He probably thought about winning a gold medal for his country or winning something internationally for his country. And to be able to do that in the Olympics with players you probably grew up with, you know, throughout your junior high, high school days. You end up winning a bronze medal, that's a that's a huge deal. These are his friend's teammates growing up, the people he plays with in Denver. You know, they come and go. Speaker 3: You also have the scoring scandal or controversy with figure skating. Whenever there's judges involved, that's when it gets a little dicey for me open to interpretation. And then you have this judge from this country, and then all of a sudden, you got a controversy. Ukrainian athlete was kicked out of the Olympics for wanting to wear a helmet honoring fellow athletes killed in the invasion of their country. The IOC said that this was not about the messaging. It's literally about the rules and the regulations. I see decals on helmets all the time, it feels like, but maybe this was a political statement there in the IFC. Of course, nothing political to see here. But Mike Tarico will join us in the final hour of the program. He's had a busy week doing the Super Bowl and now hosting the Winter Olympics. The latest attempt to curb tanking, the NBA handed down fines to the pacers in Jazz yesterday. And I don't know if this is related to us in the media talking about this the last couple of days, because this tanking has been around this season. I don't know if it was like, all right, we got to do something before we go into the All Star weekend. That was my read on this, whether it's true or not. But you had Utah, that's a half million dollar fine Indiana one hundred thousand dollars. Go back to twenty eighteen when we had then owner mas mAbs owner Mark cuban On and it costing five hundred thousand dollars when he admitted to me that they kind of had front office tanking and the NBA did not think too keenly on that cost him a half million dollars. The Jazz were fined one hundred thousand dollars for sitting Lorie Marketing in multiple games. So the discipline is public, the headline's loud, but the behavior didn't change and probably won't change. If you have that great talent that's possibly there for the lottery, it's going to continue. Really, that's the core issue that the league may mean business, but intent and impact are not the same. And until losing no longer effects the payoff, the fines will probably continue here. But here's a team worth three and a half billion dollars, So what's a five hundred thousand dollars fine? And as we move forward, you probably have four players in this draft who will probably come in and contribute, if not start right away.

I remember once Calvin Murphy was going against Connie Hawkins. It was first to tend by one's hack court outside. I used to love it. And also, some people are complaining that the Wizards let Anthony Davis have Michael Jordan's number twenty three. I'm like, come on, it's not like the Bulls let him have it, and I would guess mj couldn't care less. And lastly, logistically it's certainly possible. Speaker 3: The Pacers are accused of violating the NBA's player Participation Policy in connection with the game against the Jazz An NBA investigation included a review by an independent doctor, found that Pascal Siakam and two other starters all were held out could have played under the policy's medical standard. Siakam was officially held out due to rest, but the NBA said the Pacers could have held the players out of other games in a way that would have better promoted compliance with the policy. The Jazz won that game over Indiana and Big Brothers watching.

Jannis with what he did with Milwaukee with downtown, these are hundreds of millions of dollars that one player. Now, how often do we have those players come along? Well, Jannis wasn't a number one pick overall. Joker not a number one pick overall. Sometimes you can get that number one pick and all of a sudden that guy is not, you know, transformational. That maybe it's the fifth pick, the tenth pick, twelfth, and that that's where we get geared up. Anthony Bennett was a number one pick overall, Markel Foltz was a number one pick overall, Michael Olova, Candy a number one pick overall, LaRue Martin a number one pick overall. You can have the pick, it doesn't mean it's the right pick.
