NXT Review: Orton vs Evans, Tag Team Title Match, More

<v Speaker 1>Hey everyone, Welcome to this week's NXT review. This is
<v Speaker 1>Jay here on the WWE podcast Network. I am coming
<v Speaker 1>to you from my living room today. Normally I actually
<v Speaker 1>record these in my car, but I decided today that
<v Speaker 1>I just felt like relaxing in my living room and
<v Speaker 1>recording this podcast. I am going to be reviewing the
<v Speaker 1>episode for NXT that was on October tenth and twenty
<v Speaker 1>twenty four, I'm sorry, October eighth, twenty twenty four, and
<v Speaker 1>it was from the factory in Saint Louis, Missouri. So
<v Speaker 1>interesting actually, So I watched one in I RAW on Monday,
<v Speaker 1>which was from Saint Louis, and then I watched an
<v Speaker 1>XT and I just originally thought that the NXT episode
<v Speaker 1>would be from the same arena as uh, excuse me
<v Speaker 1>as the RAW episode, and then when I when they
<v Speaker 1>came on for the episode, it was obviously not. It
<v Speaker 1>had a little bit of a of a TNA feel
<v Speaker 1>if you've watched, ever watched a TNA wrestling event, it
<v Speaker 1>had a little bit of that feel, that vibe that
<v Speaker 1>the whole thing with the people sitting on the ramp
<v Speaker 1>on either side of the ramp as people would as
<v Speaker 1>the wrestlers would walk out from the backstage area was weird.
<v Speaker 1>It was really weird like and then they were look
<v Speaker 1>like they were, if I remember correctly, kind of like
<v Speaker 1>they were facing in towards each other, so like when
<v Speaker 1>they wanted to watch the wrestling matches, they had to turn.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know, the whole the whole thing, the whole
<v Speaker 1>thing with them being on the ramp was weird, but
<v Speaker 1>the venue was really cool. Actually reminds so I'm from
<v Speaker 1>the Hudson Valley area and back when I was a kid,
<v Speaker 1>we used to go watch wrestling events at the Mid
<v Speaker 1>Hudson the Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, and they used to
<v Speaker 1>do money net ross from there too. And the funny
<v Speaker 1>thing is I'm trying, I'm gonna try to describe as
<v Speaker 1>best I can. So basically, it's an auditorium. There's a
<v Speaker 1>stage on one side, there's just a square I guess
<v Speaker 1>floor in the middle, and then seats that go up
<v Speaker 1>just on one side. So there's walls on either side
<v Speaker 1>of the floor, and then the backside of it has
<v Speaker 1>has like you know, seats that go that go up
<v Speaker 1>and and it's funny because they but when they would
<v Speaker 1>tape Monday Night Raw this, and I say tape because
<v Speaker 1>it was taped back then they would put the camera
<v Speaker 1>on the stage facing the seats, so it looked the
<v Speaker 1>Civic Center looked like a lot bigger than it was.
<v Speaker 1>And I kind of got that feel from, you know,
<v Speaker 1>not exactly, but I kind of got that general feel
<v Speaker 1>from from this arena arena. It was a small facility.
<v Speaker 1>But I have to tell you this is why it worked.
<v Speaker 1>Last week they were in Chicago, they did this huge
<v Speaker 1>arena event, place was packed, people went crazy. This week
<v Speaker 1>they did it in a smaller venue, now not as
<v Speaker 1>small as the Performance Center where they have usually do
<v Speaker 1>NXT shows, but it was kind of in between, in
<v Speaker 1>between the arena and the Performance Center, and so it
<v Speaker 1>seemed like their goal. I'm wondering. It seems like the
<v Speaker 1>goal was they're stepping down, starting in the arena in Chicago,
<v Speaker 1>the All State Arena the first week, the Factory in
<v Speaker 1>Saint Louis, which was obviously not the big arena in
<v Speaker 1>Saint Louis, and then now stepping down. Next week they're
<v Speaker 1>gonna be back at the Performance Center, I'm assuming, because
<v Speaker 1>they haven't made any announcement otherwise, so it seems like
<v Speaker 1>now they're stepping down to the performance center, which you know,
<v Speaker 1>for somebody who hasn't watched NXT before it was on
<v Speaker 1>the CW, you know, they're kind of fading it down,
<v Speaker 1>which makes sense for those of us that have been
<v Speaker 1>watching NXT for for a better part of a few
<v Speaker 1>years or however long you've been watching it, you're just
<v Speaker 1>gonna be like, oh, now they're back at the performance center.
