I'm Matt Jones here in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where I'm on the end of my trip to see the Reds and the Pirates. Getting in the car driving back tonight Your Reds have a home game against Think Philly, but Snoop dogg playing tonight in Cincinnati and gives Shallon Clarks Pumping Shop phone line eight five twenty two eighty seven. Drew is in Lexington, Shannon is in Louisville. 00:01:14 Speaker 5: Ryan is off, So. 00:01:15 Speaker 6: We've got a rare three people in three different places. Drew Franklin, I am in Pittsburgh, where we spent the entire weekend towards the city uh and watch the Reds win two games and now about to head home. And been a good, good weekend up here in the Steel City. 00:01:33 Speaker 2: I'm glad I predicted a sweep, but you know, two out of threes not bad? Did the did the fellas enjoy all the things beyond the baseball? I know they're excited for some of them seeing Pittsburgh for the first time. 00:01:44 Speaker 6: So you know, you and I have made a number of trips to Pittsburgh. I guess you and I went on one of our baseball tours. I think you and I went we with Shannon and Ryan for Pickle Fest. Then you we went to years ago when Kentucky lost to Oakland. So this is at least my fourth trip to Pittsburgh, and I've had a ton of fun with my friends. But I think, Drew, I think Pittsburgh has a has a limit as to the place as you could go, because I was sitting there thinking when we've been in the past. When you and I went to the Oakland game, we really didn't have time to do anything else, remember, and then we lost and came right back home, right, so we. 00:02:28 Speaker 5: Didn't even really do anything. 00:02:30 Speaker 6: Then when we went to Pickle Fast, they were having this big festival and we did that. And I think when we went to the baseball game the one time, we just went to the game and left. So when you get three days in the city, what I would say, Shannon is Pittsburgh is a really good, like one day city. 00:02:45 Speaker 3: Well that's what I got because I've only been there one time, and we got that one night. 00:02:49 Speaker 4: There was a lot of I think you're good. 00:02:51 Speaker 5: Now, I think you're good. 00:02:52 Speaker 3: I think there's It was very memorable though, I mean a lot of great things happened. We were stand in that airbnb that was shady at best, and then we went to the pickle Fest and you said, you know, more than the internet. There, we tried to get pickled beer, We met Tylee Texas. 00:03:07 Speaker 4: A lot of great things happen on that night. 00:03:09 Speaker 5: Yeah, no, I've we have. 00:03:10 Speaker 6: I've had a lot of fun a lot of fun because because it was with my friends, but we kind of realized, like, I think the symbol of Pittsburgh and I don't want to be mean, because there are Pittsburgh people listening and I and they've given me recommendations and and and the I just the food and just everything, and it was just it's just not great. Including Drew, on our way to walk to the game yesterday, we saw someone had lit two porta potties on fire and one was completely incinerated. And I want you to think just for a second of what you think a porta potty looks like when it has been completely torched. 00:03:49 Speaker 5: Get yourself in the like to the ground, like not standing anymore. 00:03:53 Speaker 6: But that's stunk, Okay, you know, like that goo that was probably left, Think about what that would look like, Yeah, portable goo. And they just leave it in the street, Shannon, right outside the stadium, like they didn't have any sense of maybe we ought to clean this, it might not be a great look in front of the stadium. 00:04:14 Speaker 5: They just kind of left it right there. 00:04:15 Speaker 3: I'm glad they're doing good things with the city, really focusing on cleaning things up, but I'm just wonder like what is the scenario in which a porter putty is set on fire? 00:04:24 Speaker 4: Like you're just mad? 00:04:26 Speaker 6: It has to be intentional. Sure, somebody smoking in it? 00:04:29 Speaker 4: You think somebody smoking in it, like you know, just threw down the. 00:04:33 Speaker 6: Base's plausible, right, You're smoking in it and there's probably not a lot of ventilation. 00:04:38 Speaker 3: I think it was somebody who was just mad at the world, maybe wanted to make some sort of statement. I'm gonna go mad at the fact they were in Pittsburgh. Exactly what do we do? Set this thing on fire? Burn it down? 00:04:50 Speaker 5: Well, don't get wrong, I did have a really good time. 00:04:54 Speaker 6: The Braves won both games I went or Braves Rands won both games I went to. They won, uh Saturday two to one. Then yesterday was was like four hour crazy game one fourteen to eight. Both teams combined for like thirty hits. There was a ton of home runs, a lot of fun. It was hot here, but but I've enjoyed it. You know, we went you remember when we went last time? Shit and we ate it Primani Brothers or whatever with the with the fries on the sandwich. 00:05:22 Speaker 5: Ye know what I'm talking about. 00:05:23 Speaker 4: Yeah, Yeah, And I. 00:05:24 Speaker 6: Think we were all disappointed. We did it again here, disappointed again. I don't understand why people drew like that sandwich, which is just like a Postromi sandwich and they just put French fries on it. 00:05:37 Speaker 5: I don't know why people think that's great. 00:05:38 Speaker 6: I think the whole Philadelphia Cheese steak, all that stuff way outshines whatever it is Pittsburgh does here. 00:05:45 Speaker 2: Yeah, it's one of those you got to get one wire there, but I believe I've had one and that was enough. 00:05:50 Speaker 5: Yeah, I think that's plenty. 00:05:52 Speaker 2: I've been on a bachelor party in Pittsburgh that was real. There's the downtown casino, so if you if you run out there, we didn't go, always go to the We. 00:06:00 Speaker 6: Went to casino last night. I'm not gonna say which one of my friends, but one of them. It took him four times to gain entry. You two could probably guess which one it was because it's happened many times over the years. 