<v Speaker 1>Hey, everybody, welcome to Game Most Mornings with Me Jeff Grub,
<v Speaker 1>your host from giant bomb dot com. Thank you for
<v Speaker 1>tuning in. In this episode, we're going to be talking
<v Speaker 1>about that Nintendo Is this the the one from yesterday?
<v Speaker 1>Oh no, I'm looking at the wrong thing. I got
<v Speaker 1>to set up. We are going to be talking about
<v Speaker 1>basically the Steam Machine got delayed and that Nintendo partner direct.
<v Speaker 1>It's gonna be a good one because I got the
<v Speaker 1>right sheet up now and we have Janachoa on the show.
<v Speaker 2>Jan how are you doing, Grub?
<v Speaker 3>I think it's been a hot second since I've been
<v Speaker 3>actually on the show on Thursdays, when.
<v Speaker 2>I normally in a minute.
<v Speaker 3>So, yes, I understand the little kerfuffle we had at
<v Speaker 3>the tippy top grab It's fine, It's.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, I'm not ready for this. Things are back
<v Speaker 1>to normal and I'm not ready for it. Also, now,
<v Speaker 1>when you asked me that question for the mic check,
<v Speaker 1>did you mean.
<v Speaker 3>Bobble or bable babble like okay, okay, Bible.
<v Speaker 1>I also like babbles. Yes, that's for people wondering. I
<v Speaker 1>like bobble, like that concept, but also little trinkets.
<v Speaker 2>Sure give me those things. I like that.
<v Speaker 3>Give me a Yeah, we're a bunch of little trinkets here.
<v Speaker 2>That's right.
<v Speaker 1>We're allowed to say that. Other people aren't allowed to
<v Speaker 1>say that about us. We could say it about each other. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>sweet a little.
<v Speaker 2>And Jan, uh Jan, how you been man? Are you
<v Speaker 2>hanging in there? Uh?
<v Speaker 3>You know, grub, I realized that you in Uh. When
<v Speaker 3>you're learning about things and studying things and improving things,
<v Speaker 3>you can apply all that towards yourself, it turns out,
<v Speaker 3>and you can, you know, in the same way that
<v Speaker 3>you obsess over perhaps a character build in a video game,
<v Speaker 3>you could perhaps do the same to yourself and then
<v Speaker 3>actually look up and address, why do my knees feel
<v Speaker 3>like they're constantly going to feel like they're exploding? And
<v Speaker 3>then address that.
<v Speaker 2>It turns out, yeah, I didn't know that. What are
<v Speaker 2>you doing for the knees? You're doing some like backward
<v Speaker 2>like slide poles or sled poles.
<v Speaker 1>I'm walking backwards. It turns out very good for the knees.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, yes, actually, but we're also foam rolling them out.
<v Speaker 3>Turns out, oh right. If you want to alleviate a
<v Speaker 3>specific part, you can also just massage the parts around that.
<v Speaker 1>Uh, huh wow, reminding your body that other muscles are
<v Speaker 1>there to support those muscles.
<v Speaker 2>That's like, that's the thing. I got some back muscles
<v Speaker 2>that my body just like doesn't know are there.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, And it's like, we're not gonna activate these things
<v Speaker 1>ever unless you think about it actively.
<v Speaker 2>Well that seems pretty stupid, body.
<v Speaker 1>But but yeah, now that I've begin like strengthening the
<v Speaker 1>muscles around it, it's like, oh, now that those muscles
<v Speaker 1>are supported and I can activate them easier.
<v Speaker 3>Grab one last thing, and like, I know it may
<v Speaker 3>annoy folks about me talking about running going to the gym,
<v Speaker 3>I don't fucking care. But I had, for the first
<v Speaker 3>moment in my life, one of those collective gym celebration experiences.
<v Speaker 3>And then I think I understand now. I had to
<v Speaker 3>do an evaluation because like my first month of personal
<v Speaker 3>training happened, and my trainer was like, all right, well,
<v Speaker 3>then we go to do five consecutive goblet squats, then ten,
<v Speaker 3>then twenty of half of my body weight, and I
<v Speaker 3>was like, oh, that's a lot. That's like one hundred
<v Speaker 3>something pounds. I did it, and then afterwards there was
<v Speaker 3>like a collective roar in the gym and I was like.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that's crazy, good work, man, that's that's fantastic. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>And and you're right, like you're doing all this work,
<v Speaker 1>it pays dividends in other areas of your life. It
<v Speaker 1>turns out like building strength conditioning. Conditioning is like a
<v Speaker 1>good metaphor for just everything. You got to be like
<v Speaker 1>strengthening up your your your body and your soul and
<v Speaker 1>kind of being willing to put yourself, like your mind
<v Speaker 1>through some resistance as well, so you don't just become
<v Speaker 1>a sloppy asshole. You gotta be a cool dude and
<v Speaker 1>think about yourself and improve all the time. All right,
<v Speaker 1>let's explain ourselves. We're Giant Bomb. We have a little
<v Speaker 1>thing here where you go to giant bomb dot com
<v Speaker 1>slash join you come. I'm a premium member and that
<v Speaker 1>supports us in everything we do here. We are independent
<v Speaker 1>games media out here on our own. We need your help,
<v Speaker 1>your support to continue doing this, and we get the
<v Speaker 1>sense you all want to continue and make sure that
<v Speaker 1>we have things going on over on giant Bomb. And
<v Speaker 1>if that's the case, thank you so much, and thank
<v Speaker 1>you everybody who's already joined. We really appreciate it.
<v Speaker 2>We see it. It means the world.
<v Speaker 1>We want to keep doing awesome stuff over here, and
<v Speaker 1>you all ensure that can happen, and.
<v Speaker 2>Stuff's in the works. Stuff is in the works.
<v Speaker 1>Grub's next premium went up yesterday. That is barely the
<v Speaker 1>tip of the iceberg. We got plenty more on the
<v Speaker 1>way for people specifically who are supporting us. And then
<v Speaker 1>of course all this other cool stuff that we have
<v Speaker 1>out here that everyone can watch that's happening as well.
<v Speaker 1>As far as this show goes, most weekdays, I Jeff
<v Speaker 1>Greb will help piece your gaming life back together. That
<v Speaker 1>includes breaking news and maybe even some of our own
<v Speaker 1>original reporting. For all these topics, I'll get the input
<v Speaker 1>of a bona fide expert who will make me look smart.
<v Speaker 1>You are watching live on twitch Welcome. You can always

<v Speaker 2>Hello YouTube.
<v Speaker 1>All right, we have a lot to get into, so
<v Speaker 1>let's start the Morning Mess with Valve confirms Steam Machine
<v Speaker 1>price and release details have been delayed due to exploding
<v Speaker 1>component prices.
<v Speaker 2>This is from Andy Robinson at VGC.
<v Speaker 1>Valve has confirmed the rapidly increasing price of PC components
<v Speaker 1>has delayed its announcement or caused the delay of its
<v Speaker 1>announcement of Steam Machine and Steam Frame pricing and release dates.
<v Speaker 1>In a blog post published on Wednesday, Valve set it
<v Speaker 1>still planned to release its console like PC and VR
<v Speaker 1>headset in the first half of this year. Excuse me,
<v Speaker 1>but that it would need more time to land on.
<v Speaker 1>This is a quote concrete pricing and launch detail launch
<v Speaker 1>dates that we can confidently announce when we announced these products,
<v Speaker 1>or when we did announce these products in November. We
<v Speaker 1>planned on being able to share space civic pricing and
<v Speaker 1>launch dates by now. The post reads, but the memory
<v Speaker 1>and storage shortages you've likely heard about across the industry
<v Speaker 1>have rapidly increased since then. The limited availability and growing
<v Speaker 1>prices of these critical components, I mean we must revisit
<v Speaker 1>our exact shipping schedules and pricing, especially around steam Machine.
<v Speaker 2>And Steam Frame.
<v Speaker 1>The other thing being the steam controller, right that seems
<v Speaker 1>a little bit less effected and it would be does
<v Speaker 1>not need ram Our goal of shipping all three products
<v Speaker 1>in the first half of this year has not changed,
<v Speaker 1>but we have what we have work to do to
<v Speaker 1>land on concrete pricing blah blah blah, and that they
<v Speaker 1>talked about. Okay, Yeah, I'm not too surprising. It does
<v Speaker 1>feel very frustrating, though, right Jen.
<v Speaker 3>Oh Yeah, I mean, you know, Dan and I spent
<v Speaker 3>a whole day talking to the engineers over there at Valve,
<v Speaker 3>and all of them are like super jazzed to make
<v Speaker 3>the steam machine, and it didn't feel like they were
<v Speaker 3>trying to make it to turn. I mean, of course
<v Speaker 3>they're trying to make profit, but also it feels like
<v Speaker 3>a passion project. So having this limitation now of components
<v Speaker 3>and then trying to figure out a price that is
<v Speaker 3>reasonable not only to sell something but to make it.
<v Speaker 3>It's it's got to be incredibly frustrating, especially with the
<v Speaker 3>fairly positive buzz that came out when they with the
<v Speaker 3>original announcement of it.
<v Speaker 2>Yep.
<v Speaker 1>It's you know, I'm starting to get excited about the
<v Speaker 1>idea of the steam frame even and it's like I
<v Speaker 1>was kind of hoping, oh that maybe that could stick
<v Speaker 1>by It's like no, Yeah, that thing uses a ton
<v Speaker 1>of ram as well. It's going to need internal storage
<v Speaker 1>as well. Both those things getting hit by those exploding prices.
