<v Speaker 1>was eighty six when she passed away, and she used
<v Speaker 1>to stay up at Ms. Francis. They had a cabin
<v Speaker 1>way up Pence. I think minces brothers owned that property. Now.
<v Speaker 1>It was way up there on the hill. You know.
<v Speaker 1>You had to walk through some fields and stuff to
<v Speaker 1>get there now, but the cabin's still there. It's just
<v Speaker 1>all laying laying down. But they uh wouldn't let the
<v Speaker 1>kids play outside when it got dusk. They had to
<v Speaker 1>come in because Miss Francis used to tell them there
<v Speaker 1>was something out there that would get 'em. She'd lock
<v Speaker 1>up the animals and everybody had to go in the
<v Speaker 1>cabin at dust. Only one that went out was her husband,
<v Speaker 1>you know. But they were all mainly in the cabin
<v Speaker 1>at night because something was gonna get 'em. So my
<v Speaker 1>mom was kind of always larry that, you know, there
<v Speaker 1>was something down there. My mom kind of had that
<v Speaker 1>sixth sense, and her grandmother had it from Mexico and
<v Speaker 1>my grandma practiced, which my great grandma practice witchcraft, and
<v Speaker 1>I'm sure her mother did do. But they were also
<v Speaker 1>religious that there's a certain form of it that in
<v Speaker 1>Mexico that they're good Catholics, but they still do that.
<v Speaker 1>But my mom always had like that sixth sense and
<v Speaker 1>well so when she was little, stuff would happen up there.
<v Speaker 1>But I can't remember all the stories she would tell
<v Speaker 1>us about it, cause we were young, you know. And
<v Speaker 1>then they p my parents bought property here where this
<v Speaker 1>old trailer is. My grandma and grandpa built a cabin
<v Speaker 1>there and uh I it was way up high on
<v Speaker 1>pillars because of the floods on this property. Oh on
<v Speaker 1>right here. Yeah, like where Adam's ambulance start up up
<v Speaker 1>in there. It was, you know, so tall. My other
<v Speaker 1>aunt used to be able to pull her car under there,
<v Speaker 1>and she'd set her tent and all that up under
<v Speaker 1>there in case it rained or stormed. They were protected.
<v Speaker 1>So it was l more like a pavilion under the house,
<v Speaker 1>under the cabin. Oh okay, But I can remember coming down
<v Speaker 1>here one weekend with our grandparents, cause my in the summertime,
<v Speaker 1>my grandma every kid that lived in Saint Louis County
<v Speaker 1>or Saint Louis southside Saint Louis, my grandma said going
<v Speaker 1>to the country, and she'd have thirty kids in the
<v Speaker 1>back of her truck all coming down here, and I
<v Speaker 1>can remember one night something was underneath the cabin. My
<v Speaker 1>aunt wasn't here, but it was under the cabin and
<v Speaker 1>it was growling and sounded like two large animals wrestling
<v Speaker 1>fighting over something. But my grandpa kept telling us kids
<v Speaker 1>that it had to be bears, but we had never
<v Speaker 1>seen any bears, and what would they be fighting for
<v Speaker 1>under there? You know, there's nothing under there. I I
<v Speaker 1>think it was just like a territorial, you know. But
<v Speaker 1>it seemed like the more people were here, more stuff happened.
<v Speaker 1>Because nobody was ever here during the week except in
<v Speaker 1>the summer. We'd come down, you know, and spend weeks
<v Speaker 1>down here. But something was wrestling under that cabin. I
<v Speaker 1>don't know what it was, but I don't think it
<v Speaker 1>was bears. I now, looking back at it, I think
<v Speaker 1>it was bigfoot two bigfoots fighting under there. And then
<v Speaker 1>my parents bought there was a cabin over here next
<v Speaker 1>door where Chevy's is, by that red shed, and they
<v Speaker 1>bought that. So my grandma parents just you know, my
<v Speaker 1>mom and dad took their name off the deed, and
<v Speaker 1>my grandma and grandpa stayed on there on that deed.
<v Speaker 1>So they had that cabin over here, and we were
<v Speaker 1>all here. It was you know, mom and dad had
<v Speaker 1>six kids, and then cousins all came, you know, when
<v Speaker 1>we'd come down here, everybody went loved the country. And
<v Speaker 1>uh so the first night I remember something happened in
<v Speaker 1>that cabin was something would was beaten on the front
<v Speaker 1>of the cabin, and then something would beat on the
<v Speaker 1>back of the cabin. But by time my dad would
<v Speaker 1>be at the front door with the gun, it would
<v Speaker 1>start beating on the back door, so my dad couldn't
<v Speaker 1>get to You know, it's faster than my dad could
<v Speaker 1>move across two rooms because you only had the front
<v Speaker 1>room and then the kitchen area where the it was beaten.
<v Speaker 1>So whatever it was was fast, and it was beaten
<v Speaker 1>on that cabin hard hard.
<v Speaker 2>You think it was just one creature, multiple creatures.
<v Speaker 1>I think it was multiple, because how could it be
<v Speaker 1>that fast? You know, that that quick that a man's
<v Speaker 1>going turning back and forth and don't know which way.
<v Speaker 2>It's like they're trying to create confusion. What were the
<v Speaker 2>bangs high up?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and it was loud. It was loud, like we were
<v Speaker 1>all in bed and when then we were all up
<v Speaker 1>and of course all of us girls. There was four
<v Speaker 1>of us girls in there, probably about six girls you
<v Speaker 1>count all the girls. But they we were all screaming,
<v Speaker 1>bloody murder. You know, we didn't know it was out there.
<v Speaker 1>We thought somebody was trying to get into cabin with us.
<v Speaker 1>You know, something was going to get in there and
<v Speaker 1>kill This is what we was all thinking, the way
<v Speaker 1>they was beaten on that cabin. And then, you know,
<v Speaker 1>my mom said, because even when it stopped banging, we
<v Speaker 1>were all still screaming. You know, well, we were scared.
<v Speaker 1>We didn't know if it was going to start back up,
<v Speaker 1>if something was going to get into a window, you know.
<v Speaker 1>And then my mom said, quit screaming, Quit screaming. Everybody stopped.
