<v Speaker 1>Listen WWE superstar Drew mcintarr, and you're listening to the
<v Speaker 1>WWE podcast show.
<v Speaker 2>The one that everybody wants me.
<v Speaker 3>To work for your eyes, this is mind you're going.
<v Speaker 1>To acknowledge me.
<v Speaker 3>Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. Hello, whatever time it
<v Speaker 3>is with you and wherever you are, Thank you for
<v Speaker 3>downloading this SmackDown with you as part of the WWE podcast.
<v Speaker 3>As always, it's an absolute pleasure to have you listening along.
<v Speaker 3>I am a mand At, your host of the SmackDown review,
<v Speaker 3>and first of all, let me start off with an apology.
<v Speaker 3>I'm sorry. I know this show is coming later than
<v Speaker 3>it normally would have hideous internet issues which stopped me
<v Speaker 3>even watching the show on Netflix. I'm now recording about
<v Speaker 3>half nine on a Saturday night when he just finished
<v Speaker 3>watching SmackDown. My internet's and he just come back, and
<v Speaker 3>I'm hoping that it holds out so I can get
<v Speaker 3>the recording done, So apologies for the lateness. Before we
<v Speaker 3>start the review, let's have a look at the predictions
<v Speaker 3>that I made last week. Let's see how they worked out,
<v Speaker 3>and I think I did pretty well. So first prediction
<v Speaker 3>was the Intercontinental title match between Dominic Pinter and Ruseph.
<v Speaker 3>My pick here was Dom and that was spot on,
<v Speaker 3>although they do seem to be fully refusing to turn
<v Speaker 3>Dom face. Next up, we got Jade versus Tiffany. This
<v Speaker 3>is as I feared. We got Jade and Tiffy drops
<v Speaker 3>the title. Boo Punk versus Jay, Thank god Punk is
<v Speaker 3>champ at last, and long may he Rain. Drew versus
<v Speaker 3>Cody had a Cody win here and that's what we got. Now,
<v Speaker 3>what about any returns, Well, no returns as such, but
<v Speaker 3>we did get seen as announcement of a tournament to
<v Speaker 3>determine his last opponent. He said it could be any brand.
<v Speaker 3>He also said expects some people that don't even work here.
<v Speaker 3>So I am sticking with Jericho and I will die
<v Speaker 3>on that hill. Right, Let's get to it and review
<v Speaker 3>the SmackDown the Air the seventh of November from Greenville,
<v Speaker 3>and we start off with one of our looks back
<v Speaker 3>over Saturday Night's main event and first out tonight we
<v Speaker 3>have Cody and he has always asked the crowd what
<v Speaker 3>they want to talk about. He says, we can talk
<v Speaker 3>about Saturday Night's main event. He says Drew introduced the
<v Speaker 3>title into the match and introduced a weapon and the
<v Speaker 3>crowd to a whole round of Cody Cody Roads, and
<v Speaker 3>he says, what a great show it's going to be tonight.
<v Speaker 3>He gets back on track and that goes back to Drew.
<v Speaker 3>He says, Drew doesn't understand, does not understand the reluctance
<v Speaker 3>to Paul the trigger has cost him in the past,
<v Speaker 3>and there was no way that he was going to
<v Speaker 3>hesitate versus Drew. He goes on to say how impressive
<v Speaker 3>Drew is and how when he walks into a room,
<v Speaker 3>everyone turns around. He also says that he's the most
<v Speaker 3>self sabotaging wrestler in history of the business. He says
<v Speaker 3>that Drew him that he's now in his rear view
<v Speaker 3>mirror and he's moving on, and he says that tonight
<v Speaker 3>he wants to do something different, and he wants to
<v Speaker 3>go sit in the crowd and watch, and he says,
<v Speaker 3>and then we can all decide who gets the title shot. Next.
<v Speaker 3>We then get black Out Alistair Black his music kits.
