00:00:06 Speaker 1: NFL Covers zero with Matt Jones and Drew Franklin as a production of the NFL and iHeart Podcast. 00:00:20 Speaker 2: Well, that was a heck of. 00:00:22 Speaker 3: A finish to the regular season. It is Week eighteen of NFL Cover zero. 00:00:28 Speaker 1: We just finished watching the Ravens and the Steelers. It feels like every Sunday Night football game, Monday night football game this year has been unbelievable. If the NFL had wanted to script that ending, I'm not sure they could have scripted it much more exciting and heartbreaking. Drew raven Steelers delivers once again. 00:00:51 Speaker 3: Yeah, we started the year with the Ravens pulling off a chaotic game on Sunday Night Football and Week one in Buffalo, and we wrap up the regular season leaving the Ravens behind after that chaotic finish, Kickers, Man, I think I saw that. 00:01:04 Speaker 1: I've often thought that it felt like the Ravens and Steelers play on Sunday Night more than anyone else. It turns out that's true. The Ravens and the Steelers are the matchup that has occurred in the most on Sunday Night football, and this was this probably was the best one. I mean, there's a lot of things to talk about, but let's just start with kickers. Nothing better than starting with people's failures. 00:01:26 Speaker 3: Well tells the story at the end. 00:01:28 Speaker 1: Just think about these two stats. We were talking to Billy about people who give stats. These are two amazons that Boswell, Pittsburgh's kicker, missed the extra point that looked like it was going to cost him the game. He had not missed an extra point since December twenty twenty three. 00:01:45 Speaker 3: Long time miss? 00:01:46 Speaker 1: Is it? 00:01:47 Speaker 2: Tyler Loop? 00:01:49 Speaker 3: Tyler Loop? 00:01:50 Speaker 1: That's right? Is that a person Baltimore's kicker. Okay, didn't know that. By the way, I had someone text me right before the kick, justin Tucker is going to make this. 00:01:58 Speaker 2: They have not been keeping. 00:01:59 Speaker 1: Up with the news. 00:02:00 Speaker 3: I've been listening to Cover zero. 00:02:01 Speaker 1: Well, we can break down all kickers or just reading the reports of things. But it said Loop was twenty eight of twenty eight on field goals inside fifty yards, So two people who did not miss had the pressure squeeze him right there at the end. You know, if Luke makes it, we're talking about Boswell once Boswell missed that one. Throwing off the mat. 00:02:28 Speaker 3: There keep us from ot I feel like it's the better of the two innings. At least the guy that missed the forty four yard er, who's not been with the team for a long time. At least he's the one that missed. 00:02:36 Speaker 1: He was crying. 00:02:37 Speaker 3: But think if BOSSU will misses an extra point. 00:02:40 Speaker 1: But Boswell, I think Tyler Loop. 00:02:45 Speaker 3: I mean once he like you yourself, you wanted to say Tyler lup, no, Tyler poop. 00:02:51 Speaker 1: I know I said it under my breath. 00:02:53 Speaker 3: I wasn't going to bring that to the podcast. That was during the kick. 00:02:56 Speaker 2: I feel bad for him. 00:02:58 Speaker 1: Boswell at least has some built inequity with the Pittsburgh fan base. 00:03:02 Speaker 3: He was a lot closer to them, a lot closer extra point. Rogers was so happy when you got that touchdown. Rogers was already in the playoffs, and he would I'd. 00:03:10 Speaker 1: Rather have made it Lamar or Aaron Rogers. 00:03:15 Speaker 2: Lamar. 00:03:15 Speaker 1: By the way, that's two years in a row. 00:03:18 Speaker 3: Catch Brave. 00:03:19 Speaker 1: I mean Andrews drops it last year in the playoffs, and then Loopy Lou misses. I'm sorry Loup was crying. You did immediately sympathy. 00:03:30 Speaker 3: Well, really, they both robbed all of us of maybe more football. Maybe we're not even talking right now we're watching Lamar and Aaron Rodgers just seeing who's the least washed right now, playing until. 00:03:41 Speaker 1: The end for the spot, he cried immediately, like he didn't even have time for the gravity of it to hit him, Which makes me think, and I say this like with genuine sympathy for me, it makes me think he was like too scared when he starts. Sometimes the moment, if you're crying immediately, then you were like preemptively crying before, like you knew this could happen. 00:04:04 Speaker 3: And hot take. I think his coaching staff could have done a little better. I would have probably run another play with a Tome out that is on the road in Pittsburgh with the playoffs on the line, true settling from forty four yards and they still missed it. He did, but I would have at least tried to get him a little more room. They had Tom and a Tom out to give him space. Still tough way for its end. What's also what's what's nuts though? Or how many people made egregious errors to get to that point. I mean you had Jalen Ramsey just letting Zay Flowers run down the field. Tyler loop did not save Boswell for me he saved Jayalen Ramsey because Jalen Ramsey would have been the talk of that loss. 00:04:41 Speaker 1: Yeah, in both instances, both one the Zay Flowers catch and then the catch at the end that river that was the guy's likely likely mate. And then I mean this wasn't an air so much as he just fell the Baltimore game. Baltimore Gay umse he falls, that's you hate to see. A slip Ramsey was just him being old. He's not a safety. He made a mistake. The slip would have been a hard way to to go out. So it was a great game. I feel bad for Lamar and you know how Aaron Rodgers like, they play Houston, they could win, right, get DK back. 00:05:19 Speaker 2: Think about all the things that are different. 00:05:21 Speaker 1: Now, does John Harbaugh get fired because of. 00:05:22 Speaker 3: Loopti, lou SHOT's tough fad, some injuries, some they've gambled with, some guys on the back end of their careers. But I mean eight and eight with that team's bad yeah, nine or eight nine, excuse me going to that game and then. 00:05:34 Speaker 1: Lamar will be back. But what did you see Mike Tomlin did a kiss into the camera at the end. 00:05:42 Speaker 3: That stadium had been booing him just about a month ago. 00:05:46 Speaker 1: Dude, he should if I actually think now, he should walk away himself and kind of do a everybody kiss my tail. 00:05:56 Speaker 3: Yeah, because whatever happens next, it's gonna be a pretty big reb I mean, maybe Aaron Rodgers has another year left, but it's not like. 00:06:04 Speaker 1: Take whatever job is the best job available. He could go take it immediately, like he would be if he's a free agent, anyone would want him, Oh. 00:06:15 Speaker 3: Come to Nashville. I would. I would love to have Mike Tomlin compared to what they're talking about, right if he ended up in Baltimore, I mean in Baltimore, be an option. They should take it. If he's still a great coach, even though Steelers you're backy since Ben Roethlisberger, that would be weird to see. I don't know if you can do that switch. 00:06:33 Speaker 1: But I mean his record of winning, you know, of nine win seasons is unbelieving. That was just that was a great gate. That's what makes the NFL an awesome sport is that it was that kind of game right there. The Raven Steelers is the best rivalry in a winner goes to playoffs, losers out, Like, how can you have it any better. Yeah. 00:06:53 Speaker 3: Late in the fourth quarter, had a couple of different you know, friend group texts like everybody get to Sunday night football. If you're not watching, its chaos. And that was before like the fourth down, and that was who is your group text? 00:07:05 Speaker 2: That doesn't know what two different? 00:07:07 Speaker 3: I mean. 00:07:07 Speaker 1: Sometimes it's something like something somebody's like, hey, you may not have thought of this stealers raven stuff. 00:07:12 Speaker 3: I don't always why if like something's going crazy, Yeah, we do all the time. A y'all, are y'all tuned into whatever name of basketball whatever, just making su everybody's locked in. The point is they're talking about how chaotic it was, and that was before the extra point, the fourth down and this kick at the end. It was already chaotic pretty early when they started trading touchdowns late in the fourth quarter. 00:07:30 Speaker 1: I want to know who Billy was on that group texting. I can tell you it wasn't and did someone was someone not watching? 00:07:36 Speaker 3: I would say most weren't watching. 00:07:38 Speaker 1: Okay, how many people is in the group, uh? 00:07:41 Speaker 3: Seven, eight? Including me? Kyle said, if you're not watching, this game is off the rails. 00:07:47 Speaker 1: I like, Kyle. 00:07:47 Speaker 3: And then somebody hit it with a heart, So they were probably watching this. 00:07:52 Speaker 2: I like that. My mom's bigger. 00:07:54 Speaker 3: And then Derek said, oh, Derek said, extra point incoming dirt. So then we started getting some live commentary. So I have to mute the group yet. Oh it's one hundred a day, easy, seven eight people though not bad. 00:08:07 Speaker 1: I'm in a group. I'm in my fellowship group chat is twenty five people, and when they get going, when they get going, I'm like, all right, everybudy, just let's little bit. 00:08:15 Speaker 3: Yeah, if we're gonna tell them my group chat, I gotta be honest. More like Tyler poop came from the group chat. So if we're gonna throw me under the bus here, I'm gonna throw my group chat. This is it the possibility that over all these years just stealing from the girl, all the funny things you've said have been a collective like writing. Yeah, take a writing. They can't even say the name of the group on the air. In fact, when it pops up on my phone, I get really embarrassed if anyone's around, because just the name in itself is that's interesting and appropriate? 