Speaker 1: What's up bout your happy hour? I'm one of your host Becca Goo friends, and I'm your other host, Michelle Young. And this week we're obviously chatting all about everything that went down on this week of Paradise. But Michelle, what makes it even more excited the day has finally come. We are talking to one of our favorites from this season, King the Geriatric Millennials, and our ultimate narrator, mister Casey himself. Oh my god, did you just introduce him as a geriatric millennial? Yes, and I can say that because I feel like I also consider myself a geriatric millennial, Michelle, So it's all about, well, yes, we do have a lot to cover this week. I'm so excited to talk with Casey, and we do want to get him on here as soon as possible, So before that, we're going to do our little catchup and then we'll get started with him. I cannot wait. Um, how was life and you've been traveling all over the place. You were just in Kansas City for a game, now you're back in LA Like, catch us all up? Yeah, I was. I had the pleasure of being down on the field with the Chiefs this past weekend. And it was such a fun weekend. I felt a little bit bad because I felt like I was like a Vikings trader. I definitely such a trader. Okay, but they're in a different conference. Okay, they're in a different conference. That makes it okay, it does make it better maybe. But also that information came from the Chiefs. That's what the Chiefs fans were telling me to say. But um no, I am still a Vikings heart. I'm still a Vikings fan at heart. But it was it was awesome. I don't think I've ever been in a stadium that has been so loud, and the way that these fans were able to boo collectively was insane. Wow. So it takes a village, Yes, it really does. Everyone's on the same page. Speaking of loud, have you now that you are in LA, have you been to the Sofa Stadium yet for Rams or Chargers game? I think the Chargers play there too. I'm assuming I have nucked. It is the loudest stadium I have ever been. Like Thomas and I went last year, and you know, like we're sitting one foot away from each other and I could not hear a damn thing he was saying. It is that loud. It sounds like one of those situations where you leave and then you just have no voice, no voice, Your ears are ringing for like two days. It's so when you go to that game, one of those games, please let me know, because we should. We should plan that to go to one of those games. And then I'm also going to order on Amazon. You know, when you're at all these like sporting events and you you have the families that are there and they have their kids and they have those headphones. You know, that's what I need. To catch me with some of those. That's what I need any sporting em but I go to UM. Well, speaking of sports, Thomas would murder me if I didn't give a shout out to the San Diego Padres this week, the Dodgers last week, and tonight there it's the next round of the playoffs, or playing Philadelphia. So when you said that you felt like a trader. I get it, because I of course love the Minnesota Twins. Like I'm not a big sports scal shocker, but I do love the Twins. I grew up watching the Twins baseball, and so Thomas has slowly been trying to convert me into a Padres fan, and I'm like, but I still love the twins butt there in different leagues or divisions whatever it is. So I feel like it's okay. So it's okay. So I understand where you're coming from with the Chiefs Viking situation. Okay, wait, I saw you because I saw him on social media. He was like, on it was either his story or your story. And it was so cute because like, there's a beer spray champagne. No, it was a beer. It was a Miller High Life. He was sworraying all over. Yes, it was nut champagne. It a low champagne bottle. It was beer. It was beer. And then he proceeded to bore it on his head and oh and and it's his favorite bucket hat that he poured it on, and he refused to wash it because he said it was good luck. I'm like, you are disgusting, you stink, you're washing this shit. Okay, you said there's a game tonight, Yes, is he going to wear how much you want to bet he's going to wear that hat? Like sitting. Are you going to go to a bar? You're gonna watch it at home? No, we're going to the game we got, So you're going to the games, going to the game. That beer smelling bucket hat, Yeah, he will not wash the hat. And now he like he never ever used to smoke cigars, but his best friend got married a month ago, and now every time so this like he smoked his first cigar at the sweating and now every time the Padres win, they have to go to the cigar bar. So he like comes from smelling like beer all over his head. Cigar. I'm like, you are rans, but I love you. But yeah, he's gonna like smell like a full on cigar beer lounge tonight at this game. And please tell me she's ready before he gets in bed. Oh yeah, I would not let him lay down without without showering at least. Um No, So yeah, shout out pods. Again, I'm not like the biggest sports gale, but but I will say there's something to be said for like when you're in an area where everybody, like the energy is off the walls, everyone is just like so invested in their team. It was really special. It was like the first big, big game that I've been part of since I've lived in San Diego. So it was a really cool experience. But I've definitely had my favorite share of sports in the past week. Right, Well, what would you say, is like your favorite like sports activity to go to? Would you say, like it's baseball, football? You don't seem like a hockey person. No, No, actually growing up because my cousins playing hockey and my boyfriends in high school playing hockey. I love hockey. I love how fast pace it is. Yeah, like football. I I can't get into football. It's too slow. I just I would rather go to and get hot dogs or corn dogs, like that's all I care about. But um okay, don't get me wrong. When I'm going to these sporting events, I do. I love like the feel of being around sports. Sometimes though, I will go in I did watch the game this past weekend. But a lot of times I will go to these events and then I get caught socializing eating all the food, like everything that I put down. I probably you know, I spend as much time eating, if not more, than actually watching the game. Don't get the first Podress game I ever went to Michelle. I got one thing, one of everything off the menu. I had hot dogs, I had nachos, I had tacos, I had a burger we had like chicken sliders. I legit ate my weight that night, and I was so happy. It was the best. It was like I was living my high life. Yeah, let's go. Well, it is the moment that we've been waiting for. We've been asking for Casey to come on the podcast for the longest time, and Beck and I typically we do a recap of each episode before our guest comes on. But because Casey is known for his just commentary and nobody can do it better than Casey at this point, so we figured we'd bring him on right away and we'd let him do the recap. So welcome Casey. Who welcome Casey. Thank you so much for having me. I feel like you just are so proper right now, like button death, Like how are you feeling? Loosen up a little bit, Casey. You know I'm hopping off a work call, so not in paradise at the moment. Well, we're going to take you back to paradise. It's like you never left the beach. He's like, oh shit, I don't want to get part of this happy ever anymore. Okay, Casey, really quick, before we get into everything with paradise, I have been dying to ask you this because I feel like you so far are the one person who has gotten the most action on the beach thus far, with all of the nipple rubbing. How does it feel to be such a hot commodity on that beach? I don't know. There was some real interest in my upper chest area, and I felt a little I don't know, I don't know how I felt about it. Was it all came, you know, immediately and suddenly, and you want to be a team player, and at the same time you're like, what is going on right now? I think I was in shock more than anybody. And yeah, you don't see it, but