<v Speaker 3>He comes out with Zelena and he tells Cody that
<v Speaker 3>if he's moving on, he says he is ready for
<v Speaker 3>something new, so he would be perfect opponent. He says
<v Speaker 3>he has on his shoulder and it's about the size
<v Speaker 3>of the championship. Cody takes off his tie, so obviously
<v Speaker 3>he means business. But before he can go for Black,
<v Speaker 3>Zelena pretty much slaps his face off. Nick appears and
<v Speaker 3>tells him to chill. He sets the match and they
<v Speaker 3>get the main event. Now, hang on a second. Black's
<v Speaker 3>just come off a couple of title shots at the
<v Speaker 3>US title, hasn't he and he lost? How does he
<v Speaker 3>jump from a mid card loser to top of the
<v Speaker 3>shop like that, hoping that this one is one and done,
<v Speaker 3>so to speak, A pretty standard opening to tonight's show. Obviously,
<v Speaker 3>Cody out first challenge from Black. It's all just a
<v Speaker 3>bit weird. We now get some arrivals. I was a
<v Speaker 3>bit worried then that we weren't going to get to
<v Speaker 3>see people arriving with their suitcases. But I didn't need
<v Speaker 3>to worry. We've got them. We've got Bliss and Flair arriving.
<v Speaker 3>Flair is going to go one on one with Nia
<v Speaker 3>Jack's tonight, and we've got our new champion. Jay to
<v Speaker 3>Jesus Iliad Dragonall with another open challenge, and in the
<v Speaker 3>walkway he goes nose to nose with Tamatonga, so I'm
<v Speaker 3>guessing at some point we're going to get him as
<v Speaker 3>the challenger. But who's it going to be tonight? Iliah says,
<v Speaker 3>for the legacy of the championship and the challenge, who
<v Speaker 3>will step up? We get champers music and he comes
<v Speaker 3>out mike in hand with Johnny Candice. He says that
<v Speaker 3>he came out last week to answer the challenge, but
<v Speaker 3>Ilia denied him and called him a jackass. He goes
<v Speaker 3>over his accomplishments. He's a two time NXT champion and
<v Speaker 3>he's a two time something else champion, and he says
<v Speaker 3>he's come to Greenville to be surrounded by jackasses to
<v Speaker 3>tell him that the title is his. He says, ring
<v Speaker 3>the bell and gets in the ring. The crowd are
<v Speaker 3>chanting jackass, and Ilia says, you were right. I accept
<v Speaker 3>the challenge from him, but he points at Johnny. Johnny
<v Speaker 3>looks a bit sheepish, but nevertheless, he pretty soon jumps
<v Speaker 3>in and takes the opportunity. Champer backs off and seems
<v Speaker 3>to head backstage, and we've got this match. This is
<v Speaker 3>Iliah versus Johnny, and Johnny starts off pretty strong with
<v Speaker 3>Candice at ringside, Ilio though quickly fighting back with I
<v Speaker 3>think three very impressive suplexes in a row. Johnny with
<v Speaker 3>some brilliant moves, hitting a wicked looking poison Rama which
<v Speaker 3>looks pretty cool. This one finishes off after about ten
<v Speaker 3>minutes a massive kick by Iliaut with a huge souplex
<v Speaker 3>back into the ring from the apron, which is pretty
<v Speaker 3>impressive looking at real feet of strength, really very impressive.
<v Speaker 3>He finishes it off with an h bomb, so we
<v Speaker 3>get Idio dragon Off retaining. Of course, I'm really enjoying
<v Speaker 3>this open challenge. I'm loving seeing Iliah in full flow
<v Speaker 3>and once again make his opponents look awesome. I mean,
<v Speaker 3>Johnny is pretty awesome. He doesn't need much help. I
<v Speaker 3>guess we've got Champer up next, then Tamatonga in the wings.
<v Speaker 3>I hope Iliad dragon Off cutes hold of the title
<v Speaker 3>for a while though, because I'm loving what he's doing
<v Speaker 3>with it. Next we go backstage where Nick is chatting
<v Speaker 3>to one of the refs and we get Sammy in
<v Speaker 3>and he wants to talk to Nick. He said he's
<v Speaker 3>had enough of the MFTs. He said, you know, he
<v Speaker 3>isn't cleared, but he wants to be at ringside to
<v Speaker 3>help Phoenix. Later, Nick says, no way, he can't take
<v Speaker 3>that liability. Sammy says fine, but he won't stand around
<v Speaker 3>for much longer. We then get Truth in. He says
<v Speaker 3>he wants to be in the drawer for seeing his
<v Speaker 3>last opponent. Nick says, your name's already in. So Truth
<v Speaker 3>takes his balls and leaves. So let's break down that
<v Speaker 3>segment really quick. So let's talk about Sammy. I mean,
<v Speaker 3>what is the point of this. Sammy isn't cleared. He
<v Speaker 3>wasn't cleared last week and he isn't cleared this week.