00:06:12 Speaker 7: For that. 00:06:12 Speaker 6: They finally on the fourth attempt allowed him in, which I thought was interesting. You rarely see someone get four attempts. I learned a new uh casino game that I I don't know if I recommend it because it's it's not particularly fun, but it's called Mississippi Stud and Shannon, if you want to lose your money while also not understanding what's going on, may I recommend to you Mississippi Stud the next time you go to the caste. 00:06:39 Speaker 5: Yeah. 00:06:39 Speaker 4: I've never even heard of it before. That sounds like a great way to lose some money. 00:06:41 Speaker 3: I want to go back to just you just to meet your friend here who will remain aimless? 00:06:45 Speaker 5: Didn't didn't get let in four times? 00:06:47 Speaker 3: Okay, well how does that work? Did he tried different gates each time? Like now like did the same kept going back to the same. 00:06:54 Speaker 5: I think I could just say, because I'm not saying which one it is? 00:06:56 Speaker 6: He he he had a uh he only everywhere he goes he carries a knife, which, by the way, is not something I do. 00:07:06 Speaker 5: Well. 00:07:06 Speaker 4: I mean, it's like something my grandpa did. 00:07:07 Speaker 6: He always had it is it's something grandpa's dawn, Like my grandpa always had a knife. Yeah, when's the last time you've been somewhere Drew and you thought I really wish I had a knife right now? 00:07:17 Speaker 2: Have you have you ever ever thought that? I mean, I have I have my kitchen knives. Other than that, I knife isn't really going with me anywhere. 00:07:25 Speaker 6: Yeah, my grandfather gave me a knife, and it's still in a drawer. You know how, I have a drawer of things that are I might need these one day. 00:07:34 Speaker 5: It's in there. 00:07:35 Speaker 6: Well, I wasn't carrying my knife, so he carried and he was carrying his knick. We walk in, he Shannon, he declared the knife walking in. 00:07:42 Speaker 5: Yeah, I guess he didn't want the metal detector to go off. 00:07:45 Speaker 6: He said, I have a knife, and the woman said, well, you can't get in here with that, and so he goes okay, and then he walked outside the door and Shandon, he just set it outside the door, just set the knife. 00:07:58 Speaker 5: Comes back in second time. 00:08:01 Speaker 6: He said, sir, you can't just leave the knife sitting outside the door and picking. 00:08:05 Speaker 5: It up later. All right, But see, wee nuber there. He has nowhere else to put it. 00:08:10 Speaker 4: Take it like a coat check or something and drop it off there. 00:08:13 Speaker 6: So there's a fence out the front. So he walks back out and he puts it in through one of the holes of the fence and leaves it on the other side of the fence. Yeah, she said, because she had said you're gonna have to take it off the property. 00:08:26 Speaker 5: So he takes it off the fence. 00:08:28 Speaker 6: Then he takes it over there, and she goes, that's not far enough off the property. Oh my god, all the way back out there get it. And I told him he should just throw it like out as far as he could throw it, and said he just put it in the trash can, and he threw away his knife, and then they let him in. So he ended up losing his knife and we were able to come in and play Mississippi stuff that there's times of charm to get into the book to the casino. 00:08:55 Speaker 3: Now he doesn't have his knife, he can't carve an apple, he can't do any whittling while he's there. 00:08:59 Speaker 4: I mean, well, I don't even need that to begin. 00:09:01 Speaker 3: We always wonder, all you're gonna stick somebody, like, why are you carrying that nice clear. 00:09:04 Speaker 6: If there's any emergency wintling that needs done, We're just gonna be screwed. 00:09:10 Speaker 8: We're gonna be screwed. 00:09:11 Speaker 5: On the rest of the drive home. 00:09:13 Speaker 4: He finally got in. 00:09:14 Speaker 6: So anyway, and by the way, Summer Velly only a game and a half back from the wild card. Now the Mets are a game and a half ahead of us with like forty games to go. We play the Phillies this weekend. 00:09:26 Speaker 5: That's tough. 00:09:27 Speaker 6: The Mets play the Braves, Shannon Drew, I need you all to help us out. The Mets have lost nine of ten. 00:09:34 Speaker 5: Can you keep that up? 00:09:35 Speaker 3: For we own the Mets. So I think the Braves they've got you. No, you just got to take care of business on your end. Red still gotta win. 00:09:41 Speaker 5: But I think the brains yeah, well, the Reds schedule starts to get hard this week. This is a tough week. They've got the Phillies and the Brewers. 00:09:47 Speaker 6: But Drew, will you tell my Braves or tell your Braves to play extra hard for us this week? 00:09:53 Speaker 5: I will. 00:09:54 Speaker 2: I want the Reds in the playoffs, so I hope the Braves do well. I will note I think they've won three games since a out the middle of July, two of which were against the Reds. Against We're not really hot at the time, but we'll do our best. 00:10:08 Speaker 7: Well. 00:10:08 Speaker 6: I hope it ends up having eight five, nine, two twenty two eighty seven. Uh, we are gonna get you ready throughout the day. Here go over some stuff. Let's start dor. 00:10:17 Speaker 5: They had UK football If you UK Football's. 00:10:21 Speaker 6: First practice, uh like inner squad practice, or at least the one since the thing had started. And there were really three things that stuck out to me. 00:10:30 Speaker 7: Uh. 00:10:31 Speaker 6: Number one, the coaches all clearly have a theme. Three of the position coaches spoke. 00:10:36 Speaker 5: They didn't. 00:10:37 Speaker 6: This is the first thing. You know, a lot of time they don't. The position coaches don't speak until the season gets going. It was anwar Stewart and honestly I can't remember who the other two were, but they all three used the same phrase. They all three said, in some respect, we know there are doubters out there, but we're not gonna worry about it. 00:10:55 Speaker 5: We're not doing any talking. The doubters will learn. 