But today I can't I just can't wait. So I got to get right into it. We have a very very special guest. Please welcome from the Bachelor. Truly, when people say who is your favorite, this person is one of my favorites. Catherine Lowe. Hi, Catherine, and welcome to Golden Hour. 00:00:43 Speaker 3: Well hell h hi, I'm good. 00:00:45 Speaker 4: Thank you for having me. 00:00:46 Speaker 1: It was more than a minute ago, but we loved your season. 00:00:51 Speaker 2: I can't believe it was two thoy thirteen. I'm not joking. I you know, long before I was on Golden Bachelor, I watched a lot of the seasons. But I'm not kidding, Catherine, your season with Sean, like I've I've been bear say, I've watched it more than once. You guys were Thank you. 00:01:12 Speaker 3: We had a good time. We had a very good time. 00:01:15 Speaker 5: I just was hoping when I started that I wasn't gone the first night. 00:01:19 Speaker 2: That was my hope. 00:01:21 Speaker 3: I just I know that on paper, I know that was like a regular. 00:01:26 Speaker 5: Fear, but I was, you know, on paper, Shano and I do not make any sense, zero sense together. And once we just started rolling and I got to know him, he just was somebody who I really enjoyed being around. And I think they cast really nice girls for him, so it was a nice environment to have. Even though there's always drama, I still had a lot of fun with the girls. 00:01:50 Speaker 2: So it was wait, I have to ask. I can't let that one go. We've got a bunch of questions for you, Catherine. But why would you say on paper you guys were not. 00:01:58 Speaker 5: Affect Well, he is kind of like all Americana, you know, football guy from Texas, and I was like a hippie from Seattle who rode the bus and was vegan and like, so you just would not put us together. But he was like somebody who I would have a poster yeah all the wall. 00:02:19 Speaker 3: You know, it's like a dream guy. 00:02:20 Speaker 5: So I saved up all my points. 00:02:25 Speaker 4: Oh your. 00:02:27 Speaker 2: Friends, So wait, do you guys live in Texas? You leave in Texas, We've lived in Dallas. 00:02:33 Speaker 3: Well, it's called University Park, but it's down. 00:02:37 Speaker 2: I live in Austin, Oh okay, perfect. 00:02:39 Speaker 3: Yeah, very close. Yeah, and the Seattle of Texas. 00:02:43 Speaker 5: Oh that's where shawls from. So yeah, he went so great. There's a lot of Texas connections. 00:02:48 Speaker 2: Yes, So you guys have been married how long now, Catherine. 00:02:53 Speaker 3: Well, it's actually twelve years in a couple. 00:02:56 Speaker 5: Of weeks and soap children, three babies each children. 00:03:02 Speaker 2: What would you say? It is the secret? I mean, we all know marriage is tough. What's your secret? Even though you are the perfect couple, I will say, what's your secret to making marriage to making it last? Tell us your secret? 00:03:17 Speaker 3: Well, I would say it's twofold. 00:03:18 Speaker 5: Want is commit You know, we might not like each other every day, but you love each other and that's kind of what you strive to remember. And usually the other person doesn't really want to hurt you. We just may see things differently, and so really committing to the idea that that's who you're gonna be with and that's who you committed to. But also, like, we have so much fun and we genuinely are best friends, and so I would say, like laugh together and have fun together because that's what we do all the time. 00:03:45 Speaker 3: I mean, I looked so ugly. 00:03:47 Speaker 5: This morning and I was doing the dishes and I was but he was like joking with me, and we literally just said, like we're best friends. We genuinely enjoy being together, and we spend so much time together because we really we really do have fun and. 00:04:01 Speaker 2: So nice I think about I want to cry. 00:04:05 Speaker 5: I figured it out at least now, you know, it's been twelve years. So three kids, Yeah, I love it. 00:04:16 Speaker 1: And and your daughter name, her name is Anaa Mia okay, so I have a granddaughter and it's Maya, and we spelled it the same exact way. 00:04:29 Speaker 2: So when I said. 00:04:31 Speaker 1: And they said, no, it's a Miya. 00:04:35 Speaker 2: So have your kids watched The Bachelor, Catherine, have any have you allowed your kids to watch the show. 00:04:42 Speaker 5: So they're nine seven and five so or nine seven six, But they they've seen clips, they've seen our wedding, they've seen like when my mom, like they did the hometown visit, so they saw people that they recognize, but they're really not interested. 