<v Speaker 2>Hey, guys, this is Jay. I am coming to you
<v Speaker 2>this New Year's Week and I'm doing the NXT review
<v Speaker 2>and NXT showed this week was on Neear's Eve, and
<v Speaker 2>to be honest, I was kind of surprised that they
<v Speaker 2>were doing a full show. Not only did not only
<v Speaker 2>they did they do a full show, they did it
<v Speaker 2>on New Year's I don't know, I don't think it
<v Speaker 2>was live, but like just the fact that they did
<v Speaker 2>a full, complete show on New Year's Eve was was awesome.
<v Speaker 2>To be honest, I actually thought raw this week was
<v Speaker 2>they were gonna bag it into but apparently this week
<v Speaker 2>they're doing all brand new shows, which is which is
<v Speaker 2>really really good. And I do I do like the
<v Speaker 2>fact that they did this week on the next Team
<v Speaker 2>they did live shows with the you know, live matches
<v Speaker 2>with the awards. To be honest, I thought they were
<v Speaker 2>just gonna do highlights all week long for all the shows.
<v Speaker 2>So so it was it was a good a good thing.
<v Speaker 2>It was really cool. So this is not gonna be
<v Speaker 2>a long review, but just know that I was pleasantly surprised,
<v Speaker 2>very pleasantly surprised by this by this episode. So yeah,
<v Speaker 2>So it came from the Performance Center in Winter Park, Florida. Again,
<v Speaker 2>like last week, they did a tape show from Lowa, Massachusetts.
<v Speaker 2>Next week they're doing New Year's Evil from from la
<v Speaker 2>So this was just a one week in the middle
<v Speaker 2>of all that to be back at the Performance Center.
<v Speaker 2>So anyway we had it was it was a really
<v Speaker 2>great It was a really great episode. I mean, like
<v Speaker 2>I said, it wasn't It wasn't pay per view quality
<v Speaker 2>obviously or pl equalet equality, but you know, they had
<v Speaker 2>a lot of solid matches, even the match that I
<v Speaker 2>even though the one match I wasn't looking forward to,
<v Speaker 2>was actually a lot better than I thought. So that's good.
<v Speaker 2>So we had the first match of the night, which
<v Speaker 2>was Colonie Jordan versus Lola Ice, and this was set
<v Speaker 2>up last week. I was a misunderstanding between Colonie and
<v Speaker 2>Lola and this listen, Lola Ice great, amazing. Colonnie Jordan
<v Speaker 2>is coming up in the in the you know, the
<v Speaker 2>first ever North American women's champion. She's coming up doing well.
<v Speaker 2>Every time you see her, she does even better. I
<v Speaker 2>think she's getting a little bit more of an edge
<v Speaker 2>to her character, which was always good. And this was like,
<v Speaker 2>this was a high quality match. And at the end
<v Speaker 2>of the match. Yeah, at the end of the match,
<v Speaker 2>we had uh let's see oh yeah, so so Jordan.
<v Speaker 2>Colonnie Jordan drives a knee into mid section Advice. Jordan
<v Speaker 2>whips Advice across the ring. I had two forearm knockdowns.
<v Speaker 2>Jordan goes for a cartwheel back elbow. Advice counters with
<v Speaker 2>the rear naked choke. Jordan then drives Vice back into
<v Speaker 2>the canvas so like she dropped. Basically she just dropped
<v Speaker 2>her on her back. And then Cory Jade comes out
<v Speaker 2>and distracts Colonnie Jordan. Jordan shoves Lola of Ice into
<v Speaker 2>Jade and Jade uh and then Jordan connects with the
<v Speaker 2>bridging O'Connor roll to pick up the victory. So Colonie
<v Speaker 2>Jordan wins the match. Great match, It was a great match.
<v Speaker 2>These two cook and it was a great match. After
<v Speaker 2>the match, uh Cory Jade attacks Colonnie Jordan and Lola
<v Speaker 2>Ice with a kendo stick. And let me tell you
<v Speaker 2>some of the the shots that that Coura Jade were
<v Speaker 2>hitting Colonie Jordan and Lola Ice with the kindo sticks
<v Speaker 2>they were. She like like she was swinging for the fences.