<v Speaker 1>You know, this still feels like a big step toward
<v Speaker 1>the future of what PC gaming and gaming overall is
<v Speaker 1>going to look like in the next ten years, and
<v Speaker 1>it does. Part of it feels inevitable, but part of
<v Speaker 1>it feels it felt inevitable because it's like Man, Valve
<v Speaker 1>is going to force the issue here. They're going to
<v Speaker 1>be able to get this out there and really kind
<v Speaker 1>of lead the and show people what you know, Linux
<v Speaker 1>gaming can be and can look like and how well
<v Speaker 1>it can work. And then on the Steam frame, what
<v Speaker 1>it's like to have Like that's Android, right, Android with
<v Speaker 1>its own proton layer that enables the traditional X eighty
<v Speaker 1>six games to work on there. Like, that's another huge
<v Speaker 1>leap that could like really unlock things here as we
<v Speaker 1>get more arm hardware. I want this stuff now. I
<v Speaker 1>want it to happen. I want this to get started,
<v Speaker 1>because it's like we look around and all the other
<v Speaker 1>hardware stuff is a little bit well, you know, the
<v Speaker 1>future of the PS PlayStation and the Xbox it's like, God,
<v Speaker 1>that stuff's going to be really expensive, and it's gonna
<v Speaker 1>be these lockdown consoles. They're going to be very familiar
<v Speaker 1>it's going to be very hard for them to make
<v Speaker 1>something that stands out. And it's like that, you know,
<v Speaker 1>on the PC side of things, we've kind of accepted
<v Speaker 1>it's a marginal sort of improvement with every new generation,
<v Speaker 1>and that's that's fine. Can we just make it easier
<v Speaker 1>to play the games we want to play, and that's
<v Speaker 1>what this is on the path of delivering. But now
<v Speaker 1>we have to live in this world where because of
<v Speaker 1>AI and you know, I guess people maybe not been
<v Speaker 1>listening to the show recently and or listening to this one.
<v Speaker 1>We talked about this a bunch of times, that these
<v Speaker 1>prices are going up due to the pressures of these
<v Speaker 1>companies that make storage, they make memory. They're putting their
<v Speaker 1>efforts into selling things to AI companies for a much
<v Speaker 1>much higher price. They are not interested in selling RAM
<v Speaker 1>the way they once were for consumers and for PC
<v Speaker 1>PC sales. So and that's not going to change any
<v Speaker 1>time throughout the end of this year. So, okay, they
<v Speaker 1>want to deliver this thing jan before the end of
<v Speaker 1>the first half.
<v Speaker 2>Of this year.
<v Speaker 1>So by the end of July, it's what they're saying,
<v Speaker 1>or the end of June, I should say, what's going
<v Speaker 1>to change by then, Like is this just them being
<v Speaker 1>able to like figure things out and sort of mitigate
<v Speaker 1>the damage.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know what they can figure out at this point,
<v Speaker 3>because it feels like if you were trying to ramp
<v Speaker 3>up production for a product, all of the components have
<v Speaker 3>to be fairly set in stone at this point, so
<v Speaker 3>there can't be a lot of fudging around to try
<v Speaker 3>and like cheaper parts that aren't are maybe less in demand,
<v Speaker 3>like RAM like memory and everything. Like I don't know,
<v Speaker 3>maybe like heat sinks are cheaper somewhere else, or they
<v Speaker 3>can find a different fan to stick on the Steam machine.
<v Speaker 3>But that doesn't exclude stuff like the new Steam frame
<v Speaker 3>and everything. And I agree with the grub. I think
<v Speaker 3>the Steam We've seen that the Steam deck has a
<v Speaker 3>positive influence on gaming, and I can only assume that
<v Speaker 3>a Steam machine in a Steam frame, where VR gaming
<v Speaker 3>may be a little bit a little bit more easier
<v Speaker 3>and higher fidelity than the Metaquest three, that it could
<v Speaker 3>also have another positive boom in gaming. Because a new Xbox,
<v Speaker 3>a new PlayStation, I will say I am not excited
<v Speaker 3>for it because of how lockdown it's going to be.
<v Speaker 3>Because for the average consumer they've already been waiting for
<v Speaker 3>five ish years now on the P five and not it,
<v Speaker 3>and for a lot of folks not they haven't felt
<v Speaker 3>the return in terms of games, right versus someone that
<v Speaker 3>invests is able to play and invest in PC gaming.
<v Speaker 3>You have a wide swath, huge, gigantic library, and that
<v Speaker 3>includes so many indie games and games that go on
<v Speaker 3>sale for pennies where you can play the fun math
<v Speaker 3>game of eight dollars is five dollars four as five
<v Speaker 3>five is five dollars.
<v Speaker 2>Yep, it's that's right.
<v Speaker 1>We like, there's only so much boy math that can
<v Speaker 1>be done here to solve this issue. Like at a
<v Speaker 1>certain point we're going to have to just grint and
<v Speaker 1>bear these prices. A couple of things the Steam frame, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>not Android, I meant arm arm processor.
<v Speaker 2>That is what it's using.
<v Speaker 1>That's exciting for the same reason though it would be
<v Speaker 1>able to sort of unlock some of those problem some
<v Speaker 1>of these those games for Android in the way that
<v Speaker 1>we're already seeing with a bunch of tools that can
<v Speaker 1>do that. But Valve showing up to that party is
<v Speaker 1>a big sign that that's going to get started for real.
<v Speaker 1>The other thing is people are like yeah, maybe this
<v Speaker 1>extra time will help Valves sort things out with suppliers
<v Speaker 1>and get the supply chain, you know, more taught, so
<v Speaker 1>they can like cut out some of the excess and
<v Speaker 1>save some money here or there. It's yeah, there's just
<v Speaker 1>not a lot of options, right, because there's there's Micron,
<v Speaker 1>there's sk Heinex, and there's Samsung. Those are the three
<v Speaker 1>companies making RAM and flash storage. For the most part.
<v Speaker 1>It's that when you have only three options, there's just
<v Speaker 1>not a lot of place time to like turn from
<v Speaker 1>one to the other. And when they make their decisions
<v Speaker 1>to put more money into AI. Although you know, this
<v Speaker 1>week it's a little bit different. Their stock price is
<v Speaker 1>going down. I've mentioned before. Every time Micron's like, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>we're not making RAM for co co consumers anymore, We're
<v Speaker 1>gonna go make it just for AI, their stock price
<v Speaker 1>continues to go up and up and up. So investors
<v Speaker 1>are telling them they're making the right decision. Valves showing
<v Speaker 1>up and saying, hey, can you help us figure this out?
<v Speaker 1>It's like, well, what's that going to do for our
<v Speaker 1>stock price?
<v Speaker 2>Nothing? Yeah, it's that that's the motivating factor here.
<v Speaker 1>So it could get complicated and that does not mean
<v Speaker 1>that like I think Valve is going to miss this
<v Speaker 1>window of releasing it in the first half of the year.
<v Speaker 1>It's just like, I think they are trying to figure
<v Speaker 1>out the way that they can keep the price down
<v Speaker 1>as best as they possibly can, and then how do
<v Speaker 1>you sort of message things in a way where it's like,
<v Speaker 1>here's the price, you guys, get it right. And part
<v Speaker 1>of that is just waiting a little bit jamm because
<v Speaker 1>prices on everything are going to keep going up and
<v Speaker 1>everyone's going to be like, oh, the Steam Deck is
<v Speaker 1>not an anomaly, it's par for the course. And now
<v Speaker 1>that it's summertime and we've had some time to notice
<v Speaker 1>all the prices on everything, we're looking around and everyone
<v Speaker 1>understands that that's part of it, right.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, one hundred percent of crub And I mean with
<v Speaker 3>all of these rumblings, because they feel like for the
<v Speaker 3>past week two weeks, we've started to cover more stories
<v Speaker 3>about what does the next PlayStation look like? What does
<v Speaker 3>the next Xbox look like? Do you think that at
<v Speaker 3>all is informing Valve and how to approach, uh, even
<v Speaker 3>marketing the Steam Machine this point after that initial announcement,
<v Speaker 3>because they know that components are going to play a
<v Speaker 3>factor into pricing this thing.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I think they get they're just rethinking everything, right
<v Speaker 1>they they You know, the way that we understand Valve
<v Speaker 1>to work is that flat structure.
<v Speaker 2>And everyone can kind of go work on whatever they want.
<v Speaker 1>At the the end of the day, there's got to
<v Speaker 1>be someone like look around, like making the decision of
<v Speaker 1>like when this thing is going to launch? Uh, and
<v Speaker 1>you know maybe that's a collective group effort as well,
<v Speaker 1>but you know, at a certain point, there's got to
<v Speaker 1>be someone's like, hey, I feel really bad about like
<v Speaker 1>us putting this out at at this price because we're
<v Speaker 1>going to lose too much money. And this is not
<v Speaker 1>like this is a thing that we need to least
<v Speaker 1>break even on. It's unlike the steam deck for whatever reason,
<v Speaker 1>but we need to break even on this one. So
<v Speaker 1>then I but I also feel bad about the price
<v Speaker 1>that I'm going to suggest. So why don't we all
<v Speaker 1>just you know hit the pause button because we can?
<v Speaker 2>Because we can. We don't answer it to anybody.
<v Speaker 1>Our stock price is not going to go up or
<v Speaker 1>or down based on this because we're privately owned, so
<v Speaker 1>we we have the luxury of sort of of pausing
<v Speaker 1>and looking around and being like, we're not trying to
<v Speaker 1>make anything by a certain quarter or whatever due to
<v Speaker 1>financial reasons other than we've spent money on this thing.
<v Speaker 1>We've got to start making money back. And so I
<v Speaker 1>think that gives them time to stop and say, yes,
<v Speaker 1>let's figure out a way to talk about this, to
<v Speaker 1>explain it, to get people used to it, and then
<v Speaker 1>also at the same time, maybe we can figure out
<v Speaker 1>some answers to keep the price down as much as possible.
<v Speaker 2>It's it's not going to be easier.
<v Speaker 1>It's like, this is the thing that I think a
<v Speaker 1>lot of people were predicting when the thing first got announced,
<v Speaker 1>where it's like, oh, those prices on the price on
<v Speaker 1>memory is starting to go up right now, and it
<v Speaker 1>looks like it's just going to keep going up through
<v Speaker 1>all of twenty twenty six. And here we are, and
<v Speaker 1>it's just as painful as everyone was predicting it would.
<v Speaker 3>Greb, do you I mean, with all these talks of
<v Speaker 3>possibly pushing back the Steam Machine and the Steam frame release,
<v Speaker 3>do you think that affects the controller as well? Because
<v Speaker 3>I've seen a lot of people hoping that they can
<v Speaker 3>at least get the controller soon because of how neat
<v Speaker 3>it looked in the presentation or them revealing it.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, the way that they're talking about it here in
<v Speaker 1>this post is the controller is less affected by the
<v Speaker 1>things that are causing the delays for the other two devices.