00:08:45 Speaker 2: Well, I mean I think that's okay. 00:08:46 Speaker 1: I had to give a speech ones and I had to write a lot of jokes, and I had a group my We don't have a group chat, but I've created one for it, and probably fifty percent of the jokes came from the group. So I feel like it's all right. 00:08:59 Speaker 3: They're taking over. It's the ones where you have thirty people and there's a green person in there that's run. 00:09:03 Speaker 2: The green people should be. 00:09:05 Speaker 1: The green people are be like Tyler Loop in terms of their ability to go anywhere. 00:09:09 Speaker 2: Why would we keep making fun of him? 00:09:11 Speaker 1: I feel that for him, I genuinely do, like that would be the loneliest existence. 00:09:16 Speaker 3: In the world. 00:09:17 Speaker 1: You're with a group of people who are bigger than you, stronger than you, faster than you, cooler than you, richer than you, and you are like, hey, guys, I get the play kicker and then you miss. And he's a rookie. No, he's not rookie. He's also younger than everybody. 00:09:39 Speaker 3: I mean he was already getting the laundry and bringing the donuts every morning. 00:09:42 Speaker 2: Oh my goodness. 00:09:45 Speaker 3: I don't know if he's doing laundry. I think they employ people to do that. But yeah, he's a rookie. He's gonna hurt for a while. I don't mean to pick on him either. That's why I'm throwing my group chat under the bus. His rookie year ends with not even like I missed it and there was more football left. This was a direct you're either er, you're out. 00:10:03 Speaker 1: The University of Arizona. And look, he's got such a like he does. It's got like such a nice like boy haircut. 00:10:10 Speaker 3: To little Davis Mills thing going on too. Yeah, we'll get to him. 00:10:13 Speaker 1: Oh my goodness. 00:10:15 Speaker 3: Well all right, hey, there's only three misses before tonight. Looking at his stats, we're all from fifty or more. 00:10:23 Speaker 2: Well, his instagram says he's an athlete. 00:10:27 Speaker 3: He's seven for seven from forty to forty nine for tonight's game. 00:10:32 Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Tyler Loop. I wish you the best. 00:10:36 Speaker 3: Well, maybe we can get him on the pod. 00:10:38 Speaker 1: I don't know. This is like, I don't think he should use this as his moment to call him right now to take over. Well, all right, so the Steelers makets and now we have the playoffs. They are set for next week. Well, I guess let's go through the games and then we'll talk about the playoffs in a little bit. So are at one o'clock games. You mentioned the Texans. They beat the Colts. Why do you want to talk about Davis Mills. 00:11:04 Speaker 4: Well, they won and he played the entire second half. They didn't play C. J. 00:11:08 Speaker 1: Stroud. Did you think that was weird that they substituted him at half? 00:11:12 Speaker 3: I can tell you why they did it. They needed the Jags to win. They got in the locker room, turned on the TV. The Jags were up thirty one seven at halftime against the Titans, and they probably said they needed the Jags to lose. Excuse me, need Jags to lose. It was meaningless if the Jags wonky thirty one seven at half time against the Titans. I assume there's a TV in the locker room and they thought, all right. They pulled a lot of people, not just Stroud. 00:11:35 Speaker 2: Yeah, well that's a good call. 00:11:37 Speaker 1: You know what. This is why we have you on for your expert now since I didn't, well it was. 00:11:41 Speaker 3: Me and the Titans coaches or the Texans coaches. Yeah no, no, me and the Texans coaches were the only people still watching Titans Jacks. So that's why I just I'm glad someone else out there had eyeballs on that game. 00:11:52 Speaker 2: Well, so let's do both these. The Jags beat the Titans. 00:11:55 Speaker 5: Uh. 00:11:55 Speaker 1: The Texans beat the Colts to AFC South matchups. I didn't realize until before the game that Philip Vers retired. Did they get the way? Did they get said before the game? 00:12:05 Speaker 3: Yeah? 00:12:06 Speaker 1: So what? Just that curious? Why not play the last game? They couldn't do it too sore? I mean played three games, that's it. I mean, you have won more for the rest of your life. He just wanted to go play, like why not? 00:12:21 Speaker 3: I think he just wanted to hand it off to Riley Leonard, kind of like I'm handing off the Colts quarterback Jersey to you, Rally Leonard. I mean enough, listen it's it was a great story, and he actually did much better than I thought. 00:12:32 Speaker 2: But he was ohing three. 00:12:33 Speaker 3: One of his kids probably had like a recital or something. 00:12:36 Speaker 2: On the sidelines. 00:12:37 Speaker 1: He was eating a corn dog most of the game. 00:12:39 Speaker 3: There's a game January fourth. I can't make it that game. That game, guys, I'll do your last three. 00:12:43 Speaker 1: Why would he not play the last game? 00:12:45 Speaker 3: He had enough went out on top. 00:12:47 Speaker 1: I think the Colts went out on the bottom. 00:12:49 Speaker 4: I think the Colts wanted to see what they had in Riley Leonard. It was his first start, so maybe he saw that. 00:12:53 Speaker 1: Well, they clearly they didn't think they had much, which is why Philip Rivers was on the team to begin with. Right, Well, they lost, So Texas win. Davis Mills, what's his record? Twenty three? 00:13:02 Speaker 3: And oh this year it's incredible four. No, I think the Texans have won nine quarterback controversy Texas one nine straight. 00:13:10 Speaker 4: Texans have won nine straight. They're the hottest team in the NFL. Meanwhile, the Colts lost seven in a row to miss the playoffs after starting eight and two. 00:13:17 Speaker 1: I believe, I. 00:13:18 Speaker 3: Don't know the exact timeline, but Davis Mills is somewhere in the beginning of that win streak. Yeah, if not started it, he's game two or three. 00:13:26 Speaker 2: He might be guad that. 00:13:27 Speaker 1: In all seriousness, if you're a team that needs a quarterback, you would look at in the offseason, right because he when he played before CJ. Stroud wasn't he's a quarterback for you? He was? He was all right, So I mean, why wouldn't you look at him. He's been there like five years since Stroud's been there. I don't think they had to use him before Stroud, he was like the starter for a season. 00:13:47 Speaker 2: Dude, he was okay, well maybe not. 00:13:49 Speaker 3: I mean they catched him a round for three more years. 00:13:51 Speaker 1: Founding that good because they got the number one pick and picked CJ. 00:13:53 Speaker 3: Stroud. So well, he's been fine this year. 00:13:56 Speaker 1: Yeah. 00:13:57 Speaker 3: Well, and he's one of the best quarterbacks in Stanford history. Yeah you know that another Stanford debut. We'll get to later today, big name. But I thought the AFC was going to be terrible. AFC South. You get two teams in and then the Jags that put on the Titans today. Oh, by the way, there was a moment in the Titans game. I know you two would hate. Cam Little kicked a sixty seven yard field goal and I think he was still on its way up. 00:14:22 Speaker 1: He single handedly should have the kicking rules changed because he's a little shrimp too, and he kicks it like he doesn't even look like he's trying. And he's kicked now the two longest field goals in history this year. And you're not gonna tell me that he's just some super human He's not the Tiger woods. 00:14:38 Speaker 3: A kicking and he was like giggling about it like that was Yeah, like Scooby back, I'll do the kickers have a group chat like where they're all. 00:14:45 Speaker 1: Oh, yes, do you think kickers? Do you think they support each other? Like do you think there are kickers saying hanging there? It's such a cutthroat position where they'll they'll fire you in hardbat and get the next guy. I think they're constantly just rooting for others to fail. Oh that's interesting, So you think it's just one bad game and they'll I think it's like the Real Housewives and kickers definitely like the they all want to they all are like nice to each other, but really they want each other to fall in the ocean. 00:15:10 Speaker 3: And it's probably like golf where they all pretend they're rooting for each other being on their brain and they're on the green, they're like they don't say it, they'll shake your hand, they'll plod you, but on the inside, you know they're like. 00:15:19 Speaker 1: Don't know, I've ever noticed this, But like when at the end of games, when everybody goes and hugs, it's the only people the kickers hug the other kickers. 00:15:28 Speaker 3: Seems like the specialists find e shit long snappers sty'll hug a kicker punter, kicker. Long snappers find each other. 00:15:35 Speaker 1: Long Snappers have to hug each other and go we are pulling one on the world, right, We are using a roster spot and we don't do anything. 00:15:45 Speaker 3: And I think the Jags long snapper was their only pro bowler and they've like been celebrating him. Well do you have I mean, he's on the posters. 