<v Speaker 1>Hey, everybody, it's Tuesday, May twelve, twenty twenty six. Welcome
<v Speaker 1>to the Giant Bomb Cast. Happy one year anniversary of
<v Speaker 1>being independent to us. That's right, everybody, I'm your host,
<v Speaker 1>jan Oh Showa joining me as always co captain of
<v Speaker 1>the ship Jeff Gribe.
<v Speaker 2>I'm celebrating one year by being behind on getting the
<v Speaker 2>news ready for the podcast.
<v Speaker 3>I'll be quiet for a second.
<v Speaker 1>Fantastic. He doesn't need to be quiet for a second.
<v Speaker 1>He's loud, he's proud. He is the extra curly fry
<v Speaker 1>in your bag. Dan Reichert still not confirmed that I'm loud.
<v Speaker 3>We don't know. Some people have said that. But everyone's
<v Speaker 3>got opinions, that's right, and he has everyone has that opinion.
<v Speaker 1>Speaking about opinions, he's got opinions on how everything that
<v Speaker 1>you like sucks.
<v Speaker 3>Jeff Beckler, that.
<v Speaker 4>Is not my position. I just want to put that
<v Speaker 4>out there. It's just oftentimes it is. This is my
<v Speaker 4>permanent position. Listen, I got good news and bad news.
<v Speaker 4>I'm just gonna tease you with that, and you come
<v Speaker 4>back around to me. I'll let you know about the
<v Speaker 4>good news and bad news.
<v Speaker 1>He found the key, everybody, It wasn't his but the
<v Speaker 1>whole time, good burns out good, and then last, but
<v Speaker 1>certainly not least. He is the bird boy of games
<v Speaker 1>media and the marathon Man of Giant Bomb Mike Mindy.
<v Speaker 5>I'm finally back the kicks. Tell hi, Jan, how's it going?
<v Speaker 3>Great? Great? Great?
<v Speaker 1>I have that wrap burned into my head now? Oh yeah,
<v Speaker 1>specifically here we go. Uh the Kayla version, which is
<v Speaker 1>the best version, which is a tree that's burned into
<v Speaker 1>the soul.
<v Speaker 5>Protected me from that one. Actually, I think I ever
<v Speaker 5>raced that one somehow. Yes, yes, this afternoon with you?
<v Speaker 5>So maybe a live one?
<v Speaker 1>Uh Dan record you asked me to queue you up.
<v Speaker 1>I'm gonna que Jeff backlar. First, what's the good?
<v Speaker 5>Bad news?
<v Speaker 4>All right? Bad news? First? I put one hundred dollars
<v Speaker 4>on a phone?
<v Speaker 3>What what?
<v Speaker 4>What do you put one hundred dollars down on a
<v Speaker 4>phone that I was promised about a year ago.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, this is like like a Kickstarter phone or something.
<v Speaker 4>No, a much more.
<v Speaker 5>What are you talking about down on a phone.
<v Speaker 4>No one's getting my joke, and now I have to
<v Speaker 4>explain the joke.
<v Speaker 3>Oh, the Trump phone.
<v Speaker 5>Then I forgot about the Trump I vaguely remember this.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, it looks exactly like the look, doesn't it.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, No, yeah, if you mean by that, if you
<v Speaker 4>mean invisible, Yes, that is how this phone looks.
<v Speaker 3>There's a savvy businessman.
<v Speaker 4>I looked at the fine print, and I failed to
<v Speaker 4>realize that there is no promise of a phone ever
<v Speaker 4>being delivered. In fact, it says don't count on it.
<v Speaker 4>It also so it doesn't really say that, I mean
<v Speaker 4>it more or less says, uh this, your your deposit
<v Speaker 4>ensures that this that this phone may or may not
<v Speaker 4>ever enter production.
<v Speaker 5>That's the news story of fortune. Trump Mobile quietly rewrote
<v Speaker 5>its fight print to say the gold Trump vote may
<v Speaker 5>never be made.
<v Speaker 3>Right.
<v Speaker 6>I'm seeing magafans revolt over Trump phone disaster, and it
<v Speaker 6>looks like there's a lot of videos of guys with
<v Speaker 6>sunglasses in their Ford f one fifties being very mad.
<v Speaker 4>Yes, boy, that's for them, very upset. I don't know
<v Speaker 4>what I'm gonna do. I feel like I just gave
<v Speaker 4>someone a fifty nine million dollar loan and I am
<v Speaker 4>deeply disappointed. Uh so, fuck you. The good news though
<v Speaker 4>Jim got vaccinated, not yet, still waiting. I'm still waiting
<v Speaker 4>on that fout. Yeah, listen, so you guys know my
<v Speaker 4>internet's a little borked, right, everyone knows like internet?
<v Speaker 3>Oh no, I didn't know that.
<v Speaker 5>Oh my, what do you mean? What do you mean?
<v Speaker 5>What do you mean?
<v Speaker 2>We make I was trying to think of the phrase
<v Speaker 2>that wouldn't upset you most, and I think I found it.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, so go ahead.
<v Speaker 4>I was just wow, good job. Time to piss was
<v Speaker 4>really quick. There, damn those TTPs getting those numbers down.
<v Speaker 4>I had a guy out here yesterday who, uh so
<v Speaker 4>apparently like ISP's now what they do is they This
<v Speaker 4>is no surprise everyone. They completely like dismantled their in
<v Speaker 4>house tech service, right, and they just like go to
<v Speaker 4>third party outsourcing as like a shell company of just
<v Speaker 4>contractors so that they can just cut every possible corner
<v Speaker 4>on earth and treat every last employee the closest to
<v Speaker 4>shit that they can possibly do. Anyway, it's a nice
<v Speaker 4>person was out here yesterday. After I've had and Chuck
<v Speaker 4>knows this, he could speak to this. I've had like
<v Speaker 4>no less than a dozen people out here all telling
<v Speaker 4>me the same exact thing, like, Yo, there's nothing wrong
<v Speaker 4>with your Internet. You're the problem. It's your fault. Blah
<v Speaker 4>blah blah, blah blah, yeah, which is what you want
<v Speaker 4>to hear. Right, It's like the thing you want to hear, Like,
<v Speaker 4>oh cool. I just have like an EMP going off
<v Speaker 4>in my basement at all times, and that's why my
<v Speaker 4>internet's bad. This guy comes in, takes one reading and
<v Speaker 4>he's like, your internet's fuck, dude, and I'm like, yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I've been dealing this for the better part of a year.
<v Speaker 5>Sir.
<v Speaker 4>There's no good solution to this other than digging is
<v Speaker 4>what they have to do. So right now, as a
<v Speaker 4>temporary fix, I have a wire exposed to the elements
<v Speaker 4>running across the front of my lawn down to the box,
<v Speaker 4>and I'm like, yo, dog, how do we make sure
<v Speaker 4>some rogue landscaping person doesn't just cut this bad boy
<v Speaker 4>right in half. He's like, don't worry, I got a
<v Speaker 4>solution for you, and he proceeds to tie orange caution
<v Speaker 4>tape around the wire. Sirs, love that is it like.
<v Speaker 3>Above the lawn or is it going through the grass?
<v Speaker 4>It's going It's going right. It's laid right on along
<v Speaker 4>the grass. The best look it's white. There's contrast, Okay,
<v Speaker 4>there's contrast against the green and those yellow flashing not flashing.
<v Speaker 4>But those orange little tieos they're not nothing. Okay, they're
<v Speaker 4>not nothing. You can see them from the street.
<v Speaker 5>Sore.
<v Speaker 4>Anyway, my entire stability of Internet relies on a coax
<v Speaker 4>cable that is just out there right now.
<v Speaker 5>That's how I'm coming to you live, folks.
<v Speaker 3>I'm gonna text your son to help me with a
<v Speaker 3>funny prink.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, you know a lot. He relies on that shit
<v Speaker 4>way more than I do. Okay, he would never do that.
<v Speaker 3>Dan Reikert, I have the run of show here.
<v Speaker 1>Let's see. What does this say? You almost died?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah it was.
<v Speaker 6>I had a solid fifteen to twenty minutes in the
<v Speaker 6>last week where I actually really had the thought that like,
<v Speaker 6>oh this this, it sounds like this could possibly be it,
<v Speaker 6>which is a crazy feeling to have. I was doing
<v Speaker 6>some traveling, I was, I was doing some stuff last week.
<v Speaker 6>We'll talk about it at a future date. But flying
<v Speaker 6>back and I'm in the area, you know, as you do.
<v Speaker 6>And I'm going to land at MSP in Minneapolis Airport,
<v Speaker 6>and We're getting down there, and like my dad always
<v Speaker 6>likes me to text him when i'm like landing, just
<v Speaker 6>to make sure I'm safe, you know. It's that dad thing,
<v Speaker 6>you know, And so I literally already I was so
<v Speaker 6>close to the ground. I text him like landed at MSP,
<v Speaker 6>you know, back home, and I was texting bank and stuff.
<v Speaker 6>She was asking if I wanted some like, you know,
<v Speaker 6>Chinese delivery or something. I was like, oh no, I'm
<v Speaker 6>kind of tire whatever. So I'll be on the ground
<v Speaker 6>in seconds.
<v Speaker 5>So I know what.
<v Speaker 4>I know what's going on here. I can tell keep going.
<v Speaker 6>It's yeah, so bred the land. Suddenly, room goes back
<v Speaker 6>up and everyone in the planet is doing the thing
<v Speaker 6>where they look around like.
<v Speaker 4>A boarded land.
<v Speaker 6>The funck was that, well, yeah, and so we go
<v Speaker 6>back up and everyone's just kind of like, okay, that
<v Speaker 6>was weird. We're all just kind of like looking around.
<v Speaker 6>They come on the announcements on the PA. The flight
<v Speaker 6>attendancy sounds slightly rattled, which is always a concern. If
<v Speaker 6>the flight attendants are looking calm, you're probably good. They
<v Speaker 6>were kind of like, okay, so you might have noticed,
<v Speaker 6>you know, we we were going down and then we
<v Speaker 6>went back up. Well, as we were making our final approach,
<v Speaker 6>we did learn that the breaks don't work on the plane.
<v Speaker 6>The breaks are just completely not functioning, which you know
<v Speaker 6>when you land on the runway. Wow, they said that.
<v Speaker 6>They said that, they said the breaks aren't working. So
<v Speaker 6>we're gonna go up. We're gonna circle around a little bit.
<v Speaker 5>We're in.
<v Speaker 6>They're like, please, you know, stay calm, we're gonna figure
<v Speaker 6>out the situation whatever. So we go up. We're circling
<v Speaker 6>yeah around MSP. Everyone's like kind of like, it's not
<v Speaker 6>like panic yet or anything like that. But then they
<v Speaker 6>come out and they've got like a sheet, like a
<v Speaker 6>flight of him is reading off a sheet and she's like, okay,
<v Speaker 6>so Rose six fifteen twenty two, you need to make
<v Speaker 6>sure you're doing this okay, So the rest of you
<v Speaker 6>and if you're not on those rows, please pull out
<v Speaker 6>the safety thing. There are six bracing positions you need
<v Speaker 6>to so if you don't have a child, you need
<v Speaker 6>to do brace some position one or three feet flat
<v Speaker 6>on the ground, hands in front of you. If you
<v Speaker 6>can't reach the ground, you have to do this thing,
<v Speaker 6>have between your legs and stuff like that. And they
<v Speaker 6>seem kind of rattled at this point and they got
<v Speaker 6>on the PA again. They're like, okay, so you will
<v Speaker 6>notice as we're approaching there are fire trucks with the
<v Speaker 6>lights on. All those are for us, and we are
<v Speaker 6>trying to make sure that we have as much runway
<v Speaker 6>as possible so they're clear.
<v Speaker 3>They like cleared the.
<v Speaker 6>Tarmac basically, and they needed to make sure that they
<v Speaker 6>had the longest runway at MSP for us to just
<v Speaker 6>come to a rolling stop basically. And at this point,
<v Speaker 6>it is full blown. People are starting to cry, They're
<v Speaker 6>starting to panic, kids are screaming. It is literally like
<v Speaker 6>I'm seeing people praying. There are yeah, tears and just
<v Speaker 6>full on freak out things and stuff like that. And
<v Speaker 6>I texted Bonk and I was just like, oh, actually, yeah,
<v Speaker 6>we went back up and we didn't land. So it's
<v Speaker 6>kind of this thing of like you kind of have
<v Speaker 6>that moment of like it should be fine. You think
<v Speaker 6>they realized it before we landed. They're doing what they can.
<v Speaker 6>But it was a moment of like sending and I
<v Speaker 6>love you text and stuff like that, and then she
<v Speaker 6>told me and then you got to put the phone
<v Speaker 6>away and you're in the bracing position and stuff, and
<v Speaker 6>it was like another ten or fifteen minutes before I
<v Speaker 6>was able to get a hold of her again. So
<v Speaker 6>she told me, it's like literally it was like she
<v Speaker 6>was home and was like, oh my god, this is
<v Speaker 6>how it happens.
<v Speaker 3>It's just like all of a sudden, it's just it's done.
<v Speaker 6>And she was in a bad way, like, you know,
<v Speaker 6>she was calling her parents and we had some friends
<v Speaker 6>come over, you know, but she just didn't know what
<v Speaker 6>to do. It was like genuinely really really scary. And
<v Speaker 6>the whole time I've got the phone in the pocket,
<v Speaker 6>I'm thinking like, oh my god, if the situation was reversed,
<v Speaker 6>and I just didn't hear something for like ten fifteen minutes,
<v Speaker 6>like every minute would feel like an hour, you know.
<v Speaker 5>So yeah, it was.
<v Speaker 6>It was crazy where we're approaching and it really is
<v Speaker 6>people like losing their minds and bracing and everything. And
<v Speaker 6>we hit the ground and the landing itself felt normal,
<v Speaker 6>and then the part that didn't feel normal is you're
<v Speaker 6>still just going at full full speed. There's normally you
<v Speaker 6>feel it all kind of like go back. It just
<v Speaker 6>keeps rolling and rolling and rolling, and it's not slowing
<v Speaker 6>down at all, and I'm in this bracing position and
<v Speaker 6>like in my head I'm just trying to picture like
<v Speaker 6>how long is the fucking runway? Well, it was the
<v Speaker 6>longest runway at MSP. Feels like we're going pretty damn
<v Speaker 6>fast and eventually though, it did just come to a stop.
<v Speaker 6>Didn't know they they practice on evacuation procedures in case
<v Speaker 6>we needed to and stuff like that. But they're like,
<v Speaker 6>leave your legnship. But like it was fine, came to
<v Speaker 6>a stop. They were able to tax us to the
<v Speaker 6>gate and everything, the fire trucks were there.
<v Speaker 5>It was just, man, why they do that?
<v Speaker 6>White and yeah, they should have had the breaks. Oh
<v Speaker 6>I did complain and I got two thousand American miles.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I think more than that, more.
<v Speaker 5>Than two American miles. Like, Hi, my wife thought I
<v Speaker 5>was dead for fifteen minutes. It's more I almost did die.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, so did.
<v Speaker 5>So when they land, like, uh, you know they've got
<v Speaker 5>those flaps.
<v Speaker 2>Right, like I'm sure they went the engines reverse, Yeah
<v Speaker 2>they do the Yeah, but was that did they mean
<v Speaker 2>the air brakes were broken?
<v Speaker 7>Like you know, I don't know, but I mean when
<v Speaker 7>you feel like anything was slowing you said that, like
<v Speaker 7>I feel like you know the sound of like the
<v Speaker 7>sound the plane mix when it's like you hear the
<v Speaker 7>engines like make that new noise.
<v Speaker 3>It didn't even do that or anything.
<v Speaker 6>It just don't like the wheels hit the ground and
<v Speaker 6>then we just rolled real fast, weird, real long time.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, because it's not right. I mean, I don't know
<v Speaker 4>a lot about it, but like it's not like breaks
<v Speaker 4>the way you think about breaks right in a car. Yeah.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, So I don't know what was malfunctioning. I'm just
<v Speaker 6>glad that like there's a check engine light or whatever
<v Speaker 6>for that was. You know, we're just you know, I.
<v Speaker 5>Feel like you don't hear about that too much, no
<v Speaker 5>stuff like.
<v Speaker 6>That where it's like, oh, there was kind of a
<v Speaker 6>you know, yeah function in the junction there. We got
<v Speaker 6>to go back up, but this was like, oh the
<v Speaker 6>planes fucked.
<v Speaker 4>Surprising that they only So how close were you to
<v Speaker 4>the ground? Also, Uh, I'm like I totally identified with
<v Speaker 4>the texting your you know, your loved one that you've
<v Speaker 4>landed and whatnot. I do it after I've landed.
<v Speaker 5>I should probably wait the extra thirty seconds. Yeah.
<v Speaker 4>Uh so how close were you to touching ground the
<v Speaker 4>first time before they abort it.
<v Speaker 6>I don't think it was like right above it. I'd
<v Speaker 6>say we were probably within like fifteen twenty seconds. You know,
<v Speaker 6>it's like you know, you're seeing the buildings kind of
<v Speaker 6>come up a little bit and everything, but we weren't
<v Speaker 6>like right above the run.
<v Speaker 5>Even that part scary, like because I had a fight
<v Speaker 5>last year where we did do like the oh we're
<v Speaker 5>about to land. Then we start going back up and
<v Speaker 5>like even that everyone's looking around like about to die,
<v Speaker 5>and then that happens. Yeah, oh we had a gust
<v Speaker 5>of wind. Should just back up.
<v Speaker 4>So sure sometimes there's like weird traffic on the tarmac
<v Speaker 4>and they're just like, you know, let's just do another
<v Speaker 4>loop around.
<v Speaker 5>That's wild.
<v Speaker 4>Man.
<v Speaker 5>What airline was this?
<v Speaker 2>Damn American Airline RINGDORMI well, yeah, damn.
<v Speaker 6>I have so much I circle had so much anxiety
<v Speaker 6>about flying, but it's always been about just fear of
<v Speaker 6>fear and having a panic attack on the flight. I've
<v Speaker 6>always said, like, I've never been afraid of the plane crashing.
<v Speaker 6>And it's like, oh, okay, well almost, yeah, almost.
<v Speaker 2>The longest runway at Minneapolis Saint Paul International Airport is
<v Speaker 2>about two miles long.
<v Speaker 3>So that that seems that seems like okay, that's pretty long, right.
<v Speaker 5>I Mean, they must be prepared for this contingency, but
<v Speaker 5>it just seems yeah, but you need yeah, yeah.
<v Speaker 3>And not every airport is going to have that. Yeah.
<v Speaker 6>The one thing that made me feel pretty good in
<v Speaker 6>the air was there was a lady up and across
<v Speaker 6>from me and she pointed the guy next to her
<v Speaker 6>and she goes, this guy works for the airline. He's
<v Speaker 6>not a pilot, but he says that, like, we should
<v Speaker 6>have plenty of runway, it should be fine. They caught him,
<v Speaker 6>So it's like, Okay, that guy seemed really calm, right, Yeah,
<v Speaker 6>that's that's probably a good sign.
<v Speaker 5>You know, Hm, I does this make any news? I
<v Speaker 5>didn't look I'm trying to look at I'm not sharing nothing.
<v Speaker 5>I'm not sharing. Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>I landed at like eleven p m over the weekend.
<v Speaker 3>I didn't see anything.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I'm sorry you had to go through uh that
<v Speaker 5>when you left the plane where they where the like
<v Speaker 5>flight tests are like, but by now.
<v Speaker 3>There was no nothing was different. No, I mean it
<v Speaker 3>sounds like everything worked the way it was supposed to write.
<v Speaker 2>I mean I did yeah, getting in the brace business
<v Speaker 2>SHO never had to do that on a plane.
<v Speaker 3>That would probably rattle me a little bit.
<v Speaker 4>H of course.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, so jan, you and I will be hopping on
<v Speaker 6>a flight on Friday, So that'll be great.
<v Speaker 5>It'll be great. What are the odds, right, yeah, well
<v Speaker 5>right before we're about to fly a bunch of things
<v Speaker 5>this summer. Great, I'm gonna be back on the ambient.
<v Speaker 5>I think.
<v Speaker 1>I just need to be on the plane with Dan
<v Speaker 1>and then I'll be fine.
<v Speaker 3>Is what I learned from this. Yeah.
<v Speaker 5>I always tell myself, like I always as a point
<v Speaker 5>of comfort, I'm like, there's like all these athletes and
<v Speaker 5>fantas people who just are flying constantly and they all
<v Speaker 5>seem to be fine, small small charter planes, and like, oh,
<v Speaker 5>that's the problem, that's the issue.
<v Speaker 3>It was one of the It was a regional one
<v Speaker 3>that we had to bore down the tarmac. It was
<v Speaker 3>one of those Okay, have.
<v Speaker 1>Y'all ever had your plane rerouted because it was full
<v Speaker 1>of poop?
<v Speaker 4>Oh no, too much shit? No yeah, no, no, I've
<v Speaker 4>had it rerouted, but not for that reason.
<v Speaker 3>It's that was an interesting link. By the way. Oh okay,
<v Speaker 3>there we go.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, yeah, I've talked about this before. By the
<v Speaker 1>plane emergency land even though it's thirty minutes away from
<v Speaker 1>San Francisco, they turned around and went to Vegas for
<v Speaker 1>some reason. Because their plane was full of poop.
<v Speaker 4>Oh it's a good reason. Yeah, it's a better reason
<v Speaker 4>than like no breaks, right, I.
