Revisiting ECW Hardcore TV 1996 Kurt Angle Debut, The Sandman Crucified, ECW High Incident 1996

DEADLOCK: A Pro Wrestling Podcast

The most controversial night in ECW history happened on the October 29th, 1996 episode of Hardcore TV. Coming from ECW High Incident 1996, this episode features one of the biggest and maybe worst moments of all time. Not only that, but Kurt Angle makes his one and only ECW appearance. This was before he was even a pro wrestler. ECW was trying to get him to join the company so they had him make an in-ring appearance and then do commentary for Taz vs Little Guido. After that it looked like Kurt was going to have a program with Taz. That was until the incident happened. After The Sandman successfully defended his title against 2 Cold Scorpio, Raven returned from injury. It looked as if the Sandman’s son was going to join back with his dad; he previously left to join Raven. However, Raven surprised everyone and hit Sandman with a Singapore cane! That is where the episode leaves us. In reality, that was not the end. Raven, Steve Richards, and The Blue Meanie, brought out a cross and crucified a bloody and battered Sandman! They hoisted him up and put a barbed wire “crown of thorns" on his head! This moment was so controversial that ECW couldn’t air it or Kurt Angle would sue them! He never made another appearance for ECW again. All this and more from ECW High Incident. Plus, The DEADLOCK Draft is back with the top 5 wrestling video games of all time!

<v Speaker 2>where Sandman gets crucified.
<v Speaker 1>No come, it's the episode where Salmon is supposed to
<v Speaker 1>be crucified, right, but a certain wrestler had put that
<v Speaker 1>a stop to that.
<v Speaker 3>And then we'll talk about a curt angle that's pretty awesome.
<v Speaker 1>Before we get.
<v Speaker 2>Into that, we have the Deadlock updates here.

<v Speaker 1>way forced his dumb ass to get that.
<v Speaker 2>That's awesome.
<v Speaker 1>I love MATCHO only shows up for death matches. He
<v Speaker 1>never watches death matches unless we make them. That's awesome.

<v Speaker 1>a lot of rumbles, though figured out. I think usually
<v Speaker 1>we do a Rumble in January, so we figured we'll
<v Speaker 1>give it a go nineteen ninety two Rumble. I actually

<v Speaker 1>Luck PW go check that shit out.
<v Speaker 2>All right, now it's time to get into the Deadlock draft.
<v Speaker 2>Is that Rocky? I like that?
<v Speaker 1>No, I just made this out.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, the theme song of Philadelphia.
<v Speaker 1>I thought it's the theme song of the draft, of course,
<v Speaker 1>and I just the draft this week. We actually put
<v Speaker 1>up a thread the other week on the Patreon to
<v Speaker 1>see some suggestions for things that we can draft, and
<v Speaker 1>there was a lot of good ones. So we had
<v Speaker 1>a good list here, So thank you all for that.
<v Speaker 1>This week we're gonna be drafting top five wrestling video
<v Speaker 1>games us. We are all video game freaks. We've all
<v Speaker 1>met through the world of wrestling video games. So I
<v Speaker 1>guess it's a pretty well suited for this show. I
<v Speaker 1>think we're gonna keep the order that we kept on
<v Speaker 1>the last draft. Tony will go first, then I will go,
<v Speaker 1>then James will go twice, and then I'll go back
<v Speaker 1>the other way. That little snake James, Little slippery snake James.
<v Speaker 1>So as usual draft to you know, if you pick
<v Speaker 1>one game, it's off the board. No one else can
<v Speaker 1>pick it. It's your game for So Tony, you get
<v Speaker 1>the first pick here though, you have to pick your
<v Speaker 1>first wrestling video game.
<v Speaker 4>This is crazy.
<v Speaker 3>There's a lot of good ones, but I'm gonna have
<v Speaker 3>to go with the all time classic that what.
<v Speaker 1>Don't don't pick a fucking one that I'm gone on
<v Speaker 1>my list here. I know you you see my list,
<v Speaker 1>don't I can't pick my game.
<v Speaker 3>Don't know what you got?
<v Speaker 1>All right?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah?
<v Speaker 3>Just because this is one of the games that played
<v Speaker 3>the most of all time. Is w if No Mercy
<v Speaker 3>for n sixty four?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean that's right, all time classic. Yeah, there's
<v Speaker 1>like three.
<v Speaker 3>You either have this one or another one, and that
<v Speaker 3>one's gonna get taken right away, but.
<v Speaker 1>One's probably going next year. Yeah exactly, but I have
<v Speaker 1>to but go on.
<v Speaker 3>But I knew that No Mercy, Like I had N
<v Speaker 3>sixty four growing up. That was a game, you know,
<v Speaker 3>No Mercy, the all Timers.
<v Speaker 4>So I played that in the game.
<v Speaker 3>Anybody that had a N sixty four was playing this game,
<v Speaker 3>even if they didn't like wrestling, they would just pick
<v Speaker 3>like stone Colder the Rock or something plays them that.
<v Speaker 1>I do that in current games, any game I could
<v Speaker 1>get up picking still, yeah for sure. Okay, I imagine
<v Speaker 1>this is gonna go quick, so I might as well
<v Speaker 1>fucking just peel this one off. Here first game for me, SmackDown,
<v Speaker 1>Here comes the Pain. Yeah, I mean, like I imagine those.
<v Speaker 2>That's one of my goat games. It's fucking I'm not
<v Speaker 2>even telling abou wrestling. I'm just on my games.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean, that game just so much fun, dude.
<v Speaker 1>There's so much shit in that game too, Like, I mean,
<v Speaker 1>he'll Billy Jim's in the game. I know you like that.
<v Speaker 1>You're right, it's nuts.
<v Speaker 2>It comes downing.
<v Speaker 1>I mean like it's obviously the last technically the last
<v Speaker 1>of the SmackDown series as well, and like, I think
<v Speaker 1>they got a lot right with that game. Season modes
<v Speaker 1>fucking fun as hell, really fun roster. Yeah, one of
<v Speaker 1>those games that I can just like, if I'm in
<v Speaker 1>the mood to play a wrestling game, that's one of
<v Speaker 1>the ones coming to mind first. That's it's hard to
<v Speaker 1>not just.
<v Speaker 2>Pick it up. I'm gonna go with w w E
<v Speaker 2>SmackDown shut your mouth.
<v Speaker 1>Fuck god. Okay, that was my number one until I
<v Speaker 1>thought everyone else was gonna take Here Comes the Pain,
<v Speaker 1>because like I love.
<v Speaker 2>Sugar Mouth, I was gonna take Here Comes the Pain.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I figured this was gonna happen.
<v Speaker 2>I'm gonna have to go with uh Virtual Wrestling too.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that's fucking god. That's why this sucks. That's a
<v Speaker 1>good one in.
<v Speaker 2>A row, golden time for wrestling video games back then.
<v Speaker 2>And I'm glad that Virtual Pro Wrestling two exist, and
<v Speaker 2>I'm glad there's the mod that allows us to read
<v Speaker 2>everything in English and play it and get to experience
<v Speaker 2>that game. It is super super dope, like having like
<v Speaker 2>the g one type shit in there, the champion card,
<v Speaker 2>that's awesome. Yeah it's dope.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, okay, uh me, yes, that's right. I'm gonna
<v Speaker 1>go with Day Reckoning one. I'm gonna just get that
<v Speaker 1>because that's one of my favorite fucking wrestling games. I'm
<v Speaker 1>gonna take that. I imagine my other pick will not
<v Speaker 1>be here long, but dayre Reckoning one is one of
<v Speaker 1>my fucking favorite wrestling games of all time. In fact,
<v Speaker 1>it's it might be my favorite wrestling game of all time.
<v Speaker 1>That the move collisions change my life like that is
<v Speaker 1>always something I want to In all the SmackDown games
<v Speaker 1>where you could interrupt moves by just attacking somebody that
<v Speaker 1>I thought that was the cool shit. Ever, Day Reckoning
<v Speaker 1>still might have my favorite creator wrestler system where you
<v Speaker 1>could make so much shit. Story mode is fucking fun,
<v Speaker 1>lot of fun match types, you know, doing in ladder
<v Speaker 1>matches is just insane, Like yeah, the weapon physics and
<v Speaker 1>the game were fun, like everything breaks the Ship One's awesome.
<v Speaker 1>An underrated game, I feel like because I don't think
<v Speaker 1>a lot of people had the game Cube, so they
<v Speaker 1>probably didn't play this game.
<v Speaker 4>All right, I guess it's my turn now.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, I will go with w W E two K
<v Speaker 3>fourteen my favorite of the even though I don't think
<v Speaker 3>it's a two K game.
<v Speaker 4>It's a t HQ game. It's a two K slapped
<v Speaker 4>on the title.
<v Speaker 3>It's a YUS game, right, so it doesn't really count
<v Speaker 3>as a two K. Everyone says it's best two K,
<v Speaker 3>but it's not two K game. They slapped it on there.
<v Speaker 3>It had so much ship in that game to create
<v Speaker 3>a story to the thirty years of WrestleMania. Defeat the Streak, right, wasn't.
<v Speaker 1>That part of the game.
<v Speaker 4>It was so much fun.
<v Speaker 3>And even like a year or two ago, people were
<v Speaker 3>trying to beat the streak again. I remember that much.
<v Speaker 4>That was not.
<v Speaker 3>Even like the thirty years of WrestleMania because they didn't
<v Speaker 3>have like the sling shot technology.
<v Speaker 4>What do they call it?
<v Speaker 3>Is that they call that the sling shot where they
<v Speaker 3>show the real footage and instead of the stuff in
<v Speaker 3>the matches.
<v Speaker 1>I love when they just animated.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, yeah, yeah, and that was way cooler. So yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I love this game.
<v Speaker 1>All Timer got to put out the top of my list.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, okay, And then also going with that, I'm going
<v Speaker 3>with w W All Stars because I.
<v Speaker 4>Love that game.
<v Speaker 3>That's fun, because I actually love that game. It's not
<v Speaker 3>just like but it's not from you. It's like on
<v Speaker 3>my list. Actually, I think that's just a good game.
<v Speaker 1>But I didn't think that was going.
<v Speaker 3>No, of course that game is going. That's one of
<v Speaker 3>my favorite that games, awesome rated game. A lot of
<v Speaker 3>people know talking about the counter system in that game
<v Speaker 3>where he counter moves and other moves that.
<v Speaker 1>Is it's so fun.
<v Speaker 2>Was like the goals move.
<v Speaker 4>Ever in that game.
<v Speaker 3>You could hit it like literally when they're jumping off
<v Speaker 3>the top rope and it's awesome.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, it was crazy.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, everybody looked juiced out, and.
<v Speaker 3>We all know we loved everybody when they look it's awesome. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>so much fun to play.
<v Speaker 2>It was just good fun.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah all right, Uh for my third game here, I'm
<v Speaker 1>going to go with Fire Pro Wrestling World. That is
<v Speaker 1>my next game here. I love Fire Pro. I played
<v Speaker 1>a ton of Fire Pro Returns as a teenager. So
<v Speaker 1>Fire Pro Wrestling World coming out was like fucking crazy
<v Speaker 1>because I never thought there'd be another Fire Pro game,
<v Speaker 1>let alone to the extent that they fucking made this one,
<v Speaker 1>because like, this game kicks s. They put out so
<v Speaker 1>much shit, like where you like the the the amount
<v Speaker 1>of customization you can do for this game is ungodly,
<v Speaker 1>Like the game still lives just because they put out
<v Speaker 1>a legit delcy of create a move, create body parts, like.
<v Speaker 3>That is the most insane thing ever creating the moves,
<v Speaker 3>and there's like forks and stuff and like, like the
<v Speaker 3>most insane.
<v Speaker 1>I created some moves. I created a move. We're fart
<v Speaker 1>on a dude, throw forks and people.
<v Speaker 3>I forgot I made that in that game, did you? Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>like where you throw across the ring and Kim style.
<v Speaker 4>It was awesome.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean fire Pro Wrestling World's fucking fantastic game.
<v Speaker 1>Fire Pro. I mean, like, I don't know if there
<v Speaker 1>will ever be another fire Pro game. I probably felt
<v Speaker 1>the same way as I do now when I was,
<v Speaker 1>you know, playing Returns that okay, this is probably but
<v Speaker 1>I mean, if this is it for fire Pro, what
<v Speaker 1>a great way to go out A lot of a
<v Speaker 1>lot of I mean, great fucking game, great game to watch,
<v Speaker 1>green game to play. I enjoyed very much.
<v Speaker 2>All Right, I'm gonna have to go with fire Pro
<v Speaker 2>Wrestling World.
