Speaker 1: You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox Sports Radio. Final hour on this Tuesday. Reggie Miller will stop my He's all fired up, got strong opinion on Dan Hurley. Also the meltdown by Duke and he wants to tell us who his MVP is this year. That'll be in about twenty minutes from now. This weekend, NBC and Peacock PGA Tour, It's TPC San Antonio. The Valero Texas Open coverage begins Saturday three thirty Eastern, followed by the final round on Sunday at two thirty on NBC and Peacock, which is where you can see this program. Thank you for downloading the app. We say good morning to our radio affiliates around the country. iHeartRadio, Fox Sports Radio as well. Seaton Poll question for the final hour of this previously award nominated program.

00:00:50
Speaker 2: Will you say good barding everybody?

00:00:54
Speaker 3: We've got two up there right now? How present will Tiger Woods be at the Masters? Seventy five percent of the and say he won't be there at all, Just ten percent say that he'll play. Decent amount of people say he might be there for some events. I think that's kind of where he's going I think he's going to show up, but yeah, the things he has to do. Final four betting lines. The Illinois is now two and a half over Yukon was one and a half yesterday, and Michigan against Arizona. Michigan is still favored by one and a half eight seven seven three DP Show operator Tyler sitting by. He'll take your phone calls. The NFL league meetings are going on as we speak. And it was a year ago at this time we were talking about the Tush push and I thought they were going to eliminate it because the Eagles winning a Super Bowl, nobody can stop it, Nobody wants to see it. And then all of a sudden, they were worried about player safety, the esthetics of the game. You know, they were giving you all kinds of building reasons why they had to get rid of this play.

00:02:00
Speaker 1: Haven't heard much about the Tush push, have you. Eagles don't win the Super Bowl, all of sudden, defenses doing a little better job in stopping Jalen Hurts coming off the edge, making sure they get a good pop on him. They're not even voting on it this year. What happened about the safety of the game. They were trying to make up something. Last year, it was the topic at the NFL owner's meetings.

00:02:29
Speaker 2: This year, not a peep.

00:02:33
Speaker 1: It's a topic that is not a topic at the NFL owners meetings. But it's because they know it's here. Maybe it's not going to be used as much. Maybe defenses have figured it out a little bit more so than when we first start.

00:02:48
Speaker 2: You know, we first saw this, but they.

00:02:50
Speaker 1: Were trying to get information on players' safety, and there it wasn't There wasn't anything there. They were trying to make up something to get rid of the play. Oh aesthetically, you're right. Esthetically it's not pleasing. But the Eagles figured out something before anybody else did. I can't penalize them because they figured out something and you didn't. Now you need to figure out something and see what the Eagles do. But the percentage of tush pushes and success are down. Therefore, nobody's worried about ruining the integrity of the game. I can't even watch that tush push. But if the Eagles had won the Super Bowl this past year, ah, tush push would be on the agenda. Do you imagine the Eagles win the Super Bowl and a tushpush.

00:03:37
Speaker 2: Oh my god, people will be apoplectic over there.

00:03:42
Speaker 4: Yes, Pauline, I have a couple other things that the committee will vote on this coming week. The first one is off the on side kick. The original rule in twenty twenty four limited on side kicks to only the fourth quarter when a team is trailing and they have to announce it. It's almost shocking that they made this rule. This new tweak would say you could do the on side kick at any point during the game. Now it doesn't say you have to declare. I think you still have to declare because the other team lines up one way, you line up one way. So but it could be any point during the game. Not a surprise, but better. And the other rule would be they're calling this one no offense. The DK Metcalf rule. If a player on the sidelines gets into an altercation with a fan like DK Metcalf, did I think that was Detroit. He did not get penalized because the refs on the field didn't see that. If the sky judge sees something like this, the player could be ejected from the game or penalized. That's on the books to vote on.

00:04:43
Speaker 2: Okay, Yes, Todd.

00:04:45
Speaker 5: I'm with Paul.

00:04:46
Speaker 6: Any rule we have to share your strategy that is just insane.

00:04:48
Speaker 2: How did that ever, how was that ever a thing?

00:04:50
Speaker 6: That's sause I'm throwing a fastball here, or we're going to pass, I'm throwing a screen pass.

00:04:53
Speaker 7: Just want to let you know, Yeah, just get.

00:04:56
Speaker 1: Rid of it, like I I mean, I know you want the on side kick there, but the fact that I have to tell you what's happening, and even you know the movement on the on side kick. They don't want collisions. I understand that it's tough in football. Yes, it is a violent sport. I know they don't want it to be even more violent, but the hey, we're going to do an on sidekick, I don't know. One of the greatest plays in Super Bowl history on sidekick by the Saints.