pretty much everybody on that beach had a good turn at grabbing me. So I love that you you label it as being a team player. A team player, I was gonna say, what would you say is the biggest difference between why do you feel like everyone? Why do you feel like your nipples are a magnet? Any idea? These are questions that you need to because you, guys. Is really really interesting considering I have not talked I don't think I've talked to you, Casey since the season. No, we haven't. Actually, the last time we saw each other was the mentel all. Yes, I was like, oh shit. I was like, I'm starting to get nervous. Do you have some like so whatever left over leftover beating, you're making Michelle nervous and not the other way around. You sit down and you're the hot seat and then everyone just fires at you. So he was like, I haven't seen you since the mentel all. I was like, oh shit, here we go. Get I also say too, Becca that Rick is a friend of mine, and he was telling me how much not only that he loved you, but Thomas especially, And so I had heard like through the grapevine, you guys saying some really nice things. And then Michael told me you guys had like a really good back and forth. I kind of I peeked in and listened to that. So I really appreciate all the all the kind words you guys have shared. Oh of course, we love Rag. He's like a brother to me. He was on tour with me a couple of months ago. So he's a good one. So let's get into this. I like, we're going to start at the very beginning. But we just this week saw something a little scary go down for you in paradise. How have you been doing since the faint if you will, or the pass out moment? So I'll give you a like as quick of a timeline as I can. So I fainted, I opened my eyes. I don't realize that my ankle is just destroyed. I actually tried to get up, and that's when I say, oh my god, I see my ankle and it looked like almost if you had wedged a football into my ankle. They quickly put me in the in the ambulance, which I did not fit in. I'm sixty three and I literally had like a third of my body hanging over. So they had a sweet nt holding my ankle like this and we had thirty minutes of fun paved rose. My leg is just going up and down. It was you know, if it wasn't so painful, it would have been the funniest thing you've seen in a you know, like a Zach Gelfhin actress movie or something. I get to the I get to the hospital in Mexico and they have to put me under do a reduction on my ankle, which is basically put it back in place. They wrapped me up, put me in a splint, throw me on an airplane. I get home, the doctors do like a cat scan. I have three different broken bones, so your ankle is made up of three bones. All three bones are broken, which is just this like insane unexpected, you know, just a bad break, as the expression goes. And I had three weeks before I could even get surgery because the swelling was so bad. They said they wouldn't be able to put my wound back in place, so they had to wait for the swelling to come down. I spent just about a little over a month, twenty three hours a day in bed, leg up. I couldn't do anything, just my Thankfully, you know, my loving parents took me in and u and took care of me in that time, and I couldn't be more grateful. Um. And then I was able to put my leg down. The swelling got better. I had the surgery, came back to Miami about a week and a half ago. I was expecting to get the news that I can start walking on a cane again. They did X rays. They said one of your bones has shifted just a little bit, and we really feel like we can make sure you're long run if we give you another surgery. So I yea show it up cast in US. Oh my gosh, and this has been because you guys filmed what back in June? So this is I think this is like four months and three days is the exact count. Smokes, Wow, you're still not even walking with a cane? Like, how are you getting around? Oh? You got that? Boo is the accessory of the summer now scooting into fall. Everybody's loving it. Who would have thought that this drama between Brittany and Peter and you would have led it to this all of this. Yeah, quite quite an unexpected turn of events and just really sad. But at the same time, you know, thank god I didn't hit my head on anything. You know, when it comes to fainting, it's just it's just completely you know, you don't know what's going to happen. I've never I've never had a fainting spill before. So when it happened, it literally, you know, they edit back and forth between the conversations happening over here and back. Does it honestly happened in a matter of seconds. The last thing I remember is turning to Rodney and saying, I feel dizzy. I think I'm going to pass out. And then I woke up. I woke up on the ground well, And and for all of our listeners who don't know and like who haven't been down either to that specific beach before or to Mexico, like those are filming in the summer, it is so hot, so humid, especially like if you're not drinking a lot of water and you're drinking alcohol, like it, they're like, you weren't off the first person that has passed out there. I swear it happens every season. People faint, they have heat strokes, so like it's intense down there. So yeah, like you said, I'm glad you didn't hit your head. I mean, obviously it's unfortunate that you hurt your ankles so badly, but I'm glad that like you had the paramedics there that could take you to the hospital right away. And oh man, yeah, in addition to the crazy heat, you know, sleeping is a big issue. I am not can create at sleeping in those conditions. And so once the sunlight comes up, it's like there's no chance of me falling asleep. Those people who just like pass out on a day bet at ninety five degrees, like that's not me. I mean, it's just a confluence of factors. And like I said it, it was a matter of seconds. I've just felt my face turned white and I'm like, what is going on? Oh wow, that's such an off full feeling. I've passed out maybe once before. It's so uncomfortable. It's indescribable really if you haven't experienced it. Casey, let's go back to day one on that beach, Like you're meeting everyone. What was your first impression like that first week of everyone. I mean, right off the bat, obviously there was a lot of beautiful women. I was very excited to meet everyone. I came in there like in my absolute best in terms of mental, physical, spiritual. I was so focused going in there in a positive and optimistic way, and I really just wanted to have a conversation with everyone. I didn't want to like, I know, some people like obviously had some degree of like, oh that's my person the day that they're going in and I was sort of like, I'm excited to have a conversation with everybody. And I'm sure because you know, those conversations didn't necessarily lead to the same degree of romance that you saw with other people. Didn't focus on the people online or like Casey hasn't talked to any of the girls. It's like, no, I talked to every girl except for maybe Serene because she was like locked down from minute one. But but actually, you know, I did talk to Serene a little bit in the beginning, and she was she was really lovely. So to me, I didn't have this mindset of like it's spring break, I want to make out with everybody, which some people did that and God bless them that you know, have your experience, But for me, I'm a little older. I'm very intentional, and I wanted to have meaningful conversations that led to, you know, meaningful action. Yeah, do you feel like you said that you're a little bit older. Do you feel like being one of the older guys was an advantage or you feel like it hurts you in this situation. I don't know if it's an advantage or disadvantage. You could definitely make a case or either one. I don't think it was the main factor, right because you can also look at someone like Michael who had a different journey than I did, and you could say there are benefits and negatives. But for me, the biggest issue was that I did feel a little bit. I felt a little different, you know, I