We use Tuesday to go over the things that we didn't get to talk about on Monday, or if there's controversy from the Super Bowl from Monday, it spills over to Tuesday.

Speaker 2: Victory preyed in Seattle on Wednesday where they're expecting up words of eight hundred thousand people that will show up. And for Sam Darnold going forward, if you start to look at where quarterbacks peak or the career arc where he started to where he is now is kind of like Joe Flacco. Joe Flacco won a Super Bowl at twenty seven. Sam is twenty eight, and if he would have a similar career to Joe Flacco, I would consider that to be a successful career because Joe Flacco was great postseason quarterback and still playing at forty one and was the best quarterback the Browns had this past year. By the way, I'm wondering about Deshaun Watson is he just going to be a healthy scratch because and not to go down this road. While going down this road, Deshaun Watson just settled his last two lawsuits. I think he had twenty seven of them. Now, can you bring him back if he's healthy, because he's a better quarterback than the two quarterbacks you have, and he's under contract for this next year. Do you bring him back? Do you let him compete? If you're the Browns, do you go out and get another young quarterback in the draft. They might just turn this over to Shadoor Sanders And Todd munkin coming in from Baltimore, he said that he wanted to draft Shadoor Sanders. Shardoor didn't want to go to the Ravens because he didn't want to be a backup to Lamar Jacks, or at least that was the report. But maybe they stay with Shador Sanders. Can you have Deshaun Watson. It's probably been seven years, maybe six years since he had a great season. I think they only won four games in Houston, but he threw for like forty eight hundred yards. He was great, and then all of a sudden everything came crashing down. But if he's a healthy scratch. Are they just going to have him show up at the building but not be in uniform, not be part of the team while you pay him whatever fifty million dollars. I would at least explore that if I'm a Browns fan, he already got past the all Right, we brought this creep in. Now do we want him to represent us? Can he win games for us? Philadelphia got by, you know, past that with Michael Vick. I mean, there's certain teams that have to swallow, you know what. But if that guy's going to help your team you're paying him, then maybe Deshaun Watson gets a chance to actually play his way out of this of sorts. But back to Sam Darnold, he's at a really good price point. And that's the key because if he's making fifty five million dollars like Kirk Cousins, you know, making a lot of money, they're gonna let him go probably go back to Minnesota.

Speaker 2: I don't know what he's going to ask for in Minnesota, but getting that sweet spot is really important for Sam Darnald. He's a B level quarterback and on a A minus team. I mean, it's not an insult He's a B level quarterback. He's not great, but he can be great. He has shown glimpses of that. But he's a B level quarterback. And you could win Seattle prove that you can win with that. Not everybody is, you know, top end. Not everybody is Mahomes or Brady. You know, you have to have quarterbacks that you can just trust. And that's what Sam Darnold will probably be the rest of his career. And I don't think Seattle's his last stop. He might play for ten more years. This is his eighth year, but he might be playing, you know, for quite some time. And maybe he's a bridge quarterback. Maybe he's a backup quarterback again. But having that super Bowl now, it kind of and maybe it frees him up where he's not thinking about that all the time. Can you win the big game? Everybody said the same thing. They won't be saying that again. No, you might get people say, oh, yeah, see it was a fluke, or he can't win the big game. Yeah he won that one, but you know, the defense carried him. However he parses this out, he's still got a super Bowl and he should take great pride in that. And you know, as long as he doesn't price himself out. You play with a really good team, a young team. I don't know if you bring back Kenneth Walker Junior the third, but you got a chance to go back, a really good chance to go back, and then you throw the fallout with Drake May. That's what I'm really curious about, because psychologically, when you get humbled, humiliated, and how you recover from that. And now you've got a tougher schedule and now you've got a stockpile. Now you've got to get some weapons for him and figure out that offensive line. And I think that that'll be challenging because you've got some road games, Like now you're playing Nobody going to say that the schedule was easy this time around, But when you see quarterbacks and it's it's the most talked about position, the most important position in sports. But trying to handicap any of this, Like CJ. Stroud right now, I can't give him an extension, But two years ago, I'm like, oh my god, sign him up. He's going to be fifty million dollars. Now, No, maybe two years for fifty million, but I'd be really nervous about that. George Pickens. I don't know how good he is. I mean, I've seen him be good. But this is a guy that Pittsburgh who needed receivers. Let go, is he reliable? Are you going to franchise him? Are you going to trade him? Talking to Ceedee Lamb at the Super Bowl and he said, look, I'll take less money if it means we can keep him. But you start to look at some of these decisions in the off season with some of these teams, like what are you going to do? What are the Bengals doing with Trey Hendrickson? They're talking about franchising him. Max Crosby says, he's played his last game with the Raiders. That's pretty interesting. Where would he end up? The Dolphins in their quarterbacking situation, Quinn, you were is going to be their starting quarterback?

