[SPEAKER_04]: Welcome to TFL TalkingTrucks podcast.
[SPEAKER_04]: We have a special episode for you because Gase and I are in Las Vegas at the SEMA Show 2025.
[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely, there's tons to see here.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this might be a podcast as we're watching in video form.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: But where we're starting out right now is some place pretty special.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're in the Ford booth, which means some of the vehicles we're looking at here are things that you will actually be able to go out and buy yourself.
[SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: So as cool as some of the crazy customs are, this is potentially relevant to a lot more people, and initially what we see.
[SPEAKER_01]: looks like a maybe semi-standard Raptor R. Yeah, I mean, you come up to this vehicle here in the booth.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's a Raptor R with some graphics.
[SPEAKER_04]: You know, it's a Raptor R because in the grill there's a orange R and there's of course the tail points that are painted.
[SPEAKER_04]: So those are some telltale signs that this is a supercharged V8.
[SPEAKER_04]: But then you look a little deeper, and you do see this wipple supercharger on top, and Ford said, you know what, the 720 horsepower in the standard, and I'm using air quotes, standard wrapped to are, wasn't quite enough, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Sure, I guess that's what somebody over at Ford thought because with this three-liter wipple supercharger, they're claiming over 900 horsepower.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're not saying any torque figures yet.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's still the same basic 5.2-liter V8 and a lot of the rest of the drive line is mostly unchanged, but over 900 horsepower is the claim with this vehicle.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And theoretically this will be a kit that you should be able to go out and buy.
[SPEAKER_04]: Exactly, which I'm doing a mind exploding right now, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: Because I mean, the standard Raptor R is already a very special truck, which is of course pricey, so we don't have pricing yet on this, because it's coming out early in 2026, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: But dude, it looks good, and 900 plus horsepower, and some carbon fiber accessories and touch points like these little vents and the hood.
[SPEAKER_01]: right there bulge is an also carbon fiber yeah the particular truck that we're looking at has a few extra modifications there's some lights in front of the apillars there's a little bit of carbon fiber like Andre said on the hood and on the fender well for the most part it does look like a pretty standard raptor are it's under the hood where things are very special and like you said this is probably not going to be an inexpensive truck but you wouldn't
[SPEAKER_01]: Pick up trucks.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, right.
[SPEAKER_04]: What if you wanted something smaller and also lower to the ground?
[SPEAKER_04]: Little sportive vehicle for the street.
[SPEAKER_04]: How about how about the Maverick?
[SPEAKER_01]: There's the other exciting piece of news that is here in the Ford booth.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: This what we're looking at right now is the Maverick 300T.
[SPEAKER_01]: It says so on a decal that lives up on the hood.
[SPEAKER_01]: This truck from the exterior has bronze wheels and a few decals
[SPEAKER_01]: lowered suspension, a couple little things that are neat, but what makes it really interesting is it's got a turbo that's pulled from an EcoBoost Mustang, a different intercooler setup, and they're claiming 300 horsepower on this Maverick, which is nice.
[SPEAKER_01]: So instead of 250 horsepower 300, because a lot of people when the Lobo came around complained that it didn't have I think it's about that.
[SPEAKER_04]: I think it's about the Roman complaining, actually.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I think Roman...
[SPEAKER_04]: I think you and I also complained a little.
[SPEAKER_01]: He was in good company.
[SPEAKER_01]: There were a lot of people that wanted to see a logo with some extra power.
[SPEAKER_04]: So this is not labeled the logo, by the way, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: No.
[SPEAKER_04]: And it doesn't have a logo grill.
[SPEAKER_01]: But potentially, you would think that this kid could possibly work on one, because it's a two liter EcoBoost.
[SPEAKER_04]: So.
[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, and of course, you know, don't expect a lot of the, once again, no pricing yet available early 2026 and none of this is going to be super inexpensive.
[SPEAKER_04]: But the fact that Ford stands behind it, you know, they offer it as a package and then with some warranty and you can get it installed at the Ford dealership or a certified facility, I think that's very special.
[SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's so.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you saw the logo initially and thought it's cool, but it needs more power, here's a Maverick with more power.
[SPEAKER_04]: And you could upgrade your logo, too.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's really cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: This, however, so the wrapper are that we were looking at with the bigger supercharger.
[SPEAKER_01]: That one is not necessarily finalized yet.
[SPEAKER_01]: The kit here on the fabric.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is coming.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is going to be available.
[SPEAKER_04]: And I think this is kind of leading into a really exciting time because a cheererex is supposed to be coming back, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: So I think for this, of course, understands that and ram cheererex is coming, supposedly supercharged V8 again with more horsepower.
[SPEAKER_04]: We don't know exactly what Ram is going to do yet, but that's going to be exciting.
[SPEAKER_04]: Case, how about we walk this way as we're walking through the show?
[SPEAKER_04]: And once again, Case and I are going to try to kind of describe to you and show you as much as humanly possible.
[SPEAKER_04]: But there's like 5 gigantic halls here.
[SPEAKER_01]: There is so much at the show as always.
[SPEAKER_01]: And again, these things are really exciting to actually look at and see.
[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're able to watch the video version of this podcast, you'll probably get a little bit more out of it, because as much as we'll try to describe, like you said, the things that we're seeing, it's only so much that you can put into words.
[SPEAKER_04]: Well, just walking through the show, this truck really caught our eye case, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: And we found the owner, Tyler.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know what, thanks for stopping.
[SPEAKER_04]: Nice to meet you.
[SPEAKER_04]: I was jokingly calling it a small Chevy.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: But this is probably one of the biggest Chevrolet trucks pick-up trucks I'm using quotes I've ever seen.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is a big truck built for going off road and pulling big loads.
[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so tell me how this project started.
[SPEAKER_04]: I mean obviously you picked up is this a 6500?
[SPEAKER_00]: This is a 6500 which is a partnership between international and GM.
[SPEAKER_00]: They build them on the international assembly line.
[SPEAKER_00]: GM Cab, Dermax Engine, Ellison Transmission, and I was trying to build something unique.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's something a little stand out for SEMA.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is my family's personal camping rigs, so we go out camping.
[SPEAKER_00]: We pull our trailers with Jeeps and Buggies and Broncos in them.
[SPEAKER_00]: But we'll go 50 to 100 miles from a paved road and just go spend a week out there.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what it was built for.
[SPEAKER_04]: All right, so it came as basically a chassis cab, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: It came as a chassis and picked the one with the greatest capacity, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: So, so that's what combined 26,000 pounds, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: 26,000 pounds, yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: For the truck itself.
[SPEAKER_04]: But then you kind of went to town on it.
[SPEAKER_04]: Tell me, all right, where should we start?
[SPEAKER_04]: Well, you grind a line, I mean, you line the truck, so it's a little bit more durable.
[SPEAKER_00]: So this is a Patriot truck bed liners.
[SPEAKER_00]: Had a guy up in Akra and Ohio off the grid that sprayed it.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a very durable coating.