00:15:54 Speaker 1: How do you even have a pro Bowl lungs? How do you determine who's good? 00:15:59 Speaker 3: You snap real good? 00:16:00 Speaker 1: But I mean, I, off the top of my head, can't think of one bad long snap this year, Like on a punt, can you think of one? No, it feels like it should be a thirty two way tie. 00:16:13 Speaker 3: Do you think because he's being celebrated so much in Jacksonville, the other long snappers are like, dude, you're flying too close to the sun. Chill. We're supposed to be incognito here. We don't want people to really zoom in on this and see what we're doing. 00:16:23 Speaker 2: Yeah. 00:16:24 Speaker 1: Probably, Well, anyway, there's your Texans colts and got hurt. I saw the first drive and hopefully not to bet maybe or something like that. They scored though on the first drive, scored on. 00:16:34 Speaker 3: The play got hurt and Trevor Lawrence got grills in the postgame locker round. 00:16:38 Speaker 2: I saw that. 00:16:38 Speaker 1: So they bought him grills? 00:16:40 Speaker 3: Yeah? 00:16:40 Speaker 2: Why? 00:16:41 Speaker 3: I think that's a Duval County thing, is it? 00:16:45 Speaker 1: Yes, so everyone in Jacksonville gets grills. 00:16:48 Speaker 3: I wouldn't say everybody, but I think it is part of the culture of that city. 00:16:52 Speaker 2: First of all, how would they. 00:16:53 Speaker 3: Were talking about it? 00:16:55 Speaker 1: So it's not like you just no, I'm not just pulling this. 00:16:57 Speaker 2: I mean I would. 00:16:58 Speaker 1: I mean, if I were looking for Duval County culture, I would usually come to you. But I'm not trying to not trust you. 00:17:04 Speaker 3: He is our Floridian on the show. 00:17:06 Speaker 1: That is true. So that's a Duval thing? 00:17:09 Speaker 2: Okay? 00:17:10 Speaker 3: Is Liam Cohen? 00:17:11 Speaker 2: Did I see? 00:17:11 Speaker 1: It was only on his bottom teeth? 00:17:13 Speaker 3: I thought he had on top and bottom. But there's a meme of an AI generated Trevor Lawrence with grills that goes, oh okay, so. 00:17:20 Speaker 1: They actually got him the real ones. Okay, Well that's kind of nice. They are, without question, the most disrespected good team. Right. 00:17:29 Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I mean they've been on fire lately, especially Lawrence. He and Cohen started the year. I think we even talked about it. They were like arguing on the sidelines. Looked like they didn't get along. You wondered what was going on. And now here we are at the end of the season, and Cohen has been obviously great for that team and great for Lawrence playing great throws. 00:17:46 Speaker 6: No, he's been good in the last month and a half, two months, all right. 00:18:03 Speaker 1: So then you had the brown beat the Bengals. 00:18:08 Speaker 3: The only thing I cared about this game is that did you see the post game Joe Burrow's hair kept getting. 00:18:13 Speaker 2: In his eyes? 00:18:14 Speaker 3: No, I didn't see that. I wouldn't dialed in for the Bengals Browns post game usually, I am. 00:18:19 Speaker 1: Well, he clearly wanted his hair to be out, but it just kept falling into his eyes, but he just kept letting it. Did he give it to blow the I think he did it, probably just to increase the female audio. 00:18:35 Speaker 3: First trap it was. I think this version of arts farming. Isn't that a thing? 00:18:38 Speaker 1: It was a weird thing to or a farm when you lost the last game of the season to your arrival to the Browns. 00:18:44 Speaker 2: They did it. 00:18:44 Speaker 1: Sounds like they're bringing back their coach though the Bengals. 00:18:47 Speaker 3: Bengals fans are not happy about that. They've been complaining about him. Maybe before Game one, when the record was O and O, they were done with him. I'm pretty surprised by that. 00:18:55 Speaker 1: The Browns with the win, by the way, hit the over, which I think surprised a lot of people. 00:19:00 Speaker 3: And they probably won't keep their coach, which. 00:19:02 Speaker 1: I think is weird because I think he's a good coach. But I guess, yes, shockingly in the Stefanski versus Schador thing, is Shador gonna win? Is Shador gonna be? I mean they can pick a quarterback, should they? 00:19:19 Speaker 3: Yeah? I don't love the options where they would be drafting. 00:19:25 Speaker 1: Maybe they're gonna be what fifth or sixth? 00:19:28 Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, but I just don't think there's a many picks, Like Raiders are gonna get one. I don't think it's Raiders. 00:19:33 Speaker 1: They'll get one. 00:19:33 Speaker 3: There's six Cardinals, maybe. 00:19:35 Speaker 1: Jets, I guess Jets. 00:19:37 Speaker 3: I think at that point, maybe just roll with them. Again. Yeah, I don't think he's the answer though. It's just added to the list of Browns QB. The carousel will continue, whether it's this offseason or next. All right, let's talk about the NFC South. Maybe they go get Davis Mills, like Miles Garrett broke the sack record. That was cool. 00:19:53 Speaker 1: Well, yeah, we need to talk about okay. Zach Taylor wined about that. Though they did a five minute like celebration during or he said it was five minutes. I don't know how long it was, but he breaks the sacks record, which was cool. I love to dad in the stands with the camera. I thought that was I thought that was a neat thing. He breaks a sack record, they stop the game and do a little celebration. Zach Taylor said he was not informed about that, and he was not happy. He was like, there's five minutes left in the game. It was his key point. You should have let me know you're gonna do that. 00:20:26 Speaker 3: I would have said to him, Zach, no one is watching this game except for the off chance Miles Garry gets that sack, so we're gonna honor it. No one is here to watch you, and you should be lucky you're getting five more minutes in the National Football League. 00:20:37 Speaker 1: It seemed like the Bengals didn't want him to get it, like they were doing things to not let him get it. That wasn't laid down, That wasn't the old bred farmer I agree. 00:20:44 Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean he got right to him, but it wasn't like they just let up and let him have his moment. 00:20:49 Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm with you. I think that was an earned That was an earned final sack. 00:20:54 Speaker 3: And then one thing they can hang their head on, bingles gotta be. Are they the most disappointing team of the year. Yeah, because I mean the Chiefs Chiefs are disappointing too. That's got to be the answer. Bengals are up there though, because that offense was still supposed to be a lot more exciting. 00:21:12 Speaker 1: You're going to get a top ten pick, though. It's kind of dangerous to give them Homes a top ten pick, isn't it. 00:21:17 Speaker 3: Well, I feel like you already got away with robbery the last two drafts, getting Rice and Worthy where he did. 00:21:22 Speaker 1: So. 00:21:22 Speaker 3: Yeah, them getting to pick. 00:21:23 Speaker 1: A that far up, I mean they like you. With that pick, could probably get Kelsey's replacement, right, You could probably get the best tied end in the draft there, you would think, Yeah, whoever that is, I don't know who that is, but. 00:21:35 Speaker 3: Maybe they could even trade it and load up on some picks, try to keep the dynasty going, depending how they want to do it. 00:21:40 Speaker 2: That's interesting. 00:21:41 Speaker 3: Do you think this was the last game with the Travis and Yeah, but you have twelve yards. 00:21:48 Speaker 1: Yeah, it wasn't great and the people throwing though. Did you see the picture of him and Taylor with Clarissa Thompson and Aaron Andrews and their boyfriends. 00:21:59 Speaker 3: Yeah, they're like best friends. They vacation together. It's like the six of them. Yeah, it's a power triple at a couple of lit. 00:22:06 Speaker 1: Got to know each other because I would think Taylor Swift like way bigger than them, right, I guess maybe through through Travis Kelsey. I guess probably. 00:22:15 Speaker 3: There was some story early on with them when Fort Travis even met Taylor on their podcast. They're really playing up Taylor Swift needs to give them a chance. I guess their swifties there they were big on. I don't know if they actually. 00:22:26 Speaker 1: Want to be friends with some of you were a big fan of before, Like who's your favorite musical artist? 00:22:35 Speaker 3: I actually don't even have one right now? Changes Little Wayne made way. 00:22:38 Speaker 1: You want to if you just got to vacation with Lil Wayne, if you want to do. 00:22:42 Speaker 3: That on a vacation tomorrow with Little Wayne, I would love for you to go. 00:22:44 Speaker 2: What would you and Lil Wayne do on this ship. 00:22:46 Speaker 3: I would just be like, remember remembering Birdman Junior, when you said. 00:22:51 Speaker 2: You can't do that. 00:22:52 Speaker 1: You can't just talk to him about Remember when I liked you, like you have to be friends, you don't have to talk. Yeah, we'll go to dinner. What are you gonna talk about? 00:22:58 Speaker 2: I don't know. 00:22:59 Speaker 3: Probably the Carter one through five. I could write the Carters for him. 00:23:03 Speaker 2: The Packers. 00:23:04 Speaker 1: You like to talk basketballs Okay, see you. 00:23:06 Speaker 2: Have talking about the Packers. 