felt that there were less people who I connected with on a deeper level. And again that's no disservice to the people that I didn't have quite of a strong connection with, But I mean, like Wells and Michael, who are both thirty eight, that conversation and that connection and the kind of stories we share, you could tell like it was a little bit more natural. I mean, I had a really good relationship with Brandon from your season. I've seen him many times off of the show, and Brandon was another person who I love and connect with who was much younger, and there was no issue there. But in general, it's just a different vibe if you, I think people are at different places in their life. And also, like you, if you've really, like me, you've been deep into your career for fifteen years, sixteen years, like it's it's just a different thing. And again I think, you know, the youthful energy is fun, but sometimes I felt myself being a little bit of an outcast in that regard. And I relate to you because last year when I went down on that beach, I was one of the older contestants too, when I felt the same way. And it's not to knock anyone like maturity wise, but it's just like life experience and you just have been through something different. I will say, though, I loved the conversations with you and Michael about this youthful energy because I totally felt were you guys were coming from. And it's not like you're one hundred years old, like you're in your thirties, like you were still a spring chicken. But did you feel like that first maybe not even like the first day, but that first week. Could you kind of see at that point like, Okay, there are still some women on this beach that I could potentially hit it off with her at that point where you kind of like, I don't know how long I'm gonna last. This might not be the environment for me. Oh no, I actually had so you just don't see it, But I had a connection with Brittany. You see me give her my rose. You don't see us having a really long conversation, a really meaningful conversation. She was, you know, very engaging, She's smart, and I like Britney a lot, and we even kissed. And I know that's crazy to say, because in the things, it doesn't seem like that ever happened. You were one of the guys. She didn't dodge no, and and in fact, if you want to get if you want to get really deep into it, we had a long conversation. She told me her story and her experience, which is a really difficult one. You know what what happened on Matt James season, and Michelle you might know even better than I do. But her coming to Paradise was a bold act and in a certain way trying to you know, get a better sort of representation of her, because she was very unfairly slandered on her season, and she was anxious, you know, she she felt the pressure of the cameras and everything like that, and so I really appreciated her opening up sharing her story. We connected and we talked about real things. I mean, Michelle, even with you, I know, when we were together, we talk about family, we talk about career, we talk about meaningful things. And those were the conversations that I liked having. And Brittany was like the first person to really have those conversations with me where she's asking real and serious questions. And then everyone knew that I had learned how to read palms on the beach because I was trying to figure out a lot of like little things I could do to get interest and you know, and she was like, oh, you know, I'm the only person who you haven't read their cong So then she comes in close and I even said to her, and this is not something I ever do in normal life, but I was like, I was like, you know, there's no cameras really around, Like you know, i'd like to kiss you or something along those lines. I like, you know'd be great to kiss it kiss. I was like great. And again, there's so much that happens on this beach that you don't see. In regards to my fainting, there's a whole whole section of stuff you don't see. So I just want people to understand, like we film eighteen hours a day and so you're seeing like one one hundredth of what's going on. And so yeah, So I was really excited about Brittany. We talked before the rose ceremony. She said, you know, I like you, I'm interested in you. I want to get to know you more. I gave her my rose. I was really excited. The next day we had Aaron and James come out. She was pretty vocal and saying she was excited to meet Aaron and wanted to get his date Rose and da da da da da, and by you know, by some point in that day she kind of came and said to me, like, listen, I think that we're better as friends, and I don't, you know, I don't want to continue to explore things. And I just you know, that was hurtful to me, but it's paradise. Emotions change, and you know, things happened. I was obviously super disappointed, and then I was like, I don't know who I'm going to talk to now, because then it was just like the march of the men onto the beach, and like whatever tiny little window I had was just dwindling and dwindling. And that was that was unfortunate, you know, did you Okay, so you do feel like there was something romantic at one point between you and Brittany. Yeah, absolutely, We both you know, expressed interest in you know, no uncertain terms and so that you know that again, but everything happens really fast on Paradise, and so that was it did because at this point, like before you man handed out the first Roses that week. Obviously we saw the clip of like when Romeo pulled Brittany tried to have that conversation of how he wanted to pursue in it with her. He was interested. And and then we see that the first kiss dodge there with Romeo. Did she ever come back to you and tell you about that or like was the first time hearing and seeing that on the show. She came to me immediately after the rose or after the swerve and was like, oh my God, get me out of here. You're never gonna believe like what just happened. And I was like, actually, I don't know exactly what happened because Romeo told me exactly what he was going to do. And I said, You're an idiot. I said, you're an idiot, said Romeo. You just patched things up with Jill, Like after all the drama with Kira and Jill like losing her mind over this, you actually somehow got yourself out of the doghouse, go tend to her and be a good you know, I don't want to be. I'm like, I said, this is going to blow up in your face. Um, and he started laughing and you know, and then went for it, and so you know, everyone's gonna do what they're gonna do. Did Romeo know that at that point you were kind of trying to vibe things out with Brittany and that you had shared a kiss or was he completely in the dark brit Brittany and I hadn't shared a kiss or like really solidified her connection until after his scene. Brittany, Yeah, okay, that was Actually that was like the impetus because at that point Britnie and I hadn't had like a long one on one conversation. That was when she was like, get me that out of here. Wait, so are you saying you could like you connected over that moment when she was like, I don't help like save. I don't think we didn't spend a long time talking about Romeo at all. I think it was just like a hey, I need to get out of here. Yeah, like and I was like, let's let's go talk. Let's because I had been I'd definitely be interested in talking to her for a while. Um, as you guys know, it seems like a free for all, but there's a lot of constraints in terms of what you can and cannot do throughout the day. You get pulled for interviews, you have to do a man chat, you have to do this, and you're like, I'm trying to like, like I was even trying to plan a like like a cute date for us, and they were like, Okay, no, no, we can we can do that. And then and I'm like, guys, like this is killing me. So you guys know, it's not it's not an open free for all. It's it's you have to really work hard to make that time for you, for the person when you're interested in. That would be so hard too, because Kasey, you also always came off as a very like creative person