Now listen, Homer. You can have me anytime you want me, m Marge, but if you say one word to your wife, I'll tell her you attacked me. What is it, sweetie? Everyone's wearing clothes in here. What's nice? Forefinger discount dude, Welcome to four figure discount where. This week we're going to be reviewing episode two of season nineteen. It is the Homer of Seville. I believe it's called Seville. Owever it's pronounced. I'm gonna say Seville. I'm Dando and I am Guy. Yes, And I don't need to kick this episode off. I think maybe to give you my thoughts on the to sum up my thoughts on this episode, I should echo or pay tribute to someone that we love and respect here at four a discount. Adam Sandler and his character from seven out Live Opera. Man, I think it's only fitting. Yeah, want to love out of lock all, Homo Saville, mut your suckle. This was not good. I watched this three times, this episode, so I watch it once and then I watch it again for notes, and I sort of skim through it before we do our review, just so it's completely fresh in my mind. It's a weird one because Carolyn Amine wrote this one right. Yes, we like Carolyn, Yeah yeah, and normally I love for episodes. I think you need to start watching it twice, like just watch it without taking because when you find if you watch these ones and take notes at the same time, because do you have a pause and take notes and things like that, I do watch it first and just watch it, okay, and then do a note run just for forfeiting dicap episodes at least because you know, South Bark's still a top quality season. Nineteen Simpsons not so much. I recommend going forward doing the double header because the double Header. The second time or third time I watched it, I enjoyed it a lot more. Not great, but I didn't dislike it as much. So I think I enjoyed is it Maya Rudolph Maya Rudolph. I enjoyed her as Julie a lot more the second time. I thought she was a really interesting character, but I think the story needed to focus more on that because we again get a much annoyed at Homer story and it's just the fighter you. I can understand why she would be annoyed that Homer's flirt. Mother Girls and sort of not paying as much attention to her because he's too busy with his fame. But it seemed to come out of nowhere. It's just they go on their date and their margins like, spend more time with me. I thought, you need to build up to that more. It was just all of a sudden, he's got an Entourage, and which I didn't mind. The Entourage parody, a show that we don't really mention anymore because it's very pre me too, kind of yes, yeah, yeah, and just home. It's the show I would enjoyed it when I was in high school. And yeah, I looked back around and go, yeah, I can see why I liked it in high school, but five probably not. From what I recall of Entourage, it started off pretty smart, I mean of an inside baseball look at how Hollywood operates. Ari just became a parody of himself, and then it just became well, the whole thing became a parody of itself. But really, I think people, well certainly Marky Mark, who was the inspiration for the show, and I guess one of the main drivers of it. I think you realized people like seeing Bro's hand, why does he sound like Sylvester s that's on me. You go and did the face your shirt off and then got back. He's one up down the stairs, come back, come back. I'm sure I could do a Markey Mark voice, but I want to mean, let's just say, just do a John Sena impersonation. That's even harder, is it. Well? He looks and sounds like John Cena, right, know, they they look very similar to him and John Cena. I think they went to the same I think they bought their hair from the same place. But they listen to is Sena or Boston guy? Yeah, yeah, listen to them both together and they sound exactly the same. Wow. Like I mean, I've always got my unified theory of like there's only like six faces in Hollywood and they just recycled them over various actors. Yeah. Yeah. The only imitation I can do with Mark Wolburg is Andy Samberg doing Mark Wolburg. It's like he got your goat. I love you, mother. I don't know his name, but you see him very regularly as a d A or a defendant. Fat John Cena. Do you know what I'm talking about? Fat Sina. No, he's an actor. He was in the Wire oh, I think, Yeah, I'm going to google fat John Cena and see if it comes up. No, I was just going to give you a bunch of fat John Sens. Delaney Williams. Do you know, Delaney Williams. I do not google Delaney Williams. And I guarantee you know when you see his face, always lost a lot of weight. Now he's skinny John, He's normal, He's just he's just old John Cena. I do see exactly what you mean. Though, he's gone full Roseanne. What's his name? The lasmund good John Goodman. He's gone John Goodman. He's lost all. It looks different. It looks weird now, doesn't his way knights lost weight? It's like, oh, man, man, how dare you get Alfie Rebel Wilson? Have you seen he look chick at fat Johnsen? And now look at the fitty looks now it looks unbelievable. He looks like actor James Remark. He looks from Dexter and other things. He looks so good, well done, well done, Delaney Williams. Good for you, Delaney Williams. Uh not good for you, Homer of Saville. I know I should have watched it. Twice, maybe three times, like a flag appel Dando, who's a glutton for punishment. I watched it and look, this was just, to use the common parlance, this was a nothing burger. There was the first thing, nothing to this. There was so much of just it was almost so off. They went, hey, Dan, do you want to showcase you can sing opera? And it was just so much of it, and you think, none of this is just funny. It's just Dan singing. Yes, absolutely, the whole bit in the in the hospital, it's people, are you know, doing funny things? You think they're funny things whilst he's singing, but it's like they're not all that funny. Really, absolutely, and it's just philer Jane. Let me ask you something. Are you familiar with the concept of a hat on a hat. I've never heard that phrase. This is where you have a joke and you add more to the joke just in case people don't get the joke, So you put a hat on a hat, kind of like when they point out, hey, it's guest star so and so yes, or where you have say, Lenny and Carl in the back of the limousine, the two opera groupies and it's like, well, you're not gonna get with Homer, but you can get with me. And then they play Superman from Entourage, just in case you didn't get that these were guys who were sort of hangers on a lah An entourage. It's insulting to my intelligence. It's insulting to everyone's intelligence. Just the idea of Lenny and Carl slipping with these old women in the car is enough to meet me. Go, this is not this is not cool. Look, there was a lot that was not cool in this episode. Ah and listens to the show, will realize that I am a person of generation ex and therefore I have a tolerance for just about anything. In this episode, it's like the behavior of the family is boorish and crass and terrible. Not just Homer, but oh I thought Bart was horrific. That was terrible, making the kick give him money and things. I thought, how you're making him despicable. Yes, this isn't him being a brat. This is horrific. Notes actual words from guy's notes. Fuck off Bart. Yeah, this is not in any way funny, And it's not him putting a cherry bomb down the toilets at school. This is him being an absolute prick. In the past, when any member of the Simpsons family has behaved not despicably, but they've sort of kicked against the pricks and they've done so, they've been punching up them and fighting. They've been fighting the power. You know, if they behave badly the party, it is usually the party thrown by mister Burns or something like that. Well, who's not going to take advantage of she has the most money. Yeah, Or if Marge does something silly or not even silly, but you know it sort of behaves out a character by doing the thing with the Chanell's suit, for instance, it's to get him good because you know she wants to get up with a There's a spider on the line, Mike a