Episode 138 - The Night Lords pt3 - Konrad seriously annoys the Lion, and eventually meets his doom

[SPEAKER_00]: But we're gonna take a little bit of a side journey because we have to go somewhere else first because the whole theme of today's cast is how well the nightlords screwed over horse.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also because that there's so much that's going to happen back on the crack in a little bit, but you decided to spend the most time on Sothea.
[SPEAKER_00]: By far, everything's on, look at Sothea is more interesting.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because Sothea is actually more important.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, let's let's talk about of all the things that are going to happen in the from what we're at M31 right now through M41, none of it happens if Sothea doesn't happen.
[SPEAKER_01]: I would say that what happens on the craig is better because then his shit talking gives them.
[SPEAKER_00]: The craig doesn't happen without Sothea.
[SPEAKER_01]: Green.
[SPEAKER_00]: Fine.
[SPEAKER_00]: He sneaks on board for weeks and weeks and weeks, but they don't end up in the craig without Sothea.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the most important part is one of the most important parts of the entire horse heresy and was written by the way, like, two decades after they were the horse heresy, but to sign up.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, I just love this story.
[SPEAKER_00]: We covered a while back, we're going to touch it again.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the is a planet in the region of Ultramar, the greatest region in all of the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_00]: Um,
[SPEAKER_00]: On there, one of the... On there, one of the mountains is a Necron Pylon.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the Ultra means discovered it at one point.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're trying to unlock its secrets.
[SPEAKER_00]: Although ironically, actually, it was in the Ultra means it was a warp smith from the Iron Warriors, who was still loyal named Dantiyak.
[SPEAKER_00]: And...
[SPEAKER_00]: All that they knew was that this structure somehow affected the astronomical in one way or another, but they couldn't fully understand why.
[SPEAKER_00]: After the destruction of the Nightward Fleet, the Dark Angels are said to say the brutal ass kicking of the Nightward Fleet by the Dark Angels, everyone fled.
[SPEAKER_00]: And for whatever reason, the more of all point just outside Sota is considered a blind spot to the Imperium, which sounds cool until we consistently remember that no scanners in all of 40K work ever.
[SPEAKER_00]: So like a blind spot in 40K is basically anywhere that a person is not actively looking out the window at.
[SPEAKER_00]: Call it out right now.
[SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, the night lords decided that this one spot was going to be our super secret meeting point.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so a bunch of night lords all appeared right above Sotha completely undetected by the ultramarines.
[SPEAKER_00]: Weird.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's because they're good at stealth, or because no one ever detects anything in 40 characters.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to go with the night
[SPEAKER_00]: Unflinched for the day sir.
[SPEAKER_00]: I said good day.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now the ultra rings below the downside for them is the night lord fleet above them was a lot bigger than them and this is during the stage Just after Arabus had pulled off the rituals was a massive warp storm everywhere.
[SPEAKER_00]: So warp communication is jacked warp travel is jacked
[SPEAKER_00]: Sothe is an easy target.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is not well-defended.
[SPEAKER_00]: There are all trimmerings there, but there's not a lot of them there.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the ability for all trimmerings to get there quickly is minimal.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so the nightlords who are looking their wounds after genuinely getting the crap beaten out of the nightlords are looking for a victory.
[SPEAKER_00]: And a key element of this invasion, just from a story standpoint, from the nightmaster's
[SPEAKER_00]: And also I hate the name claw master.
[SPEAKER_00]: I just wish they just call them captain's like claw master.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hater was like, oh, this guy's like, it's just some of the terms, it sounds something to me to bite in eight year old.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm that a captain of a claw master.
[SPEAKER_00]: Shut up, Dork, Eric.
[SPEAKER_00]: I see a car was like especially but hurt after a thramus, but he's a little bit weird.
[SPEAKER_00]: most of the night lords were just that he's more of he's more standard space rain than a bunch of the well no he's more standard chaos space marine yes he was that he wants to be a warlord of a successful warlord ban effectively
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: Where is the other nightlers were on team like, hey, I was really enjoying pulling the eyeballs out of people and now I can't.
[SPEAKER_00]: He was sinners saying I was about to be like the most glorious claw master ever.
[SPEAKER_00]: Why can't I why I want to be better than this.
[SPEAKER_00]: So whatever nerd.
[SPEAKER_00]: He then is part of this assembling of nightlers.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they all get together and they discuss what they're going to do on Sofa.
[SPEAKER_00]: See a car speaks up randomly and it says, I'm going to lead the assault down there.
[SPEAKER_00]: My forces will conquer these guys and I'm going to personally restore glory to the night lords at basically using the word me a whole lot.
[SPEAKER_00]: Which gets him some serious side eye from the other night lords of like, what's all this dude?
[SPEAKER_00]: But whatever.
[SPEAKER_00]: So.
[SPEAKER_00]: The night lords, by the way, didn't know what was on Sotha, they just know there were ultramarades there.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so they didn't realize what they were about to do and how big of a deal it was.
[SPEAKER_00]: Initial evasion goes pretty much as expected, nightlords come pouring down and the ultramarines respond with just stoic perfection organized and layer defenses kind of rip apart the first chunk of nightlord attack because it's just disjoined, it's organized and the ultramates know this is not going to work.
[SPEAKER_00]: There are way too many of them.
[SPEAKER_00]: by like every ultramarine story involves the word rear and guard back to back.
[SPEAKER_00]: Every ultramarine story.
[SPEAKER_00]: No one has as many red shirts as the ultramarines.
[SPEAKER_00]: They love red shirts.
[SPEAKER_00]: I've debated readmaking my ultramarine army, but it's painting them all with red shirts because the amount of ultramarines that die in every story you need a giant collection of red shirts.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they do a giant rear guard action while moving as many civilians as they can to evacuation, where they evacuate them to in a ruined storm?
[SPEAKER_00]: that's the overall plan.
