#269: Ghost Stories 2025
This week we're sharing our annual tradition Ghost Story episode. Every year we read listener submitted ghost stories and it's so much fun. If you're easily scared, don't worry most of the stories are typically pretty cute but we'll give a warning if anything is going to be scary.

WEBVTT 00:00:10.000 --> 00:00:12.000 Emma: Next runs from Lori. I've never really believed in ghost or spirits, but then an incident happened involving my son and granddaughter. My granddaughter is now seven when she was an infant, my son and his wife lived in the middle of town in an old two story farmhouse with a spooky attic. The house was well over a hundred years old and it had been renovated following a small fire right before my son and daughter-in-law bought it. The house had a steep twisty staircase from one corner of the kitchen to the upstairs one day while holding the baby who was only a few weeks old. My son tripped coming down the narrow staircase. Oh, he was headed to land face first on the kitchen floor on top of his baby daughter. Just before they landed. My son felt a strong force push him back up to a standing position. Whoa, whoa. He said it was unlike anything he'd ever felt before. When he caught his breath and found himself standing on the stairs, he knew that something, or rather someone had saved him and the baby. Thank you. He said out loud, realizing that it had been a ghost. There had always been rumors in town that this particular house was haunted, and there had been small things like drawers and cabinets opened, which had been previously shut. Lights popping on and off with no one in the room, but those things could always be explained away. After all, it was an old house. Now, however, my son was a true believer from then on. He knew they had a ghost, but he always knew that it was a friendly one. He and his family sold the house and moved a few years later, but to this day, he still credits the ghost for saving his daughter from harm. 00:00:12.000 --> 00:00:15.000 It's a long picnic style bench, and from where we were sitting, he could see straight in front of the door entryway. Out of nowhere, my son leaned back, looked towards the door, lifted his hand, and clearly said hi. We all paused. It was so sudden and intentional and we looked towards the door expecting to see someone, maybe my brother or sister coming over, but no one was there. The door hadn't opened. No sound, no footsteps, just nothing. Then my son stood up with a huge smile on his face and ran toward the entryway giggling. My mom had decorated the house with little Christmas trees, and there was one in the entryway. He jumped around near it. And clearly playing with someone. 00:00:15.000 --> 00:00:16.000 Yeah. Just go ahead and write a novel. Mm-hmm. That was great. I'm also like, okay, so did the ghost, do you think Ghost can just be in multiple places? Yeah. Because it kind of sounds like this ghost was at the foster home. Mm-hmm. Or the childhood home that became the lady's home who was fostering kids, but then also kind of followed the family.
