Speaker 1: Money to the local Toyota Dealers KSR postgame show. I'm Matt Jones here at the KS Bar and Grill, where it is a happy crowd after a forty one to six victory over Ohio at a hot at times Kroger Field.

00:00:16
Speaker 2: Max Duffy is joining me. Max.

00:00:19
Speaker 1: I want to each of us a five nine, twenty two eighty seven. I want to each of us kind of give our takes on the game, but give me the short version before I let you give it along. Overall, a good day.

00:00:29
Speaker 3: Absolutely, don't take for granted when we make teams like this and take care business. Uh you know, we've seen plenty of times in the past where we haven't take care of business. Took care of business today did everything I thought we needed to do. Is always going to be one for more, but took care of business and very happy.

00:00:43
Speaker 1: Yeah that's that. So my take is overall, very very positive day. Forty one to six. Ohio's not great, but they are a contender in the MAC. I mean that's a team that is probably projected top three in the MAC. I thought Kentucky came out, you know, a couple struggle a little bit offensively to start, but The defense was great for moment one.

00:01:04
Speaker 2: I mean really, defense played well.

00:01:06
Speaker 1: You know, they allowed one big play on the drive that led to a touchdown, but for the most part, defense was dominant, did not allow Ohio to run on them. That was Ohio's strength. Kentucky shut that down. Ohio ended up playing a backup quarterback and it showed. But does it don't take away from Kentucky's defense playing excellent. Offensively, they ran the ball from moment one, so running. The running game was again strong. Passing game took a little while to get going, but then Brock ends up throwing for over two hundred yards. Dang Key, with his career best game played excellent. Only there was only one drop that I thought was a blatant drop. Baryon dropped one, but otherwise, generally speaking, pretty good in the passing game.

00:01:51
Speaker 2: Pass protection.

00:01:53
Speaker 1: Better. Still not perfect, though, you know, taught me about that him out a lot more, for sure.

00:02:01
Speaker 4: I mean, it's it.

00:02:03
Speaker 3: If you're giving up precious, you're gonna move the pocket right. You can't just let him tee off on him. So obviously they've decided, Hey, this is going to be the go from now and let's roll him out. Let's get some boots. That gets some play action pauses on the script, and to me it looked good. I mean, dant to be a happy man right now.

00:02:18
Speaker 1: He should be, and and you know they're gonna have to sometimes roll left. It was always right. But I will say he throws pretty well on the move, like like you know, I mean, he tends to get get the the you know, the speed on the pass, even with which I think is is impressive. I was not thrilled with the end of the first half, which we'll maybe go into some more detail later. I don't think it should overshadow the game, though, because I think the game was a really positive contribution and now you get old missed uh next week.

00:02:51
Speaker 2: I don't know what to expect in that game.

00:02:53
Speaker 1: To be honest with you, there's about any result wouldn't surprise me. But I think you got to say, if you think about where we were two weeks ago, Max and now to now, you got to feel a lot better.

00:03:04
Speaker 3: I mean, you got to feel so much better than what we felt two weeks ago. We taught you know it was it was doomsday. It was the end of the world. We were all saying, you know, this could be a three and nine season and et cetera, et cetera. Weeks a long time in football. Two weeks is even longer, and you know, to keep it on the last drive, they had forty yards, Matt, forty yards are rushing, so we kept them to seventy. Basically for the game before, we just said, you know, that's the game, that's the end. And to keep them to seventy, I think we kept Southern Miss to five and Georgia to rushing rushing yards. Rushing yards kept Georgia to whatever it was last week is very low. Our defense is going to keep us in a lot of games this year. We just got to be able to not turn the ball over and not give up the sacks like we did at South Carolina. Basically, I feel like if we could have that South Carolina game all over again, the game plan would be completely different. Everything we did played into what we shouldn't really do as a football team.

00:03:56
Speaker 4: Now. We tried to drop back pass, we tried to throw the ball a lot.

00:03:59
Speaker 3: Now, I think if we had that time again, we run the ball against South Carolina, you know, forty fifty times whatever it is, and we played that game so much different.

00:04:07
Speaker 2: It would be interesting to see if you could flip it.

00:04:08
Speaker 1: And we played Georgia in week two in South Carolina in week three, but you know, we didn't, and it is what it is. But I uh I was happy a couple of bright spots to me.

00:04:20
Speaker 2: One, the Willcox kid's gonna be really good here.

00:04:23
Speaker 1: I mean, like he's got You gotta give Demi a ton of credit for how he runs the ball.

00:04:30
Speaker 2: But will Cox got a burst, you know what I mean? And we we.

00:04:34
Speaker 1: Ray Davis had burst, right, even Benny especially early had burst. Then we were kind of used the more physical running back with Snell and Rodriguez and and Demmy.