<v Speaker 3>So why does he keep asking? Literally no one else
<v Speaker 3>does they just run in willing nilly whenever they think
<v Speaker 3>they will. I don't get it, really, honestly, what is
<v Speaker 3>the point? I guess we're building it. Sammy's a really,
<v Speaker 3>really good guy and he just wants their help. Is
<v Speaker 3>for Whens just a pointless fella, That's what I think, Fella.
<v Speaker 3>Then the truth bit just an excuse for balls to
<v Speaker 3>be said a few times on TV. I betripl H
<v Speaker 3>still laughs at his farts. And now another look back
<v Speaker 3>at Saturday night's main event and the travesty that is
<v Speaker 3>j Car Gill being our new champ. We go back
<v Speaker 3>to Champer backstage and Johnny calls Lah a psycho and
<v Speaker 3>fracks him up. Heer and called Champer a jackass and
<v Speaker 3>basically take the mickey out of him, and he looks
<v Speaker 3>suitably fuming. We now get Jade out to what sounds
<v Speaker 3>on the TV like booze, and some cheers, honestly when
<v Speaker 3>they want. When ww we wanted us to cheer for
<v Speaker 3>Jade when she was a face, we didn't, and now
<v Speaker 3>she's a heel seems to be getting some cheers, which
<v Speaker 3>is weird. She's got on some weird sm M outfit,
<v Speaker 3>but that's her choice, right. Cole says to Corey hit
<v Speaker 3>was just a matter of time. Me personally, I would
<v Speaker 3>say it was grimly inevitable, like a BBC Sport montage
<v Speaker 3>at the end of the Olympics with a song by
<v Speaker 3>Paul McCartney or Wales going out of any major football
<v Speaker 3>tournament at the group stage is grimly inevitable. Anyway, Jade
<v Speaker 3>is in the ring looking very heelish. She says, you
<v Speaker 3>also what happened to Tiffy and that goes for anyone
<v Speaker 3>else in the locker room. She says, I'm that bitch
<v Speaker 3>chuck the mics and leaves she's met on the ramp
<v Speaker 3>by Art, which makes the crowd a rup. It seems,
<v Speaker 3>though that Flair and Bliss were just making their entrance
<v Speaker 3>for Flair's match with Nya and not intentionally Charlotte challenging Jade.
<v Speaker 3>But that's definitely the tone here. They faced off on
<v Speaker 3>the ramp and Flair really wanted to get some of Jade. Now,
<v Speaker 3>let's not jump the shark. I don't want to see
<v Speaker 3>Charlotte go straight back into the singles title picture. I
<v Speaker 3>would like to see her have her fifteenth title soon,
<v Speaker 3>and I would absolutely love her to be the one
<v Speaker 3>to whoop Jade. But let's have a bit more Flair
<v Speaker 3>and Bliss before they split, please. So Flair is out
<v Speaker 3>here to face Nia. Before then, though, we have Chelsea
<v Speaker 3>backstage with alba A Meeching and Beef over there. Meechin
<v Speaker 3>tells her that she already isn't the longest reigning chant
<v Speaker 3>because Julia just passed her. To be fair to Chelsea, though,
<v Speaker 3>as I said last weekwe have done the sum total
<v Speaker 3>of Sweet Fa with Julia and the Belt and it's
<v Speaker 3>been an absolute cluster. Chelsea goes off on one, telling
<v Speaker 3>them that she's already the greatest champion on SmackDown, only
<v Speaker 3>for Jade to appear behind her. Jade says she's going
<v Speaker 3>to kick a hole in Chelsea's chest if she doesn't
<v Speaker 3>shut up. Chelsea disappears. Jade tells Beefab to move, and
<v Speaker 3>Beefab starts chopping off and slagging her off to meet
<v Speaker 3>in to which Jade comes back and tells Beefab she
<v Speaker 3>does what she does and if she has a problem,
<v Speaker 3>she can step into the ring with her next week,
<v Speaker 3>so that will be probably an absolute massacre of Beefab.
