00:00:01 Speaker 1: Happy our listeners, welcome back, another episode, another day, another dollar. But while this week we don't have any Bachelorettes on, we do have another fun episode planned because we saw a lot go down in last night's episode, you know, and I feel like we're starting to get back to the basics of the Bachelorette. It's starting to feel like a normal season again. You know. We saw some embarrassing dates, we saw some guy drama. We of course saw Bachelor alumni favorites with Ashley and Jared, and we also saw I think one of my favorite parts was the oiled up, juicy wrestling date. So, like I said, so much went down in this week, but we're back on track to give you an old fashioned Bachelotte recap. And Becca, sorry now speak. I apologize for earlier but yes, okay, not only do we get to talk about all that good stuff that you just mentioned today, but we also get to have on the man who got Tatia's first impression, Rows Spencer. I want you to know, I almost just said, Claire, I apologize. I'm fully aware of who the new bats arette is, but let's be honest, it's we're still we're still pivoting here dips, let's place a bet. I just thought about this right now, Okay, how long before one of the men caused Tasia Claire. Oh, that's a good question. Okay, I'm gonna say this. It definitely happened, probably within the first two or three days. But I don't think they'll show it. Yeah, you're right, you're cut it out that you win the bet because he's a huge asshole. But hopefully they'll leave it in. But I don't think. Yeah, I don't think they'll show it. It's tough. This is I can only imagine being in a house where your lead switches out midway through. It's it's tough. So we got to cut them in some slack in that regard, but we also want them to respect our girl, Tasia. But we're gonna talk to Spencer, like I said, And I know we talked to Tasha a little bit about Spencer last week on the podcast, but I'm glad that we get to actually talked to Spencer. I got some questions for Spencer, and I know you do too, Becca, because even they came in a little full of himself. There's just no other way to put it. And let me also say something there have been people that have been talking about Becca and me and saying that they feel like, you know, we say, well, we're supposed to say because we're the official Bachelor podcast, and I'm going to disagree with you. Guys. We always speak our mind and I'm not going to hold back. Becca is not going to hold back. We're just gonna go at it. So this this podcast, actually, I know Leclair and delhe was was wrong because we were tipsy. I know the Tasia one is wrong because we were tipsy for a lot of reasons. It's a big we I'm here to say we are not tipsy today, but I want to keep it up, like keep up this energy of just you know, being real and being wrong. That's our charm. That's why people like to come here and listen, because we give you the behind the scenes, but then we also keep it real. And maybe we've gotten a bit away from that, but no more, no more. So I'm also detour detour on that part. I'm back, but also here to say that when we have Spencer on, I'm hoping he can give us some insight about what it's like. I love that we keep saying in the house because that's what we would normally say, but what it's like with these group of men. Maybe he can give us some intel on these people. And then we also know history has shown us Bachelor history has shown us that the person who gets the first impression Roles goes pretty far. So I'm gonna assume that about Spencer. Also, I'm gonna we're gonna fill him out of it and see what he's like and get his take on everything that's going on. Yeah, you know, it's so funny because I feel like night one, Spencer comes in hot and heavy, and he obviously got the first impression Roles. You see a lot of him, of him rubbing the guy's the wrong way. And now in this episode, it's like where Spencer, I almost forgot what dat he was on because there was so much in that first week of him and now kind of nothing. And so I don't want to say it's like a fall from grace, but I really want to pick his brain on like, because I feel like he's so behind the scenes in this episode that I want to. I hope he was just like getting all the intel that he can share with us today because the oh, there wasn't much more than that first impression rosn't that first kiss with him, which means he has nothing to talk about. That's what he is, not interesting TV. He has nothing to talk about outside of being one of the new guys and getting the first impression Rows. I'm just gonna go ahead and say that about him. I also, I mean, he came in pretty cocky the first night, but I'm putting myself in the shoes of the other man who have been there. We'll call them bogs. Can you imagine new people coming in and breaking up your chemistry. I would not like Spencer or the three other guys that came in. At this point, You're feeling on edge because you were here, You've given your all, and then you've seen that lead leave with someone else. Now here come four new guys and Taitia gives the first impression Rows to one of them. You've got to be sitting back thinking, uh, please, don't let this happen again. Please, So she's not gonna fall clearly for this guy, this is gonna happen. I mean, that's all you know. That's your entire bachelor experience, Clara said, a precedent for you, So that's the only one you know. How to follow. It's got to be pretty scary to have so much uncertainty in a different way for these men. But yeah, very unfoar with twenty twenty twenty. Yet twenty twenty. You know, once again, those damn Bachelor producers do it again. You know, keep it in mind at the times they're like, you know what, it's twenty twenty. We got to shake things off in a way if we never had. It's just that whenever we cann off up right now before we get back to the basics. So which let's get into this because we have a lot to digest and get into before we actually have Spencer on, I want to I do want to ask him a lot of questions about this past week because, like I said, I feel like he just sat back, hopefully took it all in. Hopefully he could like give us some tea on all the drama that we saw between some of the dudes. But so we start off the episode with the grown ass band challenge, no virtual or your thoughts on this date. Yeah, So, first of all, it were back to a regular season, is what it seems like. So for all those new Bachelor fans out there, which I feel like they're quite a few in twenty twenty, just because everyone's been quarantine. This is how it normally goes. This is what they call a group date. I know you didn't really see them during Claire's season, so