[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome to the Forty K-Lorecast.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hello and welcome to Forty K. Lorkas with me, John Varsani and Brad Chester.
[SPEAKER_01]: This game.
[SPEAKER_01]: On today's cast, we're going to continue our dive into the jukari with the focus bit more in structure and some of them methodology.
[SPEAKER_01]: As always.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's a nice range for that methodology.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: As always, please like and comment in the cast.
[SPEAKER_01]: The comments are both hilarious but also helpful to us.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a great way because by you commenting, it really does expand our reach to more listeners and grows us organically.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, for those of you who are looking for a more active engagement around Forty-K University, we have a discord.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you go to the about on the show, as I can click a link there, they'll take you to our completely free discord.
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, there's people out there who charge for discord and shame on those people.
[SPEAKER_03]: Which just had a wildly successful painting event.
[SPEAKER_01]: There was a wildly successful painting event.
[SPEAKER_01]: Either last week or depending on when you're listening to this three years ago.
[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the internet stuff's there for a while.
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, so our discord link is there.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you weren't looking to interact around all things for DK, it's a really fun, healthy and supportive community.
[SPEAKER_01]: Big thanks to Kevin and the new mods who've actually taken over this and really organized the discord out made it way more useful than we did.
[SPEAKER_01]: Functional now.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: The best part about it is there's a place.
[SPEAKER_03]: I really think there's a place for everybody on this because we've got everything from
[SPEAKER_03]: fiction, video games, it's, it's, it's everything, it's just, there's something that if you love this type of content, there's something for you in there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's built in a way to make it really friendly people who are newer to the hobby and who have been there for a while because it's designed
[SPEAKER_01]: The goal behind the discord is to uplift.
[SPEAKER_01]: As she everything we do is about uplifting.
[SPEAKER_01]: We want someone to come into and play in the game for a while.
[SPEAKER_01]: We hope that our cast is entertaining for you.
[SPEAKER_01]: You learn something new.
[SPEAKER_01]: People who are new to it.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what our cast is about.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what the discord is for.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, I've always thought for the kid was interesting.
[SPEAKER_01]: I want to know more about playing it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Come on in.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, I like reading about this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Come on in.
[SPEAKER_01]: Or I own every book Black Library has ever made and I want to talk about them.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also a spot for you.
[SPEAKER_01]: So if anyone is looking at your actions there, it's also a great way to give us feedback.
[SPEAKER_01]: As I've said before, I missed pronounced red new apparently because people explained that to me and that was the way off on there.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the best place to tell us that we got stuff wrong or ask us for some new stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: We had some casts coming up in the near future who were going to be completely listed or driven.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we've already had them.
[SPEAKER_01]: That was a hit.
[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, for that, come on in.
[SPEAKER_01]: We couldn't like you guys more.
[SPEAKER_01]: Additionally, when the show notes was also linked to our Patreon, this is something we put together for people to help us out and kind of continue to upgrade equipment.
[SPEAKER_01]: I realize we need to get something for these tables every time Brad and I pick our drink up or put it down.
[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have to hear it.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what we use the Patreon for.
[SPEAKER_01]: It helps us get more equipment to improve the audio brightness.
[SPEAKER_01]: Very sheepishly picked up his doctor pepper, as I said that.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, try to put it down.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm trying to put it down.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to put it down.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to put it down.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying to put it down, I'm trying to put it down, I'm trying to put it down, I'm trying to put it down, I'm trying to put it down, I'm trying to put it down, I'm trying to put it down, I'm trying to put it down, I'm trying to put it down, I'm trying to put it down, I'm trying to put it down, I'm trying to put it down, I'm trying to put it down, I'm trying to put it down, I'm trying to put it down, I'm trying to put it down, I'm trying to put it down, I'm trying to put it down, I'm trying to put it down, I'm
[SPEAKER_01]: Lastly, though, we have a website.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the website is called TheFortyKlorcast.com.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's got links to everything I just mentioned along with merchandise that's on Etsy.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's also a link to that in the show notes.
[SPEAKER_01]: That time this publication may not actually not be live on the website, but I'm working on it.
[SPEAKER_01]: More and more, though, there's a page there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Don't care to Brad's coaching services.
[SPEAKER_01]: After
[SPEAKER_01]: Thirty, almost thirty years of playing the game and coaching it for close to ten, Brad's a pretty good coach of the game.
[SPEAKER_03]: I do stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I just did stuff before I came here.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is what Brad does.
[SPEAKER_01]: He coaches people in Forty Kay.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a really nice resource for anyone who wants to play the game or thought who is playing the game, wants to play at a higher level from all the way from complete brand new new, all the way up to like tournament preparation.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's got all that stuff because he knows it well.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I really do, aside from being like a, a shield a pitch em, which is not what this is.
[SPEAKER_01]: I've known Brad for a long time.
[SPEAKER_01]: He really does want more people to put it the game, because that's more people enjoying the game, which means it's, it's, the game itself is improving.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you can reach him by going to our website with liking on the link, going to our discordic link on the link, or emailing him at old man Brad for thekidgmail.com.
[SPEAKER_01]: Just so you won't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: We took it out because Brad wanted us to take it out and everyone made us put it back in.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the only reason I put it back in is Brad gets so much spammy mail.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, it's insane.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because when you say, even if you just say your email address out loud in the podcast, there's not digitization up there that now every spambot on the planet is aware of his email address.
[SPEAKER_03]: Also, if I haven't gotten to you and you email me,
[SPEAKER_03]: sense something again because there's a lot of times they don't get through.
[SPEAKER_03]: I can't figure out how to set my spam up enough to combat the way the hordes of invaders that
[SPEAKER_01]: We may just have to change your email address on the Discord and the website to one that's more functional.
[SPEAKER_01]: And this one can be your, you know, there's, it might the only one who has a separate email address for one I have to go to a weird website and put it in my information.
[SPEAKER_01]: I have a spam email.
[SPEAKER_03]: I have my email with the number two.
[SPEAKER_01]: I've got an entire spam email.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what you need.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, back to your car.
[SPEAKER_01]: Back to your car.
[SPEAKER_01]: So,
[SPEAKER_01]: As we said last time, Vect has now effectively conquered Commira, and now he's had a rule it.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm a huge fan of, you know, I'm a huge fan of your car, the Jew-carry and lore.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're horrible, horrible creatures, but the lore is exceptional.
[SPEAKER_03]: Also, there's no way that we're not gonna start this by saying it's Vect's new groove.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I was gonna totally skip that.
[SPEAKER_03]: God.
[SPEAKER_01]: anyway.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that decides to remake comma and the way that he thinks it should function.
[SPEAKER_03]: And let's let's back it up though.
[SPEAKER_03]: That, whoa, it's not like that just won the election.
[SPEAKER_03]: That just did the godfather.
[SPEAKER_01]: He just slaughtered everybody.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, in charge.
[SPEAKER_03]: My point is he just went, hey, how are you guys normally keeping power?
[SPEAKER_03]: I murdered everyone.
[SPEAKER_03]: And this is a all at the same time coordinated effort, you know,
[SPEAKER_01]: thing it's he's not just walking in and like hey transfer a power now like everyone's dead that wasn't charge of things with that way to do those he wanted to build something similar to the old version but different there's a like a kickbox for a long time and the ties have this great phrase called same same but different um i love it it's there it's a very polite way of saying your punch is wrong
[SPEAKER_01]: That's the same thing, but different.
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, but not wrong.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's kind of what that came in here.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the prior noble houses, they kept their power really despite a threat of violence.
[SPEAKER_01]: You could go, and they all, because you could oppose one or more of them, but you don't have to fight them.
[SPEAKER_01]: And these heads had so much wealth, and there was so large that
[SPEAKER_01]: It was a battle you would inevitably lose.
[SPEAKER_01]: Even if you took one of them out, the other houses would come in and just wreck you.
[SPEAKER_01]: So now that that is the only leader, he can't rely on the fact that if someone wants to attack him, someone else would come in and get him.
[SPEAKER_01]: He has to completely hold the power himself.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he does this in a way that basically the best way to describe it as pirate lord or pirate king.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to make sure that all of the subjects below him, no one of size actually wants to kill him or undermine him because things are better.
[SPEAKER_01]: So in this way, that's a good person.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, he also reorganized in such a different way because he wants everybody to want to get what they want, but also he wants to punish anybody that stops that, but he wants people to know that.
[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, he makes sure that like, hey, this person cross me and because that because John cross me,
[SPEAKER_03]: you now don't get what you want it.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I'm not saying you should do something to John.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying that well, he stopped you from getting this and he does and he cross plays and it's incredibly hard to rise to power without vex blessing because of this because if you work against him to Brad's point, he not only he might, he may kill you, but more likely he's when he influence others to kill you.
[SPEAKER_01]: But what
[SPEAKER_01]: Vective really cleverly here though, was he realized that Kamara had an almost, almost, has an endless thirst for power.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he had to figure out a way to create so much resource that that power that that thirst could be.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, it has a place to control.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it could be, well, it could also be quenched, but yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the first thing he does is a massive expansion of Kamara.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, camera is, it's a city, but it's also a, like, a universe in, in and of itself.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's spread throughout web ways.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so as you go through camera, you know, it's, you'll, you're like, come around a corner and walk through an archway and you're going to teleport in an instant, the thousand light years.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we don't really know how this actually functions.