[SPEAKER_01]: The reason that I hate that we're doing this, because yes, so there's, we gotta talk about it.
[SPEAKER_01]: But you realize this entire story is literally based on an ultra-buried sanctuary.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is his story, and it's not on Night Lord's story.
[SPEAKER_00]: and I'm not falling.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, so it's better written.
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I just like, as I prepared for this.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, are we doing a lot of time on this one ultra-beam story?
[SPEAKER_00]: It's because of the conclusions.
[SPEAKER_00]: Why would there's two conclusions to this?
[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway,
[SPEAKER_00]: The Ultraman's fallback, Addiken Square, it's a choke point.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the Ultraman's put up their super defense, they put up a shield wall, you know, blah, blah, blah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Add a nowhere, a bunch of civilians come released it into the square.
[SPEAKER_00]: And these are civilians and nightlords had captured.
[SPEAKER_00]: Nightlords had basically had sewn their eyes shut.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they were just, the airplane part, because they knew just to get them in the way of the Ultramarines.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then,
[SPEAKER_00]: the nightlers came out with their vehicles, all their predators, but on top of their predators, the nightlers had captured neophyte all gemerines, and they'd flayed their, they were alive, but their skin flayed spread across the tanks, assuming all gemerines wouldn't shoot them because they wouldn't want to kill their neophytes.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're wrong by the Ultramans.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm still blow up the stupid tank.
[SPEAKER_00]: Watch this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, they didn't shoot.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, yeah, with a nice.
[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_01]: After they had shot.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, all right.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, but dude's going to die anyway.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I've lads cannon and the season's like a better call.
[SPEAKER_00]: But eventually as this is going, the Ultramans are holding their falling back, once the Ultramarine defenses are about to break, claw master C. A car strikes.
[SPEAKER_00]: He drives his Spartan heavy tank, which are they still in the
[SPEAKER_01]: Now they're a little wish they were still in the game.
[SPEAKER_00]: Those were cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: They were looked awesome.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's a lot of money for snacks, that sucks.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're worth it.
[SPEAKER_01]: I have to give even though I hate that you made this an ultra-marine cast for a little bit.
[SPEAKER_01]: I have to give him props because like everything went through and the one, you know, Eckers stood with.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Eckhart stood in censuring an armor, it was wrecking one night or after the other, but eventually as Eckhart's fighting and fight, he says the captain there, Sikhart sneaks behind him and kills him, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Arves is marking to him, and Eckhart's marking to him, and then stands above him celebrating.
[SPEAKER_00]: as he's celebrating, though, all of the Terminator nightlords around him turn and kill him.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they did this because, as why I went talk about this story, they kill him because in the nightlords, glory is unacceptable.
[SPEAKER_00]: Nightlords are there, there's no place for personal glory within the nightlords.
[SPEAKER_00]: Vanity is worthless,
[SPEAKER_00]: victory is only the willingness to wield a knife.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so the idea is because Sikar held himself back, let others fight in his place, and then snuck in at the end to try and claim victory for himself, he was not worthy of being a night lord, and so they killed him.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's why I went to that story.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's a very cool story about one thing I do with the night.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a quote unquote and like about the nightlords.
[SPEAKER_00]: They are not, they're not cowardly.
[SPEAKER_00]: They'll run away from a fight, but like that, like...
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to lose.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's get out of here.
[SPEAKER_00]: But that dirty style is not their style.
[SPEAKER_00]: But Cikar's death though doesn't change anything with the band of the Sofa.
[SPEAKER_00]: Quite the opposite.
[SPEAKER_00]: On Sofa.
[SPEAKER_00]: They captured them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, they wreck it and they even captured Dantiac.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Dantiac is the war of Smith.
[SPEAKER_00]: They torture him.
[SPEAKER_00]: Dantioc knows that this Necron thing on the planet of Varus is important because it doesn't know why and while being just tortured and tortured and tortured he gets concerned basically that the nightlords don't know what this thing is but if it falls into the hands of chorus it's probably a bad thing
[SPEAKER_00]: And Dan Tiak, by the way, he never could make this thing work, which tracks even M41, the Imperium can't make Necrontec analogy work.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he makes this decision.
[SPEAKER_00]: He goes, you know what?
[SPEAKER_00]: No one's going to get a hold of this thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so this is an epically bad idea.
[SPEAKER_00]: everyone inside the galaxy when they let off the welcome mat for the tear neds well yeah so that this thing explodes so he fires it off it explodes and fires this giant though maybe the largest flash inside
[SPEAKER_00]: Everything in the galaxy and in the warp can see it, including, yeah, the tyrannics.
[SPEAKER_00]: So this is why, when I talk about this, also why the first tyrannic war hit ultra mar, because this was the point they were going towards.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is why this is so important.
[SPEAKER_00]: We don't get the tyrannics in the galaxy if it weren't for this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, back to Conrad, and we're going to get, and so forth is going to matter in a second.
[SPEAKER_00]: So,
[SPEAKER_00]: after poking the bear that was the dark angels over and over again, the night Lord tried to yell a lot.
[SPEAKER_01]: He was we did not talk enough about the wild amount of shit.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh it was horrifying what they were doing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but then the nightlers tried to yell not in the face and run away from the dark angels At which point Conrad woke up and said no, those guys and went right back in the dark angels who went All right, I'll punch in the mouth and they and he led a boarding of the invincible reason Which side note?
[SPEAKER_00]: I hate the naming mechanic and 40k like you're a British come I get these are older, but we're now coming into 11th edition
[SPEAKER_00]: Can we please get a 40k equivalent of bodemic boat face please just one we've got gas coming back right how about rock the big rock I don't care just give me something give me a bodemic boat face something in 40k to say all right, but in comrades little attack everyone dies except for him and he goes full john McLean inside the invincible reason just.
[SPEAKER_00]: Crawling through air ducts despite being a freaking primar.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, Brad likes this next story.
