<v Speaker 5>he's a man of myself that we didn't ask prior. Yeah,
<v Speaker 5>it was only a seven hour show, so we had
<v Speaker 5>a pretty big window to ask for our buddies, we
<v Speaker 5>can get out of there, and we didn't do it.
<v Speaker 1>I should have known when whenever you get to a
<v Speaker 1>building before the ring.
<v Speaker 5>Probably not again sign but either way, the silver lining
<v Speaker 5>of that whole experience is we got to go to
<v Speaker 5>Calowns late night. Andy hooked it up. We had a feast,
<v Speaker 5>and that's like, you know, I guess our careers have
<v Speaker 5>been like two ships to the night. We never really
<v Speaker 5>have really been the same place.
<v Speaker 1>I know, until until recently.
<v Speaker 5>We got to hang out and talk at colloons every
<v Speaker 5>gay time, and then I guess that's when we kind
<v Speaker 5>of realized we had a lot of common interest or
<v Speaker 5>your lifelong wrestling fans or yeah, yeah, so tell us
<v Speaker 5>about that, like growing up for the first time, you
<v Speaker 5>you know, were captivated by pro wrestling.
<v Speaker 1>So for me, and I've I've said this before, but
<v Speaker 1>like so my gateway into pro wrestling was the movie
<v Speaker 1>Rocky three. Uh. It was a huge Rocky fan and
<v Speaker 1>Rocky three especially UH just loved it, loved it. And
<v Speaker 1>I was at the video store as a seven year
<v Speaker 1>old boy, whatever it was, and I saw WrestleMania one
<v Speaker 1>the cassette, the VHS tape, and on the cover was
<v Speaker 1>Thunderlips and Clever Lang. I didn't know it was mister
<v Speaker 1>t and Hlkok and I didn't know who before I thought,
<v Speaker 1>and I was like, this is like a Thunderlips origin store.
<v Speaker 4>What is this?
<v Speaker 1>I had no idea. I've never heard me and my
<v Speaker 1>cousin because I had no because I only knew them
<v Speaker 1>from Rocky and so my mom rented it for me,
<v Speaker 1>popped the tape in and it was like, oh, pro wrestling, okay,
<v Speaker 1>this is you know, I'm probably into this. I like
<v Speaker 1>comic books, I like Star Wars like you know. And
<v Speaker 1>Tito Santana Versy the executioner saw that first match hooked.
<v Speaker 1>And when I say hooked, I grew up in the eighties, obviously,
<v Speaker 1>I was all in, obsessive just anything WWF. I could
<v Speaker 1>get my hands on literally anything. I was all consuming, dude,
<v Speaker 1>and it just and I never grew out of it.
<v Speaker 5>Were you and kid? Yeah?
<v Speaker 1>J And so those those toys came out right, like
<v Speaker 1>that's right when those toys dropped. And I remember for
<v Speaker 1>my birthday that year, I got my first figure since
<v Speaker 1>I think we talked about that a little.
<v Speaker 4>Bit on this podcast in a place was the was
<v Speaker 4>the was the.
<v Speaker 1>Iron Cheek lg in cool? And it was? And it
<v Speaker 1>was it was cool because it wasn't the whole Cogan,
<v Speaker 1>it was the it was the Iron Cheek. So I
<v Speaker 1>had the bad guy, and so I had to get
<v Speaker 1>the good guy. And so so Iron Cheek was my
<v Speaker 1>first one. And uh and yeah, and I uh literally
<v Speaker 1>had probably every nine of them. Some of the later
<v Speaker 1>issues that I couldn't get my hands on that.
<v Speaker 5>I had eight people realized some of those were only
<v Speaker 5>in Canada.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah okay, later ones were just in Canada, like the
<v Speaker 4>Black Cards and stuff.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah okay, okay, Yeah, So I never had Warrior, but
<v Speaker 1>like so for me, it was you know, on the
<v Speaker 1>back of the box, they showed you who was in
<v Speaker 1>that series. And then as I got all those series,
<v Speaker 1>like when you would get I would send away, I
<v Speaker 1>would send proof of purchases away and I would LGN
<v Speaker 1>would send me little catalogs and I would showcase all
<v Speaker 1>the new ones and they're like these little, tiny, like
<v Speaker 1>color catalogs and had all their toys, like the mask
<v Speaker 1>toys and all the wall of things, and then and
<v Speaker 1>then the wrestlers and it was the new line and
<v Speaker 1>it was like, oh, that was how you first that
<v Speaker 1>was how you first saw him. Was like, oh, they're
<v Speaker 1>making st.
<v Speaker 4>Jones.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, they're making Corporal Kursher, they're making ten or CD,
<v Speaker 1>which those the choices of those alone that's a whole
<v Speaker 1>nother topic. But but it was like, wow, that was
<v Speaker 1>the first time you saw him, and it's like can
<v Speaker 1>you just see him in stores for months? And when
<v Speaker 1>you finally did, it was like, oh, you're salivating.
<v Speaker 5>So that's interest because like most kids like in that era,
<v Speaker 5>you were like almost ahead of your time to even
<v Speaker 5>have that like connection because most people just go, you know,
<v Speaker 5>you turn the corner the eyland go.
<v Speaker 1>What yeah, yeah, you know. I had the catalog, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>but but it was like I didn't see in person
<v Speaker 1>until I saw them there and all their shiny glory.
<v Speaker 5>You know, people they don't realize I spoiled you know,
<v Speaker 5>fan fast aw, they show you everything that's coming out.
<v Speaker 5>For a year and a half, it was almost like
<v Speaker 5>no surprises, you know what I mean, Like and you're
<v Speaker 5>seeing like digital renders of these things before they're even
<v Speaker 5>a real product there.
<v Speaker 1>And it was like in the store. I grew up
<v Speaker 1>in a small town in southern California, and the stores
<v Speaker 1>I went into it had like, you know, it had
<v Speaker 1>cheap vulcoff, Piper, Hibby Jim and Junk your Dog every
<v Speaker 1>week every week. And I went in there and there's
<v Speaker 1>there's big John Studd. Oh my god. It was like,
<v Speaker 1>you know, just because because I knew what was in
<v Speaker 1>there and I knew what I wanted to so it
<v Speaker 1>was it was spectacular.
<v Speaker 5>Wow. So you collected other stuff, other toys as.
<v Speaker 1>A kid, Yeah, I collected other toys. I mean I was,
<v Speaker 1>you know, like I get a kid of the eighties.
<v Speaker 1>So I was into Star Wars. I was into Marble,
<v Speaker 1>you know, all the stuff I'm still into. But we
<v Speaker 1>just didn't grow up, no, And that's just it never
<v Speaker 1>grew out of it.
<v Speaker 5>It's like if you love for Rest and I think
<v Speaker 5>that it's the boy wonder of it, I think, you
<v Speaker 5>know what I mean. I always tell myself if I
<v Speaker 5>if I lose that, then why am I doing this?
<v Speaker 5>Because it's so hard and so weird and difficult.
<v Speaker 1>I'm convinced this keeps us young.
<v Speaker 6>Dude.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, I like, you're whatever age you got into
<v Speaker 3>the business at, you're that age forever.
<v Speaker 5>That sounds about it. I just scrolled through the fan questions.
<v Speaker 5>Someone's question was like, yeah, how are you the same
<v Speaker 5>age forever? Or they're like, what's your sect?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, so I got in when I was twenty nineteen twenty.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, we're superture a little bit, you get families, little
<v Speaker 3>bit of a dog, but like, yeah, I mean last night.
<v Speaker 4>We're out to like Thwough the morning hotel, like drink
<v Speaker 4>and there were like.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, we're grown telling ridiculous stories.
<v Speaker 5>I'm wishing nothing yet.