<v Speaker 1>Mean yeah, uh all right, glad, Dad, Dan, I'm glad
<v Speaker 1>you're fine.
<v Speaker 5>Uh great, holy smoked.
<v Speaker 4>Still the safest way to travel not even close with me? No, sure, yeah,
<v Speaker 4>with you too.
<v Speaker 5>The sat way to travel is with me. Yeah oh
<v Speaker 5>no on an air po oh yes also that yeah yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Uh well, I'm glad that you felt supported by by
<v Speaker 1>people on the plane that knew what may have been
<v Speaker 1>going on.
<v Speaker 3>Jeff Grubb. How can folks at home support us? Giant

<v Speaker 2>premium member. That's the best way to ensure it happens
<v Speaker 2>well into the future. Thank you everybody.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, and also for the folks at home that want
<v Speaker 1>to just you know, uh, peruse all of the Giant
<v Speaker 1>Bomb premium offerings or at least from this week onwards
<v Speaker 1>and you want to watch Giant Bomb premium stuff and
<v Speaker 1>support us on YouTube. YouTube memberships are now live and
<v Speaker 1>the wizard that Chuck Zimmer held is if you go
<v Speaker 1>to the website because now if you have a YouTube membership,
<v Speaker 1>all premium content from the past year's there. Now we'll
<v Speaker 1>be adding ad free versions of everything we do for
<v Speaker 1>YouTube members So that's the podcast game US Mornings Quick Looks.
<v Speaker 1>But if you have a YouTube membership, you can link
<v Speaker 1>it to your site profile and your membership gives you
<v Speaker 1>site premium as well. How Chuck managed to do that overnight,
<v Speaker 1>I don't fucking know. YouTube membership, this wasn't overnight. Took
<v Speaker 1>him like a couple of weeks to get it down overnight.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, been having a bug, Google a bunch and get
<v Speaker 6>ahold of home like he is really like he's always
<v Speaker 6>doing incredible work here. But ye, he has just been
<v Speaker 6>what a fucking weird He's doing magic around here.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>However, though YouTube membership our fifteen dollars to cover the
<v Speaker 1>thirty percent that that platform takes. So if you go
<v Speaker 1>over there on YouTube Premium, I know that we get
<v Speaker 1>a lot of people watching all the streams over there,
<v Speaker 1>So if that is your flavor of platform, there is
<v Speaker 1>a way to support us over there as well. Speaking
<v Speaker 1>about supporting us, every new premium membership I was gonna say,
<v Speaker 1>is going to fund Mike Minatti into acquiring more bananas
<v Speaker 1>in the Giant bomb Donkey Kong sixty four.
<v Speaker 3>Subath on a Gang.
<v Speaker 1>We hit that goal overnight because of all the lovely
<v Speaker 1>people at home.
<v Speaker 5>We love everybody got to celebrate at like twelve thirty
<v Speaker 5>am or whatever when we hit that goal. It was
<v Speaker 5>incredible to see all of the support played over ten
<v Speaker 5>hours of Donkey Kong sixty four last night. But because
<v Speaker 5>we met that goal, that means we're going, uh going
<v Speaker 5>until I get one hundred and one percent in that game,
<v Speaker 5>So still play more Donkey Kong. Gonna be sitting back
<v Speaker 5>up after the a bomb cast day even and the
<v Speaker 5>drive is not over yet, though we will have a
<v Speaker 5>new incentive to reach, and we've been talking this out.
<v Speaker 5>We kind of have a rough idea here. We're gonna
<v Speaker 5>get that for finalized. But you know, at first I
<v Speaker 5>was like, oh, let's just give Mike maybe a blighting
<v Speaker 5>in the bank thing. It's like, well, that doesn't that's
<v Speaker 5>not really an incentive to have premium. So we're thinking
<v Speaker 5>that said you for a future blake, probably the one
<v Speaker 5>after when I you know, after we have space Ace,
<v Speaker 5>we're gonna Geller do one. But after that, instead of
<v Speaker 5>it just going to whoever would be next, we will
<v Speaker 5>have premium members vote for who goes next.
<v Speaker 3>And maybe that pool isn't just the normal three of us,
<v Speaker 3>Maybe it's the whole group. Why it's the whole group,
<v Speaker 3>Why it's the whole crew?
<v Speaker 5>What?
<v Speaker 3>Maybe maybe maybe we also give you a list of
<v Speaker 3>games you can pick between.
<v Speaker 5>And that will also Yes, we'll also let you pick
<v Speaker 5>the game the'll be blaited with out of a list.
<v Speaker 5>We'll give you a list of some sort and you.
<v Speaker 2>Could recommend games or list, but we'll have to have
<v Speaker 2>a final say on like because you know, it turns
<v Speaker 2>out we know better what's a black club game?
<v Speaker 3>And most people, but you guys can vote on that
<v Speaker 3>final one for sure.
<v Speaker 5>That's right, So I think that's probably going to be
<v Speaker 5>our new incentive.
<v Speaker 3>Seeing a lot of back art.
<v Speaker 4>Hey, if you can find the time on my calendar,
<v Speaker 4>by all means.
<v Speaker 6>Now, Mike, I am seeing something else than chat here
<v Speaker 6>that I do like the idea. Let's just, you know,
<v Speaker 6>we'll just brainstorm here alive. Some people are saying, what
<v Speaker 6>if we just start the counter over and then it's
<v Speaker 6>a new safe How about you go to how Look,
<v Speaker 6>I'm just telling you what Chad's saying.
<v Speaker 5>No, I look, I'll talk about ma experience fifty four
<v Speaker 5>sou But it's a lot of time.
<v Speaker 3>That's a lot of time.
<v Speaker 5>Look, everyone, there's still plenty of more of that game
<v Speaker 5>we're I did, like, I did make some pretty good progress,
<v Speaker 5>got fifty bananas when it was all said and done.
<v Speaker 3>I think you're right, you're going at a really good
<v Speaker 3>pace now. So yeah, well done.
<v Speaker 1>I would just like to take this opportunity to remind
<v Speaker 1>everyone at home of how nice of a person I am,
<v Speaker 1>and how I am just very supportive you are.
<v Speaker 4>So those are all true.
<v Speaker 2>Don't keep my mouth shut, don't keep it my mouth shut.
<v Speaker 2>Things are going great for me right now. I'm not
<v Speaker 2>going to try to like tempt fate. Just shut my
<v Speaker 2>mouth up.
<v Speaker 1>You know, I'm charming, I'm handsome. I think you're handsome everybody, so,
<v Speaker 1>you know, just just keep that in mind when voting
<v Speaker 1>opens up.
<v Speaker 4>Okay, had me until that last part. I'm sure I
<v Speaker 4>have a lot of no. No, not you being handsome,
<v Speaker 4>but everyone listening to us, Come on, they can all
<v Speaker 4>be good looking.
<v Speaker 3>Wow, that's true.
<v Speaker 4>I'm just playing the numbers folks.
<v Speaker 5>Person in chat to be like, that's a terrible thing
<v Speaker 5>to say about blah blah blah.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah exactly.
<v Speaker 4>I'm dis singling anyone out. I'm just saying, I'm sure
<v Speaker 4>there's ugly people in our audience.
<v Speaker 1>There's something wrong with that. There's someone listening to the
<v Speaker 1>show right now, not even in their own they're maybe
<v Speaker 1>getting ready and then they just looked at a mirror
<v Speaker 1>and thought, damn, I am sometimes. But hey, UGO's out there.
<v Speaker 1>We also need help on the wiki. Chuck needs assistance
<v Speaker 1>over there. If you have any PHP or media wiki
<v Speaker 1>knowers BombCast dot com, slash wiki. Also, there's video player
<v Speaker 1>apps available because of the APIs. Shouts out to con
<v Speaker 1>and Clint Eastman over there. John bomb dot com slash apps.
<v Speaker 1>We're still not selling triple dippers on the store, but
<v Speaker 1>what we are selling our whole new slate of merch
<v Speaker 1>out there. You want joggers, we got a long bomb
<v Speaker 1>on that thing. You want eraser shirt, we got that Koozies.
<v Speaker 1>The word makes me uncomfortable, but we got it up
<v Speaker 1>there on the store.
<v Speaker 3>Boys. Happy one year to y'all. Yeah, yeah, well done that.
<v Speaker 3>And with your spirit.
<v Speaker 4>I'm allowed to say that.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I give you permission, okay, And with your spirit
<v Speaker 5>what I am I'm just.
<v Speaker 4>I'm just bracing for impact.
<v Speaker 5>And also with you back we go back that mistake.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I'm with you, Mike.
<v Speaker 6>I do like that right when we like literally the
<v Speaker 6>next thing after we said the audience will get to
<v Speaker 6>vote on who gets blighted next back Lark called them
<v Speaker 6>all ugly.
<v Speaker 4>I didn't say all of them. I said, of course,
<v Speaker 4>we're just playing, just playing the odds.
<v Speaker 5>No, I mean last week, the beautiful last week was.
<v Speaker 4>Mike when the impression that we were gonna make that
<v Speaker 4>like a special thing if.
<v Speaker 5>We ever did that. But you know that's fine, Mikey.
<v Speaker 5>Mikey went above and beyond. We gotta we gotta have
<v Speaker 5>a new incentive right away.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, it's cool. I'm sorry, Jane, I cut you off.
<v Speaker 1>No, I was gonna say, Mikey last week was down
<v Speaker 1>playing and lambasting people that remember other people's anniversaries, specifically
<v Speaker 1>their parents' anniversaries.
<v Speaker 5>Uh.
<v Speaker 2>And then we celebrated our own anniversary. Exactly, Yeah, exactly.
<v Speaker 2>People should celebrate their own anniversaries.
<v Speaker 1>I agree everyone else is celebrating our anniversary by subbing.
<v Speaker 5>Okay, but like, yeah, I because it's fun. It's a thing, right,
<v Speaker 5>That's different than.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, it's a fun thing.
<v Speaker 3>You're right.
<v Speaker 5>I wanted you to know. Overwhelmingly, on like the comments
<v Speaker 5>at any place where people can write.
<v Speaker 3>Text, the support was with me on that one.
<v Speaker 4>Look, it's also possible that the amount of ugly people
<v Speaker 4>also have terrible relationships with their parents. I don't know
<v Speaker 4>what to tell you, boy, that could be. That could
<v Speaker 4>be connected as well.
<v Speaker 5>Get plighted. What's going on?
<v Speaker 3>Are you threatening back a lot?
<v Speaker 1>Are you?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah?
<v Speaker 4>What was that Mike last time? Just the numbers guy. Geez, sorry,
<v Speaker 4>just a numbers guy. I'm still gonna get It's just
<v Speaker 4>a simple man with a calculator. I'm just an innocent man.
<v Speaker 4>He's just we're all just innocent, man.
<v Speaker 1>Well, other other than being in a accusing people of
<v Speaker 1>being ugly and almost dying on playing everyone else doing okay,
<v Speaker 1>everyone else fine?
<v Speaker 3>Any other fun stuff popping off.
<v Speaker 5>I've just been playing docy Kok.
<v Speaker 6>I'm looking forward to I mentioned it is another one
<v Speaker 6>of those bombedn incentives. Yeah, Jane and I are going
<v Speaker 6>out to North Carolina on Friday.
<v Speaker 3>I forgot.
<v Speaker 6>We're gonna go hang out with a fane, eat some barbecue,
<v Speaker 6>drink some beers, and make a video together.
<v Speaker 3>That's gonna be fun. So look for that in the
<v Speaker 3>near future. That is great.
<v Speaker 1>That is fantastic. The only thing grub go ahead.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I was just gonna say that that. You guys
<v Speaker 2>see that millennial song thing on social media over the
<v Speaker 2>last couple of days.
<v Speaker 3>So the idea is like, like, what is the definitional
<v Speaker 3>millennial song?
<v Speaker 2>And I think people had some criteria of like it
<v Speaker 2>like it was in that moment and it's not necessarily
<v Speaker 2>a song that people in the younger jury generations have
<v Speaker 2>adopted or something like that. But I don't know if
<v Speaker 2>we need to necessarily like be like strict to that.
<v Speaker 3>What do you guys think is like the millennial easy.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, I feel like mister Brightside killers see that.
<v Speaker 5>I think it's my own worst enemy.
<v Speaker 3>By lit, I can see that.
<v Speaker 6>I feel like every fucking high school like video at
<v Speaker 6>the end of the year was said to that green day,
<v Speaker 6>it's something something.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah. I mean these are a little bit later. I
<v Speaker 5>think I know what Grubs said. And I did not
<v Speaker 5>hate kiss buy a Rose.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, kiss from a Rose for me.
<v Speaker 2>The reason so my reason for that is there was
<v Speaker 2>a time in the nineties where songs from movies would
<v Speaker 2>just take over the entire world and you could not
<v Speaker 2>escape it.
<v Speaker 3>They and like and let you could escape it if
<v Speaker 3>you were a little bit older, right.
<v Speaker 2>If you were gen X, if you were if you
<v Speaker 2>were a boomer, you were like listening to music in
<v Speaker 2>your car, like you had your own way to buy
<v Speaker 2>music and all that stuff. I was just like, whatever
<v Speaker 2>the culture was giving me, I was getting hit right
<v Speaker 2>in the face with it. And Kiss from a Rose
<v Speaker 2>was over the top with that.
<v Speaker 5>It was everywhere.
<v Speaker 2>It was everywhere, like you know, the the Slindon song
<v Speaker 2>for Titanic as well as pretty I think that one
<v Speaker 2>almost transcends.
<v Speaker 6>I don't know, because like I never when I was
<v Speaker 6>growing up listen to current music of my generation. But
<v Speaker 6>like even then, even though I wasn't listening to modern
<v Speaker 6>stations or anything, Kess Rose, you could not avoid anywhere.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, I think that's whole for everything.
<v Speaker 4>This is a bit of a impossible exercise too, right,
<v Speaker 4>it's a big generation space jam because you could make
<v Speaker 4>the argument that it should be like a song from
<v Speaker 4>like the late eighties, right, because you right, like it could.
<v Speaker 4>Someone said in chat smells like teen Spirit, which is
<v Speaker 4>like early nineties, right, Like that's searching?
<v Speaker 5>What about?
<v Speaker 4>Because I feel like I grew up with that.
<v Speaker 3>We did millennials.
<v Speaker 5>Yes, you guys are definitely olter millennials.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah not Mike and I were young.
<v Speaker 5>Uh what about? Uh?
<v Speaker 3>I want it that way? By Backstreet Boys for.
<v Speaker 5>Sure, like the boy band era could be represented. There
<v Speaker 5>were so many, right, There's so many things that were
<v Speaker 5>kind of happening just in that millennial sweet spot, right,
<v Speaker 5>I saw so much. I say, Toxic by Britney Spears, like.
<v Speaker 2>I think, amen, brother Smooth Smooth is the one that,
<v Speaker 2>like Escape was massive, Who's smooth?
<v Speaker 3>That's some Matchbox twenty in Santana. What are we doing?
<v Speaker 3>It's obviously the macarena.
<v Speaker 1>Right.
<v Speaker 3>I definitely thought about the macarena in that same vein,
<v Speaker 3>I was like, who let.
<v Speaker 5>The dogs out? All five?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah?
<v Speaker 5>Star Tag Team back.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, okay, I smell a premium podcast. We did this
<v Speaker 1>way back in the day where we ranked worst eighties
<v Speaker 1>songs and then eventually ninety songs. We should crown the
<v Speaker 1>most millennial song.
<v Speaker 3>Okay, okay, look it and.
<v Speaker 1>We just like put the timer on for an hour
<v Speaker 1>and then that's it, and then our definitive list will
<v Speaker 1>be the definitive list.
<v Speaker 4>This this thing is if this is like a double
<v Speaker 4>CD album, is what I think we're trying to do.
<v Speaker 1>You know?
<v Speaker 3>This is this is so like at SGF, we'll be
<v Speaker 3>selling CDs. Yeah, burn CDs.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I did go look back at we I was like,
<v Speaker 2>did we ever watch that star fuck sixty four toys
<v Speaker 2>r us p our video?
<v Speaker 3>And we definitely did.
<v Speaker 2>And uh, in there we had the idea of making
<v Speaker 2>our content and putting on VHS and shipping into people's houses.
<v Speaker 3>We still got to do that. We still have to
<v Speaker 3>like make a VHS tapen.
<v Speaker 5>Oh maybe my next I wonder if my next like
<v Speaker 5>lunch break during tickey thing, I could just play that
<v Speaker 5>VHS while I eat entertain people. Am I allowed to
<v Speaker 5>just do that? Yes?
<v Speaker 3>You do whatever you want.
<v Speaker 5>Yes.
<v Speaker 1>The Eiffel sixty five song, Oh yeah, an entire version
<v Speaker 1>of that also.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, and all day and all night everything he sees
<v Speaker 5>just blue like him inside and outs.
<v Speaker 1>I blew his I wasn't asking you to do this, Okay,
<v Speaker 1>all right, Premium folks, you got a bunch of stuff
<v Speaker 1>headed your way. A new episode of Portal Piles dropping
<v Speaker 1>this afternoon, the most.
<v Speaker 5>Rise up Portal Pals.
<v Speaker 3>Thank you, Jim, We got moms.
<v Speaker 5>There's a lot of good in this episode too. Where
<v Speaker 5>is the condom?
<v Speaker 1>Man?
<v Speaker 4>Just you like frantically searching for a condom like that
<v Speaker 4>just sounds.
<v Speaker 3>It's funny.
<v Speaker 4>It's tearing apart your whole bedroom where.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, there's a god. Every time I sit down and
<v Speaker 1>edit Portal Pals, I just like I have to think
<v Speaker 1>and stop of like, wow, Mary is untouchable. Like Mary,
<v Speaker 1>she could do she could do it, be the last
<v Speaker 1>person on earth canceled. Oh yes, yes, yes, and then
<v Speaker 1>she'll wind up canceling herself just because she could.
<v Speaker 3>Uh, folks.
<v Speaker 1>A lot of games slowly trickling out. But first one
<v Speaker 1>I want to talk about is the one that Mike
<v Speaker 1>Minatti has been playing and is going to continue to
<v Speaker 1>be playing on the website. That game is Donkey Kong
<v Speaker 1>sixty four.
<v Speaker 5>Mikey, Yeah, I played like over ten hours of this game. Actually,
<v Speaker 5>did you just yesterday?
<v Speaker 3>How's that possible?
<v Speaker 5>I know to go? I think that game's find somewhere.
<v Speaker 5>I am definitely definitely still very much in there. What
<v Speaker 5>are you all complaining about phase? I understand that could change,
<v Speaker 5>especially as I really hunt for the items, but I'm like,
<v Speaker 5>you run around collects stuff and.
<v Speaker 3>Uh, real quick, you will mark this down to put
<v Speaker 3>into a yah.
<v Speaker 5>I think there are some there's a certain breed of
<v Speaker 5>gamer who the moment they backtrack at all, like something
<v Speaker 5>fives in their brain and it's painful for them. They
<v Speaker 5>hate doing that, and I've just never been bothered by that.
<v Speaker 5>So yeah, like in this game, you have to backtruck
<v Speaker 5>of lock. You gotta go back to that barrel, become
<v Speaker 5>another monkey, and go to a place you just went to.
<v Speaker 5>I don't care, That's fine with me.
<v Speaker 2>It's just all like put yourself back in that moment
<v Speaker 2>of oh my god, we're gonna get a Donkey Kong
<v Speaker 2>three D platformer like Mario sixty four.
<v Speaker 3>And this game is not that.
<v Speaker 5>It is.
<v Speaker 2>Everything you're doing is the less fun version of something
<v Speaker 2>you could have been doing in Maris sixty four, or
<v Speaker 2>completely absent of the kind of fun stuff you were
<v Speaker 2>doing in Mario sixty four. And so the comparison really
<v Speaker 2>hurt it in that moment. And that's still the emotions
<v Speaker 2>I carry forward from this game of being like so
<v Speaker 2>not only is it like just kind of collect collectith
<v Speaker 2>on first, not fun three D platformer stuff first, and
<v Speaker 2>then it has all this like awkwardness in how you're
<v Speaker 2>gonna be doing that collectithon stuff. You walk up it
<v Speaker 2>to a thing and like, hey, it would be fun
<v Speaker 2>to interact with this, and the game's like, well you
<v Speaker 2>can't until you come back later as this other thing.
<v Speaker 2>Why And it's like there's no good reason other than
<v Speaker 2>that's just the way the game works.
<v Speaker 5>It does strike me actually while playing it, how little
<v Speaker 5>actual platform there is right, Like like Mario sixty four,
<v Speaker 5>that's the game that's gonna platforming. You're jumping, you're jumping
<v Speaker 5>up walls and things like that, but you know this
<v Speaker 5>game you don't have the wall jump, you don't have
<v Speaker 5>you know, double jump, triple jump, the sideway jump. It's
<v Speaker 5>it is really less about the traversal, and it really
<v Speaker 5>is kind of more like like get this figure out
<v Speaker 5>how to get this particular ape over here, then you
<v Speaker 5>can push this button and something unlocks over there, and
<v Speaker 5>maybe you'll go into a mini game things like that.