<v Speaker 1>So I thought that was a really interesting concept. The
<v Speaker 1>episode of NXT from last night was not nearly as
<v Speaker 1>to me, for me personally, it was not nearly as
<v Speaker 1>good as the one from last week. But the one
<v Speaker 1>from last week was like that was like the first
<v Speaker 1>one on the CW. We're running out of the gate.
<v Speaker 1>We're punching you in the face with the best stuff
<v Speaker 1>we have, and they did and it worked this week.
<v Speaker 1>It was by halfway between last week and what it
<v Speaker 1>usually is. I will say that, you know, we're gonna
<v Speaker 1>go through the matches and the backstage, the backstage stuff,
<v Speaker 1>and I'm gonna kind of give you my opinion on
<v Speaker 1>some stuff. Some stuff was great and some stuff. So
<v Speaker 1>this way on this morning, on my way to work,
<v Speaker 1>I was listening to Matt's Raw review, and a couple
<v Speaker 1>of things crossed over from the from RAW to NXT.
<v Speaker 1>So I'm so I always wanted to listen to see
<v Speaker 1>what his thoughts were on something. But I'm just gonna
<v Speaker 1>get this out of the way before I say anything
<v Speaker 1>else about the NXT show. Please stop a sexy red
<v Speaker 1>please it's it doesn't work. It doesn't work, and I'm
<v Speaker 1>sorry to anyway. So they brought her in to quote
<v Speaker 1>sing one of her songs, which she did sing, but
<v Speaker 1>basically she did the same thing that when I turn
<v Speaker 1>on my radio and I sing to my radio, that
<v Speaker 1>I do like. She sang to a recording of herself
<v Speaker 1>singing her song what please Stop. And I've never been
<v Speaker 1>so happy. And now listen, I've said I think I've
<v Speaker 1>said to you before. I really like Ethan Page. I
<v Speaker 1>love his heel character. I think he's he's just great
<v Speaker 1>at it. But I've never been happier to see him
<v Speaker 1>walk out while she was quote singing her song and
<v Speaker 1>interrupting her. I know it was supposed to be a
<v Speaker 1>heel move. And I know they're trying, I mean, Matt
<v Speaker 1>said yesterday, they're trying to open up to a wider audience,
<v Speaker 1>and I get that, but like, find somebody else, Please,
<v Speaker 1>find somebody else. It doesn't work. She doesn't work, she's annoying.
<v Speaker 1>And maybe it's just because of my background. I don't
<v Speaker 1>really prefer that kind of music that she has that
<v Speaker 1>she does, but it doesn't work, and they need to
<v Speaker 1>This is not the first time they brought her in.
<v Speaker 1>They even felt they need to bring it a raw
<v Speaker 1>two days ago. Well at this at the time of
<v Speaker 1>recording would be two days ago. It just was not
<v Speaker 1>good and they need to stop. They just need to stop.
<v Speaker 1>Personal opinion. I understand that maybe some of you listen
<v Speaker 1>to it, you know, listen to this podcast, so like, no,
<v Speaker 1>it's wonderful, blah blah blah. I mean, please, if you
<v Speaker 1>think it was wonderful, justify it to me in the comments,
<v Speaker 1>because I don't. I don't see. I can't see how
<v Speaker 1>it was anything but just god awful. And I know
<v Speaker 1>that's extreme, but that's the way I feel. Okay, So
<v Speaker 1>the show opens up with a package recalling what happened
<v Speaker 1>last week. I'm not gonna go through it because I
<v Speaker 1>went through it for an out half an hour last week,
<v Speaker 1>but the two highlights were Trick Williams obviously winning the
<v Speaker 1>NXT title from Ethan Page. And they touched on this
<v Speaker 1>last not last night, but two days ago on Raw
<v Speaker 1>about how see him punk quote cost Ethan Page the title.