<v Speaker 1>You beat.
<v Speaker 6>It's okay, It's okay to say Returns that was good too.
<v Speaker 1>You can put on a memory took All Stars from me.
<v Speaker 6>What the USB stick and it puts people on the game.
<v Speaker 1>I did that ship I had ed on there too.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah you could.
<v Speaker 1>You should have had Tony not pick All Stars and man,
<v Speaker 1>come on, Tony, all right, come on, sorry about that?
<v Speaker 2>All right? All right, So I'm gonna go. I'm gonna
<v Speaker 2>go with Day of Reckoning two. It's got Stacey Keebler
<v Speaker 2>on the front. Uh yeah. And then also I'm gonna
<v Speaker 2>have to go with SmackDown versus Raw two thousand and
<v Speaker 2>five or six, whatever you want to call it.
<v Speaker 1>You got to pick one.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, it's like the same game. It's like it
<v Speaker 2>givebout two thousand and five, right, like, yeah, that's five.
<v Speaker 1>Is the first one? Yeah right, okay, you're going for five.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. I had a lot of fun with that game.
<v Speaker 2>It is still felt like it comes to pain, like
<v Speaker 2>it didn't have any of the ship yet that they
<v Speaker 2>decided they need to put on try to get you
<v Speaker 2>to play a certain way. I felt like SmackDown versus
<v Speaker 2>Raw O G Edition allowed you to still play. Here
<v Speaker 2>comes to Paint South.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah that's that's this is my fourth I believe, is
<v Speaker 1>that right?
<v Speaker 4>Yea?
<v Speaker 1>My fourth pick is w CWNW Revenge. What a great
<v Speaker 1>fucking game. I mean, uh, like for like, this is
<v Speaker 1>probably like, you know, the best w CW game I.
<v Speaker 4>Ever.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean some people like World Tour a lot.
<v Speaker 1>Like I've seen people say that World Tour they like
<v Speaker 1>better than Revenge. I'm not one of those people, maybe
<v Speaker 1>because World Tour is closer to like the Japan equivalent
<v Speaker 1>game it was. But Revenge is awesome. You know, if
<v Speaker 1>you're if you love you know, No Mercy or you know,
<v Speaker 1>Wrestling two thousand or whatever, like and you're looking for
<v Speaker 1>a just oh shit, here's the w CW has a
<v Speaker 1>game and it plays it plays exactly like w WS
<v Speaker 1>game and it's insane. Yeah, that's nuts. I loved, uh,
<v Speaker 1>you know, being able to swap fucking the wrestlers in
<v Speaker 1>the game. You could swap their retires. So like I
<v Speaker 1>think I played this with you. I did it with
<v Speaker 1>you Tony a few times where we played it and
<v Speaker 1>like I would make Laparka join the flop and that
<v Speaker 1>meant he wore ravens.
<v Speaker 3>Uh yeah, you just it's his body. It's Raven's body
<v Speaker 3>on his head.
<v Speaker 4>It's crazy.
<v Speaker 1>They don't really have a story mode in that, but
<v Speaker 1>like playing through the championship things where you have to
<v Speaker 1>beat a bunch of dudes to get a title.
<v Speaker 4>Is cool, and then unlock somebody.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah yeah yeah, un locked dudes, and like there's just
<v Speaker 1>something nostalgic about that game to me. It's just you know,
<v Speaker 1>it's it's just an hour of my life that I
<v Speaker 1>was like, Oh, this is fucking sweet. So yeah, wad
<v Speaker 1>be under Revenge, great fucking game. That's my number four.
<v Speaker 6>All right, it's gone for my number four here.
<v Speaker 4>Finals Yeah, four and five I have to figure out.
<v Speaker 3>But I got SBR twenty eleven on my list here
<v Speaker 3>because I had Road to WrestleMania there and that's like
<v Speaker 3>the first I did the whole universe with out of
<v Speaker 3>my YouTube channel, so that was like historic.
<v Speaker 1>I just was talking about Smackers were all twenty eleven
<v Speaker 1>with James Legit like two days ago, I feel like,
<v Speaker 1>because we were starting the weapon physics.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, it's great.
<v Speaker 3>Game is awesome, so fun to play, just awesome.
<v Speaker 4>Again.
<v Speaker 3>The Road WrestleMania is still I don't know why that's
<v Speaker 3>not in modern games.
<v Speaker 4>Great mode, love that mode.
<v Speaker 1>No, I don't know what fun as fuck, I don't know.
<v Speaker 4>Why, but yeah, so much fun.
<v Speaker 3>Love that game, Alzheimer for me, just nostalgic because I
<v Speaker 3>played it so much and did.
<v Speaker 4>So many YouTube videos on it.
<v Speaker 3>Sure definitely putting that up there and your final final
<v Speaker 3>because you sniped my ws W game.
<v Speaker 4>I'm like over here sitting Okay.
<v Speaker 1>I had a feeling that was going so like, I'm
<v Speaker 1>glad that I took it, son of a bit.
<v Speaker 3>So WTF attitude holds a good place.
<v Speaker 4>In my heart. I'm just kidding that game.
<v Speaker 1>I was gonna say, wow, what good.
<v Speaker 4>No, that sucks.
<v Speaker 1>I'm gonna take Okay, don't Wrestling World, No Fire for Wrestling.
<v Speaker 3>No, I'm taking uh just because the different the game
<v Speaker 3>was so different. I'm going with WWF WrestleMania the Arcade
<v Speaker 3>game on my list. Ye, because it's a different kind
<v Speaker 3>of game. It's not it's like moral combat meets WF.
<v Speaker 3>And I always thought that was cool because I was
<v Speaker 3>a big moral combat head as a kid. So when
<v Speaker 3>that game came out, I was like, oh, you could
<v Speaker 3>do it like the Undertaker's finisher and like the tomb
<v Speaker 3>Stold would come out and you have goblins come out.
<v Speaker 2>I thought that was really sure. Yeah, I mean it
<v Speaker 2>is all over the place.
<v Speaker 4>It's a crazy game.
<v Speaker 3>It is fun, and they did like, yeah, oh what
<v Speaker 3>you said.
<v Speaker 1>No, I was saying, I played that a few years
<v Speaker 1>ago and it made me fucking so mad that it
<v Speaker 1>is a hard game.
<v Speaker 6>It is a very hard game, especially when you.
<v Speaker 3>Get to the end of like the you do like
<v Speaker 3>the run the Champion PA, it's like three versus one
<v Speaker 3>and it's just fucking bullshit.
<v Speaker 1>As bullshit.
<v Speaker 3>But yeah, but it's so fun to play, and it's
<v Speaker 3>like it's just like a nostalgia for me.
<v Speaker 4>So I put that on there.
<v Speaker 1>That's fucking I mean, that's that's fair. I'm trying to
<v Speaker 1>figure out what I Okay, so my last one here, Uh,
<v Speaker 1>I'm gonna go s v R O six. I mean
<v Speaker 1>I'm a big gm mode head. So like that was
<v Speaker 1>like a big part of that for me. I thought
<v Speaker 1>the season mode and also is fun in that game
<v Speaker 1>for as wonky as like the mocap is for a
<v Speaker 1>lot of that ship. I think that made it fun
<v Speaker 1>for me and the voiceovers. But yeah, SBR six is fun.
<v Speaker 1>It's still not too far removed from like you know,
<v Speaker 1>as we were saying, like here comes the pain plays.
<v Speaker 1>They did add some different kind of ship like the
<v Speaker 1>gameplay definitely starts slowing down as we get deeper into
<v Speaker 1>the SVR games. But yeah, I mean like Season Mode and.
<v Speaker 2>I think two thousand and six still had all the
<v Speaker 2>animations still.
<v Speaker 1>I think so too.
<v Speaker 2>I think it was seven where they took them all out.
<v Speaker 1>Sure, yeah, and O seven GM Mode is not as
<v Speaker 1>good either. They kind of went too far with the
<v Speaker 1>bull shit there. But yeah, SPR six is probably my
<v Speaker 1>number five here. It was on my list so everything.
<v Speaker 1>Oddly enough, legit, I wrote down a list of ten games.
<v Speaker 1>I think all of them went like legit, all of
<v Speaker 1>them went and.
<v Speaker 3>Weren't even like I wasn't trying to sniper nothing either.
<v Speaker 3>It was just just so happened though we liked the same.
<v Speaker 1>Games, like like s R six was the last game
<v Speaker 1>that I had on my list that wasn't picked, So like,
<v Speaker 1>I guess that's probably right.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, that's it, Like, damn fucking I'm gonna go
<v Speaker 2>with uh play all. No, I'll go with I'll go
<v Speaker 2>with TNA Impact. That's fucking not bad at all.
<v Speaker 1>I think.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, for a number five pick, I think that's
<v Speaker 2>a good slot for It's a game that I enjoy.
<v Speaker 2>I think about all the time. Really, like whenever I
<v Speaker 2>think a wrestling gamesa Impact comes to mind of like
<v Speaker 2>a game I had fun with and then the only
<v Speaker 2>thing I thought I when I was sings with is wow,
<v Speaker 2>they have so much stuff they can do here, like
<v Speaker 2>to take this game to the next level, and then
<v Speaker 2>never got the chance to do it. A game that
<v Speaker 2>had so much promise. I think, yeah, it had more.
<v Speaker 2>It had more promise than it did moves and.
<v Speaker 1>The moves that they had were good, they were awesome.
<v Speaker 2>The game was fun. Yeah, the story, the story mode
<v Speaker 2>is super memorable. Being in attack team called Soggy Biscuits
<v Speaker 2>is nuts. That's exactly what happens, and I have to
<v Speaker 2>respect that they would do that. So yeah, I'm gonna
<v Speaker 2>put T and A Impact as my final game here.
<v Speaker 2>It's good exclusively on the Nintendo.
<v Speaker 1>We understandable it is you want to trade? No, All right,
<v Speaker 1>that settles it. Well, there you go. That was finn.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, I love these, thank you h for Hey,
<v Speaker 1>if you all please let us know what you're uh,
<v Speaker 1>let us know what your lists are, not including the
<v Speaker 1>games that we you dropped. Now the listeners to you
<v Speaker 1>took everything that we didn't pick. Good luck.
<v Speaker 2>All right now, it's time to get into ECW. Hardcore
<v Speaker 2>Television or October twenty ninth, nineteen ninety six.
<v Speaker 1>W Wow, long time ago. Huh you old old men
<v Speaker 1>unlike me, young and spry.
<v Speaker 2>I'm the youngest one here.
<v Speaker 1>Shut the fuck up.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, so Hardcore Television was a syndicated show that aired
<v Speaker 2>in local networks and also in random places like Florida
<v Speaker 2>and whatever.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, the case was with what they could get. So
<v Speaker 2>this is also a very historic here for ECW. So
<v Speaker 2>much of their cool shit happened in ninety six is unbelievable.
<v Speaker 1>It's all I mean, like, yeah, this is like I mean,
<v Speaker 1>people talk about, you know, the later years of ECW
<v Speaker 1>being the stuff they remember more, but obviously that's probably
<v Speaker 1>a lot to do with them getting more shows out
<v Speaker 1>there by like yeah, ninety six ninety seven, that's like
<v Speaker 1>the ECW years for you know, all the stuff that like,
<v Speaker 1>most of the stuff that's replayed and talked about in
<v Speaker 1>terms of story and fucking crazy shit happened during this time,
<v Speaker 1>and crazy shit happens on this one. So much crazy stuff.
<v Speaker 1>Something so crazy that it did not air and the
<v Speaker 1>only foot it I think came out from like WWE documentaries.
<v Speaker 1>But we will get into that as we go further
<v Speaker 1>into the show. But before we get into the show,
<v Speaker 1>let's talk about what was going on in the world
<v Speaker 1>wrestling at the time with the Wrestling Observer. Newsletter from
<v Speaker 1>The Observer October twenty eighth, nineteen ninety six, Brett Hart
<v Speaker 1>agreed to a twenty year contract with the Walters Veteration
<v Speaker 1>just prior to making an announcement of his return on
<v Speaker 1>the Live Monday Night Rolls show from Fort Wayne, Indiana
<v Speaker 1>on October twenty first. Wow, Obviously this changes pretty quickly,
<v Speaker 1>and Brett Hart does not in fact have a twenty
<v Speaker 1>year contract.
<v Speaker 3>Saying that you can sign a twenty year contract and
<v Speaker 3>then it's just taken away from you. That's yeah, gnarly wow.
<v Speaker 1>So he would have been signed if this would have
<v Speaker 1>stayed until twenty sixteen.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, is that right?
