<v Speaker 3>twenty five. We're gonna go through all the emails. I
<v Speaker 3>think a voicemailer two might sneak in there as we
<v Speaker 3>roll towards WrestleMania, now officially less than a month away,
<v Speaker 3>just barely but just under a month, incredibly, and we've
<v Speaker 3>got a lot more build to come, a lot more
<v Speaker 3>memorable moments, I'm sure between Sena and Rock and what
<v Speaker 3>that eventually looks like. How can they revive the World
<v Speaker 3>Championship storyline that has otherwise been kind of boring. The
<v Speaker 3>same goes for the women's side of things, with Tiffany
<v Speaker 3>Stratton and Charlotte Really both Rumble winners have not exactly
<v Speaker 3>had the most exciting build to their matches at WrestleMania.
<v Speaker 3>It has maybe been the single least exciting build collectively
<v Speaker 3>for both the men and women. Since the women have
<v Speaker 3>had the World Rumble so not exactly exciting, not to
<v Speaker 3>really rent worthy or anything, just kind of whole hum
<v Speaker 3>fans see what's gonna happen here. Most likely Jay wins,
<v Speaker 3>most likely, Tiffany Stratton retains. Most likely I say, of course,
<v Speaker 3>those could be reversed, but either way, no matter who
<v Speaker 3>wins or loses, it's really just kind of been just
<v Speaker 3>a matter of fact. And the other matches that aren't
<v Speaker 3>championship matches seem to have the most attention, outside of
<v Speaker 3>course of John Cena and Cody, which I'm sure a
<v Speaker 3>lot of the conversation will be directed to tonight. Will
<v Speaker 3>be John Cena and Cody Rhoads, and John Cena's first
<v Speaker 3>ever career at least, and since he's doctor of Thugonomics
<v Speaker 3>back in two oh three, this is the first true
<v Speaker 3>heel promo that he's cut ever, so I'm sure that'll
<v Speaker 3>be the most talked about topic tonight. But first, I'd
<v Speaker 3>like to welcome all of you who are on Patreon.

<v Speaker 3>with James. James from Glasgow. He says, I thought John
<v Speaker 3>Cena's promo was fantastic. The crowd absolutely hates him and
<v Speaker 3>he's feeding off of it. I'll still cheer when his
<v Speaker 3>music hits as I love a heel. Can't wait to
<v Speaker 3>see him on Monday. I also think we'll see Joe Hendry,
<v Speaker 3>which will be a pop of the night by far
<v Speaker 3>being announced as Jay's mystery partner with it being in Glasgow. Yeah, definitely,
<v Speaker 3>most people are expecting it to be Joe Henry. And
<v Speaker 3>why not see John Cena's run, whether it's as a
<v Speaker 3>heel or a babyface for the next eight to nine
<v Speaker 3>months to finish out his career should not just be
<v Speaker 3>these fun nostalgic matches and dream matches which will get
<v Speaker 3>many of I'm sure we haven't even seen the tip
<v Speaker 3>of it yet. With Randy Orton, lurking out there, you know,
<v Speaker 3>Ceampunk lurking out there for a one on one maybe,
<v Speaker 3>although I would say Roman reigns, but we've kind of
<v Speaker 3>been down that road before or so there's some out there.
<v Speaker 3>But what about the new stars? It should also be
<v Speaker 3>about the new stars and helping build that next generation,
<v Speaker 3>and that's what he can do here, especially with a
<v Speaker 3>guy like Joe Henry. So absolutely and that'll presumably be
<v Speaker 3>a massive pop. I feel the triple threat matches are
<v Speaker 3>being overbooked on both shows in the past few months,
<v Speaker 3>and I really don't want to see another two minimum
<v Speaker 3>at WrestleMania. Can we not just have Rollins versus Rains
<v Speaker 3>and Bianca versus Rhea. Adding Punk to the men's doesn't
<v Speaker 3>make much sense, man, I've been down this road to
<v Speaker 3>James doesn't make a lot of sense to me either.