<v Speaker 1>If anybody saw it, you realized that didn't happen. He
<v Speaker 1>attacked him after the match, Well, they attacked each other
<v Speaker 1>after the match. But I was kind of to be honest,
<v Speaker 1>and I actually said this in the comments of one
<v Speaker 1>of Matt's recordings recently about you know, they don't have
<v Speaker 1>anything for punk to do. And he obviously came out
<v Speaker 1>on Raw, you know, beaten and battered from the hell
<v Speaker 1>in the cell match, which wow. And I'm still like,
<v Speaker 1>I know this is not a main show review, but
<v Speaker 1>that bump that Drew McIntyre took where he went for
<v Speaker 1>the claymore and knocked and hit his back on the
<v Speaker 1>corner of the stairs, Like to this day, it just
<v Speaker 1>gives me like the willies just thinking about how much
<v Speaker 1>that had to hurt. Anyway, going back to my point,
<v Speaker 1>so Ciampunk for a while is not gonna have really
<v Speaker 1>a program with anybody, and I know that he had
<v Speaker 1>one point he did say that, So that's that he
<v Speaker 1>wanted to go for the world title and to be
<v Speaker 1>honest I had said that maybe he could do a
<v Speaker 1>mini program with Ethan Page. Doesn't even necessarily have to
<v Speaker 1>be an NXT but Ethan Page right now, I mean,
<v Speaker 1>he's he's going to be in a triple threat match
<v Speaker 1>next week for the you know, to be the number
<v Speaker 1>one contender for Trick Williams title. Okay, fine, but he
<v Speaker 1>doesn't really have a program himself. So this whole NXT
<v Speaker 1>in the last two weeks, the whole thing just seems
<v Speaker 1>to be one big reset. And it started out and
<v Speaker 1>we're going to talk about the first segment, which was
<v Speaker 1>which was Trick Williams coming out and kind of doing
<v Speaker 1>a victory lap with the NXT title. And it's clear
<v Speaker 1>to me, it's clear. I think it's clear to pretty
<v Speaker 1>much everybody that Trick Williams is now the new the
<v Speaker 1>new face of NXT, and they're going to be marketing
<v Speaker 1>him first, which I think is great. I love Trick Williams.
<v Speaker 1>I honestly think I think he'll be in the main
<v Speaker 1>I think come the draft of twenty twenty five back,
<v Speaker 1>you know, I guess said in April or May or
<v Speaker 1>whatever it is, I think he's bound for the main roster.
<v Speaker 1>And if he doesn't get to the main roster, then
<v Speaker 1>I'm gonna wonder why, to be honest, because he's he's
<v Speaker 1>got it all. He's got it all. He's got the personality,
<v Speaker 1>he's got the charisma, he's got the skills like he
<v Speaker 1>just he needs he's you know, let him cook a
<v Speaker 1>little bit with the title. I think you let him
<v Speaker 1>keep it till Stand and Deliver, which is the WrestleMania
<v Speaker 1>weekend at p l E. But let him let him cook,
<v Speaker 1>let him simmer, and then unleash him. Uh next next summer,
<v Speaker 1>just unleasham they like they did similarly with Carmelo Hayes
<v Speaker 1>and Brown Breaker this year. That's my own personal opinion.
<v Speaker 1>I think he's great. I think it's I think it's
<v Speaker 1>very smart. It's extremely smart that they are making him
<v Speaker 1>the face of NXT right now, and they made it.
<v Speaker 1>They did it in the fashion that they should have
<v Speaker 1>with making him win the title in the first episode,
<v Speaker 1>as as if NXT is saying to the CW world,
<v Speaker 1>here's our guy. This is the guy you need to
<v Speaker 1>look at. Oh yeah, we have out the other other
<v Speaker 1>people too, but this is the guy and he is
<v Speaker 1>the guy. So in the beginning of NX team, we'll
<v Speaker 1>talk about talk about the review in the dading and
<v Speaker 1>it was t Trick Williams opens up the show for
<v Speaker 1>a promo to address the NXT NXT Championship title win,
<v Speaker 1>and then as he's giving himself his props, rightfully so
<v Speaker 1>out comes Wesley. He's in the balcony of one of
<v Speaker 1>the sides of the arena. And again it's a small arena.
<v Speaker 1>So like if it was if this, if that was
<v Speaker 1>done the balcony of a big arena, like it would
<v Speaker 1>be he would be completely excrew, like crazy far away.
<v Speaker 1>But doing it in this little venue, he wasn't that
<v Speaker 1>far away from the range so they could talk to
<v Speaker 1>each other. They talked to each other. Trick Williams calls
<v Speaker 1>Wesley light skin, which okay, that's fine, and they uh
<v Speaker 1>and Wesley basically says, you know, I you you know
<v Speaker 1>you had a major win, so did I last week?