00:05:26
Speaker 2: Yes, Bully, here's the issue.

00:05:27
Speaker 4: The new dynamic kickoff has one lineup, one setup, and when you declare for an onside kick, it's a completely different setup. So you have to have the declaration because they know what you're doing. But there's no talk about them getting rid of the ethic. Even though the percentage I think is four percent.

00:05:44
Speaker 1: We're converted, Okay, The toush push isn't aesthetically pleasing. Neither is this onside kick formation. It's not esthetically pleasing. I mean, I'll take the regular kick off.

00:05:55
Speaker 2: All right.

00:05:56
Speaker 1: We've gotten used to it. We get some movement there, We've had some you know, turns. Percentages are up for the returns there.

00:06:04
Speaker 4: Yes, Paul, I have a solution, as I always do. Good idea, bad idea. You want to cut down on collision or people getting collided into on an on side kick. One defender, one return guy. Those are the only two people in the play. The kicker kicks it and whoever gets it. You cut down on people getting hit just two dudes.

00:06:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, but the field's too big for that one guy.

00:06:26
Speaker 4: Good times though.

00:06:27
Speaker 1: Yeah. The NFL league meetings, though, I think they wrap up today, But I don't think anything is front and center on the agenda. It feels like it's it's global domination. The flag football is you know, still a big deal because that that can give you global entry into certain countries that aren't ready to have tackle football, you know, having the infrastructure for that, having the equipment for that, you can play flag football. These NFL teams are going to have their countries. You know, maybe they play their games there. Maybe there's flag football game that's played prior to the NFL game. There's a lot of different things that the NFL is trying to do. And you know, games all you know, every day of the week. Now we're going to Australia. I mean, we're going to the four corners? Is it the four corners of the Earth? Checking you just want to make it see that's the same. Okay, Yeah, I didn't know how many quarters there are corners.

00:07:29
Speaker 4: There are no corners.

00:07:30
Speaker 1: There are no corners on the Earth. Yeah, less unless you're a flat earther. Nless, you're a globist in that there's no corners.

00:07:36
Speaker 2: But didn't one of the astronauts send a picture.

00:07:39
Speaker 1: Somebody sent a picture recently just to say, if you're a flat earther, this should change all of that the picture.

00:07:46
Speaker 2: That was sent.

00:07:46
Speaker 1: And I'm like, I don't know, I never understood that with flat earthers, Like what happens when you get to the end of the Earth.

00:07:55
Speaker 4: Remember we had this discussion, what is the town that's on the edge?

00:07:58
Speaker 2: Yeah?

00:07:59
Speaker 3: Yes, See the Internet is loaded with videos of people attempting to prove the Earth is flat and only proving that it's round, and it's they're the best videos to watch because they're like, see, I'm telling you, when you fire this like laser, it's gonna go straight on forever.

00:08:14
Speaker 2: And they're like, Jimmy, you should be able to see that.

00:08:16
Speaker 3: You're so far away, and they're like, I can't see it, and be like, all right, we'll move it up a little bit, move it up a little bit, move to Oh well, that's weird. I guess the only way that could happen is if the Earth is round.

00:08:25
Speaker 2: It's the best, they're the best videos.

00:08:27
Speaker 1: But who came to the conclusion And then others go, man, you're right, yes, Todd, Is there any has anyone.

00:08:33
Speaker 6: Ever fallen off like a cliff the edge of the earth, like you could be in the back of a supermarket and you go a little past the parking lot and just fall forever out the end. What do you think I'm gonna say, No, So I don't know what these flat earthers are showing unless you have evidence of at least one person physically falling off the Earth when it comes to an end.

00:08:50
Speaker 7: If it's like a.

00:08:51
Speaker 1: Square, whatever you do when you're at whole foods. Don't go out the back door because then you're gonna fall off.

00:08:57
Speaker 3: They see, we are about to get just oh, I know delusive.

00:09:03
Speaker 2: Staying in your lane. I know content right now.

00:09:05
Speaker 1: I know I stay in my lane when I go around the globe.

00:09:11
Speaker 2: You stay in that lane all the way.

00:09:13
Speaker 5: I can.

00:09:13
Speaker 1: I can keep going round and round and around. Yes, yes, I look back at this.

00:09:18
Speaker 4: At fifth century BC, the Greeks speculated that the Earth was round. Before that, all flat people thought.

00:09:26
Speaker 6: Yes, But if there's an actual person in space, if NASA people are proving with photos they're actually up there out there showing that it's round, what person that says you know that it's flat has any kind of proof? You would think a space person would have a better idea as to what it looks like.

