appreciate you han't like you.
Said the order store.
Before we get to your orgers, Man, let's talk about
how y'all linked up for the first time.
Man, I let him go first, and I can tell first.
The one thing I remember the most is that he's
the most probably my funniest, if not second funniest teammate
I've ever played with, because we played on a team
where it was a year that I think we were.
We were up and down that year, like in the
beginning to movid COVID, like it was going on. There
was no such thing as like, man, there was no
such thing as anything going on. Stands like all we
could do is freaking kicking a k walks and just vibe. Yeah,
And that's how you know the Celtics back then it was.
It was an interesting hustle. Me and Jet always think
about the story.
One of the best stories I got is that I
remember I was both going to Brad and be like, hey, man,
just don't play us, because like we had it was me, him,
Shimmy and Peyton Pritchard and Brad was just like Kimber
just came back and Brad was trying to figure out
like what lineups. You know, Brad wasn't the type of
person to like like ever confront nobody, trying to like
let it happen, you know, just coaches handled so like
it got to a point where we were just every
every single thing we do, we have to look over
our shoulder. We're like, all right, just choose one. Let's
like the one person go and see what happens. And
I remember me and Jet was just like, yo, just
let choose them, because.
Bro, you so young. I hate the old head with
no knees. You we're trying to don't sacrifice your plans off.
Of Here's what happened was like I had just played
that last year and we went to the playoffs, coping finals,
all this stuff in the bubble. So I came in
made on some bs like I was. I was tripping
that year. Coming to preseason kind of felt like I
had established so then I kind of had to earn
it back. So I was like, let me just hoop
and stay ready, like let me show y'all what I
got was, you know, go back and forth.
I was crazy back then too, So I was wild,
and coaches.
Out, every everybody was wild. Heard it was a bad year.
It was a bad year.
So like I was just telling him. I was like, yo,
like just choose, let shom me play because Simmy looking
over his shoulder every.
Shot he missed versus me.
And like at the time, they didn't tell me this
until after, but they were like they were trying to
play shemy so they could trade them. Like they just
don't they don't communicate that type of stuff, Like the
thing came from us. We were like, yo, like it's
killing us all. And then you had your Bari on
the bench talking. It was like, hey, just.
Bage your time, young fellas, bag of time.
It was crazy health order story.
Man.
Let's get to yours though. Man, obviously from Texas, move
to Carolina. Excuse me, North Carolina. What's the like playing
for the Hornets man and growing up as a Carolina kid.
It's great because I grew up like I'm from Charlotte too.
Like it's like I grew up watching Kywalk in the
Bobcast j Augustine and Anderson Tory mcgetty Tory's Jersey's Nasty.
Seven seven Wins.
So like I got friends, like we remember bringing back
the buzz back in what was it twenty sixteen when
the Hornets even came back.
Yeah, like it's cool.
To be on the roster and like impact winning to
a point where like you got a chance to one
make the playoffs, to be on a team that, like
Sean ain't never seen the type of success that we've
had yet, like we, I think, other than nineteen ninety eight,
and that's before any of us when I was born.
So damn, yeah, make your niggas feel old, but facts.
So then.
Sot out, Yeah, we got nine nine winning, nine game
winning street like we winning the most games on the road.
So every friend that I know growing up in the
city is like, yo, they're hype. Yeah, you got more
fans in the arena than I think I've seen growing up.
So the place to be around right now, it's a
gold mine waiting to be struck. I always said in Charlotte.
So it said that two years ago, even when I
was talking crap to d White, trying to tell him
he was making the playoffs two years ago.
Just saying it happened, yeh, but but now we got
actual chance.
So y'all doing really good.
Bro.
Don't really believe in y'all, But me and DJ are
always st Bro, Like, how do you feel about like
LaMelo not making the All Stary.
Bro, I'm a little sick just because like his stats
might not show it, just because you know, it's like
like I feel like he's not making like all the
shots right now to the point where like his stats
are like forty from three something like that. But like
our offense runs through and with him, like we see
our on off numbers with him in the court, he
impacts are winning to a level that you know, it's
hard to hard to compare anyone across the league, like
in terms of playmaking, like he a guy that sets
up our entire roster, like Brandon thinks our leading score
right now for a reason, uh Con is able to
get the shots. He's able to because like Mellow creates
that gravity getting downhill, kicking out shooters and we just
played fast man like shoot a lot of threes, and
Mellow honestly deserve I think that All Star not because
they put it's just the format this year man the
US world like they could do it.
I love that you might get a job.
What you do.
Yea more upset than.
Especially with how we were playing towards the All Star break, like,
I know we didn't start great like we were four
or fourteen, but we were injured, Like there's a lot
of things going on. Like once we got a healthy roster,
you start seeing the success of our team and like, yeah,
it was so well put together honestly by JP did
a great Jeff Peterson yeah, yeah, my god job of
you know, building the building a group around one another.
So I think DIP had a great job of like
making that all start nine. I think next year we
don't have to two maybe three All Stars, depending on
how we start the season.
Especially with came on like game Busters. Bro, he nice
Jeff look, and we think, but I.
Think he's Rookie of the Year.
It's my vote, all this saying from the beginning of
it is going to be in the co Rookie of
the Year I hope, so so he deserves it's gonna.
Be and uh Grant Hill type you know.
Like yeah, they think it's gonna be though, you think
the bro think Cooper going way.
Like he's bro he is damn near a fifty forty
ninety season, crazy bro one of the efficient, most efficient
rookie season. I think NBA history already broke the single
season rookie record. Yeah, he's crazy, like fastest two hundred
three or sorry, maybe hasn't broken it, be about to
break it. And then fastest rookie to two hundred three,
fastest player to two hundred threes exactly. It's just it's
in Washington, played basketball like there's not many guys that
you play with your like, yo, every shot you feel.
Is going in, Like he's on that level already, kid.
And it's funny because that draft last year, they questioned
the VJ pick. They kind of was just like maybe
a little bit hot, but both of them players have
showed that no, they ready to hoop for sure, you
super well, Yeah, it's one of my favorite players in
the league. May just so efficient that I had that
draft day thing when he had his workout. You know
remember the movie where it's like Vantem no matter what
to our assistant GM right during his workout, Vonte no
matter what. Because I felt like it was either between
him or VJ at that pick. Philly didn't pick, just
get one of the other. I picked a good pick.
Be he lamelow my top all time already we are, Yeah,
I love them. Basketball needs a mellow ball bro.
Players like that like it's a creative, creative mind like
play fast, loose pause. He just he just has a
he has a good feel for the game. Like there's
not many people like that see ahead like he does.
So he does a good job putting teammates in positions
to be successful. And I think he honestly compliments every
single person on the roster.
He got da now, yeah, you got it all.
Yeah, I'll be texting you know, I.
Got a little more to show over.
There sometimes hall of a breakdown for sure.
Gread Man, like you said, Carolina, y'all a you team boy,
that te C three squad, j oh he had my
daughter j Squidty Harey Giles. We talked about him early
in the morning, so I know, injuries kind of changed it.
If you saw Harry girls in high school here g
ones brog.
Was the best player in the class for a reason.
He was over j t he was, he was over
Josh Jackson was consensus number one. But uh hg like
if you have his knee surgeries, like it's hard to
imagine he wouldn't be a Christal whatever type of player,
like he was special they played with and then also
like just to watch I played against him he played
Wesleyan back in high school, said that was my like
I played against him and Bam those were my my
Matthews high school. So like playing those guys.
