I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick as they break.
You're going nowhere under the Cinemat? Give it out my pickup guns. Bad
things happen to people I don't like that. Leave a movie to make?
Can we all pull together here? We make movies. So normally when we
come to this point, we do a costar, usually some kind of Hollywood
movie star. But we're lucky because this is the second time that we've seen
this under the Cinemat where a fan auditioned at WrestleMania Access and they got a
part. So we're gonna welcome Mason Norman. It's under the Cinema. How's
it going, man? What's happened there? Good to a good start?
We absolutely are. Um, So okay, I want to start off.
So what tell us how that's all got set up? Please? How did
you get involved the Access thing? You were at WrestleMania, you went to
Access and you auditioned for the marine three. Yeah, so before I got
on the flight, I logged in a NODQ dot com right if you ever
been q dot com. They got all the thirty ses aol dialogue. It's
WWF like this right, and that they're going to be doing auditions for a
movie with my favorite wrestler at the time, Randy or Yeah, I'm I'm
about to get this shit. So all I get out there, I see
uh like at Access they have a line where you can can go on audition,
right, and the people on the line they're passing out like, um,
the script, like this is what you're gonna go up there and say,
you know it was like read it and then pass it to the next
persons they get a chance. I wan't passing that ship to nobody. I
was like, this is my motherfucker screwing, Like you ready go find your
own Like shit, I got the script, So I go up there and
I fuck up a little bit with it whatever, but I gave it my
all, right, so not even on no kiss ass and shit like truth
be told. WWE was the first job I had and I came back from
my rat. Yeah, so I would with like the world's smallest violin,
like man, I was getting blown up the ship and see him Punk is
dropping pipe bombs. Man if y'all don't look out, war brother, So
yeah, I want to backtrack a little bit. Actually, so you were,
Um, you're from Tacoma, right, yeah, I say that's where
you, Uh, that's where you grew up when you were a kid.
Now, actually I grew up more like New York and South Carolina, Alabama.
Once I joined the army. That's how I ended up on the West.
I got you, I got you, I got you. And because
I read in the Miami Herald that you, um, what was it you
went to Franklin Pierce High School? Is that correct? Yeah? Yeah,
and you did tell me. I got to know before we get into the
movie. I gotta know about you doing the play The Foreigner. Ah see,
I like you you do your research man for somebody. So peak game,
right, I'm coming out from from North Carolina, and it's like,
all right, I'm about to trying to join the army. But I got
like a college like high school credits. I gotta get like I gotta go
take Washington State history right right. Um. So it was pretty much like,
man, you do this play, We're gonna let you graduate. I
was like, oh that. I was like, you couldn't tell me nothing.
I was like, I don't got no more math, no, no
I could park in the teacher's parking line. I could just leave just something,
just this play shit. The Board of Education probably shouldn't notice. But
right it was the war on Terror, man, we needed to send bodies
over there, absolutely, man, Jesus, technically they were doing the right
thing, you know what I mean, you want me on the street.
So yeah, I did play the foreigner. But it was cool because like
the character in that movie, the main character. I don't know if anyone
knows the script of it, but you're like a dude who pretends like you
don't speak no English English, and at the end of it, whop the
KKK's ass because that's just how it goes. Again, I'm like familiar with
it, but I don't really know it too well. Oh man, I
was trying to get the teacher director lady. I was like, can we
do spots? Can I choke slam them? Like? Like how much can
I do to the KKK? Here? Trap door and all of that.
But that's crazy time. Shout out to Franklin Pearce. Love it. Yeah.
Now, Now, so when when in your when did you first develop
a fandom of professional wrestling? Um, it was probably right before the attitude
there, okay, right right when it was still a little wonky, I
was probably about second gradesh. Like when I think of like early early impacts,
it would be like, uh an sham Rock, what's it? What's
the dude used to do the Pearl River plunge? Yeah, yeah, right,
And then it started to shift right Seawan Michaels was still real sequency and
sparkly and round. In the third grade, I learned how to do a
crop chop, didn't we all? And that's how I got the tension the
first time. He'll stand by. You can suck it, mystery, don't.