00:09:40
Speaker 2: It could be fake news. They could all in on it. Yeah, it could be Ai. Yeah, who was the video of.

00:09:46
Speaker 3: I don't remember if it was like buzz Aldrin or somebody, but somebody went up to Gosh, I don't remember if it was him or not, but they went up to him like just on the street and we're like, eh, moon landing, it's fake And he punched them right in the mouth.

00:09:56
Speaker 1: I think that was buzz Aldron. I think buzz Aldron. Who just I think he just died recently. Buzz Aldron was all business, there were no nonsense, yeah, BAULI.

00:10:07
Speaker 4: September two, buzz Aldrin, leaving the Beverly Hills Hotel, got confronted by a conspiracy person and dropped him. There should be a law. You land on the moon, you could punch out one person.

00:10:18
Speaker 2: And I think that's only fair, Yes, Tom.

00:10:20
Speaker 5: What is the motivation to prove one way or the other?

00:10:22
Speaker 2: What do you win?

00:10:22
Speaker 6: You win like a teddy bear? What do you get if you prove one way the other? Whether it's a round globe or a square globe? What does it even matter what it is?

00:10:29
Speaker 1: Your questions are really difficult to answer.

00:10:32
Speaker 6: But that's what's so silly. People are so passionate about something that doesn't even matter. Who cares if it's a triangle or a rhombus? What does it matter what their globe is shaped?

00:10:39
Speaker 8: Light?

00:10:39
Speaker 5: I don't get it.

00:10:40
Speaker 1: Well, they think that we didn't land on the moon.

00:10:43
Speaker 4: Buzz Aldrin still alive. Oh he is, But that's great news. It's better than the other way.

00:10:48
Speaker 1: Yes, your next oh man, I know he had a younger girlfriend.

00:10:54
Speaker 4: Well, they're all younger girls. Buzz Aldrin ninety six and rolling rushing.

00:11:00
Speaker 2: Did he lose his wife recently? And god, I shouldn't be doing this line.

00:11:05
Speaker 4: Can you imagine like you got to take out the garbage? I was just on the moon.

00:11:08
Speaker 3: Yes, you're about to get knocked in the nose too for all that. Don't run into buzz anytime.

00:11:13
Speaker 1: Soon, buzz saw. Uh, James and I ow Todd Seeman, get buzz.

00:11:17
Speaker 2: Aldron to join us.

00:11:19
Speaker 1: I'm on the case, all right, buzz him. You know what bracket challenge next year?

00:11:24
Speaker 2: Buzz? Yeah, he's Aldrin on that.

00:11:27
Speaker 4: Oh yes, Paul buzz Aldrin. Four wives he's.

00:11:33
Speaker 1: On at the same time he's outlived all of them.

00:11:36
Speaker 4: Yeah, he's had four wives though.

00:11:39
Speaker 1: And he had one on the moon. You would see her. You know, I'm not gonna be back for a while, hunt Booty call. Uh, that's good. Good James and Iowa, Hi James, what's on your mind?

00:11:55
Speaker 8: Hey, good morning fellas. First of all, how this year didn't you guys can get nominated for a sports on me?

00:12:02
Speaker 2: I will never know.

00:12:03
Speaker 9: Uh.

00:12:04
Speaker 8: Secondly, you were asking about the move for Danny Hurley, and I think they call that the peacock. You know, you got the big guy who like six his chest out tries to go bumping into people like he's showing off. Like I've heard it's called he's trying to peacocky.

00:12:20
Speaker 1: Yeah, I think, yeah he was. He was peacocky. He's like a Mick Jagger that he was peacocking there. But thank you, James. Let's see Uncle Pease PiZZ Uncle PiZZ.

00:12:36
Speaker 10: Uncle Pizza Dan. But thank you. M.

00:12:39
Speaker 2: Tyler left off the A. Tyler, you left off the A. You put p I z Z. I'm PiZZ off at you.

00:12:51
Speaker 10: Go ahead. I'm sorry real quick though. I just wanted to jump in real quick on the Los veg jumping on this Las Vegas name. I have two of them for you all to know about. Well, we go without ps and we go with the Las Vegas double down, or we just go with the original baby Las Vegas mobsters.

00:13:08
Speaker 1: Oh I'm sure the NBA would love that. Bring in the mobsters.

00:13:13
Speaker 2: Uh.

00:13:14
Speaker 1: Fresh in Milwaukee? Hi Fresh, what's on your mind?

00:13:18
Speaker 11: What's up, guys?

00:13:18
Speaker 8: How y'all doing today?

00:13:20
Speaker 2: Great? Fresh?

