I don't know about you, man. 00:00:23 Speaker 2: I stay ready. That's how it goes, right, so I don't have to get ready. Its Cavino and Rich Fox Sports Radio. An action packed Taco Tuesday. Let's go wipe it out in the studio like someone's got the play Like, yeah, bro, I don't trust it, man. 00:00:38 Speaker 1: These dirt merchants that work in this building. I mean, you know, Rob. 00:00:42 Speaker 2: Parker, Stu Gott says polio or something was damn you Rob Parker. Rob Parker one of the only guys that talks sense in his building. I'm a big fan of Ron Parker. 00:00:51 Speaker 1: That's right, that's right. We're the same. 00:00:54 Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, me and him were the same couple, Me and Rob same cat. Cavino and Rich. That's this show right here. Thanks for being part of it with Danny g. 00:01:03 Speaker 3: What you've been covering baseball since nineteen eighty seven. 00:01:06 Speaker 1: Ten, I have yes because I'm a huge baseball fan since I was in diapis. Thanks for rocking out with us? Did I do that? Got any cheese? 00:01:14 Speaker 4: Guy? 00:01:15 Speaker 1: Sam? 00:01:16 Speaker 2: We got Dan Bayer, We got you Fox Sports Radio Nation, and we're gonna have some fun today. We're gonna talk some Mendoza. Bro Fernando is in the news. Well, we're certainly not talking about Carlos Mendoza. No, No, he doesn't win tonight. 00:01:29 Speaker 1: Yeah out. 00:01:30 Speaker 2: Can I tell you when I woke up this morning, I do the same thing. I woke up this morning, got some gabba ghul, yeah, and I look at my phone and like, is everybody alive? Okay, everything's good. I always check my phone first to see if anything, you know, bad happened. 00:01:45 Speaker 1: That's usually what I do, like alive okay. 00:01:48 Speaker 2: But as you get older, you have to hold your phone back a little bit, right, like, well, yeah, I know, and I know it's a terrible mindset, but I really, you know, I look at my phone. 00:01:55 Speaker 1: Everybody's alive, all right? 00:01:58 Speaker 2: And then I woke up today and I had the excitement of Newdy magazine day just to see what happens with your Mets tonight. I'm so into this story, bro, It's like watching a train wreck. It's like, are they gonna pull themselves out of it against the Twins tonight? Because if they're gonna win any game, it has to be tonight. Mets are going for twelve losses in a row. They're not going for that, well, they're not aiming for it, but they might be heading towards it. 00:02:23 Speaker 5: Oh. 00:02:24 Speaker 2: Interestingly enough, Listen, we're not even a month into the season, and you could argue that Kevino has already won our thousand dollars bet. So just for like the pure joy of your best buds baseball season, you want them to pull out a little bit. 00:02:35 Speaker 1: No, I mean you can't. 00:02:37 Speaker 2: Well, it's not that I'm ever rooting against your Mets in that way out of curiosity as a sports fan. 00:02:42 Speaker 1: It's like, it's hard to lose eleven games in a row. 00:02:45 Speaker 2: These are professionals we're talking about, with a hell of a lineup and a hell of a payroll. So there's just some serious interest to see what happens tonight. But in the world of sports, you also got your basketball, You got your seventy six year Celtics trailblaz Spurs. You got your Rockets, Lakers. That was the other thought I had too, Like, ooh is kd playing Lakers tonight? Let's go every day I look, I wake up and I'm like, what do I have to look forward to today? 00:03:10 Speaker 6: And then there's a new report saying Austin Reeves is further along in his rehab. 00:03:14 Speaker 1: And you know what I get out of that, Danny G. 00:03:16 Speaker 2: We were just talking about this in the hallway because the previous report was Luca was closer to being ready than Austin Reeves. Now they're saying Reeves is closer to being ready. Then that just means they're both right around the corner. So if the Lakers continue winning, get the full squad bat dude, However, how important to go up two to oh at home for Lebron tonight. So it would have been nice for the Knicks to do that yesterday, but they blew on the Lakers. 00:03:40 Speaker 1: In fact, we're gonna talk NBA today. 00:03:42 Speaker 2: We're gonna have a big poppy stop buy for some baseball trivia. Right, We're gonna talk about your boy, Danny G. Carlos not Carlos, that's my Mendoza. I got the worst Mendoza. You got a Fernando Mendoza. We'll talk some NFL Draft, which is my goodness. Two days away for none. No, we will talk about for though man in fact, two days away from Dandy g doing Abba. Remember we made them, that's right. But right now we're broadcasting live the Fox Sports Radio studios from the mean streets of Los Angeles. And if you miss any of today's show, yesterday's show, any show ever, the podcast goes up, so you could listen to the show wherever you get your podcast. 00:04:20 Speaker 1: We have the best of the week, we have the best of the day. 00:04:22 Speaker 2: It's all there, Covino and Rich and you could watch what you hear right now. You could watch the show anytime on YouTube at Covino and Rich FSR on YouTube. 00:04:31 Speaker 1: I'm gonna pull up the live chat and let the wild lumpist start. 