[SPEAKER_00]: Color matched it.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is actually a color matched to the dirt on my driveway so it doesn't show dirt.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then the black hasn't as an accent.
[SPEAKER_00]: So this is so I can lean it against trees.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what the kicker bars are for.
[SPEAKER_00]: I can lean it against trees and not rip all the paint off.
[SPEAKER_04]: So then you built this exhaust gate you referred to, so it ties into the bumper.
[SPEAKER_04]: Tries into the buck stop bumper?
[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, let's show that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So this is a buck stop bumper for tie-in.
[SPEAKER_00]: It gives me all my lights with the rigid lights.
[SPEAKER_00]: Twenty-two thousand pound warrior winch.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I can get on stock when I need to.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's a twenty-five thousand pound winch on the back.
[SPEAKER_00]: So again, just to be able to get off road and take some hits and maybe pick somebody else out of their mind or something There's a lot a lot of time winch and other people out jeeps and broncos You got some antennas communication.
[SPEAKER_04]: You got a roof rack on this truck Which is way up high.
[SPEAKER_04]: It is a truck is big It's a load to get a spare tire off, but if you need it, you can take it out Then explain a couple more things to me before we look at the bed.
[SPEAKER_04]: Sure.
[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, the wheels and tires and also why are you in the liquid spring?
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, boot here
[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, so wheels and tires, American forested the wheels.
[SPEAKER_00]: These are basically custom-milled semi-truck wheels.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: So these are 22 and a half inch tires, dump truck tires that are 45 inches tall.
[SPEAKER_00]: But this way, if I break down anywhere in the world, if I'm in Mexico or if I go into South America, I can get a tire all over the world for this without an issue.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so my friend, so I used to, I bought the site story, an F-61976 pickup truck.
[SPEAKER_04]: Nice, actually commercial truck that we want to turn into a pickup truck.
[SPEAKER_04]: I sold it to my friend, Dan, he's a semi-truck driver.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and he did something similar, except not quite a stall.
[SPEAKER_04]: But turns again, every truck stop around the country has tires for that.
[SPEAKER_00]: It takes a stress away, you know you're going to dress up the NEP in here.
[SPEAKER_04]: But then it's suspension, because... That's suspension.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, literally this is not very comfortable.
[SPEAKER_00]: Factory, it is.
[SPEAKER_00]: Stiff is can be, I can feel a one inch rock on my driveway.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's look under the back, you can see it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: So liquid spring is cutting edge top of the line suspension.
[SPEAKER_00]: You can see these red struts up here.
[SPEAKER_00]: Ooh, you have some lights.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, it's all hydraulic, it's a compressible hydraulic load or suspension fluid.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: You've got a reservoir with a pump and a computer here.
[SPEAKER_00]: It measures real time, your acceleration, whether you're turning, it ties into the factory ECM, it feels your acceleration, you're breaking,
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: If I turn right, it's going to add spring rate to the right strut.
[SPEAKER_00]: If the wind starts blowing me, I was getting blown through on Kansas coming out here.
[SPEAKER_00]: It'll offset the suspension so that I stay pointed straight.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it really helps softens up the ride.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I can use it to raise and lower the height, which helps a lot with loading.
[SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then, um...
[SPEAKER_04]: That's pretty amazing.
[SPEAKER_04]: Tell me a little bit about this bed because it's very big and very long.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the bed is a custom bed designed with ProTech.
[SPEAKER_00]: They do some really nice work.
[SPEAKER_00]: They've got a whole hook bolt design.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it's built for off-road.
[SPEAKER_00]: It can twist without cracking like a lot of bolt beds will.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then we do all the rigid lights down the side.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's built for camping so, you know, we keep a lot of storage for tools and different things and all the boxes.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we build it out, put a fridge there for whatever kind of drinks you want.
[SPEAKER_00]: Have a nice little outdoor stereo for when we're out camping, we can have some fun.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, just try to build it for off road, build it to enjoy.
[SPEAKER_04]: That's really amazing.
[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I like the fact that you have a height adjustable suspension, really useful truck, and do you put a camper back here as well?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, so I've got a Lance camper.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'll put on the bed to go camping with the family, and I've got some ramps.
[SPEAKER_00]: I can drive a full size Jeep, put a Jeep right on the bed, put a bronzer right on the bed.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you have a winch up here too.
[SPEAKER_00]: Got 25,000 pound warrior winch, so we can pull something if we break a Jeep off road.
[SPEAKER_00]: We can winch it right back onto the bed,
[SPEAKER_00]: and take it.
[SPEAKER_00]: We do a lot of Moab or Johnson Valley will be at King of Hammers this year.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, it's just trying to be utilitarian and usable.
[SPEAKER_04]: Very sweet.
[SPEAKER_04]: Thanks for sharing your rig with us.
[SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.
[SPEAKER_00]: Appreciate your stop.
[SPEAKER_04]: I love it.
[SPEAKER_04]: I love it.
[SPEAKER_04]: Especially picking up a vehicle and actually carrying on top of the bed here.
[SPEAKER_04]: Super sweet.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you very much.
[SPEAKER_04]: All right.
[SPEAKER_04]: So walking just a few feet from the Chevrolet we saw.
[SPEAKER_04]: I met Carl, you know, we've met what five years ago, maybe six years ago, we're talking about stuff, yeah, yeah, and I noticed this dude.
[SPEAKER_04]: There's a Toyota Land Cruiser pickup truck here, a 79 series, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, sir.
[SPEAKER_04]: And it has a really cool bow and bed on the back of it, but it also has your suspension on it, too.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Tell me a little bit about it.
[SPEAKER_03]: A new feature that we put together.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we had our partners over there in Australia, E.C.
[SPEAKER_03]: and Ultramanoff Road.
[SPEAKER_03]: OK.
[SPEAKER_03]: They have our product in Australia on the F trucks, OK, F trucks, boards.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they said, hey, we've got these land cruisers.
[SPEAKER_03]: Can you put something together for us?
[SPEAKER_03]: So they sent one over to us.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we did our traditional, you know, let's tear it apart and put it together.
[SPEAKER_03]: OK.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we got a liquid spring front struts.
[SPEAKER_03]: new radius arms underneath yeah can you show the radius arms are kind of here under the the driver door radius arms then are our four corner control systems so each corner has its own right height then coming back towards the rear
[SPEAKER_03]: We have what's called a traditional, this will be a triangulated forening system.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, so the lower control arm comes in straight.
[SPEAKER_03]: The upper control arms are displayed from the corner of the frame to the center line of the axle.
[SPEAKER_03]: So they're triangulated that holds it side to side.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then our power modules in here.
[SPEAKER_04]: This has a very giant truck, I mean it's kind of a mid-sized by comparison.
[SPEAKER_03]: Correct.
[SPEAKER_03]: Correct.
[SPEAKER_03]: Do what we are used to, normally.
[SPEAKER_03]: This will be like your 150.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: So not that small.