<v Speaker 1>And yet every time they talk about the three devices,
<v Speaker 1>they talk about them as a collective thing that will
<v Speaker 1>all drop at the same time. So I think it
<v Speaker 1>for a part of their marketing strategy here is to
<v Speaker 1>build excitement about a big drop for all these three
<v Speaker 1>related things, and I think they want to maintain that.
<v Speaker 1>So I think, you know, that is what will be
<v Speaker 1>affected here is. Yeah, the controller might come out a
<v Speaker 1>little bit later than everyone was hoping, even though it
<v Speaker 1>probably could come out right now, because they want to
<v Speaker 1>pair it up with the device, with the frame and
<v Speaker 1>the machine, which I get, but yeah, I kind of
<v Speaker 1>wish I could just get my hands on that controller.
<v Speaker 2>It did look pretty cool real quick though.
<v Speaker 1>Valve did claim that the Steam Machine testing shows the
<v Speaker 1>majority of games run at four K sixty. When you're
<v Speaker 1>using FSR, you know they can run at four K
<v Speaker 1>sixty I oneer. If that's a consistent sixty frames per second,
<v Speaker 1>the thing is six times more powerful than a Steam deck.
<v Speaker 2>Steam Deck can run most games. When it can't run
<v Speaker 2>a game.
<v Speaker 1>It's usually like, oh, man, if I just had ten
<v Speaker 1>percent more power, I'd probably be able to get a
<v Speaker 1>decent frame rate here.
<v Speaker 2>So the Steam Machine's probably going to be fine to
<v Speaker 2>run most games.
<v Speaker 1>You're not gonna be able to turn on all the
<v Speaker 1>bells and whistles, but you're gonna be able to run
<v Speaker 1>most games. And I think one of the more exciting
<v Speaker 1>aspects of this is this could be a solution to
<v Speaker 1>the problem we're about to face shan right, because if
<v Speaker 1>this thing comes out and just establishes not just a baseline,
<v Speaker 1>but like a healthy, smart target for every developer to say,
<v Speaker 1>just make sure your game runs really well on.
<v Speaker 2>The Steam machine for the.
<v Speaker 1>Next five to eight years, that would be like, Okay,
<v Speaker 1>we're gonna slow things down. The amount of memory you
<v Speaker 1>do need will be frozen by the Steam machine, and
<v Speaker 1>we can all just maybe enjoy the machines that we
<v Speaker 1>have for a long period of time while the rest
<v Speaker 1>of the world sorts this business out.
<v Speaker 2>But we'll see steam Deck was already doing that a
<v Speaker 2>little bit.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, Grub And I mean, I don't know what Dragon
<v Speaker 3>the industry or and I'm not saying the industry as
<v Speaker 3>a whole, but like the Triple A side of the
<v Speaker 3>game's industry is trying to chase at this point other
<v Speaker 3>than trying to hook players in on a daily basis
<v Speaker 3>with their gray dark patterns. But I don't need things
<v Speaker 3>to look better than they look now, Grub. To be honest, no,
<v Speaker 3>I don't think I needed them to look better than
<v Speaker 3>they did on the PS four.
<v Speaker 1>Yep, exactly, Like I'm happy that, Like, give me PS
<v Speaker 1>four graphics at sixty frames per second, I'm going to
<v Speaker 1>be pretty good for the most part. You know, the
<v Speaker 1>big companies are going to continue to want to separate
<v Speaker 1>their games by spending a lot of money on them
<v Speaker 1>making them looking better. But there's fewer in few of
<v Speaker 1>those companies every day, So yeah, that feels like an
<v Speaker 1>antiquated way of doing things. All right, let's do this
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo Partner Direct roundup. Happened this morning. We did a
<v Speaker 1>talk over. I got a rundown of the announcements for
<v Speaker 1>my Nintendo News Indiana Jones and The Great Circle is
<v Speaker 1>coming May twelfth, both physically and digitally. We knew that
<v Speaker 1>was coming, but preorders began today and now we have
<v Speaker 1>a date. Bethesda also announced a Fallout four Anniversary edition
<v Speaker 1>is coming to switch To. That is Let's See Here
<v Speaker 1>Anniversary Edition launches digitally on switch To February twenty fourth,
<v Speaker 1>physically on April twenty eighth. Pre Orders also begin later
<v Speaker 1>today on the e Shop.
<v Speaker 3>If I was if I was making Fallout four, here's
<v Speaker 3>what I would do, right, because you can kind of
<v Speaker 3>assume that everyone that has a switch to already has
<v Speaker 3>a switch right. You just make it a dual screen
<v Speaker 3>game and just release a pit boy to throw your
<v Speaker 3>switch one onto.
<v Speaker 1>There you go again, like just like some like leather straps,
<v Speaker 1>so you could strap your switch.
<v Speaker 3>One to your arm exactly I want it.
<v Speaker 2>Yep, that's beautiful.
<v Speaker 1>The Elder Scrolls for Oblivion Remastered that is coming as well.
<v Speaker 1>That's coming in twenty twenty six. They did not give
<v Speaker 1>anything beyond the year for that.
<v Speaker 2>That's weird. Just give a date to that.
<v Speaker 1>Tokyo Scramble A life for Death of Struggle begins deep
<v Speaker 1>low Tokyo, where where clear thinking, it's split second decisions
<v Speaker 1>could make all the difference. This is that one that
<v Speaker 1>was Let's see It's coming February eleventh. Pre Orders begin
<v Speaker 1>today this is like a weird dinosaur, like the Prehistoric
<v Speaker 1>Survival game.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>I kind of was having a hard time understanding it
<v Speaker 1>has four players when I wasn't expecting that to be
<v Speaker 1>part of it. They showed off Resident Evil Requiem. We've
<v Speaker 1>seen that on switch To a number of times now
<v Speaker 1>continues to look very impressive. The hair is the one
<v Speaker 1>thing that has some aliasing, but that kind of is
<v Speaker 1>to be expected.
<v Speaker 2>But beyond that, everything looked pretty good.
<v Speaker 1>Pragmata showed up for the switch To that's coming April
<v Speaker 1>twenty fourth to switch To and demo.
<v Speaker 2>Let's see.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, they have a gameplay playable demo available today on
<v Speaker 1>the e Shop so people could try it out there.
<v Speaker 1>They showed more of Orbitals.
<v Speaker 2>Jan.
<v Speaker 1>It was pretty they opened with Orbitals. We were excited
<v Speaker 1>about that one. That one's the sort of eighties seventies
<v Speaker 1>anime style two player co op adventure game, similar similar
<v Speaker 1>to a Joseph Ferris game. It's looking really awesome, Jan,
<v Speaker 1>we were all pretty impressed by this one.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I pull this trailer up because this is I
<v Speaker 3>was unfamiliar with what this was, and this looks absolutely stellar.
<v Speaker 3>I knew it was only a matter of time till
<v Speaker 3>some other people, other studios starts to go for the
<v Speaker 3>co op crown that Joseph Ferris has been wearing by himself.
<v Speaker 2>M h.
<v Speaker 1>And now I was expecting him to just own that
<v Speaker 1>space forever, because who would like want to go in
<v Speaker 1>there where it's like you are narrowing your audience to
<v Speaker 1>just people who will play with another person, and there's
<v Speaker 1>already games in that space for them. It's like, well, no,
<v Speaker 1>this game already is establishing its own voice, and I
<v Speaker 1>can see the vision now for Orbitals Final Fantasy seven
<v Speaker 1>Rebirth showed up. That was something where it's like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>you know, maybe it's a bit too soon they just
<v Speaker 1>did remake, but nope, it showed up. It looks really
<v Speaker 1>good as well. It's coming June third to switch to
<v Speaker 1>pre orders begin today. There was then there was a
<v Speaker 1>other games, Kyoto Xanadu Grand Blue Fantasy Relink Relink Endless Ragnarok,
<v Speaker 1>which is I think like a complete edition of that
<v Speaker 1>Grand Blue Fantasy character action game that people liked quite
<v Speaker 1>a bit.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know if it's character action. I think I
<v Speaker 3>believe it looked that way to me. I believe it
<v Speaker 3>is greb. There was one that came out on consoles previously.
<v Speaker 1>A sort of murder investor investigation sort of game paranormous site,
<v Speaker 1>The Mermaid's Curse. It's coming to February nineteenth, Turrok Origins
<v Speaker 1>showed up face off against ferocious dinosaurs, and they showed
<v Speaker 1>off third person gunplay, but they also showed off some
<v Speaker 1>first person gunplay. It's coming to Switch To in the fall.
<v Speaker 1>It's from Saber Interactive, the team that did Space Marine two.
<v Speaker 2>It's I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>I'm hopeful that it's going to be actually pretty good,
<v Speaker 1>but we'll see. Did you bond story Time? Stranger showed up.
<v Speaker 1>Valheim is going to come to Switch Switch to, Like
<v Speaker 1>I was looked. I had not looked at Falheim in
<v Speaker 1>a very long time. I'm jan this is that Viking
<v Speaker 1>survival game that blew up on Steam a while back
<v Speaker 1>for everyone at home Valheim. I just forgot it looked
<v Speaker 1>that way, and so I'm looking like, oh, does it
<v Speaker 1>look shitty because it's on switch. It's like no, it's
<v Speaker 1>kind of has that pixelated like low five texture vibe.
<v Speaker 2>And I just completely forgot. But yeah, still looked weird
<v Speaker 2>on Switch.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know, all right, let's see here Valheim Monster
<v Speaker 1>Hunter Stories three twisted reflection, turn based RPG series coming
<v Speaker 1>from Capcom. Captain Subasa two World Fighters. This is that
<v Speaker 1>anime soccer game. I like Captain Subasa a lot.
<v Speaker 3>Jan Yes, I played a lot of the first one
<v Speaker 3>that came out on the Switch one. It was a
<v Speaker 3>very solid football game.
<v Speaker 1>Super Bomberman Collection collects a bunch of the Super Bomberman games.
<v Speaker 1>I think all five of them, not all of them
<v Speaker 1>came to the United States. It is on Switch later today,
<v Speaker 1>as soon as soon as we get down here, and gosh,
<v Speaker 1>I could see if I get that on the Switch.