00:04:57 Speaker 1: They don't You're so weird, right. 00:05:00 Speaker 5: And you know, Sean Love's like, you know, there's very small moments where it's just us. 00:05:06 Speaker 3: He's like doesn't want to show them all the other girls. 00:05:10 Speaker 5: Yeah, so we're shielding them for a little bit, but they've seen really special moments of our your boys, I think they're so not I mean, it's funny how uninterested they are. 00:05:22 Speaker 2: They will when they get older, they will. I saw your post about your daughter turning six. I saw your post about Maya turning six, and I just I know the youngest one. I also had three children, as as to Susan, and it's just when that youngest one starts growing up, it's tough. O. 00:05:42 Speaker 5: God, I know, it's so I know, it's like you just don't want them to Yeah, you don't want them to grow up, but you I mean, I've cherished every season. 00:05:51 Speaker 3: I think this is probably our easiest season. 00:05:53 Speaker 5: And I don't like, I kind of don't know what to do with my arms because I'm like, I'm not holding, I'm not feeding, I'm not changing. And they all, for you go to the same school. They have the same schedule, which is a dream, but it's also. 00:06:06 Speaker 3: Like, where where's my limb? I need my kids so finished. You know, it's funny that you asked that. I think we're done. 00:06:17 Speaker 5: It's like ninety nine point nine, but recently with you know, Jojo had. 00:06:21 Speaker 3: A baby, Caleb Quinn had a baby. 00:06:23 Speaker 5: I have friends over here that have just had babies recently, and I've had baby fever probably for the last. 00:06:28 Speaker 3: Month and a half. 00:06:29 Speaker 5: But then you also look at your children and like, the stage that we're in is so wonderful and it's really easy, and I just get to have this rapport with my kids that it'd be hard to start over. 00:06:42 Speaker 3: But you know, you never know, you never know. 00:06:44 Speaker 2: It's funny you you have two boys and then your girls, your youngest right, yes, yes, and that is me. I had two boys and then I had a girl, and when and when my daughter was six, I think same age. I really wanted another child, but I wanted a daughter, and so my husband said, listen, if you can underwrite another girl, let's do it well. So that that's why I only have three children. I couldn't underwrite. 00:07:20 Speaker 3: I just think sisters are so special. 00:07:22 Speaker 5: I have two sisters and I'm very close to them, and so I feel like half of me is like, I'm so sorry I didn't give you a sister. But then I kind of get to fill that role with her, and it's such a cool friendship that I've developed with her, so I'm excited for those chapters of just having it be me and her and girls trips like that. But you know, a sister, I'm the same as you. I would love another daughter, and my sons actually would love another sister. So I'm in a sticky spot. 00:07:50 Speaker 3: But I think I'm I think I'm just content with where we are at. 00:07:54 Speaker 1: I would advise stay right where you are and then you have life again afterwards. You know, yes, yes, there is so much we want to talk to you about. Besides your secret of making it last. What would you say? Do you date each other every week? Like do you have a special night for just you two? How do you keep your romance? 00:08:17 Speaker 5: Well, we honestly, we both work from home, and I know that that's a lot of couples too. We just make sure that we connect with each other all the time throughout the day. We don't have date nights. I would say most months we don't have date nights. It does kind of start to show the romance a little bit or road when you're not having that connection, that's less playful and more romantic. So we are scheduling like we're having a date night on Saturday, because we've got it's gone too long, but we just try to make those connections. I make him lunch, so I'll bring him lunch and we have a moment there and just being able to see each other and check in with each other. I would say consistently, it's what's worked for us. If you do work from home, make sure that you do have intentional moments. 00:09:03 Speaker 3: With your partner. 00:09:05 Speaker 5: We also try to get the kids down early and so we have that time. We love watching movies, we love watching shows. We have a very similar taste in that. So if we get the kids down at a seven thirty eight, then we'll still have time for just us to to do what we enjoyed doing. 