[SPEAKER_03]: I do have to give the again.
[SPEAKER_03]: I want everybody to know that as usual,
[SPEAKER_03]: When I agree with something John says, I usually give him a nod.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: That you have absolutely no idea that I'm doing, but I've never stopped and I'm never going to stop.
[SPEAKER_01]: Continue.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we should take a moment just here the space within the web way because it's kind of is both limited and limitless.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a weird thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: I always view the web way as actually being like a collection of tubes where some tubes are wider than others.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why it's not just one centralized place.
[SPEAKER_01]: It spreads all over the place.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a very like it like on envision the webways really complicated.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's because there's effectively wormholes inside the webway because sometimes you have to travel and sometimes it's instantaneous and sometimes you have to go through it to the
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Some people use the web way to come out and come back in the web way.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a bit of a weird thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: But so when he begins to expand comma out, it's not just like a city and then we're adding more bits in the outside of the city, he's actually like opening old webway portals and going to other spots and building stuff there.
[SPEAKER_01]: But it functions as if it's one giant place in that regard.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you need to move around it, it's not like, you're in like a part of town with traffic.
[SPEAKER_03]: It really enough, I envision it as being a limitless laborer.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, I believe it is, but it's not limitless in the sense of like you have to go through the labor authority to reach the limitless.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, you could just pounce.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it's still not centralized.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was one of the biggest things is why one of the reasons we talked about last week is she won because it's so big, but also because why have people not just invaded and taken care of it?
[SPEAKER_03]: Because you don't know where the hell you're going.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: You go and you could hit, you might even hit maybe more to central areas, but there's so many like splinter areas that doesn't really matter.
[SPEAKER_01]: So as a function that's the dark realm, it's kind of, it might be a better term than it's calling a comma all the time, is kind of a collection of some spots that are very accessible and some spots that are maybe less accessible.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, not at all.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, not at all.
[SPEAKER_01]: Or some spots that are intentionally hard to access.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's also places where you go, hey, this is how you enter it.
[SPEAKER_03]: And if you don't use the special code, you jump through the sphere of annihilation.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's where the Hamancai live.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Next episode, we're going to mark you.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just FYI, not this one.
[SPEAKER_01]: But at one point, during the rhyme of the old art, it was actually all connected and then post-fall, there were some losses.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this story where I like whether it's sort of, but with Vect then does as heat endeavors start reconnecting, some of the web way.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because post-fall, you get shed, like, some areas actually did have demonic incursion to them.
[SPEAKER_01]: So those one had it closed off.
[SPEAKER_01]: And Vect just decides are opening the mop and spreading back out.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the interesting thing is it's identical to what the Emperor of mankind did.
[SPEAKER_01]: They just went out and said, Oh, we can travel again now.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to go through and I'm going to reclaim the dark realm for the true car.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they went out and to that effectively goes on his own version of the Great Crusade.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's, and this is kind of funny.
[SPEAKER_01]: This story I like a lot because Vex Great Crusade is the Emperor's Great Crusade, just with a lot more violence.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: A lot more violence and a lot of betrayal.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: So if you're doing something, there's a good chance at the end of you're like, oh, so you're gonna kill all of us.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, especially when the,
[SPEAKER_03]: the confidence are involved.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because you go, so we did all this work, but you don't want anybody to know where this is.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, probably should have saw this coming.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's on us.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's knock this out.
[SPEAKER_01]: There were kind of a few different reasons each realm had become hidden away.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's where that had to reclaim it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the first one, the most common one, was they lost their connection.
[SPEAKER_01]: Smesh is birth destroyed a lot of the Eldar... The vast majority of Eldar Emperor.
[SPEAKER_01]: So let's see a lot of the vast majority of it.
[SPEAKER_03]: And while they're the vast majority.
[SPEAKER_01]: My, it's not written this way, but my guess is a lot of the Eldar as this happened destroyed the web ways themselves to prevent Eldar who were inside the web way.
[SPEAKER_01]: I could see them just destroying web way gates so that this one is exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why I said because the Harley Quinn's did it.
[SPEAKER_01]: My guess is it was more than just the Harley Quinn is doing it, which kind of I, but this did was it actually isolated them out.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that, you know, just somehow, by the way, that just opened all the portals.
[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't say how he did this.
[SPEAKER_01]: He just does it.
[SPEAKER_01]: I've read four code exits.
[SPEAKER_01]: With a quickness, by the way.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then, in fact, we opened the board.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like he, apparently, there's some switch.
[SPEAKER_01]: He just went out over there and like, oh, yeah, this was off.
[SPEAKER_01]: You guys, you have to, you have to reset the GFCI.
[SPEAKER_01]: So just press that button and it clicks.
[SPEAKER_03]: And now look, I mean, you just flip back on the main breaker.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just so good.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, that is this.
[SPEAKER_01]: What's funny about this is these L-DAR who are dark L-DAR had been in these pocket dimensions for like seven thousand years.
[SPEAKER_01]: And vetted his forces for a lot of them arrived in which greed is like, save us.
[SPEAKER_01]: They were just like, yeah, this is awesome.
[SPEAKER_01]: And vetted, of course, as you're all working for me now, they're like, yeah, that's also totally fine.
[SPEAKER_03]: The best part about vetted is vetted is just the devil, but he convinces you that it's super awesome.
[SPEAKER_01]: to be like, he's the devil, but he's also talking to demons.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not like, it's not like, he's just like, that wasn't doing this to like, paradise worlds of the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, and by the way, I'm going to torture all of you to death.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's recruiting troops and they're all like, yeah, actually this works for me because we were all dying and this stuff.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'll give you that.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just, it's funny to me because like so many people were like, yeah, pro so glad you're here.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, he looks kind of mean.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's definitely definitely me.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he's got some issues to.
[SPEAKER_01]: But the truth is, you also didn't have much of a choice, too, because you also could say, no, I don't want to join you.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he just goes, cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: These are these are going to incubi.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to have a quick conversation with you.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm going to leave.
[SPEAKER_03]: Also, you want the incubi conversation before you want the homocular.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, they're both there.
[SPEAKER_01]: But it's more, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hmm.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that does bring up the next group though, because some of these pocket dimensions, and again, this is just like with the, the great crusade.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes he would open the pocket dimension and walk into it and he'd find a group of jukari who were
[SPEAKER_01]: living their best life.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they were successful.
[SPEAKER_01]: They got food.
[SPEAKER_01]: They have all this stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're reading.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're pillaging.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're partying.
[SPEAKER_01]: And, um, yeah, we don't, I don't want, I don't want to listen to you.
[SPEAKER_01]: And, fact, um, solve that really quickly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's just put it this way.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like,
[SPEAKER_01]: We don't have a lot of stories about those realms, and that's because Vect didn't write it down.
[SPEAKER_01]: Look at that.
[SPEAKER_01]: The history belongs to the Vect itself.
[SPEAKER_01]: There is another group though that's where Vect started to me.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is maybe some of Vect's best work and we're going to cover them more in the next episode.
[SPEAKER_01]: And these are the people who actually weren't intentionally hiding away from the Dark Elder because of what they were going to talk about more this week.
[SPEAKER_03]: But I have to state this now.
[SPEAKER_03]: These are people in a realm of effectively demons because they're doing they're they actually live
[SPEAKER_03]: continue to live by causing suffering.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: These were people that were doing things that were so messed up, that those people that live by hurting other people with, that's too weird for us.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you guys got to go over there.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so these guys, these are that hitaways.
[SPEAKER_01]: They could do the most messed up stuff they could possibly think of.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they saw them at these guys, they were, they were actually hidden before the fall to Brad's point.
[SPEAKER_01]: They were hiding this, this isn't like a new thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: They were like, oh, yeah, I don't need anyone seeing what I'm doing.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's pretty weird, but vect saw these and mealy wide.
[SPEAKER_01]: Nope.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're a resource and he partnered with him because and again, we'll cover this more in the next episode.
[SPEAKER_01]: These people could create weapons of war.
[SPEAKER_01]: They could they methods of torture that we could maximize energy taking.
[SPEAKER_01]: He also went, I will provide you with resources to make stuff for me because a thing that that needs more than anything again is the
[SPEAKER_01]: soul energy to power the regards the suffering of some the more you the more suffering we do the more energy and so if he has more of that resource he has more power and what he realized in some of these realms name with the monkey lies they could actually give him
[SPEAKER_01]: a lot more of this energy, which basically means he brought supply chain management into the dark realm.
[SPEAKER_03]: I heard you can't get blood from a turn up, and those guys are like, I can't.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let me, because it's much like effectively, whereas if one soul could produce hand power rating, whatever you want to call it, the monkey like can make it a hundred power.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Are they were just a thousand, the real big, like, depending, you know, like wow.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so I live this point.
[SPEAKER_01]: He actually became Gilliman because he added a bunch of he had this structure in order.
[SPEAKER_03]: What is it?
[SPEAKER_03]: In fact, he's a badass, like individually.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: But he's what it's the same thing with G-Man to make a comparison of very good comparison.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's wildly better at evil bureaucracy that he is just fighting.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's so much better at his planning.
[SPEAKER_03]: During all of this, we're going to continue.
[SPEAKER_03]: He gets, we'll get a little bit more, because he's hands on.
[SPEAKER_01]: He starts to, oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Vect sees, let's, let's lie, because with Vect does here, to me, is just freaking awesome.
