[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, grow squad, welcome to another edition. [SPEAKER_00]: Another episode, I said, say, another edition of the episode of the Eugene Hamilton podcast. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you so much for joining me today. [SPEAKER_00]: This is a podcast where we strive each and every episode to find something, something nugget that will help us go, grow and glow in the world. [SPEAKER_00]: Each episode we're trying to find our way towards something that will give us some sense of direction. [SPEAKER_00]: And today's episode, oh, very, very intently talks about, we're talking about the fact that sometimes we find nuggets that give us clarity. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Shout out to my buddy, Seth Yulora. [SPEAKER_00]: Check him out. [SPEAKER_00]: He works his company's called Vision Clarity. [SPEAKER_00]: And he really, really inspired me with regard to this whole idea of clarity. [SPEAKER_00]: And what it can mean for your life, for your mission, for your goals, and for your even your personal vision. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's pray. [SPEAKER_00]: And let's unpack it. [SPEAKER_00]: God, we are grateful for this moment. [SPEAKER_00]: give us clarity, give us what we need at this time that we might move forward, and that we might be clear on which way that we should go in your name, amen. [SPEAKER_00]: A clarity, I put it out there. [SPEAKER_00]: From the jump, begin how it already. [SPEAKER_00]: Clarity essentially comes from action. [SPEAKER_00]: Have you ever sat in your room, writing down goals, dreams, aspirations, things that you were going to accomplish, but you were inactive on them? [SPEAKER_00]: We've ever sat down and you had everything kind of just like, I'm gonna do this next, this next, I'm gonna do this by this date, but then you had no action behind it. [SPEAKER_00]: Have you ever had fitness goals? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And you said to yourself, by this date, I'm going to be, at this weight, at this date, I'm going to have this blood pressure reading for this date. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to have, and you kept eating the same way you didn't exercise. [SPEAKER_00]: You essentially were inactive that clouded, right? [SPEAKER_00]: That did out of for you the opportunity to reach the desired outcome. [SPEAKER_00]: Clarity comes from movement. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to understand that there is a direct link between moving towards your goals and writing down your goals. [SPEAKER_00]: Check it out. [SPEAKER_00]: In fact, next week we're going to talk a little bit about this reset that we need to hit because some of you all some of us have given up on our goals because we're halfway through the year, but I got to meet you in message. [SPEAKER_00]: I want to give to you next week. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not getting into that right now. [SPEAKER_00]: I am simply hanging my hat right now on how to get clear on what's next. [SPEAKER_00]: There is a [SPEAKER_00]: saying that I know sounds good, especially as motivational speaker, as a person that inspires audiences. [SPEAKER_00]: It's invoked for me to tell you that never give up. [SPEAKER_00]: It sounds cool, right? [SPEAKER_00]: It sounds great. [SPEAKER_00]: It's almost as if man, you would think that I've earned my dollar. [SPEAKER_00]: If I give you a rousing message around how to never give up. [SPEAKER_00]: In fact, there's been an episode that I've done about this idea of never giving up. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's funny because, you know, in life, sometimes when you reach a certain point, we are shy about growth. [SPEAKER_00]: Right, we think to ourselves, you know, I had a certain stance when I was thirty, now I'm fifty, I can't go back on it because at thirty, I was a professional too. [SPEAKER_00]: So don't want to look like I was, I was too immature. [SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, I've grown doing this, doing this podcast time that I've been podcasting, I should say. [SPEAKER_00]: And at one point, I gave you a message and I kind of told you to never give up. [SPEAKER_00]: And I get it. [SPEAKER_00]: In fact, last week, right, there was a, there was this understanding of, hey, keep going. [SPEAKER_00]: Don't give up, but I get it. [SPEAKER_00]: I get it now. [SPEAKER_00]: I get it now. [SPEAKER_00]: There should always be in our minds a give up line. [SPEAKER_00]: We should be clear on where we're going. [SPEAKER_00]: We should be clear on the direction that God has taken us in, but sometimes, do you have a found yourself spinning your wheels in a certain direction because you will going in the wrong direction? [SPEAKER_00]: You have found yourself sometimes because you don't have a give up line, you keep working on something and that you shouldn't be working on. [SPEAKER_00]: Like right now, if I tell you that I shot one hundred three pointers this morning, [SPEAKER_00]: You would think, I've lost my mind. [SPEAKER_00]: If I tell you right now, my goal is to go to the NBA or the NFL, you're like, dude, please, please stop. [SPEAKER_00]: Please, you've passed a giveaway. [SPEAKER_00]: You should be putting your energy towards something that is in line with your purpose today. [SPEAKER_00]: You should be clear about the fact that, hey, what is my giveaway? [SPEAKER_00]: You should be clear about the fact that, hey, I'm gonna put this, one of the things that's always tricky, in fact, all of us at some point try to think about, or we think about, or we think about it, or we try to, we try hand at dabbling in the stock market. [SPEAKER_00]: If you ever see somebody go completely broke because it didn't have a give up line. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna try one more time. [SPEAKER_00]: I got another strategy, right? [SPEAKER_00]: This is why I'm amazed at people that gamble. [SPEAKER_00]: No judgment. [SPEAKER_00]: When you guys should go in there and lose all your money. [SPEAKER_00]: And then you know, your heart goes out because sometimes people will win stuff, right? [SPEAKER_00]: I won thirty five hundred dollars and then they went back and gamble that away. [SPEAKER_00]: Like man, wow, you don't have a give up line. [SPEAKER_00]: All right. [SPEAKER_00]: All right. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm clear, you know, before I engage in something, it's for the most part. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying to myself, hey, I'm going to invest this amount of money. [SPEAKER_00]: And if this amount of money and I get it, there are people who push the line and whatever agreement they have with their significant other, their wife, their spouse, their husband, that's on them. [SPEAKER_00]: They bet the house on stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: There are certain people who are able to see that through, but buy in large. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's regular folk. [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes it's [SPEAKER_00]: It's to our advantage to be clear about how much activity or how much action we're going to give a certain idea, goal and dream. [SPEAKER_00]: In other words, how much are you going to give and for how long? [SPEAKER_00]: to see something through. [SPEAKER_00]: In fact, there was a research published in the journal Frontiers and Psychology, and it showed that people that regularly engage in, sorry, I'm sorry, I studied from the University of Bristol, I should say. [SPEAKER_00]: found that individuals who incorporate in their dated routine, mental exercises that kind of pushed them in a place where they are no longer sitting stagnant. [SPEAKER_00]: We find that this consistent practice of moving their brain to get them into action, to move toward a certain goal, helps them establish a sense of structure. [SPEAKER_00]: So sometimes you move in their own direction. [SPEAKER_00]: We'll clear about [SPEAKER_00]: where we want to go. [SPEAKER_00]: And I just told you a few minutes ago that what sometimes clears up murky water is action. [SPEAKER_00]: But the same token I don't want you to want to caution you about having too much action in the wrong direction. [SPEAKER_00]: I want to caution you on this whole idea of [SPEAKER_00]: As long as I'm just doing something, I'm moving. [SPEAKER_00]: I remember I was early in my journey of entrepreneurship and excuse me, excuse me, and I was just doing something every day, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Just doing something. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm saying to myself, [SPEAKER_00]: Eugene, you're doing stuff, but you don't have a system. [SPEAKER_00]: You're doing stuff cool, right? [SPEAKER_00]: But you haven't planned out what you're doing, right? [SPEAKER_00]: You got lots of going on. [SPEAKER_00]: You're saying a whole lot of stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: You're moving here, moving there. [SPEAKER_00]: But if you don't have a system to put in play, and you're not clear on the system that you're putting into play, [SPEAKER_00]: that may lead to more confusion on your behalf. [SPEAKER_00]: So what am I saying? [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, clarity comes from action. [SPEAKER_00]: But we've got to be careful about the kind of action that we're putting into place to reach said goal. [SPEAKER_00]: Understand this because there are people who are runners. [SPEAKER_00]: You're seeing distance runners. [SPEAKER_00]: They have a certain physique, right? [SPEAKER_00]: For the most part, distance runners do not want to carry a lot of excess weight. [SPEAKER_00]: They want to have endurance. [SPEAKER_00]: They want to be able to carry as light as they possibly can for their frame. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, if you found a distance runner in the gym saying, oh, I'm just, I'm moving. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm active and they appear bench pressing a whole lot adding a lot of muscle. [SPEAKER_00]: He's like, yeah, yeah, but you, you, you, you, you have too much activity in the wrong direction. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's get back on this pavement. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, we won't should let for a couple of weeks. [SPEAKER_00]: It won't just be strong. [SPEAKER_00]: But we don't want you to bench press in four hundred pounds. [SPEAKER_00]: So understand this because some of you right now are struggling with this idea of getting clear on something that you're supposed to be doing. [SPEAKER_00]: And because you're not totally clear, all you do every day is scroll, social media and look at people who are doing what it is you know you're supposed to be doing. [SPEAKER_00]: You have calling you out. [SPEAKER_00]: Some of you right now, you go to a coffee shop or you wake up in the morning, you do certain routines and then you find yourself, I heard this term. [SPEAKER_00]: I never heard it before. [SPEAKER_00]: I heard it just last week. [SPEAKER_00]: Who said this? [SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't matter. [SPEAKER_00]: They called it doom scrolling. [SPEAKER_00]: You heard the time before? [SPEAKER_00]: Never heard it before, right? [SPEAKER_00]: In other words, you're just sitting there for hours scrolling, just scrolling, just scrolling. [SPEAKER_00]: Looking at people's lives, right? [SPEAKER_00]: It's almost funny because I heard this guy talk about the fact that he loves his house. [SPEAKER_00]: until he goes to a certain company's site on Instagram. [SPEAKER_00]: I forgot the name of the site. [SPEAKER_00]: He said, man, I love my house. [SPEAKER_00]: I love my little yard. [SPEAKER_00]: I love my, you know, the house is fine for our family, but as soon as I go on that particular Instagram page, I no longer like my house. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm looking at somebody else's house. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm just scrolling, scrolling as a bigger house. [SPEAKER_00]: In other words, I become, first of all, I become stagnant because I'm sitting there for hours looking at somebody's house. [SPEAKER_00]: Then I become disgruntled with my own stuff, my own situation, even though my house is simply just fine, it's what my money can pay for at this moment at time. [SPEAKER_00]: But I find myself in a pickle because I'm scrolling somebody else's blessings and counting somebody else's pockets, oftentimes when we have goals for our lives. [SPEAKER_00]: If we don't know what to do, instead of figuring it out, so many of us are just guilty of doing nothing. [SPEAKER_00]: Instead of taking the time to figure it out. [SPEAKER_00]: Instead of taking the time to, listen, when I first wanted to become a consultant, particularly in the education space, I found someone online who was doing what I wanted to do. [SPEAKER_00]: Two days, I gave myself two days. [SPEAKER_00]: I looked through their page. [SPEAKER_00]: I saw certain events. [SPEAKER_00]: They were in. [SPEAKER_00]: I said, wow, this person's really doing what they're doing. [SPEAKER_00]: I kept looking another day. [SPEAKER_00]: They're on airplanes, they're doing all this stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: See, you know what? [SPEAKER_00]: Instead of me just continuing to look at there, if I'm not going to really take notes because there wasn't a lot of notes I could take from just the snapshots and be careful of that. [SPEAKER_00]: You don't know what people go through the grind that it takes from the get to where they are. [SPEAKER_00]: So don't just look at the snapshots, but most of the snapshots are cute online. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't show you the blood sweating tears. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't show you the long mics. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't show you all the nose. [SPEAKER_00]: Go back to the last episode. [SPEAKER_00]: If you didn't hear about rejection, they don't show you all the rejection. [SPEAKER_00]: They just show you the yeses for the most part. [SPEAKER_00]: And that because it's trying a lot of you, but they know that people understand that winds are often motivation for people. [SPEAKER_00]: So I show you my wins and that might motivate you. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's fine. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying they're wrong for showing you their highlight real, but know this, what you see online is just that a highlight real. [SPEAKER_00]: And oftentimes, we don't have clarity. [SPEAKER_00]: We don't have action, I should say, about what it is that we should be doing because we sit here and watch people's high wheels. [SPEAKER_00]: So I look through this guy's page for a couple of days. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll say, let me shoot him a message. [SPEAKER_00]: No reply. [SPEAKER_00]: Two weeks go by. [SPEAKER_00]: Let me shoot them in other message. [SPEAKER_00]: No reply. [SPEAKER_00]: Five messages later. [SPEAKER_00]: He said, man, this guy really wants my attention. [SPEAKER_00]: Let me reach out back. [SPEAKER_00]: Let me respect out to one long story short. [SPEAKER_00]: We had a conversation in the setting up a zoom call. [SPEAKER_00]: He ended up being an individual who showed me all the ropes in that space. [SPEAKER_00]: And I was able to successfully launch that particular arm of my business. [SPEAKER_00]: Not because I do them scrolled, but because as a result of going on social media, looking at somebody's wins, I said, you know what? [SPEAKER_00]: I can't just sit or be inactive. [SPEAKER_00]: Let me put some action behind this scrolling. [SPEAKER_00]: Reach out. [SPEAKER_00]: This is stuff I tell. [SPEAKER_00]: I tell young people when I go to schools all the time. [SPEAKER_00]: I said, listen, y'all be on TikTok. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm telling you as an adult, most of my audience are adults. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm telling you as well adults. [SPEAKER_00]: If you see someone online that is doing what you want to do, eat some humble pie, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Come down off your high horse and go ask some questions. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you'd be surprised at how many people actually want to help you. [SPEAKER_00]: You just got to put some action behind yourself and ask [SPEAKER_00]: You'd be surprised that the amount of people that have a wealth of knowledge to share, they don't know you. [SPEAKER_00]: You watch a number, they're not watching you, because they don't, they're not following you. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't know who you are, but you know who they are. [SPEAKER_00]: There are so many people that actually long for people to send them direct messages, because they want to see other people succeed. [SPEAKER_00]: But clarity comes from action. [SPEAKER_00]: And even reaching out to someone to show you the ropes is action. [SPEAKER_00]: And I feel the place now, I value people's time. [SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know how you do it. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll just give you a little nugget of mine. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll always offer, in most cases, I offer to pay for somebody's time because I do realize how valuable time is. [SPEAKER_00]: Right? [SPEAKER_00]: I'm kind of beyond the, let me pick your brain for free sessions, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes people will do that. [SPEAKER_00]: Right, but I at least want to let people know that I value their time. [SPEAKER_00]: But if you want to get super crystal clear about something, about a direction that's just supposed to go in about a new business venture about a new relationship about [SPEAKER_00]: School or your next steps in life, I would encourage you, not just to hear what I'm saying, but understand that action oftentimes leads to clarity. [SPEAKER_00]: Action doesn't always mean that you are working toward the goal in the moment. [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes action is gathering information about the goal. [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes action is, let me sit with some folk who have been where I'm trying to go and let me be a sponge. [SPEAKER_00]: Let me soak up all of their knowledge. [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes action is taking a season to just simply learn. [SPEAKER_00]: There's a new space I'm interested in right now. [SPEAKER_00]: It's so new that if I told you what it is, you'd be like, huh? [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it ain't no crypto, nothing like that. [SPEAKER_00]: This new space that I'm interested in. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll tell you about it later on. [SPEAKER_00]: It is so new. [SPEAKER_00]: that I said, you know what, I've got to sit down for a couple of months and just learn. [SPEAKER_00]: That's it. [SPEAKER_00]: As bad as I want to put my hand in the fire, as bad as I want to put my feet to the fire, as bad as I want to jump in the game, I actually have to sit on the sidelines for a minute. [SPEAKER_00]: I actually got a watch professionals almost like the NBA finals. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, I got a watch professionals run up and down the court, see how they do it. [SPEAKER_00]: And so as soon as, and so when my number is called, because I've witnessed, I've asked questions when that time out came. [SPEAKER_00]: I was in the huddle because I'm doing all those things. [SPEAKER_00]: My number is called, I'll be ready. [SPEAKER_00]: But for now, I'm a sponge. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm gathering info. [SPEAKER_00]: Because I want to I want to put my very best foot forward. [SPEAKER_00]: So it is and I'm wrapping up. [SPEAKER_00]: How do I gain momentum? [SPEAKER_00]: Clarity. [SPEAKER_00]: About something a project or a thing. [SPEAKER_00]: I've got to put some action behind it. [SPEAKER_00]: What does action look like? [SPEAKER_00]: It had always looked like me betting a house. [SPEAKER_00]: It had always looked like me just jumping in, not knowing what I'm doing. [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes it looks like me being a student. [SPEAKER_00]: That's action. [SPEAKER_00]: Don't everything that being a student of something is in action. [SPEAKER_00]: to learn how to podcast, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Um, I jumped right in, but sometimes I jumped in. [SPEAKER_00]: I said, oh, you know what, I didn't do anything, I didn't do a couple lessons. [SPEAKER_00]: So let me go back, right and learn some things. [SPEAKER_00]: So I don't encourage you. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, yeah, move forward. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, put some action behind it. [SPEAKER_00]: but learn which season that you're in and move full steam ahead and go after the purpose that God has for you. [SPEAKER_00]: That's about time today. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for tuning in. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you so much for your time. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you in advance for sharing this episode out with somebody who's struggling with clarity, who's struggling with action. [SPEAKER_00]: Let them know that it ain't over. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: They're still time to go to grow and to glow. [SPEAKER_00]: See you next week. [SPEAKER_00]: Take care. [SPEAKER_00]: Peace.