first of all, my first thought was, these men have no idea who Ashley, I and Jared are. That's what I thought immediately. They had no reaction to them at all, So I thought this was a fun date. I love that they broke it down into different categories. I loved I loved Bennett during this whole day. My gosh, I am such a Bennett fan. I love everything about him. And what I also liked about this date is we got to know the personalities of the men right for the first time we've seen Bennett, but we're getting to know more about Chasin and we'll get into that later. You see tomorrow, You've got Ed, You've got Ivan, Joe who I'm just really waiting for Joe to have his moment because the only time we've really heard him speak is when it was at the roast with Margaret Choe, and I'm just gonna leave that there, that that was the only time that we saw a real im with him. I'll let y'all digest that for yours. But I will say when when names hurt, little snippets of Joe, I always really like what he has to say, and I think that he I wish he wasn't so hidden because I feel like he's actually very humorous and we don't see enough of that. So again, everyone listen up, exactly, let's not only play him when we have another Asian on the show. I'm just gonna say it like it is. I was. I was so bothered by that. Really, nobody else has an opinion. We're gonna go to Joe on this one. Anyways. Okay, yeah, what were your thoughts about it? Well? I love that they broken up into three totally different categories. I mean, the beginning, the knowledge chest, like of course you go and watching this being like Bennett's gonna crush us. He went to Harvard. You know, he's obviously smart, and I don't know if he was just screwing with us or if he like truly just like, okay, I get math's hard. Math is not my strong suit. I will I will give him that, but like bet it, I will, you know, I mean, thank god he redeemed himself. But you know, the knowledge chest the physical challenge like that isid. I think my favorite part was the breakfast in bed because I was putting myself intatious shoes and I'm like, who pick out of this? I would I will say I would have picked Bennett because I know I love my robes and for all of that talking shit about Bennett's robe, girls love robes, girls love slippers. We love to be comfy. So whoever was not in the robe, just keep your mouth shut. Yeah no, I I forget about you, and you're only being missing where those slippers? Becca? I was asking for you. I love. I liked Damar. I thought, you know, he brought in a touch of home. Let us know he was from Scott's delle let Tasian know that as well. I mean the one who really sucked was Chasing. I mean, Jason, we expected you to do the most simple minded thing. And I don't want to pick on Chasing too much in this episode, but my god, that was like, I know, he thought he was doing something so big, but again it was really something basic that I would expect Chasen to do. But Bennet by far, by far won that. But this is what I'm going to say too. Ed won me over in this challenge. Do you know why? Don't give it to me? He named the baby Carlos. Do you know why he named the baby Carlos? Knocked up or not knocked up? The hangover right exactly, Carlos. He was so quick on his feet. And remember Bennett told us he's a really funny guy. So the moment, without even skipping a beat, he was like, baby's name is Carlos. I thought, oh, that was witty. That was really good. Ed. I like that, which I will say, Yeah, I feel like we're finally starting to see him because each week I remember Benn talking him up, and I'm like, I wanted to see more of him. And I think, like, it's the little moments that you see Taitia interacting with the guys, like you probably didn't even quite catch it when she addressed Ed right at the top of the cocktail party, but it's moments like that where he's like kind of starting to come out of a shell and Ed's growing on me, and well he grew on us and then he lost us at the same time. So there was so there's that and we'll definitely get to it, and it Benet's defense. I will say this as well, I too would have probably misspelled limousine. I am not good at spelling at all. And I don't think that that's necessarily those three things that we saw them answer those questions, I don't. I think just if you can't answer them, if you got a hundred on that test, doesn't mean that you're getting into Harvard. And I understood what he meant when he's like, the question is not worded in the correct way. I knew what he was thinking because he was thinking it was a trick question and he was overthinking it. They were very simple, but in his mind he was like, no, probably because actually that rose is given. At this I know what I know what he was doing and Bennett's defense, but I really really enjoyed that. Now I will pause for a second because if you've watched this episode, you know that we see the beef go down between Ed and Chason. Now, what's so great about this podcast is we can speak to our own experience, but we can also give you behind the scenes and maybe we have a little intel on some things. So at this point, Becca, I'm going to you because you know Chason I do. Now we have seen a Chason on the show, but you have met Chason in person? Are they on the same So watching this drama go down, it's interesting because I kind of already So side note, if no one has listened to our podcast earlier, I've mentioned Jason and I have a mutual friend Don and Sandy Go. I've said that before, and so from this I've gotten to know Chason a little bit more. And while I don't want to knock anybody, I'm gonna say this, I don't think Ed is very far off in his claims at this point, in the fact that he basically a saying Chasin doesn't appear to be there for the right reasons. He might be going after the fame. So again, I don't want to knock anyone. Chasen from what I've met, which it's not much, it's very nice guy, like he is, sweetheart, but also too, I think he went on the show for other reasons other than just to find a partner in life. Okay, wow, you heard it here. It's Chasen intellectual and unintellectual. I mean he lost me at Smoke show. Yeah. The fact I love I love the humor of Bennett, The fact that he was laughing. He was rolling over, laughing at the fact that Chason confused and noun and an adjective. I thought, if that in smart humor, you know what I mean, like things that you think are it's probably not that funny. But you know, he's so smart, but he's better down and an adjective. He doesn't difference. Yeah, no, I will say this, like there's the fight between the two is weird because obviously, like when you get a lot of dudes living in the same house fighting over the