[SPEAKER_01]: We'll go through this pretty quickly here.
[SPEAKER_01]: So Vect began his process of ascension in M. thirty sevens.
[SPEAKER_01]: So for the last four thousand years, it's been non-stop war.
[SPEAKER_01]: But the expansion that he's been doing with this war has been almost completely successful.
[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, it's so incredible, it's successful that modern camera is impossibly larger than what he started with in thirty seven.
[SPEAKER_01]: However, his challenge is that every single second of every single day, there is opposition, because Drew Carrey at their core are all in it for themselves.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they also expect that to happen.
[SPEAKER_03]: So no matter what alliances you have, everybody is looking for the next one.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, every alliance is temporary as opposed to the elder who really are aligned on raising their craft world up.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a complete inverse.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that has this problem of nonstop.
[SPEAKER_01]: assassination attempts, rebellion attempts, backroom scheming.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he has to figure out a way to rule a realm based around this.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so I like this a lot because from the outside looking in, they look like a unified force.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's why the entire kingdom makes the most sense.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you engage the jukari, they fight perfectly with each other.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's hard to actually tell a part that there's multiple factions they'll hate each other.
[SPEAKER_01]: But once you actually understand the jukari and you go into the dark city, which do not go to the dark city.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's really, it's usually not a good, you don't want to be there.
[SPEAKER_01]: You learn its deception, murder, everything, nonstop.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's actually not that far off the invariant.
[SPEAKER_03]: With the thing is, is that he does, nobody plays people off better than fact does.
[SPEAKER_03]: And he does this the entire time he's going, oh, because again, he makes it so that
[SPEAKER_03]: if you challenge him, well, you're gonna lose something, or if you're, it pots everyone against each other.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, oh, yeah, you could do that, but then you don't get this, or he does get this.
[SPEAKER_03]: And you also start to get into Vect, he starts to Kaiser so's everybody, which is you don't know if you're working for Vect.
[SPEAKER_01]: So yes, let's talk about how Vect is then is able to to rule this.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the first thing Vect does, as we said before,
[SPEAKER_01]: Commora was originally ruled by this nobility.
[SPEAKER_01]: And just like on Earth, you know, actually, we thought nobility, it's by birth.
[SPEAKER_01]: So these are people who were born into a family that was wealthy.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're in charge for no reason other than because they've always been in charge.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the LDAR culture is one of the most elite cultures, it comes to a leitism that has ever existed in the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so in the jukari were rural at this.
[SPEAKER_01]: every wrong with the societal ladder within LDR culture, the people at that wrong view everyone below them as complete scum.
[SPEAKER_01]: But they look at the people above them in traditional LDR culture as deserving and belonging to be there.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's probably closest, unfortunately, the caste system, the old caste system, and it's hopefully gone by now.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if it's still there.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think sucks.
[SPEAKER_01]: But the Eldar, this is kind of this is what they had.
[SPEAKER_01]: The jukari had this a little bit different.
[SPEAKER_01]: They actually had envy for those above them.
[SPEAKER_01]: And this is how we go into envy and hatred.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, hatred.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, the hatred for the rule.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the hatred comes later, but it's mostly envy.
[SPEAKER_01]: So as the pleasure calls rose, as we said last time, a lot of these nobility moved into a comma.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they built these giant houses.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I describe these houses, the best, like you'd be historically East Indian trading company.
[SPEAKER_01]: where they are each house, they're an independent body, they're not part of the government, but they have their own government, military and currency.
[SPEAKER_01]: So each of these houses, they were incredibly powerful.
[SPEAKER_01]: That killed them all.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
[SPEAKER_01]: And decides to actually make a system based on merit, not on birth.
[SPEAKER_01]: which sounds a lot better until we define what Mary is saying.
[SPEAKER_03]: Mary isn't.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're doing good for the community.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to make you better.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're like, no.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is, it's, well, it's good for a very, no, it's terrible for the community.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's murder.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just so much murder.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So he creates, obviously, the first one creates is on the Kabbal, the black heart.
[SPEAKER_01]: That is what he runs in the realscommer.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it is the largest Kabbal by an almost infinite power.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it is the most influential, there's no other secondary.
[SPEAKER_01]: Then he allows, think it's also a poster child for it.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's in a dark out there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So then he allows for these smaller cabals to create.
[SPEAKER_01]: And when I say allows, he actually doesn't give his blessing.
[SPEAKER_01]: He just doesn't bother with them as long as they don't bother with him.
[SPEAKER_03]: He doesn't stop them.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's the same way when you watch the movies and stuff where they go.
[SPEAKER_03]: I know you're skimming.
[SPEAKER_03]: I just don't care.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I think of it more than sense of it because I want to make it clear that when I say he allows for a cup of all the, it's like the queen of England or it's not as a king, like knighting someone and creating or like, you know, what's the, the warrant of trade.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not that stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: They just, these are, this is, it's gang culture.
[SPEAKER_01]: Small, you have large gang organizations and small gangs will
[SPEAKER_01]: pop up.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's all the cobalt are those these smaller gangs.
[SPEAKER_01]: What?
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, smaller gangs, but they be code.
[SPEAKER_03]: See, you're like, hey, what's the smaller gang?
[SPEAKER_03]: You're like somebody that would rule multiple systems.
[SPEAKER_03]: Eventually, but they start small and then they have to earn their way up by killing every other company.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, that's the biggest thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they talk about it in a couple of the comics, is where the fact wants them to weed out, because he thinks it's inefficient.
[SPEAKER_03]: And there's too many.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: So he wants the smaller gangs to kill each other so that you can make a more efficient
[SPEAKER_03]: bigger game.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's, I mean, what VEC was doing was saying, all people, you can get as much power as you want here.
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so long as you can survive.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now is this thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's as long as you can survive.
[SPEAKER_01]: And what that meant was, if you mess with me, I will kill you.
[SPEAKER_03]: With what I was just about.
[SPEAKER_03]: I was waiting for that because I go, one of the things for survival is you can do whatever heinous stuff you can try to disrupt anything.
[SPEAKER_03]: The problem is, and this is the fall of many want to be equals.
[SPEAKER_03]: Again, like I said, Vect did a bunch of kinds of yourselves.
[SPEAKER_03]: They stuff where you don't know.
[SPEAKER_03]: People wouldn't know that they messed with Vex supply chain and then he's like, well, you did.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't care that you didn't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: And now you don't
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what it was, because Vect wasn't trying to raise up, I think you're getting the point there that actually really would have hammer home.
[SPEAKER_01]: He wasn't trying to get the best murderers.
[SPEAKER_01]: He was trying to get the best, you know, organized murderers.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, because he needs people who understand consequence, people who understand subterfuge because, you know, candor, the Jew-carry are
[SPEAKER_01]: kind of a dying race.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they don't have spirits don'ts.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so the only way that they can survive and grow is by inflicting death and pain and torture on others.
[SPEAKER_01]: And as a result of this, if you're trying to do that, you have a much higher, let's just say it, turn over, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Because, you know, I, I, I, I held our craft world can just leave the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_01]: they could just go and they've got the spirits don't slash can't can't touch them unless they die.
[SPEAKER_01]: They could just go piece out.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm off to a drama that's a thing or dinosaur writers.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: The jukari can't escape.
[SPEAKER_01]: They mean they do have fleets, but not like that.
[SPEAKER_01]: They can't leave the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_01]: They have to do, you know.
[SPEAKER_01]: murder and torture.
[SPEAKER_01]: The pump that you'll carry is that if they don't harvest souls for themselves, they will go extinct.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that needs only the best under him.
[SPEAKER_01]: Or as the great Randy Savage would say, he needs the cream to rise to the top.
[SPEAKER_01]: Fun note, if you know who Randy Savage is, it's also with the macho man Randy Savage and there was one time that his cocaine system tested positive for blood.
[SPEAKER_01]: just go to YouTube and type in Macho Man Randy Savage and go, oh my god, we'll be right back after a quick break.
[SPEAKER_01]: The constantly conflict within the dark realm was not only between the organizations but also within them.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so you see a lot more of this within the cabals like specifically.
[SPEAKER_01]: So each cabal has a leader and that leader is called an arcan, which is the same term actually that existed before.
[SPEAKER_01]: The arcan is an old term, the elder term for leader basically.
[SPEAKER_01]: So to be common Arcon, you have to be the most cunning, the best fighter, you have to have the best, you know, diplomacy, et cetera.
[SPEAKER_01]: And getting to the role of Arcon, I would actually argue is easier than holding it.
[SPEAKER_01]: because everyone wants to be an archon, so your competition is kind of all there, but there's a guy up at the top.
[SPEAKER_01]: The second you become the archon, everyone's trying to kill you.
[SPEAKER_03]: The good news on that is you have access to some of the best defensive technology in the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the archives are incredibly powerful.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because to be an archive, you have to really absorb enough of this power from pain to make yourself a blender of a fire.
[SPEAKER_01]: Deem it.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's from an eighth edition.
[SPEAKER_01]: They were just sorry.
[SPEAKER_01]: I get upset about this.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to have some comments in this over the next couple of casts where I really do believe the addition to your car.
[SPEAKER_01]: He was the best book for them that they ever had from the rules standpoint.
[SPEAKER_03]: They got to be powered up.
[SPEAKER_01]: They are powered up from pain.