<v Speaker 1>I got rid of some extra weight, he said, he claims,
<v Speaker 1>and that he wants to go against Trick Williams for
<v Speaker 1>the title and uh, and Lee thinks that he's gonna
<v Speaker 1>leave him in the desk based like he said, like
<v Speaker 1>your partner did, which I'm assuming he means Carmelo Hayes
<v Speaker 1>and then they're both interrupted now now and again this
<v Speaker 1>is a main this is a main roster guy. But
<v Speaker 1>they're interrupted by jay Uso, main event. Jay Uso. He
<v Speaker 1>kind of he comes out of the crowd, which in
<v Speaker 1>this in this venue took a lot less time for
<v Speaker 1>him to get from the hallway to the ring because
<v Speaker 1>it was such a small such a small venue. And
<v Speaker 1>here's the thing, like jay Uso right now and then
<v Speaker 1>he did He's not like, yeah, he's got the Intercomental
<v Speaker 1>title and you know, it puts a lot of credible
<v Speaker 1>credibility on him. But he could have done exactly what
<v Speaker 1>he did last night in n XT without the title.
<v Speaker 1>He could have done exactly the same thing. All he did.
<v Speaker 1>All he did last night was come out congratulate Trick Williams.
<v Speaker 1>They went back and forth with whooped that trick and
<v Speaker 1>yeat and that was the end of it. He didn't
<v Speaker 1>really even do anything. He didn't say anything. It was
<v Speaker 1>just Hi, I'm jay Jusso, yeat, Hey, this guy's good.
<v Speaker 1>Whooped that trick? Back and forth bye, and that was
<v Speaker 1>the end of it. But he didn't have to like
<v Speaker 1>it was just it was like you know you kind
<v Speaker 1>of like like, oh wow, he like, I'm so happy
<v Speaker 1>to see him here. And that's the way I felt,
<v Speaker 1>and I could tell the crowd felt the same way.
<v Speaker 1>They were just happy to have jay Uso in the building.
<v Speaker 1>And it was it was a cool thing. Again, didn't
<v Speaker 1>do anything, but it was just he just was there.
<v Speaker 1>So anyway, that ended, and then we had the six
<v Speaker 1>woman tag team match, which pitted Bianca bell Air, Jade
<v Speaker 1>Carr Gill and Keanni Kilanni James versus Fatal Influence of
<v Speaker 1>Fallon Henley, j C Jane and Jasmine Nicks. And this
<v Speaker 1>was an okay match. There's a lot of of uh,
<v Speaker 1>what is it the the script of a Jade and
<v Speaker 1>Bianca match? Where Jade goes out there, kicks some butt
<v Speaker 1>for a while, gets her butt kicked for a while,
<v Speaker 1>hot tags, hot tags Jade to come in, and then
<v Speaker 1>Jade just beats the crap out everybody this time, though
<v Speaker 1>there were some there were some times where the three
<v Speaker 1>of them would and Colonie Jordan would join them and
<v Speaker 1>beating up everybody, and then at the end it was
<v Speaker 1>very cool. So at the end they did Brianka and
<v Speaker 1>Jade did their finisher. I don't know what it's called.
<v Speaker 1>I forgot what it's called. But then they allowed Colonie
<v Speaker 1>Jordan to do her split legged Moon Salt and pin
<v Speaker 1>Fatal Influence for the wind. So ultimately this helped push
<v Speaker 1>four people in the next day. It helped push the
<v Speaker 1>three members of Fatal Influence and extremely helped pushed, helped
<v Speaker 1>push Jordan, who, by the way, she's a North American
<v Speaker 1>champion right now, she doesn't really need a huge push.