<v Speaker 2>Oh my god, Stephanie. But Core comes out, she comes
<v Speaker 2>to the ring and then Vice uh inavertily clocks for
<v Speaker 2>corp with a spinning backfist. So a little tension there
<v Speaker 2>as well. Anyway, Cla Colonie Jordan wins, then there's a
<v Speaker 2>little fatal influence, and Yet basically talks about how they're
<v Speaker 2>gonna roll on XT you know, you know, the same
<v Speaker 2>stuff they always do. Then we had a backstage to
<v Speaker 2>interview with Sarah Schreiber with Cedric Alexander, and so Cedric
<v Speaker 2>Alexander is basically going to avenge He's going to avenge
<v Speaker 2>Javon Evans because if you guys don't remember, a couple
<v Speaker 2>of weeks ago, Ethan Page destroyed Javon Evans face with
<v Speaker 2>a microphone. So this is this is Cedric Alexander avenging
<v Speaker 2>his broken jaw. Apparently he was talking about how his
<v Speaker 2>jaw is broken wired shut. They can't they can't talk,
<v Speaker 2>so they have to text each other in in order
<v Speaker 2>to communicate. But he's the Cedric says he did. Javon's
<v Speaker 2>getting better, being able to be more normally and get
<v Speaker 2>back into the ring, and Ethan Page joins the conversation.
<v Speaker 2>But Page doesn't care that Cedric has text conversations with Javon,
<v Speaker 2>but one of those should reads stay away from Ethan
<v Speaker 2>Page because he's going to put Cedric right next to Javon,
<v Speaker 2>which leads to Cedric and Javon. Cedric and Ethan Page
<v Speaker 2>is beating the crap out of each other going towards
<v Speaker 2>the ring, and it was a match that was supposed
<v Speaker 2>to happen later on that ended up happening right then.
<v Speaker 2>Before they came back to that match, there was a
<v Speaker 2>promo for Julia, who if you don't remember, she's taking
<v Speaker 2>on Roxyanne Perez for the title next week, which I'm
<v Speaker 2>gonna do some uh predictions in the middle of the
<v Speaker 2>of this, I think I said recently, I honestly think
<v Speaker 2>Julia is gonna win. To be honest, I think Julia
<v Speaker 2>is gonna win. She's gonna be NXT Women's Champion up
<v Speaker 2>until Stand and Deliver and the big match Stand and Deliver,
<v Speaker 2>which again if you don't know, is the WrestleMania Weekend match,
<v Speaker 2>the wrestling Mania Weekend event. And for NXT, I think
<v Speaker 2>the big the big match is gonna happen that weekend
<v Speaker 2>is gonna be Julia versus Stephanie Vicaier, which we're all
<v Speaker 2>waiting for. If anybody knows them that you know that
<v Speaker 2>that's gonna be that's gonna be amazing. So then we
<v Speaker 2>have uh, then we have a promo with Joe Hendry.
<v Speaker 2>So Joe Hendry So say he says, say his name,
<v Speaker 2>and he appears. This is TNA Wrestling Superstar Joe Hendry here.
<v Speaker 2>And I just want to give a huge thank you
<v Speaker 2>to the w W universe for voting my NXT debut
<v Speaker 2>as NXT's Moment of the Year. That was just a
<v Speaker 2>magical year and I got to share it with all
<v Speaker 2>of you, and it was a special special because of
<v Speaker 2>the reception that you guys gave me in the building
<v Speaker 2>an online thank you much for your support. And before
<v Speaker 2>I go, I just want to remind you that saying
<v Speaker 2>his name and he appears means anywhere, anytime, any show.
<v Speaker 2>I'm I'm about eighty five to ninety percent certain Joe
<v Speaker 2>Hendry's in the World Rumble, which I can't wait for.
<v Speaker 2>I can't wait to hear the pop that he gets
<v Speaker 2>in Indianapolis. It's the Lucas Oil Stadium. But so, my
<v Speaker 2>friend is actually going on a cruise and it's take
<v Speaker 2>as Chris Jergo aw Cruise, but open up a little
<v Speaker 2>bit more than just aw people. And Joe Hendry is
<v Speaker 2>supposed to be part of that cruise and it's happening
<v Speaker 2>the weekend of the World Rumble, but Joe Hendry is
<v Speaker 2>not joining it until the second of February, which ironically
<v Speaker 2>is the day after the World Rumble. So about ninety
<v Speaker 2>certain Joe Hendry's in the World Rumble, which would be amazing.