[SPEAKER_04]: Not that small, but yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: But size wise, it's not super big.
[SPEAKER_04]: Correct.
[SPEAKER_04]: That's interesting.
[SPEAKER_04]: So the red components are kind of the new components that you've added.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
[SPEAKER_03]: So it has all the traditional stuff that we've had, which is, you know, load leveling.
[SPEAKER_03]: that we have true earth so it has the ability if you put a rooftop tent it'll actually level the vehicle on the rock terrain on the rock terrain so again kind of simulating the rocks in the front okay so it'll true earth level and then this has the newest technology right sink so it has the ability to give you the same ride quality full or empty okay so we're traditionally you know a pickup truck would always be very rigid or tough
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, sorry.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yep, rough, you know, riding when it's empty.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, now with ride sink, we give you the ability for the same ride quality, empty or full.
[SPEAKER_04]: Are you kind of judging it by the height?
[SPEAKER_04]: Or how, how do you, can you tell me a little bit more about that?
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, we've added, we've added nitrogen to our liquid spring compressible silicone.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we have a little small nitrogen portion
[SPEAKER_03]: We use a little bit of the air compressibility, and then after that, it transitions into the silicone oil.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: So it's a seamless transition as you go through that weight ratings.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: Good loadings.
[SPEAKER_03]: And is that similar about the year like heavier systems as well?
[SPEAKER_03]: So right now it's on all the pickup trucks.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then we're going to transition that into the bigger trucks.
[SPEAKER_03]: The bigger commercial.
[SPEAKER_03]: So that way a guy that has like a dry storage box when he's empty he'll get a good ride quality as much as when he's full.
[SPEAKER_03]: Also, that's where it's going to transition to.
[SPEAKER_04]: Well this length goes to really caught our eye.
[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you for sharing eye.
[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you very much.
[SPEAKER_04]: And that's going to go into production, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: It is.
[SPEAKER_04]: That's the intent.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, that's great.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's probably January February timeframe.
[SPEAKER_03]: We'll have it in full production and we'll start off in Australia and then maybe Central America or and then the UAE.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well Toyota doesn't sell this here unfortunately.
[SPEAKER_03]: No.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I'll tell you why.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just going to get out of here.
[SPEAKER_03]: We'll go to the home screen.
[SPEAKER_03]: So this is more of our traditional home screen.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you're height on this thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we have a height.
[SPEAKER_04]: Which height is it in now?
[SPEAKER_03]: So we're probably in true Earth.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's an auto true Earth.
[SPEAKER_03]: So it's actually zeroed out on the rocks.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: So if I exit that, this will go in back to into our normal leveling mode.
[SPEAKER_03]: the nose is coming up and then the tail will level back out.
[SPEAKER_03]: So that'll be our normal leveling.
[SPEAKER_04]: All right, so let's take a wider view so we can kind of see it move.
[SPEAKER_04]: Do you want to play around with some of those heights again?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so this position right now is our normal drive mode.
[SPEAKER_03]: We've drove it up onto a rock.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now we're going to go and level it out.
[SPEAKER_03]: Put it in our truerth and truerth will actually get this truck to level out.
[SPEAKER_03]: The nose will come down, the tail will come up a little bit and we'll do a little twist.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now we're ready for camping.
[SPEAKER_03]: So if we had a roof top seat, really quickly.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: So a rooftop tent on it, we'd like you to level this thing out, now it's flat.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you could sleep zero, no problem.
[SPEAKER_03]: No problem.
[SPEAKER_03]: No problem.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's correct.
[SPEAKER_04]: That Land Cruiser was pretty special, but what is this?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we are just strolling up to this.
[SPEAKER_01]: A few of these vehicles we've seen before, we started rolling and then some other stuff we want to check out as we're seeing it for the first time.
[SPEAKER_01]: And this is one of those.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's an absolutely massive single cab dolly.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's labeled as F550.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: On also.
[SPEAKER_04]: And it's got colder men's suspension, look at those components with air, oh yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: Holy.
[SPEAKER_04]: Jebus.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: This looks like something that took us a few bucks and a couple hours to build.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot going on here.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's got giant MPT tires, basically military.
[SPEAKER_04]: tires and the rear suspension, did look at that.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's almost like all remained.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's crazy.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the truck itself is pretty much all blacked out, but the frame underneath is painted a kind of copper.
[SPEAKER_01]: Colour, it's got a pretty insane sport bar.
[SPEAKER_04]: So you look at that's there that I'm about six three and I'm barely can look over the bed Yeah exactly this truck is pretty big Oh, and they got a room next to it a big duly nice.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, this is kind of up your alley.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, very cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll also black down
[SPEAKER_01]: pretty stealthy, it's kind of neat, just this room, bumper with a recovery point, that's massive.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, absolutely massive stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: So a couple of pretty cool, massive HD trucks that are out here.
[SPEAKER_04]: So we're right now in the west hall, so there's west hall, there's north, central, there's south hall, two floors, and stuff outside, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, there's so much going on here.
[SPEAKER_04]: And also, right now in the West Hall, it's kind of a mixture of things, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: There's some trucks and campers, but there's also accessories, earthflowers over here, for example.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so if we take a little detour through a few of these other vendors, we can see earthmower as well.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's cut naturally.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're massive, massive campers.
[SPEAKER_01]: This one that we're looking at right now is finished in kind of an eggplant.
[SPEAKER_01]: color.
[SPEAKER_04]: That seems to be popular these days.
[SPEAKER_04]: Kind of like a purple color.
[SPEAKER_04]: A lot of manufacturers Toyota is doing it.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: Stylant is Dodge and this is on the LTX and this is number 17.
[SPEAKER_04]: You know the number of their vehicles because like a serial number?
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's quite popular.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and it's just huge.
[SPEAKER_01]: You can kind of see a peak on the interior.
[SPEAKER_04]: Do you see the wine in the wine cellar up there?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so not only is it a big and rugged, but theoretically also pretty luxurious.
[SPEAKER_01]: You've got some.
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you want to check it out?
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's walk up the stairs and check it out.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man.
[SPEAKER_01]: Look at the bathroom laundry.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a yacht.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's got like teak floors in the bathroom.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just pretty cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's all pretty self-contained, your shower, and everything is in there.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's still got to be relatively compact.
[SPEAKER_01]: But you got a little living room, kitchen, counter, refergerator.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like you said, Andre, you've got the little wine cellar, and a couch, an L-shaped couch.
[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, take this space is not humongous, but it's really, I mean, I point it, of course, these are very expensive, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: There's like a million bucks.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, absolutely, and then a pass through in the interior, which is also a pretty neat cell.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, they're very high-end materials in here.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, absolutely.
[SPEAKER_04]: And also a big staircase.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and yes, it was like day-on-grace, so staircase up and down isn't feeling that great.
[SPEAKER_01]: But there's also a Chevy Earth Rumor, so it's not just a Ford platform that I do feel like they're a little more known for.
[SPEAKER_04]: But do you see this?