<v Speaker 1>I love Bomberman. This is the classic Bomberman. I kind
<v Speaker 1>of wish they had Saturn bomber Man. That was the
<v Speaker 1>ten player one that was very good. It didn't seem
<v Speaker 1>like that was in there, but who knows.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe one day. Hollow Night Nintend to Switch to edition
<v Speaker 2>is coming.
<v Speaker 1>That's the original Hollow Night that is launching as a
<v Speaker 1>free update today. The Adventures of Elliott The Millennium Tales.
<v Speaker 1>That is the Square Yes, it's they just it's Square Enox.
<v Speaker 1>Can you believe it? They have a name. They've named
<v Speaker 1>a game like that it's an action RPG with the
<v Speaker 1>HD two D.
<v Speaker 2>Look. It looks pretty.
<v Speaker 3>Good, it looks pretty cool. I just you know what,
<v Speaker 3>Square makes interesting choices. This is an interesting choice parentheses
<v Speaker 3>positive for a title just you.
<v Speaker 1>Know, the Adventures of Elliott. It's just like, oh, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>Elliott from my third grade class.
<v Speaker 2>That we're going to be following them around et.
<v Speaker 1>Obviously, ark Arcade Archives two and Console Arcaded excuse me,
<v Speaker 1>Arcade Archives two and Console Archives games are both getting
<v Speaker 1>more additions. Arcade Archives two will have Rave Racer, and
<v Speaker 1>then Console Archives is a new line of games from
<v Speaker 1>Hamster that would be bringing like any s games that
<v Speaker 1>aren't on the Switch otherwise or.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe you want to own them.
<v Speaker 1>That includes Ninja Guide into the Dark, Sword of Chaos
<v Speaker 1>and some other games. It's like Virtual Console is back.
<v Speaker 1>Jan This is kind of kind of exciting.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, no, I am all for Virtual Console and more
<v Speaker 3>Nintendo Switch Online stuff to come back, especially if we
<v Speaker 3>get some more GBA titles.
<v Speaker 2>Just gimme a Nintendo Yeah. And the cool thing is here.
<v Speaker 1>It's like this Arcade Archives or the Console Archives I
<v Speaker 1>should say, can have games from systems that aren't have
<v Speaker 1>not been on Virtual Console or nso like cool borders
<v Speaker 1>from PlayStation.
<v Speaker 2>So that's that's pretty interesting.
<v Speaker 1>Switches getting E Football the Konami sort of successor to
<v Speaker 1>Pro Evolution Soccer, which was the successor to Winning eleven,
<v Speaker 1>which was the successor to International Superstar Soccer E Football.
<v Speaker 1>I know people go back and forth about how they
<v Speaker 1>feel about this one. I think it was pretty considered
<v Speaker 1>pretty cheap when it first came out.
<v Speaker 2>Then I heard good things.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know where people stand on E football these days,
<v Speaker 1>but coming to switch to in the summer, Hey, Disney
<v Speaker 1>Dreamlight Valley, Nintendo switch to Edition jan is it time
<v Speaker 1>to go back?
<v Speaker 3>You know? Maybe actually maybe what we would all specifically
<v Speaker 3>do or what I would specifically do, who knows, but
<v Speaker 3>I don't know. For folks that are disappointed with the
<v Speaker 3>lack of support with Animal Crossing and Hello Kitty san Rio,
<v Speaker 3>stuff is not your bag, this is a solid one
<v Speaker 3>of those.
<v Speaker 1>PGA two or two K twenty five is coming February
<v Speaker 1>sixth WWE two K twenty six showed up here.
<v Speaker 2>That's coming March thirteenth.
<v Speaker 1>Shadow Tactics Blades of the Shogun, which is kind of
<v Speaker 1>like a turn based tactical stealth game let's see that
<v Speaker 1>is coming March eighteenth. Another Eden begins Time Traveling RPG.
<v Speaker 1>It's coming to switch to and switch one. This summer
<v Speaker 1>Goat Simulator three is coming to switch to on April first.
<v Speaker 2>You could pre order that starting today.
<v Speaker 1>Called Scept begins Nintendo Switch To edition that's coming July sixteenth.
<v Speaker 1>Called Scept was like a I think it might be
<v Speaker 1>an much older franchise than even I realized, but it
<v Speaker 1>was like a pretty interesting card battler game that came
<v Speaker 1>to Xbox Live Arcade. I want to say that's where
<v Speaker 1>I played it. I remember losing a lot of hours
<v Speaker 1>to that game. I don't remember a thing about it though.
<v Speaker 1>Nita Scott Pilgrim ex is coming, Yeah, to switch to
<v Speaker 1>and Switch one on March third. Star Trek Voyager Across
<v Speaker 1>the Unknown is coming to February eighteenth to switch to that.
<v Speaker 1>That's like the that Fallout Underground show Fallout Shelter game.
<v Speaker 1>It looks like that but in the Voyager Ship so cool.
<v Speaker 1>And then Tales of Her Rise Beyond the Dawn edition
<v Speaker 1>is coming to switch to on May twenty second. That
<v Speaker 1>is an update version of that game. And then Reanimal
<v Speaker 1>is coming February thirteenth. Well, excuse me, it sneezing. That's
<v Speaker 1>switch To February thirteenth. And that's re Animal, which is
<v Speaker 1>like kind of one of those cinematic horror platforming games.
<v Speaker 2>I think, like a.
<v Speaker 3>Limbo like I think.
<v Speaker 1>So, yes, all right, that's all the games written down here.
<v Speaker 1>It was an okay direct. There's definitely some stuff I'm
<v Speaker 1>interested in. I think I like the idea of console archives.
<v Speaker 1>I think to Rock looks fun. I want to play it,
<v Speaker 1>obviously to know if I really care. Orbitals looks really promising.
<v Speaker 1>Rebirth looked really good on switch to. That's that's going
<v Speaker 1>to be a really fine way to play that game,
<v Speaker 1>as long as it looks as good as it did
<v Speaker 1>in this trailer. Yeah, Captain Subasa too, I lack Captain Subasa.
<v Speaker 2>I'll play more of that.
<v Speaker 1>But Jane, I think it was probably wise for you
<v Speaker 1>to stand bed this morning.
<v Speaker 3>I am a little surprised we didn't see any updates
<v Speaker 3>on something like the Dusk Bloods grub this being a
<v Speaker 3>partner directed and not saying that none of these games
<v Speaker 3>are are big enough to I guess headline a partner direct,
<v Speaker 3>but I feel like Dusk Bloods is probably one of
<v Speaker 3>those that folks just want some type of update for.
<v Speaker 1>And the and the headliners were the the Bethesda games,
<v Speaker 1>which is kind of I think people are like, man,
<v Speaker 1>these are all very known quantities. The least known quantity
<v Speaker 1>is one that people played recently, Indiana Jones in the
<v Speaker 1>Great Circle, right, and then a couple of Elder Scrolls
<v Speaker 1>games that people have certainly played before. If you wanted
<v Speaker 1>to play those games by now, you would have. So
<v Speaker 1>it's like, okay, this is more about like Microsoft is,
<v Speaker 1>you know, letting more games come to the Switch too. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>that's exciting to Nintendo, less exciting, I think to everybody else.
<v Speaker 1>So just the structure of the show was a little
<v Speaker 1>bit less. It was hard to be enthusiastic about it.
<v Speaker 1>But yeah, plenty, plenty of games to be excited about.
<v Speaker 1>There are certainly questions like, like you said, Dusk Bloods,
<v Speaker 1>but even Elden Ring, that's you know, there's some question
<v Speaker 1>like this partner direct is does Dust Bloods not show
<v Speaker 1>up because Nintendo's publishing it? Well, Nintendo's published like Age
<v Speaker 1>of Imprisonment and that showed up at a partner direct before,
<v Speaker 1>as Mike pointed out and said, Okay, so there's still
<v Speaker 1>a chance that could have shown up.
<v Speaker 2>But what about Elden ring.
<v Speaker 1>That that game's supposed to come out last year and
<v Speaker 1>it's not here yet, it's delayed.
<v Speaker 2>We didn't get any sort of new information about that.
<v Speaker 1>Now that's maybe that's because they feel like it's not
<v Speaker 1>exciting enough to just be like, now here's the new
<v Speaker 1>delay or the new delayed date that we're giving you.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe that doesn't fit into a direct, but still I
<v Speaker 1>was hoping to see something about that Starfield as part
<v Speaker 1>of this pathesta thing. Starfield wasn't in there. There is
<v Speaker 1>some rumors that maybe that's going to just not come out.
<v Speaker 2>To the switch.
<v Speaker 1>At the very least, it's on hold and they just
<v Speaker 1>might not put that on switch, And I think that's
<v Speaker 1>probably fine.
<v Speaker 2>No one's really craving that one. You know.
<v Speaker 1>The real question, though, Jan is what's happening with Nintendo
<v Speaker 1>first party. Feels like that question is lingering pretty hard
<v Speaker 1>right now, and it's not one I feel like Nintendo
<v Speaker 1>can ignore for a very long time. There's, of course,
<v Speaker 1>always rumors Direct just got finished. There's already rumors of
<v Speaker 1>another first party. You know, Nintendo, there are games a
<v Speaker 1>direct coming from them. In the next couple of weeks.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know if they need that jam, but it
<v Speaker 1>certainly would help.
<v Speaker 3>Right, Yeah, I think some type of direction or north
<v Speaker 3>Star for twenty twenty six would alleviate fears that folks have,
<v Speaker 3>whether that's a new three D Mario platform or a
<v Speaker 3>new legend of Zelda. I don't think Metroid Prime four's
<v Speaker 3>reception necessarily affects whatever strategy they have moving forward, just
<v Speaker 3>based off of how they've treated Metroid in their general
<v Speaker 3>like arsenal of games.
<v Speaker 1>Right yep, and I will have an update about Metroid
<v Speaker 1>Prime four specifically here in a little bit. All right,
<v Speaker 1>let's see jan two stories down. Let's take a break,
<v Speaker 1>get to the rest of the headlines after this. If
<v Speaker 1>people want to skip out on these ad messages, you
<v Speaker 1>can do that. You just go to GiantBomb dot COM's
<v Speaker 1>let's join there. We put up AD free versions of
<v Speaker 1>the audio show, ad free versions of the video show.
<v Speaker 1>Grab those listen there. In the meantime, though, we will
<v Speaker 1>be right back. All right, We're back with Game mess Mornings.