same woman, there's gonna be pent up energy and this tension and guys like not everyone's gonna get along. Like so I understand that part now, Like I just I felt bad for Edwin when Jason was calling him chicken legs. It's like, right, I have chicken legs too, That's all I was baughing, you know, like sometimes we just can't work our cab muscles up. But um, I hate like the thing that bothers me when people fight, and and we kind of saw it in this beef between these two men. It's like it just got petty, like you know, it's it got into the name calling and it's like if you don't like somebody just like say it, oh, or I don't call somebody chicken legs or like make fun of how they look or what they're wearing or anything. It's just like say it to me. Done. It's It's just when Chasing would talk, he would play into the things the guys were saying about him. It's like, that's all you got chicken legs. I had chicken legs. I just was like, come on. At times I felt sorry for Chasing because they were all laughing at him. But then he would say things like tastious a smoke show. And then he said it three or four times. You didn't see what was wrong with it? Becca, Would you want a man who you're getting to know to describe you as a smoke show? No? And you know what it reminded me of. I don't what was the guy's name that she sent home that clear had sent home actually, where she's like like, what do you like about me? Why are you here? And he's like, oh, grandmal, Yes. It kind of reminded me of that. It's like, there's so much more to any human being than the way that they look. And yeah, I understand that guys at times like appearance is what you see at first, like, of course you don't know Tatia that well, you're still getting to know her. But beyond that, like she, yes, is stunningly beautiful, but there's so much more, and if you have one conversation with any woman, you can hopefully see that and speak on that. And he just felt so so flat with me. Yeah, yeah, I mean, ladies, ladies, a man who are really trying to get to know on a personal, intimate level should not be calling you a smoke show that comes along later. Is it a compliment, absolutely, but it's not personalized. There's no depth behind that. It's and he didn't get it, and that's the problem. And you could tell Tasia's over it, okay when he went back to talk to Tasia and she hugged him when she confronted him about what Ed had said, and she hugged him. Her face was like, I'm just here to put you on a two online. That's really that's really what she said. And you know, I'm actually I like fast forwarding now to the ros server and I thought he was going home. I truly didn't know he's got to be on a two on one. Come on, Becca, you're an og in this game, he's got to be on a two on one at this point, I don't want this, but again, like I have such a soft spot right over end, so I don't want to see him go home. But can't be picking favorites right now, No, you can't. And so did we? Okay, we had a group day, we had a cocktail party and then a roll ceremony? Did we have? Was there a cocktail party before the roll ceremony? Did I miss something here? Well? There was after the second group date, there was. I don't know. The row ceremony came after the first group day. It was like in between we get taitious first roll ceremony, but we didn't see a cocktail because we saw what the night portion of the group day. Because Ivan gets the rows, yes, but then entering to the roll ceremony, he goes straight to the rose ceremony. We saw no cocktail party. There's so many men that were missing from this episode. You know why I wonder why they did that though, is because we're piggybacking off of last week. We're she just fell on, showed up but didn't do a rose ceremony. So that's why I think there's that weird placement, but we normally get there's only a cell party, or it's canceled like there's an anocement. So it was weird that that was a transition. But I definitely had in my notes that I have to comment on tatious dress because I loved it. It was stunning. She looked great. And then I want to comment on the people who were eliminated. It's a roll ceremony. Have you ever seen Peter in your life? No? But was Peter one of the newbies that came in, I don't know. The only one I recognized was Jay, so that's why I just assumed the other two Montell was a new guy. Montell's I have never I am convinced that they needed a filler. And this is when they brought in somebody from audio camera lighting to fill in. That's who Peter is. We will see Peter. If somebody flipped the camera around, you'd probably see Peter holding up like a boom mic or something. I've never in my life seen Peter. Wouldn't you say Peter right now? I can't even in picture what he looks like. Picture pilot Pete, I exactly. I rewounded I said, Peter, who is who is this man? Where did he come from? If you're listening, please let us know who you are. No, don't because we won't still won't know who you are. I couldn't pick Peter out of the lineup to date. I just the only reason I know his name is because it is on my notes. I don't know Peter Mike. I feel so bad for him because there's always that one. He had to have been one of the new ones. I know mine tell us. I know Noah was, I know Spencer was, and I know they're four, so maybe it was Peter. It had been Peter, my guy. Yeah, never seen him before in my life. And speaking of never seen before or just never not seeing people, there were so many men we did not see this episode because we saw a second group date, which was WrestleMania and there, and we saw repeats like some of the same people who went on the first group day went on the second group date as well, and some people we didn't see it all, like like Riley, Yeah, I see, that's why. That's why I think this whole switcher rou just like maybe I'm just hoping it's this week where they're trying to like get back on track, like get back into some sort of normal schedule and routine, because I can't. I can't have the to be continued a rose ceremony in the middle of the episode then a day. It's just like I'm so confused right now, but again, like very on par with twenty twenty and how this year is going. But like fingers crossed next week, it's a schedule, so we can so we can keep track on our podcast exactly. So we get into this WrestleMania, which was super intense. I love that Tasia was like, um, I just thought we were like, you know, I don't know what you call it, like play wrestling. I don't remember what she was, but these men are ready what she called it. But these men are ready to go. So you've got Ben Brendan, Chase an Easy Edge, Joe Jordan, and Spencer on the date. We obviously know that they're going