<v Speaker 1>Calm down. Look at the dogs. Dogs never woke up.
<v Speaker 1>I think they were hypnotized, you know somehow, because well
<v Speaker 1>I went in Great Dame's wake up that were usually
<v Speaker 1>very guardful of all of us kids.
<v Speaker 3>Wow, so the dogs were asleep the.
<v Speaker 1>Entire time, the entire time.
<v Speaker 2>It's not the first time I've heard that either.
<v Speaker 1>Never woke up, you know, until my mom was like, duke, Duke,
<v Speaker 1>you know, they never woke up.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, so they were probably hit by infrasound or something.
<v Speaker 1>Something kept them dogs from waking up. And if it
<v Speaker 1>was humans, this is my thought, it was humans. Those
<v Speaker 1>dogs would have woke up if something wasn't, you know,
<v Speaker 1>doing something to their mind. Humans can't do nothing to
<v Speaker 1>their mind. Something had them where they weren't gonna wake up.
<v Speaker 2>What was your family's thoughts in that moment when they
<v Speaker 2>realized the dogs never woke up. Did they realize that
<v Speaker 2>in the moment or afterwards?
<v Speaker 1>My mom realized it, like you know it right right
<v Speaker 1>when the beating quit and those girls are still screaming.
<v Speaker 1>You know, my dad was still had the gun, you know,
<v Speaker 1>because he kept the shotgun right next to his bed.
<v Speaker 1>And uh, because we weren't from around down here, you.
<v Speaker 2>Guys are coming down Lewis in the area was kind
<v Speaker 2>of vacant. Yeah, you guys came down.
<v Speaker 1>You know, the closest neighbor was on top of that hill.
<v Speaker 1>There were no other houses up there yet, right, and
<v Speaker 1>so if if something happened, nobody was gonna hear you.
<v Speaker 1>Nobody lived across the creek. Then it was a cabin,
<v Speaker 1>you know. Muh. The Pratts lived further up the hill,
<v Speaker 1>but there was no one across the creek.
<v Speaker 3>So back then there was a lot less people here.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah. The only people that were down here were
<v Speaker 1>my my family, you know, that came there in the
<v Speaker 1>week or the weekend in the summer, you know, so no, no,
<v Speaker 1>I can remember my parents talking about it, saying that
<v Speaker 1>it had to be some kind of animal, right, you know.
<v Speaker 1>But you know my dad was on guard after that
<v Speaker 1>a little more.
<v Speaker 3>You had that gun ready for the next time.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, yeah, I think he had two guns. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>one the kits in one in the bedroom.
<v Speaker 3>Right.
<v Speaker 1>But my dad was a big hunter and he he
<v Speaker 1>was in the service. He was in the Army and
<v Speaker 1>he was in the Air Force, National Guard. So you know,
<v Speaker 1>he wasn't afraid of anything, right, and if he did,
<v Speaker 1>he didn't show it, you know, besides staying around here.
<v Speaker 1>You know, there's somebody messing with stuff, you know, that's
<v Speaker 1>what he'd say, somebody's messing with stuff. I want to
<v Speaker 1>go stay here where I can hear you or see
<v Speaker 1>you and cats. And the n next thing I can
<v Speaker 1>remember is my mom with the bombfire, were thinking somebody,
<v Speaker 1>we'd all well, p our parents would go to bed
<v Speaker 1>and we'd all still sit out by the bombfire fire
<v Speaker 1>you know, good for the all and stuff aggravating each other.
<v Speaker 1>And then mom told us all to go to bed,
<v Speaker 1>and then she thought she come out to check to
<v Speaker 1>make sure we all went to bed, because uh, some
<v Speaker 1>of us slept in the in the cabin and some
<v Speaker 1>of us slept and my parents had a big terry RV,
<v Speaker 1>you know, all full behind RV barked in the yard.
<v Speaker 1>So usually the boys all slept in uh RV. And
<v Speaker 1>uh she told us all to go to bed. She
<v Speaker 1>come out to check to make sure, and everybody listened
<v Speaker 1>and they were someone sent by the bombfire. She said,
<v Speaker 1>I told you to get your butt to bed. Now,
<v Speaker 1>get your butt to bed, and she was yelling. My
<v Speaker 1>mom was she was. She wore the pants in the family,
<v Speaker 1>and she had no problem about beating your butt. And
<v Speaker 1>she threatened that night. And she said at that time
<v Speaker 1>when she said get your butt to bed, it stood up.
<v Speaker 1>And said she realized right then, that's not one of
<v Speaker 1>the kids. It's too tall. He'd have to be a
<v Speaker 1>basketball player to be standing up like that. So she
<v Speaker 1>said just kind of backed up, went back in the cabin,
<v Speaker 1>locked the door and told my dad somebody's out there.
<v Speaker 1>My dad told her it was probably honeybears. A honeybear,
<v Speaker 1>you know, r around for food. My mom said, no,
<v Speaker 1>it wasn't no bear. It stood up. So my dad
<v Speaker 1>went out there, but there was nothing out there when
<v Speaker 1>he went out there. But when we come on the weekends,
<v Speaker 1>there'd be twenty thirty people here, you know. And that's
<v Speaker 1>not counting who was at my grandma's. You know. Grandma's
<v Speaker 1>cabin was always full. There was always tents in the backyard,
<v Speaker 1>you know, and m and then on mom and Dad's
<v Speaker 1>cabin would be my dad's side of the family all here,
<v Speaker 1>you know, and mostly campers. Everybody bring their campers. But
<v Speaker 1>there was always a lot of music playing, you know,
<v Speaker 1>people swimming, people fishing, people laughing, cooking. We always ate outside,
<v Speaker 1>you know. I'm we had three picnic tables together, uh
<v Speaker 1>set up together, so it was one big giant long table.
<v Speaker 1>Everybody ate at that table. And I think, I honestly
<v Speaker 1>believe i've the ladamness. I think it's like a tribe.
<v Speaker 1>They see another tribe, you know, and it attracts 'em
<v Speaker 1>like what's that tribe doing, What are they eating? What
<v Speaker 1>are they doing? And I think the smells, the sounds
<v Speaker 1>all all. I think that attracts them because it seemed
<v Speaker 1>like when we were having stuff, you know, it's when