<v Speaker 1>I felt normal laughing over the dumbest stuff ever. But
<v Speaker 1>uh no, I agree. I did collect other stuff, uh DC, Marvel,
<v Speaker 1>Toy Star Wars, but like again, I was so obsessed
<v Speaker 1>with wrestling it was like that was it. I remember
<v Speaker 1>specifically with LGN, like, uh, I don't you guys would
<v Speaker 1>know this better than I did. But when they came
<v Speaker 1>out with a blue cage, like I don't was that
<v Speaker 1>available in stores because I had to send away for it.
<v Speaker 4>He had it.
<v Speaker 5>I never had it. I just got it, like last year.
<v Speaker 5>I didn't have a kid.
<v Speaker 1>I sent away and it came. I ordered that and
<v Speaker 1>it came, and I also ordered the Bulldogs, so I got.
<v Speaker 1>I came home from school one day and I had
<v Speaker 1>this big pack. You know, the blue cage in the
<v Speaker 1>Bulldog of Dude. Unbelievable. But I don't remember. I don't
<v Speaker 1>remember that ever. I mean just remember them seeing I
<v Speaker 1>never saw it in a store, so I had as.
<v Speaker 3>A kid, But I don't know if I got it
<v Speaker 3>like secondhand or had a garage cellar in a store.
<v Speaker 4>I was so young. I know I had it. I
<v Speaker 4>just don't know how I got it or where I got.
<v Speaker 5>It's a quality item I just got. It's very thick
<v Speaker 5>and durable for those figures and whatnot. Yeah, the door
<v Speaker 5>is like a misconception because it doesn't work, but.
<v Speaker 4>The door open, it's like right there, just like let
<v Speaker 4>it articulate a little bit.
<v Speaker 1>I like the blue cage, but I never had to
<v Speaker 1>work in it, so I understand why Guy's stone.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I couldn't imagine bumping on it dance sounds like a nightmare. Yeah.
<v Speaker 4>Did you ever try to kill anybody with a King
<v Speaker 4>Kong Bundy?
<v Speaker 1>J Oh yeah, because it was like a brick.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, It's basically like, yeah, pretty pretty stiff ski.