[SPEAKER_01]: The arc on having the two up in volume was me.
[SPEAKER_01]: He still takes a little bit better back then.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a much different rules.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the R-Con, so to that point, the R-Con is the pinnacle of JuCard.
[SPEAKER_01]: They absorb so much power that they're incredibly fast, incredibly strong, and also that they have to be incredibly intelligent in order to get there, which makes them psychotic level warriors.
[SPEAKER_01]: When you read the books, when an Rcon goes to war, they are, they just slaughter, thirty, forty men without even trying.
[SPEAKER_01]: They just appear and it is pure devastation.
[SPEAKER_01]: Why are they strength free and toughness free in the game?
[SPEAKER_01]: I have no idea.
[SPEAKER_03]: They also show up in effectively a smoking jacket because they have a piece of equipment on them.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're creating a force field around them.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they can fight and whatever they put on that morning.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you can just win to your gray sweatpants.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, what are you going to wear?
[SPEAKER_03]: Also, their weapon of choice is still the organizer, which is a stick to the on if you don't know.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was with
[SPEAKER_03]: a guy with a tank top in a pair of two short shorts.
[SPEAKER_03]: Just rolled out with a short stick and started beating up on, I don't know, dreadnoughts.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: But you're like, I don't really know what just happened there in the lore.
[SPEAKER_01]: So just for the most indifference, those people who play the table top and don't really know your carry lore, in the lore, an archon would just basically pull a dreadnought apart.
[SPEAKER_01]: They would jump on it and it would dig nothing.
[SPEAKER_01]: They would go right through it.
[SPEAKER_01]: They never had them.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, in the tabletop, the dreadnought will punch him to death.
[SPEAKER_01]: It annoys me.
[SPEAKER_01]: When, when, when, when, as if I've had a model.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, that's the last time, but like, you know, just balancing an arc on, we're playing everything in a three.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're playing tenta dish and now an arc on, into a, into a drive nut.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, he won't.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's my point.
[SPEAKER_01]: The drive nut just wrecks him, but arc on in the lore.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, just put me the drive nut just, oh yeah, that, that drive nut's dead.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he's jumping off the drive nut to go kill the troops who are near the drug.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he looks like Yoda fighting and frickening.
[SPEAKER_01]: Reinable.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean,
[SPEAKER_01]: They've actually killed assassins.
[SPEAKER_01]: They aren't me.
[SPEAKER_01]: The argument is it's John Wick with superpowers.
[SPEAKER_03]: But it's awesome.
[SPEAKER_03]: They don't do a good job enough about this.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's a wild difference in the power of our cons.
[SPEAKER_03]: Be adding our cons means fine.
[SPEAKER_01]: All the tension ones are the lane ones.
[SPEAKER_03]: You just said, there is a difference between that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Some of these guys have been around forever and they're collecting.
[SPEAKER_01]: So hearing him has no record of an arcane battle because the way the arcane's fight is so fast and so aggressive and so skilled, they actually can't film it.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's, that's my, this drives me.
[SPEAKER_03]: Even the low level guys are like that.
[SPEAKER_03]: My whole point is like, there's a difference between you fighting Vect and you fighting Steve, the arcane.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you're a human, not really.
[SPEAKER_03]: Probably not.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just a smoke.
[SPEAKER_03]: We guess.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just saying there is, especially for this.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I mean, the truth is an arc on should be able to possibly take out a primer.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's the level when you read the lore of how hard they hit.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm going to have some jukari people who were like, well, what about suck you buy?
[SPEAKER_01]: Nope.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like the truth is, in the game, however, in the game to be honest, but the exception of maybe Lilith,
[SPEAKER_01]: most sucky by would get rumple stopped by an archon I love our cons and yeah if you can't hear my anger it's because
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's also a really cool model.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like everything about it's good.
[SPEAKER_01]: The jukari line got remade and the models are beautiful.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I just think an archon in combat should have been blendering the table top.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll pay three hundred points for it.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll mind, you know, making the same point total as what is more terian.
[SPEAKER_01]: But he should that's because that's the damage he should be able to do.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, me game.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know, I'm just mad.
[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, one thing I should mention though, I do want to point out, Brad made a comment about these guys fighting and like, you know, whatever they put on that day.
[SPEAKER_01]: They've coolest part about an archon fighting.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I just remembered this.
[SPEAKER_01]: They also look bored while they're doing it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, there's such skilled fighters that when during real space raids, when our con stride out to fight something, it usually is because some level of whatever their fighting was offering up resistance to the cableite troops, and the arcon was irritated by this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, walks it comes out of his like either venom or radar and this kind of genuinely pissed off that he has to do this and then wrecks thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: So he'll look bored.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, do you go into how they are anyways though?
[SPEAKER_03]: Average elder are hotty looked down on regular races.
[SPEAKER_03]: The dark are the worst of the worst of the worst.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the arc on is the worst of the worst.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you're like one, I don't think anybody else is worth anything.
[SPEAKER_03]: I definitely don't think this other race.
[SPEAKER_01]: This thing in front of me is like I'm trying to conclude my raid.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I can go back to my realm because this place by the way that I'm in this real space is gross and I hate it.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're delaying me.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm going to come from getting to watching eating my breakfast so I can torture people while I'm eating.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm just going to step off this boat and kill you.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not like, because this isn't like a world eater who's like, well, I'm excited for combat.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is an on our consent.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's more mad at it at his troops for failing at it and annoyed that you're still standing here.
[SPEAKER_03]: Because they're the best.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, we're going to the people that fight to fight.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: But these guys are not.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're not fighting.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're fighting because they have a purpose.
[SPEAKER_03]: They just want to read.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's all.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'd say the cabals are amazing.
[SPEAKER_03]: Amazingly evil, but amazing because they're all about getting the job done.
[SPEAKER_03]: What is the most efficient way to get what we want?
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and let's talk about why.
[SPEAKER_01]: The reason behind that is because we said over and over again, we're going to keep saying, the dark city is all about planning and scheming.
[SPEAKER_01]: So as an archon, I have to make sure that my cabal is happy beneath me because they're the first ones who are going to stab me in the back and are not exposed to an opposition who will then come murder all of us.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they have to conserve their energy and their efforts.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that no enemy can find a moment of weakness to take them out.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because if you're a cabal, but you're most likely death is another in cabal.
[SPEAKER_01]: Another I say another.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, for sure.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so don't jump on the quick.
[SPEAKER_01]: So an arc on you have to be a master of the perfect strike.
[SPEAKER_01]: And there's actually really great line in one of the books where it says that, you know, Zech could actually learn a thing or two from the long-term plotting that Arkons of the Jukari do.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is how good they are at this.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not just the real space race.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's also the dark space reads they go on everything they do.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm going to give, because we frequently get people asking us for recommendations on this.
[SPEAKER_03]: The best Lord, because there's not that many dark, elder books.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'd be weird.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's codex stuff and it's supplement stuff.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm not going to tell you to go get the books because John always tells me, just go down on one line.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, the codex is.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: The reason I say it, by the way, is not because I'm like some super pirate.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's because if you try to find a fifth edition, Drew Carrey Codex.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're on it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Somebody will charge you an arm and a leg.
[SPEAKER_01]: We'll free no reason.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because they're throwing away.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the truth is like most people, not most, but a libel throw the codex is out when the addition ends because they're just playing the game.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they're just not that many left.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so you can find them in a PDF form, find them in a PDF form.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's something.
[SPEAKER_01]: So because if I was there, if GW had them in print, I would not tell you to buy with them.
[SPEAKER_01]: But they don't have a print.
[SPEAKER_03]: But there's really great.
[SPEAKER_01]: The small stories are just how you want most of the codex.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'd write this codex.
[SPEAKER_01]: Tyv wrote most of the podcast was the codex's third insane good.
[SPEAKER_01]: But so let's move on to the kind of the Archon, the cobalt and what they're doing for the dark city.
[SPEAKER_01]: So these guys are building these are massive construction projects of being mistaken as a club all rises.
[SPEAKER_01]: They begin building all the things they need to keep their rise going.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, places to live, that those are the weapons, ships, arenas.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to cover arenas in the next cast pretty heavily.
[SPEAKER_01]: These arenas are just for death to soak their energy.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're also helping build the laboratories, you know, not not curing polio laboratories, by the way.
[SPEAKER_03]: Charlie, what is this lab dedicated to?
[SPEAKER_03]: Keeping people alive longer.
[SPEAKER_03]: All that sounds really good so we can torture them longer being tortured.
[SPEAKER_01]: That seems counterproductive.
[SPEAKER_01]: That is less.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not.
[SPEAKER_01]: Not to us.
[SPEAKER_01]: They've also got prisons, everything.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're building all this up.
[SPEAKER_01]: because even though Vect overthrew the nobility, he kept almost all the same stuff after his.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, Eldar, we kept the infrastructure like this.
[SPEAKER_03]: But he also did the world's best propaganda about it.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's like, everything is different.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then you just went to the same thing you did before.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the part of the finalist is like, with that is, so these are pirate bands.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what they are.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a pirate kingdom.
[SPEAKER_01]: But it's actually a camera is known as being oddly beautiful because they're still elder and elder.
[SPEAKER_01]: their individual purpose from the old ones were poets and artisans.
[SPEAKER_03]: Artisans, it's just in the thing about it is they also get offended by not beauty.