<v Speaker 1>at night something would happen, big weekend like I don't
<v Speaker 1>know if I've told you the story about my cousin
<v Speaker 1>coming late at night and everybody was already in bed,
<v Speaker 1>and they were getting their bed ready to had a
<v Speaker 1>Ford pick up and had piece of plywood across the
<v Speaker 1>back to make a bed and had a mattress up there.
<v Speaker 1>And she was pregnant, being and pregnant. And he was
<v Speaker 1>a conservationist, so I mean he knew animals he you know,
<v Speaker 1>in the woods, and he didn't said he didn't hear
<v Speaker 1>or see nothing when they pulled up, But he had
<v Speaker 1>his guns in the back of the truck, so he
<v Speaker 1>was moving his stuff out of the back of his
<v Speaker 1>truck so they'd have room to move around back there
<v Speaker 1>to the front, putting his guns behind his seat, and
<v Speaker 1>something pushed their tailgate down on their truck real low.
<v Speaker 1>When she's the Charlotte said, it felt like it went
<v Speaker 1>all the way, and she thought Mike had gotten hurt,
<v Speaker 1>and he thought she'd gotten hurt. That you know, they
<v Speaker 1>both yelled. He yelled for her and she was yelling
<v Speaker 1>for him, and they never did see nothing. But Mike
<v Speaker 1>said he didn't know of anything that would, you know,
<v Speaker 1>do that. And if it was a bear trying to
<v Speaker 1>get in there, it would have kept trying to get
<v Speaker 1>in there. And most brown bears or sugar bears, they're
<v Speaker 1>not aggressive toward people unless you're aggressive towards them. So
<v Speaker 1>I don't know anything else that could do that. I
<v Speaker 1>don't A human couldn't push that down. It would take
<v Speaker 1>a whole group of 'em. And there's no way that
<v Speaker 1>somebody wouldn't see one one somebody, you know, m yuh
<v Speaker 1>you you would have to see a more than one
<v Speaker 1>person running m you know.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, I've heard that several times from interviewing people
<v Speaker 2>on the channel that whatever it was pushed down the
<v Speaker 2>bed of the truck.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it didn't been the tailgate, mm, but it pushed
<v Speaker 1>it all the way down. Yeah, And he thought Charlotte
<v Speaker 1>had fell and hit the tailgate, like fell out of
<v Speaker 1>the truck, right, But it wasn't. It always seemed like
<v Speaker 1>somebody was following you, like, you know, we were teenagers
<v Speaker 1>and we'd walk, we'd walk to the bridge and it'd
<v Speaker 1>be dark, you know, when everywhere we went, we went
<v Speaker 1>without flashlights. If somebody had a flashlight, only one person
<v Speaker 1>did and it was usually one of them to hit
<v Speaker 1>the flashlight while you were you know, walking to make
<v Speaker 1>it work. And uh, it always seemed like somebody was
<v Speaker 1>falling it in the woods next to you, and whatever
<v Speaker 1>it was would stop when you stopped, cause we always
<v Speaker 1>like hear that and we'd stop right you know, but
<v Speaker 1>you wouldn't see anybody, but you'd always hear that extra
<v Speaker 1>step like maybe we'd look in, but you wouldn't see anybody,
<v Speaker 1>and nothing would follow you. No deer is gonna follow you,
<v Speaker 1>you know. We didn't have any dogs with us. We
<v Speaker 1>hadn't known that the dog was over there, and they
<v Speaker 1>would have been with us, walking by us, not in
<v Speaker 1>the woods. I don't know of any other animal that
<v Speaker 1>would follow you.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, and that happened more than once.
<v Speaker 1>Oh uh, every time you'd walk down to the bridge
<v Speaker 1>and back, you know, which we did a lot for,
<v Speaker 1>you know, because we were teenagers. Do want to sit
<v Speaker 1>there with mom and dad? You know, so are we
<v Speaker 1>were sneaking beer or you know something, or we'd go
<v Speaker 1>to the bridges and we'd go to the big rocks
<v Speaker 1>and have our own bonfire down there and stuff like that.
<v Speaker 1>But it seemed like somebody was always following you, and
<v Speaker 1>it wasn't my mom and dad. They weren't gonna walk
<v Speaker 1>in down woods. They're like me, I won't walk in
<v Speaker 1>them at night because of snakes. You don't never know
<v Speaker 1>what you're gonna step on. I'm more afraid snakes than
<v Speaker 1>I am a bigfoot or anything. So but I don't
<v Speaker 1>think they hurt you. Yeah, I I I think if
<v Speaker 1>maybe enough somewhere else where there are more aggressive, but
<v Speaker 1>down here, I don't know of any that's ever like
<v Speaker 1>charged at anybody. Besides that time it pushed the tailgate down,
<v Speaker 1>you know, I one time. And then when we moved
<v Speaker 1>down here, we uh moved down here. M Dad had
<v Speaker 1>cancer and he was in remission after his treatments, and
<v Speaker 1>they they'd only told Dad like he was gonna live
<v Speaker 1>three or four months, and he wanted to move down here.
<v Speaker 1>So we moved to the cabin, you know, That's what
<v Speaker 1>we moved in. And uh we didn't have a well
<v Speaker 1>yet but electrically have a well or anything. But they
<v Speaker 1>built onto the cabin. Eventually, by the way, Dad lived
<v Speaker 1>ten years after they told him you only had three
<v Speaker 1>months to live. But they built the house and they
<v Speaker 1>kind of put the cabin on the back side. Well,
<v Speaker 1>my bedroom was what used to be the kitchen, and
<v Speaker 1>it was built up, you know, like the cabin was
<v Speaker 1>so that, uh, because of the water. And I kept
<v Speaker 1>telling Dad, somebody's looking in my window. And there was
<v Speaker 1>guy that lived way down the roadway past the bridge.
<v Speaker 1>I said, I think that strange guy's looking in my
<v Speaker 1>window at night. So my dad said, well, next time
<v Speaker 1>it happens, you know, roll off the bed and crawl
<v Speaker 1>my room. Don't stand up up, you know, just and
<v Speaker 1>I did that, said come and get me and I'll
<v Speaker 1>go back in there. Well, my dad had his pistol
<v Speaker 1>and he went in there and he's seen it too,
<v Speaker 1>and he shot through the window at it. We didn't