<v Speaker 5>But you know, I think the mini games have still
<v Speaker 5>been mostly fun. I know I struggled for a bit,
<v Speaker 5>but getting to play original Donkey Kong that's a good time. No,
<v Speaker 5>But like, yeah, it is, it is. It's it is
<v Speaker 5>almost less of a three D platform and more collectithon
<v Speaker 5>like that really is the name of the genre. And
<v Speaker 5>to be clear, like Mario sixty four ten out of ten,
<v Speaker 5>Donkey Kong sixty four deven out of ten, right, Like, yeah,
<v Speaker 5>so that's three points difference on our review sco that
<v Speaker 5>usually only goes to five for most people. That's a
<v Speaker 5>big deal in a lot of ways, right Yeah, And
<v Speaker 5>maybe like time has kind of healed that wound a
<v Speaker 5>bit of expecting this game to just maybe be as
<v Speaker 5>good as Mario sixty four and that it's just not
<v Speaker 5>gonna happen. But there there still was a lot of charm,
<v Speaker 5>like the characters, the animations. They're fun, the music, the
<v Speaker 5>DK rap I mean, come on, I do like everyone
<v Speaker 5>has a gun.
<v Speaker 3>I think it's to.
<v Speaker 5>Shoot the things.
<v Speaker 2>You know, it is fun that the apes have guns.
<v Speaker 2>I like that where they got the idea for the movies. Eventually,
<v Speaker 2>I'm sorry, real quick, you should continue this.
<v Speaker 3>All right? All right?
<v Speaker 2>Someone a Chat says, let's see here. Uh, I'm gonna
<v Speaker 2>read this from Colonel Sanders.
<v Speaker 5>Uh.
<v Speaker 2>If you have a steam controller, turn it on and
<v Speaker 2>drop it a couple of feet onto your bed a
<v Speaker 2>few times safely. Just trust me, he says. He doesn't
<v Speaker 2>want to spoil it. So I'm gonna do it right
<v Speaker 2>now while you guys continue this recording with the share record.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, good idea. All right, I'll do that, you guys.
<v Speaker 5>I'm gonna do it right here. You guys try to
<v Speaker 5>be able to say dance tagging back random randomly drop
<v Speaker 5>your Steam controller. That's the instructions, four or five times.
<v Speaker 5>It's gonna it's gonna say the release date for Half
<v Speaker 5>Life three. What I'm expecting at.
<v Speaker 3>This boy, open portal.
<v Speaker 5>That's the bed, immediately share onto the floor audio listeners.
<v Speaker 5>Chat told him to do this. That's something special is
<v Speaker 5>gonna happen if he drops his.
<v Speaker 2>Controller, control, dropping his team controller, repeat it, but but
<v Speaker 2>on like a pet pet chase, not to break it.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I don't Why am I.
<v Speaker 5>Doing this right? I don't know. I don't think anything
<v Speaker 5>is gonna happen. What's supposed to happen? He has Okay,
<v Speaker 5>you have to be in big picture mode, I think, Jeff,
<v Speaker 5>I think it's like an important thing to mention what
<v Speaker 5>I think those instructions may have been important.
<v Speaker 3>A little dagger pops out or something. All right, all right,
<v Speaker 3>I'm a big picture. But I'm trying again.
<v Speaker 4>He's going through.
<v Speaker 5>The podcast.
<v Speaker 3>Want to be very clear, Jeff, he absolutely cannot.
<v Speaker 5>I need to want to do this. There's no way
<v Speaker 5>of talking.
<v Speaker 3>About he's crossing it too much. I think he needs
<v Speaker 3>to drop drop it.
<v Speaker 5>I think he's the right amount.
<v Speaker 3>But that feel too high now.
<v Speaker 4>I feel like, what do we think it's gonna do?
<v Speaker 4>I think it's just gonna like.
<v Speaker 5>Nothing, something happens. Do you have lights in it? Does
<v Speaker 5>it have lights in it? I mean there's like one
<v Speaker 5>light maybe like maybe is gonna.
<v Speaker 3>Happen on the controller or the screen. Colonel Sanders.
<v Speaker 5>Colonel Sanders said this is reckless behavior, Colonel Cranel says, now,
<v Speaker 5>especially when you told me to do this, you didn't
<v Speaker 5>have to. They had tried a few times.
<v Speaker 3>This is this is backfire.
<v Speaker 5>We might need a hit about what's supposed to happen?
<v Speaker 5>He said, what's the difference? He's dropping it? Why is
<v Speaker 5>it to be a bed? This is stupid.
<v Speaker 4>The controller doesn't know.
<v Speaker 5>Does it have bead detection technology? What it's it makes?
<v Speaker 5>It makes a noise. Apparently it makes a noise. Have
<v Speaker 5>you heard a noise yet? Yeah?
<v Speaker 4>When it's I think I just heard a noise.
<v Speaker 5>Scream it scream. It's because it's falling. Check the board.
<v Speaker 5>Is it screaming really high?
<v Speaker 7>Up?
<v Speaker 5>You are? You are worrying? Yes, it's screamed. Oh my god?
<v Speaker 3>Okay, was that worth it? Now?
<v Speaker 1>What?
<v Speaker 3>Actually? That was awesome?
<v Speaker 2>I recorded with my phone and it's I'm not gonna
<v Speaker 2>hear the scream so great it might well.
<v Speaker 4>Oh it's a Wilhelm scream specifically.
<v Speaker 3>Oh my god. Yeah all right, okay, Well we'll figure
<v Speaker 3>out a way to actually do that. All right.
<v Speaker 5>Okay, can you imagine if you like you actually got
<v Speaker 5>mad at gaming, like through your controlled agger, It's.
<v Speaker 4>That that's actually kind of funny.
<v Speaker 5>It just am I a joke? Does my ager abuse?
<v Speaker 5>You got that step controller for jail? I've you said once,
<v Speaker 5>I've been getting ready for Donkey Kong and then playing
<v Speaker 5>Donkey Kong sixty four, a game I apparently feel okay
<v Speaker 5>apout right now, check back, you know on me at
<v Speaker 5>the end of the week.
<v Speaker 1>Well, Mike, I've always thought you're not an ordinary foul,
<v Speaker 1>and neither is Jeff Grubb because he has been playing
<v Speaker 1>Dance Dance Revolution with the Ltech mat.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>So I had some problem with my previous Konami three
<v Speaker 2>sixty matt. It was working on a previous computer. I
<v Speaker 2>plugged it into this new one because the last computer
<v Speaker 2>was just breaking.
<v Speaker 3>It was bad.
<v Speaker 2>I was carrying my hair at my hair out trying
<v Speaker 2>to troubleshoot that one, and I didn't want to do that.
<v Speaker 2>I don't want to spend my life trying to fix things.
<v Speaker 2>So I got the new computer. Well it's an older computer,
<v Speaker 2>but it's the newer one plugged in and I had
<v Speaker 2>a new reason to trouble shoot and pull my hair out.
<v Speaker 2>The the DDR MATT for the three sixty with the
<v Speaker 2>USB thing that was working fine on the previous computer
<v Speaker 2>was being registered as having a a like it's called,
<v Speaker 2>you know, a hat, which is like another word for
<v Speaker 2>the thumbstick, is being registered as an analog stick. And
<v Speaker 2>one thing about an analog stick you cannot press left
<v Speaker 2>and right or up and down at the same time.
<v Speaker 2>It does not like that, so when I would try
<v Speaker 2>to do that, it's like, hey, no, there's no nothing's
<v Speaker 2>being registered at all here. So I spent a long
<v Speaker 2>time trying to fix that. I installed unsigned drivers for
<v Speaker 2>my my DDR MAT on my computer, which just seems
<v Speaker 2>like a big security risk for no good reason. And
<v Speaker 2>eventually it's like, oh, this also isn't working. So I
<v Speaker 2>went online and I'm like, hey, what is like the
<v Speaker 2>shirt thing I can get to make sure I'm gonna
<v Speaker 2>have a DDR MAT that I can plug it into
<v Speaker 2>my PC and it's just going to work. And everyone's like, look,
<v Speaker 2>here's a bunch of cheap ones, but there's no guarantee.
<v Speaker 2>There is one guarantee, and it is the expensive, like
<v Speaker 2>basically metal mat. I got one that's just like the
<v Speaker 2>one in the arcade thing. So I bit the bullet,
<v Speaker 2>got that talk. I actually reached out the company and
<v Speaker 2>they pointed me in the right direction.
<v Speaker 3>Stuff like that.
<v Speaker 2>But got the got the mat and it's it's heavy,
<v Speaker 2>it's big, I can wear I can play with my
<v Speaker 2>shoes on, which actually for me is really great.
<v Speaker 3>And it's awesome. So I got it plugged in. It
<v Speaker 3>like stays on the ground perfectly. You know, the mat.
<v Speaker 3>You can get used to it though, like the soft mats,
<v Speaker 3>I did get used to them. That's how I learned
<v Speaker 3>to play DDR.
<v Speaker 2>And you eventually over time you just sort of like
<v Speaker 2>subconsciously like adjust things with your foot as you're dancing
<v Speaker 2>to make sure they're not and like get off too
<v Speaker 2>far to the one side, or start like skirting underneath
<v Speaker 2>the couch. And this one's like I don't worry about
<v Speaker 2>all of that. I Am just going to town having
<v Speaker 2>a great time, and it feels really good, except for
<v Speaker 2>like when I was done, like I'm a little bit
<v Speaker 2>more sore than I normally am. And it's because it's
<v Speaker 2>like I'm landing on this hard surface the impact, which
<v Speaker 2>I think is actually that's actually good. I think over
<v Speaker 2>time I'll build up like some muscles to deal with that,
<v Speaker 2>which is what I That's one of the reasons I'm
<v Speaker 2>playing DDR. Again is like jump training and trying to
<v Speaker 2>get some impact going keep like that bone density up.
<v Speaker 2>It's great for that. DDR is awesome. Step Mania is incredible.
<v Speaker 2>It's it's great to just go online and download these
<v Speaker 2>random song packs and be like, what is in here?
<v Speaker 2>And I this morning I danced to the theme songs
<v Speaker 2>for Duck Tails, Tailspin and the Super Mario Bro Super Show.
<v Speaker 2>And I got to tell you I'm in a fucking
<v Speaker 2>great mood.
<v Speaker 3>I'm gonna that.
<v Speaker 2>I just got Tailspin shorts. Listen, I need to get
<v Speaker 2>Tailspin shorts and dance to some Tailspin.
<v Speaker 5>It was excellent and it's like you can win it
<v Speaker 5>in a mantleenspansvan Spinette perfect.
<v Speaker 3>I yes, I it's l tech is is the company
<v Speaker 3>that makes it?
<v Speaker 2>Or I a mats dot com. This one's pretty expensive,
<v Speaker 2>but I kind of I'm like glad. I always wanted to.
<v Speaker 5>Get a dancing stream.
<v Speaker 3>Does it come with a bar?
<v Speaker 5>Or no? You can get a bar.
<v Speaker 2>I don't like the bar because the bar is for
<v Speaker 2>like serious DDR players. These are people who are like
<v Speaker 2>trying to perfect the most difficult songs. And that's never
<v Speaker 2>really how I played. I would play on like the
<v Speaker 2>medium levels, and I'm trying to like shift my weight
<v Speaker 2>back and forth really quickly because I like the idea
<v Speaker 2>of like stressing out the ankle muscles and be like,
<v Speaker 2>oh my god, I'm over here and now like the
<v Speaker 2>next thing is coming up very fast, and I got
<v Speaker 2>to get both feet over on this other side of
<v Speaker 2>the map or the matt and I don't want to
<v Speaker 2>have the assist there. I want to do that all
<v Speaker 2>with my legs. And so that's how I'm playing. But
<v Speaker 2>you can, yes, you could buy a separate bar attach
<v Speaker 2>it to this thing and then it behaves just like
<v Speaker 2>the arcade control. But yeah, it's all set up now,
<v Speaker 2>and I am god, I'm gonna do Nelly Stream and
<v Speaker 2>have people pick some songs and stuff you.
<v Speaker 1>Should t pose with five pound weights. The whole time.
<v Speaker 2>I definitely thought about, like, who's just like when I'm
<v Speaker 2>getting warmed up and I'm playing a slower song, I
<v Speaker 2>am like kind of going into a squatting position to
<v Speaker 2>like put a little bit extra effort on my legs.
<v Speaker 2>I should just go get the you know, the kettle
<v Speaker 2>ball and kettlebell and do things that way. So but
<v Speaker 2>I would probably hurt myself.
<v Speaker 1>You would probably hurt yourself. Yes, watch out for your
<v Speaker 1>knees and your ankies please, Yes.
<v Speaker 3>I'm being careful.
<v Speaker 1>Magical Beautiful, just like Mike Minatti has been playing Magical
<v Speaker 1>tetris Chiallenge.
<v Speaker 5>This was the game I used to test my Nintendo
<v Speaker 5>sixty four set up before the Donkey Kong ying. This
<v Speaker 5>is interesting. So Capcom only made three games for the
<v Speaker 5>n sixty four, I believe, Get Out of Yes, this
<v Speaker 5>Resunuble two, Megan Man sixty four and this is the
<v Speaker 5>only one that was n sixty four first. And what
<v Speaker 5>it is and somehow I've never played this game until
<v Speaker 5>the weekend. This is Capcom made a Disney licensed Testris game.
<v Speaker 5>That's what this is. In it oh, mostly kind of
<v Speaker 5>built down like the like the one v one style stuff, right,
<v Speaker 5>like the Arcade kind of competitive like puzzle fighter that
<v Speaker 5>kind of thing. So you're clearing blocks and you're doing combos,
<v Speaker 5>you can send junk to the opponent, and as a
<v Speaker 5>campaign mode where you pick Minnie, Mickey Donald or Goofy
<v Speaker 5>and there's a little story to justify you playing all
<v Speaker 5>these other characters. And the pixelart looks great, right, that's fun.
<v Speaker 5>The music's fantastic. It's just like an absolute banger Capcom soundtrack.
<v Speaker 5>There was some really good sound and music in this thing.
<v Speaker 5>The game pretty challenging, especially when I got the pete
<v Speaker 5>at the end, because these junk pieces that they are sending,
<v Speaker 5>Like sometimes it's just like, oh, here's like a three
<v Speaker 5>by three block, but it was like here's a six
<v Speaker 5>by six blocker, here's like three of them in a row.
<v Speaker 5>Or sometimes you just get sent monstrosities of tetraminos where
<v Speaker 5>it's like there's like a bit like a bit here
<v Speaker 5>that above that one three to the right to two
<v Speaker 5>up left, like it's just a nonsense shape. You have
<v Speaker 5>to try to put it somewhere. So it's a very
<v Speaker 5>different experience from playing like the more like single player
<v Speaker 5>Tetris effects style thing. You can't even hold a block
<v Speaker 5>in this one, so you don't have the reserve slot,
<v Speaker 5>so it's largely work with it. You got trying to
<v Speaker 5>make tetris or petrises, which is if you clear five
<v Speaker 5>blocks in a row. You can do that because you
<v Speaker 5>do get a five long boy in this one, or
<v Speaker 5>in combos are important too, right, like maybe even more
<v Speaker 5>some than a Tetris, just like clear a block and
<v Speaker 5>then try to clear some blocks or some lines in
<v Speaker 5>the next one clear some lines there, but yeah, it
<v Speaker 5>was it was just it was really fun. I definitely
<v Speaker 5>enjoyed the Disney flavor, but the Capcom flavor was pretty
<v Speaker 5>strong in it too, So yeah, Tetris, Fantasy Capcom great, great,
<v Speaker 5>great flavors together.
<v Speaker 1>Speaking about great flavors, I can't help want to savor
<v Speaker 1>the flavor of those blue orbs that I want to
<v Speaker 1>absorb in sorrows.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, I've been thinking about this because, like you know,
<v Speaker 6>that's not really a game you can travel with, so
<v Speaker 6>I haven't played it for a while. I think I
<v Speaker 6>talked about it last time I was on here, but
<v Speaker 6>I was a little bit and grub you and I
<v Speaker 6>talked about it, and it's weird to me that, like
<v Speaker 6>I came back and you know, granted there's other games
<v Speaker 6>out and embargo stuff for work, and as a reminder,
<v Speaker 6>you're a huge Returnal fan.
<v Speaker 5>That's the thing.
<v Speaker 6>I adored Returnal. That is very much my type of game.
<v Speaker 6>I think it was one or two on my favorite
<v Speaker 6>games of the year. It was Fire Escapes game of
<v Speaker 6>the Year. Like I have been singing the praises of
<v Speaker 6>Returnal for six years. I got back from you know,
<v Speaker 6>nine day nine days away or so, but completely forgot
<v Speaker 6>I was playing it, you know where It's like the
<v Speaker 6>amount I was loving Returnal and everything that would have
<v Speaker 6>been topped my mind. I would have been like, oh,
<v Speaker 6>I can't wait to get back and play Returnal. And
<v Speaker 6>I can't quite put my finger on what it is
<v Speaker 6>because like it is doing the Returnal thing and more.
<v Speaker 6>And I don't know, Grub you beat it, you were
<v Speaker 6>viewed it, and the reason out of sight, I'm I
<v Speaker 6>don't know, do you do you have a sense of like,
<v Speaker 6>what is the big thing that's different here that would
<v Speaker 6>cause it to maybe not get its hooks in as much.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, I you know, it's gonna be different for everybody.
<v Speaker 2>My guess would be that they just sand it off
<v Speaker 2>the edges so much that it just almost feels like
<v Speaker 2>it plays itself. I think I was talking to Mike
<v Speaker 2>about it, and at a certain this is like, at
<v Speaker 2>a certain point it wasn't my final feeling about the game,
<v Speaker 2>but there was a point where I was remembering the
<v Speaker 2>feeling I was having playing one of those old flash
<v Speaker 2>games that's just about upgrading.
<v Speaker 3>Like it was like the joke about, oh.
<v Speaker 2>This game is just an upgrade tree, and at a
<v Speaker 2>certain point this game Sorrow's feels like it's just the
<v Speaker 2>upgrade tree is way more important than anything else that
<v Speaker 2>is happening. It sort of overtakes the gameplay of like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>as long as I have the upgrades here, the game
<v Speaker 2>becomes trivial. And it does become trivial, and.
<v Speaker 6>It does feel like, you know, you're pretty much ready
<v Speaker 6>to beat each biome's boss once you have reached like, okay,
<v Speaker 6>I bought everything on the tree up until this blocker here,
<v Speaker 6>and that's when it's like, okay, now you know you
<v Speaker 6>have to beat the boss to get past that blocker,
<v Speaker 6>right exactly. So it's like it feels like it allence
<v Speaker 6>properly kind of when you're up to that point. So
<v Speaker 6>kind of I don't know if that makes the previous
<v Speaker 6>runs kind of feel like, all right, I'm just kind
<v Speaker 6>of doing this just to kind of get my Ilumini
<v Speaker 6>or whatever it's called, you know, to level up and
<v Speaker 6>then I can make a real run at it. It's uh, yeah,
<v Speaker 6>I think it is standed off in a way. I
<v Speaker 6>did like the Challenge of Returnal quite a bit. I
<v Speaker 6>think I liked the look of some of the biomes.
<v Speaker 6>I think they were a little more striking before. The
<v Speaker 6>story is not particularly grabbing me in sorrows, Like this
<v Speaker 6>story is actually self fantastic.
<v Speaker 5>The action is just is great.
<v Speaker 6>The Great Enemy is great, just like bullet Hell Thread
<v Speaker 6>like it's doing that stuff in that housemark style that
<v Speaker 6>that's what they do best. But yeah, it's all to
<v Speaker 6>say that, like it's a I think it's a very
<v Speaker 6>very good game, but something is happening with it where
<v Speaker 6>it's just not.
<v Speaker 3>Clicking with me in the same way as Returnal.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, interesting because you were Dan, correct me if I'm wrong,
<v Speaker 1>but you were very very high on Returnal when it
<v Speaker 1>came out, right, it was pretty much game of the
<v Speaker 1>year that year.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, I can't remember one or two, but it was
<v Speaker 6>Fire Escapes like Group, you know, game of the year.
<v Speaker 6>So like very much loved it.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I mean, so are you gonna finish it?
<v Speaker 5>I think so.
<v Speaker 3>I think it's just right now.
<v Speaker 6>There is a lot of stuff out in some embargoed
<v Speaker 6>stuff that it's like going to take priority for coverage
<v Speaker 6>on the site and stuff, So maybe there's a lull
<v Speaker 6>afterwards and then maybe you can do that. It does
<v Speaker 6>suck that, like I've been traveling so much, and like,
<v Speaker 6>you know, obviously I shift to a lot of Steam
<v Speaker 6>deck type stuff or switch stuff during those times. So
<v Speaker 6>I'll get back to it and maybe I'll change my tune.
<v Speaker 6>But yeah, right now, it's like I couldn't believe that
<v Speaker 6>I like kind of forgot about it, you know.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I also forgot about it because it I'm just
<v Speaker 1>so used to And this is a very fortunate position
<v Speaker 1>I understand, of being able to play everything on my
<v Speaker 1>PC that we work out of and do personal things
<v Speaker 1>out of. And I was looking at my Steam library,
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, where the fuck is Sorrows? Did I delete it?
<v Speaker 1>Only to realize right right? Ps five only? And I
<v Speaker 1>think for me personally, it's gonna probably make me forget
<v Speaker 1>about the game slowly. Sure, if I don't have like
<v Speaker 1>a conscious effort to circle back to it, I do
<v Speaker 1>kind of want to finish it, Greb. You clocked in
<v Speaker 1>what ten thirteen hours?
<v Speaker 2>I know, twenty hours when I was done, I think,
<v Speaker 2>and I think most people will be between twenty and
<v Speaker 2>twenty five hours.
<v Speaker 3>It would be my guess.