<v Speaker 1>Jeff Grubb, Janet Choa. Let's keep going here. I have
<v Speaker 1>the next story as Epic wants to bring its store
<v Speaker 1>to the next gen Xbox and begins the show serious growth.
<v Speaker 1>It says, we've been talking to the folks at Microsoft.
<v Speaker 1>This is from Jaz Corting at Windows Central. The Epic
<v Speaker 1>Store is doing better than you might expect. Some analysis
<v Speaker 1>recently ran with the idea that users aren't actively buying
<v Speaker 1>titles from the Epic Game Store, and that instead Epic
<v Speaker 1>is training users to show up entirely for its free
<v Speaker 1>games only. Epic has also been the subject of debate
<v Speaker 1>over some of its publishing rules, with discussions raging over
<v Speaker 1>whether it's actually.
<v Speaker 2>Viable as a gaming store.
<v Speaker 1>All up, the data definitely says yes that it is,
<v Speaker 1>as Epic shares it annual revenue reporting for twenty twenty five.
<v Speaker 1>To that end, they caught up with Epic and found
<v Speaker 1>out that the store's doing pretty well. It's at four
<v Speaker 1>hundred million dollars for third party game sales last year,
<v Speaker 1>which is up fifty seven percent. So despite the fact,
<v Speaker 1>and this is a quote from that Epic Game Store
<v Speaker 1>VP and general manager Steve Allison, he says, yeah, despite
<v Speaker 1>the fact that the industry overall is in a bit
<v Speaker 1>of a tough spot. Epic noted that its growth figures
<v Speaker 1>do not include a first party payment solutions.
<v Speaker 2>Blah blah blah.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, yeah, so they said they're up regardless of where
<v Speaker 1>everything else is at. They also pointed out, like when
<v Speaker 1>they have those free games that they have on the store, one,
<v Speaker 1>they have kind of built up a process of doing
<v Speaker 1>that to the point where it's like they are very
<v Speaker 1>attached and they're going to keep doing that. So if
<v Speaker 1>that's something you've liked from Epic Game Store, like showing
<v Speaker 1>up and getting free games, they're like, this, this is
<v Speaker 1>part of our DNA. Now we're going to keep doing that.
<v Speaker 1>So if that's been one way you've been building up
<v Speaker 1>your library of games so on PC, sounds like you
<v Speaker 1>can continue to expect that to happen. And they said, like,
<v Speaker 1>when they do that, apparently there's a bump in sales
<v Speaker 1>for those games on Steam and other platform And they're like,
<v Speaker 1>so everyone involved feels like they're getting a win win
<v Speaker 1>scenario here, and certainly the person getting the free.
<v Speaker 2>Game feels that way. Well, we know that's the case.
<v Speaker 1>And then as far as like, okay, so then what
<v Speaker 1>about the future of the store, It sounds like they're
<v Speaker 1>going to kind of continue as status quo. They admit
<v Speaker 1>the store is not very good otherwise people don't like
<v Speaker 1>using it, and they're going to try to improve that.
<v Speaker 1>And then they also said one of the reasons to
<v Speaker 1>do that is that Microsoft might be building a PC
<v Speaker 1>based Xbox for their next generation console, and they want
<v Speaker 1>to make sure the Epic Game Store runs on that
<v Speaker 1>thing and it's a good experience so people will buy
<v Speaker 1>their games on there. Now, it doesn't sound like they're
<v Speaker 1>confirming that, but it definitely sounds like they're suggesting that
<v Speaker 1>as a real, real possibility for what's going to happen.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know, jan When I turn on my console,
<v Speaker 1>I'm usually gonna go to the Path of least resistance,
<v Speaker 1>But I gotta say, if there's another store, I just
<v Speaker 1>got to log into right over there, and I get
<v Speaker 1>a bunch of free games, like like one free game
<v Speaker 1>a week, or I have my free game library from
<v Speaker 1>like collecting them for months already, and then I show
<v Speaker 1>up on my Xbox and they're just there.
<v Speaker 2>That could be pretty nice.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I Mean, one of the hardest things to teach
<v Speaker 3>gamers or lower gamers into doing is something that is
<v Speaker 3>outside of their normal routine, right grub. But if you
<v Speaker 3>have the carrot on the stick of hey, this is
<v Speaker 3>a free game, it's new, this is something you haven't played,
<v Speaker 3>and you see that that was or is a thing
<v Speaker 3>on PC gaming, but now you got that on consoles.
<v Speaker 3>I feel like that would lead to, uh, that is
<v Speaker 3>just positive reinforcement for gamers. And I mean I think
<v Speaker 3>we saw the same thing very very long time ago
<v Speaker 3>with the adoption of like internet music stores, where iTunes
<v Speaker 3>would have like, hey, here's a free song on Fridays,
<v Speaker 3>or you visit this store, you have a free song,
<v Speaker 3>and that had people adopting iTunes faster. So I could
<v Speaker 3>see a similar thing for trying to force console gamers
<v Speaker 3>to adopt and open up another store interface within their Xbox.
<v Speaker 2>Yep. I think it's.
<v Speaker 1>The future that makes sense for Xbox that that's gonna
<v Speaker 1>And I think as someone who's like looking around, like
<v Speaker 1>what can I what can they do to kind of
<v Speaker 1>keep me interested in playing games on a device like that, Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>probably is time to just admit that these things are
<v Speaker 1>better as PCs.
<v Speaker 2>The PC is.
<v Speaker 1>The future of PC gaming is not in question. People
<v Speaker 1>will continue making games for that platform. It's an open platform,
<v Speaker 1>it's not we don't have to rely on the whims
<v Speaker 1>of a corporation or them feeling like they're getting their
<v Speaker 1>value out of it. It just kind of it is
<v Speaker 1>going to keep happening, and it's like there's some strength
<v Speaker 1>in that, there's power in that, and that's something that
<v Speaker 1>I think if you're trying to sell video games, you
<v Speaker 1>want to ensure that that feels healthy and can continue
<v Speaker 1>to attract people. And that's going to be important to Epic,
<v Speaker 1>It's going to be very important to Microsoft, who now
<v Speaker 1>has a lot of big video games. They want to
<v Speaker 1>shure they ensure that they have a lot of strong
<v Speaker 1>ecosystems to sell those games into, and they're partially responsible
<v Speaker 1>for at least one of them, even though again Windows, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>they're selling games on there, but it's an open system,
<v Speaker 1>so they're only partially responsible.
<v Speaker 2>All right.
<v Speaker 1>Overwatch two is just Overwatch again and five new heroes
<v Speaker 1>are arriving next week. Let's read what he Casman make
<v Speaker 1>at Game Informer has to say.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, Rocket Cat is here.
<v Speaker 1>Ahead of today's Overwatch Spotlight twenty twenty six event, I
<v Speaker 1>flew to Blizzard's headquarters to go hands on with all
<v Speaker 1>of the updates and additional content coming in the first
<v Speaker 1>season of Rain of Talent, a year long story arc
<v Speaker 1>that kicks off on February tenth. Overwatch two, which Blizzard
<v Speaker 1>is officially renaming to Overwatch alongside the other update, finally
<v Speaker 1>feels fresh again thanks to five new heroes launching alongside
<v Speaker 1>season one. Additionally, the first person shooters new sub roles
<v Speaker 1>helped to further distinguish its tank damage and support heroes
<v Speaker 1>with new passive buffs that better align with their specific
<v Speaker 1>play style and class identity. The team is getting better
<v Speaker 1>and faster at creating heroes, multiple delvers told me. They
<v Speaker 1>also said, jan they found the secret. They're they're emphasizing
<v Speaker 1>making the characters hotter, like that is that is a
<v Speaker 1>written down strategy somewhere inside of Blizzard is characters equals
<v Speaker 1>sign Hotter equals sign money.
<v Speaker 2>So I knew that.
<v Speaker 3>I saw that on a whiteboard somewhere, you know.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, Yeah, that's just I write that on every whiteboard
<v Speaker 2>I see. So that's just what happened there.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, Okay, the heroes, you know, I got them over here.
<v Speaker 1>Let me just kind didn't write them down in the
<v Speaker 1>dock here, but there's let's see here new sub roles. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>now let's go to the character's Jetpack Cat is a
<v Speaker 1>new support character that's been apparently a long time coming,
<v Speaker 1>something they like teased, maybe as a joke in the
<v Speaker 1>early days, and everyone's like, no, we want that, and
<v Speaker 1>now they get it.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, a jetpack Cat, from my understanding of Overwatch lore,
<v Speaker 3>has been something heavily teased, I think since the beginning
<v Speaker 3>of the game. So this final finally launching is probably
<v Speaker 3>gonna draw back some Overwatch sickos grub.
<v Speaker 1>There's Mazuki, who's another support character who I apologize, I'm
<v Speaker 1>from Ohio. I'm just gonna have to say what this
<v Speaker 1>looks like. To me, it looks like she's wearing a
<v Speaker 1>raiding hat from Mortal Kombat. I'm sure there's a much
<v Speaker 1>more culturally sensitive way of explaining what that hat looks like,
<v Speaker 1>but that's my pop culture Touchstowe.
<v Speaker 2>Let's see here, there is an Ran who's a damaged dealer.
<v Speaker 1>This is one of the characters to people pointing to
<v Speaker 1>as like, oh, they're just making hot characters. Now, they're
<v Speaker 1>making attractive characters that will get the player based excited,
<v Speaker 1>which you know Overwatch has always played to that, but
<v Speaker 1>they've kind of done it in a koy way where
<v Speaker 1>like you know our character's big gorilla guy.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, turns out Winston it's pretty hot too.
<v Speaker 3>I you know something that I'm curious because with Marvel Rivals,
<v Speaker 3>you're limited to all of the Marvel characters, the oove
<v Speaker 3>of that Marvel has. But with Overwatch, not only can
<v Speaker 3>you lee lean on hot, hotly designed characters, attractive characters.
<v Speaker 3>But I'm kind of surprised they haven't released the furry grub.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah right, let's see. Winston's pretty close. But yeah, there
<v Speaker 1>should just be like a straight up wolf with a tail. Yep,
<v Speaker 1>maybe nine tails.
<v Speaker 2>Who knows?
<v Speaker 1>Other two characters Amri, Yeah, Emri, Amri. He's a damage dealer.