<v Speaker 2>I can't wait for it. Okay, So the Match of
<v Speaker 2>the Year content contender this year, who actually would actually
<v Speaker 2>won the Match of the Year for the NXT Awards
<v Speaker 2>was a match between Josh Briggs, Die Jack and Obafemi
<v Speaker 2>in a triple threat match for the North American title
<v Speaker 2>at NXT's Standing and Deliver in twenty twenty four by
<v Speaker 2>the way, if you haven't seen that match, go back
<v Speaker 2>and watch it. Die Jack needs to be back here.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know what happened with him. They just let
<v Speaker 2>his contract run out. Die Jack is awesome. That match
<v Speaker 2>was phenomenal. I'm gonna go back and watch it myself,
<v Speaker 2>I think this week because it's just it's just it
<v Speaker 2>was an amazing match. Moment of the year I said
<v Speaker 2>it was Joe Hendry's debut. Tag Team of the Year
<v Speaker 2>was FHRAXI him because I mean, they were champions the
<v Speaker 2>majority of the year, and they really are. They probably
<v Speaker 2>one of the best tag teams ever in. The next
<v Speaker 2>Female Superstar of the Year was Roxanne Perez, and it
<v Speaker 2>seemed like Male Superstar of the Year was over fet Me,
<v Speaker 2>which he was great, but Trick Williams was the guy
<v Speaker 2>this year. That's just my own personal opinion. So the
<v Speaker 2>second match we had was Ethan Page and Cedric Alexander.
<v Speaker 2>This match ended with Ethan Page, after getting to win,
<v Speaker 2>taking Cedric's hand and slamming it in a toolbox lid
<v Speaker 2>inside of a toolbox. So that was pretty cool. I
<v Speaker 2>love again, I've said this before, I love Eel Heel
<v Speaker 2>Ethan Page, and this is just next level Ethan Page
<v Speaker 2>heel stuff so good, It's so good. After that match,
<v Speaker 2>we have Hanking Tank and they're talking to Tyson Dupot
<v Speaker 2>and Tyreek Iguay and then who's who are also there
<v Speaker 2>with Wesley and West challenges Hank in Tank if they
<v Speaker 2>can find a sixth man or a third man for
<v Speaker 2>their team, which we'll find out who that is later.
<v Speaker 2>Colonie Jordan got into a shoving contest with Stephanie Vcour
<v Speaker 2>after she was starring the Pot with her and Lolavice.
<v Speaker 2>Then Eva informs Corey j that should be fighting Colonie Jordan,
<v Speaker 2>Stephanie Vacor and Lola Ice next week your New Year's Evil.
<v Speaker 2>The winner will become the number one contender for the
<v Speaker 2>w w NXT North American Championship. I think that Cory
<v Speaker 2>Jade will win this match. I don't think I think
<v Speaker 2>Lola Ice eventually ends up going North North. I guess
<v Speaker 2>going to the main roster, and Stephanie's not going anywhere,
<v Speaker 2>and Clooney already had the title, they're not gonna give
<v Speaker 2>it back to her. I honestly think that out of
<v Speaker 2>least four, Coora Jeaide is probably gonna win this and
<v Speaker 2>then go against Felon Henley, who Valon Henley's title reign
<v Speaker 2>as North American Champion has been lackluster, lackluster. I love
<v Speaker 2>the group, I love Fatal Influence, but Falon Henley's title reign,
<v Speaker 2>he just keeps getting lost in the shuffle h third
<v Speaker 2>match we had was a triple threat tag team match
<v Speaker 2>which had Metaphor versus Chance and Carter versus Gigi and Shatzi.
<v Speaker 2>This was a great match. This was a great match.