<v Speaker 1>pistol up somebody with one of those like a ted
<v Speaker 1>RCD or something.
<v Speaker 5>Or another questionable addition to the line teed r CD.
<v Speaker 5>Did we really need that?

<v Speaker 5>Like you play with these things that you were you
<v Speaker 5>like you had what we would call a fig fed
<v Speaker 5>like you're you're in charge of what's going on storyline.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, so we did that and then really got into
<v Speaker 1>it on that level when the hasbro.
<v Speaker 5>My next question, did this evolve to that?
<v Speaker 1>And I was so obsessed with it, like I would
<v Speaker 1>you know, you know, we'd have our matches, Me and
<v Speaker 1>my buddy would come over and like, you know, like
<v Speaker 1>I would put together my half the card, he would
<v Speaker 1>book his half of the card, you know, and like
<v Speaker 1>we would go back and forth my matches.
<v Speaker 5>I never heard this mark of the same thing about
<v Speaker 5>him and his buddy, like a yeah, that was a situation.
<v Speaker 1>I would book my matches and you book his and
<v Speaker 1>like I would do commentary for his matches and he
<v Speaker 1>would do commentary for my match. Wow, and the things
<v Speaker 1>I would get so pissed off at him because like
<v Speaker 1>when he was when he was having his matches, I
<v Speaker 1>was all in. I was like, look at that. Oh
<v Speaker 1>he reversed hiptos a close over the toe, and like,
<v Speaker 1>I was so into it. And when he was doing mine,
<v Speaker 1>he would be mailing it in. So I'd be and
<v Speaker 1>he and he, and he'd be like, oh, it's but
<v Speaker 1>the thing I go.
<v Speaker 5>The thing.
<v Speaker 1>The thing way that that was a polish hammer. It's
<v Speaker 1>like your man, Dude. I would get mad at my
<v Speaker 1>friend for not doing commentary correctly on my stupid toy match.
<v Speaker 1>But yeah, and dude, and then when the again I'm
<v Speaker 1>a little bit older than you guys, but w W
<v Speaker 1>A fan club was the thing, and they okay, and
<v Speaker 1>they would send you like your your sign up package
<v Speaker 1>every year, and they started including the tapes of the
<v Speaker 1>entrance and it was like, dude, now we have entrance music.
<v Speaker 1>So it's like the first one was like ultimate Owyer,
<v Speaker 1>Jimmy Snook, like a couple of some they were pretty shitty,
<v Speaker 1>but uh, but it was like doesn't matter. It's like
<v Speaker 1>we have interest music and I was like coming to
<v Speaker 1>the ring play. Yeah, so it really evolved.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, that was it's still the best.
<v Speaker 1>What's what's quick question? Best entrance music ever of that era,
<v Speaker 1>of that era, but I was just yeah.
<v Speaker 5>I love Texas Tornado for some reason.
<v Speaker 4>That's okay, all right, I just love Hogans. It's on

