Club 520 - Jeff Teague on USA FALLING BEHIND Europe in basketball, Austin Rivers CALLS OUT Rich Paul
We’re back with Season 4, Episode 23 of Club 520, where Jeff Teague, DJ Wells, and B Hen discuss the United States falling behind Europe in the basketball world, and Jeff talks about how the way we develop kids is the reason for that. Jeff says AAU and high school basketball are not being run properly, and how a lot of the coaches are only in it for the money instead of actually trying to help the kids. The guys then react to Austin Rivers calling out Rich Paul for having a podcast, and says that an agent of his magnitude shouldn’t be on podcasts talking about the inner workings of NBA transactions, especially with his close relationship with Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James.

Hett while he thought that was we had to look at that thigga like, man, what the fuck? That ain't my nigga here? Never do the goofy ship like that. That's crazy. That's great, all right, we got here. If you're tapped in with the o G could be doing the tenderisms up. They found out that that is a force, that is a gentleman who owns the barbecue place that has been putting him in front more or less as a mascot. Yeah, the Clouds House, and now he's back in the forefront. Keith Lee went there to do a review to leave him a tip. You know, he always get people a lot of money and ship trying to get him to talk. He's busy right now. So apparently that gentleman was not allowed to talk to anybody. He was always with four security guards. The owner of the business kind of had everybody thinking that he was the owner of business. And now ship lit he stepped back into the spotlight. Oh yeah, I know the content now I used to watch the videos. Yeah, I know. It was a white dude that owned it. Black dudes just worked there. Yeah, but a lot it was, you know, kind of led on the fact that he was the owner of it. So they trying to get more. Yeah yeah, yeah, so didn't work out in his favor. Or no, because said he didn't see demmer domina of that. That's just like KFC pop oz damn black Ship. Yeah, she just made own that. The only one that really I mean, try bark is real obviously business own it. But yeah, yeah, I wasn't my tenderism he made inflated whole. Yeah uh you got you got come on the platform and talk to it. Bro. We will help you. That's not allowed to do anything else. You gotta get the work. You see the video they said that he was like that was like, yeah, we sent the other hone for a while, get some rest all for yeah, ain't no yeah, he trying to get about to pay to get the spotlight batman. It's nasty work man, that's crazy, nasty, nasty ship. Ain't nobody going that ship no more? Yeah, man, love and now we get all this from we've seen it. They were just cutting the back of the meat. You fall off the bomb. It wouldn't that. Yeah, some of the reviews that was just like. Was one doing their saying I tried to meet un but this motherfucker tender look like a brick. Yeah, my mom said, sitting to me talking about man that looked like a tar. Mean like a tar. He texted algorithm, get off of Instagram, bro. My dad got got off Instagram. Bro. He is d M and me stuff that just don't make no sense. He gonnad in me something today. It made me cry talking about it was a thing. I'm mad at him for this ship. I told him he takes me about the game. Don't text me because you pissed me. He reasonly lost. Some say that they're gonna text me for it. They gonna instagram me some ship before the game. Talking about the last text I sent my dad before he died, sending me. I'm like, I'm like, what the last text before my dad died? It's the last video of me and my dad before he died. Some ship like that. I'm like that. I want the hell would you send me that? Pop? I think he was saying, like, wrack up the videos of us, Bro, ain't here forever. Man, nigga. I would have punched him. You out of pocket too old, Bro, Get off the ground. Bro, you don't know how to work there. That's how ship. You've seen the gram. It's crazy for. That's being his algorithmus And I'm like, Bro. That's what. Can you just casually send me nothing like this? When we play a game, I'm like, ohs harm I looking at the page and I'm like, who is this. I'm like, is that my dad? It's my dad. I'm like, oh, that's my grandpa on the picture. Let me open this ship. I'm like, what the fuck is this? Sad ship? I'm tired of this, nigga. Man, I'm my calming day. Don't send me nothing. Just stick to the headphones, because watch your story. Man. Our parents getting older, it's a lyricis so they're trying to be adapted to like the social media, even with YouTube like my parents watching this. I'm like, why are y'all watching this show? My daddy's being. Take time at five in the morning. No bullshit. I woke up at eleven. I've seen a d M for my day five from five in the morning. I said, he ain't sending you like basketball clip store, man, He's sending all the fake now. I said, they're gonna scam me. They gonna get him. They gonna get him. Pop's gonna Pop's gonna call me one day. I donated two hundred thousands. They're gonna get it. They gonna get He sent me videos and a I like dogs jumping out the screen fighting humans. I'm like, have y'all seen the trade? Young a y'all video? And Welcome to Washington? Crazy insane, that's kind of sh my dad. The one with Shannon Shark getting out the truck, bro. The one with Rick Ross dancing in front of I said, Rick Ross has never moved like that. He played football is wicked something my dad. Don't answer no them calls on your phone. Please, He's gonna be like pop media training. Yeah, y'all disrespecting my boy. This is not how he came to the team. Hey, say crazy what they got going on? Man, don't like my. Though. They made a nigga six for it. You know who that is? For real? That's really Jared McCain. No, no cap, that's really a video of Jared McCain's dancing. Jemma Ka TikTok is for real, that's dancing for Yeah, he's a choreographer in the situation, Jared. McCain McCain, it's really this like that like that. Yeah, Ja TikTok is crazy. He dances like that. That was somebody like he'd be danced like this. Yeah, his TikTok is a little different. Yeah, cus gonnet like little snippets for he really be getting into that, getting his bag. Jared McCain definitely be throwing ass. I'm for real, I ain't trying to be funny. But if you target, yeah, he go crazy. That's that's crazy. Mark, We appreciate you. Jeremy Pain, he's