00:10:58 Speaker 6: An war Stewart was allowed as saying, I know there's people out there in the media saying we're only gonna win four or five games. I think he's what he said, So, Shannon, I'm thinking he's talking about this show because we have all used the four or five games scenario. Yeah, and he says, but we are gonna show the doubters that they're wrong. Do you like that mentality, Drew? Do you like the acknowledging that people doubt saying we're not talking. We're saying we're not gonna say anything, while I guess they are saying something and saying we're gonna shut all those doubters up. 00:11:33 Speaker 2: I like that he says it, and it's it's it sounds like they're they're being very intentional and keeping everything internal. Don't listen the outside noise. We believe in ourselves. That's the way you want your players and your coaches to talk. And Phil, However, as one of those DeBie downers, that is me, my hand is raised. I worry that that will backfire and be used against him in a few weeks if it's not going well. Same with Bush Hampden's comments about how the big Blue Wall will be back. If this season does doesn't go well, you're gonna look back at some of the things that have said in the last few weeks and probably be used against them. But I guess it is the right attitude to have. It was just odd hearing him be so out front about it and kind of calling people out. Really, I think. 00:12:14 Speaker 6: Shannon people coaches should do whatever it takes to motivate their team, right, and if what motivating their team is means saying, hey, we have doubters. I mean, all the coaches do that. Here's what I don't understand. I don't understand how you can claim you're not hearing it and then respond to all of it. 00:12:31 Speaker 5: Oh they know. 00:12:31 Speaker 6: I would rather they just come out and go, everybody's against this, good, let's go we're I mean, and then I still prefer this staff trash talking. I prefer this staff because I think the silence has been a huge mistake. 00:12:48 Speaker 5: What has been the biggest what has been the best part of the off season for Kentucky football. It's been Shias Pete. 00:12:54 Speaker 6: Right, Yeah, that that's been the best part of the off season. Sports Center picked up our interview with him. 00:12:59 Speaker 5: Shannon, did you see that? 00:13:00 Speaker 4: No, I didn't say. 00:13:01 Speaker 5: The Sports Center Instagram pitch up that interview. 00:13:05 Speaker 6: They I mean, there have literally been millions of people across the country see that. 00:13:10 Speaker 5: To me, that says, Hey, this fan base, they are dying. 00:13:15 Speaker 6: To know something about you all. So this whole like, we're not gonna say anything, We're gonna put our head down. 00:13:21 Speaker 5: Watch you know, doubters, we know. I just I don't like it. 00:13:25 Speaker 4: Now. 00:13:25 Speaker 5: Again, if they win, none of it matter. If they lose, none of it will matter. 00:13:28 Speaker 6: I don't think they've handled this PR the off season from a PR perspective very well outside of one Shiage Pete interview. 00:13:36 Speaker 5: And but you know, I think it's just that's clearly the strategy they want to do. 00:13:40 Speaker 3: I like the confidence, you know. I like the they're they're talking up this team. I mean as opposed to what either not saying anything. They're not gonna come out and go, oh, we're gonna suck this year. So I like that there's confidence. But you gotta go out there and back it up. And of course they hear, they might be actively seeking out radio stations to hear what's being said about them, but they see this stuff on social media. 00:13:58 Speaker 4: I mean, you can't you can't avoid it. 00:13:59 Speaker 5: If you're a player now, you can't avoid it. And I'm fine with them not avoiding it. I just wish to acknowledge it. The second thing we have to do, and I want to talk about this a little more after the break. What were they doing with that picture? 00:14:12 Speaker 8: Shoot? 00:14:14 Speaker 4: Oh yeah yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah yeah. I was hoping we would talk about what. 00:14:19 Speaker 5: Were they doing with that? 00:14:21 Speaker 6: All right, So during the break, here's what I want you to if you're listening out there because I have intentionally not posted it because I got fans of all these other teams followed me. 00:14:30 Speaker 4: This is worse than the construction helmets they were. 00:14:32 Speaker 6: This is the worst thing we've done in a long time as a UK as a UK picture video. I have intentionally not posted it because I know how many fans of other teams follow us. 00:14:45 Speaker 5: But we listen. 00:14:46 Speaker 6: We're family. We can all talk together, everybody during the break. Just look up this video. 00:14:54 Speaker 5: I don't know what should they search for, Becau Drew. 00:14:56 Speaker 7: You don't. 00:14:56 Speaker 5: You shouldn't post it either. You've got too many people following you. 00:14:58 Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't want those mentions. I guess his last name is Rainer so r a y n e R. If you search his name, I think it will come up, all right. 00:15:07 Speaker 6: So look up Rainer or just look up video that makes us all cry. I want everything to be on the same page when we talk about it. 00:15:14 Speaker 4: Yeah, maybe just because it's all Kentucky football. 00:15:18 Speaker 5: Shannon, don't you post it either? 00:15:19 Speaker 4: Oh yeah no, no, if you guys aren't gonna do what I am. 00:15:22 Speaker 5: Now, no, Shan is I'm doing it. Do not contribute to this video? 00:15:27 Speaker 3: Well, I mean, obviously they want people to see it. I'm just trying to help them give some views. 