00:04:34 Speaker 2: Well, I do want to start with the NFL Draft and Friendanda Mendoza. But before even that, I guess that's really on deck. I just have one thought that I want to throw out there. You gonna stop the thought. I want to throw it out there. It's dumb, but you know, there's group chats for every kids sports team. Yeah, how would you discribe the weather today in La? A little overcast? You might as felt it felt one little little sprinkle throughout the day. But it's not really drizzly. It's not raining at six one hundreds of an inch fall like like I was not raining. No, like drizzly? 00:05:07 Speaker 1: Dare not? 00:05:09 Speaker 2: You know? You just came from off the road. Think I missed hit my car and that was it? Like like do you we need to use your windshiel wipers like might have been like and then it went away. Yeah, the job rich and I just took a walk to the little quickie mart completely dry. I was gonna say, think you said quickie mark, because we really went to the liquor store, but not to get booze. It's the only place in walking distance. It sounds like a little can of coffee or candy or something. Yeah, but that's my style, dude. I love hitting a little liquor store, buying little treats. That's just how I grew up. My dad would buy liquor and I'd buy candy. You'd like to have to spend five times as much of a retail press. I you're right, I overpay, but that's sort of my scene. I bought sour Patch candies. 00:05:49 Speaker 1: It's like four bucks. 00:05:50 Speaker 2: I go in there, buy an ice cream sandwich, ninety four dollars. Yeah, buy, I buy a bag of chips, some jerky like I love. 00:05:57 Speaker 6: That's where we used to get our Jolly Brancher six Oh Like dude, I had the last one left the liquor store. 00:06:04 Speaker 2: So yeah, dad buying booze and scratch offs and you're getting uh, like you said, frying a chip wich. I bring up the rain. Listen, We're a national show. I'll be brief, but let me explain when I say the rain is a drizzle at minimum, not even a drizzle. I wouldn't even call it a drizzle, Like it's like a drazzle, it's like half a drizzle. You could tell, and I'm tying this into sports. You could tell what parents never played sports as a kid. Is there the parents that hit the group chat? And like, is the game canceled tonight? Is the game canceled? Weenie pants? When I was a kid, it could be pouring and I'm thinking the field will be fine, but the field you will dry off. And honestly, God bless people like you and coach ball game for making a difference working with kids. I think that's so underrated and it's so important. 00:06:55 Speaker 6: To hide when it was sunny and hot, we played. 00:07:00 Speaker 1: We played in the one hundred degrees sweltering heat. 00:07:02 Speaker 2: Having to deal with the weenie parents, especially some of these la weenie parents vomit. 00:07:08 Speaker 1: It's everywhere. You always say that parents. 00:07:12 Speaker 2: But the simple fact, Danny you drove in, did you really think they expected their kids to play when they're wearing sandals and socks to the game. Can you imagine, Danny, a parent calling and I described the weather perfectly, like overcast. 00:07:23 Speaker 1: But not raining. Would you believe someone would say, is the game canceled? 00:07:27 Speaker 3: Like what, Yeah, of course that's great sports weather. 00:07:29 Speaker 1: It's like cool, cloudy. What do you respond? 00:07:32 Speaker 2: I don't know, but I responded sort of rudely, like, yeah, it's not raining unless it's pouring. Show up and a couple of parents hit me up on the side and like thanks for shutting up the weenies. I can't imagine that when I was a kid, and I'm sure when you were a kid, if it was even raining hard the day of a little league game or a football game or something, I'd be like, we're good we're good. It's a weak feeling to be on the fence, like wondering if it's gonna be canceled or not. Like, oh man, that's the weakest feeling ever. But you're not even you're cut from one of two cloths. And we're gonna get to Mendoz in a second. But you're cut from one of two cloths. You're cut from the I want to play. I don't care about the rain, the field will be fine. Or you're a big what's ass? That's like, oh, well, I think the game maybe I. 00:08:15 Speaker 1: Think it will be canceled. 00:08:16 Speaker 2: Get up, get your kid off the team, Gaddy, you know what I mean. You made me think of You've never indicated more of my life that you are not a gamer, that you are not a baller of any sorts in any sport. If you're like the first time with Cloud, you're like, the game's canceled. I think if you're telling me that there's weenie parents out there, trust me, I know it. Don't be a weenie parent. As the reminder, don't be a weani parent. Let's move on to your parents raise weenie kids. 00:08:42 Speaker 6: Let's move on to a weenie take that Rich had against Mendoza until that caller sets you straight. When we were filling in for Dan Patrick remote. 00:08:51 Speaker 2: No, I've had this long, month long stance now that why is Fernanda Mendoza not gonna be in Pittsburgh for the draft? And I I was pretty firm on that he had to be there. 00:09:02 Speaker 1: He should be there. He should be holding up the jersey bro hugging down. Hold on. Actually, I'll quote you this market down, market down. This is his first mithstep, his first mithstep. That's right, you said misstep, the first misstep in his career. 00:09:19 Speaker 2: I was like, you know, he should be there holding up the jersey broke bro hugging Goodell, dapping him up. Was so fixated on he he needs to hug Goddell and we need to see it. And he oh, we need to see him walking in the hallway and going on the hat in the tunnel, hugging Goddele And how he could you know, potentially go home and party with his family. I said, he knows where he's going. It's no mystery. He's not a late first rounder or second rounder where it's like the mystery is still there. Like I could go to Dallas, I could go to the Niners, I could go to the Patriots, I could go anywhere. 