00:00:01 Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome back to Bachelor Happy Hour. 00:00:04 Speaker 2: I'm Rachel and filling in for charity. 00:00:07 Speaker 1: Today we have the one and only Golden Bachelorette, Joan is here with us. And today we have one of our most anticipated guests. 00:00:15 Speaker 2: We have Emily Maynard. 00:00:17 Speaker 1: We are so excited to have her here today. Bachelor Nation loves her. We love her. And so before we get into all that, Joan, you are in pouchacana. 00:00:27 Speaker 3: Hello, thank you for having me. I'm dressed like not like I'm in the winter climate like I usually I am. Chalk is right out here on the balcony with me. We're having a couple of days vacations. So I'm happy to be here with you. But I'm also happy to be in some warm. 00:00:40 Speaker 1: And you look and you look fantastic. I just saw you in some not so warm and fantastic weather. 00:00:48 Speaker 2: We got to catch up. 00:00:50 Speaker 1: I caught a cold, so if anyone hears my voice, I apologize. 00:00:54 Speaker 2: Thank God. 00:00:54 Speaker 3: Yeah you're so terrible batch. Yes I didn't get it, but I think we were at all the same places together. I think the only thing you did different than me is you got that massage while I was doing I do Part two that's where you got it. Yes, Otherwise we were together the whole time. But that was so fun. We got to be with all the cool people from all reality TV. 00:01:16 Speaker 2: I feel like, I know, literally we had so much fun. 00:01:19 Speaker 1: And anytime I get to hang out with Joan and Trista, I feel so good. 00:01:24 Speaker 2: You guys are so much fun. 00:01:27 Speaker 1: I don't think people realize how much fun we have on these trips. 00:01:30 Speaker 3: We do. I mean, if they captured it all in film, people would be like knocking down the door trying to get these indates. So let's not like let anybody really know, because we love doing this and we're so lucky that we get to get invited to these things, and like to be in San Francisco during the super Bowl is such a treat. There's so much energy and so much going on. I love being there. And that whole radio row I'd never been to that. That's a production. 00:01:51 Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, it was so overwhelming. It was crazy. 00:01:55 Speaker 3: It was crazy. It was fun. 00:01:56 Speaker 2: Joan, what have you? And chalkmen up to. 00:02:00 Speaker 3: Vacation right now. We were laying this and we had a couple of nice dinners and we're only here for like a quick turnaround because we could be in La to do something else on the end of this week. So we are just here like doing a couple of days and it's beautiful and it's just like nice to be away from the freezing cold. And he and I haven't seen each other in like three weeks, so it's time we got back together. So we're still together even if you haven't seen pictures of us. I'm going to really try hard to get a cute picture of us tonight. But like you know, like I always say, we're living in the moment, so we're really bad about social media, and I got to do better. 00:02:31 Speaker 1: I know. 00:02:32 Speaker 2: No, Joan, you don't have to prove anything to anyone. 00:02:34 Speaker 1: You and Chalk are vacationing, you are having a great time. You're protecting your relationship. I'm so here for it, and I don't want to keep you long because I'm sure you want to get back to the sun. So let's get into some little bit bachelor stuff. 00:02:49 Speaker 3: I would love that, And in fact, I would love to talk about Taylor Frankie Paul's new promo that just came out, and even the key art, it is so different than anything we've ever seen. What do you think about it. 00:03:01 Speaker 1: Well, I want you to go first, because I think our opinions might be a little bit different. 00:03:06 Speaker 2: I want to know what you liked, what you didn't like. 00:03:10 Speaker 3: So I love that we are not trying to make this something that's not like, we're not trying to pretend that Taylor is this typical bachelotte that we've all been for so many years. Kind of we're trying to be perfect. We're trying to be, you know, kind of wholesome and pure and have like perfect uneventful or un like there's no drama in our lives. And then we have Taylor and she is full of drama, and they're not trying to hard it, you know, heide it. They even like have the headlines out there and they have her talking about herself and how she doesn't think she's good enough. I mean, they are giving us so many glimpses of what we're going to see when she's actually on TV and we're watching episodes. I kind of love it. I feel like we're like embracing what we what they cast and they had to do that. 00:03:58 Speaker 2: What did you think about the key RT like her poster? 00:04:02 Speaker 3: I thought it was really cute. I don't even know what my poster looked like. To tell you the truth, I know you remember, I don't think i've ever seen it, to be honest, I want. 00:04:11 Speaker 2: You in my house. 