[SPEAKER_04]: Do you recognize that mountain?
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I mean, absolutely.
[SPEAKER_04]: That's bolder value-based.
[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, it's not too far from where we're based.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, in Colorado, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they've got a Chevy platform truck as well.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's walk around that this way really quickly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Looks to be maybe a step larger than the Ford.
[SPEAKER_04]: A little bit because this is a more commercial chassis, where the then that is still a 550, but this is like a 6,500.
[SPEAKER_04]: Very similar to that truck we saw in the liquid spring booth, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: Sure.
[SPEAKER_04]: But of course this has a longer body and a gigantic camper section here.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, an absolutely massive camper once again some storage underneath.
[SPEAKER_01]: So kind of the configuration of it is pretty similar in the way that it's laid out.
[SPEAKER_01]: But it's insane to stand next to one of these because it is a building on wheels.
[SPEAKER_01]: 100%.
[SPEAKER_04]: Look at me, just compare, I mean, I know this podcast is visual, so we're apologised.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's no way around.
[SPEAKER_04]: I am, I think it's twice as tall as I am.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, maybe more.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's probably about 12 feet tall.
[SPEAKER_04]: Well, well,
[SPEAKER_04]: semi-trucks are limited to 13-5.
[SPEAKER_04]: That's the height, uh, a maximum height on the interstate highway.
[SPEAKER_04]: So this must be about 13, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this earthroller is probably crushing up against that limit.
[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's some boxes for storage on the rear.
[SPEAKER_01]: Look, what do you think of that bumper on, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: Pretty massive.
[SPEAKER_04]: And of course, there's a winch built in here.
[SPEAKER_04]: But we actually met a friend of the show Matt Scott from Overland Journal podcast Yeah, and he actually has a Ford chassis Erframer, and I remember listening to his podcast him talking about the weight of the vehicle, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: Because it's one thing to have all the luxury features But it's a whole other thing to actually You know, off-road it and sometimes, you know, loose ground you can sink in
[SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to think in one of these.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, there's more trails I wouldn't want to take this on than trails that I will.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll say that much.
[SPEAKER_04]: Alrighty, well let's keep moving.
[SPEAKER_04]: You may know this about me.
[SPEAKER_04]: I love convertibles of any kind.
[SPEAKER_04]: But what I love even more is combining a floating.
[SPEAKER_04]: and convertibles as well.
[SPEAKER_04]: And there's something new here at the show of Seema 2025 from Bestop.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's electrically powered tops for two-dollar Broncos, four-door Broncos, of course, as before, and also jeeps.
[SPEAKER_04]: So let's check it out.
[SPEAKER_02]: K-RIC.
[SPEAKER_02]: How you doing, Andre?
[SPEAKER_02]: Good to see you in the Seema 2025.
[SPEAKER_04]: to see you again.
[SPEAKER_02]: And we have here a 2-door Bronco with a very cool top.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, this is the first power e-top convertible for the Bronco 2-door.
[SPEAKER_04]: Dude, because you know, when you're going up road and you have a hard top, right, what do you do?
[SPEAKER_04]: You have to unbolt it, you have to, you know, have maybe a friend help you, right?
[SPEAKER_02]: Take it off and I've got those removable roof panels, if you've got the factory hard top.
[SPEAKER_02]: This eliminates all of that.
[SPEAKER_02]: It gives you the freedom to be able to open and close the soft top with convenience of a single button all powered.
[SPEAKER_02]: You can do it right from the driver's seat.
[SPEAKER_02]: Can you show the button here on the console as well?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Integrated right here onto the console.
[SPEAKER_02]: We have a nice single button.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's tied in with the brakes, right?
[SPEAKER_02]: So you don't operate it accidentally while you're driving.
[SPEAKER_02]: two manual latches, a button, full top down.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and kind of like factory integration almost.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, just a very smooth integration there.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, best top took the lessons that we learned with our four door E-top for Bronco, the one that we worked with, for to get integrated and developed.
[SPEAKER_02]: and transfer that over here to the Tudor.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, can we show it in action?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, yes, I've got a friend.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to operate that for us.
[SPEAKER_02]: We've hooked up in the show this year, so that we can do that right from the side of the view.
[SPEAKER_04]: So there's two manual latches in the front, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: Correct.
[SPEAKER_04]: Just clip it on, but undo it.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it operates like this.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, super simple goes down just like that.
[SPEAKER_02]: And allows you to experience the open air
[SPEAKER_02]: any time you want.
[SPEAKER_02]: Sweet.
[SPEAKER_02]: And that took what like I don't know 10 seconds.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, 15 seconds.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and it's not very long.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, not long at all.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: And you don't have to get out of the car to do it if you're actually operating right or something.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: something like that, you can really do it.
[SPEAKER_04]: Is this on sale already or is there something coming up?
[SPEAKER_02]: This is going to be available in the spring next year, 2020 says.
[SPEAKER_02]: OK, pricing is $49.95 for the black and new for this year.
[SPEAKER_02]: We are going to be introducing four new colors for e-top as well.
[SPEAKER_02]: Can we look at some of
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we have an example right here on the Wrangler.
[SPEAKER_04]: And this is what we're talking about with a couple of new colors that are additional, right?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, also available in Spring of 2026.
[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to have four new colors in addition to the black.
[SPEAKER_02]: They'll be a champagne and admiral, a Merlot and a smoke.
[SPEAKER_02]: I like those things, right?
[SPEAKER_02]: They just sound exciting.
[SPEAKER_04]: Well, they kind of also point to the mood or the color that's there, right?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, right.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think that most of Jeep owners and Bronco owners, it's really about experiencing a lifestyle and I think that these products allow them to kind of embrace that super convenient, easy to use.
[SPEAKER_02]: and really enables them to enjoy the outdoors, the way that they want to.
[SPEAKER_04]: And I really like this Jeep, this Wrangler JL here, we're looking at because the wheels and the body collar.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you know, tying it together.
[SPEAKER_02]: That was a subtle detail that our team tried to put together for the show this year, and I am so happy that you really caught on to that.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's really sweet, and the green and kind of...
[SPEAKER_04]: Is this the Champagne?
[SPEAKER_04]: This is the Champagne.
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I got it right.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_04]: I got it right.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe Prosecco or something.
[SPEAKER_04]: No, that's something else.
[SPEAKER_04]: That's a different sparkling wine.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, yes.
[SPEAKER_04]: But that's really cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: And is this one of the manually operated ones, as well?
[SPEAKER_02]: No, this one is also fully electric.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: With manual latches, but a fully electric top.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, E-top.
[SPEAKER_02]: E-top.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's very sweet.
[SPEAKER_02]: We have the e-top for the JL Body Style and the Fordor and the two-door.
[SPEAKER_02]: And we have a Fordor JK that we are preparing to release and bring to market as well.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: So in the market, in general, if I look at like clips and cars, there's not a lot of convertibles anymore.
[SPEAKER_04]: Right?