and like, you know, when you're kind of on I don't want to call the normal show, but like the Bachelor of bath Starette kind of what says goes right, Like you don't have a lot of wiggle room as far as like what activities are taking place. You have to be a team player. Like you said, did you think that you'd have a little more freedom on the beach, Yeah, And there was more freedom. There definitely was, And you know, I did get the opportunity to have conversations with people. I think that one of the big issues that I ran into was it seemed like so many people from day one were already sort of like linked from moment one. So Andrew and We kind of linked, Brandon and Serene were linked, Jill and Romeo were linked. So when I'd sit down and talk to Jill and I'm trying to like make some inroads with Jill and maybe like strike a connection, She's just going back and talking about Romeo, Romeo, Romeo, and like, I think there's even a clip where you see me talking to her. I was like, yeah, but if that situation doesn't work, why don't we talk about And it was hard, you know. And I don't fault them for having interest in someone when they get there. I think I had interest in someone when I got there, but she wasn't there, So, you know, we all deal with the realities on the ground. But I found a lot of times I was trying to connect on a deeper level and they sort of already had their mind, you know, in a direction I gotta ask, you ask because because you, as the official narrator on the beach thus far have a lot more intel and behind the scenes, I am so confused. I feel like so many of these couples that are now linked up on the beach have some sort of history, and Michelle and I have like touched on it on past podcast. We've like tried to learn more about we don't quite know, like what is the deal, Like what is the extent of And I'm just going to name names. Brandon and Serene knowing each other before coming down to the beach, we kind of know more about, like Jill and Romeo and Kira, but then we also have Michael and Danielle. Like it seems like there are so many people who know each other and have had conversations. Maybe they never hung out before, but yeah, please lay the groundwork for everyone on a happy hour here because we're all confused. Yeah. I feel like I am an arbiter of honesty, and I like to tell it very straight. I don't really mince words. But I don't know the extent of the back channel communication. I hear things, you know. I heard people saying I played matchmaker between this person and that person. And I also heard people saying listening. You know, we've we've we've sent messages. We've sent messages, but I don't know what degree. Okay, I heard there was some matchmaking going on behind the scenes with Michael and his new girl. Okay, I heard that. I like, that doesn't shock like, I feel like interesting, I like, but I don't know. I don't know, like the extent of other things. I don't think like Brandon Serene had ever met in person. I think some of it even starts with them going on shows and saying I have an interest in this person. And here's the thing. There is commingling. So like I went to Roddy's birthday party and we were all out there and if people don't, you know, you might name three people, Oh, I'm interested in this person, this person, this person, and then you're hanging out with Jena, Vivan and Boat and it's like, no, no, I really like, I really like Serene. I don't It could be as innocent as that, and I really without having you know, firsthand knowledge of like oh no, this, this and this happened. I'm not going to say anything that I don't know for real. But is there some degree of like back channel communication. I think it's pretty evident. I think it's it's hard to deny. What are your thoughts, what are your thoughts on people talking? I think I asked Becka this question as well earlier at a previous episode. But what what is your opinion about people having full conversations before they get to the beach, or having conversations if someone, you know, a couple were to have a conversation about like you're my person, we are meeting up right, Because Bachelor World is a small family. Once you're in it, it's weird and there's there's there's no way around each other not talking to somebody at some point like everyone's DMA, like when the seasons were going on, Like there's no way around that part exactly, but like to what extent and like to what extent of Like it's unrealistic to say, Okay, I'm never gonna talk to you, I'm never gonna acknowledge you, Like no, that's that's that's humane, like you're going to do those things. But yeah, and I think I have some friends of conversations too. I think when I think when the line blurs, When the line blurs is when you start to make some really like a game plan game plan. Well any game plan I think is kind of screwed up. And I think that it's I just think that you're not buying into the actual process, and that you should go in there like being excited for what could unexpectedly occur, you know what I mean. I think those are like some of the most fun relationships. Like I don't know, I I like watching Johnny and Victoria. They're like great and again not to say like someone who has mutual interests. It's a very complicated thing. I think the main thing is the less people communicate, the better. To your point, there seems to be at some degree of inevitability. Um So, I don't know, it's a really tricky one. I'm not trying to judge people for talking. I had a couple friendly conversations too, but um, you know, Okay, sometimes it would kind of cross the line and I'd be like, not going to cross that line. And that's hard too, And I totally get that case, and I do respect, like you do want to buy into the process, and like, honestly, as a person watching it, even with all this and viewers at home, we want to see love stories, Like we want to see these stories not only like these relationships like flourish, but we want to see them work and be successful when they're outside of this. We don't want it to be temporary, right, But also I'll throw something. Sorry I didn't even help you, but I just want to throw something out there though that people don't realize if some people are doing these back channel things to try to assure their spot on paradise, well, and now they want they want people listing as many people as they can, like saying, oh, I'm interested in this person, so that way they're a hot commodity on the beach. So they're strategy to this for sure. But I would say my biggest issue, My biggest issue is when people have these conversations to make game plans, then come down to the beach and then portray to the world as if they don't know a single thing about each other. That's where I get issue with it, because it's just like, Okay, who are you fooling now, Like just be honest, right, Like it's okay to have interest, honestly, it's okay to have conversations, like you said, to a certain extent, but it's hard when people, you know, when you're acting and you're putting on a face that and being dishonest about it and trying to you know, almost like pull one over on the audience. Okay, wait, so then, Michelle, let me ask you this, no from this season, no, no, no no, if for a time about this who from this season is kind of rubbing you in that way. See, Okay, I'm gonna preface Okay, I'm gonna preface this by saying, I truly, I truly, truly love Brandon and Serena together. I think they are they are my number one couple. They are the couple that I think is going to well. They're they're like they're Joe and Serena of last year. They are yea, like they are the couple that is, they're the real couple. Like they are the couple that honestly when I'm watching them on the screen, they're gonna engaged love each other, They're gonna get engaged. But after this, like they're gonna make it through whatever shit storm comes. And like I feel like if any couple were to do that, that'd be them. Preface this by because you know the haters are going to be like this shows no, Like Brandon and I didn't