But now as an adult, I am so proud of young me going
around tell a society and she can suck it every chance you get, you
know, Monday Night Wars and like as a kid, I always gets sent
to like Alabama for the summer. Now now I'm in the South, we
like that. On TV, I'm watching Turners broadcasting. There we go,
Oh look at so you got so you got fandom from all over from all
different avenues, all right, right, yeah, yeah. Like my mom's
a big wrestling family, Like it's one of those things in the family,
like one of the things she always taught me like, you can you can
be a fan of this, but at least look like you can do this,
Like you can have an action figure, but you can also grew up
to be the fucking action figure. And I was like, okay, that's
where I kind of always like liking things to wrestling, because you really a
fan. There's a lot of respect behind the scenes. There's a lot of
hard work behind the scenes. There's a lot of bullshit, and just like
anything, like if you can apply that and be like all right, man,
boss is already giving me a hard time, I'm just gonna no sell
that. That's right. Beautiful, a beautiful thing. It's a beautiful you
know what I mean? Just like miss had to do, We'll be I
yeah, what I love too. So what's kind of unfamiliar. So most
of the listeners of our show go through the isolation of being a wrestling fan,
meaning that pretty much our families ridiculed us for being wrestling fans. And
we we have the the quintessential uncle who says, hey, you know what,
I shit's fake, right, So it's cool that you actually had a
parent that was supportive of it. Oh no, no, no. Was
the thing like, so this is a true story, right, Um,
this is the day I learned wrestling was fake, but I was okay.
Was the Saint Valentine's Day massacre in nineteen ninety nine, Steve Allston versus Vincent
Man. This is when Paul White makes his debut dumb soup. Right,
that was the same day my grandmother died. I'm seeing my mom. She's
like fucking devastated. Her mom just died. Yeah, but then Stone Cole
wins and she fucking pops. Yeah, So how the hell do you go
from the utmost status to one of the biggest pops and the same day and
okay, it's fake, fake for a good fucking reason. Oh, I
just saw that guy on the other channel. So what do you so?
What are you saying? If if it was real in Steve Austin one,
she wouldn't have popped. I think if it was real and a giant just
came out the floor, Stone Coole is about to get his neck broken.
I got you, no one, I get you, so no one.
No one's throwing off into the cage and finding a fancy exit. I think
that. But your mom wasn't worried at all about that, right, Yeah?
Well, it was more of the creativity of the ending. Because the
ending of the matches, uh, Paul White, I think he has him
up in like a military press slam and he throws him into the cage.
So happened that the cage break? So hi, Hi, you trying to
cheat? What caused him to win? You know what I mean? So
it gets back and say it the story to sports entertainment. I hate to
say it. Hey man, that's done it. Oh that's great. So
after high school you join the military. Yep, I needed some money.
Yeah for sure. What didn't you you in the army? Right? Yeah?
I was. I went straight to the Army Reserve. I didn't go
because I was like, man, you can just make me live anywhere at
least I can do this, and I know I can get my own little
apartment right right exactly. So how long did you serve? I actually ended
up retiring. I got to like eat six and did about ten years.
No shit, Good for you, man, that's awesome. And so was
this time that you made it to WrestleMania? Yes, so, uh Iraq?
I was like probably at that time, I like the most money I
ever had. I'm sitting over there and all right, and this is a
true story, but again world small as violin. It was like, what
if I can get back to the States alive that I haven't done, but
the rocks about to get busy. Man, I'm trying to go see that.
So you were over So you were overseas. Yeah, I was in
Iraq. I bought my tickets to WrestleMania and cool unlike kuwait on like the
shittyest of Internet, that is spectacular. So so were you um serving or
enlisted? When w W have did the SmackDown nine eleven viewed episode nine nine
to eleven, I was like seventh grade, but I was prepping to deploy
when John Cena announced that Ben loud and died. Oh wow something. Then
I heard it from John Cena and I was like, I would have much
rather just heard the ship from Cena. I didn't seen it, yeah right,
Yeah. The only wrestling fans heard it first from John Cena. There
was a lot of them. So what did you think having served in Iraq?