<v Speaker 2>I like estimated how many runs that did, and like,
<v Speaker 2>I think it must be around seventy but I I
<v Speaker 2>don't think that's actually right now. I need to go
<v Speaker 2>back and actually see what it was, but it was
<v Speaker 2>it definitely overstated. It's welcome for me.
<v Speaker 3>One thing for sure, though, Rahu Coli'S performance not flat.
<v Speaker 5>No, no, not at all.
<v Speaker 1>You know who else isn't flat? But he might get
<v Speaker 1>flattened by specific enemies coming after him is Leon Kennedy
<v Speaker 1>and Leon Must Die.
<v Speaker 5>See it's fine think me and you both realized we
<v Speaker 5>should talk about this at the same time in the dock.
<v Speaker 5>We were both trying to write. I was like broquakes,
<v Speaker 5>I kind of did one of those, because yeah, they
<v Speaker 5>added a rogue light mode to Resident Evil Requiem followed
<v Speaker 5>Leon Must Die Forever. I don't know why the forever
<v Speaker 5>had to be added in there. I think Leon Must
<v Speaker 5>Die as a catch your name. This is a free
<v Speaker 5>little update thing that kind of remixes all the segments
<v Speaker 5>into this roguelike mode where you always start off in
<v Speaker 5>those streets that he begins with and you kind of
<v Speaker 5>work your way from there, and there's multiple paths, but
<v Speaker 5>the pass will go to places from the game, like
<v Speaker 5>the east wing of the care Center or you know,
<v Speaker 5>this part of the downtown area. Then you know you
<v Speaker 5>can kind of like do it in a way where
<v Speaker 5>you maybe only go to through these levels so you
<v Speaker 5>don't have much chance to get the upgrades, and every
<v Speaker 5>time you kill enemies or do certain things, you get
<v Speaker 5>experience points, and it's like pick one of three upgrades,
<v Speaker 5>like make your shotguns stronger, or make us that when
<v Speaker 5>you parry your axe automatically repairs itself. Unlike in the
<v Speaker 5>base game, you can't just sharpen your ax. You kind
<v Speaker 5>of have to find upgrades that will repair it. Right.
<v Speaker 5>I thought it was pretty fun as this sort of
<v Speaker 5>free offering. It's it's not doing a ton Like I said,
<v Speaker 5>there's not any new content here. You're fighting even the
<v Speaker 5>same bosses from that base game, and like the file
<v Speaker 5>thing you do here is the final boss from the game.
<v Speaker 5>But I also having a good time just kind of
<v Speaker 5>learning what to do, what kind of upgrades I should
<v Speaker 5>focus on to complete one run, and then when I
<v Speaker 5>did that, it's like now you can do like the
<v Speaker 5>next harder difficulty. I'm like, ah, I think I'm good.
<v Speaker 5>I enjoy playing this for maybe a couple hours and
<v Speaker 5>learning the routes, and there's a time limit you can
<v Speaker 5>extend that but you really do. You really need to
<v Speaker 5>take advantage of your time. You have to kind of
<v Speaker 5>explore those areas, find the weapons, find the AMMO, find
<v Speaker 5>the upgrades. But it was just a good excuse to
<v Speaker 5>go in play more. Resume nine. Enjoy that game's very
<v Speaker 5>good combat.
<v Speaker 1>H I'm a big fan of when a company will
<v Speaker 1>take DALC and they just remix the bass game. It
<v Speaker 1>is music to my ears. And speaking about music, folks,
<v Speaker 1>strap in, it's time too talk about mixtape.
<v Speaker 3>Yay boo ooh what.
<v Speaker 6>All right, let's do it, Dan, I want to and
<v Speaker 6>you guys keep me honestly, why is it so weird?
<v Speaker 6>While you guys, I blade on the fan and I
<v Speaker 6>had a lot of feelings and I realized, Okay, this
<v Speaker 6>could very easily be a thing where I go on
<v Speaker 6>the podcast.
<v Speaker 5>Bay by Bay.
<v Speaker 6>This sucks this the ship Bay Bay Bay, And I'm like, okay, no,
<v Speaker 6>I'm an adult. I've done this job for a few
<v Speaker 6>years now.
<v Speaker 4>You're an adult man with a salary and a wife.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I know.
<v Speaker 5>I should be able to wit bragging guys, I get it.
<v Speaker 6>I should be able to articulate the things that annoy
<v Speaker 6>me about this game like an adult and not just
<v Speaker 6>say it sucks.
<v Speaker 4>Well, I guess this is Dan growing up then and.
<v Speaker 6>Again then so okay, let me let me make this clear.
<v Speaker 6>Any any you complain I have about this is not
<v Speaker 6>that like I've heard you told me. There's kind of
<v Speaker 6>that like anti gone Home probably not a real game.
<v Speaker 6>It's walking to me, but that's horsehit. I like Going
<v Speaker 6>Home a lot. There's no complaxhrame.
<v Speaker 2>I saw today you press more buttons in a standard
<v Speaker 2>Stellar Blade combo than you do in the entire Old Ship.
<v Speaker 5>That right, that.
<v Speaker 3>Coming from interesting? Interesting.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I'm starting to realize I am completely out of
<v Speaker 4>the loop on the discourse of this game.
<v Speaker 6>I could stay there, keep going down. So there is
<v Speaker 6>no like a game. There's no games have to be this,
<v Speaker 6>games have to be that has to be hard, you
<v Speaker 6>have to be able to die. It's like, no, it's
<v Speaker 6>none of that stuff. I think it's a tonal thing.
<v Speaker 6>I think it's a writing thing, and I think it's
<v Speaker 6>a I think I hate pandury nostalgia. You know, I
<v Speaker 6>love retro stuff as much fossil. I'm constantly playing games
<v Speaker 6>from the nineties. I'm constantly watching wrestling from the nineties.
<v Speaker 6>I love my nostalgia. I like to, you know, play
<v Speaker 6>the actual and watch the actual things from back then.
<v Speaker 6>I don't necessarily need my modern entertainment to be spoon
<v Speaker 6>feeding it to me, you know. I feel like that
<v Speaker 6>happens a lot. I don't like stranger things. I think
<v Speaker 6>there's a lot of stuff that panders to a certain
<v Speaker 6>type of forty something like me that I find a
<v Speaker 6>little pandury.
<v Speaker 3>And this one too.
<v Speaker 6>They're like the phrase it insists upon itself pops into
<v Speaker 6>my head a lot when I'm playing this game. I
<v Speaker 6>played about half of it based on you know, like
<v Speaker 6>an hour and a half, but on the plane I
<v Speaker 6>heard it's like three hours long. And it's like, right
<v Speaker 6>from the get go, it's like, first of all, I
<v Speaker 6>don't like these characters at all. I don't like the
<v Speaker 6>way they talk, I don't like the way they act.
<v Speaker 6>I don't like anything about them. And it's the part
<v Speaker 6>where like when the first minute or two, the main
<v Speaker 6>character turns to look at the camera to look at
<v Speaker 6>the player and says like, soon you won't just be
<v Speaker 6>listening to music, You'll be listening to.
<v Speaker 3>Who you were.
<v Speaker 6>And it's like, okay, we're speaking to a very specific
<v Speaker 6>nostalgia here. I didn't listen to this music. I didn't
<v Speaker 6>hang out with people like these goobers. I didn't do
<v Speaker 6>the things these people do. This is not speaking to
<v Speaker 6>my youth, and like to look at me if this
<v Speaker 6>is what we were all like in the nineties, right,
<v Speaker 6>and it's like, no, that's very annoying to me. Also,
<v Speaker 6>you know the movie Baby Driver, Yes, I didn't like
<v Speaker 6>that movie at all. I know it was like well
<v Speaker 6>received and stuff, but I didn't like it. It felt
<v Speaker 6>to me like it was the showcase of like Edgar
<v Speaker 6>Wright or whatever, like let me showcase my eclectic taste
<v Speaker 6>and music and stuff, and like basically I'm going to
<v Speaker 6>force a playlist upon you. You know this very much
<v Speaker 6>feels like that, but even more deliberate, where it's like
<v Speaker 6>every single fucking chapter that character is like looking at you.
<v Speaker 3>And I know characters supposed to be music supervisors to
<v Speaker 3>players and the like what her role is and or
<v Speaker 3>whatever passion is.
<v Speaker 6>But it's like to look at the player and be
<v Speaker 6>like this next song from Devo is like this, it's
<v Speaker 6>the perfect hangout vibe or whatever it's like, so it
<v Speaker 6>really fits this next scene. It's like to have a
<v Speaker 6>character look at me as I'm playing, and explain to
<v Speaker 6>me why this was a cool choice for the soundtrack
<v Speaker 6>for this next scene drove me insane. I like, show,
<v Speaker 6>don't tell. Like it is a good soundtrack like these,
<v Speaker 6>It's good, but like a it just feels pandery. It
<v Speaker 6>feels like it insists upon itself. It very much does
<v Speaker 6>the you know grub. We've talked about Red Dead two
<v Speaker 6>a lot where it's like, you know, not that this
<v Speaker 6>is trying to be an open world game like Red
<v Speaker 6>Dead two, but like it's like, Okay, I'm trying to
<v Speaker 6>go down the stairs in the house and my character's
<v Speaker 6>like Hugh Campbell yet because like, oh I got to
<v Speaker 6>go look at a VCR or a Polaroid or a
<v Speaker 6>CD or hey remember the nineties.
<v Speaker 5>You know.
<v Speaker 3>It's just like it is a very on rails experience.
<v Speaker 6>It is a very like let me show you the
<v Speaker 6>music I listened to, let me show you the things
<v Speaker 6>I'm nostalgic for, with very unlikable characters. It I just
<v Speaker 6>there was nothing in it for me. There is an
<v Speaker 6>undeniable style to it. The direction is great, the soundtrack
<v Speaker 6>is very good, I think, but I'd say I just
<v Speaker 6>was getting annoyed the entire time I was playing rather
<v Speaker 6>than enjoying it.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I think I'm not surprised by any of that.
<v Speaker 2>As it was playing like Dan's gonna hate this, Like
<v Speaker 2>yeah it was, and like and I'm I think a
<v Speaker 2>lot of people are going to have this reaction of
<v Speaker 2>this does not speak to me, and it thinks it
<v Speaker 2>does and that bothers me. And it's like that that
<v Speaker 2>I won't be surprised by because it's like, yeah, for me,
<v Speaker 2>I usually play these things or watch things like this,
<v Speaker 2>like like a lot of Wes Anderson movies, I think
<v Speaker 2>try to like have this artifice put on top of them.
<v Speaker 3>And I think that's what it's going for.
<v Speaker 2>In those moments where she's turning the camera, you said,
<v Speaker 2>that's that's like you show not or show not tell,
<v Speaker 2>and it is.
<v Speaker 3>It is doing that.
<v Speaker 2>It is showing, but it's showing like what she thinks
<v Speaker 2>her life is going to be when she's a music supervisor,
<v Speaker 2>and she's acting that way in the way that like
<v Speaker 2>kids play at this idea of what they think the
<v Speaker 2>real world's going to be like and what their job's
<v Speaker 2>going to be like before they get there. That's what
<v Speaker 2>they're trying to get across and that's obnoxious. When kids
<v Speaker 2>do that, that's embarrassing. And that's the thing that I
<v Speaker 2>think a lot of people are going to be repulsed by.
<v Speaker 5>Here.
<v Speaker 3>For me, it's like, I see that, and I have kids.
<v Speaker 2>Who are quickly growing, They're moving into this age very fast,
<v Speaker 2>and as a piece of thing that like understands what
<v Speaker 2>it's like to be awkward and young and overconfident and
<v Speaker 2>trying to move from one period of your life that
<v Speaker 2>you are that you have like a love for, but
<v Speaker 2>you also know that you want to move on and
<v Speaker 2>go to New York City and have the rest of
<v Speaker 2>your life begin any moment. Like American Graffiti, I think
<v Speaker 2>it does a good job of capturing all of those
<v Speaker 2>emotions in a way that I was pretty impressed by it.
<v Speaker 2>It is not a very good encapsulation of what it
<v Speaker 2>was like to be young in the nineties. It is
<v Speaker 2>a sort of it is a facsimile, and I think
<v Speaker 2>it gets that across by like in the moments when
<v Speaker 2>they're sitting in the car, driving around, hanging out with
<v Speaker 2>each other, it's fake. They're sitting at a fake car
<v Speaker 2>on a movie set with rear projection behind them and
<v Speaker 2>they're playing at these feelings and it's like for me,
<v Speaker 2>it's like, Okay, it knows.
<v Speaker 3>What it's doing.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, And so it's playing it over the tops of
<v Speaker 2>fantasy for an effect. It's a childhood fantasy, and and
<v Speaker 2>that she is curating it for presentation the way that
<v Speaker 2>she wants to have the job of being a music supervisor.
<v Speaker 2>That's her dream job, which is someone who picks out
<v Speaker 2>music for movies and television shows and stuff like that.
<v Speaker 2>And she's doing that with her entire life. And I
<v Speaker 2>think if that is what they're going for, they nailed it.
<v Speaker 2>And then the small little gameplay vignettes that you do,
<v Speaker 2>like skipping stones, chuck shooting that in the quick look,
<v Speaker 2>all that stuff is like really well done. The shopping
<v Speaker 2>cart sequence was fun to play for me. I'm like,
<v Speaker 2>I like moving this thing around, so it is not
<v Speaker 2>so it's definitely not that perfect encapsulation what was like
<v Speaker 2>for me. I don't recognize a lot of these people
<v Speaker 2>for my youth, but I like as like a sort
<v Speaker 2>of cross generational.
<v Speaker 3>Attempt to explain what it's like in that moment. I
<v Speaker 3>think it's mostly nailing it.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, And I don't think it's a bad I think.
<v Speaker 6>You know, probably a lot of it just boils down to,
<v Speaker 6>like I would have hated these people in high school,
<v Speaker 6>you know, Like I just they seem very obnoxious and pretentious,
<v Speaker 6>and like I would have just like avoided them like
<v Speaker 6>the plague. And maybe that's like I just see this
<v Speaker 6>and I see these characters in the game, and I'm like, oh,
<v Speaker 6>maybe that's where this is kind of perfect what he was.
<v Speaker 3>You know, I would have I would have avoided them too.
<v Speaker 2>But I'm at a point in my life now where
<v Speaker 2>I look back it's like, oh, I could see that
<v Speaker 2>they were just as insecure as they were dealing with
<v Speaker 2>all the same things I was.
<v Speaker 3>And now I'm like ready to like listen to them
<v Speaker 3>a little bit more.
<v Speaker 5>You know.
<v Speaker 4>My theory, my theory of like you are your worst
<v Speaker 4>version of yourself between the ages of like fifteen and
<v Speaker 4>like twenty four, right, Like that's basically right. So I also,
<v Speaker 4>I guess I'm what I'm sort of extracting here is
<v Speaker 4>like I'm kind of surprised in which at the seriousness
<v Speaker 4>in which people are sort of absorbing this this experience.
<v Speaker 4>I find that a little fascinating, And I don't know,
<v Speaker 4>like it's just not it is not what it has
<v Speaker 4>occurred to me. And obviously everyone should be able, uh
<v Speaker 4>to experience this thing in the way that they feel
<v Speaker 4>like they need to. I guess I am surprised that
<v Speaker 4>people from what you're describing to like having this kind
<v Speaker 4>of reaction.
<v Speaker 5>I don't know.
<v Speaker 4>I feel like I'm just kind of like letting it happen,
<v Speaker 4>and I'm finding it to be like a very uh
<v Speaker 4>you know, like I said, it is a fantasy game
<v Speaker 4>for sure, and I think in that regard, I find
<v Speaker 4>it to be like pretty engaging and I'm kind of
<v Speaker 4>digging it. I don't this isn't going to change my
<v Speaker 4>life in any way, but I think I think it
<v Speaker 4>is doing what it is like setting out to do.
<v Speaker 4>And I and you know, I'm playing. It's like it's
<v Speaker 4>also the first game in many, many many years that
<v Speaker 4>I've like you know, convinced my wife to sit down
<v Speaker 4>and like be like, yo, hey, you know, check this out,
<v Speaker 4>like look what they're look what they're doing with the
<v Speaker 4>video games now, like you know, and you know, uh,
<v Speaker 4>she's obviously she's snickering a lot at the music supervisor
<v Speaker 4>stuff where she's like, I have to send this to
<v Speaker 4>a bunch of music supervisors. Yeah, and yeah, I think
<v Speaker 4>it's like, uh, I don't know, it's just kind of
<v Speaker 4>comfort food, no steaks, really just saccharine in a way
<v Speaker 4>that I'm like, yeah, yeah, I can't identify necessarily like
<v Speaker 4>again because I'm not looking for this weight in it, right,
<v Speaker 4>Like I'm not sure I'm not saying like, oh, are
<v Speaker 4>they accurately depicting you know, the nineties. I kind of
<v Speaker 4>think like the target is a little all over the
<v Speaker 4>map of like all of the time period is is
<v Speaker 4>it doesn't matter right, Like, uh so yeah, I think
<v Speaker 4>I'm I'm I'm like really able to find like a
<v Speaker 4>lot of comfort in that experience with it. And yeah,
<v Speaker 4>like the moment to moment stuff is sort of not
<v Speaker 4>the most like overly engaging, but I think it has
<v Speaker 4>a lot of like clever tricks up it's gonna.
<v Speaker 3>For too long, you know.
<v Speaker 4>And that was the thing too, where like, uh, this
<v Speaker 4>has been this has been a game many times and
<v Speaker 4>I'm probably maybe like we're probably too hours into it
<v Speaker 4>where I'm like, oh, here's states like take this, do
<v Speaker 4>do this, do this thing, you know, like started with
<v Speaker 4>the tongues and stuff that, Yeah, and I think for
<v Speaker 4>those reasons, it's pretty great. I you know, I think
<v Speaker 4>I am gonna stay away from any kind of like
<v Speaker 4>other analysis of this just because I think it's me
<v Speaker 4>maybe a waste of time.
<v Speaker 5>I don't know.
<v Speaker 4>Uh, but uh yeah, that's that's my take. I fooled you.
<v Speaker 1>You.
<v Speaker 4>I bet everyone thought I was gonna.
<v Speaker 5>Hate this ship.
<v Speaker 3>No.
<v Speaker 5>No, we thought you'd like, yeah, yeah, it's fun.
<v Speaker 1>So I haven't spent too much time with the game yet,
<v Speaker 1>but I have a major question, Grub, you've you've beat.
<v Speaker 3>This yet or no? I played. I played quite a bit.
<v Speaker 3>Then I've been playing some other stuff for work. But yes,
<v Speaker 3>copy copy.
<v Speaker 1>At any point, does the main character explain why she
<v Speaker 1>wears these headphones fucking backwards?
<v Speaker 4>I dude, I thought that for a second the first
<v Speaker 4>time I saw them. The costs right there, the cost on. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I thought that for a second, and I was like, oh,
<v Speaker 4>maybe I'm just getting it all backwards.
<v Speaker 5>She is, huh she wears a backwards.
<v Speaker 3>Left right there.
<v Speaker 4>Now I'm back on the criticism when I go, uh, Grub.
<v Speaker 6>You said something earlier. I have been thinking about this
<v Speaker 6>where it's like they are teenagers. They are supposed to
<v Speaker 6>be like of course you would be kind of like
<v Speaker 6>almost a little pretentious without She discusses like one.
<v Speaker 3>Of yeah, and you know what, I think they know everything. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>that did make me think.
<v Speaker 6>I bet at that age, these characters in the game
<v Speaker 6>are supposed to be sixteen, seventeen or whatever. If you
<v Speaker 6>asked me anything about Tarantino or Kubrick or something, I
<v Speaker 6>bet I would be insufferable about it.
<v Speaker 3>I bet I know.
<v Speaker 5>I bet I would talk about.
<v Speaker 6>How like when I was making my little video announcements
<v Speaker 6>and short films and stuff back then, I was like, oh,
<v Speaker 6>so here this is a very Cooper guest shut or
<v Speaker 6>something like, I bet I would have done that shit.
<v Speaker 6>So it's like and that way, Yeah, maybe it is
<v Speaker 6>kind of an maybe that can be both like these
<v Speaker 6>characters are unlikable, but also this is an accurate depiction.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, and etistic.
<v Speaker 2>You know, I think where you like the lineup for you,
<v Speaker 2>dan Is is you would not probably make a video
<v Speaker 2>game or a movie about yourself at that age. Probably
<v Speaker 2>not like because it's like you like that, I would
<v Speaker 2>be in so or thinking about the insufferable part of you.
<v Speaker 2>This game wants to explore that stuff and kind of
<v Speaker 2>like get at that feeling of life is moving on.
<v Speaker 2>I mean the touchstone for me is American graffiti.
<v Speaker 5>I have.
<v Speaker 3>I see a lot of American graffiti.
<v Speaker 2>And I think it's like a pretty good nineties ish
<v Speaker 2>version of American graffiti of people are people are moving on?
<v Speaker 2>Everyone's got their feelings about that. This one person that
<v Speaker 2>keeps saying they want to move on? Like, where where
<v Speaker 2>does that leave me? I've been your whole life and
<v Speaker 2>and it's like, yeah, that's that is actually universal. People
<v Speaker 2>are everywhere are going to be related to that. This
<v Speaker 2>game was made by people in Australia about these kids
<v Speaker 2>in California. It's like, yeah, I think emotionally it's very true.
<v Speaker 2>And it's it all comes down to whether or not
<v Speaker 2>that is something that you want to be thinking about
<v Speaker 2>or exploring.