Speaker 2: It's just it's so fluid and it happens so quickly. Where you go all that like Detroit? Where is Detroit? If I look at power rankings top ten, they seem to be regressing. The Niners reload, but I had another year to Christian McCaffery and George Kittle, Fred Warner, Bosa come back, brock Purty still don't have whiteouts. You got a great coach, but you're in a tough division rams in Seattle, So that's the fascinating part of the offseat. Is Jayden Daniels going to be first year? Jaden Daniels second year? Is he going to be injury prone? The Steelers? Who's your quarterback? And if it's Aaron Rodgers, what is the bigger picture for this and Mike McCarthy taking over there?

Speaker 2: So, you know, the Bengals with their offense, but then the Bengals without their defense. Here it just feels like you could have questions. Is Carolina for real? Is Jacksonville going to build on what they did this past season? And I think having sort of the highs and lows the question mark fluctuation. Is Buffalo going to get a defense? If Buffalo had a defense, they would have played in the Super Bowl this year? I mean, bo Nicks get healthy, be able to replicate what they did, which seems likely, But you're in a tough division. How about the Chiefs. Mahomes coming back, is Kelsey coming back? I mean that window of opportunity is really starting to close because we were thinking, Man, Mahomes, he get a couple more Super Bowls. He's right there on Tom Brady's doorstep. But it closes so quickly. Are the Raiders going to get it right? But how long will it take to get it right? That's what's fascinating about this. And you have to factor in the schedule as well, and then you factor in the draft, you factor in free agency, and it won't be long before we're starting the season again. I mean, this season flew by the Combines in two weeks. The draft is coming up in April. It's happening. It is quick free agency. That's what makes it so fascinating. Storylines. I saw where the commissioner didn't rule out expansion internationally as far as I guess, a franchise in another country. Now, I don't see that happening anytime soon. I was surprised that he said that they haven't taken it off the table. But I see everybody playing an international game each year because that's part of they've dominated. They conquered the United States. Now it's the world. I mean, that's why they're doing flag football. They you're not going to start football leagues elsewhere. You can start at flag football league anywhere. It doesn't take anything, and you can do that world wide with the NFL logo attached to that. That's what they want to do. You want to go global. We'll take our teams there. While we're there, you know, we'll do seminars where we have the flag football and some of our players would come out and you know, help with that be instructed. Whatever it is. The NFL is going to be knee deep on foreign soil. Yes, Paulie.

And I said, yes, he was a Super Bowl MVP, and he was good in the playoffs and he played till he was forty one. But people are like, no, he's gonna be like Brady and Breeze, And I go, no, no about how about we just set the bar a little lower for him. If you say you're gonna get one Super Bowl, if I'm a Raider fan, I go, I'll sign up for that. Even if you don't win it. You'll take it.

The group of players was awesome. They were a ton of fun to root for, and they made it to the Super Bowl when nobody expected them to do that. This was one of the funnest years I've ever had watching football. So it's like the result of the game was like dang. I wish that they had done better. But it's all good. And we brought this up before.

And there was a little animosity between a team that is arguably one of the hottest in the league right now in the Charlotte Hornets, right winners of nine straight I believe, and the number one team in the Eastern Conference in Detroit. And it's funny how something so little, I mean, because the fowl really wasn't anything, in my opinion, which leads me to believe there was a lot of talk that was leading up to that, or there were some elbows before something they don't show. But the foul was nothing. It's what happened afterwards. I expect multiple games from Stewart.

So we'll see multiple suspensions, high fines, and then we move on.

What made that a little bit more unique and different is because of the fan aspect of it, when the fans started to come onto the court when we entered it, the stands as well, because you didn't know where players where fans were going to come from, and just having your head on a swivel because you never know where a punch is coming, if a chair is being thrown at you, if you're going to potentially be maced, which Ron and I were almost maceed by one of the officers on the floor. You just never knew what was going to happen when you get into a situation like that.

And I think you and I have discussed this before. At the corner of my eye, I see it. I see it traveling and in three D slow motion, the cup, and as soon as it hits Ron, he turned into the incredible Hulk.

Speaker 2: But you know, when we look back on that, I don't think we look at what led up to that, Like didn't Ben Wallace play a role in this that we look at the crowd in Detroit versus the Pacers and really the role that the Pistons played in the malice at the Palace.

If you go to games now and you see when the players run out of tunnels, now they're running out like shielded now because now they have cover because of what happened to us as we were leaving the court with all the beer, popcorn, everything being thrown at us.

By the time we had left Detroit and landed back in Indiana, it was all about us, and I knew the coming down. It was all the player's fault. Stephen Curry just recently yesterday is out of the All Star Game because of a knee injury. I like the format because I think we've been kind of trending this way. Just look at the last seven or eight MVPs. They all have been international players. The last American born MVP was James Harden I believe in twenty nineteen. So I like the format. I'm still leaning towards Team World with Wimby, Shane Goon, Jamal Murray Jokic. If Yokis plays like Yogic in recent All Star Games, he really hasn't played hard, but if he plays hard, and I like the two teams Stars and Strikes. We got a younger team of the Cade cutting Hams of the World Tyrese Maxi, and we have an older team that was Lebron James Kevin Durant, would have been Stephen Curry, Donovan Mitchell, and those players, so it'll be interesting. I like the format, but I also like Team World.