What did you think of all the tribute to the troops shows and everything
that they did. I mean, you weren't there at the time, but
looking at it, you know, having served there, and knowing what it's
like, what do you make of all that? I love all of that
again, That's that's how I got on. But if I was answered like
specifically about Iraq, here's the coolest thing. That's where I learned how international,
yeah really is, Like they need to go do the pay per view
in the world biggest cricket stadium in India, Like they don't realize how love
they are. So I couldn't necessarily watch SmackDown. We'll have the Armed Forces
Network, but that's in the dining hall, right and the time the show
comes on, the dining halls closed. So I ended up making cool with
like all the Indian dudes, like from people from India would come to Iraq
to work and serve us food or whatever and make more money than they would
back home. They don't speak a look at English and I don't speak nothing
Indian, but we can all sit around and watch Kelly Kelly. We can
all appreciate and watch this match incredible, And that was like my like my
go to like every week, Like, so I'll be hanging out with like
Huaiti's Indians. It would be like this multi cultural pot of Yeah, we're
just here. Watching wrestling and that's amazing. So that's really like my biggest
memories of like wrestling overseas because I would have to go on like no dq
like when Punk dropped the pipe, mom, I wasn't able to watch it.
I had to just read it word for word. That's crazy. Um,
did you see any did you see any combat while you were there?
Yeah? So I have a combat action badge. Like my first week there
kind of like Loki got blown up. But it was cool though, because
they shot like the wily coyote rockets at us, so like they hit us,
but them bitches didn't like blow up, blow up, So it was
like, that's crazy on that serious lad, I'm glad you uh you made
it out unscathed man. Yeah, so you had so you really had some
like I mean, you had some legit experience coming into a movie called The
fucking Marine. He's why. When it was like time for the casting,
I had like a lot of like army buddies in folks like tagging w W
studios like let's be for real here, you need to tell me I can't
play soldier man FBI guy, like I just came from doing it. So
it was one of those things where it was like, yeah, man,
this is a great way to just get back. That's kind of I look
at it like the I think in the credits they say I'm an FBI agent.
Yeah, I just sat at a computer and pretended to work for a
little bit. That's awesome. That's awesome like being in the military. Sometimes.
Here, I'm gonna play I'm gonna play your audition. So, uh,
this is in Jack's hearing it for the first time. I've I've certainly
heard it a couple of times by now, but here we're gonna listen to
the audition they had. They put it up on w dot com at the
time, and it's still in their archives. But here we go. Drop
your weapon, will drop you? Who aren't? Oh you can't. What
are you doing here? My daughter and a friend I'm tracking. Take them
back to the command center. We'll talk there. Arge, No, we
don't. Well it looks like you don't have a choice. Well this is
weird. Come too, did this guy blow it? Any? Saw it
from the coppow Three months of chasing this guy over the country and Rambo here
messes it all up nearly. It's fucking great. Yeah, I botched the
last line, but fuck it, man, just roll through whatever. Yeah,
exactly, it's exactly. It doesn't matter. I couldn't tell what was
what was a botch about it? The word nearly was supposed to come before
here. Oh that's minership watch. I'm like shit, man, I was
like had everywhere right because I remember I told you I didn't share the script
with nobody, right, that's awesome? So, um, how many like
where describe kind of the set up here? Because obviously the the audition video,
as you against the backdrop, we don't see what's behind the camera and
kind of where this, uh, this setup is taking place. So like
what what described kind of what that was all about? So that's right in
the middle of access. Yeah. Um. The person who was feeding me
lines he was he's actually like a really really big deal. He was like
the head of legal for all the Wow, Like I want to fuck with
this kid, and I was like, come with me. There was another
one. I met a lot of producers that day, a lot of them
that was just hanging out and it was like all cool, and it was
like that was the thing where it's like, Okay, you're you're enthusiastic,
you're young, and you're giving us the Iraq story, so we'll stays touched.
I worried though, because what was doing like more casting? I was
like, what the fuck? Y'all still audition to people for that's awesome?
Um, so like when you were there, how what did they do afterwards?
I mean, what what was the time frame after you had your audition
and you went to wrestle By the way, how was WrestleMania? Most importantly,
WrestleMania was dope? Yeah, that was a taker triple aged with guest
referee. That's yes. I remember from that night that the end of the
error match back when you can get a good seat for five hundred dollars,
I say that not not not these days. Um, what have you been
to WrestleMania since? Oh? Yeah, I've been to Uh that was twenty
eight. I did twenty nine. I can't believe I missed thirty. I
did thirty one, thirty two, thirty good or five. Dude, we've
been in the same building, three of us have been in the same building
a couple of times. We've been getting drunk together. Didn't even known.