Did you give them work? Yeah?
I be Bam in the state championship, blew him by
by twenty. I always joke with Bam, this where messed
me up. My rookie year, said, man, you haven't beat
me much. Beat him in Tennessee, beat him at beat him.
High school Grays always called me BAM's kryptonite. And then
that rookie year playing in the bubble, I think I
think I had a record where I was like two
or three games ahead of him. And after they be
us in the bubble for the go to the finals,
he said, I think him up now shout get back,
got get back and saying ship nowadays to beat me
even the last the last finals run too.
Damna. We're gonna talk about that man. But now, what
was that like?
Though?
Did you face any other crazy teams? Because I had
the squad and you had a crazy.
On that My gosh, ro Wise, I was like, honestly,
I don't think. I don't know if I started on
that team. I think I was behind Q like sometimes
because we had that team was loaded.
Yeah. Sure.
Walter Gilbert, who was the top five star point guard
in time, he just had thunder surgery, so he was hurt.
He's from from the A, so he was nice.
Josha Kogie got j O Darnold Rodgers, the five foot
three member four point.
Guard, so like they got buckets.
Is he's the reason why they be Virginia.
So so then HG myself, Q and peace Jam stories.
We were playing Georgia Stars.
We only had one loss at in ti EYBL season,
so like we were one of the most accomplished EUYBL
teams whatever else there was. We lost to Georgia Stars
by one. Nat Udoka, Wendell Carter, Bruce Brown, Jared Harper,
like a bunch of names. Peace Jam happens. We go,
We don't lose a game. We beat Mo Cann with
Jonathan Isaac, We beat each each one t Johathan Isaac,
mocam of Trey and Michael Porter. Yeah, and then we
get to that semi final. We played j T in
the Eagles Saint Louis. That was back before Brad bil
Elite and we were blowing them out. We were about
like twenty like damn near going to the third fourth quarter,
all of a sudden, altered gets cramps and he's driven
the ball up the court, camp past half court, fell
over like type cramps, Like he was just turned We
turned it over I think six straight times. They get
back into the game.
Dam I couldn't d was coaching though, like John.
John didn't want to take him out because I think
I don't know why Darnella ain't play, But like it
was one of those games where he was like, we're
leave him out there. He like give him some pickle
juice whatever else, like try and let him hook because
we're up by so much.
Peterson, yeah right, I was like.
He's a five star recruit. Was in foul trouble that
game too, I remember because I was. I think I
was either our first or second leader to score in
that game. And what's it called?
Going down?
Turn it over? Turn over? Turn over, turnover?
Like they get back into the game J T J
T hoop And of course and we get to the
end of the game, I score, they come back, score,
come down. Ag gets the ball his shoot He told him,
don't shoot it until we have our last shot.
Win the game.
And she goes too soon, hits the hook right hand
hook or I think left hand whatever's hook. We think
were about to win the game. They called time out.
I get subbed out. They put Ian Boyd in. We're
all on the bench elbow to elbow like we're about to
win this game, up to go to go to the
final and play Georgia Stars again. All of a sudden
they inbound the ball. We took j t away. I
want to forget to do his name Jordan Gilbert Jordan'
something or was a full court double clutch at the
buzzer heave game. Damn that was that story. They ended
up freaking losing by thirty the Georgia Stars. After that,
we were so checked out. The rest of the season
with the Vegas was just having a good time for
the Bobs at seventeen years old.
That ain't bad foot all right, man, conversation good. We
have some drinks from Barbie Works tonight.
Manb.
I lost some pod.
I want are we having a name?
I'm good about you?
Quarterorry about boy from the corner?
Three?
Hey go hold you okay, appreciate your corner three right
on b She's album guests here by the guests here
going to three All right, man obviously killed a high school.
Went to Tennessee. Was some other schools that could have
got you.
Tennessee was the best goal I had. I was a
three star, like I was thinking, I was number two
hundred and something. Last Yeah it was bad.
I was.
I was chunky bro. I was you know, under sized,
big tweeter. So like this is like this is right
around when Draymond was doing his thing. But like like
I like, people are always like, how do you beat
these guys?
I was being bammed.
I was being like Harry, like all these guys that
are like bran higher than me, but they're like this
dude can't jump, like not really a great shooter. You know,
he's post player. And so I remember even Davison, like
I remember calling coach McKillop. He said, I'm not never
gonna give you a scholarship offer. I said, why damn?
He said, because you don't work hard enough. That was
me as a sophomore's year. I was like, I can't
get off by Davidson like I had my best offer.
Was like I have that for sure. Later on, I'll
give him credit. Later on when I went to Tennessee.
We play him. He's like the reason why I said
that to you is because I needed you to work
harder and like I believed in you and we'd have the.
Resources to support you or something that. But like I
think he was so.
Just yeah, yeah, did that motivate you?
Though?
For sure he said motivated.
You know, I grew up in the family that of
hoopers quote unquote, like my cousin's slim start.
Tom was nice zone and first hey forgot God.
One of the hes, the best shooter in college of
them there, remember that his old college all the bucket
he shot better than J. J Riddick that year and
they ain't want to give him a love That nigga
had a burner.
Yeah, it was a big jersey, big short one. I
did work out with him. Yeah, and he only do perfect, perfect, perfect.
You'll be in the gym for two.
Explain that for the people who're not through tap in
ever hit the room or if you don't switch every time,
he don't count it.
I would be any fat person that I as a
young kid, you throw them the ball. You can't jam
up like as a shooter, like he was, like, throw
it outside my body like it was like his workouts
back in the day.
I am be amazed by it.
Bro.
He was We did a workout with him, bro, he
was he was playing for the Hawks, well he used to,
and he was back in the gym and he was like,
you're gonna do the workout with us?
Like yeah, we started to work out.
He's like, don't count shot, another one, don't count, Like
that should count for me.
Then he kept saying no, we only count of the switch.
Bro.
He was in the gym for two hours. Bro.
I was like I'm out, damn. Bro, that's but he
was hitting every shot don't come Like that's crazy.
So slim even Damon. So it was like that's my
other cousin.
And it's like those guys like my pop played Venezuela
but like tried to play for the Houston Bullets and
those guys back in the day. So like this grew
up in that family. So like everybody used to always
trying to be like you gotta score. This was like
all right, like I'm over passer. You know, saw the
game differently. So I offers from like Yale, like Yale Princeton,
all the Ivy.
You've always been a smart one.
So it really came down to those and then Richmond
was the only other one. And then I decided on
Tennessee because I met our strength coach Garrett maiden Wald.
He was like, I can change your body composition, make
you like the best, give you the best chance to
make in the league. And I was like all right,
Like that was my main focus. And then I sold
my moms because my mom worked for NASA. She of
course black that's crazy. Yeah, black Man won her but
wanted me to go to IVY leagues because she knows
how the world of world works. And so I'm telling her.
I was like, I'm going to Tennessee. She ain't talked
to me like a month and a half, two months,
but then I told her. I said, I'm a graduating
in three years, which then I'm an, if I go
back for my fourth year, I'll get my master's. Like
I had this plan that I set out, and I
told her, I said, but also, I'm gonna go for
the NBA. Did what I said, went three years, got
my degree. Yeah, got freaking later year twice two times.
SEC.