<v Speaker 4>There's never a moment in your life that you think
<v Speaker 4>matters more, but in reality matters matters less. Yes, And
<v Speaker 4>that's that time of life that this game I think
<v Speaker 4>is portraying for sure.
<v Speaker 6>And I don't think I ever had angst. You know,
<v Speaker 6>whenever I hear the phrase teen angst or whatever, I've
<v Speaker 6>like googled, like what is angst? And like, I don't
<v Speaker 6>think I've ever had this so like, I think it's
<v Speaker 6>just like I don't think that, you know, I relate
<v Speaker 6>to that at all.
<v Speaker 3>So maybe that's part of my reason I can't find
<v Speaker 3>myself enjoying this.
<v Speaker 1>You know.
<v Speaker 3>Yep, yeah, I am not surprised playing it that people
<v Speaker 3>are having these feelings about it. A lot of people do.
<v Speaker 2>I think the first thing I said when we talked
<v Speaker 2>about it last week, Jan Mike, I think I was saying, like,
<v Speaker 2>this game is not going to be for everybody, and
<v Speaker 2>you could just tell you. And then the first thing
<v Speaker 2>you said to me was I don't want dance to please.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah. Wait, did I handle this responsible?
<v Speaker 5>Well?
<v Speaker 3>Lots of instructive criticism, you explored your own feelings about it.
<v Speaker 3>I'm happy with this conversation. Well done. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I think the personally, you know, knowing the developers that
<v Speaker 1>they that they're Australian and that this game takes place
<v Speaker 1>in Northern California of like a mishmash of like eighties
<v Speaker 1>and nineties stuff, it does speak to it being like
<v Speaker 1>a fantasy, right, Yes, so I can't. I was of
<v Speaker 1>ready to be like annoyed with this game only like
<v Speaker 1>an hour or so in, and God, I was ready
<v Speaker 1>for this to be too aggressively white. And it does
<v Speaker 1>bear Yeah it is and and it is and there
<v Speaker 1>are parts of it that way. But if anything, my
<v Speaker 1>the the takeaway that I'm I'm running with this is that, like, okay, cool,
<v Speaker 1>these are two people or a group of developers paying
<v Speaker 1>homage to a very specific time kind of like not
<v Speaker 1>specifically nostalgia bait, but like hearkening back to a time
<v Speaker 1>that was maybe positive for them, very formative for them
<v Speaker 1>in their lives to how they are now. And if anything,
<v Speaker 1>the takeaway that I am with this is that, like, yo,
<v Speaker 1>there is a an outlet folks at home to make
<v Speaker 1>a game that is kind of like hearkening back to
<v Speaker 1>your own childhood. This makes me think of gosh grub,
<v Speaker 1>what was the game last year? The football game? Yes,
<v Speaker 1>dispolote uh, and it just uh further emphasizes uh that
<v Speaker 1>video games can be a fantastic vehicle for telling a
<v Speaker 1>story over the space of like two plus hours. And
<v Speaker 1>I love backlar that this is a game that you
<v Speaker 1>wanted to show to Stace of like hey, like look
<v Speaker 1>at this, look at how they're doing this, because the
<v Speaker 1>game is gorgeous. But for folks out there they'll want
<v Speaker 1>to explore people of color stories. I highly suggest you
<v Speaker 1>check out Venba Venba.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, Despelode if this if you're looking at this and
<v Speaker 2>side eye in it and you're like, I bet, I
<v Speaker 2>would feel like Dan Despelode is sort of an antidote
<v Speaker 2>to this. It's it does something very similar, but in
<v Speaker 2>a way that it's like you, you are probably if
<v Speaker 2>you're listening to this, chance are you're probably not gonna
<v Speaker 2>relate to anything of it. And something about that makes
<v Speaker 2>all the stuff where it's like, oh, the parts where
<v Speaker 2>it does relate, like oh they have a mom, you
<v Speaker 2>will relate to that. You'll latch onto that stuff and
<v Speaker 2>you'll see all the emotional truth in there, and that
<v Speaker 2>game is so good at that stuff.
<v Speaker 6>Someone make the mixtape for me, which is just a
<v Speaker 6>character playing a bunch of soul caliber and watching Conan O'Brien.
<v Speaker 1>I was thinking if instead of music, what if it's
<v Speaker 1>just like teens doing a backyard wrestling league.
<v Speaker 3>That Yeah, it's pretty fun. Yeah, just like and there's
<v Speaker 3>just one kid just doing like the sucking motion all
<v Speaker 3>the time. Yeah, there we go. It's a button, there's
<v Speaker 3>like a face button that's just sucking.
<v Speaker 5>Person and a crowd holding up a sign with Cartman
<v Speaker 5>on it the least people to ever live exactly.
<v Speaker 1>Also, I'm I'm a little bit upsetti spaghetti guys. It's May,
<v Speaker 1>It's a p I month, and no one has wished
<v Speaker 1>me an ap I month. Happy a PI anniversary, No motherfucker.
<v Speaker 1>But I also suggest on the Venba Despiloti train to
<v Speaker 1>check out until then a game about the Philippines. So, yeah, gang,
<v Speaker 1>anything else we want to talk about before you take
<v Speaker 1>quick break and break?
<v Speaker 5>Now?
<v Speaker 1>All right, fine, I'm going to face the black. Now
<v Speaker 1>we want to talk to you about Beta Hat for
<v Speaker 1>a second. They're a market research firm and friends of
<v Speaker 1>ours whose job it is to make sure that when
<v Speaker 1>the biggest studios and publishers in the industry are making
<v Speaker 1>big decisions about a game, feature, a direction, those decisions
<v Speaker 1>are informed by what real players actually think, not assumptions,
<v Speaker 1>not gut instinct, real feedback from real people.
<v Speaker 2>The Beta hat research community is how you become one
<v Speaker 2>of those people. You join, you get invited to surveys,
<v Speaker 2>focus groups, play tests, You share your opinions, and those
<v Speaker 2>opinions go directly into research that lands on the desks
<v Speaker 2>of the people making games you care about. By participating
<v Speaker 2>in these tests, not only do you get paid for
<v Speaker 2>your time, but your voice shapes the future of games.
<v Speaker 1>If you've ever wanted your voice to actually matter in
<v Speaker 1>this industry, this is how. Head to Beta hat rc
<v Speaker 1>dot com and when you sign up, tell them Giant
<v Speaker 1>Bomb sent you no seriously, tell them when you sign up,
<v Speaker 1>make sure you select giin Bomb when asked how did
<v Speaker 1>you hear about Beta Hat? Thanks Beta Hat. You know,
<v Speaker 1>there's there's conversations that folks miss out on the breaks
<v Speaker 1>in between the segments. Uh, general epiphanies. I feel like
<v Speaker 1>we all become closer as a group during these and
<v Speaker 1>I'm sad that folks don't get to witness it. But Mike,
<v Speaker 1>you had a realization over the little break we just had.
<v Speaker 5>Okay, I don't know he had a question. I don't
<v Speaker 5>know if he's had the realization. And the dk rap
<v Speaker 5>I had I think I did. Uh the voice we
<v Speaker 5>ever singing? I don't know who sings the dk rap.
<v Speaker 5>The disembodied voice says, come on, cranky, take it to
<v Speaker 5>the fridge. Is what I've always heard.
<v Speaker 3>That's what he said.
<v Speaker 5>Like that is is that actually a saying.
<v Speaker 2>You said, is that the first time anyone's said that
<v Speaker 2>to take it to the fridge? You were like, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>saying this, I was busy doing something else and I
<v Speaker 2>double taked to be like, are you being serious right now?
<v Speaker 5>Yeah? And then and you said it's bridge, and from
<v Speaker 5>amost like, why would it be bridge? Oh, a musical bridge.
<v Speaker 2>So I was having the same thought yesterday, like, this
<v Speaker 2>is certainly not the first time someone said take it
<v Speaker 2>to the bridge. In a song, take it to the
<v Speaker 2>Fridge goes back to James Brown and constantly right, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>song does that?
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I heard, I've heard fridge so much. That's weird.
<v Speaker 3>Man, Mike might be the person on the planet that's
<v Speaker 3>the least like James Brown.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, actually, you know what, Yeah, let's look it up.
<v Speaker 5>I almost want to double down. I think he says
<v Speaker 5>fridge because I've heard.
<v Speaker 6>They say fridge, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike in DK rap
<v Speaker 6>it's fridge. It's a silly, goofy parody rap. I'm gonna
<v Speaker 6>look up they say fridge and dk rap. But if
<v Speaker 6>you take it to the bridge. It was a frequent
<v Speaker 6>James Ramp thing, and it's like the bridge of the song. Okay,
<v Speaker 6>I'm not hearing it, right, I'm not insanely crazy.
<v Speaker 5>He does say take it to the fridge, but cranky
<v Speaker 5>take it to the fridge, and that is and then
<v Speaker 5>they talk about all the it's a food, got the
<v Speaker 5>word for food for a second there, talk.
<v Speaker 3>About the.
<v Speaker 5>Okay, this games baby breaking my brain?
<v Speaker 3>All right.
<v Speaker 5>So he does say fridge, and it's a play on
<v Speaker 5>people saying take it to the bridge. Yes, I've got
<v Speaker 5>it all figured out. Now you learn.
<v Speaker 3>That's good.
<v Speaker 5>This COG's one hell of a guy.
<v Speaker 4>You were walking around thinking, uh, take it to the
<v Speaker 4>fridge was like a thing people said in songs everywhere.
<v Speaker 5>I take it to the fridge.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, what do you do with your groceries when
<v Speaker 1>you come back from the store, Come on the fridge.
<v Speaker 5>I take it to the pantry because I don't have
<v Speaker 5>too many. I know that, all right?
<v Speaker 6>Well, I also living in the fridge by weird now
<v Speaker 6>you're probably familiar with.
<v Speaker 3>It's actually based on living on the edge.
<v Speaker 5>Everywhere with that, and so I'm out here. Every time
<v Speaker 5>I try to watch Cowboy Bebop on Adult Swim, it
<v Speaker 5>was always the fridge episode every time I try.
<v Speaker 3>To watch it.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, everything you need the rest of these you need
<v Speaker 1>the rest For folks that have like watched a lot
<v Speaker 1>of GB stuff. I think a constant question I asked
<v Speaker 1>guests is do you think we could beat the Harlem
<v Speaker 1>Globetrotters just two Harlem Globetrotters?
<v Speaker 5>Uh?
<v Speaker 3>And I think what versus two? But here's the one
<v Speaker 3>would be toast. Here's the thing I think I've highlighted.
<v Speaker 1>One of the issues is because Mike rejects any type
<v Speaker 1>of yes and including an alley oop.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I want to do that thing that you could
<v Speaker 5>do an NBA street where you just bounce it off
<v Speaker 5>the board to yourself.
<v Speaker 3>Right, Yes, dinner serves it's funny, but Mike's like, I think,
<v Speaker 3>but no, it is so much funnier. It's like, of
<v Speaker 3>course you do the joke ins with you.
<v Speaker 5>That's the whole point that James Bond's parent. Oh ideas
<v Speaker 5>everyone gets to have fun and you don't like that.
<v Speaker 5>You know how much food I just put in all
<v Speaker 5>your families last night and this is the thanks.
<v Speaker 3>Again. Mike's making it about himself, I think some and
<v Speaker 3>has a little bit of main character syndrome.
<v Speaker 5>A Reddit commenters are all black. Oh there's other options, eh.
<v Speaker 3>Anyways, the news.
<v Speaker 5>Our shirts come and Christis are all palate, and I
<v Speaker 5>take them all responsibly.
<v Speaker 3>Thank you, Mikey. Guys, just stay off the reddit. This
<v Speaker 3>one was not his fault. I brought this one to
<v Speaker 3>his attention. He's innocent.
<v Speaker 2>Here eBay rejects game stops fifty six billion dollar takeover.
<v Speaker 3>What do you mean?
<v Speaker 1>Uh?
<v Speaker 2>The they basically they weren't even being nice. You know,
<v Speaker 2>the Times were like they're gonna gat those couches nice language.
<v Speaker 2>They just said, this offer is neither credible nor attractive.
<v Speaker 2>You're just like you were just nothing in credible. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>you're fugly. Get out of here. Uh, this is just
<v Speaker 2>this is what happens when someone in charge of a
<v Speaker 2>memes doc is like, I'm gonna go do real business,
<v Speaker 2>and the other real businesses are like, what get out
<v Speaker 2>of here? Teenager? Peppley teenager trying to get a loan
<v Speaker 2>at the bank for their nut punching machine, Like, what.
<v Speaker 3>Are you talking about?
<v Speaker 5>How did you get in here?
<v Speaker 3>How'd you get here? I mean literally, that's the energy
<v Speaker 3>they have here is who lets you here? From the
<v Speaker 3>GI vault too? This is the same guy. Ryan Cohen's
<v Speaker 3>a piece of ship.
<v Speaker 2>He is a piece of he was, so, Yeah, he
<v Speaker 2>stole stuff for his own collection and then was selling
<v Speaker 2>it to pay for this, which.
<v Speaker 3>Which has been reported accurately.
<v Speaker 6>A lot of the stuff in that vault was from
<v Speaker 6>Gi out of there's personal collections that we just wanted
<v Speaker 6>to have a piece of history and be as full
<v Speaker 6>as possible.
<v Speaker 3>So he gives a bad person. Yeah, even if it
<v Speaker 3>wasn't it belonged to Game Informer. It's not yours. Get
<v Speaker 3>out of here.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, just absolute trash behavior from a trash person. And
<v Speaker 2>he's kind of getting laughed out of school here a
<v Speaker 2>little bit that. Not much else to this at this point.
<v Speaker 2>This is kind of where this This was always gonna
<v Speaker 2>end up. We talked about it last week. It was
<v Speaker 2>just a half stack, half stock, half cash offer fifty
<v Speaker 2>six million dollars. When he was asked, asked like where
<v Speaker 2>the rest of the money would come from, because like
<v Speaker 2>the Matthew was presenting didn't add up. He didn't have
<v Speaker 2>any answers in a TV interview. And the funniest part
<v Speaker 2>of it was apparently Michael Burry, who was a Game
<v Speaker 2>Stop investor because he's like, I could see where the
<v Speaker 2>meme stock is going, was watching and immediately sold all
<v Speaker 2>of his game stop stock, and the when he wrote
<v Speaker 2>a newsletter about that, the stock price.
<v Speaker 3>Dropped like ten percent instantly. That's the.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, exactly, Michael Burry being the guy who was played
<v Speaker 2>by Christian Bale in the Big Short movie.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, oh, the drummer. Okay, that's the drummer.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 5>All right, Well, not all bad news out there, I guess. Yep, exactly,
<v Speaker 5>all right.
<v Speaker 2>So more stuff is happening elsewhere. Sega cancels It's super game.
<v Speaker 2>Remember that one guys. Sega confirmed the cancelation of its
<v Speaker 2>big budget super game initiative, which at one point they
<v Speaker 2>talked about having spent something around eight hundred and eighty
<v Speaker 2>two million dollars to make, or that's what that was
<v Speaker 2>the plan. They were going to spend eight hundred and
<v Speaker 2>eighty two million dollars. This is them just saying, hey,
<v Speaker 2>we are shifting away from this idea of the future
<v Speaker 2>is big live service, triple A games that cost a
<v Speaker 2>ton of money to make.
<v Speaker 5>And it's like a little late to the party there,
<v Speaker 5>But you're right, that's probably correct.
<v Speaker 2>They are basically saying that while they're full game sales
<v Speaker 2>right now, they have full game premium price games. There's
<v Speaker 2>the sales for those, the revenue down about twelve percent
<v Speaker 2>year over year. They're saying that's because we got distracted.
<v Speaker 2>We're going all in on that stuff with like smaller,
<v Speaker 2>more targeted games. We're just gonna make games to.
<v Speaker 3>Sell to people.
<v Speaker 2>That's the new strategy. So my memory was the super
<v Speaker 2>Game was some combination of Crazy Taxi and Jet Grind Radio.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, apparently that's not what this was.
<v Speaker 2>This was some other thing and Jet Grind Radio, Crazy Taxi,
<v Speaker 2>a bunch of other games are still on their slate
<v Speaker 2>as coming separate from this.
<v Speaker 3>So that is or is it?
<v Speaker 5>Like? Because I always thought they were positioning those as
<v Speaker 5>part of this initiative, and maybe they're like, well, that's stupid.
<v Speaker 5>Why would we make eight hundred million dollar budget crazy
<v Speaker 5>taxi game that's a live surface. Let's just make a
<v Speaker 5>crazy Taxi game.
<v Speaker 2>I think that that's where I was as well. I
<v Speaker 2>think you might still be right. The point The problem
<v Speaker 2>here is it was never very clear. It was always
<v Speaker 2>vague what Super Game meant, and they did not clarify
<v Speaker 2>it here. This was just sort of a line item
<v Speaker 2>of them being like, we're moving on from this, don't
<v Speaker 2>worry about it, and I remember there was.
<v Speaker 6>Like a weird like SGF or Game Awards trailer or
<v Speaker 6>something where it was like showing a bunch of people
<v Speaker 6>like playing in the background you would see like crazy
<v Speaker 6>Taxi five games and yeah, yeah, so it's a great.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah are these all separate games? Is this the their
<v Speaker 6>super game?
<v Speaker 2>Like it's very very confusing, Right, So that was a
<v Speaker 2>crazy Taxi, Golden Axe, jet Set Radio, I said, I
<v Speaker 2>think of sandret Grind Radio, jet Set Radio, Streets of Rage,
<v Speaker 2>and then Shanobi.
<v Speaker 3>Shanoby did come out.
<v Speaker 2>Uh, these other four are still listed as coming, as
<v Speaker 2>well as that Virtual Fighter, Project, Persona for Revival, Total War,
<v Speaker 2>Medieval Three, Warhammer forty forty K, Stranger than Heaven, and
<v Speaker 2>Alien Isolation. So they listed all these it's still coming.
<v Speaker 2>None of those have been scrapped alongside this thing. That's
<v Speaker 2>a nice That looks like a pretty good lineup to me.
<v Speaker 2>That Shanobe game was great. If more of these retro
<v Speaker 2>revivals are of a similar quality, that's fantastic. I bet
<v Speaker 2>we're gonna hear about a new biggest Sonic game soon. Right,
<v Speaker 2>It's been a while now since Frontier. We had Superstars
<v Speaker 2>in the racing game. After that, it's probably time for
<v Speaker 2>the next.
<v Speaker 3>Three D one.
<v Speaker 5>So yeah, I think you should just make video games.
<v Speaker 3>Shanoby should be the blueprint.
<v Speaker 6>Like, hey, he just made a game that's kind of
<v Speaker 6>like in the style or inspiration of Schanoby, but it's
<v Speaker 6>not like slavish to the way it played or looked.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, and it just kicked ass. I forget. Was that
<v Speaker 3>internal Sega or do they just they worked with lizard
<v Speaker 3>Cube on it, but you know, they published it and
<v Speaker 3>it was.
<v Speaker 2>More internal than the extruets of Rage four, which is
<v Speaker 2>a similar concept, but they like kind of let someone
<v Speaker 2>else take all that, yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Exactly, and they let someone else handle all the business there,
<v Speaker 3>all right.
<v Speaker 2>Nintendo is trying to soften the switch to price hike,
<v Speaker 2>which is also was announced in the last week. So
<v Speaker 2>it's going from four hundred and fifty dollars to five
<v Speaker 2>hundred dollars on September first.
<v Speaker 3>In most of the world. It's going to go up
<v Speaker 3>in price like.
<v Speaker 2>One hundred or the equivalent of one hundred dollars ish
<v Speaker 2>in Japan sooner than that, I think by the end
<v Speaker 2>of May. But as part of their apology here for
<v Speaker 2>softening the blow, they're immediately announcing that, even before the
<v Speaker 2>price hike ticks effect, they're going to sell a five
<v Speaker 2>hundred dollars bundle that has a pick your own game
<v Speaker 2>sort of digital copy of either Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong, Bonanza,
<v Speaker 2>or Pacopia. Oh, and that kind of felt like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>that was always the strategy of having that five hundred
<v Speaker 2>dollars bundle thing with Mario Kart, that could always transform
<v Speaker 2>into something else.
<v Speaker 3>Here it is they're raising the price, but now you
<v Speaker 3>get a game at.
<v Speaker 2>The five hundred dollars price point alongside it still, so
<v Speaker 2>it's like not that different than what it once was.
<v Speaker 2>This is going to be well timed though, because we
<v Speaker 2>saw what the PlayStation five price increase. There was a
<v Speaker 2>couple of days before that took effect, and even after
<v Speaker 2>it took effect, the previous stock was still selling. For
<v Speaker 2>the original MSRP, people rushed out and got those and
<v Speaker 2>gobbled them all up very quickly, to the point where
<v Speaker 2>PlayStation saw a significant increase in sales that week. There
<v Speaker 2>is a long time now between now and September first, really,
<v Speaker 2>and so the switch is probably going to sell very
<v Speaker 2>well between now and then, and being able to get
<v Speaker 2>Pacopia or Donkey Kong Bonanza with it is certainly going
<v Speaker 2>to move those things.
<v Speaker 3>I think Pacopia is gonna move that shit like hotcakes.