phone. Can you see that? I can, indeed, I'm it's an actual spider. There's a d long see. I'm gonna have to film this on my phone because the camera is I'm getting a new SD card because a week moment the kids did, oh my god. All right, I'm filming this. You talk guy. Okay, Yes, this is not a lie. We're not recording this. We're not a video recording this episode. But I wish we had because, yeah, Dan is about to go full Peter Parker. Here. There is a genuine spider on my microphone. I'm gonna get photo. This a selfie. It's not a it's not a big daddy long legs. It's more like a baby short legs. But it's definitely of the daddy long legs family. And it's climbing all over Dan. I'm gonna get a stafe with this guy. Make me famous. Where is he? Where is he? There? It is spier Mike, Spider Mike climbing all over the spider Mike not a pig like in the Simpsons movie Crazy can't take them anything to rhyme with movies. I was like, what is that near my nose? Oh it's a spider. Oh god, yeah, that thing sometimes like, oh, I've got a rogue hair. That's what I thought it was in my line of vision. I went and I was like, that's it was not attached to me. It's on the microphone. It's a spade, it's moving. Is it a Debby long leg? I don't know. It is a day long leg? Is it one of those like small but really venomous ones? Are we getting Australia I don't think it is. I don't know, but anyway, it's still here. Zach, good, last, pass me that tissue. I'm going to oh and yeah, this is a good example of Dando being kind a nice guy who will not kill a spider. I said, hop on this tissue wrapper gently in tissue pairper. There you go. I'll take him to the outside. I'll be back in a moment. You kill the air, you feel the air? My god? Oh no, Dan is telling me to vamp. I'm back. I just put him one of the sound proof phone things on the wall. He did it in the big Kebley. I told you, I don't kill spiders man proof. It's very good to see you actually put your Buddhist theories into practice. But what were we talking about here? We were talking about how the Simpsons when they behave badly, they're usually doing it or the target of it is to feel accepted or something to feel accepted, or it fits the character. Yeah, they're not. They're never punching down. And I'm not a big fan of like comedy should only punch it. But she never punched down. It's like, I don't care if youre getting a laugh punch anyway. Man punch by the belt exactly, not like how nothing bunny to getting punch the balls. But but this way is like you just be mean. Well I mean other, yes, you crashed a funeral. The minute you realize is leave. Yeah, it's not hard, no, it just it felt weird that they stuck away for a while. I mean they did leave pretty quickly, but they did eat some food. But then it becomes the pall bearer and everything and then fall us. But then Bart like burries home, and I'm thinking, so Bart's purpose of this show now is to just be a prick to everybody, be an absolute little monster. When he was a little monster in the parts and we're like, oh yeah, little raps gallion. Yeah, now you're bearing your father alive. Oh okay, okay, yes, oh you're extorting a grieving child. Good for you. What a cower bunker. But also I mean to go back. Sorry, I know we're sort of skipping from place to place here, but like I said about the hat on the hat thing before the whole thing about let's name funny restaurants, I want to say one, how about you just show us? How about we just see them? Was it last episode where mister Burns went the went to the mall. We saw some of these shops had funny names. Crazy ets, phone Home exactly, didn't didn't dwell on it too much, dwell dwelled on it just enough. One might say, it almost feels like they're trying to get credit for their funny names. It goes it's not just going to be a blinking miss it. We're gonna have that character say it, Yeah, acknowledge it. How good are these names? You know? How funny are these Do you get it? My favorite favorite moments from the episode, I'll go with mine first. I liked p Dingo's face of anticipation when he's like, what do you think of my finger? I just saw his overall just appearance was pretty funny. I like Placido Domingo in this pretty much. He was going to take the mickey out of himself, And I'm wondering if that's the reason for this episode we were able to get Placid feels that way, doesn't it, Yeah, because I can't see any other reason for this thing you mentioned. You know Dan c having a lovely singing voice. This is a nice showcase for that, But why Opera? I think someone in Placido Domingo's office, Paul Evan said, Hello, Simpsons, keep going. That was he's a good digger, by which I mean he's digging himself into a whole Placido Domingo huge. His kids are a huge fan of His grandkids are a huge fan of. He'd love to be on. Oh, okay, how can we work this d thing? How can we working into it? And then, because I feel like the Julia's story could have really applied to any profession very much. It didn't have to be an opera based story. I know she's the tries to kill it in him by being the what are they called conductor? But I wrote conductor? But then Marge says, what they're actually starts of? M what are they called? Maestro? Yes, I think that's a sort of a catchull. Oh, actually no, it might be just a conductor. Because there was the recent film on Netflix called Maestro Seinfelder The Maestro. Well, that's true, and it's about the great Leonda Bernstein was mainly known as a conductor, but he was also a composer of music and a whole bunch of other stuff. So I know, maybe maestro just does apply to conductors. Maybe I'd love to be called the maestro. It's good. It's even just a good nickname. Maestro means you're the best. Yeah, that's what it means for me anyway. Yeah, I thought I calling you maestro. I thought the scene where Julia took her close off at the start, what was she first? I thought it was pretty funny time's reaction. Everyone's wearing clothes in here, except it then took it took a really weak, kinky chain, unpleasant term for we're just the whole. If you tell Marge about this, I'll say your attack me Like, I don't know if you want to be saying that kind of thing, and this particular two thousand and seven time. Yeah, it feels you wouldn't do this in a post me too well where you sort of cause it makes it almost seems like you're politically. People who are actual victims absolutely love assault, you know, so I think you do it now. I have not watched the current Netflix Sensation Netflix Front of the Pod. Uh we canceled. Okay, so you have not, or you would not. Apparently the big thing on Netflix at the moment is called Baby Reindeer, a UK stand up comedian slash performance artist took his mind his depths of personal trauma to tell a story about stalking, about sexual abuse, all this kind of stuff. Apparently a big hit. That's what the people are into these days. He's called Baby Reindeer or the Special. It's the nickname given to him by his stalker. Oh okay. The show is also called Baby Reindeer, and it's a stand up No, no, it's he's a stand up comedian, I think, and he's being stalked in the show. Yes, okay. And I think he had a one man show that was called Baby Raindeer and he's turned it into this drama for Netflix that's apparently very very popular. If you know about Baby Reindeer, I have yet to watch it. Lovely Luise watched it without me. Oh that could happen. No, no, that's fine. There's a lot of stuff that we will not watch. So do you ask first? Well, I think I've said this on the show on the past. I watched the first episode of The Bear, and I'm like, I can watch more of this, but I take a lu said and watching it. I watch the first of the show called The Bear. I think it's really good. I think you and I should watch it the other cool, so I didn't watch anymore. She, on the other hand, watch all the Baby Randy. It's okay by me because I was say I'll get to this when I get to this. She's not watching Showgun. I want to watch all the Showgun Shogun really good. She is not watching eight movies. That is good. I watched the other one last night. Yeah, escape