00:15:31 Speaker 6: Said, do you want to be then you could be the one to do it. But everybody look at it and then we'll come back after the break and talk about it. 00:15:38 Speaker 5: If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, it's Ksry welcome back at his Kentucky sports radio. 00:15:45 Speaker 6: If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, text machine seven seven two seven seven four five two five four, one person writes, Matt, my husband always carries a pocket knife. Ask him if he has a knife on him and he says, am I wearing pants? So I guess is that like a I guess it's a manly thing to have a knife. Do you know any women that carry a knife anywhere? 00:16:09 Speaker 2: I don't, Drew, No, No, I can't think of the time I would need it. There'd be so many days I'd walk around with a knife and never never did. 00:16:18 Speaker 6: I don't know that there's been one time in my life, Shannon, that I've taken a knife. 00:16:23 Speaker 5: What do you do when you open it? 00:16:25 Speaker 3: Is that? 00:16:25 Speaker 5: Is there like word for it? Open the blade? 00:16:28 Speaker 4: Yeah? 00:16:29 Speaker 8: What is that? 00:16:30 Speaker 5: But is there like a term like like switch it or something a switch blade. 00:16:36 Speaker 3: Yeah, but I don't think you're carrying what you're carrying like a little small one that flips like a little pocket knife. 00:16:41 Speaker 5: Yeah. 00:16:41 Speaker 6: I'm just saying. I don't think there's ever a time I've opened one and then used it. 00:16:45 Speaker 5: Ever. 00:16:46 Speaker 6: I think I have one, but I would never I would never carry it. And you can't carry it into the Pittsburgh casino. I can tell you that right now, or they will make you leave. 00:16:55 Speaker 2: On my Pittsburgh bachelor party must be a Pittsburgh thing. I flew there with my best friend from Lexington and I go through security and I don't see him. I'm like, all right, I go sit at the bar and thirty minutes have passed and I text him like, how did I lose you? From TSA to here? He had a gigantic knife in his bag going through the Pittsburgh airport. Come home from the bachelor party. So it must be a Pittsburgh thing. 00:17:16 Speaker 6: And people need their map, well they must, they must have some history with it, all right. So Shannon posted the video, which I was very rude of him. So I don't know, Let's let's give them for people so you can find it on Twitter at Shannon the Dude. It might be on KSR as well. I'm not sure. Maybe we didn't put it there on purpose. Let's give them the best for people who haven't seen. They have two of the players holding hands like they're facing each other. They're facing each other, hands together, and they both jump up in the air and kick their legs up in the air. But by kick the legs up in the air, I mean like feet going backwards, so staying straight straight up and down, but their feet go up and if you have a hard time picturing it, no human being jumps like this, okay, I mean it's not a natural it's not a natural jumping. 00:18:19 Speaker 5: And they are holding each other's hand, looking at the camera and they both jump like that. Let's give them the best of all motives, Drew, What were they thinking? 00:18:35 Speaker 2: Okay? They they obviously have some personality. I remember King's media day one time. DeMarcus wore glasses and held a book. He was being like a nerd at media day. They're trying to have fun with media day. But at no point did they consider what other fan bases would say. 00:18:50 Speaker 5: What did that? 00:18:51 Speaker 6: But what was the point of that picture? Like like jumping up and being goofy. I get even the little step brother's picture, so they have like a step brother's picture where he's leaning on him. 00:19:01 Speaker 5: Okay, that one's fine, But the jumping up in. 00:19:05 Speaker 6: The air and kicking their legs back while holding hands, what was the what was the theory behind that. 00:19:12 Speaker 5: Someone told them to do that? 00:19:14 Speaker 6: When when the person was telling them to do that, what were they thinking they were accomplishing. 00:19:19 Speaker 2: I think it's the opposite. I think the photographer probably said, are you sure you want to do this? Because I know you think the players came up with there's no no one would make them do that. That person should be fired if they made them do that. I think that's them trying to show some personality, not even considering what a horrible look is for uh. At least one of them is your starting linebacker who is first to lead your defense. I think the one on the left is a freshman. He's probably just seeing a captain on the team, like, Okay, I guess I better do this. But Rayner is a starting linebacker, and the Tennessee's, the Louisville's, you name it. They are just having so much fun with this all the time. 00:19:55 Speaker 5: Why are they doing it? 00:19:56 Speaker 7: Why? 00:19:57 Speaker 5: What is it? Why are they holding hands? 00:20:01 Speaker 3: You're not intimidated by that video? And you don't think that those guys get us run you over after seeing that video? 00:20:06 Speaker 5: I mean, listen, let people be whatever they want. But I cannot imagine taking that video and putting it out, can you? 00:20:20 Speaker 9: Yeah? 00:20:20 Speaker 2: He posted it himself. It wasn't like someone behind the scenes took it and he didn't want it out. He Rainer posted it on his account. 00:20:27 Speaker 3: Like the second half of the video is fine with him, like taking the ball between his legs. 00:20:31 Speaker 5: That looks that stuff's fine, But what is that? What is the job? I mean that picture that's gonna that picture is gonna live all year. 00:20:39 Speaker 2: Mm hmmm. 00:20:40 Speaker 5: Yeah. 00:20:41 Speaker 2: Do you remember the Patrick toles Cat's pause cover when he was Harry Potter. 00:20:45 Speaker 5: The Patrick toles Cat's pause cover would beat up that video, right? 00:20:51 Speaker 2: I thought that was our worst look of all. 00:20:53 Speaker 6: The Patrick toles Cat's pause cover is it's Adrian Adonish. 