<v Speaker 3>Then hey, look, maybe the Woman's Championship on SmackDown is
<v Speaker 3>now the mid card belt, I mean champion Jade and
<v Speaker 3>the first match Befab Jesus Nya, and there is a
<v Speaker 3>ton of woos instead of booze. And this one that
<v Speaker 3>kicks off with Jack's trying to outpower Flare and Flair
<v Speaker 3>trying the same thing, nothing doing for either. They're pretty
<v Speaker 3>much canceling each other out. Charlotte manages to down Nia
<v Speaker 3>and lays into her, but it is flattened quickly by
<v Speaker 3>a head butt. Charlotte, of course, putting up a good
<v Speaker 3>fight and has the crowd one hundred and one per
<v Speaker 3>cent behind her. She's doing well, and now we've got
<v Speaker 3>those patented Flair chops as well. Nia misses the Annihilator
<v Speaker 3>but manages to get Flair up on her shoulders. Flair
<v Speaker 3>has Nya tied up on the ropes and delivers a
<v Speaker 3>near a knee sorry to the chest, earning Flair a
<v Speaker 3>near pin from nowhere. Random event of the night, Lash
<v Speaker 3>Legend comes through the crowd and starts assaulting Bliss at ringside.
<v Speaker 3>This distracts Charlotte enough to allow Naya to hit the
<v Speaker 3>Annihilate and take the wind to absolutely massive booze. Well
<v Speaker 3>that was completely unexpected. It looks like Lash and Naya
<v Speaker 3>have budded up rent to mate, I guess. So there
<v Speaker 3>we have it. Lash Legend called up and as a
<v Speaker 3>heel paired with Naya the botch Jacks. Now, I haven't
<v Speaker 3>seen much of Legend, but I have seen a bit.
<v Speaker 3>I know she's good, so maybe that's why she's been
<v Speaker 3>teamed up with old botchy chops. Are we getting them
<v Speaker 3>as a tag team? Looks likely? And will it be
<v Speaker 3>them that take the titles or will it be the
<v Speaker 3>Kabuki Warriors. Now I won't mine seeing Naya and Lash
<v Speaker 3>Legend face the Kabuki Warriors. What a clashing style that
<v Speaker 3>would be. So that was a surprise, and let's see
<v Speaker 3>where it goes. I have been winging on and saying
<v Speaker 3>for weeks, if not months, that we need some new
<v Speaker 3>blood in the woman's roster on SmackDown, and now we
<v Speaker 3>have some, so you can't complain. Get a bit more
<v Speaker 3>info on the drawer of this final tournament. For Sina,
<v Speaker 3>it's going to be Miss and Jayuso, which we knew
<v Speaker 3>in the second match La Night versus a surprise. Please
<v Speaker 3>let it be Jericho, and now we've got the US
<v Speaker 3>title match Julia with Keana James and our Handbag versus
<v Speaker 3>Chelsea Green. For then, though, Kathie's got Naya and Lash
<v Speaker 3>Legend backstage and she asks how this pairing came about.
<v Speaker 3>Nya says her and Lash aren't friends, they are allies.
<v Speaker 3>She's just taking the p out of Flair and Bliss though.
<v Speaker 3>She says they said she needed a friend and now
<v Speaker 3>she has a friend, and the joke's on them because
<v Speaker 3>she's found Lash. She says they faced each other over
<v Speaker 3>on NXT. She knows what a badass, Lash is, and
<v Speaker 3>that's why she's her friend. Lash says she's the Boodie
<v Speaker 3>Bully and says, clearly she is what she says she is.
<v Speaker 3>She says they're going right to the top, and tonight
<v Speaker 3>we've just to beginning, So yes to them being a team.