<v Speaker 2>Twenty sixteen?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, Yeah, this is correct. That is insane. Even fucking
<v Speaker 1>fathom that twenty sixteen Bretteart on top.
<v Speaker 4>That would be crazy.
<v Speaker 1>Wrestlings.
<v Speaker 2>The Mills ain't making it into Brett Hart's w WL.
<v Speaker 1>Yes he is.
<v Speaker 2>He's not.
<v Speaker 3>He would have never got kicked by Goldberg and his
<v Speaker 3>crew would be going strong until.
<v Speaker 2>Tony Goldberg would come to the w WL.
<v Speaker 1>Right, they would end up in the ring at sub
<v Speaker 1>port there, you're right.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I mean Bred should have went to TNA is
<v Speaker 2>what really should have happened.
<v Speaker 1>I think everybody should have went to t NA.
<v Speaker 2>Though, Yeah, I mean Brett would have sold out the
<v Speaker 2>effect soon every every week.
<v Speaker 1>Oh my god, you know as t N a thing
<v Speaker 1>would have been sick.
<v Speaker 2>Dude would have been awesome. A little tunnel, Tony Brett
<v Speaker 2>in the tunnel and they do the cam from the
<v Speaker 2>back as he's walking through it. Pink. Oh my god.
<v Speaker 1>Wow.
<v Speaker 2>Should have went to TNA.
<v Speaker 1>Binley said it twenty year doing DNA. He would be
<v Speaker 1>the king of the mountain Brett Hart.
<v Speaker 2>Wow, he would have lost to Jeff Jarrett. He would
<v Speaker 2>have been with.
<v Speaker 1>So many guitars it's not even funny. I would the
<v Speaker 1>guitars he would have he would have joined Planet Jarrett.
<v Speaker 1>Damn anyone who went to New Japan. I mean, this
<v Speaker 1>is a good run. I'm just imagining Brett doing everything.
<v Speaker 1>He just styles.
<v Speaker 2>It when he goes to a run.
<v Speaker 1>That sounds awesome. From the Observer, November fourth, nineteen ninety
<v Speaker 1>six in East w News on the October twenty fifth
<v Speaker 1>show in jim Thorpe, Pa, after the gangster's beat the
<v Speaker 1>eliminators in the main event. I'm sure you're shocked that
<v Speaker 1>the gangsters are finishing a police officer from a nearby
<v Speaker 1>town and new Jack got into it. I'm sure you're
<v Speaker 1>also surprised at New Jack's fighting police. Who started it
<v Speaker 1>depends on whose version one chooses to believe. But New
<v Speaker 1>Jack hopped the guard rail after the guy and punches
<v Speaker 1>were exchanged and Perry Saturn, Bubba Ray Dudley and maybe
<v Speaker 1>Taz ended up out there and there was what was
<v Speaker 1>described as a riot to lasting from fifteen seconds to
<v Speaker 1>three minutes, in which Nujack ended up collapsing and paramedics came.
<v Speaker 1>Although both EW and WWFS of late are doing angles
<v Speaker 1>with so called fans getting beaten up by wrestlers, this
<v Speaker 1>definitely wasn't one of them.
<v Speaker 2>And maybe Taz I love that like, he just wasn't
<v Speaker 2>too sure. Could have been anybody, you know.
<v Speaker 1>A lot of guys look like Taz in the jim
<v Speaker 1>Thorpe Pa area. In WWF News, they started doing televised
<v Speaker 1>features on someone named uh d Wayne Johnson who will
<v Speaker 1>go as Rocky Mayavilla to honor his father and grandfather
<v Speaker 1>and showed tape of both of them in the WWF.
<v Speaker 1>Do Wayne Johnson an any anything here?
<v Speaker 2>I hope he does well?
<v Speaker 1>See I was thinking the opposite.
<v Speaker 2>I hope he goes to Tnaganne Johnson and the Donnell
<v Speaker 2>I mean, what the fuck?
<v Speaker 1>More WWF news. Chris Candido quit at the TV tapings
<v Speaker 1>because they didn't have a role for him and wanted
<v Speaker 1>him to on to teach new talent, and he felt
<v Speaker 1>that at twenty four it was too young for him
<v Speaker 1>to be out of the ring and teaching new talents,
<v Speaker 1>so he quit to go to ECW and probably will
<v Speaker 1>go to All Japan in nineteen ninety seven. Candido apparently
<v Speaker 1>he is also leaving overheat with Shawn Michaels. I would
<v Speaker 1>get upset at him using hot moves in prelim matches
<v Speaker 1>on the house shows, moves which he thought were apparently
<v Speaker 1>his domain.
<v Speaker 2>He was doing the blonde bombshell.
<v Speaker 1>Sean was Domaine. You don't remember Sean doing that all
<v Speaker 1>the time. He passed down to his cousin Michael Shade.
<v Speaker 2>Michael Michael.
<v Speaker 1>Last thing here from The Observer November eleventh, nineteen ninety six.
<v Speaker 1>This is in regards to the show that we watched here. Also, actually,
<v Speaker 1>I'll save this part for when we get to this
<v Speaker 1>part of the show because I don't want to jump
<v Speaker 1>into too fear. So let's get into EASTV Hardcore TV.
<v Speaker 1>October twenty ninth, nineteen ninety six.
<v Speaker 2>So we kick off Hardcore TV with a clip of
<v Speaker 2>a scaffold match at High Incident. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>So ECB would do like you know, big arena shows,
<v Speaker 1>and then they would use that to feed to the
<v Speaker 1>TV for weeks to come to build up to the
<v Speaker 1>next one. So this is like building to the fourth
<v Speaker 1>annual November. To remember, I watched the rece dub version
<v Speaker 1>of this on archive. Shout out to the rec dub team.
<v Speaker 1>Shit's fucking awesome.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, thank you guys so much. Yeah, I watched too,
<v Speaker 2>and I think it's always very cool to see that.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, man, Like you know, I mean, I can watch
<v Speaker 1>it on peacock, but like there's definitely a charm to
<v Speaker 1>watching it in its original capacity, and like it's so
<v Speaker 1>easy to fucking access the shout out to them for
<v Speaker 1>the hard work they put into that. So Yes, recap
<v Speaker 1>of High Incidents from October twenty sixth, nineteen ninety six,
<v Speaker 1>Tommy Dreamer versus Brian Lee in a scaffold match. This
<v Speaker 1>might be one of the first ECW things. I saw
<v Speaker 1>the clip of this, So the clip of Dreamer beating
<v Speaker 1>this fucking dude in the head as they are hanging
<v Speaker 1>on top of a scaffold, and then this dude falls
<v Speaker 1>through a billion table.
<v Speaker 3>I don't think I've ever seen the actual match. I've
<v Speaker 3>only seen that clip. I've never I can imagine them
<v Speaker 3>climbing and them setting up tables, and I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>It looks like some like snuff thing you download off
<v Speaker 2>like LimeWire or something.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah right, you downloaded.
<v Speaker 2>And be like, holy fuck, what happened here?
<v Speaker 1>Like is that guy?
<v Speaker 2>Okay?
<v Speaker 1>This thing is horrifying. Also, I don't know if you
<v Speaker 1>guys know this. This scaffold for the Dreamer nine one
<v Speaker 1>one scaffold match was built by this sandman. Oh nice. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I guess he was a carpenter and he built Swing Dreamer.
<v Speaker 1>And I think the story goes he built it the
<v Speaker 1>night before and then fucked the girl on it the
<v Speaker 1>same night, and then they had the show the next day.
<v Speaker 1>Oh nice? Wow? Yeah?
<v Speaker 2>Was it his wife?
<v Speaker 1>You know, I don't want to. I don't know. I'm
<v Speaker 1>sure it was. Joey Styles then opens the show. In
<v Speaker 1>the ring, he welcomes everyone to e c W, the
<v Speaker 1>world's most famous Bengal hall. You guys haven't been right ever. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I fucking practically grew up in this fucker, Joey says.
<v Speaker 1>Even though ECW is, without a doubt, the most extreme
<v Speaker 1>pro sport legal in this country today, we also have
<v Speaker 1>an appreciation for amateur sports. For example, our friends up
<v Speaker 1>in Stanford, the World Wrestling Federation, Joey says, the WWF
<v Speaker 1>have a very accomplished amateur athlete working for them, former
<v Speaker 1>Olympian Mark Henry. Boo, I don't we don't know who
<v Speaker 1>that is yet, sorry boo. He just signed a ten
<v Speaker 1>year deal, not like Bret Hart. Joey says, I mean,
<v Speaker 1>how do you, uh, you know, how do you train
<v Speaker 1>for long that long to be olympian? And he hurt
<v Speaker 1>his knee and he didn't win a medal. But come
<v Speaker 1>on now, I said, oh, all right, Barry, Mark Henry,
<v Speaker 1>that's fucking crazy. That's good. And he says, how about
<v Speaker 1>our neighbors down in Atlanta. I'm sure you've seen silver
<v Speaker 1>medalists and wrestling Matt wrestle on Nitro. Who the fuck
<v Speaker 1>is Matt Dafaria?
<v Speaker 3>I think it was Matt Jaafari if I'm looking at
<v Speaker 3>it correctly, because he.
<v Speaker 1>Was like right, not probably, I mean, okay, I had
<v Speaker 1>to look it up.
<v Speaker 3>But he was actually like an Olympic athlete amateur professional wrestler.
<v Speaker 3>I guess like they they had like announced him, like
<v Speaker 3>there was like videos of him on Nitro, but he
<v Speaker 3>never actually like came into Nitro. They just like they
<v Speaker 3>had vignettes for him, but he didn't sign up with
<v Speaker 3>the company. According to like Wikipedia, they say he was
<v Speaker 3>scouted by w c W and featured in Yeah that guy,
<v Speaker 3>and he featured in several vignettes but did not sign
<v Speaker 3>up with the company.
<v Speaker 2>So like that's big Vito.
<v Speaker 1>Professor X.
<v Speaker 3>So apparently they just had promos for him and he
<v Speaker 3>never signed a contract.
<v Speaker 4>They didn't want to wrestle, So I don't know what
<v Speaker 4>happened to him.
<v Speaker 1>Fucking awesome, Well, I guess you know he Well, he
<v Speaker 1>was a silver medalist Tony.
<v Speaker 2>You might know him as Tony marinera.
<v Speaker 1>Joey Stoless. The hours of training and sacrificeing the diet
<v Speaker 1>day night to win a silver medal. He's been on
<v Speaker 1>w so if he said he's gonna get involved and
<v Speaker 1>we're gonna have an amateur wrestler, here we go for
<v Speaker 1>the gold. So at this time I want to have
<v Speaker 1>an extreme welcome for the man that won a gold
<v Speaker 1>medal for that s good tree, Kurt Angle, And I
<v Speaker 1>was like, oh fuck, that's right. This is this one
<v Speaker 1>that Kurt is on, because that's why we don't see
<v Speaker 1>the Sandman part of this show. Kurt comes out and
<v Speaker 1>he's got his gold medal on. He's slapping fans hands
<v Speaker 1>on the way out, and he has a big ass
<v Speaker 1>blue pager on his belt.
<v Speaker 2>Olympian music like.
<v Speaker 4>Through the Tunnel and everything behind, shot behind.
<v Speaker 1>Music, focus on dude.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I mean, this is the most ninety six looking man, Like,
<v Speaker 2>this is the kind of guy you have seen a
<v Speaker 2>sick com He's the family.
<v Speaker 1>Dad of four, you know, like just.
<v Speaker 3>Ever coming out, smiling, chewing bubblegum, loving lif in the grass.
<v Speaker 2>You know what I mean. Hey neighbor, it's good to
<v Speaker 2>see you.
<v Speaker 1>So Joey says mister Angle. It was one of the
<v Speaker 1>greatest moments in Olympic history when you won the medal
<v Speaker 1>and you collapse on your knees and you put the
<v Speaker 1>gold medal on your mom. Uh. He didn't say like that.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know why it's ben't like that either, And
<v Speaker 1>I thought, you like to know the young man sitting
<v Speaker 1>there that's gonna compete in this matchup. Little Guido is
<v Speaker 1>quite an amateur wrestler himself, New York State High school
<v Speaker 1>wrestling champion, big competing in the UWF and Japan and
<v Speaker 1>just won a big match. And Kirk gets on the
<v Speaker 1>bike and says, I know this guy. That's Damian Stone.
<v Speaker 2>Kurt, that is Damien Stone. Did you know that our
<v Speaker 2>heavyweight champion of the world had sex with his wife
<v Speaker 2>on the scaffold?
<v Speaker 1>A high incident, wasn't his wife?
<v Speaker 2>I don't know. When you have the answer, hit my page.