00:21:00 Speaker 5: Shit. I don't know what this is. When I first saw it, I have to tell you, I thought it was Ai. I was like, I thought somebody is screwing with us. 00:21:09 Speaker 6: Yeah, there's no way that they would do that picture and with that look on their face, and I guess I still the part I don't get, Shitton is the holding hands like it's not even it's. 00:21:22 Speaker 5: Not it's so awkward. 00:21:24 Speaker 4: Is that a trend or something that we're old? 00:21:26 Speaker 6: Okay, well that's what I ask. Is there a trend or something that we don't understand? Am I missing something? 00:21:32 Speaker 5: Please tell me there is. I want to be told I'm. 00:21:35 Speaker 6: Missing something, because if I'm missing something, then I can accept it and just go Oh, Tennessee Louisville fans, they don't understand this cool trend, right, Like maybe it's like the you know, I don't know pick the trend of the Maybe it's like the Rizzler. 00:21:50 Speaker 5: Maybe we just don't know what he does this. 00:21:55 Speaker 2: There has to be a reason, true, I don't think there is. I wish Ryan were here and I weren't by myself, Mario is with me. I'd recreate it with Ryan. I'd try to get the heat off our football players and put it on us. Take one for the team there. 00:22:08 Speaker 5: Actually, I tell you what, No, no, you know what, Drew, I think you do need to do that. Why don't you grab Billy? 00:22:14 Speaker 2: I think did Billy leave, Mario. I'll get the guy that sits outside the door. If Billy's not, just. 00:22:19 Speaker 5: Get somebody and recreate it. 00:22:20 Speaker 6: Okay, because you're right, we we we're gonna have to take one for the team because I think we're lucky Shannon that more of college football hasn't discovered that. 00:22:29 Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I still don't think it's as viral as it could. 00:22:32 Speaker 4: It's not. I mean, I saw it, but I think a lot of people were just. 00:22:36 Speaker 6: Because it was on the weekend and stuff. I don't know if everybody has seen it. 00:22:40 Speaker 3: Maybe we shouldn't have talked about it, shouldn't have tweeted it, which is what I said to you. 00:22:46 Speaker 4: We're contributing to the viol if it goes. 00:22:50 Speaker 5: If it goes viral, it's because you. I told you. I told you. Let's leave it amongst ourselves on this show. Let's not put it online. 00:22:59 Speaker 6: If I'm not twenty or two eighty seven's KSR. 00:23:05 Speaker 2: TJ. Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ. 00:23:08 Speaker 4: He'll make them pay. 00:23:09 Speaker 3: Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio present it by Stockton Mortgage. 00:23:13 Speaker 4: Here's Matt Jones. 00:23:14 Speaker 5: Welcome back, Tukey Sports Radio. 00:23:15 Speaker 6: Apparently UK did put that picture out the video out originally Drew and then took it off. 00:23:21 Speaker 2: If you're gonna put out, y'all leave it, that's worse. 00:23:24 Speaker 6: Yeah, I think it is kind of worse. Now we have a woman that's a young woman that listens. She she writes and says, uh, you are not gen z. You don't understand. I watched it and thought it was fun, and that may be true. That's what I'm hoping is the case. That's what I'm hoping is the case. I'm hoping this is just you know, Matt, Shannon and Drew. They don't get it, and that's what I'm hoping. I will see the initial reaction online. Seems like more people have reacted like us Drew than to say it was fun, but that's okay, you know what. Maybe so I just have a feeling that the kind of people that are into college football are not going to be the kind of people that are going to go, oh, that's fun, that's a fun video. High score recruits though do Maybe they do? Maybe it is fun. Maybe I'm wrong. 00:24:13 Speaker 2: I have my doubts, but I'm mid I'm not him. Everything the kids are doing linebacker to be mean and angry and I'm not getting it there. 00:24:22 Speaker 5: She just I think she just graduate school. Maybe she knows. 00:24:25 Speaker 3: I have to tell you that I overheard during the break a conversation that was going on in the election at Lexson Studio, and Mario was totally on board with recreating the video. 00:24:35 Speaker 4: Billy, however, said absolutely not. I will not do it. 00:24:38 Speaker 3: And Billy is still there. By the way, Billy didn't run off, So don't act like Billy's not there. Billy's there, but Billy refuses to do the video. 00:24:44 Speaker 2: I did get a hard no from Billy. Not Eve wouldn't Eve entertain That's so. 00:24:48 Speaker 6: Light, that's that's you know, what keeps Billy from reaching his two potential is. 00:24:53 Speaker 4: Doing that doing not doing videos, like not doing video. 00:24:55 Speaker 5: You know who would do it? Ryan would do it, Yeah, Drew would do it. 00:24:59 Speaker 2: I was about the content. 00:25:00 Speaker 5: I would do it. 00:25:02 Speaker 6: Shannon, I don't know if you would do it, Like you and Billy are kind of the same way, Like you all have this I'm a cool thing. I don't know if you would do it or. 00:25:11 Speaker 4: I don't know if I would do that exactly. 00:25:13 Speaker 6: All right, let's before we go. The phones in out Friday night. I guess they started the high school football scrimmages in Kentucky and apparently there was a massive fight. 00:25:22 Speaker 5: Drew, have you seen this? 00:25:24 Speaker 2: I have the photos? 00:25:25 Speaker 5: Who it was Rowland County? And who is it? Bourbon County? I feel like it was one of them. 00:25:34 Speaker 2: No, No, rownd was one of them. The other I'm I want to make sure I get right. I started to say, Well, so I have not seen the video of the fight. 00:25:42 Speaker 5: I've just seen pictures of bloody people walking around county. Yeah, Bourbon County. 00:25:47 Speaker 6: So Round County and Bourbon County they get in a fight and it is there a video of the fight or is it just the aftermath? Because the aftermath looks like a Final Destinations movie, like like there. 