00:04:12 Speaker 3: Oh god, it's probably not gonna be pretty. I don't think there is. 00:04:15 Speaker 2: One gorgeous I don't know about that. 00:04:19 Speaker 3: Yours is so good. I hope you have a picture of yours. But hers is very telling, Like how about the little square that said instead of mom talk, it says the Book Mormon, the Book of Mormon. 00:04:34 Speaker 2: I'm okay, I love her. I loved that. 00:04:38 Speaker 1: I think though, Okay, I think there's so much pressure for Taylor to like revive this front, like revive the franchise, just be different. But they gave her this key art, this promo cover, and it kind of looks like do you remember that AI trend that was going around where it was like people and it was like they were barbies and then it was like their accessor why did we do it like AI looking key art for someone that like needs to turn this franchise around. 00:05:08 Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, I get that totally. I think they're just trying to give like all the pieces of her life, like they did the Mom and they did like you know, the more men, and they like put her crocs there, Like I think that people don't know that she's like super casual, that she doesn't dress up in evening gowns. She if you look at her secret life and Warmon Wives, they are a lot of times in sweats and inn like workout gear, and I think that they are just nodding to all the things are so different from Bachelor in the past, like all those evening gowns where we dressed up like this is not the tailor, this is not the typical bachelotte, and I think they're trying to lean into that and show that. 00:05:45 Speaker 1: I will say, and I'm not sure how Taylor feels. This is all just me speaking, and I know that this is pretty much out of Taylor's hands. Actually, I don't know. She might have had more say. I had absolutely no say in my key art in my promo. But I think the one thing I wanted when I came in was I wanted to feel like the bachelorette and I wanted to have this fantasy. 00:06:07 Speaker 2: And I think she's like. 00:06:08 Speaker 1: Not able to escape the Mormon Wives like part of it. This is a totally different franchise. She agreed to be the bachelorette, and it feels like this is kind of like following her and I'm just like watching all these clips of her on Mormon Wives, like she I don't feel like she wants that to be what her season's really about. It's a part of her, her kids are a part of her, her faith is. But do I want to see like clips of her crying over Dakota in her promo? I don't, personally I want to see something rest see. 00:06:40 Speaker 3: Yeah, I do see your point of view there that we're like this almost looks like a spin off of Mormon Wives as opposed to a bachelor thing. Okay, I get it. I get it. 00:06:50 Speaker 1: I totally do. 00:06:51 Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe we're just trying to get all that out of the way in the beginning, Like I acknowledge it, Okay, and now let's let's go and see her fall in love. 00:06:58 Speaker 2: I get it. 00:06:59 Speaker 1: And like I liked the the look what she made me do. I'm sure I can't even imagine the amount of money they paid to get. 00:07:05 Speaker 2: Like all the money went to get that. 00:07:07 Speaker 1: Song, and I loved like that there it is the glass cracking. 00:07:10 Speaker 2: I think they could have done it. 00:07:12 Speaker 1: Like my favorite promo of all time is Michelle Young's and how it went from like she was playing basketball and then she was a teacher and then she was in this beautiful ball gown and it was so well done. And I wish Taylor would have gotten something similar. 00:07:25 Speaker 3: To that, where it was like, maybe it's not Chisy. 00:07:28 Speaker 1: Maybe it's not and she was, you know, she was in her sweats, which I'm sure she loved, but I would like to know she also kind of wanted to be like, all right, I'm. 00:07:36 Speaker 2: Also the bachelorette and this is like my promo. 00:07:39 Speaker 1: Yeah, so maybe it is up to her. I'm just kind of comparing it to the bachelorettes of the past. She is so different, and again I don't know how much, say probably. 00:07:49 Speaker 2: Not any that she got, but I just want. 00:07:52 Speaker 1: The best for her, and I wanted her promo to be like jaw dropping. 00:07:55 Speaker 3: Iconic, elegant, elegant and classy and not a nod to all this like crazy stuff that like her past is all about, like that's all we know about right now, you know. I see that maybe she could have gotten the clean start a little bit. I just don't think that bachelor Misson would have bought it. I think they would be like, we know what the past is, and you're trying to make her look like something she's not. 00:08:18 Speaker 1: Possibly Well, Taylor, We're excited we have Yes, today, we have one of our most anticipated guests. We have someone that is so legendary, one of my favorite bacheorettes of all time. We are about to bring on Emily Maynard. I'm so excited, Joan, how are you feeling. 00:08:43 Speaker 3: I can't wait to talk to her. I got to know her a little bit when we did our little reunion of all the former bachelorettes, but I am dying to like really dive into things and talk to her today. 