Now here's Matt Jones order back. 00:01:05 Speaker 4: I re number two Kentucky Sports Radio. 00:01:07 Speaker 5: If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven text machine seven seven two seven seven four five two five four. I just want to thank you for all the messages people are sending that about Ryan. I'm gonna pass him on UH to uh his girlfriend, which will make sure that that he gets them. But lots of very kind comments, and you know, I just want to I'll just say this and then drop it. He I mean, he's he's okay, but it's also you know, it's a thing. So that's why I want everybody to be thinking about him and pray for him and and you know, show that chaos are family love. Now, Mario said he didn't know to boggin. No, you had never heard that word before, So that's what I'm saying. I thought everybody knew, but are you ready to hear Shannon Drew mountain words. 00:01:58 Speaker 4: I thought about heard all of them. 00:02:01 Speaker 5: I'm sure you all have heard all these, but I think sometimes they're so a part of the way we talk that we don't realize that they're not actual words that other people use. And I'm using words to some extent, they're not just mispronunciations. So like I was gonna say holler, but holler is actually just a mispronunciation of hollow, right, a hollow in the mountain, and we. 00:02:27 Speaker 4: Just say holler. 00:02:28 Speaker 5: So these are ones that through mispronunciations or whatever, we just said something new, all right. 00:02:34 Speaker 4: Reckon. 00:02:36 Speaker 6: Oh yeah, when you brought this up, reckon was the first word that came to my mind. 00:02:41 Speaker 5: Like, I reckon, I'm going to the store. There's no equivalent of the word reckon, you know. 00:02:47 Speaker 7: I think, but reckon is not a misprint. 00:02:52 Speaker 5: We just decided that the word reckon meant I think I'm going. It's so I reckon. This one's good wallering. He's out there wallering in the mud. 00:03:06 Speaker 6: I like that. You're turning up your own twang a little bit too well. 00:03:09 Speaker 5: I mean, I need people to understand how they how they say he's out there wallering in the mud. 00:03:14 Speaker 4: There's no watering. 00:03:16 Speaker 6: Somebody just that. 00:03:17 Speaker 4: But but we know what that means. It means to it means. 00:03:22 Speaker 6: To waller wall around occasionally. 00:03:25 Speaker 4: Okay. Now, some people have heard yuns. 00:03:29 Speaker 5: That's gotten some attention because of McAfee, because they say yuns or whatever in Pittsburgh, but a lot in the mountains. We do a plural version of that is, so yuns is almost singular, but. 00:03:49 Speaker 6: It's when you're talking to a group that makes sense. 00:03:53 Speaker 5: Yuns is need to clean this place up. So we actually made a country word, even more country all right? Uh now, Jeff Foxworthy did this one? 00:04:04 Speaker 4: Jeet? 00:04:06 Speaker 6: Oh, I think, can I guess? Is it yet? Did you eat yet yet? 00:04:11 Speaker 4: Is a word? 00:04:12 Speaker 5: But we take did you eat and just say Jeet, Jeet, something in the fridge. Marile's looking at me like I'm from the moon, but you just go Jeet. 00:04:25 Speaker 4: He's just looking at you. Yesterday. Another one Yonder. 00:04:29 Speaker 6: Oh you be on the list over Yonder? Where'd you hit that golf ball? 00:04:35 Speaker 4: Yonder Yonder? 00:04:37 Speaker 5: I reckon, I'll go get it because it's over young. Not a word anywhere else. Okay, this one has become more common, but I do think it got started in the mountains. A chaw like like a big piece of just make sure, because you remember the famous. 00:04:57 Speaker 4: Gee you ch can't. I wish you all could see Mario's face. 00:05:03 Speaker 5: When you put it. When you put tobacco in, you call it a chaw. And there was a famous video in a Kentucky game one time where guys sitting right behind the camera put a big chaw in and the guy made a TikTok where he goes, get. 00:05:18 Speaker 4: You chawl in their ball. You got that one, and I know you somewhere somewhere. 00:05:23 Speaker 7: I got so many of those now I can't find them. 00:05:25 Speaker 4: That question, I love it. 00:05:26 Speaker 5: I have one that I really hope now again a miss uh a mispronunciation. 00:05:33 Speaker 4: But in the mountains, wasp are just waspers. 00:05:38 Speaker 3: Yeahs ago Waspers. 00:05:41 Speaker 5: They're Waspers. They're not and it's their past hints. Is it like a super wasper. It's just a regular was Waspers. 00:05:51 Speaker 8: They're not. 00:05:51 Speaker 4: That's just what they are. Okay. 00:05:55 Speaker 6: A fixing this is the one I was waiting for. 00:05:59 Speaker 4: I'm a fixing the I'm fixing to do it. 00:06:01 Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm fixings. 00:06:04 Speaker 4: But actually I. 00:06:05 Speaker 5: Think it's even it's not just fixing, it's I'm a fixing. I'm fixing to. 00:06:10 Speaker 6: Do instead of I'm about to do. 00:06:12 Speaker 5: This about to because I think they add because it's like about so fixing that. 00:06:17 Speaker 6: That and Yonder were the first two that came to my mind when you brought this. 00:06:21 Speaker 4: When are you going to do this directly? 00:06:25 Speaker 7: Directly? 00:06:26 Speaker 4: Directly I'm gonna do it directly. 