00:25:59 Speaker 5: Are like multiple bloody people. Do we know what happened? 00:26:04 Speaker 2: I've only seen the photos and read the five hundred comments or whatever it was with different people saying what happened, But I have not seen an actual video. 00:26:12 Speaker 6: So I saw the KHSA made a statement about it and like send it to all the high schools and said y'all better act right, or we're gonna make you recreate that video if you can. 00:26:23 Speaker 5: Football. But what what did the com Since I've been up here. What did the come you said, there were descriptions of what happened? 00:26:33 Speaker 6: What what? 00:26:33 Speaker 2: What were they? Well, there's the there's a picture of a kid just his face is just all blood. That's what you saw. 00:26:40 Speaker 5: Yeah, he looks like he's been in the ladder match. 00:26:42 Speaker 2: Yeah, in the comments and said someone took his helmet off and hit him, hit him with it. And then there's like stories of players running nearly fifty yards to go find another player, people coming out of the stands. It sounds like there was a royal rumble at this opening, But it was just a scrimmage. 00:26:59 Speaker 6: It was a screw a man. Shannon, Do Bourbon County and Round County have beef? What are they fighting to. 00:27:05 Speaker 4: Take those scrimmage roll? Seriously they're between those two. 00:27:08 Speaker 6: I don't know, Like, well, if you were there, I'd like to know some details because all I've seen is the picture of the bloody people at But like you get that many people into place, someone I would think would have had a video. That's one of the worst aftermass of a high school certainly of a high school football fight I've ever seen. 00:27:28 Speaker 2: It's not a little bit of blood. 00:27:29 Speaker 6: His face is covered, his face is He's like, it's like Rick Flair Barry Wyndham with his face. 00:27:35 Speaker 5: Yeah, it's unbelievable. 00:27:37 Speaker 4: Cy alright, wh's up first, Let's go to John John. 00:27:40 Speaker 5: Go ahead, John. 00:27:42 Speaker 8: I'm was accused of this over the weekend. Am I being a bad fan for thinking that this Kentucky football team is going to go too and ten? Like? I've seen a lot of delusional thanks where they're going to make the playoffs. But I don't think it's bad. 00:27:56 Speaker 5: Wait all right, no, you haven't stop right there, stop right there. 00:28:00 Speaker 6: I'm willing to listen to your two and ten argument, and I'm willing to, but I don't. I'm not going to let you do what people do on television, which is they take the most extreme version of the other argument and act like that's the mainstream. Tell me one person that has argued Kentucky's gonna make the playoffs. 00:28:19 Speaker 8: Uh, there's a podcast called Kentucky Bluer than You. 00:28:25 Speaker 6: There's a podcast. Hang on, I'm writing this down because I want to see if you're right. You're telling me there's a podcast called Kentucky is Bluer than You? 00:28:34 Speaker 8: No bluer than you. It's just they're hardcore Kentucky fans. Their whole thing is we're the most Kentucky. 00:28:40 Speaker 6: Fans, Kentucky bluer than you. Okay, and it's a podcast. I'm gonna find this before you're going because I'm putting a name on this. If you're gonna, if you're gonna make the argument Kentucky bluer than You. 00:28:52 Speaker 4: Podcast sounds like a country music song. 00:28:55 Speaker 7: Are not. 00:28:57 Speaker 6: Just for the record, sir, I do not see this on Google. I do not see a Bluer than You podcast. 00:29:05 Speaker 8: I've only seen close to them on TikTok to be honest with you. 00:29:09 Speaker 6: All right, So you're saying, I think, hang on, hang on, hang on, hang on, I'm going to You're you're telling me, I'm not gonna do this right now, but if I get online, there will be a podcast called Bluer than You. 00:29:26 Speaker 5: There should be, yes, I should that it should be it is. 00:29:29 Speaker 4: I mean, what did you see? Maybe it's not a podcast. 00:29:34 Speaker 5: Kentucky, Kentucky bluer than You. 00:29:36 Speaker 6: And so you're saying a lot you're saying, Remember you said, lots of people are saying this, So we're down to bluer than You podcast? 00:29:44 Speaker 5: All right? 00:29:45 Speaker 6: Let me let me just assume for sake of argument, that Bluer than You podcast is saying it. I don't believe they are, but let's say they are. Now tell me why you think we're gonna go to and two. 00:29:55 Speaker 8: I just don't believe that the offense is at a point that would be very good. It's to me like a group of five level offense. I don't believe in our quarterback situation. They kind of hold the ball too long. They're trying to play with Johnny Manziel, but don't have the talent of Johnny Manziel. I don't believe the offensive line had made drives and it needs to be and I think the defense took a step back and it should be decent, but like it's just not gonna be good enough to make up for the pitfalls the offense. 00:30:22 Speaker 6: Lad all right, I appreciate the call. What are the chances, Drew? We finished to intent. 00:30:29 Speaker 2: Very slim? I mean, I'm I'm I'm not the most optimistic person in the fan base, but two and ten is too low of a floor. They're going to be improved from a year ago. We just know how hard the schedule is. They're much better than two wins. 00:30:42 Speaker 6: I think it's highly highly unlikely. But I'll know what's interesting. If we lose Week one, it's on the tape. 00:30:53 Speaker 2: It it spreads down to eight and a half. 00:30:55 Speaker 5: Now down half week one, Shandon, it is down to eight and a half. 00:31:00 Speaker 6: It opened, by the way, at fourteen and a half, then was quickly down to twelve and a half. It is now eight and a half. If you believe in Kentucky like you should load up on that. But it is now eight and a half. 00:31:12 Speaker 5: Shannon against Toledo in our opening leak. 00:31:15 Speaker 3: Yeah, it doesn't worry me at all. I'm not concerned about Toledo. If you can't beat Toledo, it's over. It's over. 00:31:20 Speaker 5: Well, that's what I'm saying this guy. 00:31:23 Speaker 6: I mean, we're kind of mocking his two and ten, but if we lose to Toledo, that is completely on the table, isn't it, Drew. 00:31:34 Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, if they lose to Toledo, I think they win an SEC game too. I don't want to get carried away, and I'm I'm pretty firm on five wins, so I'm still a downer. But I just think two is too low for all the experience they have, and I think they do have a much improved team from a year ago. 00:31:51 Speaker 6: Now I want you to place the bets two parts. Number one, is there a Bluer than You podcast? 