<v Speaker 2>You're up.
<v Speaker 1>Our evyweight champion.
<v Speaker 2>Oh here's our heavyweight champion, Kirt.
<v Speaker 1>How did Kurt like not figured there might have been
<v Speaker 1>something nefarious going on? But he stepped into the locker
<v Speaker 1>room ship the Sandman and there's bunch of money doing carract. Hey, Krry,
<v Speaker 1>we built this cross.
<v Speaker 6>We're gonna crucify me to night.
<v Speaker 2>In the locker room, girl said he's like looking down
<v Speaker 2>on the cross.
<v Speaker 6>He's the cross is so big. There's no way.
<v Speaker 2>Was it in the locker room.
<v Speaker 1>And Kurtigles saw that ship. There's no no. I mean
<v Speaker 1>to be fair Tony, no way. Curt showed up at
<v Speaker 1>call time like they definitely had time to.
<v Speaker 3>Put the locker Room's got to be tiny back there, right,
<v Speaker 3>I assume.
<v Speaker 1>A huge space. No, Joey says a mister Angle. I
<v Speaker 1>know you follow progressing somewhat. Yeah, okay, uh, I know
<v Speaker 1>you've got to be impressed with the amateur and pro
<v Speaker 1>credentials of this man. And he fucking points to the
<v Speaker 1>aisleway and war machine hits and the crowd starts coming alive.
<v Speaker 1>I said, Wow, this is awesome. Taz comes out with
<v Speaker 1>Team Taz. They got their goddamn orange rain jackets. I
<v Speaker 1>don't jump. It looked like they look bigger. I said, Okay,
<v Speaker 1>Bill Alfonso's here. He's annoying as ship as usual.
<v Speaker 2>Well, I mean, the funny thing here is that he
<v Speaker 2>says that you gotta be impressed by the credentials of
<v Speaker 2>this man. War machine hits. Bonzi comes out.
<v Speaker 1>Get this belligerate man out of here.
<v Speaker 6>Hey, daddy, I got some crack for you right now,
<v Speaker 6>let's go down.
<v Speaker 1>Hey dad, we'll go back to hell and.
<v Speaker 2>No, no, no, I don't.
<v Speaker 6>That's the right daddy boll crack for us.
<v Speaker 1>So that's comes out by the way, I mean, let's
<v Speaker 1>not the fucking team tax presentation is awesome.
<v Speaker 3>Fucking ship every big ass flag, all wear an orange
<v Speaker 3>Tazi kicks ass.
<v Speaker 4>It's awesome.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean this is this is cool as fuck,
<v Speaker 1>super ahead of its time. I have to say, right like,
<v Speaker 1>no one else had a presentation like this.
<v Speaker 2>No, no, especially on promotion. That's you know where it's
<v Speaker 2>at right now. This is like pretty forward thinking for sure.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's awesome. Uh. The crowd is chanting Sabo at Taz,
<v Speaker 1>which I also thought was fucking cool as fuck that
<v Speaker 1>they were so like wanting to see this feud that
<v Speaker 1>they were in a year. Dude's name, Yeah, man, so
<v Speaker 1>it's it's been a year because Sabo like got fired, right,
<v Speaker 1>that's why.
<v Speaker 2>Because he took the dates.
<v Speaker 1>He took the Japan book again. I think he just
<v Speaker 1>came back.
<v Speaker 2>Went the ring and said, you son of a bed.
<v Speaker 1>Dude. They aired his ass out. He took a Japan
<v Speaker 1>booking and he fucking got lit up by the top
<v Speaker 1>guy in the promoter and you know what, that's not
<v Speaker 1>a bad idea. That was awesome though.
<v Speaker 3>He's like, he decided to take morebody elsewhere instead of
<v Speaker 3>wrestled for you fans. Fuck this guy, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Fuck, And then he comes back. Goodness, it's awesome. The
<v Speaker 1>task gets on the mic and shut the music. That's
<v Speaker 1>not thankfully the franchises all this.
<v Speaker 2>Show, shut the music, and well, well, well just double
<v Speaker 2>gimmick in fridgement.
<v Speaker 1>He's just stealing everything. Tas looks at Kurt. He says,
<v Speaker 1>I want to I want to strike your head gets
<v Speaker 1>right up bottom. I tell you what, Kurt Angle, I
<v Speaker 1>got a lot of respect for you. You are definitely
<v Speaker 1>one of the greatest average wrestlers to ever lace them up.
<v Speaker 1>I spent a great deal of my summer watching you
<v Speaker 1>compete the games. Let's fucking die. Helped the ratings there
<v Speaker 1>at the games, you.
<v Speaker 2>Know X games.
<v Speaker 1>But you know, I spent all my summer watching myself
<v Speaker 1>on TV. I guess Taz was in New York. They
<v Speaker 1>did have easy to be locallees. That's fucking good.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, this is the most Taz I can't like.
<v Speaker 2>Whenever I see Taz talk now, like in ninety six,
<v Speaker 2>And I've heard him on commentary for so long at
<v Speaker 2>this point, I can only hear his commentary voice. So
<v Speaker 2>it's weird. Right. So he spent the summer watching herd
<v Speaker 2>of the Games, but he spent more time watching TV
<v Speaker 2>with himself on it.
<v Speaker 1>But I digress, you.
<v Speaker 2>Know, that's all I can think about, was him.
<v Speaker 1>I know he wanted to say, But I digress says
<v Speaker 1>there was a time that even contemplated competing for the
<v Speaker 1>wrestling team of the United States. But you know what,
<v Speaker 1>I'd rather make money. All right, we listen. Don't pretend
<v Speaker 1>that this crowd doesn't know the money situation.
<v Speaker 2>Everything or anytime. Hey, everything's fine. Wait, you guys get paid,
<v Speaker 2>all right? Someone taula me the word back to the
<v Speaker 2>locker room, please and put him back across.
<v Speaker 1>What did you say?
<v Speaker 2>I meant, get him, get him some crack I don't know,
<v Speaker 2>get him out of here.
<v Speaker 1>Come put cross.
<v Speaker 6>I had no idea about this, I swear I never do.
<v Speaker 1>He's got a hammer in his hand. I don't know,
<v Speaker 1>he's got sawdust all over, he said. I have no idea.
<v Speaker 1>It's just the nature of the biziness across.
<v Speaker 3>I was putting the ring together, scaffold, need these nails,
<v Speaker 3>and there's farm wire to put around his head, I
<v Speaker 3>mean under the ring.
<v Speaker 1>That says it closing court angle. I'm very happy you're
<v Speaker 1>here tonight, So I want you to sit up there
<v Speaker 1>with Joey Styles and competent on my match and toll
<v Speaker 1>the world what kind of great pro wrestler Taz is congratulations,
<v Speaker 1>you're a great amateur, but I'm a great professional. That's
<v Speaker 1>a So that was a good line. That was a
<v Speaker 1>good line, And like I always thought it was fucking cool.
<v Speaker 1>Obviously I don't this obviously wasn't meant to happen this way,
<v Speaker 1>but the fact that like they had this confrontation here
<v Speaker 1>and then Tazz is WWF debut is against this dude
<v Speaker 1>is like pretty cool. Cool.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it felt like the world of wrestling was connected.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, like it happened in New York. So like
<v Speaker 1>the crowd fucking was gaed up for Taz and all.
<v Speaker 1>That's fucking pretty cool. But Kurt here is like I
<v Speaker 1>can't explain how young this guy looks. Like this is
<v Speaker 1>a whole different human. He even sounds way different, Like
<v Speaker 1>his voice is not the same voice that you when
<v Speaker 1>you think of Kurt Angle. This is not how he sounds.
<v Speaker 2>This is a man who has yet to see the Crucifixion.
<v Speaker 2>I'm the same man.
<v Speaker 1>Ball's dropped after a man.
<v Speaker 2>Took all his hair off.
<v Speaker 7>So fast. He watch he watched Raven walk out.
<v Speaker 1>They called himself Scott Levy.
<v Speaker 7>He said, great, I thought it was Raven.
<v Speaker 1>He was morp pissed for him. You know this crack.
<v Speaker 1>So the match we have here is Taz versus Little Guido.
<v Speaker 1>Shoot fight. And I said, sho fight.
<v Speaker 2>That's right.
<v Speaker 1>By shoe fight is by east of these rules. You
<v Speaker 1>either win by submission or knockout. I was like, oh fuck,
<v Speaker 1>I don't know. I assume they were doing a good
<v Speaker 1>amount of these for Taz around the time.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. Probably, Yeah, that's probably his match, right, Yeah, that's right.
<v Speaker 2>And Kurt Angle, I assume has never seen wrestling. He says, yeas,
<v Speaker 2>I doubt it, dude, So he's probably like, what wrestling's
<v Speaker 2>like this all the time?
<v Speaker 1>Wow, there's why does any dude? He was you're telling
<v Speaker 1>me you Hayway champion wrestles. Well, it's a different guy
<v Speaker 1>to shoot fight. But yes, he's shooting all right.
<v Speaker 2>Up. He bought got Zilla one time or whatever.
<v Speaker 1>He uh, Kurt like is so Kurt is calling this
<v Speaker 1>like a shoot, like he didn't they didn't like give
<v Speaker 1>him the egging about anything. They m up, No, he's
<v Speaker 1>confused about everything. He's like burying a man.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. So Kurt Angle's on commentary with Joey Styles here
<v Speaker 2>and there's a yeah, and they have a little picture
<v Speaker 2>in a lower third that says commentary by US gold
<v Speaker 2>medalist Kurt Angle on the screen. It stays on the
<v Speaker 2>screen too. I imagine that people in the area, you know,
<v Speaker 2>this is probably a big deal, you know, like especially
<v Speaker 2>because back then, I feel like the Olympics were a
<v Speaker 2>much bigger deal. I'm not saying they're not a big deal,
<v Speaker 2>but I feel like the general consensus for the Olympics
<v Speaker 2>was a lot bigger in a world where everything was
<v Speaker 2>a little more centralized back then. Right, there's like four
<v Speaker 2>fucking things going on in the world at one time, right,
<v Speaker 2>Like you watch the Simpsons, when you watch the Olympics,
<v Speaker 2>you know, it's like, all right, which one are we
<v Speaker 2>watching today?
<v Speaker 1>Shit? Actually, you're right.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, I imagine this got them some good press,
<v Speaker 2>for sure, especially probably in the Philly area, which is
<v Speaker 2>where they wanted it the most, so.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, Kurt was from Pa so like that. You know,
<v Speaker 1>probably is there too. So Kurt is totally confused by
<v Speaker 1>the rules.
<v Speaker 2>He said, what are the rules in this wrestling?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah? I understand in this wrestling it's either choke out
<v Speaker 1>or knockout or submission. I wasn't sure.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, So Guido and Taz are grappling to start here.
<v Speaker 2>Guido escalates it with some kicks to the chest. Taz
<v Speaker 2>grabs a freestyle bow and arrow and puts it in
<v Speaker 2>on Guido here and Kurt I love.
<v Speaker 1>That, dude. That was pretty awesome, and he like he again,
<v Speaker 1>he's asking a ton of questions here. Kurt says, Okay,
<v Speaker 1>what happens if they get in a stalemate? And I
<v Speaker 1>think Taz had like Guido in like a knee bar
<v Speaker 1>or something, and he Guido grabbed the ropes and he says, oh, okay,
<v Speaker 1>he can just hold onto the ring, that's.
<v Speaker 2>Right, and it breaks. It's like going out of the
<v Speaker 2>square in a wrestling match or whatever. Freestyle bow and
<v Speaker 2>arrow just look like a twist or Also, that shit
<v Speaker 2>looked awesome.
<v Speaker 1>It was fucking cool. Soone should do that.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I mean, it's wake cooler than the other bow
<v Speaker 2>and arrow like to the knees versions.
<v Speaker 1>This is coler than that.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe this just hurts like shit for real, dude, it's
<v Speaker 2>probably a real submission that he really hadn't he's just
<v Speaker 2>begging for help, So.
<v Speaker 1>Not gonna fucking argue it against He's taking this.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, task makes all the T shirts. If you want
<v Speaker 2>another one, then you better stay in this hole.
<v Speaker 3>That's he says that to him. He says that to him,
<v Speaker 3>you want to t you better stay this whole.
<v Speaker 1>You fuck up my mess and now you're not getting
<v Speaker 1>a DC.
<v Speaker 2>So Tas clotheslines him and does the sad boot tante
<v Speaker 2>and Kurt says, what the hell is that?