[SPEAKER_01]: I do love this story.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this next story is one of those many stories that when you read it is woven, it's cool and it's exciting.
[SPEAKER_00]: And when you take a step back and think about it, you go, oh, that's incredibly stupid.
[SPEAKER_00]: So.
[SPEAKER_00]: the Dark Angels look around and they do a quick count of how many people entered their ship and they dead bodies there were and there's a key one missing the knife on the giant oh yeah and he's hidden but he's also a primarck on the capitol ship of the Dark Angels.
[SPEAKER_00]: which is their best ship.
[SPEAKER_00]: So there is a nine foot tall, three meter, 600 pound, 270 kilogram, warp and fuse being, is the only being on the ship who does not have the same genetic code as all the other ones on the ship, and their scanners apparently can't find this.
[SPEAKER_00]: The range and accuracy of eyesight at this point.
[SPEAKER_00]: So then the lion decides to do, oh, there's an angry murder primar, probably the air ducts of my ship.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he goes full blown scary movie.
[SPEAKER_00]: And decides, I know what to do.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's all break up into small groups and find him.
[SPEAKER_00]: The only way this would have been better is if we had female primarks because then we could have checked every box of scary movies.
[SPEAKER_01]: They could have went, also let's go in with honor weapons and alone.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, oh my god, there was some metal gear solid of like what's that noise?
[SPEAKER_00]: Probably nothing like long-dark hallway Someone should go down there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, my flashlight's dying.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know smaller groups will help us track him down together Like what the hell?
[SPEAKER_00]: They's the whole thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's well written.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's cool, but it's really stupid
[SPEAKER_00]: It's, and eventually, it's fun.
[SPEAKER_00]: The way he evades them for 16 weeks.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, he's not, he's not, he evades them for a little bit.
[SPEAKER_00]: The lion gets pissed off and the lion goes down there and spends 16 weeks looking for him and he evades the lion for 16 weeks.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, that's the better part.
[SPEAKER_00]: Where the lion is, I'm assuming taking his sort of bang on things, saying, Conrad, no, I'm assuming he did so much damage to his own ship.
[SPEAKER_00]: Ty actually takes walls.
[SPEAKER_00]: I take it out of the way.
[SPEAKER_00]: I can see him knocking on doors saying, Conrad, then Conrad, that's why I'm walking, not in here and lying walking away.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's just like Marco.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but, oh, like, 16 weeks.
[SPEAKER_00]: We are a little skin of back and back.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, you guys said these books can be funnier if you want to do the big, but while all this is going on, the rest of the dark angel fleet, you know, the ship he's on is trying to get back to terror and there's a massive ruin storm they cannot see terror, but they're trying until eventually Astropaths get a glimpse of his bright light of the astronomical, so you're awesome.
[SPEAKER_00]: They change course and they'll be lying to it and they get there and they translate out of the warp, and they're trying to get there and they're trying to get there and they're trying to get there and they're trying to get there and they're trying to get there and they're trying to get there and they're trying to get there and they're trying to get there and they're trying to get there and they're trying to get there and they're trying to get there and they're trying to get there and they're trying to get there and they're trying to get there and they're trying to get there and they're trying to get there and
[SPEAKER_00]: and they're promptly met by the blood angels, the ultrimer, he's synchronious and Gilliman in Ultramar because it was the explosion of soda, which is again why this explosion is so important because the dark angels would have just been lost if if soda hadn't happened.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is the only reason why this stuff all occurs.
[SPEAKER_00]: They end up there.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is a big deal in this because at the time, Horace's plan was actually working.
[SPEAKER_01]: He did lead.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: He just on a goose chase.
[SPEAKER_01]: He did isolate the ultramarines, space, and the blood angels.
[SPEAKER_00]: The blood angels were stuck.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then remember, Wolves are in the middle of nowhere, you know, smashing Prospero.
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, none of these people are where they should be, which is being able to come back to terror.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, is Wolves was working, so it was going well.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they get there and the lion gets a call saying, hey,
[SPEAKER_00]: the two of your brothers are here.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're in Ultramar.
[SPEAKER_00]: Can you go say hi?
[SPEAKER_00]: So he has to go leave Conrad behind in which Conrad also goes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Cool.

[SPEAKER_00]: They assume that Horax is dead.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's good because all of them are even guarding except for 50 are currently dead.

[SPEAKER_00]: The three of them are looking at each other with their entire legions.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that leaves white scars, space wolves, maybe, and roguel.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so you know that the space wolves were off them on the other side.
[SPEAKER_00]: Fine, but in those cases, it's about best case scenario.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the point is that best case scenario is space wolves.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the best case scenario is the emperor and three legions are sitting back on Tara against Horace and every and all of the trail legions.

[SPEAKER_00]: which end, but the three of them possess the largest force in the galaxy because what they do realize, because these are, as much as I blow up killing being smart, sanguinious and the lion are also light years, good generals, and they can do the math pretty quickly of, yeah, Horace probably got to tear.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Horace probably won the battle.
[SPEAKER_00]: But Horus probably took some catastrophic losses getting there, we took no losses.
[SPEAKER_00]: So how about we go and beat the ever-living at a Horus, like, oh my god, let's go do this because they don't know about the demon thing, obviously.

[SPEAKER_00]: But on the most prosperous planet in the most prosperous system in the Imperium.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he said, Oh, yeah, I let a revolution in the Craig.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, what, now, fine, they do fine dragon.

[SPEAKER_00]: It starts reach smashing.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they were ever kind of, this is, this is the time when Vulcan's still totally nuts.
[SPEAKER_00]: But they eventually, yeah, I forgot to, this is for, back the last cast, this is when Vulcan has now reformed after burning up in the atmosphere, fun phone call by the Gilliman Gets.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, hey, by the way, Vulcan's also here, and they will, how did he get here?
