Dial 'N' For Nerder (S19E14)
It's another murder mystery! This time our dear pal Martin Prince is the victim in question...or is he? Honestly, a perfectly fine episode where logic kinda falls apart at the end. The "Sneaker" parody was a nice throwback though.
We also discuss the genius songwriting of the Black Eyed Peas, our fear of Komodo Dragons, the dial-up internet sound and more.

<v Speaker 1>Greetings my friends. Yeah, this beguiling lute solo will ease <v Speaker 1>your metamorphoses. <v Speaker 2>It's a tape. <v Speaker 3>Mine must have said it to go off when the <v Speaker 3>chrysalis is hatched. <v Speaker 2>Now, if I may minute your mother's beating, call clown a. <v Speaker 1>Cloud, Click clo clown again. Thank you, four finger discount dude, <v Speaker 1>welcome to four figure discount where this week we're going <v Speaker 1>to be reviewing episode fourteen of season nineteen of the Simpsons. <v Speaker 2>It is dial and for murder. I'm Deno and I <v Speaker 2>am mighty whitey whitey whitey. Okay, guys, yes, do you <v Speaker 2>wear tidy whities? Never have? Actually? Now count anyma. I <v Speaker 2>want jocks. We call them jox here we do go <v Speaker 2>on job. Of course I wore jocks. Blue ringers, we <v Speaker 2>used to call them when I was a young man. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>blue en doctor puses. They're the deadly ones, right, blue <v Speaker 2>en doctor pus. Well they were very unpleasant. I thought <v Speaker 2>they could kill you, blue end doctor puss. They possibly can. <v Speaker 2>Everything can kill you in Australia. Everything can kill you <v Speaker 2>in Australia, including podcasting. Yes, stop pushing me so harsh schedules. Yes, no, <v Speaker 2>I wore what Americans called Tardi white is. But they <v Speaker 2>had blue rings around the say around the rim. But <v Speaker 2>you don't want to be talking about underpants and rim <v Speaker 2>in the same sentence. Not on this podcast anyway. Tune <v Speaker 2>into the four figure discount after midnight. Yeah, but the waistband, <v Speaker 2>That's what I was thinking. What if they call you <v Speaker 2>the rim? I've got no idea. I've got a rim <v Speaker 2>on the brain. Again, don't do that. But I wore <v Speaker 2>blue ringers. I think you'd be hard pressed to find <v Speaker 2>a young man who didn't. Back when we were growing up. <v Speaker 2>They sound I'm not popular, I have to wear boxer shorts. <v Speaker 2>They sound like a brand of condoms. Blue ringers, blue <v Speaker 2>ring it's got any blues? Did you ever call them frangers? No? <v Speaker 2>I don't know if they's just as long as all <v Speaker 2>these little running around. For that reason, I didn't know <v Speaker 2>they were called condoms until later. But okay, yeah, we <v Speaker 2>call them dingers. Oh okay, dingers. I don't know why. <v Speaker 2>I guess they're going new diingerling. Maybe maybe put them <v Speaker 2>on there like charmers and skinning. It's it's a it's <v Speaker 2>a regional thing. It's original dial I'm promic and I've <v Speaker 2>never heard I'm called Frangers, dial in for murder. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>let's stop talking about underpants and condoms. Yeah, let's move <v Speaker 2>above the waist. I had memories of watching this one <v Speaker 2>when it was first on. I do remember. <v Speaker 4>I remember they marketed this as someone from The Simpsons <v Speaker 4>is going to be killed, and you're like, oh wow, marketing, yes, <v Speaker 4>and whenever they they've cried way too many times now <v Speaker 4>for me to care, because they've done that. They did <v Speaker 4>it with Hummer's mother. <v Speaker 2>They killed more Flanders, more Flanders. That was another. That <v Speaker 2>was the big one. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, and then it was season twenty six. I reckon <v Speaker 4>it was maybe even earlier. Crusty's dad passed away. Most <v Speaker 4>beloved character is going to be dead, and you're like, <v Speaker 4>oh my god, who is it? And it's Crusty's dad <v Speaker 4>And I'm. <v Speaker 2>Like, I get it. Nice character, but he's not a <v Speaker 2>main character. Everyone was doing that voice. Yeah, bleeding gums movie. <v Speaker 2>Does he count? Oh? He does count? <v Speaker 4>Of course he does bleeding gums Murphy, but he was <v Speaker 4>never popular as as that's the joke from this the <v Speaker 4>Deth episode Spectacula the Like which Dodtor Marv Monroe as well, <v Speaker 4>like before we go to the break silhouettes wish to <v Speaker 4>wish to popular characters died on The Simpsons. It's like <v Speaker 4>if you said bluding Gums Murphy and doctor Marv Monroe, <v Speaker 4>you'd be wrong. They were never popular. I just remember <v Speaker 4>having thoughts though, and when Martin passed away, I thought, well, <v Speaker 4>that's you know when at first and I thought, oh, <v Speaker 4>that's quite shocking. He's you'd say, a popular character on <v Speaker 4>the show. I would say, so, yeah, when it comes <v Speaker 4>to the kids, and I remember when they first I <v Speaker 4>have memory is when they played that tribute at the funeral. <v Speaker 2>I didn't get an emotional what I kind of thought, <v Speaker 2>this is actually sad. That's what we call the magic <v Speaker 2>of Sarah McLaughlin. Yeah. <v Speaker 4>I was just like, ah, you put it put like <v Speaker 4>usually this time of your life when someone's leaving or whatever, <v Speaker 4>not for a funeral. <v Speaker 2>But you know, was it The. <v Speaker 4>Seinfeld finale had it. There's a few other shows. The <v Speaker 4>time of your life is like a song where people <v Speaker 4>leaving for school. Now's there a good riddance? Yes, good <v Speaker 4>as that love change? Like graduation song yeah by Vitamin C. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, that was massive when it was like going through <v Speaker 4>high school every year, the end of the year it's <v Speaker 4>just like I. <v Speaker 2>Was leaving as that love change. You know what else <v Speaker 2>was massive might crush on see, yeah she was hot, <v Speaker 2>But I remember being quite sad when Martin and then <v Speaker 2>they status quite back at the end. I think if <v Speaker 2>Martin had died here, granted fixed the way he died <v Speaker 2>it was too comical, right, but if they'd have killed Martin, <v Speaker 2>I think it wouldn't have been quite impactful. Oh absolutely, yeah, <v Speaker 2>no's he's certainly part of the furniture and yeah, being <v Speaker 2>the dorcasmall of as that is, we are Martin in <v Speaker 2>many ways. Oh yeah, you got a soft spot for <v Speaker 2>the guy, and it's clear that the characters do as well, <v Speaker 2>even even Nelson. Yeah like puts his detective hat on <v Speaker 2>and gets his magnifying glass out, burns some ants, but <v Speaker 2>then it gets down to the investigation. <v Speaker 4>I reckon he was Bart's first enemy on the show <v Speaker 4>because Martin most because he's the one that called out <v Speaker 4>a terrible speller too, the winner this. <v Speaker 2>A sloppy speller. Yet I think I was on board <v Speaker 2>with the kid from there. <v Speaker 4>It was such a little pompers shithead. He's not as <v Speaker 4>pompous now. He's more of a kicking a punching bag. <v Speaker 4>But back then he was just I'm better than you <v Speaker 4>and you know it. <v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, I mean what's he running for? Didn't run <v Speaker 2>the class president against bart Yeah, that's right, Myra Asbestos, <v Speaker 2>I see my asbestus. I think I think it was <v Speaker 2>quite a bracing moment for me when I realized, oh, <v Speaker 2>I'm kind of on Martin Prince Society. I too would <v Speaker 2>want to stock the school library with the ABC as <v Speaker 2>am of Bradbury and who who's the sea to see Clark? Okay, <v Speaker 2>it's like, what about Red Bradbury. I'm aware of his work. <v Speaker 2>I love that. But yeah, I think I think you're right. <v Speaker 2>I think it would be if you were going to <v Speaker 2>take Martin off the table, wiping off the board, so <v Speaker 2>to speak. Yeah, you'd want to do it in a <v Speaker 2>little more of a less cartoonish way than I Almost <v Speaker 2>feel though you kind of have to do it this <v Speaker 2>way because if it's real, then it's sort of it sucks. <v Speaker 4>All the humor out of the show. And then how <v Speaker 4>could you ever laugh if they don't die in a <v Speaker 4>funny way, how can you then? I mean more, Flaners <v Speaker 4>was completely comical, but if if she just got hit <v Speaker 4>by a car, and be like oh ship, well yeah. <v Speaker 2>It's good storytelling and that it's a wrong foots you <v Speaker 2>the way the more flannersy does like look after the <v Speaker 2>you know what is it? The T shirt? Gun? T <v Speaker 2>shirt gun? Oh goodness me, that's not going to hurt anything. <v Speaker 2>Oh knocked her off? I think, yeah, he's like, oh <v Speaker 2>he played a prank and fell clipping. <v Speaker 4>Oh shit, terrible way. Yes to that stadium, by the way, <v Speaker 4>sit in the back road is fourth for the edge <v Speaker 4>of the stuff. <v Speaker 2>Yeah great, not great. <v Speaker 4>Speaking of we went to Marvel Stadium last week for <v Speaker 4>the AFL football. Good day for the footy, No, no, <v Speaker 4>last week was bad day for the foot bad day <v Speaker 4>for too long, but winning at half time. <v Speaker 2>Oh that's right. We played down here last week. It's <v Speaker 2>the stadium with the roof. We were top at the <v Speaker 2>top level, right, and we'll second row from the front. <v Speaker 2>The top tier is so tiered in a what's the <v Speaker 2>term looking for here? A steep way? Right, it's very steep. <v Speaker 2>I'm sitting there going if I stand up, am I <v Speaker 2>going to fall over this? Right? The railinness does not <v Speaker 2>feel like it's high enough. At the front there, they're <v Speaker 2>like metal bars that go across you. Can see three <v Speaker 2>of your sitting in the front road, but if you <v Speaker 2>stand up, it's just a waist heigh, And I thinking <v Speaker 2>that's a fucking drop right, like you're in a theme <v Speaker 2>park ride. Yeah, I was wed think you're concerned, understand. Yeah. <v Speaker 2>I wonder if the different levels of Marvel stadiums. I <v Speaker 2>wonder if they got like code names for them, like <v Speaker 2>hero at once, Like if you've got front row seats, <v Speaker 2>they're like get our Iron Man, well Captain America or something, <v Speaker 2>and then wave the back you're like Hawker O great, <v Speaker 2>you always all right? I feel bad for Jeremy rena good, <v Speaker 2>good actor, and I like the character of Hawky that <v Speaker 2>you did a pretty good becase you're covered now from <v Speaker 2>his accident apparently, so Yeah, thoughts and prayers go out <v Speaker 2>to Jeremy. He legitimately niarly died there being hit by snowplow. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>that's great. And he was trying to rescue somebody, wasn't <v Speaker 2>you know? The break went off and he was trying <v Speaker 2>to stop it or something like the superhero that he is. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, but no, it only became Marvel Stadium two years ago. <v Speaker 4>It's been a stadium for like twenty years. <v Speaker 2>Now that was Eddie had. Before that it was Colonial <v Speaker 2>Stadium originally, and then it was the Telstra Dome that <v Speaker 2>was that, and you had that was colonial and then <v Speaker 2>Black Panther said, no, colonized, and. <v Speaker 4>It was then it was Eddie had. Then it was <v Speaker 4>the touch to Dome, the dome. Just we're gone to <v Speaker 4>the dome. Don't I find an arena? I'd call it <v Speaker 4>the dome. Domes is so much more cooler than stadium, <v Speaker 4>in my opinion, gone to the dome. <v Speaker 2>Oh tels to dome. They both have their merits, they <v Speaker 2>both have their their good points. I like the stadium <v Speaker 2>sounds great soum sounds, grand sounds. The dome sound it's fun, <v Speaker 2>sounds like your gladiator, whereas if you I'm competing at <v Speaker 2>the Dome today, it's like you're doing roll the ball. <v Speaker 2>I was going to say, you're in the running man. <v Speaker 2>I was going to say the same thing. Yeah, they <v Speaker 2>have sent me to the dome. He my favorite. Did <v Speaker 2>you have any favorite moments in the episode? I did? Actually, <v Speaker 2>what did you other way? Did we mention crying a <v Speaker 2>little while? Well, we mentioned you're getting a little mistic. <v Speaker 2>I've got a little mistic this morning, and I'll tell <v Speaker 2>you why just quickly diversion Zach. Feel free to edit out, <v Speaker 2>please don't. It's worthwhile. I like it. I was just like, <v Speaker 2>let's get back on track, and you're like, first of all, <v Speaker 2>but that's not what's the trailer for Super slash Man, <v Speaker 2>The Christopher Reeves Story documentary about Christopher Reeve. Oh shit, <v Speaker 2>was too early, too wearly for me to be crying <v Speaker 2>like this. Guys like, oh. <v Speaker 4>Damn, yeah, it just seems like such a perfect human being. <v Speaker 2>Well yeah, but also yeah, living this really active life. <v Speaker 2>I mean, of course he had that terrible accident when <v Speaker 2>he was a questrian, right was nine in the nineties, <v Speaker 2>was it, I believe so yeah, but was he paral <v Speaker 2>or quadriplegic? Quadriplegic. Yeah, but I was saying, oh, yeah, <v Speaker 2>you love to say I love to ski, really really <v Speaker 2>active guy, and it was like, in a minute, in <v Speaker 2>a second, it's just not one. And yeah, he's feeling <v Speaker 2>all damned like maybe I should just go. And his <v Speaker 2>wife was like, no, you're still You're like, oh my god, <v Speaker 2>this is so lovely. So yeah, I'll be I'll be <v Speaker 2>saying that when it comes out, and I think you <v Speaker 2>should do and maybe you as well. What did I <v Speaker 2>have to do with anything? Nothing? Oh, it made me sad, <v Speaker 2>just like Martin Prince's memorial servers made you say there, <v Speaker 2>I was just how I'm trying to bond when you <v Speaker 2>know I too have emotions thedo do you? Yeah, they're <v Speaker 2>mostly just rage and self. Don't know your social media <v Speaker 2>it's always just anger. How what is this tripe? Well? Yeah, <v Speaker 2>twisters was crap? What do you want to say? Do <v Speaker 2>you any of you've seen Twisters? I didn't like it? <v Speaker 4>Do you find you're more inclined to go on Twitter <v Speaker 4>or tweet about something that you don't like? Then what <v Speaker 4>you do? If you like something, you just sit there <v Speaker 4>and enjoy it. But if you don't like something like <v Speaker 4>I have to venture my frustration about this, well it's <v Speaker 4>the polar opposite. <v Speaker 2>And it's like, this is really good and I think <v Speaker 2>I should share it. Do you ever feel that way? Though? Certainly? <v Speaker 2>Do you ever go I have to tell her one <v Speaker 2>how much I like this? Or is it I've got event? Yeah? Absolutely, yeah, <v Speaker 2>this is very good and I would like to let <v Speaker 2>everyone know that I think it's good and that I <v Speaker 2>think you should enjoy this also, or this is terrible, <v Speaker 2>avoid at all costs. Okay, that's how that is? That <v Speaker 2>how you feel. <v Speaker 4>I very rarely go on social media for my own <v Speaker 4>personal stuff. Ever, it's just podcasts related content, had occasional <v Speaker 4>photos of the kids. I but if you didn't do <v Speaker 4>these reviews, the things that you do, like, I would <v Speaker 4>never have found deep rising. <v Speaker 2>Correct. I'm here to help. But before we do that, <v Speaker 2>did I have favorite moms? I certainly did. Yes. I <v Speaker 2>was a fan of the term's bedroom pazaz and snacking <v Speaker 2>off in the bathroom because like kind of snack off? Yeah, <v Speaker 2>who among us? Would you ever eat in a toilet? <v Speaker 2>Not in a toilet, but sitting in the toilet? Would <v Speaker 2>you ever eat in there? No? No, I don't think <v Speaker 2>I could eat it. No, I've eaten in the shower before. <v Speaker 2>Have you been in the shower? Nember eaten in the shower? <v Speaker 2>I've had a beer in the shower. How great is it? <v Speaker 2>It's so good, so awesome, hot day, hard work, cold beer, <v Speaker 2>the shaft, warm shower. Yeah, but hard but we both mean, <v Speaker 2>you know, sitting on the ass is doing nothing on <v Speaker 2>the computer talking about the st first, it's a big <v Speaker 2>cold beer. I really enjoyed the ridiculousness of sneakers because <v Speaker 2>it was this is obviously you take on cheeks, Checken <v Speaker 2>cheats cheatas cheeks. I nicolar. They never never heard of <v Speaker 2>this show before, right, because I was I've forgotten all <v Speaker 2>about them to you just reminded me. <v Speaker 4>Just then I said, to do you there's a show <v Speaker 4>when there was cheatings. She goes it was like, really, <v Speaker 4>it was huge on Fox starts. Fox's got comps Cheaters. <v Speaker 4>There's another similar kind of thing, and they'd rock it, <v Speaker 4>rock up and sometimes the guy like non the camera <v Speaker 4>on me sometimes, but I'm not doing nothing, not what are. <v Speaker 2>You talking about? You're crazy watching watching I just came <v Speaker 2>here to talk about video games. <v Speaker 4>The majority of the time it was men cheating on <v Speaker 4>the wife, the one that I saw anyway, and just <v Speaker 4>watching the Cogs and a Hea work out. How am <v Speaker 4>I going to talk my way out of this one? <v Speaker 2>How am I going to talk my way out of <v Speaker 2>this in real time? So we've been watching a lot <v Speaker 2>of mad Men lately, and I'm just like, oh see, <v Speaker 2>old Don Droper would never survive if there was cheaters <v Speaker 2>back in the nineteen sixties. No, Don would talk his <v Speaker 2>way out. But don't Don thinks on his feet. He's <v Speaker 2>horrible human being. I'm not a fan Don Draper at all. <v Speaker 2>He is a pos yes, a prince of sales. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>goodbye puldn't it. He's I just a ship person. He's <v Speaker 2>a bit of a ship person. He's a complicated man. <v Speaker 2>He's a ship person. He's a ship person. He was <v Speaker 2>also a good person in some ways. He if it <v Speaker 2>suits him, yeah, yeah, if he's gonna benefit from it, <v Speaker 2>of course, you do something good. I find him compelling <v Speaker 2>to watch, and as I'm going to continue watching mad <v Speaker 2>Men because of that. <v Speaker 4>We we're up to season just nearly season three. Now <v Speaker 4>we're smashing through it. Really, I think the most interesting <v Speaker 4>character on the show for me, the most slight detO here, <v Speaker 4>the most. <v Speaker 2>Oh oh it's okay when you do hard to work. <v Speaker 4>Out character is Pete Campbell. Of course I was like, <v Speaker 4>what is this guy's problem? <v Speaker 2>How many times have I said, you know, when I <v Speaker 2>when I dropped names about you know, interviewing Matthew The <v Speaker 2>correct spelling is why you interviewed him? I did when <v Speaker 2>mad Men first started, and he as weird as a character. No, no, <v Speaker 2>he was actually pretty good, although apparently he's a complicated <v Speaker 2>dude as well in real life. But I said, I'd <v Speaker 2>like to think I'm Don Dreer, but I'm pretty sure <v Speaker 2>I'm Pete Camblell. Oh you've told me we are are <v Speaker 2>like feel Better Man Man, Good Show. We should probably <v Speaker 2>do it on Good Show, Good Show. We should do <v Speaker 2>it on TV launch pot. Yes. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, well, just at the moment, we've got the poll <v Speaker 4>up for the we've gone with the OC and Gossip <v Speaker 4>Girl is winning at the moment. Yeah, for twentys of <v Speaker 4>teen dramas, OC is definitely it's gonna full stop. X. <v Speaker 2>What else did I enjoy about dal Infanet? I had <v Speaker 2>five favorite moments. I mentioned Sarah mcglonkin earlier. You know, <v Speaker 2>I always like hearing her one of Counda's best exports. <v Speaker 2>I think my favorite funny moment from the episode was, uh, <v Speaker 2>Wigham at at the base of the chasm or the <v Speaker 2>or wherever it is the cliff, Lou says, and you <v Speaker 2>meant to inform them, what do you think I'm doing now? <v Speaker 2>It gives a big smile to the camera. That was great. <v Speaker 2>It's definitely dead, definitely definitely dead. I would attend to <v Speaker 2>the Tajma All you can eat yes, that's a great <v Speaker 2>name for a restaurant. It is. I think my favorite <v Speaker 2>part was the shout out to the NBC Mystery Movie <v Speaker 2>over the at the at the very end that this <v Speaker 2>is where they said, you know, so and so plays <v Speaker 2>Colombo and someone. So I thought it must have been <v Speaker 2>like a Colombo reference. Was this was a thing that <v Speaker 2>NBC did in the seventies, So it wasn't the Colombo <v Speaker 2>that was Colombo closing credits. No, no Ah, MBSD this <v Speaker 2>thing on a Sunday and a Wednesday night where I <v Speaker 2>don't think this character warrants a whole series, but we <v Speaker 2>or maybe this series is over, the character is still popular. <v Speaker 2>We're just gonna do like telling movies like it's a <v Speaker 2>Columbo mystery on Sunday night, or you know, it's a <v Speaker 2>McLoud mystery on Wednesday night, and then