<v Speaker 1>So confused? Kurt says, why does it he go for
<v Speaker 1>the kill? Why does he turning his back? And Joey
<v Speaker 1>has to explain the angle, like, oh, he's mocking Sabo,
<v Speaker 1>who he hates.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that Joy was like, oh yeah, that's some that's
<v Speaker 2>Saboo's time. Boo's not here. Kerdengo has never heard of
<v Speaker 2>a man named Saboo. He poists to the sky. Okay,
<v Speaker 2>why all right, I worry about it. He explains that
<v Speaker 2>he draws power from the sky he or something alone.
<v Speaker 1>I try.
<v Speaker 5>So.
<v Speaker 1>Uh.
<v Speaker 2>Anyways, we go back to the batch of Taz German
<v Speaker 2>suplexes Guido and they had they'd had this camera shot
<v Speaker 2>here in this match that's sitting behind Phonsie as Taz
<v Speaker 2>is letting guidos sell in the ring here and Phonsie
<v Speaker 2>is going ape ship. This is a very awesome shot,
<v Speaker 2>by the way.
<v Speaker 1>It is cool as fuck. I for the life of
<v Speaker 1>me could not figure out a signal worth that he said,
<v Speaker 1>though I tried for you.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, it wasn't the human language, but it was awesome.
<v Speaker 2>I thought the shot was cool, and it got across
<v Speaker 2>that Phonsie is a maniac and Taz likes to stalk
<v Speaker 2>his prey.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah it's cool.
<v Speaker 2>Uh So Phonsie is pointing a Taz and blowing the whistle.
<v Speaker 2>Tazz then hits two task plexes and locks in the
<v Speaker 2>Kata to win the match.
<v Speaker 1>I mean he's popping off all kinds. Every kind of
<v Speaker 1>plex that he does is just a tak a wheelbarrow
<v Speaker 1>dazz plex. That's a goddamn t bone tz that s
<v Speaker 1>It's awesome And Yeah, multiple times during the match, Kurt saying,
<v Speaker 1>can I ask why Taz isn't going for the gill.
<v Speaker 1>Why is he waiting? Is he not allowed? And Joey
<v Speaker 1>says he knows he's got the match one he's allowed.
<v Speaker 1>He's trying to like emphasize that he's a killer. Joey
<v Speaker 1>should just press the mute button.
<v Speaker 2>On the mic and been like he's selling. It's called
<v Speaker 2>selling and wrestling. He has to fucking sell. This guy
<v Speaker 2>has to at least look good. And it comes on
<v Speaker 2>the match.
<v Speaker 1>Have you ever seen wrestling? Buddy? He rating Olympic Gold?
<v Speaker 2>Don't you understand this guy was in the u w F.
<v Speaker 2>I mean nothing to you, fake you idiots. Task makes
<v Speaker 2>his shirts, you know, taboo is or not?
<v Speaker 1>They are loading across into the ring as you speak,
<v Speaker 1>you dumb ass. So yeah, Tas wins the cattage and
<v Speaker 1>Kurt says, that's a judo choke. Isn't it everything that
<v Speaker 1>Taz or Kurt knew this match was either a plex
<v Speaker 1>or a judo something. That's all. He's just trying his best.
<v Speaker 1>I guess I like that.
<v Speaker 2>I like that Kurt's like not smartened up to the biz,
<v Speaker 2>so like he's trying to figure it out. Maybe it
<v Speaker 2>would have made for a good gimmick. I think of
<v Speaker 2>him like figuring out wrestling as it goes along. But sadly,
<v Speaker 2>the worst thing that's ever happened that ECW arena is
<v Speaker 2>about to happen. Here at about forty five min.
<v Speaker 1>We're just saying a lot. I mean, it's gotta be
<v Speaker 1>saying a ton.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, Taz grabs a microphone after the match and
<v Speaker 2>he calls out Kurt and you guys, you got to
<v Speaker 2>agree that's a goldmel performance. And then Taz talks about
<v Speaker 2>his feud.
<v Speaker 1>I'm talking.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, he gets angry at the crowd. They've been chatting
<v Speaker 2>so and he's like, you guys want to hear me
<v Speaker 2>talk about Saboo or not. You've been talking about Saboo.
<v Speaker 1>For a year? Do one whole year? He went to Japan,
<v Speaker 1>fucking pussy.
<v Speaker 2>So Taz calls Sabuo a piece of shit and he
<v Speaker 2>calls him out as he goes to commercial.
<v Speaker 1>And then we go to a Saboo T shirt commercial
<v Speaker 1>that Tas made. Made it.
<v Speaker 2>He's been fitting with him for a year. I guess
<v Speaker 2>things are good now, So yeah, that's nice. I can
<v Speaker 2>imagine this next thing making a lot of money. The
<v Speaker 2>ECW Hardcore Hotline the.
<v Speaker 1>New ECW Hardcore Hotline where you can hear inside wrestling news,
<v Speaker 1>extreme interviews, get results from the last esib Arena show,
<v Speaker 1>play wrestling trivia for a chance to win a free prize,
<v Speaker 1>and you must be eighteen to make this call. One
<v Speaker 1>dollar ninety nine cent per minute.
<v Speaker 2>Hey it's me daddy, dude, Yeah, I mean one ninety minute.
<v Speaker 2>And they were doing entire interviews over the phone.
<v Speaker 1>Because I think from Rise and Fall they said like
<v Speaker 1>it was like Stevie and like Bubba and them dudes
<v Speaker 1>like taking their calls right, Like they just had like
<v Speaker 1>k fame names, names from their cave fame names.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that's pretty interesting. This whole like hotline ripoff stuff
<v Speaker 2>was pretty prevalent back then.
<v Speaker 1>Dude.
<v Speaker 2>It must have made an entire living off of just hotline.
<v Speaker 1>Oh my god, the amount of money he must have
<v Speaker 1>made off that ship. Like I think that was in
<v Speaker 1>his contracts too, write like they probably didn't have to
<v Speaker 1>pay as much because he would make fucking so much
<v Speaker 1>money off the hotline if they let him talk about
<v Speaker 1>it on TV.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah right, yeah, that's it. Well, it's it's like it's a.
<v Speaker 3>Thing where you call like if I picked up my
<v Speaker 3>parents' phone and called it one nine hundred number. It
<v Speaker 3>would just come down their bill later. So like, I
<v Speaker 3>wouldn't even care, you know, I'm just talking to and
<v Speaker 3>listen to every Fonsie I'm calling whatever he's talking about.
<v Speaker 1>And then two months later you're grounded because you called
<v Speaker 1>the ECW hotline. Who is the e CW Champion? Is
<v Speaker 1>it the Sandman? All right? So back to the show.
<v Speaker 1>Here's one on nine a minute pas one right saying
<v Speaker 1>it the show was, The show wasn't as good. The
<v Speaker 1>Taz match was awesome. It Taz one.
<v Speaker 2>Best match of the night. Tas So Joey puts over
<v Speaker 2>Kurt Angle again and says that him coming to e
<v Speaker 2>c W means something because he turned down w c W.
<v Speaker 1>And w w F to be here and we feel
<v Speaker 1>very bad for what is the cup? Sorry, sorry about
<v Speaker 1>the ending of this show. You know, Kurt, We love you, Kurt,
<v Speaker 1>Thank you, Kurt.
<v Speaker 2>So Shane Douglas with Francine takes on Tony Michaels.
<v Speaker 1>Is it not? Is it Tony or Cody? Oh my god,
<v Speaker 1>is it Cody? It's Cody Michaels.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, you know, shots brothers more.
<v Speaker 1>Tody Michaels and awesome.
<v Speaker 4>Do you know anything about Cody Michaels. Do you want
<v Speaker 4>to know anything about this?
<v Speaker 1>I don't know anything.
<v Speaker 3>Well, he after pro wrestling, he continued his involvement and
<v Speaker 3>he was an associate producer, booker, writer, and creative team
<v Speaker 3>member in Wrestling Society X really.
<v Speaker 2>Oh nice, I mean whatever, I'm calling him Tony Michaels
<v Speaker 2>for this segment. Write down, Donny. There's too many down here,
<v Speaker 2>you understand.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>So once he retired, he did that, and then he
<v Speaker 3>did Ultimate Cage Fight Championships mm A live events, uh,
<v Speaker 3>Rumble on the Rivers in two thousand and nine, and
<v Speaker 3>then produce some XPW DVD national releases or something.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, that must have been either the compilation or that
<v Speaker 1>was uh because they came back for a show and
<v Speaker 1>it was fucking oh, I can't remember. Big Vision Entertainment. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>he was part of that, I think. Yeah, dude, Big
<v Speaker 1>Vision was cool for a minute because like they had
<v Speaker 1>like a they like partnered with a bunch of indies
<v Speaker 1>and stuff, and we're making compilations and like they're making compilations.
<v Speaker 1>They were making compilations. Dude, I say that word like
<v Speaker 1>that now because of you, like compilations.
<v Speaker 3>No, I do remember that they were in like the
<v Speaker 3>video stores you could buy the couple compil.
<v Speaker 8>Like yeahm file relations they got in, but they were
<v Speaker 8>like yeah, they were like store like you can find
<v Speaker 8>them in like f y and ship.
<v Speaker 1>But they had like a monthly subscription that I was
<v Speaker 1>signed up for and they would send you DVDs And
<v Speaker 1>there was a fucking time. Wow, I completely forgot about this.
<v Speaker 1>So they were definitely like behind on sending me DVDs
<v Speaker 1>for like a good four months. And my mom was
<v Speaker 1>like what the fuck. So she like hit them up
<v Speaker 1>and was complaining and I swear they sent me like
<v Speaker 1>fifteen DVDs to make it.
<v Speaker 2>It was awesome.
<v Speaker 1>Up and then they went out of business the next month.
<v Speaker 1>So that is your fault. Give my shit. What the fuck?
<v Speaker 2>So Shane Douglas takes on Cody Michaels and uh, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>that's right, shut up on your smart mark.
<v Speaker 1>Shane Douglas is so Shane Douglas here, which is like
<v Speaker 1>you know what you want right, Like he still got
<v Speaker 1>the confidence of Shane Douglass and still has the steeze
<v Speaker 1>to like have Creid to talk this kind of shit
<v Speaker 1>which goes away are soon when he goes to WCW,
<v Speaker 1>because then he's just a bitch.
<v Speaker 2>Well, he's the ECW TV champion.
<v Speaker 1>Here he is the TV champion. Joel Gertner joins commentary.
<v Speaker 1>This is Joel Gertner before he's like pervert. Joel talks
<v Speaker 1>about Kurt Angle. He says the Kurd Angle and him
<v Speaker 1>have a mutual friend, a former wrestling coach. And seeing
<v Speaker 1>as Joey's inviting color commentators come out here Joey, and
<v Speaker 1>then Joey says, no, no, no, I I don't fucking
<v Speaker 1>want to work with you, and Joel says, you didn't
<v Speaker 1>take this attitude of Kurt, and Joey says kerd Angle
<v Speaker 1>is a gold medal and Joel gert says, I have
<v Speaker 1>an Atlanta nineteen ninety six gold Master card and I
<v Speaker 1>trust fun. So Shane uh says, take a look at
<v Speaker 1>that man who broke the neck of a man who
<v Speaker 1>said his neck couldn't be broken. He's talking about him
<v Speaker 1>breaking a pit bull number one, Gary Wolf's neck.
<v Speaker 2>Everyone's neck has been broken in ECW. He could have
<v Speaker 2>been talking about anybody. Dude.
<v Speaker 1>I definitely thought he was talking about like Saboo for
<v Speaker 1>a second, and then He looks at the crowd and says,
<v Speaker 1>shot the fuck up.
<v Speaker 2>Everyone says that every segment Shut the fuck up.
<v Speaker 1>That's how you get heal heat here is he's shot
<v Speaker 1>the fuck up. We have a great wrestler here tonight,
<v Speaker 1>and he's gonna make a damn sure that everyone knows
<v Speaker 1>what kind of wrestler I am, what kind of wrestler
<v Speaker 1>Taz is, and you will all get a wrestle lesson
<v Speaker 1>tonight because you don't deserve to see a champion like me.
<v Speaker 1>I thought, for real, he was gonna say, this is
<v Speaker 1>a job guy here to make me look good at
<v Speaker 1>a squash batch like I thought the next one.
<v Speaker 2>Give him a few more seconds than he was saying
<v Speaker 2>that for sure, that's true.
<v Speaker 1>You look, you work for Big Vision Entertainment. You I
<v Speaker 1>wouldn't be the first xb W champion. You want to
<v Speaker 1>go there? That was the first m W champions.
<v Speaker 2>Don't let anyone tell you what he did.