[SPEAKER_03]: They still think about dark elder armor, weaponry, everything, everything has to be a certain look and aesthetic.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, everything's got to, it has to be beautiful.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the talk of the spires that shut out from all over the dark city.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're beautiful.
[SPEAKER_01]: The way the angle that they come out, it's not archaic or anarchistic.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's actually going to anarchistic beauty to it.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's how it described.
[SPEAKER_01]: So because, yeah, they're still on the elder.
[SPEAKER_01]: But the thing though is they're also highly competitive elder.
[SPEAKER_01]: So each of the cabals sections are trying to build taller spires that are more perfect.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're arenas.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, the arenas are astronomically large with more and more impossible things like zero gravity fields.
[SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, well, I think that's one of my favorites.
[SPEAKER_03]: They have not a ton, but they have a decent one to show its story.
[SPEAKER_03]: So, about these kind of things and how the artisans are people that have more security around them.
[SPEAKER_03]: Then a lot of the higher little guys.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because yeah, because that truth is we can replace the this argon tomorrow with the ten million other people would want to be argon, but that guy can build and so no like in no one touch Sean like you're Sean Sean's a no like Sean Sean is the new Sean stuff.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, well, you can't touch him.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: You can, you can murder our boss.
[SPEAKER_03]: You can't murder that guy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Interestingly enough, and we'll cover the next one.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's also the true with that monkey.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like there is a viewpoint on that as well.
[SPEAKER_01]: But drone.
[SPEAKER_01]: Before we close out on the Arkons, though, in the Caballs, there is one thing that I do want to cover very briefly, the core to the Arkon.
[SPEAKER_01]: And how do you love it?
[SPEAKER_01]: Stupid, and I hate it.
[SPEAKER_01]: I intentionally and Brad's laughing, I'd say this, intentionally chose and not covered the slith, Laman, where are the other ones?
[SPEAKER_01]: Or go, Brad's in playing the game, thirty years.
[SPEAKER_01]: So how many editions, that eight edition, seven editions you play through?
[SPEAKER_01]: I've started in the second.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so you started in the second edition.
[SPEAKER_01]: Drew Carrie, it's true.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, at nine.
[SPEAKER_01]: Drew Carrie joined the game around fourth edition, some of that round fourth edition.
[SPEAKER_01]: In how many editions was the cult of the or the court of the Arcon even playable?
[SPEAKER_01]: Nineth.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it was abusive and stupid.
[SPEAKER_01]: You just go to say it now.
[SPEAKER_01]: People were like nine slits.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's all just John complaining.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you don't know what I'm talking about, we'll probably do a cast on, you know, us complaining about it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Gross mechanics.
[SPEAKER_01]: Just stupid thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's more, it's when things just didn't match the lore and that was one of the worst ones.
[SPEAKER_01]: The court, the court of the Archon, were supposed to be these kind of like, I don't know, with the gestures.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have a great term for them.
[SPEAKER_01]: They would
[SPEAKER_01]: move around with an R-con.
[SPEAKER_01]: They could, they would protect him.
[SPEAKER_01]: They would do a bunch of stuff like that.
[SPEAKER_01]: That was the idea in the lore.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then they just wrote the rules wrong on the table to happen.
[SPEAKER_01]: People were bringing the armies of them.
[SPEAKER_01]: They did suck for forever.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm fine with something U-O-P for a little while.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's just how I am.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no.
[SPEAKER_01]: They should have just taken out of the game, moving the legends of the, they did all of my favorites.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're saying half your cabinets.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's like nuts nicks.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's Brandon.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's all, Brandon.
[SPEAKER_01]: What if I own a lot of bikers?
[SPEAKER_01]: You're not going to win your next.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, so from there, I want to jump into one of the main things that the cuballs use to keep power, which are the rates.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is the number one way to keep the people underneath you happy is you have to.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's also very complex how they go about it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, rates are.
[SPEAKER_03]: Sometimes, there's one-offs, but there's raids, a lot of times, are how the Cables work.
[SPEAKER_03]: The inside Cables work.
[SPEAKER_03]: These are complex people together, which almost always is roof or some backstabbing.
[SPEAKER_03]: But this is how you go collect souls.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is how you get this is the only way that the Jew car you can survive is.
[SPEAKER_01]: They call the real space raids because they go into space and then raid.
[SPEAKER_01]: So as we said it before, each cabal has a ruler that's an archon.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the way that you keep people below you happy when you're a leader is you just do pirate stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what this is.
[SPEAKER_01]: They need the rate so they can get souls so they can torture them so they can then feed their soul back and not die.
[SPEAKER_01]: And gotta make them.
[SPEAKER_01]: You gotta get them.
[SPEAKER_01]: So what they found was,
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's just go get them.
[SPEAKER_03]: And the thing is, is that this is why Terchari is scary.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because it's hard, say you're the imperium.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like I'll go backwards on this.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're the imperium and you're trying to defend your
[SPEAKER_03]: your area.
[SPEAKER_03]: Everyone else is trying to conquest and gain.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're correct, don't.
[SPEAKER_03]: They just show up and they take things.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it could also be these tiny raids where they hit the outskirts of Toledo and other times they go and notice.
[SPEAKER_03]: I just wait.
[SPEAKER_01]: could be happening to, it could be happening now.
[SPEAKER_01]: It would be like that's no.
[SPEAKER_03]: But then there's other rates where they go, we're going to take the entire population of a planet.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: And what it looks like the Imperium is, why did, why did they do it here and not here?
[SPEAKER_03]: And you're like, I think they just roll dice.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: But it isn't.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're super complex because the bigger rates go into how many alliances are you trying to make?
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, let's dive in, Lex.
[SPEAKER_01]: And this is really kind of fun in my mind when I think of parts about the Drew Curry.
[SPEAKER_01]: So first off, outside of the hard-liquins, who we will be doing a cast on don't worry, the Drew Curry have the greatest access to the webways.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, that ends.
[SPEAKER_01]: So which means, and the problem with webways is, and this is my interpretation of it, because it's not really that well written.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's hard to tell if the imperium or other races are aware of the web late gates.
[SPEAKER_01]: They find them from time to time.
[SPEAKER_03]: And for it knows that that's it, but I didn't tell anybody.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, maybe Magnus does kidding.
[SPEAKER_01]: But that's the thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: So when we think of Webway Gates, we think of the ones we see in the game.
[SPEAKER_01]: These giant, you know, Rathbone structures, they're arch-based, et cetera.
[SPEAKER_01]: But it seems like there's a lot of webways that may just look like rocks.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, we did the cast about that where they had the huge fight where they accidentally opened.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was a big mountain exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Drew Carrey have access to these everywhere.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so
[SPEAKER_01]: This is kind of a cool trick for them because no one really knows that you're in danger until you are.
[SPEAKER_01]: So there's hundreds of thousands, if not millions of worlds where the galaxy that have webweggates on them, that the local residents are not aware of.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's also asteroid gates, which is hilarious.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, there's asteroid that's moving around the space.
[SPEAKER_01]: They just made stations.
[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, all of a sudden I did like this idea of someone's just you know on a paradise world sitting on a beach like in the shade of like a big like nice big rock just having a nice you know having a nice drink and all of a sudden a nightmare comes out of that rock
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, first one down.
[SPEAKER_03]: And one of my favorites about this is, when the jacari raid again, they're not rating for battle for a conquest, they're rating for maximum efficiency of what they're doing.
[SPEAKER_03]: So they want to be here and gone.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so what's cool about this is that the jukari raids are not done for the most part by an individual group.
[SPEAKER_01]: If they're almost always partnered up and again, go back to pirate kingdom.
[SPEAKER_01]: The idea is the jukari will pick an area.
[SPEAKER_01]: Usually, and the archon will then talk to the other archons and say, hey, here's the amount of souls that are available here.
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you want in on this raid?
[SPEAKER_01]: And they go team.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that we know my favorite part of this year.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're down playing.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're going to be excited about one of my favorites is you didn't go to your ally.
[SPEAKER_03]: You go to your worst enemy because you know that when you come back, there's a good chance you're going to be attacked.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you take your most powerful enemy and you go, we need to both go on this rate to get these souls because I need to know you're not going to hit me after I'm weaker.
[SPEAKER_03]: You need to be a little weak also.
[SPEAKER_03]: So then we both
[SPEAKER_03]: are living back into the dark.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they also do this in the Brad's point.
[SPEAKER_01]: They also make sure that we both go on three, you know, I mean, it's a pretty good lethal weapon joke here.
[SPEAKER_01]: One, two, three and go or one, two, three.
[SPEAKER_03]: So it's a big thing because they partner all the time with their worst enemies.
[SPEAKER_03]: But with also a deal, you can't refuse because this is a great race.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because they scouted it out.
[SPEAKER_01]: At that rival might say, no, I'm not going, but if he doesn't go and this raid successful, his rivals now more powerful.
[SPEAKER_01]: So he almost has to go on the raid with him to keep his rival in check for himself.
[SPEAKER_01]: So let's dive into the stages of the jukari raid.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the first one is just is scouting.
[SPEAKER_01]: Not, you know, the the sacrificial skulls that Brad uses.
[SPEAKER_02]: sacrificial teenage.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the jukari, notice in a couple of jukari into an area, you know, via webway.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the jukari again, I like to harp on this, their ships are so fast, they're actually undetectable.