work out for a reason, Nate and I didn't work out, And I'm happy that way that it didn't work out, like my just because it didn't work out with Nate doesn't mean that my person was somebody for my season, Okay, But what I will say is it is hard to watch knowing things that I have heard back when I was in a relationship of the depth of this, and to like come down and watch people, what do you do? You know? Like that's kind of like it's more just like let's be honest, Like let's tell the real, genuine story, because you are genuine, raw people, and you they're great people, so then let's just let's be honest. So then like my Devil's advocate here and like take it to another couple, Danielle and Michael. I was gonna call him Mikey for a hot second, I don't know that well. But and then Casey, you can chime in here too, because you obviously know more. But like he they both kind of explained the situation like they had dmmed before. And I will say this, I could see the connection between the two because of their shared history. They both have lost either a fiancee or a partner, and so I could see why when they started talking. When Michael was on right after Katie's season, which was you know, like a year and a half close to two years ago. I could see why, Like I could see why she chose to reach out to be like, hey, I can relate. This is a weird world we're in now. If you ever, you know, like need somebody to talk to or you know, to vent about all of this, Like I'm here so I can understand that situation. And I'm glad that they kind of laid the groundwork for those two to explain it. Yeah, That's what I was gonna say, is like I think reaching out, Like, honestly, the best part of this whole, all these experiences, is the fact that you have these people who have been through this weird as hell experience with you, like of course reach out, of course check in, like all these seasons are going on, like those are honestly, those are like Bachelor people are the only ones to really understand what we went through, and it's it is, It's it's crazy. What extent do you explain your history or avoid explaining your history. I'll give you a funny I'll give you a funny one. I could be a funny reversal. I could be a funny reversal of this, which is that at Rodney's birthday, like, we went on a boat. We were out there for hours. Then we went to a nightclub. Genevieve was there. I get to the beach on Paradise, I'm like, hey, Genevieve. She's like, oh, nice to meet you. I'm Genevieve. I was like, we met twice, so I wish that Damn. Wait, so she let me ask you this, then, Casey, did she not remember because there was just like too much alcohol buff or is she just trying to play it like, oh I didn't know you at all because I just want people to listen there. There were there were like twenty people there, and I just chalk it up to me not being memorable enough. Oh well, it's okay, Casey, I didn't if it makes you feel better. I didn't get the invite to that party because there were no girls allowed. Oh damn. Should have felt that run flag a long time ago. I also heard too many stories about that party while I was on tour, and I'm like, I don't don't tell me anything more. I don't want to anything else about this party. So many stories, so many stories, and I'm like stop. I got so many dms that weekend. I got so many DMS. It was, it was. It was no bueno, no girls, loud, bullshit, there was plenty of Okay, okay, let's take it back to Casey, back to paradise. Yes, I'm gonna let you off the hook your Casey because we're gonna get into something. No, no, we're another kind of drama. I want to talk to Casey, nobody else. Um. So we see Peter come down on the beach, takes Brittany on that date you know, didn't go well. She comes back, So let's get into this like small bit of drama between Peter and what he was saying to you about Brittany. We saw how that all went down. Looking back, now, do you regret saying anything to Brittany about like what Peter was saying about her? Like, do you wish you would have just held it in? Or are you still like No, I stand by what I said. He was saying some pretty crappy things. I one hundred percent stand by the choice to let Brittany know that someone was slandering her. I think that, you know, I have. First of all, I heard brittany story firsthand, the fact that she was slandered before. I think she absolutely deserves a right to defend herself, and by the way, she had the full right to not confront him if she felt like, you know what, he's going home anyway. I don't want to make a bigger deal of it. That was one hundred percent her choice. I think that I would have had a total separate issue if I had either done like White Knighting and been like, I'm the one who's gonna be the one defending you, and did it like she has the right to make decisions on her behalf. I think it was her right to know what was being said about her, just like I think everybody else wants to know if someone is putting nasty things about me out in the world and speaking on my name, I want to know. I think everyone feels that way. I also, one hundred percent knew that I was not getting a rose from Brittany. And that's where it gets a little tricky, because the night when I heard that from Peter, I immediately went to tell Brittany so she could deal with it, and she was making out with Andrew, So I'm like, there wasn't a lot of like daylight in terms of what was going on. Brittany was very open about being interested in Andrew and at that point vice versa. So like, that's unfortunate. But there's there's a lot of interesting stuff that I saw back when I watched it. For instance, when I got down to the beach, I goes approached by a mob of a few people led by Andrew Spencer, who cursed me out, like straight up cursed me out. And wait, after I would talk to Brittany, you mean for just psimply telling her I got down to the beach, and it was like, you know, what the fuck is wrong with you? You just want to start drama? Da da da da, And I was like no, and then I tried to defend myself and literally Andrew says to me, I don't want to hear a single thing out of your mouth. And then there were a couple of people with him, one of which has apologized to me about the whole circumstance and was just kind of like, hey, I got caught up in the moment. I can understand people being mad that there was drama. At the same time, like I do think it was her right to know, and again, it was her decision to do whatever she was going to do with that information. If you also see I like went and we were pulled aside by the bathroom, where like I was like, no cameras can see us. It was like I wasn't making a big spectacle yea, and it It was also kind of weird that like Michael says, I like to ruffle feathers when I have never been associated with drama ever, like if anything, yes I will. I will call men out when they do disgusting behavior. But I was never like confrontational. I'm never trying to like it and stuff. Do I make lots of jokes, yes, I make a thousand jokes a day because that is my way. I love to like cut the tension and be silly. And by the way, like that line where I'm like I think I might have a chance with Serene, which you know, yes, but that was after that was after I had told Brittany they had Michael justin and I up there waiting to give us have a man chat or something. But like when I got down there, it was pandemonium. And then I was like whoa, And then I got cursed out by multiple people, um and I was I was taken aback. I was like, oh my god, what is happening. Am I getting painted to be a villain for what I really thought was doing the honorable thing? And uh and you know, the like the confluence of factors he you know, low blood, shooker, lack of sleep, all of a sudden whoosh, you know, and yeah, I don't know, no I I you know, I didn't really have a relationship with him on the beach. Um. I think some people come in there with like some people, you go up to him and this is across the board, and you're like, hey, um, how's it going, where are you from? What do you do? Dada? You're like