00:23:07 Speaker 3: Okay, So I can't talk to him about rap is what you're saying. I can't ask you. I don't think he wants your friendship. I think when your friends like you don't sit here and you and our friends you don't sit here and ask me about Kentucky basketball. 00:23:18 Speaker 2: We talk about. 00:23:19 Speaker 3: Everything in very genuine I would probably be like, all right, uh Wayne, Dwayne, his name's actually Dwayne Hem Dwayne Michael. 00:23:26 Speaker 1: Carter what. 00:23:31 Speaker 3: I'm not ready for this moment. I think I'm thinking of starstruck. 00:23:34 Speaker 1: I think I would bumble. 00:23:36 Speaker 3: I would fumble with my friendship with Lowayne. 00:23:37 Speaker 1: I think it would be very hard. I mean, I've met my favorite artist multiple times. Tyler Childers, and it is hard because, like, you go up to him, he knows me, but we all we only know of each other the thing that they're known for. And so like he'll be like, I know he wants to talk to me about Kentucky basketball, and I want to talk to him about you know, follow you to Virgie. But if you take those two points away, we have nothing, miss Acre, because we don't know each other. 00:24:12 Speaker 3: You know, I go too far in You'll think you're a super fan, but you don't want to just act like nothing. 00:24:16 Speaker 1: But I've now seen him multiple times since I'll be like, I'll give it. We give each other the bro hug. But then we were. 00:24:22 Speaker 3: Out of things like this reminds me of a great story. But okay, I went on a bachelor party than my dear friends. It was in Atlanta. He's a big Braves guy. We're in Atlanta, Uh, just doing bachelor party things right a club and I guess I can say the player's name because it doesn't matter. Jason Hayward's in there, and this is when he's big star of the Braves hadn't been traded yet, and I tell the manager with I was like, my the bachelor over here loves the Braves. It's like Diahard, like he knows the triple A roster, but he also specifically loves Jason Hayward. And I was like, is there any way I could bring my Bachelor over to Jason Hayward just for a quick killo and the managers like, yeah, let's set this up. But like he can't fanboy and be weird, like I'll tell Jason your fan's gonna be like he can't be you know in So I go up to I won't say the Bachelor, won't say Bachelor, and I was like, dude, you're gonna get to meet Hayward. Just play it cool, No, don't be weird asking for selfies. He might get to Heron's I swear. We walk up to Jason Hayward and I'm like, hey Jason, this is my friend the Bachelor, and the bacheler goes, hey, man, what do you do for a living? Like like he took don't be a fan into I acted like he doesn't know who he was, and then Hayward's confused, like I thought he knew who I was, and we just have this awkward standoff. So he went too cool and pretended he didn't even know who is his favorite? 00:25:40 Speaker 1: Don't what do you do for a living? 00:25:43 Speaker 3: Yeah? Like, hey man, who are you? What do you do? I was like, you went too far. You're you can acknowledge that he plays baseball, don't super fan? But he went too far the other direction. 00:25:51 Speaker 1: It is tough, though, because I would challenge you to think about if you met your favorite person at something, but you couldn't talk to them about that, what would you say? 00:26:05 Speaker 3: Because that's how you know and why you're exactly right. 00:26:08 Speaker 1: I don't know Tyler Childers because we both like Severance. I don't even know if you've seen And it would be weird if I just went up to him and go, hey, did you watch Severance? 00:26:17 Speaker 3: Maybe that's the last little Wayne about just severns Guy Pitt. 00:26:21 Speaker 1: Season two's coming out. You want to go to the beach? 00:26:26 Speaker 2: That would be weird? Want to go to the beach? All right? 00:26:29 Speaker 1: How we got off on that? Either I NFC South. You predicted Billy last week? Yes, exactly what would happen? You said the Buccaneers would win, but then the Falcons would win the next day and knock them out. 00:26:42 Speaker 2: And that's exactly what happened. 00:26:44 Speaker 4: It was a strange kind of depression. I found myself watching my two rivals, second. 00:26:48 Speaker 3: And third strings battle it out in order who would win the division. 00:26:52 Speaker 4: I mean it was it was awful. I mean, losing eight of your last ten games was awful enough. But bolted they got your hopes out, then they got my hopes up, and they win I mean in that slop of a game on Saturday, and then I will never rely on the same so again. 00:27:06 Speaker 1: But now the Panthers host a playoff game, Carolina, Mike, if you had one hundred and fifty thousand, that's right he put out I saw today after they won the game, and after the Saints lost, he put out a video that was he said, a new verse, and initially he just put the old song out again. I think he had uploaded the wrong video, so he just literally put his same song on again, which I love. 00:27:41 Speaker 2: I know. 00:27:41 Speaker 3: They've already brought him to the to the stadium performed that's dude again, I mean full blown parking lot concert. 00:27:47 Speaker 1: Maybe he just goes places. I've wondered this about him, when he goes places and performs. If you don't know who he is, you have to think something like, your world is messed up? Why is this middle aged man's in the glasses who is not talented? 00:28:07 Speaker 3: Hey, hey he's not talented, just limited in his catalog only one song. 00:28:13 Speaker 2: It is a bagger. 00:28:14 Speaker 3: Yeah, he just needs to grow the collection. 00:28:16 Speaker 1: If you like, if you just came up, like if you were at a Panther's game and you did not know who he was, wouldn't you be like, what is happening right now? Why is this man performing? 00:28:28 Speaker 3: But he's already done it in the arena and got the applogy. 00:28:31 Speaker 1: Now people had to like next week he's performing in a Wake Forest basketball game. There is a really good chance that a huge portion of that crowd is not going to. 00:28:41 Speaker 3: Know who he is. He just doesn't. He just follows Red Panda around venue, halftime venues, college basketball. 00:28:49 Speaker 1: Like, what percentage of the college students at Wake Forest do you think know who he is? It can't be that many. 00:28:56 Speaker 3: A lot of Panthers fans. Yeah, keeping it in state. If you said Virginia, he said Virginia Tech. I'm going from people Virginia Tech. And then he gets out there, what are they just gonna be like? What, who's dash? Bob your head? And wonder how am I not a part of this? What did I miss that everyone else is enjoying. 00:29:18 Speaker 1: I kind of want to go to Winston, say, just to watch it and to see what everybody does. 00:29:23 Speaker 3: We focus on him, but has anyone done a wellness check on meal Mix. It's been very quiet since. Remember the players told him to stay stay dark, stay in your room, stay quiet, and. 00:29:34 Speaker 2: They did it. 00:29:36 Speaker 3: I mean, the moment they stopped podcasting is literally the moment switch flipped. 00:29:42 Speaker 2: Now we're good. 00:29:43 Speaker 1: Are the playoffs? 00:29:45 Speaker 2: Yeah? 00:29:45 Speaker 1: Are you? Would you blow it up if you're the fifth for your team? I would get rid of Baker. 00:29:51 Speaker 3: No, no, Bakers, stay Baker. 00:29:53 Speaker 2: But everybody else I. 00:29:54 Speaker 4: Think would would go. But I think the word is that they're going to keep him. That's what Schefter was saying this morning, is that the owners want to keep him. But like Dave Canalis was our offensive coordinator, he takes the Panthers to the playoffs. Liam Cohen was our offensive coordinator, takes the Jags. 00:30:07 Speaker 3: It's just taste. Yeah, that just means you got more great coordinators, though. 00:30:12 Speaker 4: I mean, if you're known for defense and your defense was the worst in the league the last ten weeks, I mean, you got to be held accountable. But probably the last game for Lavonte, David and Mike Evans in Tampa make me sad. 00:30:23 Speaker 1: Mike Evons is like was a part of your childhood. 00:30:26 Speaker 3: Those two are first ballot Hall of famers, no doubt. 00:30:28 Speaker 4: And to see them and like how long they stayed on the field after the game and stuff. 00:30:32 Speaker 3: Was really sad. So pour one out for them. Baker tricked me because he scored on the opening drive and they zoomed in and he's yelling I'm him and he's doing this and I thought, is he back? Did he snap out of something? And then they didn't score another touchdown. 00:30:45 Speaker 7: Yeah. 00:30:46 Speaker 1: By the way, the Vikings and Packers played the one o'clock games, and I don't think they ever put that game on red zone. 00:30:52 Speaker 4: They actually didn't show a Packers offensive snap until they were about four minutes left on the reds How do you know that? 00:30:59 Speaker 3: Because Scott or Hansen made it. 00:31:01 Speaker 1: He said it. 00:31:01 Speaker 3: Yeah, he made a note about that. 00:31:03 Speaker 1: I was watching it in the airport and I was like, at one point they put it on and I go, I didn't know they were playing not hurt again? 00:31:10 Speaker 3: Who did none against the player? Yeah? 00:31:13 Speaker 1: He apologized, but they wont I think most of the players are like, we're good. We don't really care if you play or not. 00:31:18 Speaker 3: Well, his comments after it, he sounded sad like he might not be back, or at least that the guy will whatever they do, their decision. I hope to be here, but you know, kind of one of those He didn't wasn't speaking like a J. J. 00:31:31 Speaker 1: McCarthy. 