from Planet. As the Apes came to they came to our planet. They came back in time you madiacs. I was gonna have I was gonna put this on Facebook Twitter. It really is like one of the best lines from The Simpsons. Wait a minute, Dan, delivery that whole I don't care away we go as long as don't send us that terrible planet of the APPEs. Wait a minute, statue Liberty. That was our planet. I love it so much, and it just this, this is over and comes down Barni's passed out. It's talk about that episode rather than this one. I also didn't mind Homer's explanation of I can only sing love songs when thinking of you, so they're technically our groupies. I like him when Home is actually able to talk his way out of something because he's not doing anything technically wrong here. No, that's correct. I mean he wouldn't like it. He's reveling the attention. Yeah, a bit too much, too much, Yeah, especially in front of Marge. But anyway, yeah, I didn't mind that. Did you have any moments that you enjoyed? I like, I like, just call me Pete Dingo, and I thought said Placido Domingo. Look, I may be mispronouncing this this great singer's name, but I like the way he conducted himself. And I did like at the end when Chief Wigan was like t shirt that one get away Hagleyachi or too bad madam? Butterface what I had? Two? I've been in that situation. Did no one get these great singers? I actually don't mind when he says take the shot they are firing, and the says one cop. He just puts his arm with a hand gun over. Next question, you there eating the paste all right, Trivia? My first question for you is what food does Homer take one last off before they leave the funeral? Oh? Does he actually name it? Yeah? Just one more and then they leave and then he gets asked for being the pall bearer. It's a minikeiche, a mini caiche. Okay, they're my favorite party food. Mini caiches. I don't necessarily, I don't think i've I can't recall the last one. I had a big slice of a caiche, but manikishas that is fit in your mouth and the delicious. You're not wrong. When's the last time you were at an event that had all rbs or finger food? U would have been a wedding about a month ago, okay, but they had finger food finger food wedding. It wasn't like a sit down wedding. Okay. I don't know if you've been to any events recently where it's finger food. But I'm going to need both hands for this ship. Like it's like say a little box of fish and chips or something with like a fish nugget three chips. It's like, I'm going to need both hands for this ship. Yeah. I like, just it has to be on a stick, a stick on a stick or can fit in my mouth. Yeah. Yeah. They start bringing around mini sliders like it's it's not quite a burger, but this need two hands there, It's like it's weird. Yeah, yeah, I can't hold it between two fingers. I have to hold it between yeah, and you feel like the claw. Yeah, and I'm going to need napkins for this ship. When you say the claw, what's your instant thought process? What do you think of when you hit Okay? Now, so I know that you're probably thinking of lie a lie. Yeah, yeah, you're thinking it is one of the scenes that I remember. It's some one of my favorite Jim Carry movies. It's fine, it's pretty good. It's sort of forgotten, but I've always loved it. Yeah, it's one of his biggest hits though apparently. I mean it feels like, oh, this is like Jim Carrey not at the peak of his powers, but like people went just to see the Blooper real. Yeah, people, Jim just gonna go. I always felt so bad for Carry. Was when he was trying to do the Claw, the Claw losing one hand. Yeah, sorry, Like, oh man, you're trying so hard. Yeah, but he played that role really well. He did. Yeah. When I think of the Claw, this is the generation gap between Dan and I. There was a car There's also actually pretty racist in hand tight on Get Smart. Did you ever see this? There was like he was an Asian crime crime boss and called the claw. Was he called the craw? But it was not the craw, the craw? I said, that ship. This is this is how we rolled back in the seventies. Also, I'm pretty sure the guy playing the claw was not Asian. Then ask that question because he said it was racist. I was like, did they call him the craw instead? Yeah? And well they that was the thing. And you know, you'd have kids around the school yard go, not that kraw, that claw. Holy shit. I wonder why the world's in the state because we're running folks all the time. Time to be allowed and racist. Anyway, your first question, my first question to you is we talked about the kid getting extorted for ten bucks every month. What was the kid's name? Donnie? It was Donnie Donnie. Yeah, don't do what Donnie don't does? Who uses their opera glasses with thermal vision? Oh? Another d name? She maybe have to see the wizard. Oh Dorothy Dorothy. Hey, thanks for that man. And she was voiced clearly by Maggie Roswald Roswell. Yeah, we're gonna say Maggie on it. That's not the name memory Blake for a second. It's good that we were here to help each other though, because I mean, you can't see this, but this is me in the watergar help me, help me, and Dano threw me a lifeguard, threw me the life what do you call those things? The life ring thing, the doughnut. Yeah. And then as I was he matally called a life saver, the maybe a little sweet treats will be But as I was pulling him in, I then fell in and then he had to put me out. Mutually assured salvation as opposed to distraction. It's great. What was Moe's snack at the opera? Lamb chop? It was a lamb chop wrapped in file correct, Hey, was I meant to Did you ask me a question? No, I asked you Dorothy one. That's right. Yeah, and that's my turn. Okay, yeah, you did it right. You didn't do anything wrong. But what did my whole live to hear that? My final question is also food based. What does Marge go to cook or go to make before she text closed off checks mix pie? What is this? That's a good question because yesterday we recorded an episode of Speaking of the Hill, which it didn't see center around freeto pie, but we did a bit of a deep dive into Freedi Pie to find out what it was like. It was basically Nacho's as a pie. What is checks mix made of? Check Chex mixes like a sweet cereals cereals, Yeah, chips have breadsticks, pretzels, nuts or baked sof the mix, you know those things. So it's a pie. That's just basically what you put it in a crust and then you probably pull like some molten chocolate apple. So it's just like that basically. You can you see it gives a look at that? So yeah, oh damn, that looks Notice it's just yeah, that stuff in pie. I can get off all on that action. I may ask you one more question. This is only this doesn't require your knowledge of the episode. Got a little broader pleas you do. Domingo is one of the three tenors as mentioned in this episode. Can you name the other two? No idea, I got him now that guy. They are Luciano Pavarotti and Roddy one of them. Yeah, all right, well now it is time for oh yeah, look I want This episode has not been great. Well, actually no, this episode of four Thingscan has been great. This episode since it's not great, but even the best part of this episode talking about stone Cutters exactly right. The original edit of The Homer of Seville was I believe in December. No, it was in September, September thirtieth, two thousand and seven. It was written by the Lovely Lady Caroline Emine and directed by Mike Frank Polsino, the Chopboy Gate, the Walls Wall Street Journal is better than ever. I don't know, it's something about that gag just sort of sat wrong with me. It felt too you like the Wall Street Journal. No, No, it just felt like Inside Baseball, because I mean, I'm pretty sure that Wall Street Journals is part of Murdoch's publishing empire. No, but he's he's basically saying that it's not Oh yeah, but to me trying to say that he shouldn't be saying that it's not that. Actually, it just feels like it feels like, as we said yesterday doing one of the other podcasts, it was kind of like a like Leo pointing. You'd say to his next someone, you'd say to the person next one