00:06:29 Speaker 5: I'm not gonna do it right now, but I'm gonna do it relatively soon. 00:06:34 Speaker 4: I'm gonna do it directly. Have you ever heard that? I have? 00:06:39 Speaker 6: And most of our listeners are probably thinking these aren't we. 00:06:42 Speaker 4: Most of me, but we're a Kentucky show. 00:06:44 Speaker 5: But if I were to do this on as a matter of fact, I may do this on the ESP I was thinking about doing this with Myron Sunday because a lot. 00:06:51 Speaker 4: Of you all like you know these words. But when I look at Myron and go I'm gonna do it directly, he's gonna look at me like I'm. 00:06:58 Speaker 6: Most of us use these almost. 00:07:00 Speaker 4: And then finally plum, he's plumb scared. 00:07:07 Speaker 5: I don't really know totally what the definition of plum is. Is it a lot like I would say, I could see how you would go, well, he's plumb crazy. 00:07:20 Speaker 4: But what is that? What are we saying? 00:07:21 Speaker 5: And you say somebody's plum without doubt, without a doubt. 00:07:26 Speaker 4: He's plumb nuts. 00:07:30 Speaker 6: Have you heard the uh? I think this is from Foxworthy? The mayonnaise one? 00:07:34 Speaker 4: What was that? 00:07:35 Speaker 9: Like? 00:07:35 Speaker 6: Most people think of mayonnaise you put on your sandwich, But we say, like mayonnaise, a lot of people over there make crowd. 00:07:40 Speaker 5: Or yeah, but again mayonnaise a lot of people. That's kind of though, just a mispronunciation. I liked that in these in these character cases, we literally just created the word from scratch, and no one else really knows what it is. 00:07:57 Speaker 4: So I so reckon. 00:07:59 Speaker 6: Waller and fiction two is my favorite fit of fixing two. 00:08:03 Speaker 5: Yens's Jeet Yonder yaw directly plum oh. 00:08:11 Speaker 4: He says sorry, He says, I thought he said y'all. 00:08:15 Speaker 6: I mean y'all is a big one too. Not a lot of people saying y'all outside of the seat. That's true, but you're combining you all. But we've made it a word. 00:08:22 Speaker 4: And then wasper. 00:08:23 Speaker 5: I do really like wasper because there's no reason to make an animal past tense. 00:08:29 Speaker 4: You don't go pigger. 00:08:32 Speaker 6: Right on that. We're also the only state that adds s to a lot of stuff like Kroger's, Like I'm going to Krogers. You're not going to multiple Krogers. You're going to Kroger. But Roger's is a good one. 00:08:42 Speaker 5: And and but we don't do that for a lot of others do We don't go to Targets. 00:08:46 Speaker 6: No, but Kroger's. But we do go to Krogers. 00:08:49 Speaker 5: Why do you think we say Krogers, because do we don't really say Walmart's. 00:08:53 Speaker 6: No, Sure, there's another one. Kroger can't be the only one. 00:08:55 Speaker 3: Like somebody's name, you know, I guess so, like what we do it with Myers, It's not it's Meyer. 00:09:01 Speaker 6: Yeah, is Meyer? 00:09:02 Speaker 4: Not my Myers? 00:09:03 Speaker 6: Not Myers, it's only one. 00:09:05 Speaker 7: Of We always say Myers because it sounds like somebody. 00:09:07 Speaker 4: I always thought it was Myers. 00:09:09 Speaker 7: You look at the name. It's just Meyer on the store. 00:09:12 Speaker 4: Okay. 00:09:12 Speaker 6: If you say you're going to Myers, you're going to both locations. 00:09:15 Speaker 5: Yeah, all right, well A five nine two eight oh twenty two, you can do. The text machine is seven seven two seven seven four five two five four. 00:09:22 Speaker 4: I feel like I. 00:09:23 Speaker 5: Did a pretty good uh, a pretty good list of the ones that I could think of, But you did, And we'll get other answers directly. 00:09:34 Speaker 4: Uh. 00:09:35 Speaker 6: I bet your text machine is gonna light up with suggestions on this one. 00:09:38 Speaker 4: Yeah, I hope. So who's up next? 00:09:40 Speaker 7: Peter? 00:09:41 Speaker 4: Peter? 00:09:41 Speaker 10: Go ahead, Peter, Hey, Matt, I didn't know what it was due Uh, Drew or Shannon, But I've grown tomatoes for fifty years. I used to create a homemade uh squirrel death ray or death pray that. 00:10:02 Speaker 4: Hang on a second. 00:10:03 Speaker 5: You create a homemade squirrel death ray spray spray? 00:10:08 Speaker 10: Okay, death spray? 00:10:09 Speaker 6: Where do I buy it? 00:10:10 Speaker 10: Death spray? And it worked. But I learned something last year that when tomatoes curves stored of orange, they're in what's called the breaker stage and they're not getting any more nutrients from the vines. So pick them then, don't let them sit there until they turn red, when the squirrels would come and get them. 00:10:33 Speaker 6: All right, good to know, and send me this death spray. I want to use that and then punch it in the face. 00:10:38 Speaker 5: Appreciate, realize that. So take them when they're orange, not when they're red. Here's this is a good one. First one I seek come in here, somebody will say something is then all get out? Oh yeah, I've heard so like you're funnier noll get out? What's crazier'n'll get out? It's almost like plump. It's like, but what is that? 00:10:59 Speaker 4: But if you break it down, what does that mean? 00:11:02 Speaker 7: Funny? 00:11:04 Speaker 5: He's I know, but like all get out that doesn't. Did they get to all get out? He's funnier and all get out. 00:11:13 Speaker 6: I have no idea when you really break these apart. They don't make any sense, say, but they're pretty common around here. 00:11:18 Speaker 5: They rationally don't make anything. I gotta write that one down from ESPN. All get out? All right, who's next? 00:11:24 Speaker 4: Ship? 00:11:25 Speaker 7: Well, since you're being nice, let's test this with Bob and James Town. 00:11:28 Speaker 4: Oh, here we go. 00:11:30 Speaker 5: Welcome to the show, Bob and Jamestown. How are you my friend? 00:11:38 Speaker 4: Oh? Unfortunately the phone. 