[SPEAKER_00]: We, we don't know, but he's here, and he's really messed up like he's beat up.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because Tom read a tax grammaticals and then he basically does a smoke on what I'm wondering though, I'm actually trying to figure out the the order of those books may have come out that book with grammaticals may have come out after the cup or the night on the books because what happens is this because he's talking to
[SPEAKER_01]: his mom, and then Vulcan shows up and goes buck wild, grammatical, gets rid of Vulcan, and then Vulcan's like, I want the Fulgarite, I'm sorry, Kodderhead wants the Fulgarite, and then they banish him to the warp, they do them.
[SPEAKER_01]: And Kodderhead thinks he's gone for weeks and weeks and weeks, but it's just like moments, but he actually comes back in the capital.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And at that point, this is where my favorite.
[SPEAKER_00]: So now it's my favorite parts of the whole thing, because this, again, I find conversations between the Lion and Gilliman always hilarious.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm glad we're getting some new ones coming up because
[SPEAKER_00]: We know where Conrad is, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Gillman goes, yeah, and wine goes, he's kind of a pain in the ass to capture, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Gillman goes, yeah, and wine is, I got a great idea.
[SPEAKER_00]: What do you say?
[SPEAKER_00]: We just bomb the hell out of the general vicinity that he's in, and then I'll kill him.
[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, kill him.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'll say that.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, but skillman says that general vicinity is the capital of McCregg.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the wine goes, yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: and Gilnesio, not cool man, not cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the lion goes fine and grabs his dreadwing and sends them down to flush the con right out.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then this next scene.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why GW loves to perform IP violation, but they do.
[SPEAKER_00]: This next scene is a rip off of demolition men, Batman versus Superman, aliens, Star Wars, and a bunch of other movies all the same time.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Conrad is leading an attack in the city around the city and as the main building is burning, that's when the lion appears and they fight each other inside of a collapsing
[SPEAKER_00]: burning structure because of course they do.
[SPEAKER_00]: This time, and of course, and there's all the pieces back and forth, fight and bad guy model.
[SPEAKER_00]: The lion gives the Obi-Wan Kenobi of how codes you Anakin to which, you know, Conrad replies, he says, you're wired on the emperor and the
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, you know, whatever.
[SPEAKER_00]: And basically says he's accepted that he's a monster.
[SPEAKER_00]: He was made to be a monster.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's just being the monster that he's supposed to be.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the lion goes, all right, fine fair enough, grabs him, doesn't just throw it slip this time, pulls his power pack off.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why, because it's a weird order of offer.
[SPEAKER_01]: And to give him the 11, the 11-figured death punch to you.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the piece, right, but at my point, the 11-figured death punch works with or without the power.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's more like, that's more like he rips the power pack off.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, oh, he took his power pack off.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then breaks his back over his knee.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'll say, it's weird because Conrad decides to go full, he put all of his points into talking right here.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he does a really good job of being a dick basically.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he just, oh, yeah, he's just trying to stir up shit.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, his whole purpose is just to be a pair of the butt.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he goes back into this whole thing of like,
[SPEAKER_00]: I am who I am.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Emperor made me this way.
[SPEAKER_00]: Therefore, everything I've ever done in the history of my entire being is because it's what the Emperor wanted, which is again, I've mentioned last time, Calvinism.

[SPEAKER_00]: The lion then freaks out and goes to go stab Conrad.
[SPEAKER_00]: Sanguinea steps in the middle and says, you can't kill him, which is ironic because what's going to happen next.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then Gilliman grabs the lion sort of breaks it over his leg.
[SPEAKER_00]: at which point the lion decides to take his ball and go home, grabs his legion and love.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that's nice.
[SPEAKER_00]: Tweet guys is like, I will screw you guys and he leaves and Conrad has successfully broken up the triumph for it sort of but not really because we get to more than a second.
[SPEAKER_00]: Sanquinius then grabs Conrad to go executed because remember Conrad did kill a ton of people.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's led horrific actions killing trillions of citizens.
[SPEAKER_00]: He killed a bunch of dark angels.
[SPEAKER_00]: He led a revolution on McCray.
[SPEAKER_00]: He tried to kill the lion a bunch of times.
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, that's how he almost successfully killed the lion and g-manifly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Remember they had to get teleported to
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so I mean, we're pretty much like, yeah, death penalty here is probably a go.
[SPEAKER_00]: But as sanguineus is about to kill Conrad, the lion teleports in the whole story there, but it's not really important.
[SPEAKER_00]: The lion's able to find the way he teleports in and goes, hey, hold on.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he goes, and this whole bit is again, funny to me.
[SPEAKER_00]: He goes, it's not that Conrad doesn't deserve to die, but because he does.
[SPEAKER_00]: Conrad's a pre-cock, and he's completely sure that the emperor that Conrad would die at the hands of an assassin set by the emperor.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's back this up a little bit, because of the fact that he's basically telling him that, because that's why a lot of people say that Conrad never felt a chaos, he was just against the Imperium,
[SPEAKER_01]: all of this doesn't work.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's against you.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's using you.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's making you do these things.
[SPEAKER_01]: And goes to confirm that I am going to die at the hands of an assassin sent by the Emperor.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's one of the things he's pointing out that he also talks about the fact that he's seen, Sanginia's his death on horseship and tells all these guys this and the lion realizes that wait a minute, he's so sure that the Emperor is going to kill him.
[SPEAKER_01]: That means the Emperor is just not
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, and this is, well, that's part one of the story.
[SPEAKER_00]: That part's okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: It makes sense.
[SPEAKER_00]: Part two of this is the funny part.
[SPEAKER_00]: At that moment, saying, when you go, oh, yeah, I'm also a precar.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I also think, I'm also aware of this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, where my fate is that I will die next to the emperor protecting him.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that hasn't happened yet either.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, hey, the emperor must be alive.
[SPEAKER_00]: freaking idiots.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so all of a sudden, everyone is on team.