00:13:21
Speaker 11: Got a question with a dilemma. If you take all the NBA players and put them in my positions, all shooting guards, all top five, all shooting guards, all guards my position, what position wins the championship?

00:13:39
Speaker 1: So if I have all centers, all power forwards, all yes, so point guards, who wins?

00:13:47
Speaker 10: Yes?

00:13:48
Speaker 1: Oh okay, I'll give that some thought. Fresh I'll ask, oh, ask Reggie uh Dave in South Dakota. Then we'll take a break, make way for Reggie Hey, Dave.

00:14:00
Speaker 12: Hey Dan, Good morning everybody, five ten and from three point thirty two and now one point seventy five.

00:14:10
Speaker 7: Say.

00:14:10
Speaker 12: The reason I say my weight that way is I had guessed bypass surgery about twenty years ago and discovered, after losing all the weight that I had some back pain that I've been managing. And that brings me to the Tiger Woods situation. It seems like, now listen, I will say, maybe I'm not privy to all of the information that even maybe you have, but it seems like there's a little rush to judgment here that because Tiger had medication in his pocket, that there's an addiction problem. I've been taking similar medication for twenty years, and I drive, I.

00:14:46
Speaker 1: Tell you, you haven't had these moments where he is you know, out of it. I mean, I didn't charge him with anything they did. He was driving under the influence. All I'm doing is reading the report.

00:15:00
Speaker 2: Uh.

00:15:02
Speaker 1: He's flipped his car a couple of times. Now, remember the one time he was pulled over his side of the road, couldn't even walk. Yes, you can use these drugs in moderation under doctor's care. He's got hydro codone in his pocket and gets arrested and doesn't you know, take those out of his pocket. All right, let me take a break. Reggie Miller next on The Dan Patrick Show. Speaker 2: More phone calls coming up.

00:16:13
Speaker 1: Grant Hill on the program tomorrow, and Michigan State head coach Tom Izzoo. Reggie Miller was on the call. Nick's Thunder on Sunday Night. Coast to Coast Tuesday presents a doubleheader on NBC in Peacock Tonight, Kevin Durant, the Rockets play host to Jalen Brunson and the Knicks from Houston and eight Eastern on NBC. Reggie there with Mike tar Rico. I'm getting these text messages from you late last night, all these like you're telling me what you want to talk about. You're producing your segment. All right, I'll let you go.

00:16:44
Speaker 5: Like, not at all, we work in conjunction.

00:16:49
Speaker 1: I thought maybe all of a sudden you fell in love with SGA for the MVP, not all of it, or you made your decision that SGA is the m on Sunday night.

00:17:01
Speaker 2: Is that what happened?

00:17:02
Speaker 14: Not only Sunday night, but just watching the game last night in that overtime thriller versus the number one seed in the Eastern Conference Detroit again, I know they were without Kaid, I know they were without Durham. I know they were without Isaiah Stewart. But the Thunder we're missing some pieces as well. Jay Dubb didn't play Isaiah Hartenstein. But who shows up to me? He SGA should be again. And I said this on air on Sunday. There's level to that. There's levels to this. And I am never going to take anything away from Wimby because Wimby deserves and he will be winning these awards.

00:17:44
Speaker 5: For a long time.

00:17:46
Speaker 14: But if we are going to give out the highest award in our game, which is the MVP of the regular season, I get it regular season. I'm going with SGA just for the simple fact minutes play. I mean, I look at Wimby's minutes and they both missed around the same amount of time.

00:18:05
Speaker 5: I believe SGA missed twelve games.

00:18:07
Speaker 14: Winby has missed fifteen games, eight and four without SGA, ten and five without Wimby.

00:18:16
Speaker 5: But for a while there, Wimby was on a minutes researcher.

00:18:20
Speaker 14: Yeah, and if you look at minutes, and this was a wild stat Lebron has played less games than Wimby, but it has more minutes than Wemby.

00:18:31
Speaker 5: Right now, that's the point I'm making.

00:18:33
Speaker 1: Yeah, Wemby's coming off of blood clot and look at the numbers that he put up, and look at the season that they've had. And if we do this, because this is what you know, some of you animals like to do. Yes, certain guys don't play defense. And you know, did any of those animals say anything about James Harden when he was winning MVP that he didn't play right? Nobody said that right now all of a sudden, Luca can't play defense, Joker doesn't play defense.

00:19:02
Speaker 2: Jalen Brunson doesn't play defense.

00:19:04
Speaker 1: Uh, if we're going to use that, then Wemby defensively is an A plus correct Okay, as an offensive player B plus okay, B plus U s G A A.

00:19:19
Speaker 5: A minus B plus.

00:19:21
Speaker 14: He's he's an eight A plus scorer A minus t B plus defender.