00:11:39 Speaker 7: He doesn't even know how to react, Bob. 00:11:43 Speaker 6: He's fixing the call back. 00:11:45 Speaker 4: Bob. Please welcome back to the show. Whenever you get a moment chance. 00:11:49 Speaker 7: He's not saying anything. 00:11:51 Speaker 4: Who's next? Michael? Go ahead? Michael? 00:11:55 Speaker 11: Hey, how about banger? 00:11:58 Speaker 4: Banger? Like? I don't know what you mean? What is. 00:12:07 Speaker 7: Michael? 00:12:09 Speaker 4: All right? Maybe we need to take a break up the. 00:12:11 Speaker 5: Cause we're not exactly hitting Yeah, we're not hitting a thousand. I'm gonna switch gears then for just a second. 00:12:22 Speaker 4: The I don't know if you've seen. 00:12:25 Speaker 5: But they they now have a new version of the legislation that they want to uh manage college athletics. They've done the Score Act, you know, a new Here's what I want to point out. I'm not gonna go through all the details because all the details are probably not going to be the law. But here's what I'm noticing developing on this legislation in college athletics. They are becoming two distinct sides, the SEC and the Big Ten versus the AC in the Big Twelve. 00:13:01 Speaker 4: All Right, the ACC in the Big Twelve. 00:13:04 Speaker 5: What they want is they want to make all the TV rights go together. Okay, the SEC in the Big Ten want to sell them individually. And what I've noticed, Drew, is the ACC and the Big Twelve seem to be winning in the Senate, and they seem to have President Trump's ear because the new legislation is kind of against the SEC. And I just think that's an interesting thing to watch because who you know, who is kind of at the lead of doing the lobbying for this Score Act. 00:13:37 Speaker 4: Or the people at U of L. 00:13:40 Speaker 5: The people at U of L are on the boards that are doing this. And when I saw the newest version, I was sitting there thinking, there's no way these SEC schools are gonna like this. It would basically make it to where the money that Kentucky and these SEC schools have that is so much more than everybody else. It's kind of gonna go away and it will make all the power schools get the same money. And I'm just wondering, kind of behind the scenes, how did that happen, because the people at Louisville kind of seem to have a huge influence on who is making these decisions. 00:14:12 Speaker 4: The people at Louisville. 00:14:13 Speaker 5: And Texas Tech, they're the ones that seem to be driving a lot of this. 00:14:17 Speaker 6: And it's you know, months ago, Louisville was one of the first they put that letter out or whatever, like trying to get out and be a bit of front and face of this. When it all started, it looked like the SEC was gonna dominate everything. But they're they're losing power a little bit. 00:14:30 Speaker 4: I it's worked. 00:14:32 Speaker 5: Something is happening with Louisville in terms of I mean, it's not a coincidence. And all of a sudden, the basketball team has all this money, They're bringing Papa John back. There's a member of the Louisville Board of Trustees on the committee that is drafting this stuff. Like, people at UK gotta wake up because I feel like the sec you know, Louisville seems to be to be on the forefront of what's going on, to the point that they are helping write the legislation that's gonna go in when Trump's you know, Trump put that group together. They came up with these proposals, and when I read them, I was like, the University of Louisville could have written this. They really could have written this because it was exactly what they wanted, which I find interesting. 00:15:17 Speaker 6: In a decade ago they were the mess with blooneyhead Prominson, No, we kind of got the bloonyhead situation. 00:15:22 Speaker 4: Really, do you know? 00:15:23 Speaker 5: Most people don't use enough sunscreen, but the Kentucky Skin Cancer Center says use SPF thirty fifteen minutes before you head outside because the best defense against developing skin cancer is prevention. You can learn more at Kentucky Skin Cancer Center dot com or make an appointment I suggest you do in Owensboro, Bowling Green, Franklin, Glasgow, or Powderly two seven oh eight four to two nineteen ninety nine. It's two seven oh eight four two nineteen ninety nine. The Kentucky Skin Cancer Center. We're gonna be going there very soon. May is Melanoma Awareness Month, Kentucky Skin Cancer Center. Uh dot com another one. This one's pretty like we all know, Oh but uh, breeches. 00:16:03 Speaker 7: Bridges get too big for your bridges. 00:16:05 Speaker 5: Getting too big for your breeches. But bridges, like what's what? It's not pants. 00:16:11 Speaker 6: There's a Titans reporter who does the Bridges report. Instead of like saying what their uniform is, he talks about what britches they're gonna be wearing. 00:16:16 Speaker 4: Breeches is not a real that's not a real thing. 00:16:20 Speaker 6: Not we use it though. 00:16:21 Speaker 5: All right, we'll take a break if I'm nine to twenty four. What a weird song this is? We were of a gal and britches. 00:16:31 Speaker 7: Never trust a gal in bridges. This is uh, this is Elvis. 00:16:36 Speaker 5: So Elvis is singing a song that says, don't trust women in pants. 00:16:39 Speaker 7: Yeah, pretty much. 00:16:41 Speaker 4: That's odd. 00:16:43 Speaker 7: He doesn't want them to wear pants. 00:16:45 Speaker 6: I'm just saying, gal, I guess he's this is this? 00:16:49 Speaker 5: Yeah, there's that's a very sexist, you know. All right, somebody had a good one. I like this one because again, I'm not just looking for mispronounced I'm looking for words that don't exist outside of this and this is a good one. 00:17:06 Speaker 4: Hankering. 