[SPEAKER_00]: We can see the future and the fades are real.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they decide not to kill Conrad and then awkwardly realize that they just did a coup.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then the moment of like, oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: But let's all to then they go, yo.
[SPEAKER_00]: I've kept in planet style, that's all go to terror, hooray, and they, but they have to bring Conrad with them because of two reasons one, you cannot leave him behind, he will do horrible things and be, they want to kind of use his pre-cog powers, like I don't know, some like Rosetta Stone, but I can't figure out the concept, but they bring Conrad along.
[SPEAKER_00]: the three loyalists though have a problem.
[SPEAKER_00]: They get on the ships and they're going to terror and they can't see terror.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's not going to work, but thanks to Sengwinius, they can see David, which is the place that Horus went to get corrupted.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they go, all right, we're going there and Sengwinius, because Sengwinius had a vision to take them there.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they get to David.
[SPEAKER_00]: which is a this whole thing on David and I just don't like the story very much because it's just really convoluted and it credibly complicated, but in effect, Sanguineus goes full, they get to Daven, the planet is chaos corrupted and Sanguineus decides, I have to go down to the surface of Daven to figure out what's going on.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I have to bring Conrad with me.
[SPEAKER_00]: and the dark end is like, no you don't.
[SPEAKER_00]: And sangrius goes full professor Xavier and goes on the dark end, ship and uses his mind bullets to incapacitate a bunch of dark angels.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it takes...
[SPEAKER_00]: Conrad down to the planet, Conrad by this laughing Zass off the whole time, like he looking me my superpower.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then the line gets a button bombard them, but doesn't kill anybody whatever.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not important for this, but the whole thing on Daven gets real ugly because it is.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's Daven's very, we'll go with Warpy.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a little, little warp infused.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's a little warp infused with little warp infused.
[SPEAKER_01]: I would say that it's 50%
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's not ideal and demons come out, whole big thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Sanguineus gets pulled into the warp.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Lion and Gilman have to save him.
[SPEAKER_00]: Conrad at a nowhere goes to help and decides to go loyalists for a period of time.
[SPEAKER_00]: It helps that out.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love Sanguineus.
[SPEAKER_00]: just accept that.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's fine.
[SPEAKER_00]: But what does happen, the most important part about this is because thanks to Conrad's help.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's the key part here.
[SPEAKER_00]: They do rescue sanguineas.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's an assault comes in from other chaos space marines, but this creates a gap in the ruins storm.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they can see Tara.
[SPEAKER_00]: But it's a narrow gap.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so they all look at sanguineas a you go.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to hold.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, if this is a big deal for countering at the time and I think that this was this is he said so many points where he could have done the right thing and he does wildly the wrong thing again because he's being shown right here because he doesn't see any of the things that are going he's never for seeing some of these things.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: It should be a point where he can say that I could change the future.
[SPEAKER_01]: What I'm seeing isn't exactly what could happen.
[SPEAKER_01]: But he does not, you know what I mean?

[SPEAKER_01]: And then he immediately kind of goes despair mode and
[SPEAKER_01]: full emo for a bit because of the fact that he doesn't know what to do.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, he also says, hey, man, remember because we talked about this and the last guest, which is, he's doing a lot of this monster stuff in his mind because he's foreseen that he becomes a terrible monster.
[SPEAKER_01]: And now he's got the whole hold on.
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I didn't have to be a monster.
[SPEAKER_00]: He never said he a monster.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, which is true, but he's still a horrible monster in deserves horribly said I'm not saying that he's not I'm just saying that this is where he isn't his headspace right now in the face got the realization that hey maybe I wasn't forced to predestine to be this horrible thing I just am I'm I chose to be this horrible thing and that he has to deal with that fact of oh I'm just awful
[SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't forced to be awful.
[SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't destined to be awful.
[SPEAKER_01]: I just am, he has that look in the beer of like, oh, this is all my fault.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then he loses that a little bit later.
[SPEAKER_01]: Don't worry about it.
[SPEAKER_01]: He stays with that for about 10 seconds.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it goes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now this is definitely not what I think.
[SPEAKER_00]: I do like that while they're blasting back to Tara, Senguinius grabs Conrad and walks over to a skate pot and shoves a minute and goes, look, man, your face, your fate.
[SPEAKER_00]: Good luck.
[SPEAKER_01]: We put some stasis pod.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And just launches them out, like a group.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like, hey, man, I'm going to make no one will ever probably pick you up.
[SPEAKER_01]: Or someone will and it'll definitely come back to hunt that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Screw you, Segredius.
[SPEAKER_01]: You could have killed him right there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, that's for that ship are going to be real bomb.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, we'll get to what happened is this is not ideal for a very certain salvage vessel, but he just said, when he says, it's kind of cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: He basically says, look, Conrad, you believe that your fate is fixed.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's find out.
[SPEAKER_00]: Here you go.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm casting you out and we'll let the fates do what they will.
[SPEAKER_00]: I got stuff basically.
[SPEAKER_00]: I got you to do it.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not, I have time to wash you.
[SPEAKER_00]: So now with all this going on, there are some nightlords left and the funny story about this is there are nightlords who take part in the invasion of terror.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this is actually when I get kick out of it is like, but they're actually not that bad compared to the emperor's children.
[SPEAKER_00]: They do something.
[SPEAKER_01]: They do something.
[SPEAKER_01]: You could be out of those and you went, and what they're doing luxury compared to what the emperor's children did.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they actually fighting against the space marries there.
[SPEAKER_00]: The emperor's children were the ones who were like, this plate they're soldiers.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're at the gap, maybe.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's totally undefended.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I am sure there was some, like, remember, it's like, the Abercrombian fish, like, all right, well, these, like, those guys got the gap, but we're going to have a zombie infection.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm still got them, I'm got a couple, like, right, this will still be fun.
[SPEAKER_00]: But at the end of the heresy, though, this is what more matters.
