Episode 76 - The Harlequins pt 1 - Where they come from, who & what they are.
On today’s cast we begin our coverage of the Harlequins! We start with the history of the Harlequins (what we know of it) and more importantly their god Cegorach. From there we move onto the masques of the Harlequins and how they interact with greater Eldar culture (Craftworld, Corsair Fleets, Exodites, and Drukhari). Then we dive into the different masque forms and how they wage war. We then close out on the weaponry of the Harlequins and their units.

[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the Forty K-Lorecast. [SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to FortyKaLorecast with me, John Barsati and Brad Chester. [SPEAKER_01]: Disgap. [SPEAKER_01]: On today's cast, we're gonna fanboy about Eldar stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: Clans, yep. [SPEAKER_01]: We're going hard in the paint because I love Harley Quinn's. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't bread likes him, but I know I love Harley Quinn's. [SPEAKER_01]: But as always for those of unaware, the FortyKaLorecast is a weekly podcast in the lore of the Warhammer FortyKa universe with new episodes releasing every Monday at seven p.m. [SPEAKER_01]: Eastern Time. [SPEAKER_01]: Before we begin, we also always ask everyone to follow and comment on the cast. [SPEAKER_01]: So the only way that we're going to meet new listeners is via word of mouth and the stream platforms promoting us and the best way to have that happen is for your comments to bump us up in the algorithm. [SPEAKER_01]: So for those of you who are leaving comments, thank you. [SPEAKER_01]: I do read them. [SPEAKER_01]: They are quite funny. [SPEAKER_01]: Seriously appreciate. [SPEAKER_01]: Additionally, in the show notes isn't about, you can see the link to our website, the FortyKlorcast.com, along with our Discord and our Patreon. [SPEAKER_01]: Our website is growing into space so we now have more information on the cast, Brad's coaching services, merchandise, and even upcoming events that we are hosting. [SPEAKER_01]: The Discord we also bring up to because it's an online community that we established with the cast in mind. [SPEAKER_01]: The goal is to make a place that we can interact with our listeners, but more importantly, our listeners can interact with each other. [SPEAKER_01]: Right now, at time of recording, we're close to six thousand members. [SPEAKER_01]: find, if you're listening to this in the future and you can't find our discord, it's okay, right? [SPEAKER_01]: No, I believe you. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying that if in the future someone tries to find the discord and they can't find it because I burned it to the ground. [SPEAKER_01]: It's my own real weird about this too. [SPEAKER_01]: It is eight. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I, okay, so I do want to call out Kevin, Nick, Maisie, Brian, Ethan, Steve, Ryan, Trevor, and David for moderating the discord. [SPEAKER_01]: If it wasn't for you, I would have exterminated us this thing so long ago because [SPEAKER_01]: Six thousand people on the internet speaking to each other is not always a recipe for people being fine. [SPEAKER_01]: That's it. [SPEAKER_03]: I've never seen the internet the anything, but informative correct. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And nice. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, a very, very polite. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what it is. [SPEAKER_01]: So thanks to our moderators. [SPEAKER_01]: It actually is it's functioning discord and [SPEAKER_01]: I recommend anyone to come join it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's built a really healthy community there, but if they ever all decide they want to moderate it anymore, it will probably cease to exist pretty quickly. [SPEAKER_01]: It's only a couple of clicks. [SPEAKER_01]: Lastly, for those of you who play the game, Brad is a coach at Forty Kay with thirty one years now of playing the game. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm the playing for several years. [SPEAKER_01]: So I think it's at thirty one years and close to ten years of coaching. [SPEAKER_01]: Brad's really a wonderful resource for anyone trying to improve their experience in the tabletop. [SPEAKER_01]: If you want to know more about it, you can go to our website, the Forty Kay lorecast.com or our discord and contact and directly about his services. [SPEAKER_01]: With that, onto the cast. [SPEAKER_01]: It's content. [SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: So, Harlequins, Harlequins are outside looking in the dumbest, maybe the dumbest thing in the entire reign. [SPEAKER_01]: I think you might say the most awesome thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, just the aesthetically looking at it, you're like, so there's a bunch of random clowns you can play. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, let's put it with you look like before we get to what they look like. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: They look like clowns. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, like actual acrobat outfins. [SPEAKER_03]: They look like carnival. [SPEAKER_01]: But not everyone goes as hard the paint. [SPEAKER_01]: So I will be kind. [SPEAKER_01]: I painted I painted ninety percent of what I own, which is a lot of forty-gay. [SPEAKER_01]: I have painted zero minute zero seconds and zero milliseconds of my Harley Quinn's. [SPEAKER_01]: They are all custom. [SPEAKER_01]: They're all commissioned painted because they have a beautiful checker pattern on them and there's no scenario I could do that. [SPEAKER_03]: Also, did you get the elder face for their bikes for a troll? [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_03]: That's forever ago. [SPEAKER_01]: That might be twenty years ago. [SPEAKER_01]: That was, yeah, that's no one. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: It's going to be no one. [SPEAKER_03]: I know people that have that. [SPEAKER_01]: Because you know people who've been playing the game for thirty-one. [SPEAKER_01]: I know that's their old man. [SPEAKER_01]: There's other old people called him. [SPEAKER_01]: When I was younger, we have electricity. [SPEAKER_01]: We had to play games by candlelight. [SPEAKER_01]: We had a car of our own D-sixes that I've wooded. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we played a sci-fi game because, you know, a future future. [SPEAKER_01]: So the Harley Quinn's look kind of odd. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll be honest. [SPEAKER_01]: First time I saw them, I was like, what the hell is this? [SPEAKER_01]: And then you start learning about them and they're the most awesome, I think they're the most awesome thing in the entire game. [SPEAKER_03]: They also put out plays. [SPEAKER_01]: That's a real thing they do. [SPEAKER_01]: But we're going to get to that. [SPEAKER_03]: So let's have a look at it. [SPEAKER_03]: But I'm saying, you have to set the stage for why do they keep one of the same clowns because they are fully dressed in. [SPEAKER_01]: They are dressed as clowns that they're posed as clowns. [SPEAKER_01]: Those are the clowns we're talking. [SPEAKER_01]: Like Cirque de Soleil. [SPEAKER_03]: Cirque de Soleil. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: They look like carnival acrobatists. [SPEAKER_03]: They look like [SPEAKER_01]: There are really mysterious parts of the Eldar race, because they've lived forever entirely within the Webway in a pocket that no one can get access to unless guided there by the Harlequids. [SPEAKER_03]: And there are masters of sent Webway. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, there's no one knows the Webway better than the Harlequids. [SPEAKER_01]: The difference is, while part of the Eldar race, the motives and actions of the Harley Quinn's are actually a mystery, even to the most knowledgeable Eldar. [SPEAKER_03]: Put them at odds a lot of times, too. [SPEAKER_01]: Right, because the Harley Quinn's, like, they'll never align themselves with the enemies of the Eldar, like, like, chaos, but their actions will often times put Eldar or Jukari at risk, and even to death from, you know, said demons, but they would never, but never, there's always a reason behind it. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: And in a lot of times, the Harley Quinn's, the rest of the craft world's will talk it out of it. [SPEAKER_03]: You say why two other elders. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Why they did what they did. [SPEAKER_03]: The Harley Quinn's will just smoke bomb and leave and you're like, what the shit man. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Why did we, we just lost half our forces. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And the Harley Quinn's litter just are there's not there to respond. [SPEAKER_01]: Yep. [SPEAKER_01]: Very fun. [SPEAKER_01]: From the standpoint of the imperium, the Harley Quinn's are maybe the most concerning of the Eldar, and this is because their motivations are completely unknown to the imperium. [SPEAKER_01]: Their place of origin can never be assaulted, and the Harley Quinn's ability to travel within the web way has created some security concerns. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's not like they just showed up unannounced at the palace. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, on terror on terror and it fought their way basically to the doors of the golden throne and then went and then legit. [SPEAKER_03]: It's less forest gumped it. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm kind of tired now. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm just going to go home. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: That's that. [SPEAKER_03]: And again, it told no one why they were there. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: The custodians just all of a sudden started wrecked by a weird L.D.R. [SPEAKER_01]: clown. [SPEAKER_01]: It was one guy. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: This out there. [SPEAKER_01]: And then they brought all the custod forces to go deal a salt there. [SPEAKER_01]: And the salt there went, all right, that was fun. [SPEAKER_01]: And his left. [SPEAKER_01]: No, no information. [SPEAKER_01]: No one has any idea why. [SPEAKER_03]: So just what they were doing? [SPEAKER_03]: Did they take anything? [SPEAKER_03]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Do they get anything strategically for that they needed? [SPEAKER_03]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: We don't think so. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: We have no idea that's, and that's what makes the hard liquid. [SPEAKER_01]: So I like, yeah, the Harley Quinn's, the Imperium is not a huge fan of the Harley Quinn's in general. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think if any Zenos, but the Harley Quinn's are the one where like the Drew Curry, it's like, hey, we should wipe them out for the Harley Quinn's are the [SPEAKER_01]: What the WTF are they here? [SPEAKER_01]: Someone figures something out about them. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, God, panic, panic, panic. [SPEAKER_01]: But even even within the elder, the Harley Quinn's are met with concern because we were just saying, saying, they will go from your ally to your enemy out of nowhere. [SPEAKER_01]: Not necessarily in the same battle, they have done that a few times, but it's primarily where you as like Sam Hane are fighting somewhere, and the Harley Quinn's will come out of nowhere, no one else in part of the way, just appear, fight by your side and help you win, and then fast forward like two or three years, cause you know, that's a short period of time to an elder, Sam Hane are fighting else, and they're fighting against the, that the same Harley Quinn's that they just seen. [SPEAKER_03]: And that's the hell. [SPEAKER_03]: Only killer parsed portion of your force and leave, you know, like, I leave a note just to happen. [SPEAKER_01]: Why? [SPEAKER_01]: Now, one thing I will say with the sad face is Brad and I both do agree on this, that the tabletop to lower hard-liquins are the furthest apart. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's good. [SPEAKER_03]: It's very close with custodians, but it's not. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's [SPEAKER_01]: As a guard player, I should take twenty craigsman, run them at a single custodian. [SPEAKER_01]: The custodian should kill all of those craigsman with the, with the, with the craigsman. [SPEAKER_01]: Like he picks up the first guy. [SPEAKER_01]: He picks up the first guy that beats to death the next nineteen with that first guy. [SPEAKER_01]: That's fine. [SPEAKER_01]: And then they don't do it. [SPEAKER_01]: Harlequens do that to the custodian. [SPEAKER_01]: The Harlequen attacks the custodian. [SPEAKER_01]: The girl never lands a hit and just gets stabbed to death while the Harlequen talks shit. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, because certain things, and we'll talk about it a little bit later, but things like their flip belts, things like the fact that they can just faze in and out reality, effectively. [SPEAKER_03]: It works on the board, but also, there's so many stories of them killing the most heavily armored opponent because they just went, hey man, I love my knife inside you. [SPEAKER_03]: Goodbye. [SPEAKER_01]: We'll do more of this later, but like for example, the death gesture has the accuracy of Deadpool. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the best way to explain it. [SPEAKER_01]: And on the table top, no, like there's a, well, that was some fun story with these guys later. [SPEAKER_01]: Bye, bye. [SPEAKER_01]: It is what it is. [SPEAKER_01]: They also, as we said before, do represent the most difficult paint job I think in the entire game. [SPEAKER_03]: It looks so cool though. [SPEAKER_01]: That's why it was difficult because the difference is like, I don't have great vision. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm in my forties, I have to wear reading glasses, all that stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: My armies look fine. [SPEAKER_01]: Parliquins, the problem with harliquins, you can't get away with fine. [SPEAKER_01]: People notice when it's just fine. [SPEAKER_01]: They're like, oh, you're playing competitively. [SPEAKER_01]: So you painted these guys quickly. [SPEAKER_03]: There's a big deal. [SPEAKER_03]: I painted up the orgs. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And then I was about to start with the elder and one of my buddies went, whoa, whoa, whoa. [SPEAKER_03]: Now what do you mean? [SPEAKER_03]: He's like, you can paint orgs as orgs. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: You can't be painting Harley Quinn's an elder as orgs. [SPEAKER_03]: As orgs. [SPEAKER_03]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: It's the same with like deathguards a great one for that because deathguards can be a little bit sloppy. [SPEAKER_01]: They're allowed to be, but like thousands of sons can't. [SPEAKER_03]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: So, anyway, blessed dive into the history of the Harley Quinn. [SPEAKER_01]: So, the Harley Quinn's are a pseudo-shoed off of the craft-ruled elder. [SPEAKER_01]: Kind of like the craft-ruled elder, they fled the elder civilization before the fall. [SPEAKER_01]: But, and they did like the true car, they went into the web way, but they did this well before elder society, even had a hint of collapsing. [SPEAKER_03]: We actually don't know when... I love this part of the history. [SPEAKER_03]: It's one of the things that I don't want you to tell me why. [SPEAKER_01]: What happened? [SPEAKER_03]: Leave it in this tree. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: No, totally agree. [SPEAKER_01]: The origin of the harloquins actually is with one of the Eldar gods, Kegarak. [SPEAKER_01]: It's spelled Segarak to any American because it's a CE. [SPEAKER_01]: It's the first two letters. [SPEAKER_01]: I was born to the Segarak, and then people kept telling me, no, it's Kegarak. [SPEAKER_03]: So... Whoa, whoa, whoa, back it up. [SPEAKER_03]: I think you meant to say the laughing god? [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, there you go. [SPEAKER_03]: I will never say his name ever. [SPEAKER_03]: That's Kegarak. [SPEAKER_03]: It's laughing god. [SPEAKER_01]: So Kegarak is known as the laughing god and because he's a trickster of the gods. [SPEAKER_01]: Not like Zeech who's trying to undermine and manipulate mortals and fool them. [SPEAKER_01]: Kegarak instead kind of just laugh. [SPEAKER_01]: The line they use is Kegarak laughs the follies of others kind of letting them choose their own path and enjoying what they choose their own do. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: But he also did that with the other elder gods. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: He's basically [SPEAKER_03]: chaotic, neutral, Loki who was chaotic. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because what I liked about it is that when he relishes in, is serving as the punishment when those, when this path, the key, the, the character just shows up to laugh at you while you like fall into them. [SPEAKER_03]: Your, your decisions made in your most prideful moments. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: That's what he's doing. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he, there's nothing he loves. [SPEAKER_03]: I heard you talking all kinds of how awesome you are. [SPEAKER_03]: And now this is the only decision that is right. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm right behind you. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to follow you the whole way and I'm going to literally bring out a ten piece of orchestra to play as you as you fail and die. [SPEAKER_01]: Yep. [SPEAKER_01]: I, like, can wreck. [SPEAKER_01]: I think most of us do. [SPEAKER_03]: Mine just doesn't have ill intentions. [SPEAKER_03]: That's the whole thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: No, no. [SPEAKER_03]: Is he a dick sometimes? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he's a wild trickster. [SPEAKER_01]: But again, when we say trickster, I want to make it clear to people. [SPEAKER_01]: He's not a trickster like Zinch. [SPEAKER_01]: Zinch is actively trying to deceive. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: I would say he's a trickster. [SPEAKER_03]: God, he's not, but, and I'm when I say Loki, I don't mean Loki from [SPEAKER_03]: the Avengers and stuff. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, Loki from the actual mythology, he was kind of a bad dude, a trickster, more than kind of, but yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he doesn't. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm saying, but he's more just straight up a trickster of I just want weird stuff to happen. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I think if my viewpoint on Kegarek is more that he effectively has infinite pre-cock. [SPEAKER_01]: He can see forever and just shoot, but doesn't, and because he knows the future, he's there, kind of like, it's like when you watch a movie for the second time, that's what Kegarek is doing to the entire galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, there's a really good part coming up. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's super excited where someone's about to get their come up and after talking, [SPEAKER_01]: He's not, he's not lured people in the neighborhood. [SPEAKER_01]: He's just watching. [SPEAKER_01]: He just watches it and does. [SPEAKER_01]: And although the question on Kegarek is, does he get involved? [SPEAKER_01]: And this is why he's so important in modern law, because he may serve as the greatest chance for the material to defeat the material. [SPEAKER_01]: We'll get more on that later. [SPEAKER_01]: More importantly, Kegarak was believed to be the only elder god to survive the fall in birth of Sloan Ash. [SPEAKER_01]: We now know that Isha is in Nurgos Garden. [SPEAKER_01]: Cain has been shattered and do a bunch of shards, but still pseudo exists because the art arts can resurrect them. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you can bring him back as an a piece of him in the avalanche. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he's he's every. [SPEAKER_01]: He's just his shatter. [SPEAKER_01]: He's shattered, really. [SPEAKER_01]: And now we have, you need the god of death. [SPEAKER_01]: We got it, which is very important for some stuff coming up with. [SPEAKER_03]: I love this with the inner. [SPEAKER_03]: with the ultimate trick. [SPEAKER_03]: You remember, slenish came and did all this destroy the elder civilization. [SPEAKER_03]: The laughing god talked shit. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Just slenish from the web way knowing she couldn't get there. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: And she was like, I think it's hilarious. [SPEAKER_03]: You're like, yeah, you ruined everything, but also you kind of suck at everything. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And slenish was like, I just dominated your civilization. [SPEAKER_03]: It's like good to hear. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to trash your stuff anytime I can. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, whenever I whenever I want to I'm going to pop out of a gate you can't see or access and jack up your stuff and then go back through said gate. [SPEAKER_01]: Good luck with that. [SPEAKER_01]: Have a nice day. [SPEAKER_01]: Bye. [SPEAKER_01]: And so with the birth of Sloan Ashk, Kegraak, we said, hit with that though, let's spend a bit more time on the actual Harley Quinnism selves and their function and held our society. [SPEAKER_03]: Here's the bent, my favorite part about one of my favorite. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to say this fifteen times. [SPEAKER_03]: It's going to be worse. [SPEAKER_03]: I want everybody to know this will be worse than what I say literally, which is every time every episode. [SPEAKER_03]: But I'm going to say my favorite part because there's multiple things that I'm going to get it really excited about because I'm going to excited about whatever I can see at that moment. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: But the Harlem twins have [SPEAKER_03]: Always been, maybe not always been with Eldar. [SPEAKER_01]: We don't know when, but effectively forever. [SPEAKER_03]: But they're the skulls and the poets and everything. [SPEAKER_03]: They keep a history of the greatest achievements and the greatest falls. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, the elders. [SPEAKER_01]: Let me, yeah, let me kind of dive a bit more into their function because it is, it took me a while to actually grasp this as someone who is reading about them years ago, is that the Eldar [SPEAKER_01]: are poets, historians, they have incredible amounts of knowledge, but they also the way that they perceive the world as different. [SPEAKER_01]: They need to be able to tell the stories and the lore of their being. [SPEAKER_01]: And they can't do it with just writing it down and reading it. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's what the Hogwarts, the Hogwarts put on a performance. [SPEAKER_03]: But it's a performance, a psychic performance. [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: It goes in everywhere. [SPEAKER_03]: Is it, again, we have to touch on this asmich. [SPEAKER_03]: Remember that we talked about this forever ago. [SPEAKER_03]: Eldar feel everything tend to, twenty times more than a human does in everything. [SPEAKER_01]: And they feel it in different ways too. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's, and that's what the Harlequin's purpose, at least pre-fall, was to take all the knowledge of the Eldar. [SPEAKER_01]: express it in a form that would effectively drop an elder. [SPEAKER_01]: When I say drop what it means, when the hard ones perform, the elder stop functioning. [SPEAKER_01]: They just stare at this. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they can't even go in. [SPEAKER_01]: Because it just hits all their senses. [SPEAKER_03]: It's happening in every sense on the psychic plane. [SPEAKER_03]: It happens. [SPEAKER_03]: It's a psychic thing. [SPEAKER_03]: But the biggest thing is is that when the [SPEAKER_03]: Tarlequin's put on their play. [SPEAKER_03]: You feel that you are, you recreate the event. [SPEAKER_03]: Not just like you are there operating a Mac or something, but that you feel what it felt like to be at the event. [SPEAKER_03]: And that's a big deal for the other. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and so the Harley Quinn's in my mind, I can, I know where GW stole it, so it was a globe theater. [SPEAKER_01]: There's no question they stole this whole concept from the globe theater of it being traveling, because they travel around, they put on performances. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a central hub somewhere, which is the globe, but that was, that was all you, the Halloween's moved around and it all is stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: They've taken in some Cirque du Soleil, kind of, I think, more in the models, but not in the story. [SPEAKER_01]: It's more of the story, well, the Cirque du Soleil does tell a story, too. [SPEAKER_03]: But let's say, do you, do you know, [SPEAKER_03]: You don't speak bad about my Cirque de Soleil. [SPEAKER_01]: Cirque de Soleil isn't kind of mine. [SPEAKER_01]: Remember the first time it's Cirque de Soleil? [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, this is really, this is gonna be really stupid. [SPEAKER_01]: Why am I going? [SPEAKER_01]: Like, five minutes in, like, this is the most amazing they've ever seen. [SPEAKER_01]: Also, how can anyone be that jacked? [SPEAKER_03]: Also, these guys put on two shows five days a week. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: How is everyone not dead? [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I assume they're all under thirty because I think I- [SPEAKER_03]: Do it. [SPEAKER_03]: You want me to do forty seven flips every night. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, if you are if you were a circus in the performer near a discord let me know actually I genuinely believe that they take these people out like like a horse like a race horse like are you going over there? [SPEAKER_03]: I just think they're all sitting in that floating liquid pool of regeneration. [SPEAKER_01]: They're doing the boss on Google. [SPEAKER_01]: And if you haven't been to Cirque du Soleil, honestly, it is, you've got to stay here. [SPEAKER_01]: You've got to stay here. [SPEAKER_01]: You've got to stay here. [SPEAKER_01]: You've got to stay here. [SPEAKER_01]: You've got to stay here. [SPEAKER_01]: You've got to stay here. [SPEAKER_01]: You've got to stay here. [SPEAKER_01]: You've got to stay here. [SPEAKER_01]: You've got to stay here. [SPEAKER_03]: They used to be so much better about this in the game. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't. [SPEAKER_03]: The different measurement mean a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, this is where the term mask also gets used to made up because the performance is called a mask. [SPEAKER_01]: But even the troops are part of a mask. [SPEAKER_03]: But anyone's a different. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they are. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's right. [SPEAKER_01]: That's how the geezer forgot about that. [SPEAKER_01]: You're right. [SPEAKER_01]: It's the right. [SPEAKER_01]: Each of them, I totally, for at each of the masks, only puts on a specific play. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: That's such a big deal in that in these plays are amazing. [SPEAKER_03]: Also, if you're Eldar, currently, you kind of don't want to see the Harley Quinn's plays because most times Harley Quinn show up, something's about to go down. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and the Lord, they are some pretty heavy plot armor. [SPEAKER_01]: The pretty big plot foreshadow. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, oh, the Harley Quinn's over here. [SPEAKER_03]: They're like, oh, this is going to be an awesome show. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, waiting for it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, are we going to get invaded tomorrow? [SPEAKER_03]: Son of a bitch. [SPEAKER_01]: Cool thing about the masks that when they perform them is that it's a full performance. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not someone coming out and giving an oratory speech. [SPEAKER_01]: So the hard ones they do speak, but they only speak in clear terms. [SPEAKER_01]: When they perform, it's the audience's job to interpret the truth behind the displays. [SPEAKER_01]: And if you're basically everybody's, you can't follow up what we're doing. [SPEAKER_01]: You're too stupid to be an elder or. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And they put you in an emotional state specifically. [SPEAKER_03]: So you, they just, you have to understand that. [SPEAKER_03]: This is one of the things that the harloquins are so well respected by everybody, including the farceus, who are effectively the guides. [SPEAKER_01]: Even the jukari have a thing for the harloquins. [SPEAKER_01]: But it's like the jukari. [SPEAKER_01]: Hamanculi will go and watch a harloquin. [SPEAKER_01]: Also, nobody messes with our eloquence when they come and put on their play. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you, you're auto dead. [SPEAKER_01]: You do that every one. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, everyone would tell you because both for two reasons. [SPEAKER_01]: We'll get them more. [SPEAKER_01]: But they'll get two reasons. [SPEAKER_01]: One, how dare you, but also two, we really don't want angry are eloquence showing up here because they're not very forgiving. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was saying, they'll use surgical precision when they won't be sounded down people for [SPEAKER_01]: ever. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: One fun thing about the Harley Quinn Zosu who is discussing with the plays is that as the elder we're going towards the fall, Harley Quinn's were more and more present on the world's performing the and it was just one mask over and over again showing the fall and birth of slenish. [SPEAKER_01]: They were telegraphing this to everybody. [SPEAKER_03]: They just told everybody this is going to happen and everybody went cool play. [SPEAKER_03]: I've learned nothing and you know like how how it's literally we wrote it. [SPEAKER_01]: to appeal to all of your senses. [SPEAKER_01]: And like, you did, but I'm gonna go back to my murder cult over here because it's just super fun. [SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, the vast majority of the Eldar didn't follow the Holocaust warnings. [SPEAKER_01]: Although the exudites actually were the first ones to watch it and go, oh, let's get the hell out of here. [SPEAKER_01]: They did that way before everybody else did. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it was, I think at which Codex I was reading, they pointed the Harlem ones to being one of the reasons for it. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, a hundred percent. [SPEAKER_03]: The, the exudites originally went, yeah, they just told them if this is gonna happen. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm leaving and leaving now before it happens and everyone else is like, yeah, give it a minute. [SPEAKER_03]: It's in the craft rules, but the craft rules were like, hey, we should build giant planet ships. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's going to take more than a couple minutes to do this, but we'll get them done. [SPEAKER_01]: Interestingly, though, post fall, the masks have turned now. [SPEAKER_01]: They still do tell some stories, but a lot of it's now forwarding. [SPEAKER_01]: And the engine thing about that is they will do these dances, not just for Eldar, they now are doing them for the Imperium. [SPEAKER_01]: And other races, not works, not territory. [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_03]: But it's funny though, because they've actually had problems with this, because [SPEAKER_03]: if I do a, if you do an awesome play for John and I and neither one of us are psychers. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, we just missed a third. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we said we talked about the elder cast of the elder get annoyed meeting with the Imperium because they shook the Imperium and they had to tell them a bunch of really complex information and they do it in about eleven seconds and the Imperium just stairs back at them and goes, I didn't catch a single word you just said. [SPEAKER_01]: four and a half hours later, the old R is breaking Fuego and has has has finished, but they did in eleven seconds and are super angry about it. [SPEAKER_01]: The pyramid goes, all right, let's go do something about this. [SPEAKER_01]: The Harley Quinn's are the same thing with what their plays were like, check this out, pageantry, magic. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's a lady Gaga show all this stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: And the appearing goes, [SPEAKER_01]: I like that that guy's backflip. [SPEAKER_01]: It was a good backflip. [SPEAKER_03]: That's all you got. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that backflip was all in pending. [SPEAKER_03]: No one's a slaker here. [SPEAKER_03]: Why are you guys? [SPEAKER_03]: Why are you? [SPEAKER_03]: Monkai. [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, there's someone on the side doing the sign language thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, I can catch up. [SPEAKER_01]: That would be better. [SPEAKER_01]: That is, by the way, what the hell they're called? [SPEAKER_01]: Humans. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I know. [SPEAKER_01]: They would need the Monkai. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because of monkey. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It's monkey. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's really a stupid thing. [SPEAKER_01]: I know. [SPEAKER_01]: But it's a stupid thing. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a stupid. [SPEAKER_01]: I know. [SPEAKER_01]: They couldn't drop it. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's like, oh, they still do this thing. [SPEAKER_03]: But I like this point. [SPEAKER_03]: I'll point a bit. [SPEAKER_03]: I love the fact that as usual, besides my wild hand gestures that I make all the time and I get up, I get up quickly, frequently. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm also reading our notes as we go. [SPEAKER_03]: And I like to point out things that not only you definitely can't see, but make no sense to bother talking about. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: But John's got a good note here. [SPEAKER_03]: And he says the Harley Quinn's are chaotic good for all you D&D guys. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I couldn't agree more the ultimate there that maybe the best definition of chaotic good I've ever seen because their methods are not the best and they do not care how many people have to die for the die for their cause so long as they destroy chaos so if you don't or someone going it's because they have they have a value of peace and no matter how many people they have to kill together [SPEAKER_01]: Look at that reference. [SPEAKER_01]: Seriously, peacemaker is a great show. [SPEAKER_01]: And suicide squad two, two, not one. [SPEAKER_03]: One was awesome garbage with the best, the best suicide one, best trailer ever. [SPEAKER_01]: Terrible. [SPEAKER_01]: Terrible. [SPEAKER_01]: But suicide squad two, terrible trailers, because everyone's like the first one was horrible, not watching a second one. [SPEAKER_01]: And then you go watch second one. [SPEAKER_01]: And it is absolutely borderline perfection. [SPEAKER_00]: We'll be right back after a quick break. [SPEAKER_01]: So, Harley Quinn's Society, the Harley Quinn's are probably the most enigmatic. [SPEAKER_01]: Probably, just R. That's the most enigmatic. [SPEAKER_03]: No, let me edit this real quick. [SPEAKER_03]: Probably, cut. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, or the most, I think, of all the major players of the forties universe. [SPEAKER_01]: It's because their true logistics function, purpose, and galaxy is known only to them. [SPEAKER_01]: We know what they're trying to achieve, but not even fully. [SPEAKER_01]: We think we know what they're trying to achieve. [SPEAKER_03]: Because to be fair, I kind of think the laughing god wants to talk shit more than he wants to do anything. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he wants to, he wants to win, but also he wants to, [SPEAKER_01]: The harloquins are definitely going to is their plan destroy chaos full stop that is going to happen. [SPEAKER_01]: The problem is that we don't know if that includes taking blowing up the entire galaxy in the process and just hiding in the web. [SPEAKER_01]: or maybe also taking away, I mean, that's the thing, they may be taking everyone with them, because we're gonna, we'll get to, you know, you know, already later, but there is a viewpoint that maybe, all right, what if we just burn the whole galaxy down, we still just defeat chaos, and from a moral standpoint, that's our real goal. [SPEAKER_01]: So, that's why Harley Quinn's a little bit dicey. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about where they live. [SPEAKER_01]: So, that Harley Quinn's, as we said before, live inside the webway, and if you who are such who's in the boxed, and if you who listen to our jukari cast, know that they all live in the webway. [SPEAKER_01]: So, they must be neighbors. [SPEAKER_01]: And now, no, it's a web way is almost like the in material, and that it's not a real space. [SPEAKER_01]: So the jukari have kamara and some of the other pieces in it, it's more industrialized. [SPEAKER_01]: They are building things out. [SPEAKER_01]: There is an actual location. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyone who wants to go to kamara who can access the web way, keep, keep, keep being there. [SPEAKER_01]: Can access kamara. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a hard look Wednesday. [SPEAKER_03]: It's some people have gone there and went, oh no. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, most people are most people have camera access them. [SPEAKER_01]: If we're being honest, it's not a great situation, but you can get to camera if you can enter the web way. [SPEAKER_01]: Entering the webway and then getting where the harloquins are is not possible. [SPEAKER_01]: The harloquins no one actually even knows where the harloquins are in the webway. [SPEAKER_01]: We know which the black library later. [SPEAKER_01]: We know that that's there, but that's about it. [SPEAKER_01]: We have no idea and it's not gonna be a book how and where the harloquins survive. [SPEAKER_01]: So the webway itself just a quick little side note there. [SPEAKER_01]: The old ones made it as a way to traverse the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: The key part of the harloquins being in the webway is their ability to traverse the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: literally in an instant. [SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of people get this. [SPEAKER_01]: I think people get along with it. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not like traveling the material. [SPEAKER_03]: And it's not as tiniest because there is physical distance in the web way. [SPEAKER_01]: Not in reality. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the thing. [SPEAKER_01]: It's the thing is there is distance in the web way, but there are numerous with the Harlem ones. [SPEAKER_01]: They appear in instant. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it will. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the thing. [SPEAKER_01]: If you're across the galaxy. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, but there's still some distance. [SPEAKER_03]: Could we talk about it when we first talked about the other? [SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's because that's more than that's new. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the thing. [SPEAKER_01]: I had the same thought and went and looked back into it. [SPEAKER_01]: The current Eldar method of using the web way is they have to go into an into known web way gates and they have to go through them and they actually will also have to pass into the material. [SPEAKER_01]: And go to another day and walk, that's why it takes time. [SPEAKER_01]: The old way of the web way, it was instantaneously. [SPEAKER_03]: Because they went to point, they went to gate to gate. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was they know always. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: What's happening is post the fall of slenesh. [SPEAKER_01]: It's collapsed except for the Harley Quinn. [SPEAKER_03]: They also travel because they make the bridge. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: And so this is one thing people get wrong. [SPEAKER_01]: I found a lot in just conversations is that the web way, [SPEAKER_01]: versus the warp travel. [SPEAKER_01]: And so what we talk about the webways massively faster than, you know, and more convenient than warp travel. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, it's also, you're not getting killed. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, so the big thing is, it's matter, it's how you, you understand them. [SPEAKER_01]: So the warp is this ever moving ever changing. [SPEAKER_01]: And so what happens is when you go into the warp, you're going into another dimension effectively, and you're still having navigate through that. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a shorter distance, but it's still as a distance. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but also the laws of time, space and physics don't matter. [SPEAKER_01]: But they still do to a point. [SPEAKER_01]: And the example I use is if you read the Eisenhower novels, he talks about doing warp travel. [SPEAKER_01]: It's taking months or weeks to get somewhere versus web way travel, which would be, is a [SPEAKER_03]: And you still have, I'm saying, the web way you could lose time. [SPEAKER_03]: Remember, we talked about that. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And we were talking about the original, the seats and parents. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: People just showing up a year after they were supposed to be. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: And so, and this is stuff all, the web way is dead and it's reliable. [SPEAKER_01]: And the problem is also with the more, honestly, this is before even discuss the problems of like you have to have Geller fields, or else the warp will eat you. [SPEAKER_01]: you know, forging a path because stuff just moves within the web way. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, something just moves within the warp. [SPEAKER_01]: So you might be traveling a path in all of a sudden, oopsies, chaos demons. [SPEAKER_01]: The thing, because we don't talk when we should, we should do a cast on warp travel at some point, but a lot of ships just disappear in warp travel. [SPEAKER_01]: That just, that just happens. [SPEAKER_01]: It's part of the deal. [SPEAKER_01]: Cough, cough, Thai, try to use it. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's, that's, that's the, that's the towel's fault. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's just, that's just the towel's fall. [SPEAKER_03]: I just handed throwing out that because there was no one on the one on the hundred. [SPEAKER_01]: We were going to touch on towel. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm going to, and I'm going to mock the towel. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not, maybe it's in the towel's fault, but they tried to do warp travel with no psychers. [SPEAKER_03]: There was, there was never, there was no psychers and not knowing about killer fields. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's like there's, everything about this, and my issue with it, they're, they're super technologically advanced. [SPEAKER_01]: Whatever, the more part was, there are humans who are part of towel. [SPEAKER_01]: You didn't ask a single one of them. [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, when you guys get here through the warp trial, what do you do? [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you build a big ship. [SPEAKER_01]: Got it. [SPEAKER_01]: Build big ship. [SPEAKER_01]: Thanks. [SPEAKER_01]: Have a nice day. [SPEAKER_03]: And when we build big ship. [SPEAKER_03]: I really, really want that towel fleet to eventually show back up and just go, I don't want to talk about it. [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, you guys, okay. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not talking about it. [SPEAKER_01]: Where were you shut up? [SPEAKER_01]: Never. [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: But I'm never leaving our home planet ever again. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, trying so far and I'm only leaving on. [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: The seventh sphere of expansions actually goes the other direction. [SPEAKER_01]: It's the old map that there be monsters here. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, no, don't leave this place. [SPEAKER_01]: We're staying here. [SPEAKER_01]: The biggest piece of the webway versus warp travel is [SPEAKER_01]: It's a mapped route. [SPEAKER_01]: So the, while we talk about, you know, the Harley Quinn, so that the Harlemans have a full map of the entire webway with every single exit, every single thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Whereas the warp, you don't, you work in your beak. [SPEAKER_01]: You have to have something that you're following. [SPEAKER_01]: So you're going to learn landmarks in the warp by the way. [SPEAKER_03]: Because they're moving. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And they're also all bad. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm going to mark that down. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah, that seems great. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so today's journey this week's journey is going to take us just past Nurgles garden. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think we're going to get past that. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll be honest, I think we're going to go near it. [SPEAKER_03]: It's going to be bad news, but it's like going through just a turbulent ocean where you're like, hey, I mapped the sand on the bottom. [SPEAKER_03]: You're like, that is definitely not going to be what's there anymore. [SPEAKER_01]: So the web way allows them to get people places in instant. [SPEAKER_01]: I should also call out though, Necrons do have their own goofy technology that was kind of does this. [SPEAKER_03]: They face ship, but they do the wormhole kill. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's hard to gauge. [SPEAKER_01]: I do want to throw something out. [SPEAKER_01]: The Necron players are, I don't know what them losing their minds are. [SPEAKER_01]: What about Necrons? [SPEAKER_01]: You're right. [SPEAKER_01]: Necrons have like their phase shift technology, which does allow them to jump distances, but they have to actually, it's the same as web way that they pre-marked. [SPEAKER_01]: They have, they can't just randomly. [SPEAKER_01]: Then they can do short jumps, they can just, they can guess, but that's about it. [SPEAKER_01]: But the webways much more involved because the webway also goes a lot further. [SPEAKER_01]: And as we said earlier, apparently it's a webway entrance in the golden throne outside of the one that the Emperor tried to build. [SPEAKER_01]: So he did try to build his own webway in the basement. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: She didn't go great. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, but he was correct to want to do it because it wasn't even the chaos element. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just it's the speed. [SPEAKER_01]: If he could have figured, I don't know, a webway because his bad plan. [SPEAKER_01]: He is, but my point is I also look at Magnus as well. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, totally Microsoft's fault. [SPEAKER_01]: But my viewpoint on the Emperor's trying to do, it wasn't just, hey, I don't want to deal with chaos. [SPEAKER_01]: It's the same with the old ones. [SPEAKER_01]: The old ones in my mind didn't build the web way because they were worried about chaos because there was no chaos. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, there wasn't exactly that. [SPEAKER_01]: They did it because it was the, it was a better system. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, a hundred percent. [SPEAKER_03]: It was so much faster. [SPEAKER_03]: There wasn't, it's still even when the, the warp, the humanitarian, [SPEAKER_03]: was old one style, which was a endless serene plane. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: It was still an endless plane of ever change. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, and this is where it's a kind of a cool thing about this is to the Eldar civilization, you know, obviously old ones built it as it grew, they built more web ways. [SPEAKER_01]: So the Eldar as their civilization, just expand expand, but web ways everywhere. [SPEAKER_01]: What's interesting about that is that that's the only method of travel they have. [SPEAKER_01]: They have faster than light drives. [SPEAKER_01]: Barely. [SPEAKER_01]: That's about it. [SPEAKER_01]: So the Eldar and the Tao have about the same vehicle speed. [SPEAKER_03]: That is the funny thing on that because the Eldar never bothered because why? [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Why would you make a better engine when I could be anywhere instant. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's like why would I make a worse sentence? [SPEAKER_01]: A better way to change that. [SPEAKER_01]: Is it like so I could go anywhere instantaneously? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but we really want to cherish the journey. [SPEAKER_03]: That's good. [SPEAKER_03]: Have I hit the best, please? [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Good to my wife, Heather. [SPEAKER_01]: You're going on vacation in England. [SPEAKER_01]: Cool. [SPEAKER_01]: Are we going to fly? [SPEAKER_01]: Nope, sailboat. [SPEAKER_01]: Why? [SPEAKER_01]: Just want to have really not like you after four or five days feels like it feels like a really good decision. [SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, at the moment of the fall though, when Slenex was born, the elder had to shut down a lot of the webways because she was, she did get access to some webways. [SPEAKER_03]: the sun. [SPEAKER_03]: And that's like saying, we closed a couple streets down. [SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no. [SPEAKER_03]: We closed ninety percent of the highways, basically. [SPEAKER_01]: We at every web way gate in what is now the eye of terror. [SPEAKER_01]: That one's close. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Those are already. [SPEAKER_01]: Those are hard done. [SPEAKER_03]: And that's, that's where most of the, the eye of terror is where held our lid. [SPEAKER_03]: That was the, held our civilization. [SPEAKER_01]: It was the eye of the elder. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, definitely less that was the, you're like, hey, where were all the other and then they went magic trick. [SPEAKER_03]: They're not there anymore. [SPEAKER_03]: They there was a whole bunch of elder than there wasn't, but also that was the hub of all of their travel and then they [SPEAKER_03]: kind of did what they shouldn't should have done. [SPEAKER_03]: They panicked and they started shutting down and then we're talking about shutting down the web way. [SPEAKER_03]: We weren't just Dale and some boards on an entrance. [SPEAKER_03]: They were collapsing portions of the web way, which I don't even know how you do that because web way is [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they've never made it clear. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: So the weather is also alive. [SPEAKER_01]: And so what happens is, as we talk about section the Drucari cast, in Kamara asked, as durable, I can't process last, is named as river. [SPEAKER_01]: As durable, that as durable, as durable, that has been [SPEAKER_01]: actually opening some of these web ways within within the dark realm to expand out and help the the jukari actually get a larger section. [SPEAKER_01]: Even the the craft rolled out are they're uncovering old webway gates and react to be all the time. [SPEAKER_01]: Fun story on that. [SPEAKER_01]: The hard-liquins still have full access to every single webway gate. [SPEAKER_01]: So even though they are turned off, they're not all the way turned up except the ones obviously now you have to. [SPEAKER_01]: Those ones, those are, those are hard gone. [SPEAKER_03]: Ready for Brad Theory of the Week? [SPEAKER_03]: I think that there's wildly more space in the web way created by the old ones. [SPEAKER_03]: That wasn't used. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: They just didn't really know about it. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Because they were also the disciples of the old ones. [SPEAKER_03]: They knew what they like. [SPEAKER_01]: I think, yeah, the way I look at that is I think that I think that the Milky Way galaxy is a finite space. [SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, the universe is ever expanding. [SPEAKER_01]: I also think the imitarium is a finite space in that regard with imitarium to me. [SPEAKER_01]: It's called the upside down. [SPEAKER_01]: It's got two matches. [SPEAKER_01]: True. [SPEAKER_03]: And matches the universe. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't think I don't think that the universe is ever growing in the galaxy as it's minus. [SPEAKER_01]: Where is the web way actually is infinite? [SPEAKER_03]: I think that's the thing is is that the dark elder just found [SPEAKER_01]: They're almost an infinite amount of things. [SPEAKER_01]: They put two sons in there just because they could. [SPEAKER_01]: Right, I'm saying. [SPEAKER_03]: They just found all this extra space in the web way. [SPEAKER_01]: That Joey Chestnut's stomach. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know how he does that either. [SPEAKER_03]: He weighs a hundred and ten. [SPEAKER_03]: But also, just go ahead and look at him. [SPEAKER_03]: If you have to know anywhere, do you just Google that? [SPEAKER_03]: You'll figure it out. [SPEAKER_01]: He's competitive eater. [SPEAKER_01]: He's competitive eater, which is just, yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: I think that the web way, [SPEAKER_03]: is semi like AI sentient though, because I think it grows when you need it to grow. [SPEAKER_01]: That's possible because it is, it is sentient because they talk about that when Aramon tried to attack and do it in the web way. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just closing itself. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just feeding him and his troops. [SPEAKER_03]: They just kept going, nope, this is not closed. [SPEAKER_03]: This road doesn't exist anymore, but it also opened when the dark elder needed it. [SPEAKER_03]: They didn't know what to do. [SPEAKER_03]: But really, there's all of a sudden a new galaxy size space to put whatever we want. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you know what I mean? [SPEAKER_01]: I will say a cool thing if you guys have access to the older code access and I'm going to like, they didn't have it in there. [SPEAKER_01]: These have a map of actually, I think the code access just looks up online. [SPEAKER_01]: Who am I kidding? [SPEAKER_01]: Go online and Google it. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, sorry. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, hey, if you guys want to go spend some money or use the internet, it's free. [SPEAKER_01]: What is this Google you speak about? [SPEAKER_01]: As I'm saying, like, if you guys have a, if you can get access with older codecs, you could find a cool image or type into Google web way gate map. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, and it's cool because you can see where all the web way gates are, especially the one on Terra. [SPEAKER_01]: Oopsies. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, so back to the hard liquids. [SPEAKER_01]: for the entire instance. [SPEAKER_01]: We needed that piece because all things the Harley Quinn's do is based on their access the web way and they're kind of infinite access to the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: Because with this, [SPEAKER_01]: Well, let's dive into that actually. [SPEAKER_01]: The Harlem twins have lived within the webway, and they have truly master this. [SPEAKER_01]: And this gives them two big advantages within the Forty K universe. [SPEAKER_01]: One, their God's not dead, pretty big one, and two, the Black Library. [SPEAKER_03]: I want to throw this out here, because I read this two days ago, whatever that is, whatever you sent this to. [SPEAKER_03]: And I'm going to give you a shit about it. [SPEAKER_03]: So I haven't given you a shit about it yet. [SPEAKER_03]: One of John's notes is, the laughing God's surviving the birth of Slush. [SPEAKER_03]: It was pretty beneficial for the Holocaust, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: You think to say, when your God is still alive, you're doing pretty good. [SPEAKER_01]: It's better than all of our God's day death. [SPEAKER_01]: This is everyone else who's God is dead. [SPEAKER_03]: I just rather than went, I booed my computer screen. [SPEAKER_03]: I was like, boo. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it might have been underneath that comment. [SPEAKER_01]: I wrote understatement of the century. [SPEAKER_01]: So I really don't boo. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: The thing about Elder Gods is to recap we covered them before, is they're not as powerful as Chaos Gods, but not that far off, they're still Gods. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the thing to remember. [SPEAKER_01]: And here's how powerful they are. [SPEAKER_01]: So, slenash, as we said, eats the soul of any one of any elders. [SPEAKER_02]: This is why I've moved you. [SPEAKER_02]: Because this is such a big deal. [SPEAKER_01]: Sorry. [SPEAKER_01]: But like, what's the time it's held our, the craft world elder were a spirit stone. [SPEAKER_01]: So that when they die, the stone will absorb their spirit and the slenash can't get access to it. [SPEAKER_01]: The other way. [SPEAKER_03]: She legitimately, [SPEAKER_03]: Your issues are grows in power. [SPEAKER_03]: Every time in all their dies and it doesn't go into a spade stone, she consumes that soul. [SPEAKER_01]: And the Jew car I do it by just torturing souls, about the apparent paint. [SPEAKER_01]: With a harlequin dies, Kegarak just laughs, swoops in, grabs a soul, gives Slonesh the middle finger and bales. [SPEAKER_01]: It's backflips out. [SPEAKER_01]: It's every that smoke bomb. [SPEAKER_01]: And so our liquids are back to being immortal. [SPEAKER_01]: The thing that all Eldar want, the Harley Quinn's have. [SPEAKER_01]: They are legitimately an immortal race, which is kind of a big deal in the forty first millennia. [SPEAKER_03]: Because the old Eldar actually had full on reincarnation with memories. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: That was great. [SPEAKER_01]: Was it just about this? [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know is if the means that they're sold belongs to the laughing god. [SPEAKER_01]: Effectively, it's just, it's the interesting thing because as we said, chaotic good. [SPEAKER_01]: It's always interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: What's it with your soul is owned by chaotic good? [SPEAKER_03]: But think of the thing. [SPEAKER_03]: Think of the thing. [SPEAKER_03]: Think of the fact that while they revered, the elder revered their gods, they really didn't worship their gods in a traditional sense. [SPEAKER_03]: They honored them, but it wasn't a, I'm paying like, do to their gods. [SPEAKER_03]: No, they were like, [SPEAKER_01]: And they were real gods, very, very real gods, who had real god-like powers. [SPEAKER_01]: So the Harlequins themselves all have origins in Eldar obviously, so every Harlequin is an Eldar and they all join the Harlequits. [SPEAKER_01]: So this is, includes by what I say, Eldar. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, old Eldar. [SPEAKER_01]: So Eldar is a craft-ruled, jukari, exedites, anyone, yeah, a corsairs, any member, anyone who is a, you know, genetically an Eldar can join the hallaquins. [SPEAKER_01]: Once they join the Harlequin, they don the costume in the mask and they become effectively unidentifiable from there right out. [SPEAKER_01]: You'll never see them outside of that. [SPEAKER_03]: Which is like, oh, they're always, yeah, that's the thing is is no. [SPEAKER_03]: And they make it, yeah, it's different in some of the stories, whether or not they pull their own history out because they make references in the old, like some of the old old writings that once you become a Harlequin, your past deeds are just gone. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, not just, you know, you're new. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's that I don't. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, are they gone? [SPEAKER_01]: Like you don't have any memory of them, or are they gone? [SPEAKER_01]: We're just you have moved on from. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know because they make it sound sometimes like just everybody forgets that person was everything. [SPEAKER_01]: I think I think a harlequin's and meant to be kind of some of custodies. [SPEAKER_01]: Although custodia taken at birth, obviously, but it's that piece of there is no connection between you and where you came from. [SPEAKER_01]: which does make sense because you do have, you have Drew Carrey, exudites and craft world serving in the same mask together. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, ooh, you know, we covered death watch. [SPEAKER_03]: They all actually had at least some level of commonality that started up, but these ones are, the thing about it is what you're Harley Quinn, you're, you are are a Harley Quinn and spirit body mind everything. [SPEAKER_03]: You just, you go, everybody's on board. [SPEAKER_03]: with it to tell you one of everybody to do the greater good, Harley Quinn's are doing the Harley Quinn good. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and it is also interesting to figure out where the Harley Quinn's, like how that recruitment process happens. [SPEAKER_01]: And what I mean by that is we know that, you know, elder will volunteer, but there also seem to be stories of like when Harley Quinn's will be present on a craft or whatever, when they leave a bunch of people are missing. [SPEAKER_01]: Yep. [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, we'll also have people that when I do like less, some of them are actually, or actually are visibly taken sort of during the Hollywood performance. [SPEAKER_01]: It's in a one stage. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they go on stage with them and then they disappear with them. [SPEAKER_01]: But this also might be they were volunteering because it's, it's, what happens is the stories are a person is seen conversing with the truth master. [SPEAKER_01]: and then they suddenly disappear. [SPEAKER_01]: But no one can hear what was said. [SPEAKER_01]: So it may just be, this is actually how they recruit. [SPEAKER_01]: And the few times you see it, people are like, oh yeah, I'll totally join the Harley Quinn. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, oh, let's go. [SPEAKER_01]: You're a Harley Quinn. [SPEAKER_00]: We'll be right back after a quick break. [SPEAKER_01]: So once they've joined to the Harley Quinn, that's Brian was just saying new life, new purpose. [SPEAKER_01]: They're going to get the role of the light, the role of the dark, or the role of the twilight. [SPEAKER_01]: each of these, when we say a role, these are actors in a play. [SPEAKER_01]: So the light is always the protagonist of the story, but it's, it's like so much more, it's not like your role, it's your role in a play, but that's not [SPEAKER_03]: It's your role in life. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, because their play is their society. [SPEAKER_01]: So let's, we'll get, let just get the overview of them will die. [SPEAKER_01]: So the light are the antagonists are like the light are the protagonists. [SPEAKER_01]: The dark are the antagonists. [SPEAKER_01]: And the twilight is my favorite are the, are the journey that one goes through to arrive at at the light or the dark. [SPEAKER_03]: I kind of feel it's like the most important actually. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, the twilight are the best. [SPEAKER_03]: It's supposed to be what you're supposed to learn. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Or get or understand in the play. [SPEAKER_01]: It was nine edition with a twilight. [SPEAKER_01]: We're broken as all hell, right? [SPEAKER_01]: They were that. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, it became light. [SPEAKER_01]: Light was blue. [SPEAKER_01]: Like out worse. [SPEAKER_03]: Light was broken at the beginning. [SPEAKER_03]: And then twilight became the one that everybody played. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I just liked twilight a lot. [SPEAKER_03]: Target nerfed immediately. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, dark was a meal like this. [SPEAKER_03]: That was then everybody gets to fight on death. [SPEAKER_03]: You're like no problem. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, cool. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to charge my entire army in and so. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, they used it. [SPEAKER_03]: They had the fight. [SPEAKER_03]: They had the fight on death that happened even after you. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I fight you fight me back. [SPEAKER_01]: I die that I fight again for some reason. [SPEAKER_01]: They were like, maybe just take that rule out. [SPEAKER_01]: People people are making this unfund. [SPEAKER_03]: You're like, I don't like this kid. [SPEAKER_01]: So if I kill you, I die. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I won't hack you. [SPEAKER_01]: No rules as you have to. [SPEAKER_01]: That was brutal. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, anyway. [SPEAKER_01]: So as Brad was just saying, [SPEAKER_01]: Each of these groups, light, dark, and twilight, this is their entire life though. [SPEAKER_01]: A player of the dark doesn't just perform the antagonist and a play, everything they do even the way that they wage war. [SPEAKER_01]: And Macaramor this later is that of the antagonist. [SPEAKER_01]: Twilight wage war in a way. [SPEAKER_01]: But this is all because outside of combat, which is a majority of the time, the Harley Quinn's will arrive at a place and put on a performance. [SPEAKER_01]: As we said before, the performance to tell a story to the audience. [SPEAKER_01]: And the performances are somewhat customized, usually to the audience, not so much the story doesn't change, but which story is told is a termed by the audience in front of them. [SPEAKER_01]: And so this is why we talked before, when the Harley Quinn show up, the Eldar stop whatever they're doing and watch, because they're about to get good information. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not, this isn't a fun like, oh, it's very with children's on rerolls and I want to catch it. [SPEAKER_03]: You're not even just, you're not getting like a life lesson that you need. [SPEAKER_03]: You're getting a, we're probably going to have some shit happen to us very soon because that's what happens. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, every time. [SPEAKER_03]: What do I need to learn from this right now to help me stay alive in my grandfather's day life? [SPEAKER_01]: with amazing to me as a way that they perform the place. [SPEAKER_01]: So each troop will perform their role with absolute perfection. [SPEAKER_01]: And to a level, it looks almost like they're one being moving in front of them. [SPEAKER_01]: the way they dance, the way they flip, the way they do these things. [SPEAKER_01]: Again, Cirque du Soleil times a million. [SPEAKER_01]: They show off perfection in speed, perfection in accuracy, et cetera. [SPEAKER_01]: However, to that end, with the plays, they don't always just do plays. [SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes they also wage war. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is called a Satan. [SPEAKER_03]: I like this quite a bit, because what happens a lot of times, especially when they do big incursions, the worst thing to see is a lot of harlequin show up. [SPEAKER_03]: Sometimes the harlequin show up and give you knowledge about what's gonna happen, and sometimes a bunch of harlequin show up. [SPEAKER_01]: And they're gonna, and they're gonna party. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and then they give you a play, but that play is, tears are showing up tomorrow kind of thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, but let's talk about what happens with the tears, and the harlequin are still there. [SPEAKER_01]: Sure, the harlequin's also don't wage war. [SPEAKER_01]: in a traditional fashion, they still, they perform a play while waging war. [SPEAKER_01]: So you're getting your ass kicked and your opponent is using the ass kicking to tell you the story of another ancient ass kick. [SPEAKER_01]: It's amazing. [SPEAKER_01]: So a funny example. [SPEAKER_01]: So the serpent's brood is a play where the Harley and the Harley Quinn's ride-in to battle on anti-graph transports. [SPEAKER_01]: From there, they then jump out of the transports and using jumps, kicks, and literally pirouettes. [SPEAKER_01]: It wrote this in the codex. [SPEAKER_01]: It said pirouettes. [SPEAKER_01]: They slaughter their entire opponents, never touching the ground. [SPEAKER_01]: each killing blow launches them back up into the air to go one to the next when they snap next, they poke swords in the heads. [SPEAKER_01]: So everyone's dead and at their final killing blow, they leap up one more time back into the transports to disappear into the web way. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is tell the story of the ancient cosmic spirits, our ancient cosmic serpents that would prey on planets from above. [SPEAKER_01]: So they just wiped out [SPEAKER_01]: Thousands, tens of thousands of soldiers usually guards them, by the way. [SPEAKER_01]: And then that's what this is going to be. [SPEAKER_01]: Guards men or fire warriors. [SPEAKER_01]: And then they jump back into the sky and just go, did you all get the story? [SPEAKER_01]: You follow that right? [SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, everyone's dead. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: But they used to be cosmic serpents. [SPEAKER_01]: And they would like, they would go through the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: You guys didn't follow that? [SPEAKER_01]: There's too busy having you cut off my head. [SPEAKER_01]: Fill list signs. [SPEAKER_01]: So each troop there for has their own style of combat. [SPEAKER_01]: We talked my earlier. [SPEAKER_01]: So the light as the antagonist, they focus on speed and precision. [SPEAKER_01]: So they tend to toy with their enemies, kind of that range, and then they burst through and kill. [SPEAKER_01]: And then disappear again. [SPEAKER_01]: It's infuriating to a foe because they're all of a sudden distance, distance, distance, on top of you. [SPEAKER_01]: It is, you know, again, not an uncommon way to wage war, but that's side note. [SPEAKER_03]: They did have to nerf this something. [SPEAKER_03]: If this was one of those, it got close to how we were supposed to be on the board. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And remember when you said infuriating the foes? [SPEAKER_03]: super cool when you're talking about or super not cool when you're talking about two people play a game of forty k on a board and one person is infuriating or they just did all the six inch moves yeah there was so much fun to play it was so much fun to play if you had them not not playing it [SPEAKER_01]: So the dark focus on death and pain. [SPEAKER_01]: So what their goal is when they strike you, they want maximum force and maximum devastation, they intentionally leave giant pools of blood where the light would have left like a small mortal world. [SPEAKER_01]: So when the light finishes the battle, if it's, you know, we'll just say, [SPEAKER_01]: guardsmen, for example. [SPEAKER_01]: They'll be a thousands of dead guardsmen, but all with a single incision, somewhere that killed them. [SPEAKER_01]: And when the dark do it, it's a giant pool of blood everywhere. [SPEAKER_03]: Here's my thing on this. [SPEAKER_03]: It's anime battles. [SPEAKER_03]: They want anime levels of giant slashing, spurting blood, shooting all over. [SPEAKER_03]: That's dark. [SPEAKER_03]: That's what I think when I think dark, I don't attack him. [SPEAKER_01]: Watch anime. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to let myself know about some stuff that exists because if I do that rabbit hole, I'm just going on a side story on that. [SPEAKER_01]: I actually didn't fight it until much later in life when people came up and started. [SPEAKER_01]: Right, and they make you, I just, I was at a point where people, hey, you're where anime is cool now, because I mean, I'm, I was born in an eighty-one. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's like, you know, anime, even like the late nineties, it was, you know, when transformers was technically anime, but it's a little bit's that, and then people like, oh no, actually it's, it's not super weird and pervy anymore. [SPEAKER_01]: It's incredibly interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: Stories are well written. [SPEAKER_01]: The anime is incredible. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, I would love to. [SPEAKER_01]: I just don't have that. [SPEAKER_01]: Because I, my brain will then want to consume all of it. [SPEAKER_03]: Mine was, yeah, two thousand. [SPEAKER_01]: This is when I, uh, it existed. [SPEAKER_01]: It, this is a time of race, twenty, twenty, five. [SPEAKER_01]: If I were to get into anime, I would lose six months of my life because I would find my life. [SPEAKER_01]: I would still back to the old stuff. [SPEAKER_03]: I would only watch things that people would go, you know, you know, how I feel about this and they go, this is something you would like. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, I just have to avoid it. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, twilight though. [SPEAKER_01]: So twilight again, my favorite. [SPEAKER_01]: I love these guys. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So they're known as the balance of light of life and death. [SPEAKER_01]: So their combat style is all about striking at the most opportunity time. [SPEAKER_01]: The twilight do a very incredibly super movie style combat. [SPEAKER_01]: They will put themselves in a position like the sword out whatever it is out and they will hold still until the opponent gets just at the right range and they just kill them and they go back to standing still. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, I want to expound on that because one of the best things about it is it isn't like they have a bunch of individual deals though because a troop fights as one hole Yeah, and they do these that one person still to let the other to yeah, they're all still you got like ten dudes are standing there perfectly still This was the opponent gets the right range. [SPEAKER_01]: They all move at once and the opponent's not there [SPEAKER_03]: It legitimately again looks like the place happening because they move as one, they're doing all these moves. [SPEAKER_01]: It's the ultimate robot. [SPEAKER_03]: But they're also so fast in doing everything. [SPEAKER_03]: But then you look at it later and go, did they just actually perform a bunch of belly moves in this battle? [SPEAKER_01]: Let's just say in the deep dark sections of the Inquisition galleries, they watch videos of Harley Quinn's drinking. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just like I checked this out. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's take bets on how far this head is going to go once it's chopped off that body. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like one hundred percent being done by the Inquisition. [SPEAKER_03]: They do full dances inside this that are part of the way that they fight and they're all choreographed effectively. [SPEAKER_01]: And one area I want to talk about is the difference here because we talked about when we're talking about the Harlequin fight as one. [SPEAKER_01]: I obviously criticize GW a lot by using the same thing over and over and over again. [SPEAKER_01]: It is different though than the space. [SPEAKER_01]: Because we talk about the space marines fight as one, but they don't. [SPEAKER_01]: They fight as one. [SPEAKER_01]: It's as one with the diversity of troops. [SPEAKER_01]: So each squad in space marines is designed to do a very specific task that targets a specific enemy that's most susceptible to their style of war. [SPEAKER_01]: That's why you have a devastating squad. [SPEAKER_01]: Although those are mostly gone now. [SPEAKER_01]: It's why you have thanks Brad. [SPEAKER_01]: I love that. [SPEAKER_01]: I know and that's why we don't have that's why your points are horrible. [SPEAKER_01]: It's why we don't have nice things. [SPEAKER_01]: Why we can't have nice things. [SPEAKER_01]: portion of a space marine army is designed to do a singular task and then as one, all those pieces come together like Voltron and fight as one. [SPEAKER_01]: Harlequins are not. [SPEAKER_01]: Harlequins actually fight as one. [SPEAKER_01]: Each of them is a fully encompassed fighting style. [SPEAKER_01]: The entirety of the light, the entirety of the dark, the entirety of the twilight can show up and fight. [SPEAKER_01]: They will at times have multiples, but it's rare. [SPEAKER_01]: It's usually just only one of them has arrived. [SPEAKER_01]: It's usually only one mask is everybody at one time and in lower for sure. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and so this makes them [SPEAKER_01]: It's truly an army of one in that regard. [SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't to call that out because if I, if I, I don't feel being like, oh, well, John, when the elder are doing, you're totally okay with it. [SPEAKER_01]: But whenever an else does it, you're kind of a dick about it. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's still probably true. [SPEAKER_01]: But I'm justifying myself as being a hypocrite. [SPEAKER_01]: So what this does though is the harloquins, it makes them, they just overwhelm their enemies because you can't even counter attack their style because it's just so, it's so diverse because every single soldier's not like, oh, okay, the light are here. [SPEAKER_01]: So maybe I can draw them out and I'm dead. [SPEAKER_01]: Or the twilight, well, what if we use range? [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, we're all so dead. [SPEAKER_01]: They just, they're such incredible combat. [SPEAKER_01]: It probably looks cool. [SPEAKER_01]: You mean you're dying, you're like, that was awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: The Harley Quinn's unlike all the lame armies of the Forty-K universe are perfection in their simplicity. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm going to call this a lame army. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, the Harley Quinn's are. [SPEAKER_01]: They've got eight data sheets. [SPEAKER_01]: Eight. [SPEAKER_01]: I tell you, he's like, unlike the name of his. [SPEAKER_01]: Because I think they're the best. [SPEAKER_01]: The Harley Quinn's. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, the paint shop's a pain on the ass. [SPEAKER_01]: The kind of news is used by the same eight box over and over again. [SPEAKER_01]: Also, suck at world leaders by the way. [SPEAKER_01]: They all complain about, oh, we don't have enough data sheets. [SPEAKER_01]: The Harley Quinn's had eight data sheets. [SPEAKER_01]: Eight. [SPEAKER_01]: And only wonder, I mean, sure, you win one or two of them are broken beyond all of a pair. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, it is easy to play with them. [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, the Harley Quinn's just win on the table top with eight data sheets. [SPEAKER_01]: And up until ninth edition, Voidby was an even exist. [SPEAKER_01]: That's true. [SPEAKER_01]: Remember those don't they had ever seen one on the table top ever. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's technically seven data sheets you're playing with. [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, these were, they were fun. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, Harlequin Tech. [SPEAKER_01]: So how are they able to be so good with what is eight data sheets? [SPEAKER_01]: And it's cause Harlequin Tech is Eldar and Jukari Tech turned up to an eleven. [SPEAKER_01]: It's actually more time for like a thirteen of being honest because they took all just normal Eldar and Jukari weaponry and many are theorized it and improved it. [SPEAKER_01]: Like she'd like to death watch, but just [SPEAKER_01]: even better, because the hard-liquins have haywire technology, which, so do the Ducari. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's just, but it's an EMP gun that fires electromagnetic energy, that can destroy electronics, but also kills machine spirits and scrap codes. [SPEAKER_01]: It can drop, it just drops stuff in instant. [SPEAKER_01]: And the Ducari carry this in small rifles, basically. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Like it's nothing. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, the thing is that the college wins do everything that the elder do and they kind of militarize everything to be honest. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what it's, the militarization is really cool. [SPEAKER_01]: It seems like prism technology. [SPEAKER_01]: So we talked about one of my favorite things, Brad's least favorite and entire elder line, fire prisms. [SPEAKER_01]: It's gigantic. [SPEAKER_01]: It's gigantic and cost a lot of points, but when it hits things, it makes the go. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you know, it's easier to do a bring a one-third-the-size tank with the same gun. [SPEAKER_01]: One-third. [SPEAKER_01]: They carry them. [SPEAKER_01]: That's it. [SPEAKER_01]: That's it. [SPEAKER_01]: That's it. [SPEAKER_01]: Awesome, kind of. [SPEAKER_01]: Guys have them as pistol for. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll also try. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: I was just thinking about the Voidweaver gun. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, the point where we're gonna is the same thing as the fireperson. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna just a lot smaller, but I'm somebody also carrying a pistol for him because they're freaking hard-liquins and they're awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they do have Cherokee in which I hate. [SPEAKER_01]: So we're just gonna skip the Cherokee because it shoots a little. [SPEAKER_01]: It shoots little ninja stars for no. [SPEAKER_03]: I know, I know. [SPEAKER_03]: I know. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm not even going into it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just a dummy. [SPEAKER_01]: It could shred the opponent so kind of bullet and it actually goes straight. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but it wouldn't look cool. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was a spitting star. [SPEAKER_01]: You have to shoot it like this. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, what is this? [SPEAKER_01]: Like, anyway, but more importantly though, the hard-liquins pistol game, I think is the most on point with fusion in our whole crew. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So the first one is their fusion pistols, which is a melto gun that just, but in a pistol form, so you can get close to your, like, the most armored foe exist and just put a hole in it with your pistol. [SPEAKER_01]: or the one that doesn't get played enough, which was awesome, or is a neurodisruptor. [SPEAKER_01]: So good. [SPEAKER_01]: And Laura, I mean, on tabletop, it's effectively useless. [SPEAKER_01]: It still exists. [SPEAKER_03]: No, it's because it does the two, we used to just straight new mortals. [SPEAKER_01]: It did do straight mortals, but you make it. [SPEAKER_01]: Now it's not as good. [SPEAKER_01]: But the neurodisruptor shoots invisible energy at an opponent, also has weird electrons at the atomic level, so it can go straight through armors. [SPEAKER_01]: Why I don't like it on the tabletop, because in theory, [SPEAKER_01]: This should auto hit auto wound every single time in the Lord because it shoots. [SPEAKER_03]: It's true. [SPEAKER_03]: I would say too, too. [SPEAKER_01]: But it's still, yeah, you could just miss. [SPEAKER_01]: But if I don't miss, you die. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I'm saying I have no chance. [SPEAKER_01]: Once it gets through, it goes right through the armor and then it actually just demolishes your nervous system and you do some fall to the ground paralyzed and then they can walk over to you and just stab you. [SPEAKER_01]: It's the same thing with monofilaments to be perfectly honest. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're pretty similar. [SPEAKER_01]: Monofilament, at least, is like, in the lore, there's stuff about monofilament can be blocked by armor. [SPEAKER_03]: It can be blocked by actual void shielding. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, where is the armor? [SPEAKER_03]: It just passes through. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the neurodysrup there just goes through and then you fall down, but you're not dead. [SPEAKER_01]: You just because you're nervous. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, maybe if you're nervous, some turns off, you probably are dead. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's probably how about this? [SPEAKER_03]: It's not going to feel great either way. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: But the greatest part of Harley Quinn's, that's what is a heavy side, is their melee weapons and it's heavy side because we lost them all. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the crest, the kiss. [SPEAKER_01]: So up until stupid tenth edition, every Harley Quinn had their own weapon. [SPEAKER_01]: Now they're just called Harley Quinn's special weapons. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, there's a Harley Quinn weapon. [SPEAKER_01]: Kiss my ass. [SPEAKER_01]: This one pisses me off. [SPEAKER_01]: So let's start with the caress, which I was gonna sing the misfits song, but I don't really know. [SPEAKER_01]: When I wrote the notes, I was like, oh, I'll make a funny joke, and I was like, I have a misfits tattoo on my arm. [SPEAKER_01]: So if you've seen me in person, you'll notice it. [SPEAKER_01]: So the caress, the caress in cases, the Harley Quinn's hand, I love this weapon so much. [SPEAKER_01]: It just looks like a hand. [SPEAKER_01]: That's all it looks like on the mall. [SPEAKER_01]: But what it is, it's a hand that's in case in a phase field, just like the Necron and Death Watch weapons or the collects assassin. [SPEAKER_01]: The Harlequin can then use its hand to reach into your body, re-materialize, grab your heart or organs, and pull them back out of your body, all of Indiana Jones. [SPEAKER_01]: I say, I hope they say that while they're doing it. [SPEAKER_01]: But they could grab any organ. [SPEAKER_01]: So keep that in mind. [SPEAKER_01]: If they just want this to really, they really want to make a point, man. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: They want to make a point. [SPEAKER_01]: Andy Oregon. [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, they could actually put on a pandex. [SPEAKER_01]: So if they could save a life. [SPEAKER_01]: I feel that that's what they're doing. [SPEAKER_01]: It would be funny. [SPEAKER_01]: It's one garlic when it shows up in a bunch of guardsman walks over the guy. [SPEAKER_01]: Swamp to caress at him. [SPEAKER_01]: The guy just like, what happened? [SPEAKER_01]: Like, oh, your appendix is no longer bursting. [SPEAKER_01]: That's Dr. Harley. [SPEAKER_01]: You're induced. [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_01]: That everyone's like that guard whoever that guy is, he's incredibly important to just whatever he is shooting at that guy. [SPEAKER_01]: No one let him die. [SPEAKER_01]: The next big, great one was the embrace. [SPEAKER_01]: which is Spider-Man's web slinger, but filled with the same monofilament as a warp spider gun. [SPEAKER_03]: So what they do is they, who is so funny though? [SPEAKER_03]: Because they effectively punch you and you're like, yeah, you missed it and you're like, oh, I'm dead. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they punch the opponent in the face or wherever. [SPEAKER_01]: And just as they're making contact, the Spider-Man thing shoots off. [SPEAKER_01]: firing a bunch of mono filament into anything like the gap of the armor that's right there. [SPEAKER_01]: It just goes right in and then eats whatever soft tissue is inside of there. [SPEAKER_01]: And then there's the Harlequin kiss, which is the most common of their weapons. [SPEAKER_01]: The Harlequin's kiss is meant to be like a stinger of a bee. [SPEAKER_01]: So you're going to attach to their wrist is a microscopic sharp tip. [SPEAKER_01]: And so as the Harlequin's dancing around in combat, it basically they move their arms out. [SPEAKER_01]: And it looks like nothing, but they're opponent suddenly drops. [SPEAKER_01]: It's because as their arm goes out, this needle shoots out and goes to a gap in the armor and will make a small puncture wound like into their heart. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but it sucks because it also doesn't explosion inside of you. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so it actually goes in your right goes in. [SPEAKER_01]: It punctures your skin or it punctures your armor. [SPEAKER_01]: So it gets into your skin. [SPEAKER_01]: It just, it's in a millisecond explodes outward and expands. [SPEAKER_01]: and then collapse as it comes back in. [SPEAKER_01]: And so the opponent just drops. [SPEAKER_01]: Because he immediately basically goes into someone's head and then their brain is turned to mush. [SPEAKER_01]: And then he's on to the next. [SPEAKER_03]: So he reasonably met into my head and it come back out. [SPEAKER_01]: Like I'm going to lay down. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't feel very good. [SPEAKER_01]: But all of those weapons require you to kind of, you know, be moved, be close and dancing. [SPEAKER_01]: What if I want to move him possibly fast and just cut heads off? [SPEAKER_01]: Is this ever going to say you're riding a bike? [SPEAKER_01]: Well, not everybody, you're riding on the outside of a bike. [SPEAKER_01]: Because the Zephyr Glaves are, I do love Harlequin bikes. [SPEAKER_01]: The Zephyr Glaves is a dude holding on to a Eldar speed bike, which is one of the fastest things in the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: with one hand. [SPEAKER_01]: So there's a guy driving it. [SPEAKER_01]: That is the guy holding on to the back and holding a pole arm with it and just lopping heads off as it flies through. [SPEAKER_01]: Yep. [SPEAKER_01]: Like mock three. [SPEAKER_01]: They also have power swords. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll give up power swords. [SPEAKER_01]: Just take this effort. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's a piece of like they have like product with half power swords and some of the power swords are cool, but it's just a power. [SPEAKER_01]: Zephyrd blade cool or caress cool. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Any of those things? [SPEAKER_01]: All of these things are more awesome than is also a sword's power sword does lie damage. [SPEAKER_03]: Awesome. [SPEAKER_03]: All kills are done by backfliping. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying. [SPEAKER_01]: So as we said before, all the harloquins are made up of players in a troop. [SPEAKER_01]: And so as with all the plays, all the harloquins have different roles in their troop. [SPEAKER_01]: So the basic harloquins is just the troop. [SPEAKER_01]: you know, and by basic, I mean, an imperial assassin level. [SPEAKER_03]: The basic, the basic, the basic, you know, really plain Jane Guy, probably the same as a guardsman, you know, phasing in and out of reality. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, can have a conversation with you while having a fist fight with a custodian, you know, basic. [SPEAKER_03]: Fighting on being an out of a moving vehicle that's traveling. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know, three, four hundred miles an hour. [SPEAKER_03]: do the correction for kilometers for everywhere else. [SPEAKER_03]: But, and then, oh, yeah, did I mention we talked about the whole not touching the ground. [SPEAKER_03]: They often fight as it's one thing they do in the game. [SPEAKER_03]: That's nice. [SPEAKER_03]: They get the bounce back in the China transports. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: But they will just kill people and bounce back into their still moving transport. [SPEAKER_01]: It's awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: Cool thing about the troops is they actually wear a special mask in combat. [SPEAKER_01]: So these ones are actually MASKS, the other ones were MASQUES. [SPEAKER_03]: Mask versus mask. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's the same pronunciation. [SPEAKER_01]: Sorry. [SPEAKER_01]: It was for us. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, suck it non-English speakers. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, which is weird. [SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, I'm just going to call that one out. [SPEAKER_01]: But these masks that they wear are actually, have the effect of everyone who looks at them, see something different. [SPEAKER_01]: Not in the sense of mission impossible. [SPEAKER_01]: I appear to be someone else. [SPEAKER_01]: It's way nastier. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a psychological effect where you become face to face with your worst fears. [SPEAKER_01]: And so with this mask, as it really do, it's actually a freeze and opponent. [SPEAKER_01]: or at least slow them down because they just get mesmerized by the face of the harlequin. [SPEAKER_01]: In which case you get step? [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: It needs so much more sense when they have stuff like this. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, initiative like kissing. [SPEAKER_01]: I know you want to write a initiative and I get where you're coming from on it. [SPEAKER_01]: It is ultimate feel bad. [SPEAKER_01]: I know. [SPEAKER_01]: Like it's the same with I don't think we should be able to see this initiative. [SPEAKER_01]: So that's terrible. [SPEAKER_01]: That was off. [SPEAKER_01]: Such a bad deal. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going first. [SPEAKER_01]: Cool. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to play my entire army for going first. [SPEAKER_01]: Also cool. [SPEAKER_01]: I wrote a section. [SPEAKER_01]: I going first anymore. [SPEAKER_01]: You lose the game. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It sucked. [SPEAKER_01]: If, and we don't know how this happens, by the way, as far as getting promoted. [SPEAKER_01]: But events, but some troops become troop leaders, which are called troop masters. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, lead players and they have troop masters. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what players the sergeant, lead players the sergeant, and then you have the troop master, who at one point were called avatars, because they were avatars of Kegarak, but GW changed that now they're just troop masters, which is fine. [SPEAKER_01]: Basically, they're just a little more [SPEAKER_01]: then a standard troop. [SPEAKER_01]: On the tabletop, that's all I do. [SPEAKER_01]: In the lore, holy crap. [SPEAKER_01]: Do they do more? [SPEAKER_01]: So first off, they're the leader of the troop. [SPEAKER_01]: And so they're in charge of leading the show. [SPEAKER_01]: So they take on all the key roles, the performance. [SPEAKER_01]: They're also the ones who speak to the audience or victims. [SPEAKER_01]: Same thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Same thing. [SPEAKER_01]: The coolest thing that me often know is that they always leave evidence of their presence. [SPEAKER_01]: So after a performance, the troop master will leave a small flag behind, and the flag is a symbol of the troop, letting everyone who walks the performance know who was performing, or [SPEAKER_01]: A massive war where everyone's dead and you let the calling call of like the best is they do it the exact same way for either yeah, it's a sink calling garden frozen stars were here that was a wonderful performance and glad that frozen stars were here frozen stars were here in the inquisitions like we have to kill every frozen [SPEAKER_01]: Um, the next one up is the shadow sear, which is the ringmaster of the Harley Quinn's. [SPEAKER_01]: They're incredibly powerful psychers, like far sear level of power. [SPEAKER_01]: Also, can we just talk about how cool this model looks. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, the model looks amazing. [SPEAKER_03]: If you're going to just grab a Harley Quinn. [SPEAKER_03]: Grab a shadow, shadows here might be the coolest. [SPEAKER_01]: It just looks so cool. [SPEAKER_01]: I like the gestures, but yeah, you can never go wrong. [SPEAKER_01]: Because the one that has the wrist, but the shadows here is basically a far-seared level cycle. [SPEAKER_01]: fun note on that, though, in order to keep Slonesh out, Combera has a very strong no-secret policy and not like the no-shirt, no-shoes, no-service policy. [SPEAKER_01]: This one's real. [SPEAKER_01]: No-secret, if a siker is found within this kill, Comber, they kill instantly. [SPEAKER_01]: Unless the siker is a shadow seer, in which case they can walk around yelling, I'm a siker, I'm a siker. [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, powers. [SPEAKER_01]: And everyone, everyone in commerce, like cool, cool, glad you're here. [SPEAKER_01]: Awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: Super glad you're here. [SPEAKER_01]: What makes them kind of fun is that they actually use a combination of psychic powers and technology to make their performances of the, of the Harley Quinn's even better or in combat doing incredibly horrible things. [SPEAKER_03]: They buff though. [SPEAKER_03]: I love the fact that they buff. [SPEAKER_03]: They also obfuscate. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, they'll blind the opponents. [SPEAKER_01]: They'll use pre-cog to make it so the opponents. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, so the Harley Quinn's used to have a double move. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what this was. [SPEAKER_01]: The idea was, and this is again, Laura Tabletop when they get it right. [SPEAKER_01]: As a shadow seer could make one of your harlequin units double move through that came from the lore because in the lore they were pretty or such powerful pre-cogs that they could tell their upon the other harlequins what to do and it made the harlequins feel like they were moving at two or three times a speed of their opponents because they could match anything the opponent was doing because they knew what they were doing ahead of them. [SPEAKER_03]: I love their application because their application isn't [SPEAKER_03]: We're the predator we're sneaking in. [SPEAKER_03]: No, the shadows here's we're actually affecting your mind. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you could not see them exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: They also did just have it. [SPEAKER_03]: And yes, I'm John Cena. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that was all married and I'm not hiring. [SPEAKER_01]: But my favorite one is they could also melt your mind. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: I miss mirror of mine. [SPEAKER_03]: That was such a gross part. [SPEAKER_01]: It was so much fun. [SPEAKER_01]: So, okay. [SPEAKER_01]: You and your position. [SPEAKER_03]: The only thing that you did that you won when you tied everything else the defender wins on a tie. [SPEAKER_03]: This is the only one where the attacker won. [SPEAKER_01]: So everyone understands what the way it works is. [SPEAKER_01]: I would roll a D six and my opponent would roll a D six and if I rolled the same or higher than them, they took a mortal wound and then we did it again and again until you won until they won. [SPEAKER_01]: or you died. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: It was my favorite thing to cast. [SPEAKER_01]: So no, it didn't work most of that, but when it did work, people were just broke it. [SPEAKER_01]: It was so great. [SPEAKER_03]: Is that sort of a leadership chat? [SPEAKER_03]: So is the D-Sex plus? [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, that's the thousand sons or G-S-C. [SPEAKER_03]: No, that's my more. [SPEAKER_01]: Is that G-S-C? [SPEAKER_03]: No, it's regular elder. [SPEAKER_01]: No, it was, I couldn't know, G-S-C had one. [SPEAKER_03]: They have the same, they have the G-S-C had one that was G-S-C and G-S-C and mine were with the same thing. [SPEAKER_01]: This is different. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, that's right. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: But the GSC one, they could act, just head of it to manipulate your leadership. [SPEAKER_01]: So it was actually wasn't possible to stop it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Because they can make everybody around you at a stacking modify. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So it could actually be like, All right. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to do this power. [SPEAKER_01]: That things all go down. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, those were the good old days. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, the death gesture, my second favorite. [SPEAKER_01]: The death gesture is a sniper, meets a heavy weapon specialist, meets the Punisher. [SPEAKER_01]: Their role in a play is to play death itself. [SPEAKER_01]: They're the grim Reaper for lack of better analogy. [SPEAKER_01]: They are the most cold and calculated killers ever, but they add pizzazz. [SPEAKER_01]: Because they're not, they're not just the like, [SPEAKER_01]: Leon level like murder, who's good. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I'm just going to kill everyone. [SPEAKER_01]: You're very well aware that there's a death jester there because they, they're messed up, man. [SPEAKER_01]: Like they home a tune. [SPEAKER_01]: They know they're known for humming while slaughtering folks. [SPEAKER_03]: They can't do it in the game because there isn't a way to do it, but they, in the lore, one of the biggest things they do is you've got this devastating unit that's driving in a transport and they just shoot the driver. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Like all that's all the time. [SPEAKER_01]: One of the reasons. [SPEAKER_01]: One of my favorite, so they also, they congratulate themselves for very good kills. [SPEAKER_01]: They actually take a bow and will applaud themselves. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's on the battlefield. [SPEAKER_01]: They're awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: So they're they're they're they love. [SPEAKER_01]: They'll be in position and they'll wish wait while a leader is like giving a really rousing speech to everyone and then as the leader is giving the final like that is decibel today is not that day final word the his head explodes. [SPEAKER_01]: or they'll just sit, the other one I loved is they'll sit silently, watching troops mine an entire field. [SPEAKER_01]: And then just as they finished, begin shooting at them, forcing the run into their own minds. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, one of the way favorite on the on the table tops was if a deathchester shoots you, Matt still right now, this is still a rule that you have to take a check. [SPEAKER_03]: I'll leave you a check. [SPEAKER_03]: Right now, it's a battle shot. [SPEAKER_03]: But before you had to take, you remember you used to have to kill guys. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: If you failed your leadership, you had to lose guys equal to whatever you did it. [SPEAKER_03]: The deathchester got to pick. [SPEAKER_03]: who died, the first one that died. [SPEAKER_03]: So you would lose coherence. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he would take the middle guy. [SPEAKER_01]: The death gesture was awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no, one that they would do is they could, they would shoot a heavy weapon team as they were pulling the trigger calls in the weapon to explore. [SPEAKER_01]: Basically, basically, like, so like as a guy is firing a rocket, he shoots him the legs with other rocket shoots into the ground and blows everything up. [SPEAKER_01]: My favorite story of them was it's in the eighth edition codex if you want to look it up. [SPEAKER_01]: So it was a Mordian guardsman and his squad. [SPEAKER_01]: They're fighting just an unknown enemy. [SPEAKER_01]: So they call for extraction and there's a lander inbound. [SPEAKER_01]: It was a single death jester. [SPEAKER_01]: After like picking off off these guardsmen, a bunch of them found shelter, like a small trench right by the landing pad. [SPEAKER_01]: They were hiding there. [SPEAKER_01]: And they could see the death jester appear. [SPEAKER_01]: And the dead should have fired like three shots at them and went right over their heads and missed. [SPEAKER_01]: didn't miss. [SPEAKER_01]: It hit the pilots in the cockpit of the landing shuttle, which then caused the landing shuttle to crash into the trench on top of the morning guardsmen who are there. [SPEAKER_01]: The commander survives this. [SPEAKER_01]: Watch the deathjester stand up. [SPEAKER_01]: Take a bow for himself and then shoot the commander. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: Take move. [SPEAKER_01]: But cool. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, super cool. [SPEAKER_01]: But let's get to the best. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's going to be awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: So the solitaire is the greatest warrior in the entire galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I don't care about guys. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't care about anything. [SPEAKER_01]: The solitaire. [SPEAKER_01]: This is the greatest warrior. [SPEAKER_03]: The greatest distance between Lord and the truth is you should not have a model. [SPEAKER_01]: No, that's the thing. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a savory. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a savory. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a savory. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a savory. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a savory. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a savory. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a savory. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a savory. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a savory. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a savory. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a savory. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a savory. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a savory. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So the solitaire. [SPEAKER_01]: So set up the play first. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: The solitory play who are they in a play has the most important role. [SPEAKER_01]: It's slenish when the solitory, when the Harley Quinn's are performing their mask on the the story of the fall, the birth of slenish, slenish is played by a solitaire. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is incredibly problematic because when a Harley Quinn [SPEAKER_01]: plays a role in in a play. [SPEAKER_01]: So much like Robert De Niro, they're all method actors. [SPEAKER_03]: It will go. [SPEAKER_03]: No, he got to go into, uh, who, uh, dances with Wolfe or not dance with us. [SPEAKER_03]: It's cost care. [SPEAKER_03]: What is cost? [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, uh, last one will he can's. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Daniel Delos. [SPEAKER_01]: Daniel Delos. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_01]: You're very well. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, it's your brother. [SPEAKER_01]: It's Daniel Delos. [SPEAKER_01]: Daniel Delos level of methadacting. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what the Harley Quinn's all do. [SPEAKER_01]: So you're playing Slanesh, you embrace and become the greatest enemy of your own people. [SPEAKER_01]: And so in order to do so, the solitaryers must like possess and control, like their themselves and a power like beyond that of Phoenix Lord. [SPEAKER_01]: Because every minute of every day, they have now opened their soul up the temptation of the fall. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not just the temptation of slenex, it's the temptation to become what the Eldar used to be. [SPEAKER_01]: And so every solitaire they believe is touched directly by Kegarek and the God actually flows through them because the story is that for every solitaire Kegarek has stolen them back from Sloanash. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll tell you to describe it. [SPEAKER_01]: So they effectively, their soul was consumed by Sloanash and then Kegarek took it back. [SPEAKER_03]: And as the greatest trick that he does. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, but [SPEAKER_03]: to be a solitary kind of sucks. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're complete and total solitude. [SPEAKER_01]: They're they're always seen. [SPEAKER_01]: They're only ever alone and is wandering. [SPEAKER_01]: The fun story is no one knows they're a solitary. [SPEAKER_01]: So they just kind of don't wander around Eldar and Yukari societies. [SPEAKER_01]: But they don't speak, you know, there's, they're also ahead hunters. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you can kind of figure out that there's, there's one nearby and because they, they communicate with gestures and dances. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think this was supposed to be something kind of cool where like, [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, they're mysterious and whatever, but my mind is more like so, basically, everyone knows the solitaire and they just kind of avoid it because it's also a solitaire. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's still, it's mysterious and I'm okay with that. [SPEAKER_03]: What's that? [SPEAKER_03]: Sometimes something doesn't make sense, but it's part of the, the mystique and the mystique and I'm okay. [SPEAKER_01]: That's fair. [SPEAKER_01]: One thing I really do enjoy about them though, is that [SPEAKER_01]: even though other harloquins don't know if they're present. [SPEAKER_01]: So suddenly while the harloquins are performing a mask, the solitaire, all a superman coming out of a phone booth would appear in full costume and the play changes on an instant. [SPEAKER_01]: And becomes now a story of the fall because they solitary fear. [SPEAKER_03]: And everything changes and on the battlefield, this is so crazy. [SPEAKER_03]: Because let's talk about what an average person moves in the board. [SPEAKER_03]: And average person moves six. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: the solitaire moves, twelve, but can go twelve plus two d six plus another d six and then charge two d six. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I would talk a little bit. [SPEAKER_03]: That's not enough. [SPEAKER_03]: That's the craziest thing in the board and it's still not fast enough per the lore because the solitaire just shows up. [SPEAKER_01]: Sure. [SPEAKER_01]: The more solitaire would appear in the board and anything near it is dead. [SPEAKER_01]: But they're also in the next turn. [SPEAKER_01]: Everything, anything between where it was and where it is now is dead. [SPEAKER_01]: They're insane warriors. [SPEAKER_01]: What I like about them, too, is that they're also revered by the Harlequin. [SPEAKER_01]: So as we said before, the Harlequin's troop is structured, where it's led by a troop leader. [SPEAKER_01]: But there's this like off dotted line off the troop leader for a solitaire. [SPEAKER_01]: Should a solitaire show up on a battlefield? [SPEAKER_01]: Every single Harlequin sees what they're doing and follows the solitaire. [SPEAKER_01]: They have complete and total control, but it's because they also always win. [SPEAKER_01]: The example I use here is they have the precision in fight that makes a custod, look like a bull grid. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they are in lawyer. [SPEAKER_01]: It's bananas. [SPEAKER_01]: Hand to hand those slaughter and tire squads. [SPEAKER_01]: This is what appeared in the Golden Throne. [SPEAKER_01]: And the custodes didn't know what to do about it until they got bored and left. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and the thing is they're so fast. [SPEAKER_03]: It's so sane in the game. [SPEAKER_03]: They move ten times as fast as most other people can on the board and it's still not fast. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because they'd had to win the the times when the appearance seen a solitaire, they have to go back over the tape basically to find out what happened. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and it drives me nuts about this. [SPEAKER_01]: This is where the table top saw a terrorist shot. [SPEAKER_01]: The point is, almost don't like playing my solitary on the table top because they are in the lower invincible capital. [SPEAKER_03]: They can almost kill reliably five Marines. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Like they could, I actually see, I'm less upset. [SPEAKER_01]: I rely the lower killing rate. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm more upset that the Marines kill it back. [SPEAKER_01]: Like the Marines should be at a minus seven to hit. [SPEAKER_03]: They should have, the solitary should have a balance or something. [SPEAKER_03]: The solitary should be, the solitary should probably be unplayable because it's rule should be. [SPEAKER_01]: So when I talk them up, there are numerous stories of solitaryers just killing imperial assassins and passing. [SPEAKER_01]: because the solitaryers hunting someone down. [SPEAKER_01]: There was service. [SPEAKER_01]: They're hunting someone down. [SPEAKER_01]: The Imperium sent ever source to go to go protect the target. [SPEAKER_01]: And the solitaryers murdered all the ever source. [SPEAKER_01]: Although one time they did, the solitaryer did make the ever source explode to kill the target. [SPEAKER_01]: That was the funny one. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, how about we talk? [SPEAKER_03]: Let's talk about the real thing now. [SPEAKER_01]: What, that the solitaire may not actually be a solitaire? [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, the solitaire. [SPEAKER_03]: Hey, man, sometimes the laughing God shows up personally as a solitaire. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And then you're like, hey, man, I lost. [SPEAKER_03]: Why? [SPEAKER_03]: That battlefield really unfair. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, you were fighting one of the elder gods. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you were fighting a god. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, but like, you know, oh, you mean someone that people look up to and like, and they think he's impressive. [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, and an actual actual elder God. [SPEAKER_03]: Like an avatar of him. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, no, no, no, he showed up personally. [SPEAKER_03]: The full thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's a full thing. [SPEAKER_01]: You, you fought a, you know, sixty million year old God. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [UNKNOWN]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh. [SPEAKER_01]: Just sad. [SPEAKER_01]: Just sad. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, death deaths is actually good right now. [SPEAKER_01]: But all right, with that though, I think we'll break there because we've been a little bit long there. [SPEAKER_01]: Next week, we're going to go more into what a Harley Quinn move. [SPEAKER_01]: Next week, we're going to move more away from what a Harley Quinn is, is what we were doing today and rather focus more on their role in Forty K. Law, especially like as a vehicle that she W uses to move the narrative along. [SPEAKER_01]: They're their biggest piece recently. [SPEAKER_03]: Bye. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, you're, you live fanboy and I'm as small as I do. [SPEAKER_03]: We do give them a much of passes and stuff. [SPEAKER_03]: We don't usually do because they are heavy handed. [SPEAKER_03]: Sometimes with Harley Quinn's show up and move it, but I still like. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the difference is the Harley Quinn's have become the vehicle to move the Laura along. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's the whole thing because when the Harley Quinn's arrive and that means, ooh, plot change is coming. [SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't make sense. [SPEAKER_01]: They play the role of the narrator quite a bit. [SPEAKER_01]: I like that a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: I will admit though, I'm not a hundred percent that they should be a table top army. [SPEAKER_03]: No, no. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It's them and them and custodes are both like, like, you don't like nights or airplanes, which is fine. [SPEAKER_01]: But that's that's more of it because that's a balancing issue, I think. [SPEAKER_01]: That's balance. [SPEAKER_01]: Whereas custodes and Harley Quinn's both found the category of like, they're too okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, in lower than or belong to the table. [SPEAKER_03]: So then you put them a table top and you're like, oh, you're always a little bit disappointed because you're like, didn't this thing just wipe out all of these things? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, my solitaire might be an Eldar God, and it just went down to it. [SPEAKER_03]: And then I was trying to say, say, P. Two, two damage. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly before. [SPEAKER_03]: Thanks. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it does not feel Eldar Godi. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, four wounds with a, with a, with a, fifty, fifty saved. [SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't really feel a whole lot Eldar God. [SPEAKER_01]: Pretty loose definition of God. [SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: By the way, we hope you guys enjoyed today's cast, and you know, join us again next week. [SPEAKER_01]: But until then, this has been John Barsati and Brad Chester. [SPEAKER_01]: This gap. [UNKNOWN]: you