<v Speaker 1>come over a couple hours la because we'd have we
<v Speaker 1>do the pay per view with the with the guys
<v Speaker 1>before the pay per view, you know, like we're all
<v Speaker 1>rumbles were hard to do because you got.
<v Speaker 5>To combine your figures. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, well, like we always had the same pretty much
<v Speaker 1>the same. But like I remember with the Hasbro ones,
<v Speaker 1>my buddy had Demolition and I couldn't find them anywhere.
<v Speaker 1>So I'm like, hey, can you bring your Demolition and
<v Speaker 1>guys because like the like with the LGN guys. Going
<v Speaker 1>back to that, I remember I I loved Ultimate Oire
<v Speaker 1>and why don't you make an ultim oyre doll toy
<v Speaker 1>figure sorry doll whatever, And I was like.

<v Speaker 1>for Ultimate o Wire a little customed there. I was like, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I was like, yeah, Paul was jacked. So I painted
<v Speaker 1>his face. I painted extra long brown hair on his back.
<v Speaker 1>I put I put this cut these little vinyl and
<v Speaker 1>put tassels. But yeah, but so you know, me and
<v Speaker 1>my friends had pretty much the same guys. But you know,
<v Speaker 1>I if I had something he did, he'd bring just
<v Speaker 1>those guys over. They were like, you know, we we
<v Speaker 1>both bring bring your Hogan over because his mind's a
<v Speaker 1>little beat.
<v Speaker 5>Up and speaker.
<v Speaker 3>That's like if I played very hard, So I'd go
<v Speaker 3>to my friend's house and I'd swap him out to
<v Speaker 3>get like a mint or one.
<v Speaker 4>You know, like my Warrior always the trunks. War always
<v Speaker 4>had like the black nose. So if I messed up
<v Speaker 4>the nose, I'll switch it out.
<v Speaker 1>You know, there's a couple I had to double up.
<v Speaker 1>I did my LGN Hogan. I had to get two
<v Speaker 1>or three of them. I had the one white pants
<v Speaker 1>and I had the one with the white with the
<v Speaker 1>white variant. That's a cool one.
<v Speaker 4>I love that Mattel just made that figure.
<v Speaker 3>Like again, I saw that pretty like in saying that
<v Speaker 3>they're going back to that line. They just did the
<v Speaker 3>Terry Funk logan. They're doing Jake and Rick Rude. They're
<v Speaker 3>pretty like, that's pretty nuts. They're articulated, like yeah, you know,
<v Speaker 3>just as as cool as like any new figure. But
<v Speaker 3>it's in that old style, the old paint.

<v Speaker 4>It's supposed to be an LJA and look at the
<v Speaker 4>l J. Sure.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, yeah, I did see that one.