00:09:53 Speaker 1: That's not even a question. First pick Raiders. 00:09:55 Speaker 2: I said, the dude could throw the biggest party on planet Earth this weekend with his family. Even when we thought you were misstepping, I remember Danny g specifically, we all sort of chimed in and were like, yeah, but you know, his family's everything. 00:10:07 Speaker 3: Talked about it. 00:10:08 Speaker 2: You know, his mom, you know, wants to make that trip. And then I felt that's definitely a possibility. Would Rich say, oh, they'd a commodator. You don't think they would accommodator? And then I felt like, am I being insensitive? And then Fernando Mendoza is on the Rich Eisend Show and he's asked about not appearing in Pittsburgh. In my goodness, it's gross how perfect this guy is. Take a listen to Fernando Mendoza. 00:10:36 Speaker 7: It's Burgh is a great opportunity. 00:10:38 Speaker 2: And it's a stopping there, stepping there, stopping there already he starts. 00:10:42 Speaker 1: Out by even addressing the great sort of Pittsburgh. The guy's perfect. I hate this already. 00:10:47 Speaker 2: It was very well calculated. That was a perfect way to start it. Rich Is not wrong. 00:10:52 Speaker 8: Itit'sburgh is a great opportunity and it's a great venue. 00:10:56 Speaker 7: I'm really excited to see all the guys. 00:10:58 Speaker 8: Are most of the guys walk across the state age on Thursday night to be a dream for a lot of guys. However, my mom really wanted to do it at home instead of my parents. It's not easier for us, especially with the family situation, and have to hop on a plane the next morning anyways, and for that travel. 00:11:16 Speaker 7: It'd be a lot easier to stay at home. 00:11:18 Speaker 8: I wanted to stay and make the memory with everybody who poured into my football journey. Mentors, coaches, families, friends. 00:11:27 Speaker 7: You want to share that moment with all of them. 00:11:29 Speaker 8: Is going to be the best memory that I can make, rather than limiting it to ten or twelve people in Pittsburgh. 00:11:35 Speaker 7: But it's going to be great. 00:11:36 Speaker 8: And I still want to be the best league partner I can become and make sure that there's how many many cameras that ESPN wants there or whatever they need for me, I will do. However, I think it's very important to start off this journey. 00:11:49 Speaker 7: But everyone who's gotten me to this point. 00:11:51 Speaker 2: But hold on, here's what drives to be crazy. And first of all, my goodness, could he have had a more perfect answer? 00:11:56 Speaker 1: I hate how perfect that answer was. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, sorry, sorry? 00:12:00 Speaker 2: Why is it when when it's Danny g or me or anyone else saying you don't think they're gonna have the cameras there, it might be even more of a heart tugging situation because he's there with his whole family, and what's he gonna have just a few people go. 00:12:12 Speaker 1: With him there. 00:12:13 Speaker 2: He'll have his whole family and everybody there. When we said all that you didn't give a diddley squat, he comes and lays it down perfectly for you. And now you're feeling like you want to back them. So you're now you're moonwalking like you're Michael Jackson. He now you're moonwalking saying, oh man, what an a hole? I feel like? Because he said the perfect thing. I do feel you should feel fair. I do feel like an a hole because you know why, the answer was perfect. And if you're asking me why I take the word of Fernando Mendoza over you two. 00:12:41 Speaker 1: More runs because he said it. It's him. But we gave you all these possible reasons. 00:12:46 Speaker 2: That he made the decision, because the bottom line is, no matter what you think or what I think, it's his decision. I'm sure he has his reasons. Okay, so it's his moment. So then I have a question for you. Sure, Fernando Mendoz. Everything about this guy is likable, There's no denying it. His college journey, the relationship he has with his how Shorty made me feel when we took that picture. I didn't like that. I'm like, why you gotta be all six foot five feeling alive? The story about Miami, how he goes back there to win a national title, him diving in the end zone, putting his body on the line, the speech, putting everything everything else first, putting the city of Pittsburgh first. Uh, the other draft picks watching them, How happy he's gonna feel, always putting his teammates ahead of his name. 00:13:35 Speaker 6: He's going to take care of ESPN and be a good partner to the NFL. 00:13:38 Speaker 1: And I can't wait to be a league ambassador. 00:13:41 Speaker 2: Ah said, he puts all the right things ahead of his selfish you know ways, Okay, Well here's my question, because this is a good one then, because I just say he's selfless. Very rarely does someone seem so unflawed in the world of sports, entertainment, pop culture, politics, you name it, Eventually something will happen. So here's my question to Fox Sports Radio's Nation. 00:14:10 Speaker 1: God. 00:14:11 Speaker 2: Mendoza is perfect until blank? What's going to be the first thing to drop? 00:14:18 Speaker 3: When? 00:14:18 Speaker 2: When is there going to be a story, a narrative? Is it poor play in the field? Is it some training camp squabble? 