<v Speaker 1>It was cool to have it, and maybe they're setting
<v Speaker 1>her up for in the future to go for the
<v Speaker 1>world title, which which right now is clogged with people,
<v Speaker 1>which we'll talk about. The NX Team Women's title is
<v Speaker 1>clogged with people in a good way. And I know
<v Speaker 1>that sounds weird, but I'll explain later. So anyway, bottom
<v Speaker 1>line is is that Jade, Bianca and Kloni got the
<v Speaker 1>win and it was just again, it's nice to see
<v Speaker 1>the main talent roster main talent roster people come down
<v Speaker 1>and do a little something. Later on in the show,
<v Speaker 1>there's actually an interaction between Jade and Bianca and metaphor
<v Speaker 1>lash Legend and I forgot the other person's name. It's
<v Speaker 1>your somewhere anyway, and they actually set up a match
<v Speaker 1>for the two of them Meta from Metaphor to go
<v Speaker 1>onto SmackDown. So this this Friday night on SmackDown, it'll
<v Speaker 1>be metaphor Or against Jade and Bianca for the tag
<v Speaker 1>team titles because basically, Beyanca's like, they want a tag
<v Speaker 1>team tunnel Matching back, He's like, well, we're not coming
<v Speaker 1>to you. You got to come to us. You have
<v Speaker 1>to come to smack Down, which I mean, you're there now.
<v Speaker 1>I don't understand, but whatever. If you hear Matt, he
<v Speaker 1>calls them the mean girls, and they it's what it
<v Speaker 1>kind of is. They're kind of like demean girls. But anyway,
<v Speaker 1>so after the match, backstage, we've got Randy Orton and
<v Speaker 1>Randy Orton and he sees Proxium, which is Nathan Fraser
<v Speaker 1>and Axiom, and they he asks them how fast Javon
<v Speaker 1>Evans is because in case, you know, in case you forgot,
<v Speaker 1>the main event that night was Randy Orton versus Javon Evans,
<v Speaker 1>which we'll get to you later about how that match went.
<v Speaker 1>And Axiom says, uh, oh, he's the fastest guy in NXT.
<v Speaker 1>And then Nathan Fraser's like, dude, I'm right here and
<v Speaker 1>he's like, he apologizes and uh and says and then
<v Speaker 1>uh and he says, I'm sorry for being a hot head.
<v Speaker 1>And Randy says, you don't have to feel started for
<v Speaker 1>being a hot head. You can be a hot head sometimes. Anyway,
<v Speaker 1>after that interaction, then we had Roxanne Perez come to
<v Speaker 1>the ring and to do a promo and she was
<v Speaker 1>bad mouthing the fans for hyping up Julia and thinking
<v Speaker 1>that she would win the title, but she did not.
<v Speaker 1>Then again Roxanne did get help. But when everyone props
<v Speaker 1>up another person to fight her, she she'll be drinking.
<v Speaker 1>I love this line. She'll be drinking the tears of
<v Speaker 1>all the fans when she retains. Again it's a great line.
<v Speaker 1>It was such a great line. But she but now
<v Speaker 1>she's like, now she says she won't be drinking alone anymore.
<v Speaker 1>Now she is going to have courage aide and that
<v Speaker 1>and then courage Aid comes out to do the promo
<v Speaker 1>with now courage aide. Coury j Aid looks great. She's
<v Speaker 1>extremely good looking. She looks the part, but her promo
<v Speaker 1>skills she needs work. Like Roxannis is choppy times at
<v Speaker 1>times doing the promos. But Kora j aide is very choppy,
<v Speaker 1>and I'd like you to if you haven't seen it yet,
<v Speaker 1>I'd like you to watch it and just let me
<v Speaker 1>know if you think that I'm right, because it was
<v Speaker 1>just awkward. You know, it was very awkward, and then
<v Speaker 1>unfortunately you've got well, we'll talk about it in a second.
<v Speaker 1>I'm jumping ahead. I apologize. So she's talking to the Cory.
<v Speaker 1>J talks about singing home, hearing how everybody talks about
<v Speaker 1>the women's division, and not giving her enough props when
<v Speaker 1>she came back. She wanted to make sure that everyone
<v Speaker 1>paid for forgetting about courage aid. No one saw it
<v Speaker 1>coming that she cost Julia the match, including even Roxanne.
<v Speaker 1>Jade used to be the young girl trying to make
<v Speaker 1>it at an NXT, but the woman she is now
<v Speaker 1>is the woman who will make NXT, who will make NXT. Yeah, okay.