00:19:29
Speaker 2: That's B friendly.

00:19:32
Speaker 5: Oh no, No, he was second in steels a year ago on his way to the m v P.

00:19:37
Speaker 1: There are a lot of guys who were up there in steels who aren't great defenders.

00:19:41
Speaker 14: Reg Okay, So are you saying that s GA does not play defense?

00:19:46
Speaker 1: No, I'm saying he's nowhere near what Wemby is.

00:19:51
Speaker 14: He's got an A A plus for Womby in defense, B plus in offense.

00:19:56
Speaker 5: Maybe Eve, I'll give him a minus.

00:19:57
Speaker 1: Okay, all right, I'm just saying, No, he talks about SGA's defense. Nobody Now he might be hoighly rated. Nobody talks about that. But I want to know where the analysts were when James Harden was considered the best player in the game. Yes, and Reggie, James Harden doesn't play defense. Now, he probably was up there in steels. I'll bet you Larry Bird used to be up there in steels. And Larry wasn't a good defender.

00:20:26
Speaker 5: Uh, he was a great cheam.

00:20:31
Speaker 1: Okay, Okay, But I've been saying SGA is the m v P. I think he's going to win the MVP. I think Luca is the best player in the game, and I think.

00:20:41
Speaker 5: The best score in our game.

00:20:42
Speaker 1: I will say that, But he's the best rebounder score in a he's leading in a cyth.

00:20:48
Speaker 5: I would know I think that.

00:20:52
Speaker 2: I mean, that's what I'm saying.

00:20:54
Speaker 1: Jokic is the best best player in the game in my opinion, I agree to Okay, but if if you don't. If Wemby's not getting it this year, he's getting it next year.

00:21:06
Speaker 5: If he plays enough games.

00:21:08
Speaker 2: Yes, yes, but he'll I think.

00:21:10
Speaker 14: From this point forward, SGA will win it. But starting next year, Wemby's on the clock.

00:21:16
Speaker 2: Yeah, if it's.

00:21:18
Speaker 5: The player of the year, he's on the clock to win MVP.

00:21:22
Speaker 14: But also too, can we please see the Spurs in a playoff series?

00:21:26
Speaker 2: I agree?

00:21:27
Speaker 5: I agree, Okay, we're.

00:21:29
Speaker 14: Gonna get the MVP and he hasn't even played one playoff game again regular season, I get it, but I want to see the Spurs in a playoff series.

00:21:37
Speaker 1: But I don't think that MVP regular season should be predicated on how well you've done in the postseason. We did that to Jiannis, we did that to Joker, and I don't think it's fair.

00:21:48
Speaker 2: It's the regular season.

00:21:49
Speaker 1: It's almost as if, what if, what if the Spurs knock out OKC, SGA wins MVP and the Spurs beat OKAC, we can.

00:21:58
Speaker 5: Come back on here and are you of valuable?

00:22:00
Speaker 2: Well, then they've given the MVP to the wrong guy.

00:22:03
Speaker 14: Correct, Well, well guess what, They're on a collision course, so let's find out. All I know is a dude started the season twenty four and one and right now they're eighteen and two. Since the All Star Break again. I know the Spurs are eighteen and two or nineteen and two as well, but I'm leaning towards I'm not leaning.

00:22:26
Speaker 2: I am loaning fine.

00:22:28
Speaker 5: With SGA as the MVP right now.

00:22:30
Speaker 1: All right, you sent me some notes last night. You want to talk MVP Braylan Mullen, shot and Dan Hurley, and then you want to talk about what Duke did wrong. Okay, Let's let's start with what Duke did wrong ten seconds to go. Then we can get to the shot, and then we could get to Dan Hurley.

00:22:49
Speaker 14: And this is why you in practice, whether you're at the grade school level, high school and obviously in college, you work on situational basketball.

00:23:02
Speaker 5: Okay, and knowing time.

00:23:07
Speaker 14: Score a foul situation, there was no reason for Boozer to attempt to throw the ball over.

00:23:14
Speaker 5: I know all of.

00:23:16
Speaker 14: The Yukon Huskies players were going for the steal and all that, but all Cayden had to do was hold on to the basketball escape dribble, dribble left right. They were going to foul him. He did not have to give up that basketball. So knowing time score because they were up to at the time, even if he makes one or two with no timeouts left, it was going to be virtually impossible for Ukoon. But when you give up the basketball, when you attempt all it took was a deflection which happened steal bucket. No one time plays situational basketball. And I'm not saying they don't practice that a duke. Obviously they coach Shire that system. They But when you get caught up in the moment, people don't understand how big some of these moments are. In the heat of the moment, stuff happens, and I feel for the Boozer boys.