00:14:26 Speaker 1: Like, what is it? Name the athlete. 00:14:28 Speaker 2: There's not an athlete in the history of sports that has gone unscathed, the great Kobe Bryant, Derek Jeter, Tiger Woods, Tiger Woods, you name it. 00:14:38 Speaker 1: And by the way, who was. 00:14:39 Speaker 2: More polished, who seemed like he'd never get into trouble like more than Tiger Woods Mahomes. Remember at one point his brother, you know, causing kass in the booth, his dad getting arrested, you know, Kelsey. 00:14:50 Speaker 1: Okay, so it could be outside. 00:14:51 Speaker 2: So what is the what's the misstep, what's the the controversy? What's the thing that makes him no longer perfect? Because no one in any sport is Kurt Hennix perfect. 00:15:04 Speaker 1: Derek Jeter now Derek Jeter, remember, oh, he gave girls gift fast gets and it's all fake, I know. 00:15:09 Speaker 2: But what I'm saying this got in trouble for partying late a few times. 00:15:12 Speaker 3: That was about it. 00:15:13 Speaker 2: Well, he's otherwise perfect, blueprint, perfect career. So Mendoza, Fernando Mendoza is perfect until until what. 00:15:23 Speaker 1: There's the question, Fox Sports Radio Nation. 00:15:25 Speaker 6: Until when he gets a stripper pregnant at Experiment Rhino Las Vegas. 00:15:30 Speaker 2: That ain't happening, but you know what, Yeah, it might be magic if he gets caught up with some scandalous woman and we're gonna have the baby shower here at home with my family because we could alight. 00:15:41 Speaker 3: So that's a lot of baby gifts. 00:15:43 Speaker 2: But what happens in the world of Mendoza, because he could be the greatest family man. He could end up winning Super Bowls. I root for the guy because he seems like a great fella. But there'll be something. I'm just curious what that something's gonna be. But when you brought up Patrick Mahomes for example, right, I mean, dude, pretty perfect, stellar career. What brings him down his outside sources, Not necessarily anything he did, but there was there were stories of his brother. Yeah, remember like his wife had a reputation. I'm just saying, maybe someone else in his camp. Recently his dad almost went to Jaal and he was fighting John Robert. Again, shouldn't be a reflection. But I'm just saying that is something. You no, it's something. So I was the gambling accusations with the with the interpreter until then show Heotani was near perfect. 00:16:36 Speaker 3: You're digging up dirt on everybody. But I'm saying about Lebron. 00:16:39 Speaker 2: Lebron uh Lebron cheating accusations, right, and he's. 00:16:43 Speaker 1: All about me. 00:16:44 Speaker 2: Maybe simply comes from him not being ready for the NFL, like he's still even even the great guy to get his reps in, even the late great Kobe Bryant, who was one of the most beloved guys. Accusations and the Denver hotel and cheating and stuff like, there's always every one's got something. And I just wonder what that thing from Mendoza is because right now the kids seems damn near perfect. 00:17:05 Speaker 3: How about Kirk Cousins. 00:17:08 Speaker 1: Oh, he overcharges Cols card. 00:17:12 Speaker 2: That he forgot to tip super cuts. He left the band tip super good. It's not it's like, what does he like? Man? 00:17:20 Speaker 1: That's Great Clips. Where does he go? I always forget it's not sport clips, sports clips. No, it's not sports clips. I always gotta tell them. 00:17:27 Speaker 2: Oh god, I feel like such a jerk because I'm not trying to sound pretentious, but my brother would go to sports Clips. 00:17:32 Speaker 1: I'm like, is that a good place to get your haircut? And he's like, I love it. He goes, I get the m v P. He goes, I get the m v P. 00:17:40 Speaker 3: Great Clips. 00:17:41 Speaker 1: Yeah, Great Clips is where Cousins goes. 00:17:44 Speaker 2: And uh yeah, well you know what, your your brother has the MVP sort of look about him, the m. 00:17:49 Speaker 1: V P cut Most Valuable Pompador. 00:17:52 Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, all right, So where's his first misstep? Is it on the field? Is it how he handles the press? Is it an outside source, like I don't know, like a like a drunk uncle storms the field or something. 00:18:05 Speaker 1: You know, where's the ruggle? 00:18:09 Speaker 2: It's me Roberto, Roberto. You know, he tackles a teammate. So what's the first controversy surrounding Fernando? Is it like speculation on maybe he's just not ready, the game's moving too fast, an old unhidden like social media post that's like ooh and again, Richard, he said this, heah like an old tweet or something. Nobody's rooting for this. But it's normal and natural to think that something is going to be speculated upon in his career. 00:18:43 Speaker 1: That's anything. It's normal. 00:18:44 Speaker 2: He's a high profile guy. They're going to find something to criticize him about. Dude up until I mean, where is he untouchable? But I'm saying even the I'm just saying it because he does seem like really such a great. 00:18:57 Speaker 1: Is he bulletproof? 00:18:58 Speaker 2: Just just because of his demeanor, Like it almost warrants like leave him alone, you know. I mean even even a guy that we met a couple of years ago, and I'll stick up for him because I've always felt like he. 00:19:08 Speaker 1: Was great to us at least. 00:19:09 Speaker 2: But like pookin the coup, is in some type of rehab now, right, Like yeah, when it never predicted that there. 