00:08:52 Speaker 2: Yes, so let's welcome in Emily. 00:08:56 Speaker 3: Hi, Emily, Welcome to Happy Hour. We are so excit to have you. 00:09:00 Speaker 1: I think you are one of our most anticipated guests. 00:09:04 Speaker 2: I think I could speak for all of bachelination. 00:09:06 Speaker 1: You are one of the most iconic bacherettes of all times. 00:09:10 Speaker 2: So we are so happy to have you here. 00:09:12 Speaker 4: Thank you again, Thank you so much. 00:09:15 Speaker 3: I feel like this has been such a long time coming, but like it's kind of a reunion for us because we just saw each other a few months ago at the bachelorette reunion for Taylor season. I think we should really talk about that. 00:09:29 Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure. 00:09:30 Speaker 1: I think the last time you guys had a reunion was it seven years ago? 00:09:34 Speaker 3: Yeah? 00:09:35 Speaker 5: I I want to say it was right before Hannah season, so twenty nineteen, right, yeah you have. 00:09:43 Speaker 1: I mean had so many exciting updates since then, and. 00:09:46 Speaker 2: I can't wait to touch on all of them. 00:09:49 Speaker 1: But I guess coming back for the second time, how did it feel. 00:09:54 Speaker 4: Coming back for the second time? Was? It was so much fun. 00:09:58 Speaker 5: I got to see everybody meet all of you younger girls, which was awesome. 00:10:06 Speaker 4: Oh no, newer, newer, I say, but you look younger, so. 00:10:10 Speaker 3: There's no place. 00:10:13 Speaker 5: But it was funny because as we were all coming down to the lobby of the hotel. You know, I've kind of fallen off from watching the show for a while, and so I'm sure the feeling was mutual from the newer people. But like, the only reason I knew that a lot of them were bachelorettes was because of the bright red. 00:10:33 Speaker 4: Jumpsuits we were wearing. I'm sure they were like, who is this lady? 00:10:37 Speaker 3: But I don't think anybody said that about you, to be honest, I think you have one of the iconic seasons. In fact, I went back when I when I got the Bachelorette gig, I went back and watched your season because you did it so well, and you're the only other person that had been on it as a mother, So I love that your story is very different than mine. But I did love that you came with like like an extra element to your life, like you had lived a little more than probably a lot of your contestant. 00:11:06 Speaker 4: Well, thank you so much. 00:11:09 Speaker 5: Yeah, they you know, asked you to go back and remember some of the times from your Bachelorette season, and honestly, like, I. 00:11:17 Speaker 4: Don't remember a ton is that right? 00:11:21 Speaker 3: Yeah? 00:11:21 Speaker 5: I I anytime, like sometimes that you'll be on TikTok or Instagram and they'll have like throwback whatever, and it'll be, you know, a little clip of me in a bunch of a lot of different clips, and I just want to hide it's. 00:11:39 Speaker 6: Oh. 00:11:39 Speaker 3: I loved your season. I know it's hard to watch yourself. I'm sure Rachel you feel the same way, and I know you do, only that it's weird to watch yourself, and I kind of agree a little bit. I've forgotten a lot of things. I did on my season, and mine wasn't that long ago. 00:11:53 Speaker 5: Yeah, I didn't remember a lot of the dates. 00:11:58 Speaker 4: I think it's God's protection, honestly. 00:12:02 Speaker 1: Yeah, well, of course I remembered you, Emily. I think you have just had so many iconic moments the world fall in love with you and your story. Like Joan said, you are a mother and the new bachelorette, Taylor is a mother as well, so I was curious each of us got to kind of go off and have a conversation with her. What conversations were you involved with with Taylor? 00:12:31 Speaker 5: We talked about her daughter or her kids being there and my daughter being with me during filming. I wasn't sure at that point in her season if they were able to travel with her or what. But Ricky was able to travel with me a lot, which was awesome, and I was really really grateful that they let me do that. But honestly, do y'all remember we're in of y'all in my conversations, I. 00:13:02 Speaker 1: Was in the failure of conversation but doing things wrong, so you were obviously not in my conversation. But I feel like you had some iconic like lead takedown moments on your season. 00:13:17 Speaker 2: Things that Taylor might face. 00:13:18 Speaker 1: Did you talk to her about any of that, like the men possibly saying things about her children? 00:13:25 Speaker 5: Honestly, every I mean, I hate to say this, every conversation I was in. 00:13:30 Speaker 4: I am not like a. 00:13:33 Speaker 5: When I get in the room full of all of you ladies, I kind of go into my own little shell I was. I kind of just sat back and listened a lot, because a lot of the girls they are not that way, so I did not want to. I didn't really talk to Taylor a lot. I didn't talk to her at all one on one, and I figured if she had any questions about it, she could have asked me. But I I didn't really talk to her much. 00:14:00 Speaker 3: Did you give her any advice that you could think of being in kind of the same situation as she as she was, because you were one of the only people that could actually give her, like a real, coming from experience kind of advice. 