But now that he's a former member of Congress, there can be no congressional investigations into him. That being said, get ready Eric for investigations in Manhattan, Alameda County, and as we just found out today, Los Angeles County, because Eric's Wallwell has been a bad boy. So last night we found out that there was going to be a press conference with another accuser in Beverly Hills. Turns out they're being represented by Lisa Bloom and I did not expect it to be as dark as this one was, but we're going to play for you. The press conference that happened just a few hours ago, because everyone needs to hear the latest allegations against now former Congressman and former candidate for governor Eric Swalwell. Many overlapping instances here well. And one of the things that we found out the initial rumors about a week and a half ago that were coming out from that one influencer is one of her friends was one of the ones that was solicited by Swallwell on Snapchat, and that's why she put out that video saying, Hey, watch out, there's stuff that you don't know about this guy. And she said this morning on CBS Mornings, how many different women who we haven't heard all of their stories yet immediately reached out to her DMS and was like, Oh, I have a story, Oh I have a story. He's been doing this for a very, very, very long time, and I'm sure a lot of these women were under the impression they were the only one. Now, think about this for a second. When we knew that allegations would be coming out against Eric Swalwell, we talked to many people in the business. We talked to many people in the industry. I had heard about a specific story. I know that Michael Trechio, who is the Democratic consultant who's been affiliated with Antonio via Ragosa, heard of a story. Others I've talked to heard of a and when the first one came out, that wasn't the one that any of us had heard about before, which means there's probably a million in one out there.

Oh yeah, and now you look at TMZ. TMZ is covering Washington DC. Now they have a Washington DC bureau. Donald Trump was someone who had a primetime television show before he got involved in politics. For many people, you look at the cable news channels, people watch those all day. For many people out there, politics is entertainment. Politics is sport. Politics is something that you watch a night to wind down, not to learn about what's going on in the world. You have your heroes, you have your villains, and for people who want to get into Hollywood, that was the way frequently they did it the casting couch, and that goes back all the way to the old days of Hollywood, when the talkies were going on, before we had sound and before we had modern motion pictures. You look at what's going on right now in politics and you see many of those same situations overlap where they look at these people not as politicians, not as lawmakers, but as celebrities, people who have proximity to power, people who have proximity to other celebrities, and those relationships are cachet. Those relationships are currency, and if you don't have those relationships, it's very difficult for you to have a career in the business. And they understand this. So even though they understand someone as a bad person or a predator an abuser, however you want to call him, that relationship is still something that from their point of view, should be preserved because if that relationship isn't preserved, they have no access to power. Well, and a lot of them firmly believe that if they spoke up that their careers would be destroyed, and they may not be believed, and they would burn every possible bridge there is. And that's a real thing.

A lot of these stories are not that old, and even the ones that are older, this one we're talking about twenty eighteen, but the statute of limitations for these kinds of crimes has been extended. But the one in Manhattan was only two years ago, in twenty twenty four. There is a lot of credible evidence here. This is not going to go well for him. Are they building condos? He had no clue that the Capital Annex project was going on, something that has been going on in that town for a long time, something that's been all over the news, something that's been mired in controversy, certainly a political issue that is being debated on a daily basis in Sacramento. He had no clue that was going on. He was running for governor because he saw an opportunity to accumulate more power and more celebrity. Now go back to where he announced that he was going to run for governor. He didn't do it at a campaign rally. He didn't do it on a network that covers politics or a show that covers politics. He did it on Jimmy Kimmel. He was presented as a superhero in the resistance, as a superhero in the anti Trump movement, and because he was framed that way, people responded positively to him. Someone who knows absolutely nothing about California had a very decent shot, if you believe the betting markets, had a more than reasonable shot and becoming the next governor of the state of California. And part of the reason that that was allowed to happen is that no one seems to care that this guy was of poor moral quality. No one seemed to care that he knew nothing. They knew that he was a celebrity in the resistance, and that was enough for them. Well, if that's the criteria that you judge people on, don't be surprised when you learned that this is what's going on. Behind closed doors. And I do believe this is what's going on behind closed doors. We've had too many stories that are too similar for me to believe that these are just people who are making it up. And you look at where these allegations are coming from. These allegations are coming from Democratic women who were involved in democratic politics. This woman thought about running for office. The other woman in the San Francisco Chronicle she was a professional Democratic political operative. It's just really it turns your stomach to read these details and to hear these details, and to know that this guy was almost put in charge of our state. For heaven's sake, he could have been the CEO of the state of California, and had they not come out, that's probably what would have happened. It's wild and more are coming. So from the point of view of what will impact the election, he's yesterday's news. But you just can't stop these stories from popping up right and left, because it looks like more are on the way. Honestly, if a Katie Porter video dropped today, it would be really we would cover it because John will giggle, but it would not get nearly the attention that you think it would unless it was something on the level of what was just reported today with Swalwell.