<v Speaker 1>find any blood or anything. And I think my dad
<v Speaker 1>knew it wasn't a person because the window was too
<v Speaker 1>high up off the ground. No way, it was a
<v Speaker 1>person that had to be standing on the ladder to
<v Speaker 1>look in the window. His window was eight foot off
<v Speaker 1>the ground, you know, the fourfoot that it was built up.
<v Speaker 1>And then a window doesn't sit on a house you've
<v Speaker 1>got so much room before the window filey four foot,
<v Speaker 1>so it would have to be an eight foot tall yeah,
<v Speaker 1>looking in that window. And it was not like my
<v Speaker 1>dad did damage anything on his house. You know, he's
<v Speaker 1>very protective over his property and it's his scenes, his
<v Speaker 1>pro you know, personal items he wouldn't have but whatever
<v Speaker 1>it was, And I don't think he would have shot
<v Speaker 1>at a person. Yeah, he mighta shot to scare him,
<v Speaker 1>but he wouldn't have shot through the window at a person.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>So at this point they're figuring out that someone or
<v Speaker 2>something is harassing them and something is it's not.
<v Speaker 1>Right fixed on that cabin. Yeah, yeah, And you know
<v Speaker 1>there were other incidents like, well, my cousin was crippled
<v Speaker 1>had in uh uh muscular dystrophy, so you know he
<v Speaker 1>didn't have no leg strength or they didn't work. And uh.
<v Speaker 1>Once Chris laid down, he was generally laying down for
<v Speaker 1>the night, and his bed was over by a window
<v Speaker 1>in the bedroom in the cabin, and uh, he kept saying,
<v Speaker 1>Uncle Floyd, Uncle Floyd, somebody's looking in my window. And
<v Speaker 1>my dad said, Chris, do you know how tall they'd
<v Speaker 1>have to be to be looking in the window directly
<v Speaker 1>at you? And Chris si kept, you know. My dad's
<v Speaker 1>like man, you know. And when Chris kept saying, Uncle Floyd,
<v Speaker 1>there is someone looking in my window, Please help me,
<v Speaker 1>cause he couldn't get up and run, You couldn't get up, move.
<v Speaker 1>Chris was terrified. My dad got up and when he
<v Speaker 1>turned the light on, whatever it was moved out where
<v Speaker 1>you couldn't see it, might, you know. And by then
<v Speaker 1>we're all screaming again. Yeah, everybody's jumping up locking their window,
<v Speaker 1>you know.
<v Speaker 3>So.
<v Speaker 1>But Chris was probably in his twenties, so it's not
<v Speaker 1>like a little kid saying, Uncle Floyd, there's somebody looking
<v Speaker 1>at my window, you know. So by then we all knew.
<v Speaker 1>We called it the momo. The momo's out there, you know.
<v Speaker 1>That's the momo looking in the window. We all called
<v Speaker 1>it the Momo. My mom went out on the screened
<v Speaker 1>in porch one night. My aunt and uncle had their
<v Speaker 1>camper out there. They were staying in for the weekend,
<v Speaker 1>and my mom seeing Bigfoot looking in my aunt and
<v Speaker 1>uncle's camper, and she said it was a bit over
<v Speaker 1>looking in the window, and she called him. She said
<v Speaker 1>his whole back looked silver, the way the moon was
<v Speaker 1>shining on him in the light. She said he looked silver,
<v Speaker 1>and she called him the silver Man.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>My mom seen him a lot and smelt him a locked, so.
<v Speaker 2>She's seen the creature more than once.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and smelt him.
<v Speaker 2>Your encounter or your mom's encounter, is the first time
<v Speaker 2>I've heard someone mention the description. Because the sasquatch that
<v Speaker 2>I seen, he was a jet black, but on his
<v Speaker 2>back he had these two whitish gray stripes going down
<v Speaker 2>his back, and it reminded me like of a skunk
<v Speaker 2>or a lemur.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, she said it looked silver on his back. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>you know, not his arms.
<v Speaker 3>But it was black and it had silver on its back.
<v Speaker 1>She set his back, his whole back looked looked silver. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>with the light shining on him. But she said he
<v Speaker 1>was bent over looking in that camper. We were trying
<v Speaker 1>to figure out one day about how tall would something
<v Speaker 1>have to be to be bent over looking at a
<v Speaker 1>camper window?
<v Speaker 3>How high up was the window?
<v Speaker 1>Well, you know, like a normal camper, not like that
<v Speaker 1>one because it's it's taller, Okay, but take like the ambulance,
<v Speaker 1>that'd be about the height of an older camper, you
<v Speaker 1>know with the crank out windows. Because you figure they're
<v Speaker 1>on wheels and then they're tall enough to stand in.
<v Speaker 2>Probably like ten foot of one foot creature, if not more,
<v Speaker 2>bunched over looking.
<v Speaker 1>Looking in the window. And she said it was bent
<v Speaker 1>looking in that window.
<v Speaker 2>So did she describe what the face looked like?
<v Speaker 1>It was its back. She couldn't see it, you know,
<v Speaker 1>when she's seen it. She went back in the cabin
<v Speaker 1>and shut the door.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, no, Blamer was scared. So it was nighttime, like
<v Speaker 2>the moon was shyron.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, she said, the way the light was hitting its back. Wow,
<v Speaker 1>it looks sober. But now up, I'm seventy two. I
<v Speaker 1>had a f in that lived up there, you know
<v Speaker 1>the white churches up on seventy two. There's a cemetery
<v Speaker 1>across from that church. But they lived right before that
<v Speaker 1>church on your left. And she said that they've seen
<v Speaker 1>it a lot out by their barn, and mister Sweeney
<v Speaker 1>had talked to my dad about it. Their last name
<v Speaker 1>was Sweeney, and he had talked to my dad about
<v Speaker 1>seeing it. And they raised all their own vegetables in
<v Speaker 1>their garden, and he he had talked to my dad
<v Speaker 1>about it. You know. Of course, they didn't call bigfoot.
<v Speaker 1>They just said it was momo out there in everything.