<v Speaker 1>He smolders. He's got a smoldering look to him. See
<v Speaker 1>he's kind of looking at the camera from an angle
<v Speaker 1>where he's like, I'm not really looking, but I am.
<v Speaker 1>And then yeah, it's kind of smoldering. And then Domina,
<v Speaker 1>who is a tank. Uh yeah, it looks like she
<v Speaker 1>is related to the other what's that rocket character?
<v Speaker 2>Harold? Yeah, she looks like she might be related to Pharaoh.
<v Speaker 2>Hard to say that. Yeah, Okay, I think I'm excited
<v Speaker 2>to play Overwatch again.
<v Speaker 3>Jan Yeah, No, I've I've been having the hankering our
<v Speaker 3>dear friend are our former sweet little art boy, just
<v Speaker 3>to have shown caught up with him, and he's told
<v Speaker 3>me he has not stopped playing Overwatch, and he is
<v Speaker 3>a daily player. So this has got to be a
<v Speaker 3>nice boon to folks that have not abandoned Overwatch and
<v Speaker 3>to suddenly have a flood of renewed interest in the game.
<v Speaker 3>I'm excited to possibly dip back in and check it
<v Speaker 3>out with all these new characters and also grow for
<v Speaker 3>people like you me Manati that have maybe played Overwatch
<v Speaker 3>in the past. It's not just these five new heroes.
<v Speaker 3>There's an obscene amount of heroes that I probably have
<v Speaker 3>never heard of that I'd be surprised to find.
<v Speaker 2>In the game.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, like, if I went back now, there would probably
<v Speaker 1>probably be double digit heroes that I did not I
<v Speaker 1>never touched, never even played. So yeah, you know, and
<v Speaker 1>that's both exciting and intimidating. I kind of want to,
<v Speaker 1>like five new characters, sounds like I can manage that,
<v Speaker 1>But you know, at this point it's like, oh whatever,
<v Speaker 1>I'm excited. I want to see what this game looks
<v Speaker 1>in plays like now. I spend a lot of time
<v Speaker 1>playing Overwatch, when it came out and in the following
<v Speaker 1>couple of years, it's probably time to go check in
<v Speaker 1>on this thing that they seem to have gotten back
<v Speaker 1>on sugarfooting. Even before all this, people were talking about
<v Speaker 1>Overwatch two is back, It's back, and now this is happening.
<v Speaker 1>It's like, oh, they are emphasizing and sort of capitalizing
<v Speaker 1>on this moment where the game is doing pretty well.
<v Speaker 1>Voice actor page leaks Zeno Blade game for twenty twenty six.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe let's take a look here. This is from Nintendo Everything. Basically,
<v Speaker 1>there is a website called Spotlight where people who make
<v Speaker 1>stuff can like collect their credits all in one place
<v Speaker 1>so they can show people, here is my list of
<v Speaker 1>you know, my bibliography or whatever.
<v Speaker 2>Here's all the things I worked on.
<v Speaker 1>And aitln Thorburn, who is a voice actor who previously
<v Speaker 1>worked on Zeno Blake Chronicles two, has on her Spotlight
<v Speaker 1>page Zeno Blake Chronicles listed as the name of the
<v Speaker 1>project and the date twenty twenty six, and people are
<v Speaker 1>taking that to mean that there's going to be a
<v Speaker 1>new Zeno Blake game that she has made of voice
<v Speaker 1>lines for that we should expect in twenty twenty six.
<v Speaker 1>I you know, do you think that's what's happening here?
<v Speaker 1>Jan It's always possible this was just a user air
<v Speaker 1>on a website, right.
<v Speaker 3>That's one hundred percent possible grub just because you know,
<v Speaker 3>we see voice actors, actors that may not be as
<v Speaker 3>plugged into video game stuff, not necessarily accidentally leaking things,
<v Speaker 3>but just incorrectly or accidentally putting up credits that don't
<v Speaker 3>necessarily translate to a brand new game. Perhaps they're just
<v Speaker 3>backfilling previous roles. That being said, I'd like a news
<v Speaker 3>you know Zeno or Zeno Blade, I should.
<v Speaker 1>Say, we know Monolith is working on something new. They
<v Speaker 1>talked about in the sort of wake of what is
<v Speaker 1>Zeno Blake Chronicles X. That was the last thing that
<v Speaker 1>they kind of got updated on Switch one. In the
<v Speaker 1>wake of that, there was conversation around them saying, hey,
<v Speaker 1>we are going to kind of take a step back
<v Speaker 1>and reinvest in our tech. And that's the tech that
<v Speaker 1>powered their games. It's also the tech that powered Breadth
<v Speaker 1>of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. So it's
<v Speaker 1>very valuable to Nintendo and to Monolith, and so they're
<v Speaker 1>plugging away at that thing. So my expectation would be like,
<v Speaker 1>maybe they have some other stuff happening with Nintendo switch
<v Speaker 1>to editions, and maybe there's some new content that would
<v Speaker 1>involve Caitlin Thorburn.
<v Speaker 2>That's possible.
<v Speaker 1>A brand new Zeno Blade game at this time seems like, man,
<v Speaker 1>that would be really fast, But this is a studio
<v Speaker 1>that works fast, so it's not.
<v Speaker 2>I guess it's not entirely impossible. Oh.
<v Speaker 3>I also I forget when this had happened. It was
<v Speaker 3>fairly recently, within the last like two ishu years. But
<v Speaker 3>realizing that the character in Zeno Blade is Cosmos and
<v Speaker 3>not Cosmos, yeah, because of space.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean I think I read it as Cosmos
<v Speaker 1>for a very long time.
<v Speaker 2>Jane.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, Okay, the story about Metro Prime four not selling
<v Speaker 1>more than a million, we got a little bit of
<v Speaker 1>an update there. Metrod Prime four did sell more than
<v Speaker 1>a million copies in a month. This is from Steven
<v Speaker 1>Totilo on Twitter. He wrote, following some consternation about neither
<v Speaker 1>neither the switch nor switch to versions of Metrod Prime
<v Speaker 1>four making the Nintendo's million seller lists for the period
<v Speaker 1>and in December thirty first, remember that game came out
<v Speaker 1>December fourth, So okay, yeah, maybe it was just going slow,
<v Speaker 1>didn't quite get there.
<v Speaker 2>Well, that was for each individual skew as we.
<v Speaker 1>Talked about on the show yesterday, where it's like the
<v Speaker 1>switch version and the switch To versions separately did not
<v Speaker 1>sell more than a million, so did not show up
<v Speaker 1>on Nintendo's financial report where they talk about games from
<v Speaker 1>the last quarter that sold more than a million copies.
<v Speaker 1>Apparently Steven reached out said if you combined both both SKUs,
<v Speaker 1>it did sell more than a million copies. That's yeah,
<v Speaker 1>that's not bad for less than a month, jan you know,
<v Speaker 1>it's still probably not in line with like what a
<v Speaker 1>game that you know, like Animal Crossing comes out, gets
<v Speaker 1>the switch bump, gets the COVID bump, and it's like
<v Speaker 1>it's selling way better than any Animal Crossing game before it.
<v Speaker 2>Right of the Wild got the switch bump, where it's
<v Speaker 2>like that that's.
<v Speaker 1>Sold way, way, way, way better than any Zelda game
<v Speaker 1>ever before it.
<v Speaker 2>This game doesn't seem like it's going to.
<v Speaker 1>Be selling way, way, way better than any Metroid game
<v Speaker 1>before it. But a million copies in less than a
<v Speaker 1>month is still something that they could probably work with
<v Speaker 1>and should have been in their expectations for what Metroid
<v Speaker 1>can do based on the series's history, right.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I'm curious to what this number is ultimately going
<v Speaker 3>to wind up meaning to Nintendo, whether this like affects
<v Speaker 3>how they treat Metroid moving forward. I know that we
<v Speaker 3>have the story I think earlier this week the rumblings
<v Speaker 3>of a Metroid Prime or a Metroid movie.
<v Speaker 2>So sorry, I.
<v Speaker 3>Hope this is an overall positive for Metroid within the
<v Speaker 3>Nintendo camp because I would hate for them to see
<v Speaker 3>Metroid Prime Flour's mixed fairly mixed reviews and sales and
<v Speaker 3>kind of like you know, quietly sunset Samus into the horizon.
<v Speaker 3>Especially with how Metroid Prime Flour ends, I would want
<v Speaker 3>more stories of samos or and perhaps a better game
<v Speaker 3>that would help in the future, that.
<v Speaker 2>Would that would go a long way toward helping this franchise.
<v Speaker 2>For sure.
<v Speaker 1>I got worried where I was like, oh man who
<v Speaker 1>directed that Metroid Prime commercial way back in the day,
<v Speaker 1>was like a famous director. I'm like, what's Darren Aronofsky
<v Speaker 1>guy that now does AI bullshit? And It's like, no,
<v Speaker 1>it was Alex Proyas and I have always mixed those
<v Speaker 1>two up in my head. But Alex proye a little,
<v Speaker 1>but he did Dark City and stuff like that. All right,
<v Speaker 1>let's see here the PS five version of Starfield could
<v Speaker 1>be announced soon, as insider shares potential release date. This
<v Speaker 1>is Chris calling at VGC the off reported PlayStation five
<v Speaker 1>port of Starfield could be announced soon. It's claimed basically people,
<v Speaker 1>I think it's coming in April. That's the story here.
<v Speaker 1>It's coming to PlayStation five on April seventh, in both
<v Speaker 1>standard and premium editions. They've been working to update this game.
<v Speaker 1>I guess there's a possibility this happens right jan Am.
<v Speaker 1>It's noticeably improved and it's a much better game, and
<v Speaker 1>people will care. I guess that's a question, will people
<v Speaker 1>care even if it's much improved.