the I think they have another shadowed mood. How can they say that? Yeah, I guess I don't know. I think I think this episode just put me in a bit. I think I'm just taking shots at this episode for no reason. The cash gag was the one that had before from Home a Razzi, the really long evolution one which means we were short on time. But instead of Homer homage saying something like what took you so long? Ex elements Do you get the milk? Did you bring the milk? Yeah, which I think doesn't work as well as what took you so long? Or did you bring your milk? I don't know. But the episode kicks off at the church. I didn't mind the sign here the real American Jesus, the real American idol. And it's over. So they all rush out of the car park. I wants to be the first one out. He was so bored of church, and he did a whole book of finder words. I and A were their words. Margin reads out the names of the store. So we had gridlot on the roof. Thank god, it's fried eggs, luft Waffles, Bodacious Fratatas, buffet, the Hunger Slave, which I thought was pretty good. That's not bad. I also like botacious forra tatas. And Homer wanted to say one and he just gets Denny's. Then everywhere has a really long line there to decide. Look, we're going to go home and cook, because you know, Marge's the cook. She cooks all the food for us, and she says she doesn't want to cook. She refuses, and they see this starving teachers catering, taking food into somewhere. So Marge breaks into this house. Turns out it's a funeral though, and as we're saying, you think you'd probably leave, just put on your sad faces, you would leave. I'm trying to workshop brainstorm ways in which they could make the mistake, like it's one of those fancy open houses. And the whole point of this was to have have Homer get a saw back it was a long wind away from home and hurt his back. Yeah, a whole bunch of stuff happens, and Homer hurts his back, and then the story and then the story begins. And we've had plenty since the dawn of time of the Simpsons, they've had this where a bunch of stuff happens, but usually a bunch of stuff happening is funny. Yeah, and this was not. What's funny. It's when you see Bart do the thing to Donnie. It put me in a bad mood. It really takes you out of watching the show, sort of takes you out of the moment. Don't you think you think that's so horrible? Yeah, I think the fact that there's oh, you realize you've crashed a few and I was like, I don't know, guys, think you might have you know, stepped in the big pilot shit here. Yeah, something needs to happen. They should have had the pall Bearer thing happened like straight away, would not have them sort of take advantage of the food, have them try to leave and then the family just needs them there for a reason. Yeah, exactly, they can't leave it. But the minute starts extorting money from the kid, it's like, sorry, I missed my pop pop. I miss him too. What's your name? Donnie? Your Donnie pop up said that after he died, you should give me ten bucks a week starting now. Okay, listen, I'm out of town next week. So Homer thought she said. Polar Bear, which is why agrees to be a Paul Bearer, falls into the open grave and Bart decides to just bury him because why not? Because why not? And that's the first act of this episode done. I got sort of a little bit of a chuckle out of what if the Homer says something, Well, the tragedy has a stalked this family never sees because her brother rolled his ankle. Let's just wake up be a Paul Bearer. Yeah, I went at the hospital. Homer has a backsprain and he ingested a lot of grave dirt. He lays him down and it only take a minute because a thousand dollars. I always enjoy those on the game because the house system is just a lot of rat But man, it's very expansive. You've experienced, I mean you've had you've had kids to take care of, but I mean primarily with the lovely Jet. Yeah, we've spent less on Jet in the last twelve months, so basically I've taken Jet to this Michael Ball vet, the guy I mentioned all the time, Michael Bell. We like this guy. Corus me ten dollars every month to get Jet sorted out, gets tablets, blah blah blah. Those tablets are get one hundred for ten dollars. Those tablets at the vet. You get ten tablets for ninety dollars. To use a phrase that's being banned, the math ain't mathing the exact same tablets. Going on the exact same tablets. You should take only a minute and cost about one thousand dollars. No, it doesn't sound like Homer's usual annoyed grunt. Go oh fascinating. When Homer is on his back. His stomach loud is perfectly under his diaphragm, giving him a powerful singing voice. Is that a real thing? It is? Tenor Andrea Pacelley recorded an entire song on his back. We discussing this, I believe, off the air before we started recording. That actually was something that Butchali did. We wanted to find out this was bullshit or not. So Lisa claims that the Tender and Andrea Chlli recorded an entire song in his back. But Clli apparently did record one track on his Amoure album on his back and demonstrated this technique on an episode of American Idol. Apparently it is a thing, But learning to paint whilst laying you back apparently not. Spoiler Yeah right, So the revealed here that he is a good singer. Everyone loves the singing. Apparently everyone loves the singing because they devote a whole lot of the episode to it. The next few minutes, at least, Bed goes up, Bed goes down, his voice changes, and Hibbitt then sings along with him during surgery. But I did mind burd shopping in the morgue for parts. I thought that was fine. It's good. It's that's a good idea. That's a good idea. Burns buys the motorcyclist mustache and things like that. And your money, that all the money you contributed to the anti hammet laws are starting to payoff because young people are his future. Then they hear Homer and they head to the Betty and Herbert Weinstein Winstein, whatever's pavilion? Do are these people? I was, I did my research, he Weinstein, you go. I looked on I did my research. We Jamaine looked on Wikipedia, and they didn't mention it. So I don't know. I'm just looking up here, Herbert Weins. It's definitely be a true chronic. The book opens with the Herbert Weinstein murder case. Okay, so let's look up Herbert Weinstein. The brain on the stand, mister Weinstein cyst So, mister winsteinsists. When historians of the future tried to identify the moment that neuroscience began to transform the American legal system, they may point to a little noticed case from the early nineteen nineties. The case involved Herbert Weinstein, a sixty five year old ad executive. He was charged with strangling his wife, Barbara to death. And then, in an effort to make the murder look like a suicide, throwing her body at the window of their twelfth floor apartment on East seventy second Street in Manhattan. Before the trial began, Weinstein's lawyer suggested that his clients should not be held responsible for his actions because of mental defect, namely an abnormal cyst nestled in his erachnoid membrane, which surrounds the brain like a by the website claiming insanity basically to get him off. Yes, that's where it began. Finally, how they talk about the spider tumor and we just had a spider on the on the microphone. We did not plan that. It was scary times. It was the scary time. Doesn't burns, say Betty, and he does, say Betty. I said not, Barbara. Yeah, so Betty and Betty Weinstein. LO'SOK at Bettie. I was just so confused. I'm really confused. Fifteen Betty Winstein's stock photos and high rais pictures. Whatever, Betty, We're starting getting way too much time to hop it, Betty. Once, look, we had a fun true crime detour. Yeah, for a minute, learning about herd Weinstein. Yeah, and His and His Spider Brain. Betty offered us so much if true crime is apparently a bit of a cash cow, if you'd like us to do a true crime podcast as part of the four Finger Discant their work experience. Let us know, I want to do a true crime podcast. But it's who shot mister Burns and we create a new It's not Maggie, it's actually somebody else. The