<v Speaker 3>It seems to be overbooked, or at least maybe they
<v Speaker 3>don't know what to do with Punk if he's not
<v Speaker 3>in this matchup. I would argue it actually makes more
<v Speaker 3>sense to put him in the John Cena and Cody
<v Speaker 3>Rhad's matchup. If you're gonna put him in a triple
<v Speaker 3>threat rather than a meaningless triple threat, presumably with Rollins
<v Speaker 3>and Rains. But as I've said, Rollins and Rains solo
<v Speaker 3>is a way better story than adding Punk. I understand
<v Speaker 3>Punk's a big star in some circles, or in some
<v Speaker 3>schools of thought, even a household name, but I still
<v Speaker 3>believe having Punk in that rivalry muddies the whole story
<v Speaker 3>because it's about Rollins and Rains. The story goes back
<v Speaker 3>to Rollins and Rains, not Punk and Rollins and Rains. Yes,
<v Speaker 3>there's history with Punk and Rollins and Punk and Roman,
<v Speaker 3>but those can be explored separately. You're doing the story
<v Speaker 3>in Injustice by adding another star that has no business
<v Speaker 3>at this time being involved. Again, nothing's official, so it
<v Speaker 3>seems they're heading that direction. But with Triple h you
<v Speaker 3>never know what the hell's gonna happen. He does tend
<v Speaker 3>to draw you one way, only to pull the rugout
<v Speaker 3>and all of a sudden, we're going another way. And
<v Speaker 3>you know that if he cashes in Punk, that is
<v Speaker 3>cash is in his favor from Hyman. It's not gonna
<v Speaker 3>be for a triple thread. He can do that on
<v Speaker 3>his own. It's got to be for a world championship
<v Speaker 3>opportunity against Cody or against John Cena. Maybe he doesn't
<v Speaker 3>cash in his favor until after WrestleMania. I think that's
<v Speaker 3>actually probably the way to go cash in. If you're
<v Speaker 3>not gonna put him in a triple threat with Cody
<v Speaker 3>and John, then you're gonna put him in a matchup
<v Speaker 3>with John Cena versus cmpunk one on one, and he
<v Speaker 3>might wait till after WrestleMania. There's no need to cash
<v Speaker 3>it in before we'll see all right. So Alistair Black
<v Speaker 3>was recently released by AW. I hope we get to
<v Speaker 3>see him back in WWE. He was under used and
<v Speaker 3>had a great best of seven match against Buddy Murphy. Yes,
<v Speaker 3>totally agree. Now, this email is not too long, you say.
<v Speaker 3>You also recommend timing it in for an ICW pay
<v Speaker 3>per view, which they tend to hold once a month
<v Speaker 3>similar to WWE. There's also loads of bars and shops around.
<v Speaker 3>If you do come to Glasgow, reach out and we
<v Speaker 3>can grab a few beers. Definitely, Hey, I would love
<v Speaker 3>to go. I would love, love love to go to Scotland.
<v Speaker 3>I mean there's the scenery there, which is what draws
<v Speaker 3>most of us from North America is just incredible. Now,
<v Speaker 3>I know that's not the entire landscape. There are some
<v Speaker 3>cities and so forth in towns, but the general perception
<v Speaker 3>from those of North America is it's just this beautiful, lush,
<v Speaker 3>green landscape and there's a lot of that. But I mean,
<v Speaker 3>I don't know how I'm ever going to get out there,
<v Speaker 3>but if I ever do, James, I'll definitely reach out.
<v Speaker 3>And I mean, I'm a bit offended that you're limiting
<v Speaker 3>us to just a few beers. I do take personal
<v Speaker 3>offense to that, because if I'm flying that far and
<v Speaker 3>spending that much money to go to Scotland, a few
<v Speaker 3>will be the baseline of where I will always be,
<v Speaker 3>Like my BAC will be at a few. That's my
<v Speaker 3>like homeostasis if I'm going that far, if you catch
<v Speaker 3>my drift. But anyway, yeah, that's a good point with
<v Speaker 3>Alistair Black and Buddy Murphy. I forgot about that. Their
<v Speaker 3>Best of seven was just incredible. I totally agree many
<v Speaker 3>people don't remember that. And was that during or close
<v Speaker 3>to COVID I think it was it was around that time,
<v Speaker 3>but it was, Yeah, it was totally. I mean, you
<v Speaker 3>want to watch some pure, just professional wrestling, that is
<v Speaker 3>a great set of matches to watch, so all right,
<v Speaker 3>one more thing that I want to talk about before
<v Speaker 3>I go on to the next email and I'll get
<v Speaker 3>DJ next. I want to comment quickly on the latest
<v Speaker 3>topic before the new cycle switches over, which it does
<v Speaker 3>about every three and a half seconds. Is the John
<v Speaker 3>Moxley Edge street Fight. And if you haven't seen it,
<v Speaker 3>viewer beware, Viewer discretion advised, because I the one spot
<v Speaker 3>and this is all everyone's talking about, and with good reason.