00:31:31 Speaker 3: Yeah, I wasn't talking like a confidence. 00:31:33 Speaker 1: Why would they not bring him back? 00:31:35 Speaker 3: I mean he would be on the team, but he leaps talking like a guy that doesn't know that he'll be the future. 00:31:39 Speaker 1: Well maybe he shouldn't be. 00:31:41 Speaker 3: I go get I'd go get David Else. Yeah, you mentioned Scott Hansen. Did you all see his son off? 00:31:49 Speaker 1: Know what he's saying? 00:31:50 Speaker 3: He was very emotional. Why this is kind of a new red zone to me here. I'm usually the ESPN's keeping him. He got like he seriously got like a lump in his throat, and I thought, does this happen every year? Am I sad? Is there something? I don't know what he's said about. I don't know, but it was And his son off was like, you're very emotional, And I thought, is this has been every season. I don't think you should cry for every year they see. This is my first, you know, full Red Zone where I did the whole year with him, So it was my first sign off the phone. I mean, listen, I NFL. I'm essentially part of thely. I like Scott Hants. I think he's good. But I missed the other guy, Siciliano. 00:32:29 Speaker 1: Yeah, his ears. I mean, I've been watching him for fifteen years. He's fifteen years and I I'm missing. 00:32:36 Speaker 2: What's he doing now? 00:32:37 Speaker 3: He's on the Browns Radio network. He's still around his own. 00:32:40 Speaker 2: That's an emotion. 00:32:42 Speaker 3: I've seen him. 00:32:43 Speaker 1: He went from Red Zone to the Browns Radio network. I believe so. 00:32:47 Speaker 3: And I think he still does his NFL network stuff. Yeah, I see him. 00:32:50 Speaker 2: Okay, so he's still in the NFL though. 00:32:51 Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, good. 00:32:52 Speaker 2: Because I do like that guy. That guy was actually really funny. 00:32:55 Speaker 3: Maybe he wouln't get him emotional enough at sign offs. 00:32:57 Speaker 4: Scott does take it serious with the whole don't go to the bathroom, and he did. 00:33:02 Speaker 3: I'm not making this up. He said, don't cry because it's over small because it happened today. That's that was the s But that it seems like the kind of you would say if you were getting fined gra Now, I know it's changing hands, but we already knew that before this season, and they're keeping him like it's going to ESPN, but they already been talking about that. That's not new, that'd be I don't know, but he was very I'm worried about him. 00:33:21 Speaker 1: Actually, he was only on YouTube TV for two years. 00:33:24 Speaker 3: Go back and watch it. It makes you think, like, what's going on? 00:33:28 Speaker 1: Is this is okay? 00:33:29 Speaker 3: Sad it's over? 00:33:30 Speaker 1: Yeah, well I'm sad. 00:33:32 Speaker 3: Don't cry that it's over. Smile that it happened. 00:33:34 Speaker 1: Dudes, you're like, you're gonna be on TV Monday. 00:33:36 Speaker 2: Probably got next year or too. 00:33:39 Speaker 1: Football left. 00:33:53 Speaker 2: All right? 00:33:54 Speaker 3: Then? 00:33:54 Speaker 1: The four o'clock games had a lot of them. I was flying during a lot of these. But the Rams h they beat the Cardinals. All the Cardinals kept it relatively close. They did most of the game. Stafford had another four touchdown game. I saw Bill Simmons whining because he said that McVeigh was patting the stats for Stafford so he could win the MVP, not noting that that the the Drake may played the Patriots or he plays the Jets and the. 00:34:18 Speaker 2: Dolphins the last two weeks. 00:34:20 Speaker 1: Who would you vote for? By the way, he's so close. Stafford is now the favorite. Did you see that? Like May was a big favorite going into today and at this moment, Stafford is a small favorite for. 00:34:32 Speaker 3: It because Stafford another huge game. I didn't see it as running up though. I think it was like twenty three to twenty in the fourth quarter. The Cardinals were in it, so I know, I don't believe they're pad maybe the last touchdown, but that what if they did? 00:34:45 Speaker 1: So what? 00:34:45 Speaker 3: Yeah? 00:34:46 Speaker 2: And so yeah, I mean it's not illegal to pad your stats. 00:34:50 Speaker 1: Uh, the Broncos win, Patriots win, so the Broncos will be the number one seed. 00:34:55 Speaker 2: Uh, the Raiders won. Now who has the number one pick? 00:34:58 Speaker 3: The Raiders? They got to keep it because the Giants beat the Cowboys. Okay, so they are going into today. You know that's what you think. 00:35:05 Speaker 1: Pete Carroll got No, I do not, Okay, No, would you walk away if your Pete Carroll go out on top beating the beating the defending AFC champs. 00:35:16 Speaker 3: Well you always you always want to leave places better than you found it. 00:35:23 Speaker 1: He's walking. That's a big rivalry too. Yeah, defending the AFC used to be nasty. I mean they were the Super Bowl favorites coming the year, so he could walk out and go, look, I beat the Super Bowl favorites. 00:35:32 Speaker 2: What do you want me? I think you gited it was a third string quarterback. 00:35:36 Speaker 3: But if he doesn't already have a cigar in his mouth right now about beating the Chiefs for this walk off, think you gotta take it. Shane Buckle was the quarterback today of the Chiefs. 00:35:45 Speaker 1: I know that he used to coach the Cardinals or that was Joe Bugle. The reason I know she's a person, right, Yeah, look up, see if there was a guy named Joe Buckle. Anyway, go ahead about Shane Buckle. 00:35:58 Speaker 3: The reason I know that is because he is when I hit my breaking point, there were so many quarterbacks that I've never heard of today and then I just threw my arms in the air when she Bule was in over Chris Oladuken or whatever. 00:36:09 Speaker 2: Yeah, am I right about Joe Bugle? 00:36:11 Speaker 3: Yeah? 00:36:12 Speaker 1: Like he kind of looked like he probably smoked and played poker. 00:36:17 Speaker 2: Is he is that what he looks like? 00:36:18 Speaker 3: Yeah? No, he does. Yeah, don't he look like a guy who beats the line coach. Yeah, played at Western Kentucky. I think he also coached the Raiders, didn't he Yes, head coach, I believe the Raiders and the Card ninety ninety six. Yep, and Raiders head coach in ninety seven said you were right. 00:36:38 Speaker 1: Like you act like you discovered new information. We landed on the moon. Uh. The Bears and the Eagles both had to win to be the two seat. He either went up. The Bears played their starters, played awful for three basically three quarters, and then got really hot in the fourth quarter, nearly won the game, should have gone for it on fourth down, didn't. Lines end up winning, so it looks like they've lost a two seed. But then the Eagles chose not to play their starters and end up the three seat. Both teams lost, so it didn't matter. But I think the Eagles probably win if they play their starters at least have a good chance. I think that was a mistake, huge mistake, and if I'm an Eagles fan, I'm livid. It's the Commanders with Josh Johnson at quarterback, just play our guys, get a comfortable league, then bench him. But he rested Barkley hurts most key starters, and you look losing a game you should never lost in the first place, and losing the number two seed. 00:37:40 Speaker 3: I can't believe he did that. They started Tanner McKee at quarterback from Stanford. 00:37:46 Speaker 1: Maybe you're gonna get that. 00:37:48 Speaker 3: Maybe Sirianni just listens to Cover zero and thought, I got a Stanford quarterback, right, Yeah, we'll just use him. 00:37:52 Speaker 1: But I can't believe he did that Tanner. But Tanner McKee played okay. 00:37:57 Speaker 3: He was all right, But you're you tried to be smart and get one over. I think didn't that. I think had an injury in the last week. It was very predictable the Bears could lose. 00:38:07 Speaker 1: I think they were the underdog because I think people thought they might not play a. 00:38:12 Speaker 3: Point and a half or something like that. 00:38:13 Speaker 1: Yeah, so why, I mean to me, the Packers, who you would play as the two seed, are a much better opponent for the Eagles than the forty nine ers who they're gonna play. 00:38:26 Speaker 2: I don't get this. 00:38:27 Speaker 1: I feel like Sirianni deserves a lot of questioning about it. 00:38:31 Speaker 3: Yeah, if I'm an Eagles fan, I'm looking at today and what we need to do, and like, okay, Bears got the Lions, we have the Commanders, we have a great draw. Let's finish this off. And then I'm watching Commanders at home, and I'm watching Tank Bigsby and tannerm Key on my team that I think is a contender. Yeah, I'm living. 00:38:47 Speaker 1: I think I don't know this share. I think Tank Bigsby has played in the NFL since nineteen ninety one. Since ninety one, Billy, I feel like he's been Hasn't that a name? First of his name is Tank. That seems like you're running back from the early nineties. How long has Tank Bigsby been in the league? 00:39:06 Speaker 3: I think he went to Auburn, but I'm he is Auburn, but I don't know how long. 00:39:10 Speaker 1: That's why I think he's because I heard him when he was at Auburn, and. 00:39:14 Speaker 3: Auburn with their tanks and their Cadillacs. 