[SPEAKER_01]: A, a, a few jukari on a govenum, shooting out of a webway would just be a blink, and you might notice like a disruption of the air, like leave a little bit of a wake around.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so what these guys do is they're rocketing around the area, and they're scouting for a few things.
[SPEAKER_01]: First, the value.
[SPEAKER_01]: How many souls?
[SPEAKER_01]: How many beings are they can grab?
[SPEAKER_01]: How concentrated are they?
[SPEAKER_01]: And how much agony do they think they could take?
[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, obviously, for example, like you want to make sure that your like the example is an ant mound, that your car could capture an ant mound.
[SPEAKER_01]: and tear the legs off every single ant in the colony, but that's not going to produce that much.
[SPEAKER_01]: You want things that can that they've seen before, humans are a good one for this, how are actually a good one I assume, but where they can be tortured.
[SPEAKER_01]: I might bring them because I'm sure with tears it's a big extra much value.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's what I'm getting on.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Necron's probably aren't that much value because they don't feel.
[SPEAKER_01]: But that's what I'm saying.
[SPEAKER_01]: You want things that feel and they want to go there and they want to kind of like slowly pull them apart and do horrible things to them.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, they want to install a terror on them.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the next thing they're going to look for are the defenses.
[SPEAKER_01]: Is there a space for me now outpost?
[SPEAKER_01]: So we're probably not going to bother.
[SPEAKER_01]: Just because more work could they beat the space Marines?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: But why I have access to the entire galaxy.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll just go where they are.
[SPEAKER_03]: And again, I'm not fighting for a conquest or to fight to prove.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Why make this difficult?
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll skip the next one.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, same thing, but every world does have a planetary defense force.
[SPEAKER_01]: Some of them may be the process of raising a regiment.
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, we're going to make sure that we're not jumping out of our web way into all of the lasgons.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's, again, just I can go anywhere, why bother?
[SPEAKER_01]: Then they'll take this all back to form the plan for the raid.
[SPEAKER_01]: The, and all the interesting ones that they will do though is they'll also check flow of traffic to and from the system because what you also don't want to do is hit the rate and then because the imperium can move quickly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's the thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: They also still do have precox.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, but the bear was they can move a fleet like that.
[SPEAKER_01]: They do use warp travel.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the imperial navy is just
[SPEAKER_03]: Kind of their bodies are effectively a jump point near me.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and so what you don't want to do is become in maybe in our raid and then all of a sudden the salamanders show up and now we've got a real fight in our hands.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you they need but they actually look for is low importance worlds.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is why they don't hit high worlds very often.
[SPEAKER_01]: is because they're too important to the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_01]: They hit, you know, pseudo-agree worlds, feudal worlds are really good.
[SPEAKER_01]: These types of things are a little bit on the edge that they can take to Brad's point at chunk of the population and the Imperium just goes, yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're also wildly, they know so much about the Imperium which is crazy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: But they'll hit things and just go, oh, we can take the whole planet.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're like, no, because if we take the whole planet, then we'll get responses.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and we don't want that.
[SPEAKER_01]: We don't want to get a response because we get to why in a minute, kind of the end of this.
[SPEAKER_01]: So at this point, once they checked all the boxes for this rates worth it, now they go and form their alliances.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the alliances are going to vary depending on the size of the rate.
[SPEAKER_01]: And these appliances, like I said, they're going to always going to involve almost always going to involve rivals.
[SPEAKER_01]: They may also do involve cults.
[SPEAKER_01]: They may involve the witch cults or the monkey light cults.
[SPEAKER_01]: It really is kind of what they're trying to do and where they're going and have who wants to be there for lack of a better phrase.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's wild because the cabals themselves have to
[SPEAKER_03]: over plan into the next level.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, one because your enemies there too, because we just involved the Covins and the cults, which both have their own plan for what they want to do when they get here.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, it which might have absolutely nothing to do with your plan.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you have to have, I'm actually the Covins.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: You have to, well, to be fair.
[SPEAKER_03]: The witch cults are kind of a problem sometimes also because they want to go just show how awesome they are because I just, I'm going to do five back flips before I hit the sky now instead of only four.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're like, you're not even supposed to be fighting over there.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're like, where else would I do my five back?
[SPEAKER_01]: The witch cults, the problem of the witch cults in a raid is you might say, we're going to go there.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to capture a million bodies in the witch cults killed two hundred thousand of them because they just wanted to keep killing.
[SPEAKER_01]: We needed them.
[SPEAKER_01]: I've been streaming to my Instagram this entire time about how awesome I was if you if you haven't seen the remake of suicide squad First off you should see it but basically that where they they go through the whole village and it's like
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they're trying to get style points.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's why they fight.
[SPEAKER_03]: We'll get into them more.
[SPEAKER_01]: So again, the remake of Suicide Squad.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: But it's a big thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Who saw the first Suicide Squad?
[SPEAKER_01]: It was the worst thing we've ever seen.
[SPEAKER_01]: Watch the second one.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's quite good.
[SPEAKER_02]: I will second that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's a really funny.
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll be right back after a quick break.
[SPEAKER_01]: So once the alliances are set, now the rate is time to go.
[SPEAKER_01]: And when a raid begins, basically the entire of the force explode out of the, out of the web way at once.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's, it's not as sure.
[SPEAKER_01]: And effectively full speed.
[SPEAKER_01]: And this is for two reasons.
[SPEAKER_01]: One is to just overwhelm the, the opposition to see what's there.
[SPEAKER_01]: But to the real one is to make sure that no one's holding back to then, to then shoot you in the back halfway through it.
[SPEAKER_03]: So everybody has to show up full speed right now.
[SPEAKER_03]: Go ahead.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're all going at once.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they also have the weird thing on this is if anybody doesn't do that, the rest of the forces will immediately turn on that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the forces will actually piss if you come through the web way and people are missing, raids over.
[SPEAKER_01]: You go back through the web way.
[SPEAKER_01]: You'll kill them if you know what they were trying to do.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, there's there's the backstabby of some backstabby.
[SPEAKER_01]: They really are out of their mind.
[SPEAKER_01]: But let's talk about how the strike actually is because the Drew Carrey never attacked from the front.
[SPEAKER_01]: They use a term that they call the flame in which it's just these constantly overlapping fast turning passes.
[SPEAKER_01]: They move it incredible speeds and they're just shooting out of them at and they don't know about darker are accurate at full speed.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not even just shooting out of them.
[SPEAKER_03]: They do hand a hand on drive-by.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: They'll cut you by or the best.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're just coming through it.
[SPEAKER_01]: The whole reason that they have the slightly longer weapon is so they can lean out and cut the pit off as they come through.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: And someone just went by and mock eleven and you went, Timmy just died.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even know why.
[SPEAKER_01]: I felt a hard wind and all of them are dead.
[SPEAKER_01]: And what the reason they do this is multiple.
[SPEAKER_01]: First off, it creates a feeling within the enemy that they're being attacked from all sides.
[SPEAKER_01]: So nets that they can't concentrate fire in any one area.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the elderly are just making all these passes.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're not taking like a giant brunt that can take them out.
[SPEAKER_01]: It also starts wearing the enemy down.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a sandstorm, where they're picking all these pieces off.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the enemy is slowly, they don't realize it being shepherded in to one area.
[SPEAKER_03]: The worst part about this for the people that they're fighting against is the elder dark, the Drew Carrier, the dark elder.
[SPEAKER_03]: are getting more powerful because they're actually getting power from yours.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's really dying.
[SPEAKER_03]: They are getting faster and better.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're getting more accurate.
[SPEAKER_03]: The more terrifying.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't we get.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's like pitch my tentadition again.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like you did.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, each battle round.
[SPEAKER_01]: I got more and more stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you used to.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: All the last ones always.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're in your new leadership.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, the game is over.
[SPEAKER_01]: The additional thing is now as the battle grows, the intensity picks up, because at first I said it's just a mass of fire all over the place, but once the enemy's been hemmed into a position, it starts coalescing, then the Drew Carrey bring their heavy weapons.
[SPEAKER_01]: And we didn't really mention this very well, but I was gonna say, Drew Carrey heavy weapons are Eldar heavy weapons.
[SPEAKER_01]: but in some ways better depending on your redemption.
[SPEAKER_03]: Also, there are other things that move fast.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they start now, they just start taking out the heavy defenders.
[SPEAKER_01]: And everything that's the other Drew Carter is just recommend because they don't, they're held into one spot.
[SPEAKER_01]: The dark lances are going, they're done.
[SPEAKER_01]: Once that's over, the worst part begins, which is where the hand-to-hand combat begins.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because if you're curry at their core, they do have ranged combat, whether really good is hand-to-hand.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they just come these boats.
[SPEAKER_01]: And when we say burst out of the transports, they don't roll up, stop, open the front door and come out.
[SPEAKER_01]: As this ship comes past you, like Mach II, fifty people jump out of it, lands perfectly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, all super hero landing style.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then just wreck you.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it is, and again, these raids are over quick.
[SPEAKER_03]: We will also, the hand-guys have been actually getting more powerful during this because you've been suffering, you've been dying, they're getting juiced up.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're now faster than they already were, and now we're going to start fighting.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it gets even worse.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So now for the defenses are all removed.