<v Speaker 3>If you haven't seen it again, be very if you
<v Speaker 3>if you're squeamish, or if you have kids, I would
<v Speaker 3>not let them watch this.
<v Speaker 4>Uh.
<v Speaker 3>During the street fight, there was a a a wood
<v Speaker 3>stick with nails, real nails, although thick, real nails out,
<v Speaker 3>you know, poking out of it. And there was a
<v Speaker 3>spot where Edge Adam Copeland does a suplex with John
<v Speaker 3>Moxley onto that nail ridden wood plank whatever it was.
<v Speaker 3>And oh my god. I mean, I've seen so much
<v Speaker 3>stuff in wrestling, as anybody has who's been watching, you know,
<v Speaker 3>significant amount of time. We've seen some crazy stuff, make
<v Speaker 3>Foley falling off the cage through the cage during his
<v Speaker 3>match with Triple H for his retirement. We've seen flaming tables.
<v Speaker 3>We've seen thumbtacks, We've seen flaming, flaming, even barbed wire bats,
<v Speaker 3>we've seen infernal matches, but this was a new kind
<v Speaker 3>of brutality that I don't think was needed. Now whether
<v Speaker 3>or not Moxley and Edge would agree with that statement
<v Speaker 3>that it's not needed or what do you mean it's
<v Speaker 3>not needed, They've accomplished what they set out to accomplish,
<v Speaker 3>which is everyone talking about it. You're hearing me talk
<v Speaker 3>about it. It gets attention back on the product that
<v Speaker 3>desperately needs attention right now, desperately. Their attendance is not
<v Speaker 3>in a good place. They had to scale back the
<v Speaker 3>events or the arenas, the venues. They should say that
<v Speaker 3>they were booking because they were getting embarrassingly low attendants.
<v Speaker 3>And you know, I'm not wishing for the death of
<v Speaker 3>aw In fact, I hope they thrive, but they're trying
<v Speaker 3>to get attention any way they can, and it feels
<v Speaker 3>like a desperation move and I hope it brings attention
<v Speaker 3>to them, But I also fear for the safety of
<v Speaker 3>John Moxley himself. Like those nails did not look clean.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, he tore the flesh off of him. Also
<v Speaker 3>those nails go into your spine and guess what's right there,
<v Speaker 3>your spinal cord, your spine. I mean, your spine has
<v Speaker 3>no protection other than that bone that's right there, and
<v Speaker 3>the nails were right there. Infections are at high risk, unnecessary.
<v Speaker 3>I don't need that from wrestling, and that's a turn
<v Speaker 3>off for me when it gets to that level where
<v Speaker 3>the safety is clearly being put on the back burner
<v Speaker 3>for simple attention. I respect him for doing it. I
<v Speaker 3>understand why he did it because everyone's talking about it,
<v Speaker 3>and for that, I understand he's doing what he feels
<v Speaker 3>is best for him and for the company to get attention.
<v Speaker 3>But even if that's the overarching goal, and it does
<v Speaker 3>get a quick little boost, you know, in clicks on
<v Speaker 3>YouTube and it's getting a ton of views and comments,
<v Speaker 3>it's all over TikTok and YouTube and you know, you
<v Speaker 3>name your you name your social media platform, it's there.
<v Speaker 3>It's getting a lot of that attention. But what I
<v Speaker 3>also argue is even though you're setting out to achieve
<v Speaker 3>that goal and you have of getting attention and more eyeballs,
<v Speaker 3>it's not going to last long. That's not a long
<v Speaker 3>term good strategy for getting people to, you know, either
<v Speaker 3>come back to or start to watch. Aw It may
<v Speaker 3>get a quick interest of like, oh my god, but
<v Speaker 3>I don't think many people are thinking to themselves, Wow,
<v Speaker 3>this is awesome. I want to watch this every single week.