to pair up and and chasten together. M what did you think about Ed's excuse for not getting in the ring. I mean, here's the thing, Like, if I was at I wouldn't want to fight any I'm not a fighter, so I get it. It seems like a cop out. I will say, it's like, why are we, like the second year about to go into the ring? Why are we just hearing about this now? Um? But you know, if he feels uncomfortable, I mean, and I will say this, we got a lot of backlash for when we were talking about the Strip Dodgeball date and how if men felt uncomfortable, like they shouldn't have to participate. So like you see that here, Like guys can back out, they can say no, they can choose to not partake in the date. And we saw that with him now obviously like he didn't have to strip down naked, it was something else. But like these people have to say, and that's what I want people to keep in mind on this date. It's like he didn't need to go in there and fight. But I do feel like it was it was better off grabbing his shoulder in the middle of the fight. That's what he should have done. The fact that he sat there watched all those people go through it. The fact that he ben it excuse me, Ben had had Ben had had a knee issue and he didn't participate in the grown ass Man challenge that physical part, and he announced it before Ed waited and he looked sad. He waited until the last minute and then pulled the chronic shoulder issues. I get it. I have a chronic shoulder issue as well. My shoulder pops out of socket. I would have announced that at the very beginning. He pulled Chris Harrison over it. It was embarrassing. He too thought it was play wrestling. Once he saw what it was, he was like, I'm not going to lose another physical match because he lost in the Grown ass Man Challenge. He said, I'm not doing it again. He should have faked the injury in the middle of the ring as soon as it started. Oh my shoulder. Then Tasia could have come over. She could have comforted him, rubbed his shoulder, but nursed him back to health. You gotta gotta think in a different way here. But you know what, it did end up working out because then we see ed not fight. But who hops into that ring, who throws his name in the mix is Noah. Now I want to ask your thoughts on this, because I have a lot of on Noah and this action. But what did you think? So what did I think about Noah? I think it? I mean Tacia said, or Chris said, or wells, I can't remember. Does anybody want to step up? And he jumped into the ring. I mean, that's what you want. You want a man who's gonna step up for you. And it didn't matter if five people raise their hands. He not only stepped up, he jumped into the ring. After seeing those brawls and people getting hurt and all that stuff, I did. I appreciated the gesture. I thought it was so hot. I'm just gonna say when I saw Noah, he didn't even bat an eyelash. He was like, hell yeah, count me in, hopped over that fence. I was like, okay, this and this is the thing. When the men were complaining about like, oh, he's breaking the rules, he's not even on the state. Who cares? This is basture. And if Kasias cool with it, and he's making this gesture, this grand gesture, he's not the only thoughts, the only one who can hop offense. If no one wants to do it too, let's let him. Becca. I see she's got beads of sweat tripping down her face and she's saying this right now. No. I get those men were just jealous that they didn't think of it first. And I'm like, Noah didn't skip a beat, and that's what you want. In the words of Claire, I just want somebody who's gonna show up, who's gonna show up for me? And Noah did that. I mean his mustache entered the ring before he did, but still he got in there. I don't know if it was him speaking or his mustash. It's hideous, horrid, horrid, Okay, I so many of the guys were talking to about the mustache. I personally don't think it's terrible. You hear that, Noah, No no, no, I'm not saying I don't. I think Noah, God bless you. But like still young, you know, he's growing up like but maybe it's like the Midwestern in me and so many of my guy friends would have mustaches growing up that I just like, I thought it was cute. It's fine connect to something. It can't live alone unless you're Tom Selleck. It can't live alone. It's got to connect to a beard, a goatee, a soul patch. I wonder what he has right now. I wonder if if he has the stash back, or if he's beardless, face must whatever, this facial hairdless stuff, burly. Now who knows, Yes, food gets in, it's not it's it's just uh. I will say this though, And men have mustaches and they eat sometimes the scent does not go away, and that is what would get me like if roads. Well, apparently Tastia thinks like we do, because the mustache didn't make it to the end of the episode. It didn't get a roast day not. But you know, again, like we see Tasha allowed Noah to come on the cocktail portion of the evening, which, of course, like the guys didn't like, they weren't happy about it, but again, you know, it's Tassia's show, like she's calling the shots, and so if she wants him there and then he stuck out, like good for her, Like rules are meant to be broken at times. And I also love that I hope when all of the men were like, where's Noah, where's Noah, and he's in the mirror prepping himself to like say his goodbyes. And I love that he actually let Tasha do the honors of her moving it. Noah's a star and he's a gift. I liked Noah, Yes he could if I was one of the men in the house. I can understand how it's a little annoying, but don't be chelish because you didn't step up. Noah has come in, he has made his presence. Know, he's a star. We love it. He's good TV. And what I also like in this whole moment is the stark contrast between the way Noah is operating versus been. Noah doesn't wait, he takes chances, he goes for it, and he doesn't care what the other men think, as opposed to ben Is also has his own strategy, and then we see how that works out for him. Yeah, it doesn't work, and we've Rachel. I feel like we say this every episode or sorry, every season. There's always somebody who thinks they kind of have it in the bag and that their connection is so great and they sit back and they're relaxing and taking it easy, and that he never ever works out in anyone's favor, Like Nope. Time is of the us since here you don't know how long a night or a day is going to last, and so you can't just sit back and hope and wish him pray, like you have to be in there asking for your time with that person, and right then clearly didn't do that. Nope, he didn't do it. And then we see basically that it doesn't work out for him in the end, but we're left with the cliffhanger, which you know