<v Speaker 1>Look right. So he tells Cody Michaels that these people
<v Speaker 1>could get behind you all they want, but they can
<v Speaker 1>all guess my ass, and you got a snowballs chance
<v Speaker 1>in hell to turn around and look at them and
<v Speaker 1>say fuckd.
<v Speaker 2>Shane Douglas is in great shape here. I mean he
<v Speaker 2>looks fantastic.
<v Speaker 1>This is triple age. Yes, this is triple Age. And Stephanie,
<v Speaker 1>this is ridiculous man. Yeah, so ringing out some gets
<v Speaker 1>back into the introductions. Of course, the crowd is now
<v Speaker 1>chanting such things at fran Sceine, like she's a whore
<v Speaker 1>and she's got herpies. All she's done is just been
<v Speaker 1>out here, is yo?
<v Speaker 2>Okay? I was trying to make out the chance.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I was hoping you wrote down what you thought
<v Speaker 1>they were.
<v Speaker 2>Oh no, I didn't even have any thoughts.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, like I just couldn't hear it. It sounded like a
<v Speaker 1>she's a whrror and she's got her pies. Of course.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, Well France scene leaves and she tells the franchise
<v Speaker 2>to leave too. She's pissed off at the Chance, of course,
<v Speaker 2>and now they're channing fuck you. Pittboll number two tries
<v Speaker 2>to rush the ring here, but he's held back by security,
<v Speaker 2>refs and some of.
<v Speaker 1>The boys and Carrot Top. Yeah that was.
<v Speaker 2>That guy.
<v Speaker 4>Anybody like that by life.
<v Speaker 1>So if you remember that Carrot Top guy is the
<v Speaker 1>guy that was in the front row when Brian Pillman
<v Speaker 1>debuts and he takes a swing of Pillman and Pilman
<v Speaker 1>dumps him over their guardrail. Oh nice, I thought that
<v Speaker 1>was that is a different guy that was anyway, shape
<v Speaker 1>or form. So I'll still look like carrot top at
<v Speaker 1>this point.
<v Speaker 4>That's pretty bay.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, you know how yeah, you know that goes. So
<v Speaker 2>we go to.
<v Speaker 6>We got a commercial.
<v Speaker 2>And it says that franchise will defend this title when
<v Speaker 2>we come back.
<v Speaker 1>That's cool. I had like the text that said that.
<v Speaker 1>That was cute.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, So we get a Raven T shirt commercial where
<v Speaker 2>all of Raven's favorite quotes come up.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and they don't say a price. They just say
<v Speaker 1>it's available now and they give you a phone number.
<v Speaker 1>This is a scam.
<v Speaker 3>Is also a scam because it's other people's quotes, and
<v Speaker 3>then it says quote the Raven at the end.
<v Speaker 4>So I'm confused.
<v Speaker 1>Shakespeare and shit Edgar.
<v Speaker 4>I'm so confused.
<v Speaker 1>There's quite there from.
<v Speaker 2>There's a quote there from Scott Leaving that said, sorry
<v Speaker 2>about the ending game on this show.
<v Speaker 1>In the next twenty minutes. I apologize. I can't say
<v Speaker 1>sorry enough.
<v Speaker 2>So they come back in the middle of the match
<v Speaker 2>where Cody Michaels. Yes, right, Cody Michaels. Where Cody Michaels
<v Speaker 2>is actually in control, which is nuts, Yeah, franchised. Then
<v Speaker 2>rakes his eyes it Tony Michaels. Cody Michaels, God, damn it,
<v Speaker 2>I'm sorry his name is Tony in these notes, Cody
<v Speaker 2>Michael send him to the outside.
<v Speaker 1>That's why I've written down here. Joey Styles is fucking
<v Speaker 1>fired up. He says, Cody Michael's gonna go to fucking
<v Speaker 1>win and he smells it upset.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, So then Cody Michaels, yes, not to be confused
<v Speaker 2>with his brother, Tony Michael. Michael, Michael, Michael's shame, Shane Michaels.
<v Speaker 2>All right, So alright, so Coddy Michaels with a chair
<v Speaker 2>on the outside, right, Cody Michaels with the chair on
<v Speaker 2>the outside, and he runs and hits the franchise with it.
<v Speaker 1>That's allowed.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that's not only allowed, but it's encouraged.
<v Speaker 1>Michael's on fucking fire here, bro.
<v Speaker 2>Dude, he looks great, he's doing well. Cody Michaels sits
<v Speaker 2>the franchise in a chair and then hits a cross
<v Speaker 2>body to him in the chair.
<v Speaker 1>That was awesome off the apron. Yeah, Like I swore
<v Speaker 1>that was gonna be flip bump onto the chair because
<v Speaker 1>that's what happens usually.
<v Speaker 2>Now, Yeah, that's a fantastic spot, Like that's that's awesome, dude.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, you see dup chant. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>So he rolls them in and it's a two franchise.
<v Speaker 2>Then hit the standing divorce court and a tombstone pile driver.
<v Speaker 1>Dude, not only does he do a tombstone, but he
<v Speaker 1>scoops him up in tombstone position and then unless I'm
<v Speaker 1>you know, just was making things up here, I swear
<v Speaker 1>he fucked him in the face and the tombstone it
<v Speaker 1>was like if road Dog did this move.
<v Speaker 6>What happened?
<v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, I mean I thought maybe he was, you know,
<v Speaker 2>just trying to get him in a position so he
<v Speaker 2>didn't kill him.
<v Speaker 1>But yeah, maybe you're right, but it looked to me
<v Speaker 1>like he fucked him in the face.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I mean I can see that the he seen
<v Speaker 2>enough face And so the ref goes to stop the match,
<v Speaker 2>but France scene steps in front of the ref and
<v Speaker 2>says no.
<v Speaker 1>So then the reft just Shane is going for the pan.
<v Speaker 2>Of course, the ref that just says ah, fuck it
<v Speaker 2>all right, whatever, just keep going, you're right, I don't mean,
<v Speaker 2>just try to end the match, my bad so franchise
<v Speaker 2>then dead lifts him up, uh, screams fuck you with
<v Speaker 2>the crowd, and then it hits the belly to belly
<v Speaker 2>to win.
<v Speaker 1>That's that's awesome, and he yells fuck you, and Joey says,
<v Speaker 1>I don't think he said I love you.
<v Speaker 2>So franc scene then tells the franchise to come back
<v Speaker 2>in and wow, do something. What was she signaling for?
<v Speaker 2>Break his neck? Maybe?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I think that's right. Break because he's breaking people's necks.
<v Speaker 2>It looks like she was like, stab him, stab him
<v Speaker 2>in the neck.
<v Speaker 1>I was like.
<v Speaker 2>That he comes in his steps, Cody Michael's in the neck.
<v Speaker 1>That's getting fucking fridge. So if you could think of
<v Speaker 1>all the ways in wrestling that you could break somebody's neck,
<v Speaker 1>I want you all to like think about what that is.
<v Speaker 1>There's a lot of them, because there's been, you know,
<v Speaker 1>a lot of moves over the years.
<v Speaker 3>That do just a neck breaker.
<v Speaker 1>Neck breaker, maybe a pile driver, maybe pile driver to
<v Speaker 1>stone without theatrics fuck his face. Uh, you know, there's
<v Speaker 1>a lot. What you said, Jar buss buster. Yeah you could,
<v Speaker 1>like there's a lot of them, but no driver. Oh yeah,
<v Speaker 1>ohen driver, that's true, a lot of I mean, like
<v Speaker 1>there's a lot of them, James, what one does Shane
<v Speaker 1>Douglas try to break Cody Michael's neck.
<v Speaker 2>With the hurt lock.
<v Speaker 1>Swinging her lock like I was, I was, I mean
<v Speaker 1>maybe nineteen ninety six. This was like over so like,
<v Speaker 1>are okay, but like to me, this looked fucking ridiculous.
<v Speaker 1>This looks you guys have been a full dust and
<v Speaker 1>he's swinging him around in the air, his legs are dangling.
<v Speaker 1>Oh he's gonna break his fucking neck.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, So, I mean this whole thing is pretty ridiculous
<v Speaker 2>because Pip number two decided that he has to look
<v Speaker 2>really really good tonight. So Bibbold Pitmo number two comes
<v Speaker 2>out and franchise powders as everyone tries to come out
<v Speaker 2>and stop this dude again. Yes, the franchise comes back
<v Speaker 2>in with a chair and tries to hit him with
<v Speaker 2>a chair in the head, but pit Bull just nos
<v Speaker 2>sells it.
<v Speaker 1>He no sells it crazy and he fires up, which
<v Speaker 1>of course leads to Shane running away.
<v Speaker 2>A Looney Tunes esque chase ensues.
<v Speaker 1>Around the ring until the greatest way to put it,
<v Speaker 1>because it is like, I don't know if they meant
<v Speaker 1>for it to be funny. I imagine it was not
<v Speaker 1>meant to be funny because this is an angle about
<v Speaker 1>this dude. Shane dug is breaking this guy's partner's neck.
<v Speaker 1>But the ridiculous manner that Fibble chases and the length
<v Speaker 1>of time that he chases them is out rating.
<v Speaker 3>Shane Douglass is taking like a brisk jog. He's not
<v Speaker 3>even running, He's like bare.
<v Speaker 2>Well, there's so much shit around the ring and so
<v Speaker 2>many people. There's four dudes, there's fucking all the announcers
<v Speaker 2>and ringside guys and tables and Rossier throwing her cameras cross.
<v Speaker 2>I'm going to put that back there real quick. Hurts.
<v Speaker 1>I'm sorry.
<v Speaker 3>He's jumping over the cross to get the ring and
<v Speaker 3>tried to get out of here, asking what's going on?
<v Speaker 2>Is that a real mood?
<v Speaker 1>Is this a shooter or work?
<v Speaker 4>I'm not sure he's happening to you.
<v Speaker 1>Does he really break his neck with.
<v Speaker 2>So Pitbo chases him around the ring until the franchise Tony,
<v Speaker 2>you put it great. By the way, he's briskly jogging
<v Speaker 2>around the ring, and when he gets back in the ring,
<v Speaker 2>he's still briskly jogging, and then it's fran scene and
<v Speaker 2>it knocks her down.
<v Speaker 3>And this is the most ridiculous web I've ever seen
<v Speaker 3>anyone dogging.
<v Speaker 1>He went over.
<v Speaker 6>He just not even closer.
<v Speaker 3>He totally shoulder checks and she flies on the guy
<v Speaker 3>like she's done. He's not even close to her, and
<v Speaker 3>then he just takes a b light over her and
<v Speaker 3>knocks her over.
<v Speaker 6>It's so funny.
<v Speaker 1>Brice Jong makes me think, like now picture Ship was
<v Speaker 1>doing the Santino, I was.
<v Speaker 2>Thinking like very exaggerated shoulders, That's what I was thinking.
<v Speaker 3>He's doing a Brice Jong knocks over fans seat like
<v Speaker 3>crazy son of a gun.
<v Speaker 2>She gets nhilated. He just so checks her. Fancy's been
<v Speaker 2>bow driven and fucking dude with a super bomb.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, somebody get hit with a car.
<v Speaker 2>Gtam waists first face first on the ground. Tony Ship. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>So he briskly walks through the ring and then sh
<v Speaker 2>ships friend.
<v Speaker 1>She was on one help she was on one hp,
<v Speaker 1>and you think that would lead to maybe someone being
<v Speaker 1>upset about this or franchise.
<v Speaker 2>Franchise knocks her down and then gets out of the ring.
<v Speaker 2>And then Pipple looks at her and he goes to
<v Speaker 2>pick her up.
<v Speaker 1>And then all the boys grab him. He fucking goes.
<v Speaker 1>He looks at her leg on the ground and he
<v Speaker 1>starts beating his chest. He picks her up, as James said,
<v Speaker 1>then all the boys fucking grab pull him off of her.
<v Speaker 1>Then Shane Doug so.
<v Speaker 2>I just want to let you know, I thought the
<v Speaker 2>segment was over. I was like, okay, Pitple goes to
<v Speaker 2>pick her up, but the boys grab him.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, and when Shane will obviously drag her out and
<v Speaker 1>we're out of here right right. But no, no, Shane
<v Speaker 1>Douglas is now back in the ring. The boys, including
<v Speaker 1>carrat top, are the holding two Piple number two and
<v Speaker 1>Shane Douglas hit leaps over the guys hits him in
<v Speaker 1>the head with the television title which Piple number two
<v Speaker 1>once again, no cellside. Oh my god, this felt like
<v Speaker 1>this felt like this.
<v Speaker 2>Was not what they were supposed to do.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and they're just going for it. Yeah, we filmed it.