00:19:15 Speaker 3: He's out, he's out now he's at Ota. 00:19:17 Speaker 2: But based on everyone spoke about him, Everyone talked about him, his teammates to Dana White, because he grew up like as a. 00:19:25 Speaker 1: Friend of Dana White's family. 00:19:26 Speaker 2: Always a good kid, always laughs, always great in the in the locker room, great teammate, his relationship with Cooper cup Nobody saw that coming. Michael Jordan, he avoided up because it was no social media. But the gambling accusations some stuff we may never know. And now he's now he's choking his friends. 00:19:44 Speaker 7: You know. 00:19:44 Speaker 2: But I really really think that Fernanda wind Does such a special kid. 00:19:48 Speaker 1: He's such a special. 00:19:50 Speaker 2: Guy, and his personality is so unique because he's so genuine that he almost, uh, he almost put up a force field of kindness where it's kind of hard to want to pick on that guy. What if it's something really like minuscule, like he's like in order to be a true raider, I went with the Davis haircut. 00:20:06 Speaker 1: And he got the same, like something dumb like what is that? 00:20:11 Speaker 9: I don't know? 00:20:11 Speaker 2: Yeah, where's his first misstep? Because he even responded to this controversy perfectly? 00:20:19 Speaker 1: Man, what you think it is? 00:20:20 Speaker 2: He's perfect until let's go to the phones, Danny g Who do we got? Let's start in Georgia with Matt Georgia two days away from the draft. Mendoza is perfect until what. 00:20:29 Speaker 4: He's perfect until he mates the wrong girl in Las Vegas, and that stuff tends. 00:20:35 Speaker 9: To get guys in a little bit of trouble one way or another. 00:20:38 Speaker 3: But I will say. 00:20:39 Speaker 9: This to Ben in the spotlight. 00:20:41 Speaker 4: Since he was sixteen, Lebron's almost sterling clean. 00:20:45 Speaker 2: I agree, I'm a big Lebron guy. For a minute, I hated him on Miami like we all did, because he was like, well not one, but two, not three, when he was all arrogant Lebron. But since then I've always said Lebron, he's a great dad. But I've been on the microscope, been under the mic chroscope. 00:21:00 Speaker 1: Getting on him for being over the confident. 00:21:03 Speaker 6: Well, and there's been social media posts, there's been things like world topics and things like that that people haven't liked what he said about that. But as far as like being arrested or being in trouble or scandals, he's avoided. 00:21:17 Speaker 2: That doesn't need to be crime dating greed. I'm just saying in general, the half the NBA fans love him, half hate a me Bron and this, And I'm saying I don't know anyone that dislikes Frenando Mendoz Like I haven't bumped into anyone that's like fat guy. Yeah, it's almost as if until he starts playing and something happens like he's still like immune. 00:21:36 Speaker 1: For some reason. 00:21:37 Speaker 2: I think he's such a special guy because of how he carries himself. 00:21:41 Speaker 6: Yeah, he's really likable. That he's that humble, and the fact he got punched in the mouth by a couple of really good defenses and then played even better in those games. That's what kind of drew me to him, because you see some players, especially young players, will cower a little bit when they start to bleed or get hit. This guy was one of those athletes where it's like, come on, get me more, and then he really gets into the game. 00:22:02 Speaker 2: Wait, so Rich, are you admitting you were I would top off straight up, Phonsie right now. 00:22:07 Speaker 1: I was wrong, you know, being with his family for the draft. I'm not. 00:22:13 Speaker 2: I'm not too arrogant to say I'm never wrong. You know what, It seems like he's got it all figured out. 00:22:19 Speaker 1: And he came down to his mom too, which we speculated. 00:22:21 Speaker 6: Who else we got Danny another Matt this one in Pennsylvania. 00:22:24 Speaker 2: Hey, no Pa met Fernando. Man does his perfect thing. 00:22:29 Speaker 1: Geez. 00:22:30 Speaker 4: The comparison with Fernando's personality seems to be a lot like Russell Wilson. And the only thing I could possibly see. Is it seems like him being come sort of fake that personality wise, a fake appearance that Russell Wilson. 00:22:46 Speaker 2: I okay, if all of a sudden he gets in the Raiders locker room and everything and all of a sudden teammates his murmurings of like yeah, fullL gazy, like this guy's full of s like he like I don't buy Like. 00:22:55 Speaker 3: I think we would have heard some of that from the from from college. 00:22:59 Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't get that vibe though, Like Russell Wilson gives me like an Alex Rodriguez vibe right where they try too hard and it feels calculated and it's not from a malicious place, but there's something off about it, right, this dude feels genuine, and I think that's what makes it different. 00:23:17 Speaker 3: Yeah, like kind of nerdy, right, just like his personality. 00:23:20 Speaker 2: Like way nerdy, yeah for real, but in the in the sweetest way and in a way where you respect it because you know he's no punk, right, like we've seen it. He's got a competitive heart and he's he's not soft, yeah, but he is like sweet and nerdy in his way. 00:23:37 Speaker 1: He's perfect until. 