<v Speaker 1>Roxanne deserves to be champion and that is her version
<v Speaker 1>that she always wanted her to be. So she talks
<v Speaker 1>a little bit about it, and then all of a sudden,
<v Speaker 1>Julia's music hits. Now I forgot to mention earlier there
<v Speaker 1>was an interview done with with Julia, and in the
<v Speaker 1>middle of this you know in the beginning of the ending,
<v Speaker 1>before Julie Reeling got to talk, somebody walked in the
<v Speaker 1>room that you couldn't see and she's like, Julia is
<v Speaker 1>ah my old friend, and then they cut, so we
<v Speaker 1>didn't know who the old friend was. Come to find out,
<v Speaker 1>Julia comes out and before she hits the ring, Stephanie
<v Speaker 1>Ricord's music comes out and the two of them come
<v Speaker 1>out and just start beating on Roxanne and Cora, and
<v Speaker 1>at the end, both of them picked up the belt
<v Speaker 1>that Roxanne left in the ring. Roxanne and Cora were
<v Speaker 1>outside the ring, both of them picked up the belt
<v Speaker 1>upside down. I just I noticed that. I thought that
<v Speaker 1>was kind of weird and just stared at them. I
<v Speaker 1>don't know it was it was weird. I just I
<v Speaker 1>didn't understand exactly what that was all about. So they
<v Speaker 1>had they hold they hold the championship together. I don't know,
<v Speaker 1>it was kind of weird. Backstage, no quarter Catcher then
<v Speaker 1>approaches Lexus King, who is watching the match with Ora
<v Speaker 1>Mensa back on tablet. King Lexus King asked for some advice.
<v Speaker 1>Charlie Dempsey suggested an Admiral Lord Mount Evans Rules, which
<v Speaker 1>is a Gentleman's Battle of Sorts. So I've never heard
<v Speaker 1>of that. I'm sure they'll explain it next week. But
<v Speaker 1>next week there will be there will be another match
<v Speaker 1>between Oramensa and Lexus King, and it will be the
<v Speaker 1>let me sure I get this right, Admiral Lord mount
<v Speaker 1>Evans Rules. So yeah, I guess it's something that was
<v Speaker 1>in England, because if anybody doesn't know, Charlie Dempsey is
<v Speaker 1>the son of Stephen Regal, William Regal whatever his name is,
<v Speaker 1>and so and obviously he's from England. So anyway, the
<v Speaker 1>next match after that is the North American title match
<v Speaker 1>between between Obafemi the Champion and Tony di'angelo the challenger.
<v Speaker 1>And this match was it was okay, some really cool spots.
<v Speaker 1>Uh Well, at one point Obafemi goes out and starts
<v Speaker 1>talking smack to the family and he pushes I think
<v Speaker 1>he pushes. He pushes one of them and then oh
<v Speaker 1>my god, I can't remember her name, Rizzo falls over.
<v Speaker 1>Rizzo gets pushed and falls over, and Tony just snaps.
<v Speaker 1>But it was weird. So he snaps and he starts
<v Speaker 1>beating the crap out of Obafemi, and but then he
<v Speaker 1>starts getting beat up himself again. At one point though,
<v Speaker 1>it was really cool. They were on the far side
<v Speaker 1>of the ring by the announcer's table and Tony D'Angelo
<v Speaker 1>takes Obafemi and gives him a spinebuster through the announced table,
<v Speaker 1>which was really cool. Then they get back on the ring.
<v Speaker 1>He does another spinebuster in the ring and then doesn't
<v Speaker 1>get him covered. Obafemi like hulks up for a second,
<v Speaker 1>goes to choke slam Tony D'Angelo and he does a
<v Speaker 1>sunset flip during the choke slam and zesty pins him.
<v Speaker 1>You know what his zesty pin is is when you
<v Speaker 1>kind of like fold the person in half and stand
<v Speaker 1>over their legs. That's called that a zesty pin and
<v Speaker 1>gets to win, and Tony D'Angelo is now you're a
<v Speaker 1>new North American champion. Now, Tony D'Angelo. His character work
<v Speaker 1>top notcher. I never particularly care for the whole Rocky
<v Speaker 1>thing when they were like trying to get him like
<v Speaker 1>not be scared quote unquote of Obafemi, But generally speaking,
<v Speaker 1>I love his work. I'm an Italian American myself. I

<v Speaker 1>deserves that title now. Obami, hardly anybody thought he was
<v Speaker 1>going to lose anytime soon, and he did. Why, I
<v Speaker 1>honestly think that they're starting to groom him to go north,
<v Speaker 1>to go to the w w A. Eventually they're either
<v Speaker 1>they're either gonna a put the n XT title on
<v Speaker 1>him within the next year and then move him up,
<v Speaker 1>or they're just gonna say, you know what, he's ready
<v Speaker 1>to go. I think that's gonna happen sooner than later.
