come back. And I got my master's in child psychology
and I did that. I made way more money.

playing basketball to like being the ultimate athlete?
You know what, I was a real cocky basketball player,
and I can I this is PG thirteen. Well, like
I talked my ship the type of person where like
I get in people's head. I was very just like,
what the fuck are you gonna do? So it helps
me out with my character because my character is real cocky.

what you're gonna do about it? That's where it helps
me out, and I like to compete. You say that

That's the type of person I am. So it just
helps me out, full around and being a child psychologist.

What made you go to Jacksonville? Though?
My grandmother was sick and I needed to be closer
to home because it actually was going to go to
Georgia State. And then when my grandmother got sick, I
wanted to be closer to homespect and I actually got
out of my scholarship, which was crazy because at the time,
that's when like you couldn't It's basketball is so weird
to me now because you could just transfer to a
different school each year and I would have had to
sit out an entire year. So for some I got
out of it, and then everything just started getting so different.
Conferences are different. I don't even watch basketball like I
used to.

I am my gosh, my finance could have got paid.
Twenty one thirteen and six. It's nuts at schools all.

my senior I'm my senior now, my senior sophomore. My
senior year I critic so my senior year I kind
of I was just like, I'll do this for fun,
but this isn't I knew I wasn't going to go pro,

fun and I'll use the money to get my education
for my masters. That's what I did.

No, Well, in high school. I was in at three
different schools. I sat out my junior year. It's a law.
I had to go to court, so I had to.
I went to two different two different schools. But I

I was good, but so I got cleared. I was
clear to play to games. I scored twenty two points
in my first game, and that's when they pulled me
back and I had to go back to court and
I it was overturned.
And that's a journey.

and do and whatever.

So how'd you get into wrestling?
Mark Henry had found me the Hall of Dame Mark Henry.
I love him to death. That's like my wrestling dad.
He was like, you know, we had a mutual friend.
He was like, you ever thought about wrestling? I laughed
out loud because I was like wrestling, Like, who wrestles? Like,
I haven't watched wrestling since. I was like, well, because
I used to love it. And so I went to
a tryout, did amazing, ended up going to another company
and I had my debut match with Cody Rose, who
is our champion, and Shaquille O'Neill was my partner, and
it was more like no one gets those type of
matches other than like if your legacy or something like that.
But it's fun. It's nothing like it. And the fact
that if you play basketball, you know how it has
entertained someone and you know the feeling of being in
the spotlight and just taking it all in, soaking all
and it's just one of the same for me. It
was easy.

Damn, Were you always like physically built like this or
you had to start?
No, I have great genetics, but I work hard. I
really do work hard because working out is like my job.
So I've always been genetically gifted.
On this show, now, you talk about growing to watch
the wrestling with some of your fair wrestlers of somebody
that you rocked with early.
On China China Juzz. Growing up, like I'm from the hood,
I didn't see a lot of women that looked like
super built and look like that. And I was picked
on growing up because I was so muscular, like they'll say, oh,
she's a man, she'd But I seen this these two
women actually Jacqueline as well, and I was like, damn,
Like they look great and the fact they have so
much confidence they're walking out there. They don't give a
damn who you are, what you about. They're gonna show
you what they're about. I was just like, yeah, I
like that. I have to embody that. So those are
the three women that I looked up to and I
was like, I want that sure, for.
Sure, I'm trying to I'm a wrestling fan, so I
watched wrestling these dudes.