<v Speaker 3>I think Starfield is going to is such an interesting
<v Speaker 3>example of a game to port over because initial reception
<v Speaker 3>again fairly mixed, But there are those siccos out there
<v Speaker 3>that not only like space, but they like that style
<v Speaker 3>of game. And if they're not getting that in terms
<v Speaker 3>of like a new Fallout game, a new Elder Scrolls game,
<v Speaker 3>this could scratch that itch. And also I feel like
<v Speaker 3>they have implemented enough changes to Starfield where it's not
<v Speaker 3>a complete opposite game of how it initially launched, but
<v Speaker 3>a much better experience. So perhaps more people want to
<v Speaker 3>see the stars grub.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I you know, it will get a fresh start
<v Speaker 1>on PlayStation. There will be some people who will just
<v Speaker 1>show up for it, and it's their chance to be
<v Speaker 1>like it's Bethesta's chance to be like Okay. These people
<v Speaker 1>could then have a new set of words of mouth
<v Speaker 1>coming out of this game where yeah, now it's like,
<v Speaker 1>oh I just played it and I really liked it.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe they improve improved it a bunch and then everyone
<v Speaker 1>returns to it.
<v Speaker 2>Eh.
<v Speaker 1>Far fetched, but the game's fate could end up much
<v Speaker 1>better than it seemed like it was like it was
<v Speaker 1>going to coming out of that initial launch where people were,
<v Speaker 1>you know, I liked the game, but it's I did
<v Speaker 1>not like the game the way I was supposed to
<v Speaker 1>like the game, which is something I'm going to play
<v Speaker 1>for you know, off and on for years at a time.
<v Speaker 1>I'm constantly installing mods. Now that said, I did install
<v Speaker 1>a bunch of mods. I'm still doing that Star Wars
<v Speaker 1>Genesis thing in there. That's such a total conversion.
<v Speaker 2>It is basically a completely different video game at this point.
<v Speaker 2>It's crazy.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, if that is I feel like if that was
<v Speaker 3>something available to console players, they would eat it up.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, And it's just not there's too much copyrighted stuff
<v Speaker 1>in there for them to put those mods in there
<v Speaker 1>for as much mod support is but as it does
<v Speaker 1>on console, which is surprising and awesome. Ye that stuff
<v Speaker 1>no way, all right, let's see here. Sony reports strong
<v Speaker 1>performance of first party games as console sales drop. This
<v Speaker 1>is from Haley Williams at Game Spots. Sony is the
<v Speaker 1>latest company to release its earnings for Q three twenty
<v Speaker 1>twenty five, and unlike other players in the industry, the
<v Speaker 1>PlayStation manufacturer has come out surprisingly well. Where other companies
<v Speaker 1>are feeling the pressure from components shortages and dropping hardware sales.
<v Speaker 1>Sony's games segment results were lifted by strong first party
<v Speaker 1>game sales and subscription revenue. Sony is an immune to
<v Speaker 1>the problems the rest of the industry have faced this
<v Speaker 1>in the last year, as they have reported a four
<v Speaker 1>percent decrease in the sales of their consoles, largely impacted
<v Speaker 1>by lower than.
<v Speaker 2>Expected Oh no, that's four percent decrease.
<v Speaker 1>Overall, excuse me, in sales That is due to the
<v Speaker 1>lower than expected console sales through the holiday season, although
<v Speaker 1>they did sell eight million PlayStation fives.
<v Speaker 2>During there, which is more than the Switch too.
<v Speaker 1>It's sold better than the Switch to through throughout the
<v Speaker 1>holiday period of PlayStation five is now at ninety two
<v Speaker 1>point one million lifetime.
<v Speaker 2>That's very, very good.
<v Speaker 1>They can obvious like they could stop there, and that's
<v Speaker 1>enough of an install base to be able to sell
<v Speaker 1>games and have mega hits going forward, and they're not
<v Speaker 1>going to stop there, and it's going to continue to sell.
<v Speaker 1>They said specifically that Ghost of Yota did better than
<v Speaker 1>they were expecting. It's doing better than Ghost of Sushima,
<v Speaker 1>and it's it's like the one of the primary first
<v Speaker 1>party games that sort of floated them through that quarter
<v Speaker 1>and ensure that they are in such a rosy state.
<v Speaker 1>Another one held Divers two, continues to deliver for them.
<v Speaker 3>So yeah, what do you think, Take that online, chuds,
<v Speaker 3>you stupid idiots. Of course ghost know anything. Of course
<v Speaker 3>ghosts of Yota would sell. Tsushima is a fantastic foundation
<v Speaker 3>to build on. Take that, idiots. But it's, you know,
<v Speaker 3>good to see that first party games are performing well.
<v Speaker 3>And you know, it's funny that we see all we've
<v Speaker 3>been seeing the patterns of these Triple A Studios, big
<v Speaker 3>publishers trying to chase these gigantic multiplayer experiences. But when
<v Speaker 3>you have a single player game that doesn't have the
<v Speaker 3>multiplayer component added to it yet, like Ghost of Yota,
<v Speaker 3>it is selling like gangbusters.
<v Speaker 2>Yep.
<v Speaker 3>It's good to see.
<v Speaker 2>It's healthy to see.
<v Speaker 3>I hope this encourages I mean, I guess this isn't
<v Speaker 3>going to encourage Nintendo to do anything different, but perhaps
<v Speaker 3>Microsoft to chase different leads perhaps or influence other big
<v Speaker 3>publishers still like, hey, people still want single player games.
<v Speaker 3>It is still a thriving, booming section of the industry.
<v Speaker 3>Not everything has to be a multiplayer game or a
<v Speaker 3>live service game.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>And it's just like you know, Sony's overall strategy of
<v Speaker 1>let's support the PlayStation, let's put our games on other
<v Speaker 1>platforms eventually mostly PC, although Hell Divers two came to
<v Speaker 1>Xbox in that quarter. That was one of the reasons
<v Speaker 1>they sold so much during the quarter. And say, okay, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>this uh, this widening strategy of we're going to support
<v Speaker 1>more devices that's necessary, but continue to make the PlayStation
<v Speaker 1>five feel special, and ghosti Ota certainly delivering on that that. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>it seems like the way PlayStation PlayStation is doing things
<v Speaker 1>is just kind of working. And I know that they
<v Speaker 1>are concerned about the future. They're concerned about how they
<v Speaker 1>how are they going to launch that PlayStation six, how
<v Speaker 1>do they ensure that they can keep people excited about
<v Speaker 1>their games. It's getting more challenging without spending tons and
<v Speaker 1>tons and tons of more money. But gost Ota, like
<v Speaker 1>the story there is, they didn't spend a ton of
<v Speaker 1>extra money on there. The budget was very similar to
<v Speaker 1>the first game, and it's like, Okay, maybe that's the
<v Speaker 1>beginning of something, but it's probably pretty difficult to take
<v Speaker 1>that and extrapolate it to all your other studios.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, but grew up for me. It just it makes
<v Speaker 3>sense that Ghosts of Yota would not be as expensive
<v Speaker 3>of a game because they are from my understanding, they
<v Speaker 3>already have all of the tools that they built on
<v Speaker 3>from Sushima that they can apply that to Yota, where
<v Speaker 3>they're not building something from the ground up, Which just
<v Speaker 3>makes me wonder like, why don't we get more stuff
<v Speaker 3>like I don't know, like another Spider Man game, even
<v Speaker 3>if it isn't a full fledged campaign, a full fledged game,
<v Speaker 3>something smaller like the Miles Morales game that they launched
<v Speaker 3>in between the PS four and PS five.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I'm right.
<v Speaker 1>I'm in the mood for something that's a quick hit,
<v Speaker 1>and yeah, it doesn't need to be the full ninety experience.
<v Speaker 2>Whatever games are going to.
<v Speaker 1>Cost in the next few years, something comes out as
<v Speaker 1>at sixty dollars still and is the equivalent or even
<v Speaker 1>a little bit less than Miles Morales.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that would be awesome. I would take that. There
<v Speaker 2>was real quick.
<v Speaker 1>I didn't include this in the rundown, but they Sony
<v Speaker 1>did announce that Horizon Gathering. What is it, ye, Horizon
<v Speaker 1>Hunter's Gathering. It is a solo or cooperative action focused
<v Speaker 1>hunting game with a vibrant art style and no release date.
<v Speaker 1>This is a spin off of the Horizon series from
<v Speaker 1>Gorilla Games, and it's a tactical co op action game
<v Speaker 1>for up to three players. But you can play support
<v Speaker 1>or you can play solo where NPC bots will support you.
<v Speaker 1>It's coming to PS five and PC when it does launch. Okay, Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>that's I don't know. I don't know what to say
<v Speaker 1>about this. Jan I don't care about the Horizon games
<v Speaker 1>all that much anyhow, So the spinoffs are probably not
<v Speaker 1>gonna get me, although who knows, maybe this will be
<v Speaker 1>my favorite game ever.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I'm playing the trailer bank you folks at home
<v Speaker 3>when someone tells me there's a new Horizon game coming out.
<v Speaker 3>This isn't what I anticipated it looking like, because this
<v Speaker 3>is definitely more cartoony and vibrant, which is kind of
<v Speaker 3>works in the opposite way of how I think of
<v Speaker 3>Horizon to look like, because this looks like a Saturday
<v Speaker 3>Morning cartoon but basically looks good.
<v Speaker 2>Actually, it looks good.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, but based off of the world that like of
<v Speaker 3>a loy and everything and even the VR game that
<v Speaker 3>they released for piz Ver two, this feels like the
<v Speaker 3>opposite of that. But this could be fun.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I'm right.
<v Speaker 1>I have no idea what to expect from the gameplay.
<v Speaker 1>It looks kind of like a lightweight monster Huntery sort
<v Speaker 1>of thing, but I don't know. I'll say that visually though,
<v Speaker 1>it's working for me. It is kind of fortnitey, but
<v Speaker 1>in a positive way where oh, it's very very expressive.
<v Speaker 3>This looks like that monster Hunter like game that you
<v Speaker 3>and I played on a upf once. Yeah, well, Wild Hearts,
<v Speaker 3>Wild Hearts. This looks like one of those. Yeah, it
<v Speaker 3>does and is in a bad thing, not a bad
<v Speaker 3>thing at all.
<v Speaker 1>That there's a reason that the you know, Monster Hunter
<v Speaker 1>is so huge and has so many imitators at this point,
<v Speaker 1>and Horizon could definitely do that, and I'm glad they're
<v Speaker 1>not just doing that and then keeping the standard Horizon look.
<v Speaker 1>Although I'm sure some people would be like, man, I
<v Speaker 1>wish it just looked like one of the best looking
<v Speaker 1>games ever made. I know a lot of people feel
<v Speaker 1>that way, but you know, this looks more distinct to me.