called one hundred gambler in Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey

Come on, like, what made you not lead the first year?
Because you wanted to graduate?
So no, first year I wasn't so I was only
freshman team because Malik Monk, I think one freshman of
the year. And Coach Barnes was like, hey, like coach Barnes,
if you know Coach Barnes, he kind of wants his
guys to come back. Yeah, and also like he if
he thinks you should go, he'll try and tell you
to go. So he said, like the reason why you
ain't with freshman year because he didn't work hard enough. So
it was the same thing, like you didn't work hard enough.
Went back that second year and I was like, all right,
Like my goal is to get player of the Year.
And also like cause Barn's like that's you should be.
You should strive for player the year, should try to
be the best player in this conference. So that whole year, though,
I played with an injury. So that whole year I
had like a pureformoist like psyac nerve thing that I
was dealing with that shot down my leg. So played
that whole season even after the year was over, was
dealing with it, like that numbness of my leg, couldn't
like walk sometimes. Like there was a couple of games
that season, like Burner the LSU game, I get foult
in the first half, I landed on my back, couldn't
fill my leg and got subbed out, worked on it
for full half, came back in the second half and played.
So then after that season I was like, damn, I
probably should go. But if I go test a draft
process right now and I'm looking crazy, like you look
damaged goods and then now you have a reputation. So
I just stayed in school and then went back for
that third year and then came out that third even
though cause Barnes wanted to be come back for the
fourth he was, yeah, shouldn't.
It was like playing for a lgendary coach like that.
I know there's a lot of expectations from especially in
the college world.
Yeah, Barnes is crazy, but he's one of the He's
cool for sure. If you has any player to play
for Barnes k like especially like PJ KD, any of
those guys, they'll tell you like I got saved Barnes,
like Barnes was like not cursing like he I got,
like always taking my biggest accomplishment for Barnes and making
him curse twice at me. But like he was completely different,
like he was crazy, Like he made me like I
remember multip times I crying tears, workouts, like running. He
makes you mid over practice, go versus climber three times,
come back in practice every time you mess up and
go back to the versus climber. I'm back, run to seventeen,
another seventeen eighty five, two seventeen.
Like he thought it was a game.
So like it was to a point where like you
had to be so mentally tough for him, playing for him.
If not you you had to go. I got a
lot versas climbers, two times. I'm in the portal coach
second year. Bro, That's what it was. Think about it.
After my freshman year, we didn't make the we didn't
make the postseason. He just do a basket track season.
We touch a basketball spring.
Dang all.
We would wake up, come down the hill, and we'd run.
Was it life that when you went to college? But
when you your first summer.
With him, it was bad, Like you know, like I
was a again.
I had to get your buddy right.
I was in fat camp.
What's for that camp?
Like legit fat camp?
So we had to work out that morning six am,
come in, do a whole workout, then go class, come
back for practice, and do a workout post practice.
So I got a certain weight. I lost thirty pounds
in my first month and a half being there.
Damn you when you went to school like too, I
was like to eighty to sick and I lost weight,
so like I can ever come in. I was like, yeah,
I'm great. G I'm probably thirteen percent body fat. Like
I feel great. All of a sudden I get there,
It's like, nah, you seventeen percent body fat? Dog, you
about two fifty five. I ended up getting the two
twenty five by the end of that summer.
Damn, that's crazy.
Yeah, I ain't bad, boy.
I'm saying so, that's a hell of a life to live.
Boy, it's not fun saying college back about sauyding traumatic
as ship.
Listen, this is all stuff that I can talk about
now because it's overweight. But like even like like we
got to a point we had five AMS and we
had one dude breakout in the hives during the workout
and then we had to cancel it. So he got
rid of five AMS, and that was Kuaate Parker, so
he passed out. We had to wake them up to
continue his work out.
Like it was.
Then lockdown happens because five AMS get away. Lockdown was
every Saturday. If you had late the class or whatever
else it was, you're in trouble six am to ten pm.
You had to be in the gym, no devices, So
you was there working out.
You have five workouts? You really are just there reading.
Like you got did you say at the time, right, yeah,
you say six A.
The ten pm come out on a Saturday portal.
He can't do that. No more.
Snitch somebody snitch. That got all away and we back
five am.
We had.
It was some wild times. But I always tell these
guys it was you got different.
The big boy.
He gotta working for.
Bro.
No devices, no phone, no iPad, no laptop.
No, I hate it here.
That much working out the mother figure like always playing
was though, amro Schofield like like, yeah, now that was
real bookmaking my saraday up like that.
Ain't no such thing as going out that night. Oh no,
yeah he was.
He was still after doing that. It was I probably
had an energy after that for the time doing that.
I've probably been ready for that.
I've been all day.
I'm ready so many times when guys being the lockout together,
lockdown together, so it like eight dudes in lockdown just vibbing.
We locked up.
I probably be ready to hang something that's work out
through nas. Obviously man had a great career, Tendensee. Now
it's time for the draft.
What was that process like for you man, making that
decision the family just that summer.
Yeah, so went to the draft, said I was declaring.
Called coach Bornes from Chicago after combine, I was like, yeah,
I'm not coming back. I had like a decent conversation
and came down to the workouts. My whole thing about
the workhouse was I want to chase the guys who
were projected above me. So I was like, you know what,
like Brandon Clark, like PJ Washington, like all these guys,
these names, they're considered like people are like this guy's old,
this guy's Meanwhile, I'm saying, age's all these guys because
I was young.
I remember Rick.
Carlisle during whenever my meeting with Dallas. They were like,
how do I feel being one of the older players
in the class. I said, actually, I'm like younger than
every junior and sophomore and probably closer to you the
most freshman. He cursed everybody else. You know, Carlisle is
he went crazy. But even the draft process, I was
doing the workouts, chasing those guys around, I'm thinking, like, yo,
I'm killing so I'm gonna definitely go top fifteen top twenty. Meanwhile,
I just realized I brought everybody's drafting value down with me,
Like everybody came down to my area, like Brandon Clark
was supposed to be top right in front of me.
Damn.
During that process, I was like, there's only one chance
I can go on the top like twenty, and I'd
be Orlando at sixteen. And they were like, we have
between you, nikiel who went next? And then a mystery guy.
That mystery guy in being Trumki just came out to
acl that year, who was nice at least in college,
and yep, yeah yeah. And then I was like, okay,
not going to Brooklyn. One of my worst workouts that
I've had in my life. Then I was like, okay,
San Antonio, but they won't draft me at twenty. If
they draft me, it'll be at twenty nine. So then
Luca went Boston. I knew they were trading twenty, so
I was like, I'm not going there. And then twenty
one it was between either Oka See Memphis, like they
had to trade, Okay, See, I would have went, but
then they traded to pick to Memphis, they took Brandon Clark,
so I was like all right.
Cool.
So like I'm not going to Boston because I'm you
know the Boston story about my workout.
Right, No, no, yeah, yeah, thank.
You Boston workout.
So I'm over here like of course, smart kid, I'm
in the workout air Pascal, me, Brandon Clark and we're
over here. Jay larreyneas the coach.
Yeah.
Jay. Tony Dobbins was a video coordinator at the time. Yeah, okay,
So Tony's leading the workout. We get to this four
and four, five and five session. Tony's like at the clipboard.
He's like, yeah, like tink thing about to play the
draw up and he drew up the play and he
had Brandon Clark in the corner and me on a dunker.