[SPEAKER_04]: You know, if you look like 20 or 30, hey, it just opened up.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, how about that?
[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, you missed it.
[SPEAKER_04]: There's not a lot of convertibles, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: There's some German manufacturers that make some cars, but, and maybe a Mustang, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: Mustang convertible.
[SPEAKER_04]: But, combining a floating with the Bronco and the Jeep, like this, the Wrangler, and also the ease of use, yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: Because in Colorado, you know this.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: You can rain.
[SPEAKER_02]: It can snow.
[SPEAKER_02]: You have just really quickly changing weather conditions and the convenience of being able to open and close the top.
[SPEAKER_02]: Without having to exit the vehicle while you're at a stop sign, stop light, park and lot.
[SPEAKER_02]: Top goes up or down and you can fully enjoy what you're vehicle was completely supposed to be helping you do.
[SPEAKER_02]: All right, well really nice to see you again.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, all right.
[SPEAKER_04]: Always a good time.
[SPEAKER_04]: All right.
[SPEAKER_04]: Thanks for showing us some of the latest stuff.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: You're always welcome.
[SPEAKER_04]: I appreciate it.
[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_04]: Let me let me take the camera.
[SPEAKER_01]: G wagon.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, so case night play this game often when we're driving around.
[SPEAKER_04]: If you see a G wagon, you have to say G wagon.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like the punch buggy game, but without the violence.
[SPEAKER_01]: The violence on the side, I guess, if you see the menus to include it.
[SPEAKER_04]: Dude, this is something special.
[SPEAKER_04]: This is the adrenaline industries.
[SPEAKER_04]: Built up G-Wagon pickup truck, which is fully custom done, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and it looks extensive.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, since I said G-Wagon first after seeing it, I now have ten points.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and that's zero.
[SPEAKER_01]: Andre is behind game resets every day, fear intuition playing along at home.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: But this is insane.
[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder what it is that they started with and how they created this because you've got the front two thirds of a G wagon with a custom bed and a rear.
[SPEAKER_04]: So I know adrenaline industries
[SPEAKER_04]: They do a lot of custom work.
[SPEAKER_04]: They build big campers, they build trucks like this.
[SPEAKER_04]: So I think they extended the frame.
[SPEAKER_04]: Like, I don't know, I can't find my friend.
[SPEAKER_04]: But nonetheless, it looks like they extended the chassis.
[SPEAKER_04]: They put these big tires on it.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's 38.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, 38.
[SPEAKER_01]: 38.
[SPEAKER_04]: So by 13 and a half.
[SPEAKER_01]: Twin shocks, there's some pretty crazy sliders underneath the body as well.
[SPEAKER_01]: Look at just the sheer amount of height.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think this is on portals on dry.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is.
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, it is.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: Well, why not, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that is a G-wagon thing, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: So, no reason not to.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, once again, there's tons of room underneath it, but it's also got especially wide fenders.
[SPEAKER_01]: That means that you've got extra track width to go with the height.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, it maybe not quite as tippy, which is nice.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, now let's go do it.
[SPEAKER_04]: So it's basic that you reckon squared.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, let's go.
[SPEAKER_01]: The four by four squared style visor.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah up on the front.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this one over top of the windshield.
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, that's all pretty cool stuff.
[SPEAKER_04]: So far, you're winning the 10.00.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, 100%.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, massive, gnarly steel bumper.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right up front as well.
[SPEAKER_01]: So all of this is pretty cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: Twin shocks.
[SPEAKER_04]: all the way around.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is a nut ski wagon.
[SPEAKER_01]: I like it.
[SPEAKER_01]: G-wagon?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: You got me there.
[SPEAKER_04]: All right, is it 10-10?
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like 10-10, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So Andre's got 10 points for this ski wagon.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's got a rooftop 10-tonnet?
[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so it's technically not a pickup truck, but still nonetheless, it is a G-wagon.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's true, so I almost feel like mine counts for a little bit more, because this is a truck podcast.
[SPEAKER_04]: but right next to it is a pickup truck.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a pickup truck next to it, but you know, you get 10 points, but mine's better.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, this is, this is a cool GWW as well.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's got a lift, kind of bigger wheels than I would put on it, but man, it makes a statement.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right next to it, there's an F-150 with a hell of a color scheme.
[SPEAKER_01]: Whoa, Andre.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this is,
[SPEAKER_01]: a newer F-150 with a wood-betting circuit.
[SPEAKER_04]: A wood-betting circuit, I love that, it's so classic.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, look at this.
[SPEAKER_04]: And it's Christopher Caws called RetroLinerV.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, bedwood.com.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, we have a lot of sponsored video.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, on a truck like this, that's pretty cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't just put the wood in any F-150.
[SPEAKER_04]: But a two-door regular cab, a short bed, I think it's appropriate.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's very nice.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of a cool color scheme, so yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's neat.
[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't know anybody made a wood bed insert, but that's kind of cool.
[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so there is a ladder on this G-wagon, but I think it's kind of a little ladder.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a little narrow.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think.
[SPEAKER_04]: I think for an older gentleman like me, I would have trouble climbing in here.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, especially without stepping on the nice paint.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but there is a rooftop tent, so a ladder of sorts is justifiable.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's for sure.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, pretty cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: Look at that fancy intake set up here on the G-Wagon.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is going to be a rough podcast for people that are just trying to listen to it.
[SPEAKER_04]: So imagine just a G-Wagon that's lifted up a little bit and in this mad green color and just really macho looking macho But a small ladder, okay?
[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, we just stumbled it in the Nissan booth Yeah, we weren't actually necessarily looking for but we found it and the thing that jumps out at you the most right off the bat is this front here
[SPEAKER_04]: monster lift.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so they went so good.
[SPEAKER_04]: Roman actually did some detailed videos about some of these Nissan's, so I know we have some unique videos on oldtfl.com, but you and I haven't seen this in person yet, and it's very loud.
[SPEAKER_04]: There's like a DJ here spinning records.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the other thing I'm noticing is it looks like this truck has actually been used off road a little bit because there's dirt on it, which is great.
[SPEAKER_04]: We know several years ago, we also brought a ram rebel, ram 1500 rebel with a lot of mud when we were displaying it here at the show, and that's kind of unique, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: You don't see a lot of vehicles with some dirt on them.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's really cool, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Most of them have been dipped in a pool of armor all.
[SPEAKER_01]: This one looks more...
[SPEAKER_04]: Dude, this patrol is something else, it's basically Armada, which is a patrol overseas, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly, and it's got some pretty serious modifications, Bill Steinshock's, two of them that are massive.
[SPEAKER_05]: Look at that!
[SPEAKER_01]: That's crazy, in a fair amount of articulation, I'm not used to seeing an Easton SUV.
[SPEAKER_01]: with this kind of off-road capability in our articulation, at least not recently, it's been since the exterior of really here that we've gotten to see stuff like this.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that means they would love to push more in that direction and not be happy to see that as well.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's a pretty good stuff that's kicking around here in the knee so we should we should see the front of this patrol really quick because I think that's really cool Yeah, we got a napkin out.