00:31:58 Speaker 3: No, not a podcast. There may be somebody's account called that, but not a podcast. 00:32:04 Speaker 5: Drew bluer than You podcast. 00:32:07 Speaker 2: I've never heard of it, and Google has it either, So between the two of us, we have not found it. 00:32:13 Speaker 6: I'm gonna say no. All right, let's say there is a Bluer than You podcast. Do you think someone on there said we're going to the playoff. 00:32:19 Speaker 2: If anyone would predict the playoff, it would be the podcast that claims to be bluer than any other podcasts, So I give them that. I just have a hard time anyone that truly follows the team went through last year. I don't know how you could say the turnaround goes from four wins and you can't win a home game to now you're in the playoff. 00:32:35 Speaker 6: All right, Billy, if you, Billy, if you're not gonna do the jumping picture you're listening right now, I would need you to find and find out if there's a Bluer than You podcast. 00:32:46 Speaker 5: Actually, Mario, that you could do this. 00:32:48 Speaker 6: You're Withdrew Mario, look and see if there's a Bluer than You podcasts, and then see if there is. If they predicted nine and three, I'm going to guess the answer to both of those questions is false. 00:32:59 Speaker 5: But we'll find out. 00:33:00 Speaker 6: Do you know what goes perfect with a corn bread and he fused Seltzer, an insulated koozy to keep it nice and frosty. Folks at Cornbread or hooking, hooking you up with a free koozy On every order over one hundred dollars go to cornbreadhip dot com. Use my pro promo code KSR for twenty percent off. Be right back to Kentucky Sports Radio. Welcome back, Take you Sports Radio. It looks like from all. 00:33:38 Speaker 5: Of my searching, there is no bluer than You podcast he just did. 00:33:43 Speaker 6: I think he did that thing which I think a lot of people do, which is they say they figure out what they want to disagree with, and then they just say a lot of people are saying the other thing. I genuinely believe that's what happened with that Sydney Sweeney thing. It was like a couple of people said it, and then it was a lot of people, and then it became a thing. And it wasn't even really a thing, but people wanting to disagree with it made it a thing. 00:34:12 Speaker 5: And I think this is the same. 00:34:13 Speaker 6: Way I think this dude, except this guy I think created he went so far, Shanon is to create a podcast that does not exist. 00:34:19 Speaker 4: That's right. Yeah, on the flaw too. That's pretty impressive. 00:34:21 Speaker 6: I give him credit, though, I do like Bucky Small who says, I listen to Bluer than You. It's just two dudes claiming one is more depressed than the other one. 00:34:31 Speaker 2: I'm sad. 00:34:32 Speaker 5: Oh no, I'm sad. 00:34:35 Speaker 2: The caller has an opportunity to launch the Blurer than You podcast. 00:34:40 Speaker 6: If that podcast existed, this could have been their moment. But they don't exist. All right, we have to talk for just a second about sports, uh failures here for a minute. I don't know what to say, Drew about the NASCAR guy, oh man, I mean, luckily he's okay, but you know, he got on top of his car to celebrate, got his foot stuck in the netting of the car, fell and knocked himself out and broke his collarbone. Is that as bad as celebration fail as a human being could have. He's lucky the camera didn't catch his. 00:35:19 Speaker 2: Head hitting It just disappears out of the frame. 00:35:23 Speaker 6: He just disappears because I don't think the cameraman thought he was going to fall. That's one of the craziest things I've ever seen, isn't it. 00:35:33 Speaker 2: Since it's up there, I'm actually going to pass to Shannon because I heard him say on the pre show that he spent all weekend just watching it over and over. 00:35:40 Speaker 4: I mean, does it make me a bad person that I watched that and couldn't stop laughing? 00:35:43 Speaker 5: I mean maybe, Well, did you wait to make sure he was okay before you started laughing? 00:35:47 Speaker 4: It's aid broken collar bone, he's alert, he's talking, he's fine. 00:35:51 Speaker 3: He has a broken collar bone. I said, well, I'm gonna laugh at that. I can't help myself. 00:35:55 Speaker 4: He's not dead. 00:35:56 Speaker 3: It could have been a lot worse, though, you know, he could have had a cracked skull or something like that. But you know, a broken collarbone after that nasty fall straight I mean, face planning on. 00:36:04 Speaker 6: The I mean, first of all, could you have a worse like that was his first ever win? Yeah, so can you imagine the joy of the victory? And then you wake up in the hospital. 00:36:17 Speaker 4: Like what happened? 00:36:19 Speaker 5: He's like, what happened? I won? 00:36:21 Speaker 7: Did not? 00:36:21 Speaker 5: Yeah? And the he was like, did somebody beat me up? 00:36:25 Speaker 7: No? 00:36:25 Speaker 4: Man, don't fell, don't turn on your phone. 00:36:30 Speaker 6: You fell from the top of the car. And he's out for like the rest of the season with a broken collarbone. 00:36:36 Speaker 2: I haven't seen it, He's saying. Since since the collarbone news, is he laughing at himself? Or is he gone into hiding? Is he playing it off? 00:36:43 Speaker 5: Well? 00:36:44 Speaker 4: I mean, what else can you do at this point? 