00:09:25 Speaker 2: I was doing a little snooping. I don't mean to sound weird, but honestly, I just think you too, just epitomize what I think a wonderful marriage and love should be. And I was watching a video that you guys were talking about aging out of Bachelor, and someone thought that you were in the bracket of the Golden bachsl or Paradise, And so I was on Golden Batslore and I went to Paradise and I was laughing. I thought up and you are a lot of things, but you are not. Let's just put it out there right now. You are not in the Golden. 00:10:08 Speaker 5: I actually would prefer that category to Paradise in terms of the old Paradise where it was very like, you know, mingling. 00:10:19 Speaker 4: So I'm happy to be in the category that you guys were in. 00:10:23 Speaker 1: I do have a question for you. I've read that you guys went to a marriage boot camp. Oh my gosh, yeah, tell me about that. 00:10:31 Speaker 4: So we did a show. 00:10:33 Speaker 5: I think it was like it was right before we had kids, so it must have been like a year into marriage, two years in a marriage. But we were the only people on the cast that were even married. So it was kind of an interesting dynamic of people that were there. But it actually helped us because there was so much chaos with the other people. We actually got along with a lot of them, but because there was so much going on, we really like solidified our bond within the house. I think it was two weeks and it was like Honey Booboo's mom and people from Basketball Wise and like Bad Girls Club, so we were we were probably. 00:11:12 Speaker 4: Considered like snooty or. 00:11:16 Speaker 5: You know, like uppity or something, but we were just like what is going on? 00:11:20 Speaker 4: This is not at all. 00:11:21 Speaker 1: Like what right because it says marriage boot camp and nobody was married. 00:11:25 Speaker 4: But you, yeah, I know pretty much relationship boot camp. 00:11:29 Speaker 5: But there were certain like things that we did in terms of communication and how to do things. 00:11:35 Speaker 4: You know, obviously produced, but that was. 00:11:38 Speaker 5: A very that made us really have more discerning choices later. 00:11:46 Speaker 2: So I want to tell it really got what what is a habit Kataine that you guys? Well, first let me ask you are you you said you were working. Are you still a graphic designer? 00:11:57 Speaker 4: I do some graphic design. 00:11:59 Speaker 5: That's not my raid, I would say, but I do still have the programs and I still help people out with graphic design and things like that. It's mostly recreational. But I'm now like this year, I've kind of pivoted from doing like entrepreneurial things into more of this. This is the first time that I've done this because I started working when I was like fourteen, doing different jobs, but this is my first time like supporting my husband and his things and really helping us. You know, We've done furniture and so we still are working on Home by Sean and Catherine Low, which has my name on it. More fluff, which is a kind of an offshoot from that. 00:12:36 Speaker 4: So it's been more. 00:12:37 Speaker 5: Of a an not assistance, but like a creative arm of the endeavors that he does the business side of. So we really do work together too, which is fun. But it's been more of like a domestic year, which is so bizarre for me because I am not good at housekeeping. I am not organized whatsoever. I'm like, who put me in this job? 00:13:00 Speaker 4: This is terrible. 00:13:01 Speaker 5: I'm not good at this. But I'm trying to do different facets of things. I'm learning different things and what I'm good at, what I'm not good at, it's all fun. 00:13:11 Speaker 1: It's all fun, all right. I have to ask a million dollar question, if you will, Yeah, if your kids wanted to go on The Bachelor or a Bachelorette when they're adults, how would you react to that. 00:13:23 Speaker 4: I would say it's fine. 00:13:24 Speaker 5: My husband says differently, but I'm like, if you said, I mean, obviously we all went on for different reasons. But and there's not that many success stories, but it's fine, and if you carry yourself well, I think it's totally fine. Before I went on the show, I actually asked someone that I trusted in my industry because I was a graphic designer at Amazon and I really did want to propel my career in that direction. I called him and I said, what do you think this would do? Because I am nervous. You know, I'm just gonna look at it from all different angles see if this. 00:13:57 Speaker 4: Is something that I do want to do, because I did want to take. 00:13:59 Speaker 5: It because it does affect your reputation professionally and personally, and he said, don't do it, and because it is something that could go wrong. 