00:04:43
Speaker 4: Rose used to be that one that used to write for it.

00:04:45
Speaker 1: He reminded me of of Ray Davis and before him Boom, the way they could just if they got they got in gear gone.

00:04:52
Speaker 2: And it's nice to have a guy like that.

00:04:54
Speaker 3: He carries eighty y odds, so you averaged ten of carry. Uh I thought he was really really impressive. And Drew said it the pregame show like the biggest broad spot for us. Honestly, so far, we kind of knew what we're getting with the defense, but it's coming in and we were like, how's that running backs? Where I'm going to be. They've been great, They've been really really good. And the even broadest spot is we think we've got the best one coming back next week.

00:05:16
Speaker 1: That's what Yeah, Chip, I think we'll play next week. Brock vandergriff I thought played well.

00:05:21
Speaker 2: You know.

00:05:23
Speaker 1: What I like about Brock Vandergriff is I think this is not a situation where there was some worries after the South Carolina game. Could this guy just be like a bust Ye? I don't feel like that's the case. I think he is. Whether he's going to be more Levis, more Leary, I don't know that I can say yet, to be honest with you, but I do. I thought he did play well. He made the plays when he had time. He's tough, right, he'll take him yep, And I like that. Sometimes he didn't need to lower his head on that one.

00:05:56
Speaker 5: No.

00:05:56
Speaker 4: He did slot a couple of times today, though, which is But.

00:05:59
Speaker 1: I mean we're thirty one six and he's out there lowering his head. I don't know that that's necessary. Gavin Wimsy came in, liked what he did. Sometimes he's gonna have to when he comes in during the real game hand it off because he runs it every time. But I thought the last drive at the end, I know, all games over, but I thought that was a really good drive.

00:06:17
Speaker 4: Too, very very positive.

00:06:19
Speaker 3: I don't I'm not sure if we can just sub him in and every time run a jet sweep and yeah, like you said, he just keeps the ball and runs.

00:06:25
Speaker 4: I think that'll get old pretty quick. But they both looked great.

00:06:29
Speaker 3: I mean when I say great, they both both very much improved. I think, you know, going forward, we can't rate Brock as a as a drop back passer. It's gonna be hard this year, right, So his ability to scramble, get out of the pocket and create stuff. Today he looked like he can do that, like he could do it. Yes, we want him to slide when we play Ohio or Southern Miss, but the fact that he's willing to take those hits is really gonna be massive for us. You know, next week when we take on Old Miss, he's just gonna have to run through every game.

00:06:55
Speaker 1: He's gonna have to he's gonna have to play. He's gonna have to play better than he played in all these games. But I also think he can I mean I think I'm generally positive about about Brock at this point, very positive about the running game, very positive about the defense. We switch punters, much to Max's happiness, and the first pump was fifty eight yards. So generally speaking, I'm pretty happy with with with where things are and now the Old Miss game is quite a test. I kind of wish we were playing Old Miss on the schedule where we're playing Texas on the schedule or Tennessee. But we go down there with the shot. You know they're not They've not played anybody yet. I think when that spread comes out tomorrow, it's gonna be a lot closer than the average fan in college football would think it is.

00:07:42
Speaker 2: Don't you agree. I think it'll be what ten to twelve?

00:07:45
Speaker 4: Maybe?

00:07:46
Speaker 3: Yeah, you think with Vegas analytics, like how we've been able to control the run, it's going to be a lot closer than what people think.

00:07:51
Speaker 4: Yeah.

00:07:51
Speaker 1: Now, speaking of analytics, I do before I go break, I got to talk about you in the first half, not because it mattered, but because it drove me insane. They have to find a way to get some nerdy on the staff, some nerd on the staff that knows math.

00:08:11
Speaker 2: For the end of these halves because the time management.

00:08:15
Speaker 1: I'm sitting there at home and as they're making mistakes, I'm like, what are we doing? How are we running design quarterback draw with forty five seconds left at midfield?

00:08:26
Speaker 2: Right?

00:08:27
Speaker 1: How is it the case that we let the play clock run out? I mean, whoever, I assume it was a bush Hampden called the plays. They're running multiple motions and there's twenty seconds left on the clock, like you just gotta get up to the line of scrimmage.

00:08:41
Speaker 2: Then they decide to go for it, not kick a field goal.

00:08:47
Speaker 1: What bothers me is there's no consistency in the decisions that they make, which tells me that they just kind of go with it. If we were gonna go for it last week, we didn't.

00:09:01
Speaker 4: Go for it, yes, correct.

00:09:02
Speaker 3: We almost did everything today like it was last week.

00:09:05
Speaker 1: And we did last week like this week. Yes, like they took the opposite decision, which tells me they don't have a philosophy.