00:24:12
Speaker 5: I feel for Carlos.

00:24:15
Speaker 14: It's tough, but I was telling people this too, this too shall pass.

00:24:21
Speaker 2: He's only eighteen, you know tough.

00:24:24
Speaker 1: I felt bad that I felt bad, but I have to give Yukon credit because it was a great defensive play, a pass and Caravan had just made a tough shot. His was going to be contested. You see the trailer. Always worry about the trailer. And he finds Mullins, who has, you know, wide open from thirty seven feet out and he was able to take a jumper.

00:24:49
Speaker 14: And if there's one player on that team that you didn't want to leave open, yeah, was Braylan I mean, arguably the best shooter on that team, even as a fresh and what a moment for him. His dad, Josh, a kid from Indiana. It's it's a Hoosier type ending for them, because that's all we do in Indiana. I'm an adopted Hoosier. So when I say we, I consider myself a Hoosier. That's all those kids do in Indiana is think of moments like that. To you, con Ray, it doesn't matter how they lost, we still claim him. Okay, he gets a chance for a shot like that, to come home to Indiana for.

00:25:37
Speaker 5: The Final four.

00:25:38
Speaker 14: His dad, Josh, his family, Greenfield Central, where he played high school. He was mister Indiana Basketball. All these things were set up for that moment. And by the way, that's a logo shot people. Yeah, I mean that's the thirty five forty foot shot to advance your team to the Final four.

00:26:00
Speaker 5: To you, mister.

00:26:00
Speaker 1: Mullens, Reggie Miller on the program, It'll be the Knicks and Rockets at eight eastern on NBC and on Peacock. Okay, then you have the Dan Hurley moment with Roger Ayres the official, how would you describe it? And if you're the official, what would you have done?

00:26:19
Speaker 5: Wow, what a level.

00:26:23
Speaker 14: Of discretion here by the official, because you can easily make a case. And I am I'm gonna say and sit here and say, I am surprised a technical foul was not called because you could have You could have lost it on that. I understand celebrating, even jumping on the floor because there was still time left in the game and some of the Huskies were on the floor. I've seen technicals fouls called in the college game for that.

00:26:50
Speaker 5: None was given. But the mean bug and the flight. Is it a headbutt?

00:26:58
Speaker 2: No?

00:26:59
Speaker 5: No, not head to head. Oh they were they touching one another.

00:27:03
Speaker 2: But that's not a head butt. You and John might be a.

00:27:07
Speaker 5: Head butt, but he smirked, mean Bud.

00:27:11
Speaker 2: I think they rubbed foreheads.

00:27:13
Speaker 5: Okay, so they had, buddy, They.

00:27:15
Speaker 2: Didn't head but they had rubbed. They met together.

00:27:21
Speaker 5: Very surprised that I was not caught.

00:27:23
Speaker 14: I give the official and officiating crew a lot of credit for swallowing their whistles because as unbelievable moment that was for Braylyn Mullins for Yukon basketball, it could have been mirrored in controversy if that official would have blew the whistle and gave coach Hurley a technical for them, So that would have been two shots from anyone, I assume, yeah, and you could have easily lost that game. Well expressed by the official Theodore, I.

00:28:00
Speaker 1: Think that's two people in a moment, a public moment, who understood each other. Yeah, and that's why nothing was called.

00:28:10
Speaker 14: I think there was history there between that particular official YEP and Dan Hurley, because again, you could easily make a case and far be it from me to support anything that Duke does. Sorry, Grant, but if you're a Duke fan, you could easily make a case that should have been a technical foul.

00:28:32
Speaker 2: Do you hate Duke? No? Did you Duke?

00:28:37
Speaker 14: Duke is They're a lot like the Knicks. They just think they're better than everyone else.

00:28:44
Speaker 5: That's all. They think.

00:28:45
Speaker 14: They're a brand of basketball, their style of basketball, their players are better than they I had this conversation with Billy King all the time, one of my best friends in life, assistant coach with the Pacers, and we just go back and forth all the time about Duke basketball, the brotherhood, and I get it.

00:29:02
Speaker 5: I love them, I love Coach k I love a lot.

00:29:04
Speaker 14: Of the players I've played with a few duke players in my lifetime.

00:29:08
Speaker 5: But they just think they're better than everyone else. And that's what that's why it kind of rubs people the wrong way.

00:29:15
Speaker 1: How can the Knicks feel this way? They don't win anything.

00:29:18
Speaker 5: Oh, they've won, They've been successful.

00:29:21
Speaker 2: Nineteen seventy three.

00:29:23
Speaker 5: They had a good run in the nineties. They had a great run in the nineties.