00:14:11 Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I think I told her just to kind of forget that you're a mom for a minute. I know that that's probably the opposite advice that most people would give, but. 00:14:23 Speaker 4: In my head a lot was, well, what are they going to say? I can't do this? I a mom. I can't do this, I'm a mom. But it's truly the only time in. 00:14:30 Speaker 5: My life since I was like before I had Rickie, so since I was eighteen, that I didn't have somebody asking me to open up a fruit snack. I didn't have to worry about flushing anybody else's toilet. So I really took advantage of that. 00:14:45 Speaker 3: I love that. Did you feel like Taylor was doing the same thing? 00:14:49 Speaker 4: I hope? So, yeah, I hope. 00:14:51 Speaker 1: So. 00:14:52 Speaker 5: I mean I watched her on Mormon Wives, so I feel like she. 00:14:59 Speaker 4: Has a balance. 00:15:02 Speaker 3: There's three kids, so I bet it was really kind of a vacation being away from her kids a little bit. I know that I have four, but mine are all grown. But I remember five minutes just in the bathroom without somebody bothering you was like a treat. So yes, yeah, being away for that amount of time, I'm sure you miss them a lot. But it's also a little like you get a chance to breathe and maybe like get back in touch with yourself, which is what you really mean when you're on a show like this. 00:15:25 Speaker 5: Yeah, like really figure out what is important to you and who you are. I learned a lot about myself during that whole process. Just things that I like about myself, things I don't like about myself. And I always, even whenever I was on the Bachelor and going into the Bachelorette, I told everybody to journal because I it was like the only way I could get my feelings out because there might there was so much going on in my brain that I just had to write a lot. And that would be my advice for like a lot of the other Bachelorettes going forward, is to journal, like on those long lights. 00:16:00 Speaker 4: Just journal. 00:16:01 Speaker 5: And what a gift it is for me one hundred years later to be able to go back and reread like all. 00:16:06 Speaker 4: This nonsense and funny stuff that I forgot. 00:16:09 Speaker 1: Yeah, I was going to ask if you still had any of your journals. 00:16:12 Speaker 4: Oh, I saved, literally, I'm I am. 00:16:15 Speaker 5: I throw everything away, but I save like sentimental things. So I still have. Like one of the guys gave me bobbleheads the first night. I still have those. I saved, Like my room keys I saved. I stole a robe from the Green Briar. I still use that regularly. 00:16:36 Speaker 2: Still I. 00:16:38 Speaker 3: Still have, but I could stop. 00:16:41 Speaker 5: I still have so much stuff for my season. I saw all my journals, anything, any letter anybody wrote me. 00:16:47 Speaker 4: I saved it. 00:16:50 Speaker 3: Yeah, I have all that up too. 00:16:52 Speaker 2: But did you get to keep any of your clothes? 00:16:54 Speaker 1: I know, back in the day, Carrie said the Bachelor's got to keep like shoes. 00:16:58 Speaker 5: I did so once still was over. I got a shipment. You know, those like giant suitcases that you travel with. Yeah, they just I had like eight suitcases and uh yeah everything. 00:17:12 Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I got some of mine. 00:17:14 Speaker 3: I got a good chunk of mind. None of the evening gowns, but I got a lot of other stuff. Rachel, did you get I'm sure you got some of yourself. 00:17:20 Speaker 1: I think I have a couple parachutes. And that's really I know. I know I need to go back and ask for some more. But Emily, I do have one more question, just going back a little bit. Uh. I feel like I was kind of similar at the reunion. There were so many big personalities in the room. It was kind of like hard to get a word in. Is there anyone out of the bachelorette that you're still close with that you were like excited to see again? 00:17:45 Speaker 2: I love Andy, she's the bus. 00:17:48 Speaker 5: Yeah, I love Andy. I got to meet Tasia, and I really liked her. I got to meet Hannah. I mean, all these girls you feel like you know each other just from social media and all of that. So I felt like I knew Hannah. I really love Rachel Lindsay. She always makes me laugh. And I mean I really love all of the girls. 00:18:13 Speaker 2: They are like such a good group. 00:18:15 Speaker 1: We are, I think, so lucky to have our little bachelortte family. Do you think Hannah's season was about when you stopped watching? I feel like that's the normal like cut off we normally hear. 00:18:25 Speaker 4: I stopped watching after my season. 00:18:28 Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, wait, I kind of love that. 00:18:30 Speaker 2: It's hard to watch back. 00:18:31 Speaker 3: Yeah, so you didn't watch any guys coming off of your show? 00:18:36 Speaker 4: No? 00:18:36 Speaker 2: No, wow? 00:18:38 Speaker 3: No interesting? 