard to remember, like.
<v Speaker 4>Wholl you were like a kid watching this on TV.
<v Speaker 4>It's like, whoa are you aware that you have?
<v Speaker 7>So Mattel has like reimagined those hasbros that were just
<v Speaker 7>talking about like butching the headshrinker were that.
<v Speaker 4>You have one that's I've seen it because I sign
<v Speaker 4>them all.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, so I'm always first introduced to stuff by signing
<v Speaker 5>them at signings.
<v Speaker 6>Or fans at the airport. Yeah, which we don't condone.
<v Speaker 4>No, they ruin it for everybody.
<v Speaker 6>I thank you.
<v Speaker 4>I'm all about fans all the time in the world.
<v Speaker 5>For fans, I've done every appearance and signing that would
<v Speaker 5>last three hours.
<v Speaker 4>I always wait.
<v Speaker 5>Until everybody's done, no matter how long it takes. UH
<v Speaker 5>would be in a babyface. I always stay out there
<v Speaker 5>and sign all the autographs at the end of the
<v Speaker 5>show every single night. It takes an extra twenty minutes.
<v Speaker 5>But like some of these people ruin it forever exactly.
<v Speaker 5>We agree the airport discussion with a stack.
<v Speaker 4>Of stuff that last time signing, I'll sign all your
<v Speaker 4>at a signing.
<v Speaker 3>A couple of weeks ago, we were talking about the pod.
<v Speaker 3>Somebody came up to me and he clearly didn't know
<v Speaker 3>who I was. I said, what's my name's I'm like, dude,
<v Speaker 3>I'm not gonna size for music sign it anyway. I'm like, dude,
<v Speaker 3>you don't even know who I am.
<v Speaker 1>The airport at six in the morning.
<v Speaker 5>One of the one of the works this is when
<v Speaker 5>they send the kid see him over there, and the
<v Speaker 5>kid just walks up.
<v Speaker 4>Kenny, you sign this, and you can't say no to
<v Speaker 4>a kid.
<v Speaker 5>A guy had one time when I was first uh
<v Speaker 5>dating my now wife, she lived in New York, and
<v Speaker 5>uh sometimes on the day off, it would make more
<v Speaker 5>sense we'd spend some time in her house, sometimes in
<v Speaker 5>my house, depending on where in the country we were.
<v Speaker 4>So one time I changed my flight to go to
<v Speaker 4>New York. I didn't change it.
<v Speaker 5>I bought a new like pross line flight completely unrelated
<v Speaker 5>to like the company travel Sure.
<v Speaker 4>And when I landed in Newark, as soon as.
<v Speaker 5>I got through the gate, there was like ten people
<v Speaker 5>there with all this stan Ambrose stuff for me to sign.
<v Speaker 4>And for a second, I like, I just woke up
<v Speaker 4>from the plane, and I'm like, do I have a
<v Speaker 4>show today? What's going on? I thought I was going home?
<v Speaker 5>And then I'm like, I signed other stuff and then
<v Speaker 5>I was sending bags claim and I'm like, how did
<v Speaker 5>they know I was going to be here? It was
<v Speaker 5>an autonomous decision by myself to buy my own new flight.
<v Speaker 4>How did they know? Because you hear there's like leaks
<v Speaker 4>in the travel department. Just did this on my own.
<v Speaker 4>So they have leaks in like the airlines.
<v Speaker 5>And then this dude came up to me in Baggers
<v Speaker 5>Claim with some stuff and he said, hey, dude, I'm
<v Speaker 5>trying not trying to bother you.
<v Speaker 1>Dude.
<v Speaker 5>I'll give fifty bucks to sign these two things. And
<v Speaker 5>I went, huh, I'm want to keep your money. I'll
<v Speaker 5>sign these things for you, but tell me how you
<v Speaker 5>knew I was here. And he goes, oh, dude, we
<v Speaker 5>got like a whole system, dude. Of course, it was
<v Speaker 5>like a New York he's, dude, we got a whole
<v Speaker 5>system that you know, we got people everywhere amazing.