I was like, yo, like I kind of touched the clipbo.
I was like you sure you want me and the dunker?
Like you rather have the guy with the lob threat
the dunker and me in the corner because I can
shoot it. He's like, you're right, You're right. So I
took the clipboard, raised it and then he wow. So
then boom that happens.
Play work.
I'm feeling good, you know, I'm confident. Next next thing
happens where the like play happens. They're like, all right, cool,
like they're switching everything now, like like we need a
Tony's kind of holding the clipboard he's thinking about the play.
I'm like, I got it, grabbing a clipboard from him.
He's wow, grabbing clipboard from like drop a play thing
is gonna be like this is what we gonna do.
It ain't work.
So then after that, I'm like, all right, cool, I'll
spram my ankle during the workout.
Workout happens three minutes, three minutes.
Run at the end as Boston does, Danny does, and
they're like, you don't have to run, you don't have
to run.
I'm like that, I'm running. Ended up running.
It got in first with me and kazy Pola got
him first, and I think that's the only reason I
got drafted there because Jay afterwards, he always always joked
that he cursed me out. He did and cursed me out,
but he pulled me aside. I was like, we don't
do that here, Like you don't take the clipboard out
of the coach's hands. He's not heard that the years prior,
Kyrie had done at the Brad So I was like, oh, yeah,
that makes a lot of sense. Can't be doing that
especially Yeah, this is back when I played with Tennessee
because Barnes. Because Barnes was very like like, I definitely
did that a lot. I did a couple of thoumes
of Barns and like I was like, comment like, if
you got an idea, like the job.
So then I did it and it didn't work.
But I magic going a job interview. Hey, let me
make the job.
Let me know with that.
So then next thing you know, I'm like, I'm not
going to Boston. I get a text saying congratulations graduations. Congratulations.
I'm like what they graduated me for? So I text
my agent. I'm like, yo, what's what's going on? He's
got three congratulations texts. He's like, I don't know. I'm
like all right. So they call him like, YO, what's
going on. He's like, I don't know. Let me call
around see what actually hold up one second, he's like, uh,
don't take my word for it, but you might be
going to Boston at twenty two. Get your phone out
just in case. So I take my phone out. I'm
at my boy's house, my best friend's house, because i
didn't get a drafted by it to the green room
and I was like, all right, cool, sit there. Boston
gets drafted, everybody goes crazy around me. I think it
was Danny was the first one to call me, and
then Brad and then so I was like going to
Boston was I thought I was going to Utah next
pick and that was my thoughts, Like I thought I
was going to Utah twenty three and they trade to
pick the God Yeah.
That was no.
That was when Utah with nice stuff. That's when they
had Donovan, Mitchell had Rudy they had Yeah.
Right, you was salad your rookie year in both and had.
A lot opportunity to play because like that year in
Boston it was me Shimmy as the really force and.
Then Gordon Hayward hurt.
Yeah, so I played a lot, even in playoffs Gordon
came back like I was still in the rotation, played
a lot of backup five because Tice was our and
his freedom uh year, I think we had in his
freedom that year. Yeah, and then but play a lot
of backup five and kind of made a name through
that that whole process, that rookie year.
Man, you getting drafted, your honey crab as far you
were just over there kicking it when they're kicking it
that you.
No, it was just lyrious. It's like twelve.
It was like me and my family him, like a
couple of my boys, but like we're all just kicking
it because it was like I'd rather do it, like
I didn't want to doing crazy because like I'd hate
to be the guy that's sitting there.
Like, was you nervous you might drop this second round?
I wasn't nervous I'd go second round, but I definitely
didn't think I was in the top Like fifteen twenty picks,
I was like fucking around and thirty Like.
Yeah, this same experienced.
I remember I was supposed to get picked at seventeen
and when I ain't get picked, I ain't.
I was over.
Yeah, I was like, oh it's over. I'm about to
go second round.
That's how I was like twenty two. I was like,
I'm not going to Boston. So I started looking at Tames.
I was like Utah twenty three, best chance I got,
not Utah San Antonio twenty nine.
We started doing that.
You could you start you started thinking you cook. I
was like like even in my reaction like you see me.
I'm not crying. I'm not I'm just like, damn, I'm
going to Boston.
Now.
I got to Boston. I was like, so, like why
did y'all draft me?
Because I took the clipboard out of Coach's hand work out,
but they brushed it off and they're like, just don't
do that shit again, you.
Know, Jay to Jay, that's my guy's crazy?
What gravitated towards you when you got to Boston? Like
who shows you the ropes?
Kwalk? Kwalk's my vet.
Yeah, even everything, Like I'm gonna say because like the
technically the guys I knew most of the guys in
the roster. JT was best friends of age with Harry,
so like we were mutuals already through through HG and
I was like all right, cool. Then it was Kwalk,
Brad Wanna Maker and uh oh Gordon Gordon Tom Gordon.
Gordon's type of vet though that like do as I do,
Like I'm not gonna pull you along. So if you
want to show up at six am to work out
with me, cool, but like I'm not about to ask
you to show. Kwalk was the type to be like
anything you got like I'm here for you, Like damn
COVID happened that year. I was like, I don't know
what I'm gonna do because my lease, I can't pay
pay for the least I ain't got no, I don't
getting paid no more. And then at the same time,
like I can't go home to my grandparents or my
mom like they ninety sixty something. Kywalk was that come
live with me, saying like I lived with Kwalk the
entire COVID until we went to the bubble so and
then Smart of course was a vet too, but like
all those guys were my vets.
Kimba, Kimba was great, Kimble, didn't you and bring into us.
All that love?
Thinking about growing up in Charlotte the man I remember
I told him the story. I said, you came to
practice a Providence day when I was in ninth grade.
I remember asking for your autograph. He's like, no, I
don't remember that, but I remember practicing the PD. I
was like, yeah, in the small gym, like I walked
up to you like it was like the fam moment
for me too. And then also like to have him
as a vat still to this dance. That's my coach,
camera man, Kimbo coach walk, What was you gonna do
with kim? Then they pull up slumming back somewhere we
found out how to figure it out about to be pursued.
Happiness is a league to remember.
With your guy.
What you did with that first shake. But I forgot
that that COVID ship was was wicked.
Kobe was wicked man. Like we was over here about
the bubble, like Dann, bubble was insane too.
Yeah, what was that? Was the bubble?
I got so many stories that bubble man, so so
many stories.
Don't say too much. I can't say this is the
wrong part.
I can't say too much to go to the po
The bubble was crazy just because like you got to think,
you play a game. After a game, you can't shower,
you walk in like you walk out the locker and
you see you just played. Yeah, like and mind you,
there was so much going on the bubble and mind you,
there was nobody but dudes. Like it was to a
point where like you were like they had this one
pool where you had the shrimps, Like you have to
go get shrimps.
You go to your room.
That was the best best food you can get in
the bubble because you couldn't order in from the start.
You didn't get no takeout, like I remember the one
time dude went to the edge of the bubble got.
Suspended for three games.
Yeah, so you couldn't order until like I think it
was like fifty days in and they showed.
Was delivering me into your room.
Now Lebron, Lebron good Bron had his own room at
the top Penthouse wine.
House, the house on the campus.
Speak for yourself.
Yeah, he was like that.
Yeah, I.
Knew about that, were in there with across different bubbles.
I didn't know that.