<v Speaker 3>I think so too.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, I think people have certainly been weighing. A lot
<v Speaker 2>of people couldn't wait because they were so excited about it. Well,
<v Speaker 2>now if you did wait, you can save a little
<v Speaker 2>bit of money because you previously you were spending four
<v Speaker 2>hundred and fifty dollars for the system or five hundred
<v Speaker 2>dollars to get Mario Kart with it that if you
<v Speaker 2>could still find that bundle athough that bundle is off
<v Speaker 2>and on. Now you go, okay, I'll save twenty thirty
<v Speaker 2>bucks by getting this five hundred dollars bundle with the
<v Speaker 2>game included, and that will encourage people to make those moves.
<v Speaker 2>You know, question is after the price goes up, like,
<v Speaker 2>what is the demand for switch to after that? It's
<v Speaker 2>it's a pretty hot item still right now, and it
<v Speaker 2>does not have Grand Theft Auto six waiting for it
<v Speaker 2>in the way that PlayStation does on the other side
<v Speaker 2>of its price increases.
<v Speaker 1>I think some of the I was gonna say, I
<v Speaker 1>think some of these games maybe like a slow burn
<v Speaker 1>for people like a lot of people assume that Tomadocci
<v Speaker 1>Life Living the Dream is a switch to title, but
<v Speaker 1>it's just a switch one game.
<v Speaker 2>They did that was part of this financial report recently
<v Speaker 2>they did point out it's sold three point eight million copies.
<v Speaker 2>This is Tomadacci Life Living the dreamt of which we're
<v Speaker 2>on switch to. So it is, you know, our forty
<v Speaker 2>percent of people bought it to play on switch To.
<v Speaker 2>I guess it's the way to say that.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, So it's like it's moving things over there a
<v Speaker 3>little bit.
<v Speaker 5>I do wonder, like, you know, what, what do they
<v Speaker 5>think are the fall games that can maybe up push
<v Speaker 5>things or maybe not if they are you know, projecting
<v Speaker 5>this slow down.
<v Speaker 3>I mean oker Ena of Time.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, they are a time is Yeah, And that seems
<v Speaker 5>like what if that's like the biggest one. It could
<v Speaker 5>be Uker Time remake depending on how hard they go on,
<v Speaker 5>that could be a very big deal.
<v Speaker 1>Is the upcoming Yoshi game and I don't think that's
<v Speaker 1>going to be a system seller? But does that switch
<v Speaker 1>to only believe.
<v Speaker 3>Switch Too Only?
<v Speaker 2>I think the only upcoming app now that Tomodachi Life
<v Speaker 2>is out, I think it's just Rhythm Heaven Groove I
<v Speaker 2>could be wrong, but I think it's just Rhythm Heaven.
<v Speaker 3>Groove that it's a switch one.
<v Speaker 5>That sounds right to me.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, you know, they they're getting ready to move on,
<v Speaker 2>and I think they are seeing that when they put
<v Speaker 2>out games that are switched to only, it is making
<v Speaker 2>a big difference for them.
<v Speaker 3>So they were talking about supporting the switch one for
<v Speaker 3>a long time.
<v Speaker 2>That is probably gonna lighten up here soon. And one
<v Speaker 2>game that is going to be switched to only is
<v Speaker 2>Starfox just called star Fox. It is a remake of
<v Speaker 2>Star Fox sixty four once again. It is coming June twenty.
<v Speaker 3>Fifth, so very soon. It is priced pretty friendly fifty
<v Speaker 3>dollars physical or digital sixty dollars physical. I think.
<v Speaker 2>So it's continuing that trend from Nintendo, which we can
<v Speaker 2>talk about it if you guys want. That feels like
<v Speaker 2>it's a temporary reprieve.
<v Speaker 3>Eventually it's like.
<v Speaker 2>Seventy dollars digital and eighty dollars physical and then ninety
<v Speaker 2>dollars physical. But we'll see it's not. We're not here
<v Speaker 2>yet with that thing. The Star Fox game looks really
<v Speaker 2>good in gameplay, the character models. I have people sort
<v Speaker 2>of like saying some stuff but I think it looks
<v Speaker 2>pretty good. It has a VTuber mode you can play
<v Speaker 2>at the mouse. Oh yeah, what multiplayer's a little bit
<v Speaker 2>expanded where it's four v four online instead of just
<v Speaker 2>like four player free for all. So that's you know, updated,
<v Speaker 2>a little bit more modernized. There is some cool stuff here,
<v Speaker 2>and I also think this is setting the table for
<v Speaker 2>more Starfocks in the future. How do you guys all
<v Speaker 2>you know that we've had some time to digest this
<v Speaker 2>end up feeling about Starfox.
<v Speaker 3>I thought it looked awesome. I think, like I mean,
<v Speaker 3>I've said forever about star Fox, like they had two
<v Speaker 3>good games, then it's all been like not even diminishing returns.
<v Speaker 6>It's been a lot of like weird side like they've
<v Speaker 6>tried to change it more than they needed to and
<v Speaker 6>then remix good remix of sixty four.
<v Speaker 3>You know, they had that great one on three DS.
<v Speaker 6>Starfux zero not my favorite, but I have no problem
<v Speaker 6>with them going back to the well again with this
<v Speaker 6>because it's the best one by far, and they've shown
<v Speaker 6>they don't really know what to do with the series
<v Speaker 6>outside of remaking this one very good game.
<v Speaker 5>And I'm someone who I like Starfux zero. I like
<v Speaker 5>a salt, I like some of those offshoot sixty four
<v Speaker 5>is definitely so the best one. It's incredibly safe to
<v Speaker 5>just remake that game again. Done. It's the same thing
<v Speaker 5>they could have done, Like they could have at least
<v Speaker 5>just made a game like Starfux sixty four, right, that
<v Speaker 5>just plays like that. But I still I can't get
<v Speaker 5>too upset about because I really like Star Fucks sixty
<v Speaker 5>four and this remake does look really good. I like
<v Speaker 5>the way the characters look. I like that they're adding
<v Speaker 5>in things like more cut scenes, is a little bit
<v Speaker 5>more character. Some of the redesigns, like Cat, that's a
<v Speaker 5>great redesign. She looks good. I don't know why I
<v Speaker 5>marked out so much. When Bill showed up, I'm like, hell, yeah, Bill,
<v Speaker 5>that's my guy.
<v Speaker 3>Which one is Bill?
<v Speaker 5>Bill's just like the dude who shows up with that
<v Speaker 5>one vision that's kind of like Independence Day.
<v Speaker 3>That's a great mission.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I love that one.
<v Speaker 3>Right.
<v Speaker 5>God, this is just such a fun game with all
<v Speaker 5>the different routes, And you know, you played the first time,
<v Speaker 5>you probably just get a normal ending. Then you play
<v Speaker 5>it again and you realize, if I do this, I
<v Speaker 5>go over here and it's a little bit harder now
<v Speaker 5>I'm getting this six secret ending and all of a sudden,
<v Speaker 5>I'm in a submarine all that fun stuff. I wonder
<v Speaker 5>how kind of new people are gonna feel about. Oh
<v Speaker 5>I did a play through this game and that only
<v Speaker 5>took fifteen minutes.
<v Speaker 3>What did I just buy?
<v Speaker 5>If they're going to sort of understand what's going here.
<v Speaker 5>I'm curious about that challenge mode. How much replay value
<v Speaker 5>that is going to add on top of it. Yeah,
<v Speaker 5>it's nice to see Star Fucks back. It has been
<v Speaker 5>a while. There's a bit that we're worried, like maybe
<v Speaker 5>they're just done with Starfucks. No, most of these series
<v Speaker 5>do find a way to eventually return, and this seems
<v Speaker 5>like a pretty good way to reintroduce Star Fucks Grab.
<v Speaker 5>You see, people don't want to fuck star Fox anymore.
<v Speaker 2>There's questions among the furry community about whether or not
<v Speaker 2>these characters are fuckable, and I've been I've been asking them,
<v Speaker 2>I've been putting my ear to the ground and back
<v Speaker 2>games like mostly.
<v Speaker 3>No, we mostly know, and there's anger about him not
<v Speaker 3>being you know, our Fox famously pretty fuckable.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, backler, that was my reaction. So the vat
<v Speaker 1>want to f Star fox Y. Yeah, and I guess,
<v Speaker 1>uh so the v tuber mode I need everyone in
<v Speaker 1>chat to assigned who's going to be who? Uh for alcool,
<v Speaker 1>I said, chat is going to assign it?
<v Speaker 2>Dan think it might be might be the right call
<v Speaker 2>there though, But but you said four v four Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>it's four v four four v four online.
<v Speaker 5>My number was taking in the sky. All come on, anyone, Yeah,
<v Speaker 5>kind of funny, kind of funny, said joke.
<v Speaker 4>But sure, yeah, what uh, I don't all right, to
<v Speaker 4>the surprise of no one, I've never I didn't ever
<v Speaker 4>play Star Fox ever. I didn't realize it was the
<v Speaker 4>same game every single goddamn time.
<v Speaker 3>Or worse.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, So I guess I'm not missing out on too
<v Speaker 4>much here.
<v Speaker 5>That they keep making Who fucking and slippy are?
<v Speaker 4>I don't know these people are?
<v Speaker 3>Those are the Dwarves.
<v Speaker 4>Honestly, I believe you. I believe you. Uh yeah, But
<v Speaker 4>but hey, I like I like new stuff that I've
<v Speaker 4>never played, So I'm gonna play this. I'm gonna maybe
<v Speaker 4>enjoy it.
<v Speaker 3>I don't like it.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, it's like it was like dog fighting.
<v Speaker 3>Is it's just like dog fighting? Yeah, you play Panther dragoon. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>of course, of course.
<v Speaker 5>Of course. By the way, that one back, Yeah, I
<v Speaker 5>played a ship one tenth of your super game budget
<v Speaker 5>that you don't need more make a new pants drag goon.
<v Speaker 5>Don't let those fucking weirdos remake another pants dragoon. They
<v Speaker 5>look bad.
<v Speaker 8>Yeah, don't let the do It's a dragon was so
<v Speaker 8>long ago and it was so mid If anyone takes
<v Speaker 8>any lesson away from this podcast today, don't let a
<v Speaker 8>people do anything that's right.
<v Speaker 3>That's what we're trying to say.
<v Speaker 4>You said it, You said it, not me.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>The YouTuber thing you can just use, like across the
<v Speaker 2>board you have to be in the games. You can
<v Speaker 2>like just they turn it on and then talk to
<v Speaker 2>your friends while they play other games using game chat,
<v Speaker 2>which is just dominic.
<v Speaker 3>I love it. It's okay release week. Can we do
<v Speaker 3>the whole BombCast like that?
<v Speaker 2>That's what everyone's asking for, and I think we're probably
<v Speaker 2>gonna think we should probably do.
<v Speaker 5>That because it's the four Star Fucks people and the
<v Speaker 5>four Star Wolf people too, So somebody could be Pigma.
<v Speaker 5>Can I be? Andros might like nephew that kind of
<v Speaker 5>looks like him, my Emperor. I failed you.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, okay, I want to hear what all these guys
<v Speaker 4>sound like? The great the thing about Starbucks.
<v Speaker 2>Sixty four especially legitimately great voice acting, really good performances.
<v Speaker 2>Pete Peppy's like southern accent is like there's like a
<v Speaker 2>trend or a trope in Japanese media of like the
<v Speaker 2>the character that like trains up the young gun is
<v Speaker 2>like this old western guy and Pepin.
<v Speaker 3>Does such a good job at that interesting the famous one.
<v Speaker 5>You know.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, of course try turn ye yo.
<v Speaker 4>I fuck with Pigma.
<v Speaker 5>I like this guy. Yeah, yeah, he's a villain. He
<v Speaker 5>betrays everyone. Yeah, spoilers dude, uh big alright.
<v Speaker 3>Is retiring from Nintendo.
<v Speaker 2>Nintendo veteran Takashi Testica is retiring from his executive officer
<v Speaker 2>role on June twenty sixth. Tessica directed or helped shape
<v Speaker 2>foundational Nintendo games, including Super Mario Brothers, The Legend of Zelda,
<v Speaker 2>Super Mario World, A Link to the Past, and Yoshi's Island,
<v Speaker 2>and was most recently producer on Super Mario Brothers Wonder
<v Speaker 2>He is one of those people who's like, oh, there
<v Speaker 2>are like five names on Super Mario Brothers that ended
<v Speaker 2>up like four of the five names down Super Mario Brothers.
<v Speaker 2>Ended up working on Super Mario Brothers. Wonder he's just
<v Speaker 2>been there forever. Is always one of those guys that
<v Speaker 2>really made the games incredible. He's worked on so many
<v Speaker 2>of my favorite games. This is part of a recent
<v Speaker 2>changing of the guard at Nintendo. You know, Decki Kano
<v Speaker 2>recently retired, Tanabe recently retired, Miamoto is still there as
<v Speaker 2>an executive fellow, and that means like he can kind
<v Speaker 2>of like do what he wants because he's Miamoto, and
<v Speaker 2>that means he's working on movies and theme parks and
<v Speaker 2>stuff like that. But yeah, this is these guys are
<v Speaker 2>turning sixty five retirement age and they are retiring, and it's,
<v Speaker 2>oh yeah, my entire life has been playing this guy's games,
<v Speaker 2>and now he's done, and it kind of won't just
<v Speaker 2>be like good for him, you really earned it and
<v Speaker 2>like just applaud Yeah, yeah, well done. Sony forecast PS
<v Speaker 2>five gaming sales decline amid price in supply challenges. Nintendo
<v Speaker 2>was saying, it's kind of something similar. You know, Nintendo
<v Speaker 2>was so sold like twenty million up switch tows in
<v Speaker 2>its first year. They're now they're saying sixteen million for
<v Speaker 2>this for the second year.
<v Speaker 3>That's a little.
<v Speaker 2>Abnormal, but they had so many in the year one,
<v Speaker 2>that's like, yeah, you can expect some decline there, and
<v Speaker 2>then there's the price increase on top of that PlayStation
<v Speaker 2>seeing something similar even though it's much deeper into its generation.
<v Speaker 2>Sony issued a forward looking forecast showing a roughly six
<v Speaker 2>percent decline in annual gaming sales this PS five hardware
<v Speaker 2>demand falls largely tied to memory price surges, supply issues,
<v Speaker 2>and recent price hikes, including a one hundred dollars increase
<v Speaker 2>in the United States and higher prices in other regions.
<v Speaker 2>The PS five shipments did cross six or ninety three
<v Speaker 2>point seven million units. The quarterly shipments were down, like
<v Speaker 2>they were way down. They sold something like one and
<v Speaker 2>a half million PlayStation fives in the last quarter, and
<v Speaker 2>that is abnormally low for this period in the generation.
<v Speaker 2>And everyone's like, yeah, the price went up. This is
<v Speaker 2>before the price went up. This is from before there
<v Speaker 2>was a surge with the price hike expectations. So like
<v Speaker 2>everyone's Okay, we're going to see a surge in that
<v Speaker 2>moment where the price hike did happen, and so that'll
<v Speaker 2>kind of offset things a little bit. But on the
<v Speaker 2>other side of that price hike, is it going to
<v Speaker 2>be even worse than this one and a half million
<v Speaker 2>PS five sold? It's like, yes, until GTA six comes out.
<v Speaker 2>And again that's what everyone's counting on. That is like
<v Speaker 2>the subtext almost every story we read on this show.
<v Speaker 3>So yeah, I mean, do you guys hear people excited
<v Speaker 3>about PS five's that don't have one? I don't know.
<v Speaker 4>No, I just don't know anyone who like has yet
<v Speaker 4>to make a purchase decision about a console lately.
<v Speaker 3>I feel like last time there was a big move
<v Speaker 3>was when like college football came back.
<v Speaker 5>That was it.
<v Speaker 4>So are you describing the the race to secure a
<v Speaker 4>console before the price increase? Is that that's what you're describing?
<v Speaker 2>Yes, right, there was that moment there, So they're like,
<v Speaker 2>this one one and a half million PlayStation five sold
<v Speaker 2>last quarter is before any of that.
<v Speaker 8>Right.
<v Speaker 2>Then, in the week that the price to hike was announced,
<v Speaker 2>leading into the price hike happening in a week later,
<v Speaker 2>they sold just about every PS five that was on
<v Speaker 2>the on shelves, including PS five pros at the original price,
<v Speaker 2>and there was reporting from like mapis Catel and a
<v Speaker 2>bunch of international reporting agencies of like oh, PlayStation five
<v Speaker 2>had a massive week. It's like, yeah, okay, now that
<v Speaker 2>we're on the other side of that and people are
<v Speaker 2>seeing the higher prices at retail, what do we expect
<v Speaker 2>at that point? And that's the unknown here other than
<v Speaker 2>a lot of these companies are saying expect diminishing sales
<v Speaker 2>going forward because the demand's going to be lower because
<v Speaker 2>the price is higher.
<v Speaker 4>They should raise it again.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, that wull get people moving.
<v Speaker 2>To say that their price increases does not cover their costs.
<v Speaker 2>Say like, this does not fully cover the increasing costs
<v Speaker 2>that we're facing. Yes, that's what they told investors, and
<v Speaker 2>they're not allowed to allow to investors like that. They
<v Speaker 2>so they set it right to their face. It's like, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I believe it too. I mean, fifty dollars increase is
<v Speaker 2>probably not going to cover the how much more they're.
<v Speaker 4>So they're still they're selling each one at a loss.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know if they said that explicitly, but it's
<v Speaker 2>like they're they're certainly not making the margins they once were,
<v Speaker 2>and this does not restore their margins to what it
<v Speaker 2>was when they were like or what they were expecting.
<v Speaker 2>That could mean they are selling for a loss. Yes,
<v Speaker 2>that could mean that, but we don't know that for sure.
<v Speaker 3>Gotcha all right?
<v Speaker 2>Forts the Horizon six leaked early, and Playground Games is
<v Speaker 2>threatening hardware bands for anyone who's playing it early. The
<v Speaker 2>PC version of Forts Horizon six leaked online. When we
<v Speaker 2>talked about this on Game mess Mornings, it was like,
<v Speaker 2>I don't know, people were saying that this was hacked
<v Speaker 2>from some unencrypted upload on Steam and people got into
<v Speaker 2>Steam database and got stuff that way, and that sounded
<v Speaker 2>very strange to me, but that's what everyone was saying.
<v Speaker 2>And now it's like, no, Valve and Playground Games and
<v Speaker 2>Microsoft are all saying someone who had the game early
<v Speaker 2>uploaded a copy, oh and they cracked that. And it's like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>and you know who knows it could be a reviewer,
<v Speaker 2>It's probably an influencer. That's my bias there, but I'm
<v Speaker 2>gonna say it probably is. And yeah, the game's out
<v Speaker 2>there and people could just get it now. It is
<v Speaker 2>a game that has a lot of online functionality. So
<v Speaker 2>if people boot this game up and like log into
<v Speaker 2>their Microsoft account or as some people were doing streaming
<v Speaker 2>it on top toast, Playground Games is gonna find you,
<v Speaker 2>and that account that is associated with that, that is
<v Speaker 2>an Xbox account, is gonna probably get nuked, and you're
<v Speaker 2>gonna have a hard time playing any game online with
<v Speaker 2>that account. Now, you know, people will find ways to
<v Speaker 2>just to complete play completely offline. You're losing some functionality,
<v Speaker 2>but you also save a lot of money, and you
<v Speaker 2>get it early, and people like that as well, So
<v Speaker 2>they're gonna they're not gonna be able to put the
<v Speaker 2>toothpaste entirely back in the tube here. But this is
<v Speaker 2>one where, yeah, they have a lot of methods for
<v Speaker 2>punishing people who are being brazen about this obviously. Uh,
<v Speaker 2>it wasn't the only game that leaked, by the way,
<v Speaker 2>there was that Batman. The lego Batman game got turned
<v Speaker 2>on and released early on Xbox for a handful of people,
<v Speaker 2>and it's turning on.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know, the ky veil the Dark.
<v Speaker 5>I think the trailer was so good for Batman by
<v Speaker 5>the way, holy crap.
<v Speaker 1>It.
<v Speaker 4>But yeah, the people who were able to purchase it early,
<v Speaker 4>that's not the same kind of does a noopsie daisy, right, Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>That's right. That's a different It's a wholly different thing.
<v Speaker 3>You're right, all right.
<v Speaker 2>Sony has a two part pitch right now, and they're
<v Speaker 2>a little bit separate, like, hey, our future is good
<v Speaker 2>on one side because of AI and on the other
<v Speaker 2>side because we're making really good games. So the first
<v Speaker 2>side of this is Hideoki Nishino was saying that AI
<v Speaker 2>is going to help them with a accelerate development, improve
<v Speaker 2>QA software engineering, three D modeling, modeling, animation, and personalization
<v Speaker 2>on the PlayStation store. So they are like, we have
<v Speaker 2>a lot of ways that we're using this stuff. A
<v Speaker 2>huge part of that is this is the kind of
<v Speaker 2>stuff you have to say to investors right now to
<v Speaker 2>keep them satisfied. And they're they're saying that, and then
<v Speaker 2>they're saying, we're not gonna use it for you know,
<v Speaker 2>a generative AI. We're gonna have humans make games still,
<v Speaker 2>But it sounds like they're using it so much across
<v Speaker 2>the board that it could quickly take over that as well.