<v Speaker 1>do you feel creep creeped out? And he said kind of, yeah,

<v Speaker 1>been there for a half hour, and you could see
<v Speaker 1>the arm on the tree, you know, but you couldn't.
<v Speaker 1>It never did stand up, you know, but it was
<v Speaker 1>still halfway up the tree. And uh, he wanted to leave,
<v Speaker 1>and I said, well, it's not bothering us, it's just
<v Speaker 1>watching us. Maybe it's trying to see if we're gonna
<v Speaker 1>catch fish and leave them or you know, I don't know,
<v Speaker 1>or clean your fish and leave the guts in the heads,
<v Speaker 1>you know, because my dad used to do that a lot.
<v Speaker 1>He'd take and clean down by the creek and throw
<v Speaker 1>the stuff in the creek and say the turtles would

<v Speaker 2>trying to peak their curiosity when they see you pull
<v Speaker 2>fish out of the river if you're cooking them right.

<v Speaker 1>attracted when my dad was alive, because he'd clean his
<v Speaker 1>fish and he fished every day. Yeah, we're always catching fish, everybody. Yeah,

<v Speaker 1>was catching fish. We're on the Saint Francis River. I
<v Speaker 1>was out there on that big rock behind Adams and
<v Speaker 1>that's when we lived there, and me and him were

<v Speaker 1>river one after another, and I told him, what is that?
<v Speaker 1>The head wasn't shaped like a deer, you know what
<v Speaker 1>is that? It was just like a head and shoulders.

<v Speaker 1>because of the trees and the crap all hanging over.

<v Speaker 1>s so covered so that she couldn't smell anything standing
<v Speaker 1>outside her window, and she couldn't see anything outside her window. Now,
<v Speaker 1>she had a black lab that was highly protective of
<v Speaker 1>my mom, you know, and she heard something out there,
<v Speaker 1>and she let the dog out, and then she went
<v Speaker 1>out and stood on the porch right at the steps,
<v Speaker 1>and she said she could smell that smell. And when
<v Speaker 1>she noticed the dog was backing up, growling, backing up, growling,
<v Speaker 1>not you know, like going forward and being aggressive like
<v Speaker 1>don't come here, but was backing up, going backwards up
<v Speaker 1>the steps. She knew it's out there, and she ran
<v Speaker 1>back in the house with the dog. But she said
<v Speaker 1>that she was you know, she could smell it outside,
<v Speaker 1>and like she wouldn't pull the curtain back. She said,
<v Speaker 1>it was like it wanted her to look. That's how
<v Speaker 1>she felt like it can't see me because of the
<v Speaker 1>thick curtains and drapes, cause she had a shade, she
<v Speaker 1>had a set of curtains, she had a set of drapes,
<v Speaker 1>you know, so nothing she couldn't see nothing, nothing good
<v Speaker 1>see in her room. And she said she always felt
<v Speaker 1>like it was standing there like testing her, are you
<v Speaker 1>gonna look? Maybe it could sense she was right there,
<v Speaker 1>you know, maybe it could sense that. But Mom didn't
<v Speaker 1>do a lot of like come outside at night after
<v Speaker 1>my dad passed away. You know, she didn't come outside
<v Speaker 1>a whole lot. So she would come and go, but
<v Speaker 1>she wouldn't hang out outside if the kids, like if
<v Speaker 1>when the kids were little, if they were here, they
<v Speaker 1>would set up beds on the deck and sleep outside
<v Speaker 1>on the deck, you know. But if the kids weren't here,
<v Speaker 1>she wouldn't. She wouldn't go out there by hers.