I didn't know that Bron legit like he had his
own like their own set up, like they was taken
care of everything.
Somebody leaks and I said, I said, specially.
Yeah for that.
So yeah, so then next you know, we have that
bubble experience. Was was insane and even just with people
like I can't put the dog out like my dog,
I can't put guy out like that, Like there are
some people that hang out the pool waiting for it
come down, like you know, different energy. You probably assume
who was in the bubble at the time, so it
was a different, different time.
The real take that's a rough experience and I ain't gone.
How was that hoop?
And though out in that ship.
Though, imagine you playing like you know, Battle for Atlantis
zach feeling is that with no fans?
Okay, so like.
An auditorium ballroom court they put those TV screens around you.
That's when it got wicked where you're like it was
jokes because you look up my pops. My pops had
a like cigarette damn near in his robe.
The zoo like pop like takes an athlet said, pop,
you can't be doing this man, Like.
The chilling square, the road chill it.
I said, yeah, this is a different experience.
You got like they pumping them crowd noise with the
home arena like it wasn't real, Like I always say,
the bubble was such an experience that you have people
playing out of their minds that never played that way before.
Correct. Oh my saw TJ. Warren bubbles. He was damn yeah,
that soops.
Because because guys ain't have to deal with nothing else
was hot ball. At the same time, it was like,
I ain't never seen dudes like our heroes pulling up
off one leg three on some crazy It's real.
Murray crazy Ray.
It had to be.
It had to be better than playing in the next year, though,
I can't except that was terrible. So you laying in
them big old arenas with nobody in there, Yeah.
It was dead you bro, it was so funny.
What was that You remember that game when somebody was
talking crazy about the rough and scream that ship in
the game and you can hear everything.
You heard everything. Stop by the bench. You can't talk
to me that way.
You can hear everything. Bro.
Our first game we walked in the stadium, were about
to play Milwaukee. I'm like, this ship ain't gonna work.
I can't get hyped. Jac hit a game winner. Yeah,
we go to a hell of a shot too, man
Like fun like, okay, where we're going tonight.
Like the bubble was definitely better than that second year.
I could imagine, Like, and it's tough because even for me,
like because Peyton Pritching, those guys rookie, so they never
experienced fans. For me, I experienced fans for the first
half of the season, then dealt with the bubble got Wick,
then dealt with the next year. So it's like completely different,
Like I'm over here, Like Bubble times was I feel
like it was a grind. But then the next year
it felt like literally the entire season was just like
tossing to the They didn't want to be there.
That damn that ship was over. Didn't nobody want to
be there though.
Bro, we had COVID, we had what was that game?
We had Joe Johnson, justin Jackson.
Oh I had left then?
Yeah, no, no, no, it was before you left.
No, I was going when Joe got Joe in there,
I'm here. I left. But I remember we had to
sit one time.
We had to do the COVID test and then like
malfunction and we had to be there for like fit
out there for like fifty minutes and wait, like they't
start bringing you food. Wow, we just sit there and
what's that before you got on? That ship had to
pass nobody.
I was clear. I was.
Trying, boy, the real the bar for sure, the bars
I was getting through that, Bro, just how track be here?
We're gonna talk about later. Is the greatest power for
the ball?
Something I talked? Nobody said. I told you he's a
little fire. He said, he said.
I had to both cooked out summers.
Have some fun them summer, I said, y'all talking to
an addict.
That's not real addict, that's not funny. But the way
he was it was as a wild boy.
But we said I had my favorite whatever Broy and say,
I had some fun times in the summer coming out
like you can't say.
That on god lettle bar Lie.
You definitely hit that powder doing the singing guy that's
too long to be playing grad don't cleek. I'm just
saying that. The word definitely.
Lying.
Bro definitely did.
Spread all them guys back in the day.
I feel like was not in the two thousand.
He ain't even that old. B Yeah he missed a
starts from the Yeah. See that's.
Let's invincing you don't remember it either.
That was a wild interview. That's a wild boy black.
I ain't never seen nobody tweet like even get back.
I've seen people lay down like chill.
You've seen that.
What is it?
That is not the bike like you'll see at the beginning,
look at the bottom, lep him.
Oh that was powder?
Do you think it was?
No?
Bro was tweet that that's the red.
That was the momentum.
Bro. That's in the half court shot that from that's the.
N there was no contents this tweet.
I don't want to say that you on the show.
You're about to make me speak about powder.
I'm just don't make you act like that was something
about They just tweet John Starks a little.
That's the first e BO he really o g he
just tweet he just man, my boy tweeked out, laid down,
just bro, he just sweet. I didn't even remember that.
Listen, that's the first thing that came to mim. I
had that choice.
I think back to those nineties because that's back when
name it was no real testing.
It's really the eighties though. He said, boys smoked squares
a halftime.
Beer and beer in the Getty Gettara containers.
They said, Larry used to have a beer like that's
why it's my dog, like LD when he had a
beer after the game.
Y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all have to y'all take the gar
away from l D.
But they was drinking beer down the little game the
next Larry.
That's real ship. I agree that Michael Philly took that
like man ain't gonna love me and E T.
E T want the funniest human beings My dog. E
T yeah, we love Bounce bro.
It's one of our own for sure.
One on one sessions. I used to watch the really okay,
so you're neutral, I'm neutral.
How did those one on one sessions go?
Please credit where credits due. JET did win a couple
of games.
He won a couple of love also at the same time,
like it was always j T E T Jet E T.
I ain't never really seen no winn.
You know you're about to text you about the But
I was retired et twenty five pounds. He was got,
you know, he before he got back into shape. So
ET was just just there, you know, he was I compete, man,
I compete, Yeah, no threes.
But you know what I mean.
Yeah, So then E T never really won Jet. I'd
say with when like seven for the games, I say,
like he have his head of his days where you know,
he won a couple. JT dominated the rest for sure
for sure. And then like the occasional times when me
and Peyton joined.
He wanted to play one on one.
Yeah, the type two like they do three spots, right,
He'd be like that's just seven. Yeah, It's like, yeah,
we're done. I remember it was one day at me.
J T j B, You and Peyton all played I
remember because they think it his assholes for real, just
like I used to, Like I used to never do
the shit there, like shit I doing one on one
I never did in the games. Every time I made
a tough move, I remember I messed up j me
one time Jet was like, it's.
Like damn again.
Yeah so like so.
But it was some good times.
It was hell of fun. That team was one of
I told you, that's.
One of the.
Funniest seems. Bro, Tristan and Brad the most commedy. I
told those stories teammates to this day.
Double t Bro thirteen baby always like this how we're
doing in Cleveland?
Yeah, Letbron, this is how we did it in Cleveland.
Oh Ship, can't go man.
Help rock?
Then what remember one time we got on the player
and the food was weak.
Oh my god, we all over there, we chilling, everybody
just chilling like yeah, they would never do this in Cleveland.
Cleveland wrong with the crazy crazy like all right, look
at me, come on, love this this how they treat
you on on window. God, Bro, this is what happened.
We're still to play off. I swear to God.
What's a bit though he was the coolest, take care of.
Your rooks, like he never did make you do nothing
crazy by then, like I was, I was the second year,
so I ain't have to do crazy stuff no more.
But like Payton Aaron them, he a ron man, crash
out the killing out, m he hooping. I used to
be his ass every day and want oh my guys
to bust his ass. Joe Joe Joe like playing, come on,
he's got to get better. He got you gotta you
gotta be the come on. Used to be sucking.