<v Speaker 2>If it saves them a lot of money, I'm sure
<v Speaker 2>they would like that. And the thing about AI is
<v Speaker 2>it's cheaper and faster, and so if it's worse, that
<v Speaker 2>kind of doesn't matter, because if satisfies two of the
<v Speaker 2>three by being cheaper and faster. Then on the other hand,
<v Speaker 2>PlayStation VP Christian Spenson was talking about the next three,
<v Speaker 2>four and five years of games coming from PlayStation and
<v Speaker 2>I think their partners and saying that their things are
<v Speaker 2>unbelievably positive and that when he looks at these games,
<v Speaker 2>it stands in start contrast to the lot of the
<v Speaker 2>doom and gloom headlines that we talk about on shows
<v Speaker 2>like this and Gameless Mornings, where it's like these companies
<v Speaker 2>face a lot of problems and being about getting people
<v Speaker 2>excited to buy consoles and buy games. He said, when
<v Speaker 2>he looks at it, he doesn't feel that way. I
<v Speaker 2>think everyone's just kind of look around, going like, okay,
<v Speaker 2>then show them get people excited. I think that has
<v Speaker 2>been the PlayStation five's sort of bugaboo is.
<v Speaker 3>People are like, I spent a.
<v Speaker 2>Lot of money on this thing, and I do not
<v Speaker 2>feel the excitement that maybe I felt during the PlayStation four.
<v Speaker 2>And I've been waiting for the things to really get
<v Speaker 2>started and we're five six years into this thing now
<v Speaker 2>and it never really got there. How confident are you
<v Speaker 2>guys about the future of games, because I think they
<v Speaker 2>can deliver it, just hasn't felt that way so far.
<v Speaker 5>I mean, it feels scary, and you know, just at
<v Speaker 5>this time where there is this uncertainty and there are
<v Speaker 5>things like Marathon coming out and doing well but not
<v Speaker 5>well enough, and you know they also cancel their last
<v Speaker 5>of US big live service game and fair Games is
<v Speaker 5>still happening. You know, there's uncertainty, and there's also plenty
<v Speaker 5>of good stuff that they deal over there. But the
<v Speaker 5>last thing I want to hear about from the right now,
<v Speaker 5>and I don't care if it was directed at investors
<v Speaker 5>maybe and not me, but I just don't want to
<v Speaker 5>hear about AI at PlayStation. That's just the the ultimate
<v Speaker 5>mood killer right now.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it was you know, PlayStation and Nintendo, where those
<v Speaker 2>companies from Japan that I was hearing about, like they
<v Speaker 2>were pretty strict with their creatives and their developers about hey,
<v Speaker 2>please just don't use AI because we don't want that
<v Speaker 2>stuff popping up in our games that that we might
<v Speaker 2>get sued for later. So it's better safe than sorry,
<v Speaker 2>and we just we trust our old processes. We haven't
<v Speaker 2>analyzed this stuff for risk yet. It's like that's changing
<v Speaker 2>pretty fast over its Sony at the very least, though,
<v Speaker 2>Gears of War E Day w W E sponsorship points
<v Speaker 2>to a possible fall launch window for that game. Uh,
<v Speaker 2>they're gonna Gears War E Day is going to be
<v Speaker 2>a sponsor for Triple Mania in September, and so everyone's like,
<v Speaker 2>usually when a game sponsors something like that, it's either
<v Speaker 2>out at that moment or coming out very soon afterward.
<v Speaker 3>That sounds right to me. What do you guys thinking.
<v Speaker 3>I'm just surprised to hear w dores doing sponsorships now. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>it's a new thing for them.
<v Speaker 5>Think about it. Yeah, the ring you could, I think
<v Speaker 5>interrupt the walkins. I think just matches, that'd be great.
<v Speaker 1>They're going to ruin the sanctity of luchador masks by
<v Speaker 1>slapping a logo on someone's mask.
<v Speaker 6>Huh, mister is going to be sponsored? Yeah, oh my god,
<v Speaker 6>they with lu mask. That's gonna be someone's gonna hurt.
<v Speaker 4>Just a big old Pepsi logo.
<v Speaker 3>That's the imp.
<v Speaker 2>We are going to find out more about Gears of
<v Speaker 2>War E Day on June seventh, when Xbox does its
<v Speaker 2>annual Big Showcase. They're having their big Regular showcase, and
<v Speaker 2>then they're going to follow that up with Gears of
<v Speaker 2>War E Day Special thing like they did with the
<v Speaker 2>Outer Worlds to last year and a handful of other
<v Speaker 2>things in the previous years.
<v Speaker 4>Uh yeah, so so so so if people want to
<v Speaker 4>play Gears of War, look, I don't want Ready for it.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know if I'm I don't know if I care.
<v Speaker 3>I've never really been a Gears guys.
<v Speaker 6>I like Gears a lot back when it originally ran,
<v Speaker 6>and after playing them all again recently with Kayla, I
<v Speaker 6>think I I think I really like Gears of War
<v Speaker 6>a lot.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, I'm playing Ready for New Gears.
<v Speaker 4>I played the majority of them, and they're They're good.
<v Speaker 4>I enjoy them, but I I they are they have
<v Speaker 4>a very like lukewarm sort of like space in my
<v Speaker 4>mind where I'm just like empty caunteries.
<v Speaker 6>It's empty calories, you know, like I don't think the
<v Speaker 6>works of art or anything like that. But they're a
<v Speaker 6>fun time.
<v Speaker 2>I look, I this was the one that they feels
<v Speaker 2>like they're trying to reboot the energy around Gears of War,
<v Speaker 2>and we'll see how they're able to do that. I
<v Speaker 2>don't know, I'm not I'm not sure. Maybe this is
<v Speaker 2>the one that really gets me excited.
<v Speaker 5>I I'd like for it to be good when Gears
<v Speaker 5>of War is ohkad, I always have a good time
<v Speaker 5>with it. Gears War one on the Xbox or sixty
<v Speaker 5>felt like a moment. That's an experience.
<v Speaker 3>I that's drink about. It was cool is his whole thing.
<v Speaker 3>I haven't been invested in the series.
<v Speaker 5>In a while. I barely played four and five. But
<v Speaker 5>I don't know. I am feeling a bit of that itch.
<v Speaker 4>Uh.
<v Speaker 2>Let's see here tech and Boss Katsuhiro Harada has joined
<v Speaker 2>S n K PlayStation third party content.
<v Speaker 3>But this is the wrong fucking thing here. Let's see. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>I wrote a copy of the wrong thing.
<v Speaker 5>Okay, basically I have the.
<v Speaker 3>Story over here.
<v Speaker 2>Harada, who was previously in charge of tech in he
<v Speaker 2>worked there for a very long time. He left there after.
<v Speaker 3>Thirty one years. He is now moving over to S
<v Speaker 3>and K.
<v Speaker 2>According to Harada, he is starting VS Studios or Versus Studios.
<v Speaker 2>He says the name holds various meetings including video Game Soft,
<v Speaker 2>Victoria's Victoria's Secret and the Spirits, the Ristic Evil Edge,
<v Speaker 2>and it's the Reach for the Moon Engine.
<v Speaker 5>Yes exactly that.
<v Speaker 1>You know.
<v Speaker 3>It's obviously means one thing he's saying. It means something else. Uh,
<v Speaker 3>it's just the philosophy.
<v Speaker 2>Philosophy behind the studio is beyond tradition, crafted to perfection.
<v Speaker 2>Herada just kind of being Herada here. The story is
<v Speaker 2>uh leaving band Damco to go over to S and K,
<v Speaker 2>probably to make fighting games. Uh is this just a
<v Speaker 2>story of there's a lot of money at S and
<v Speaker 2>K because of Saudi Arabia and he's gonna have the
<v Speaker 2>big payday.
<v Speaker 5>I think he's getting a big payday. And yeah, it's
<v Speaker 5>a little weird. I mean S and K not super
<v Speaker 5>known for three D fighting games, which is his area
<v Speaker 5>of expertise, So I don't know if they're going to
<v Speaker 5>make some kind of a gamble there. It still feels
<v Speaker 5>like that new Fatal Theory did not really make that
<v Speaker 5>much of a splash. I think that Invincible game like
<v Speaker 5>already has more SAM reviews for instance. Yeah, so yeah,
<v Speaker 5>I bet yeah. I think it's mostly just it's it's
<v Speaker 5>a big, big day and maybe it was unhappy at
<v Speaker 5>bandy Namco.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know.
<v Speaker 5>Uh, I guess I'm gonna be curious what that game
<v Speaker 5>looks like. Are they just going to try to make
<v Speaker 5>a three D fail for you again? They've done that before.
<v Speaker 5>Is it going to be something maybe entirely new, Maybe
<v Speaker 5>they turned Samurai Showdown into three D. I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>I yeah, I mean I bet the people who are
<v Speaker 2>paying the bills over at S and K now like
<v Speaker 2>the idea of having a big three D fighting game
<v Speaker 2>and having herodicum in and doing it.
<v Speaker 3>And that is exactly what led to this.
<v Speaker 2>It's uh, it's disappointing, but money talks, and we're not
<v Speaker 2>gonna be able to change that.
<v Speaker 3>Uh So let's end up with no.
<v Speaker 5>No.
<v Speaker 2>That's the end of the news. There's nothing else happening,
<v Speaker 2>nothing else important, nothing else that matters to anyone, certainly
<v Speaker 2>not the jan You.
<v Speaker 1>Motherfucker's first Oh Happy API month, And this is how
<v Speaker 1>we're celebrating AAP.
<v Speaker 2>I'm montagen in particular because Cyclops is headed to Marvel Rivals.
<v Speaker 2>I hope he's got the thickest thighs you've ever fucking seen.
<v Speaker 3>This motherfucker. It looks so beautiful, the fucking leader of
<v Speaker 3>the X Men.
<v Speaker 1>And I swear to God I will ban and mute
<v Speaker 1>you if you say that Cyclops is a cop.
<v Speaker 5>Even one of you guys.
<v Speaker 4>No one's ever said that before.
<v Speaker 3>What do you mind? I don't agree with exactly.
<v Speaker 5>I will throw Jeff Grubb's Steam controller at a wall.
<v Speaker 5>It'll scream, don't.
<v Speaker 3>Do that, O King.
<v Speaker 1>I'm so fucking excited. I saw the trailer. He looks fantastic.
<v Speaker 1>I don't even care which role he's in. Also, Devil
<v Speaker 1>Dinosaur is gonna make it to the game moon Girl.
<v Speaker 5>Maybe.
<v Speaker 1>If folks have not been in tune with what's happening
<v Speaker 1>with the comic books, I highly suggest you check out
<v Speaker 1>Moon Girl, very fun show as well on Disney. Plus,
<v Speaker 1>they're gonna get the fucking actor from our X Men
<v Speaker 1>ninety seven to voice Scott Summers.
<v Speaker 5>Baby, it's the summer of Scott.
<v Speaker 3>Jesus Christ. I'm so fucking hyped. Finally, uh, May fifteenth.
<v Speaker 5>That's Friday maybe, I mean it's also our anniversary week.
<v Speaker 5>Maybe plays the Marvel.
<v Speaker 1>Right, Well, we're not playing until the Cyclops is in.
<v Speaker 5>May fifteenth.
<v Speaker 1>No, no, no, no, Devil Dinosaur is gonna be the
<v Speaker 1>first one coming out.
<v Speaker 3>Eight starts on May fifteenth.
<v Speaker 5>I hear.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, they're edging me, is what they're doing? Oh right, right,
<v Speaker 1>last thing I need now is for Marvel Tokon to
<v Speaker 1>just fucking drop the teas and let let Slim come out,
<v Speaker 1>you know, pop open. The leader of the x Men,
<v Speaker 1>the guy that is doing what Charles fucking Exavier it
<v Speaker 1>can't do because he's a fucking loser.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, he's worse than a copy. Yes, loser, he's the
<v Speaker 3>leader of the x Men. Yes, like always, yes.
<v Speaker 5>I will steal a lot. Yeah, and a lot of
<v Speaker 5>the continuities you know. Okay, No, I'm not questioning has
<v Speaker 5>been the leader at certain times too.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, bring her up we can Yeah yeah, uh a
<v Speaker 2>real quick SOMATICA two game files also got leaked this week,
<v Speaker 2>and that one's like, my mind immediately goes to the
<v Speaker 2>people publishing that trying to sabotage that game so it
<v Speaker 2>doesn't get into it than But that's just.
<v Speaker 3>Me speculating, that's not They don't know.
<v Speaker 1>Was there is there a bonus off the table or
<v Speaker 1>I thought it was put back on the table.
<v Speaker 2>The bonus is back on the table if this thing
<v Speaker 2>comes out or yes, the courts made them do that.
<v Speaker 2>It comes out early access and it makes if it
<v Speaker 2>sells a certain amount, the people who made the game,
<v Speaker 2>the developers, are going to earn a two hundred and
<v Speaker 2>fifty million dollar bonus and so U they and we
<v Speaker 2>know that the people that were publishing over crafton already
<v Speaker 2>tried to sabotage that once by firing the people in
<v Speaker 2>charge of the studio and taking it over and saying
<v Speaker 2>we're going to delay the game, uh for reasons. And
<v Speaker 2>then the court said, well, that is obviously something bad,
<v Speaker 2>and you talked to chat GPT about that. That's that
<v Speaker 2>story there. Yeah, this is probably not what happened here. Obviously,
<v Speaker 2>we've seen this week. There's a million ways that these
<v Speaker 2>things can leak early. But that game's out very soon.
<v Speaker 2>People are going to buy it.
<v Speaker 3>It's going to do very very I'm gonna buy so
<v Speaker 3>many fucking cycle skins. This is bad. It's good that
<v Speaker 3>does for the headlines. Be you, Jen Now, I'm upset
<v Speaker 3>about how much money I'm gonna lose on this game
<v Speaker 3>now and how much.
<v Speaker 5>Time as long as you realize it.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah yeah, anyway, folks at home, we're gonna take quick,
<v Speaker 1>pricky break and we'll be back with the emails.
<v Speaker 3>Right after this. These are the emails or the emails.
<v Speaker 1>Bombcastigiant bomb dot com is the email addressed to send
<v Speaker 1>your emails too, and write in about any and everything
<v Speaker 1>you want uh once again. I say this every week.
<v Speaker 1>I've been saying this every single week for the last
<v Speaker 1>couple of months, if not year. Our inbox is flooded
<v Speaker 1>with great emails. Thank you so much to everyone sending
<v Speaker 1>them in. Apologies if they don't get read on the show,
<v Speaker 1>but do not let that discourage you. Shouts out to
<v Speaker 1>all y'all at home. First email from the show comes
<v Speaker 1>from Jerry and Jerry brought in a little Blake Club quiz. Hey, dudes,
<v Speaker 1>congrats on one full year of independence. As a late
<v Speaker 1>Malo anniversary present, I created a Blake Club quiz for Dan, Mike,
<v Speaker 1>and Grubb. There are ten multiple choice questions about the
<v Speaker 1>last several years of Blake Club games. When did Blake
<v Speaker 1>Club start?
<v Speaker 3>What year? Probably of twenty twenty two, when Sonic Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Jesus okay. Each is worth one point. It might be
<v Speaker 1>work best to write down answers individually. We're gonna skip
<v Speaker 1>all that. I'm gonna choose a couple of these questions.
<v Speaker 1>Don't worry about points, boys, all right? First question, who
<v Speaker 1>is the final boss encounter in Mortal Kombat Mythologies?
<v Speaker 5>It's right, Jennock. He turns to like Super Shannock, and
<v Speaker 5>youet to run away from him unless you have enough
<v Speaker 5>full potions to be able to like do your super
<v Speaker 5>move and refill your manna and then you can kill
<v Speaker 5>him and you can get the bloopers at the end.
<v Speaker 4>All right, we do an extra credit on this thing January.
<v Speaker 3>All right?
<v Speaker 1>In Batman Dark Tomorrow, how many times did bat grub
<v Speaker 1>use the batcuffs by the end of the series. There
<v Speaker 1>are multiple choice Yeah, we have got answers here A
<v Speaker 1>three hundred and one, B three hundred and fourteen, C
<v Speaker 1>two hundred and ninety seven D three hundred and forty one.
<v Speaker 2>Geez, I'm gonna say I think it's two hundred ninety seven.
<v Speaker 2>I feel like we were about to reach a threshold
<v Speaker 2>and we didn't get there.
<v Speaker 5>That's my memory.
<v Speaker 1>But I'm guessing I'm going to three fourteen. I'll go
<v Speaker 1>with the grub uh ding ding ding ding ding. Mikey's
<v Speaker 1>the winner three fourteen.
<v Speaker 3>Oh wow, having a memory?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, all right, all right, I'm not going to
<v Speaker 1>read all of the questions. Jerry gonna skip through a
<v Speaker 1>couple of these. Okay, who is the main antagonist of
<v Speaker 1>Sonic six.
<v Speaker 3>Human Woman?
<v Speaker 1>There's multiple choices. I can read them if you want
<v Speaker 1>a Ebliss, B Silver the Hedgehog, C Solaris, D the
<v Speaker 1>load times.
<v Speaker 5>I mean there's an implish trigger. Is that the name?
<v Speaker 3>I think that was Shadow. I'm gonna say. I'm gonna
<v Speaker 3>say Solaris the George Clooney picture.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, you know what. I think the IMBLSS trigger was
<v Speaker 5>something else. I think Solaris is the best.
<v Speaker 3>No, I think it.
<v Speaker 5>I think, yeah, well he's the trigger for Ibliss, right,
<v Speaker 5>so I think it's the bad guy.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, is the obvious ones today? It's probably right?
<v Speaker 1>Sure it is C Solaris, all right, Uh okay, let
<v Speaker 1>me just read two more of these. Okay, Jerry, once again,
<v Speaker 1>thank you for the quiz. In Darkest of Days? How
<v Speaker 1>do you determine which enemies to shoot?
<v Speaker 3>In the Civil War? Levels?
<v Speaker 1>A they're wearing blue uniforms. B they're wearing gray uniforms.
<v Speaker 1>See they have red outlines. D there's no way to
<v Speaker 1>tell you.
<v Speaker 5>Shoot the South.
<v Speaker 4>Answer?
<v Speaker 5>Whatever they wore.
<v Speaker 3>I don't want to say, because I don't know what
<v Speaker 3>it is.
<v Speaker 5>War.
<v Speaker 3>The ones with the Confederate flags are the enemies, Mikey,
<v Speaker 3>do you want to help them out?
<v Speaker 5>I think it would be Gray. I'm gonna say b Gray.
<v Speaker 3>That is correct.
<v Speaker 1>Boys, all right, all right, uh okay, last question here Jerry.
<v Speaker 1>Once again, Jerry from Wisconsin, thank you so much for
<v Speaker 1>the quiz. Which Blake Club member has played the most
<v Speaker 1>Delight Club games, therefore making his tenure as a member
<v Speaker 1>the easiest.
<v Speaker 5>Mike, Mike, it's gotta be Mike.
<v Speaker 3>I think it's probably now I've played the most of
<v Speaker 3>I think it might be Jeff. I would say Jeff,
<v Speaker 3>I played a few.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I could see.
<v Speaker 4>No, it's not Dan.
<v Speaker 3>Most leaves the light. Wow.
<v Speaker 5>Put it on his shirt.
<v Speaker 3>That's that's what they say about him. And it's like Dan,
<v Speaker 3>like leaning up against the wall or something.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Uh, the answer is Jeff Crust. Bonus questions.
<v Speaker 1>Bonus question here in the Space Station Beta level of
<v Speaker 1>Space Ace, which direction must you travel in order to
<v Speaker 1>dodge the first laser shot on the moving moving platform?
<v Speaker 3>Check your thing there.
<v Speaker 5>This doesn't help you. Apparently you go.
<v Speaker 3>To the left. Are you serious?
<v Speaker 7>Right?
<v Speaker 3>It's right against my instincts on that one.
<v Speaker 5>Do you get those mixed up up on?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah? I'm going yeah, I'm getting better.
<v Speaker 5>He just thinks he should go to the left.
<v Speaker 3>Well, to the left, I'm gonna write, go right on here.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah alright, yeah yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Thank you so much Jerry for that wonderful email. Next
<v Speaker 1>email comes from JG. Advance apologies for my mispronunciation of Korean.
<v Speaker 1>It's gonna happen. I can barely pronounce English. Sometimes on
<v Speaker 1>young Haseo giant bomb bombers that means hello. I've been
<v Speaker 1>studying Korean for a few months now, and with all
<v Speaker 1>this Kia talk, I wanted to throw in some fun
<v Speaker 1>facts about the Korean language that I've learned. The Korean
<v Speaker 1>alphabet aka hung ghoul is very simple. It was actually
<v Speaker 1>designed this way in the fourteen hundreds. Korean writing was
<v Speaker 1>based on Chinese characters. King Sejong decided that he wanted
<v Speaker 1>more common people to be able to read and write,
<v Speaker 1>so he had a new alphabet developed with that intention.
<v Speaker 1>It's simple enough to learn in an afternoon, and while
<v Speaker 1>just learning alphabet isn't enough to know the language, knowing
<v Speaker 1>how to sound things out can help read loanwords from English.
<v Speaker 1>If you ever visit two. It's what is known as
<v Speaker 1>s O V language, meaning the verb comes at the
<v Speaker 1>end of a sentence after the subject an object. For example,
<v Speaker 1>if I was to describe giant Bob in Korean, the
<v Speaker 1>structure would be giant bomb a site about website. Giant
<v Speaker 1>bomb a site about video games is just like Yoda's shit, right,
<v Speaker 1>Yoda's Korean turns out yeahs.
<v Speaker 3>And three.