<v Speaker 2>At the end of the match we had at the
<v Speaker 2>end of the match, we had some interference with one second,
<v Speaker 2>we had some interference with Fatal Influence coming in distracting
<v Speaker 2>Gigi and Shatsi and the Metaphour Girls, who, by the way,
<v Speaker 2>again they're in there there. They need to be up
<v Speaker 2>on the main roster, the two of them, the two
<v Speaker 2>of them gotta taste the main roster. I think they're
<v Speaker 2>only there because Noah Noah am Dar is out injured,
<v Speaker 2>but they are well, all three well, Chance and Carter
<v Speaker 2>already are up there. And then and then after the match,
<v Speaker 2>you had, uh, you had the Unholy Union talking smack
<v Speaker 2>to the Metaphour Girls, like all these tag teams should
<v Speaker 2>be all around. They should be main roster at XT whatever.
<v Speaker 2>There's only one set of tag team titles for all
<v Speaker 2>three shows, so anyway, that's just my omport some opinion.
<v Speaker 2>So nightA four wins by pen and fall. Then Ava
<v Speaker 2>tells Lexus King that there's a gray area when it
<v Speaker 2>comes to the Heritage Cup Championship to the fact that
<v Speaker 2>he won by this qualification and a news evil. Lexus
<v Speaker 2>King will once again battle Charlie Dempsey for the Heritage
<v Speaker 2>Cup Championship, but it's sudden death rules, which is basically
<v Speaker 2>a regular match, and the winner of the regular match
<v Speaker 2>gets the NX two Heritage Cup. So okay, why not?
<v Speaker 2>I think eventually Lexus King, who keeps saying he's doing
<v Speaker 2>the right thing and he keeps getting screwed over, is
<v Speaker 2>gonna use the brass Knox if you get my point.
<v Speaker 2>Fourth match with so Ruka versus is He Dame? This
<v Speaker 2>was listen these two cook I love so Ruka, She's awesome.
<v Speaker 2>Zaria comes down to help motivate sol Ruka, and then
<v Speaker 2>and Sean Spears is standing up in the balcony, Sobroka
<v Speaker 2>tries to do a moon salt to the outside on
<v Speaker 2>is He Dame? And and dizzy Dan polls Zari in
<v Speaker 2>front of in front of so Ruka and Soroka hits
<v Speaker 2>Zaria with the moon salt instead of is he Dame
<v Speaker 2>and is he Dame gets the gets the decision, which again,
<v Speaker 2>this was a great match. All the matches in here
<v Speaker 2>were really good, high quality, excellent matches. The next match
<v Speaker 2>we had was the three man the six man tag
<v Speaker 2>with Wesley, Tyson DuPont and Tyrekaguay versus now Andredy. Hank
<v Speaker 2>and Tank asked Andre Chase if they would help. He
<v Speaker 2>didn't say yes or no before they went to commercial.
<v Speaker 2>But as the as the match started, Andre Chase comes out.
<v Speaker 2>He's looking disheveled, he's looking hum drum, still disappointed at Chase.
<v Speaker 2>University is no more. And this one, again, this was
<v Speaker 2>a high quality match. Like this was the match I thought,
<v Speaker 2>oh man, this is not gonna be as good as
<v Speaker 2>the others. This was actually really good. It was a
<v Speaker 2>really good match. And in the end we had uh
<v Speaker 2>Andre Chase who started getting into the match and then
<v Speaker 2>realized he wasn't there with Chase U and just walked back.
<v Speaker 2>And then Hank and Tank got beat by the other
<v Speaker 2>three just because there was basically at that point it
<v Speaker 2>was a handicap match two against three because Chase just
<v Speaker 2>walked away. So decent match. Like I said, this was
<v Speaker 2>a match I had no not desire, but like it was.
<v Speaker 2>It wasn't on my top list of matches to see,
<v Speaker 2>but it actually ended up being really good with a
<v Speaker 2>little bit of a backstory to which was kind of good.
<v Speaker 2>So your winners were Wesley, Tyson DuPont, and Tyrek Eguay.
<v Speaker 2>They won via pinfall. Then we've got Ashanti the Adonis.
<v Speaker 2>He calls Karmen Petrovitch. He goes right to voicemail, which
<v Speaker 2>we all know what that means. He's probably blocked, as
<v Speaker 2>all of you may have known by now, but that's
<v Speaker 2>the thing.
<v Speaker 1>Uh.
