Now, I like David Dennis Junior a lot in terms of fill ins. He's probably my favorite. So I'm like, okay, that's fine, and they said, but David has a sports center hit from ten to ten thirty, so you have to do the first two segments by yourself. Now, I, as you know, hate doing segments by myself. I hate doing like preachy radio here have a hot take on a topic. But Ryan, Billy, what is there even to have a take on? Right? Like, what is there to even talk about? There is nothing happening right now? Nothing? And with twenty and it's notice, they say to me, go on national radio and do not one, but two segments completely by yourself, with no prep. I don't get nervous very much, but I kind of start freaking out a little bit. I'm like, I don't have anything to talk about. You gave me no notice. And they're like, well, talk about show? And all I did was take the top eight stories and make fun of them about this is what ESPN thinks are the biggest things happening in sports. And I don't really know if my producers liked it, because Billy, all I was doing was making fun of ESPN.

David got done with his Sports Center here and then we were able to go back to normal. But Ryan, I will say that's one of the harder moments yesterday that I have had in broadcasting was on a weekend nothing is happening where they just go, hey, man, talk about show hey Otani in the Mets, like, you know, might as well just kill me now.

But otherwise you know he's on the team, has played, played some not like I said, not played the best. But are you gonna watch I think he has another game tomorrow. I don't know that I can divulge the contract information because the company that we contracted, the Northeast Ohio Dukes, actually gave us a little bit of a discount to help them because they wanted to do this event because it was so epic and historic, so I don't know that I can give you that, but it was substantial money. You can imagine the cost of building the car, transporting everything, and doing everything. Then we had the insurch cost on top of that special lot of building insurance. This is not how human beings should have to deal And it was ninety two degrees. It was ninety two degrees, which granted, in Charlotte, ninety two degrees is hot. But he was literally saying that the World Cup should be moved from America next year cause it's too hot to play here. And I don't Europeans do a lot of stuff well, but like acting like a little bit of heat is insufferable. It's crazy to me.

But I don't know why. It was like I kept having friends of mine and say, I'll write you on LinkedIn, and then I have to say I wasn't there, so I got it, and Billy, I have to say. It's been kind of wild because basically it has allowed me to go see what everyone I went to law school with is now doing. Okay, because I really haven't kept in touch with almost anyone I went to law school with. There's been there's a handful of people that I have. There's a couple of people I see, but in general, that's like a phase of my life where I just moved on. And like, they all live all across the countries. It's a you know, if you go to UK law school, most of the lawyers that go there live in Kentucky, but Billy at Duke, some live in New York, some live in DC, some live in LA. You know, I don't. I just I never see any of these people. So I get on LinkedIn and I start adding my classmates, and of course they're connected to my other classmates, and it is fascinating, Billy, what all of these people I went to school with are doing versus what I'm doing? Right, So I went I was on the Duke Law Journal. So I went to the masthead of my Duke Law Journal. That's like, so the twenty five people I was on it with and I added all of them, and Billy, these people are partners at law firms. One of them is senior counsel for the FAED right, you know that sets interest rates and all that stuff. One of them is a lead council for the Senate Republican leadership. One of them was a lead Council for Joe Biden's administration. They live like one of them is like the CEO of the Milwaukee Brewers.

Speaker 2: And then me it says the way the way your experience works is the last thing you put in is at the top. You go to my page, the top thing is owner OVW Wrestling. Which makes me think all these people I went to school with, as we get connected, when they look at my thing, they're gonna be going hosts a sports radio show, runs a wrestling company, has a restaurant. It's just really a completely different life than everyone else I went to school with. And it sort of hit me as I was on LinkedIn, like they're all in ties and like headshots and I'm sitting with a hoodie on with my arm around Ryan. That was my picture. It's just a completely different existence than everybody I went to school.

I don't care about the vast majority of sports that I have to talk about on ESPN. I really be twet me and you. I don't really care about any of them, so like it makes it a little harder. Whereas with Kentucky and KSR post game shows, I do care about what I'm talking.

And uh, I've told this story before, but like, sometimes the best things that happened to you in life are unexpected. I would interviewed to be an assistant US attorney in Lexington, and I really wanted the job, and I thought I was gonna get it, and it came down to me and one other person, and the judge picked the other person and later apologized to me about it, and I'm like, thank you, because if you hadn't done that, I would have probably taken that job.