<v Speaker 1>Well, I did say. The alphabet is simple. They have
<v Speaker 1>sounds we don't, and vice versa. For example, f V
<v Speaker 1>and th sounds in Korean at the same time they
<v Speaker 1>show as the symbol. Here is a sound between L
<v Speaker 1>and R. If you've watched much subed anime, you've definitely
<v Speaker 1>heard it. Example the guy who's lucky in tune in
<v Speaker 1>exams of Naruto or MYSA saying light in death note. Okay, anyway,
<v Speaker 1>those are my fun facts. Second, anyway, those are my
<v Speaker 1>fun facts. But here's a more useful ish sentence for y'all. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>wah O'Neil yun mikey yashi a dung el ao or
<v Speaker 1>in English, wow, today is a Mikey's day.
<v Speaker 5>I gotta learn that. One, I gotta learn that.
<v Speaker 1>One we should put we should put that on a shirt.
<v Speaker 1>They put the Korean alphabet there. Okay, all right. Next
<v Speaker 1>email comes from Andrew from r V A Hey, hey, hey, hey,
<v Speaker 1>I've been muling over the idea of a Luca Lucha
<v Speaker 1>deer tattoo.
<v Speaker 3>One. Do I have the staff's blessing on this idea? Yeah?
<v Speaker 3>Go for it yours. Two.
<v Speaker 1>Anyone have a sick GB tattoo or seen any out
<v Speaker 1>in the wild? Love the pod, quick looks, launch looks
<v Speaker 1>and everything you guys are doing. Keep up the great work, duders.
<v Speaker 3>I do not. I don't have no people are sent
<v Speaker 3>in pictures with like their tats.
<v Speaker 4>I don't think I've seen any.
<v Speaker 5>If you have them, hit us up on Blue Sky
<v Speaker 5>or something.
<v Speaker 4>If you have them, Oh, Jen, you and I were
<v Speaker 4>going to get him as a stretch goal right in
<v Speaker 4>the bottom.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, yes, yes, yes, and Mike spill got to get
<v Speaker 2>his because me and Jan beat boulders Gate that you
<v Speaker 2>definitely did that. Remember Asterion Grub Oh man, this guy
<v Speaker 2>was staring on everything right.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and you jumped in and then you love shadow
<v Speaker 1>Heart Yeah, sure I could fix her. And then the
<v Speaker 1>Red Devil Lady cars.
<v Speaker 5>All right, jesus.
<v Speaker 1>Uh Mikey, I'm surprised your grandma didn't have anything to
<v Speaker 1>say about the Kia.
<v Speaker 5>But Grandma's arresting. She was a We took her, We
<v Speaker 5>took her to the Mexican restaurant for Mother's Day and
<v Speaker 5>she had one Marguerite and was just toasted. I won't
<v Speaker 5>repeat it, but she thought that the sausa was very pinchy.
<v Speaker 4>Pinchy.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, that's how they say spicy people pinches their sensitive taste.
<v Speaker 5>Buzz that are only used to a regano and basil
<v Speaker 5>poor for the more southern, she's more central. Got it all?
<v Speaker 6>That's Ben Hanson explicitly asked min Max fans not to
<v Speaker 6>get related tattoos.
<v Speaker 3>Did you be welcome this? Yeah, let's be the anti
<v Speaker 3>min MAXI on this. Everyone should get.
<v Speaker 5>Whatever I mean, I mean Ben Hanson's body. I didn't
<v Speaker 5>know he was trying to control people. Should Hanson's could say,
<v Speaker 5>if you want to have sex with your partner too,
<v Speaker 5>on your back Steve O style.
<v Speaker 3>There we go, There we go? All right.
<v Speaker 1>A couple more emails. Once again, thank you so much
<v Speaker 1>everyone for writing of them in. We only have so
<v Speaker 1>much time, so we can only read so many.
<v Speaker 5>Uh.
<v Speaker 1>This email comes from Robert in Blue Mountains, NSW. What
<v Speaker 1>is that?
<v Speaker 3>North Southwest.
<v Speaker 1>News, New South Wales, New South Wales, New South Wales. Okay, hey,
<v Speaker 1>Grenadier's in school. One of my nicknames was crabs. What
<v Speaker 1>do you think the reason for this nickname? I'll email
<v Speaker 1>again to confirm you got it right. Also, what were
<v Speaker 1>your nicknames in school?
<v Speaker 3>Good?
<v Speaker 1>Bad, Huge? Thanks to all the GB crew pass present.
<v Speaker 1>Without Giant Bomb, my life would be not would not
<v Speaker 1>be what it is. From Robert in Blue Mountain, North
<v Speaker 1>South Wales.
<v Speaker 5>That's sweet.
<v Speaker 2>So so the question is their nickname in school was
<v Speaker 2>crabs and we're supposed to guess how they got that.
<v Speaker 6>They're trying to stay us up for saying genital crabs,
<v Speaker 6>but that seems too obvious.
<v Speaker 5>Yes, we saw the crack open a fresh crab leg
<v Speaker 5>and he was real damn the tool.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I think he had strong grippers. Maybe crab every
<v Speaker 2>day at lunch at school. Yeah, everyone else is getting
<v Speaker 2>the square pizza and he was having crab legs. Yes,
<v Speaker 2>every day, kink crab, a whole kink crab. Or maybe
<v Speaker 2>he was like a little grumpy all the time crabby.
<v Speaker 5>Maybe love krabby patties.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, maybe he was red and obsessed with business and
<v Speaker 1>his daughter was a whale.
<v Speaker 3>His parents had a crab apple tree in their yard,
<v Speaker 3>like look look at crabb.
<v Speaker 5>All my friends a lot of my friends in high
<v Speaker 5>school because like I would explain what leads speak was
<v Speaker 5>to them, which was a thing at the time. If
<v Speaker 5>we would say it like to be clear, we said
<v Speaker 5>it like ironic, but like all of them thought it
<v Speaker 5>was really funny, and Billy said, they would call me
<v Speaker 5>mikesores and a lot of them.
<v Speaker 3>Still, Oh is that where that comes from?
<v Speaker 6>You?
<v Speaker 3>You've seen some of my friends call me that absolutely.
<v Speaker 6>Before they tried to get nad Tracker working on me,
<v Speaker 6>because that's what some of the guys in junior high.
<v Speaker 6>I thought my name was backwards, but nad Tracker didn't
<v Speaker 6>really catch on. That's it's a lot of syllables, yeah,
<v Speaker 6>track and nads.
<v Speaker 5>Uh. I get Daniel Anuary, jam jan that's it, jam bigelow.
<v Speaker 3>Oh that's good. No one ever makes any nicknames for Jerome.
<v Speaker 3>That's fine. Je Jerome is verning stop No no no, no,
<v Speaker 3>not that no no, no, no, We're not doing this.
<v Speaker 3>It's okay. Baklar uh grub any nicknames other than your
<v Speaker 3>last names.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I've said this a bunch of going way back.
<v Speaker 3>Uh.
<v Speaker 4>Because of fresh Prince, people called me g for Jeffrey
<v Speaker 4>because that's oh sure, which you know makes perfect sense
<v Speaker 4>and skippy.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's like he spelled because that Jeffrey spelled his
<v Speaker 2>with the G presub it made sense for him, definitely nonsense.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah for me, it's offensive.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I would hate it.
<v Speaker 4>I'm not achulle.
<v Speaker 5>Come on.
<v Speaker 2>It was all like my last name is grub. So
<v Speaker 2>people didn't need a lot of nicknames, but they care
<v Speaker 2>to be like grub worm or something like that. And
<v Speaker 2>yeah thanks along those lines.
<v Speaker 6>Cool.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I would love to be the worst I think. Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>call you the grubster stuff like that. Yeah, for sure,
<v Speaker 2>you know scrub.
<v Speaker 5>That was just ever.
<v Speaker 1>I call all of you your name and then you'ller
<v Speaker 1>in my head sometimes, Okay, like I say rebular bacular.
<v Speaker 8>Uh.
<v Speaker 1>This is all because my friends called her boyfriend vonular
<v Speaker 1>and his name was just Vaughn and I asked like, well,
<v Speaker 1>is that short for something and he was like no,
<v Speaker 1>he's just very like nebular. So I just added, like
<v Speaker 1>tubular every everybody you talk to it a story.
<v Speaker 3>Now, sound like a C is that person that shouts
<v Speaker 3>out the gang? All right?
<v Speaker 1>Anyway, last email, I was asking about some movie advice.
<v Speaker 1>John from past writes in him not gonna say that
<v Speaker 1>one high Bombers, long time, long time. I have two boys,
<v Speaker 1>a ten year old and a seven year old. We
<v Speaker 1>just finished watching the nine mainline Star Wars movies and
<v Speaker 1>they really enjoyed them. They also have watched only two
<v Speaker 1>home alone movies that exist, and also like them a lot.
<v Speaker 1>I'm thinking next to watch The Mask, the nineteen ninety
<v Speaker 1>three Mario movie, and maybe The Fifth Element. Other than
<v Speaker 1>movies directly aimed at kids, what other movies would you
<v Speaker 1>recommend for us. I grew up in the nineties and
<v Speaker 1>have a pondus for those movies, but anything we'll do.
<v Speaker 1>I also don't care about age ratings, so as long
<v Speaker 1>as there's no explicit violence. Thanks advance. PS no Dan,
<v Speaker 1>I'm not showing them Jaws.
<v Speaker 3>I was gonna sit the Horizon, but I don't think.
<v Speaker 4>Let me just you know, thank you email er. I
<v Speaker 4>don't know about Fifth Element. I think Fifth Element you
<v Speaker 4>maybe should be a little not that it's inappropriate, but
<v Speaker 4>I think to really like appreciate that movie, you might
<v Speaker 4>want to be a little older. I'll offer a swap.
<v Speaker 4>Take Fifth Element off the table. And then I just
<v Speaker 4>did this with my eleven year old Fucking Ferris Bueller's
<v Speaker 4>Day Off man that movie. Oh yeah, that rips for
<v Speaker 4>for like that kid was just glued to his seat
<v Speaker 4>for two hours, just being like this is the coolest
<v Speaker 4>shit ever.
<v Speaker 2>The mask is a good one as well, Like if
<v Speaker 2>you watch that one, the kids, kids enjoy the mask.
<v Speaker 3>I do think, you know, Terminator two, he does have
<v Speaker 3>the no killing anyone rules.
<v Speaker 2>So if that counts and it starts that way, it's
<v Speaker 2>not like it's not like you have to wait, like yeah,
<v Speaker 2>they even when he's like.
<v Speaker 5>He doesn't rules, but yeah, yeah, there's other people who
<v Speaker 5>don't have that rule. Yeah, some people get stabbed in
<v Speaker 5>the face, I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, and the eyeball while getting of any machine.
<v Speaker 5>Thing. Don't know.
<v Speaker 2>To be Terminator two is a very like nine year
<v Speaker 2>olds is probably a little young, but it's like a
<v Speaker 2>ten year old coded.
<v Speaker 3>I was seven and my life.
<v Speaker 4>I'm just gonna absolutely disagree that the temperature of this
<v Speaker 4>room is icotic.
<v Speaker 5>I don't think. Yeah, I didn't watch that until much
<v Speaker 5>later than ten.
<v Speaker 2>Person, that was okay, But you want to be like
<v Speaker 2>Mike Manatti co one obviously, boy, that was just my experience.
<v Speaker 3>That I do Turtles, the Turtles movies obviously want.
<v Speaker 5>To Yeah, they're there. Those are fun one too. You
<v Speaker 5>don't need to see three at all. This is doubt.
<v Speaker 5>Fire is really good. I don't know how much you
<v Speaker 5>want to expose your kids to the concept of divorce.
<v Speaker 5>It's like the only thing potentially are running there Ron Williams,
<v Speaker 5>but William Harry watch Hook. There you go.
<v Speaker 4>You know you know what I'll say this, like Hook
<v Speaker 4>is good. There is again, I also have a sensitive job.
<v Speaker 4>But like Hook has some gnarly like kidnapping, I think right,
<v Speaker 4>but like one, I think that is on the table
<v Speaker 4>for sure.
<v Speaker 1>It will introduce Yeah, Hook will introduce your kid to
<v Speaker 1>the concept of a Filipino person, the.
<v Speaker 4>Concept the idea. Oh my god. I was watching a
<v Speaker 4>really interesting, uh breakdown of one of those scenes where
<v Speaker 4>Rufio takes that sword and stops it right at Robin
<v Speaker 4>Williams's face and they're like, how did they do this?
<v Speaker 4>How did they do this? And they're like, no, no,
<v Speaker 4>they just shot it backwards.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, And that means every every kid actor in that
<v Speaker 2>scene had in reverse and there was like ten of them.
<v Speaker 2>It was really impressive, which you know, if.
<v Speaker 4>You've ever like tried to rewind footage and play it
<v Speaker 4>as if it's going forward. There's something just always off
<v Speaker 4>about it. It just doesn't look right. But they nailed it.
<v Speaker 4>They did a great job.
<v Speaker 3>National Treasure A little time.
<v Speaker 4>Oh yeah, I just don't think you guys get it.
<v Speaker 4>A nine, National Treasure ten and a seven. They're not
<v Speaker 4>going to understand what's going on.
<v Speaker 3>Oh is not that God, You guys are not good
<v Speaker 3>for them.
<v Speaker 4>They're they're benign movies. I'm not saying like they'll be
<v Speaker 4>scarred by it, but you're basically just putting something in
<v Speaker 4>front of a kid who's just like, Dad, what has happened?
<v Speaker 5>I what are we doing here?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah?
<v Speaker 2>But like I watched movies like that as like I
<v Speaker 2>would latron to the stuff I did understand and the
<v Speaker 2>stuff would I would get filled in later in life
<v Speaker 2>when I would either watch complicated than an Idiota Jones.
<v Speaker 5>You probably don't do any of Jones because of the
<v Speaker 5>face melting. Yeah, this one doesn't have face melting. I
<v Speaker 5>thinks someone is always kind of slowly melting.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, Like I said, it's not the content. I think
<v Speaker 4>it's just the storyline.
<v Speaker 5>I think.
<v Speaker 4>I don't know in my experience, like kids I do
<v Speaker 4>think get bored if they're not emotionally attached to, like
<v Speaker 4>what the stakes of the thing are.
<v Speaker 5>Explain to your kid that the decoration of independence is important.
<v Speaker 1>And my reasoning is that, like I feel like Hamilton
<v Speaker 1>became so big that like kids know what Hamilton is, right,
<v Speaker 1>So there's like some knowledge or whatever of like the
<v Speaker 1>early US ship.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, the Sonic movie should be here for sure.
<v Speaker 5>If you haven't yet, email for sure.
<v Speaker 1>All right, That about does for emails. Thank you everyone
<v Speaker 1>for writing in. Apologies if you didn't get your email
<v Speaker 1>read on the show, but please please please keep sending
<v Speaker 1>them in BombCast giant bomb dot com.
<v Speaker 3>Grub. Is it that time or we skipping this week?
<v Speaker 2>It's that time, everybody for the podcast within a podcast grub. Guesser, everybody,
<v Speaker 2>this is the game where I show an old video
<v Speaker 2>game magazine ad to my friends here on the show
<v Speaker 2>and then they have to tell me what it is
<v Speaker 2>advertising this week, I've got an ad here from a
<v Speaker 2>magazine that for audio listeners, it says third times a
<v Speaker 2>charm if you consider death charming. Then there is a
<v Speaker 2>lady dressed kind of like catwoman with a whip inside
<v Speaker 2>of a cage attacking a man with a club. What
<v Speaker 2>video game is this advertising turn off, the turn chat
<v Speaker 2>off any black the stuff at bottom, but maybe don't
<v Speaker 2>read that.
<v Speaker 3>I can't remember what it says. Oh wait, do I
<v Speaker 3>need to see what is this? Oh? That looks early nineties?
<v Speaker 5>Is this the uh battlea to Shinden two?
<v Speaker 3>Jeez, it is not battle rena totionin didn't too.
<v Speaker 6>Ten arenas they're enclosed, thirty thirty characters. Okay, this might
<v Speaker 6>be a PS one game.
<v Speaker 5>This is one game it is.
<v Speaker 3>It's not Time Killers.
<v Speaker 4>No, this kid the cage just throwing me off.
<v Speaker 3>Okay, is this Cardinal Sin. It's not Cardinal Sin. I'll say,
<v Speaker 3>Mike is pretty close. What did he say? Battle in two?
<v Speaker 5>Game?
<v Speaker 3>It's a battle r.
<v Speaker 5>Third time to turn battle Arena tohind in three second?
<v Speaker 5>I don't okay, damn it, I was right there.
<v Speaker 3>All right, I got one more for you guys.
<v Speaker 5>This one would have credit on that one. Yes, absolutely,
<v Speaker 5>if this one, if you if you know it, you
<v Speaker 5>might just know it off the bats.
<v Speaker 3>So we'll see you know.
<v Speaker 2>Actually, this time we're gonna go one person at a time.
<v Speaker 2>I'm gonna ask you guys to make a guess.
<v Speaker 3>All right, here we go.
<v Speaker 2>No, if I know what I'm yelling at for our
<v Speaker 2>audio listeners, it is a bunch of ants attacking one
<v Speaker 2>different looking at, which actually is uncomfortable now when I
<v Speaker 2>say that out loud, though, the different looking at says
<v Speaker 2>you and the other ants are them?
<v Speaker 3>Janet Choa, do you have a guess for what game
<v Speaker 3>this is? I'm trying to get it loaded up for
<v Speaker 3>the folks at home.
<v Speaker 1>Is this?
<v Speaker 3>Uh god, this is gross? I don't like this Centipede?
<v Speaker 3>This is not Centipede, Jeff Backlar, what game is this?
<v Speaker 4>Hold on? I'm zooming in because the font is like
<v Speaker 4>very weird and specific on the dialogue.
<v Speaker 3>Font is often a good indicator, like it's a good
<v Speaker 3>clue to use for.
<v Speaker 4>I think this is.
<v Speaker 5>Like unreal.
<v Speaker 3>This is not unreal. Is this Command and Conquer game? Dan?
<v Speaker 3>This is not Command and Conquer, Mike Manati.
<v Speaker 5>Is it an Earth Defense Force game?
<v Speaker 3>This is not Earth Defense Horse all right, you guys
<v Speaker 3>want to we can open it up to the floor.
<v Speaker 5>Is it an RTS?
<v Speaker 3>I feel like they're trying to do the swarming enemies thing.
<v Speaker 3>It is not an RTS.
<v Speaker 5>Is it okay?
<v Speaker 3>Like dual stick shoot like a robotron of some sort. No,
<v Speaker 3>it is not a shooter like Robotron. No a schmuff.
<v Speaker 4>It is not a schmup Warriors? Was anyone in the ballpark?
<v Speaker 4>Dynasty Wars is a good guest too.
<v Speaker 3>It is not Dynasty Warriors.
<v Speaker 4>Someone's been in the ballpark, Capeche matter, I don't think so,
<v Speaker 4>do not matter which answer was in the ballpark?
<v Speaker 5>Yeah?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, that's gonna give it away too much?
<v Speaker 5>Oh wow, great?
<v Speaker 2>So would we saund like it's not exactly right or
<v Speaker 2>something like that. But it's like, but once I say,
<v Speaker 2>it's like, you guys will just do the process of eliminations,
<v Speaker 2>is it?
<v Speaker 3>Jeffre Semini? It is not Jet Force Jimini? And you
<v Speaker 3>are along the wrong lines?
<v Speaker 5>Are the ladies bug like?
<v Speaker 3>Not really?
<v Speaker 1>No?
<v Speaker 3>Are they? Dude? Planet? It is not lost planet? Wait?
<v Speaker 4>What was your original guest?
<v Speaker 5>Dan uh?
<v Speaker 3>Command of conquer like and that's not ants.
<v Speaker 5>Unreal? Is it doom? This is doom for the Super
<v Speaker 5>Nintendo's say, damn nice good man, you're right there, You're.
<v Speaker 2>Right there, had it basically you you almost said it
<v Speaker 2>on the first try back of are really good?
<v Speaker 5>It's doom.
<v Speaker 3>It's at the port for Super Nintendo.
<v Speaker 5>Yes, well done, Domus always saying Capeche so you know
<v Speaker 5>the aial ad is capeche pointing at the Doom logo,
<v Speaker 5>Like the Doom logo is saying capeche.
<v Speaker 4>What's crazy is the I in my mind? Because Jen,
<v Speaker 4>can you back me up on this font thing? This
<v Speaker 4>font I'm telling you took me to like those games.
<v Speaker 4>I don't know why, Like the box are at the
<v Speaker 4>no Like there's something maybe like the logo of like
<v Speaker 4>the font they used on the r or like the
<v Speaker 4>quotes on the back or something like that.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, this is very much I started thinking of like
<v Speaker 1>brain age stuff. But yeah, I uh, I'm.
<v Speaker 3>Happy for you guys. Well done.
<v Speaker 2>That's another grub guesser in the camp. Thanks for watching, everybody.
<v Speaker 2>We'll be back next time.
<v Speaker 1>Hell yeah, fantastic For audio listeners. You missed Jeff Backlar
<v Speaker 1>doing a standing backflip after nailing that head phones. It's
<v Speaker 1>still connected. Yeah yeah, I'm hurting, like Manati hit me
<v Speaker 1>with some YouTube super chats if we have any right.
<v Speaker 5>First, one's a doozy uh slaveh Bic Austin says we
<v Speaker 5>need a new rule for bike club. Each of you
<v Speaker 5>need to pick a successor one has to fish to
<v Speaker 5>give your play. You die before that? Yeah, what would
<v Speaker 5>we have done if damn time on a plane.
<v Speaker 2>I think the original rule was if one of us dies,
<v Speaker 2>we do have to have someone replace us, like we
<v Speaker 2>had to pick a successor. I thought that was that