<v Speaker 3>This is a great company that I can see getting
<v Speaker 3>behind and watching this every week. It's not going to
<v Speaker 3>bring in long term viewers, which is ultimately the lifeblood
<v Speaker 3>of any organization is long term consumers, brand loyalty. I
<v Speaker 3>don't think it's going to achieve that. So you're getting
<v Speaker 3>a quick spike, a quick conversation piece. And I respect
<v Speaker 3>him for that. He's doing what he again, I'm not
<v Speaker 3>crapping on him for it, but I don't think it's
<v Speaker 3>going to have the long term effect he thinks it is.
<v Speaker 3>And I just I think it's a If I were
<v Speaker 3>to make the call, I wouldn't have had that spot
<v Speaker 3>happen at all.
<v Speaker 2>So I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>Let me go at you guys, think about the John
<v Speaker 3>Moxley spot with Edge. I know this is the WWE podcast,
<v Speaker 3>but look, this is a this is a news story
<v Speaker 3>that is overlapping with WWE viewers, and I wanted to
<v Speaker 3>talk about it again. If you're squeamish. Don't watch the clip,
<v Speaker 3>all right, It's like a car crash. You can't unsee
<v Speaker 3>what do the people look like inside? Can't unsee that?
<v Speaker 3>So anyway, let's go to DJ.
<v Speaker 4>Andy.
<v Speaker 3>He says, I think I got it what everybody's been
<v Speaker 3>talking about and speculating about, this potential triple threat of Roman,
<v Speaker 3>Punk and Rollins for WrestleMania forty one. After this, I
<v Speaker 3>will not talk about this potential triple threat again until
<v Speaker 3>either it happens at WrestleMania or Backlash. I'm not gonna
<v Speaker 3>say WrestleMania Backlash. Yeah, I'm not doing that anyway. Here's
<v Speaker 3>my idea. What if this potential triple threat at Mania
<v Speaker 3>becomes a number one contenders match for the Cody's undisputed Championship.
<v Speaker 3>Since Punk didn't win the chamber, how about he wins
<v Speaker 3>the triple threat on Night one and then be included
<v Speaker 3>in the championship match against Cody and seeing it for
<v Speaker 3>Night two. Yes, I know, going from one triple threat
<v Speaker 3>to another triple threat is a bit much, but it's
<v Speaker 3>WrestleMania and Punk still has a bone to pay. Lucina
<v Speaker 3>I totally agree.
<v Speaker 2>I don't.
<v Speaker 3>There are so many ways to go. There's not a
<v Speaker 3>single right way that is the only way that that
<v Speaker 3>option doesn't exist. There's a lot of really good options
<v Speaker 3>and this is one of them. This is one of
<v Speaker 3>I think probably a dozen things you could do that
<v Speaker 3>are good at WrestleMania. Now this option, though, is that
<v Speaker 3>the best? Well that's always subjective. But here's the drawbacks
<v Speaker 3>of that. If you were going to make a triple
<v Speaker 3>threat where the winner of that particular matchup faces or
<v Speaker 3>gets injected into the championship match the following night, once again,
<v Speaker 3>you're muddying the water a little bit with the Cody
<v Speaker 3>Sina story that has been singularly Cody Versusena and the
<v Speaker 3>turn of Sena and Cody, and there's a good story
<v Speaker 3>to tell with just those two without a third person
<v Speaker 3>coming in. So there's the muddying of the water if
<v Speaker 3>you like singular stories and not a third wheel. Secondly,
<v Speaker 3>you're also presumably going to be clogging up both main
<v Speaker 3>events for WrestleMania. If you care about this kind of thing,
<v Speaker 3>and a lot of people do. Perception of this storyline
<v Speaker 3>taking over all main events for the second ear in
<v Speaker 3>a row would sit poorly with some people, maybe the fans,
<v Speaker 3>maybe I'm sure a lot of the guys in gals
<v Speaker 3>backstage would be like, oh my god, because now you're
<v Speaker 3>having just like last year with the tag team match
<v Speaker 3>with the Rock Roman with what happened with Cody last year,
<v Speaker 3>and he had to win that to get rid of
<v Speaker 3>Bloodline Rules, but he lost, so Bloodlined Rules applied, which
<v Speaker 3>followed into Night two. Now you're going to do the
<v Speaker 3>same thing again, different story, but same kind of premise
<v Speaker 3>where the winner of that has an effect on Night two,
<v Speaker 3>and that obviously would be a main event for Night one.