<v Speaker 1>I don't want to get people listening to this ideas
<v Speaker 1>on how to do it right.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, I was the die hardest of fans. I
<v Speaker 3>didn't even think to go to the airpiand I didn't
<v Speaker 3>even think about it.
<v Speaker 4>No, I'd be scared to talk about it.
<v Speaker 5>And then the thing is, even if you're like because
<v Speaker 5>there's sometimes they're just legit fans. You can like when
<v Speaker 5>we land in like McCallan Airport and Hidalgo, Texas, it's
<v Speaker 5>like people probably don't know when we go to this
<v Speaker 5>one particular town in Texas right on the border of
<v Speaker 5>Mexico Hidalgo. When we land and it's tiny little airport,
<v Speaker 5>it's like the Beatles just landed.
<v Speaker 4>The whole a whole town.
<v Speaker 5>Come and they're like, they're not collectors, they're just really
<v Speaker 5>passionate fans. It's one of our best crowds, and like,
<v Speaker 5>you gotta take the time for them.
<v Speaker 4>You know, that's a little different.
<v Speaker 1>It's pure the intentions of what you know they're trying
<v Speaker 1>to do with the items.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, you gotta step back and be like, Okay, this
<v Speaker 4>is the I'm living the dream right now. You know
<v Speaker 4>they got your ask you have.
<v Speaker 6>I got saw and I got rigged playing.
<v Speaker 1>He's d guy and you're not glemen.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, and Brian and met Car they're so real.
<v Speaker 4>Can you tell the.
<v Speaker 6>Difference Restrica radio style?
<v Speaker 4>Big rubber guys, they're for real.
<v Speaker 1>He's sold separately on major bendis dot com. Big rubber
<v Speaker 1>guys collect them.
<v Speaker 4>All, but those other people do ruin it for everybody.
<v Speaker 7>Just like people's stuff and autographs really isn't worth oh
<v Speaker 7>a lot unless you die.
<v Speaker 6>It's like rember zach Ryder tops cars or no one's
<v Speaker 6>going on eBay. It's like I want to buy it.
<v Speaker 6>If they're buying it, it's five bucks.
<v Speaker 1>You know, there's no market for it. It's a very
<v Speaker 1>I don't know if you knew.
<v Speaker 3>This, but sometimes if they ask you to sign their
<v Speaker 3>name on the figure, they can remove that. That's a
<v Speaker 3>trick that they do so they make it seem like
<v Speaker 3>they're this genuine fan. But they can use like some
<v Speaker 3>sort of even like a wind Dex and just just wipe.
<v Speaker 1>It Rock to Billy Gone and just as Dean Ambrose.
<v Speaker 4>That makes sense.
<v Speaker 3>It sucks, But so do you have any of your
<v Speaker 3>Dean Ambrose figures or you're like there's just too many
<v Speaker 3>anything you collect?
<v Speaker 1>Like whatsoever?
<v Speaker 4>No, really, I'm a see I'm not.
<v Speaker 5>I'm known a lot of people who you go into
<v Speaker 5>their house, even as adults, and it's like a toy store, right,
<v Speaker 5>they got it all over the place.
<v Speaker 2>The wall.
<v Speaker 1>Well, they're sitting next to two, one more than the other.
<v Speaker 5>There's nothing wrong with that. I am, in general a minimalist.
<v Speaker 5>Having stuff. I feel like it weighs me down.
<v Speaker 3>When I moved, Uh, you'd have a heart attack if
<v Speaker 3>you came to my house.
<v Speaker 4>I moved to Vegas.
<v Speaker 5>I had nothing but the bags on my back empty apartment.
<v Speaker 5>When the girlfriend first saw my apartments at the time,
<v Speaker 5>she's like, is this a crack den? Where is your stuff?
<v Speaker 5>I was like, I don't know, Like I don't have
<v Speaker 5>any I'm on the road all time. I don't have
<v Speaker 5>any stuff. So like now we have a house and
<v Speaker 5>as it's been filled with stuff.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that I like.
<v Speaker 5>But sometimes I'm like, I feel like I gotta purge.