[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, dude.
[SPEAKER_04]: What up?
[SPEAKER_01]: What up?
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, good show.
[SPEAKER_04]: Good to see you.
[SPEAKER_04]: I'll talk to you in a second Now, dude, this is very crowded in here.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's Ain't a lot of stuff going on.
[SPEAKER_04]: We'll see you with sometimes just like, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah
[SPEAKER_04]: Wow, what do you think about this front bumper dude?
[SPEAKER_01]: That's super cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: I like the big amber off-road lights that are integrated into it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's really nice.
[SPEAKER_04]: So by the way, I wanted to say, you mentioned the exterior, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, the exterior is coming back.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's true, that's what they say.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be interesting to see what they do with it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully, they base it enough on the front here to get some pretty decent running gear underneath it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and naturally aspirated 3.8, lead to V6, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Rear locker at least.
[SPEAKER_01]: All of those things would be awesome to see in a new exterior.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll find out when it actually launches.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, because it has a lot of competition, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: The 400, the Bronco, the Wrangler, and at least the 400 has a hybrid as well, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: So that's a lot to compete against.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I think it makes sense to bring the exterior back.
[SPEAKER_01]: Those are some very popular vehicle segment.
[SPEAKER_04]: Nice.
[SPEAKER_04]: All right, let's keep moving on.
[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so we appeared in Toyota booth here, which is a large space, and it's quite loud in here, but look at what Toyota is showing here.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is what they're calling a Sion SCO1.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not what we're used to a Sion being.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, because it's essentially a large side-by-side, and I say large, because
[SPEAKER_01]: This is using a 2.4 liter hybrid.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's a good power train from... Atakoma.
[SPEAKER_04]: From it's a hybrid power train.
[SPEAKER_04]: They're saying at least 300 horsepower, and it's a large machine.
[SPEAKER_04]: Think about like a four-seater, Polaris Razer R, Pro R, or a K&M Maverick R Max X.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Something along those lines, but a little more futuristic in its design because this is a concept.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is not something slotted for production as of yet.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not impossible because Honda, for example, they make cars and they make power sports products.
[SPEAKER_01]: this running on that hybrid power train would probably be on the heavy side for sure.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, so I spoke to Todd and the team Toyota engineering team that actually worked on this project.
[SPEAKER_04]: By the way, this is currently a one-off.
[SPEAKER_04]: So this is not like they're bringing their entering the market, but they're teasing us, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: So if you like it, maybe they will.
[SPEAKER_04]: He told me this vehicle weighs upwards of 4,000 pounds right now.
[SPEAKER_04]: So that's quite a heavy machine.
[SPEAKER_01]: for a side-by-side that is definitely pretty heavy.
[SPEAKER_04]: But it's on 35s.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, maxes 35 inch tires and, especially with, they say, 26 inches of travel.
[SPEAKER_01]: So quite a bit.
[SPEAKER_01]: And all of the goodies that you would want on a vehicle like this, there's a windchup front, there's a lot of underbody protection.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they really, they went to the extreme designing it and putting it together.
[SPEAKER_04]: yeah so we have a separate video about this we actually like walk all the way around this and and show it and the whole point of this machine is also like parts like the knuckles the the hubs um they're trying to reuse from other vehicles like the trucks that they have and of course the chassis is unique for them.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, there's also a few other cool things that they have on-dry before we had that way real quick.
[SPEAKER_01]: We'll just mention it as a side note.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is another vehicle that we have a full video on on the classics channel, but they've also got a 60 series land cruiser that for the most part looks pretty original, the body.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's got a slight lift in the 35s as well, but under the hood, they've got the 3.4 liter twin turbo V6 from a tundra.
[SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_04]: And a 5-speed manual transmission.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, runs the original manual transmission that this came with in the original transfer case.
[SPEAKER_01]: But what they said is that maybe sometime in the future, they could offer these as great engines to swap in like what a lot of the other manufacturers do.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's also really good.
[SPEAKER_04]: And that would be like a mission's legal fully, basically warranty engine from the manufacturer, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: exactly, so that could be something interesting, especially if you have an old land cruiser and you want to keep it powered by a heart from Toyota that made the vehicle in the first place, which would be kind of cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: And there's another, I would call it a controversial,
[SPEAKER_01]: vehicle and the triumphant booth here that we did a video on and it's the Tacoma H2 overlander.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is very much a concept.
[SPEAKER_01]: They use some existing power train parts like the fuel cell from a Toyota Mirais and this is a hydrogen powered Tacoma.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, and two electric motors that combine for 547 horsepower.
[SPEAKER_04]: And I did the video right.
[SPEAKER_04]: You and I did the video.
[SPEAKER_04]: We published it on
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, people were, people were upset.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hoking all's in the practicality of a hydrogen vehicle.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, we've tested the Toyota Mori.
[SPEAKER_04]: We've tested the Toyota Summit trucks that run on hydrogen.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so we've actually personally tested hydrogen vehicles.
[SPEAKER_01]: We know that there are impracticalities around it.
[SPEAKER_01]: But at the same time, we think it's kind of cool just to see Toyota do something different because everybody out there has...
[SPEAKER_01]: a gas powered Tacoma with a supercharger in the 37s.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is the kind of thing that really only Toyota would be able to pull together.
[SPEAKER_04]: Exactly, and that's crazy specs.
[SPEAKER_04]: Fifteen kilowatts of exportable power.
[SPEAKER_04]: So I think the concept of the school, that's why we did the video, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: It's not saying like, there's no hydrogen stations anywhere across the country, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: But in 10 years there might be.
[SPEAKER_04]: So this could be something else.
[SPEAKER_01]: and in the practicality of it at the moment is besides a point because there's not something that they're actually looking at building right now.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a way to flex what they're capable of doing.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I thought it was funny reading some of the comments because it doesn't seem like people are able to just see a cool thing and say, hey, that's interesting.
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe not for me, but whatever.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, everyone has got to be up in arms about.
[SPEAKER_01]: Either way, it is a pretty interesting vehicle, so those are some of the highlights here at the Toyota booth.
[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so you know me, I love myself a trophy truck, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, who doesn't want to ride that?
[SPEAKER_01]: That's like saying you love breathing air.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's like saying I love being in butter and jelly or out of no apple pie.
[SPEAKER_04]: Well, we're in the Honda booth right now, and we've seen this before.
[SPEAKER_04]: This is basically their custom-built HRC Honda racing Baja runner, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is obviously very extreme.
[SPEAKER_01]: It says passport on the back of it
[SPEAKER_04]: But I don't think there's any passport type parts, almost in this.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's very fresh.
[SPEAKER_04]: But you know what is a passport?
[SPEAKER_04]: That passport.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's true.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they do have an actual passport that's more like something you could go out and buy and potentially modify on your own.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we have right now also in orange.