Damn my boy pays me loud here paid pleasure for
what you talk about earlier, painting picture his development, what
he looked like.
Did you say earlier on today he was gonna be
like that?
Ye know when they got that, when they got him
on that contract, I was like, this is.
Bogue.
It's right, they're gonna I think they're gonna take care
of him.
He's a fan favorite.
But that dude, like when I tell you he was
cooking like that from the moment a man. And then
like he also like he waited his time, but at
the same time he was always killing, like you could
tell he worked his like the type of person you
have to tell to get out the gym. Like he
was one where he'd be in the morning. They'd be like, hey,
we got a true lockout there, and everybody else can
come in, but pay damn paying were legit. And he's
the type of person that, like they keep him out
of the gym, He's gonna find another gym next.
He's a basketball JUNKI yunky brous. I used to be
like I remember I was like, Brad play Peyton, man,
It's cool.
He's ready.
I'm saying killer.
I remember that conversation both with Brad, Hey play.
Play on man, I'm tired acting like he don't want man.
He was cooking and practiced.
Though.
You gotta think Payton been through it all, like he
was in that positional jet. He started playing again, he
made came. He was hooping for real. Then after that
the next season was Knocolm Brock didn't Jeff like, uh,
Derek White, Marcus Smart touch the court. Yeah, And then
the following year that's when they started going off.
I love bro We just had a crazy segment about
him and Kayle Park on Show Fast.
Yeah.
Yeah, they got paid, they got paying paying like playing nice.
I love could win Kaylen kay Kayla nice paying different
think about this painting so nice that a team of
j T and JB they give him the ball sometimes
at the end of the game eleven rock.
Yeah he's nice. Bro I ain't never I always say
the year good. He drivel the fun out that ball.
He got handles, like he said the.
Other day, put niggas in the blender.
You gotta play him soon. And I'm pissed that Grange.
He'd be talking crazy too.
He talked.
He talked like he truly like he go any pick
up session.
But yeah, I gotta meet Brot.
He's definitely got like.
I gotta meet my boy p P for sure.
Black calling meeting the PP though A.
That is that is because I ain't there. But see
I don't call my ship that. That's probably why I
went over my head. It's the wood or nothing but
toughest guard though in the league.
Man.
Yeah, that's about you understande me with your ship that
he one through five.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
It's always it's really niggas, like like short niggas that
can shoot, that can go like fast, like Peyton, Like
there's Garland step Curry's c McCollums, like those guys are
the hardest one because I'd rather guard it's gonna get
me fucked up in the future. I'd rather Kadie and
those type of guys because it's more like more fun
than guarded. Nigga, that's just gonna pit pat cold Cross
like pass it off, cut, back door, sprint to get
the ball, like, yeah, it's.
Too much like relax.
I knew you was different when you was going joeling
b Yeah, I'll never forget that, bro. I was watching
that game.
Noah, I mean nah, he was actually doing a good job,
but be seven foot pounds like he's six seven for sure.
Did you sign up for that or they put you
in that?
So like I always was able to like guard bigger guys,
like even like college everything else, going to the league
and we like they saw when played Bam, like we're
just gonna try him and like try him like put
them on, put him on and beads, Yeah he does.
And then like I was guarding, so like I actually
do better. I think on I would say I guard
best three through five, one in and two's like Donovan
Mitchell's those guys of the world struggle like they might
not score four three out of five, but like sorry,
four out.
Of five, but maybe three out of five. Other guys I'd.
Say two, maybe one out of five, like even like
the guards sitting dooing recently, Like guys like that, Like
I feel like I feel confident in my matchup versus
like other matchups. I'm like, I might got to I
got the better of me. I'm true, I'm truthful about
it for sure. Bro like and b even for example,
like guarding him in the playoff series, garden Yiannis like
Brook Lopez, Like those guys are like, those are the
ones I feel like I have the most fun Guarden
because they don't flop, they play downhill and like they
fight like I like fighting, so.
Bruise on the side of your head.
Club, what was it like playing in the finals against
no saying that type of war?
Say probe you didn't go from fight club? Asked about
the Pistons playing in the finals is cool because like
it's a different experience, like they always talk about like
the CP quote, Like I want to feel this like
experience again, like type ship, like it was legit, like
you that first game you stupp on the court. I
remember my heart was beating out my chest and you
start playing and it's some of the best environments, whether
it's like fans, the media before the game, like it's
top to bottom across from first man to fifteenth man.
I feel like you got to stay locked.
No, it's a it's a different experience and like to
experience it in that twenty two and two series, Like
I remember were playing those those games.
We we thought we wanted, like.
We were too up to to one to or yeah,
two to one, and I was like, yo, like we're
going back home, like we're home. We got to get
this next win Game four half Steph, like I always say,
Steph went off. Steph is insane. Jordan Poole was, he was.
He was reason why they won that series. But Steph,
that Game four was ridiculous, Like oh yeah, I remember
I was guarding it.
But then when I got up, I remember washing it.
I was like, yeah, this is this is a different
level of basketball player.
And he was hyped too, like he was on a bitch. Yeah,
he's showing a lot of emotion and ship he was.
He was wild.
I ain't never like because Clay was cool this whole
series and he was good, but like it was really
JP and Steph that was that was carrying them throughout
that entire run. Sure, Otto Porter and Andrew Wiggins. Bro,
they had some big ass.
Game Auto Porter.
I don't body thatt me off to this day because
the final year he got traded to the Raptors out
the league.
Like still makes me mad. Like he was busting Bro.
We always got We always got some random dudes that
beat us back when I was in Boston.
Yeah that was George.
Yeah he was he was.
Healthy all he never been healthy his entire career and
true finals running want to freaking play every game twenty
minutes to be good.
He was killed, man, that one.
He was that close to being like me, Bro, he
was that close to being a champ. Bro.
That's but he did get your bucks up out of
here before that thought. I was alrighty going, Bros.
Part about it is that championship year. I remember you
played what three minutes? It was real factor.
Today. Hang you ever batched up with Draymond?
Yeah, for sure. Did another game against Pelicans.
Statesis back list trying to reap out all right, that
was the even game one of the series. Man got
into it that that series and I always say I
got the most respect for Draymond in the world because
I admitted to this day and I'm never changing the stance.
I was my favorite player growing up because six seven
ye ward that you know, pass it involved, you know
everything that stuff. So like I'll give him the credit
where it's due. But every time we play against him,
it's smoke smoke.
Competitive.
Like I think that he's the type of person that
like talk, as you all know, talks all the ship
in the world. He got the team to back it up,
and there's a phenomenal job of you know, make an
impact on winning where you can. So like when I
was in Boston, especially back and forth, back and forth
every single time. I think when I was the first
with my first five years, there was always altercation.
Damn, there was some level of altercation where.
It was like there was when I trade to Charlotte
and try to kick me in my nuts when it
was you know, when I was in Dallas had to
me like when I had in Boston, like us wrestled
to the ground double text, like it was always something.
This year, I think this year is the first year that.
Play I remember, y'all, wrest I just never knew that
child was to like at each other.
I never know somebody else because like with Dre, you
try and put your five on him, You try and
put like when we were in Boston, we put j
T on him because we were like, we can just
switch it, like you put me on.
Who was on that team at the time.
I won't take credit.