<v Speaker 3>So I mean, I guess you don't have to make
<v Speaker 3>it the main event, but if it's that important and
<v Speaker 3>you have three big stars like that, they probably would
<v Speaker 3>make it the main event. Over Jay versus Gunther, because,
<v Speaker 3>as I said, let's be honest, Gunther and Jay has
<v Speaker 3>been extremely boring, has not had it needs a shot
<v Speaker 3>in the arm in a big way. I don't think
<v Speaker 3>it's deserving of the main event. I understand it's the
<v Speaker 3>world title, and I am a big fan of adding
<v Speaker 3>value to world titles to make them important, but in
<v Speaker 3>this case, the story has been just as I said,
<v Speaker 3>just blase. Now, the other thing I would say, while
<v Speaker 3>I'm on it because you reminded me of it, and
<v Speaker 3>I wanted to say this when Cody Rhads came out
<v Speaker 3>on Raw and he confronted John Cena and he, you know,
<v Speaker 3>the pretty much the money line was, I don't want
<v Speaker 3>to be I don't want to talk to this whiny,
<v Speaker 3>which again PG guys can't say it here, but if
<v Speaker 3>you know what I mean, that's fine. And it was
<v Speaker 3>a memorable line, and I think he did a good job.
<v Speaker 3>But I my concern is he comes out Cody Roads
<v Speaker 3>that is on Raw prior to this, and he ends
<v Speaker 3>up giving a Crossroads to the mis unprovoked, and yet
<v Speaker 3>John Cena the last time he saw him, gives him
<v Speaker 3>a blacky old I was Travis Scott who gave him
<v Speaker 3>a black guy. He ends up giving him a low blow,
<v Speaker 3>kicking him in the nuts, bloodying him, beating him down,
<v Speaker 3>humiliating him, and he doesn't just attack John Cena yet
<v Speaker 3>he attacks the mi is and all he's got his
<v Speaker 3>words for John Cena. So while I do think that's
<v Speaker 3>segment was very strong, there is a bit a bit
<v Speaker 3>of a disconnect there where it's like hey, uh hey, hey, Cody,
<v Speaker 3>what does someone have to do to you. What more
<v Speaker 3>could they do to you to have you just come
<v Speaker 3>out and, you know, not talk, just try to beat
<v Speaker 3>his ass. Now, Cody's very skilled on the mic. We
<v Speaker 3>wanted to see that interaction, but there was nothing. I mean,
<v Speaker 3>you could have had a at that point, not a
<v Speaker 3>polar part brawl, but somebody holding back Cody, Nobody holding
<v Speaker 3>back John Cena. You could have had something like that.
<v Speaker 3>And it just made no sense that Cody just had
<v Speaker 3>the restraint to go, Yeah, I don't want to wrestle you.
<v Speaker 3>I want to wrestle the guy that's on your shirt.
<v Speaker 3>And Seeya like, what what do you mean?
<v Speaker 2>Did you did he?
<v Speaker 3>Did he not just whip your ass in front of
<v Speaker 3>millions of people in the most viewed, you know, YouTube
<v Speaker 3>clip of all time, And like, I don't know it's
<v Speaker 3>it is. It's just a bit of a disconnect on
<v Speaker 3>that front. Okay, let's continue with DJ here. I was
<v Speaker 3>recently watching on Thursday the incredible three stages of hell
<v Speaker 3>Match from No Way Out two thousand and one of
<v Speaker 3>Triple H versus Stone Cold Steve Aouston, and it got
<v Speaker 3>me thinking, how about if WWE brings this concept back
<v Speaker 3>in twenty twenty five and how fitting would it be
<v Speaker 3>if the potential Jacob Fatu Bronze Stroman match at WrestleMania
<v Speaker 3>becomes the Three Stages of Hell match. I'm surprised that
<v Speaker 3>WWE doesn't use this concept for MacIntyre and Punk last year. Anyway,
<v Speaker 3>back to Fatu and Stroman, with the potential three Stages
<v Speaker 3>of Hell, this could be how the feud comes to
<v Speaker 3>an end, with Jacob Fatu moving on to contend for
<v Speaker 3>the US title or even possibly winning this year's Money
<v Speaker 3>in the Bank. The first match of the Three Stages
<v Speaker 3>of Hell could be a regular match, the second could
<v Speaker 3>be a No dq A street fight, and the third
<v Speaker 3>could be a cell match Hell in a cell match.