<v Speaker 1>hear a baby crying and he wanted to make sure
<v Speaker 1>that somebody hadn't left the kid down there, and you know, like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>somebody had mind it. You know, we're close enough to
<v Speaker 1>where those cabins are. And he said he could hear
<v Speaker 1>it and he went down there and it must have
<v Speaker 1>been baiting him to come down there. But my mom
<v Speaker 1>said when he hit that backdory about knocked it down, Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>trying to get in.
<v Speaker 2>So that was the creature was making the baby crying.
<v Speaker 1>That's yeah, there was no baby down there.
<v Speaker 2>So if someone hears a baby crying out in the world, oh.

<v Speaker 1>coming back because she was running. But yeah, Mom didn't
<v Speaker 1>trot around here too much at night.

<v Speaker 1>not too long ago. H One night, I was babysitting
<v Speaker 1>the kids and I had the door locked, and Dad
<v Speaker 1>was asleep, and the kids were all asleep and shoving
<v Speaker 1>them weren't home yet, I had their kids. And I
<v Speaker 1>heard the door click click, click click, because you pull
<v Speaker 1>on it, you know, click click click, like somebody was
<v Speaker 1>trying to open it, and I thought it was them,
<v Speaker 1>and I said, in a minute, you know, I'm coming.
<v Speaker 1>Because I was laying on bed watching TV. I said
<v Speaker 1>I'm coming. I got up, went to the door, I
<v Speaker 1>swung it open, you know, just opened it up, thinking
<v Speaker 1>they were out there. And I looked, nobody was out there,
<v Speaker 1>and I said, where are you at. I'm up, you know,
<v Speaker 1>thinking they thought I was asleep and we're just gonna
<v Speaker 1>wait till in the morning. And I was like, I'm up,
<v Speaker 1>and then no one ever answered me. So I shut
<v Speaker 1>the door and I called them and I said, where
<v Speaker 1>are you at, thinking they'd either gone in their house,
<v Speaker 1>you know, or they were walking outside somewhere, and they said, uh,
<v Speaker 1>we're just now leaving. We'll be home in about five minutes.
<v Speaker 1>I said, oh God, some of something tried to open
<v Speaker 1>the door, and I thought it was you guys. So
<v Speaker 1>that's happened. And then one night we both heard it,
<v Speaker 1>somebody trying to open the We were parked on this side,
<v Speaker 1>on the grandma's side. The camp or RV was parked
<v Speaker 1>over there, and something kept jiggling the door handles. Dad
<v Speaker 1>would look, I would look, nothing out there.
<v Speaker 2>Sounds like it's the same thing that was around when
<v Speaker 2>you were a little kid.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's I I think there's something about like I said,
<v Speaker 1>I said personally, in my own opinion, I think they
<v Speaker 1>visualized this family as a tribe, you know, like they're
<v Speaker 1>a tribe. The Indians were a tribe. They say they've
<v Speaker 1>been around since the Native Americans used to write about
<v Speaker 1>them or draw about them. So I think I think
<v Speaker 1>they are familiar with this family.
<v Speaker 2>Why do you think they're messing with you? Like, what's

<v Speaker 1>deep frosted, and she had cabbage and tomatoes on the table.

<v Speaker 1>was gone. So she said, somebody come in there and
<v Speaker 1>stole my damn food. They didn't get an icebox, but
<v Speaker 1>they took what I had on the table and on
<v Speaker 1>the counter.

<v Speaker 1>Said yeah, so the back door wasn't locked, which was
<v Speaker 1>French doors, and they never stuck it very well anyway,
<v Speaker 1>because they had that you had to side to lock
<v Speaker 1>down in the floor on the top and on the bottom.
<v Speaker 1>So if you pushed hard enough, they came open because
<v Speaker 1>the door handled the lock or the door ha hat

<v Speaker 1>The last you know, would if you pushed on, both
<v Speaker 1>doors would just come open. If those scenes weren't locked right,
<v Speaker 1>so well, something could just push on 'em and go
<v Speaker 1>in m And I said, they didn't take nothing out
<v Speaker 1>of the ice box of the cabinets, Nope, just what
<v Speaker 1>I had on the counter and on the table and
<v Speaker 1>a bowl. They took a bowl. H And she had
<v Speaker 1>a bowl on the table that the fruit was. The
<v Speaker 1>tomatoes were.
<v Speaker 2>In okay, So they took the bowl with the tomatoes
<v Speaker 2>right all right, Now.
<v Speaker 1>If you're a thief and you're coming in to steal food,
<v Speaker 1>when you look in the ice box and take food
<v Speaker 1>out of there, or the freezer or the cann goods
<v Speaker 1>or why would you just take what you can smell
<v Speaker 1>sitting out. So yeah, that's when Tim had to go
<v Speaker 1>over him put better locks on the back door. Yeah.

<v Speaker 1>side of the camper. We both felt it and heard it,

<v Speaker 1>But it hit hard, It hit hard, and then the
<v Speaker 1>next day there was a big handprint on it. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>but I've also felt that and heard that. He goes
<v Speaker 1>to sleep by nine thirty he's asleep, he's out, and
<v Speaker 1>I'll be awake, you know, one two in the morning
<v Speaker 1>watching TV. I don't rest very good, and I've I've
<v Speaker 1>felt the camper go like that, you know, or heard stuff.
<v Speaker 1>But I'm kind of like my mom. I ain't looking. Yeah,

<v Speaker 1>i'd say, let's go look, you know. And I've asked
<v Speaker 1>him that before, let's go look, and he's told me.

<v Speaker 1>maybe they like it the trailer or the RV, or

<v Speaker 1>heard a little puppy talking parking down in the wood. No,
<v Speaker 1>what do you think, Well, we'll find that little puppy.