00:29:27
Speaker 2: They didn't win.

00:29:29
Speaker 5: They went to the finals twice. They knocked on the door, and not everyone could be a champion. Like, all right, we're all on your cotels.

00:29:40
Speaker 1: What what changes will the Knicks make? And they got to make a change.

00:29:46
Speaker 5: Well, can we see how this Okay, all right, okay, lady's out.

00:29:50
Speaker 1: You got you got two guys who were bad defenders in Brunchon and Karl Anthony Towns and in the playoffs, they're just gonna single those out and go ad him.

00:30:02
Speaker 14: Look, I will say this about Brunson. He leads the league and he leads his team in charge.

00:30:08
Speaker 5: Is taken to me.

00:30:10
Speaker 14: That's a form of playing defense. I'm sorry, and you can say what you want about him. I want Jalen Brunson on my team in close moments in playoff basketball, because the dude just has it. So you you can hate on Kat all you want. I'm never gonna hate on Jalen Brunson because you play the thing.

00:30:34
Speaker 1: I love Jalen Brunson. I'm I don't want Carl Anthony Towns. Do you want Carl Anthony Towns? If you're Jalen Brunson, you just answered my question. You just answered my question the pause. You don't want Karl Anthony Towns? Yes, I second option.

00:31:02
Speaker 5: He's a good he's a good player.

00:31:04
Speaker 1: Okay, he's a really good shooters shooter and that's it.

00:31:09
Speaker 5: But at times he does get lost.

00:31:13
Speaker 14: In a lot of times, good teams and great players will find a way to put him in picking rolls in certain situations.

00:31:22
Speaker 5: He's gotten a little bit better, a little bit better.

00:31:26
Speaker 10: I know.

00:31:26
Speaker 1: You got to choose your words carefully because you're running. Yeah, all the Knicks fans out there don't like anyway, so it doesn't matter what you say about Karl.

00:31:38
Speaker 5: They're saying the same thing you and I. Yes, yes, the thing.

00:31:42
Speaker 1: Well, by the way, you got a name for Vegas that the NBA like Seattle still gets the Super soon.

00:31:49
Speaker 14: Yes, I gotta think about that one, because there's a lot of ways we can go with this. What are some of the what are some of the names that are being floated? You know they're not Las Vegas.

00:32:01
Speaker 2: That somebody said the mobsters?

00:32:03
Speaker 5: Oh no, no.

00:32:05
Speaker 1: Okay, here is the suggestion, the Las Vegas strip.

00:32:10
Speaker 5: No, because people are gonna think about strippers.

00:32:13
Speaker 1: No, no, well don't you think about that anyway?

00:32:17
Speaker 2: With Vegas.

00:32:18
Speaker 14: You don't have to be in Las Vegas. No, the Las Vegas. I can't say high rollers.

00:32:25
Speaker 5: No, the Las Vegas.

00:32:26
Speaker 14: I gotta think about this because you could be you could be very creative with this franchise.

00:32:32
Speaker 1: Yeah, but you gotta be careful with the whole gambling thing. I know, even though there's so much game.

00:32:37
Speaker 5: Las Vegas mobsters, really, come.

00:32:40
Speaker 2: On, you're not a gambler, are you not?

00:32:45
Speaker 5: Anymore? I mean I used to play what you play. It's a waste. I know it's a waste. I mean I don't mind going there and playing roulette.

00:32:55
Speaker 14: You know that's like fifty to fifty few numbers out their secret number heads, big dear, did.

00:32:59
Speaker 1: You ever put your jersey number out there?

00:33:01
Speaker 5: Always?

00:33:03
Speaker 14: I go with jersey numbers. I go with kids ages, I go with I go with MJ.

00:33:09
Speaker 5: I go with Michael, I go with Larry. Yeah, wait you there's a block.

00:33:13
Speaker 14: I go with thirty one, thirty two, thirty three, Charles thirty four, like when you're playing roulette. But you know how you you could do a block of numbers. I can't see. This is how bad I am as a gambler. What's it called when you do a block? Or somebody, Polly, you can do a block of numbers.

00:33:28
Speaker 4: You put one chip in four squares.

00:33:30
Speaker 5: On four squares.

00:33:31
Speaker 14: So I would do thirty one, thirty two, thirty three and thirty four and if one of them hit, then we're.

00:33:37
Speaker 5: Going to make it right.

00:33:39
Speaker 1: But you put money on twenty three. Yes, I do, Okay, I have okay, yes, I do it.

00:33:49
Speaker 2: Never hit for me, Mike never hit.

00:33:52
Speaker 5: Mike never hit.