<v Speaker 1>My own personal opinion, but I think the main roster
<v Speaker 1>needs an Oba Femi type character, somebody who's big, who's scary.

<v Speaker 1>to go on one show or the other, it would
<v Speaker 1>be SmackDown because and and to to basically be an
<v Speaker 1>to come in as an as a US title contender,
<v Speaker 1>only because Ross still right now has Bronson Reid, Bronstrowman,
<v Speaker 1>like they have the big guys. They don't really need him,
<v Speaker 1>but I honestly think he would be great and SmackDown
<v Speaker 1>just a personal thought. So anyway, Oba Femi loses the title,
<v Speaker 1>Tony D'Angelo is the North American champion, and then next
<v Speaker 1>week they're planning on doing a celebration. I don't understand.
<v Speaker 1>I don't understand. They seem to do this every week,
<v Speaker 1>every time there's a title change, especially on a especially
<v Speaker 1>on on a regular show that they do this. They
<v Speaker 1>do a celebration, like did it with jay Uso recently
<v Speaker 1>with the intercontinental title. They did the celebration with when
<v Speaker 1>when Chase U won the tag team titles, and then
<v Speaker 1>they did a celebration the week after and they ended
<v Speaker 1>up losing them that show. Anyway, but it was a
<v Speaker 1>decent match. I like the match. I like the result.
<v Speaker 1>Oba's He's Obami did not lose anything by losing this match.
<v Speaker 1>He's still amazing, he still lowesome, and he's still gonna
<v Speaker 1>kick him butt just a matter of where. That's what
<v Speaker 1>I think it's just a matter of where. Then backstage,
<v Speaker 1>Colonne Jordan tells Bianca and Jade that she appreciates them
<v Speaker 1>having their back, and I mentioned this early, but she
<v Speaker 1>has it from here. They interrupted. They're interrupted by Jakara
<v Speaker 1>Jackson and Lash Legend, who want a tag team title shot,
<v Speaker 1>and they said if they want a match, they need
<v Speaker 1>to come to SmackDown. So on Friday, as I said before,
<v Speaker 1>on Friday, there's a tag team title match. And let
<v Speaker 1>me tell you, if you've never seen lash Legend, like
<v Speaker 1>Jakata Jackson, she's okay. If you've never seen lash Legend,
<v Speaker 1>she is a beast. She's amazing, and to be honest,
<v Speaker 1>I'd love to see her against against like a Ria
<v Speaker 1>at some point. But if you don't watch SmackDown, which
<v Speaker 1>I mean you must watch SmackDown. If you're watching NXT,
<v Speaker 1>I'm assuming you watched SmackDown, but check out that match
<v Speaker 1>just because his Lash Lash and then Bianca and Jade
<v Speaker 1>Cargo will be I think it has has a chance
<v Speaker 1>to be freaking amazing. Okay. Then backstage, Lolavice wants able
<v Speaker 1>to give her a match with Jada Parker, and then
<v Speaker 1>we get a returning Nikita Lions, who I feel like
<v Speaker 1>she returns every few months. Hopefully this time she won't
<v Speaker 1>get hurt again, and she has an appointment with Ava
<v Speaker 1>during the show again, which again there's one hundred and
<v Speaker 1>sixty six hours of the week aside from the two
<v Speaker 1>hours that aside from the two hours that Negata next
<v Speaker 1>t is on why do you have to have a
<v Speaker 1>meeting during the show? But anyway, I guess it's just
<v Speaker 1>I'm a cynical. I think I'm kind of like mad
<v Speaker 1>and like both cynicals when it comes to stuff like that. Anyway,
<v Speaker 1>So basically, Ava says, you know what, we were here
<v Speaker 1>to talk about Nikita's first match back, So it looks
<v Speaker 1>like it's going to be Lolavice. So next week there'll
<v Speaker 1>be a match between Nikita Lions and Lolovice and that
<v Speaker 1>should be a great match. I love Lolavice and Nikita
<v Speaker 1>Lyons is fairly good too. I mean, I'm playing it down.