on the needle, like he threads that needle for sure. So yeah, bro, because if you if you go that way, bro, swing that way, Bro, keep being great. They just. They just bum my nigga down to the G League too. Yeah, man, ship against the Finns. That's my boy. That's just over there, excuse me, and feel like they got a lot of wings over there. Boy, Yeah, that was on that bro. I'm not camping, y'all. Y'all be trying doing this is the problem people always now. That were man, what is that? Now that we at this stop stop now that we at this level, people always say be here, you gotta stop with Michael saying you go too far. It's footage of these people. It's for you to see. I ain't just talking really dancing like that. Oh god, yeah, he's something on the choreography for the Jeffy ca Man. That's him and his drill though, right. No nasty. Respect. I told y'all girl. Like that man his girlfriend man god fried Man. Can we go to Austin Rivers fleas my guy? Austin Rivers was talking about rich Pad having a pod. This is absolutely I'm just saying to Austin Rivers commentating in this like podcast. Basketball, Rivers, you're talking real ship, sir. He's got to stop. He's got to stop that. If you're gonna first off, why do you have a podcast anyway? I don't stand it. I don't I don't get it. I got nothing against Rich. I don't understand why you have a podcast from well his argument would be that players have podcasts. You're not playing player. I don't know any other agents who are sitting there on the mic talking. Plus, everything you say is going to be a representation of Lebron, even if you don't feel the way now you got Lebron have. To come out and be like, hey, Rich, pause his own opinion. I don't know. I don't affiliate with that. Just because he's saying they want to get off freeze, I mean, I want to get off free. Shouldn't have to be a conversation. That's weird, Bro, Why do you have a podcast? Rich? You are an agent, meaning you're supposed to be the background running all the other stuff. You coming out at the forefront and giving your opinions on the game, like saying this stuff. It doesn't it doesn't work. Are there any other sports that agents that have big podcasts? Right now? An NBA zero zero? I just don't understand it. I don't get it, and you. I really stop to hear you, Hey, Rich, Paul has always been a part in here is listen. He's the first in this space. I imagine there will be able the agents who follow in this space at this point too. But that's real is from an athlete's perspective. Would you want to try to have a podcast? No, I mean, I wouldn't care. I mean, but the conversation gotta be different. Like if you're talking about my team, you're talking about players need to be traded. If you go in there and just giving game to young men, that's like, Yo, there's things you should be looking for. This is what you shouldn't be going this your agents shouldn't be getting for. Since you begin to whatever, you're just giving out game every day. If you're giving out game and you're just talking about game when it comes to the navigating the world, the business, when it comes to agencies and all this stuff in the world of basketball, you're giving out that kind of game. But when you start talking about teams and what people need to do, what teams should do, and blah blah blah, and you got players on all these teams, yeah, I think you out of pocket. I mean, he rich, so obviously he's not like an agent. Most fire agents play the background, like Mark Bodistein. You probably know what he looked like. That's a fact, y'all. He's probably he's literally the best agent, like all his clients got paid. I mean, Rich is a good agent, but Mark Bodistein is a fire agent. He wouldn't know what he looked like. He played the background. He does his job, he gets his money, gets his players' money. He do what he's supposed to, and that's what people will want. Obviously, Rich hang with Lebron. They all are show men, right, That's what makes them special. Gon know when they walk in the building. But in this instance, it just don't fit because now your biggest client, Lebron James, you put him in a situation where he got to speak to the media about something that he don't even want to talk about. Yeah, he forty two years old, forty whatever old Lebron is and he dealing with talking about a twenty seven year old and what they should trade him or not. And he on his way out, profile player. Yeah, and he on his way out. So you're making a locker room uncomfortable. And if I was to see Rich, I was Austin Reeves, I'll just look at him like I'll feel a way, you know what I mean, Like I get it. You want your people here, Like I don't know who he said he should trade for. I want a rich clients, you know, I don't know. But it's just like damn nigga, like what you doing loud facts. I think the part by as a response Rich, he was just like He's like, yeah, you're right, agent podcast, because when I'm out here podcast, Paul, That's why I fuck with it. It is different. I could see both sides of it as well. I just don't think. I mean, I ain't hate no Rich, do what you want, Bro. You didn't bron on. His way out, you know what I mean, dude, but you got to understand that side of it though. He got to understand that and British human And I don't know. I don't think he might. He ain't gonna take it that. I just I just want to talk about other people, like if I want to speak on my clients, and I'm saying I got Anthony Davis, I'm like Anthony Davis man, he's a good player. Like I know the situation right now. I would talk about it in a friendly way, but not to affect a d in Dallas or wherever he could be traded to, like somebody would say you think any David should get traded. I wouldn't respond. I mean, he he gonna do it a d do when he on the court, he's the best player on the court. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. Like if we get him he in a place where they're trying to win, you know, he's a win that type player. Or even if he is talking about people that's not his client, like kind of celebrate them. Yeah, almost like as Reeds is a good player, Like what should Lakers do? I would be like, shit, I don't know, I don't they kind of they got I. Know, I would literally be like they got a fire GM. You know, that's what they get paid for to build a team around them. But a max player that's always just always compliment people. And the sad part is is that all these years it's always been Lebron, Jim some of the main mans A speaking your nigga, yeah means dropping that Lebron making a book. So you know, y'all spoke. Y'all spoke about this before. Even if y'all didn't the world feel, yeah, the world the trip. Is not matter anymore. And Brian putting all them Instagram posts and niggas leaving within two weeks. When he started out brandon Ingram. Was out of there as soon as he started showing love. Got to shout out got him out of there. So that's that's I understand it from that perspective when alsin just speaking on that. Yeah, man, this podcast is only growing man, trail Blazer, But I love get it back. Actually like them together. Thanks is the reason why I started watching box boxing. Knowledge is through the roof. Yeah, Max Kell him is a hell of a broadcaster, especially in that box more. He's that more for sure, Man Rich shaking ship up, Man, I love it. I love the podcasts. I like road Tripping, Kendrick Perkins, Channing Fry, jameson. Yeah, and I don't mean to forget the lady's name. Yeah, shout out to them. But I like they They remind me of us just but like you know, we talk about anything. They talk about basketball more. But they say some ship that I'd be like, that's a ship. I would have said, Channing Fry, low key hilarious, fraud, bro. We would have put a couple more motherfuckers in there than them. But yeah, I with it. They be saying some funny ship. Yeah they well, yeah, they blended well with Kendrick. He bring the other side because Kendrick getting his ship off Richard rich he is a jerk, you know, all right? Oh for sure and be a while for a while. So they've been doing that was one of the first NBA podcasts. I would say, didn't they like Jenney Fron Lebron? They had Lebron and them. Yeah, that was my first time washing It was an episode Give with the Rings. We're pretty good too. Yeah, Kendrick getting his ship off, Yeah that is funny, man shouts to everybody. Podcast rich Paul, he sucking it up. Man, love to see it, for sure. Many we might be doing the Olympics right, Oh yeah, podcast Olympics. We're going road tripping in this too. No, hell no, I ain't guard Channing. I bust Kendrick Perkins. They put Kendrick Perkins. Are y'all talking about the Olympics with the Rings or like the ghetto olympicsdcast podcast. Be here, be here. That's a mess up. Kendrick Perkins the Olympics with the Rings? Right, the podcast Olympics? Oh, okay, Podcast Olympics. Okay, it's something else. Have you ever seen the video? This is random When Lil Wayne went, he performed at the the corn Star Awards. Oh man, you gotta see you, bro. He performed at the Cornwards the Core Core my bad that everything about that. Yeah, it's crazy. He was crazy. You know. My time, I was kind of wild because I followed. I follow old boy. No, no, no, my boy. They'd be like, oh my god, she was the top my nigga. So little Way popped up and he was just performing at uh the corn Store. I'm scared because I'd be scared. Yeah, yeah, playing playing about playing, Oh my god, Luise, just pull it together. Five to baby. Yeah, we did have Mojo Brooks, funny as hell. Barbie Glass. Yeah, she ain't doing spots for me somewhere she don't. She don't focus no more. Man, get a run off. This is just buffoonery. Shouts a little way, man. Shouts a little one. It was one of the funniest all right. It just popped up on my ship, my girl from w W No. But anyway, real horse and man, those are real stars, man, real stars. Good caddy, Oh my god, thank you, look at her, thank you? O bro. Oh my god, thank god, ladies and gentlemen, one time, all these beautiful ladies understand in the world, all take us tonight, y'all amazing one time, ABN. I would love to see the contract of that performance. What was included. Is trash Bro? What that had to be the greatest night in his life? No, Bro, Bro, look at his stage. Bro, it's weak. It's mid that's that's the Vogue. Seven up there, because he said my law averages. Na I ain't ask me. I ain't seen no Vogue up there. No, that's me. That's worse than the Vogue. Bro. That's south Side. That's Manual High School. Oh lord cat, that's Premium cuitar. So if that was a conference, be here, which conference would that be? I don't know, Bro, Sun built. The o BC Big East. That's the Bispect. That's not the Big East. Because they all demons. They are top TI way, they're at the awards. They're all elite. Forwards. Those are feelings. So c fillers. These are all award winners because somebody in the league, somebody is m d P. No way, somebody led their conference. That's crazy. Oh no, no, no, oh no. You see a player in Europe. That is crazy. Everybody tell you differents. I mean, I don't even know. I'm just thinking, like that's great, like that ship you do, like not to say he doing anything for money. I don't know, Lil Wayne, but that was a random probably in his element though he got a bag toge. I'm saying I pay him one hundred thousand, two hundred thousand dollars to do that. But that's like, would y'all turn that down? Like I remember we were having a conversation about like every all money ain't good money, but like would you performing that? If you If I'm a situation, I'm doing it one thousand percent for sure. I'll performed there, like a thousand performed there. Now. Yeah, now we gotta do a live pod. Was you live pot there? Yes? I'm all for the vibe the environment of the vibes, right, I'm all for the vibes like in the environment. I'm cool with that. So I'm going to try we won't try to interview the. I want to talk to all of them. You might am I never gonna sit that with for that? What is the likelihood of that? I don't know. If I I probably wouldn't. Oh man, I would I'll probably turn out. That would be a Patreon exclusive. Oh it has to be four hundred thousand. You ain't gonna sit down. Oh two one hundred thousand. Oh bro, I know you're getting some money, bro, but they no sign a hundred bands to talk to. I want to talk to all of them. I'll do a whole live show. Yeah, I'm cool with that. You heard the vibes, man, I'm saying, like, that's the bob. Is that that air spirits that the end is insane? Now that makes everything a little wicked. Now, Oh, look, because he's still got the same fit it off. I'm not a fan, man. Yeah, it's like it ain't dark enough for me. We got a phone. I always love him, one of them to sell these niggas. Boy, these a little too hey, like. Like, man, I know you, I know you ain't Barby Man, but keep throwing you know shot we lost