<v Speaker 2>Then the King of Kata Lyons comes up and invites
<v Speaker 2>Ashante to the New Year's Eve party, but Ashanti says
<v Speaker 2>he can't be with Carmen. Then he wants to spend
<v Speaker 2>New Year's Eve. I know the feeling, dude. Then Tony
<v Speaker 2>D'Angelo first, uh Izy Dean comes out. When Sean Spears
<v Speaker 2>tries to talk to Ezy Dame, and Tony D'angelo's like,
<v Speaker 2>she said, I leave her alone, and then Spears says
<v Speaker 2>that he took he took the hint when Santa attacked
<v Speaker 2>the Dawn last week, and a don still Stun tells
<v Speaker 2>Stacks to take care of rich holland then we've got uh,
<v Speaker 2>then we've got a Well, they announced they were gonna
<v Speaker 2>announce the Mail Superstar of the Year, and before Mike
<v Speaker 2>Rome could announce that, ob Femily comes out. He grabs
<v Speaker 2>the the the award is like a is like a bell,
<v Speaker 2>like a ring bell, and he just talks about how
<v Speaker 2>he doesn't care about any awards that you know, he
<v Speaker 2>doesn't do it for people. He does things for himself.
<v Speaker 2>He's the ruler of NXT, like he always says, Poor
<v Speaker 2>Mike Rome, He's just standing there like what do I do?
<v Speaker 2>Like and and uh over Fami, he's like like in
<v Speaker 2>the corner with him, and he just takes the takes
<v Speaker 2>a thing and then microom like this leaves like sk dattles,
<v Speaker 2>which is kind of funny. So then let me starts
<v Speaker 2>to talk and he says, you see, guys, in your
<v Speaker 2>reward or your rewards, don't you guys understand it doesn't
<v Speaker 2>matter who wins Male Superstar of the Year. All this
<v Speaker 2>really is a prop for popularity contests. Honestly, I think
<v Speaker 2>it's laughable that you guys really think that you can
<v Speaker 2>dictate the narrative here at Nxt're gonna be talking to
<v Speaker 2>the crowd because you can voice your own opinions on
<v Speaker 2>social media. It doesn't matter if you boo or you
<v Speaker 2>cheer or you chout woo, it doesn't matter. My performance
<v Speaker 2>remains the same. It's inconsequential. You think you can get
<v Speaker 2>control of something you don't control nothing. The only person
<v Speaker 2>in this building, in this company that gets to control
<v Speaker 2>anything is me, because I'm the ruler. I'm the one
<v Speaker 2>that that directs the narrative. I'm the one who stirs
<v Speaker 2>the stars, stirs the ship interesting. I'm the captain now,
<v Speaker 2>and if you don't believe me, you can tune into
<v Speaker 2>New Year's Evil and witness me become NXT champion. Excuse me?
<v Speaker 2>Trick comes out and says, Obo, why did you come
<v Speaker 2>here with tell these people all kinds of lies? Now?
<v Speaker 2>You can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't
<v Speaker 2>see no problem getting some love for the fans. See,
<v Speaker 2>I've been pretty fortunate since I've been here. The people
<v Speaker 2>show me a lot of love, and I appreciate that,
<v Speaker 2>but don't get it twisted. I know that what we
<v Speaker 2>got next week is a triple thread match Eddie Thorpe
<v Speaker 2>Obafemi trick Williams to win this match. I gotta dig deep, man,
<v Speaker 2>I gotta be ruthless. I need something different. Matter of fact,
<v Speaker 2>I need that old thing back I'm talking about. I
<v Speaker 2>need that trick Curry back. I'm talking about that trick McGrady,
<v Speaker 2>Tricky McGrady, talking about that Michael Trick, that trick James,
<v Speaker 2>that trick Williams and gets the job done. And Oba,
<v Speaker 2>I know you got some nicknames for yourself, Oba the Ruler,
<v Speaker 2>the Destroyer, the King, Thanos Junior. But I got another
<v Speaker 2>nickname for you. Let's talk about it. Oh Beatableloba. That's right, Oba,
<v Speaker 2>if you were, you were beatable. And how how do
<v Speaker 2>we know that you're beatable? Because if you if you
<v Speaker 2>wasn't beatable, you would we wouldn't be having a triple
<v Speaker 2>thread match next week. We'd have a title versus title match. See,
<v Speaker 2>I have my NXT championship around my waist. Where's your title? Dog?