<v Speaker 1>I also did a custom Hogan back in the day
<v Speaker 1>because one uh Saturday Night's main event, he wore like
<v Speaker 1>turquoise trunks, like yeah, but this is long before that.

<v Speaker 5>Eighty six, like like that.
<v Speaker 1>Exclusive tuoise with white and I don't know if he
<v Speaker 1>I think yeah, I think he wrestled Harry Funk that night.
<v Speaker 1>It was a sand Night's main event. It was like
<v Speaker 1>one of the first Saturdays and Hogan's wearing turquoise and
<v Speaker 1>I never saw it before since, but I thought it
<v Speaker 1>looked so cool. So I painted a turquoise you know.
<v Speaker 5>So I'm gonna fast forward pretty far into let's do it.
<v Speaker 5>Your first action figure comes pretty deep into your career.
<v Speaker 5>Is this like a big milestone video are peeking out of?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah?
<v Speaker 1>I mean so like my first we're talking about my
<v Speaker 1>T and A one. Yeah, Okay, So yeah, that Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I was. However, and I think I've talked about this,
<v Speaker 1>like that particular day they photographed like I was just
<v Speaker 1>doing the suicide character, just came back as myself and
<v Speaker 1>they photographed me and like my hair was in a
<v Speaker 1>weird length. We've been that that image of me is
<v Speaker 1>what they used for my action figure. I looked like
<v Speaker 1>that for like one week of my life and that's
<v Speaker 1>what they used for my action figure. So uh so,
<v Speaker 1>you know, the bitter scumbag of music would they use
<v Speaker 1>that look? But like when the guy, like I was
<v Speaker 1>friendly with the guy at the time, he sent me
<v Speaker 1>the actual prototype of my guy and I still have.
<v Speaker 4>It, and it was like that's pretty cool.
<v Speaker 5>It's cool.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I have that put away and uh, you know,
<v Speaker 1>seeing it the first time was like, yeah, man, this
<v Speaker 1>is this is this is cool. And then when my
<v Speaker 1>most recent one came out, I think, you know, I
<v Speaker 1>appreciated it a lot more because like I have a
<v Speaker 1>son now, yeah, and you know, like going to a
<v Speaker 1>store and seeing it, it's like it's it's surreal, Like
<v Speaker 1>you guys probably experienced it too. It's just like this
<v Speaker 1>is cool, man.
<v Speaker 5>You can take away from you right, you know what
<v Speaker 5>I mean it's just we get it, you know.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, really, you're next to like Darth Vader. They're
<v Speaker 3>still making Darth Vader's, you know, like you're you can
<v Speaker 3>technically be on the same shelf.
<v Speaker 1>Vader grew up in those toy aisles, and now our
<v Speaker 1>likeness is in those toy Yeah. Sometimes you know, we
<v Speaker 1>don't see the forest for the trees.
<v Speaker 5>But yeah, this just sparked something in my mind. Do
<v Speaker 5>you count suicide merchandise as like your merchandise?
<v Speaker 1>Oh damn well, I think it came royalty wise, yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>paid for accounts yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, but uh that
<v Speaker 1>that figure was yeah, I mean I don't I have
<v Speaker 1>that one, but I don't.
<v Speaker 5>Cool Actually, yeah, that's what we would say is toy
<v Speaker 5>because very different compar to like Joe Schmo and Trunk.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, I was the guy that was photographed for
<v Speaker 1>the action figure and for all that. Because I was
<v Speaker 1>I wasn't count that. Yeah, so that's.
<v Speaker 5>Kind of a unique thing. Yeah yeah, and she was
<v Speaker 5>not Atlanta merch.
<v Speaker 1>He didn't yeah, t shirts until they realized that you
<v Speaker 1>can't sell something and says suicide on it.
<v Speaker 5>So they six months ago, and why it took so
<v Speaker 5>long even when I came here to we're still this
<v Speaker 5>guy because he'd been like nine people at this Yeah. Yeah,

<v Speaker 1>all those and kept him in the package and then
