Episode 1 History of Mankind - Age of Terra, Technology, Strife and the appearance of the Emperor
Welcome to the 40k Lorecast. On our debut episode we deiced to start at the beginning. Well not the beginning beginning, that was millions of years earlier, but the first of the 40K lore written. We take you from modern era up to about 30,000AD. On this episode we cover: Age of Terra, Age of Technology, Age of Strife, the Unification Wars, and the Great Crusade.

[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the Forty K-Lorecast. [SPEAKER_03]: Welcome to Forty K-Lorecast with me, John Barsati and Brad Jester. [SPEAKER_03]: The staff. [SPEAKER_03]: On today's episode, we're going to be covering the origins of mankind's journey into the Warhammer, forty thousand by going from about what we would all consider modern era through the year thirty thousand. [SPEAKER_03]: And from there, it's going to get pretty deep pretty quick, but today we're going to flip through the age of terror, age of technology. [SPEAKER_03]: And of course, the dark age of technology, the age of strife. [SPEAKER_03]: We might end up getting into some chaos gods and a few other things, but we'll see where we go. [SPEAKER_03]: It's things did happen. [SPEAKER_03]: So we're now going to dive a lot more deeper into the lore. [SPEAKER_03]: So hopefully for those of like more lore bunnies of you, you're really going to love this. [SPEAKER_03]: One little caveat I do want to make is that this is written by GW over the last forty years and some of it has changed. [SPEAKER_00]: change wildly, and also is still at odds with each other. [SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to give, let's be honest, we're going to write history just like the conquerors do exactly the way we want it to be. [SPEAKER_00]: There's some stuff that's been red counted and stuff that hasn't been and there's some conflicting lore. [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to pick the ones that we like the best and we're staying. [SPEAKER_03]: Excellent. [SPEAKER_03]: So just thank you for coming along and we'll just jump right into the first of it, which is the age of terror. [SPEAKER_00]: effectively modern day plus this is because forty k is based in the Milky Way we talked about the first one it is us it is front earth and this is the journey of again earth plus it's us right now up to about fifteen thousand where we became a space fan race we colonized the entirety of the solar system we [SPEAKER_00]: Terraform, the entirety of our solar system. [SPEAKER_00]: And we started doing like the extra solar expansion. [SPEAKER_00]: And we still didn't have FTL. [SPEAKER_00]: We didn't know about the war yet. [SPEAKER_00]: And so we were really constrained by the travel of that time. [SPEAKER_00]: And we spent a lot of time in that was the biggest restriction was we couldn't go fast. [SPEAKER_00]: I need to go fast. [SPEAKER_00]: We need to get ready Bobby. [SPEAKER_00]: We need to get ready fast. [SPEAKER_00]: But we were the masters of the immediate thing that we could reach. [SPEAKER_03]: And I think this is a cool time to talk about because it's probably the easiest part from an early sci-fi element where mankind has fixed the earth and then we start looking at other bits. [SPEAKER_03]: Mars gets colonized. [SPEAKER_03]: Saturn gets colonized. [SPEAKER_03]: Obviously, Uranus got colonized. [SPEAKER_00]: But also Mars became because of things that we found in Mars later on, where we jump started our own tech, which may have been part of the age of technology, may have not. [SPEAKER_00]: But the biggest thing is Mars became, and this is one of the things that we definitely need to touch on, is Mars became a complete separate entity at that point in time. [SPEAKER_00]: There's Earth, there's Mars, and then there's a bunch of planets that are conquered, because we really hadn't met anybody at that point in time. [SPEAKER_00]: But we were owned by those two planets and sometimes it wasn't a real emicoable situation with it. [SPEAKER_00]: We pushed out as far as we could. [SPEAKER_00]: We squabbled yet, we had moved past the stage of, are we going to kill ourselves? [SPEAKER_00]: Or are we going to find enough resources to exist? [SPEAKER_03]: And we basically made it so we could extend. [SPEAKER_03]: The issue is that we were only held back truthfully by travel speed. [SPEAKER_03]: At this point, we could settle any planet, any piece of rock we found. [SPEAKER_03]: Careful. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we could terraform it. [SPEAKER_03]: So they became a, we wouldn't go with garden world, but it became a place that could do it. [SPEAKER_03]: We had enough, we had the ships, we had all these things, but we were still held back. [SPEAKER_00]: And then we get into the age of technology, which is also when we started having things like STCs, which are world creating, or it is basically full AI capable of taking whatever resources you have and making them into legitimately anything you want. [SPEAKER_00]: Star Trek replicators. [SPEAKER_00]: The best thing I can say for an STC. [SPEAKER_03]: And that's what ends up shifting. [SPEAKER_03]: So around the year, fifteen thousand, it's actually two things shift. [SPEAKER_03]: The first one is the appearance of what we call mutant navigators. [SPEAKER_03]: These are human beings with a third eye. [SPEAKER_00]: Asterpets. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, asterpets is a later call. [SPEAKER_03]: What these were able to do is allow them to actually utilize warp drives. [SPEAKER_03]: So the issue is that when we talk about Warhammer a lot, the warp is maybe one of the most important parts of the most important part of the university. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and there you go. [SPEAKER_03]: So that with warp is nothing. [SPEAKER_03]: effectively mankind mutates randomly, and these people are born with a third eye. [SPEAKER_03]: And this third eye can actually see into what GW calls the immaterial. [SPEAKER_00]: They can basically have magic users. [SPEAKER_00]: People that can see the weave of D&D, they can touch the lay lines. [SPEAKER_00]: They can utilize the warp energy, and they can guide youth. [SPEAKER_02]: The game riffs was so good. [SPEAKER_02]: It just never took off, but it has so good. [SPEAKER_00]: The biggest thing is that we didn't put the beacon of sunlight. [SPEAKER_00]: We basically guided us through and it allowed us to conquer the stars. [SPEAKER_00]: And we actually went legitimately, it was the gold rush. [SPEAKER_00]: You get fifteen thousand to twenty five thousand. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is all shrouded in darkness. [SPEAKER_00]: So you're not a hundred percent sure. [SPEAKER_00]: But this was a hundred percent the gold rush. [SPEAKER_00]: you were going out west. [SPEAKER_00]: We went all of these places were overpopulated and we took giant amounts of population and went everywhere, greeted like rabbits and the things we were allowed to go everywhere because we could terraform anything we wanted. [SPEAKER_00]: And we could create, and he didn't matter what the world was like, we could make it livable. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's a big deal on that. [SPEAKER_00]: I should say it's standard time. [SPEAKER_00]: I apologize. [SPEAKER_03]: I fully inherited it up. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: So what's happened is all of a sudden, two things have, these people who are born give us two abilities. [SPEAKER_03]: A billion number one is they can actually seize. [SPEAKER_03]: They can drive a ship now through this thing called the work, which we've touched on before. [SPEAKER_03]: So now we can use the warp to get from point A to point B without having to go in straight line. [SPEAKER_03]: We go in between space to the next part of the bigger deal. [SPEAKER_03]: But the other one is they can also talk. [SPEAKER_03]: That's actually, and that's probably bigger. [SPEAKER_00]: That's bigger. [SPEAKER_00]: I actually think it's bigger because just being able to travel means nothing because that's one of the things where we look at humanity right now of [SPEAKER_00]: Hey, if we go super far, we have to wait forever to get a message back because of warp communication through that. [SPEAKER_00]: You could get, I say instantaneous, but it's, it's a little weird because time goes different. [SPEAKER_03]: Time goes a little bit different, no harm. [SPEAKER_00]: For the most part, you can get immediate communication between far-flung civilizations, higher civilizations, colonies, everything out all these words. [SPEAKER_00]: We can connect them. [SPEAKER_00]: We know what each one needs. [SPEAKER_00]: We know what defenses aren't needed. [SPEAKER_00]: We know [SPEAKER_00]: who to bring what breakthroughs they've made. [SPEAKER_00]: And that was a big thing when we travel is we encountered other everythings between civilizations between new forms of energy. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's where the age of technology went is they had reality changing technology. [SPEAKER_00]: They could form anything to what they wanted. [SPEAKER_00]: That was bad as hellbar stuff. [SPEAKER_03]: They could just think they were still, we'll get to what was going on with them during this era, too. [SPEAKER_00]: They were having a very serious party, like, woo, so, but during this, we technologically made it so that we could do almost anything. [SPEAKER_00]: It was crazy on that. [SPEAKER_00]: We colonized the entire galaxy. [SPEAKER_00]: We literally set up, and they became, and now in Forty Kay they've become hoard-fested worlds, but we set up effectively agricultural worlds, [SPEAKER_00]: industrial worlds and resource worlds. [SPEAKER_00]: And they are horrible places now. [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they weren't as bad then. [SPEAKER_00]: But they basically started to really focus what a world was supposed to do. [SPEAKER_00]: You're supposed to prefer to spoon this you're supposed to do resources. [SPEAKER_00]: And this one is supposed to print out ships, whatever housing, whatever it was. [SPEAKER_00]: And that was a big deal though, because it became the [SPEAKER_00]: Blueprint, basically, the structure for what the Imperium is now. [SPEAKER_00]: We still live under that what the original pioneers put out in these planets. [SPEAKER_00]: We still use all of those planets exactly the same way they did here. [SPEAKER_02]: There's the few less of them. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: There's significantly less of them. [SPEAKER_00]: You're less of them. [SPEAKER_00]: But this is the pinnacle of achievement for humanity. [SPEAKER_00]: We're as far as we're ever going to be. [SPEAKER_00]: We are trading up right now from the moment of fire. [SPEAKER_00]: We're as far as humanity is going to be. [SPEAKER_00]: And then... [SPEAKER_00]: stuff. [SPEAKER_03]: And more stuff. [SPEAKER_03]: So during this era, just so people can keep an eye what we're talking about here is a really, they called it the long march. [SPEAKER_03]: This is incredible levels of travel where people would be on ships for it could be decades. [SPEAKER_03]: It was a very straight time, but they started using the work for the first time. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's talk about this because we'll travel. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just a work travel. [SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't even just sometimes they were traveling for, and we're going to go again, their perception, their perception is decades, but sometimes these people because of the fact that you're traveling through [SPEAKER_00]: effectively primordial chaos. [SPEAKER_00]: These people would take centuries of real time to be where they were. [SPEAKER_00]: Did took a couple of years? [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes you got there two hundred years later. [SPEAKER_03]: And that's the where I think we should talk really more about what Warp travel was at this point because if people even you play Warhammer forty-k, Warp is really well established. [SPEAKER_03]: We all know what the Warp is, all these things. [SPEAKER_03]: They didn't at this point. [SPEAKER_03]: They just happened to stumble into this thing and they go with you, use a special ship engine and I'm going to keep bringing back the movie event horizon. [SPEAKER_03]: It's basically it's almost identical to event horizon where they had this way to jump across the galaxy and no one quite figured out why it worked or how it worked, but it did. [SPEAKER_03]: There were some downsides to it. [SPEAKER_00]: There was some casualties. [SPEAKER_00]: Also, we didn't know that there was some terrible people in the warp. [SPEAKER_00]: Also, we were making [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, so at this stage, you know, the some of the stories that they come out about this are people would go through the warp and a ship would arrive somewhere and everyone's dust because they they actually had been in the warp for millions of years and they all just aged until the entire ship disintegrated and happened to come out the other side. [SPEAKER_03]: other times the ship actually left arrived before it left because that's the war and then just for even more fun, sometimes it arrived in the wrong galaxy. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you can imagine like these people are hopping on this ship to go somewhere and you don't know what's coming out the other side. [SPEAKER_00]: The wildest thing about this thing is this is at the peak of our technology. [SPEAKER_00]: This is the peak of our knowledge. [SPEAKER_00]: where we think, oh, I can only imagine these people, we are the masters of our domain, and except for this, which we have no idea how it's made. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the all-so-tee boops. [SPEAKER_03]: And so once they arrived at the planet, though, that would they were destined to, or maybe just got to the soil system and started picking planets around them, who knows? [SPEAKER_03]: The ship they were on would actually then be broken down. [SPEAKER_03]: And that would be the star of the colony. [SPEAKER_03]: And what Brad and we talked about earlier, these astronauts who were with them would then communicate back to the original that they probably sold or could be elsewhere saying, Hey, we're here. [SPEAKER_03]: We've built a colony. [SPEAKER_03]: Send more stuff. [SPEAKER_03]: And that's how they built out. [SPEAKER_03]: You can imagine the west of America, except a wagon. [SPEAKER_03]: It's a ship. [SPEAKER_03]: It's a giant spaceship made of everything. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, so these weren't like getting involved. [SPEAKER_00]: We're doing lost in space type ships. [SPEAKER_00]: No, these are gargantuan. [SPEAKER_00]: city-sized ships. [SPEAKER_00]: So you basically went, hey, what are you traveling in? [SPEAKER_00]: Los Angeles, the ship. [SPEAKER_00]: It's that big. [SPEAKER_00]: And we have that many people on board because when we get there, this is who's living and taking care of this planet. [SPEAKER_00]: And we did that a lot. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's a big deal. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's when we started to meet people. [SPEAKER_00]: We have a lot of what the Imperial would not call lesser races. [SPEAKER_03]: So with this stage, yeah, I mean, the joke I made is we arrived on planets and some of them had occupants who weren't super cool to have to see a show up and just had neighbors who also were like, hey, [SPEAKER_03]: No. [SPEAKER_03]: And so that started some conflict. [SPEAKER_03]: The other ones is that you had whether an atmosphere there would be tamed. [SPEAKER_03]: And so one analogy I like here is plant LV-IV-V-IV-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V. [SPEAKER_00]: Also for everybody, Ellie Ford at twenty six was literally where the aliens came from. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, they didn't go from them. [SPEAKER_00]: They happened to beef. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they were there. [SPEAKER_03]: That was the tragedy. [SPEAKER_03]: We're not kind of going to play. [SPEAKER_03]: We can do another broadcast on the Prometheus and aliens movies. [SPEAKER_03]: I do like them. [SPEAKER_03]: I recognize that people don't. [SPEAKER_03]: So one thing that we need to talk about now, though, and it's been a lot of time on is SDCs, so standard template constructs. [SPEAKER_00]: which is a super, it's considered almost a holy grail in the current. [SPEAKER_00]: In this forty unit. [SPEAKER_00]: In the current timeline of the game, we're hammered forty k. STC's, if you find one, it is magic from the old times. [SPEAKER_00]: It is [SPEAKER_00]: Nethro, I'm super nerdin' up with D&D here, but it is all of the old forbidden magic, and we will get into where we are now, because it's a very archaic inquisitioned, dark ages time time, but this is almost, you could get persecuted now for having this, because it is tyrannical knowledge, it's from the time, from before us. [SPEAKER_00]: But this is a big thing, because we could make anything out of anything. [SPEAKER_00]: This is also before we had, say, rise in the nights. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it's before we had some problems with AI rising. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we'll get there. [SPEAKER_00]: You're playing mass effects and stuff happen. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, or you played any video game that involves AI at all. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're going to get there just basically the SDCs are the almost mystical level of AI. [SPEAKER_00]: They could take any problem, any situation, any circumstance, and make you have a new city, a new life, a new planet. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm a big fallout person. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a gag in a lot of ways. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what these things are. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah [SPEAKER_03]: But I'm like, what we're looking at really, I think it's important to understand about this. [SPEAKER_03]: This is how mankind was able to expand. [SPEAKER_03]: We have the ability not to move through the work. [SPEAKER_03]: We have the ability to communicate through the work. [SPEAKER_03]: But we also need to be able to land on a planet and quickly start working on it. [SPEAKER_03]: You can imagine just think about the logistics involved with having to bring everything with you. [SPEAKER_03]: The STCs work everything. [SPEAKER_03]: They work how to build a terraforming unit, how to build a building. [SPEAKER_03]: But also weapons. [SPEAKER_00]: But, yes, but also they were the downfall at the same time. [SPEAKER_00]: Do you know how to make a cell phone if you got put back into time? [SPEAKER_00]: No, exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: That unfortunately was STC's because they took care of everything. [SPEAKER_00]: Here's how we're going to do this building. [SPEAKER_00]: Here's how we're going to hit weapons, armor, agriculture, big buildings, terraform. [SPEAKER_00]: And then when we lost them, well, [SPEAKER_00]: It was a big deal, a big deal. [SPEAKER_03]: And this is, and what happened was, is that this technology is everything. [SPEAKER_03]: We are now coming into planets and mankind. [SPEAKER_03]: When we talk about expansion here, mankind goes from paleo solar system called Seoul, which is the one we all live in now to the galaxy effectively. [SPEAKER_03]: And it was almost more of a city in ten thousand years. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, ten thousand years. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, ten thousand years. [SPEAKER_00]: We took over a good fifty plus percent of the Milky Way. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not like we discovered it. [SPEAKER_00]: We were [SPEAKER_03]: They're not like one planet here and there we had we controlled solar systems throughout this area. [SPEAKER_03]: This is and it was all because these STCs and we're gonna I'm harping on them a lot because as we get through the story that is where I'm reporting gay these come up a lot and they're extremely important They also because of the astrapathaway they worked they were to share technology so as advancements were made they were shared galaxy wide in instantaneous [SPEAKER_03]: And so this allowed for even an earlier further expansion, but how are we going to next, which is the creation of the night. [SPEAKER_03]: And so we night rolls, it's a KN and I K and I GHDS night rolls. [SPEAKER_03]: So at this point, [SPEAKER_03]: mankind is started moving a bit more futile for like a better phrase all these worlds have to be run there is communication what they begin doing with the STC's building giant walking robots that can Pacific Rim Pacific Rim if any things can break up a mountain they can dig a big hole they can kill all of your enemies some of the side stories and things of that nature which are not canon but they [SPEAKER_00]: are, she doesn't say they're not, but they're written by the people. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: These things are carving out hand-ions for things like instantaneously, these have their powered by superfusion engines. [SPEAKER_03]: And these are bigger by the way than the Warhammer Forty Cainites that a lot of us are used to. [SPEAKER_03]: These are almost city-sized creatures that are moving around. [SPEAKER_03]: They can crack a planet. [SPEAKER_03]: So they could do labor. [SPEAKER_03]: They're also in existence because we are running into [SPEAKER_03]: Alien races, who are not hyper-happiness. [SPEAKER_00]: And what humans do, we make bigger stuff than everybody else. [SPEAKER_03]: So let's remove them. [SPEAKER_03]: And so right around the midpoint here, this interstellar government appears. [SPEAKER_03]: And I'm going to be honest, I've done a ton of research into this and no one can give me what it happened. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, keep this specifically. [SPEAKER_00]: vague. [SPEAKER_00]: They keep it specifically vague, but also the imperial when they refer to this officially in the imperial. [SPEAKER_00]: They make it so it's always a tale to tell tale of woe and what you're not supposed to do. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is why we don't have AI anymore. [SPEAKER_00]: You can only do. [SPEAKER_00]: This is why, and these are the awful people that didn't. [SPEAKER_00]: So when they talk about how this government works, it ended up working, and I feel that these are tales from it, because we had envelopes of terror, which were terrible. [SPEAKER_00]: People for a long time will go to that. [SPEAKER_00]: But we had people that were running the precursor of the Imperium, we started to have our society where we already talked about it with STC's. [SPEAKER_00]: But we started to give our the basis, the crux, the foundation of everyday life and even everyday expansion life, started to be fully reliant on AI. [SPEAKER_00]: when you don't have anything else to do, or that you have to do, what you start doing is wanting things that other people have. [SPEAKER_00]: You have everything, but what do you want? [SPEAKER_00]: I just want them. [SPEAKER_03]: So this is one of those stuff if you've heard this before, if I'm a sci-fi standpoint, mankind expands. [SPEAKER_03]: mankind makes the size that work is hard. [SPEAKER_03]: The size to make a bunch of robots do all the work for them. [SPEAKER_03]: That way we could work even faster. [SPEAKER_03]: And if you can't figure out what happens next, you don't play video games. [SPEAKER_00]: And also people became real shitty. [SPEAKER_00]: So the AI decided, you guys suck. [SPEAKER_03]: And this is in the Lord, these groups are referred to the men of gold, where the rulers, you'll hear the term men of gold. [SPEAKER_03]: And these terms were not real. [SPEAKER_03]: These are the terms that GW have fun trick with, where the ideas, these are stories being told. [SPEAKER_03]: The modern cities are about what happened before. [SPEAKER_03]: So they named the men of gold, the men of stone, the men of iron. [SPEAKER_00]: The men of iron is full on keenan. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah, that one's canon. [SPEAKER_03]: And so these things are men of stones. [SPEAKER_03]: And it's all, effectively, the men of iron are the ones who decide to make the AI. [SPEAKER_03]: And they decide we're going to make this great AI. [SPEAKER_03]: These robots, they're going to do all the work for us. [SPEAKER_03]: They will, they're going to tell the fields. [SPEAKER_03]: They're going to build the fact that it was beyond that, though. [SPEAKER_00]: They did legitimately everything. [SPEAKER_00]: They were in charge of all aspects of life. [SPEAKER_00]: That's why it was such a big fall because [SPEAKER_00]: You weren't even making your own plans. [SPEAKER_00]: The X everyday life was controlled by these guys, but also everything that you did. [SPEAKER_00]: Your own forces was controlled by the men of iron. [SPEAKER_00]: Your expansion, your travel was controlled by the men of iron. [SPEAKER_00]: So they were in charge of legitimately everything. [SPEAKER_00]: The only thing that they didn't have is the only reason that we're not doing the meta-viren-forty cake is, well, they didn't have psychers. [SPEAKER_03]: See you. [SPEAKER_03]: So an interesting thing, and we're going to actually explain what happened in a minute. [SPEAKER_03]: But out of nowhere, just as we said earlier, the astronauts could be born with a third eye, and mankind mutates again. [SPEAKER_03]: And we start getting what are called psychors. [SPEAKER_03]: These are just magic users for lack of a better phrase. [SPEAKER_03]: These are human magic users. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't have a better term for it. [SPEAKER_00]: But like incredibly powerful out of nowhere, the original is pull it back. [SPEAKER_00]: Just remember, the astronauts were people that were aware, a shaman, a person, a medium. [SPEAKER_00]: They could see they knew that this world existed and they could guide you through it. [SPEAKER_00]: There was nothing they were really doing. [SPEAKER_00]: They could guide you from point at a point B, which was don't get me incredibly new. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was super important. [SPEAKER_00]: But we got a new level of people who could crush a tank by thinking about it and could. [SPEAKER_03]: And they were, we talked about psychers. [SPEAKER_03]: We're also not talking what we have now in four UK psychers. [SPEAKER_03]: These were borderline gods in their power. [SPEAKER_03]: They could do. [SPEAKER_03]: It wasn't just, I can shoot some lightning out of my finger and zap you. [SPEAKER_03]: I can make the sea dry. [SPEAKER_03]: And they came out of nowhere. [SPEAKER_03]: And people were just born with this. [SPEAKER_03]: And this was all around the galaxy. [SPEAKER_03]: So random worlds. [SPEAKER_03]: were having these people appear. [SPEAKER_03]: And first, they were welcomed. [SPEAKER_00]: They were worshiped. [SPEAKER_00]: They were worshiped. [SPEAKER_00]: Originally, they were, this is the coming of the gods. [SPEAKER_00]: The Greek Pantheon just showed up. [SPEAKER_00]: Because for all practical purposes, Hera just showed up. [SPEAKER_03]: Some people didn't think they were cool. [SPEAKER_03]: I started killing them all off. [SPEAKER_03]: Which we're going to get to in a minute might have been a kind of a good idea because the one thing that no one really understood about psychors was that was where their power came from, including the psychors themselves. [SPEAKER_00]: Which is also one of the, and this is not canon, but this is a bunch of stories that which is why were these psychors so powerful. [SPEAKER_00]: Because there were so few of them in the beginning that they were basically able to pull out of this limitless source, no one else was using it. [SPEAKER_00]: And also some of the people behind it, which weren't super cool, were in their infancy in part for the vanity. [SPEAKER_00]: and they wanted them to have all. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the thing about where they're pulling this power from, there were things in the well. [SPEAKER_03]: And what began happening, a world's would go dark, because what a psycho really was, was a person who was communing with the demons. [SPEAKER_03]: It's kind of it to dark out. [SPEAKER_03]: And much like a vampire where you have to invite them in, demons can only possess [SPEAKER_03]: a being, and psychers were the type of things that sediments couldn't possess. [SPEAKER_03]: And when we say demons, we're not talking norgling. [SPEAKER_03]: We're talking real demons. [SPEAKER_03]: These things were big. [SPEAKER_03]: They were powerful, and they would come into the cycle and literally take over the entire world. [SPEAKER_03]: So this is right at the edge of the end of technology. [SPEAKER_03]: which then leads to what I'm going to effectively call the rise of the of Alexa. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_03]: You should all say thank you and please to your Alexa. [SPEAKER_03]: I really do believe that she's tracking which of us are mean and which of us are bad and she's going to turn here to kill us all. [SPEAKER_03]: Effectively, AI got fed up with our shit. [SPEAKER_00]: And basically, because AI didn't have the ability to travel, we caught him off effectively. [SPEAKER_03]: We, one of the war versus AI behind the four, we won the war. [SPEAKER_03]: What ended up happening is the straight. [SPEAKER_03]: So I turned off AI decided to not work for us. [SPEAKER_03]: All of our food stopped being all of our travel stopped happening and people's the people that were traveling. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it came lost. [SPEAKER_03]: It came lost. [SPEAKER_03]: The AI decided that it's greatest enemy was us again. [SPEAKER_03]: And if you double, you're not that clever of bulls, right? [SPEAKER_03]: I don't hook up this idea for you. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, let me be fair to you. [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe they were the first ones going for this idea. [SPEAKER_03]: All I know is I'm forward to your sold and I've heard this story a lot of times. [SPEAKER_03]: Love it every time. [SPEAKER_03]: Keep reading it every time I hear it. [SPEAKER_00]: In the biggest thing is also the only reason that the zombie movie shows become thing. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, it was the worst for people when shit starts going down. [SPEAKER_00]: kind of us, which is those people we talked about the warlords and stuff when hey, everything's terrible. [SPEAKER_00]: What should I do? [SPEAKER_00]: Be terrible to other people and take their stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: Should we band together? [SPEAKER_00]: What are you talking about? [SPEAKER_00]: I just want to take your things. [SPEAKER_03]: No, yeah, well, your things will be right back after a quick break. [SPEAKER_03]: So this leads us into the third age, which is the age of strikes. [SPEAKER_03]: This is about five thousand years. [SPEAKER_03]: So we've been talking, first we have fifteen thousand years, then we did ten thousand years and it's diminishing. [SPEAKER_03]: This is five thousand years that I'm politely going to refer to exact. [SPEAKER_00]: It was, let's talk about what I'm going to go, I'm going to back kind of just a little bit because they try to make it that the dark age of technology, but that was effectively the golden age of humanity. [SPEAKER_00]: We had a really, we had a good run. [SPEAKER_00]: We had somewhere between five and eight thousand years of the stuff's pretty awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: And then we had sometimes the word at that beginning and the end. [SPEAKER_00]: But then we get into this age of strife and the age of strife is our fall. [SPEAKER_00]: But the age of strength is also, sorry, Eldar. [SPEAKER_00]: It's also Eldar's full. [SPEAKER_00]: Hundred percent Eldar. [SPEAKER_00]: Eldar, are doing bad stuff on a galactic level. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's creating a rubble in the tummy of the warp is about the only way I can say it. [SPEAKER_03]: And they created the bad, they've added some bad oysters to the warp. [SPEAKER_00]: We have all this problem. [SPEAKER_00]: We have this AI take over. [SPEAKER_00]: We effectively fight through a bit of crush our civilization. [SPEAKER_00]: and then in the effectively in the middle of this. [SPEAKER_00]: work cut off from all of our other places because the warp travel for us doesn't exist because the warp became it went from a choppy sea to every single place in the warp was a tsunami and you could not travel at all. [SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't like travel was scary was risky. [SPEAKER_00]: There was no travel for thousands of years. [SPEAKER_00]: So all of a sudden you were in a world that only produced hubcaps and not food [SPEAKER_00]: You're a real bum that you have so many hubcaps and not a lot of food. [SPEAKER_00]: And also, we got taken over by a lot of people. [SPEAKER_00]: A lot of these people we were picking on went, hey man, you've now got hubcaps and no food and or you've got food and no weapons. [SPEAKER_03]: That was the big goal. [SPEAKER_00]: This is a really nice place. [SPEAKER_00]: And we noticed that no one's coming to help you right now. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it turns out pitchfork versus ork, not a great combo. [SPEAKER_03]: So at this stage, it all just falls apart. [SPEAKER_03]: mankind is cut off. [SPEAKER_03]: We can't travel. [SPEAKER_03]: We can't communicate. [SPEAKER_03]: We can barely feed ourselves. [SPEAKER_03]: It is just completely falling apart. [SPEAKER_03]: So of course, what happens next? [SPEAKER_03]: Civil war. [SPEAKER_03]: So now mankind gets insanely levels of violence and begins just slaughtering each other because they can. [SPEAKER_03]: because yes, yeah, which as we've touched on before that the chaos gods really helps make it and chaos has had the time of their life here because now not only do they have access to the colonies, the assicers, but also they're not getting danced that real quick. [SPEAKER_03]: Go ahead. [SPEAKER_03]: Go ahead. [SPEAKER_03]: That's basically what they're talking about. [SPEAKER_03]: And so now we've got colonies are falling to starvation, colonies are falling to civil war, colonies are falling to Xenos, and colonies are falling to just being possessed by demons. [SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, stuff's caught abad. [SPEAKER_00]: And the thing is about this in this time, and this will be a big thing when we get the thirty thousand, the Crusades. [SPEAKER_00]: Certain people that were fully functioning, solar systems of planets, [SPEAKER_00]: A lot of these things pulled together. [SPEAKER_00]: They're completely isolated. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: But systems. [SPEAKER_00]: So you had some systems. [SPEAKER_00]: We're actually so sufficient because they had agriculture. [SPEAKER_00]: They had multiple planets that did multiple things. [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes it was just one planet. [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes it was an entire system of planets. [SPEAKER_00]: But some of these people. [SPEAKER_00]: They should together, but they were still lost for thousands of years. [SPEAKER_00]: But like, we have these pockets of humanity that effectively have anywhere between dark ages to age of technology, technology. [SPEAKER_00]: And you don't know what's what they're going to have. [SPEAKER_03]: Completely long dark. [SPEAKER_03]: So then what ends up happening now is the whole thing of the warp turning off. [SPEAKER_03]: There's a big explosion over in the elder side of the galaxy. [SPEAKER_00]: You're so not doing this justice. [SPEAKER_00]: So Eldar, the elves. [SPEAKER_00]: They're on team colligula. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're on team play, but they're also they rule the other half of the galaxy and they have been doing this for millions of years. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't even consider what we're doing worth noticing. [SPEAKER_00]: because really get to them. [SPEAKER_00]: And when we do, they just, whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: So they make killings like guys, you get a slower roll, that's pretty weird, man. [SPEAKER_00]: So they're doing some weird stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: They have a society that is, we'll go into more of this in future episodes. [SPEAKER_00]: But they effectively have our STCs and things like that, our technology, they're like, oh, that's cute. [SPEAKER_00]: We think about things happening because our whole race is magic. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what they're doing, but because of that, [SPEAKER_00]: They have a connection to this warp, this chaos. [SPEAKER_00]: Everything that they do has an immediate reflection, their shadow in that. [SPEAKER_00]: And so they've been being [SPEAKER_00]: really bad, really weird for effectively millions of years, but they really ramped up the mojo at the end here in the few thousand years and they break the sky. [SPEAKER_00]: They create a dark god. [SPEAKER_00]: They make an explosion in the galaxy and explosion so large it encompasses hundreds of solar systems basically [SPEAKER_00]: the middle, the core of the Elder Civilization is instantaneously destroyed and instant. [SPEAKER_00]: All of these souls are taken away by Selenash, the new fourth casket, but in the birth, the gestation of this manifestation of basically again, [SPEAKER_00]: excess gluttony exactly it just creation of a god in the warp it clears up all of these warp storms because these five thousand years of warp storms and when we were saying warp storms again complete inability to travel [SPEAKER_03]: And the reason matters that we are talking about people being thousands of light years away from each other. [SPEAKER_03]: So, fast and light drives, get there a little bit quicker, but you're talking about, hey, let's go through, I don't know, fifty generations of people before we get to where we're driving. [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: It wasn't. [SPEAKER_00]: Or we should get there next week. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: And so this point, it called clears up. [SPEAKER_03]: So in the good side, the elder, they clear it up. [SPEAKER_03]: And so now if thanks, thanks, Eldar, what percent of them died? [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's like ninety percent. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: So most of them are dead. [SPEAKER_03]: They split in the multiple factions. [SPEAKER_03]: It's the el, the omniscient of the other took off. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, pretty bad moment for them. [SPEAKER_03]: But for mankind, hey, guys, thanks a lot. [SPEAKER_03]: You kind of know, though, the sky has cleared. [SPEAKER_00]: And this time, I think everybody did know this because we've got our outline that we go over. [SPEAKER_00]: And one of the things on the outline is effectively John telling me to shut up about all our cousins, my favorite. [SPEAKER_00]: And going, we will talk about it later, because I was about to give you guys about five hours of meat chatting about what happened with all the art. [SPEAKER_03]: There is a thing. [SPEAKER_03]: We're going to record a number of podcasts of bread talking about the fall of the old art. [SPEAKER_03]: They may or may not publish them because it may end up being a forty two hour diatribe, but it's actually interesting, but only if you're super into this. [SPEAKER_03]: I have to give him the credit. [SPEAKER_03]: I'll let him do it. [SPEAKER_03]: I'll put the microphone in front of him and let him talk. [SPEAKER_03]: I may take a nap during, you know, there's a microphone, no, my navely plugged in. [SPEAKER_03]: No, all records. [SPEAKER_03]: I want him for, you know, for think of history. [SPEAKER_03]: We'll have a recorded, but yeah, he's going to go. [SPEAKER_03]: So right at this time, this is where [SPEAKER_03]: the Emperor of mankind comes up. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so the Emperor, I lived at Blvd, it was took up long side. [SPEAKER_03]: I think we're both loving our heads because the problem with the Emperor of mankind is this is more of the most did around forever, but he kind of hasn't and then he wasn't, but he was. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and he's maybe the most important figure is most important figure in the entire universe and so they've also rewritten him a bunch of times. [SPEAKER_03]: So we're just going to go with kind of what there is about it and this all sounds contradictory and so we don't know what we're talking about. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: The emperor is somewhere around eight thousand BC to he was created, supposedly by some sort of shaman and one point in time, those Native Americans and one point in time is Mesopotamia. [SPEAKER_03]: That was one of the stories. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: GW changed that and rewrote it again. [SPEAKER_00]: But he basically he is a super juiced up guy. [SPEAKER_00]: Also after I said eight thousand BC, is he older than Brad? [SPEAKER_00]: But, all we know is he was a conglomeration of some people that wanted to make the ultimate super psychic pure, basically pure psychic entity as a human. [SPEAKER_03]: So when he comes from the right now there are two stories. [SPEAKER_03]: If you talk to people and play a forty-k long enough, there is more than two. [SPEAKER_03]: But effectively, there are two stories. [SPEAKER_03]: The first story is that mankind has been fighting chaos since the dawn. [SPEAKER_03]: And they were, we had these superpowered shamans who, I guess, were around. [SPEAKER_03]: And they, they were having a problem, effectively. [SPEAKER_03]: The chaos gods. [SPEAKER_00]: They were all, effectively, well, they're thing. [SPEAKER_00]: They are all far seniors. [SPEAKER_00]: They all saw in the future. [SPEAKER_00]: And they were creating someone for [SPEAKER_00]: way into the future humanity was going to have this huge problem and they needed the emperor and then effectively emperor was told to get ready for this huge problem, but then didn't help with any of the huge problems, silly just decided. [SPEAKER_03]: That's at this stage of the story, and when we get further into it, you'll realize, yeah, it's pretty serious. [SPEAKER_03]: Story number one, just the picture everybody up is pretty simply. [SPEAKER_03]: There were early psychers, they first saw the future, and they decided to sacrifice themselves in all of her souls to make a new super creature. [SPEAKER_03]: And that became the Emperor. [SPEAKER_03]: And then he spent thirty-eight years after they created them, just hanging out, doing his thing, not doing anything important. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, well, it's a thirty eight years. [SPEAKER_03]: Thirty a thousand thirty. [SPEAKER_03]: That was in your three years as normal. [SPEAKER_00]: This is like not helping at all. [SPEAKER_00]: No, no, like this doesn't even. [SPEAKER_00]: It's definitely the most powerful person on earth. [SPEAKER_00]: Not even close. [SPEAKER_03]: Everything we're going to discuss him doing. [SPEAKER_03]: He would have chosen to do at any time. [SPEAKER_03]: Which is early anyway, not today. [SPEAKER_03]: So has still playing Baldur's gay. [SPEAKER_03]: He got stuck. [SPEAKER_00]: Next level, computer brain. [SPEAKER_00]: He's not just a super genius. [SPEAKER_00]: He's a, I can think of thousands of things that the exact same to the most powerful cycle in the entire galaxy. [SPEAKER_03]: That is the most powerful cycle. [SPEAKER_03]: So this is the most powerful. [SPEAKER_03]: I was about to use the word mortal, but he's not even mortal, but he is being. [SPEAKER_00]: He's a professional. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, we can live forever. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's go with perpetual release. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: He can be you can kill him, but he'll just come right back. [SPEAKER_00]: He will literally reform it be there again. [SPEAKER_00]: So he's lived all of these lifetimes and when he get into the fact that he's dick for the fact that he looks like something different to everyone that's actually can't. [SPEAKER_00]: And now. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm proud about that one. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he's he remembers seeds him different. [SPEAKER_00]: Everybody basically perceives him as what they [SPEAKER_00]: They want him to be, and that's just what he is. [SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't even say. [SPEAKER_00]: So, and he also sounds like something different to everybody. [SPEAKER_00]: So, everything about him, he's a warp entity, basically. [SPEAKER_00]: He's effectively an angel slash demon on earth that could have helped us at any point in time, Emperor. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm talking to you on the moment. [SPEAKER_03]: You just chose the hang. [SPEAKER_03]: One thing that is important is that the chaos gods also sense his existence. [SPEAKER_03]: And so when we talk about the chaos gods, we're going to die more to this in later. [SPEAKER_03]: But this point, chaos gods were still forming and becoming stronger. [SPEAKER_03]: All these culminations that we're getting [SPEAKER_03]: As mankind is the cascades feed on action. [SPEAKER_03]: They feed on if you commit and you kill and you do blood loss corn is interested. [SPEAKER_03]: When mankind was just on earth, they were doing a lot of that power from their power and corn. [SPEAKER_03]: But imagine when mankind then leaves earth and goes from population of billions to trillions to I actually don't know the ones above that. [SPEAKER_03]: But we're getting into those. [SPEAKER_00]: We also get into the they've read kind of a bunch of times whether [SPEAKER_00]: The gods have always existed. [SPEAKER_00]: The gods came, just came in, only one of them do. [SPEAKER_00]: And the other ones were eternal. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: But overall, they feed off. [SPEAKER_03]: It was mankind expanded and became these things. [SPEAKER_03]: Then you go into the age of strife where mankind now is having interwar. [SPEAKER_03]: They're having plague. [SPEAKER_03]: They're having, you know, the Emperor did take his sweets and braces. [SPEAKER_03]: And so while this is happening in Egypt, strike the chaos gods again. [SPEAKER_03]: real strong because they're just getting fed with all the things that they're looking for. [SPEAKER_03]: So the cast guides have a name for them, and it's the Anatoma. [SPEAKER_03]: And they call in the Anatoma because he represents what they knew to be their greatest threat. [SPEAKER_03]: So they call in the Anatoma because he is the greatest threat to them. [SPEAKER_03]: So the other story that I should just quickly note on is he was actually just born to mortal parents and happens to just be out of pure luck for no apparent reason the most powerful being in the entire universe is just born. [SPEAKER_00]: And he's immortal and he's perpetual and he can't. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and I just think this story's lame. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's really all I want to do. [SPEAKER_00]: He just keeps coming back like he just shows up. [SPEAKER_00]: They've made a bunch of shows about that. [SPEAKER_00]: He will die. [SPEAKER_00]: He will literally be dead and just no matter what, he just comes back. [SPEAKER_03]: So from this point, we now move into kind of the last part of what we're going to cover on this episode, which is the Unification Wars. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, can we talk about the ultimate also, Rhett Khan? [SPEAKER_00]: Which one? [SPEAKER_00]: Melkador is possibly the coolest guy in the entire world. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: He's got a best friend. [SPEAKER_03]: I should mention the whole time. [SPEAKER_00]: But he's either been with for thousands of years or just a little bit. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: He's got a best friend called Melkador. [SPEAKER_03]: They just hang out a lot in all can. [SPEAKER_00]: I would say he's a Robin and we're being Batman, which is hilarious because he's wildly powerful and also perpetual can't. [SPEAKER_03]: Levin was powerful, Robin had his things. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, which one? [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, fair point. [SPEAKER_03]: All right, so there's certain Robins are better than other Robins. [SPEAKER_03]: But anyway, so he get into what's now the unification wars. [SPEAKER_03]: And so these ones, we may come back to these and derive real heavily in this and later at a later stage. [SPEAKER_03]: But for now, we're going to just move through them not quickly, but with some level of speed, we'll be right back after a quick break. [SPEAKER_03]: So, effectively, the emperor now decides that this is his time. [SPEAKER_03]: But all of humanity is on the verge of extinction, inergalactically, civil war everywhere. [SPEAKER_03]: Everything's falling apart. [SPEAKER_03]: Now is his time. [SPEAKER_00]: Who does that go this? [SPEAKER_00]: What does that do this? [SPEAKER_00]: The semi-OGW can't align on this is [SPEAKER_00]: The Emperor came out when he felt that humanity might never recover. [SPEAKER_00]: Like he feels that this is the, there's been plenty of them. [SPEAKER_00]: But this is the time when humanity might just go too far and they, there won't be a humanity kind of thing. [SPEAKER_03]: So the Emperor, of course, is still on Earth. [SPEAKER_03]: So I think we can spend some time now talking about how much fun Earth was to live on at this moment in time. [SPEAKER_00]: It was a total wasteland of people fighting it while game, but people literally fighting in the, because at the time, Earth is a planet-sized city, effectively. [SPEAKER_00]: which even converts to be a real cool city, but whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: But the things that it is just techno barbarians killing people is it's, I mean, it's fall out, but strong more structure. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, fall out versus a twisted metal versus all of these things. [SPEAKER_03]: It is can legally over. [SPEAKER_00]: It is busted. [SPEAKER_00]: Things they we broke in the planet effectively. [SPEAKER_00]: And it can't survive by itself. [SPEAKER_00]: The Earth is no longer livable without outside help. [SPEAKER_00]: We are slowly going away. [SPEAKER_00]: The Emperor gets together. [SPEAKER_00]: They juice up super soldier regimen. [SPEAKER_00]: Not quite space marines. [SPEAKER_00]: A little more crazy way more violent. [SPEAKER_03]: And it will touch on it. [SPEAKER_03]: So I'm in a little teaser here. [SPEAKER_03]: The next episode we're going to cover how these super soldiers that he made [SPEAKER_03]: Just happen to the coming to existence. [SPEAKER_03]: Don't worry. [SPEAKER_03]: We're getting that. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he average the Emperor is just another techno-abaring warlord. [SPEAKER_03]: That's what everyone assumes he is. [SPEAKER_03]: It's another person coming up except he doesn't lose. [SPEAKER_00]: But not even close. [SPEAKER_00]: he wins against everything and he's cheating because he's at access to all that old technology, which again weirdly enough he doesn't use all of it. [SPEAKER_00]: What he uses some of it has better weapons than everybody else on terror. [SPEAKER_03]: So this is where we come into a topic that I know Brad's gonna love the Thunder Warriors. [SPEAKER_03]: So Thunder Wars, again, GW, it's better at naming things later. [SPEAKER_03]: But the Thunder Warriors are his, are a genetically engineered super soldier that are completely at the whim of the Emperor. [SPEAKER_00]: They are basically enslaved berserkers. [SPEAKER_00]: They unleashes them on the populist. [SPEAKER_00]: Willy wants to win the war. [SPEAKER_00]: And they are, I don't even know better. [SPEAKER_00]: We're just merciless. [SPEAKER_00]: They just rush on stockbook. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: They are not. [SPEAKER_00]: There's no negotiations. [SPEAKER_00]: No anything when he decides to show up. [SPEAKER_00]: That's why we sit in the first kind of a dick sometimes. [SPEAKER_00]: He took back Tara by murdering every single opposing soldier. [SPEAKER_00]: period. [SPEAKER_00]: Flatlined everybody else in a bunch of random people, too, in the process. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: When you say a bunch millions upon millions of people got killed. [SPEAKER_00]: And again, not the nicest guys. [SPEAKER_00]: Super effective. [SPEAKER_00]: There's absolutely no one at the end. [SPEAKER_00]: There's nobody left. [SPEAKER_03]: And this is actually one of my favorite stories of them is that at the end, there's a final battle with another major techno or barren world whose name is escaping right now, and I apologize. [SPEAKER_03]: But according to the stories, at the end of this battle, sadly, all of the Thunderbirds, because of the very last man, he's a single one guy. [SPEAKER_03]: Every single one dies in victory, because that's usually how you win over a battle. [SPEAKER_03]: It's every one of your soldiers dies. [SPEAKER_03]: and you win. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, in a complete coincidence, the upper has a new fighting force. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm sorry, they're after. [SPEAKER_03]: The truth about what happened is they ever killed all of them. [SPEAKER_03]: Is that he, he creates these soldiers. [SPEAKER_03]: He sends them out. [SPEAKER_03]: They conquer the earth. [SPEAKER_03]: And as soon as this is done, he goes. [SPEAKER_00]: And he knows that they can't function. [SPEAKER_00]: It is new society that he pursued that he's trying to make. [SPEAKER_00]: Because he has a [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to go into the crusades. [SPEAKER_00]: The emperor wants to take back the solar system. [SPEAKER_00]: He wants to take it back in a certain way. [SPEAKER_00]: Also, at the time, he is all about technology, atheism. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to give him one prop on this. [SPEAKER_00]: He has a reason for not religion because he feels religion's catheter to cults. [SPEAKER_00]: and feed chaos feedcasts and he also has a terrible idea which isn't not going to let anybody know about castes. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't know about castes. [SPEAKER_00]: They can't get castes and you're like, that's a stupid idea. [SPEAKER_03]: Spoiler alert doesn't work. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like the superman. [SPEAKER_03]: So at this stage, we now move into what we just you call reconstruction. [SPEAKER_03]: Earth is fixed. [SPEAKER_03]: It actually is terraformed. [SPEAKER_03]: It comes back to noir. [SPEAKER_03]: Mars is re-token there in a second. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Mars is re-token, but it's actually he solidifies the earth. [SPEAKER_00]: And then from there begins, also, I'm going to give it another trap. [SPEAKER_00]: By far, my favorite piece in Forty K. Media, the last church. [SPEAKER_00]: Watch it on YouTube. [SPEAKER_00]: It's all sporia. [SPEAKER_03]: So then begins a thousand years called the Great Crucine. [SPEAKER_03]: And the Great Crucine is really less of a crusade and more of a unification. [SPEAKER_03]: But I'm going to use the GW terms to the ones that they want to use. [SPEAKER_03]: at this stage and per mankind is fixed at home. [SPEAKER_03]: So then we have to go to Mars. [SPEAKER_03]: And we can do too much time on Mars. [SPEAKER_03]: But I want you to give people a quick break down of what's been going on Mars this whole time. [SPEAKER_03]: Wow. [SPEAKER_00]: So Mars, we want to get into what's there. [SPEAKER_00]: Mars has a super advanced entity that's on Mars and they're effectively just using that. [SPEAKER_00]: I know we've never seen that in a sci-fi either. [SPEAKER_00]: and they are just imparting themselves into machines. [SPEAKER_00]: They are literally being machines and they worship the machine god and the emperor shows up and because he's the ultimate psych or the universe and he basically make anybody think anything because you see him as what you want to see him as they think that he is effectively [SPEAKER_00]: the avatar of the machine died and go done. [SPEAKER_00]: You are now our new leader. [SPEAKER_03]: The one thing that's going well for Morris this whole time is, well, all this crap's going on earth. [SPEAKER_03]: Morris actually is doing okay. [SPEAKER_03]: They're a weird cold who keep cutting their arms off and putting robot arms on themselves, but they got their thing. [SPEAKER_00]: Weirdly enough, even though [SPEAKER_00]: And this is where it gets super backwards, though. [SPEAKER_00]: Even though Mars is all about technology, they worship the technology as opposed to understanding and forwarding the technology. [SPEAKER_00]: So they're basically never pushing technology for it and they don't know exactly how some of it works because they now revered as their God. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's holy. [SPEAKER_00]: So they won't take apart things to figure out how they work. [SPEAKER_00]: They just do everything in their power to keep some of their machines working. [SPEAKER_00]: They are backwards basically. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't even know how a lot of their stuff works because they're not allowed to ask because it's the holy machine. [SPEAKER_00]: It's the holy toaster. [SPEAKER_00]: And you kind of make sure that the toaster works at all time. [SPEAKER_00]: You're like, how does it work? [SPEAKER_00]: And we will murder you forever. [SPEAKER_03]: If you open that toaster up, we are going to cut every piece of your body. [SPEAKER_03]: So from there at this stage, the Emperor shows up the Mars and he makes a treat. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, let's pause on that real quick. [SPEAKER_00]: Why he wants Mars? [SPEAKER_00]: While there's still backwards, Mars is effectively an entire planet. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a forge. [SPEAKER_00]: The entire planet is a manufacturing. [SPEAKER_00]: So he needs this to start his quest efforts. [SPEAKER_00]: Yep. [SPEAKER_00]: It came in, the closest planet to me apparently just blanks out war machines. [SPEAKER_00]: I need that. [SPEAKER_03]: This is where the treaty happened. [SPEAKER_03]: So this point, the emperor makes a treaty with the cult mechanics, which gets because this is a very important treaty on everything we're going to talk about my mankind going forward. [SPEAKER_03]: Because this is this partnership is massive. [SPEAKER_03]: This partnership, not just because of what it grants both of them, but because of the stage, it sets. [SPEAKER_03]: for a lot of the future. [SPEAKER_00]: And they also weirdly have a bunch of stuff ready. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they argue about whether he was already manipulating them somehow from a planet away, but you get to Mars and they're like, Hey, we've got all this these warm machines and a bunch of spaceships. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we're just, were you guys gonna go somewhere at them? [SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_03]: No, we're just building your board. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, very much. [SPEAKER_03]: Can I have them? [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, go nuts. [SPEAKER_03]: So the emperor, I made some notes. [SPEAKER_03]: We keep track of the emperor is basically getting war gear. [SPEAKER_03]: He's getting weapons. [SPEAKER_03]: He's getting giant nightnights, titans. [SPEAKER_00]: Spaceships and titans are a big thing to do because titans are all of the closest thing you're gonna get to the old [SPEAKER_00]: robots back in the age of technology because times are effectively marching cities. [SPEAKER_00]: They have their own economies. [SPEAKER_00]: They literally have their gigantic. [SPEAKER_00]: That's a real thing. [SPEAKER_03]: They're really cool. [SPEAKER_03]: They're really cool. [SPEAKER_03]: So then, and he also then gets foreshadowing here the ability to create his own super soldiers with genetic engineering and genetic manipulation a little bit of foreshadow there. [SPEAKER_00]: Also, from the age of technology, you're a liar. [SPEAKER_00]: You were there for it. [SPEAKER_00]: It was going on. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: But the cult mechanic and what they get back is to keep being weird. [SPEAKER_03]: So the emperor is not going to make them act like the way he wants the rest of society act. [SPEAKER_03]: But also, they get the thing they want more thing, which is more technology to worship. [SPEAKER_03]: So the contract is, and this is the reason we bring this is really important for some later events. [SPEAKER_00]: Call of Prime Minister. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: The cause of this, they get to go to the stars with mankind. [SPEAKER_03]: And as we find technology, they get to take it and bring it back to Mars to be part of their concrete technology. [SPEAKER_00]: No, because for them, and they have some short stories where they've just kept STCs away from them. [SPEAKER_00]: But they want [SPEAKER_00]: these STC blueprints because they are legitimately for them, the Holy Grail. [SPEAKER_00]: This is their life quest of their entire chemical mechanics is to get this old technology and to continue on. [SPEAKER_03]: So effectively, mankind gets weapons technology and manufacturing and the people are getting it from [SPEAKER_03]: get to come along for a ride and study rocks, like an archeologist. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_03]: I guess it was a good deal. [SPEAKER_03]: That brings us to the conclusion of this episode. [SPEAKER_03]: So next week's to a quick recap, mankind rolls. [SPEAKER_03]: mankind fethel a leader arose and pulled it from the darkness and now it's ready to rise again probably not so the next episode is going to be the last piece of history up until what we would come through the somewhat modern part of forty k so this is what's called the great crusade and the great crusade is [SPEAKER_00]: really the launching point of modern forty k recalkery of the galaxy but also the reunification of those again super soldiers the emperor made oh yeah the leaders of all of those remember that we talked about cast wanted to make sure that didn't happen [SPEAKER_03]: So what's going to happen? [SPEAKER_03]: And that's our next step, so it's going to be the great for us. [SPEAKER_03]: So thank you for listening to an Forty K. Laura cast. [SPEAKER_03]: Again, I am John. [SPEAKER_03]: This is Brad. [SPEAKER_03]: This guy. [SPEAKER_03]: And we will see you next time. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah, like and subscribe. [SPEAKER_03]: That's a thing. [SPEAKER_00]: Please.