00:36:46 Speaker 6: I mean what I mean, that's one of the all time fails that I've ever seen. He got his foot stuck in the net. 00:36:54 Speaker 4: That is the most embarrassing celebration I've ever seen, like in sports history. 00:36:57 Speaker 5: Like I've seen guys, oh there's no one. 00:37:00 Speaker 4: Injured, you know, celebrating, but not to that degree. 00:37:03 Speaker 6: I Mean you've had people like you know, Tara their hamstring or you pull their hamstring or tear their Achilles. 00:37:10 Speaker 2: Like you've seen, he kicks the field goal and celebrates and tears his a. C. L. Bill Grammatic. 00:37:17 Speaker 5: Yeah, but that's bad. But this dude knocked himself out. 00:37:23 Speaker 4: I was watching it on a loop for a good two or three solid minutes. 00:37:27 Speaker 5: All right. 00:37:28 Speaker 6: Then, Uh Mario Mariano Rivera played in the Yankees Legends Game Tours Achilles. And by the way, it wasn't even pitching. It was while he was playing center field. He went to run to catch and there's a video just collapses. They've I feel like they've got to end these old guys playing baseball, because you know they one dude, Sean Casey was playing for the Savannah Bananas Tour's bicep or whatever. But you go to playing the Yankee. To me, the Yankees Legends game, it's just a way to embarrass people. Johnny Damon, poor Johnny Damon. 00:38:08 Speaker 5: Shit, Yeah, did you see? I mean, all he did was set himself up for ridicule. 00:38:14 Speaker 3: I don't want to be remembered like that. If I'm one of these legends, like I want to be remembered for how I was in my prime. There's no way I would even play in one of those games because the way it's the. 00:38:23 Speaker 6: First time they've done one. Yeah, it's the first time they've done one since COVID. I kind of wonder now, I kind of wonder now, Drew if they're done. I mean, Mario Rivera ends up with an ACL injury. Johnny Damon ends up mocked on the internet for looking like he looked in that picture, Like, do you think they just decide. 00:38:39 Speaker 5: We just can't do this anymore? 00:38:42 Speaker 2: They should? And these players they get out there and I'm sure their juices are flowing being back in front of the crowd again. They've missed it and they think those legs or those arms still work the way they used to. And you just get to a point where it's more dangerous than it is fun for you. And Mariano was great sample of that. Johnny Damon just being fat. I felt bad for him. I didn't even he just showed up to wave. 00:39:06 Speaker 5: Fell bad for him. 00:39:07 Speaker 6: He just shows up at the game, probably excited to be there, and then somebody just takes his picture. 00:39:14 Speaker 5: I felt bad. 00:39:15 Speaker 7: I did. 00:39:15 Speaker 5: I felt bad for him. I kind of felt bad for her. What all those people the guy who wins the race falls on his head. 00:39:22 Speaker 2: Johnny Damon's is bad because you know, he was known for being a handsome guy. Now he's in his fifties. 00:39:26 Speaker 3: I mean. 00:39:28 Speaker 6: Like that forever, fifties, Like like he's not supposed to look young forever. It's like we were talking about Pamela Anderson shait like what she's older now, she's not supposed to look like she's twenty anymore. 00:39:40 Speaker 2: Right, I'm still pretty. I think I did have to look at the Johnny Damon picture when I first saw it to make sure it was real. Yeah, I thought that's Johnny Damon. 00:39:47 Speaker 5: Yeah. 00:39:48 Speaker 4: I didn't believe it either. 00:39:49 Speaker 5: He is like fifty some years old. Who's up next? 00:39:52 Speaker 4: Radio Run? 00:39:53 Speaker 5: Radio Run? 00:39:56 Speaker 7: I am tying, thank you, good morning man, Andrew. And who else is there this morning? Oh Shannon of course, speaking of the old guys. Matt. I competed in the Kentucky Senior Track and Field Games at Transylvania once again and Lexington on Saturday. 00:40:19 Speaker 5: Good for you. How many gold medals did you get? 00:40:23 Speaker 7: All right? I was gonna tell you eight. All the sprints, the fifty to one hundred, two hundred, shot put, discus, javelin, long jump, and triple jump, and I won eight gold medals. But I moved into a new category this year, age category of ninety to ninety four. 00:40:44 Speaker 6: Okay, that's amazing. So you won eight gold medals. Bruce Jenner out there? How many people were competing against you? 00:40:54 Speaker 7: Well, I've got to be honest, man. You always asked me that and zero, but I did, I didn't. I did meet one ninety three year old lady who watch Friends. 00:41:10 Speaker 5: Yeah, really, that's cool. 00:41:12 Speaker 8: She was. 00:41:13 Speaker 7: Actually she was a competitor against you. To see her against you, Oh no, no, they separate the lady from the man. 00:41:23 Speaker 9: That Yeah, And you know I wanted to say, though, Mike, I mean in math that winning the medals is nice. 00:41:36 Speaker 7: I won't lie about that. But I enjoy more the opportunity of seeing old friends once a year, knowing that they are stilling good health, they are upright, and some I have known since nineteen ninety seven when I first entered the beginning. 00:41:52 Speaker 6: Well, I always give you a hard time about this, Rod, but the fact that you are still throwing a shot put in your nineties is con is very inspirational. And throwing a discus, I'm an I couldn't even pick up a discus. Uh, So, congratulations on your eight gold medals. I still need someone to step up and compete. I might have to let you go, right, we gotta. 00:42:14 Speaker 5: Go to break. 00:42:15 Speaker 6: I know you, but i'm i'm, I'm. I appreciate all your your you're doing well, and your excitement and and keep it up. 00:42:22 Speaker 7: Okay, okay, keep walking Mike. 00:42:26 Speaker 5: All right, Mike, there you go. That's gonna be my T shirt. Keep walking, Mike, Mike, We're gonna touch you, break right back.