<v Speaker 3>Then well that's interesting. You can color me intrigued. So
<v Speaker 3>back to this title match, and out comes Chelsea to
<v Speaker 3>a good reception, another example of WWE trying really really
<v Speaker 3>hard to force somebody to be a heel with all
<v Speaker 3>the gimmick and the character work, but actually we just
<v Speaker 3>want to cheer Chelsea. We really like her. And we're
<v Speaker 3>off and Chelsea starts off with a slap to Julia,
<v Speaker 3>who gives her a head butt back in return, Julia
<v Speaker 3>hits the ode a dirtcy and gets a two count,
<v Speaker 3>and Julia is dominating. We've got Keana behind the rest
<v Speaker 3>back and then from literally nowhere, we have Chelsea and
<v Speaker 3>a sneaky roll up of Julia with feet on the
<v Speaker 3>ropes and she gets to win, and Chelsea is our
<v Speaker 3>new champion. Wow, a title change in a match under
<v Speaker 3>two minutes, in the middle of a SmackDown from random
<v Speaker 3>wherever the hell it is in USA. Way to bury
<v Speaker 3>not only Julia but also the title. I mean, I'm
<v Speaker 3>delighted to see Chelsea backers champ. Don't get me wrong,
<v Speaker 3>but wow, how is a random match between Cody and
<v Speaker 3>Alistair Black for literally nothing main event? And this is buried?
<v Speaker 2>Just wow?
<v Speaker 3>What next for Julia? What next for Keana and more
<v Speaker 3>importantly her handbag? I mean, let's please just let us
<v Speaker 3>see a US title open challenge on the woman's side. Please.
<v Speaker 3>My flabber is well and truly ghasted. I think the
<v Speaker 3>match was under two minutes. It's literally on the one
<v Speaker 3>hour mark of the show, and wtf is the main event?
<v Speaker 3>This is all I've got. I am just shocked backstage
<v Speaker 3>now with the MFTs and they're all looking very cast
<v Speaker 3>Cross perhaps someone has broken in and messed up their
<v Speaker 3>face painting box or something. Solo tells the good job
<v Speaker 3>last week, but it wasn't good enough. Sammy is still
<v Speaker 3>walking around The Wyatt six have something that belongs to
<v Speaker 3>the family, as does Ilia Dragonov. He tells Talatonga to
<v Speaker 3>go out there and make a statement. Whyat six appear
<v Speaker 3>and does anyone know what belt Nikki Cross is carrying?
<v Speaker 3>Or is it just one of those replica like weird
<v Speaker 3>ones answers on postcard, please we now have that much.
<v Speaker 3>This is Phoenix Ray, phoenix 's is Talatonga and pre
<v Speaker 3>match some helpful Phoenix as motor City machine guns and
<v Speaker 3>Shinske take out the rest of MFTs, but that does
<v Speaker 3>not last long Predictably, predictably, Talatonga using his massive power
<v Speaker 3>advantage to smash Phoenix up a bit, but Phoenix not
<v Speaker 3>doing too bad using his speed. But it's smashed again
<v Speaker 3>and then again for good measure, and Phoenix is getting
<v Speaker 3>absolutely mollard here on the crowd are hating this. Talent
<v Speaker 3>Hoonger dominating and takes the win, which literally surprises no one.
<v Speaker 3>Talent Hoonger and Solo going for some afters, but Sammy
<v Speaker 3>music hit Sammy's music hits naughty Sammy and he chases
<v Speaker 3>off Solo and Tonga with a chair. We then get
<v Speaker 3>some excellent pointing from Solo, and it isn't even mainly
<v Speaker 3>a season yet, so you know he's getting in there early.
<v Speaker 3>But you know, Sammy asked and he got told no,
<v Speaker 3>and he came down with a chair. Anyway, I mean,
<v Speaker 3>you know what they say, it's always better to seek
<v Speaker 3>forgiveness rather than permission. And I think this is the
<v Speaker 3>case here anyway. So matches for next week we've got
<v Speaker 3>confirmed Jange versus b Fab and the mystery match late
<v Speaker 3>Night versus Surprise please be Jericho. We have missed. Backstage
<v Speaker 3>with Kathy, she asked him about Mellow. He says that
<v Speaker 3>was perspective, not payback. He says he made Mellow relevant.