yeah, it sort <v Speaker 2>of have a bit of a round robin of these <v Speaker 2>various crime fighters. So I want a Sunday Night. You <v Speaker 2>tune is like, oh, it's a mystery. You know, it's <v Speaker 2>a little longer than your average episode, and I don't know, <v Speaker 2>like like Jack and Lost, we need to go back. <v Speaker 4>That's what I liked about this episode In general, it's <v Speaker 4>just the vibe of the mystery. Always say I love <v Speaker 4>a good mystery, and I don't think I want to <v Speaker 4>ask you if you were watching this not knowing what <v Speaker 4>was going to be coming up right, knowing that Martin survived, <v Speaker 4>do you think Martin was dead? Do you think you <v Speaker 4>would have watched this for in real time? For the <v Speaker 4>first time, I thought maybe Martin was actually dead. <v Speaker 2>I have written down when Martin first lands on the <v Speaker 2>ledge and then he balls out a very big cliff, <v Speaker 2>like a Looney Tunes side clip. By the way, that's <v Speaker 2>the other thing that I did. Springfield has lovely vistas, yeah, <v Speaker 2>literally countryside. Yes, it's a great Springfield forest. Yeah, it's lovely. <v Speaker 2>But when he takes that big clip, big fall off <v Speaker 2>the cliff, I'm like, I found to see how they're <v Speaker 2>getting it. It was like, does Homie going down the gorge? Yeah, <v Speaker 2>very much so. And when you have that, you need <v Speaker 2>to have a resolution that's probably just as cartoonish. That's <v Speaker 2>what I thought. The only sort of nippick for me <v Speaker 2>was I get that you know that he was saved <v Speaker 2>from the fall, from the impact of the fall, but <v Speaker 2>he's underwear, but he was hitting that Mountain, the whole <v Speaker 2>way down. Where's the cuts? He was gone? Bag bag? Also, <v Speaker 2>how was he going big bag? Maybe it speaks to <v Speaker 2>Martin's character. I'm assuming that his butterfly enclosure. <v Speaker 4>Is at his house, in his backyard. I think, yeah, <v Speaker 4>we see, I'm going to Martin's house to end it all. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, so he's back home, and I'm assuming he's been <v Speaker 2>there for a little while to go inside. Why has <v Speaker 2>he changed out of his modesty? I was so confused. <v Speaker 2>Still it feels good, do it? Yeah? Anyway your question, <v Speaker 2>or was it that he had just arrived back in <v Speaker 2>the nick of time? I don't think so. It seemed <v Speaker 2>like he'd been there for a while. I think it <v Speaker 2>felt like he'd been there for a while. Yeah, anyway, <v Speaker 2>In response to your question, Yeah, no, I didn't think <v Speaker 2>it was much of a mystery. And if I thought <v Speaker 2>that he was actually dead, I don't know. <v Speaker 4>Well, I think they were trying to make you think <v Speaker 4>that he was the one sitting there playing the lute, right, Yeah, <v Speaker 4>it's loot right, loot loots. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. <v Speaker 4>And then when it was revealed as Nelson, you're going, ah, <v Speaker 4>it actually is dead. <v Speaker 2>Interesting twists, Yes, yes, but then he just rocks up <v Speaker 2>in his modest skirt. I think of the b plot <v Speaker 2>by the way, but ding and search, I mean, we <v Speaker 2>cannot relate to him being on a diet and failing it, <v Speaker 2>right well? Yeah, true, it seems to all these diets <v Speaker 2>I haven't finished. <v Speaker 4>It seemed a bit far fetched, the whole it never <v Speaker 4>I don't like about modern Simpsons. I mean, that's what <v Speaker 4>we're doing now. Is that Marge goes, I've just hired <v Speaker 4>so and so where from? With what money? Why would <v Speaker 4>it come to the Simpsons house. It's just like we <v Speaker 4>need a celebrity cameo. <v Speaker 2>Who was this? Yeah? Was it a celebrity cameo? I think <v Speaker 2>I'm assumed that the dietitian with somebody, right well, she <v Speaker 2>looked like Martha Stewart, But I don't think it was Marth. <v Speaker 2>I mean, there's no the only guest name in it <v Speaker 2>is is Marshall Wallace. Assume. I mean, I'm guessing that <v Speaker 2>the host of Cheetahs is Hanker's area and Betsy Bidwell. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>Betsy Bidwell. <v Speaker 4>This is like we've I've hired nutrition's Betsy Bidwell. Why <v Speaker 4>what just it just seems random? <v Speaker 2>Added the blue I think my problem with it as well. <v Speaker 2>Was there's no sort of forward moment or there's no <v Speaker 2>Homer is not conflicted at all, one extreme to the other. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>because I mean it's like I certainly know when I <v Speaker 2>was a bit heavier than I am now, still pred heavy, <v Speaker 2>but still it really does affect your bedroom, bazaz and <v Speaker 2>when that happens, like, shit, gotta do something about this, yeah, immediately. Yeah. <v Speaker 2>The fact that Homer is no, no, no, not taking it seriously. <v Speaker 2>Maybe just hit too close to home or it's like <v Speaker 2>I don't know, at least feel some guilt about it. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>you know, meeting Bill Peppers. But I'm also you know, <v Speaker 2>got my souls a briefcase phil conflicted about it as <v Speaker 2>much as you Nick's Nicksnick. <v Speaker 4>But let's be honest, we've all gone to die and cheated, <v Speaker 4>right Oh yeah, absolutely, Yeah, It's. <v Speaker 2>Just that's who we are. Ask people. Yeah. But if <v Speaker 2>it's I it's something that's seemingly this serious, and that's <v Speaker 2>the morning after that, it's the next day, I guess, so. <v Speaker 2>But for yeah, for margin at the end to go, <v Speaker 2>it doesn't matter. I love it was like's still going <v Speaker 2>to be, you know, a dud in the sack, you <v Speaker 2>know the dud. At least they sort of tied it <v Speaker 2>up well where it wasn't just I guess so, yeah, <v Speaker 2>because it was almost a case of I think it <v Speaker 2>was more an indictment of shows like Sneakers as opposed. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, it was taking the mick out of those shows. Yeah, <v Speaker 4>but I was going to talk about something before you continue. <v Speaker 2>There, it come back to it. It'll come back to me. <v Speaker 2>I was going to talk about something important before you <v Speaker 2>started talking shit. No, no, no, man, we'll get to it. <v Speaker 2>We'll get to it. But basically, yeah, so home, So <v Speaker 2>the setup is that Home is bad in bed. Oh no, <v Speaker 2>he's just is lacking energy. <v Speaker 4>I did like the line though, of one of my <v Speaker 4>favorite moments of New Diet. <v Speaker 2>What about the other ones? I haven't finished yet? I <v Speaker 2>still have I haven't finished makes sense? It doesn't? Yes? <v Speaker 2>Did you know that? <v Speaker 4>By supporting our show on Patreon, you get access to <v Speaker 4>four exclusive podcasts per month, including Talking sign Fold, Tales <v Speaker 4>of Futurama, Speaking of the Hill, and The Movie Guys. <v Speaker 4>Plus you also get early and add free access to <v Speaker 4>four Finger discount Going Down to south Park TV launch Pod, <v Speaker 4>and the one about Friends. Slash four finger discount link is an description <v Speaker 4>of this podcast. <v Speaker 2>Next question, you there eating the based all right? Trivia time? <v Speaker 2>Yes you've got three? I've only got three hope, that's <v Speaker 2>all right. I'll go first? How much weight had home <v Speaker 2>and put on? Where? Betsy bibus said, you've gained You've <v Speaker 2>gained seven pounds? And what's that in kilos? About three <v Speaker 2>seven pounds into killers is three point one seven kilos? <v Speaker 2>I was so close. Not bad. Speaking of weight, what <v Speaker 2>was Betsy Bidwell's old weight? Her old weight? Oh, she <v Speaker 2>used to weigh something. I don't know. I don't remember <v Speaker 2>that bit. Actually she used to weighs four hundred pounds, <v Speaker 2>she said, really, no, man would never touch you. Next <v Speaker 2>question for me from you? Alrighty, what was the missus cooking? <v Speaker 2>Missus munts? It was meat life now. Yes, I haven't <v Speaker 2>had meat lofe in a while. <v Speaker 4>It was the meal that my mummy spoke when I <v Speaker 4>was a kid that I was always bitterly disappointed with <v Speaker 4>my made meat left. <v Speaker 2>Not really spice it up. <v Speaker 4>I know, it's just I didn't like. I hate the <v Speaker 4>texture of meat loaf. Oh yeah, just not for me. <v Speaker 4>Oh never been a meatloaf fan? Really, what the singer <v Speaker 4>not the meat. It's the opposite for me. <v Speaker 2>I can't stand me. I like meat loaf, fine, but <v Speaker 2>I love me love the meal. Okay, well we haven't caught. <v Speaker 2>I read Nicko cooked at once. I went, I don't <v Speaker 2>have the hard to tell that I hate it because <v Speaker 2>I know she loves meat loaf. You next question, Jennifer <v Speaker 2>appears on Sneakers because her acupuncturist boyfriend maybe cheating. How <v Speaker 2>old is Jennifer. I'm going to say thirty, She's twenty <v Speaker 2>three years only three years old. I did like the <v Speaker 2>I've tried everything but talking to it my follow I <v Speaker 2>do like that recarget, but we've tried nothing. We're roll <v Speaker 2>out about. Oh it is, yeah, so great. My final <v Speaker 2>question is the host of Sneakers. Who is his father? Oh, <v Speaker 2>the Reverend Billy Graham Junior. <v Speaker 4>I've mentioned this guy but twice in the last three episodes. Really, <v Speaker 4>because when they did the love spring fieldy in style, <v Speaker 4>remember it said today sex pistols tomorrow red. <v Speaker 2>It was like Reverend Billy Graham. It was like a <v Speaker 2>combination of the two or whatever. Do we have the energy? <v Speaker 2>One may dare say the podcast Pizaz to type in <v Speaker 2>the date, well the year that this episode released and <v Speaker 2>Billy Graham and see if something happened, see why you <v Speaker 2>might have been in the new two thousand and eight. <v Speaker 2>Let's do it. Billy Graham was an American ev evangelists, <v Speaker 2>passed away in twenty eighteen. I can't really see anything <v Speaker 2>here that stands out in two thousand and eight. Five <v Speaker 2>time was say twos and five ye city he had preached. No, <v Speaker 2>he finished in two thousand and five, so he'd retired <v Speaker 2>by two thousand and eight. Not in the hearts of <v Speaker 2>the Caroline Amine and the people at the Simpsons writers rot, <v Speaker 2>did she write this one dish? Yeah? <v Speaker 4>However yeah, yeah with William right. How often do we find, <v Speaker 4>though with current Simpsons that we're reviewing, that