00:18:40 Speaker 5: And two of my guys have been the Bachelor since then, I know. And I didn't watch either. My husband watched it, so yeah, I just and and you did is I had I had babies pretty soon after my season was over, so that was just too late for me to be yet. 00:19:03 Speaker 4: I don't have two hours. 00:19:07 Speaker 2: We lived yet, we don't need to rewatch it. 00:19:10 Speaker 4: Yeah. 00:19:10 Speaker 3: I haven't watched mine either. Yeah, I have never watched it. 00:19:14 Speaker 5: I don't even want Ricky to watch it. I'm sure she's seen like clips here and there. 00:19:19 Speaker 4: But we don't talk about that. Oh that's so funny. 00:19:24 Speaker 3: I feel like you did such a good job. You should be proud about how you did it. You were so elegant and mature at such a really young age, and you had a lot of responsibility in your life, and you just like juggled everything so well, and I feel like you should be really proud of it. I know you don't want to watch it. I know it's for me to watch mine back, but I just feel like if I were you, I would have been really proud of like what I did. 00:19:45 Speaker 4: Thank you so much for saying that and talking about kids. 00:19:48 Speaker 3: I mean, so you are a mom, obviously, you have a huge family. I only have four, and I always think I'm like an albatrosh. You have six kids, and now you're a grandma, and I feel like you and I are the only grandpa grandmothers in doctor world. How do you juggle that? How do you juggle having your own babies and then also being a grandma. 00:20:08 Speaker 5: Well she's not even three weeks old yet, so I'm still trying to figure it out. I will say, like I I've never been the mom that like just sits and rocks her babies all day long, Like that's just not my personality. 00:20:24 Speaker 3: And so. 00:20:27 Speaker 5: Romy's dad, his parents will come over and that's her name Formy, which is. 00:20:31 Speaker 4: Funny because it's JoJo's baby's name. 00:20:34 Speaker 1: Too. 00:20:36 Speaker 2: Beautiful Morning. 00:20:37 Speaker 5: So whatever Micky was growing up was always like Emily and Ricky, so she wanted Ricky and Romy. 00:20:44 Speaker 2: But anyway, I think it's perfect. 00:20:46 Speaker 3: It's a really witch over and just hold her, just hold the baby. 00:20:50 Speaker 4: And I'm like, you're gonna to your grandma than me, Oh my god, Oh. 00:20:53 Speaker 3: No, no, no, baby. They need all of the grandma stuff. So if you're like the action grandma, that's good. I'm the holding grandma. I'm a little bit of both. But I love holding a baby. It's probably my favorite thing to do in the entire world. 00:21:05 Speaker 5: I like like getting up with her at night, and I love all of that. But I just have too much stuff going on and like too much things, too many things in my brain, and my kids are always yelling at me that if I had they to sit all day and just maybe I would, but it's just I don't have time for that, and I'm not. 00:21:22 Speaker 4: Too far removed from the baby stage that I miss it yet. 00:21:25 Speaker 3: Yeah, I was about that. 00:21:28 Speaker 2: He just turned three. 00:21:29 Speaker 4: Yeah, he just turned three, and he's a dream and just so much fun. 00:21:34 Speaker 3: What's your what's your grandma name? Are you like a like grandma or do you have a funky name like the rest of us? 00:21:39 Speaker 1: Now? 00:21:40 Speaker 4: I'm lovey? 00:21:41 Speaker 3: Oh my god, I love. 00:21:43 Speaker 2: That, like Chris Jenner, right, is that what she is? I think she's lovey. It's iconic, absolutely love it. 00:21:49 Speaker 3: Yeah, love is so cute. I'm Jojo because Joan obviously. 00:21:53 Speaker 4: Oh that's cute. 00:21:54 Speaker 3: Yeah, but I felt like it's would feel. I mean, you are so incredibly young. I felt like I was too young to be grandma because my mom is grandma, she's ninety three. I was like, how could you be? Could somebody call me grandma? So I can't imagine, like you will never be old enough to be grandma. 00:22:09 Speaker 5: Well, my kids called me Mama Maynard for a little bit, so I was like, yeah, no, because. 00:22:14 Speaker 4: I have a mama. And I was like yeah, no, no, no, that's that's not doing that guy. No, No, oh my gosh. 00:22:22 Speaker 1: She mentioned Romie. She's only three weeks old. How was that getting the call that Ricky was going into labor. 00:22:27 Speaker 2: Were you so excited? 00:22:29 Speaker 5: Well, she had everything scheduled, Okay. I was there at like five in the morning, and it was really exciting. 00:22:38 Speaker 4: It was so fun. 00:22:39 Speaker 5: I've never been on the other side of it, like waiting in the waiting room, and it was really fun. 00:22:46 Speaker 1: Did you I was gonna say, did you get to be in the room at all with her? 00:22:50 Speaker 2: Or were you in the waiting room? 00:22:51 Speaker 4: I was in the waiting room. I stood. 00:22:52 Speaker 5: I was like outside of she had a C section, so I was like outside of the operating room, so I got to go and recovery with her and everything thing. So yeah, it was And I could hear her whenever Remy was born, I could hear like crying. 