00:17:07 Speaker 6: Hankering's great. 00:17:08 Speaker 4: I'm I'm hankering to go to the movies. 00:17:12 Speaker 6: Hankering for some wings today. 00:17:13 Speaker 5: Yeah, hankering for some wings. What does that even come from? 00:17:16 Speaker 6: No idea. 00:17:19 Speaker 4: Because I never thought about that, But like, there's no verb to hanker. No. 00:17:28 Speaker 5: I honestly, I wish I had a live whip cam on Mario during this entire conversation, because he's not really heard of any of these. 00:17:35 Speaker 6: He was really thrown off by bridges and we're like, you're wearing breeches right now. 00:17:38 Speaker 4: He goes, what's bread? 00:17:38 Speaker 5: I was like, well, if you pull your breeches up, you could know what we're talking about. 00:17:44 Speaker 4: By the way, very sports. 00:17:47 Speaker 6: Since it's May thirteenth. 00:17:49 Speaker 5: One person writes, what did you think about the Drew Diner burning the shoe? 00:17:53 Speaker 4: Did you see this? Shannon? 00:17:55 Speaker 2: No? 00:17:55 Speaker 7: What shoe? 00:17:57 Speaker 4: Yeah? I don't really I like Drew. 00:17:59 Speaker 5: I don't know what he was doing here exactly. He said he wanted to lift the curse with U of L basketball, which I don't know that. I felt like U of L basketball had a curse exactly? 00:18:12 Speaker 4: Did you know? 00:18:14 Speaker 5: But he put Donovan Mitchell's shoes and he put paper in them, and then he set them on fire. 00:18:24 Speaker 4: And he said that by setting them on fire and burning. 00:18:27 Speaker 5: The Donovan Mitchell shoes, they would lose the curse of U of L Basketball. I also don't know what the thought process was as to why that would do it. Now as soon as he did it, Donovan Mitchell had a big game that night, huge game, huge game. They won, but people were little fans seemed like they were very angry at it. 00:18:46 Speaker 6: What also said something in the caption about mckel brown junior. 00:18:49 Speaker 5: Well, a lot some of little fans don't like mckel brown junior because they thought he didn't. 00:18:53 Speaker 4: Play when he when he could have and all that. 00:18:55 Speaker 5: But people got very upset and it was interesting to look at the at the how mad people were. 00:19:03 Speaker 4: But I also wondered, can you set shoes on. 00:19:05 Speaker 5: Fire in their plastic that probably puts out toxins and things that you don't want to happen. 00:19:11 Speaker 6: Yeah, rubber will burn. You need a good uh, Like you saidly. 00:19:15 Speaker 5: Plastic in these shoes I'm wearing. There's plastic that I don't know that you're supposed to just burn. 00:19:19 Speaker 3: That's probably the case you've seen in baseball, like the hot foot prank. Well, they taped like the magist to the back of somebody's cleats and set them on fire. 00:19:28 Speaker 5: But people people were very mad at Drue. I mean they were like, why didn't you give them away to children? And I But but maybe it worked because Donovan Mitchell played well. If they win the national championship, maybe Dianer setting those shoes on fire will have been the thing that turned it around. 00:19:43 Speaker 6: When I first saw it, I felt like a fan did it, and in them sharing it, they put like their logo on it, like they're just grown man radio host went out in the parking. 00:19:52 Speaker 5: Lot and I just took like a pair of SGA shoes And just because. 00:19:58 Speaker 6: You're mad at Jaden and Quaintance, it's kind of what the situation. 00:20:02 Speaker 5: Yeah, I go set SGA shoes on fire because I wanted Shade Sharp to play. 00:20:07 Speaker 4: That's kind of what he did. 00:20:08 Speaker 6: Yeah, it seems a little far, especially for a sports radio host. Not the end of the world. But I was surprised he did it. 00:20:14 Speaker 5: I was surprised he did it too, But uh, good luck, I like Drew. 00:20:18 Speaker 6: I just Donovan Mitchell went on to score thirty nine points in the second half. 00:20:21 Speaker 4: I'm saying, maybe it worked. Who's next, Sean? Go ahead, Sean. 00:20:27 Speaker 12: Hey, Matt, thought I might thought I might have seen out Last night went to the Mic Foley one night standing at Comedy off Broadway. It was really good, just throwing that in there. 00:20:34 Speaker 5: Oh really did was it comedy? Mc foley did comedy? Said it comedy? Oh my, I can't believe I missed that. 00:20:40 Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, go ahead. So it was good. 00:20:42 Speaker 12: It was Ah was really good, really good. 00:20:44 Speaker 6: He's a nice guy. 00:20:45 Speaker 5: I got to know him some at ov W. He's a really nice guy. So I'm glad that went well. 00:20:50 Speaker 12: No. One of my faves, one of my faves. Okay, sorry, if I can get political, have you or are you going to endorse anybody in the Kentucky Democrat Senate right? 00:20:59 Speaker 4: See, I don't know who oh in the Senate race. No, I mean I don't. I'm not. I don't. 00:21:05 Speaker 5: I have I like Charles Booker a lot. I like Dale Romans, so I know, I mean I like both those guys. Who Ever wins, that's who I'll be uh for. You know, I was thinking about I appreciate the call of the house race here in Lexington. I still can't believe like that's an open seat. Andy Barrs had that seat for twenty years and it's now open a Republican and a Democrat. Republicans will be favored, but a Democrat would have a chance. And yet I have no idea who's running. I was driving yesterday or walking and I saw signs and I was like, I don't know who's running for this, And that's crazy you would think that in this like I just can't believe. If I don't know, then I have to assume like no one knows. 