man, my boy. While we're here. I want to tell you. I'll talk about this brief on the internet. But I thought this was a hilarious shout to the door dash. You know, we tapped in this family for sure. The other day I was leaving here, be here, you saw me. I was waiting for my food to rops, I could go home. Homie pulls up right he first thing farts. The dog is in the back seat with his head out the window. Red flag as this is why the fu do you have your pet with you while you doing for my food? Cuz get out the passenger side and a hoodie in pajamas while his lady's driving, and I peek and I see there as a car seat. This nigga deliver from my food with his entire family and his pet. Why you hustle though, let's say job. The food came out of the. Passengers front seat. I don't think there's any word that you could put any fight off there, so I believe it. This nigga had his food on his lap and headed it to me, so it was immediately recycled. But the niggas on the internet was just like, why you didn't need it? I was a little surprised. I had his nuts on your food, but it was in a box. Nigga, what the ate a fraud? First of all, anybody who go outside and you don't care about your life. Damn if you said whole Pike high school kids dress code, Why are you outside of jamas. If I'm trying to get some shit together in my car and I put your food right. Here, it ain't on my thrus. Bro, Literally, there is at no point I want any of your fucking body parts near my food. It's your hands hand. Yeah, nigga's not being realistic now, Bro, what you mean that's not realistic? DJ? Because if somebody sit their food on your like, shit your food on their lap, to do something real quick, bro, and just grab your food and bring it to you. That ain't crazy. Bro. Here's the problem, behin. He wasn't driving, so that was like he didn't put it in the seat. The nigga had it on. Here you go, bro, ifro I had on the four even worst you put my fucking food on the floor. I mean it's in the car. Bro. We we we've enough door dash. If you think you're you think come here super safe every time? I agree. But I didn't see that dog hanging out the back. If you think that popa the other dayn't, I wouldn't kicked around. They could probably kicked your shod. Nigga probably dropped that bus. Nigga and bring your food his family, the little kids right back doing this mock bag somebody. She said, you want to getting that best expected. Ain't too strict, manbody, I'm sorry, ship that happened to you. Totally understand the motherfucker wife they nose and many handed. It to me. That was I want this ship because I won't motherfucker right away. That was nastiest. He ain't knocking nobody hustle, but the door dash couples. You're gonna get somebody fired on whoever that door dash like I should have reported her. She was too damn nasty. She ain't think because you know I'd be sitting in the car. Why for my likee, let me see how this motherfucker going. Make sure if I want to she said, hm, I said the fun She said, here you go, nigga, nigga. I held the bitch like man, this is recycled and this yo'll tell me take a picture. I said, no, it's bysically I'm about to help. You know I got the help. He just watching. A picture. You trying to take a picture of me. I was crying to a picture of me. He did already said the bag that hould on, bro, he's weird. Oh man, that you love y'all? Man, we ain't gonna never start using y'all, man, But these people will be wildly sometimes. Man, we just said our testimonies. Man should be wicked. I was hungering hell to It hurt me to have to get rid of that food. Bro broke my heart, all right, man, Moving on basketball, have you seen t that they are moving it's her and the tournaments started in Texas this year that they're going to go by age group instead of class because they said the reclass stuff is doing a little too much. They're going to go to age group of certain places age based. Okay, yeah, I'm wrong with that, but shout today. But West he had a fire video on. It's like seven as long. We just go to the beginning of it. But he talks some real shit about basketball. Man. I think a lot of people to hear this. I can give you a gist of it if you an't want to hear him. He talked for a long time. He basically was just saying that, like the people who run AAU, it's an organization as an organization. So he's like, oh, when we was growing up, we had real coaches who had real jobs, real life parents. They was doing it all for the love. They wanted doing it for no money or nothing, and they was helping you build your character bill being a man, and then also teaching you the game of basketball. He's like, now it's a money grap Like you got a bunch of niggas who didn't make it, but they like, I see something in this kid. I'll start a team for this kid, give him a little bread, you know, street shit. And they not learning the game, the teaching them the game. That's why we kind of behind. It comes to like the European game, and it's true because of like being around the game, like playing basketball my whole entire lif. I started playing basketball when I was four. I finished playing basketball when I was thirty three. Yeah goddamn yeah. So my whole entire life was based off basketball. I did it every day. That's all I knew. I learned the game from my dad, who was a college basketball player. Played at Missouri and Boston University, so he was a high level basketball player. All my brothers and sisters played basketball everything, So I learned the game differently than most people when my dad was in my life. So you weren't able to like finesse me or anything. You couldn't Like, if I was with a coach, my dad knew the game better than the coach, So the coachill tell me something. My dad would be like, listen to the coach. When we got home, he'd be like, well, your coach are trying to tell you this way, which is not wrong, but for you to be better, you need to do it this way. And I'm not going against your coach, but you just needed to. He would always teach me the game. Yeah, now parents don't know the game. We're the parents, all right. It's the fact a lot of us, not include myself, but a lot of us didn't hoop facts. And if we did, of our kids who we didn't make it far enough. But we want our kids to go far. We're living through our kids. So whatever we think is right, we're gonna go with. And now it's so much money, whoever giving the most money, we're gonna go with. And a lot of people are in