[SPEAKER_01]: on a passport transport, our office has a long-term tester for the next couple months.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And we've already tested it off road a little bit, and the all-wheel drive system is really good.
[SPEAKER_01]: The biggest limitation is clearance.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so look at this.
[SPEAKER_04]: What they've done for this prototype here is they really increase the clearance.
[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, there's several, maybe a couple more inches of it here.
[SPEAKER_04]: And I think it just transforms what this car is.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and then some forged Honda Racing HRC branded wheels as well.
[SPEAKER_01]: Much more aggressive Falcon Wild Peak RT tires, a slight rock slider, a roof rack set up, and then even seems like the rear bumper has been messed with a little bit yet.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to swing out for full size of the air.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's very nice.
[SPEAKER_01]: all super accessible, some recovery points.
[SPEAKER_04]: And a spare tire, like you said, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Off road lights, traction boards, everything.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they've gone to town, making this more rugged, which is pretty cool because once again, it's a platform and an all-wheel drive system that does a really good job on its own.
[SPEAKER_01]: So if you could take it and then improve some of those areas, like clearance and traction,
[SPEAKER_01]: You can probably make this into a pretty decent.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's not going to be a Wrangler competitor, but look at this kind of out here, you know, it's really kind of steep, so a broach angle, it's a pretty good one here.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so modified from bumper as well, some very accessible recovery points and a winch up front, looks like a factor 55, winch, fair lead and an ultra hook, which is cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: I've been seeing a lot of factor 55 stuff, which makes you feel a little better because that's what I've got on my floor by floor.
[SPEAKER_04]: So I think, I mean, the current passport, child's part is good.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's got really good old, old drive system, but they need to put this to production, I think.
[SPEAKER_04]: They need to get it higher in the air.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this helps in a few of the other areas.
[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, this is still a vehicle that doesn't have a low range, and you're always going to have some limitations there, as far as torque that you could deliver to the wheels.
[SPEAKER_01]: So...
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's not, again, gonna be a Wrangler competitor or even a 4-run competitor, but it's still pretty neat and I bet you could do some not only trails on it, reasonably not only for a passport, but it's not a pickup truck.
[SPEAKER_04]: Let's head this way and let's go see some more.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think we found Andre's favorite truck at the show.
[SPEAKER_04]: Well, there are many choices and options, but what I would like is I would like a classic body truck
[SPEAKER_04]: Because I have, you know, two kids and my lovely wife and a dog and a dog, so this is nice.
[SPEAKER_04]: What do you think, oh my gosh, dude, it's got a modern interior?
[SPEAKER_01]: I know, it's pretty cool, so they're calling this GT600.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's a big bodied old Ford pickup truck with a beautiful front end.
[SPEAKER_01]: two-tone, so white and red, which is arguably the right color combo, it says Shelby across the hood.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then on the top of the hood, we were looking to see what it says Raptor.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's all pretty good.
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, can you?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, appreciate it.
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, is this yours?
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: Dude, it's a really nice truck.
[SPEAKER_04]: We're recording.
[SPEAKER_04]: How long did it take?
[SPEAKER_04]: We're recording.
[SPEAKER_04]: How long did it take?
[SPEAKER_06]: So this one is actually one of our co-owners as a personal vehicle.
[SPEAKER_06]: So any time we had a customer order come in, this one kind of went to the back burner.
[SPEAKER_06]: So we've been about three years on it.
[SPEAKER_06]: Typical turnaround would be a year.
[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, something like this.
[SPEAKER_06]: So this is a 2012 Shelby Raptor.
[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, so this is a 2012 Raptor that we took down to Shelby.
[SPEAKER_06]: had them do all their handy work on the supercharger with the supercharger on it and we told them what we were doing with it so they actually gave us all the badging, all the vintags, everything like that in a bag, sent it with a separate so that we could actually put it all in ourselves later.
[SPEAKER_04]: So, and what about the body?
[SPEAKER_06]: The body is a 65 Ford crew cap, so this is the first year that Ford started doing factory crew caps.
[SPEAKER_06]: So all factory, all original, they only made 400 of these from 65 to 66.
[SPEAKER_06]: Mostly for railroads, military, forestry division, and this is one of those 400.
[SPEAKER_06]: We have 18 in our inventory for customer orders to build on with these 65 crew caps.
[SPEAKER_04]: And how do you source these?
[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, there's just, like, they don't show up from this guy.
[SPEAKER_06]: You got to keep your eyes open.
[SPEAKER_06]: So we've been kind of piling them up over the years.
[SPEAKER_06]: We have to keep them hidden away.
[SPEAKER_06]: Everyone wants to buy them from us.
[SPEAKER_06]: Every time they see them, they go, hey, we just sell me the body.
[SPEAKER_06]: So we'll sell you the body if you put a build underneath it.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's, we're not just going to sell you the body.
[SPEAKER_06]: This one, we actually did a firewall and floor swap on.
[SPEAKER_04]: So can you show us?
[SPEAKER_06]: We cut a little floor, yeah, of course.
[SPEAKER_06]: We cut the floor out of this 1965 and put the 2012 floor inside of it.
[SPEAKER_06]: So you have electric seats, heated cool seats.
[SPEAKER_06]: You have your infotainment in the center with Bluetooth stereo, backup camera.
[SPEAKER_06]: It has the factory Raptor gauges that we custom 3D print a housing to fit into the 1965 dash.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's the perfect blend of the modern with the old.
[SPEAKER_04]: I would agree.
[SPEAKER_04]: I was he was just asking me what my favorite like pick-up truck we've seen so far.
[SPEAKER_04]: This was it It's awesome.
[SPEAKER_04]: How much is this like a build like this with cars?
[SPEAKER_06]: A build similar this so basing my numbers off base without the Shelby work done to it Without the paint done to it.
[SPEAKER_06]: You're gonna be in the ballpark of 200,000
[SPEAKER_04]: And of course, pink and that quite a bit.
[SPEAKER_06]: Hey, can I quite a bit, depending how far you want to take it?
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_06]: This one we wanted to be a daily driver, so we kept it to that quality.
[SPEAKER_06]: We stayed true to that.
[SPEAKER_06]: We've put miles on these things.
[SPEAKER_06]: We have a 1966 crew cab similar to this with a rouse supercharged F150 that we've put over 170,000 miles on.
[SPEAKER_06]: So we've proven our concept out using it as a pickup.
[SPEAKER_06]: We pull with it, we haul with it.
[SPEAKER_06]: We use it just like you would use an F150 pickup from 2013.
[SPEAKER_06]: And, you know, even though this is a 2012 and that one as an example is a 2013, we are staying up on it, we're doing a 2024 Raptor R, right now, that has the same body style on it.
[SPEAKER_05]: Wow.
[SPEAKER_06]: So there's a couple, a couple neat little details on this, you know, where we hide stuff so we don't have to dig into that too much, you still get your factory easy fill.
[SPEAKER_06]: 91 octane only, of course, you gotta keep that supercharger fed.
[SPEAKER_01]: is most of the bed original as well.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know he said the cam.