00:21:52 Speaker 4: And then and the election is next week. 00:21:54 Speaker 5: Yeah, congressman, I mean, this is the next congressman for Lexington, who will be a congressman probably for twenty years. 00:22:03 Speaker 4: And I'm not sure that anybody has paid attention to it at all. 00:22:06 Speaker 8: I have. 00:22:06 Speaker 4: If you've even seen an. 00:22:07 Speaker 6: Ad, couldn't take Kenny no Ah. I s hear the Andy Barr ads and then the Nate Morris ads that used to run those two ads. 00:22:13 Speaker 5: I can from from anybody. I saw a sign for Sherry Lee Stevenson. I think there's a guy named Finnis Dimbo. And then I don't even know who. 00:22:23 Speaker 6: The Republics is not the guy that I've seen the Dimbo ads he has, like the megaphone, he's just going to be. 00:22:28 Speaker 4: Like, it's not his name is not Finnis Dimbo. 00:22:30 Speaker 5: That's the guy that played for Wyoming back in the He would have a good chance. 00:22:34 Speaker 6: I have seen a Dimbo ad now that you mentioned, but his name is Dimbo. Yeah, he's like going around like yelling at people in the megaphone, like, my name's Dimbo. Is that yelling at people? Maybe not yelling, but he has a little air horn bull horn thing and he's just saying to him, Hi, I'm I'm Dimbo. Nice to meet you. 00:22:51 Speaker 4: Can I have your vote? 00:22:52 Speaker 6: He's just introduced himself. 00:22:54 Speaker 4: He just goes, I mean, I'm Dimbo. 00:22:56 Speaker 6: That's pretty much what I got out of it. I might not be his target audio, but that's the most I can tell you about it. 00:23:01 Speaker 5: And you're gonna be voting in that primary, is it gonna vote for him? Well, you know Ryan Lemon would vote for him if you said ring ron a sweatshirt. 00:23:08 Speaker 6: We know that. 00:23:09 Speaker 4: Yeah. 00:23:10 Speaker 5: By the way, the woman Shennon in Nebraska who ran, who doesn't want to be in the race, she won, so she won and now she's dropping out, so it worked. 00:23:22 Speaker 4: Unfair. We'll take a break right back, Schaazon. 00:23:25 Speaker 12: TJ. 00:23:25 Speaker 7: Smith, personal injury attorney, called TJ. 00:23:28 Speaker 4: He'll make them pay. 00:23:29 Speaker 3: No more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. 00:23:33 Speaker 7: Here's Matt Jones. 00:23:34 Speaker 4: That's a good one, Shannon. 00:23:35 Speaker 7: Yeah, Orton, Orton, Orton, not do that. 00:23:39 Speaker 5: She said that, I reckon, I Orton. I mean that's a good dog. And Dolly's a perfect person to say I reckon, I Orton do that. You know that's good. Uh, this is more like I think deep South and not Appalachia, but this is good. If somebody's like not a good person, they're no count. 00:24:00 Speaker 4: No count. 00:24:02 Speaker 6: I don't think i've heard that one. 00:24:03 Speaker 4: Yeah, he's no count. 00:24:05 Speaker 5: I don't know where that comes from. That's in that song that pokes out. 00:24:09 Speaker 4: Annie. She said, he says pokes out and he's dad. 00:24:12 Speaker 5: Was no count. And uh, yeah, that's that's one you get. I like this one. Lick he ain't got a lickossine. 00:24:21 Speaker 6: That's the phrase too. 00:24:24 Speaker 5: You don't use it in a lot of other scenarios, but you would say if somebody's dumb or reckless, they go, I ain't got a liquor. 00:24:31 Speaker 6: Sy you said poke salad. You know, it's more of a mispronunciation. But why people say salad with a t more of a mispronouncient? 00:24:39 Speaker 5: Why do we say licoisinse like what what's the lick? Because you just get like a little taste of. 00:24:45 Speaker 6: Something doesn't even have the smallest amount of sense. 00:24:48 Speaker 3: Have you ever heard anybody like when they basically say yes, they would say instead, I imagine, I imagine. I imagine you said it all the time I ask him quittion you? 00:24:56 Speaker 7: I imagine. 00:24:57 Speaker 4: Yeah. 00:24:58 Speaker 5: My mom pointed out that in the mountains, if I ask you to do something, you to say yes, might say I don't care too. 00:25:10 Speaker 6: Is that a I don't care to I don't care too? 00:25:12 Speaker 4: Is actually yes, I'll. 00:25:13 Speaker 6: Do It's like it's like a way of saying I don't mind. 00:25:17 Speaker 4: Yeah, it's I don't mind. 00:25:19 Speaker 5: But like if I were to say to you, if you were to say to me, would you like to help me build this house? I go in, I don't care too. But in the mountains, if I wanted to do it, I go, I don't care too. 00:25:31 Speaker 6: You gotta add that little oh yeah that lets people know you're in. 00:25:36 Speaker 4: That's right. 00:25:37 Speaker 5: If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. One person writes, I know you and Drew have enjoyed it in the past. Are you excited about the World Cup? 00:25:45 Speaker 4: Oh? 00:25:45 Speaker 6: I cannot wait, Absolutely cannot wait. Our first game is the night of my birthday, which is the day I met you in Hubby was my birthday? World Cup too? That was an event. Might have to run that back. 00:25:57 Speaker 4: That was that is a bizarre story. Picked you up, I've said this. 00:26:03 Speaker 6: Year, I've picked you up. 00:26:04 Speaker 4: You were watching the World Cup at Tin Roof. 00:26:08 Speaker 5: I'm sorry. I had just met you. Hubby had not met you. I picked you up. You were drunk to past and you were wearing a flag, a Onesie flag, and another person came in the car with you and got in our car to go tape the podcast, and I was like, oh, I guess Drew's going to bring his friend. He didn't tell me that he was bringing, but that's okay. We get to Hubby's house to tape what may have been the first ever KSR podcast, and we walked into Hubby's house and it's me, Hubby, and Drew and this other person. 