they'll make <v Speaker 4>a gag and it's like this, a similar gag is <v Speaker 4>in like two or three episodes. It's almost like they <v Speaker 4>just throw them all in there. Not anything original. This <v Speaker 4>was this was the name or the thing that made <v Speaker 4>us laugh that week. Yeah around, let's get into our <v Speaker 4>review of daland Furda. Shall we let's let's do it. <v Speaker 4>So the original airdate was March ninth, two thousand and eight. <v Speaker 4>Production code KA b F zero seven, written by. <v Speaker 2>Why do they have that? Production one of the production <v Speaker 2>cove Well, let us call it this episode KA b <v Speaker 2>F zero seven. I guess maybe it means the seventh <v Speaker 2>episode this season produced. It doesn't matter, kab The name <v Speaker 2>of the radio station in John Carpenter is the Fog <v Speaker 2>by the way, is it? Yeah? <v Speaker 4>K Carolyn Amine William right with the writers of this episode, <v Speaker 4>directed by Bob Anderson as well. So the episode kicks <v Speaker 4>off with Marge wanting some sexy time. She's down DTF <v Speaker 4>as the kids would say once upon a time down <v Speaker 4>the frolic, Yes, and she wants a syrupy stack of <v Speaker 4>man cakes. And I was like, we all want a <v Speaker 4>good woman like this, right, Jesus is the message that <v Speaker 4>we are? And go, I want a piece of that action, <v Speaker 4>doesn't it? Everybody want to be wanted? Yeah, that's that's <v Speaker 4>the thing. You just want to be wanted. Yeah, I <v Speaker 4>said to Nikolas, said it was last week. I said, <v Speaker 4>please forever, like you know, sometimes been in the kitchen <v Speaker 4>walk up and slap me on the ass. I'm like, <v Speaker 4>don't ever stop doing that because it just makes you <v Speaker 4>feel like you wanted. Oh yeah, there's nothing wrong with <v Speaker 4>a good ass slap, right, is that? <v Speaker 2>Well it depends on it, but no, there is nothing <v Speaker 2>wrong Uncle Joe. No, Uncle Joe. Come on. <v Speaker 4>So he's too tired though, He's just he's absolutely knacking. <v Speaker 4>And I was just like, mate, we've all been there. <v Speaker 4>The spirit is willing, but the pleasures, well, yeah, yes. <v Speaker 2>We want to get to get nuts on me. <v Speaker 4>But he gets home the next day, dinner time, the <v Speaker 4>perfect time, perfect break between we're won't drunk, and he <v Speaker 4>smells something his new diet. <v Speaker 2>It's broccoli getting I was like, yeah, steam brocoli. It <v Speaker 2>must have. I must admit that's, you know, steam things <v Speaker 2>that the margin has got going on in the soap <v Speaker 2>top good honor. Looks like she's put in the effort. <v Speaker 2>Actually it looks like some pretty tasty veggies. Yeah. <v Speaker 4>I made a sturf for the other day, and I <v Speaker 4>was thinking, why did I do more of this? It's <v Speaker 4>they're simple to make, you know, a bit of sauce <v Speaker 4>veggies and chicken in there. <v Speaker 2>And they're delicious. They're very tasty. Yeah, this is a yeah, <v Speaker 2>we're very pro s Somemmer's coming, which means shirts off, <v Speaker 2>which means we're going to get into into shape. Well, <v Speaker 2>that's right, suns out, guns. <v Speaker 4>Out, yes, as Nikola calls it, suns out, buns out. <v Speaker 4>Well that too, girls of the g strings, that's what <v Speaker 4>she said, suns out, buns out. You know, apparently there's <v Speaker 4>a saying you know how they always say forgive me <v Speaker 4>female viewers and listeners, But there's a saying that goes <v Speaker 4>tits out for the boys, get you tits out for <v Speaker 4>the boys. <v Speaker 2>Know that's saying. I'm well aware of it. I may <v Speaker 2>have said it, yes, right, Apparently there's a saying. I <v Speaker 2>never heard it, Nicola goes dicks out for the chicks, <v Speaker 2>get you dicks out for the chicks, and I was like, <v Speaker 2>I've never heard this in quite frankly, I'm discussing ladies, <v Speaker 2>lift your game, chow some decorum. <v Speaker 4>I was like, I'm not, well, no one's ever said <v Speaker 4>it to me, dicks out for the chicks. And I <v Speaker 4>was like, well it makes sense they should. They deserve <v Speaker 4>their own filthy slogan as well. <v Speaker 2>I'm trying to think of something that rhymes with dicks <v Speaker 2>away for the so and so, because once I get <v Speaker 2>mine and I'll be like, no, no, all the. <v Speaker 4>Rhymes are penis, penis out for the It doesn't make <v Speaker 4>sense willies because WILLI is a probe an easy way <v Speaker 4>to ride with something, isn't it cock cock cocks cocks. <v Speaker 2>Out for the. <v Speaker 4>I don't know, but dick's out for the chicks apparently <v Speaker 4>a thing. <v Speaker 2>Okay, I'm happy to if you ask happily you're black, <v Speaker 2>say please anyway. <v Speaker 4>So cooking nice, cooking nice, sturf fries whatever, veggies, vegetables. <v Speaker 2>Yes, you've got surf on the brain. So I'm gonna <v Speaker 2>say stirf fr sturf fry. <v Speaker 4>That's that's what I think of steam veggi'es I think <v Speaker 4>of stir fry and mix it all together. Anyway, So <v Speaker 4>Hamma says, here, what about the old ones? <v Speaker 2>I haven't finished despite the fact that it says stir fry, <v Speaker 2>just like this makes sense. That's whatever. <v Speaker 4>Seeing Veggi's being cooked stir fry for me. So now <v Speaker 4>she's just higher bid well, and I'm this is just lazy. <v Speaker 4>It's just thinking, who is this I've hired a dietitian. Okay, <v Speaker 4>after one day? <v Speaker 5>Why all right, Homer, did you know I used to <v Speaker 5>weigh four hundred pounds? <v Speaker 1>Oh bet, no man would touch you. <v Speaker 5>Well, I went from fat to all that using my simple, <v Speaker 5>fool proof diet. It's all about little substitutions. Instead of <v Speaker 5>French toast for breakfast, why not eat a belt pepper <v Speaker 5>when you crave something sugary? Eat about pepper? Want a beer? <v Speaker 2>Bell pepper? <v Speaker 1>Who it's dangy like a pepper, like qunchy like a bell, <v Speaker 1>bell pepper? <v Speaker 4>I reckon what this is? I've got here in my notes. <v Speaker 4>Someone said beal pepper in the in the writer's room <v Speaker 4>one day, and they thought it was hilarious. And they <v Speaker 4>think the word bell pepper, bell pepper, bell pepper. They <v Speaker 4>they've done this for years now. Though remember Bombardman playing dodgeball. <v Speaker 4>But Barman, this is just that gag again, Bell pepper, <v Speaker 4>bell pepper, bell pepper. <v Speaker 2>I have two questions, yes, regarding this whole three okay, <v Speaker 2>it's tribute. Only have two questions. I walked right into <v Speaker 2>that and then, well, well played you. First of all, <v Speaker 2>Homer is eating these belle Why is no one seeding <v Speaker 2>these bell peppers? If you've ever cut up a bell <v Speaker 2>pepper and you got some of the seeds in there, <v Speaker 2>exactly what happens. It's the hot seeds. So eating those <v Speaker 2>more time, one more time? That was my person. You <v Speaker 2>look like the wolf from the mask. The secondly, why <v Speaker 2>is no one calling these bell peppers by their true <v Speaker 2>name capsicum? Yeah, it's very it's a very American thing. <v Speaker 2>But here you go, no, it's not an American thing. <v Speaker 2>That's what they call them in England. Really. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, you go to subway in England you asked for <v Speaker 4>some capsulem and they look at you with a fuddled look. <v Speaker 4>She said do you want do you want pepper? And <v Speaker 4>I was like, yes, please? Did start putting no, no cask? <v Speaker 4>She goes, Nicole goes, that's pepper. I went what she goes, <v Speaker 4>bal pepper? I went, what do you what you're saying? <v Speaker 2>Words? Nothing makes sense here? Do you say pepper or <v Speaker 2>pepper's I don't know, but all I heard was pepper. <v Speaker 2>And in Australia we pepper, it's salt and pepper. But <v Speaker 2>she goes, do you want pepper? She's well, hold up, <v Speaker 2>hold on, no, I don't want that. So that's why <v Speaker 2>I realized Nicholas, And that was years ago when I <v Speaker 2>first went to England. Nicolas like, pepper is bal pepper <v Speaker 2>is capskim here and I was like, but you have <v Speaker 2>something else that's called pepper. Why would you do that <v Speaker 2>to yourself. It's like when you go overseas and they say, <v Speaker 2>would you like cilantro on this? And I'm like, I <v Speaker 2>don't know what that is? What is cilantro? It's capsic? No, <v Speaker 2>it's capsic. That's just talking. See it's confusing. We wouldn't <v Speaker 2>have this issue. It's very confusing. What do we call it? It? Coriander? Ah? Okay. <v Speaker 4>See the thing is I think where the odd one's out? <v Speaker 4>I think everyone else around the world calls it pepper, <v Speaker 4>and where the only one they called capsic? <v Speaker 2>Okay, So will like when we have a girl with <v Speaker 2>our American friends, were like, why are still using miles? <v Speaker 2>Stop doing it? But we're ahead of the curve though, <v Speaker 2>we're going. You know what's confusing having bell, pepper and <v Speaker 2>pepper being put into the same sandwich subway. If you <v Speaker 2>just call it a capsicim, you wouldn't have to. It <v Speaker 2>wouldn't be confused anymore. Dan would certainly be less as <v Speaker 2>I would go, I've made a subway for a long <v Speaker 2>if it had been subway for a while, I've been <v Speaker 2>for ages. I have not. Lou had some the other day. <v Speaker 4>I just remember getting it maybe two years ago, and <v Speaker 4>I was like seventeen. This used to be like a <v Speaker 4>nine dollars on that's seventeen and it's not good. <v Speaker 2>Oh no, no, if I'm playing seventeen, no, I'll well, <v Speaker 2>do you respect a subway? And I'll buy a whole <v Speaker 2>chicken and rolls and it's spokesperson Jared. I'll get a <v Speaker 2>real sandwich from a real sandwich because I used to <v Speaker 2>enjoy the the foot long and also on meatball sub <v Speaker 2>you saw that coming. I added a sound effect there. <v Speaker 2>You haven't heard it yet, but it'll be there. Was <v Speaker 2>it slide whissel? No, that's what what Mal has? It <v Speaker 2>doesn't he does? Indeed? Uh? Anyway, yes, Bell Peppers stuff. <v Speaker 2>You thought it was funny. It maybe isn't quite as <v Speaker 2>fun as you thought. It was. Simpson's Riders, but look, <v Speaker 2>you've given us so much pleasure for so long. We'll <v Speaker 2>let this one's slide. Yeah. But now apparently Homer loves <v Speaker 2>them as well, so is he eating these and pretending <v Speaker 2>to like them because he wants to keep this facade <v Speaker 2>up or he actually likes It's hard to tell, isn't it. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, because they don't sort of show a moment where <v Speaker 4>he goes, oh my god, I can stop eating these now. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, there's no even slight cutaway. Yeah, it's more like, no, <v Speaker 2>he's really into these bell peppers. Yeah, just as much <v Speaker 2>as you know the Simpsons riders are into saying the <v Speaker 2>word bell. <v Speaker 4>Pepper right at the baseball game. But it's a dog <v Speaker 4>gets a dog. I feel like if you go to <v Speaker 4>the baseball you have to have. <v Speaker 2>A dog, right, I would have to have a dog <v Speaker 2>and a beer. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, Shans Foot, it's a pie and chips and a coke, yes, <v Speaker 4>or a beer whatever. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, if you went to the States and went to <v Speaker 2>a baseball game, which team would you like to see? <v Speaker 2>Boston red the Socks. I'm a Boston guy. Well, that's true. <v Speaker 2>You are. You're talking about this the other narrator, chick <v Speaker 2>from Boston, the English Boston, not the American Boston. <v Speaker 4>They founded this Boston. The American money they got Boston, <v Speaker 4>they built that city, not on rock and roll. <v Speaker 2>No, it sucks that were read The Lovely Luise and <v Speaker 2>I watched a documentary on TV the other night called <v Speaker 2>was it Finding the Voice? But it was about John <v Speaker 2>Farnham and yeah, Australian Ic on John Farnham. <v Speaker 4>They're doing all these before he dies. Usually their way <v Speaker 4>to someone dies and they go let's celebrate them. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, let's celebrate John Johnny Farnum. While this STI alive, <v Speaker 2>It's like, I kind of did it, Molly Malgium. I <v Speaker 2>guess they gave him all these TV shows and movies <v Speaker 2>and then he dropped his pants on stage and was like, <v Speaker 2>oh no, they swapt that one under the road pretty quickly, <v Speaker 2>didn't they. They didn't they? Farsi as we like to <v Speaker 2>call him here in Australia. It was pre his big <v Speaker 2>comeback with Your the Voice. Yeah. They were scouting out <v Speaker 2>songs for him to sing, you know, to put on <v Speaker 2>his album WI Spring Jack and apparently one of them <v Speaker 2>was we built this City. Like they send him a <v Speaker 2>demo of it, No way, yeah, and he was like <v Speaker 2>I don't like that. I was like this this would <v Speaker 2>have been good. I'm like, no, that's a terrible song. <v Speaker 4>Whoever sings this sounds like rock and or roll, but <v Speaker 4>you're the voice worked for him. It's being used as <v Speaker 4>both Kamala right in her ad is it? <v Speaker 2>Didn't you see that? I did not see she. <v Speaker 4>Used they used in the Democratic advertisement You're the voice <v Speaker 4>is now like everyone in America was like, what a song. <v Speaker 2>Everyone's like, we're firty years old, as seen in the <v Speaker 2>motion picture hot Rod. <v Speaker 4>So yeah, now then now they're being they're using it <v Speaker 4>to try and over overthrow Trump. <v Speaker 2>And meanwhile, didn't the estate of Isaac hayes okay chef <v Speaker 2>from south Park? Yeah, listening to going down to South Park? <v Speaker 2>Good shame. I don't know which of it, whether he <v Speaker 2>used lyrics from an Isaac hay song or he might <v Speaker 2>have like tried to use them from sharp Yeah, and <v Speaker 2>the state of head said, no, we're not We're not <v Speaker 2>having it anyway. Back to dal Infernerda, we were constantly. <v Speaker 4>Avoiding the issue baseball game, eating a dog and home <v Speaker 4>and but orders the pepper which is piping cold, crunchy <v Speaker 4>and bland. So then he gets one from a vendor. <v Speaker 2>Have their place. I like a capsicum. I like it. <v Speaker 2>I like it in a tire sturf fry. Yes, I <v Speaker 2>like ty curry. I like to put it in a <v Speaker 2>sturf fry when when I make my breakfast burrito. <v Speaker 4>Cap If I'm gonna eat capsic, it needs to be soft. <v Speaker 4>I can't eat hard capsicum. <v Speaker 2>Oh no, I quite like. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, I don't like going a salad roll or whatever. <v Speaker 4>I didn't salad it's good, okay. So he gets from <v Speaker 4>the vending machine Mo's blending peppers to farmer's drink. Yes, <v Speaker 4>Homers then gained seven pounds. Betsy can't believe it. Marge <v Speaker 4>asks has been cheating, and he walks out and meet <v Speaker 4>I didn't like this where she's pinching his weight and <v Speaker 4>he walks in and outside and it's like, too silly, <v Speaker 4>too silly for me, too silly. <v Speaker 2>In an episode where a small boy falls up falls <v Speaker 2>up a giant cliff, is the extended bang bang bang <v Speaker 2>all the way down? Has it all the way down? <v Speaker 2>Bad bag? So Marge is now looking. But was there <v Speaker 2>ever the worst band of the Black Eyed Peas West <v Speaker 2>band I've just been provoking. I mean they had their place. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>that's true. It's terrible stuff. That's great. Where is the love, guy? <v Speaker 2>Where's the love? That was well done? I appreciate you <v Speaker 2>what you did. It's like they did terrible songs that <v Speaker 2>you can't help but kind of get down to. Actually, no, <v Speaker 2>let's get it started as Actually I can say, it's <v Speaker 2>just shut up, shut up, got a real I'm such <v Speaker 2>a period because big girls don't cry. So takeday is <v Speaker 2>that one of those songs? I think it's a fergy song, <v Speaker 2>right the girls? I think it's maybe wrong. Maybe I <v Speaker 2>think I like to get it started, except I can <v Speaker 2>only like it by its original time You're going to <v Speaker 2>go there, which I cannot say on this podcast. Apparently <v Speaker 2>that words making a comeback. No, it's not. Yeah, apparently <v Speaker 2>it is in your world. Maybe, well in the world <v Speaker 2>of the kids. The kids, kids are the kids are <v Speaker 2>saying maybe because I've you know, he's been so long <v Speaker 2>since people have actually used the word they've gone, people <v Speaker 2>have gone. You know what that word means? Right? Oh shit? <v Speaker 2>Oh the children marrow future. Yes, So Marge is looking <v Speaker 2>for evidence, evidence proved that home has been cheating. I <v Speaker 2>didn't enjoy about What are you doing there? Am I <v Speaker 2>going crazy? Yes? And you know you can't find anything? <v Speaker 2>Then the family see the Primo on the TV Force Sneakers. <v Speaker 1>Me Jennifer geez worried or I get punk to his <v Speaker 1>boyfriend is sticking it to someone else. <v Speaker 2>He used to be so loving. <v Speaker 1>Now, he says, he's always working late, but when he <v Speaker 1>comes home his needles. <v Speaker 2>Aren't even bloody. I've tried everything except talking to him. <v Speaker 2>Help me TV show, We'll find out if Jennifer's boyfriend <v Speaker 2>has been fooling around. I'm Sneakers. <v Speaker 3>If you suspect a loved one of cheating on you <v Speaker 3>call the Sneakers hardline, also called if you don't suspect <v Speaker 3>Most cheating happens when you think everything is just. <v Speaker 4>Great, probably true, just when you think. Sometimes you suspect <v Speaker 4>things right, you know, when your partner's off. But a <v Speaker 4>lot of the time they are so good at covering it. <v Speaker 4>It's like, no, you think of everything's fine. It's like, <v Speaker 4>oh shit, how don't you see videos like I've been <v Speaker 4>married to this guy, this woman like twenty years. <v Speaker 2>I had no idea. You told me a terrible story <v Speaker 2>the other day about a gentleman who received either a <v Speaker 2>video or yeah, photographs not pleasant, photographs not pleasant. We're <v Speaker 2>not going to recount that story on this podcast. It <v Speaker 2>quite frankly traumatized. But Marge here is watching Sneakers and <v Speaker 2>she says, kids set the kids for an adult phone call, Yes, <v Speaker 2>because she wants to find out about eating cheating. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>in the legendary words of adult Schautznegger, eating is not cheating. <v Speaker 2>So that's a great story. The kids. <v Speaker 3>Look it up. <v Speaker 4>The kids go to the forest, as you said. Yeah, <v Speaker 4>just a great setting, isn't it? Like it's got It <v Speaker 4>reminds me of et Hey, they have kick ass. <v Speaker 2>Forests, like right near the house. It's like, Wow, were <v Speaker 2>you guys on the border of Canada or something. It <v Speaker 2>looks fantastic. Yeah, it looks really nice. It's really nice. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>but didn't know it was even there. You were a <v Speaker 2>report on it. No, the internet wrote it. I handed <v Speaker 2>it in another Simpsons prediction. Hey, I chat. They see <v Speaker 2>the squirrel here. It's been eaten by the eagle. The <v Speaker 2>eagle trying to eat it. Lisa says, break it up. <v Speaker 2>You two play nice, and then the squirrel goes and <v Speaker 2>eats the eagles eggs. And I'm like, I've seen video <v Speaker 2>for some reason, I like washed one video on Twitter <v Speaker 2>of it's like, would you save this deer from this anaconda? <v Speaker 2>Right now, my whole Twitter feed is just like these <v Speaker 2>animal videos saying would you get would you interfere with nature? <v Speaker 2>And I'm just like, I don't want to see this ship. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>they algorithms and nuts down. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, you watch one video as all you get, But <v Speaker 4>would you interfere if you saw an animal trying to <v Speaker 4>eat another animal, would you interfere? <v Speaker 2>I would would? It depends on the cuteness of one particular, <v Speaker 2>particularly the victimized animal. I couldn't help myself. I'd have <v Speaker 2>to help regardless. I think apparently it's against the law, <v Speaker 2>is there in some cases too? I forgot what was <v Speaker 2>but yeah, I think I had one of these video <v Speaker 2>shelf on my social media feeds as well, and there <v Speaker 2>was like, yeah, a community note underneath it saying, is <v Speaker 2>apparently illegal for you to step in and save this <v Speaker 2>kind of animal. That's harsh, but you know Naseequena, circle <v Speaker 2>of life baby, Yeah, not good nature is Oh it's brutal, <v Speaker 2>bad man obviously. <v Speaker 4>Lots of videos of Komodo dragon is rocking up on <v Speaker 4>my feet. Those things are dinosaurs. They're terrifying. <v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, yeah, they're coming up a lot. They eat <v Speaker 2>they just eat deers whole. Yeah. No, and they're not <v Speaker 2>just showing you like ooh This kimono dragon's a bad <v Speaker 2>to get a faint. No, the kimmodo dragon is actually <v Speaker 2>like putting a deer's head in his mouth and it's <v Speaker 2>chomping now and just just swallows the whole thing. Kimano <v Speaker 2>dragons another thing to worry. They're sharks of land. Man, <v Speaker 2>you don't have to go in the water. It's like, oh, <v Speaker 2>you in my house. <v Speaker 4>This video, this kimodo dragon chased down a deer, and <v Speaker 4>I was like, these things are fast, they eat, they <v Speaker 4>can eat people. <v Speaker 2>That's just terrible. I'm stay inside. What's the point going out. <v Speaker 2>We're going to come back inside anyway. <v Speaker 4>But then talking to the host of sneakers though, and <v Speaker 4>she mentions here, she's really sad because sometimes you go <v Speaker 4>to the bathroom to snack off. It didn't mind, but <v Speaker 4>now he's getting it more and more and more, and <v Speaker 4>now she's just breaking it, basically just taking. They say <v Speaker 4>that he's cheating, but he's actually snacking, and they make <v Speaker 4>her crying to the camera. Then the kids find Martin, <v Speaker 4>who's just having mery old time by himself, just excavated <v Speaker 4>looking for arrowheads, just having a great Saturday afternoon, doing. <v Speaker 2>A little amateur archaeology. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, Lisa joins him, but tries but was so annoying <v Speaker 4>here trying to say you blow listen to my joke. <v Speaker 2>Well, but he's done that before. Yeah, yeah, I mean yeah, no, <v Speaker 2>that's pay attention to me basically. Yeah, that's one of <v Speaker 2>Bard's defining characteristics. And will keep telling gag until it <v Speaker 2>hits it was. <v Speaker 4>This was the setup for a joke a little bit <v Speaker 4>in about two minutes time, which I thought, my god, <v Speaker 4>here we go. But anyway, so, but what one is <v Speaker 4>off seaside? <v Speaker 2>Too bad because I was going to use it a <v Speaker 2>bit later on. <v Speaker 4>So sideshow Mal is sleeping with the slide whistle and <v Speaker 4>he sees the bone. This isn't like a cat in <v Speaker 4>the hat thing or something like the bone the very <v Speaker 4>thing methinks to prank my sister and the dink. <v Speaker 2>That sounds more like Shakespeare. <v Speaker 4>Shakespeare. I just thought it was something like out of <v Speaker 4>a cat and a hat doctor Seus's book and to <v Speaker 4>rhyme and all that. <v Speaker 2>Kind of stuff all the time. Bone, the very thing <v Speaker 2>methinks to prank my sister and the dink. I think <v Speaker 2>that's a reference to a line from Hamlet. The plays <v Speaker 2>the thing. Oh shit, okay, well'll do a quick bit <v Speaker 2>of googling. <v Speaker 4>But when he pulls the bone out of his hair, <v Speaker 4>his hair goes down, which I think we've ever seen <v Speaker 4>Social Meal with his hair down before, which is kind <v Speaker 4>of interesting. And then we get as I will say <v Speaker 4>the word, so he says, one of the major It <v Speaker 4>could be one of the major homos. So Bart is <v Speaker 4>taking the bone out of his hair, put it inside. <v Speaker 4>I found a bone. Now, Martin says, this could be <v Speaker 4>one of the homos. Bart tries to say, you're a <v Speaker 4>hom and Lisa stops him. <v Speaker 2>Whatever, may I just say? The plays the thing we're in, <v Speaker 2>I'll catch the conscience of the king. This is the <v Speaker 2>end of that two of William Shakespeare's Hamlet. Bone the <v Speaker 2>very thing he thinks to practice, my sister and the <v Speaker 2>what did you just say? The play is the thing <v Speaker 2>by which I'll prick the conscience of the king. Up. Okay, yeah, <v Speaker 2>it's not dissimilar. <v Speaker 4>No, So Bart pranks him, pulls the bone and he <v Speaker 4>falls down the hill. Lisa tried, Lisa not good in <v Speaker 4>this situation, to get a stick and pokes him. <v Speaker 2>That's not going to help. But unless he was trying <v Speaker 2>to you're awake wake up. <v Speaker 4>To Edge Eh chatting him bag and he falls off <v Speaker 4>and Bart here is pretty much every ten year old <v Speaker 4>in that situation would bike away with a bell ring <v Speaker 4>into drown out. <v Speaker 2>The inner voice of guilt, Yes, out your conscience. What <v Speaker 2>would you do with your kid? You would just panic? Right? <v Speaker 2>Oh goodness here, yeah I can't, I can't. The fault <v Speaker 2>are the kids. It was actually their reactions here, and <v Speaker 2>I thought that, yeah, this is the foundation for at <v Speaker 2>least some good character driven storytelling. I actually liked Lisa <v Speaker 2>became like the heel in this. Yeah, I mean we've <v Speaker 2>seen indications that Lisa could heal turn. Yeah when when <v Speaker 2>the ship, when the ship goes down, when it will <v Speaker 2>suit her? Yeah? Yeah, and if it derails her future <v Speaker 2>or that's the big things the future, isn't it? Yeah, <v Speaker 2>very much so. And yeah it was a nice sort <v Speaker 2>of role reversal. And you know, usually Lisa's the conscientious <v Speaker 2>one and Bard is devil may care. And this time <v Speaker 2>it was a nice throw down, flipp it and reverse it. Yes, <v Speaker 2>what a song. Awesome song. It's no Black Eyed Peas, <v Speaker 2>but not pretty good. But then I was home, still <v Speaker 2>ringing the bell. Bad thoughts they put on the hip <v Speaker 2>us on the TV Little tree owls happy safe at home, Happy, <v Speaker 2>Happy Happy. Cut to the new story and Martin has <v Speaker 2>unfortunately died. Indeed, how do they know it's Martin? I <v Speaker 2>found his Well, they had his pocket protector, which ironically <v Speaker 2>did not protect. <v Speaker 3>And you know exactly who is to blame, no one. <v Speaker 3>The boy clearly fell by accident. He crashed through the <v Speaker 3>tree canopy there and was presumably eaten by this cougar <v Speaker 3>who is still coughing up parts of the boy's claws. Tragic, <v Speaker 3>just tragic. You think this would fit little Rappie cheap <v Speaker 3>this evidence, I know, but after its evidence, it's a <v Speaker 3>shirt again, isn't it so? <v Speaker 2>Chief? What's your final word on the Prince Boy? <v Speaker 3>Oh? Dead, definitely dead. <v Speaker 2>Chief. Aren't we supposed to notify the family first? <v Speaker 3>What do you think I'm doing right now? <v Speaker 2>They cut back to the elves. <v Speaker 4>Imagine that you've watched the TV show best mate said <v Speaker 4>or a kid that you know it's dead, And back <v Speaker 4>to the happy Little Tree elves. <v Speaker 2>So the kids think that they're murderers. Well as this <v Speaker 2>says that were someone accomplice. She has the vision of <v Speaker 2>being in prison and she's savv because any ol Steel books, <v Speaker 2>and that would suck for modern audiences. It would like <v Speaker 2>if you read Sally Rooney books, but then you go <v Speaker 2>to prison and not only got Colleen Hoover. I think <v Speaker 2>Nikola likes Colin Hoover. I think she's pretty sure she <v Speaker 2>makes Zach you. Actually, I think Nicola reads Colleen who <v Speaker 2>for books. I wouldn't know. Is there another Colleen famous author? No, <v Speaker 2>it ends with us. She's the writer of it. Yes, <v Speaker 2>she's got like the series of them. Yeah, yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 2>i'dmi the hustle. She's written a shit to of books <v Speaker 2>and they're all very successful. Maybe I'm just jealous. Who <v Speaker 2>knows his manuscript for fourteen years? True? And I am <v Speaker 2>five days away from finish. Slash four scout link is <v Speaker 4>in an description of this podcast. So basically, my least <v Speaker 4>is concerned here, but says, I'm going to turn myself in. <v Speaker 4>I can't live with this girl. And then we've got <v Speaker 4>really cool animation of almost like the heel turn happening <v Speaker 4>in real time at shadows and she's like, wait a minute, no, <v Speaker 4>she justifies to herself, ruining our lives won't bring him back. <v Speaker 2>What are we doing? Why don't we tell anybody? And <v Speaker 2>Marge says, you know, how is you outside? Time, they <v Speaker 2>do some quick talking. <v Speaker 4>She knows something's not quite right, and home is now <v Speaker 4>leaving at four o'clock in the day to go to work. Yeah, <v Speaker 4>he's got to count the atoms about yes, yeah, And <v Speaker 4>Marge mentally called sneakers and says the loaders on the <v Speaker 4>road and then father father, Reverend Billy Graham Junior, he <v Speaker 4>says them to the cameraman or something, I don't know, yeah, <v Speaker 4>I don't know whatever. <v Speaker 2>It's meant to be a gag and nobody knows. Unfortunately, <v Speaker 2>it's failed to meet the criteria being a gag. And <v Speaker 2>then it wasn't funny. Now it's the funeral at school <v Speaker 2>for Martin. Nice tribute from the Audio Visual Club here <v Speaker 2>with your with your lovely lady singing. That's right, Seremy Lachlin. <v Speaker 4>Yes, clackly, but feeling feeling bad. And Nelson realized something, <v Speaker 4>why is Bart feeling bad? I thought it was a <v Speaker 4>bit convenient that Nelson's like, these two must have done <v Speaker 4>it because Bart feels sad, Like, what's a funeral? <v Speaker 2>Well, it's also a bit of a when are you <v Speaker 2>using a lot of wrestling terms? But it's a bit <v Speaker 2>of a baby face turn from Nelson from Nelson to <v Speaker 2>be like, all of a suddenly, you Encyclopedia Brown. I'm <v Speaker 2>gonna look this up in do you know what? Do <v Speaker 2>you know what I mean when I say Encyclopedia Brown, <v Speaker 2>Cyclopedia Brown. No, he was like a boy detective and <v Speaker 2>a series of youthful detective novels back in the day. Okay, <v Speaker 2>back in the day being my day, back being the <v Speaker 2>late years of the twentieth sevens, The mad Men, mad <v Speaker 2>Man there back in the seventies. <v Speaker 4>Yes, So now basically Nelson's thinks something's up. You know, <v Speaker 4>I'm gonna I'm going to try and work this out something. <v Speaker 4>He says, something doesn't add up. <v Speaker 2>The bullies try to beating him up because he's trying <v Speaker 2>to add stuff and it's having something no effect. Whatever. <v Speaker 4>Home is now at the Oil you Can Eat. There's <v Speaker 4>something about a good oil can eat. There's one in Corio. <v Speaker 4>We're just you and I off the show off record. <v Speaker 4>It's called Feast at the Gateway Hotel. <v Speaker 2>Have you ever in Geelong? <v Speaker 4>Go to the Gateway Hotel? Check out the Feast All <v Speaker 4>you can Eat. It's thirty two dollars and they have <v Speaker 4>a whole range. You've got like an Asian cuisine. They've <v Speaker 4>got roast pork, roast lamb, roast beef. They've got just <v Speaker 4>the classics, just like a chicken pum you you chicken pamaganas. <v Speaker 4>This this place is aptly named yeah feast or you <v Speaker 4>can eat chicken pamejanas. <v Speaker 2>How many parmajanas you think you'd eat? Well, they're smaller ones, <v Speaker 2>obviously the don't want to make huge ones. <v Speaker 4>But I had two of them. I had a ship <v Speaker 4>lead of beef. You know, they've got Yorkshire puddings as well. <v Speaker 4>I think I love that. <v Speaker 2>It's unbelievable. There is something fun that I saw on <v Speaker 2>food social media. It was like someone made it's called <v Speaker 2>a British burrio. I don't know why they didn't actually <v Speaker 2>use their boys. I'm using them boys, but it was <v Speaker 2>they made like a flat Yorkshire pudding and they just <v Speaker 2>ripped up like they wrapped up sorry, like a Sunday <v Speaker 2>roast in the in the flat veggies and all. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>so it's like a Sunday roast but wrapped up in <v Speaker 2>a Yorkshire pudding tortia. Did it look young? It looked <v Speaker 2>really good. I suppose you eat them more combined when <v Speaker 2>you eat him on the plaff the play, they all <v Speaker 2>end up in the same place. Yeah. Gravy, Yeah, that <v Speaker 2>was the thing, Like you have gravy? What kind of <v Speaker 2>saw like, yeah, but gravy on it. <v Speaker 4>I went to England and there was a person who <v Speaker 4>had a Sunday roast and they didn't want any gravy, <v Speaker 4>and I was like, what the hell is going on here? <v Speaker 2>They didn't Are you a Russian spy? That's like, you <v Speaker 2>don't have gravy on your roast? No? No, no, just leave <v Speaker 2>it as it is, Keith it could I pass you <v Speaker 2>the salt and or pepper? I didn't want the Pepper <v Speaker 2>went to the bell Pepper. We brought that all together. <v Speaker 4>Okay, so you can eat the camera. Menday's sad that <v Speaker 4>this is what his last got to. Yes, rollhorse, just <v Speaker 4>get in there and film. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, he used to make you know docos about coal <v Speaker 2>miners and all that stuff. Yeah. Will. <v Speaker 4>He then throws Martin stuff in the trash, but then <v Speaker 4>takes it home. Nelson still is investigating, knowing he's we <v Speaker 4>think he's investigators Bernie Ants. When this happened, I looked <v Speaker 4>it up, like can this actually happen? I've heard the <v Speaker 4>stories of people Burnie Ants. And there's this guy on YouTube. <v Speaker 4>He's like a you know, does random experiments whatever, and <v Speaker 4>he has his giant magnifying glass and he has like <v Speaker 4>this is infestation of ants in his backyard. He's like, <v Speaker 4>you're gonna rill them up, get them all out, and <v Speaker 4>he's just like now watch this and he gets a <v Speaker 4>mad and it's like burns them all. <v Speaker 2>It's like they all just disappeared on He's like, you <v Speaker 2>want to see more on my video? Subscribed to my <v Speaker 2>channel house. That was fun, wasn't it? And I was like, <v Speaker 2>what did I The comment that the top comic was <v Speaker 2>the top comment was perfect, goes Yep, I've made it <v Speaker 2>to this part of YouTube stress now. I was just like, yeah, <v Speaker 2>there's all these ants running around and just gets you something. <v Speaker 2>It sounds like this is a grown person. This is <v Speaker 2>a man. Yes, one can forgive maybe a small child <v Speaker 2>for doing this thing. It's like, I'm heard you can <v Speaker 2>do this. You know, it's your first fun experiment with science. <v Speaker 2>Plus you're also good to learn about life and death. <v Speaker 2>Hopefully you know, a responsible ut comes along and maybe <v Speaker 2>you shouldn't do that. It's like, okay, you dig them <v Speaker 2>up and goes like they're all riled up now because <v Speaker 2>you roll them up. I was gonna say, we said <v Speaker 2>nature of shit. People people are worse. Yeah, we are <v Speaker 2>indeed part of nature and probably the worst part of it. <v Speaker 2>I think we might be yes and so yeah, but <v Speaker 2>he was burning ants and then it's time to investigate. <v Speaker 2>It finds the bone on the string and yeah, something's <v Speaker 2>something is not right here home. He gets home with <v Speaker 2>chips and salsa in a suitcase, but then walks at <v Speaker 2>least walk in and they're all sheepish, Oh what do <v Speaker 2>you what do you been going on? And they're just <v Speaker 2>all anxious and everyone has secrets. Yeah, everyone's got secrets <v Speaker 2>except for March. I guess Marge with sneakers is also <v Speaker 2>a secret. Yeah, Maggie's been playing online poker as well. <v Speaker 2>That's a secret. I missed that part. I must have <v Speaker 2>looked away for a few secds. Yeah, they cut to Maggie. <v Speaker 2>Maggie's turns off the poker and goes to like a <v Speaker 2>kids show or whatever. <v Speaker 5>No. <v Speaker 4>I watched a great video this week and it was <v Speaker 4>just a short on YouTube. It was like turning on <v Speaker 4>Doom in nineteen ninety four or whatever, right, and someone's <v Speaker 4>got like an old school computer. Yes, and the film <v Speaker 4>obviously on the modern phone, but it looked like high <v Speaker 4>HD in nine twenty three that they had the old <v Speaker 4>school poster on the wall whatnot. <v Speaker 2>And they turned his computer on. Remember that's stud computers <v Speaker 2>used to make when I were trying to work and <v Speaker 2>load probably my current computer. It's just like it says <v Speaker 2>that sound like that sound like immediately just took me back. <v Speaker 2>I was like, holy shit. It's like when you hear <v Speaker 2>the dial up sound. It's like we need to hear <v Speaker 2>that every day, and you could imitate it. If someone <v Speaker 2>says put a gun said imitate the dialup sound. You <v Speaker 2>can probably do it like you tried it and this <v Speaker 2>you tried it was pretty close. It was bad. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>it's pretty good. I'm gonna do a side by side. <v Speaker 2>Can you put that gun? <v Speaker 4>Let's do a serious one, right, guy right now is <v Speaker 4>gonna try and do the dial up sound. Right, I'm <v Speaker 4>gonna get the actual sound and put it back to back. <v Speaker 2>Let's see. I'm gonna get see how you go? Thanks <v Speaker 2>for putting the final off it? Okay, how was that? Okay, <v Speaker 2>well we'll see mate, we yep writing. Let us know. <v Speaker 2>This is what you get when you're listening to Foe Finger, <v Speaker 2>discount man or machine. Who won this round? I welcome <v Speaker 2>our machine overlood. Everyone that covers like none of us. <v Speaker 4>Dude, you won this round and you lost my subscription. <v Speaker 4>But nobody can sleep. They're all sort of concerned. And <v Speaker 4>Bart's going through Martin stings and he finds the butterfly <v Speaker 4>paper and he's, you know, you realize that butterfly is <v Speaker 4>going to be coming out soon, We're gonna be hatching home. <v Speaker 4>Then takes the This was so weird taking the spit <v Speaker 4>to the hotel. <v Speaker 2>Love that? Yeah? That I mean, that wasn't that wasn't <v Speaker 2>the stupidest part. There was a part coming up that <v Speaker 2>was even worse. <v Speaker 4>When it comes to stupidity, it makes no sense. And <v Speaker 4>it was a bridge too far from me. But so <v Speaker 4>basically they're watching Homer in the hotel room, just having <v Speaker 4>getting down with this. <v Speaker 2>Yes, but yeah, it just one of those gags. It <v Speaker 2>just went on way too long. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, and I've never seen this before. But turn the <v Speaker 4>camera off. Then Lisa's at the quickie mart and why, <v Speaker 4>I don't know why she's acting your sheep. No one <v Speaker 4>knows it was them. The police have said we think <v Speaker 4>it was an accident. No one else did this, So <v Speaker 4>why they even bothered The police aren't suspecting anybody. <v Speaker 2>I don't know. Just guilty conscience is a tougher post. <v Speaker 4>He says, you know, little murderer says, because the hat's <v Speaker 4>killing her or whatever, killing him because it's so cute <v Speaker 4>or whatever. Then Lisa says to Bart, you know, pretended <v Speaker 4>we're fighting, giving an Indian, but I make me say <v Speaker 4>Indian against it gives an Indian bur And at least <v Speaker 4>Nelson walks in. He's investigating, just being a detective. Basically <v Speaker 4>says he's missus cookie meat loaft tonight. So you're gonna <v Speaker 4>get home missus Muntz. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, which I guess is a sort of a shout <v Speaker 2>out to Colombo, which they have a little later on, <v Speaker 2>but you know Columbo was always referring to missus Columbo. Oh, okay, <v Speaker 2>there you go. That would definitely be it. <v Speaker 4>Then Lisa finds notes from Bart in his bed and <v Speaker 4>it says I'm going to Martin's house ended all or <v Speaker 4>can't live with this guilt suicide line. <v Speaker 2>Odd. <v Speaker 4>Lisa genuinely thinks that Barth going to kill himself. They <v Speaker 4>even go to the length of having the silhoutte the <v Speaker 4>of the noose and everything. Anyway, but before we did that, though, <v Speaker 4>this is a stupid moment. Homer calling, I want to say, <v Speaker 4>a hotel room and there's a spit there on the <v Speaker 4>bed with a photo of homanexe to the bed. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, what the hell was that? I don't know, man, Yeah, <v Speaker 2>this this storyline just how does that get How does <v Speaker 2>that get through? I don't know. They were running out <v Speaker 2>of juice at this stage. This storyline was certainly running <v Speaker 2>out of gas, but. <v Speaker 4>It shouldn't have been there. It's a fun murder mystery, <v Speaker 4>like I don't know. I just thought that was so <v Speaker 4>that b plot that it did not need that it <v Speaker 4>was stupid. But Lisa arrives at Melson at Martin's house <v Speaker 4>and looks like Bart's going to hang himself, but no, <v Speaker 4>he's there to finish martin butterfly project because they're about <v Speaker 4>to start hatching. <v Speaker 2>I love that Martin's journal is called the Journal de Martain. <v Speaker 4>Pri Yes, this is actually one of my favorite moments. <v Speaker 4>I really liked the fact that he had preset this <v Speaker 4>tape with the loot. It's like it's just a little legend, <v Speaker 4>isn't he. <v Speaker 2>He's very thought all, very conscientious and very thorough. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, when they thought they turned it off, but they <v Speaker 4>can still hear the loot. What's going on here? They <v Speaker 4>can't we get what's going on. Margine catches home a <v Speaker 4>eating is it Gaspargo. <v Speaker 2>No, it's the Butterscotch Stallion. That's right, Yes, yeah, fun fact. <v Speaker 2>Butter Scott Stalien exactly the nickname of Owen Wilson when <v Speaker 2>back in the two thousands, though some gossip website named <v Speaker 2>The Famer gave him the nickname butter Scotch Stallion, a <v Speaker 2>fitting name. Do you think have that lovely blonde hair. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>that voice. Wow. Wow. What's he doing now? Besides that <v Speaker 2>Loki show that's pretty much it. I think he's doing <v Speaker 2>some other I think he's the star of some new <v Speaker 2>TV show where he plays like a golf pro or something. <v Speaker 2>You know that movie Tin Cup with Yeah, I think <v Speaker 2>it's like a bit of a riff on that. Okay, <v Speaker 2>I mean it doesn't have to work anymore, probably not <v Speaker 2>everywhere in the two thousands he was. Indeed, I watched <v Speaker 2>Zoolander the other night. It was just on on the foxtowel. <v Speaker 2>They had Zoolander and Zoolander two back to back. I'm like, <v Speaker 2>I'm just gonna stop a Zoolander. I don't think I <v Speaker 2>need to watch this. I know Zoolander too is horrific. <v Speaker 2>I didn't think it was all that good, but yeah, <v Speaker 2>I remember the time thinking it's pretty funny that ben <v Speaker 2>Still and Wilson cast themselves as super Bowls and then <v Speaker 2>you look at Wilson to go a handsome guy, and <v Speaker 2>Hansel is just a really good character. Yeah, Zueland is <v Speaker 2>pretty funny. Wow, what breaking news. It was one of <v Speaker 2>those movies that was always beyond it, like house Parties. <v Speaker 2>When I was in a teenager. Yeah, we come in <v Speaker 2>with two thousand and one. Yeah. Yeah, it's like one <v Speaker 2>of the first comedies to come out post September eleven, <v Speaker 2>which we just talked about on this show. We didn't. <v Speaker 2>I said this all the time, but you know when <v Speaker 2>we're not when in the script this, So they come <v Speaker 2>out like December or November or something? Did that something <v Speaker 2>like that? Okay, yeah, but Marge, then it's a catching <v Speaker 2>time eating it the butter Scott, what is it? Stallion? Stallion? <v Speaker 4>And he says, I only I couldn't sends the disappointment <v Speaker 4>in your eyes, knowing that I was a failure. So <v Speaker 4>then she slaps the be at the host name I <v Speaker 4>don't think we do, slaps his nets niggers guy. So <v Speaker 4>she'd rather have a chubby hubby than a sexy exy <v Speaker 4>and he says, if there was a reality show about <v Speaker 4>fat guys who really love their wives, I'd be you know, <v Speaker 4>it'd be good ratings and I'll be the first one. <v Speaker 2>And I'm like, yah, was straight. It's it's nice. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>it's good that we've been reminded that mar John's home <v Speaker 2>and no matter what. At the same time, get into shape. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>get some get your bedroom. Beza's back, buddy, Yeah, he <v Speaker 2>says he. I've got a lot to think about. <v Speaker 4>So I'm gonna go to the editing room and make <v Speaker 4>you look insane, make you look crazy. The hosts says <v Speaker 4>that to march. <v Speaker 2>Then the butterfly nectar falls on Lisa and they all <v Speaker 2>butterflies go over. She pushes them all away. One gets <v Speaker 2>that's foot caught in her button hole in the shoes. <v Speaker 2>She goes to flick it and realizes, oh my god, <v Speaker 2>I'm a monster and all this guilt has just turned <v Speaker 2>me into a horrible person. She says she must come clean. <v Speaker 2>She screams, we killed Martin Prince. Now some reveals that <v Speaker 2>he was sitting there playing the lute, and I'm like this, <v Speaker 2>why was he there? I don't know, man, what what? <v Speaker 2>Why do you think I'm going to go to Martin's <v Speaker 2>house and hang out and the butterfly thing playing the lute? What? <v Speaker 2>Maybe he was following button Lisa, I don't know, get <v Speaker 2>the loot from. Yeah, look, I'm not I like these <v Speaker 2>old mystery shows from the seventies, like a Moment Cloud <v Speaker 2>Milan Wife, the ones they're talking about here, And I <v Speaker 2>get the feeling that they sometimes play a little fast <v Speaker 2>and loose with like Colombo, what are you doing here? <v Speaker 2>I've learned to stop questioning things because you can find <v Speaker 2>faults with everything in television, every show, no matter what <v Speaker 2>is you be breaking bad, there will be something to nitpick. Right. <v Speaker 2>Sometimes you've just got to just go go with the flow. <v Speaker 2>We're talking Dan and I've been talking about Alien and <v Speaker 2>Aliens recently and it was great. I heard quote I <v Speaker 2>heard from Ridley Scott when he was making Alien. He <v Speaker 2>was talking about how there was like something surrounding the <v Speaker 2>Nostromo in space and someone on the crew said, well, <v Speaker 2>you know in space you wouldn't have that. You know, <v Speaker 2>there's no smoke or atmosphere in space, and Ridley Scott <v Speaker 2>says there is. Now what a Lord, that's the That's <v Speaker 2>the biggest boss move of all time? Right? It really <v Speaker 2>a dollar symbol? Yeah, Jim Cameron just coming to the <v Speaker 2>guys at Fox and saying, what's what, here's my next <v Speaker 2>project Alien and writes an s after then puts a <v Speaker 2>makes it into a dollar sie. Ah, that was the <v Speaker 2>greatest pitch of all time. Although apparently there's the guy <v Speaker 2>who I'm not if was Iarvan rightman but basically said <v Speaker 2>to the people at Universal Schwarzenegger the Vido Twins and <v Speaker 2>just sold it. I mean, you would think it would <v Speaker 2>work right again. If it's one of those things that <v Speaker 2>didn't happen, I don't care print the legend. <v Speaker 3>I'm just glad it was you who brought us in, Nelson, <v Speaker 3>remember when we used to date. <v Speaker 2>If you let me go, we can get back together. <v Speaker 2>I never let your cherry by my malbours, Stacey. I'll <v Speaker 2>let you do it now. Shave it for the warden. <v Speaker 4>Martin then comes out, though, and he says, to quote <v Speaker 4>Mark Twain, rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated. And <v Speaker 4>then he's got the Wedgi accommodating waistband, which saved him. <v Speaker 4>A cougar tried to eat him, dragged him, flung him away, <v Speaker 4>much like the rabbit in they called the Simpsons. <v Speaker 2>From the first season. He learned on an aisle, built <v Speaker 2>a raff, but he survived. Basically, he's got the rap <v Speaker 2>pretty quickly. But he also spent like three weeks building <v Speaker 2>his modes six skot Yes, that's right, so three weeks. <v Speaker 2>I don't know. It looks well tailored. <v Speaker 4>Lisa has learned that, you know, behind every goody two <v Speaker 4>shoes or some dark socks, I believe, she says, but <v Speaker 4>realizes I think, like killing nerds is not great or whatever. <v Speaker 4>And then we get the Colombo closing credits. Well I <v Speaker 4>thought it was Colombo, but that's all got here. But <v Speaker 4>because Nelson's Colombo, Burns and Smiths as McMillan and wife <v Speaker 4>these Quincy Jones was another one. <v Speaker 2>These are actually shows. <v Speaker 4>So they're all different shows, yes, yeah, but they are <v Speaker 4>all actual shows. Yes, yeah, yeah mc millen wife is <v Speaker 4>one too. <v Speaker 2>McMillan The Wife starred Rock Hudson. Okayhy do we get <v Speaker 2>doctor Quinn medicine woman because that was many years later. Yes, <v Speaker 2>but Quincy Quincy, he was like a medical examiner. Yes, yeah, <v Speaker 2>so you know dead body and shop and he said, <v Speaker 2>was Something's that right? <v Speaker 4>I feel like the early two thousands were the era <v Speaker 4>of you know, the the cops can't solve crimes. They <v Speaker 4>need some quirky guy who can get to help them. <v Speaker 4>Psych numbers, well castles. <v Speaker 2>That would CSI, I reckon. Yeah, oh wait, I never <v Speaker 2>watched I didn't you know, I was huge, but so <v Speaker 2>cs I, well that was they weren't cops so much <v Speaker 2>as they were like the scientists who get the there's <v Speaker 2>a dead body, but it sounds weird about this dead body. <v Speaker 2>We don't have to happen this way. <v Speaker 4>This way, But I mean, at least they had some <v Speaker 4>sort of like experience in the field where these I'm <v Speaker 4>talking about the Castle of Nathan Fillions just like I'm <v Speaker 4>an offer and I'm going to follow you on your <v Speaker 4>on your adventures and help you solve crimes or psych <v Speaker 4>or numbers and numbers. He is like he's as a mathematician, <v Speaker 4>but he had no history with something crime. <v Speaker 2>I get where you're coming from. <v Speaker 4>But yeah, that that that was there was another show? <v Speaker 4>Wasn't it another show? Much like Numbers Numbers? <v Speaker 2>Was it called words? Who knows? But I mean I'm <v Speaker 2>a sucker for those kind of shows, but i usually <v Speaker 2>get about two or three seasons and I'm like kind <v Speaker 2>of done now. Oh yeah, Look, as I have said <v Speaker 2>many times, I was deep in the pocket for The <v Speaker 2>black List. That was great at the start, wasn't start <v Speaker 2>my man, James Spader, I'm like, oh, you know, it's <v Speaker 2>just a it's a nice little mystery every week, and <v Speaker 2>you know there's a big mystery, and yeah, as an arc, <v Speaker 2>but it's mainly this each episode by episode. Yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 2>self contained stories overriding arc that's what you want. I <v Speaker 2>think I made it like five seasons and I'm like, <v Speaker 2>it's gonna be complicated. <v Speaker 4>They always ruined it by going, how do we focus <v Speaker 4>on like the in house drama? And I'm like, no, <v Speaker 4>I don't want see Olivia beds and fighting with you, <v Speaker 4>like I want to see them solving crimes. <v Speaker 2>What the hell is going on here? Cross another name <v Speaker 2>off the black list sample? <v Speaker 4>Oh wait, he's not the father spoilless I said, I <v Speaker 4>was only halfway through. I might have gone back to <v Speaker 4>it anyway. <v Speaker 2>Guys, thank you for checking out here, our YouTube viewers, <v Speaker 2>our review of dial and for nerder.