listeners have to try and guess who it is. Oh, okay, then we sort of manufacture clues and stuff like that, right, and we'll do it in the vein of like cereal. Yes, going to be actually somebody different. Yeah. Wow, it's full of interesting ideas but not but yeah, so they're singing along, everyone's having a great time. Burns offers him a role, the lead role in is It lab? Ahem, Yeah, you've just reminded me of one of my It's a good bit from the movie Trading Places, which I'm assuming you have seen, where Dan Aykroyd's his blue blood socialize type has been taken into He's been framed for drug dealing, gone to the worst police precinct in Philadelphia. Frank Oz is the cop. Is he who busts, who's admitting him going through his pockets two tickets to the opera. Beau him and Dan Loom it's an opera. Frank Oz just gives the bet it's an opera. I remember trading places for Jimmy. I was like, I told that at a pivotal time in my sort of like you know, pubescent development, like hot. I remember seeing that hiring not expecting that, you know, I just if you think you go to get you know, sometimes with Dan and Eddie, I was just like, you know, twelve thirty, I was like, oh ship hot, damn looking good, Billy Ray feeling good. Lewis trade places. We should do it on the movie. Let's do it. Yeah, but I did. I didn't mind. Here. So he's performing at what looks like sit in the opera house. Yes, Now, was this the hole that they built with the like a while ago? No? No, no, what was it next? Because it was next to something? What was it? What there was the building that was next to because you know, we should but didn't they build something for an opera? And they and they did the syfy and they said we've already had the good bit and that we're all going to leave, and they had no idea what to do with it, and they turned it into the prison. Prison turned into the prison. Yeah, I don't know. I remember it's the same building or not, but canon anymore, I think that. I think it just comes. I knew what he's just out the window. The opera begins. Lenny and car there watching from terrible seas. Apparently that's a Citizen King reference. I don't. I've never seen it. Citizen Kane. Can you believe it? I can believe it. I mean not because of you, but because you know. It's just I mean, it's more movie that gets name checked these days. Castle blank is the long one. No, I don't think Citizen Kane is three hours, and it's probably closer to two. Okay, Castle Blankers. I mean here's the thing about Castle Blanker as well. You shouldn't have got missed that it's gonna be a stuffy your classic class to make a moves. It's just a good it's just a good melodrama. Yeah, I mean, Catalina is enjoyable at any age. Great movie, fantastic love Castle. I was Gone with the Wind. That's really long. It's Gone with the Wind is very like that's the what I'm thinking of that, I know it's one of the classics. Oh, you're going on the winds something like three and a bit hours. It's like the Avengers. I don't give a damn, right, Frankly, Mada, I don't give a fuck. Yeah, you say fuck, but I just I just don't know that was the equivalent of funk when that film was made, though, Right, but I'm pretty sure that people back in the now Clark Gable you you can't you? Oh my hut the vapors. I didn't mind though, when he were singing that he pushes the Mimi out of the bed and he's now a star, an opera star. No, we come up from commercial to the family. We're all proud of him. He says. This is going to make up for me being drunk at the family. Our father daughter dance. I can't change your future because you know he's a bad father. Well, that person, I think is Next week we get a little montage here of them hanging up the Homer banner and they make it so down and this elephant bit. I was like, that was such a filler. Yeah, what's the point of it? Are we pulling the whole cast No, it's one person. One person. That's it. That's it. That's okay. Having said that, if that gag had been in a Golden Age episode, I mean, it's not necessarily obvious is a Golden Age gag? But is this something you forgive if it was in a better episode? Man, I don't think so, because I'm usually the one that's trying to find the positives. I don't what it was. It was just when he goes just one person and it went for like fifteen seconds. This this is old on nothing, even with the extended couch gag. Yeah, it felt like there was a lot of padding and a lot of streut. Three to five minutes of just nothing in this episode, when you can include the couch gag and the elephant scene and things like that. Singing in the hospital, seeing the hospital was just there was a lot of it. Yeah, I was now singing at the hockey breaks the glass and they break out the penalty box. Now, is that because they had fire on their feet when they flew off? Was they meant to be a reference to, Like, I didn't say that. So when they when they said we're free and they break out the penalty box and there's fire on their feet. I don't know. I don't know. Maybe they're just meant to be like demonic Placido Domingo. Is his name, Domingo Domingo. I think I think it might be placid Pete didn't go Yeah, why not? He likes it. I just really enjoyed when he does his He he's a note. He's like waiting for Homer's praise, and Homer doesn't give it to him, of course, But I just I thought he was a good sport. I know this predates crazy stupid love, which we talked about on the movie Guys, But I was expecting pe Dingo to sort of do a Ryan Gosling in the changing room kind of thing where he just sort of struts aroundside confident in masculinity, doesn't even need a towel. Yeah, and that home is a little bit intimidated by it. Eh missed opportunity, perhaps nice, said Homer. That was a hot one. Well, praise from Placy Doldmingo. Just call me pe Dingle. Hey, I'll think about it. You know, Homer, there is one thing about opera that has always bugged me. Everyone sings instead of talking. But you made me believe I was in a magical world. We're singing East talking danks. You know about three tenors. You're my second favorite. Yeah wait, they forgot about that other guy? Sorry your third. Waitma, before you go, there's a new old type. Been working on telling me what you think? Hmm, what if you give it a little more disflavor like the Cape Reaching for the starts kid now out for dinner for Marge with Marge for the anniversary and Lennie and Carlberz the Entourage. She asked him to dressed in Entourage style as well. I mean, this was one of the biggest shows in the world at the time, so I can understand why this would have This would have been on the ads for sure, because oh yeah, everyone was talking about Entourage that point. What's his name that Jeremy Piven, Harry Gold. Yeah, but Jeremy Piven played the role like he was so perfectly suited for that role. He really was really star making that. I mean Pivet had been maybe supporting parts. Yeah, he was that guy. Yeah, he's good friend the John k X and I think it appeared in a lot of Cusax movies, but I had a few, if not starring, I think he's the star of Movilled PCU, which is apparently a bit of a cult classic now, like a sort of mid nineties animal house style college comedy and a few other things. But yeah, he I think he recognized, oh, this is an opportunity for me to really go somewhere. Brought himself some new hair because he had a very obvious receiving hairline before that doesn't entourage worked out a little bit. He's like, yeah, I'm going for it, and he really went for it. But I think he sort of doug his own grave in away because now he's just Ari Gold. Yeah. Yeah, And I think a lot of people found it maybe difficult to separate the character from the actor. It reminds me of kind of Tony Starkish, just without the intelligence when it comes to science and things like that, just that arrogance but reject shop Tony Stark. Yeah perhaps, Yeah, it's like we couldn't afford our DJ. Jeremy Pivens is doing a pretty good job. But he's about twenty thirty percent Laura in the charisma scale. He'd be like the TV TV I man very much. So, yeah, look all you respect to Jeremy