single parent homes. It's tough. It's single parent homes. Mom got them. So men kind of prey on that like. AAU people or I shouldn't even say AU just travel team people. Yeah, they find a kid that got a little talent some size or fast or whatever, and they see something in them like, hey, shit, I can get a fifty thousand dollars donation from Adidas because this kid is okay, I'm gonna start a team. Parents don't even know that this dude just got fifty thousand dollars for a team based off of this one kid. He ain't gonna tell them. I'm just gonna give you a little bread. I'm make sure your kid got enough ship giving. You know, I'm spending five thousand on this kid, but I made fifty. It's forty five. Come with me. I pay for a couple of tournaments. That's real ship, and that's been generous. A lot of times they'll be like, all right, kids, don't even call it because in all the bullshit, y'a. Really, you know you're getting the tournaments free if you got oh yeah, the premiere bro. So I mean it's a money and people not learning basketball. And then when you get kids, like being a high school coach, when you actually get the kids, you start seeing how much they don't know basketball or how much they haven't been taught, and then people get mad at you. Because it's like why they don't know this and it's like, well, I know this ship when I was in second grade. From example, I get example. We run a flex offense. Flex is the easiest thing in the world. Everybody in play basketball no flex. We had kids on our team that never ran flex. I'm like, you've been playing basketball for you're seventeen, you've least been playing basketball for ten years. Yeah, and you've never seen flex. You never just screened down, pop out and cross screen. That's tough. You never jumped like. They didn't know how to jump to the ball. The kids don't know how to go off the shoulder on the screen screen. I'm like, seven defense, your man passed the ball, you jumped to the ball to being helped. I'm like, they've never done that before. And I'm like that's crazy. And as a high school coach or varsity high school coach, you're teaching that and it's like, wow, our kids are so far behind, and then you wonder why SGA and all these kids are winning, like and it's just looking crazy, like yeah, we literally got a really thing hard, Like who has a chance as American can win the MVP. We gotta like we gotta really sit here and think like ever got a shot. Yeah, outside of JT it was like, boy, now it's like Jaylen Brown this year, were like Jaylen Brown, but Luca performing so well. We like. SGA. It ain't even closed Jamal Murray all these it's just. Yeah, ain't nobody really teas the game? No Moring. It's kind of hard for kids to find that. I don't know that program to really go to. Cause trust, kids don't want to be taught to game. Parents don't want to be taught to game. Parents want to be given the easy map to get to the money. Yeah, because they feel like they go to work already all day. Yeah, like what's the easiest role to get my son to a million dollars? That's the role we about to take. And at all the time, that's cool, get the money, but you don't never get better, yeah, and it becomes a dead end. Yeah. And then it's like people like me who think the game outside the game, like I'd be like, wow, I just look at kids and I'll be like, wow, you really, Like I really had kids that I worked with or I've been on my team or I've helped or trained or whatever that will legit say like I'm better than you. And be like dead ass serious and you look at I'll be looking at I'll be like like you for real, like I'm better than you. I'll be like, no, I mean that ship like what you're like legit like how like tape that nigga? Yeah, like show me your clips niggas. But like that don't be good at all. Like I'll be like you never nigga, Yeah, I like you for really. I'm like you never even scored like twenty points like you serious, Like okay, you don't got a real bro. I'm like, but like they will seriously be like you would like even like on our team now I had It's something. I was sad like you were sad in the league. I was looking at them like yo, like you know you're not gonna make to the NBA, like for real, like you know you're not going to the NBA right They like what you ain't gonna touch? Like one kid told me I can get paid right now. I said, I mean they pay anybody now, I mean everybody gets paid. That's fine. I was like he's just giving it that. Yeah. I was like that's cool. You know you're not going to the NBA right. Mentality is shot though, bro, but it ain't nobody start. You know, you're they're not hooping outside, and ain't nobody really in these gyms no more. No, they lie to them. Everybody gets like. That's the sad part about it is you can have one person telling you to real, but it's so many people that's gonna call you agree with the dumb ship for whatever selfish reasons, just lied to them and then when you by the way, they'd be like, oh, well. He had so he could have made it a niggas. It's sad. That's what they're gonna say after they get to that point, and then you know what we're gonna do, sit here and be like, damn I had them boy, that nigga. Damn boy telling kids the truth. I never lie of kids. I ain't lying. I've never lied to a kid when it comes to basketball, and I don't lie. Tell him like, you had a good game. I know you asked played, It's all right because you got to keep the vibes. But I never I would never lie and tell you like. Hey, because once they lead the next bro, it's over with. Yeah. I would never lie to him, be like, yo, you got potentially the NBA player. I won't I won't lie to you because I know what it takes and if you're not putting that much work, I've seen I've seen him. It was an Instagram stat but they was like Steph Curry shot five hundred jumpers a day when he was young. Whatever it was. It might not be true, but somebody just threw it out there and they was like it came out to like three million shots. He was like, for his life, he hit how mean threes? He hit three thousand whatever, the three thousand threes. But to shoot five million shots to make three thousand, you cald just think about how much work you put in just to make three thousand if you shoot that million, that many shots, Yeah, bro, like just to get three that. If I shot a million shots to make through that, I'll be like, nigga, I'm a fool. I will feel not saying like I would do that, but like kids