00:23:38 Speaker 3: When let's go to Ohio Josh, what's up? 00:23:41 Speaker 1: Josh? 00:23:42 Speaker 4: Hey, what do you think? Guys start out comparing the grace. But I'm gonna say it's on the field. Who's the last good Raiders quarterback rich Gannon? That's the answer. You're struggling. Yeah, on the field. He played in the Indiana system, which is the best system. I'm a highest State fan. Here's my thing is he's had that highsman year in that system. If it's not on the field, none of that matters. 00:24:06 Speaker 2: So if you're saying it's gonna it's gonna be on the field, he's gonna get opportunity, stink it up, and all of a sudden we all turn on him like overrated. This guy stinks I got one? What if there's a thanks for the call man, there's no wrong answers. This is just a guess and nobody's rooting against him. We're just saying there's got to be some criticism. Maybe he missteps because he's such a like a holy boy, like such a good boy. Maybe he miss steps and like backhanded, in a backhanded way, insults the party vibes of Las Vegas and it rubs the fans the wrong way, you know, because he's so good and he's so it's. 00:24:42 Speaker 3: Yours, kind of like Ned Flanders. 00:24:44 Speaker 1: Yeah, and he. 00:24:44 Speaker 2: Says something a little off color where it doesn't it doesn't coincide with the party vibes of Vegas, and it rubs the fans the wrong way, and he and we overspeculate on it, like, man, he's sort of like he's sort of a diss in his own fans, Like maybe that's the kind maybe you know what, let's take all your feet up. 00:25:02 Speaker 3: Yeah, one last quick call down. I know Kyle can't hold Missouri. What's up? What's up? Man? 00:25:07 Speaker 1: Hey? 00:25:08 Speaker 4: As a chief fan, it makes me sick. 00:25:09 Speaker 9: But Fernando Mendoza is perfect until he big times the Capino and Rich show and goes on to Colin Cowhard. 00:25:17 Speaker 3: Yeah. 00:25:17 Speaker 1: I mean some argue, some argue, that's the only misstep he's taken so far. And then he apologized to us. 00:25:22 Speaker 3: He was so nice to us on stage. 00:25:24 Speaker 1: Yeah, we didn't blame him, We blamed Colin. Later on we'll do some baseball trivia as Rich as Mets get ready to lose twelve in a row? Time to tonight to night. Man, you bet at all in the Mets tonight. But I'm not telling you what to do. 00:29:09 Speaker 1: I'm just saying. 00:29:09 Speaker 2: It's like, you know, you got Nolan McClain pitching against the Twins worst starter and the Mets are home. 00:29:15 Speaker 1: I mean he can't. Can you lose twelve in a row? I think he can? 00:29:17 Speaker 2: Maybe, I mean you can, But we're talking Fernando Mendozo because we got not we Rich got on him a little bit, but the world also got on him too. When they first heard his announcement of not making the draft, he said he was staying home instead of going to Pittsburgh, and man, people were quick to jump to this his first misstep, you said. Then he gave the perfect answer. He really did, and the perfect answer. He acknowledged everybody else, He acknowledged the city. He explained that it's tough on his family. He explained how grateful he is and how he's willing to do everything to make it still a moment for the viewers. Yeah, well, you know what, if you missed it real quick, I was saying, here's Fernando on the rich Agan Shell. 00:29:59 Speaker 8: It's burg a great opportunity, and it's a great venue, and I'm really excited to see all the guys or most of the guys walk across the stage on Thursday night. 00:30:09 Speaker 7: To be a dream for a lot of guys. 00:30:11 Speaker 8: However, my mom really wanted to do it at home instead of my parents. 00:30:15 Speaker 7: It's a lot. 00:30:16 Speaker 8: Easier for us, especially with the family situation and have to hop on a plane the next morning anyways, and for that travel, it'd be a lot easier to stay at home. I wanted to stay and make the memory with everybody who poured into my football journey, mentors, coaches, families, friends. 00:30:34 Speaker 7: You want to share that moment with all of them. 00:30:37 Speaker 8: Is going to be the best memory that I can make, rather than limiting it to. 00:30:41 Speaker 7: Ten or twelve people in Pittsburgh. 00:30:42 Speaker 8: But it's going to be great, and I still want to be the best league partner I can become and make sure that there's how many many cameras at ESPN wants there or whatever they need for me, I will do. However, I think it's very important to start off this journey that everyone who's gotten me to this point he's perfect. 00:31:01 Speaker 2: The guy's perfect, you know, if I want to overspeculate, my only my only criticism of that answer, which was beautiful, is that he did put most of it on his mom instead of taking like his own ownership of it first, like he could have said in vice versa order you know, I just want to spend it with my family and and and the people that built me, all my coaches, my mentors, blah blah blah, and you know, it's really tough with my mom to travel. He made it more about his mom and then about that. But now you're just nitpicked. So now I think it's that, But I'm just you're absolutely right. I'm just nippicking because it's hard to criticize perfection because he's such a likable guy. So the question is everybody loves Fernanda Mendoza. He's perfect until blank, and I want to hear what you guys think. Let's go Danny, who do we have? 00:31:52 Speaker 3: All right? Quickly, let's jump into more calls Jerome and Charleston. 00:31:55 Speaker 1: What's up Jerome? 