00:23:06 Speaker 4: And it's really sweet. 00:23:09 Speaker 2: I love Ricky and Roby. That's like it's. 00:23:11 Speaker 4: So Gilmore girls, Like, I know, it's really sweet. 00:23:15 Speaker 1: Yeah. 00:23:15 Speaker 3: I love a libation too, Ricky and Romy is so cute. 00:23:18 Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah. 00:23:26 Speaker 3: Is there anything else you'd like to share, like with the listeners about what you have going on in your life? I mean, I know you have such a busy life with kids, so anything else, shoot that we could I have any other Now I. 00:23:38 Speaker 4: Have a new product coming out, use my coat. I'm just kidding. 00:23:40 Speaker 5: I don't have any When did you have. 00:23:44 Speaker 3: Time to do that? I'm just kidding. 00:23:46 Speaker 5: I don't have anything going on, just you know, just carpool and corporal. 00:23:53 Speaker 3: I have those days. I have a lot of those days. 00:23:55 Speaker 1: Well, you told Chris Harrison, I think at the last reunion that you were ready to get a minivan. 00:24:01 Speaker 2: Have you bought one yet? 00:24:02 Speaker 1: No? 00:24:03 Speaker 5: I know I am at the point where I need one because my car is like a clown car. Every seat, Like when we get out of places, they just keep coming. Kids just keep coming out of this car. And I'm sure people think it's, you know, like wonder what's going on in there? But I have not gotten a minivan just yet. I just my ego and my pride just won't let me do it. 00:24:24 Speaker 2: Oh my god, I had one. 00:24:25 Speaker 3: It's not pretty function yeah, but they are so connient because you can climb into the back and put kids in seatbelts and car seats so much either than you can do it in a sub. 00:24:40 Speaker 5: I did so like they had this Christmas light tour around Charlotte, and so I my husband's in the carpets so I borrowed like a sprinter van from the dealership, and I would drive one of those in a heartbeat because I was able to like go through the drive through at Chick fil A, hand everybody out, like walk through the little aisle. 00:24:58 Speaker 4: It's like a church van. 00:24:59 Speaker 1: I cannot here's your Chick fil A. 00:25:03 Speaker 5: Here's like everybody like nobody touched each other, like everybody stat fighting. 00:25:08 Speaker 4: That's what I would drive. 00:25:09 Speaker 3: Yeah, but they're hard to part They're hard to park. I think, yes, sure, you can't go to the carpool line in. 00:25:16 Speaker 4: That No, No, and my kids get in it. 00:25:18 Speaker 5: I would have to park way far away, like they wouldn't even gettied. 00:25:22 Speaker 3: Yeah, I know they have opinions. 00:25:25 Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, All this is so amazing, Emily. 00:25:28 Speaker 2: Anything else, like any updates you have for us, anything you want to share with the listeners. 00:25:32 Speaker 1: I'm sure they've missed getting all the updates from you. 00:25:36 Speaker 5: No, I mean I I wish I was more exciting. 00:25:40 Speaker 2: No, you are. This is so exciting. 00:25:42 Speaker 3: You're like living the life that we all imagine, Like we come on the show hoping for a normal life, Like that's why we're there. We're trying to find our person and start, you know, start the next chapter of our life. And you did it, you did it perfectly. 00:25:55 Speaker 4: Thank you. 00:25:55 Speaker 5: I yeah, I love my life. I'm so grateful for it, Like I couldn't have picked it better. My husband's amazing. 00:26:05 Speaker 4: Yeah, it's for family. Thank you so much. 00:26:09 Speaker 5: I think everybody's New Year's resolution is like, oh, I'm gonna like get off of Instagram. 00:26:15 Speaker 4: Mine's always like I need to post more on Instagram. 00:26:17 Speaker 1: Yes, we wish you would. 00:26:20 Speaker 3: Would you please do that? I know it's like a lot or so no. You know, well when you do, we all we all, we all pay attention. So we love seeing your updates. So if you feel like taking a picture every once in a while, we're looking for them. 00:26:33 Speaker 4: Well, thank you. 00:26:35 Speaker 1: Before I was gonna say, Emily, are you going to be watching Taylor season? 00:26:40 Speaker 5: Do you think? 00:26:41 Speaker 4: I mean, I hope, I hope. 00:26:44 Speaker 2: So I just if you get the chance, yeah, like if I yeah. 00:26:49 Speaker 4: I yes, I want to. 00:26:50 Speaker 5: And because I feel like the season is so different and it's everything is so different. I mean yeah, whenever I was Achelorette, it was like the be so wholesome, they you would be so wholesome. 