I don't remember it because we were at we were at twenty nine and then
we were at thirty two, right was thirty two? Yeah, and Dallas,
Dallas. That's great. Yeah, let's go on. It's a lot
of fun. It's a lot of fun. Um. Yeah. So then
afterwards you waited how long did you wait? But between uh, the audition
WrestleMania itself and the call, it was about uh about six months. Oh
shit, I think it's cost Like yeah, it was like. It wasn't
like I went home knowing I did this cool thing. It keep keep your
prayers alive. Maybe this can happen to you. And so there was there
was no contact between from them at all, not outside of being friends bamming
their Facebook page. Yeah, they wasn't. Wow, yeah you had they
made me work. I'll say, so what are you saying on the Facebook?
What? What? What? What are you type into them? It
wasn't like because maybe but it would be like plaity much like a lot of
people I've been in the Army with and other veterans, like just like on
behalf as a veteran, like I just put the fucking guy in the goddamn
thing. Damn right, got it. That's a great idea. So did
so you you sought this like campaign of support and uh yeah, I don't
know why I didn't keep this up. Now this is like the model of
social media and marketing to get other people to be for you. But I
guess I was a little bit of a trance stor that day. That's here
I'm gonna play too that I got some from from the behind the scenes dvd
uh featurette. This is some more of the of the casting call situation there
at Access at WrestleMania, WWE conducted an open audition for a movie with ww
Studios for WWE and let their fans have a chance to be in this awesome
movie. That's really that's really cool. Any fan that was at Acces could
audition for it. Hello and behold, someone from an audition at WrestleMania Access
got a part. Mason was selected as the guy that would have a role.

Kick some Button, want to Raise New York, joined the military, a
little bit, out to high school, then overseas. The fact that they
put their lives on the line each and every day for my freedom is incredible.
To give Mason this gift of being in this film is just the little
things that we could do because he gives me the gift of being free.

Oh bro, do you know how psyched I was when I got there and
I was like, oh shit, I'm bigger than him, yet I bet
you could eat him like three times over for Fox say, I love like
that dude deserves everything, everything that he had. He's hard work. So
here's a here's a cool story I'll share. Right at the time, the
day I was on set, him and Maurice was still just dating. And
this is what it was dope about it. This was the bro moment because
it was like this was the one day he had an early day and it
was like the one day I was there and it was like, yeah,
I know, I know, I supposed to be hanging out with you,
kid, but you know what, I got that at the hotel room and
I was like, nah, man, you get your ass up out here.
So I had seen him at Wemania thirty three. This time they're all
married and ship. Miss remember me and shit, But I remember I was
like telling the rest. I was like, bro, this motherfucker was so
sprung to get out of work to come home to you. That's great.
You imagine what he did do her, just fucking went to town on her
all the all the real world pulled all that out. One thing I wasn't
clear on was so you were gassed up by you know, seeing Randy Orton
on the bill? Oh yeah, gonna be So when you saw it was
the miss. Was that something that was made clear to you right away or
did you not know that you got to set and what was your reaction when
you realized it was missing out Orton? Now I knew because of the dirt
shakes, and I didn't like all right, So I was an army at
the time. I didn't necessarily like how it was like, we're in New
Urine can't play the part because he was a marine, and then he got
a dishonor but discharge and like a lot of people get dishonnor but discharged.
Right, I ain't mad at rand I mean that matter to you. Like
he went on to become Randy Hoord. Of course, he said, Man,
fuck you guys treating me like shit. I'm out of here. So
this is one of those things where I actually kind of respect him for,
you know, having the balls too. I'm just gonna walk away from the
military. I'll do my prison time, man, I'll I'll bet on me
in this world, like as as a military man. Like they made I
mean, I'll tell you they made a huge stink about it, Like the
Marines in his um, in his unit made a huge stink about it,
going on social media and other places and like making these formal complaints and shit,
and and like it's a it's a movie. It's not like he's trying
to get back in the Marines. It's a fucking movie. Does it?
Does it really matter? Well, let me ask you this, Yeah,
what type of marine do you know? Sister around writing letters and complaining that's
awesome, not the who's opinion I give a fuck about? Damn right.
I felt like the real ones, like you said, ban't give a shit
and his haters just wants son to bish about like a have that whatever.