<v Speaker 3>He says he beats Sena at Mania and there shouldn't
<v Speaker 3>be a tournament. He should be the final opponent, he says,
<v Speaker 3>highlights fade legacy doesn't and he says he will be
<v Speaker 3>the one that ends Seena's career. I think this has
<v Speaker 3>got the wrong end of the stick there. It's not
<v Speaker 3>ending his career, it's his final opponent. You're not trying
<v Speaker 3>to kill the guy anyway, I don't think so. Can
<v Speaker 3>you imagine what an anti climax that would be Sena
<v Speaker 3>versus miss Maybe ten or fifteen years ago, but not
<v Speaker 3>in twenty twenty five. No, thanks, main event time now.
<v Speaker 3>And I say that through gritted teeth and the smoke
<v Speaker 3>of my burning bra as I am outraged This hastily
<v Speaker 3>pulled together Rando match is the main event anyway, off
<v Speaker 3>we go with an even start, both guys taking each
<v Speaker 3>other down. This is about one hundred miles an hour
<v Speaker 3>this match. After Black landing pretty much everything he has
<v Speaker 3>in his locker, Cody kicks out numerous times. He finally
<v Speaker 3>hits Cody cut and gets a close cover. We're gaining control. Briefly,
<v Speaker 3>both men take each other down with a double kick,
<v Speaker 3>and then, surprising no one, we've got Drew out. However,
<v Speaker 3>what is surprising is that he claim ores the ref
<v Speaker 3>what the hell that was unexpected? But he clearly has
<v Speaker 3>an issue with this official and guessing that this is
<v Speaker 3>the same guy that officiated his match at Saturday night's
<v Speaker 3>main event. Either that or Drew's just completely lost his shit.
<v Speaker 3>He's telling him all about it as he's laying there
<v Speaker 3>on the mat in cloud cuckoo land. Cody, our hero
<v Speaker 3>to the rescue, takes takes out Drew, and then Black
<v Speaker 3>gets stuck in and now we've got both Drew and
<v Speaker 3>Black on Cody. We've then got priest music kits and
<v Speaker 3>he comes out to make the same and it all
<v Speaker 3>breaks down, pre staking out Black, Cody taking out Drew.
<v Speaker 3>It's a right old brawl at ringside, and then we
<v Speaker 3>get Nick come out, puts a stop to it all,
<v Speaker 3>and he suspends Drew, telling him that he'd warned him
<v Speaker 3>and that he had this coming, and we go off air.
<v Speaker 3>We've basically got Nick in Drew's face telling him that
<v Speaker 3>he's suspended and that's it. So that's Drew out of
<v Speaker 3>the picture and on for some kind of dramatic return
<v Speaker 3>at some point. Be interesting to see how they return him,
<v Speaker 3>whether they try and turn him face or when he
<v Speaker 3>stay his healing most heel. Well, I don't really know
<v Speaker 3>what to say about that show. Not a great one.
<v Speaker 3>That main event was a bust, with the exception of
<v Speaker 3>Drew clay More in the official because who doesn't love
<v Speaker 3>to see a referee get smacked? Right? Has anyone noticed though,
<v Speaker 3>Drew versus the ref and Everyone's against me is alarmingly
<v Speaker 3>similar to Becky versus Jessica Carr The ref over on raw,
<v Speaker 3>rinse and repeat. But now we aren't even waiting for
<v Speaker 3>the story to finish. They are literally just changing the
<v Speaker 3>names and running at the same time mugging us all off. Look,
<v Speaker 3>I'm really glad to have Chelsea Backer's champ, but as
<v Speaker 3>I said, what about Julia? What have they done?
<v Speaker 2>To her.
<v Speaker 3>She came up with such fanfare and she's just been
<v Speaker 3>absolutely yeah, oh she's been rinsed. I just words fail
<v Speaker 3>me with this show tonight. Listen. I know this has
<v Speaker 3>been a slightly shorter show than normal, but as I
<v Speaker 3>explained at the beginning, I am late thanks Vodafone Broadband
<v Speaker 3>late recording, had to sandwich everything into to the rear
<v Speaker 3>half of my day and as I said, only just
<v Speaker 3>finished watching the show. So my apologies to the latenst
<v Speaker 3>Once again, my apologies for the shortness of the show,
<v Speaker 3>and I can assure you old you everything in my
<v Speaker 3>power to get things back to normal for you guys