[SPEAKER_01]: This means both entrenched vehicle, but also individuals, what I call the harvest begins where everyone is just rounded up and pacified, which in past life could be tied to the outside of a ship.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, that's a real thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: The dark elder vehicles, the rating vehicles are equipped with effectively nets, hooks, or they just have ways to put multiple guys.
[SPEAKER_03]: equipment, even in the game, where they just drive by and just snatch, fish hook style, a whole bunch of people and go, cool, now we're leaving.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're coming with me.
[SPEAKER_01]: So everyone then is brought back to the dark realm.
[SPEAKER_01]: for a multitude of not good purposes.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we had to do this at some point.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I decided to hem it in here.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, there it is.
[SPEAKER_01]: Brad knows what we're about to go.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we talked with the real space rates.
[SPEAKER_01]: I want to spend some time on the vehicles and the weapons in the real space rate.
[SPEAKER_01]: Poison.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to talk about poison now.
[SPEAKER_02]: So many poison and dark out there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so as we said before,
[SPEAKER_01]: the jukars entire style of attack is speed combined with speed with a heavy dosage of speed.
[SPEAKER_01]: I love jukari vehicles.
[SPEAKER_03]: They also have no OSHA because all the jukari vehicles are is there any safety
[SPEAKER_03]: What are you talking about?
[SPEAKER_03]: Hang on.
[SPEAKER_03]: Also, you should be fighting up the outside of this.
[SPEAKER_03]: Isn't this a spaceship?
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, yeah, it's also open top to come.
[SPEAKER_01]: So on the Eldercast, we talked about elder jet bike riders and that they could like take a jet bike to mock three and then make a ninety degree turn.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is not an elder only skill.
[SPEAKER_01]: The jukari also have this skill.
[SPEAKER_01]: And you can actually, you can do it on hoverboards.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, we'll talk about it where are we going to the cults because they get to do it a little bit better because they are bananas out of their mind on drugs.
[SPEAKER_03]: Does that help?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they're just loaded.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, they get, well, what's the space speed?
[SPEAKER_03]: They get the newest concoction of the day.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, but even if there isn't even without them, though, the Juqari pilots are probably the best pilots in the galaxy from us.
[SPEAKER_01]: From now on, that's a general hundred percent.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's like, oh, God.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, no, it's not even close.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know how much you love aircraft, but razor wing jet fighters are.
[SPEAKER_03]: I know.
[SPEAKER_01]: I hate aircraft the passion, but the razor wing jet fighter might be the only thing that flying at the rules and flying circus kind of made sense for.
[SPEAKER_03]: And the thing is, is that a bunch of these, these guys are doing things that are not possible for, but especially human pilots, because they just die.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, to give me a better example of them is like one of the jet bikes that they use called a reverb.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the reverb, they describe it as a writer on a reverb, doesn't steer the bike.
[SPEAKER_01]: They basically merge with it.
[SPEAKER_01]: It becomes part of their body.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's that types of a move at these speeds that are not.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they talk their stories of reveries
[SPEAKER_01]: slicing someone's throat at becoming to at mock three that because they're they're that accurate and they're that you know specific they can come through there's nothing you can do defensively against a river or then put every shot you have into the sky and hope you hit them basically by accident it is reversing credible haven't had great rules cool model as cause the reefers are though there's a much bigger thing called a radar
[SPEAKER_01]: that's so good.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I laugh at it though, because the reverb is a very sleek bike.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like in the model, the guys even leaning down like the way you do.
[SPEAKER_01]: If anyone ever has written crosswalk, it's like, I have you actually lean down and kind of put yourself into it on the track.
[SPEAKER_01]: The other one has a sale on it.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a pirate ship with sales on it and spoiler alert.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's faster.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also that sale does nothing, but yeah, it's just it's there for that.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a sale boat where all the crew stands in the deck.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a few like guns also attached to the deck.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's basically no armor on it.
[SPEAKER_01]: And you look at it and go, well, this thing's stupid.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then you see it move.
[SPEAKER_01]: The radar is one of the fastest vehicles in the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_01]: And also does trontrans.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, straight line, angled line, they can do anything.
[SPEAKER_01]: They are like, you can't hit them.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's basically the way to explain a radar is you try, you see them sort of because they're so fast.
[SPEAKER_01]: They try to shoot it and you just miss.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, one of the things they also have is that you're probably going to miss, but they also just have four fields on things.
[SPEAKER_03]: They don't, they don't do armor for armors sake.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like the Imperium goes, yeah, here's a tank.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, we might have a chill on it, but also let's just make the armor ten feet thick.
[SPEAKER_03]: The dark out there go, you're never going to hit me.
[SPEAKER_03]: If you do, here's a four shield, you know, and I'll bounce.
[SPEAKER_03]: What is it deflect?
[SPEAKER_03]: It can't deflect anything.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the raiders are, the thing I love about the raiders is, I'm gonna complain, like, twenty seconds, guys.
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, I love the thing about the raiders is that they also adorn them with like trophies, which is basically dead things from prior raids.
[SPEAKER_01]: The whole concept of the raider is they look like a, like, not a joke, but it's like it's got this giant say on it, all the, the jukar, you're standing on top of it, like pointing at you and shooting at you.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the things,
[SPEAKER_01]: hovered with former victims is designed to make you to just scramble your brain of all my god I have to kill this thing because what it'll do to me and if but I can't kill it I keep but it also has a device on it that makes it that yeah and it now I do have an issue with the radar and this is more the table top
[SPEAKER_01]: because it's pretty mad.
[SPEAKER_01]: It moves two inches faster than a rhino.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sixteen percent faster.
[SPEAKER_01]: The fastest vehicle in the galaxy is sixteen percent faster than a tank with treads on it.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it has the fly roll, which I'm not over.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not over.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not rolling that.
[SPEAKER_01]: It should have a bit, it should be able to move halfway across the board on a turn.
[SPEAKER_03]: It also should treat any intervening as a joke.
[SPEAKER_01]: Cause it won't fly, but no minus this to hit.
[SPEAKER_01]: The rhino is actually tougher than a rhino is a better transport in the table top forty k, then a radar.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, that, that.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, fly does suck.
[SPEAKER_01]: This, this just hurts my soul.
[SPEAKER_01]: This hurts, this hurts me deep inside.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hart's been decoupling deep.
[SPEAKER_01]: Coming there too deep.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I never got to do it again, because the actual my actual favorite vehicle, the entire line.
[SPEAKER_01]: I found twelve of them for no good reason.
[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, he's our minus one hit.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a venom.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they are.
[SPEAKER_01]: The venom is way more badass.
[SPEAKER_01]: They were decent in eighths and ninth.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the venom is a tiny transport that just moves less people than faster.
[SPEAKER_03]: If anything is in the Lord, it's actually slow.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the lore, it's slower in the lore and less maneuverable.
[SPEAKER_01]: And in the tabletop, it's faster and more maneuverable.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's actually, it's a cool design to the hard ones using XX and design, but for there, for their transports.
[SPEAKER_01]: The reason I love the venom is I love the lore of the venom.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's designed to basically rush forward in mass.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so what the venom's do is they just, if you have say like I've a mast that infantry they have to deal with, the venom's just rock it right at them and over top.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they take shots.
[SPEAKER_01]: They have force fields to stop this.
[SPEAKER_01]: The second they cross over the enemy, all the occupants jump out and land in the mast infantry and just begins slaughtering them.
[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like you're not giving enough backflips here, because I feel- That's how I feel every- Oh, there's so many backflips.
[SPEAKER_01]: The one I love about this though, with my favorite stories, that sometimes our cons will ride on them solo to go do this, where they're just gonna go cool, and this venom flies over top, in a five thousand year old, our cons lands next to you, armed with the most devastating weapons in the galaxy that are strength three.
[SPEAKER_01]: and just goes through, I mean, I wrote squad of guardsmen.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a lot more than one squad.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'd be very sad if an archive.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and then that same Venom comes right back and he jumps into the air back into the, and it goes off to do it again if needed.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I love Venoms.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, at least the I to Brad's point, they're at least minus one to hit in the game.
[SPEAKER_03]: They do have the, they really get back in them now.
[SPEAKER_03]: So like it,
[SPEAKER_03]: Kind of, they approach something.
[SPEAKER_01]: Nope.
[SPEAKER_01]: Or no.
[SPEAKER_01]: Nope.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying, nope.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, I really have to go back to poison.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Brad is genuinely rubbing his face right now because we're going to talk about something that we love reading the stories about and then you think about it at the table top and it makes the damn sense.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that you carries use a lot of toxins on the battle front.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm sure some of our older listeners are really grinning right now knowing what I'm about to do.
[SPEAKER_01]: We'll deal with, which isn't a mock you on the next cast.
[SPEAKER_01]: They also have combat chemicals, etc.
[SPEAKER_01]: Those make more sense.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is, we're about to try and make Brad's head explode.
[SPEAKER_01]: So let's have some fun.
[SPEAKER_01]: Joukari have really all the same weaponry for the most part that the elder have.
[SPEAKER_01]: Dark lances are bright lances, the senator cannons are star cannons, shredders or death spinners.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's really basically the same thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Except for split.
[SPEAKER_03]: I was gonna say except for it theory.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're number one.
[SPEAKER_03]: Number one weapon.
[SPEAKER_03]: The popular populous weapon is splinter weapons, which shoot trash.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the shoot little crystals that are made of neurotoxins and the idea is that when they shoot darts at you basically.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a dark gun.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a really, really cool dark gun.