these days they tend to do. So yeah, I guess we'll have to see how that works out for Ben in the future. Because to ask you this too, because I haven't at this point, who do we think artatious top men? And Ben is on my list? And I don't know if I need to put a line. I don't know if I need to strike through his name after how this episode ends. But who is on your list, your top four? Who who they've shown Tasia really likes. I don't quite honestly, at this point, I don't know if I can give you four. The only man that comes to mind that I know for sure, because I feel like it's there's so much like distraction went out with the other dudes. The only guy right now is I would say Brendan, Yeah, she really, I mean she said the show because shut down. Yeah, Claire, very Claire. Ask so they're gonna have another Claire? We don't know, you know, like I thought she was in the Spenser and then this this episode we don't really see him. And then at the top of this episode choose into Chase and and then that went the other way. So I would say and Ivan because he got he got the group day rows. Those are the only two at this point I can say, Yeah, she calls on my list. She calls i'van a dark horse, so that stood out to me. Obviously, we talked about Brendon last week, so we know she's in a Britain. But she she and Been are kind of giddy around each other, right, like they make each other nervous. She said, Obviously, I'm attracted to you, so there's definitely something there, but I don't know if that's over with at this point after the way this episode ends, so we shall see. Those are those are my top top I guess was that three people are named for her at the moment based on what we've seen so far, because this is the first quotation wait it's a second, second, second, yeah, one in such a dark contrast from Claire because obviously since that when we knew who Claire was picking in WOTA shot, it's like, I don't know, Yeah, well I have to wait and find out. We don't know, but I but I am appreciating that we're getting to know these men. Except for Peter. I feel like, you know what, I also feel like they're like, we've had enough Peters at this point, You're Peter, You're out of luck. I feel like, who wasn't Tyler? See Spender done that? We need new, a new, fresh crop of men, new men's names here. If you want to apply for this show and your name is Tyler, Peter or Hannah, you should reconsider or have a nickname when you come on the show, because we've had enough. We've had enough. Yeah, Oh god, amen, um, oh go no, Beau, say listen, I mean we I think we summed up the episode pretty pretty darn good there, and at this point, there's nothing else left to do but talk to Spencer. Now. We're very interested in talking to Spencer, and let's hope he has more to say on this podcast than we saw in tonight's episode. So, without further ado, let's welcome Spencer to the podcast. Well, Spencer, Hi, how's it going. I'm doing well? How are you guys? Good? Fantastic? Thank you for asking. I want to ask now, obviously a lot has gone down. We know that you've been on the show. But to kick things off, how have you been during Quarantine and going from the show back to Quarantine? How has life been for you? Life has been pretty normal, actually, I mean quarantine's kind of a loose term. I feel like nowadays things have been a lot more normal than first let's say, like April or March, that's for sure. Like restaurants are for the most part, you know, they're pretty much open, and people are gathering, especially younger people are gathering. Whether or not it's legal, you know, whatever, But it feels pretty normal right now, and so it's been good. So are you a fan of the show. Did you even know who Tasia was? I did not know who Tasia was and I hadn't seen a full episode prior to going on the show. That's the best, the best way to go in, honestly. Yeah. Oh god. This is so interesting because obviously now from what we've seen you, like you were under the assumption for a while that it was going to be clear you were meeting, and then pivot to you now being the second batch of men coming in. Do you think in the long run that that help or hurt you coming in the second round? I guess it depends how you look at it. Like, in terms of being comfortable on the show, it absolutely would have helped to be the first round, but then again that would have given me a lot higher chance of getting eliminated, so perhaps I wouldn't even been there coming in later. Like, there's definitely like dynamic there with all the guys who have already been there and the new guys shown up. So you know, if I were to do it again, I probably would do the same way, minus the quarantine period, Like I would be fine with coming in later if I didn't have a quarantine for that long. Well, let's let's talk about how you came into the show, because you seem so nice right now, Spen, So that's that's how you walked onto set. Okay, let's just talk about it and I and I don't know if this plays into you saying about being comfortable or not, you know, but I'm gonna throw you a bone here that I can only imagine what that must have felt like, knowing that all these men have been here, they've probably established their friendships, you know, clicks in the house, and then here you come in. What was did you have a strategy let's just start there. Did you have a strategy coming into all of this if the first day I knew then what I know now, Like I had no idea that they had been put through the ringer with Claire, and like, quite frankly, like I'm walking into the room meeting these guys and I'm kind of guessing that it's gonna be like a locker room vibe there, like spirits are up, et cetera. Would have a new bachelorette. Not the case whatsoever. And I have to take full responsibility of the fact that I misread the room. I said things that if I were to do it again, I would never say. So to answer your strategy question, No, I did not have a specific strategy. I was just going in there to be myself. I'm like, full disclosure, Like I'm a moron. I say stupid things all the time. No, I did not have a strategy. So I want to know because night one, obviously we saw you come in hot and heavy and rubbing the guys the wrong way, and they weren't I mean, to begin with, I get it, they weren't thrilled to have this new crop of dudes come in. I understand that but um, I think I think you set the tone when you were like, oh, which one have you guys? Scared Claire away? Fast forward now too. That's funny. So the next week we don't see a ton of you. You know, you're kind of hidden because there was a lot of other drama going on. Do you feel like you kind of warmed up to them at that point or did they