00:31:57 Speaker 4: Hey, I got some I got some durda buck being or a rich did a new Joy kill off Fox? 00:32:03 Speaker 9: Okay? 00:32:04 Speaker 3: And you read that guy's mama alone? 00:32:06 Speaker 2: Okay? 00:32:07 Speaker 3: You know if you pick on that guy's mama, I'll kick your ast. 00:32:10 Speaker 1: Oh damn, how is that? How are we? Huh? 00:32:13 Speaker 5: What is that? 00:32:14 Speaker 1: The n Joy Taylor of fuck? I don't know? I don't know. 00:32:18 Speaker 3: All right, let's go to Maine. 00:32:19 Speaker 1: John, are showing your cheeks on the beach? But you know what, but you know what you're doing? A TV show? What do you doing? 00:32:24 Speaker 2: I will say this, I'm not sure anyone really said the obvious, and the obvious is it's sports, right, So if he doesn't perform to our liking, that's really Yeah. 00:32:33 Speaker 6: There was one caller who said, if he can't run a good offensive system on the field, right. 00:32:38 Speaker 1: If he's not delivering, I don't know if he's immune to that. 00:32:41 Speaker 6: But he's also a youngster, so people will give him a season or two I think before they. 00:32:44 Speaker 3: Start boo bird in him. 00:32:45 Speaker 1: We'll see. 00:32:46 Speaker 3: All right, let's go to Maine. John is in the house, Maine. 00:32:48 Speaker 1: Fernando's perfect until. 00:32:52 Speaker 9: I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with you again. But uh, I think he reminds me, no, please, don't cut me off real quick. But he reminds me of a present day lou Gereg. I mean lou Gerregg. 00:33:08 Speaker 2: Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. I want to guess. I'm not going to cut you off. You could go back. How would you compare, for Nanda Mindoza to lou Geregg. I want to guess how he could compare those two people. 00:33:20 Speaker 12: Because his mom got sick. He lou Geregg was supposed to be an engineer, and his mom got sick and she didn't want him playing baseball, and he signed with the Yankees and had a great career, and even people that hated the Yankees could not hate lou Gereg. 00:33:42 Speaker 1: All right, Well then that's a good analogy right there. Not that bad. 00:33:44 Speaker 2: But because everybody sort of loved and rooted for lou Gereg, I like it. So he's saying no one will ever hate him. All right, you know what, Let's go to DV They'll take the rest of your feedback, Dan Buyer. What's going on, my friends? 00:33:55 Speaker 13: A lot going on in the world of sports, and it started today when Mike Vrabel finally spoke to the media, making his first public comments since photos of him and reporter Diana Rassini were published in The New York Post two weeks ago. 00:34:06 Speaker 6: You know, I've had some difficult conversations with people that I care about, with my family, the organization, the coaches, the players. 00:34:12 Speaker 12: Those have been positive and productive. 00:34:14 Speaker 13: Rabel spoke of his players yesterday, explaining you wanted to talk to his team first before addressing the matter publicly. Former Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin joining NBC to be a part of their studio team for Football Night in America. Billy Donovan stepped down as the Bulls head coach today after six seasons. Three game twos tonight in the NBA Playoffs, including the Rockets and Lakers at ten thirty Eastern time from LA. Rockets forward Kevin Durant is listed as questionable. ESPN reports that Austin Reeves is further along in his rehab from his injury than Luka Donciciz Florida forward Thomas Hawks returning to Gainesville for his senior season. Some transfer news in college hoops, Wisconsin transferred John Blackwell is headed to Duke St. Mary's transfer Paulius Moroscus is following Randy Bennett to Arizona State. Churchill Downs Incorporated has purchased the Preakness Stakes for eighty five million dollars, as the company now owns the first two legs of horse racing's Triple Crowd and the Mets have confirmed the report from The New York Post earlier today. One Soda will be activated tomorrow from his calf injury and be available on Wednesday for the Mets. 00:35:15 Speaker 1: So so so No, I'm pumped for that. 00:35:18 Speaker 2: I mean, how could I not be win today anything that changed the dynamic that's going on. Win today with McClean, you get Soda tomorrow. Mets are gonna pop off eight of the next ten. If they do that, like danyg said yesterday, if they were in five in a row, that's the only way they can come back from this. 00:35:34 Speaker 1: Eight of the last time would be great, and it's not impossible. 00:35:38 Speaker 2: When I told you their schedule is the Twins, the Rockies, like the Nationals, the Rockies again. 00:35:44 Speaker 13: The survivor pool that I'm in that rich forgot to log into in Cavino for the second time. Forgot to make a pick this week. 00:35:50 Speaker 1: However, I emailed the commissioner and I'll explain it. 00:35:54 Speaker 3: Okay, hain't all right? 00:35:56 Speaker 13: Most popular pick this week was the Mets, maybe because of how Die. So if you're eight out of ten happens, I think a lot of people aren't survivor pool will be happy. 00:36:04 Speaker 2: I was gonna say, because their schedules meeger if they lose, if they have a losing week dB against the Twins, Rockies and Nationals at home, then then like, what do you do? 00:36:18 Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know what you do. I have no answer for that. Shave your head or something. Who knows? 