This week: It’s OK To Quit

  • There is a difference between an activity for a child where they are passionate and internally motivated to do and an activity where they rely upon nagging to get to every single time. If it isn’t something they are excited about, it is ok to quit!
  • Trust your instincts! They are often right. If you feel like it isn’t something to stick with, it may be best to let them quit.
  • Listen to your child’s input. Are they unhappy about going? Are you unhappy taking them? Forcing them to go may not be the best option.
  • There is importance in teaching commitment and follow-through, but not at the expense of self-respect and self-care.