talking. Sometimes that conversation is one hundred percent one sided, and the person just thinks you're fascinated by them, you're a fan. And then some people are like decent humans and you get to know each other and you connect. I will say there were a few people who thought they were, you know, special, and I'm like, oh, okay, you're just kind of fool of yourself. And I know that's throwing shots, but it is what it is. Listen, I don't fault you for taling Brittany. At the end of the day, and from my point of view, just as a viewer seeing it all go down, and I would have wanted to be in Britney's position. I would have wanted to know what's being said about me so I could choose what I wanted, you know, if I wanted to confront somebody. But I don't I think like from what everything we saw, like Peter was the one saying these things like there's no way around that, Like we saw it directly out of his mouth, talking shit about Brittany, and so I feel like he was the one in the wrong here, and obviously he ended up going home right after you. But I don't think it's crazy to me, Like I don't think anyone should have faulded you for that, Like obviously everyone thinks like certain things are going to stir up drama. But I think at the end of the day, it was her right to know. I would have appreciated it. I appreciate you saying that. I like it genuinely weighed heavy on my heart when everything went down, and when I got cursed out, I was like, oh my god, like I did, I completely misunderstand the situation. So no, I sincerely appreciate you're saying that, and you know, ultimately you know could better words, better situations stata like we're all human. I am in no way perfect, I am totally fallible. But that decision I stand by. And I also want to say this too. If that didn't go down, Peter wouldn't have revealed the degree of his misogyny and his nastiness. All the stuff that came out after once he was confronted was exponentially worse than him calling a cloud chaser. I mean, cloud chaser can't get all that is bad. Everything that came after was such a revelation of who he was. And here's the thing, I know Peter. I spent lots of time with Peter. I've seen Peter outside of the show in South Florida, like I know his character. I also after the mentel all we were stuck in the same suv together going back to the hotel and he screamed in my face for twenty minutes straight like after both throw it yeah, after because he hate it after the mental all because about but I'm about because I was. I was not super nice to him on the mentel all because but like he I mean, I remember as that went on right like that whole entire God, this memory lane, here we go, you know, mental all and everything he left, he left. The episode ended with him dishing out his pizza to everybody. Yeah, which is why I thought everything was like, was it his pizza? Yeah, it was. It was actually his pizza. Don't know. I don't think there's no way his pizza was delivered there, but I mean it was cold while we ate it, so I figured that it's definitely like here, it's definitely not his pizza from Miami. But yeah, I think I think one of the important things to know though, is that as much as he sort of seems to be playing up this character like that really is him. This is him, And he exposed himself when Brittany con runted him. Instead of taking a moment and saying, like, maybe I shouldn't be saying this stuff, he like went times ten. I mean, he like quadrupled down on his nasty words about not only Brittany but about women in general, and like, you know, if I have to be unable to walk for a long time to expose that, like all right, honestly, like and yeah, and at the end of the day, like that it is we all understand. It is a reality TV show, you know, certain things are put together for the show. But also too, like everything that comes out of our moms, like when you're seeing it is like what people say. And so it's like, right, he did end up showing his true colors, you know, was it in a way people would have hoped? Maybe? Maybe not? Who's to say, but I'm got it was exposed honestly. Also like, yeah, people, you can edit the show in different ways to create things to be portrayed a certain way, but film don't lie, Like nobody put those misogynistic words out of your mouth like you said that and in any scenario like the way that that was cut or edited. No, you said that from start to finish, And like that's what's so. I mean, Peter, do you think he understands what went down? Like do you think he? No? But it was really interesting. So there's two things that's really interesting. One is the first time Peter and I talked was the night when he talked to Romeo and I about the date, And at the beginning of that he actually said to me, he apologized to me about the whole mental all thing, and he said, listen, I've really been reflecting over this last year. I realized that I might have been an ego maniac on the show. I didn't necessarily need to be the loudest person in the room all day, all night. And I shook his hand and I was like, well, listen, if you if you're gonna come humbly, hat in hand, you know, I actually kind of felt bad in that moment because obviously I was calling him a d bag and stuff and during the daytime. But he came to me in a very like gentlemanly way, said a lot of really nice things. Romeo can confirm that he was there. And I shook his hand, and then immediately he went into this bullshit with with Brittany, and I'm like, this guy can't even he can't even pretend to be a gentleman for more than ten minutes. And I think it was later in that night, so he knew that I had given a roast to Brittany and then you know, ultimately got in the friend zone, and so I think he thought that I had some sort of like ill will against her, and he's like, yo, Casey, now that we have this new formed friendship, I was thinking we should attack Brittany. Let's bury her. And that's why you see in the episode, I said, his response to a bad day is let's bury her. So the other thing that people need to realize is he was literally telling me I am going to attack her. I want to bury her. Those were his words, and to not even give her a heads up. You know, it's not even just him running his mouth. It's him saying like I have an agenda or a vendetta. It was like it was more pronounced. Honestly, if you know that information, I feel like that's a moral issue. Like if you know that information and somebody's saying like that extent of those words, it's like if you don't, if you just sit back and watch them get blindsided, Like I really do appology for not being I mean, I guess what can you call it a bandwagon jumper? You know, like truly like thinking for yourself, because shit, you're I mean, you can like to sit back and watch them do that, Like that's terrible band wagon minnesotannot was. There's definitely lines that I think should not be crossed, Like regardless if it's a TV show and people are trying to like give certain soundbites or say certain things to be funny or dramatic whatever it might be, like, there are certain lines that should not be crossed. And if that was the case, and if that was said, I feel like Peter should have just gotten the boot from the powers that be at that point, because that is not okay. If that's a threat, that's not okay. Now, so that should not continued. Um casey, let's get into So we saw you leave, but then fast forward, you know, we saw what went down in the next episode where the show did this big split between the men and the women. The girls had to go to a different hotel at that point, Like watching it all now and like, how well, I would say, miserable for the girls it seemed. Are you kind of happy you left when you did or do you still feel like a part of you missed out? Oh? I absolutely wanted to be there. The person that I was most interested in meeting was Kate Galivan, who showed up for that split. So, um, you know, I will say on that day I was one hundred percent ready to go home. I'm like, I got it, I got my Paradise experience. But for me, as much as it seems like