<v Speaker 3>This is also going to be out on Steam as well,
<v Speaker 3>so it's going to.
<v Speaker 1>Hit piece PC and PS five everybody when it does
<v Speaker 1>get its really state, which again does not have all.
<v Speaker 2>Right, let's see here.
<v Speaker 1>RGG doubles down on casting Terry Yuki Kagawa. Okay, let's
<v Speaker 1>see here. This is an interview. This just got added,
<v Speaker 1>so I'm catching up on this as I'm looking.
<v Speaker 3>I added this grab. A lot of folks were rumbling about.
<v Speaker 1>It, okay, So rausk Horry director double down on casting Kagawa.
<v Speaker 1>Hori says raki A and Hamazaki are both key characters
<v Speaker 1>to the story, so it would certainly be safer not
<v Speaker 1>to recast them and avoid online criticism laughs. But we
<v Speaker 1>felt there was no use being afraid. We based our
<v Speaker 1>decision on what excited us and made us think, this
<v Speaker 1>is who we want to perform, or what if we
<v Speaker 1>cast this person. Hamazaki is a sleazy, persistent, and militant yakuza, right,
<v Speaker 1>since he isn't an explosive character like Kanda. When we
<v Speaker 1>tried to think of someone who makes you go, this
<v Speaker 1>guy's a creep, naturally it was Kagawa's son. The biggest
<v Speaker 1>thing was just was just had to The biggest thing
<v Speaker 1>was just had to see that Kagawa Son's acting is
<v Speaker 1>fun to watch, even when he's chopping a pig's feet
<v Speaker 1>off with a chef's knife.
<v Speaker 2>It's a slimy feel.
<v Speaker 1>So it's like the defense here is we wanted a
<v Speaker 1>slimy person to play the slimy character.
<v Speaker 2>So that's okay, now, you know I.
<v Speaker 1>Would I I don't like, like, don't do this, don't
<v Speaker 1>recast it.
<v Speaker 2>That's bad, but it is to me.
<v Speaker 1>It continues to be the double standard of the one
<v Speaker 1>guy in judgment got caught with with cocaine right or something,
<v Speaker 1>and we're like, we have to delete him from existence.
<v Speaker 1>I don't what are we doing here?
<v Speaker 3>Also, I don't know if Rioski hory here understands the
<v Speaker 3>the craft of acting but turns out play a scumbag.
<v Speaker 3>You don't actually have to be a scumbag because it acting.
<v Speaker 3>I don't mean to pull the wool over anyone's eyes
<v Speaker 3>or reveal too much here. Uh, it's kind of pretend.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, And you know then the crimes are the slimy
<v Speaker 1>stuff he's talking about here is not even like this
<v Speaker 1>this guy was accused of sexual harassment and its unwanted
<v Speaker 1>sexual advances, Like that's just that's just I feel slimy, sure,
<v Speaker 1>but not in like a slimy like, Oh, this guy's
<v Speaker 1>a fun, oddball kind of way.
<v Speaker 3>It's it's it's also like like you just grub it
<v Speaker 3>downplays all of those that are affected by Kagawa's harassment
<v Speaker 3>and everything, Like you're you're kind of also just saying
<v Speaker 3>what you feel like as as the director yourself, how
<v Speaker 3>you feel about his actions, and that you're kind of
<v Speaker 3>permitting them and continuing to give this person a job.
<v Speaker 3>And I don't think you are in short supply of
<v Speaker 3>any voice talent that would want to work on the
<v Speaker 3>Yakusa franchise, and like you said, they erase that dude
<v Speaker 3>in judgment from existence. But this is isn't too far
<v Speaker 3>for them, Like sexually harassing people is okay and permitted
<v Speaker 3>for you, but just.
<v Speaker 1>Holding on to the same energy, but the fact that
<v Speaker 1>it's the opposite energy is flipped to me. I understand
<v Speaker 1>there's a lot of cultural differences, and I know that
<v Speaker 1>the ingrained cultural attitude towards drugs in Japan it's very strict,
<v Speaker 1>get over it, like the one of these things is worse,
<v Speaker 1>and it's not the drug, It's simply not.
<v Speaker 3>And also, Yakuza has become such a worldwide franchise at
<v Speaker 3>this point that, like you would hope that you are
<v Speaker 3>not old that now you're kind of beholden to worldwide
<v Speaker 3>standards right where. I know that drug charges are much
<v Speaker 3>harshly persecuted in some Asian countries in comparison to sexual misconduct,
<v Speaker 3>but sexual harassment is still fucking terrible across the board.
<v Speaker 3>Treat them both the same.
<v Speaker 1>Don't don't grab people who don't want you grabbing them.
<v Speaker 1>That's that's just yeah, and then don't go work with
<v Speaker 1>those people. All right, That does it for the headlines.
<v Speaker 1>Let's go ahead and get to the poll question from yesterday.
<v Speaker 1>As we get the results refreshed over here and Jen
<v Speaker 1>gets it up on the screen, I'm gonna say, hey, everybody,
<v Speaker 1>tomorrow's the Bomb twelve. Go to giant bomb dot com.
<v Speaker 1>There is the Bomb twelve from last week on there,
<v Speaker 1>and then there's a link off to the left.
<v Speaker 2>Add your game.
<v Speaker 1>Let's get a let's get a bunch of results there
<v Speaker 1>so we could see how things are going here as
<v Speaker 1>we're getting into February.
<v Speaker 2>Now getting deeper into February.
<v Speaker 1>Now I should say for the first Bomb twelve of
<v Speaker 1>this month tomorrow to end out the week. All right,
<v Speaker 1>let's see here from yesterday, did you ever get Metroid
<v Speaker 1>Prime before Beyond? And we talked about this because the
<v Speaker 1>sales looked go maybe a bit iffy. Thirty five percent
<v Speaker 1>said yes, thirty four percent said no, I never wanted it,
<v Speaker 1>nineteen percent said no because of the reviews, and thirteen
<v Speaker 1>percent said no, but I will get it soon. So
<v Speaker 1>there's like, let's see twenty there's about thirty two percent
<v Speaker 1>of people who are on the fence and were pushed
<v Speaker 1>to one side because of the reviews or we're just
<v Speaker 1>kind of waiting until they could justify spending the money
<v Speaker 1>on it, and the bulk of those people were like no,
<v Speaker 1>the reviews pushed me away, and then the thirty five
<v Speaker 1>percent of our audience and I already got it. It's
<v Speaker 1>kind of like, Ooh, this game's already reached a lot
<v Speaker 1>of the people it's probably going to be able to
<v Speaker 1>reach just based on being a Metroid game. The game
<v Speaker 1>just needed to be better to reach that next audience.
<v Speaker 3>Right, Yeah, I Metroid is such an interesting figure in
<v Speaker 3>Nintendo's repertoire that I'm just curious as to, like, how
<v Speaker 3>does the overall general gaming audience treat it that is
<v Speaker 3>not like plugged into the scene as our audience may be.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and I just generally wouldn't recommend it to most people.
<v Speaker 2>But I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>I guess if you want a fun sci fi sort
<v Speaker 1>of atmosphere on the switch to and you don't have
<v Speaker 1>any sort of reverence for Metroid Prime, I bet this game.
<v Speaker 2>Is probably quite a bit better for those people.
<v Speaker 1>So I wait for a sale that Nintendo game's go
<v Speaker 1>on sale once every ten years or something like that.
<v Speaker 1>Once and all new pole question, have you played Overwatch recently
<v Speaker 1>in the last week? In the last month, in the
<v Speaker 1>last year, or no, those are your options. We will
<v Speaker 1>get the results of that. Talk about it here on
<v Speaker 1>Games Mornings on Giant Bomb tomorrow again to end out
<v Speaker 1>the week with the Bomb twelve and all that. In
<v Speaker 1>the meantime, speaking of of Giant Bomb, jan what do
<v Speaker 1>we have happening today and for the rest of the week.
<v Speaker 3>Earlier today, before y'all talked over the Nintendo Partner direct
<v Speaker 3>we put out a quick ish look of Neo three
<v Speaker 3>featuring our dear dear friend Kayla, and Kayla helped Mike
<v Speaker 3>Manati defeat a boss and run through the world of
<v Speaker 3>Neo three fun times. We had I strongly suggest y'all
<v Speaker 3>check that out. Later today, we got the guest train
<v Speaker 3>continuing on because we have Bailey Myers joining us on
<v Speaker 3>the voicemail dump truck. And I think that's it for today,
<v Speaker 3>Grub there's I mean, we got a lot of stuff
<v Speaker 3>popping off behind the scenes too.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, we do, We absolutely do. We'll have more on
<v Speaker 1>all of that next week. We'll be able to announce
<v Speaker 1>some of it at the very least. So yeah, barring
<v Speaker 1>any changes to anything. All right, let's see here, we
<v Speaker 1>did the new poll question. We talked about what's happening.
<v Speaker 1>I did not say thank you, Jane, and thank you
<v Speaker 1>for representing me at the way I need to be
<v Speaker 1>represented here by getting this pgtuber thing going. I like
<v Speaker 1>this image because it's it recaptures the fact that my
<v Speaker 1>neck just basically is on the same parallel line with
<v Speaker 1>my beard. My neck just is so stupid thick. It's
<v Speaker 1>dummy thick. I'm gonna say, yam, I'm proud of my
<v Speaker 1>dummy thick neck.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, no, you should be grub. I also thank you
<v Speaker 3>like that I look like an Asian cheech.
<v Speaker 2>Or Chong or both cheech and or chok. Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah. Our dear friend Will, who helps us with social
<v Speaker 3>painted this this morning so incredible.
<v Speaker 2>Thank you, Will. I didn't know that you know here
<v Speaker 2>we are?
<v Speaker 1>Uh John, that's not ro That doesn't work. It just
<v Speaker 1>sounds like a different Asian name. Don't close enough? Close enough?
<v Speaker 1>All right, all right, thanks everybody for watching. I appreciate it.
<v Speaker 1>You're the best audience in gaming. U should oh, Jan,
<v Speaker 1>thank you so much for talking with me about video
<v Speaker 1>games today.
<v Speaker 2>I really appreciate it.
<v Speaker 3>Man, It's the only way to start a Thursday Grub.
<v Speaker 1>Catch you all next time. I have a good one.
<v Speaker 1>Take care of yourself and the