[SPEAKER_00]: And of the heresy, almost all of the traders go back to the eye of terror.
[SPEAKER_00]: except for the nightlords nightlords egg no loyalty to any cast god well there's no word of go they go with what i call plan e for eastern fringe well yeah so just never a they currently don't have a leader and they also never accepted any particular dot they have no patron
[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, and the eye of terror is actually when there'd be bad for that.
[SPEAKER_00]: If they were to go into the eye of terror, there's no value.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's a realm of gods who hold nothing for them.
[SPEAKER_00]: They have no loyalty to.
[SPEAKER_00]: They would actually lose power of in effect by going in there.
[SPEAKER_00]: So instead, they just go to the very edge of the galaxy, which is I work for the tower.
[SPEAKER_00]: fun story there.
[SPEAKER_00]: The towel would be eventually.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's actually before the towel were even there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just a killing torch.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I got running right here.
[SPEAKER_00]: They've been seeing one of the occasion.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's how I would look at it.
[SPEAKER_00]: They were like, look, it's been a long, it's been a long, like, a murder hobo vacation.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's really was.
[SPEAKER_00]: It had a long, long, long, a couple of years of work here.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's been a big one.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know what?
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to go on an all inclusive.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to have to the Eastern
[SPEAKER_00]: and they get out there and just begin their little campaign of terror, raiding planet systems, not for supplies, just a harm people.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they're out there for a bit until they eventually meet no friend.
[SPEAKER_00]: But it takes them all to get there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Conrad and his dumbstasis pod of doom.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, so click, this is where the book starts.
[SPEAKER_01]: in Conrad occurs the night hunter and it's told in a wildly non-linear path and I want to say this to people before the test I say it's one of my favorites but it's also told in a wildly non-linear fashion so you have to get started reading into it but it's a good read.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so there's a salvage ship, because this is a rip off of alien deep rising and kind of deep star six, you've seen in those movies, this is what there's a pull from salvage ship is moving around and sees a stasis pod and decides to go salvage said stasis pod.
[SPEAKER_00]: not a good move.
[SPEAKER_00]: So no, they opened my stasis pile.
[SPEAKER_01]: They were so excited that they were going to get so much money for him.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then things did not work out for them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he wakes up out of
[SPEAKER_00]: But to do it piece by piece, pure horror movie style.
[SPEAKER_01]: And leaves each one for the others to find before they will do something to the next one.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he kills them in bad bad ways.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah, he was in them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, he was in a bad temper.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: They find a lot of the people, and you're like, I don't even know how this is even possible to have that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's bad.
[SPEAKER_00]: But there are two key parts of this ship, though.
[SPEAKER_00]: The ship's called by the Shell Droom.
[SPEAKER_00]: Part number one is that one of the crew members was an imperial assassin because at some point Malkador and the emperor had issued an order to the entire cowardice temple to go find and kill Conrad.
[SPEAKER_00]: The entire temple.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they had spread out the entire galaxy looking for them.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so one of the crew members was a cowardice assassin.
[SPEAKER_00]: And when they came upon them, they had set a note back, saying, I found him, they don't survive, by the way.
[SPEAKER_00]: This cow had assassinated very much so diced.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like, epically, by the way.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, not doesn't go up, but now the cow of this temple is aware of Conrad's existence and they know the name of the ship that Conrad's on, which means they can track the ship, part number one.
[SPEAKER_00]: Part number two, Conrad does leave one crew member alive.
[SPEAKER_00]: that's right.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it basically is kind of just doesn't really flying the ship himself.
[SPEAKER_00]: So you guys, all right, you, you're going to fly the ship.
[SPEAKER_00]: So listen to them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and this dude spends, is it four years or six years?
[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's four on it.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's some like that because the ship doesn't have a warp drive.
[SPEAKER_00]: So if this poor dude has to sit there,
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it is four years and spends four years listening to Conrad wine about how unfair the universe says to him.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, here's a big thing on this is because, well, spoiler as soon as they get to the destination, he's like, thanks for listening to me.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, guys, smoke of this dude.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, this is 100% one of those things of that dude knows all of my deep dark secrets.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, one of the reasons is because he said shit to other people and let just did not care.
[SPEAKER_01]: The problem is that he explained to over that he had doubts in his visions before he said, remember we were talking about how until
[SPEAKER_01]: the same grinius incident.
[SPEAKER_01]: He had firm 100 percent belief.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is my future.
[SPEAKER_01]: I've seen it.
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't do anything about it.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just embracing all these things that are going to happen to me.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then he had that moment of doubt.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it stuck with him for this entire trip to their secret fortress.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he had told us dude all about it.
[SPEAKER_01]: And when they got there, he's like, well, thanks for listening to my stories, put this dude in the airlock and launch him somewhere.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, Conrad gets his been furnished.
[SPEAKER_00]: Timothy's friend is Sagual also, which is actually the world where he had the lion meeting was secretly a night lord base.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because again, scanners don't work.
[SPEAKER_00]: So my lord's were able to build an entire base somewhere.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they built this giant, I don't know, center there.
[SPEAKER_00]: And from this center, Conrad gets there, puts out the call, all nightlers come beat him.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they launch a genocide campaign.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think that he's trying to make sure that the Imperium knows, he's trying to, again, the self-fulfillers prophecy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say this is horrifying.
[SPEAKER_01]: He turns it to 11, spinal tap style.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Once everyone to know that he's because right before,
[SPEAKER_01]: Before he got there, the night lords were doing all this shit, but they were doing it in hitting runs, making sure people didn't know where they were going back to.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, this is what it wants people to know.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this is a campaign of horror.
[SPEAKER_00]: Amelike, and again, we're not talking, we're not talking like dark angels when they were the first legion might wiping out stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is scary, like real bad stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: They are
[SPEAKER_00]: basically dating in blood for like a better phrase.