[SPEAKER_06]: So this box we actually had done by Pro's pick because this is a raptor.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's seven inches wider than a typical pickup.
[SPEAKER_06]: So we had to have them wide in the box about 10 inches.
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I see.
[SPEAKER_06]: And that's the reason we go at the F600 front fenders hence the GT 600.
[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, I got you.
[SPEAKER_06]: Eats up a little bit of that tire poke.
[SPEAKER_04]: Well, when I make some more money, I'll give you a call, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: Definitely, very much.
[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you very much.
[SPEAKER_04]: You bet.
[SPEAKER_01]: G-wagon Andre.
[SPEAKER_01]: What?
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's another pick-up.
[SPEAKER_01]: So again, both of the G-wagon's I picked out had beds.
[SPEAKER_01]: And now I've got 20 points.
[SPEAKER_04]: and also it's a six by six.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this is legit.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is the King of G-Wag and what could I do?
[SPEAKER_04]: But I have a question case.
[SPEAKER_04]: Does it have Bluetooth drive shafts?
[SPEAKER_01]: No, it appears that this one has a real drive shaft, which is good news, because...
[SPEAKER_04]: But what about the tag axle?
[SPEAKER_01]: We have seen a couple Bluetooth drive shafts.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think we still will see.
[SPEAKER_04]: I want to change the name, though.
[SPEAKER_04]: I want to start calling it AI drive shafts.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's always our seam and joke.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that looks real.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, tag axles got it as well.
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, this thing is legit Yeah, but how's it going?
[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, yeah, the uh, that's that's another 4x4 squared.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and the this is wide body and it's But wait are these portals?
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a 4x4 squared Andre
[SPEAKER_04]: Is it?
[SPEAKER_04]: It's a six by six.
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_04]: Six by six squared?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that is pretty cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: I've actually never seen one of these in person.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is sweet.
[SPEAKER_01]: Is this the one you remember didn't somebody reach out to us because they don't know that was what that was painted white right That's from Colorado.
[SPEAKER_04]: This is something else I believe this one is white underneath though.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, oh, maybe it's wrapped Yeah, yeah, I thought it was so this could be the one.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, somebody Reach out well there are G 65 which is a B12
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: And this says, oh, she's 63, so let's see.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they're saying, oh yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this is something that somebody built themselves.
[SPEAKER_04]: But I think we're looking for a V121 from Colorado.
[SPEAKER_01]: But not the one that we're thinking of.
[SPEAKER_04]: So still, I mean, it's really amazing.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they started with an actual G-wagon.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I still get the points.
[SPEAKER_04]: OK.
[SPEAKER_04]: I agree.
[SPEAKER_04]: I agree.
[SPEAKER_04]: You're winning.
[SPEAKER_04]: But dude, let's finish up outside.
[SPEAKER_04]: I think the crowds here are pretty heavy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: But nonetheless, and the also the bass is heavy out here.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: The bass is booming and permeating.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: The whole show definitely as the day goes on and gets more and more crowded.
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, we'll go ahead and wrap up podcast.
[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think of the show this year?
[SPEAKER_04]: So, I'm pretty happy to see that a lot of OEMs came out, not all of them because GM is not here, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[SPEAKER_04]: GM is not here, but many of the others are here.
[SPEAKER_04]: I was happy to see that.
[SPEAKER_04]: They're showing some new stuff.
[SPEAKER_04]: And also, look at the number of people here.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
[SPEAKER_04]: I've never seen it this busy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Tons of people, tons of trucks right behind us right now, is that that comes at Scott.
[SPEAKER_01]: So many turbos are wrapped at the front and the boat is on there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, which I think was one of Whistland easels trucks at one point.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's tons of absolutely massive drifted trucks.
[SPEAKER_04]: Let me come up to one of these because now we're entering what I call brodover boulevard.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, let's walk up to the biggest one that we see right now and look at how you compare Andre the tires on this one are almost as tall as I am.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, this is massive dude and I don't know if the sidestep will this little step will help you get in You can't get your foot up there, Andre?
[SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm not that limber Yeah, yeah, no, I might not be either And it's a foldable steering package here Yeah, and you can hear lots of V8 noises out here as well Yeah, there's absolutely tons going on around us I also see pretty kidded out second gen behind us as well Ooh, yeah, with air suspension also pretty massively lifted
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, case, does it have, oh, no, it has a Bluetooth drive shaft.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it looked down there.
[SPEAKER_01]: It does appear to have a Bluetooth drive shaft.
[SPEAKER_04]: No, it's closer to us.
[SPEAKER_04]: Do you see that?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so if he had, there is a bit of that going around it's an epidemic really.
[SPEAKER_01]: But still, there's a lot of really cool trucks around.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's so much here every single year that we really can't see at all.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's tons of things that we end up missing.
[SPEAKER_04]: Godzilla, this is the F-100 from the 70s.
[SPEAKER_01]: People doing some other crate motor swamps like what we've seen on some other vehicles that we looked at since getting here so yeah tons are really cool stuff at the show as always and it's also
[SPEAKER_01]: It's also a pretty exhausting day, but well worth it, because you see a lot of really neat stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: You meet some really cool people.
[SPEAKER_01]: We got to interact with some people that watch some of the videos that we did.
[SPEAKER_01]: We have to do a burnout.
[SPEAKER_01]: Burnouts going on over by the Hoonigan tent, which we won't get too close to because that wouldn't make for a very good podcast audio, not that it's great right now.
[SPEAKER_04]: No, when you're just describing what we're seeing, I can't even hear what you're saying.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're right next to each other.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, with all of that in mind, it's probably about time for us to wrap this thing up, but yeah, another great year here at Seema, always excited to come out.
[SPEAKER_04]: And I think the success of the show is really had to do with people, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: We saw probably more people.
[SPEAKER_04]: than ever before.
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh yeah, I think that's a success.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's definitely not a show that's getting any smaller.
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe we can end it on this square body with a big supercharger.
[SPEAKER_04]: So I think we could finish here, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, all really cool stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you have a favorite?
[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like it's the GT 600.
[SPEAKER_04]: I think the GT 600 was my favorite.
[SPEAKER_04]: What about you?
[SPEAKER_04]: One of the G-Wag is maybe?
[SPEAKER_01]: I might have to agree if you want to see the GTX.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, the GTX 100 was missed.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it was a jacked-up truck, I think, was a company's name of the one.
[SPEAKER_01]: One thing is not a sponsored video.
[SPEAKER_01]: Not sponsored, but that was a really cool truck.
[SPEAKER_01]: So tons of really neat stuff around.
[SPEAKER_01]: This was a good day.
[SPEAKER_04]: I do that, I'm exhausted.
[SPEAKER_04]: And we didn't see 100% of the show.
[SPEAKER_04]: So thank you for joining us once again.
[SPEAKER_04]: We'll see you next time.
[SPEAKER_04]: Stay tuned to oldtfl.com for a lot more from the show.