<v Speaker 1>Then we have the NXT Tag Team Championship match between Phraxium,
<v Speaker 1>which again Nathan Fraser and Axiom against a town down
<v Speaker 1>Under and this match listen, there's never there's never a
<v Speaker 1>bad match between when when it comes to Nathan Fraser,
<v Speaker 1>and Axiom. They are, They're amazing. The stuff that they
<v Speaker 1>do was freaking amazing. And A Town down Under came
<v Speaker 1>down from SmackDown to put them over, and they did,
<v Speaker 1>and they made Phraxium look great. Phraxium already look great,
<v Speaker 1>but they made them look more, great, greater. Whatever it was,
<v Speaker 1>it was great. What are they gonna do? I don't
<v Speaker 1>know that. I know that they say this about every show,
<v Speaker 1>but the tag team division on every single show is
<v Speaker 1>so they're so not good right now? Who is Phraxiem
<v Speaker 1>gonna face? Chase University is out there fighting with Rich
<v Speaker 1>Holland talk about that in a second, and what other
<v Speaker 1>like Hank and Tank? No, No, who are they gonna fight?
<v Speaker 1>Who are they gonna face? I look forward to seeing
<v Speaker 1>this because right now I don't really see who they
<v Speaker 1>can face anyway. End of the match, Phraxium ends up
<v Speaker 1>defeating a Town down Under. So it was a pretty
<v Speaker 1>decent match. Like I said, it was a good things.

<v Speaker 1>then we have Sexy Red come out. I'm not gonna
<v Speaker 1>go through this again. I don't like the whole thing.

<v Speaker 1>between oh oh yes, yeah, oh then yeah, then the
<v Speaker 1>match between Randy Orton and Javon Erin Jevon Evans. To
<v Speaker 1>be honest, I love Javon Evans. Obviously, Randy's the goat.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, I know they called John Scenea the goat,
<v Speaker 1>but I like Randy better. I like his character better.
<v Speaker 1>That's just me. I mean, don't get me wrong, love
<v Speaker 1>John Cena two, but it's Randy. Finally. I finally got
<v Speaker 1>to see him in person a couple couple of months
<v Speaker 1>ago at Wellhegan Son in Connecticut, Like I've never seen
<v Speaker 1>him in person before. Dude's huge. Anyway, this match was
<v Speaker 1>just okay. Randy kind of like kind of walked through
<v Speaker 1>the match. I would say, I'm not you know, Javon
<v Speaker 1>tried to do the crazy moves that he does. The
<v Speaker 1>match ended where Javon Evans was trying to do this
<v Speaker 1>this flippy move that he does off the top rope,
<v Speaker 1>and the idea was that Randy Orton was supposed to
<v Speaker 1>catch him while he did the flippy move and put
<v Speaker 1>him in a an r KO and they both missed.
<v Speaker 1>I mean it wasn't like Randy missed. It wasn't like
<v Speaker 1>he like Javon missed. They both missed, and it just
<v Speaker 1>got completely screwed up. Then Randy basically and so it
<v Speaker 1>was supposed that was supposed to be the end of
<v Speaker 1>the match, was supposed to be the RKO. Clearly he
<v Speaker 1>was supposed to try to do the r k O.
<v Speaker 1>When he did it, it didn't work out, so that
<v Speaker 1>Randy basically picks him up and says screw this and
<v Speaker 1>just gives him a regular r KO, wins the match,
<v Speaker 1>and Javon Evans, Jovon Evans had a good showing. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>it's Randy freaking Orton, like, come on, but Javon heavens
<v Speaker 1>Evans had a good showing, which then the the after
<v Speaker 1>that match, the very last thing that happened was there
<v Speaker 1>was a another backstage segment to end the show between
<v Speaker 1>Ava and Ethan Paige, and Ava informed Ethan, Page and
<v Speaker 1>Wesley that they will have a Number One Contenders match
<v Speaker 1>next week and that Javon Evans will also be there
<v Speaker 1>because of the performance he just gave. I don't think
<v Speaker 1>the kind of thing he couldn't have done to not
<v Speaker 1>get this obviously, and so it'll be a three man
<v Speaker 1>triple threat match and the winner will face Trick Williams
<v Speaker 1>at Halloween Havoc on October twenty seventh. That brings me
<v Speaker 1>to something I just wanted to tell you. I'm doing
<v Speaker 1>the NXT reviews every week for Matt for the WWE podcast,
<v Speaker 1>and I'm also going to be reviewing the nxtpls. So