[SPEAKER_01]: And again, that half of the night let's we're talking about, you know, like Sevitar and the group that just didn't, they, everybody just had wants nothing to do with the night.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's just, obviously, he's completely went off the reservation.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he's lost his mind at this point.
[SPEAKER_00]: And his whole, like four years talking to Elvers, where he's, I have doubts, those went out the window.
[SPEAKER_00]: He gets here and just becomes a monster.
[SPEAKER_00]: Monster upon, monster on the, I think you made it right.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's maybe like, you know, death by cop.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like suicide by cop.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I know.
[SPEAKER_01]: I 100% believe that he, because he had all those doubts.
[SPEAKER_01]: And basically, again, he justified the fact that he was a monster by, I was made to be a monster.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was always going to be a monster.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is my destiny.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then he found his doubts.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then he's like, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to force myself correct and say my destiny was to be a monster, my destiny was to be killed by an assassin set by my father and I'm basically he's making this happen so that he's not wrong.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he sits in front of that.
[SPEAKER_01]: effigy that he made of the emperor, which was bundana town by the way, it's part of it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this is, this is, he makes uh, he's so was people together.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so it's people together and just he doesn't, and through the book he has a talk with his father air quotes about how he wronged him and he shouldn't let him do this.
[SPEAKER_01]: And if he basically knew he was going to be monster, why would he stop them unless this is what he was supposed to be?
[SPEAKER_01]: And how it's not his fault, he's forcing his self-fulfilling prophecy.
[SPEAKER_01]: He is making this happen.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because I think that he had a moment where he had the doubt with back when he grinned and saved Sangrinius.
[SPEAKER_01]: But hey,
[SPEAKER_01]: This is my fault, you know what I mean?
[SPEAKER_01]: I really feel it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Doesn't make him less and more monster, but he has the self realization, and he doesn't like it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So he goes back fully, basically, cannon balls into the pool of madness, and just goes, nope, was not my fault.
[SPEAKER_01]: See, it was always destiny.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, let's get the end of Conrad, as we said before, the Caledist Temple knew where he was and they tracked the ship.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they knew everything about it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so one of the assassins does eventually get there, named Em Shen, Shen, whatever.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Ryzen Saga, who's Saga?
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm PS, A, S, G, U, A, L. Screw you, screw you, G, W.
[SPEAKER_00]: the sagu also and gets there and infiltrates the temple.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now everyone are going to give the air code, John.
[SPEAKER_01]: Come on.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's great.
[SPEAKER_00]: I was going to get there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, when we say infiltrates the temple.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, she's a Calvinist assassin.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, she's got all these things.
[SPEAKER_00]: But this is a primarque who has spent his entire life knowing he will be murdered one day by an imperial assassin.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, it's a siker.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's a siker.
[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, he knew, not only did he know she was there, but we know.
[SPEAKER_00]: that he knew she was there because the last thing he says.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, this is recorded.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's he says to her as she's stalking him and getting closer.
[SPEAKER_00]: He says, your presence does not surprise me assassin.
[SPEAKER_00]: I have known of you ever since your craft entered the Eastern fringe.
[SPEAKER_00]: Why did I not have you killed because your mission and the act you are about to commit proves the truth of all I've ever said or done.
[SPEAKER_00]: I merely punished those who had wronged just as your false Emperor now seeks to punish me.
[SPEAKER_00]: Death is nothing compared to vindication.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is what I'm saying.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's forcing this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, he can just smoke show the assassins.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: He wouldn't.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's a thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's no question.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, no imperial assassin is
[SPEAKER_00]: equal to a prime look.
[SPEAKER_00]: But now there's all, they've written this a few different ways, but there is a debate over that.
[SPEAKER_00]: M. Shen actually does kill Conrad, because the only video evidence is M. Shen leaping at Conrad.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then the video cuts in the video cuts, but there's also the story later is that Conrad told his Legion.
[SPEAKER_00]: I will be killed by an assassin.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he wanted, he told us, do not pursue the assassin after they kill me.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he wanted that because this is his destiny.
[SPEAKER_00]: He wanted his dead body going back to the emperor.
[SPEAKER_00]: I have vindication.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, he wanted all this stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: He wants to share.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was always right.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, again, because I really feel that it goes into the fact that he wants to go, I could not have done anything less or anything different.
[SPEAKER_00]: However, M-Shank cuts his head off, that much we know, but after cutting his head off, M-Shank also grabs some of the relics of the Night Oates, including some of Congress's weapons.
[SPEAKER_00]: That sets off a few of the night lords, including Chisolo's Valcorn.
[SPEAKER_01]: She still mercy and forgiveness, yeah, not cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: So as she basically does these, she starts running out and starts getting pursued and then like the pursuit grows and more and more until she's being pursued by the entirety of the night
[SPEAKER_00]: She escapes for a period of time until she's eventually the catch-up tour, and the one who does catch her is Talos Valcorn.
[SPEAKER_00]: Talos was an apothecary in the eighth legion, and then that job was considered lame, so he just went over to be a territory.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because, you know, nothing's long.
[SPEAKER_00]: How did he kill her, though?
[SPEAKER_00]: He does kill her in a very fun way.
[SPEAKER_00]: First, he screams into her face, which stuns her, and then he spits acid.
[SPEAKER_00]: He is, it's one of the few stories.
[SPEAKER_00]: We do get a face-maring spitting acid.
[SPEAKER_00]: He does actually use the gland.
[SPEAKER_00]: He spits acid into face, which melts her face, and then he rams her through with this chain sort.
[SPEAKER_00]: But, even doing this, primarx still dead, and that has consequences.
[SPEAKER_00]: Mike, most legions is not great for the legion.
[SPEAKER_00]: They don't get the psychic break that you see.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'll go to be fair, the psychic break of the legion only happened from what I'm aware of two times where you had it with the iron hands and then blood angels.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not aware of it other times, but other primarks have died.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, man.
[SPEAKER_00]: And what you do get is the legion breaks apart.