00:26:40 Speaker 4: And at one point Drew looks at me and goes, who's that guy? A random person. 00:26:45 Speaker 5: Shannon had just gotten in the car with us, ridden to Hubby's house, watched the first podcast in the basement, and none of us knew who he was, and but we didn't feel like we could ask him to leave. 00:27:00 Speaker 6: It was fun. 00:27:01 Speaker 7: I just just assumed that somebody else, because. 00:27:04 Speaker 5: We didn't know each other very well, Drew assumed he was with us, and so because I didn't really know Drew at the time, and so the three of us just sit there and a random guy sits there. 00:27:14 Speaker 4: In Hubby's basement and watch his history. 00:27:16 Speaker 6: Yeah, like, what's his name? 00:27:17 Speaker 4: Again? 00:27:17 Speaker 6: I'm like, I don't know. You all brought him, Like we didn't bring him. It's a good time. So, yes, we're very excited about the long time might be out there. 00:27:25 Speaker 5: And I've often wondered, I don't know who you are. Do you ever want to reveal yourself? We did wonder who you were back in the day. 00:27:33 Speaker 6: Should we Should we just run it back for you are a podcast in the world. 00:27:35 Speaker 4: Oh? 00:27:36 Speaker 6: Absolutely, And now I don't have much faith in our squad, but uh, I'm very excited. I wish I could go. I saw ticket prices, my goodness, I knew they'd be. 00:27:43 Speaker 5: High, but that ticket prices are ridiculous, and it's one hundred and fifty dollars to ride the train from New York City out to the to East Rutherford where the game is crazy. One hundred and fifty dollars on a train. Sane Shiman and I I've ridden on that train. 00:28:01 Speaker 7: Oh yeah, I have to. 00:28:02 Speaker 5: Did you think that was one hundred and fifty dollars train when we went on it? 00:28:05 Speaker 7: Absolute? 00:28:06 Speaker 5: I mean, that's amazing to me. I cannot believe how they've priced. I'm worried it's gonna be a disaster. I'm worried the whole thing is gonna be a disaster. Like when you when you talk about that football, American football stadiums are not really made for soccer when you throw in the transportation costs. I mean, having been to the Euros in Germany, those countries are built for mass transportation. There are trains everywhere. Riding trains is normal in America. You get outside of New York and DC, people don't. Maybe Chicago people don't really ride trains, you know, like New York they do, DC they do, but in a lot of cities they don't. 00:28:47 Speaker 4: It's a car culture. 00:28:49 Speaker 5: But these people coming from the rest of the world are not gonna have like they're not gonna have cars here. 00:28:56 Speaker 4: I just think it's gonna be a disaster. 00:28:57 Speaker 5: Then you throw in like all the stuff that's been happening in this country, people coming from overseas, and some of these countries are coming our countries that like we don't have the greatest relationships with right now, Like I just I'm worried it's gonna be a complete disaster. 00:29:11 Speaker 6: Also, it's less than a month away, and I'm worried. We haven't really heard much about it, like, oh, look how nice this is. It's set up and ready to go. I'm wondering, like, are we prepared this shit? 00:29:19 Speaker 5: And Shannon, it's in June and July in like really hot places. 00:29:24 Speaker 7: Yeah, that's not going to be good. 00:29:25 Speaker 5: You know, I mean it gets really hot here in a way that like in Europe, you know, we don't think about like where do you I think I may have said this on the show once, but Madrid, Spain. Okay, in your mind, think about where you think Madrid, Spain is. You probably think it's pretty south, right because it's at the southern end of Europe. 00:29:48 Speaker 4: But it is the same latitude as. 00:29:50 Speaker 5: New York City, England is like like up in Canada latitude wise. My point is it gets hotter here than does in a lot of those plays, not as hoig as it gets in Africa or parts of South America. But my point is it's gonna be really hot for these games too. 00:30:06 Speaker 4: Some of them. 00:30:07 Speaker 6: I'm worried about so many angles of it from us being as a host, but I'm still very excited to get it started. 00:30:12 Speaker 5: You know, last year when they had that Club World Cup thing, it got so hot they had to postpone the game sometimes because it was shannon too hot for them to play. 00:30:20 Speaker 7: So they can't handle that can because But. 00:30:23 Speaker 5: But if you think about it, the sports we have that are outside is not in the dead of summer except baseball. 00:30:29 Speaker 4: And you don't have to run in baseball like. 00:30:31 Speaker 7: You run in soccer, not constantly, not. 00:30:34 Speaker 5: Constantly, right, So anyway, a five to nine, two eighth, twenty two eighty seven, who's now Jordan? 00:30:40 Speaker 4: Jordan? Go ahead? 00:30:40 Speaker 9: Jordan tells one word. That one word that is in Kentucky and nowhere else. I thought was Drew Cina, But turns out that's a plan. 00:30:52 Speaker 6: Trewina and Mayett. People have been adding that with two syllables of Matt. 00:30:57 Speaker 5: Yeah, that's the that's a post that's a post game show, angry at Mark stoops. 