00:14:11 Speaker 4: Right if you do. 00:14:13 Speaker 5: Something consistently where you don't show who you really are, you take direction that isn't really something that you would do naturally, and you aren't genuinely yourself, that could hurt you and then people could peg you as something that you're not. 00:14:26 Speaker 4: Well. 00:14:27 Speaker 5: I just think that if my kids stay true to themselves, they know who they are, that they're totally fine to go on there as an experience and something fun. 00:14:36 Speaker 1: Why do you think Sean doesn't want that to happen because he. 00:14:39 Speaker 4: Just probably wants it more traditional. I mean, there's there's a lot of risks, you. 00:14:43 Speaker 5: Know, being on TV and meeting someone like that, you know, there are it opens yourself up to public scrutiny and just that life. 00:14:52 Speaker 4: So I think he's just like, you know, meet someone normal. But I don't know. 00:14:57 Speaker 5: There's so many people that meet for from reality TV, whether with a bachelor or not, so I think that might be the normal way. 00:15:06 Speaker 2: Thank you for saying that, Catherine. I still have hope. Now I still have hope. You hear that, Susan people. Okay, well, here's one of my next questions for you, because you were talking about your children. What do you think people should know about their spouse or partner before having children? 00:15:24 Speaker 5: Oh gosh, well, you know, I think, I honestly think that having a pet really does show what type of parent they're going to be. Yeah, I do, because it is caring for someone that's an extension of yourself, someone that you have to really think about, that you have to be responsible for. And so how they treat animals does I think show what they're going to be like to someone that they love write a baby. Shlo had two dogs when I met him, and he was he really showed those qualities of being a leader but fun and playful. He'll get down on the ground and takes such good care of those dogs. So I would say that is a good good way to see if that someone is a good person for you. 00:16:10 Speaker 2: To have a basic one that I have to tell you. That is so interesting because what I tell people is exactly the same thing. But it's not about pets. I say to women, look at how he treats his mother. Yes, that's what I say. I've never heard about pets before, but I think that's I think that's actually valid as well. That's kind of interesting. I'm gonna I'm gonna hold onto that one. 00:16:36 Speaker 1: Absolutely have have. Do you have any habits you or Sean that you both had to unlearn? It's getting married. 00:16:45 Speaker 5: I am known. I would say that this is a creative thing. I'm just gonna say that because I'm marketing my downfalls. 00:16:53 Speaker 4: But I'm messy. I'm very messy. 00:16:55 Speaker 5: I'm the girl that has to try on a ton of different outfits and I just throw them all over the place. 00:17:00 Speaker 1: Down and hang them back up. 00:17:01 Speaker 4: I do not hang them back up. I don't at all. 00:17:04 Speaker 2: Let me just tell you, don't ever go to Susan's ever behind you. 00:17:10 Speaker 5: You're very clean, You're very tidy. But it's that is a huge that's been like a bugaboo on my husband's list. I've tried really hard. It's hard, though you have. I mean, I'm very grateful, this is a blessing. But people send me things. Right, there's a ton of boxes that come in and I am like, okay, well. 00:17:31 Speaker 4: If I get new stuff, I have to purge. 00:17:33 Speaker 5: But I never get to the purging part because I'm trying on new things and I'm like, oh, this is cool. And so anyways, mine is messiness one hundred percent. I'm still working on it. It will be a lifelong struggle of mine. 00:17:44 Speaker 4: That's I will say. 00:17:46 Speaker 3: Trying to do that. 00:17:47 Speaker 4: I'm trying to change that habit because it is not good. He was not affectionate when we started. 00:17:54 Speaker 5: He wasn't and so I was just like, I just want to hold your hand. And it turned into him really going out of his way because you know, he didn't he didn't date a ton before we met. He had long time partners but years before, and so I think he was just kind of turned off to that affection part. And so I was like, can I just really would like hold your hand and be close and like that part. So I think he ended up trying to learn that habit and now he's very affectionate. 