embrace you more or did you kind of read the room a little bit better at that point? Yeah, so you'll see or I guess this will anyway. At the first at the conclusion of the first group date, the guys kind of confronted me Kenny specifically and was like, yo, like we think you're kind of coming across as a dick kad And I was like okay, like why and there's all like that was a very long talk of in and of itself, and you only get to see a small portion of that, but that was actually like a very productive talk and they kind of said their peace, and I said, okay, you know, give me a chance more or less, you guys will see my true colors. And from that point forward, like I definitely had to earn their like respect back. I guess so I did over the course of the next few days and weeks, etc. But yeah, moving forward, it was not as nearly as dramatic as that scene. Did you feel like you had a target on your back after getting the first impression Rails? I mean, I think anyone who gets the first impression Rose is going to have a little bit of a target on your back. I did myself, no favors um saying things that I said, But yeah, maybe maybe a slight one. But like I said, like, that's not a reason to dislike or like someone. And again, if I could, if only I knew then what I knew now, and if only I could do it again, I would have gone about it in a much different way. Can I be honest with you? Do you know when you lost my respect? No? I don't, But go on, when you and Tatia were sharing a moment. It might have been on a at a cocktail party and you have the popsicles, and you do you remember this part and you bit into the popsicle with your teeth. You lost me. I was smart, fun, Okay, there's a specific reason why I did that. Why I am not going to be caught on camera sucking on a popsicle for all of my first to see for the rest of my life. I did that very very intentionally. That was smart. You're right, you got me there you my sensitive teeth are cringing right now. Oh my god. I literally I was like, it was like lost respect. Possibly. I love that. That's the moment so vivid. I felt it. A chill went through my body when I saw it happen. All things for them to choose there, come on. But you're right, though you could that was the only way. It was the only way that was. That was smart. When you got the first impression Rose, you hadn't watched the show before. Did you know what that meant? Did you understand that? Yeah? I mean I knew the background of the show. I knew what the first impression roles meant and how much history there is with people who win the show and the first impression Rose. So after I received the some pressure, I was like, I was so, I wasn't. I was surprised for sure, because I came in and I think any person has confidence in themselves, but to actually think you're gonna win get the first pressure, I was is like, I don't know, it's kind of a like pipe dream, so to speak. So I didn't know how it works, and I did know the significance of it, and so that made me pretty nervous, I think, And I was just like, holy calic, this is getting so real, like I might being aged ye in two weeks and that well, and for you, I think I asked Tasia this last week too, because it's one thing to go into a full season, you know, two months worth, knowing that you have the potential to get engaged at the end of it. It's another to come halfway through with a new crop of men and another batch of men that have already been waiting there, that have done this for a few weeks. So did you feel like there was even more pressure at that point of like, holy crap, this isn't getting real, but we don't have that much time. Yeah, Like it was such an accelerated bachelortte experience and it was again I knew that, and I was just like, like I thought, it was just a wild time, Like it was just so crazy that all that was just happening. Ye. Sorry, my dog was licking up for water, started talking to me, start a weird noise, no knocking my corn off, Like that's why I keep like bending down. Um, so because you came in and you were if you were a polarizing figure when you came in. Did you make friendships in the house? Okay? There were guys that definitely took what I said more personally than others, for sure. And um, luckily I had one immediate friend who was Noah, who was another guy who came in late with me. He was my roommate at that point, and so you know, we were roommates. You know everyone who everyone's roommate. I feel like you always make a connection there. Um, But it definitely took a little while for guys to warm up to me, and rightfully so, like I I would have hated me watching myself at that point. So are you, um, are you in the group chat? That's really telling you guys were already about him. Who's not in the group chat? I think they all are in the I have to have Okay, I will be honest. I wasn't in the group chat. That's because you want I wasn't. No Brian, my my husband, Brian, UM was never in the group chat. Yeah, Brian and I can sort of wrote group chat. He was never in it. Wait, so wait, are there are there people that are so there are people who aren't in it? Yes? Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah thought him so Spencer. Obviously, you know you have your experience from the show. What do you think it's going to be like for your family and friends to now watch you back? Are you excited? Are you a little nervous and hesitant? Do you think they're going to call you out for your actions? I will absolutely be called out, and I think that excites them. They're ready for it. Oh my friends are licking their chops right now. Um they cannot. I guarantee you. I'm just never going to hear the end of it again, rightfully. So I put myself in that position. Um, but yeah, as soon as I know more, maybe I'll report back. Okay, how did you get on the show? Funny story? Actually, um, it was my thirtieth birthday and young gall reached out. I didn't really know what it was about at first, and I was kind of like, happy birthday to me. Maybe I'm the bachelor. Yeah yeah, but anyway, I didn't know what it was at first. Um, it was a vague message and I had a conversation with the gal and had a few more, and then fast forward a few months. I'm in the back of a cab on the way to Palm Springs. When's your birthday? April? What day April? What you're talking to April? Babies? Here? Ninth? Oh, Aries, I'm as good month. What are you? I'm a Taurus, but technically, according to the Eastern Eastern astrology, I'm an Aries. I've just learned this. This. I can't with these different styles of astrology. Apparently we've been doing it all wrong, which I feel like you could say about everything. And apparently did you watch the Netflix