It was like they put me on, Yeah, switch, I
would switching WINNI and they would never come into ball screens.
You talk about having to seene to back it up,
go ahead up. Recently Detroit Charlotte hellp of time.
Man.
Was like, man, I always say just watch the reactions, man, like,
because I saw it from the start like this is
like even before this play started happening, like during and
Moose were jawing, like talking, talking, and once the much happened,
I was like, oh, like it started getting crazy. I
stood he packs in my hands over there, like all right,
let's see if they get.
It taken care of.
Because I'm not about I got fined my second year
in the league or third year in the league against
the Bulls, I got to spend it one game, man,
I lost thirty thousand dollars. I'm not like yeah, I
ain't never doing this again. Then this happens, right, so
I'm up here like all right, they got it situated.
When I saw Miles swing on Durham, I was like,
all right, you see me and tell me to start walking.
We start walking and Stewart ran. That's when we really
start walking. And my coach pulled me back because he
was like, Grant, we need you to play like you
see me trying to get on the court twice and
I'm like, yo, I want to be involved.
It's fun. Don't lose, no chicken.
But that's what it was. You can't lose dun the ring.
Every each sequence was fun because you saw the first one.
I give a lot of credit during because he really
could knock my dog out like Musa. It's like, this
situation happened. Tries to swing on him, holds back. They
hold him back like we got him situated. He walks away.
We think it's done. Musa going crazy. Throw security right here.
This is when he could have.
Food.
He watched it second. You could tell you can fight too,
because turns he checked.
Held it back like all right, he checks the hook
then keeps backing up, So I was all right, cool,
they get most situated. Miles, I think it was just
riled up. He was talking. He's trying to port his teammate.
Goes keeps pursuing him, trying to swing swings on. During
they swing back and forth, they miss miss missmiss. So
nothing happened. Sewer came from the other side of the bitch.
He could have scooped him, though he is he since
to this day.
I think he would have scooped him. But dun over,
I don't know if either one of them.
Know what When they get to the ground, like you
got to think, because throwing hands is different. He slipped it,
Scoops Goes through a double leg, tries to slam on.
I forgot you was into that ship.
Yeah, yeah, you know I met down.
Yeah, and he just broke down the stands. I forgot
as to the fight, what are you doing? Crazy?
At least you got points yeah zero zero zero zero
point yeah.
Yeah, no, God, I.
Think Miles would have slammed them. I don't know what
after that. There ain't no chance of breaking that up.
No, it's too too because they're a girl on my nighbor,
I said, Doug, I said, my boy been in this.
I took him back to the hotel, even doing boxing
lessons over the show show.
Yeah, they got waking for sure. It was like man
moving from Boston to Dallas. What was that transition?
Like, yeah, I was saying, because like.
Signing trade, signing trades always in a misconception.
People think signing trades is like, oh, this guy got moved,
versus signing trades basically the player decided to go somewhere
else and stuff like that. So when I left the team,
I was like, you know, at the time, me and
Joe were on the best of terms. Now with my
dog locked in for life, but at the time we
were on best of Terrice. I was like, I'm gone.
I'm gone either way. So then I signed Dallas and
I'm like, all right, cool, So Devin me Luca's represented
by by my agency, Uh get there, and Mark and
those guys are like, hey, we're excited to have you.
We need you to be like a leader on his team,
hold people accountable, all this other stuff. I'm like cool.
So then that season happens, you know how it went,
and uh, like it was a great time. Like I
looked back to those times. I learned so much about
that team, Like Kyrie, like all the misconceptions that I
had across about him at the league. I was like, yo,
this is one of the best teammates I've ever had.
Like and then you got like l D one of
the best players. I remember those conversations with E T
and JT is my dog. JT is my dog. JT
is my dog. That and that he impacts winning more so,
how you determine which one is the better player, that's
on you to decide.
The talent that I saw playing with Luca is absurd.
He's nice. Who'd you say about J two? I missed?
He impacts The way he impacts winning is unprecedented. He
impacts the game out every fast that he can defend,
he can like he's a playmaker. He can score, so
he's a six to ten wing that can do it all.
That's the that's the best way to describe it. L
D six seven European bucket that also controls the game.
But he like he pays, like he knows how he
puts people in position, Like I've never had that many
open shots since playing with Luca Donci in my life.
It's difficult at times, but at the same time, like
it's like you watch him, you're amazed, and like I
always say, JT, I think had the benefit of the
doubt that like in moments like that, he was amazing
in moments, but also we had a really really freaking
good team, so you didn't have to be amazing at
all times.
Like with l D.
I felt like every single game, I'd be like there's
something new that I'm like, holy crap. Like and maybe
that's just how they both play, you know. JT is
a little bit more passive also like a little bit
more like trusting in his teammates. L D is a
little more ball dominant, you know, getting.
To his own So what's that first practice of the
training camp? Like, would you gotta see Kyrie and Luca
hooping at the game?
Oh no, So.
I'll say that I always bring it back to that
family story when family came out. Was like Grant got
twenty six on his head. I'm like that is cap.
Oh yeah, yeah, definitely got scored on about twelve.
Definitely about twelve twelve. The spirits switches. So like the
l D, like I was I was in charge of
making sure you showed up every day, so like I
was like always agitating them, like pissing them off some
way like makes and now it's we practice like we
practice every day. It's different than different, like we skirmished
like that was. So it was it was smooth, like
I rocked with it man. So it was competitive like
Kai and absurd. But Kyle, you know, pick and choose
like some days when you know guys get into it.
That's when Kyle turned up for the other days. Yeah,
ld Jesus for his condition, whatever he needs to do
and let rock out. So it was fun. But also
that team, like you could tell that team was a
finals team even without like the talent, like we needed
one more big at the time, like Rashaun Holmes. I
think at the time when I was there, like we
needed like Gafford changed that team hell of a.
Notre PJ.
Like it was a good trade in my hand, like
in terms of like similar players. But at the same time,
like I think PJ provides a little bit more I
like passing board than he does, Like I feel like
he's a little more score score motivated. So like even
that group, like they were they were prepared to go
to the finals and that's why they did.
I just think that made it tough at the end.
So you were one part.
So who probably thought Las year like everybody else, like
how the hell did that trade Luca or that was
probably shocking.
House in Ben and I was like I saw, I
saw the tweet. I was like, ain't no way. At
the same time, I know because like Nico loves a D.
You know love he's a Kobe guy, and Ad was
Kobe's guy. Talking about it was really trying to I
thought it was really trying to set up Yann It's
going to Dallas. That's what they really wanted. They wanted
Joannice and a D in Dallas. I think that was
the envision the plan. Oh a D Wow. Were the
fair families? Yes, general, because that's how that's all he
talked about. He talked about those two guys. Those were
the guys. So I think, like they said, remember the
first call they made to Walks, it was a Timberwolves.
I think it was Milwaukee. Then it was Timberwolves.
Yeah yeah, then Timberwolves looks going after, Timberwolves going after
So that.
Was a year earlier. It's been this year.
Boy would have been Yeah, Dallas out of there.
It's been deep them for show. Yeah.
So but that was it was. It was smooth like
seeing it. But then when the trade happened, I was
like wealth Nicoas just fed up. They were they were
done with it. They were done with like the like
the like organizational control. They were done for them. So
they were like, we're gonna move off of them. And
in my opinion, I think that was messed up because
blindsided your best player, superstar, superstar probably top three, top
two player.