00:31:02 Speaker 9: All right, go ahead, Yeah, I got a question. So two seconds on the clock, which three points specialist do you want to take in the shot? 00:31:09 Speaker 10: You got? 00:31:10 Speaker 9: Julius Mays, Trent Noah, C J. Frederick, or BJ Boston. 00:31:15 Speaker 4: I don't know that I would call any of those people three point specialists. So you said, C J. 00:31:20 Speaker 5: Frederick, Julius Mays, BJ Boston or Trent Noa. Are we talking about during their time at Kentucky, Yes, sir Julius maysy if you're just talking about consistently having made shots while they were here, the Julius Mays was probably the best shooter while he was here of that group. Trent Noa is probably the best shooter in theory of that group, but he just hasn't translated to the court as much. Appreciate the call. We've talked random group too, That is an extremely random group of people. Top three you gotta have a three point make at Kentucky wide open for your life. One through three just for what they did at Kentucky, not what they did everywhere. 00:32:10 Speaker 6: Easy. Number one is Drawn Lamb. I trust him with my life. Number two, I'll go Read Shepherd. He only had one year of it, but I think he has the career high percentage. He shot right around fifty per so I'm pretty solid on those two. 00:32:24 Speaker 4: I got one you're missing that should be in there. 00:32:26 Speaker 5: I'm gonna go Kobe Brea Okay, if he's open, Yeah, I'm gonna go. 00:32:33 Speaker 4: I'm gonna go in. 00:32:33 Speaker 5: And I was leaving your Reeves Antonio Reeves one, Drawn Lamb, two, A lot of choices for three. I like your Kobe bray A Read Shepherd's not bad. 00:32:48 Speaker 7: They're gonna put Meeks in there, Monk. 00:32:51 Speaker 4: That's good. 00:32:52 Speaker 5: Listen, monk, think of monks driving Murray open was pretty awesome. 00:32:59 Speaker 4: Yeah, Booker had. 00:33:00 Speaker 6: One bad February that heard. 00:33:03 Speaker 4: Reid has the highest percentage. 00:33:05 Speaker 6: I think he was over fifty percent. 00:33:07 Speaker 5: So if he I don't think so, but he's high forties, I think so. I'm gonna go Reeves, Lamb Reid. And the only reason Reid is not number one is because in the NCAA tournament game, he had open shots and just didn't make them, whereas those other guys made shots in Key and Keymo. I have two guys in their second year. We don't think about him. They're pretty automatic. Tyler Ulis was pretty nasty, went open, you know, shorter couldn't create, and then quickly was pretty Yeah, that's a good one. Year one maybe not so much, but quickly you could. He was pretty consistent. That's a really good one. Quickly open. 00:33:40 Speaker 4: His sophomore year was pretty money. 00:33:43 Speaker 5: All these guys we've mentioned, though, open, I mean Antonio Reeves open did not miss. 00:33:50 Speaker 4: Now. 00:33:50 Speaker 5: He tried to shoot off the bounce sometimes and it wouldn't be as good, but when he was open, did not miss. 00:33:55 Speaker 4: Hey B and b n. 00:33:56 Speaker 5: Spring is sprung, and that means you might be getting outside more, whether it's yard work, staying active by biking and running. I like that group, you know, we also I guess you go back in time. Delk sparks open, especially being Meelenberg guy, I trust Travis Ford open pretty good. Say his percentages goes down for a career because without Mashburn he had to create his own shot a lot. 00:34:36 Speaker 4: But when he played with Mashburn, he didn't. 00:34:38 Speaker 5: Miss a whole lot. We'll be right back doctor. See there you go. Her daddy was lazy and no count. 00:34:46 Speaker 6: See I didn't know that one like I'm from here now that I wasn't saying that. 00:34:50 Speaker 5: Yeah, lazy and no count. Uh Ryan's not here. Who's even pitching for us today? 00:36:04 Speaker 4: Uh? Nicolodolo, mister blister? Who we got? 00:36:08 Speaker 6: I'm I'm gonna fade the blister. I'm gonna I'm gonna go who they're playing? 00:36:11 Speaker 4: The Nationals? 00:36:12 Speaker 6: Oh, definitely going with the Nats here. 00:36:14 Speaker 5: I'm gonna take the blister until he gets a blister. He's good and right now I think he's blister lists. 00:36:21 Speaker 6: I will say, though, if a photo comes out of the Reds in a shower full uniform, I'm flipping and going Red's money line. 00:36:26 Speaker 5: All right, you can go to DraftKings elsbier Sings apply voy We're prohibited first algeble bet only must win the share prize pool cash reward via click the claiming spires in thirty days. Go to DraftKings dot com slash audio. All right, Uh, if I'm nine two twenty two eighty seven, who's up next? 00:36:39 Speaker 4: Shannon? 00:36:40 Speaker 7: Willie? 00:36:41 Speaker 4: Willie? Go ahead, Willie. 00:36:43 Speaker 8: Hey, Guys, got a couple of words here. The first one is karn karn. 00:36:48 Speaker 5: Yeah, explain to people what that would mean, because I what would you say is karn? 00:36:56 Speaker 8: Well, the actual word is carry on, which is animal meat that buzzers eat. Uh. But the Eastern Kentucky kind of butchered it to carn and it was a slur like, uh, he's he's as low as carn. 00:37:11 Speaker 5: Yeah, Or I've kind of heard it like like there's some mess, like go clean that carn out of the. 00:37:18 Speaker 4: Sink, right right? 00:37:20 Speaker 6: Yeah, So it works that way too. 00:37:22 Speaker 4: Yeah. 00:37:23 Speaker 5: I mean I didn't even know about that. I didn't think about the dead animal meat. I've always just kind of heard like junk, get that carn out of there. 