<v Speaker 1>We can't cut around this. We have to get this
<v Speaker 1>shit in here. So he noticells the title shot. He
<v Speaker 1>goes after Shane again. Uh, he's bumping everybody in the
<v Speaker 1>fucking ring again. And then is there a commercial here
<v Speaker 1>or is it just like it goes to this, Joel Girtner.
<v Speaker 2>Pot, no, dude, so franchise powders. And then the pit
<v Speaker 2>bull is walking around the ring pushing guys. They all
<v Speaker 2>get out of the ring, and then Joel Gertner slides
<v Speaker 2>in the ring with a sports jacket and no.
<v Speaker 1>Shit, Joey Styles says, what is this hemorrhoid doing in
<v Speaker 1>the ring?
<v Speaker 2>She was just on commentary. So he got down from
<v Speaker 2>the eagle's nest and just ran over here. I have
<v Speaker 2>to announce the finish of the match.
<v Speaker 1>He's trying to prove his worth here and he's he
<v Speaker 1>dub He's gonna come down here and let it know
<v Speaker 1>so that the crowd channing fuck him up. And Joe
<v Speaker 1>Gertner says, ladies and gentlemen, the official time of the fall.
<v Speaker 1>And Pitpole's looking at this dude like, what the fuck?
<v Speaker 1>I just no sold everything? What can I do? And
<v Speaker 1>he walks up to Joel Gurtner and Joel says, excuse me,
<v Speaker 1>you're in my camera shot and he bunches him away.
<v Speaker 2>That is nuts. You just watched the guy no sell
<v Speaker 2>forty to the head with.
<v Speaker 1>A title shot in all and John Joel Gertner says
<v Speaker 1>the top of the fall, not even enough time for
<v Speaker 1>me to get my dress, shoes on your winner and
<v Speaker 1>still e c w oh shit.
<v Speaker 2>Pitbull then grabs it, takes him over to the ropes
<v Speaker 2>and then fall Away slams them over the ropes on
<v Speaker 2>all the boys on the outside.
<v Speaker 1>The fuck and then he gets his music and he celebrates.
<v Speaker 2>So November to remember nineteen ninety five, that was last year,
<v Speaker 2>Remember that it was now.
<v Speaker 1>Get it on home video that sad his return to
<v Speaker 1>the arena. See him take on the shaw he's reintroducing
<v Speaker 1>him to hardcore bro. Also check out the Sandman and
<v Speaker 1>two Cold Scorpios battle with the Public Enemy and the
<v Speaker 1>shot the show is saman dancing.
<v Speaker 2>Going nuts fortnit emoting that's me when I get a
<v Speaker 2>number one victory Royale.
<v Speaker 1>Do you remember Sandman's spirit on Twitter where he was
<v Speaker 1>constantly winning.
<v Speaker 2>For It's a good era.
<v Speaker 1>Taz is shocking betrayal of Todd Gordon on this show
<v Speaker 1>and the unedited, uncensored all out war between Raven and
<v Speaker 1>Cactus Jack as they collided with Tommy Dreamer and Terry Funk,
<v Speaker 1>and then we get another recap of November to remember
<v Speaker 1>from last year again.
<v Speaker 2>I'm not sure why Hype Central. So Joel isn't there
<v Speaker 2>because he just got his ass kicked. So it runs
<v Speaker 2>down the shows again, and then it has a screen
<v Speaker 2>at the end of year that says E. Cw acknowledges
<v Speaker 2>and appreciates the assistance of the following in the production
<v Speaker 2>of this TV show, and it lists all these things
<v Speaker 2>that list Tommy Boy Music, Mattador Records, Death Throat, Interscope,
<v Speaker 2>DGC Records, House of Paint, and Stonecutter Media. So thank
<v Speaker 2>you to all these companies for allowing us to use
<v Speaker 2>all this music. So it goes to the back after
<v Speaker 2>it says that, and Joel says, I'm not going on
<v Speaker 2>I want my mommy.
<v Speaker 1>Like full full, just a monotone. He's fucked, He's fucked here.
<v Speaker 2>Then we get Chris Candido versus Spike Dudley.
<v Speaker 1>Hey, yes, so Spike was already in the ring, and
<v Speaker 1>they go backstage to Joey, and Joey says, let's give
<v Speaker 1>an old fashioned homecoming welcome, Welcome to his opponent, who
<v Speaker 1>should be a familiar face to us all and it's
<v Speaker 1>fucking Chris Candido. Chris Candido. It comes out to back
<v Speaker 1>and black. Joey Stole says, the face looks familiar, only
<v Speaker 1>the names have changed to protect the guilty, the guilty
<v Speaker 1>of not appreciating true talent. That is, Chris Candido is
<v Speaker 1>in the east of the arena, and then there's a
<v Speaker 1>huge Candido chant followed by a we want Sonny chant.
<v Speaker 1>And I believe there's all so like a sunny thing
<v Speaker 1>later on, because I think Sonny's in the eagles nest
<v Speaker 1>and the crowd can see her, Like that's what I thought. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I think that's right.
<v Speaker 2>They were chanting something else. I just couldn't make it out.
<v Speaker 1>Oh it was Skip is Dead. That was the other one.
<v Speaker 1>Oh okay, yeah sure, because that was what is wfkiiing.
<v Speaker 2>Sure, Okay, that makes a lot more sense. I was like,
<v Speaker 2>what the fuck could they possibly be channing?
<v Speaker 1>Shit is ass?
<v Speaker 2>So? Uh yeah, Candido and Spike Dudley little match here.
<v Speaker 2>Uh yeah, Little Spike Dudley also Candido out here. He
<v Speaker 2>out wrestles Spike to start the match. Spike tries to
<v Speaker 2>use his agility when his wrestling won't work. So he
<v Speaker 2>hits the head scissors, but Candido just German suplexam right
<v Speaker 2>on his head.
<v Speaker 1>He fucking released German dump Spike on his head. Like
<v Speaker 1>we're not even in the era of Spike really getting
<v Speaker 1>his ass kicked yet. So that's like they're like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>this guy can die.
<v Speaker 2>Let me see more.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, let me see more.
<v Speaker 2>So Candido is in full control now. He hammer throws
<v Speaker 2>Spike into the buckle Brett style.
<v Speaker 1>And dies on that too. He like he hits the
<v Speaker 1>buckle with his chest but also his face.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, because I guess he's so short, right, So he
<v Speaker 2>just takes the crowd is distracted by something. I think
<v Speaker 2>that's sunny.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, I think you're right.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. Candido then puts Spike on the top rope and
<v Speaker 2>like I could feel the goosebumps on my arm.
<v Speaker 1>Dude, I was like, I know what's happening next.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, So Candido goes up Man Spike. Dudley's sitting there.
<v Speaker 2>Candido goes up Man Blonde Bombshell stands all the way
<v Speaker 2>on the top rope. I mean this shit is otherworldly, man, good,
<v Speaker 2>Oh my god. Blonde Bombshell is a fucking power bomb.
<v Speaker 2>Where Candido stands on the top rope with you and
<v Speaker 2>then power bombs you both while on the top rope
<v Speaker 2>into the ring.
<v Speaker 1>It's also like he throws you right like you're going.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, and it is fucking awesome. It's one of my
<v Speaker 2>favorite finishes ever.
<v Speaker 1>Dude. It's it's gotta be one of the best moves
<v Speaker 1>of all time. Like, if I saw this, that's the
<v Speaker 1>world champion now.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, dude, this is the most like top guy
<v Speaker 2>finish ever.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, man, Like, what the fuck? This just's fucking so awesome,
<v Speaker 1>And Joey Styles says, oh my god.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I'm showing this on everything. Yeah, anything I can.
<v Speaker 2>This is kind of shit that happens out here. And
<v Speaker 2>Spike just getting watched.
<v Speaker 1>Dude, is I mean, like, how do you even land
<v Speaker 1>without rocking your head like he wants he was fucked
<v Speaker 1>up from that, and Candido pins him after he like
<v Speaker 1>lays them for the pin, does a push up, let's
<v Speaker 1>go of the pin, and the referee just counts the
<v Speaker 1>three anyway, like yes, it's done.
<v Speaker 2>So Candido grabs a mic and cuts a promo afterwards
<v Speaker 2>about uh obviously leaving the WWF.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, he says, uh, you know, I want you all
<v Speaker 1>to know I made my decision earlier this week that
<v Speaker 1>WWF has taken my wife off the road doing WWF
<v Speaker 1>live wire, and Joey Styles says, oh, Bruce from Connecticut
<v Speaker 1>might call that, which that was when fucking Paul Hayman
<v Speaker 1>called in he was Bruce from Connecticut on live Wire.
<v Speaker 1>Candido says, I don't have a bet thing to say
<v Speaker 1>about anybody.
<v Speaker 2>Man.
<v Speaker 1>You know, there's a lot of stuff I wouldn't have
<v Speaker 1>if it wasn't for Vince McMahon. But I want you
<v Speaker 1>guys to know I gave my notice to come back
<v Speaker 1>to the place that I was at the very first
<v Speaker 1>show in this building, and I'm proud to be back
<v Speaker 1>in the most famous Bengal hall in the world. I'm
<v Speaker 1>proud of be a part of the guys that bust
<v Speaker 1>their stinking ass every night and not a locker room
<v Speaker 1>full of assholes like Cody Michael's brother Michael's shades. And
<v Speaker 1>I'm here now to raise this place up to the
<v Speaker 1>upper echelon of this business, to take it from the miserable,
<v Speaker 1>stinking shithole it is right now, and he does the
<v Speaker 1>fucking up yours city leaves. That's awesome, Okay, that was quick.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, great, great everything here like it. They're happy to
<v Speaker 2>see him and not anymore fuck you. So two Cold
<v Speaker 2>Scorpio versus the sand Man that's gonna be your main
<v Speaker 2>event for this episode of Hardcore TV ECW heavyweight title match.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, two Cold Scorpio and Sandman are I'm pretty sure
<v Speaker 1>they're boys here, like that's story, right, their best friends,
<v Speaker 1>and Scorpio is getting a shot here. I'm pretty sure
<v Speaker 1>the crowd's pretty behind Scorpio. In fact, I think they
<v Speaker 1>want him to win this.
<v Speaker 2>Sure.
<v Speaker 1>Sandman is.
<v Speaker 2>Right now a top guy and will continue to be
<v Speaker 2>a top guy forever. So it's like you can always
<v Speaker 2>go back to Sandman, but everyone's always excited to see
<v Speaker 2>someone new take that spot too, right.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, that's right. And sad Man, as you said, top
<v Speaker 1>guy here. He comes out with Sandman's shirt and what
<v Speaker 1>I think is barbed wire pajamas and he like, I
<v Speaker 1>mean the beer that he drinks is I mean, he
<v Speaker 1>holds it. He might as well have tried to hold
<v Speaker 1>it to the ceiling like this shit is a fucking
<v Speaker 1>fountain his fucking face.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, he's got the pants on, cracks a beer like
<v Speaker 2>cool dude. So we come back from commercial Scorpio has
<v Speaker 2>a wristlock on the sand Man. Here, we're getting right
<v Speaker 2>into the action. Scorpio grabs a chair and Sandman grabs
<v Speaker 2>his cane, and they meet in the middle of the ring.
<v Speaker 1>That's awesome.
<v Speaker 2>But they both put them in their respective corners, and
<v Speaker 2>they go to the middle and handshake and hug. But
<v Speaker 2>Scorpio needs them and throws them into the chair in
<v Speaker 2>the corner heavy at all.
<v Speaker 1>He fucking throws him so hard into that chair. And
<v Speaker 1>then the story of you know, the next part of
<v Speaker 1>his matches, Scorpio stopping Sandman from getting the cane, which
<v Speaker 1>I thought was awesome.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, So Scorpio starts using the cane on the Sandman.
<v Speaker 2>Saman ducks under Scorpio and goes for the cane, but
<v Speaker 2>Scorpio stops him with the kick. I thought that was
<v Speaker 2>really well done. Yeah, yeah, I like the story here,
<v Speaker 2>Scorpio with the Alabama jam on Sandman for a two.
<v Speaker 1>I wrote that down.
<v Speaker 2>Dude, dude, I like the Scorpio is just spamming top
<v Speaker 2>rope moves.
<v Speaker 1>That's what he does.
<v Speaker 2>Sometimes I do listen to the video games when I'm not thinking,
<v Speaker 2>and I just keep going back to the top rope
<v Speaker 2>until they stopped me. So Scorpio with a moon salt
<v Speaker 2>on the Sandman for a two. Sandman is actually sideways
<v Speaker 2>trying to grab the cane when Scorpio lands right on him,
<v Speaker 2>right on his side. I know that hurd.