In the NBA.
Yeah, So it was like it was very shocked from
a player perspective because I'm like, you could have easily
like gone to him and be like yo, because they
also thought they did right by him, because like if
you know ld enough, like you know, it's probably three
places he'd go if it wasn't Dallas. Yeah, and that's
probably one of the three. But he did get traded
to the Lakers. Still, like like if you knew your
Champions of Lakers, you can still go to him and
be like yo, like yeah, not to you. I know
you probably hate this, You're out of here.
Yeah, it's like, yeah, you are going to l A.
You're going to l A.
Bro, Yeah, you will be like here you probably like
damn what, well, fifty million probablybout the making endorsement deals.
But you take it away Texas. Yeah, and what up?
You're right and it ain't gonna stay packed super Max.
He gonna get that back, y'all.
Trust I need that now, Brow, you gonna get it.
You see, ld in a ton of commercials. Do not
really like commercials.
Did you know and had a tree nigga? Yeah, nigga,
you didn't know that the nigga told you back in
the tree, ain't it?
Yeah? L you know what that's a Bomber Old Night versus.
Episode.
Yeah, bo Bro, niggas didn't know the niggas linked the
thors what So okay, Rich believe.
You believe that problem. Have you back from injury, man,
Good to see you back on the court. Man.
How's the feeling being back coming back from injury? I
know that's a grime man with stuff like that. It's great,
but it's.
Tough, Like I feel like come back from any injury,
you know, any type of Like it's my first injury
in my life for that made me miss time. So
like coming back from an injury has shown me that
you have to be patient. You gotta be understanding that
you're not like you might be better in your like
your mind, like you're better than you were, but you
gotta like be understanding that the SHOT's going to come around.
Like even the first two or three, three four games,
like I was playing good defensively, helping the team win
and stuff like that, but man, I was like twelve percent,
like from the field, twelve percent from the three I
was like, I'm a I was killing in practice.
It ain't none like that game speed, it.
Ain't nothing like it.
Now, I think I'm getting more accustomed to it, like
turning it back around. But like even so, it's like
they say, it takes a full year. So I'm trying
to be paid for myself, but also understand that I
can't be too patient because trying to try to make
it hold yourself to a high standard, but also like
doing all things that matter, like like before you know,
I always tell the stories like that finals run. I
used to man, I used to manipulate my weight so badly,
like I would go from two for I remember that
first round series. I went from two forty three. Second
round series we played the Bucks, I got up to
forty eight. Third round series we played BAM. I knew
after playing the five I was two fifty four. Try
to get down into forty three again to play the Warriors.
I can only get down to like two forty seven.
So like I used to try and do that, you.
Need to tell him how to do this ship.
I know the methods.
I'll tell you how to lose what.
Start the month? Yeah, okay, I can't do that. No
more weight, you know what.
Tomorrow.
I don't want you to get into trouble.
Yeah.
Never.
We can't manipulate my weight anymore way i'd used to.
So like now with the ac injury, I'm like, all,
I got to make sure I stay at the two
forty seven to forty eight rather than going up twoty five.
Nigga, you way two forty eight cause niggas he was all.
But you need to teach you about that, like listen, listen, man,
be here with the real Charlotte Hornets.
Man playoffs before you go. You got to tell us
about these cards.
Oh yeah, oh yeah, off the court court free game
so whatever cards like you knows might be fans of
stuff like that, like ripping wax.
It's like gambling.
I'll give you a truth, like I brought a case
to rip If you want to rip it after we're
done where it's like if you want oh yeah, yeah,
let's so we got a case of Panini Prism. The
bun below it, the black brown case. That's the case
of Pernini Prism football this year. So like door autos. Yeah,
it's like a whole case of like twelve boxes in it. Okay,
so big money on the way, Yeah, so cases that
guaranteed case hits. So like you normally have a better
chance of making your money back compared to if you
buy individual box. So yeah, let me yeah, if you
had a key, so the way you really it's basically
out prospecting, just like GM, just like you would if
you're owning the team and you basically hold cards.
Some cards are more rare than others. The cards are
more rare sophomore.
Yeah, so these I brought football because it's the best
way to talk about Okay, big rips right on, brother box.
Yes, sir, And if I find some heat here, I
get to keep it.
Give you keyp Okay, we got gifts, let me get
now you're a Franklin and this joint listen.
If you had let's tell you the truth always if
you hit the manga. You're coming off on five figures
and just say y'all know. Okay, So if you see
a car that looks like an anime print.
Yeah car, say less.
Now listen, are you want of the people who'll be
in there runing all the kids drink of the Pokemon cards.
And you have people.
I'm not the person that shows up by twenty boxes
and walks out like I'm a person like I like buying.
It would be multiple pack the pack, ye.
All the packs. I'll tell you if you had.
A good card, I'm a I'm a numpered cards. What
you're looking for an everybody? I gotta right? Luis though?
Is that fire?
Yeah?
Like the base car?
Like base cars are cool, they're like cool names. But
you want guys up like the shinier cards.
Look Jared Golf, would you consider it a shiny So?
Yeah, that's a blue. That's a blue blue. That's numbers.
Who's one?
So tell you the number?
The number ten, Christian McCaffrey, I trade you.
And also that's another thing. You can trade cards.
But like what I always do is based cars don't
really matter, right, so always just you can peak it.
You'll see that.
Okay, who is the Taylor R. J.
Harvey basketball print to one a like rookies sell higher
than the vets, dude, okay consistently. So if you have
a rookie card that's a silver, then that will sell
more than a rookie bass. Some are now like numbered
cards and some more. It kind of goes by like
inclements you're looking for, like the bigger name the quarterbacks,
Like you had a Jackson dark silver, you might have
hit like a couple hundred card in the gym.
All right, so this oh he earnest, he ain't ain't rolling?
Yeah, older.
Insert.
I got the silvers like people will collect them for sets,
but they're not really like something that you like, you
ever put to the side unless it's number.
I'm getting legendary. I got the wife freenye, I got
Lawrence Taylor shock.
So you get commit like some cool names, but because
they're not their rookie like you go back and rip
the products when they were rookies nukes versus nowadays.
Unless it's an autograph or something like.
That super Bowl champion.
Hell yeah, we have too much fun with this man
attacked man for sure.
Man, this is where you you know it might be
a get a sponsorship for the pot. I mean them.
They've seen some products of rip, like.
Getting all my favorite players, but I ain't get.
And sometimes the favorite players the ones you collect.
Like Okay, yeah I got Bobby Wagoner, and I got
Nick Bosa even though you know Nick Bosa be wilding.
But and I like us.
Yeah, I got a Michael Michael Vick. Although my case
over there because like that's personal until really low right now,
you're really searching for like signs in this product. So
if you get a hookah, I.
Got a Mark Andrews shiney though.
Oh yeah, that's what I'm saying.
So that's purple Mark Andrews, like all those cars that
are colored, Yeah, will have something.
What you do with.
The cars, you know, he drops that past. But still
my days.
Collect kids collect cars just for the joy, right, like
the base cars that have no money, no incentive, you
bring it to a car shop.
I had give these out to like ten year olds.
Why I usually give everything up under the bridge we
got a bridge.
Yeah that that bridge is wicked man. Yeah, he give
out l O R L R G f its all right.
And on that note, doubt we appreciate you know what