<v Speaker 1>s that side of Shelby's trailer and the weeds?

<v Speaker 1>myself over here and I could hear growling and I

<v Speaker 1>that our old camper or the RVV where I called
<v Speaker 1>Shelby And I never say come and get me. I'm scared,
<v Speaker 1>come and get me, you know. But I did call
<v Speaker 1>Shelby that night and say come and get me now
<v Speaker 1>when I was highly upset. And he got to the
<v Speaker 1>back door and he opened the back door. When I
<v Speaker 1>seen that back door open, because they had they locked
<v Speaker 1>their door at night, so I knew if I ran
<v Speaker 1>over there, I couldn't get in. When I seen that
<v Speaker 1>door swing open, I ran. I didn't even wait for
<v Speaker 1>Shelby to get there, you know. I just took off,
<v Speaker 1>and Shelby's like, what w what?

<v Speaker 1>I said, there's something over there, Kat? And I said
<v Speaker 1>there is something over there behind that camper, you know.
<v Speaker 1>But I never said anything as Shelby about seeing the
<v Speaker 1>red eyes because he's gonna know it now. But I
<v Speaker 1>didn't wanna scare him and the kids, right, And that's
<v Speaker 1>the end his house. The end of the house is
<v Speaker 1>where my mom smelt it and seen it.

<v Speaker 1>You know, Mom said she's seen it at the end
<v Speaker 1>of that road over there, looking, you know, just standing
<v Speaker 1>there looking towards the house. You know, she's my mom's
<v Speaker 1>seen it way more than anybody. But I think she
<v Speaker 1>was a more alert than the rest of us, more
<v Speaker 1>alert than like where we'd walk in we' say, eh,
<v Speaker 1>what's that smell? You know, get the air pressure and
<v Speaker 1>start spraying it or looking for the smell. My mom
<v Speaker 1>knew exactly what the smell was, and it was outside,
<v Speaker 1>you know. None of those knew that. But I didn't
<v Speaker 1>want them to be in fear of their kids, cause
<v Speaker 1>I don't think their kids are in any danger.

<v Speaker 1>I mean, they're so watchful of them anyway. If they're outside,
<v Speaker 1>somebody's outside with them, yeah, you know, And I don't
<v Speaker 1>I think they're they're safe in their house, yeah you know.
<v Speaker 1>But I I didn't like that. That that bothered me,
<v Speaker 1>and it scared me, and I ask God, I don't
<v Speaker 1>wanna see that now. People say that's bigfoot. That's what
<v Speaker 1>his eyes look like at night. They s you know, Oh,

<v Speaker 1>there was something looking in my window, I was afraid.

<v Speaker 1>was gonna hurt 'em or hurt his wife, you know.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, I could see where people be terrified. But
<v Speaker 1>I think I think whatever's around here is more uh

<v Speaker 1>coyotes would start yelping. But it was the same howl

<v Speaker 1>think it's across the creek where there's less, less houses,
<v Speaker 1>less people, more farmland in woods. And I told them
<v Speaker 1>they should talk to the neighbor about going back on
<v Speaker 1>the back side of her property, more towards the bottom
<v Speaker 1>of the mountain and and do a search or research
<v Speaker 1>over there, because I think whatever comes here crosses, and
<v Speaker 1>then when we hear it or see it, it's going back,
<v Speaker 1>you know, like when we me and Tim seen it
<v Speaker 1>and it went across the creek, if it was that
<v Speaker 1>way or that way, you know, I needed to go.

<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I think, well, there's less people. You know, there's
<v Speaker 1>more houses on this road that have been built in

<v Speaker 2>They're looking for food over here, trash, cans, deer, turkey.

<v Speaker 1>They go back that way, fish, people growing vegetables, people
<v Speaker 1>having chicken houses more down that way.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, you know, and there is deep woods over there.
<v Speaker 1>Right, And there's a mountain with hogs over there, so
<v Speaker 1>I mean there's people going back in there and shooting
<v Speaker 1>hogs wild boar, so wild boars, not regular hogs. But
<v Speaker 1>and there is so mean looking and tusk sticking out.
<v Speaker 1>But I think they live over there.
<v Speaker 3>I like so too when we hear stuff it's that way.

<v Speaker 1>curiosity or being hunger or wanting to know, you know,

<v Speaker 1>years ago. She was camped over here and she was
<v Speaker 1>in a pop up, a pop up camper, and then
<v Speaker 1>my other cousins had tents over there and she heard
<v Speaker 1>the you know, the heavy breathing and the growling and
<v Speaker 1>something big being over shadowing over her pop up and
<v Speaker 1>she was terrified. And you know, she's never camped in
<v Speaker 1>the backyard after that. And when she came, she camped
<v Speaker 1>in the front. And she loved camping in the back
<v Speaker 1>because they'd have their big bonfire back here. You know,
<v Speaker 1>Well when you quit doing that because she was scared.
<v Speaker 1>You know, she's in the front, and when they'd come
<v Speaker 1>back here to see the bonfire or whatever, but they
<v Speaker 1>got to go back up there to go to bed,

<v Speaker 2>I've heard him whoop one time when I camped here.
<v Speaker 2>It's probably like midnight they whoop. But they're on that

<v Speaker 2>deep Mark Twain forests and right state parks that are

<v Speaker 1>Well, she's got a lot of property over there, and

<v Speaker 1>Like my brother when he used to deer hunt, he'd

<v Speaker 1>with permission or permission, he'd go up there and he'd hunt.

<v Speaker 1>so you know, there's there's food up there, so they
<v Speaker 1>certainly have the means to survive, and there's no people

<v Speaker 2>rock on rock. Yeah, it doesn't sound like a beaver.