Sure he did with the franchise totally, I mean, listen, honestly,
honest to god, I mean with with with you know, a low budget
movie like this, and he's fine, He's totally, he's totally. I
mean honestly, I think he's probably better than Randy Orton anyway, um,
acting wise, but like it doesn't bother them that that. It's what I
found to be ironic, not that I'm asking you this question, but this
is just more rhetorical. But what I found to be kind of odd is
that they're so upset because this guy, because Randy Orton was was discharging the
quote unquote abandoned his unit. But they're okay with this other fucking guy who's
got no connection to the military on a on a like his own personal level,
playing a marine like yeah, right and right, you know, like
it's to his whole gimmick. I mean, no one said, hey,
appropriate and military culture, so so I'm right, So all right, So
six months passed between the audition and then how do they contact you about the
Skype call. Oh it's one of those emails that specifically says, in the
time, tell anybody about this ship we see and so they probably people put
cameras, like while you were sleeping one night, put cameras in your house.
You know they had all they bucked the whole house. They were ready.
You know, you say one damn thing, They're gonna come fucking find
you. I believe it. So, uh when I when I when I
hear about the skype call, I'm like, again, I'm being a nerd.
So I'm like, oh, I know I got the party, and
I knew I had the part because they rescheduled the skype call. And I
knew they rescheduled the Skype call. They made it slip up on the phone,
they said, because they wanted Miss to be there. And I was
like, well, you know, they're just about to meet with me with
Miss for no reason. You knew he was there. That's awesome. It
was like. So I was like all right, And then I saw a
line that like ww was in Brazil, and I was like, Okay,
they're waiting to it that after the Brazil tour or whatever the fuck they was,
We're gonna do it so I was just playing along and there was like
some other producer lady. She was busting my chops the whole time, like
take the shirt off. Oh, your shirt sucks. And eventually I like
called her out and I'm like, Yo, what the fuck is this?
I thought WW was against bullying miss laughs everyone laughs. And at that point
like it and me and Min just talking shit to each other and it was
just you know what I mean, like we were doing that on Twitter and
then it was like, yeah, that's fun. We encouraged that, like
y'all, not just like because he had posted some stupid shit like uh,
I just did weapons training and I was like, cool, I just ran
five miles and he was like my weapons training five miles and I'm like,
bro, I just came back from my rack. I don't need weapons training.
What it was, you know what I mean? Get me. But
yeah, when I seen Mays again though, he gave me like he remembered
me. He was like, dope, give me a big shot. The
whole theaters like, oh shit, that's me from the reserves. But like
if I'm at a show, but my it's his raw sign, motherfucker's gonna
stokee cold. Stuper heal. That's awesome. This is what I love about
him, was like, yeah, you don't want me to be your fan
chef? Fucking shitting on me? Is that? Is that something that happened?
You were at a show and he saw you and he started healing on
you and getting uniface. Oh no, no, no, he just ignored
the shit out of me because I go to a show, especially if I'm
up close. I got my my missus raw sign or miss for president.
Oh you're that guy? Okay, I always wondered who the president? Yeah,
yeah, my dude right there. Absolutely, So here we go.
I'm gonna play the I'm gonna play the phone call. This is the phone
call. Where where they they? They announced that you got the part.
What's up, Mason? Oh my god, I'm very very good. Yeah,
it's me the one and only. Watch your audition. Great job.
My problem with it was you were wearing a c M Punk shirt. Take
him back to the command center. We'll talk there. Started explain. What
do you think he was gonna be the star of the show. Do you
think he was gonna star of the movie? Is that what you're thinking?
Maybe I can butter see him unkp and not the miss couldn't wear an awesome
shirt? Cat you Hey sampunk man, best in the world. Miss,
You're awesome cmpunk best in the world. I'm the star of Marino for I'm
the person that you should be kissing my to basically get this part. I
respect you. Miss. You're one of my idols. You were someone who
proved that you can have a dream to be in this business and make it
all the way to the top. Okay, that that was good. That
was not bad. You're you're you're getting couple points with me. You're gaining
a couple of points. So you're twenty three years old and you're an Army
VAT. I hear, yes, I am. Is there any stories that
you have being an Army vat. The coolest story I have from my deployment
it's actually the one year anniversary past a couple of days ago. It was
one of my first big rocket attack. It was in an adrenaline rush,
you know. It was like I woke up the next day and I realized,
hey, I'm supposed to be here, and I was just happy.
And that's actually that event is actually one of the reasons why that WrestleMania,
because I I was over there and I was thinking, if I can get
back to the States, if I can't do anything in my life that I
haven't done yet, what would it be? And I always wanted to go
to a wrestling it. If it wasn't for that deployment, I would have
never been in Miami this year. I would have never seen you take team
Johnny Skull crushing for now face of the company as we know it. I
would have never seen all the greatness, the magic, And I wanted ahead
the time with my life. So what want did this do for you?