00:39:16 Speaker 4: So he was drafted in twenty twenty three in the third round. So he's played for the Jags and the Eagles. So you mean he was born in nineteen ninety one. 00:39:23 Speaker 3: I think that's what you were trying to one in two thousand and one. 00:39:26 Speaker 1: You know, all these numbers run together. I think his parents met in nineteen ninety one. That's what I was thinking. Yeah, that was it. I think that's what I meant. Then Saturday nine, Seahawks beat the forty nine ers to get the one seed. Seahawks are the Super Bowl favorites by the odds. Does that seem right. 00:39:52 Speaker 3: Now? That they have the one seed in the by obviously, that gives them the edge, but their defense off also answered a big question. Forty nine ers have a great offense, and they went in there and almost shut him out, held him to three points in a game with seeding on the line. So we already know Darnold's having the good and that offense has been great, but that defense holding into three was a big statement to me, so I agree with it. 00:40:12 Speaker 1: So on my ESPN show, Myron goes, I'm going on record Seahawks over the Jags in the Super Bowl, and I started laughing. I was like, are you crazy? That's the most ridiculous thing. And then I realized the Seahawks are the one seed, the Jags are the three. It's not crazy at all, But that sounds like a ludicrous super Bowl that, like chat GPT would come up. 00:40:34 Speaker 3: Well, if you said that before that you think you're crazy Sam Darnold that Minnesota just got rid of versus Trevor Lawn Liam Cohen. Yeah, I mean you know that, just as I said, the Seahawks defense had that big statement. The Jags going and beating the Broncos in Denver two weeks ago was a big statement too. So I don't think it's crazy at all. 00:40:50 Speaker 1: Do you ever see when these graphics get put up chat GPT predicts the next yeah, seventy NFL champs or whatever. I saw one the other day it was chat GPT does the next seventy five NFL champions and it had in twenty fifty three a gross free store winning which one it was literally like Harris Teeter, and then it was all got money on Kroger. It was all NFL teams, and then like twenty fifty three was Harris Teeter, and then like twenty sixty. 00:41:22 Speaker 3: Two was Kiss the band expansion. Hey, I still has its flaws. 00:41:27 Speaker 1: And that's where I was like, you know what, why do we our entire economy for people who don't follow the economy. Our entire stock market is propped up on the idea that AI is going to be big. But when they pick a grocery store to win the NFL championship. I'm questioning the information I get off of there. 00:41:50 Speaker 3: I just saw one of these last week who had the Titans winning in five years. That might be crazier than the grocery store. 00:41:56 Speaker 1: Yeah. And then I saw one with the NBA and it was like the next seventy five years, and it was seventy four NBA teams and then and then the Cincinnati Reds congrats. 00:42:10 Speaker 3: Well, it's like when people edit a photo and you're like, wow, that looks real, and then you're like, wait a minute, why do they have eight fingers? It's like check the ai and just quite there to perfect it. Yet you're still getting the Harris Theater Super Bowl pick. 00:42:21 Speaker 2: Yeah. 00:42:22 Speaker 1: So I don't know. I feel like I feel like you got to be careful about those the chat GPT, you know, champions, because I fall for him because I'll see it say Kentucky's go win the basketball title in like twenty thirty one, and I'm like, oh man, they already know our class. 00:42:39 Speaker 3: Yeah, the robots. 00:42:40 Speaker 2: Then when I saw Harris Teeter was winning the NFL. 00:42:43 Speaker 3: Or what do we not know about Harris Teeter? Is it that the AI is wrong or is that we just can't wrap our minds around what Harris Theater could be working on. 00:42:51 Speaker 1: Have you ever been to uh, have you ever been to a Harris Teeter? 00:42:55 Speaker 3: I'm not, I'm not. 00:42:56 Speaker 2: That's like the North Carolina. 00:42:58 Speaker 3: Yeah that then they're in Tennessee as well. I've seen them, just had the pleasure. That's the North Carolina one. 00:43:03 Speaker 1: Yeah. So right here here's one. This is this chat TBD picks. Now this isn't the one I saw earlier. The next fifty Super Bowls they have in twenty sixty eight the London England Monarchs. 00:43:16 Speaker 3: Oh did they create So. 00:43:18 Speaker 1: They're creating a national team, naming it and predicting it will win the Super Bowl. 00:43:26 Speaker 3: That's pretty crazy. There'll be a team in London. I tell you what if in like five years they announced a team called the London Monarchs. I'm running and making a bet for Super Bowl twenty sixty eight. Even just getting the name right would be impressive. 00:43:39 Speaker 1: It would be very impressive. All right, So playoffs now they announced the schedule. One of the things that this is. This tells you how I've listened to Bill Simmons too much over the years. He has for as long as I've known. There's apparently a pizza place in Los Angeles that is really bad that he and his friends always get together and watch the first Saturday NFL playoff game every year because it's usually the worst one, and they call it the Shaky's Game because Shaky's Pizza. 00:44:14 Speaker 2: Is apparently bad. 00:44:15 Speaker 1: I've thought about that a lot over the years because I wonder if Shakey's Pizza. Do you think they like that publicity because it's not like he igned. He says they go there because it's so bad. 00:44:26 Speaker 3: I mean, maybe they look forward to that day and they double their staff. But if I go to LA, I haven't been in a lot. 00:44:34 Speaker 1: There's a part of me that we want to go seeing because I know people have to go there to see is it as bad as everybody says? And chances are look up Look up Billy Shakey's Pizza in LA because I'm gonna bet you there are reviews that say, not as bad as Bill Simmons makes it out to be. 00:44:52 Speaker 3: It has to be good enough to at least keep the lights on so someone's eating there, even if it's only a couple of people a week. 00:44:58 Speaker 1: I've also wondered, since they talk about it every year, and you know when it is, don't you think Bill Simmons fans like Jim I mean Kimmel goes. 00:45:07 Speaker 3: Yeah, you'd think there'd be a line off the door. Knowing people that go like people could just think, I'm gonna create my own watch party. 00:45:13 Speaker 1: With this hang out with these guys that I like. So I've often wondered how that would work. What are their reviews? Like Shaky's Pizza. 00:45:21 Speaker 4: It's a four point one out of five on Yelp, and the first person says, I've been coming to Shakey's for over twenty years and it never disappoints. 00:45:30 Speaker 3: The food and the service are always bomb. It's got me craving Shaky's Pizza. 00:45:36 Speaker 4: Then Crust Pizza, Mojo's and Chicken always hit the spot. 00:45:41 Speaker 2: That sounds good. 00:45:42 Speaker 3: Well, next year we don't go to Buffalo. We asked our bosses if the lit'll take us to Shaky's. 00:45:48 Speaker 1: Well, this year, the Shaky's game is what Bill Simmons always calls it. 00:45:52 Speaker 2: He predicted it would be whoever won the NFC South. 00:45:55 Speaker 1: He was correct. It was the Its, the Rams and the Panthers. We will preview these more on Wednesday, but early thoughts. First of all, congratulate the Texans. The Texans have been a wild card team eight times and have played the four thirty Saturday game eight times. This is the first time in their history that they are at wild Card weekend and not the first Saturday game. 00:46:19 Speaker 3: Yeah, so it took took a ninth trip to the playoffs. But congrats on the Texans for not getting this one. But I'm gonna agree with the Shaky's crew. It was a lock to get the Panthers. I know they're excited that they won. We're excited for a guy Carolina, Mike, but this was this was a lock, and I should be the Rams in a route and we won't give away our picks. But this this deserved the four thirty spot. The Rams just lost to Carolina a couple. 00:46:41 Speaker 1: Of weeks ago, but I think that's more likely they went, yeah, I got Well, I'm not gonna get my pickaway, but I'm gonna be a lot of money on it. 00:46:47 Speaker 3: I think on this one we could maybe lean to let people know we're going. 00:46:50 Speaker 7: The Rams Saturday night. 00:47:06 Speaker 1: But I think it's probably the best in terms of marquee game of the entire playoffs. Amazon Prime gets kind of an interesting decision the Bears and the Packers. I mean that to me is the marquee game of the first round. Do you agree with that we. 00:47:22 Speaker 3: Just got this twice in the last couple of weeks, didn't disappoint ready for round three? The question is how excited are you being your team with some real chance here? 00:47:30 Speaker 1: Even though to get two and five against the Packers in the playoffs historically, but we did beat him twice this year. Hard to beat the team three times. Everybody always says, I don't think that's true. 00:47:42 Speaker 3: Are you worried you're limping in? Lost the last two games I don't care about today. 00:47:46 Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I mean, but could have won them up like they both came down the final. I mean the Bears every game this year's coming down the final play I don't know. 00:47:55 Speaker 2: You have to tell me how how healthy Jordan Love's gonna be. I mean, if he's going to be healthy, I think they're probably we should. We could have lost. 00:48:02 Speaker 1: Both those games to the Packers, so I'm probably I'm a little nervous about it. But to me, this is all you're playing with house money here, Like I don't expect us to do anything. Be in the two seed is crazy. 