couldn't even fathom that, Like, yeah, I gotta go shoot a million shots. To make it. Just why I got to shoot a million shots to make three thousand? And you know what, I'll pick you back on top of to you. They had a highlight of going on. They were talking about pick random role players and see how goo they were in high school. Nigga tim hardvi ever thirty one, like some of the randomst people. They averaging thirty forty hollar sex and like people are role players that you may not think the highest up they pay. I'm like, bro, it's the best fucking girlly man. When I came away for this. Nigga averaged thirty eight points in high school. I was. I was a freshman at wake Ford. I came in. They said, Ag the best scorer in here. That's aid who AG? I ain't know the nigga he was a sophomore. I'm a freshman. They like Anthony girl, he get buckets he get, but he averaged thirty eight in high school like dann On thirty eight. Mind you, I was the best bucket geter, but he avere thirty eight. I'm like Nigga thirty yeah, Like that's crazy. Like they show Luke Norsher, Bro, he averaged forty in high school. Come on, Bro, like brod the Ohio record. Come on, Bro, Like it's different. Bro like his levels. Bro. I'm like only average. I think my senior average like twenty four, twenty three, twenty four obviously Indiana, you know, fucking hold the ball shit. But like him averaging that many points, and he was a bucket, that's a fact. I ain't gonna lie. Ag got buckets. But he'd be like yeah. And Austin Rivers, nigga, come on, Bro was a freak of nature. Him and was the best pgs and class. Bro. Austin Rivers was the first step guy. He was a killer. Come on mana pap Beverly ever thirty in high school. Come on, bro, play for guards and it was bad football, especially like ref of days. You would see these these people who would start these programs quote unquote and teams and be like, y'all don't give a funk about these kids. It's a money grab. Bro. Wow, this ship I ever heard from a kids go to the time and look at the coaches. Why should I heard from a kid? A parent? The kid told me it was going to prep school whenever was like fifth grade, I'm going to prep school. Out like, all good, that's what's up. I'm not hating go to prep school, niggas. Yeah, And then another one was told me like, yeah, we're working right now to get into ot. Oh my god. The disappointment, like I love OT people that over there. Oh no, that's the family, my guy, Like. Should we have some other milestones before we get there? That's the first don't know how to, like hoop make an advantage when they see, oh this is for real, it ain't even that. That's why they and this is no shot at OT. I actually like OT and all the people that work there, but it's like a lot of those guys they get stars, but a lot of them don't develop to be really good college players. It's a rare like you might get like two or three that come really good college players, because yeah, a lot of them is like hype, you know what I mean, like oh he can jump out, he can do this, he can do that and all that, and then when they get to college, they haven't developed the skill set to be really good college players. And it's not a no shot at OT. It's just the truth. And like you said, we got some kids in college obviously some successfuls as well, but it's like y'all out there to really do what OT is for us to train prepare for the next situation. You go in there and think is hype and they find out it's some dogs in there. That's why you see so many people go there and realize, oh, I need to figure some shit off. I really get to Yeah, and they and it's made for a serious basketball player, yep. Like if you like, yeah, like my whole dream is made to the NBA. But I'm so dedicated I'm about to put it because it's it's a workout, that's all it is. You're there to work out like the game. You play the same teams over nough so you're gonna know the players, blah blah blah. But it's there to train. You get to train with professionals NBA. You're getting this mindset to prepare myself for the next level. And a lot of kids that ain't what they want to do, Like kids don't want to work out every day, Like playing basketball was something that we wanted to. Do like right now. And this is dead ass serious, Like we have probably one of the craziest coaching staff you can ever have, that's a fact. At every level we had somebody who was very successful at that level, from the D two, JUCO, NBA whatever, overseas, we got somebody who were successful out there, and that was the whole point of really our staff, how we built it? You think we work it is out on the daily like daily basis, dude, they asked us questions. Yeah, that's that's never a foreign concepts of this age when we saw like oh heow the real like it's probably one kid that probably ever hit me. It's two kids that hit me the whole time and coach for three years and it's two kids that ever wrote text me and was like get okay three and was like can we work out? Mayu? We done had sixty kids? Yeah yeah, and it's been three to ever ask me, can we work out? Can we do this? That's it. It was funny because we was talking about this. He was just like with them playing so many AU games, like even high school, they don't even see the same magnitude of It's just like they played so many games that no game feels special like them high school games. I mean, obviously it's a different time period, but like representing your community, your area, that ship been something Friday night, who's you going to get some like that ship meant something. I don't mean nothing. Niggas to lose the post real like nobody in particular, but it's like it's just it's just different time. Pers niggas will lose. They have two points on God, you said youst it's going on. Parents tell me today, a parent, a parent, Yeah, that's fact. Parents told me, like we had a great atmosphere at one of our games. And a parent told me was like, our kids should be used to this. They did this in AU and I was like. Nah, like they're not going again. Like when you go to an AAU game, nobody's cheering for nobody, Like if you got the parents, the ten parents cheering for whoever that team is, and the other ten parents cheering for that team, but everybody else watching the game, they just watching the game. They ain't got nothing invested in it. And I was like a high school game, you got ten parents and you got fifteen hundred people against you, Like it ain't the same