[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Forty-K-Lore cast. [SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to Forty-K-Lore cast with me, John Barsati and Brad Chester. [SPEAKER_00]: This guy. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, wish you could all see his wearing a robe right now because Brad's had a day. [SPEAKER_01]: And a night. [SPEAKER_00]: That's true. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, mostly the night. [SPEAKER_01]: To be honest. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: All right. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, today, we're jumping into who actually a realist might be the most famous space marine Demetrious Titus. [SPEAKER_00]: think about it. [SPEAKER_01]: I was debating on this because they, they're obviously the video games are very, very popular and they've get it out to a lot of people. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's now in the game and we'll talk about this at the end of the next cast. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, about he's leading the charge into the newest campaign. [SPEAKER_00]: Here's much logic though. [SPEAKER_00]: How many, so anyone who's played the video game knows who he is. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, easy. [SPEAKER_00]: Now the question is, of people who play the game of the table type and read the lore, how many of them don't know who he is. [SPEAKER_01]: That is true. [SPEAKER_00]: That's why I think he actually might be the most known character in the entire game. [SPEAKER_00]: Only because I think 80 plus percent of the player base of people who paint who just keep in track of the game are aware of him. [SPEAKER_00]: They may not play the game, but they're aware of him and everyone who play the game has him. [SPEAKER_00]: So I think that actually might push him up and over. [SPEAKER_01]: You might be true on this one. [SPEAKER_01]: It's hard to say that like people like Bobby G. Aren't more famous and are Calgar and all that, but now he's [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yes, yeah, we're wild. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, anyway, 40K Lorkas. [SPEAKER_00]: We clearly show on the Lord of the Warhammer 40K universe. [SPEAKER_00]: We're releasing every Monday at 7 p.m. Eastern. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you to everybody for your follows, your comments. [SPEAKER_00]: I actually did look worth. [SPEAKER_00]: We're almost... [SPEAKER_00]: 15 million downloads just on Spotify ever. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's a lot. [SPEAKER_00]: You like the cast. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to hear more of Brad and I click on the link to our YouTube page there. [SPEAKER_00]: We've got the old episodes of 40 heel or cast converted over doing a new thing with them. [SPEAKER_00]: We've got our live Q and A sessions, which, thank you everyone who came to the last one. [SPEAKER_00]: And we actually have our history of 40 K show and you're listening to us in 2026 death. [SPEAKER_00]: Click on it because you have the news shows coming out in 2026 TPD on them. [SPEAKER_00]: and dates and those things. [SPEAKER_00]: I've learned not to jump away ahead of us before it's ready because everything I have to like six cast later say. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, never mind guys. [SPEAKER_01]: But I feel like someone's getting the finger pointed at them for this one. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's someone could just stop going to the hospital every other week. [SPEAKER_00]: You can probably get more stuff done. [SPEAKER_01]: Don't tell me how to live my life. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, poor bread. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway. [SPEAKER_00]: All right. [SPEAKER_00]: So in the show notes, link to our Patreon obviously. [SPEAKER_00]: Massive. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_00]: Everyone who's already joined our Patreon. [SPEAKER_00]: It is how we're able to do a lot more stuff now. [SPEAKER_00]: getting more audio insurance in the project we have in 2026 do include a good amount of video. [SPEAKER_00]: That is because of the Patreon members allowing us to do that. [SPEAKER_00]: So huge thank you for your guys. [SPEAKER_00]: As always, our Patreon, we have one tier. [SPEAKER_00]: It's $4.99 and that gets you this show, plus the history of 40K, completely ad-free, or let's say, you know, you're like preserving life post-apocalypse and you're okay with the cold. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, then maybe [SPEAKER_00]: For only 50.45 Norwegian Krona, you can listen to us while maintaining the global seed vaultens. [SPEAKER_00]: It's volleyball. [SPEAKER_00]: We go to the volleyball. [SPEAKER_00]: So the seed's what's kind of a cool thing. [SPEAKER_00]: It stores most of the seeds, or most of the world's crops. [SPEAKER_00]: So if something dies, we get bring it back to my extension. [SPEAKER_00]: Or we could do the sci-fi thing and fire ourselves to another planet. [SPEAKER_00]: You colonize it. [SPEAKER_01]: But oil money is a hell of a drug. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but small barred also has other stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: This is what happens guys. [SPEAKER_00]: I look up a place and learn more. [SPEAKER_00]: So I was like, small barred. [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of cold there. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, holy deer, God, and a lot of cold. [SPEAKER_00]: But that's because they're 400 miles or 650 kilometers from the North Pole, which is not ideal. [SPEAKER_00]: And the whole island is built around mining and research. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's interestingly a really good place to work because the people there make 25% more than the people who live in mainland Norway. [SPEAKER_00]: Although, it's cold, like real cold. [SPEAKER_00]: And also fun fact, if you want to move there, just go ahead. [SPEAKER_00]: It is a visa for his own, so you can get there. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't even need a visa to move there. [SPEAKER_00]: But 99% of the housing is owned by the employers there, so you can move there without a visa. [SPEAKER_00]: But I'll be honest, when your 400 miles north pole, not a good place to be homeless. [SPEAKER_00]: probably not ideal. [SPEAKER_01]: Super fun in the summer, though, because it stays light so on. [SPEAKER_00]: It's still cold. [SPEAKER_00]: Also, weird thing, cats are real legal. [SPEAKER_00]: Don't know why, but cats are illegal. [SPEAKER_00]: And there's a limit on your alcohol consumption. [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm just going to learn about small barg this way. [SPEAKER_00]: It may be I'll watch a documentary on it for my house drinking wine. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I haven't been in Norway, but I've been to Sweden a bunch of times. [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't realize that there's no cats around. [SPEAKER_01]: This might be my new place to go. [SPEAKER_00]: Katzer and legal don't I'm allergic to one animal in the entire world you're oh really that's your only allergy of a creature's yeast is a creature bread [SPEAKER_01]: You know what? [SPEAKER_01]: I about this man must do shh. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you would be able to click an amphibian But it spreads around an axolotally breaks up in hives What will cause you death salamanders? [SPEAKER_00]: All the irony. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh the irony [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, for one of the little quips like this, jump into our discord, link in the notes. [SPEAKER_00]: You can come over there and to find more of randomly being Brad talking crap to each other and text form, but more importantly, join our discord because it really is an incredible place. [SPEAKER_00]: We've got so many wonderful channels and they're even really rocking and rolling reason with them. [SPEAKER_00]: The health channel, some of the cast channels, general memes, artwork, we even have like a occasional painting competitions. [SPEAKER_00]: jump in, join this thing. [SPEAKER_00]: It is so much fun. [SPEAKER_00]: We're now over 11,000 members and growing. [SPEAKER_00]: It's been a really fun time and I just cannot express enough how happy I'm to have you all there. [SPEAKER_01]: I had to roll my eyes on this because of one of the last cast. [SPEAKER_01]: I was like so excited. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, John, we're over 11,000. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, no, take a look at it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's actually 10,993 or whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, stop, stop jumping the gun. [SPEAKER_00]: This is the difference. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm tall, you're short. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't round up. [SPEAKER_00]: That's your whole, how tall are you? [SPEAKER_00]: Always round up. [SPEAKER_00]: Five, seven. [SPEAKER_00]: No, you're not. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, well, let's get to the actual cast. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, I'm so excited about this because of the fact that you are so much less of a casual reader of stuff of the books and stuff and more of a codex guy and everything. [SPEAKER_01]: And as soon as we were going to do this cast on Titus, I was so pumped just a, [SPEAKER_01]: think about your head starting to heat up and cooking egg on it, because Titus is everywhere. [SPEAKER_00]: This is so much work. [SPEAKER_00]: This was of all the cast we've done. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I have had to read, you know, tombs of things where it's fine. [SPEAKER_00]: The problem with the Demetrius Titus cast is the stuff is all over the place. [SPEAKER_01]: But it's what you got white dwarf, you've got multiple comics. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, two video games. [SPEAKER_01]: A, actually, that's a huge lie because Bulkon has them too. [SPEAKER_00]: So, well, very little in Bulkon, but he's a Pearson Bulkon. [SPEAKER_00]: Two video games. [SPEAKER_00]: You've also got random articles on more hammer community. [SPEAKER_00]: Like this, this way. [SPEAKER_01]: But in two different comic lines they had. [SPEAKER_01]: Have information on them too. [SPEAKER_01]: So, like, I was like, wow, that didn't make any of the tasks. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, let's say, John is going to be throwing out a pretty big nap on this one of hey, man, who's who says stuff about Titus? [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'll be honest. [SPEAKER_00]: I did not read the comic book because everything else I was able to consume. [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't read those. [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to call it out now. [SPEAKER_00]: I may get some of that stuff wrong. [SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, let's get into Dmitrius. [SPEAKER_00]: I keep going into Dmitrius because that's how that comes naturally, but Dmitrius. [SPEAKER_00]: My bad. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's get into Dmitrius. [SPEAKER_00]: Dmitrientitis did not exist at all until 2011, and then they made a console game called Space Marine, made by the now defunct THQ gaming company, they were the ones who made Dawn of War franchise, them in relic, relic with a subsidier of them. [SPEAKER_00]: They actually had great set of games in the 90s and early zeroes. [SPEAKER_00]: Really great games, stalker, dawn of war, metro, red faction, but they were run by kind of idiots who leaned into some of these games incorrectly. [SPEAKER_00]: At one point, they actually invested all their money and making a weak console addition that allowed you to write on it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It is funny because a lot of these games were pretty cool. [SPEAKER_00]: Like super cool. [SPEAKER_00]: Island. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but he ties doesn't exist. [SPEAKER_00]: They had a pretty good deal with Warhammer. [SPEAKER_00]: They'd been making this because they made the dawn of war games So they made their first first person shoot first posture, but it's kind of a first person third person shooter and they made space marine now [SPEAKER_00]: This creates a little bit of an issue which they, I give GW credit, they cleaned up really well. [SPEAKER_00]: But Titus doesn't come from GW directly, you're just like the blood ravens. [SPEAKER_00]: They were made up for the Dawn of War series. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's say the Dawn of War. [SPEAKER_00]: And so what happens is this game comes out, space marine one comes out. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not that big of a hit. [SPEAKER_00]: It's I played it because I'm a Warhammer nerd and I played it back in the day, but not a lot of people played it. [SPEAKER_00]: four, four, two, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, three, four, four [SPEAKER_00]: Now, Titus is the lead character in what's going to close up Tenth Edition. [SPEAKER_00]: So, he's had a bit of a glow up, so we're going to skip a bit. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's dive into him. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, Dmitrient Titus, he comes from no real significance, who's born to a poor family on an angry world known as Tarantus. [SPEAKER_00]: The world was in the Macrex sector and it provided food to the world's there. [SPEAKER_00]: Titus is discovered on a battlefield by Ultramarine recruiter, Mattaris. [SPEAKER_00]: He's the sergeant in the secret level. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, secret level. [SPEAKER_01]: Also, if you haven't seen secret level pause, go watch it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's one episode of secret level. [SPEAKER_00]: Nineteen. [SPEAKER_00]: And most of it's credits. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's actually like like a 13 minute and it's so good. [SPEAKER_01]: Also, the fact that even young tightness is, [SPEAKER_01]: has absolutely zero F's to give. [SPEAKER_01]: He's like, hey, I looked over my fields of F's. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And there was none to give the tightest rock to that thing. [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to cover that in the next cast, by the way, everybody. [SPEAKER_00]: We'll cover the secret level. [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of interesting pieces in that. [SPEAKER_00]: Meterus discovers him and the weird thing is there's no mention of why Titus is on a battle field holding a combat knife just that he is like what battle was it? [SPEAKER_00]: Hold it he's dragging it it's so much better. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's fair I but it is this element we're like what's going on here, but let's get that point [SPEAKER_00]: Titus joins the Ultramarines and he very quickly begins moving up, although not without drama. [SPEAKER_00]: Titus does have an issue early on. [SPEAKER_00]: They talk about this with a lot of rage. [SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't care much for heretic. [SPEAKER_01]: I know they call it rage, and it is some rage, but I really feel that he just has no inner monologous. [SPEAKER_00]: When something's dumb, he just gives no- Well, yeah, and the rage is not as like blind uncontrolled chaos style, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Just more like secarius, Sigismund, a lot of these warriors, they get pissed off, and what's [SPEAKER_00]: He makes, he makes Terminator armor sprint. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: The thing is tight is does a bunch of stuff that is unbelievably heroic. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, technically, especially the Ultramarines who are all about following the tactics and the rules. [SPEAKER_01]: He's Yolo Swaggings, quite a bit. [SPEAKER_01]: He puts on his boots and mighty ass kicking and does three backflips and does the super hero landing, but Deadpool waiting for it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: all the time. [SPEAKER_00]: And the main thing about him though is whenever they talk about character having all these rage issues, I think a good one is Kate Ocecarious and similar to this, he will always come out ahead. [SPEAKER_00]: Now there may be collateral damage, perhaps they could have had less deaths, heavy air quotes there if they're differently, but he is always victorious. [SPEAKER_00]: Titus story is his first major note of success as his squad was fighting at Chaos Warband. [SPEAKER_00]: Their part, this is the back when he's part of 10th company, and he and his squad are engaging a warband. [SPEAKER_00]: So for those who don't know, 10th company is where all the ultramarines start. [SPEAKER_00]: So you come out of your neophyte, actually even as a neophyte, you'll be in 10th company, and even just after getting your full Gency transplantation, you're in the 10th company. [SPEAKER_00]: which is all kind of trial by fire. [SPEAKER_00]: Full fledged space marines, and Neo fights, plus a contingent of veterans, obviously. [SPEAKER_00]: And they're kind of working like first striking opponents. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is a lightable, come out of the 10th company, everyone comes out of 10th company. [SPEAKER_00]: But the people who really show off in 10th company are on the management fast track of the ultra marines. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what, I want to go off a little bit on, I'm going to get on a Brad soapbox to start because we're going to talk about something that's going to plague and plague. [SPEAKER_01]: I say that it does plague, Titus. [SPEAKER_01]: This entire career here, which is his first incursion, they go against the chaos. [SPEAKER_01]: Everybody gets smoked, a cast, sorceress, killing everybody. [SPEAKER_01]: Titus is, [SPEAKER_01]: horribly hit up, but he kills the cast sorcerer. [SPEAKER_01]: So low, basically. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And instead of, hey, man, that was awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: You're so brave. [SPEAKER_01]: You pulled victory from the jaws of defeat. [SPEAKER_01]: Instead, everybody's like, hey, man, why were you able to survive the psychic attacks? [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, man, you're like, [SPEAKER_01]: Like, hey man, I've never done anything heretical. [SPEAKER_01]: I've only been a hero, stop asking, why are you so mad that I didn't get murdered by a sorcerer? [SPEAKER_01]: And he does, and this happens time and time again. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, we're going to get into a big unswastery. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not interesting. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, hey, man, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, hey, I just saved this old lady. [SPEAKER_00]: We ain't hit by a car. [SPEAKER_00]: You must have been secretly driving the car. [SPEAKER_01]: And then like, hey, how did you survive? [SPEAKER_01]: You're like, not thanks for saving the day, just like, why are you still in existence? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: That just bugs me because he's like, I like his hero style that Titus has. [SPEAKER_01]: He's not overly ridiculous. [SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, I like my recklessness and the fact that all this baseball stuff like that. [SPEAKER_01]: But I like the heroic that he does and it leads to a video game style, which is obviously where he is. [SPEAKER_01]: He's a video game character, but he goes in and saves the day and each time, even in the missions, [SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no [SPEAKER_00]: I've been going like a 20 minute ranally honest pretty soon here, but let's dive into the whole thing with Titus and his resistance to chaos so no one really understands what's going on and I will see the explain this pretty well in one of the great night novels and talks about how all psychors manifest their powers differently. [SPEAKER_00]: And the idea is that there's almost an infinite style of psychic powers out there, so you board telekinetics, some have mind control, others can damage people, heal people, confuse people, even effect machinery, right? [SPEAKER_01]: And hold on, let's not give the one that's one of the biggest is some people are powerful psychers that don't even have psychics. [SPEAKER_01]: They're just resistant to psychic attempts to either damage them or corrupt and overpower their will. [SPEAKER_00]: exactly and this is why back in earlier editions of the game those who've been playing the game on table up for them, you said they're role for your second powers and there was a lot of them there was a lot of ways of playing the game. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a better system, I'm just a problem you I did randomness and people would cheat, so let's just move on with our day. [SPEAKER_00]: It's true, by the way. [SPEAKER_00]: So, in the case of Imperial Psychers, Space Marine Psychers, Chaos, others, they'll train their powers and they take whatever ability they have natively and either increase it or use it as a bridge to other powers, so in effect, if you're a psycher, you can pull from the warp, but it doesn't mean you can all pull from the warp the same way. [SPEAKER_00]: And the reason I'm bringing this up here is that no one really fully understands this. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not a science. [SPEAKER_00]: And so this is why people, like, like, I know and can measure the meta-clorians. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [UNKNOWN]: And so. [SPEAKER_00]: What happens is because of that no one understands it. [SPEAKER_00]: So what Titus' abilities, whatever's going on with him, he can't explain it. [SPEAKER_00]: The example I would use is, it'd be like if someone had gills and tried to explain it what it's like breathing through gills. [SPEAKER_00]: I can't understand that. [SPEAKER_00]: I just can't not. [SPEAKER_00]: You can tell me I'm underwater and I'm not drowning. [SPEAKER_00]: That part I understand, but that's about it. [SPEAKER_00]: So in the case of Titus and some of these powers, Titus probably knows or has a feeling when chaos is trying to do something to him. [SPEAKER_00]: but he's able to resist it, but it's just kind of like a feeling in the back of his brain. [SPEAKER_00]: That's about it. [SPEAKER_00]: He can't explain it to somebody. [SPEAKER_00]: And as a result, he gets into problems. [SPEAKER_00]: As Brad was saying, except for the librarians, none of the other studies understand psychic powers. [SPEAKER_00]: And hell, even the librarians, or the auto-malious, don't even understand the true root of psychic power. [SPEAKER_01]: And also, that's one of the biggest things about psychic powers is depending on what branch, what chapter you're in, certain psychic powers are looked on favorably. [SPEAKER_01]: Others are not, even though they're both just psychic powers. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And even in ever since the great crusades, I think powers have been overwhelmingly associated with bad things. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, with the exception of navigators at your path to kill the fields. [SPEAKER_01]: But that's why there's a reason in game, it's one of the things that I really like that translates from lore to the table top a lot is certain chapters use certain powers because they collect people that have those powers and they, but they trust those powers and they gazedly grab them. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think the thing I wanted to focus on is that if you're a space Marine, for example, you want to start it? [SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to remember that, hey, all the navigators are psychers. [SPEAKER_00]: All the astrapass sending messages are psychers. [SPEAKER_00]: You'll believe in what you're going to remember is when you went to battle against the bunch of psychers, and you're two of your brothers heads got blown off by a lightning bolt. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's your viewpoint of powers. [SPEAKER_00]: And so this is why there's a lot of mistrust of psychers in anyone around the psychic powers. [SPEAKER_00]: So in the case of Titus, it's a little bit goofier, because he can resist psychic powers. [SPEAKER_00]: And so they assume this is not what he treats me crazy, but I'm just trying to adjust. [SPEAKER_01]: I get it a little bit, but it's the thing of this is the guy that's able to go against the things that are killing your brothers. [SPEAKER_01]: Why wouldn't you be embracing the crap out of him, you know, I mean, and they kind of do to be honest with you, he's pretty popular amongst others. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's how it goes. [SPEAKER_00]: He adds and he flows. [SPEAKER_00]: The irony is, and we'll get to in the next cast. [SPEAKER_00]: Some of them are modern people like him a lot, but whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, let's get on to the first tyrannic war. [SPEAKER_00]: The first tyrannic war is when high-fleet behemoth hit McCregg and hit McCregg, the ultramain survived, but hit it hard. [SPEAKER_01]: I was a quick pause if you're looking for a cool fleet. [SPEAKER_01]: Behemoth's cool because I like big creatures and they're recalled Behemoth for a reason. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: We'll bring creatures. [SPEAKER_00]: Fine. [SPEAKER_00]: after Titus recovers from his wounds. [SPEAKER_00]: There isn't a ramp that's worse. [SPEAKER_00]: Titus recovers from his wounds fighting the chaos sorcerer, and he's promoted. [SPEAKER_00]: And he spends next 50 years or so fighting with his brothers in numerous engagements for the Ultramarines. [SPEAKER_00]: He leaves the 10th company and joins the second. [SPEAKER_00]: The second are known as the Avengers of Ultramar, or it's like the call them the plot armor of the spacemaries. [SPEAKER_00]: Because double plot armor, because the Ultramarine plot armor. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, nobody's plot armor is thicker than Ultramarine plot armor. [SPEAKER_00]: Secreria, steel, agmonon, via torque. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, tightest, these guys are all second. [SPEAKER_00]: Nobody, a lot of the engagements are a second company. [SPEAKER_00]: Unfortunately for tightest, when high-fleet behemoth is bearing down on McCregg, the second company were elsewhere. [SPEAKER_00]: And while they were rushing back, the shadow of the warp slowed them down and made it almost impossible for them to get there. [SPEAKER_00]: So the second company didn't arrive until the end of... [SPEAKER_00]: the, you know, first-terratic war, but Titus' story is now just starting to begin because while they missed the fighting, they did arrive for what you would call the cleanup. [SPEAKER_00]: Because when you have a terned invasion, you, if you take out like the high fleet, that's fine. [SPEAKER_00]: You saw tyrannids everywhere. [SPEAKER_00]: You saw everywhere. [SPEAKER_00]: You saw everywhere. [SPEAKER_00]: So you have to go through it. [SPEAKER_01]: They do a great job of this. [SPEAKER_01]: I love this because of the, also this is a good job of inserting Titus. [SPEAKER_01]: in the after effects is there's a huge amount of writing that was already done about the first tyrannic war yeah you're adding a new character and i like where they put in post that we got to rep condiment well it is not square yeah hold they found it oh don't they didn't really love it and they found every gap in the story of tightness can go down [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly, but I love this because they're not, they've done this from the past where they just kind of just put a painting of They just look the Ricky Bobby They just put the his picture over his picture go. [SPEAKER_01]: Titus was there alone. [SPEAKER_01]: They now they get a great job [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And so we both don't this for a long time. [SPEAKER_01]: I did not know that it's not know this. [SPEAKER_01]: It's completely surprised to me. [SPEAKER_01]: But I know, but I have to get props. [SPEAKER_01]: They shit all over. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sometimes we will a little bit later. [SPEAKER_01]: But I think they did a great job of this in in serving him in places that you can insert and perfectly. [SPEAKER_01]: And he does a bunch of counter strikes and he becomes excellent at [SPEAKER_00]: Well, he shows something. [SPEAKER_00]: This is a key thing. [SPEAKER_00]: What he shows in this time is an ability to learn and adapt from his enemies in combat. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is why we're playing Space Marine 2, which I think most of our listeners have played, they're listening to this. [SPEAKER_00]: That thing where he can counter strike people, as they come in, the little radical comes in, you have to hit whichever, whatever you're playing an XBQ, I don't care where your controller is. [SPEAKER_00]: But whichever one it is, that's tight as his special ability, just like in the last of us, Joel's special ability was listening. [SPEAKER_00]: Not them. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it sucks. [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't listen too long in last of us too. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I love it. [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't say people like, wait, his superpower was listening, like, like, yeah, empathy, know the inverse. [SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, so it tightness is really good at killing tyrannids, however. [SPEAKER_00]: The first tyrannic war is rough for the Ultra Marines. [SPEAKER_00]: They lose a ton of people, including the entire first company. [SPEAKER_00]: All gone. [SPEAKER_01]: So, Agma and us, who's the... Let's talk about the first company. [SPEAKER_01]: The first company is veterans, mostly in Terminator armor. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're kind of important. [SPEAKER_01]: You lost the most senior, most experienced, most decorated of your chapter. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so what happens is they take the capital of the second who's Agman Agam. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's it's I always want to say Agam. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not, but it's not it's just what I say if you make me say that I'm 100% saying Agam. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Agam. [SPEAKER_00]: It's an A a G and E to M's an A than an N. It's not easy. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm assuming they won most of these wars by just putting it with that course. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we go with Tim, his name was Tim. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, so Tim leaves the captain who are the second. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's always going to be, come on now. [SPEAKER_01]: It's got to be Ted. [SPEAKER_00]: Ted, it's basement now. [SPEAKER_00]: Ted's the Ray's basement. [SPEAKER_00]: This is Ultramarine. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that is Ultramarine's got to blow up. [SPEAKER_00]: They got to blow up. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you should think of Mike, Ted is the most random of space reads. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I love it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they should have, they've earned two syllables. [SPEAKER_00]: They're the ultramarines. [SPEAKER_00]: So after Agama moves up to first company, then his second named Treason, different Treason, is promoted capital of second company. [SPEAKER_00]: Titus had been serving her Treason for a while and is promoted by a Treason to the sergeant of Treason's command squad. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is a lot of like, well, effectively, [SPEAKER_00]: Titus is the head of the guys who were always right next to the captain, the second company. [SPEAKER_00]: So where the second company goes, Titus goes. [SPEAKER_00]: 100 years go by now and Trajan Titus and the second can be fight campaign after campaign Xenos, Heretics, Traders, whatever, no problems until the Eldari show up. [SPEAKER_01]: A specific Eldari also because they didn't just meet the Uthway and had some pleasant conversations. [SPEAKER_00]: No, they met the best ending. [SPEAKER_00]: We both, let's not defend them. [SPEAKER_00]: they're bad. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not trying to defend. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying if you're talking about who's bad people, Bill Tan think that all not elder should be snuffed. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is so, this is my whole thing. [SPEAKER_00]: This story is funny. [SPEAKER_00]: So the world is called data, actorus, and it comes under a salt from the Bill Tan. [SPEAKER_00]: And by a salt, [SPEAKER_00]: All right, real quick, BL 10. [SPEAKER_00]: Reds point just now. [SPEAKER_00]: The BL 10 are the the looniest of the Eldar. [SPEAKER_00]: They believe that not only are the Eldar, they're rightful rulers of the galaxy, but that any day now, the Eldar going to defeat Slonash and take it back over. [SPEAKER_00]: So in between, we don't want you guys touching my stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of how they've used stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: And a bunch of aspect shrines to make sure that doesn't happen. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: So when ends up happening is this elder fleet appears above Badec Torres, which apparently used to be a chrome world, and tells a planetary governor he's got to leave. [SPEAKER_00]: Again, this planet has been, I mean, hundred years, thousand years of human occupation, the built-in just got there. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's also talk about he shows up they go, hey, man, you guys got to go like when noon. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I just got here. [SPEAKER_01]: It's six in the morning. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, cool. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they gave them six hours to leave the planet distress call come out. [SPEAKER_00]: Needless to say it by the ultramarines show up plants on fire. [SPEAKER_00]: Ultramarines get their big space battle happens. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, I will say BL10 grossly underestimated, what they should be doing here. [SPEAKER_00]: They were really well prepared to attack a planetary defense force. [SPEAKER_00]: They were not ready for a second company. [SPEAKER_00]: So, saying how it comes in, wrecks them in space, just demolish them in space, then deploys down to the planet. [SPEAKER_00]: They get down there, and they make actually pretty quick work of it. [SPEAKER_00]: They use between thunderhawks and drop pods. [SPEAKER_00]: They start just running over the Eldar pretty quickly. [SPEAKER_00]: And there, while they are at the head of the second company, hunts down the altar, leading the assault, and kills it. [SPEAKER_00]: And [SPEAKER_00]: single combat, which by the way, like that's not easy to do. [SPEAKER_00]: You're talking about and telling an altar, I know in the game it's easy, but he kills the altar. [SPEAKER_00]: At the same time, Titus is his crew are like making space for this fight to happen. [SPEAKER_00]: So they take on the aspect warriors, Titus kills three of them. [SPEAKER_00]: which it's just to get people to say and we talk a lot about lore versus tabletop. [SPEAKER_00]: In the lore killing a single aspect warrior as a space marine isn't achievement. [SPEAKER_00]: Titus killed three of them. [SPEAKER_00]: So I was bored and I decided to look it up. [SPEAKER_00]: What happens if a stern guard vet went into aspect warriors? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he would kill three every single time. [SPEAKER_00]: Six attacks, rerolling, so five hits, four wounds, three dead. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, fun story, that how the tabletop just disappoints us sometimes. [SPEAKER_00]: after killing the awtark and their bodyguard, the elder retreated. [SPEAKER_00]: But as they retreated, they captured the younger stardes named Leandroes, different one. [SPEAKER_00]: I looked it up. [SPEAKER_01]: I was just, I doubt, because if it was that Leandroes, I would have been like, I hope they take, they give them to the dark elder for a turkey sandwich. [SPEAKER_00]: this is viewed as such a cowardly act and they're not going to sacrifice the battle brother that Trasian and his crew pursue the fleeing Eldar into a trash or drop yeah the BL10 this story doesn't make any sense they're getting their their butts warped [SPEAKER_00]: and but upon they hadn't committed all of their forces. [SPEAKER_00]: I think their idea was will lure the leader of the ultramarines in and kill him and then they'll all just fall apart. [SPEAKER_00]: Which the first part does happen. [SPEAKER_00]: They lure them in and Trasian comes running after them and all of a sudden warp spiders. [SPEAKER_00]: And so Trasian's very dead. [SPEAKER_01]: Except for the fact that apparently Titus has taken multiple levels in Barbarian. [SPEAKER_01]: So he decides to click the rage button. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it gets pretty mad. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Titus then and his command squad slaughter all of the Eldar nearby. [SPEAKER_00]: Grabed Tracy's dead body along with Leandro's kid takes him back. [SPEAKER_00]: They route the Eldar and they leave the sector. [SPEAKER_00]: they then take Tratian's body back to McCregn. [SPEAKER_00]: Upon return to McCregn with the dead body of Tratian, Calgar himself promotes Titus to Captain. [SPEAKER_01]: At the time, which is a huge deal because Calgar is the [SPEAKER_00]: It's not a big deal, but they make it out of the big deal, Calgar himself promoted him. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry, there's only 10 captains. [SPEAKER_00]: And you get a new captain every like 100 years. [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, who else is doing it other than Calgar? [SPEAKER_01]: You think it, but by the way, I think that most are captain. [SPEAKER_01]: I think that this is one of the few times that someone actually got officially promoted, because it feels like most Captain upgrades are because Captain Tad, how are things going? [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he'd always say head, Captain Tim, how are things going? [SPEAKER_00]: But eventually, they always make it eventually official. [SPEAKER_00]: My point is that it's always done by the chapter master. [SPEAKER_00]: So they make it just the finding where I load it. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, oh, wow, god. [SPEAKER_00]: Calguard ported him himself. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, who else was going to do it? [SPEAKER_00]: What's going to be an email? [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway. [SPEAKER_00]: So let's get to the events of space marine one now, which is not a very good game. [SPEAKER_00]: It's fine. [SPEAKER_00]: It's fine, but it's not great. [SPEAKER_00]: That's how I would describe it. [SPEAKER_00]: So let's get to it. [SPEAKER_00]: will be right back after a quick break. [SPEAKER_00]: The world of Grya, Grya sits in the segmentum contestus, which is the bottom part of the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: And thank you meant to say Southern part? [SPEAKER_00]: No, it's the bottom. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, you're saying, I do love that. [SPEAKER_01]: That's how they refer to it, by the way. [SPEAKER_00]: It is the southern part. [SPEAKER_00]: It's the bottom. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, around... [SPEAKER_00]: 900 or so them 41. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's like the early this lower is set in the earlier part of modern 40k. [SPEAKER_00]: So Katie hasn't fallen yet, which is matters because they're not right before, but [SPEAKER_00]: 99 years before, I think Katie falls in 99, so this is 900, so. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, he's to sleep for 200. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just figuring out the timeline. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the timeline, not that crystal clear. [SPEAKER_00]: It's closeish. [SPEAKER_00]: But around that time, it makes another one. [SPEAKER_00]: An ork wa hits the system. [SPEAKER_00]: Grins go. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Warbaugh scrim skull who all the animations on him are rough. [SPEAKER_00]: They appear without attacking the planet. [SPEAKER_00]: Graia was a manufacturing world for the Imperium, so they really couldn't let it fall to the Orcs. [SPEAKER_00]: There is a Canadian regiment there, the KDM 203rd, and because they actually weren't there, they were in route to another world, got the call and pivoted and went there. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm going to give props to the Cadients, cause Cadients have always, Cadients stands. [SPEAKER_01]: Cadients have always been the guys that get sent to all the bad things, but man, they get sent with the worst intel all the time. [SPEAKER_01]: They get sent over to this park. [SPEAKER_00]: Has our park a creek? [SPEAKER_00]: Sure. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, yeah, the name, the regiment or the regiment role, we're like, oh, yes, we don't want it. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what? [SPEAKER_01]: I want to have it in this card guys. [SPEAKER_01]: Go in and tell me who gets the worst assignments. [SPEAKER_00]: Because Talleron, Kedia, and because it's usually creed the creed chooses. [SPEAKER_00]: Look, that's the problem. [SPEAKER_00]: That is true. [SPEAKER_00]: We can't count. [SPEAKER_00]: No, it's just, what's going on there? [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, the entire world's on fire. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what sounds interesting. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you all. [SPEAKER_01]: Going back over space for me, one in the story of it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just, they just show up. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's why they were told, it's, hey, John, Brad, can you help me out? [SPEAKER_01]: There's some guys roughing up my grocery store. [SPEAKER_01]: And we show up and they're just like an army there. [SPEAKER_01]: You're like, hey, man, John and I showed up with brass knuckles. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're ready for what's the Jackie Chan movie where he's bring the grosser, like we're ready for that one, not war of the worlds. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and they show up and not to make their plate name, but they just get incorrect. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because going well. [SPEAKER_00]: But, yeah, but there's good news because they weren't the only ones to hear it. [SPEAKER_00]: Luckily, they had the most noble of all this space-screen factions also heard the call, and the ultramarines were on their way. [SPEAKER_00]: The most noble. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to keep you up this forever. [SPEAKER_01]: I know. [SPEAKER_01]: It is funny because the orcs did do cunning but brutal tactics, because they took over the orbital defense platforms. [SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was fantastic. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so what happens is, [SPEAKER_00]: The space brings show up and for the game, just three of them. [SPEAKER_00]: So you've got, what's your just two of them? [SPEAKER_00]: Rich, you got the latest, right? [SPEAKER_00]: So it's tightest, Leandro's, and Sidonus. [SPEAKER_01]: Ooh, oh, sorry. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm also, I'm gonna boon because, you know, how they show up, they jump down and do an orbital onto the orbital platforms. [SPEAKER_01]: And Leandro's, and he complains the entire time while he's reading the rules. [SPEAKER_01]: You're not supposed to do this. [SPEAKER_01]: I, man, I wish I could get shot in the head. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, so I'm a big fan, yes, anyway, they pushed through the orcs and they meet the local inquisitor named Drogon. [SPEAKER_00]: Drogon is there directing the forces of the Imperium and their defense against the Reconvasion. [SPEAKER_00]: And he informs Titus and his retinue, which I, where they freaking hate now, that he been on graya, working on a special weapon called the psychic scourge. [SPEAKER_00]: And this weapon was behind enemy lines now because where else would it be? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and if Titus, I mean, seriously, like why do they move the weapons you care about? [SPEAKER_00]: And also, by the way, if the story I'm telling you guys, you're saying, hey, John, I thought you said space marine one. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Unfortunately, you're going to see a lot of parallels. [SPEAKER_00]: So Titus and the crew have to go and find the special weapons. [SPEAKER_01]: Not set this up correct, my friend, because when you play the game and you watch, you show up, and this guy is clearly up to something. [SPEAKER_01]: He's doing everything, but comically, [SPEAKER_00]: Throw, throw guns, you're unique. [SPEAKER_00]: So what happens with what happened with throw gun is, but he tells them, if you guys just go behind enemy lines and get this great weapon, you can activate the psychic scourge and then it will cure us of this invasion. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it also has, it's so vague about what it's gonna do. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's gonna do something good, maybe. [SPEAKER_01]: Just, just activate it, no worry about it. [SPEAKER_01]: Stop asking all these tough questions. [SPEAKER_00]: Titus crew, they fight their way there, they act through the psychic scourge, and discover pretty quickly they've been deceived because the truth is Oh, no! [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Drogan had been corrupted by the forces of chaos, which tapped a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they just corrupted. [SPEAKER_00]: over taking a while was even possessed by a chaos sorcerer. [SPEAKER_00]: And as soon as they activate this psychic scourge, it does not scourge any psychic. [SPEAKER_00]: It becomes a psychic scourge because the sky opens and a work portal appears and the chosen of Nemaroth pour into a grave. [SPEAKER_01]: Nemaroth is a chaos sorcerer who had taken over for him. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, then they'd taken this like a scourge with them. [SPEAKER_00]: Titus then grabbed this like a scourge and starts moving backwards to try and get to a defensive position, but they're being pursued by the chaos source or a Nemroth. [SPEAKER_00]: And eventually, they're cornered by him and his forces. [SPEAKER_00]: And as Nemroth's about to kill them, Warbaugh's grim skull arrives because he won't be right. [SPEAKER_00]: He can't see. [SPEAKER_00]: Which I like. [SPEAKER_00]: He comes running in because he wanted this sparky thing that Titus had. [SPEAKER_01]: That is true. [SPEAKER_00]: He does call it that, that's barking again. [SPEAKER_00]: And then they have a battle. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a really fun part of the game, actually. [SPEAKER_00]: Resulting almost a Duke Nukem level finish. [SPEAKER_00]: It's that part with fun. [SPEAKER_00]: Because after getting bested, Grimsko looks at Titus and says, I ain't done with you, you me. [SPEAKER_00]: The band has lined, dude. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: I Titus looks at me, but I'm done with you and shoot him in the head. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's a cool scene. [SPEAKER_00]: So, Titus, then, and his crew, they get back to the mustering point, and they have to work towards the next step. [SPEAKER_00]: And they really, is the truth behind everything. [SPEAKER_00]: This is when they discover. [SPEAKER_00]: Drogon had died before the invasion, or it possessed by a demon. [SPEAKER_00]: And by Neymaroth. [SPEAKER_00]: And the sorcerer was looking to a send to demon princehood by using this psychic scourge to do it. [SPEAKER_00]: And his plans, I'll just put enough warp energy into me, and I'll become a super-siker. [SPEAKER_00]: I wonder if that ever happens in any other space marine games. [SPEAKER_01]: So, also, there's no way I'm letting this go without saying that they weakened it Bernie stemmed. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh 100%. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So while this is all going on though, a very large fleet of the Imperium arrives in orbit, you have Ultraman's now blood angels are joining the fight. [SPEAKER_00]: Cause truth is, Orcs are one thing, but a chaos and coercion is totally different. [SPEAKER_00]: So this built the Imperium will throw a lot more at that. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, I'm getting out of a brand so box again, because these things happen quite a bit where you're like, pressed, you've lost friends, your brothers are dying. [SPEAKER_01]: And then, [SPEAKER_01]: Chaos or whatever their concern to bot shows up and then all of a sudden all these forces are actually free to come help you And you're like oh yeah, we had time man. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like what what was going on before you guys having a uker turn of it You're like oh, you're a wall. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I had some stuff to do you're like what were you doing? [SPEAKER_01]: I was binge watching new girl exactly like what what was going on here, man? [SPEAKER_00]: I Anyway, some not a little writing is great [SPEAKER_00]: Problem that Titus notes is the portal to chaos is growing rapidly. [SPEAKER_00]: And Titus realizes if he doesn't do something, there's going to be a massive chaos invasion, maybe too much for the fleet in orbit to deal with. [SPEAKER_00]: So he has a plan. [SPEAKER_00]: And his plan is what if we shoot the portal with the thing that made it, though? [SPEAKER_00]: So he and his crew decide to fight all the way to the Titan. [SPEAKER_00]: and then use the Titan that's also on the previous shoot. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, oh, please. [SPEAKER_01]: We should probably rewind to the fact that, oh, yeah, we skipped the part where there was a Titan. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, sorry guys. [SPEAKER_00]: So the one problem when I rang these notes is, I played this game back in like 2012, right? [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't play at release by October 2012. [SPEAKER_00]: And so I was like, you know what, we're going to cast on Titan on this. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go play it again. [SPEAKER_00]: And then steam wanted $50 from going to do that. [SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, yeah, we're not doing that. [SPEAKER_00]: So I watched some of you do videos. [SPEAKER_00]: And I read some things that jog my memories with possible some of my I'm going to get all the facts right on the unspaced Marine one, but my order of operation may get messed up a little bit just because I didn't want to buy a game I didn't actually like that much the first place to play it again. [SPEAKER_01]: So sorry to advance also this part of the game is really really cool because you go through some cool battles though to get to the psychic search. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and the animation even for back then is pretty cool though when he shoots the portal [SPEAKER_00]: I've got a weird thing like I can I love like late 80s animation 90s. [SPEAKER_00]: There's something about like that 2005 to 2015 that just bothers me. [SPEAKER_00]: I think because it just looks like a crappy version of what we have now. [SPEAKER_00]: But I'm impressed. [SPEAKER_00]: I digress. [SPEAKER_00]: Titus succeeds. [SPEAKER_00]: He plugs a psychic scourging to the Titan and shoots its big gun with this warp thing inside of it at the chaos portal and it works. [SPEAKER_00]: It mess up the portal really bad slowing down the flow of [SPEAKER_00]: but this kind of pisses off Nemuroff who attacks and with the portal weakened, Titus calls in for an event. [SPEAKER_00]: His plan is, okay, Nemuroff is coming after us. [SPEAKER_00]: We got to get out of here before the bad guy gets us. [SPEAKER_00]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: I know I've been out of my soapbox a lot today, but it makes me almost six feet tall if I stand on a big box. [SPEAKER_00]: So, you couldn't climb. [SPEAKER_00]: You couldn't go on top of the box with me here six feet tall bread. [SPEAKER_01]: Today I could not. [SPEAKER_00]: I could. [SPEAKER_00]: Today's not a good thing. [SPEAKER_01]: But, this is so. [SPEAKER_01]: I actually don't even think this is a bad ready. [SPEAKER_01]: I just think it's funny. [SPEAKER_01]: Because they're escaping. [SPEAKER_01]: In the game, you're making your way. [SPEAKER_01]: You're fighting and you're running away. [SPEAKER_01]: You're trying to get to your own back point. [SPEAKER_01]: And you've got the psychic scourge. [SPEAKER_01]: And out of nowhere, Titus goes, hey, Sedonus, hold this for me. [SPEAKER_00]: He said you're a tight spot. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm so angry at the entire time. [SPEAKER_00]: Hold on. [SPEAKER_00]: It all thing goes, hey, red shirt. [SPEAKER_00]: Put hold this for me and run that way. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's a bonus. [SPEAKER_01]: In my mind, Sedona should have been, Oh, come on, man. [SPEAKER_01]: I thought we were friends, and yeah, so not cool dude, and now he instantly gets killed. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, so don't just runs, what is he doing? [SPEAKER_00]: He runs all the way to the platform, and as the Thunderhawk is coming down, Neymaroth teleports in and kills him taking the weapon and fleeing. [SPEAKER_00]: So now we have a problem. [SPEAKER_01]: I just love everything about me. [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, man, he's just like, ah, come on, dude. [SPEAKER_01]: I noticed that your name's a little bit higher on the character list. [SPEAKER_01]: And you just gave me the main plot item. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm totally dead. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, it galaxy quest with a serializes that his name's a guy. [SPEAKER_00]: Man, there's some guy who gave me a real lines. [SPEAKER_00]: People like you, guy. [SPEAKER_00]: So now Titus is a problem. [SPEAKER_00]: The big bad guy has the big bad weapon. [SPEAKER_00]: So Titus has to go get it. [SPEAKER_00]: And he orders Leandroes to stay with a dying Sedonus because I guess they want to put the gene seed. [SPEAKER_00]: And he's going after Nemo Roth's solo. [SPEAKER_01]: And the Andros, it goes, hey, man, what are my possible dialogue options? [SPEAKER_01]: Wine terribly. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I've been assuming that it was A, B, C, and D, and all of them said, B, super whiny and bitch. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So Leandro's disagrees with this. [SPEAKER_00]: He tells us that this is certain death or more likely a trap. [SPEAKER_00]: And this has been the entire, we haven't really covered Leandro's very much. [SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to jump into him now. [SPEAKER_00]: So throughout the entire campaign, [SPEAKER_00]: Titus keeps showing these like uncanny resistance to work powers. [SPEAKER_00]: Others are getting wrecked by the warp and Titus is just able to fight on. [SPEAKER_00]: And Lee Andrews. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's also breaking. [SPEAKER_01]: He's technically also breaking the rules quite a bit. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but he's breaking the rules in. [SPEAKER_01]: He's Jay walking a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: He's not doing exactly the letter. [SPEAKER_00]: And what happens is, Leandro's just starts getting more and more upset, watching Titus do these things. [SPEAKER_00]: And he eventually tells Titus, Nemrowth is trying to lure you into a trap to capture you for some unknown agenda. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, because, hey, the fleets here anyway, let's look them just blow this guy up. [SPEAKER_00]: And Titus gives him a solid thumbs up, your right, and then leaves and does this thing anyway. [SPEAKER_00]: So when the happening while Titus goes on his little hero quest is Leandro's becomes the bad guy. [SPEAKER_00]: He contacts the inquisition and tells him that he suspects Titus of heresy. [SPEAKER_01]: He rattles on him and also makes stuff up. [SPEAKER_01]: He has zero. [SPEAKER_01]: This is what I told you earlier. [SPEAKER_01]: Why I just hate Leandro so much. [SPEAKER_01]: He has zero reason. [SPEAKER_00]: This is why I have to fucking ask with you because he's erupted. [SPEAKER_00]: This is all pretend and you genuinely get upset. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm so mad right now because he's just too ain't nothing but heroics. [SPEAKER_01]: He's saving his brothers over and over again. [SPEAKER_01]: Land just like he's probably corrupted. [SPEAKER_01]: Any do you have any evidence whatsoever to even think this? [SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely no you realize how many times that princess got captured by Bowser was he just bothering you every level as you're You do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do a tube going I don't go save her again Brad's on super Mario's like what what do we have to Mario world? [SPEAKER_00]: What we're up to as it Mario's just still playing just getting mad [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, not real people. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, side note about Leandroes. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, the whole reason Leandroes is kind of this not great character is because he's a stuck in the mud space Marine. [SPEAKER_00]: He spends the entire game complaining about what is the correct in the galaxy. [SPEAKER_00]: I will defend him and that I think Leandroes, he was poorly written candidly, but I think what he was meant to be was to represent the kind of your average space Marine. [SPEAKER_00]: Who doesn't really understand what's going on in the galaxy? [SPEAKER_01]: They want, he does get quoting the codex to Starty's, which is annoying. [SPEAKER_00]: You're supposed to do what happens is Titus grabs a Thunderhawk and goes head first in the number off, who is in the middle of converting himself into a demon prince, which Titus called out, well, he's actually at his weakest while being converted into a pseudo god of chaos, which doesn't make a ton of sense, but that's unimportant. [SPEAKER_00]: They have a big fight, Titus wins. [SPEAKER_00]: After the battle, Titus comes out all victorious, the, I think she's a lieutenant, whatever the head of the Cadian is there giving a local congratulations, and then a Valkyrie lands and out of the Valkyrie walks an inquisitor and Black Templar, which two things, one, why can't I transport my space and raise my Valkyrie? [SPEAKER_01]: They're saying just saying it costs a lot less than a under all we do roll around here's the thing that I do want to go on because they basically say hey you got to come with me I want to find out if you're free of corruption, which he knows is not going to go well at all, but he also doesn't give him a great choice because he's like [SPEAKER_00]: You can you come with me before I do that smoke show everybody before he does that is the scene where Landro says there when he comes out and he turns Landro's land is this the one Landro says yes, and he Landro secuses him of heresy saying you are a heretic I like that's what it is and yeah, you're then inquisitive thorax goes on this kind of really unpleasant speech Explaining like all these all the things you've done wrong [SPEAKER_00]: And but he also says he's going to kill. [SPEAKER_00]: I will kill everyone. [SPEAKER_00]: He even says the ultramate says we will mark we if you don't come with me I will mark the ultramarines as heretics and He's the way he told me he's I've got a big enough lead to kill everybody that you have right here, you know, yeah [SPEAKER_00]: And so, it's a douche, and the thing about Leandro's, now, with Leandro's then quotes at this point, is the codex of the starlies, so I'm not a copy of it, but he says, in it, it states that the only the powers of chaos can resist the powers of chaos. [SPEAKER_00]: So, kind of the same way that if you weigh this, super dot correct, by the way. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, it is, because if you want to know if someone's a witch, you see if they weigh as much as a duck. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's perfect. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this is so dumb. [SPEAKER_01]: And only and then because of course Titus Protest and says I'm not a heretic, but only interest is met gray nights But that is such a wildly incorrect statement that only the powers of cans could resist cast Waiters had my great nights at it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, they at least mentioned the great nights on stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: Did they were talking? [SPEAKER_01]: Either way, they exist and they know the theme, other people exist, they know librarians. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: You could definitely resist chaos without being chaos. [SPEAKER_01]: You're full of crap. [SPEAKER_01]: The address sucks at least. [SPEAKER_01]: He's awful. [SPEAKER_00]: He's not real, Brett. [SPEAKER_00]: This is we're going back. [SPEAKER_00]: In my mind. [SPEAKER_00]: We're going back to like tooth fairy thing. [SPEAKER_00]: She's not real. [SPEAKER_00]: Your teeth are safe. [SPEAKER_00]: You're fine. [SPEAKER_01]: You don't know that. [SPEAKER_01]: That's why I wear retainers. [SPEAKER_00]: So, as the game ends, you get this great line. [SPEAKER_00]: Heat Landros says that Titus, the Codus, the Stardis leaves no room for doubt. [SPEAKER_00]: You cannot touch the warp and remove and emerge on-skate. [SPEAKER_00]: Titus responds, saying the Codus, the Stardis, is a set of rules. [SPEAKER_00]: They guide you, they shape you as an Ultraman, and they teach you to hold duty and honor above all else. [SPEAKER_00]: how you choose to live within those rules is the test of a space marine, a test you have failed, and then walks away. [SPEAKER_00]: And that gives us any mic drops in. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just got mic drops in, and then walks off. [SPEAKER_00]: And again, it's not the best graphics, but it looks like Leandro's a scowling, but it's just an era guy, some upcoming. [SPEAKER_00]: Now let's get to what happens to Titus after that. [SPEAKER_00]: Titus is in carceration. [SPEAKER_00]: So he's taking away by inquisitor threx, the ominous scene, whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's a cool interaction where Titus says to threx, I want nothing more than to learn why I have a resistance to the warp. [SPEAKER_00]: And threx says, we're going to learn that along with great many other things. [SPEAKER_00]: So let's talk about threx and hopefully [SPEAKER_01]: Straks is such a, I actually hate Lee Andrews more, because he's just weak. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Iphyrax is actually, Straks is just, he's a bad guy. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, let's get into Throx and let people decide. [SPEAKER_00]: So Throx has been an inquisitor for over 400 years at this point, and he's a very interesting character study. [SPEAKER_00]: He's a member of Ordo Malloy, it's obviously, and Throx is just laser focused on heresy. [SPEAKER_00]: And when his big thing is what causes heresy, [SPEAKER_00]: The thing about Thrax is because he's an inquisitor, he's also a master of history. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's actually, no, that's one of his titles, actually. [SPEAKER_01]: I think, he's the inquisitor historian or whatever that is. [SPEAKER_00]: He's got his inquisitors have full access to all the imperial history. [SPEAKER_00]: So Thrax has read everything. [SPEAKER_00]: And what he's, the conclusion he came to is having read the horrors, heresy, is the downfall of the imperium or are the astartists. [SPEAKER_00]: They caused the horrors heresy, and they're the ones who launched chaos upon mankind, though all the worst enemies that mankind has are falling to start us. [SPEAKER_00]: But during butchering people, leading chaos, calls, we see it in games all the time. [SPEAKER_00]: We're a single chaos space marine is leading or chaos sorcerers leading group help this last space marine one. [SPEAKER_00]: And so his whole thing is he thinks, is not that he believes all the starters are chaos traders, but he believes all the starties can become chaos traders. [SPEAKER_00]: And so he endeavors to find and snuff out wherever he can find them. [SPEAKER_00]: So Max actually makes some sense, and but like all inquisters, he gets a little let's go with misguided when it comes to trying to protect the imperium misguided. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he causes some serious issues and also a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of torture and a lot of false imprisonment going on. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we'll get to that. [SPEAKER_00]: So we'll get to that. [SPEAKER_00]: So let's go with the backstory of thorax is that while. [SPEAKER_00]: The events of Gry are beginning. [SPEAKER_00]: Thrax is monitoring segment him solar, obviously, and segment him tempest us. [SPEAKER_00]: Because he wants to just like, this is his zone of watch. [SPEAKER_00]: The organization happens on Grya. [SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't really care. [SPEAKER_00]: It's works, and he's not organizing us. [SPEAKER_00]: So whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: But then I distress call comes referencing a chaos space Marine Lord and Thrax grabs his crew and goes there ASAP. [SPEAKER_00]: B lines. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and Thrax even makes a comment that he doesn't he gets there. [SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't even not care that the ultramarines are there and the ultramarines are quote an unblamish chapter record. [SPEAKER_00]: My God, this Thrax is still nope. [SPEAKER_00]: No, they're unblemished on like certain amphibious ones. [SPEAKER_01]: Shut up, shut up, shut up. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he gets instantly started putting the microscope on. [SPEAKER_01]: Titus. [SPEAKER_00]: Right, and I will be Aussie. [SPEAKER_00]: If you come out of from Therax's perspective, so we get there, there's this one space marine captain running all over the place, right? [SPEAKER_00]: And he's, let's think of it his story. [SPEAKER_00]: So he opened the chaos gate. [SPEAKER_00]: He did open a cascade. [SPEAKER_01]: He has been whether he knew it or not, working for the chaos or let's just go to open the chaos case. [SPEAKER_00]: So there was no chaos gate. [SPEAKER_00]: Titus goes somewhere grabs this weapon, and it's never seen before, and opens a chaos gate with it. [SPEAKER_00]: And Titus's explanation is, I didn't know it was going to do that. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I'm just saying, it's like, okay, I can see we're coming from the next pieces well, why should do it? [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, this, the inquisitor told us to do it, which one? [SPEAKER_00]: Drogon, oh, the one who was possessed by a demon. [SPEAKER_00]: So a demon possessed dude gave you an artifact and sent you over there and then you opened a chaos geek. [SPEAKER_00]: It sounds an awful lot like you're working for chaos here, man. [SPEAKER_00]: Just thrown it out there. [SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, by the way, why it isn't. [SPEAKER_00]: And then one of his own command squad members says, oh yeah, that guy's a heretic. [SPEAKER_00]: I think we've reached a point where the inquisters allowed to say, I have some follow-up questions for you. [SPEAKER_01]: his follow-up questions were hey man how about a stuff you in stasis pod every couple 15 to 20 years like pop you out poke you with a stick and go are you chaos no cool back in the stasis pod yeah but threx yeah it's a trip threx is the bad guy in the story but he also was a very good inquisitor he's actually the one who point out Lou Ferron the guy we covered in the bedabours you're on black heart yeah this is [SPEAKER_00]: He's one who before and start going off like, hey, I think this guy's kind of a dick. [SPEAKER_00]: You guys should look at him. [SPEAKER_00]: He's personally declared six chapters of a Starty's as traders. [SPEAKER_00]: We don't know if they all were, but let's just think of it as word. [SPEAKER_00]: And he actually, but eventually, he starts to grow a little bit too big for his bridges, which is kind of the end of Threx. [SPEAKER_00]: So, Lysander reemerges from the war. [SPEAKER_00]: Lysander's member of the Imperial Fist, who got lost to the war. [SPEAKER_00]: A few hundred years, he was in the war. [SPEAKER_00]: He comes out, the Imperial Fist. [SPEAKER_00]: Hey, our former believes the captain is back. [SPEAKER_00]: And the practice has to, yeah, go to another master and the practice was, oh, no, you have to give him to me personally me. [SPEAKER_00]: So I can interrogate him. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the fist set several facts is of their butts over. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: The fist sent a fist with one with one of the fingers pointing upwards back to him on that one. [SPEAKER_00]: Thrax then starts petitioning the inquisition to effectively hold the imperial fists in contempt or as heretics. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's not until the head of the inquisition on the lords of terror has to send Thrax a strongly worded map memo saying, hey, man, shut up. [SPEAKER_00]: And so Thrax is a little bit upset. [SPEAKER_00]: But Thrax, Thrax is downfall, I like a lot. [SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna get to the end of Thrax. [SPEAKER_00]: And the thing about Thrax is, he actually diced the hands of the inquisition hilariously enough. [SPEAKER_00]: This is the heritage at the end, but I like how he becomes a heretic. [SPEAKER_00]: This is because I don't think I think Thrax is a bad guy with good intentions, which is what most of them are. [SPEAKER_00]: But he only just give the record, Ralph, you're a bad guy, but you're not a bad guy. [SPEAKER_00]: Basically, yeah, actually, I mean, the thing about Thrax is that Thrax is his actions and his goals were actually noble and high-minded. [SPEAKER_00]: He just eventually started going crazy. [SPEAKER_00]: We're because we have other inquisitors who are actually evil. [SPEAKER_00]: You do get this, people go, oh, I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: If you look at, we're actually corrupt. [SPEAKER_01]: Again, if you look into, [SPEAKER_01]: If you look into the abyss, the abyss finally eventually looks back. [SPEAKER_01]: And the thing is that he starts doing some more and more, he was, tightness isn't the only person he has on ice. [SPEAKER_00]: I true. [SPEAKER_00]: And he's got, we'll get there. [SPEAKER_00]: But my point of the fact, when we get here a second, Thrax doesn't get corrupted till the very end. [SPEAKER_00]: He just chooses a really inopportune time to become corrupted, because of who he's next to and when it gets corrupted. [SPEAKER_00]: But let's not bury that lead. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's get there. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a fun reveal. [SPEAKER_00]: So, [SPEAKER_00]: There's a chapter, a space rate of unknown origins, and it had be purged from imperial records, they're called the Grace Layers. [SPEAKER_00]: Not to be confused by the way, the space wolf Grace Layers, who are part of the great crusade, they were good. [SPEAKER_00]: These Grace Layers, they had a recruiting world, and they didn't realize it, but the recruiting world had fallen to chaos. [SPEAKER_00]: So the taint of the chaos in their recruits, it becomes, is in the aspirants and spreads the chapter itself. [SPEAKER_00]: So throcks, [SPEAKER_00]: to his credit is one who detects this and him and the grey knights deploy to the planet and cleanse it. [SPEAKER_00]: Therax though is obsessed with a star taste corruption and wants to know more so he begins investigating the ruins of the world looking for how can this happen he wants to understand how can a angel of the emperor fall to chaos and he must have opened the wrong box because he I've tried to figure out whether he grabbed the six Sith holocron or whether he opened up the hell razor puzzle and just went [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, what do what this does? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and what I love about this story is who we basically open something up immediately gets possessed by a demon. [SPEAKER_00]: Unfortunately, he's standing next to a great night when that happens and the great night that happens and goes, nope and bolted a face, problem solved. [SPEAKER_00]: It's that's the why I point, Sterex dies. [SPEAKER_00]: The last, his corruption happens late. [SPEAKER_00]: We get a lot of inquisitors all through the Black Library books who are corrupted for a long time in our agents of chaos. [SPEAKER_00]: Thrax was not an agent of chaos for more than I don't know, two seconds when a Grey Knight went, Yeah, I know. [SPEAKER_01]: Also, Grey Knights are dishes. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm always torn on Grey Knights, because even I heard there was a story about you seeing a guy that knew a guy that saw a commercial about chaos. [SPEAKER_00]: We should kill everyone. [SPEAKER_00]: Or actually, what? [SPEAKER_00]: Hey, I heard that you see what I look like. [SPEAKER_00]: It's also that one. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's hard not to. [SPEAKER_01]: You're at glowing silver. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, psycho, but we're going to something I don't love doing. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to cliffhanger here now and my cliffhanger here now because we just got to the end of it. [SPEAKER_00]: We know that Titus is in prison somewhere. [SPEAKER_00]: We know Thrax was in prison and Thrax is now dead and Titus obviously doesn't die. [SPEAKER_00]: So in our next episode, we're going to cover [SPEAKER_00]: what happened to Titus, and then what happened to Titus next, and eventually the space Marine 2. [SPEAKER_00]: And then after we got through space Marine 2, we'll jump into the Amazon thing, secret level, and then we'll close out. [SPEAKER_00]: If Amazon thing, it's one of those. [SPEAKER_00]: Come on, it's on that easy. [SPEAKER_00]: And after that, we'll close out with the 500-worlds campaign, but we know about it. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, until next week, John Bar Saadi, Brad Jester, this guy, take care everybody.