thing where they like astrology essentially? No, what documentary is this? It's all my list. I'm gonna watch, explain, I'm gonna watch. Thank you for that, Yes, thank you, appreciate that anagram number. Um, you're sponsor, You're a story for you because you know this this week you kind of did sit back. You weren't causing this much trauma. But we did see drama go down between it, Chase and Ed and you know you, I mean for Rachel and I we're just few worse. We only saw a little bit of this drama take place. So in New York, I guess from your experience of living with both of them, kind of whose side are you on? Like, do you think Ed was more in the right and Jason wasn't the wrong? Or when you when that was all going down, what were your thoughts? Because I had been going through so much shit, I was like, yeah, I'm staying out of this. But having said that, UM, I could see kind of both points of view to an extent. UM, I just didn't know what Ed's motivation was for saying it, Like, I didn't think that he needed to do that, even even if he felt like Jason was there for the wrong reasons, like I don't. I just didn't understand why he like was going out of his way to let everyone know that. I have to ask you this because I know you and Chason both live down in San Diego, UM, and prior to having you on, I did tell Rachel, like I know Chason, we have a mutual friend down in that area, And from what I've gathered, I wouldn't say it is too far off. So would you agree with that? But would you say he was actually there to find love or was it more to find a following? Um? I would say he was. I mean, from everything he said like he was open to it, like you know, if the following comes. I certainly don't think he was opposed to that. But I'm looking up Chason's Instagram right now. He's not verified. I just I mean, you probably know him. Money's twenty nine point seven thousand followers. It's not looking too good for all, Chasing. Chasing is my buddy. I'm not saying a damn thing. Jason is my boy actually, but I will say this, and I don't want to talk about on him because I and I told her it's very nice. Yeah, I just what I want him dating one of my girlfriends right now. Probably not. That's all I'm gonna say. But anyway, pivots and I get why Chasing acts the way he does. I'm going through his Instagram. Okay, are chasing and now yeah I am are chasing, are Chasing and ed in the group chat? Okay, Okay, that's good. Um, okay, So let's get more into the tea of it all. Because you are there, okay, back and I were there as well. We are both a part of tatious season, but you know we didn't we don't have the inside scoop like you do. So who were you closest with on the season at the location, Noah, who's my roommate? Honestly? Ironically enough, Ed and Chase Blake Moins probably Ivan, Yeah, those probably are the closest handful. Yeah yeah, yeah, but you said on this when you were there, so it's changed now. So now who are you closer with? Geographically? Jason lives like blocks away from me, so yeah, we happen to run into each other. We bump into each other every now and then. I have the Saturday Farmers Markets, Will Spencer. We have so many more questions for you, but we have to get into our game. We love our games on Batchelor Happy Hour, so we want to play a quick one with you before you head off. So obviously you made quite a first impression on Tasia, and we want to know which one of your cast mates made the best first impression on you. So we're gonna call this little game first Impression Rose not Rose. So this time you have the power, you have the Rose, and we're going to ask you a bunch of superlatives and give and have you give your Rose the cast mate that you think it best fits. Okay, So to start it off, who had the best abs are the best abs. Mhm oh, I'll give it to Kenny. Yeah, Kenny. Everyone gives it to Kenny. M He's like, I gotta I gotta rewind and go back and look at Kenny, take a good look. I feel like I missed this. Who was the funniest? Easy? He's got that one easy? We had him on the show. He isn't He's great. Who took the longest to get ready? I'll go with Noah on that one, Like he's the only one I saw first hand, Like the boy is messy, and the boy takes a while. Did you have to like oil up the mustache and comb through it and make it perfect prior to the shave? He is not afraid to walk around naked and I was just like trying not to look at anything going on. He seems like that type of person. I'm that that doesn't surprise me at all with it. Who is the shadiest shadiest? I guess I don't know as if you say shady in terms of like mysterious or shady in terms of like you know what I mean? Or maybe we'll put it like this, like who threw the most shade right? Like kind of we'll do it like that. Who threw the most shade? Bennett? I knew you're gonna say that. Oh, this is what I meant to say about Bennett too. When we were recapping, you said you didn't know Spencer. You said, I don't know where Ed's motivation came from. And I'm like, it was Bennett. In this episode, Bennett literally sets Ed up and then just let's Ed go. He gets at all riled up. He had the same opinions as Ed, but he let Ed do all the talking. It was Bennett. It was Bennett s in the pod. But it could I feel like, but it's so far. You could be a producer. I love Bennett. You could do it. Um Okay. Who was the most romantic pose strong mantic? That's a tough one, but I'll go with I'll go with Brendan. He's just so. He's the nicest guy every like I have to hand to him. He seems like that seems very nice. He's funny too. He kind of came out of a shelve this episode. Well, I mean, obviously he did last episode when he was just with Tasia, but with the guys, we're seeing so much more of him. Now I think you already answered this question. But who was the messiest? Yeah, no, it earns that one for sure. Who was the nicest? I mean you also answered this one. Yeah, I mean Brendan is is. Yeah, for sure, I'll go with Brendan again. Okay. Who was the most athletic most athletic she'sh Um, I'll give it to I'll give it to Easy. I mean he's he's the NFL guy, So I don't know. Yeah, who was the biggest drama queen? I'll go with she's don't hate me? Noah? If I'm going with you again? Yeah, now fitting from what we so far. But you weren't the first person we had. I think it might have been easy when we had him. We asked, like, who who was like the biggest ham in front of the camera, and he also said Noah. Did he? M hmm, I think it was easier ben at one of the two biggest ham like we just loved like would eat up the camera time and like play it up kind of, and and whoever it was said, Noah, Noah is great TV. And I appreciate that, like that, there's an art to