Piven, who I think is a fine actor. Did a fantastic job on a Rush. Yeah yeah, I mean that show was just made. That show was famous because of him. I reckon. I mean he had the main stars, but like he he made the show. Oh yeah, very much. For a while there, it was almost like every team wanted to be Ari Gold. They wanted to live Vicarasy through. I'm going to be a successful manager and an agent. I'm going to be a Wall Street ball And then the Wolf of Wall Street came in and I was like, that's going to be me, and they had their posters on the wall. There was a guy at our old workplace who had the poster of the guy from Wolf of Wall Street on his wall in his office, and I was like, dude, dude, what like he had the poster of Leo was Georgia Yeah yeah, oh okay, yeah, but I'm like still with like quotes underneath it. And I was like, oh no, And was this person he was like twenty two twenty three Okay, So they were a bit naive. And I was about to say, are they smart enough to sort of ironically just say he was friends with the right people and he got himself an office. I think you know what you're talking about. Next, of all times, marks off good idea, have ned Yes, we never turn you to the home clip. You don't want to put a clip. I want you to stop flirting with women, No problem, sir. May I say I thoroughly enjoyed your performance, And may I say that I'm enjoying the calm waters of your deep blue eyes. Oh well, what that's how guys talk. You are out of control the late nights, the evening, You've actually going your cape. M I miss her a long time. I miss you, need you help, BA want us to take Marge shopping. You guys, go on, We're gonna walk home, great college walk. It's the best. I really want to hook up with Homer. Now we both know that ain't gonna happen. But I'm right here. The Limo rock and just sort of went. I'm not too sure about that, but they get rescued, as I said, from the crazy fans and us. Julia. They invited her in for coffee, and she suggests that she gets hired as the president of Harmer's fan club because she can keep the crazies and check Marge gree She it's a good idea. I did like home as sort of general chit chat. You see a part where our foot lines and I say, oh, spaghetti's and no one really knew, and then she just takes her clothes off and threatens that, you know, if you do say anything, I will cry raping basically, and it's like I wouldn't be using this anymore. But you know, they this was two thousand and seven, so everyone's wearing the clothes in here. I like that. We come back and Julie's doing really well at her job, taking all the bookings and whatnot, and Marge is just loving her. There give me a little bit of montage of her trying to seduce Homer at work, actually putting his hand on her breast and then wearing seductive leather cl bending over in front of him. Yeah, here's the thing. You've got my Rudolph, very very funny person, very very talented comedian. Not used a whole lot in this episode. No, no, I mean there's not a whole lot of dialogue. You've got a lot, You've got a fair bit of Juelia, but a lot of it is silent. A lot of it's visual humor, is a lot of it's visual humor, which I'm assuming that my root Off didn't have a lot to do with that. She wasn't like Andy Serkistar bend over here, look up a Dan. That's it, look up a Dan. What am I saying? That you have wasted a perfect good ma rooto Off here as get lost you waste for a mustaches coming up as well? I thought that was a good payout for Flanders. Not very mean, but he basically she's in bed with pretending to be Marge at the hair on where Marge was I don't know, but he you know, she agrees, Okay, I'm never gonna get you. Yeah, you're never gonna have the men that you're the only man you'll ever love. So he as so then to hire the replacement and make sure she's not crazy like you. Then he finds a cobra in his cereal, which I've read two things, so apparently the reference to the Jungle Book. Apparently he bangs the cobra get something and holds it up. Yeah, I've never seen the Jungle Book the original animated? What ar Okay? One of my favorites get Bare Necessities with one of my favorite songs. Everyone knows the song Bare necessity. Yeah, No, I love the Jungle Book. Kids love Jungle Book for a while as well. Yeah, do they like the live action? Live action? Scary for him? It's a bit scary yeah, wa too scary because it's watch his name Midris Elba as shit can't. Yeah, fantastic, really good performance. Think about those live action movies is though that the animals can't emote because they're animals. So when it's animated, you can have Faster looking scared as he's being thrown off a cliff. When are you watching the live action linking? It's just a line going, brother, help me. It's like it's just his mouth. Movie. There's no emotion on the face. It's just fucking stupid. Are the never releasing a prequel? Yeah? I have not seen the quote unquote live action Lion King. Oh don't just don't no, oh, and don't. I've got less desire to see ma Faster. Don't go see the Fast film people, because they need to learn that we don't want these anymore. It's the damn shame it's been made by a filmmaker. I really like Barry Jenkins, who's supposed to get in the bag for this one, but I feel like that the box office for these films doesn't necessarily come from want demand. It comes from intrigue. People go, I just want to see what the Lion king. People want to go see what it looks like, and everyone will take going with that ship that point. But because the box office is big, they go bigs. Well. I think people are cluing in because I don't know how well did the live action Milan do? How well did the live action Little Mermaid do? Didn't know there was live action Milan? Wow? We okay, I don't know. It's almost like we're going, Oh, you guys don't want Star Wars series every single month? You guys want to. It's almost like scarcity increases demand. Oh, saturation isn't good. It's like all the lessons of economics that we learn over the twentieth century just don't apply in the twenty first century. What's going on? Yeah, meanwhile, we should only do like one podcast a month exactly. Yeah, we're killing the matt but still get all the money. Oh woo ooo ooo ooo ooo oooooo stoo stoo stoo stoopid Flanders. Why the crescendo, My dear old friend, good like you waste of a mustache. Ly and ugly retrospect now pretty mean unnecessary. A good burn never goes out of style. Yeah, Wigiam then says they've got the opera house in full lockdown to pre crash a shandily. They're ready for Homer to attempt for them to attempt to murder Homer. Now the performance is going on. Home is doing a great job, but Marge can't enjoy it. She's too scared. Lisa sees nothing suspicious except she can hear someone loudly unwrapping candy, which is made with his lamb chopping. One thing that I cannot cannot stand is people opening up ship at the movies. When they take forever to open it up. You think either I know you think you're trying to be quiet, but you're taking a long time and making more noise. Just get it done. That was that was not static. The thing, by the way, that was me imitating me opening a chip. It's a night screening of Kingdom of the Pla and then they reach into the packet really slowly. I'm like, just fucking reach in and get it out. It's the one thing I feel bad about when I get snacks at the movies because I don't like popcorn at the movies. You've said this, I prefer potato chips. But opening a bag and then crunge potato chips, am I ruining everybody's moving experience? You are, am I disrupting the screening of Abigail the Child Vampire spoiler. But I heard it was an okay film. It's fine, it's gonna be on v ID like tomorrow. Oh, okay, fair enough. But then notices Julia is the maestro Wigam tries to take her out, but she makes the music get play louder. He falls down Margin, she shoots the dart, Margin jumps in front of her. How she got down that far so quickly, I don't know, but she holds the instrument in front of her. French horn, frenchorn goes through. The French schorn comes back out and hits Julia, and then they