00:48:15 Speaker 3: What does a Matt Jones viewing experience look like? You're going a Jersey? 00:48:18 Speaker 1: Do you watch its playing during the game. 00:48:19 Speaker 3: Oh, it's a night game, isn't it? 00:48:21 Speaker 1: Today? 00:48:21 Speaker 3: He plays at eight thirty and the Bears played eight with the Titans in a Saturday game. It's the worst. 00:48:28 Speaker 1: It's the one downside and it's both on cable. One of them's on streaming, So I can't I can't do the box. I'm gonna have to like literally restart my television to flip from one game to the other. So I guess I'll watch the Bears on my phone. Yeah, so I don't like it, but that's Amazon Prime. So there are some whispers this could be out Michael's last game, hopefully going to go out on though. If you were him right, I feel like he should be part of that Travis Kelsey friend group. The fourth couple was just him and his wife skimming the Aspen ske trip together. They're all in the hot tub, Al Michaels, Travis Kelcey, they'd like a hockey player. 00:49:12 Speaker 3: I think. Who are the other two guys? Yeah, it's just two random hands once of a hockey player. Aaron Andrews is married to. 00:49:18 Speaker 1: You know, we have a friend who used to date arew what if he was part of that? Like what if he had become a hot tub with Al Michael? But I mean, like we you and I have a very good friend that dated Aaron Andrews for a long time, and like what if what if he was like Taylor's bestie? Oh that's crazy. 00:49:35 Speaker 3: We could be getting all the NFL scoop. 00:49:36 Speaker 1: On trav Maybe we could have met her, we could have gotten in the hot tub with Al Michael. 00:49:44 Speaker 3: I'll be in there. Would help our chances nothing, because they. 00:49:47 Speaker 2: Let anybody in. 00:49:48 Speaker 1: Uh. Bill's Jags are the early game on on Sunday, I do think. 00:49:56 Speaker 2: I think that's all. 00:49:57 Speaker 1: The Bills are favorite, which is kind of crazy because objectively, the Jaguars have been a much better team. But who wants to bet against Josh Allen with Trevor Lawrence. I could see any result in that game, you know what I mean? I could see either team blowing the other one out. And it just. 00:50:14 Speaker 3: Feels weird that this like Jacksonville gets to play out. I know they've been awesome, they deserve it, but just seeing Josh Allen's path goes through Jacksonville just doesn't feel hard. 00:50:23 Speaker 1: What if I told you that to go to the super Bowl, Josh Allen might have to beat Trevor Lawrence in two second year quarterback. 00:50:29 Speaker 3: That's crazy. It's all deserved and it's all all season. But I'm just putting myself in September. It's John Brown versus Josh Allen. That's right. Made him change his name another another reason for this, But we thought going for the year at least, I thought this is the year he finally gets over the hump. Just him having to play at the at the Hot Tub Stadium and the first step they're exciting people, just not people all pe there was just p and then. 00:51:00 Speaker 1: There's do you think they don't allow bikinis all the all the swimsuits are one pieces. 00:51:06 Speaker 3: Think it's a one piece rule. I actually do, because you don't want to get too scantily clad. 00:51:11 Speaker 1: And they also don't see one pieces a lot in life anymore. But that's it. That's that's all that's in now that pool. I think there's a one piece rule. They don't want to trash it up with some Is there one? Are you looking it up. 00:51:25 Speaker 3: He's going to try to find the rules. Yeah, but I don't have it here. And there was also just getting tested before you get in there. I think that should be the rule. There was also a guy in a Lucha Libre mask. You and say he was also wearing one thing. Not, I didn't see the mask. 00:51:37 Speaker 1: No, there's a guy wearing like a Lucha Librey mask and a T shirt. 00:51:42 Speaker 3: That's just because he doesn't want his family to know he got in the hot tub at a Jags game. They didn't want to get cold played on TV. Picture of the Jacksonville pool today, I saw a bunch of people in there. I did not see the mask. Yeah, and he was sitting back just like enjoying it. Tell you he did not want people to know he was in there. He bought a single ticket, left his family and kids at home and went and got in the Jags pool because he's so excited, been Mark Burneill. 00:52:07 Speaker 1: Yeah it was really now you think it was? Yeah, look at this, See he looks there's the guy right there. 00:52:13 Speaker 3: He's just sitting there in his with the Lucha Libre mask. 00:52:17 Speaker 1: That's a man with two children in front of him. 00:52:20 Speaker 3: Maybe he definitely didn't want to be on TV. He took his kids there. 00:52:24 Speaker 1: Yeah, you can't take your kids there. But look, it's like one pieces. There's a chill child that has a lifeguard thing on. He can't be the life guard. That kid is too young. And then a man is just sitting back with his. 00:52:38 Speaker 3: LU shirt on. You might have a grill in Billy sent her buying Jacksonville's grills. How many girls are in the photo? 00:52:45 Speaker 2: So gross? Anyway, that game's at one o'clock. 00:52:48 Speaker 4: Did you see what Buffalo Josh Allen did today to keep his consecutive starting streak. He did one snap, did a handoff. 00:52:56 Speaker 2: Yeah. I can't get too upset about that. 00:52:57 Speaker 1: I mean Cayl Ripkin used to do that when he was breaking the baseball street. He had a couple of games he. 00:53:03 Speaker 3: Just came in power outage for him. 00:53:05 Speaker 2: Yeah, because of Kevin Gostner. 00:53:07 Speaker 3: By the way, you're all your old quarterback. 00:53:09 Speaker 2: True, I don't think your. 00:53:10 Speaker 3: Bears quarterback great place of Josh Allen four touchdowns he plays though. Yeah, another reason watching Trubisky versus Brady Cook on my TV today, I didn't feel right. The four thirty game is forty nine ers and Eagles. That's a good game, right, it's Sirianni gonna play Hurts and Barkley and the crew are going to take. 00:53:31 Speaker 1: A rest in the first half for the second half. 00:53:33 Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a great Ferstone. I'm not an Eagles believer. I said that last week before they choked and benched everybody. 00:53:38 Speaker 2: I'm picking the Eagles in that game, though the forty nine Ers have no offense. 00:53:40 Speaker 3: Well, that's your original Week one cover zero pick is that they'd have a great record and not do anything in the playoffs. So this big moment for you coming up to. 00:53:47 Speaker 2: That's exactly right. 00:53:49 Speaker 3: Then the night game is Chargers, Chargers, Yep, Chargers that patsy. 00:53:54 Speaker 2: I'm gonna go ahead and pick the Chargers. Put me down. 00:53:58 Speaker 3: You know what. I didn't know you're gonna do this, but when the schedule came out, I considered it. I'm gonna let you have it, but it popped in my head that could be upsets special. I just think the Chargers weakness has been their offensive line, but the Patriots have not done a great job getting to the passer. 00:54:13 Speaker 1: So I think that's okay. And Drake may is really good, but I don't know. I just feel like, I think the Patriots has such an easy schedule, so I mean, it's got to catch up to him at some point. 00:54:27 Speaker 3: Yeah, they just playoff and it. 00:54:29 Speaker 1: Clearly want to play them because they didn't try to move up. They wanted the Patriot. They want to smoke. Yeah, it's just too wide open this year. I think we're gonna get a good upset and that could be the one to do it. One of these top seeds is going out in their first game. Chris collinsway by the way, apparently signed off tonight going like all great movies you attend, it catches you off guard. But this is about as much fun as I've had watching a football game in a long time. That quote doesn't make a lot of sense. First of all, when I go to a great movie, I've usually expected to be pretty good. 00:55:04 Speaker 3: That's why I went. 00:55:05 Speaker 2: It didn't catch me off guard like. 00:55:07 Speaker 1: Saw the trailer, Like, I mean, I want to go see one battle after another. I think it's gonna be good. 00:55:11 Speaker 3: Oh, I got that downloaded on my pedge. It's gonna catch me. 00:55:14 Speaker 2: Off guard if it's not good. 00:55:16 Speaker 1: And then he goes and plus, didn't everybody think Raven Steelers was gonna be good. Yeah, it was better than we thought, but like it didn't catch me off guard. I was like expecting this is gonna be a great game. 00:55:27 Speaker 3: Yeah, when I woke up this morning, I was the one I was most excited about. 00:55:30 Speaker 1: Yeah, so I don't really understand that one. He also said at the end, the gods wanted Aaron Rodgers to play again. 00:55:41 Speaker 3: The gods hate Tyler Loop is what he's saying. 00:55:43 Speaker 1: I mean, see, now you've gotten a pet peeve of mine. When people in a situation where there's a winner and a loser, and when people like players or athletes say God was with us tonight, I always want to go, do you think God hates the other team? 00:56:02 Speaker 3: You're implying he was not over there? 