00:36:24 Speaker 2: All right, Well, thank you dB, great update, and coming up we are going to talk about the NBA playoffs. I think there could be some possible at least updates a little bit on Austin Reeves and Luca, like could Lebron get through this series and then are they back? Like, well, we'll talk to NBA playoffs and of course big Poppy trivia coming up. And again next hour Big Be Trivia. He has baseball trivia all his time. Right now for our tirech. Play of the day was c. J. McCollum putting on a show last night. In the fourth quarter. 00:38:13 Speaker 14: Dicks have the ball, they drive left sides, bridges, no good. Next the game and they Atlanta Hawks have won the game. They Atlanta Hawks have even this series at one game a piece. That I probable victory. The Hawks were down all night. They couldn't rebound, they couldn't shoot, and all of a sudden they came in here and they quieted the loudmouth fans in New York. 00:38:33 Speaker 1: They shut them up. 00:38:34 Speaker 2: Wow, call him loudmouth fans in the archives if you see j. But yeah, they were down fourteen points. The Knicks blew it and McCollum stepped up. You know who stepped down, Carl Anthony Towns. He fizzled in the fourth quarter like he was strong the whole game until the very end. I don't know if he was gassed or what. It's like a cell phone battery was done. Yeah, but the Hawks come all the way back to win, and that calls courtesy of the Smack Talk in ninety two to nine the Game Hawks radio network. 00:39:04 Speaker 1: That's our tireract play of the day. 00:39:05 Speaker 2: And for forty years, Tirerack's been helping customers you know this find the right tires for how, what and where they drive ship fast and free back by free Road, has a protection, convenient installation options like mobile tire installation, tirerac dot com the way tire buying should be. And I don't know anyone with worse luck with tires than Steve Cavino. He's been relying on Tireraq. You know again, I have bad tire karma. I don't know what I did the tire side tire both. Yeah, I had get a pothole, a pothole and ripped one tire. This is all in one day. And then I hit a curb later that day and scrape my rim and scraping your rim aside from like real problems and illness, and it might be one of the worst. 00:39:47 Speaker 3: It's one of the worst sounds. 00:39:49 Speaker 1: Yeah no, and then you cringe to see the damage. You're like, go not too I felt it in my nether reach. I don't know what. I don't want to. 00:39:59 Speaker 2: Appear sexist, but you know how many times I've seen a mom scratch a rim at school drop off in the morning and I'm like, like, you'll just be there like dropping your kid of here, kind of like, oh, that's gonna be a fight when she gets home. But hey, tyreck play the day and let's actually talk basketball for a second, if that's cool. 00:40:16 Speaker 1: With you guys. 00:40:18 Speaker 2: Well, yeah, man, the Hawks with the big comeback, you know what, you let them back in. You showed them or you let them believe that they have a chance now because it looked like the Knicks were gonna beat them convincingly yesterday. So the Hawks, the Calves, the Timberwolves all had a big night. And I'm pretty pumped tonight to see what the Lakers do. 00:40:35 Speaker 3: Danny. 00:40:35 Speaker 1: I'm really excited about the possibilities. 00:40:37 Speaker 6: Of yeah, if they can go coming back nothing and yeah and hopefully get a full squad back. But the game that stood out to me was the late game because most of the country was asleep. It's like one point thirty in the morning on the East Side, and the Nuggets couldn't hold onto their big lead at one point that had a nineteen point lead, and the Wolves came storming back all the way back and won that game. That was even more mean, right, Yeah, that was even more wild than the Knicks collapsing. 00:41:05 Speaker 2: Interestingly enough, do you feel like the Nuggets had done that to everyone else over the last handful of years? Like how many times have the Nuggets been down? And you're like, oh, you can never be up too much on the Nuggets, And they were the ones that script was slipped a little bit, so NBI playoffs bringing it so far, I do look forward to seeing what happens with your Lakers, Danny g because it's really a matter of like it happens in every sport, right, NFL, major League Baseball, Like can you weather the storm and survive until you get your stars back? And if Lebron could really just like keep this series going and get to the next round, and if you could get Luca and Austin Reese back, you could compete. If you make it to the final four of the Western Conference, I would say, if Lebron could continue being that facilitator that he's shown he could be in the past few games, if you can keep that going. 00:41:56 Speaker 6: I was so impressed with Ruey and Luke Kinnard, those Marcus Smart the role players. We talked about them last week. We said they're going to have to have the games of their lives in the definitely the games of their season to keep the Lakers afloat. 00:42:09 Speaker 2: And yeah, thirteen assists last game, if he's somewhere around that in this game and they come through the same way, if I'm if I'm looking at it correctly or thinking correctly, wouldn't the semifinals be San Antonio and Denver if that goes If it goes that way, right, and it would be Lakers against OKC, And that would be ridiculous. 00:42:29 Speaker 1: So that's what I'm rooting for. I don't know about you. 00:42:31 Speaker 2: We got more CNR, We'll talk some more NBA, and of course big poppy trivia