be good siblings. Does he have he has like eleven siblings, right, so he had been around so many people and like trying to fight for that attention. I don't think it's new to him. Yeah, no, I'll go with Noah's my boy. But he's not afraid of controversy. Let's put it that way. M Who had the who had the purest intentions? That's hard. I honestly don't think many guys had ill intentions. Having said that, I'll go with Ivan hmm, okay, yeah, he seems like that. So swapping that question though, who was there for the wrong reasons? Gosh darn it, you didn't think we're gonna let you go back? Yeah? Who's there for the wrong reasons? I don't know. I don't know, sir. I don't know hot Water enough. Right, listen, Can I tell you what I appreciate about this game? Not in that one question that we asked you, did you name yourself and tell you Spencer? That's pretty humble of you, Whether you meant to do that or not. I appreciate that you didn't name yourself. You made him about the other men in the house. If you weren't name yourself for what would it be. I'll go, I'll go messiest. Okay, taking Noah's place. Yeah, I'll take Noah's place for messiest. He's just say, must be pretty bad because you called him out you being messy as well. It's bad. Um does he smell No, I'm sorry, No, he's got plenty of cologne on. He smells good. Actually, okay, start to ask you, Okay, who smelled the best for I? Just like, I know it's a weird question to ask you, but who did smell good? You know I didn't smell everyone, but I'll go with actually Damar. Okay, I didn't meet him on one of the dates, and I remember one of the dudes feel really good was probably DeMar. Must spend DeMar. They're also all very sweaty. Yeah, like you can't blame them there, Spencer. I feel like you've come on this podcast and you have redeemed yourself. You know, maybe when they say don't judge a book by its cover, we probably shouldn't have done that. You seem like a really nice guy. Um. You know, maybe you know he came in the wrong way, but it seems like you quickly learned the error of your ways. Error of your ways. I would like the thing so well Spencer, thank you for joining us. I have to ask you, is this your first podcast that you've done? First podcast? Oh? Welcome, he's on here. I love it doing with us. Yeah, my grandmother's gonna be pumped. Thanks for having me, Grandma. Hi. Then go back to the group chat and tell them we weren't that hard on you. I feel like people are scared, like, oh gosh, what are they gonna say? It depends, but go back tell them we're great and we're nice. I'll give you a glowing recommendation. Thank you. Oh, thank you. So when they come on here, I'm gonna flip. I'm gonna be totally different, depending under what is yeah fair, Well, you guys are pretty easy on me. So given the fact that you know, I was kind of the villain episode one, so it could be that, well you stuck around, We'll see more of you. We can't wait to watch it all go down. So thanks Spence, we call you Spencummer. Run that level, all right, Spencer. I know I keep saying one more question, but this is the final one before we let you go. We ask every guest on this episode and who has gone through a season, what was your rose? So the highlight and what was your thorn or the low light of the season. Low lights pretty easy. Getting a call to Dickhead by Kenny was definitely the low light. The highlight was also pretty easy, and that's getting the first and pressure house from patient nice. I love you. Didn't anyone hesitate. I love it. This is a man who has learned. I'm telling you, he gets it. He gets it, he knows the mistakes that he made. He's not doing it again at all at all. Yeah, Spencer, thank you so much, seriously for doing this podcast. It was so nice to meet you. We love the road to redemption. We're happy that we're on it. I'll appreciate well, Rachel. Like I said, another day, another dollar, another guests that we were finally getting to know from the Clare and Tatious season. Yeah. I, like we said at the top of the show, I was interested in hearing what Spencer had to say, and I was pleasantly surprised. You know, he gets it, he gets how he came across. He's mortified by it. It seems like the reason that we didn't see much of him is because he kind of was like, you know what, I'm just gonna lay low and stay back, he said, as Thorn was Kenny calling him a dickhead. I think he was like, that couldn't be more wrong, and I'm going to try to do my best to fix a situation. You know, That's what he told us. At least he's learning, and that's the thing. I appreciate somebody who can kind of you know, he didn't read the room right away, I will say that, but then he quickly pivoted to take a step back and be like, oh, there's a lot more going on here. These men have been through so much more than I at this point, and so I'm glad that he can recognize that and admit that listening to him talking actually kind of reminds me of I'm going back to our season. But at Night one, Chelsea Roy got the first impression Rose and everyone thought that she was going to be the villain. Like everyone the first night, they were like, we don't like her. She's robbing everyone the wrong way, she's feeling the batchelor so many times. And we got to know her and we all really loved her and like are still close with her. And so I think about stories like that and it seems so relatable to Spencer, and so I hope that, you know, even though we didn't see much of him in this episode, I really hope it's because he's taking what he's learning and seeing to heart. Yeah, that's a really good comparison. I forgot about how people perceive Chelsea, you know, from the first night, and I'm glad that Spencer was able to explain his side of the story because if we hadn't talked to him, and if you guys hadn't heard him just now, you probably would still be thinking he was the same way you'd have the impression that Kenny had him. So, you know, that's that's what I appreciate about this podcast too, is that we're able to do that. You know, we'll we'll give you the mic and try to let you explain yourself. Not it doesn't always work. Sometimes people still don't get it, but Spencer did. Yeah. Yeah, I'm very glad we had him. It was another good episode, and I like, I'm just excited for these these next episodes that we watched because like we're just getting to really know a lot of these guys, Like we're just starting to take it in and see their personalities, and so I'm so looking forward to the rest of the season. Me too. And it ain't always good. Well we're well, we're finding out, but you know, we're learning. Keep tuning in because we have some really great guys from the season lined up, y'all.