00:27:04 Speaker 4: And. 00:27:05 Speaker 2: Do you feel like she's the opposite a little bit. 00:27:07 Speaker 5: Well, I feel like she not that she's not wholesome, but that she just marches to her own drum and just kind of doesn't really care what people think. And as much as I said, oh I don't care what people think, I did care a lot, And so I think it holds all of us back a little bit, just knowing that everybody's going to be watching this, but also because she has so much history with reality TV already that you know, by the end of my season, if there was a camera in the room, it felt like a microwave in the room, Like I really didn't notice it. So hopefully she's already there and doesn't really think about it as much. 00:27:47 Speaker 3: Yeah, because she holds back, I don't think she did in her season when she was on Secret Lives. Yeah, I think she just was always like unapologetically herself, which I love that about her, even if it made her look bad, she still was super honest. And I feel like maybe that is a great intro for the guys, that they don't feel like they have to be perfect and they can show their real selves. I'm so surprised how the Bachelor has taken such a different path on this one. What do you think about that? Do you think that we are like evolving with the times like we need to or you're like, oh my gosh, what's happening to our Bachelor? 00:28:22 Speaker 4: I I think it's great. 00:28:26 Speaker 5: I also like my daughter watches all the other ones that are a little bit more risque or like. 00:28:33 Speaker 4: Edgar and I don't do you guys watch those? 00:28:37 Speaker 2: I was going to ask which which one like Love Island? 00:28:40 Speaker 4: Oh, yes, and there's one is that Molly May. 00:28:43 Speaker 2: Molly May is on Love Isolin. Yes, Yeah, Ricky. 00:28:45 Speaker 4: Loves Molly May. 00:28:47 Speaker 2: Like great, Yes, all of those. 00:28:50 Speaker 5: Shows that are a little bit, like I said, Edgear, maybe it's time for the Bachelor to kind of go in that direction. And it just I just think of it's it's like. 00:29:06 Speaker 4: Iconic show that I know, you know, is it's just always in the same way. 00:29:11 Speaker 5: Yeah, it's changing and it's exciting, but you know, it makes me a little sad. But I think the fact that Taylor is a mom and I think it really makes sense that she's actually looking for somebody. 00:29:25 Speaker 3: Yeah, did you see the promo or the poster that's come out. 00:29:29 Speaker 4: I did see the poster. 00:29:30 Speaker 3: Yeah, what what do you think about that. 00:29:33 Speaker 4: I mean I think it's so cool. Yeah, I think it's so cool. 00:29:35 Speaker 5: Like on my season, because I was a mom, I complained a lot because I'm like, does my date really have to entail me cutting up oranges and. 00:29:43 Speaker 4: Taking them to soccer practice? 00:29:45 Speaker 5: Like can I like, can I do something else? 00:29:48 Speaker 2: Can I go to Paris and of wine? 00:29:49 Speaker 5: Like? 00:29:50 Speaker 4: Yes? 00:29:51 Speaker 5: Yeah, I did a lot of kid centered things, like we went to a park with a bunch of kids that weren't even mine. 00:29:59 Speaker 2: Oh no, they love those kind of dates. 00:30:03 Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I mean they had this vision of who you were and they wanted to really play up on that. And I wonder if they're doing the same thing with with Taylor. I mean they have a vision of who she is. I wonder if they're going to play up on her kind of you know, risk taker and having done so many things in her life already. 00:30:20 Speaker 4: Yeah. 00:30:21 Speaker 1: Yeah, help you at all with the guys when you went on those sort of dates, like see how they were with children or was it more the one on one time? 00:30:29 Speaker 5: No? Every guy when I dated, like it was like I love my nieces and nephews. I'm the best uncle ever. Oh yeah, Like I'm sure they're your uncle ever. 00:30:41 Speaker 3: Yeah, of course she'll be. 00:30:42 Speaker 2: It'll be interesting for sure. 00:30:44 Speaker 1: Is there anything we talked about it changing so much that you would like to bring back that. 00:30:49 Speaker 2: The Bachelor used to do that? Maybe they've stopped. 00:30:56 Speaker 5: I really liked that way back in the day when they would go I don't know if I ever did it, but like they would go in the room and look. 00:31:02 Speaker 4: At everybody's pictures. That always made me laugh. 00:31:04 Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I remember that. 00:31:06 Speaker 1: I think Ashley season, the one before you still had the pictures. 00:31:10 Speaker 5: That always made me laugh. I wish they would bring back Bachelor Pad where they competed for money. 00:31:18 Speaker 2: Oh yeah, when did they stop doing that? Probably? Like did they only do one season? 00:31:24 Speaker 4: I don't know, you don't know. 00:31:25 Speaker 6: Okay, I'm producer is going to jump in here, because like Justice for Bachelor Pad, it's the greatest show of all time. 00:31:31 Speaker 2: I hear about it. I don't know much about it. 00:31:34 Speaker 6: Oh, you will be watching all of them as long as you are hosting this podcast. 00:31:38 Speaker 2: I'd either go do my research the last. 00:31:40 Speaker 4: Scene in one season, get which one? Like yeah, one season? 