take the shot. The snipers they all miss. I didn't mind. The guy just reaching over the top with his gun and the Shandeley falls on top of her, which apparently the supper bullets stopped her heart long enough for the chandily to squeezed the poison out or something that was what they that's why she's alivesting. I'm sorry you got hurt, but you learned an important lesson. No one comes between me and my homide. I'll get you for this march if it's the last thing I do. Oh, and I scheduled the cable guy to come on Wednesday between ten and two. Oh, but Wednesday's not good for me. I know, Marge, I know, let's go Hagleacchi or should I say Madam butterface? But I had too. He retires from opera Why, I don't know. He's really good, he's obviously getting paid for it. Why he would retired doesn't make sense. The murderers now gone, Yeah, I mean just a lines. Oh, the groupies I can't handle it or something like that. Yeah, he's gonna do something much more. Do you think that's bit, something much more fun to do on his back And it's painting there about Adam? Iought was, Oh, it's not Michael Angel's David. That's a sculpture of course. Yeah. Is it the creation of birth of Adam's creation of Adam? I think so? Yeah? On the roof? Is that a real thing? No? And that's the end of the episode. So definitely a weaker episode of The Simpsons. I've been told they do get better as the season goes on. I feel like last season started stronger and sort of way off of it, yeah, type of. I feel like this one hopefully is shit at the start and gets better hope. So yes, that would that would be good. Yeah. Look, I must admit talking about this episode with you, your unfailing positivity and general upsided this there are some little bits of gold dust in there. What do we learn? What did you learn from the episode of the Davis? Oh? Well, I let who Herbert Weinstein was. I learned that there's a difference between Barbara and Betty. There is, Yeah, the difference I don't know, but there is a difference, but there's certainly a difference. Forward your names will be new Name Ampionship. It's round two for season nineteen. The current leader Bond stands at this in first position. We have Adam Moorehouse on three points, Phil Hawkins on two, and Matt Collins on one. Take it away being awfully familiar with Philip J. Hawkins. Just film now is it just Phil Hawkins? Not even Philip's just Phil Hawkins? Ok? How about your way? Eyah? One point. One point one point goes to barre prone. That would be Philip J. Hawkins. Nice one, Phil. He's only to be called Philip Jay Hawkins when he's in the lead. So now he's one point puts him equal first with Adam Wolhouse at the moment, So unless he's first, he can't be Philip j. It's just Phil Hawkins. He wined at Philip Jame. If he goes Philip j when he's winning. Two points two points goes to the bedding singer. That is that's a good title, World done. That's Heath Appleby, first time on the Liddle board this season. So if Heath Appleby is now on two points as well, Hey Dan, no, how do you like that? Appleby? Not bad? Okay? Three points goes too fat Man of the Opera. And this was on twice, it was indeed, but who got there first? It would be so Adam Wilhouse did a second, Clever Kyle. Clever Kyle got in first. So unfortunately, Adam, you did copy somebody else's name, and you did the second. So let's not say you copy. Let's let's just say the great minds think a lot exactly. Yeah, so clever Carle is now on three points, which means we have a three way type of first position so far Adam Woolhouse, Philip Jay Hawkins and Clever Cayle muldoon. Oh see the start of a race like this anybody unless it's and then verious, it's going to be Philip j. I'll give you a bit of a head start. Yeah, looks very confident. It's like sitting back there is the tortoise in the hair, and the hair just sort of like sits back at the star. Catch up that totters a bit later on you're sitting here the eat this slams the teep in. All right, so yeah, and second position heat that will be on two. Ad mccollins. No heat, that will be on two mc collins on one point. All right, this time for some mail bad mail bag. First question Heath appleby Well Andrew JP commented on it. He would have been he was at the first one. Heath says, I've recently watched both the Bob Marley and the Amy Winehouse movies and enjoy both. What are your favorite music bier picks from the plethora released in the last few years. Gosh, I remember watching one about Bob Dylan many years ago. Think I'm not there, Yes, with multiple versions of Bob Dylan because Bob Dylan, Yeah, changed supersonicad Bobby style. Yes he did. Apparently there's a like a legit biopic of Bob Dylan currently being filmed with Timothy Challamaye as Dylan. What about who's the voice of Bob Dylan on the on King of the Hill? Maybe he's looking of the Hill, Bob Dylan, but he didn't speak actual words, just spoke gibberish. I don't recall. It was the one where that Hank's got the Hank got the Willies. It's the one where it's the golf one and Willie Nelson's on It is that Willie Nelson's party, you remember? I forget the Bob Dylan part. Oh yeah, Bob Dylan's in there. Yeah, I think I'm pretty sure it was. Who's the voice of Hank Hill? What's his name? My Judge'm pretty sure my judge was the voice game I'll find out. Well, and Dylan's one of those guys it's fun to make, not make fun of, but fun to imitate. One of the reasons I got divorced. But uh, there's a great bit in Oliver Stone's movie The Doors about the Doors where Commic glaughlin playing ray Manzeric. That's a good movie, The Doors. It is, it is, and uh yeah, Raymond's Eric and he's sort of talking about Dylan and he does it. Dan's in the basement, Nick's and then the Men and then I'm on the pavement, Doug a man the Government. I just love doing that. I used to annoy my ex wife a little of the time and now she's happily mawhere. She was a big fan of Dylan. We saw him live and oh well yeah in the Beas because Dennis Hoppe was also in that episode. It was yeah, I mean, I'm not there was was really interesting because who played in there was like Kate Lamb played him. He's Ledger, Christian Balech Pledger gets naked in that right. Probably it was a wild guy Blanchet, Bail Ledger, Rich Gear, Yeah, Ben, We're sure, the Boys of Pennington and a young actor named Marcus Carl Franklin. He's not done much since I don't think, oh, I don't think it's gone on to do a whole lot. He's let's have a look Marcus Carl Franklin. Let's look up. He's wiki. He's most known for portraying incarnation of Bob Dylan. He calls himself Woody Guthrie in the Bob Dylan biopick. Yeah. He was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male in that film. He's now thirty one years old. We're fucking old, damn son. I don't know any ones you particularly like. It was just I'm not bare was one? Yeah? The Doors was on you brought up. Yeah. Yeah, let's not say for him, that's that's that's not Let's not say that that's not so recent anymore, is it that? The Doors? I mean, no, that was nineties, wasn't it. Now, that's like nineteen ninety's. That's like thirty five years ago, fell killing in his prime. That's the thing. I mean, I think something I've always said about The Door is that you get a great sort of double dose of nostalgia because it's an nineties film talking about the sixties and seventies, and that was thirty years ago, and this is the kind of movie that we were making in the ninety Yeah, Because I mean, you look at recent music biopicks, and even the ones that are sort of like, oh wow, the Head and this rock and wrong. I know you said let's not talk about Bohemian Rhapsody, but I mean Freddy mrcury is a guy who went after it. Not according to this movie, no terrible, not a good one. He came out I feel like he came out of that movie thinking that Freddy Merky was a prick. I think in that movie he didn't come out it was more like, yeah, I'm Freddy Mercury and gay as all hell, but really I love this goal. There was the Elton John one, which I haven't seen either. It was fine, okay, I thought the guy Taron Edgerton playing Elton John did a