00:18:29 Speaker 2: So oh, that's surprising. I would never have guessed that he is very warm. 00:18:35 Speaker 5: He is very warm, but I think just the touching, the physical touch and a girlfriend in public was not something that he was used to. 00:18:43 Speaker 2: Yeah, my husband too, but I wouldn't have thought that about a uphun. So, what's on the dock up for you guys for this year? Obviously you're busy with business. What are your big plans for the year. 00:18:52 Speaker 5: Yeah, I would say my personal goals are like to create more systems, and I think I just started reading Atomic Habits by James Clear because I really do want to get on a track where I'm successful in tons of different ways, and I kind of feel like I have a clean slate. Last year was probably my hardest year in recent memory, and so I'm why why, Well, my dad passed away and then you know the floods that happened in Texas. Well, I'm I was very close to one of the little girls who passed, and so our community has really felt a. 00:19:27 Speaker 2: Huge Like my kids went to school with one of the parents that lost their daughter. Something. 00:19:34 Speaker 5: Yeah, the tentacles are deep with that tragedy, and so We've just it's been a lot of mourning. It's been a lot of like detachment from certain organizations and friends and like not not anything negative, just it's just been very much like a clean slate this year. And so I'm really excited for relearning how to create successful like me as a woman. Now my kids are kind of taking care of we don't have a nanny, so like, but that's. 00:20:08 Speaker 4: Really important to me to be really engaged with my kids. 00:20:11 Speaker 5: But this year seems super open, and so I just really want to get it right. I want to start systems that work for me, work for our family so that I don't let these really magical years of childhood like go away fast because they yeah, and so I want to take advantage of these of these times and really be intentional on what this year looks like. 00:20:34 Speaker 4: So that's a. 00:20:34 Speaker 5: Huge one for me, just starting starting fresh and refocusing and then business endeavors and yeah, I mean, I just I've been loving this chapter of our child, of our of our family. We just have so much fun together, fun together. We're all best friends. We really do enjoy each other's company. So just really relishing in that and being present in that you. 00:21:02 Speaker 1: Have a great head on your shoulder. Yes, I just love everything you're saying. 00:21:12 Speaker 2: I'm fascinated that you guys both have thriving entrepreneurial minds and business and you have three kids, and I have three kids, and I know what it's like when they're in school and the activities. How the hell do you manage all of that without missing a beat? I mean, it's one thing to say we're all really close and we love spending time together, and it's a whole other thing to say we're doing that. Oh and oh, by the way, Dad and I have full time jobs that take up you know, a lot of our day. 00:21:47 Speaker 5: Well, I honestly, right now, I've because all three of them are at the same school. I've taken like I have two chair positions in the PTA. I'm also like a room mom, which is a huge commitment, and because my husband is portive of how much time I spend at the school. 00:22:03 Speaker 4: Because I really love these kids. 00:22:05 Speaker 5: I love not only obviously my children, but like the kids that go to school with them and who they see all the. 00:22:10 Speaker 4: Time, their teachers. 00:22:11 Speaker 5: I was over there today just in the art room, but I think it's I wake up today. 00:22:20 Speaker 4: I woke up before five, which was abnormal. 00:22:22 Speaker 5: But I usually wake up at five thirty and I try to figure out how to maximize the different things that I want to do. I do Bible study, I work out a little bit. I need to get better at that. But really it's just taking taking inventory of what's important to you and focusing on that. I'm not a master at all. I'm again like I'm saying, I'm trying to relearn how I'm going to do this this year. But you know, Sean has an office upstairs. I work downstairs, and we just bounce ideas off of each other all the time and it's it's really fun. But I would say I'm really focusing on time blocking this year because if it is not on my calendar, it does not get done. And that like, I don't want to be that type of person that's like every minute is mapped out. But I have to have a manager of my life, and it's me. 00:23:18 Speaker 4: I'm not good at it. My planner is going to be my manager. Exactly exactly. 