00:37:31 Speaker 6: So it originated of dead animal. 00:37:34 Speaker 4: But the work. 00:37:35 Speaker 8: The actual word is carrion and then uh we in eastern Kentucky tender butchered a little bit. The other one is black garden. 00:37:46 Speaker 4: I don't know what that means. What does that mean? 00:37:49 Speaker 8: Uh handling or talking vulgar language? 00:37:52 Speaker 4: And what'd you say? It was. 00:37:55 Speaker 8: Black garden? 00:37:58 Speaker 4: I don't know that one. I appreciate it. 00:38:00 Speaker 6: Uh yeah, I'm not Kentucky enough. I gotta start saying some of these more. 00:38:04 Speaker 5: But he really came out there, and uh, you know, Marin Manson is in town. 00:38:09 Speaker 6: He's he's stopped answering my snapchats a few years ago. 00:38:12 Speaker 4: He's in Louisville tonight. I didn't know if you guys were to go. 00:38:18 Speaker 5: You do have his numbers by one person, rights Matt Bobby Bones today said he's that you are number four on his uh grudge list. What do you have to make of that? I heard somebody wrote A couple people wrote me and said he said that, you know, I've said this before, like I I. Unfortunately, he's he is upset at me, and honestly he should be. I screwed up with him, and I've apologized a number of times, and we've texted a couple of times, so. 00:38:50 Speaker 4: Hopefully that will repair. 00:38:51 Speaker 5: But you know, Bobby's a little bit like Ryan in the sense of like he's like the nicest guy, but he holds grudges and so does Frying, and they're hard to overcome. But I've I've done all I can, and hopefully that will be relationship will be fixed because I do really like him. But the original issue I did screw up, so I think he has right to be upset. But hopefully after it's been a couple of years, that will get better. But I was surprised he he apparently said he has a top ten grudge list in his phone, ranked one through ten. 00:39:25 Speaker 6: I was the allow You've got to really hold some grudges to put it in print. That's to keep a list like Billy Madison. 00:39:32 Speaker 4: And I get. 00:39:33 Speaker 5: I don't know if he moves people up and down on the list, but I was the only name he mentioned. 00:39:40 Speaker 6: But I'm number four, okay, so the three people get room to grow. 00:39:44 Speaker 4: I wonder if maybe I was number one. 00:39:45 Speaker 5: I think maybe I think you want to go down in the rankings, so hopefully I'm going down. 00:39:50 Speaker 4: We saw him at the Super Bowl. That's the first time I talked to him in a little bit. 00:39:53 Speaker 6: I met his crew theer. There were a lot of fun briefly. Yeah, I think the Kentucky Arkansas I think probably don't help. I notice he'll just reply to Kentucky things like out of the blue to throw jabs, so he's caught. 00:40:02 Speaker 4: Up with him. 00:40:03 Speaker 5: It's one of those things. I know, like I was, I screwed up. I was the root cause. But there's there's only so much I can do, you know what I mean? Like I I had a friend to who now we've reconnected and our good friends, but going back fifteen years they didn't talk and then finally, you know, over time, what is it the same time he heals all wounds. 00:40:24 Speaker 4: That's kind of you know what I hope happens. Who's up next, Doug, Doug, go ahead, Doug. 00:40:31 Speaker 11: Hey, Matt, I would like to give you a list quickly of six names, and at the end of each name, I would like for you to give me what you think the odds are there'll be the basketball coach a Kentucky next year, and Mark Pope is included in this list. 00:40:44 Speaker 4: Okay, are you ready? Yes? Are you mean to like rank one through six? Most likely? 00:40:51 Speaker 11: No, give me like a give me like a horse racing nod like five, okay, all right, randomly Jay. 00:40:58 Speaker 5: Lucas, all right, and he's down, Okay, going, We just got like a minute, so go. 00:41:05 Speaker 11: Ahead, okay, Okay, Natoates okay, Mark Pope, Okay, Billy Donovan or none of the names mentioned above. 00:41:16 Speaker 4: Okay. 00:41:16 Speaker 5: So if you were doing horse racing odds, I would still say Pope would be like. 00:41:22 Speaker 4: Three to five. 00:41:23 Speaker 5: I still think it's much more likely he's the coach here than he's not after next year. So I would say heavy favorite three to five. Of the odds you have listed, I would go. 00:41:38 Speaker 4: Next. 00:41:38 Speaker 5: I mean, what's the next horse? If the favorites three to five, it would it be like ten. 00:41:42 Speaker 4: To one, eight to one. 00:41:45 Speaker 11: Yeah, probably like three to one or four to one. 00:41:47 Speaker 4: Yeah. Wait, well, I don't think there's anybody here. 00:41:49 Speaker 5: If you're gonna do that, then I would say Billy five to one, None, seven to one, Lucas ten to one, Pearl. 00:42:05 Speaker 4: Fourteen, and Oates twenty. How would you do it? 00:42:11 Speaker 6: I have an educated guest on Pearl, and I would put him as a scratch. I think Pearl is in love with the media. Gig okay loves it. It ain't coming back. Put him put him last year. Yeah, but I think Pearl and Oates now it's very, very unlikely. I think if I think the most likely scenario is Mark Pope as a coach, then the next most likely scenario is Billy d and then it'll be the next is probably somebody we. 00:42:35 Speaker 5: Don't even know that we don't talk about. Appreciate you. Oh, wild x Wednesday. Go to what the app Twitter Wild x Wednesday. Get the word and you can win and send me if you want us to be around you on Friday for the show. 00:42:48 Speaker 4: Put it now, We'll see you later.