pretty good job, but it was sort of a bit Bohemian Rhapsody. The thing of it is, now you've got a lot of these movies, a lot of these biopics that are being produced or executive produced by the people that they're about. The Beatles ones are coming out, so you don't they Yeah, now where the Paul and Ringo. I'd like to think they probably would be got a bit of with things like that's probably better just watch the the remastered dock eyes like watch Get Back or apparently Let It Be has been remastered and you can Okay, there was like this great. I've never seen Let It Be, but I've read some exchange of dialogue front where Paul says, oh, sorry if I'm annoying you, George, and George like, you don't annoy me at all anymore. It's just like, oh, what a burn. One of my favorite Beatles songs is from Let It Be Naked, which is sort of like the b sessions. I've Let It Be and it's you know my name? Look up the number. Have you ever heard that song? I have not. It's just them fucking about for like seven minutes. You know my name? Look up the number? Worth it? Check it out? Check it out this guy. But you're asking about the musical bibe Sorry who asked this? That was from Heat that Will Be Heap. You're asking about musical bipics that I like. This isn't recent either. This is closer than twenty five years old. Movie called Velvet gold Mine. It's sort of about the rise of glam rock. They didn't have the rights to any Bowie songs or Bowie's image or anything like that. But I'm David Bowie baby, but Jonathan Reese Myers essentially plays it David Bowie like Ewan McGregor. This is in his pre Obi Wan phase. Yeah, just post Train Spotting plays like an Eggy pop type. Christian Bales in it as a reporter who was very big into the glam scene and now he's sort of following up on a bit of a murder mystery sideburns, so you always has sideburns when he plays like that kind of role. I think he did playing the younger version of It's a really good movie, and it's got a fantastic glam rock soundtrack. I like Walk the Line a lot of Johnny cash one. It's very it's pretty basic. I still have never seen it. That's what we've got on our list to watch Nickel and because Nicolas never seen it either. It's really good. Unfortunately, it does that thing that gets skewered pretty well in War Card, where you know you'll have someone saying a line that's like I'm going to turn that into a song. I mean, you have something where Reese Witherspoon playing June Carter Cash it's something like oh it burns, Burns burns like It's like, what the fuck on, man? How does that hot pizza like a fucking ring of fire? Oh? I shouldn't have had that freedom. By the way, tune into speaking of the Hill. That gag will make a lot more sense. Let's do a couple more questions Andrew JP. If you're a professional singer, what the genre would you choose to perform in? You'd be rap, right, you'd be hip hop if you if you had the ability to do it. You mean, if I had the if I had the sorry mcg d here. I think being just being a front man is like the dream for me. Yeah, just having that Freddie Mercury energy. You know where you got, where you got the ability to go. I just have so much ability and believe in myself. I ain't you a funk. I just do what I want this stage. I've always been a fan of people who like they name their band after themselves, Yeah, Homer and the Yeah, or the Steve Miller band. It's like, I'm Steve Miller and this is the band. Motherfucker. There's a great line in that movie Almost Famous, where Jason Lee is the lead singer of the band, but the guitarist played by Billy kru All the chicks love him, and he's kind of like the center of attention gets rid of like I'm the front man. You're the lead guitarist with mystique, You're meant to just be over there and be kind of Wow, that guy's kind of interesting. You shouldn't be front and center. That's a movie I need to revisit. Always been one of my favorites. Good movie. If I was a muso, I've always Yeah, I think I said actually in the last episode of this podcast, if I was a singer song writer, it would be a guy named David Gray. I like that guy, rach Beasley. If you could sing one song perfectly, what would it be, I'm going to go Behemian Rhapsody. I feel like if you could sing Behimi in Rapsy perfectly, you'd be like, everyone will love you at the party. That's requiring a lot. Yeah, you've got to do what harmony is? Yeah, everything matter of Wow. Just having Freddie Mercury is just Mama. Yeah, I'd love that. What about you? It's not necessarily a crowd favor or anything like that. I like Last Goodbye by Jeff Buckley. Yeah, I think I think because it's got sort of moody stuff, and you know it goes down a little bit, but then you've got to be able to hit some high notes a bit a little bit later on, get a bit impawer. He passed away really young. Right, Oh yeah, he died. It like maybe you got to pass out and drowned or something. He was swimming in the Mississippi one night and just drowned. Yeah, terrible. We actually had a question last week from AIRM and Andrew swan right. I said I was going to get back to it, and I am right. We mentioned it before we recorded. He said what would the sequel for the Simpsons movie be? And just before we went to air, we went what can We went to record what could it be? And guy came up with the great idea. And I really liked this of a Halloween movie for the Simpsons, So I said, you couldn't technically make this the Simpsons movie, like Simpsons sequel in the cinema, but I think this would be a great like Disney special at Halloween time or whatever. Yeah, well, a full length, a full length thing. But it's almost like twenty two short films of Springfield. Twenty two short films about Springfield. Sorry, but set a Halloween on Halloween night. I think there'd be a lot of fun to be had with that across between a Treehouse of Horror episode and a twenty two short films about Springfield episode In that Yeah, the way I thought about it, Barton Milhouse are off on some spooky Halloween adventure. Lisa is doing something. It was a it was a joke that we couldn't think of anything that Lisa to do this. So she's doing something, but we'll find something. We're gonna call it a trick or Treehouse of Horror. Yeah, And Homer and Marge are at home Hannett Candy and it turns into something like the Strangers or the Purge or something like that. It's a bit of a home invasion thing. Well, we had the home invasion with the Halloween of Horror. Remember that one, the one where it's from like season twenty six or whatever. That's one of the best post modern, post Golden Eerest episodes of all time where it's set on Halloween nights. It's actually scary. Did you review that one with me? I think so, Yeah, I'm pretty sure I did it with Mitch Morson sure where that we went back and reviees it as well. But Halloween of Horrors is an absolute it's amazing. It's a bad checking out, all right, we'll check it out. But basically it's like, it's what's the movie where three is it? Three people wearing masks coming to the house. That's the strangers, the strange, that's what it's what it is. Yeah, it's a parody of that spooky out and it's a scary episode as well. Yeah, it's really really good Halloween of Horror. But because let's say Barton Milhouse are going all over Springfield trying to get candy, you know, they run into various other residents of Springfield who are having their own sort of mini spooky adventures. Yep, so everybody gets a look in. And yeah, Halloween is the framing device. So we too spooky films about Springfield. Yeah, pretty much. So there's a great Halloween movie called Trick or Treat that I really really enjoy, and I think that's a good sort of framing device. It's got three stories that sort of intertwined and interconnect throughout and other little bits and pieces that are happening. So I shamelessly rip that off for the idea and Dando, being the big brain that he is, elaborated on it turned into what could be an excellent Simpsons movie sequel. Let's do it all right? Well, that would be our review of the Homer of Seville. I hope you guys enjoyed it.