00:31:44 Speaker 5: So like the end the couple, but they're not really a couple, like they just kind of partner up, so it's not like Bachelor and Paradise where you're like in love with these people, but you just partner up for all these games. And at the end it's like you both have to write on a paper like keep the money or split the money, and if you both say keep the money, you whatever. I think that was the rule. But then at the end this guy wrote split the money, so he got all of it and she got nine, and it was like the biggest deal ever. 00:32:16 Speaker 4: It was so exciting. 00:32:18 Speaker 6: Fun fact, I was actually sitting in the audience when that happened. 00:32:22 Speaker 2: Really no, twelve. 00:32:23 Speaker 6: Hours during the filming, I will never forget when Nick Peterson stood up and held his big sign and said keep the money. 00:32:30 Speaker 4: Yeah. 00:32:30 Speaker 6: Oh god, Rachel Trueheart goes chasing him sobbing hysterically, being like, I can't believe you did this to me. You guys, that's the reason that made me want to work it on this franchise. 00:32:42 Speaker 1: Do you think that, I mean, it didn't work out for you, But do you think this franchise still has the ability to work for some people? 00:32:50 Speaker 4: Yeah? I mean it has. Who's the last bachelorette that has stayed together? 00:32:57 Speaker 2: Is it? 00:32:57 Speaker 5: Charity? 00:32:58 Speaker 2: Or Joan. 00:33:00 Speaker 3: Was well, I like, you can't hardly count me. I'm old the young crew. Oh yeah, he's right out there on the balcony right now, right now with him. 00:33:09 Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, you're living the dream. That's awesome. 00:33:13 Speaker 3: I am so lucky, so so lucky. But I think of like the young people, probably Charity, I mean Zach and Katie, Charity and Dwton. We've got some really good and Joey and Kelsey. We've had like a really successful like run lately. Oh yeah, yeah, I mean there was something that weren't I mean, Jen didn't work out, and yeah, there was something didn't work out. But I mean we've had some really good ones late. 00:33:34 Speaker 2: That's life too, Emily. How did you meet Tyler? 00:33:38 Speaker 4: We met at church. 00:33:41 Speaker 2: It's amazing. 00:33:42 Speaker 4: Yeah. 00:33:42 Speaker 5: It was after my season of the Bachelor, and I just kind of like went into a hole. 00:33:50 Speaker 4: And so I. 00:33:53 Speaker 5: Started going to a new church and I started like doing this weekly jewelry club do my chirt this school, and he was one of the coordinators. So every Thursday he'd help Ricky and I carry out our beads to my car. And he never asked me for my phone number, never, like was not interested in me at all, which of course made me follow. 00:34:15 Speaker 2: Were you interested in him right? Or where was it? Slow? Bird? 00:34:18 Speaker 5: I was, I like told my friends, I was like, I met my husband, but he, like I said, like, did not show any interest. 00:34:27 Speaker 4: In me at all. 00:34:28 Speaker 5: So and actually, whenever my season was on, his brother told him you need to meet her. She lives in Charlotte, and like, I think you guys would be like, she's your wife. 00:34:37 Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, how quickly after like. 00:34:39 Speaker 3: You said, everybody knew except for him. 00:34:41 Speaker 5: Yes, well we after I got back from a bachelorette that kind of blew up a little bit. And so that was like October, I want to say that that ended. So we had our first day in January. 00:34:54 Speaker 4: It was like a done deal. 00:34:56 Speaker 2: And when did you guys get married? 00:34:58 Speaker 4: The following June? 00:35:00 Speaker 1: So you guys knew, Yeah, fine, we feel done, Ready for the minivan. 00:35:05 Speaker 2: And ready for the kids. 00:35:06 Speaker 1: Ye look at you now, beautiful Storry. Yes, no, you are incredible. You are so beloved in this franchise. Before we go, what is the last piece of advice that you would give to any of our future bachelorettes, to Taylor, to anyone after her. 00:35:26 Speaker 5: My advice would be to enjoyed the time without your phone journal and just like enjoy something somebody else being in charge for a little bit, and remember that such a short amount of time. Like I cried when my season was when we were done filming, because it was just so much fun. I had so much fun, and just be so grateful for that opportunity because it I mean, it's just such a small group and it's such an honor and I had the best time. 00:35:58 Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, and keep all clothes. 00:36:00 Speaker 1: Yes, So before we go, Emily, we need one quick throwback of one of your most iconic lines. 00:36:09 Speaker 2: When you were kicking someone out of the mansion, you. 00:36:11 Speaker 1: Said, get the fuck out. So are we able to hear it in the twenty twenty six. 00:36:16 Speaker 4: Version, Yes, get the fuck out. 00:36:23 Speaker 2: So just as good as it was so good, so good. 00:36:26 Speaker 3: I think that's how we end today's episode. Emily, thank you so much for joining us today. We had such a great time. 00:36:32 Speaker 4: Thank you so much, Thank you so much. This is so fun. 00:36:35 Speaker 1: Yes, thank you, Emily, and thank you to all of our listeners. Make sure you like and subscribe.