[SPEAKER_00]: nothing more than work against the bands.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the funny part about this that I like is they kill them shand they'll go back to these different frames and they're having this grant and they're like, whatever, what's going back to the murder fight?
[SPEAKER_00]: What timing isn't ideal for this, though, because while they're doing the whole murder fighting, back on terror, all the primarks are there now.
[SPEAKER_00]: The loyalists will not be dead one, but all the loyalist ones are there.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they have a discussion about what should we do?
[SPEAKER_00]: And they've sighed, we should go get some revenge.
[SPEAKER_00]: Gilliam is like, guys, all stay back and clean up the place, go ahead, and they go tearing butt out into the galaxy to kick us.
[SPEAKER_00]: And as they're doing all this buck kicking, all the traders eventually run to the eye of terror, where is the one place, all the loyalists can't go, except the nightlords aren't in there.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they'll go, oh, they're not in there.
[SPEAKER_00]: So one day, nightlords are having the little party, you know, skinning some children alive because that's what they do.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, party, yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the children party.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And out of nowhere, the, a giant.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, this is post the codex of star days, so the ultramarine show up with all of their second-bounding chapters.
[SPEAKER_00]: They did it officially, but it's basically the ultramarine show up.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's like them in every single second-bounding chapter.
[SPEAKER_00]: So in effect, the entirety of the ultramarine show up and just put on the ultimate of ass kicking in.
[SPEAKER_00]: In the night, Lord's all have to run away.
[SPEAKER_00]: because they just go no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
[SPEAKER_00]: They never give themselves over to a chaos god, never, but this is the part where as up until this moment, they weren't part of like the demonic air quotes, forces of chaos.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was after this point they had no choice but to.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so then they become,
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, whatever it is, fun story though, when my favorite one is Osala, the plant that had it is, one cell termines get there.
[SPEAKER_00]: He never meant to say, don't count her, whatever.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they didn't exterminate us it.
[SPEAKER_00]: So many, many, many years later, M41, just this little funny side story, a imperial like colony ship got taken whatever off course because of a ruined storm, found the planet, didn't know I guess what it was.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we're like, oh, this plant's not that bad, and they settled it.
[SPEAKER_00]: live there for 500 years until the night lord's got back to what used to be their home planet saw a bunch of imperian citizenry there and went yeah new new bank all this is one hundred gold locks that three bears but a lot worth that they're polar bears bad thing
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's close out with a discussion about Nightlord's post-death of Conrad, because this is actually important.
[SPEAKER_00]: So as I said earlier, they become what I think of as the star screen of 40K.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're in and with a lot of stories.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but there are a lot of other people's stories.
[SPEAKER_01]: The night lurks are antagonists in a bunch of novels and a bunch of other people's, especially when you read the codexes, night lurks are a lot of the foils for all of this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, they do some real work, though, because they're really, oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Abidon has everybody, there's a story for Abidon putting in every legion.
[SPEAKER_01]: But they do a ton with Huron, for instance.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like, aren't.
[SPEAKER_01]: And there are in a lot of people's stories.
[SPEAKER_01]: When somebody wants to heroically save the citizens, in the chaos, it's almost always the nightlor, instead of the nightlor, they've got a ton of named characters.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're actually, it's funny.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're one of the most fleshed out chaos-based marine chapters, who I believe will never get their own codex.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's just sucky because they should.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, they shouldn't.
[SPEAKER_00]: The nation says, they're a weird chapter like that because there's not actually enough of them to give them their own chapter.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like what unique units would you give them?
[SPEAKER_00]: Raptors and then...
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they'd have to have different style raptors and shit, but that's a little bit big.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's all look another jump pack.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they're a jump pack unit and a fourth jump pack unit.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's that's all my point is like they're not different enough, but they are in a lot of books and they have some great stories of, you know, but there's a story where they realize they could create their own work beacons by capturing a bunch of astronauts and torturing them, like really badly torturing them.
[SPEAKER_00]: They would actually create false beacons in the warps.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they go there, they kill them all, and they assemble their corpses in a way that turns into a chaos ritual, and they turn the school of progenium planet into a demon's world, and then bail back out.

[SPEAKER_01]: One of my favorite things is the fact that the nightroards just like their primarne have the ability to piss people off so much that they actually make them shirt their duties.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because they're all dark angels and howling riffs they're both abandoned campaigns in Kenya to go hunt down the nightroards because they're like, no.
[SPEAKER_00]: they all died to death.

[SPEAKER_00]: Another funny one was they worked with the Alpha Legion.

[SPEAKER_00]: They beat back the Orcs.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Imperial Citizens were like, thank you.
[SPEAKER_00]: Our Savior's opened their doors and turned off the defenses and then discovered it was nightlords.

[SPEAKER_00]: The unfortunate part that I'll close on with nightlords is with because of some of the problems of 7th and 8th edition 40k, nightlords kind of sucked to play the tip top.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're meant to be an ancillary piece of your forces when they're in chaos.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's also the problem is,
[SPEAKER_01]: Right now, they're entire things based on battle-shocking people and battle-shocks of bad mechanic.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right, but what I'm saying, like the truth is, if you think about how night or through an interact, the way that 40K is played in the table top, a 2,000-point army is, yes, it's small, but it's really meant to represent a large force.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of how we think of it.
[SPEAKER_00]: the night lord don't fight like that.
[SPEAKER_00]: The night lord's would meant to be you should just have night lord raptors should be part of your chaos.
[SPEAKER_01]: But you know what night lord say really well in night lord's really really well in kill team.
[SPEAKER_00]: Kill team exactly a 100%.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so unfortunately as much as the night lord's are kind of cool they don't play well on the tabletop because they're just not meant for that.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're meant to be a ancillary force.

[SPEAKER_00]: But Horax 100% is the Punisher right now, or maybe actually, he's more spawned is what he is in the work.