because they like, I don't know why they nervous they played in this fun of crowd. I'm like, they never played where everybody is booing you when you're shooting a free throw. I'm like, no, you can't replicate that only in you know what I mean? Yeah, And I'm like AAU is not ship And I'm not trying to hate on AAU but I'm like, nobody prepares AAU. I used to coach AAU. I've never did a scout report. I never said this guy tendency is to go left. Like obviously I was a basketball player, so after the first minute, I can figure out where somebody like to go. I'm like, man, he drive right. Man, he a ald right hand driver. Cook see him left. But we didn't go in and say number eleven. He's a knockdown shooter. Run him off the line. Make sure that you've done that. He's won two dribbles left. But after that he's picking it up. Man, we can trap him off the picking round. I didn't do all that. Nobody does that. Only Rondo, because you know, why wait to lose? You got a game in forty five minutes. Yeah, Rondo, that's because he's a basketball crazy man, and he really invested in that, and not a lot of people's invested in that. And that's like, that's what makes AAU to me, like kind of joke, like when somebody tell me, hey, average twenty five, they got average thirty a game. Everybody can get their sh off. Yeah, come on, man, it benefits. It benefits some kids too, though. It's just some kids have better, better runs to ad you the actual school ball. Of course most people get nowadays you probably just get but scholarships off a you in high school. That's what I got scholarships off of. I mean, people go see summer ball because they know you might be playing with some sad people in high school. Might playing with cold football players. No shade of Bobby. But like. A couple of niggas out Bobby not gonna go play basketball for real. So college coaches know that. But usually a everybody out here is about to be playing trying to play college basketball, so they feel like the level is higher. But when I'm telling you, nobody's invested that much like the AU coaches. Bro, they on the road, they going to tournaments one weekend, like y'all, they leaving bringing their kids on me. You coach, he was going to the club, Like that's true. The kids asleep, hopefully they sleep. Ship. They ain't ship. I don't I in Vegas. I don't spend my money come out here. I'm had a good time too. Yeah, come on, money caught up in this ship now though, So you was kind of like gonna do you and then We're going to prep in fact, niggas don't really see no benefit in public school. They don't. Man, especially if you're playing with some bums. You just you ain't. But they he is an automatic nigga. I'm rings you probably gonna go work at Kroger. Nigga and low kids. True, but. You I ain't a lot of reason. Public school helped me so much because it made me develop my game. Like let's just say, if I'm playing with lesser people. But because Indiana, like you've seen tonight, the talent is all spread around like everybody, even if you not, like most of our people are like under recruited because we're from Indiana and a lot of us want to play on the same AU teams. We just got like a hating like we just hate each other Indiana. For some reason, we just got like a hating thing, like nobody likes somebody whatever. I don't know why, but it's just us. Yeah, it's just like we don't rock with people just because I still feel it, like I just don't like people just I don't even know why. I just be like I don't like that nigga, Like why you don't like him? I don't know, from like. Middle school or some ship they be like he's playing team mightn't rock with you and some ship like that, And it's just that's what Indiana. But like if you really look at it, you get the best basketball because it's challenged. Like nobody here respects anybody at all. So like if you if you ring the top ten in the world, you're still sad. If you play here Indiana, the team going against you, they gonna call you sad. You weak as hell. Nobody scared, like nobody care. Like that's just Indiana. Like Eric Gordon was another one player, number two player in the country. We gave no fuck, not at all, Like nobody cared. We like they can't go outside, like shout to eg but like we like the nigga daddy only let. The him go outside. That nigga, you know what I mean, Like he can't go to no party. Niggas off. That's how we felt. He getting disraving good parents on my life though, But that's how we feel, you know, That's how we felt. We having a party answer the game. Nigga can't even go like he's off. And this nigga the best player in the world here and he showed it. He killed but we ain't. We wasn't scared of him. Nigga ain't ship. But that's Indiana. So you recommend kids just to stay where you're at. Work on your game whatever. I think playing with people that wasn't as good and I had to make them better made me better because I learned how to do everything, Like if I can make my team a winner, and we're not supposed to be winners, like we're supposed to be. Oh, he ain't got nobody going you want his team, it's just him, and all of a sudden we winning like a motherfucker. I feel like I did mon That translates better when you go to college. Yes, because if I know how to do everything, I can get on the court. If I'm only good at one thing, if I go to a school with a bunch of talented people, and usually it's how it works in the NBA, and when you play with a whole bunch of talented people, you know how to do one thing. So if they designate you like, hey, you're gonna be our anchor, you shot block and get rebounds, or if you are shooter, you're gonna run the lanes and you're gonna. Shoot threes, right, and you in high school doing this. So when you get to college, the only role you gonna knows this role. So when you get to college and they say, hey, we need a lockdown defender who need a rebound and do this, and you ain't never been in that position where I gotta go rebound, push the ball, do all type of shit that I've never done before. And your college coach wants you to play that role and you ain't never did it in your life. You Well, in high school, all I did was run the lane and shoot threes and we played two three and. We did well. Nigga, you ain't gonna play like our high school. We had to do everything my senior year. You had to guard, you had to block out, you had to rebound, you had to push the ball. You had to be on top of the press. You had to be