<v Speaker 3>Just a thought to marinate on as I enjoyed watching
<v Speaker 3>Triple H and Austin's Three Stages of Hell at No
<v Speaker 3>Way Out two thousand and one. Now, DJ, this is
<v Speaker 3>one of my favorite matches of all time. I don't
<v Speaker 3>really ever talk about it too much. It is that
<v Speaker 3>that is I would highly recommend even if you some
<v Speaker 3>of you weren't even born then, but if you weren't
<v Speaker 3>a wrestling fan back then, or you missed this totally
<v Speaker 3>worth This match was probably forty minutes however long it
<v Speaker 3>was between Austin and Triple H because it was so
<v Speaker 3>well done. The build was impeccably done. They couldn't touch
<v Speaker 3>each other prior to a match, or Austin would never
<v Speaker 3>get a Championship match again and Triple H would be
<v Speaker 3>suspended for six months. It was just a great build,
<v Speaker 3>a great build. Austin stuns Stephanie and then Triple H
<v Speaker 3>breaks the arm of JR. Just just brilliant and I
<v Speaker 3>loved this match. I know this isn't really about the
<v Speaker 3>No Way Out two thousand and one, which is incredibly
<v Speaker 3>nearly a quarter of a century ago. Wow, But I
<v Speaker 3>don't mind those that format being brought back. I really don't.
<v Speaker 3>Is it worthy of stroman in fat too? Sure, sure
<v Speaker 3>it is, It may not be, or it may be.
<v Speaker 3>But the only problem I have with this format just
<v Speaker 3>as a concept is ninety nine percent of the time
<v Speaker 3>you know that it's gonna go three. You know, I've
<v Speaker 3>seen it where it goes two. It might have been
<v Speaker 3>even in a different promotion where you know one person
<v Speaker 3>wins back to back matches and then the third match
<v Speaker 3>is irrelevant, but you it kind of takes a little
<v Speaker 3>bit of the fun out of it, knowing, Okay, one's
<v Speaker 3>gonna win one, the next one's gonna win the next one.
<v Speaker 3>You know, the other opponent's gonna win the next one,
<v Speaker 3>so we have to get to a third one. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>So it's like those first two matches are just kind
<v Speaker 3>of formality to get to the third match that you
<v Speaker 3>know is gonna happen no matter what. So yeah, that's
<v Speaker 3>I don't mind it generally, I don't mind it all right.
<v Speaker 3>John Cena promo from Monday was different than I expected.
<v Speaker 3>He delivered it from a victim's point of view by
<v Speaker 3>saying he's tired of the punchlines and you can't see
<v Speaker 3>me jokes. If you haven't noticed seen his posts on Instagram.
<v Speaker 3>One of the prior to this episode had a picture

<v Speaker 3>correct strategic decision to build your next generation of fans

<v Speaker 3>product if it's still got a lot of sex and
<v Speaker 3>blood and guts in it, because you have parents who,
<v Speaker 3>if you're a good parent, shielding your children from that stuff,

<v Speaker 3>smart decision totally. But I despised him for that, and

<v Speaker 4>steel cage minus the siring stuff that you know WW
<v Speaker 4>has for Survivor series with their war games. But the
<v Speaker 4>nice matchup as this matchup lasted seventeen minutes and two
<v Speaker 4>seconds as Joe Hendry's team gets the victory. But postmatch
<v Speaker 4>we get a heel turned. That's right, Nick Nemett, who
<v Speaker 4>was alongside Joe Hendry's team as the fifth member he
<v Speaker 4>turned heel officially turned a heel as everybody left. As
<v Speaker 4>all the babyfaces left the cage, we get Ryan Nemett,
<v Speaker 4>we get Nick Nemett and we get Matt Hardy as
<v Speaker 4>they locked the steel cage do and proceed to attack
<v Speaker 4>Matt Hardy. Joe Hendry was trying to get inside the