I was there to just have a vacation and hang out, I really wanted to meet someone. I'm at the place in my life where I'm one hundred percent ready to settle down. I mean literally, Like the conversation I had with Brittany was like, I want marriage, I want kids, Like I'm I'm in a great place in my life and I just need a partner to build something with, you know. So I that was my number one goal was to meet someone special, and um yeah, I mean if you hadn't had conversations with me there, I'm like looking, I was like grasping for because I was so miserable. I was like, oh God, I'm so gross. And I was like, but but if the little you know, if the little miracle just walks down, And even up until that Rose night, like all my interviews were, I have no chance. I don't see him. I don't see any way that I'm going to stay unless right before the Rose ceremony they'd bring a couple of more girls, and there were so many. The stacking was so different like before Romeo left. I think it was like six or seven dudes who were a lot of guys still. So I just kept thinking, like can they really send that many home? And kind of hold out hope that some girl that, like, you know, I can really connect with even if it's last minute. So I remained I remained hopeful up until you know, those last moments. So how has it then watching like the moment when dan Yelle walks down, because you and Michael were in the same boat up until the moment you left, like he didn't feel like he had a connection. He thought he was going home, and then fast forward in walks Danielle to save the day for him. So watching that moment back now, that kind of give you a little gut punch of like, oh, that could have been me too. My mother is texting me going like I wonder if they would have brought down Cake too, And I'm like, Mom, I don't that. I don't need those hypotheticals. Let's just pretend my my ass was going home. Honestly, I can picture you though down the road like this is gonna be. This is just gonna be a little like part of your story of whoever lucky lady you know that falls in love with you fall in love with her, And the reason why you were not on the beach was because literally higher power took you off that beach by fainting and passing out and shattering your ankle. You know, you had no way, you couldn't stay, you didn't even have an option, like you well to say, it was a you know, an act of God, and everything has a reason, and We'll continue to be optimistic and hopeful. And I will say too, like Michelle, I had such a great experience on your season, which is the reason that I signed up for Paradise, Like I really did have a wonderful experience. And you know, I try try to try to take away the best of what happens. And you know, I'm not the type of person to dwell on the things that happened to us, because, by the way, I'm still such a lucky person. I'm so fortunate in so many ways and in the most meaningful ways. So I'm just gonna I have to keep my head up and i have to just continue to press forward. So I don't know what happens Kate throughout this season. Have you perhaps talked to her or slid into those dms since your return home? Yes, I have messaged, But what I'll say is this, I was expecting to go out to LA for a commercial shoot. I make commercials idea advertising and I had hoped, you know, that would be maybe a chance where I could say hi and everything. I ended up having surgery like two days before that. And the reality for me is that man, you know, trying to start a long distance relationship when you're already long distance, it's really really difficult. It's not something that I'm trying to jump into. Paradise offers an opportunity to get to know people in this really condensed way where you were conversating for hours and you can really get to know people much quicker, and you know, those relationships really do. I mean, begga year perfect example. You know, this's like you when you spend hours and hours and days with someone, especially under stressful situation, it's like, yo, you're my partner, Like we you forge a deeper bond. So, um, I you know, I'm a realist and I'm gonna try to keep it local to be honest, and I don't. I don't, I don't, I don't need to. I'm not you know. Um God bless all the Bachelor success stories, but I'm not one of those people who's like I need to date within this world. It's like I just need to find someone who who shares the same values and has the same priorities. Right, I love you. I feel like you have any unfinished business from Paradise at all. I think, you know, I think it wouldn't be bad if Wells had a day shift, like like a day shift guy. You know, I could go and mix the drinks in the day, he could mix them at night, or even just like, you know, maybe he just needs a tag team guy, because like there's a lot of people who need a lot of drinks, and I feel like I could parse out some wisdom and provide some calm and terry and you know, also enjoy alcohol and AC. You know, I don't know. I don't know if people want Casey without AC, but definitely if they need my commentary, I'm happy to provide. I would love more of that commentary in the season's to come. It was my absolute favorite. Okay, Casey, this is going to be the most serious question I ask you this entire podcast episode. So take a moment to take a deep breath. I need to know do you always drink your glasses with two hands? All right? So I shared by the fact that you love that. That was one hundred percent me playing like a little joke because I was like, you know, I was like gossiping. I was like, I was also, yeah, I was doing like the kermit thing. Uh No, I don't. I don't usually too. I know it's I know, I don't know anything. I should take a setback. I'm very goofy Um, I'm very goofy. I'm always like joking around. I'm always trying to make people laugh. And that was just an example of one of my silly moments. Oh my gosh, I loved it. That was my I think when we did our rose on thorn that week, that was my rose because I found it so I was watching it. Remember that I was watching it back with Thomas and he legit had to rewind it to be like, can we watch Casey drink Sibiss drink again. I think it was so good. Um, okay, Casey, it has been such a pleasure having you on. Before we let you go, we have all of our guests on only share a rose and a thorn, but we always start with a resource because we love to keep our listeners informed and share important resources that we love. We also always put them on our highlights too, so people can go back and check them out. Very easily, So I'll start just to make it easy. I feel like that's the way we'd do it. If that's okay, Michelle, unless you want to start take it away, okay. So my resource of the week, I feel like I always have two, but one I haven't seen yet. One is just I'm hoping to check out this movie and the next week or two. But it's called Tail. It came out a couple of days ago. It's basically a true story based on Emmett Till's mother and her pursuit of justice after her son was brutally lynched, I think in nineteen fifty five, but that just came out a couple days ago. So I again have not seen it, but I'm hoping too in the next week. But there's a podcast episode that I wanted to share with everyone. It's from Code Switch and the episode is from August, so a little over a month ago, and the title of that one is called what does it Mean to Inherent Whiteness? And it basically goes into they have an author on this podcast that they interview and it basically goes into his background growing up as a white person in I believe it was South Carolina, and just how being a white man, especially in that state, Well, I'm just gonna say this entire country is a privilege, but people also sort of use it as like a shield to not see race. Um it's like twenty five minutes. It's a great listen. He like I said, he's an author. He has a book too, But that's a good podcast to start out. Again, it's on my highlights real so it's very easy to click the link and listen to when you're driving in the car, going grocery shopping or whatever. So those are