00:56:03 Speaker 1: You think God is like Tyler Loop. I'm going to make your life miserable for the next I don't know. Ask Scott Norwood how it goes when you miss these kicks. So like if God, I would say to Chris Consworth, if God wants Aaron Rodgers to win, what about Lamar? He prays Thanks God often. Actually, yeah, God's not like me. Maybe thanks God more than Aaron Rodgers. 00:56:34 Speaker 3: God's not like me and his recliner at noon, trying to pick us out in all these games from four one o'clock. You know, he likes both us to spread. 00:56:41 Speaker 1: He's a great point. God just sits there and goes. 00:56:45 Speaker 2: To bless today and a. 00:56:48 Speaker 3: He watches the shows and gets the fantasy lineups and then picks his said. 00:56:52 Speaker 1: Let's see, should I bless Lamar Jackson, a wonderful young man who has delighted thousands, or Aaron Rodgers. I won't even go further with what he could say. All right, we'll go to the final game, Aaron Rodgers. We'll play against the Texans. They go from Saturday afternoon to Monday night. Good job, Taxans, want to turnaround? Who do you like? 00:57:21 Speaker 3: Proud of you? I thought the Steelers would beat the Ravens to get into this. I'm worried they're going to run out of gas this This should be a good matchup, though. It's just surprising to even see the Texans here at all, and really before starting the year surprised with the Steelers too. This will be of all the all the matchups, I think this could be one of the better ones, which is why it gets the night to itself. 00:57:42 Speaker 2: I agree. I think it'll be really good. Did you find out the rules about the pool? 00:57:46 Speaker 4: Not the rules, but if you want a pool, it starts at seventeen grand and you get you get thirty five tickets, You get your own personal cabana, you get up to fifty. 00:57:55 Speaker 1: There are multiple pools. 00:57:57 Speaker 3: I thought there's just one. No, it's just the one and it costs thirty five. Seventeen grand is what it's done. You get thirty five tickets. That actually answered a question for me. So we're seeing these people, they're all part of a group. I thought you could get like a single and you're in there with stranger, so like it could be any walk of life that you're swimming with. 00:58:13 Speaker 1: So that means the Lucha libre guy. See, I thought he bought one and then like that family was there and he just got in the pool. 00:58:21 Speaker 3: If I'm more concerned that he knows them, that eases my concerns that he knows them. So I really, I really want to go to it. 00:58:30 Speaker 2: You're not gonna do. 00:58:31 Speaker 3: It next year. No, I'm gonna treat you all. We're gonna I'm gonna get the pull tickets, okay. 00:58:37 Speaker 1: So gross Bill, you get the masks, all right? So I mean, let me warn you about what we're gonna do uh on the midweek podcast. 00:58:43 Speaker 2: Are you get me able to be there? 00:58:44 Speaker 1: No? 00:58:45 Speaker 3: Remotely. Yeah, I'm on VACA. I'm taking my mic. 00:58:47 Speaker 2: We're going to. 00:58:49 Speaker 1: We're gonna do a touchdown pick in every game, and we won't even do it by position. You can pick anybody but wold draft. So like, one game, Drew will go first than Billy to me, next game will be Billy first than me and you. But we'll do all six games and we will each have six uh to down picks. All right? I like it? Do you like it? Because I guess you and I tied in the regular seats at five and he had four. So we'll keep it going then through the playoffs, but we'll have more you have more options to score. Do you like that? 00:59:18 Speaker 3: Yeah? And we'll lock in and fill out our brackets too. 00:59:20 Speaker 2: Yeah. 00:59:21 Speaker 3: Let me ask you. 00:59:22 Speaker 1: I can't remember the NFL used to do it where in the second round the higher seed would always play the lowest seed. They still do that. 00:59:28 Speaker 3: Receed, receed, receed every round. 00:59:30 Speaker 1: Yep. 00:59:30 Speaker 3: Okay, so Denver and Seattle will get the worst team. 00:59:34 Speaker 2: Do you like that? 00:59:35 Speaker 3: I do? In some sports, I like the cinderell aspect. Obviously march madness. But NFL give me, give me the best teams in the best scenario. 00:59:43 Speaker 1: But I would say so in honesty if I were to look at this thing. How many teams in the playoffs do we think have zero chance to win the Super Bowl? All right? I think Pittsburgh has zero chance to win the Super Bowl? 00:59:55 Speaker 3: Carolina? 00:59:56 Speaker 1: I think Carolina has zero chance to win the Super Bowl. I think an argument can be made that, maybe for the first time that I can ever remember, you could make a case for the other twelve. I think the Chargers would be unlikely, So let's just go to eleven. But I genuinely think eleven teams could win the Super Bowl, and I'm not sure that that's ever been true. Do you agree with that? 01:00:23 Speaker 3: Yeah? I completely agree. The top of the line, no one is truly like elite, elite elite. Most years there's a team where you know, somebody have to knock them off. We don't have that this year. And then what are you just looking at the seating? Your six seeds are? What the Bills and the forty nine ers are your six seeds? 01:00:39 Speaker 1: Yeah? I mean? 01:00:40 Speaker 3: Or no? 01:00:41 Speaker 1: No, the Bills in the Rams or forty forty nine, I mean those that's that's pretty good. 01:00:47 Speaker 3: Yeah, that's that's some contenders. As a wild card. 01:00:50 Speaker 1: Eleven teams could win the Super Bowl. I would that's amazing. So it's going to be arguably the most open playoff of all time. There's not one team in the playoffs that I think is guaranteed to win their first game. 01:01:07 Speaker 3: Well, I agree. I mean we were just talking. Even the Pants the Rams to me have the best chance, but the Panthers beat the Rams just a couple of weeks ago, two weeks ago. So it's why I'm so looking forward to it. And it's gonna be hard to predict. 01:01:20 Speaker 4: And Monday is Black Monday. We saw Raheem Morris get fired. 01:01:24 Speaker 1: Yeah, well that'll probably be what we do with midweek. I was talking about who got fired, Raheem Morris. 01:01:29 Speaker 3: Likely he's out, so it's the GM. Maybe the Tides will keeping people on the edge of this for Wednesday, and we don't want to give away our ser. 01:01:37 Speaker 2: Alert Morris is fired. 01:01:40 Speaker 1: I got a spoiler, by the way, today, I'm pretty upset about an article about one of the you know, there's a hockey show where like everybody kisses. You know, there's what I haven't seen it. I just know that it's called like heated rob for you know, it's a real show. You're just sending like a hockey pregame show. 01:01:59 Speaker 3: And if I was just said kissing, it was hurd weeks. Okay, let's check that out. 01:02:08 Speaker 2: Just kissing. 01:02:13 Speaker 1: And I don't know I'm watching the wrong shows. No, there's a show. Have you not heard about this show? 01:02:21 Speaker 3: I haven't. 01:02:22 Speaker 1: Well, I won't go into the details. It's very popular on UH with with women and UH. One of the main characters on the show. He was being profiled in New York magazine. You know, I'm like the last person in the world. Story it's hard copy magazine. Very excited have my New York magazine was going to read on the plane. First story is a profile of this gay this guy on the Hockey Show with Steve Eiserman. 01:02:47 Speaker 2: Right, so he he in it. 01:02:51 Speaker 1: They say he got his start and one of his big breaks was Joker Part two. Okay, that just came out a year or two ago. I have not seen that yet. I love Joker Part one. Haven't seen it. They say in the article he got his break playing the guy who killed Joker at the end of Joker Part two? Spoiler spoiler, what article didn't spoiled it for me? 01:03:18 Speaker 3: They gotta warn you, I had no idea for us. 01:03:20 Speaker 1: Did you all never see Joker Part two? Have you all seen Joker one? Well? I heard it was bad, That's what I did watching it. But I mean, we've all that's an interesting thing. Did you all like Joker one? 01:03:30 Speaker 3: Loved it? 01:03:30 Speaker 1: I thought it was great, and yet not one of us decided to see Joker Part two? Isn't that weird? Well? I remember the reviews were terrible, and I hate when I have something I like they try to redo it, make a surprising. 01:03:42 Speaker 3: It was a musical, is it? Yeah? Oh, musicals? 01:03:48 Speaker 1: Musicals their hit or miss. 01:03:51 Speaker 5: What guy got big in it got well by the way he dies at the end, and this other guy from the Hockey Show apparently when they're kissing, they were the kiss he kills him and like then says he's the Joker on the Hockey Kissing Show. 01:04:09 Speaker 1: And that's Joker three. Anyway, The point was. 01:04:13 Speaker 3: It spoiled the movie for me, just like an off hand and comment, and. 01:04:16 Speaker 1: Now spoiled it for all the rest of you. Well, you also spoiled spoiled Stranger things on the show too, did I we. 01:04:24 Speaker 3: Put a spoiler alert on that show? 01:04:26 Speaker 2: Yeah, well did we really? 01:04:28 Speaker 3: And on Wednesday again, coming up Wednesday, we'll spoil who wins the Superhowl. 01:04:34 Speaker 2: That's exactly right. 01:04:35 Speaker 1: Enjoy your vacation, by the way, Thank you and later. This has been the. 01:04:39 Speaker 2: NFL Cover Zero. 01:04:49 Speaker 1: NFL Cover zero with Matt Jones and Drew Franklin is a production of the NFL and iHeart podcast.