00:23:25 Speaker 2: Wowed. 00:23:29 Speaker 5: Well, I mean, we are going on the cruise. We're doing the Bachelor cruise. That's so amazing. I'm really excited. People keep asking me about that, So that'll be in November. 00:23:40 Speaker 1: Who will keep the children? 00:23:42 Speaker 5: I think they're coming cool, and so my in laws are going to come, and we're best friends with Sean's parents and so there we're all going to come together and experience a little. 00:23:53 Speaker 4: Like family family vacation and then Sean and I get to to be with everybody on the cruise. 00:23:58 Speaker 5: So yeah, I mean, I don't I don't know my That's that's it. It's really not that interesting over here. I'm just a suburban housewife. 00:24:08 Speaker 4: That's how I feel right now. 00:24:09 Speaker 1: Because how about your parents that they're still they're not. 00:24:15 Speaker 5: My My mom is in Seattle. My dad passed away last year. He was in Mexico. My younger sisters in France, and my older sisters in Mexico, so. 00:24:22 Speaker 4: We're all over the world. 00:24:24 Speaker 5: I think we're going to do a reunion this year, which will be really nice because I really do miss them. 00:24:28 Speaker 2: But do you speak other languages, Catherine? 00:24:31 Speaker 4: I can. 00:24:32 Speaker 5: I can understand Spanish. I'm better at listening than I am speaking. 00:24:37 Speaker 4: I can. 00:24:37 Speaker 5: I can get away with conversational I started learning French because my whole I was just thinking about this today, which is funny. My younger sister married a British guy in France and their daughters speak French and they speak French all the time, and so I was trying to learn French through babble to kind of like have a continuation of that. And I went to France, I think it was two years ago, to be with my sister. And that's a hard language that. 00:25:06 Speaker 1: I was just going to tell you. I'm finding it very difficult. I'm getting nowhere are you learning it? I was trying. I've tried, and you're talking to multi language over here. 00:25:20 Speaker 2: I'm not multi language. But French and Spanish are very similar languages if. 00:25:26 Speaker 3: You read it. 00:25:27 Speaker 5: If you read it, but then when you hear it, it's harder because like it's just they together. 00:25:33 Speaker 2: Every every letter in Spanish is pronounced and not and everything French. 00:25:38 Speaker 1: The letters the last letter and then roll one word into the other world actually whoa. And when I'm trying to speak it, I say each word and they laugh at. 00:25:52 Speaker 2: Como. That's great. Well, you are a fascinating a person. We've got to ask you, Catherine, do you have any questions for us? Because I could go on, I could be asking you. 00:26:06 Speaker 4: I can Yeah, you know, I do have a question. 00:26:10 Speaker 5: Actually I have wanted like I just think it's so interesting to look at your life and wonder if you weren't the career that you ended up being. 00:26:20 Speaker 4: What would you be. 00:26:25 Speaker 2: Well For me? I had several careers. I was, I was a teacher, I was a newspaper writer. But honestly, I can't answer what career, but I can tell you I so wish that I had lived in another country and raised my kids for a period of time with my husband in another country. I think that learning different languages and culture is so important. And I and we never when I first got married. We lived in Scotland when my husband was an officer in the navy. But I was a child when I got married. But I would have loved to have lived in Spain or Portugal or France or something so that you know, it's not too late to go do it. But that would be my thing, just to give my kids that experience. 00:27:18 Speaker 4: Yeah, I like that. That's a good one. 00:27:21 Speaker 1: And I've done so many different careers I couldn't kick one amongst the other. But I like going abroad as well. I would like to spend a little more time when I go instead of a two week or you know, maybe stay six weeks in different countries. 