If you actually got this part? For me, I think the biggest and
the biggest thing if I got the party in this movie, it would just
being able to see my mother, how proud she would be because you know,
I grew up my only child. She was a single mother. You
know, the most time we actually spent together it was Monday. He was
watching wrestling. I'll be on the floor to my toys watching. If she
knows how much I love. Do you have a phone on you right now
that you can use? Yeah, can you call your mom? I'll call
my mom right now. Call your mom right now, somebody. I know
you're not doing that right now. By the way. I don't know if
you just know this, but I was just in a match with Protest claim.
It didn't go out too well for me, So I don't like that
song. Mason. I want you to tell your mom that you are not
just the finalist, but you have been cast in the Marine home Front.
Now, no looking, I got the parts. Just told me I got
casted. Oh my god, how you feel, man? You've been casting
in a part on Marine home Front? You were going to be a part
of it? Yes, awesome, excellent man. Well, hey, congratulations,
your audition was fantastic. You are definitely right for the part, and
you seem like a great, great fan, so we appreciate that. Well,
it was nice to meeting. You'll remember I'm awesome, and so are

to my mom, And shit, you were and I'm sure it was all
heartfelt, but man, that was you're ready for that restla. It was

the next time frame here so we can kind of put it. I want
to understand this. So now you got the part. What's the time frame?
How how long between this skype call and when you're scheduled to be on
location? So at this point then it was worked right, so that out
to WWA, I had to get a passport, so expert I did that
for me. They did all the travel, took care of it. So
we was filming in Vancouver, r right. It was around um fourth of
July. I think I like flew back into the States on the fourth.
I can't. Canada didn't give no fucks about that ship. So it's like
when I originally learned I got the part, I was sold. So if
you see in the movie there's a fight scene in the bar and the whoops
up ass that was supposed to be me, But there's laws and unions,
and was like, ain't no way in hell y'all about to give this untrained
fan stunt double pay. That's like five hundred dollars an hour right there.
No, no, no, no, he's not getting that part that's going
So I didn't They didn't tell me that's how I get on site. And
then it was like, I have that decision. Uh, production company,
this isn't like a w W E thing. No, I know, like
just fucking give you you know. I mean, I know that you need
someone trained, but I mean, you know what I'm saying, Like,
in order to like film a movie and do it right, you have to
be like how we have sagged actors and like those juniors, like you have
to follow the union agreements. Just fucking buy your buy your stunt union card.
Right. I was twenty two. I didn't even know what the ship
that was. I was just wanting to make it out of Canada. Say
you just dropped me off in the middle of nowhere where so uh but yeah,

for the rat party of the movie. Now mind you like Tacoma to Vancouver.
That's about four hundred miles, right. I responded, like, y'all
shure this is supposed to go to me? And it was like, nah,
you was cool. You was on set. You come to the party.
So I'm driving mind nineteen ninety seven Cadillac Deville, knowing these oil change
new tires and everything that's amazing in the country, and I stay in like
I think it's called like the Patricia, like the most like four house thirty
motels that I could afford. Like it was so bad that when the man
is in the director and the like crew saw me at the party and heard
where I was staying, there was like, fuck that compass guy another hotel
room at least, like it was like you're gonna get fucking murdering in there.
That's fing awesome. But yeah, that was probably the dopest part though,
because that's when it was done, and missus drunk and I'm drunk.
I learned. I learned the WW style of getting drunk is you mix your
your liquor with water. There we go wreaking like just straight and that's you
know what I mean, how he can get drunk but dre flush out and
not he two bloated on fucking TV. But at that point he was doing
the movie, so he knew he had him enough time to Yeah, he
was. He came back like a couple of weeks after the or like a
week or so after the filming wrapped. Um, so did you see so
what? I find it be funny and I always like to get had kind
of clarity on these things. All those other performers in that video clip are
like welcoming you just said. They're like I can't wait to see you.
D da da da. None of them are in the scene with you.