the back of the press. Nigga, if you ain't get a rebound, we lose the game. Cause, nigga, you want of the taller guys. You know, shit like that. So when I got to wait for it, they like I wasn't playing. It was like, whoever gonna pick up the ball full court? Well, shit, that's what we had to do. When I was in high school, I had to pick up full court. I can do that shit, who can score? Y'all need me to score? Oh I did that in high school. But you gotta be able to rebound and. Still the acting nigga. But it's all the shit I had to do because our team sucked. And now what I'm saying, our team really sucked, but we didn't have a bunch of five star niggas where I could be like, I ain't ever did that shit before. And you talked about this before. You look at the Steph Curry, look at the Damian Lillard's, those guys t J. Mccumbs who were at Comming Majors, who got triple team, double team, it still had to prevail. Now I'm seeing Icel coverages. Now I look like a star. I like a god. Bro, Yeah, you guard me one on one, I look crazy like. That's why that's why I'm so advocate for that, because prep schools are you played with a whole bunch of time people and make the job easy. That's why I used to praise Gilbert A Rings how he did his son. He had to do everything. Yeah, his look like he had made it. But that was crazy. No, but it's the truth. Now his son when he go to college, and even though he's been hurt, he can adapt to any situation. Hey, I forgot his name, Elijah. Yeah, Like we might need to play you at the four. Yeah, but ship, I used to get twelve rebounds a game. Yeah, I get the bors. Yeah, I go get the boards. Play you at the four, man, you can be the We're gonna play at the four. You're gonna be the point foward. But you got a rebound. Oh, ship, I ain't the ship to me. I used to rebound in this situation. Now he coming back from rehab, getting me the steps back. I'm getting ice, so courage to get in my game now. Man, I used to play against four niggas. It's one person guard me. And the most important part about this is for everybody, Like, at some point, you can't run from a niversity. At some point you go you team up with everybody. At some point you have to go figure this out yourself. And it's a life skill. Bro There'll work. Gonna show bro. At some point, you can only hide for so long. It's a fact broke can only have. So I don't give a fuck. How many good talented people. You can hide all the way to the NBA. Then you know what's gonna happen. You're gonna be out the league. Yeah in two years, and you know what music No, and it's gonna be worth It's gonna be the worst feeling in the world. I tell kids all the time not to say it this way. It's easy to get to the league. You can, but next show way all the way to the league. You can sell yourself to the league. The potential your way all the way to the league. But once you get there, once you get you could potential your way all the way to the league. Oh my god, we get them here by byh blah, he going. That shit will be two years. Yeah, and you we think about how many people that got drafted in two years, Like, think about it. The kids just got drafted and went to Baylor and got drafted again and went back to Like think about that kid. Think about that. A kid got start over. Think about he got wild restart, he got drafted thirty first overall and went to Baylor. Control all deleted it because guess what, he just wasn't ready. Because if you was ready be. An NBA being second contract, he being in the league. I Niga sid They said he's ass. He said, I gotta figure out another way. Nigga went to Baylor that thought. I got something better. I got something brewing. Hey, listen, parents may your kids. They gotta figured out some point you can't life. At some point you gotta put up me. To go on a round like that. Damn, I'd have made this a real No, you're talking real shit. Hear this ship just be bothering me. Bro. That' shit just weird. Man. We got to be parents living through kids. Man, Let these kids grow up and be great, because you are not helping them by hoting them at all. You're teaching them how to run. Yeah, motherfuckers be like sitting out games. I've never seen ship this. Ship that I be seeing now, Like motherfucker sit out AAU games because they're playing certain people. Or like I ain't going to sit on the summer game. Ducking smoke mo. Man, motherfuckers do some crazy shit. That's crazy. It was a kid. Listen, I'm here now because y'all have me drinking. We lost some shitty. Look, we had a kid not on our team, but two years ago I watched the kid. It was a live period, which I mean college coaches can come watch you play. And he said he went on a vacation with his family. Right, hell of schools was coming to watch this kid play. He went on a vacation and like me, we played them. M hm, we played his team. The kid didn't play, and he was talking like, I ain't going, I ain't playing, like I got my offers already, like I ain't tripping like y'all. I'm gonna let my teammates play. They need it, not me. I've never been that kind of nigga. So I'm like I told our kids. I'm like, he won't think y'all good enough to play again, you know what I mean. I'm trying to motivate him. I'm like, Yo, we should dog these guys, blah blah blah. But I was like, I told his mom, we're at one of your events. I was like, Yo, he's not gonna make it. I was like, y'all feeding him bullshit? And she was like what that means. I'm like, y'all feeding him bullshit? He think he like bigger than he is. Mind you, all them offers left, Well, it was time to sign? What's time to sign? Man? He was from Power fives and no disrespect to where he went, but it wasn't Power five for whatever it is now. But I had told his mama to her face like that. Ain't that ain't the moved to look like whatever y'all think y'all got bruin, It ain't really bruin. He not liked that and it ain't no shade. But I'm telling you, I've seen people his size and do things that he can't do. And that ship wasn't left real quick. And yeah, my fault. Ya. Now you're good, bro. You're speaking. People need to hear. Please take advantage of opportunities before they are gone. And I ain't nobody. I'm just a nigga over here drinking. A little whatever that was that was needed on God, I be. Tired of niggas. Hey, matter of fact, I'm done. I'm never talking about you, sad niggas. I'm just get how you live. Man. Before we get out of here, be here telling people that grabs some merchant.