<v Speaker 5>Sometimes I'm like cleaning out the garage, just throwing I
<v Speaker 5>got to throw stuff away, right. I like to be
<v Speaker 5>able to just cut my ties and go.
<v Speaker 1>You know, if you have anything Ambrose that you've like
<v Speaker 1>kept on too, that's like sentimental to you have a.
<v Speaker 5>Couple cool like posters and chairs from like event, like
<v Speaker 5>we had starkad and Cincinnati and it was a very
<v Speaker 5>good night for me, you know, and I just had
<v Speaker 5>a bunch of people there.
<v Speaker 4>So, uh, that's where I'm from. So I kept the
<v Speaker 4>chair put it up at my gym.
<v Speaker 1>You know.
<v Speaker 5>I have a couple of things like that. The thing,
<v Speaker 5>I'm sure they do it to you. They send you
<v Speaker 5>boxes of your own toys.
<v Speaker 2>Yea.
<v Speaker 5>So at first you're like giving to people and you know,
<v Speaker 5>but at a certain point they start sending me at
<v Speaker 5>such a rate, and I'm like, I don't need boxes
<v Speaker 5>of my own face.
<v Speaker 1>So I think you've reached a different level. You know,
<v Speaker 1>we possible to send Jonathan.
<v Speaker 6>You have so many it's unbelievable, like.
<v Speaker 5>An unreal amount of figures. Oh it's at the years
<v Speaker 5>he's been up here. At one point I had him
<v Speaker 5>like had stacks of them in the garage. So if
<v Speaker 5>people come and visit, I'm like, here, take some toys
<v Speaker 5>with you, give them to your friends.
<v Speaker 1>Well that's a good feeling though, you know.
<v Speaker 4>But at one point, I like I threw a bunch
<v Speaker 4>of them away.
<v Speaker 5>It's unopen, nice toy like because I had like boxes
<v Speaker 5>and they're taking up all space, and I was like,
<v Speaker 5>get out of my house, like I just want a
<v Speaker 5>dumpster and put them in the back of the truck
<v Speaker 5>and dump like four boxes full of toys. Probably like
<v Speaker 5>pretty valuable, but I'm not valuable. But you know, I
<v Speaker 5>wish we would have counted how many that he has had.
<v Speaker 5>I would say fifty two, one hundred for sure, easily.
<v Speaker 5>I told my mom that and she looked at me
<v Speaker 5>like I murdered a child. I was like that I
<v Speaker 5>had to throw a bunch of them away. She's like,
<v Speaker 5>because she's always trying to give.
<v Speaker 1>Them the people for moms, especially, my mom's always asking
<v Speaker 1>me for stuff.
<v Speaker 4>But every two days there's like a new box of toys.
<v Speaker 7>Really, you just my memory that you're from Cincinnati. Did
<v Speaker 7>you have the Brian Pillman and the Bengals and that
<v Speaker 7>same I did not know, didn't.
<v Speaker 4>I don't think I've ever seen that.
<v Speaker 1>Really, that was the same line as that thing and
<v Speaker 1>Rick Flair you were talking about.
<v Speaker 6>That was a hard one for me to get.
<v Speaker 4>We talked about.
<v Speaker 1>I didn't remember that being hard to find for me.
<v Speaker 4>It was when the ww ones were so much bigger.
<v Speaker 5>Kind of was weird because they'd been fighting like the
<v Speaker 5>you know, whatever your child brain puts it, like like
<v Speaker 5>like Ohl Cogan's on steroids.
<v Speaker 4>He's a bad guy because he's twice as big as.
<v Speaker 1>Like things make sense, right, I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>We Yeah, we do this podcast every week and we
<v Speaker 3>just keep going and talk. So we'd love that you're
<v Speaker 3>that you wanted to talk about figures because people love hearing.
<v Speaker 1>Especially after the initial no I got. Yeah, an Argentin, glad.

<v Speaker 4>If you acquire the skills to be like in food service,

<v Speaker 5>It's the same everywhere, right, So like if you get
<v Speaker 5>fire from apple Bee's, jump over to Olive Garden, get
<v Speaker 5>fired from you know, and just keep keep wrestling the priority.