<v Speaker 2>Let's talk about it, Oba, since you don't, since you
<v Speaker 2>want to talk about facts, I'm not chasing you. You're
<v Speaker 2>chasing me to be the top man in NXT. Let's
<v Speaker 2>talk about it, Ova. And since you want to talk
<v Speaker 2>about facts, Oba, when you get beat, When you got
<v Speaker 2>beat at Halloween Havoc, you were gone for a couple
<v Speaker 2>of weeks. Now we all want to know how long
<v Speaker 2>are you going to take off? After I beat you?
<v Speaker 2>At New Year's Evil Vanity, Thorpe comes out and tacks
<v Speaker 2>Obafemi and Trick Williams from behind, and then Thorpe breaks
<v Speaker 2>the NXT MAALE Superstar of the Year trophy over or
<v Speaker 2>over Oba's head and poses with the NXT Championship as
<v Speaker 2>it goes off the air. I'm going to say this
<v Speaker 2>again I said last week very emphatically, and I say
<v Speaker 2>it again this week. I don't understand why Eddie Thorpe
<v Speaker 2>is in this match. He has no reason to be there.
<v Speaker 2>We've been waiting for Trick versus like I don't I have.
<v Speaker 2>I'm sure other people have have been waiting for Trick
<v Speaker 2>Williams versus Oba fev me, and they screwed it up again.
<v Speaker 2>The only thing I can think of is that they
<v Speaker 2>want to save Trick and Oba to stand and deliver,
<v Speaker 2>which you know, it's only three months away, got a
<v Speaker 2>lot of time to build it, but I just I
<v Speaker 2>just don't like the fact that Eddie Thorpe is a
<v Speaker 2>part of this match. Just it just drives me insane.
<v Speaker 2>But that's me. That's how I feel. You may feel differently,
<v Speaker 2>I don't know. But like I said, overall, I believe
<v Speaker 2>this is a really good, a solid episode of NXT
<v Speaker 2>Again New Year's Eve. They could have packed it in,
<v Speaker 2>they could have done whatever they wanted, like every every
<v Speaker 2>other channel was playing some kind of New Year's Eve celebration, fireworks,
<v Speaker 2>balls dropping everything, and Annex Ticket had been like, you
<v Speaker 2>know what, let's not kill ourselves. Excuse me, let's not
<v Speaker 2>kill ourselves. Let's just, you know, put on an okay
<v Speaker 2>show and then move on with our lives. They didn't,
<v Speaker 2>though they did a great show, aside from the fact
<v Speaker 2>that I don't like this whole triple threat triple threat thing,
<v Speaker 2>which again I think that Oba Femi is gonna win.
<v Speaker 2>That's just my unber It's not that not gonna be
<v Speaker 2>any Thorp obviously, And and if I if I was
<v Speaker 2>a betting person, which I'm kind of but not really,
<v Speaker 2>I would say that that Oba Femi is probably gonna
<v Speaker 2>win the match anyway. This is standing delivery or not
<v Speaker 2>stand delivery. New Year's Evil is gonna be a great event.
<v Speaker 2>So I can't wait to give you the review from
<v Speaker 2>next week because there's a lot of good stuff happening
<v Speaker 2>in a New Year's Evil, and it's going to be
<v Speaker 2>right off of the heels of the first Raw on Netflix.
<v Speaker 2>So next week, whilst this Friday is a three hour SmackDown,
<v Speaker 2>it starts that, but next week is gonna be a
<v Speaker 2>high quality week of ww wrestling and I cannot wait
<v Speaker 2>to watch it. I can't wait to give you the
<v Speaker 2>review for New Year's Evil. I think that Julia is
<v Speaker 2>gonna beat Rox Samperes. I think Ova is gonna beat
<v Speaker 2>Trick Williams, and there's no other I don't think there's
<v Speaker 2>any other titles, Like different tag team titles aren't being done,
<v Speaker 2>and the North American titles aren't being done either, So