my resources, Michelle, if you want to go next. That's so funny that you bring up Code Switch, Specca is because that's the one where like that. I was about to suggest not that episode, but honestly, anybody who's listening just that that podcast in general, Code Switch is just so interesting. It has such like a vast array of different topics that, um can that a lot of people you know should be able to listen relate any episode, any episode really, but the episode specifically called Respect Yourself, it really dives deep in how different behaviors are policed. And that's all I'm going to leave it as, just because I don't want to give too much away with that one, but on iTunes, I believe you can listen to it. I do also think that there's some like YouTube clips up as well. But like BOOKA said, Code Switch is a phenomenal podcast, pop culture, sports, just social norms things like that. Yeah, it's it's a good go too. Yeah, thank you, Michelle. All right, Casey, yeah, the hour you are up. I think that the book that I chose to bring is called Black Fatigue, and I think it's a really great book for people who you want to sort of enter into this world and enter into this conversation where they're not going to immediately have sort of a knee jerk reaction. I came from a very like upper middle class, you know, very privileged situation. And what I know and what I otis is when you put forward a book like if you even say like White Fragility or something like that, there is an instant sort of knee jerk reaction whatever people people are how they are, and they almost like take it personally even before they know what terms mean. What I really like about Black Fatigue is that it leans into empathy and compassion and telling people's stories both on anecdotal anecdotal level, but also at a higher level about iniquities from health iniquities to you know, economic iniquities, to the justice system. And so I think that when you read a book like this or a story like this, it's impossible to not feel compassionate, it's impossible to not feel empathy, and it sort of is a good entryway into some of the more challenging conversations. So I think, you know, one of the things that we can all do best as humans can kind of like listen to each other more. And I feel like that's a great entryway for people who are maybe looking to open family and friends' minds to other points of view. Yeah, that's awesome, Thank you so much, Casey. It's a good reminder that changes uncomfortable people. But as long as we're having these conversations too, like this is the place to start. So I'm glad that. I'm so glad that like, not only Michelle and I are able to share our resources, but to have people like you on Casey that can share more too, that's incredible. So no switching gears a little bit. It is time that you share your rose and thorn. And so we're gonna let you do it of your entire experience on Paradise, So not just like into one episode, but overall, your rose, your favorite highlight, and then your thorn, which is the worst, messiest moment. So my rose would definitely go to just all the wonderful people that you meet. I think, by and large, you know, the show does a great job at finding sincere wonderful people, and you also get to meet people from all over the country with all different backgrounds and stories, and so I did develop these great friendships, have these wonderful conversations, you know, buy and large, the vast majority of people are there are great, and even the people behind the scenes, you know, producers and everyone you you know, as as the old guy. Sometimes I found myself having more conversations with the old people behind the camera. But anyway, all in all, my rose definitely goes to the people that you meet. And you know, again, like we were just talking about having conversations that open you up to other points of view, other worldview, or even just people that you wouldn't necessarily hang out with, and it's like, all right, let's let's go for the ride. It's it's an adventure. It was definitely an adventure, and I I'm appreciative for having that experience and getting to meet these people. Yeah. Great, and now the bad part. You're thorn. You know. I know it's going to shock a lot of people, but I would say my thorn is that I cannot walk. Yes, are, and my foot fetish business has just collapsed a thousand percent man has gone down. Yeah, just completely dried up my bank account. He sometimes people like casts. You never know there is a market for everything. This is the problem. This is the problem when I make a joke is that it gets too real too fast. I appreciate it. Casey, thank you so much for coming Unhappy Hour. You are somebody that we have asked for to have on here for weeks. We're so happy that you were finally able to join us. We will miss you on our big screens from here on out. Your commentary gave us life. It got us through these first couple episodes. So thank you. Well. Like I said before, I couldn't be more appreciative all the kind words. As you guys know, you know we're we're subject to a lot of commentary and criticism, and you know, I really do appreciate you guys, and I appreciate the opportunity to come here and share a little bit more of my story and you know, don't be a stranger and back aft. Appreciate your your honesty and Casey, you know, I've always been, always been a fan. And it's it's cool to see our viewers, Bachelor Nation, everybody watching kind of getting a little more of an inside glimpse um this second time around to your humor, just because your specialty is definitely throwing out those one liners in the middle of these intense moments. I cannot tell y'all how many times this man had me like I got yelled at. Not I didn't get yelled at, okay, because no, you don't really get yelled at necessarily as a lead, but like just Polly and producers and things like that, because we'd be in a super serious moment, like serious faces, you know, and in case you would throw out this one liner and I would just be rolling and it it's just, yeah, it's always always comes in good time. So it's it's nice seeing your face, Casey and getting to talk to you, and I hope you're keeping your head up and not going to stir crazy with that foot over there. Yeah, thank you guys so much. He's so great. I know that that was a lot of really good information. Holy shit. I just love how he gives it to us like real he you know, he talked about his experience, but like from his perspective, because every everyone comes through each season with such different memories and viewpoints, and um, I appreciated it. And you know again he excuse me laughing. So I'm glad we were finally able to have mister Casey on here me too, And it was so nice because he's you can tell he's such an observant person, not in a non judgmental way, Like he's not a person that is observing to like judge people and make criticism. He's just like kind of he accepts everybody right, but he sits back and he observes, so I feel observes. So I feel like he has like I don't know, he's kind of like the fly on the wall a little bit in a weird way. You know. What I liked about having him on two is I mean every time we have Gusts on, we try to get the tea and get more of like the actual drama and intel of like what takes place on that beach because there's so much we don't know about. But I will say this, and I'm sure viewers had mixed reactions of the situation where he told Brittany what Peter was saying. I think hearing his story and the why behind it is even more important. So I'm glad he was able to share that and just share that he was trying to back her up and support her and be more protective because of like what she's been through, which I think is so important for everyone to hear, and like the why behind it makes it more meaningful, so I it absolutely does. But even without but even without Brittany's story, anytime a man is slandering a woman, not for it unacceptable period. Yeah, I'm glad he was able to tell us certain things that we're said, because that is not okay whatsoever.