<v Speaker 1>telling him over that way, over that way, Uh you know,
<v Speaker 1>but you can hear it clink clink, clan clink, just
<v Speaker 1>like tapping. Wow, you know, but probably get your attention.
<v Speaker 1>All the kids were swimming.
<v Speaker 2>Selby told me a story where I think he was
<v Speaker 2>shooting a shotgun or maybe he saw one. I can't
<v Speaker 2>I remember exactly how it went, but he was when
<v Speaker 2>he shot the shotgun, this thing tore through the woods
<v Speaker 2>and it was screaming like a woman.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. Whoa. Well, we was out here one night bout
<v Speaker 1>the bonfire and we heard a how made the hair
<v Speaker 1>on the back of your neck? Stand up. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>we was just about knocking each other over getting to
<v Speaker 1>the cabin door, and we was explaining to my dad
<v Speaker 1>what we heard. And it sounded like it was right there.
<v Speaker 1>I was the glow of the light where you couldn't see,
<v Speaker 1>you know, like the glow of the bonfire, where you
<v Speaker 1>couldn't see around the edges, you know, And it sounded
<v Speaker 1>like it was right there, not across the creek or
<v Speaker 1>in the woods. Sounded like it was right there, like
<v Speaker 1>behind us, like right behind us. And uh, my dad said, oh,
<v Speaker 1>that's a panther. But I've heard panthers scream, and they
<v Speaker 1>sound like a woman being killed. They scream. It sounds
<v Speaker 1>like a woman, you know, screaming.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, they got some wicked sounds.
<v Speaker 1>And that's that. That was more like a a howl
<v Speaker 1>than something prettyistoric a woman screaming. Yeah, it was wow.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, because for sure, like owls, foxes, bobcats, mountain lions,
<v Speaker 2>they got some wicked sounds, no doubt.
<v Speaker 3>But these things, it's like NX level.
<v Speaker 1>And I've heard the loons, the cranes, I know what
<v Speaker 1>they sound like, you know, I know what a panther
<v Speaker 1>sounds like. I've heard a panther scream before. I've heard bobcats,
<v Speaker 1>but you know, yeah, I've heard foxes.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, foxes can sound like evil witches. But this was
<v Speaker 3>something huge.
<v Speaker 1>It was Yeah, it was not and it was right there.
<v Speaker 1>M hm. It was not a mountain lion or panther,
<v Speaker 1>you know now, it wasn't and whatever it was with
<v Speaker 1>dark because we couldn't see it in the dark.

<v Speaker 2>I know people have found arrowheads around here. You talked

<v Speaker 1>Drum I've heard. I've heard drumming like Native American drumming. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>that's like been a thing that's happened for long, long,
<v Speaker 1>many years hearing the drumming, but it sounds like Native
<v Speaker 1>American drumming, like you would go to a pow wow
<v Speaker 1>and you would hear the drumming, you know.

<v Speaker 2>Theories could be an unknown creature.
<v Speaker 1>And like I said, the orbs, you know.
<v Speaker 2>That's been seen out here too, the right, Okay, strange
<v Speaker 2>crafts in the skies yeah UFOs.
<v Speaker 1>Well, oh, that was one thing we used to do
<v Speaker 1>when we were teenagers. We would go down to that
<v Speaker 1>low water bridge because there was less trees, lay on
<v Speaker 1>the bridge and look for the UFOs.
<v Speaker 3>You know, so you guys are seeing that stuff we

<v Speaker 1>You know my cousin has said he's seen ghost light
<v Speaker 1>in the woods, just the light coming through the woods
<v Speaker 1>with no explanation. And he said the next day he's
<v Speaker 1>walked where he's seen that light, like, is it another
<v Speaker 1>house I haven't noticed? You know, is there a a pole,
<v Speaker 1>barn or something that that lights right?
<v Speaker 3>Like? Someone walk in the woods.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, he's and he's walked at and has not found
<v Speaker 1>where those lights came from. We've seen that more than once.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, okay, the woods going. Yeah, I can definitely see
<v Speaker 2>why Adams really into the and he's trying to figure
<v Speaker 2>it out. He's heard stories from your mom and dad,
<v Speaker 2>from you guys, his parents.
<v Speaker 1>And and I'm sure if my parents or my grandparents,
<v Speaker 1>my at and uncles.
<v Speaker 3>They'd have more stories alive.
<v Speaker 1>They'd have a lot of stories because they probably didn't

<v Speaker 3>Yeah, they probably didn't tell you guys the most.

<v Speaker 1>us glued to them. Yeah, you know, they wanted us

<v Speaker 2>sure there's stuff there has to be they didn't tell us.

<v Speaker 1>we don't tell the little ones stuff that's going to
<v Speaker 1>keep them up or make them afraid to do anything.

<v Speaker 1>Right, and stuff my parents, you know, did not tell
<v Speaker 1>us for our own good.
<v Speaker 2>By the way, little girl, when you're asleep last night,
<v Speaker 2>a huge creature was looking.
<v Speaker 1>To something sticking his hand through the window.
<v Speaker 3>Most likely they're like, we can't tell the kids.
<v Speaker 2>Don't tell the kids, you'll steal them.

<v Speaker 1>We used to put the fan in the window because
<v Speaker 1>there was no air in the cabin, and we'd put
<v Speaker 1>the fan in the window, you know, and have that
<v Speaker 1>old metal fag vibrating in the window. And at night,
<v Speaker 1>my dad would always say, take that fan out of
<v Speaker 1>the window. I can't sleep with that racket, you know,
<v Speaker 1>or it'll pull in too much. We air, But the
<v Speaker 1>window always got closed at night.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, close the windows and shut off the fans so
<v Speaker 2>I can hear something comes up.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, that's scary, all right.
