That's gonna be an absolute battle East first West kind of battle. Two teams that are gonna probably be there at the end at least battle and to get to the championships. And it's been a lot of fun so far, a lot a lot of fun.

Speaker 2: Yeah, So I'm doing sixteen games for this week. The first first day I had two games, and now I have one game all the way up until Sunday, and then two on Monday. I'll broadcast, then back to one on Tuesday, then two on Wednesday, two on Thursday, two on Saturday, two on Sunday. So my week picks up as we move forward and the games get bigger and bigger. So yeah, it's it's enjoyable. I love this time year, my fifth year doing it, and pin trading has been incredible too, So let's not forget about that.

I'm not going to harp on this for a while, todd Father, But just like the All Star Game uniforms, and that's a more passionate topic, we fixed that. Can we make players weekend a nickname thing on the back of the jerseys again next go round?

But you know, some players like to keep their cleats, if you want the truth, they're so cool. They could hang them up in there, you know, in their man cave or something else. Like. Not everybody wants to give all their stuff away all the time. So you know, a little disappointing by MLB not having the jerseys.

But I actually want to start with Texas in Toronto going at it this weekend. So Toronto's obviously trying to keep their spot at the top of the division, and right now they're in good shape, although I will say Boston's had a pretty nice run. I know this week was down for them. They're five games back. Looked at Boston's schedule, it's got some soft spots. So Toronto's got to keep up right. Seventy one and fifty one on the year, and they're taking on a Rangers team coming up here that needs to get going quickly. They're three and a half games out of a wildcard and they have another team to leap ahead up just to get there. Here it is, so you've got the Mariners, the Red Sox, and the Yankees currently holding wildcard seats in the American League. Cleveland is just a half a game back, Texas is three and a half back, Kansas City's four back, and the Angels are five backs. So if the Rangers want to make a push, you got to get going soon. Right, we're at about the forty game mark left to go in the year. It's de Grama on the mountain tonight against Chris Bassett. Saturday is Patrick Corbin against Eric Lauer, and then Native Baldi against Jose Burrios. The concern usually is the same concern that we've had for two years with Texas. Are they going to score enough runs in this game? And for Toronto, I mean yeah, they're still bringing vibescrats. Even yesterday they pull off a win, Big Laddie Homer, Max Schurzer looked really good and the Owen Casey at bat I thought was just perfectly played right. The sick kid for the Cubs who makes his debut, he's from Canada. They give him the really respectful nice ovation from the Canadian crowd, Canada nice. And then he gets absolutely robbed by David Schneider, who probably made the best defensive play he's made in his life. I mean, that was incredible out there in left field. Oh like nice, we have it. That's a beauty right.

Speaker 1: And also, I mean, we'll move it right to the Cubs here. They're taking on the Pirates for three games this weekend. Kratz. The division looks like a long shot. They're in a pretty comfortable position, especially with a team like the Mets falling apart right now, and even the Mets are still in a wild card seat right ahead of the Reds. But for Chicago, they still have to all of their offense. Their offense has gone quiet, and they've lost their last three series against the Reds of the Cardinals and the Blue Jays, Cubs, and Dodgers. Holding those first two wildcard spots feels weird to say that about La and then the Mets at sixty four and fifty seven just to half game clear of Cincinnati, and then there's a little more separation after that. But this should be the medicine that you need. You catch a Pittsburgh team that's lost five in a row and they've been stumbling around, so they haven't been in it for a long period of time. They can blitz you in a series or two, but coming off what they just did against Milwaukee, it would kind of be embarrassing. I mean, you look at the way that Milwaukee man handled them, and Chicago does have some big names in their lineup. This is part of why they brought up Owen Casey, but this could be the way to get them going. I mean, especially when you look at the bullpen crafts like it's not the same you lost Bednar, Like this should be the time period where Pirates are trying guys out, Cubs should be able to take advantage.

Speaker 3: Okay, but you said the Cubs need to work on their offense. The Cubs don't need to work on their pitching. Their pitching is gonna be kind of what it is. I think they're pitching is kind of a mid rotation. I think their bullpen has to step up. But to me, you talked about the offense. You don't want to go into. You don't want to go into Pittsburgh. I was trying to look up who's starting the next few days for the Pirates and I'm glitching so I can't see it. But you're gonna face some decent starting pitching. That's not what you want to see when your offense is just not clicking. You don't want to go into Toronto and see Gosman and see Burrios and see I forget who else threw against them, but oh Sureser yesterday. You don't want to see a lower you know, you want to see a team that maybe has a little bit of a softer starting rotation. I was trying to see if the Pirates are.

Please accept my admiration for your forbearons during what must have been a trying time. I laughed, that was really well written, and this coycrats is trying to say that we talk more about the Brewers overall on our show than the Chicago Cubs, a show that is on Marquee that has had half their players on in the past year, and right now, the Milwaukee Brewers are a team to talk about since they've won twelve games in a row and have the best record. So yeah, I'm petty, but I actually thought it was fun the way that he phrased it. I had to do one of these with my eyes, like are we talking about the same person me? I was like, I would think that Brewers fans would come after me, not Cubs fans.

The knuckleball, that's a forkball. Seemed like it was moving a lot, but it's always going to be out of the zone. It just didn't look like his rhythm was there. And minor league games, you never know what's gonna happen because these dudes all see the big leaguer and they're like, I'm getting this guy because I can always say I got a hit against the big leaguer.

So is it a red flag, I would say a little bit, but understandably he just wants to be healthy.

Padres bullpen might be one of the best to see how they do the rest of the year. Might be one of the best bullpens constructed partway through a season, because they already were legit before the trade deadline, and then they just added everybody.

So we just talked about second base playing short on the majority of the time, not every game, but majority.

You know, it's funny, we're doing this right, and I'm looking at the Dodgers lineup in the state of where it's at right now, and obviously it's still full of star power at the top, but you know it's not you're looking at second base. You're like, you're looking at certain outfield spots like and then the Padres had that right for most of the season, Krats with the bottom third of their lineup. There was a point where people really down on this team. Not me, but the bottom third of the lineup was struggling, and they really patched that up just now. I mean, that's probably probably the underrated component of what they did at the deadline because Mason Miller steals the show.

But I think when you add when you look at teams that have had success into the postseason, winning World Series from some of their contributors at the trade deadline, rarely is it that monster pick up those guys. It's like, well, he's just doing what he's supposed to do. You think about the Braves and they pick up Rosario. I think they picked up Rosario, Eddie Rosario, Adam Duvall, Jorge Solaire won the MVP of the World Series. Ramon Larriano and O'Hearn are going to be guys that are gonna get sporadic at bats. But five games in a week of seven games, and that's where you pick up on the margins when you're already a really good team. That's I mean, that's why they get an A plus at the trade deadline. You can't do more than what more, You can't do better than what the Padres did.

And this is just one of many that I've seen where fans are absolutely tearing a Dolice Garcia apart. I get it hasn't been nearly the same player for the last couple of years, but wait, can we throw that up one more time on the show? Evan Grant's reply here a Doolics Garcia has not performed. He may have played his last game for the Rangers. This is what Evan Grant said. But there's a mean spirited, punitive tone to so many tweets about a guy who did so much for this team. That's the part I don't get. I agree Kratz, if you think it's problem, you don't want him on the current ball club, okay, but the attacks get really harsh. He won you a World Series two years ago. That's why most fans root for things, right, especially the fans are talking about this like that are rooting for their team to win games. I get it, you don't want him on the current team. He's on the IL right now, but show the guy a little bit of love and respect.