So did you even see those people at all? Yeah, I'm mad on
the Okay, So I said everybody was cool, Like I didn't really talk
to the actresses that much, like I'll make like a comment or whatever,
but that was just because if the cameraman was on me and I was just
acting out right whatever, because I was learning quickly, like all right,
there's a lot of norms to being on a movie set that you need to
understand fast, right and before you get chewed the fuck out and home and
embarrassed around here like sounding as simple, it's like they'll bring a cart filled
with sandwiches, Yeah, but it's taboo if you grab the sandwich, Like
this is bullshit, dude, it's so true. I'll tell you, you
know, I um, so, I used to live in LA and I
used to do some some filmwork and I was on set every now and again,
and so I was like when I first moved out to LA, I
was like, I was a production assistant on a couple of things, and
I remember my my superior saying, look, you get to set out all
the food, but you don't get to eat until everybody else is eaten.
It's like, I'm just like sitting there like literally, I've got like bagels
and sandwiches and doughnuts and all this shit in my hand, but if I
fucking put it in my mouth, they'll fire me. I see. That's
why I was a culture shift for me, because coming from like the acomy
leaders eat glass you don't eat until everybody doing the work is to eat.
Man. I was a big shift where it was like, no, there's
classism here. I'm like, oh, I want that fucking twinky though,
dog, I don't know what to tell you. And then I saw how
they treated the extras like little chap slaves and shit, and I was like,
oh, yeah, got me fucked up. Yeah. No, it's
a it's a it's a it's a mess sometimes, you know. I mean
like kind of just sitting in some random space waiting to see if they're gonna
use you. I'm fascinated. So beyond the food thing, is there any
other norms that you learned the hard way? Uh? Can't take pictures of
actress while they're eating? Oh yeah, actually actresses. Because I was with
my sandwich, I was like, hey, man, let's have a picture
of me and miss eating a sandwich. And it was like, I kick
your ass. If you have a picture of me with a sandwich in my
hand, that's right. Then they can't have any evidence of them eating food.
That would be you know, what kind of professional or they if they
eat? Give me a break. They didn't know, And it was also
another weird culture ship because it's like, yeah, this is my first job
since Iraq and I was like four in Iraq. Like I'm didn't even come
home with twenty thousand, like maybe fifteen tops, right for damn near dying.
And then I'm hanging out with the dude and he's an extra and he's
like, yeah, I'm fucking making twenty five an hour and I'm getting time
and a half at eight hours, and I just can't wait to go home.
And I'm like, I shut the fuck up talking to me right now,
brother, Seriously sounds like pretty good money to me. Yeah, right,
And I mean you're on You're on a fucking movie set, for God's
sake. Like I know, it's like can be boring, but I mean
also he's talking to the wrong guy who nearly got fucking blown up, Like
no, no, no, she shut your fucking mouth, their kid.
It was like, I wish I got compensated by the hour, right overtime?
There's an overtime here? Okay, that's nuts. So what was your
what was your day? Like? So, were you there early in the
morning you have an early call time? Were you there the whole day that
they were filming, or were you just there for your your a short amount
of timing because they got footage of you. I'm gonna play another clip from
them from that specific behind the scenes of you, but I wanted to get
more of your actual because I mean, in seven minutes long that piece on
the DVD, but that leaves twenty three hours and fifty three minutes of the
rest of the day, and I'm curious about that time. Yeah, So
outside of like outside of the movie set, I walked up sound of Vocouver.
They gave me some cash and per DM man Canada money and I had
no intentions to trade in an inn and stay. So I was just spitting
that wherever good for you man again, and I was like, I was
just trying to give y'all law of the Moneys. Why won't you take the
Money's here? Another culture shock and Kurt, that's crazy, that's fucking crazy.

late into production there was like the rat party was in a few days.
I think I kind of like brought a vibe of like, man, we
can chew, we're getting to work done, We're doing something cool. And
then like I could tell they was having fun seeing someone outside of film yea
and their world that like all of them, was like, like, I
fucked up that clapper so many times, but it was like I can imagine.
They're like I remember my first time having to do that shit. You
know, so I got invited back. I was hanging out on set like
the week after. Um, like director was like, I won't put you
in the movie again. He drunk. He's like, I don't have the
power to, but you can hang out here yea and fuck with shit.
You know you could be in a director's booth. You got full access to
the stage. That's awesome. So so I heard that little remark there.
So you said that Finn Valor used your extra extraordinary line? What one was
that? Yeah? Used to right before Judgment day. He was saying that
stupid shit when he was trying to find himself, when he was like on
his princip bullshit. I remember I could look it up, but I remember
he said that. I was like, man, I looked so hard to