<v Speaker 1>Dude, I legit. I wrote down. He lands like how
<v Speaker 1>Kurt Angle landed when he broke Bob Holly's arm.
<v Speaker 2>I mean it was he was, like it was so great.
<v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, like weird. Scorpio goes back up to the
<v Speaker 2>top rope again, like one of these moves is gonna
<v Speaker 2>put you away, But this time saman gets the cane
<v Speaker 2>and hits.
<v Speaker 1>Him hard as fuck.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. I mean, if that's your gimmick, you gotta.
<v Speaker 1>Swing right, you gotta throw it. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>So Saman then hits the Frankensteiner off the top.
<v Speaker 1>That's not to.
<v Speaker 2>Hear that car respective top guys kirk. So Scorpio catches
<v Speaker 2>him in a bower slam and then goes back up
<v Speaker 2>to the top rope.
<v Speaker 1>Uh.
<v Speaker 2>It looks for the moon salt leg drop based move,
<v Speaker 2>but it, dude, I mean, it's fucking it's unreal. It's
<v Speaker 2>literally unreal. A moon salt leg drop.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that's fucking nuts. Who oh fucking uh. I mean, like,
<v Speaker 1>you know, we see a lot of impressive ship, but
<v Speaker 1>like moon salt leg drop, I feel like it's still
<v Speaker 1>a rare move that not a lot of people do.
<v Speaker 1>And like I got a similar feeling when I saw
<v Speaker 1>uh Blake Christian he did the fucking four to fifty
<v Speaker 1>doubles stomp.
<v Speaker 2>Oh that's the hammer sign show. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I was like, Wow, that's sick as funk that move.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, it was. It was an awesome move. I
<v Speaker 2>remember I felt like that when I saw Sanjay Dutt
<v Speaker 2>do the moon stop.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, you've seen him do the moon stop to Sexy
<v Speaker 1>Eddie's cocking.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, he picture perfect, his dick in balls. I mean,
<v Speaker 2>I don't know how he's even functioning anymore, but shout.
<v Speaker 1>Out five, you know, five pounds of cock meat. You
<v Speaker 1>know he's got a lot left.
<v Speaker 2>He's got four now the stop. So Scorpio looks for
<v Speaker 2>the moon salt leg drop of Missus lands fucking mean
<v Speaker 2>on the on the mat. Yeah, and like the ring
<v Speaker 2>is not moving, like I can't imagine that one No,
<v Speaker 2>and Sandman crawls over and pins him for the three.
<v Speaker 1>Uh.
<v Speaker 2>Scorpio kicks out at three point one, So sad Man
<v Speaker 2>just escapes as it backfires on Scorpio here and is
<v Speaker 2>able to be his best friend.
<v Speaker 1>I think there was bullshit chance. Oh is that what
<v Speaker 1>it was? I swear that's that's what I think it was.
<v Speaker 1>I think people might have been tired of Salmon's run
<v Speaker 1>here like his champ. He might have been three time
<v Speaker 1>champ by this point.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, there's a good chance. I also I also think
<v Speaker 2>that they're excited to see the next angle right that
<v Speaker 2>coming up? People, Yes, right now.
<v Speaker 1>So it's time to get into the nitty gritty here.
<v Speaker 1>So Samon wins, as James said, he's now celebrating with
<v Speaker 1>the Caine and the championship and outcomes Tyler Follington, Sandman's son.
<v Speaker 1>Because for months now, Saman's son has been brainwashed, as
<v Speaker 1>has Salmon's wife, who he may or made out of
<v Speaker 1>his sex with before my wife. Yeah, they have been
<v Speaker 1>brain werewashed by Raven for a while. So Samon's kid
<v Speaker 1>has been dressing up as Raven and following them him
<v Speaker 1>around and YadA, YadA, yadas. So this is like the
<v Speaker 1>first time in minute that Samman's son is in the ring.
<v Speaker 1>He's now dressed as his dad and Joey says, Oh,
<v Speaker 1>it's Tyler. He's just like his dad. We've been waiting
<v Speaker 1>to see this. It's like a feel good moment. He's
<v Speaker 1>there and sam Man takes a knee, opens his arms,
<v Speaker 1>hugs his son. The crowd's fucking happy. They're like, wow,
<v Speaker 1>this is awesome, what a sweet moment. Saman has his
<v Speaker 1>son back. Even Joey says, that's great. And then all
<v Speaker 1>of a sudden, fucking Raven Raven jumps the rail, He
<v Speaker 1>hits the ring, he picks up the Singapore game that
<v Speaker 1>Samon dropped to hug his son, and he fucking hits his.
<v Speaker 2>Like he's got to save it.
<v Speaker 1>He's swinging for the fences. Tyler does the Raven pose.
<v Speaker 2>That second, just for a second, pops it like he
<v Speaker 2>like pre pops it.
<v Speaker 1>Just so you know. It's really like that dad, and
<v Speaker 1>Raven hits the fucking even flow. He kills sam Man
<v Speaker 1>and Samon crumbles on it. And that's where the show ends,
<v Speaker 1>the TV show at the very least. But that's not
<v Speaker 1>how things really ended here. As we said a bunch
<v Speaker 1>on the show, I'm sure a lot of you have
<v Speaker 1>heard the story, but if you haven't, we'll go over
<v Speaker 1>it here. So Raven then drags Sandman through the ropes
<v Speaker 1>where Meeni and Stevie have stacked two tables or maybe
<v Speaker 1>a table on top of the timekeeper's table. Raven drags
<v Speaker 1>Salmon on top of that and Paul drives him through
<v Speaker 1>due to the floor. Then this is where the business happens.
<v Speaker 2>So that's where Kurt Angle's life changed forever.
<v Speaker 1>I imagine Kurt's sitting in the eagles nest is this
<v Speaker 1>is happening like a front row seats.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, dude, I mean like this is I mean, what
<v Speaker 2>a coincidence of things to happen, right? Oh yeah, He's
<v Speaker 2>definitely getting no more pages from Paul Hayman after this.
<v Speaker 2>We lost them.
<v Speaker 1>So under the ring is a crucifix and Stevie Richards
<v Speaker 1>and the Blue Mini are here and they are tying
<v Speaker 1>the Sandman to a crucifix. They put a barbed wire
<v Speaker 1>crown on his head. They hoist the crucifix up so
<v Speaker 1>we're on the floor. He the crucifix is leaning against
<v Speaker 1>the ring and Sandman is crucified, Salmon is crucified. His
<v Speaker 1>son and wife are doing the Raven taunt. Raven's posing
<v Speaker 1>with the easy w title. This is like the most
<v Speaker 1>evil thing I've ever seen in my life. Like this
<v Speaker 1>is fucking crazy, but it kicks ass because it's like,
<v Speaker 1>this is what Raven would do. Of course he would
<v Speaker 1>do this. And Undertaker symbolizes dudes in like, you know,
<v Speaker 1>two years.
<v Speaker 2>Ago, it's okay symbolizing, right, I mean he had the Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>he had the Crown of Thorns.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah right, which you know maybe.
<v Speaker 2>I mean ship was badass, I mean like terrified.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, i mean she's over as fuck. Yeah that was cool.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, so like Sandman's there, he's bleeding on this cross.
<v Speaker 1>They got crazy shots of it. Todd, Gordon and security
<v Speaker 1>try to come out to like, you know, they they
<v Speaker 1>try to get Samon off of it. Instead, they decide
<v Speaker 1>to keep him on it and then carry him out
<v Speaker 1>like Jesus to the back, crucifies.
<v Speaker 2>Everyone in the back. He's pushing through everybody, he's throwing
<v Speaker 2>off Tyler stopped at the tables.
<v Speaker 1>If he invents the Olympic slam on Sunny and well,
<v Speaker 1>ker Angle thought everything was really should have came out
<v Speaker 1>and say with Sandman help him, yeah, carry And that's
<v Speaker 1>what happens there, and that is why Kurt Angle. So
<v Speaker 1>the word is that Kurt was going to come to
<v Speaker 1>Easty to be Taz brought Kurt in that was all
<v Speaker 1>Taz's thing, supposedly, and Kurt says that this offended him
<v Speaker 1>so badly that he got up door in the show,
<v Speaker 1>went straight to Paul Hayman and said, I'm leaving right now.
<v Speaker 1>I want you to send me my check, and if
<v Speaker 1>my name or face is seen on the same program
<v Speaker 1>as that crucifixion, you'll be hearing from my attorney. And
<v Speaker 1>Kurt says that Paul said he had no idea that
<v Speaker 1>was gonna happen.
<v Speaker 2>PAULI just walking by a large room with a huge crucifix.
<v Speaker 1>In it that the Samman SUTs on his shirt.
<v Speaker 2>Sam Man's just a hammer put it together.
<v Speaker 1>That's the other thing. Salmon built this thing as well
<v Speaker 1>as this guy. He built the cross Cross and that's.
<v Speaker 2>Kind of cool. I think they're gonna put me on it.
<v Speaker 2>I'm not like I didn't hear that. I'm gonna get
<v Speaker 2>on out of here.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know, dude.
<v Speaker 3>Even later, Paul Hayman said, Kurt Hangel said, like, if
<v Speaker 3>you're running the show and you don't know what the
<v Speaker 3>fun's happened, and then you're just a bad promoter, like
<v Speaker 3>you're just fad.
<v Speaker 4>There's no way he couldn't have known.
<v Speaker 1>There's no way Paul Hayman didn't know they were putting
<v Speaker 1>salmon on a crucifix. There's no way. I don't believe it.
<v Speaker 2>It was a long segment. You think walked out there
<v Speaker 2>and bere like whoa yeah, or like I guess he
<v Speaker 2>couldn't because kerd Angles kicking his ass and everybody else's.
<v Speaker 1>He threw off the eagles nest, so he was dead.
<v Speaker 1>So because of this, Raven on this show comes out
<v Speaker 1>and apologizes. He comes, he goes into the ring and
<v Speaker 1>he he was He's told by fucking Paul Hayman and
<v Speaker 1>Todd Gordon. I think, you know, because they wanted to
<v Speaker 1>make Really, I think it's because they wanted to make
<v Speaker 1>good for kerd Angle. Let's put the heat on what
<v Speaker 1>they did. Yes, So Raven comes out and he says,
<v Speaker 1>apparently Todd Gordon and Paul Hayman, by acting without their knowledge,
<v Speaker 1>are offended by my use of religious iconography. And apparently
<v Speaker 1>I've offended quite a few people in the audience. You
<v Speaker 1>people chose to respect Scott Leavey's privacy when I need
<v Speaker 1>a personal time, So I choose to respect your privacy
<v Speaker 1>and your religious beliefs. So for the people I deeply offended,
<v Speaker 1>I apologize, which he says is like the most sincerely
<v Speaker 1>insincere apology he could have given. He just did it
<v Speaker 1>because he was as to do it.
<v Speaker 2>I'm leaving, and this is my apology.
<v Speaker 1>And he said, uh, you know, there was a bunch
<v Speaker 1>of heat from dudes in the back, like, uh, saying,
<v Speaker 1>you know, why didn't they like, because you know, Raven
<v Speaker 1>isn't Catholic, He's Jewish, So why didn't you know they
<v Speaker 1>put Raven on a Star of David and Raven said,
<v Speaker 1>love they would have did that. I would have rolled Sam,
<v Speaker 1>I would have rolled away. Awesome. That's pretty fucking heavy.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, he's gonna be a lot of crazy shit,
<v Speaker 1>and like, obviously there's a lot of crazy shit that
<v Speaker 1>happens in wrestling after this. I don't know where it compares,
<v Speaker 1>but like the fact that this like had such potentially
<v Speaker 1>a shift in the history of wrestling with how Kurt
<v Speaker 1>Angle's career goes, Yeah, pretty noteworthy.
<v Speaker 2>So I think the big thing really with it is
<v Speaker 2>that especially during the nineties, uh specifically and even the
<v Speaker 2>eighties to a little bit there was the big Satanic panic, right.
<v Speaker 1>Sure.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, people were just like really on the lookout for
<v Speaker 2>that sort of thing. That was a big hot topic
<v Speaker 2>in America too.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, I think that like kind of leaning in
<v Speaker 2>that way right there, just all all of that timing
<v Speaker 2>up with that kind of stuff, you know, satanic panic,
<v Speaker 2>with the whole country Kurt Angle being there, right, I
<v Speaker 2>mean like there's just a lot that this was just
<v Speaker 2>the wrong night to even attempt something of that nature.
<v Speaker 1>Sure yeah, I mean that's one probably could have been
<v Speaker 1>left in the uh left in the idea book. But
<v Speaker 1>that is it for Eacidy Hardcore TV. October twenty ninth,