Are you guys coming to the show? For most you'll

Now, speaking of wrestling, I want to ask you what
was that like, you know, being a wrestlemert in your
first wrestling that's my second second, my fuck, disrespect.
It was great. The crowd is electric for me. The
bigger the crowd, the more I can embody my character.
It's actually the smaller the crowd where I'm like, damn,
am I doing this right? This is right? Like I
started second guessing. But the bigger the crowd, the more
I come alive. So a whole nother world. When you're
in the ring, there's one ring, but thousands and thousands
of people, I love it.
Is it overwhelming at all?
I mean obviously probably getting used to it now what
you're being a star, but like, is it ever get
overwhelming when you just walk out? Like wrestling that many
people in there are just all looking at you and
your theme music, and then you got a light balance
between like the crowd of music and then going action wrestle.
It can be, it can be, but I'm at a
point where it's kind of like you're gonna get what
you get. Like by the time my music hits or
I'm walking out, if I don't got it, it's like
you're done, Like you're done. So you just have to
have that mindset like you're gonna get what you get.
What's more overwhelming is to travel and like we're probably
home one to two days a week. When I was
a tag team champ, I worked Raw, SmackDown and NXT Solid.
Literally I traveled Thursdays, worked Fridays, came home Saturdays, left Sundays,
worked Monday, came home, Tuesday, was off, Wednesday, left Thursday.
And that was my schedule.

So that part is the taxing part. I wouldn't say
the overwhelming part is going out there. I think that's

Two days a week, and then you got your personal
life knows and balance, the family and everything else you
got going on.

My day, I get up, I stretch, I meditate because
me too, you have to meditate. As you get older,
you understand like your peace and silence means so much.
So I meditate, said, I stretch, I do some abs,
I lift a little, go to the ring, hit the
ropes a little bit, pray, get my makeup done, get fine,
and I'm ready to go.
That's it. Like how often do you lift five.
Days a week?

Traveling. It's a lot, but you do it tired.

know what kind of reaction I would give. They were like, oh,

or if they I just didn't know what type of
reaction because fans kill love you one day, nigga hate
you one day, then love you one day, and I
hate you one day. So I just I was like, okay,
well whatever I get, I'll just roll with it. I
come out there booming.
That's what I'll be for sure, roma too. But I
do want to ask, how do you balance that?
Because you have such a like you said, has such
crazy fan base, and you individually have a fan bases.
Sometimes those collides, sometimes they ain't on the same pace.
Does that affect you mentally wise?
Is obviously you're doing something that's in front of everybody,
and you probably hear some of these opinions even when
you don't want to.
It can get to you sometimes. But I listen to
people who have done what I've done and who wish
me well. So everybody else can kiss my ass because
they've never lived in my shoes a day of my life,
like they can probably can't even do a push up,
and so I could care less about how to go
aa so because if you let people creep into your mind,
it gets bigger. It's bigger, and you have your your
one person. Yeah, you're one person, and you have to
respect to love yourself and be gentle with yourself. You know,
it all comes like I feel like God would never
give you anything you can bear.
I agree, this is like a full circle moment for us,

What's one of your most memorable matches though.
Or favorite moments?
I don't know, you know, when I have questions that
I asked, like that we have so many PL's which
are pay per views, like back to back to back,
like we go to Paris in two weeks, even at WrestleMania,
or when I won the tag titles, or even right now,
I don't have time to really sit in it because
it's like off to the next and you're like focused
before you know it's here in your face and you're like, damn,
like Summer Slam is Saturday. WHOA, I don't have one yet.
Elimination for me, I okay.
I would say that because I was coming back from
an injury and I didn't know what I was coming back,
and so it took a lot. Because me being an athlete,
I've never been injured in my life and so I've
had like a bone bruise and I still played through
that or like you know, you play hurt whatever whatever,
but this was something that I had to sit out
and that was the first time, and that can mess
with you mentally. And that's when fans, when they came,
I was like, because it's nothing I can do. I
can't go out there and show you. I have to
just take it, take it, take it. And I couldn't
say anything. So it's just like that was taxing. But
elimination chamber, I would say, because I had a lot
to prove right then and there, and I was excited
to be back and it was kind of out of
the blue. I wasn't even in shape yet, but I
guess that the crowd reaction for that and our storyline, Yeah.
Storyline was fired.