00:33:53
Speaker 1: But it was you and it was magic, Larry and Berry, Yes and Charles thirty four.

00:34:02
Speaker 5: Yes, okay, that's my go to.

00:34:07
Speaker 2: Michael never bet on thirty one, he would never know, he wouldn't there. Or eleven Isaiah, look at you.

00:34:16
Speaker 5: Look at you starting things. Oh I would go ten for my Olympic number. So I would do ten. Eleven I did do Isaiah.

00:34:27
Speaker 14: Twelve was someone famous too, I'm trying to think thirteen I did for Mark Jackson and Dan Marino, so there was blocks.

00:34:33
Speaker 5: I would do.

00:34:35
Speaker 1: Good to talk to you, Love you, love you, Text me again whenever you need.

00:34:40
Speaker 14: To text you in the middle of the n by the way you responding to me, ed sleep are you again?

00:34:46
Speaker 5: I know you're a vampire and all sleep never.

00:34:50
Speaker 1: No, I can't. My mind's racing. You know it's always racing.

00:34:55
Speaker 5: Bye. We're a team. We're a good change.

00:34:59
Speaker 1: Say nice things about Karl Anthony Towns tonight.

00:35:01
Speaker 5: I will, but he's got to rotate, rotate.

00:35:05
Speaker 8: Si that.

00:35:08
Speaker 2: Durant's gonna get thirty.

00:35:12
Speaker 5: I have the Knicks tonight winning.

00:35:14
Speaker 2: Oh you do, okay, okay, all right?

00:35:18
Speaker 1: In Houston, In Houston, Jalen Brunson will take two charges tonight.

00:35:24
Speaker 5: Hey, form of defense.

00:35:26
Speaker 1: Tune in to watch Jalen Brunson take a charge tonight. Karl Anthony Towns to try in the pick and roll.

00:35:34
Speaker 2: That's sen your.

00:35:35
Speaker 5: Hate mail, the Theodore. He's the one that's killing your team. Not me, guys, not me.

I mentioned that I was hoping to hear Dan Hurley talk about the ending of the game when he had his forehead confrontation with the official Roger Ayres And he was on the Triple Option hosted by Urban Meyer, Mark Ingram and Rob Stone, and they asked Dan Hurley about the confrontation with the official.

00:36:49
Speaker 15: Really, at that point in the game, we had it won. And he's such an easy guy to work with during the game that I thought he was coming over to chest bump me to celebrate the shot, you know, because it's like that for me with him, you know, like my experience with him has been.

00:37:05
Speaker 7: You know, we haven't won every game, I haven't agreed to every fall, but.

00:37:08
Speaker 15: His like so that was in no way was that like me and a ref that I had been at there thro the whole game, Like at other points of the game where I had my arm around him walking like out of the time out, you know, we were cracking jokes and laughing that with that situation, now I want at Marquette, you know when I was on my man's neck, you know, screaming into his neck like yeah, I mean that was that.

00:37:30
Speaker 7: Was a guy that's like coming right up to the line and losing his mind. But that was more like the emotion of the shot.

00:37:37
Speaker 15: And this is a cool ass rep back, you know.

00:37:41
Speaker 7: I just like, was were you guys sharing the moment together? No, he was just coming up to tell me, yo, his point three.

00:37:47
Speaker 15: Oh I think I think there's gonna be point three or point four on the clock is what he's saying to me. And I was still so hyped from the shot going in that I was like, you know, like anyone would have walked up on me right there. I was just I love because he came over so fast.

00:38:05
Speaker 1: So that's Danny Hurley and that's the triple option. Who stood by urban Meyer, mark Ingram and Rob Stone. If your hair isn't playing like it did in the twenties, your twenties, it might be time for a comeback here, get rid of the hat. That's not a strategy. Start neutrafold today, make the hat optional. Visit neutrafold dot com enter the promo code. Patrick, I don't know if that cleared anything up. It feels like it. They have a good relationship. He had an out of body experience. The official is saying to him zero point three, and I don't know if Dan Hurley said anything to him, but the fact that he thought he was going to chest bump him. Now maybe he's having fun. I hope he's having fun with that. That would have been really, really awkward if the official will chest bump you.

00:38:56
Speaker 2: Yanes Marvin, Yeah, I didn't see Hurley's mouth moving at all.

00:39:00
Speaker 16: Think he was just so hype and in the moment he had his jacket half off like he was a member of Jobsy and he was just walking around. I was like, this is oh, yes, sorry, yes, he was going crazy and it was like, Whoever's coming up to me? He said at the end of this. At the end of that clip, whoever was coming up to me, I would have done the exact same thing to him.

00:39:18
Speaker 2: This day in sports History.

00:39:19