00:27:38 Speaker 4: I like that. I like that. 00:27:41 Speaker 5: What advice do you have for my chapter of life? And what to look ahead to. 00:27:49 Speaker 1: Keep your head on straight, focus on your family, which it sounds like you are doing. I think you're doing everything right. And I love that you're still career oriented and you want to take off the book that you're reading. I'm very curious of what it is it's telling you. 00:28:07 Speaker 5: It's really to create not just focusing on the goal that you want, because after you know, I ran a half marathon last year, and right after I was I did the marathon, I stopped running, and so more of like creating systems to have it be a lifestyle change based on what you're whatever you're thinking, like what what you want in your life, to create a system rather than just have a goal because that kind of has an end date or something like that. 00:28:35 Speaker 4: So that's that's kind. 00:28:36 Speaker 5: Of what it's saying, to create like a sustainable lifestyle change in whatever you want for. 00:28:42 Speaker 1: Your life, because it doesn't sound like you need a lifestyle change by any means. 00:28:46 Speaker 2: You have at lifestyle going on, as I think, Catherine, my advice to you would be, which is going to sound, you know, hokey, but you again is having having I mean it sounds so weird, but you and Sean truly are one of my favorites of all the couples. And in that vein never it's so easy, and I say this from personal experience, it's so easy to lose yourself in your career. It's so easy to lose yourself in your children and their activities. It's don't ever forget the relationship to you and Sean have and really put emphasis on that because if you guys have that really strong bond that is going to ripple. That ripple effect will be felt by your children and that will make them grow stronger. And so keep those things important to you and you'll be giving a gift that you didn't even know you were giving. 00:29:44 Speaker 1: I love that, And don't realize how much you are admired in the bachelor world. Like you guys are success, sure, sure success and still happy after all these years and three beautiful children. 00:29:58 Speaker 2: Yeah, you have an age perfect and you're one of my dam One of these things. This here was me not worrying about my hair because I have terrible hair. And this is just torture. I'm sitting here looking at your gorgeous head of hair, and I'm like, damn it. She's got a fabulous husband, three fabulous kids, a career, and she's got a gorgeous head of hair. 00:30:20 Speaker 4: We always do that, don't we. 00:30:22 Speaker 1: Was it hard for you to move to Texas? 00:30:24 Speaker 4: It was. 00:30:25 Speaker 5: It was a very big change. You know, Seattle and Dallas could not be you are fine eighty. I'm like, what am I doing here? I do not have any identity like Austin. 00:30:38 Speaker 4: Austin is the Seattle of Texas. 00:30:40 Speaker 2: That's right. 00:30:41 Speaker 5: I've met a lot of cool people in this neighborhood that are from Austin that I connect with very much. 00:30:46 Speaker 4: And I also there's a lot of. 00:30:48 Speaker 5: International people in our community, and so I've really like interestingly been connected with them. But it's been really a nice place to raise my family. I really enjoy especially our community where we can walk to school, walk to activities. I think there's like five kids on our block that are just in my oldest son's grade in I know friends. 00:31:14 Speaker 2: And when we've finished here, I've got to ask you, because I have friends in University Park, We're going to play that game? Yeah, probably know them. 00:31:19 Speaker 5: Yeah, it's been I mean it's a really magical little it's kind of like Pleasantville and they. 00:31:25 Speaker 4: But I really do like the. 00:31:27 Speaker 5: People are super kind in in Texas. They I've really been blessed to get to know people who just like very kind and that I've been so jaded. I've lived here for probably now thirteen years. I went somewhere else a couple of months ago and I was like, what nobody even saying hi to me? Or I opened a door for a man and he didn't even acknowledge me. 00:31:54 Speaker 2: I was. 00:31:55 Speaker 4: I was like, Wow, I'm really spoiled here. 00:31:57 Speaker 1: So it's the truth. 00:31:58 Speaker 4: I'm okay with that, okay with being spoiled here now. 00:32:01 Speaker 1: Living there for nine years. And I go back to Philly and they sound rude. We sound rude up here. I mean, everybody's so in Texas. 00:32:10 Speaker 2: And I'm originally from Massachusetts, Catherine, and I've lived in Texas many years, and it's the same thing. When I go back to Massachusetts, people are like, why are you talking to me? I don't know, but I do. 00:32:23 Speaker 4: I love the East Coast vibe. I love it. I've always really appreciated that. 00:32:28 Speaker 1: Because that hippie in you. 00:32:32 Speaker 5: I just like directness. I think it's really I love people who are direct. 00:32:36 Speaker 2: So you love me, right, I do?