[SPEAKER_01]: It should work on half the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the neurotoxin does turn your blood and organs into acid.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's do it with a cool bit first.
[SPEAKER_01]: The cool bit is that.
[SPEAKER_01]: The splinter weapons are designed to not just kill their opponent, but to actually make the opponent die in absolute agony.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they can get in power if they can, they all are really the, the true cart feed off this.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's really a great weapon.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it's a real thing though, this isn't just a, where it takes me when they are next, but
[SPEAKER_03]: They actually are physically getting faster, better, stronger from this suffering.
[SPEAKER_03]: So this is a real thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: In the lore and every other addition, as the game went on as you killed people, you get, they would just get faster, more powerful.
[SPEAKER_03]: So they're actually quicker, more effective, more accurate.
[SPEAKER_03]: And that it makes sense for these weapons, because you're like, why would you just shoot them of the dark plants in the face?
[SPEAKER_03]: Because I, the dark plants gave me point one.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and this gives me a thousand.
[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's what I need.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, this is an issue here, though.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, Brad, these toxins work on everybody.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, my God.
[SPEAKER_01]: So as we said in the space wearing cast, they have three organs and a power armor that are all designed to combat poison and wounds.
[SPEAKER_01]: an imperial guardsman on the other side has flack armor maybe sometimes and litanies and the jukari poison is equally effective.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's an exactly the same way.
[SPEAKER_03]: Also on the board, same roll on the dice.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also a custod, a sister.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and my favorite one, a necron warrior.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, you poisoned the necron.
[SPEAKER_01]: The necron, the core, oh, and a demon too.
[SPEAKER_01]: Necron warriors, a blue horror.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also goes down.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to pause on this and go, when we get into the parking line and stuff like that, they some of the stories have a reason because they make poison specifically for certain things.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like at the shot at Necron.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, they have a thing that disrupts their narrow network or whatever.
[SPEAKER_03]: Poxwalker.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: Works on Pox.
[SPEAKER_01]: Works on Typhus.
[SPEAKER_01]: Just for the record.
[SPEAKER_01]: It works on Typhus.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he would be like, oh, nice.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Typhus.
[SPEAKER_01]: Just take it like give me that gun.
[SPEAKER_01]: He'd be like, there's a Typhus should get shot with a splinter weapon and it's like chasing the Drew car yelling, give me, give me, give me, give me.
[SPEAKER_01]: That was awesome.
[SPEAKER_01]: What blind is that?
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and this, uh, here's some controversial from people who play in the game.
[SPEAKER_01]: Up until tenth edition, jukari were the scourge of tyranny players, because the poison weapons worked on anything with infinite tree beast or monster keyword.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I, so if a tree now, yeah, it would work on a carnifix, which is a giant biologic monster.
[SPEAKER_01]: It also by the work on primarx,
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what it should do.
[SPEAKER_01]: I get shouldn't work on a towel battle suit.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's why they changed it because in eighth edition, I could shoot a towel battle suit and move it on to three.
[SPEAKER_01]: If I was a, I was out, what's the point?
[SPEAKER_03]: Anything that's violent, anything you can basically get to skin though.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it did make as much sense on like, you know, some of them, but things like, yeah, this drove me nuts because I do think, and this wasn't what made your playing jukari kind of fun in tournaments back then was you if you pulled a tear in a player, they were miserable because it's like, oh, see, when my entire army on threes are for us, well, some of my twos.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's a bit if you're running with a poison tongue, you have the plus one to go.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so the GW over corrected this because people got upset about it and I just think it's a mistake.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll just, I'm gonna call it out.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was more and more.
[SPEAKER_03]: Laura and Laura friendly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's like, yeah, I mean, although there were some, like, to me, you can't do the same with games too complicated, but I do think like a parent and engine.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, if I shoot the main person and dissolve the blood and the acid, I should wound it, you know, more easily.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, dreadnought sort of a trickier, skittaurier, some question marks on it, but I also think that I think the flip side is that when they shoot a robot, it should do nothing.
[SPEAKER_01]: I really used to.
[SPEAKER_01]: That was the old.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I know that it was the old rules were better because you just went, hey, I'm shooting the tank.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, your pipe and does against me.
[SPEAKER_03]: It can't hurt me.
[SPEAKER_03]: It does nothing.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's legitimately because they also, you couldn't do, you couldn't win double your toughness.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: So back, you're, or, you know, armor values.
[SPEAKER_03]: So like you, you show up with him.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna let you say armor values for a good thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm saying I'm saying it was a thing you can hurt it.
[SPEAKER_03]: So like double tough and she couldn't hurt and also these because all these poison weapons were uh, strength too.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now the cool one though is when they shoot space marines.
[SPEAKER_01]: They just go down.
[SPEAKER_01]: I just, you've no idea.
[SPEAKER_03]: Doesn't matter which concoction you shoot at him.
[SPEAKER_01]: They just died.
[SPEAKER_01]: They just die.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm in a real concoction.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like, we were low on stuff and we just put some bleach in there.
[SPEAKER_03]: Bleach in my nephew had chicken pucks.
[SPEAKER_01]: uh, it's a, it's firing bad oysters like New Orleans style.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, just watch, it'll drop them.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is, it's an issue.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll be honest.
[SPEAKER_01]: We talk about this because it's not the poison weapons spread up, beyond just the splinter, but yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's so great.
[SPEAKER_01]: But on the raid, why did we have to end with this?
[SPEAKER_01]: Because this is the best pose.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the funniest part of the whole thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I just shove it in there somewhere that, yeah, we had to talk about it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it made sense.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, to Brad's point that the whole, the, where the poison weapons make sense is that the raid has two, has kind of three elements to it.
[SPEAKER_01]: One is the final piece where the souls are taking back, but before you take them back,
[SPEAKER_01]: you have to actually first you need to create agony while you're there.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's the fear of the rates, why they're moving so quickly all over the place.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's that creates because even just the fear of a population, that's what you get, but these splinter weapons are also key one because you can't take a regiment of guardsmen back with you because they won't surrender, especially because like creek.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, so the only way to get power from fighting Cree, or we did justice to them, we'll do it more when we talk about the common belief.
[SPEAKER_03]: They do create specific poisons that just paralyze you.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they also have things of that nature.
[SPEAKER_01]: But the whole point of these weapons of the splinter weapons is that
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to, as a jupiah, maximizing the rate.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm getting my final resources.
[SPEAKER_01]: At the onset of the rate, I'm getting a bunch of power as people fear me, but also as, as I kill with my splinter weapons, the agony of their death and them screaming with their death actually creates energy and power that I can then feed off of.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's again.
[SPEAKER_01]: We don't love it.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm actually with Brad like yet it shouldn't boom.
[SPEAKER_01]: Necrons.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's some mistakes rules, but it's cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, they can also only stay in real space for so long.
[SPEAKER_01]: They are already because Lanesh starts pulling.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, we should have mentioned it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry.
[SPEAKER_01]: Our bad guys.
[SPEAKER_01]: We should have mentioned when they come into the real space.
[SPEAKER_01]: Slanesh knows they're there and this sap on their souls increases.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like by a lot.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's a power of ten.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they have, and that's why again was, but you're having so important, they have to make it pure agony while they're in the real space.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you're withering.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're seeing your soul.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're still recording.
[SPEAKER_01]: You've got to feed the way in.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so these raids, you know, that's why all these weapons, all this speed, it all comes down to that combination of the raid has to create pain, discomfort and
[SPEAKER_01]: But it also has to conclude as quickly as begins.
[SPEAKER_01]: We have to get back out of here and back.
[SPEAKER_03]: So there's not, there isn't long ceases that involve dark elders.
[SPEAKER_01]: And actually to that point, they'll bail pretty quickly.
[SPEAKER_01]: If we should have said this, we'll say it now.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you engage in the raid and you miscalculated or whatever happens, and let's say the space marine show up.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're out.
[SPEAKER_01]: Everyone goes back, you've got to murder the Ark on whose idea was obviously, but you are not, it's never worth it to them.
[SPEAKER_01]: With that, we'll let Brad go calm down.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's great.
[SPEAKER_01]: Next week, we're going to jump into witches, covens, and we're all called mercenaries.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we're the key part of the jukari.
[SPEAKER_01]: I actually like the most probably the coolest units to be honest.
[SPEAKER_01]: Best looking units and best lore, and mandrakes are.
[SPEAKER_01]: Mandrakes are the best lore.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, mandrakes are the best thing in the whole.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're finally not the worst.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they are.
[SPEAKER_03]: They spent seven editions being the worst thing in the book.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're technically playable right now.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: But they were always the best model.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they already saw them in the board.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's because someone was like, yeah, look, I know they suck, but I love them so much.
[SPEAKER_01]: We want to do it in this order by the way, guys, what we're kind of doing, the cabals and the real space raid going, it's just, it's a time thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: These casts can get really, really long.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to do a two and a half hour cast, all but a thirty minute cast, so it's why we broke it up the way we did.
[SPEAKER_01]: It also helps us talk a bit more about the witches and the covens having established real space raids.
[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, next cast is going to get a little bit messed up as we talk about covens because
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so get excited.
[SPEAKER_01]: Till then, though, this has been John Barsati and Brad Chester.
[SPEAKER_01]: Disgusting.
[SPEAKER_01]: See you next week.
[UNKNOWN]: you