00:09:14
Speaker 4: Yep.

00:09:14
Speaker 1: And then Mark Stoops in the radio interview after it was over said, you know, a lot everybody was telling me to go for it. I should have stayed with my gut and kicked well. First of all, it's your decision. Yep, And he did say it's on me, so I'm not He wasn't passing the buck exactly. But everyone on the team should know what you're doing. You should have a philosophy in those situations. When he said I went with my gut, No, that's the opposite of what I should never hear the phrase when it comes to time management, I went with my gut. There is a science to this, there is a math to this. Do the math right, don't the gut? I mean, it's been a large urge of his recently.

00:10:02
Speaker 2: I think stuff you you you just you just can't. You've got I don't.

00:10:09
Speaker 1: I actually think kicking was the smart thing to do right there, because it's third and eight or nine if you get it, if you don't get a first down, half INDs well.

00:10:19
Speaker 3: What worried me though, is the mentality like we're coming out, we got no timeouts left. The team must know that, and we we love him on the show. He's Ryan's favorite, obviously. But Dane's jogging out. I don't know if you notice this, Matt, Dane's jogging out to his position and we get the delay of game, Like, what do we we gotta get You got to know the play clock, you got to know how long's left, you got to know all the things that go with that. You're getting out of field goal range. Except and he's just jogging out there, and you know, he played great. It was his best game in a long, long time. We're obviously able to target in. But just the mentality of like are we we got to be practicing these situations, so how are they not switched on to like we cannot afford a delay a game right there, and he's just jogging.

00:10:57
Speaker 1: And that, and some of that is on Brock right, like you can't take a sack there, But it's more I don't understand the philosophy, Like even when we got the first down at the beginning, I'm just think about the decisions we get the first down, clocket, don't waste the time out, don't.

00:11:13
Speaker 2: Run a quarterback, draw under a minute up the middle, right, don't allow the play clock to go out.

00:11:21
Speaker 1: All those are their math decisions, and I just hate how we don't we don't make them. I do like that half you're a wadding eight five nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. Text machine is seven seven two seven seven four five two five four. Want to hear your thoughts of the game. Are you happy? I was walking around the bar talking to people. People seem generally pretty happy about everything. So uh, go ahead and make it happen. We'll take a break and be right back. It's the Local Toy Dealers KSR postgame Show.

00:11:48
Speaker 2: Welcome back.

00:11:49
Speaker 1: It is the Local Toy Dealers KSR postgame Show here at KS Bar and Grill.

00:11:54
Speaker 2: Had a great crowd here after the game. Come on up.

00:11:56
Speaker 1: You can watch games tonight Tennessee Oklahoma Night will be on at this place. Have a lot of a lot of big game, a lot of great games going on right now. You got l s U U CLA tied at the half, Louisville leeds Georgia Tech by three at the half, Michigan up fourteen to three against USC Miami of Ohio was leading Notre Dame fourteen. Now Notre Dame has taken the lead. So a lot of games going on. Bandy has Missouri on the ropes. Yeah, it's ten to seven and so a lot of good games going on and they're on all the TVs here. When I got here, Max, sometimes you say I try to take control too much. I came here, all the TVs were on the UK game, okay, but the sound was on a different game.

00:12:36
Speaker 2: There was not on any of.

00:12:37
Speaker 1: The television's what game UCLA, L s U, so that the only game on TV was Michigan USC because it had been set for Kentucky.

00:12:45
Speaker 2: Yeah, and then no other thing was on.

00:12:49
Speaker 3: Did you notice when they went to the ESPN broadcasts for the start of our game, it.

00:12:52
Speaker 4: Was just on mute seconds?

00:12:55
Speaker 1: So we got it fixed now, and now we got all the all the games off.

00:12:59
Speaker 2: If I'm not two aight, oh twenty two eighty seven? Who's up next?

00:13:02
Speaker 6: Ryan?

00:13:02
Speaker 2: Ryan? Go ahead? Ryan?

00:13:04
Speaker 7: Hey, how y'all doing tonight?

00:13:06
Speaker 2: Doing today?

00:13:07
Speaker 8: Miss evening? Maybe y'all staying cool? I'm sure you got a few hands hotter and heck out sid, But I just got a couple of things like, so do you think I mean, I'm not trying to dog on Miami Ohio, but granted their team's not really I would. I'm not gonna say they were a cupcake team. But do you think that this win do you think it maybe changes the morale of how the team is because or does do we all think that Kentucky's only gonna win, you know, maybe three games this year.

00:13:34
Speaker 2: No, no, no, I think.

00:13:37
Speaker 1: I think they're gonna win at least six and this at least yeah, at least six. I think they're gonna Wait, they're gonna they're gonna beat Bandy.

00:13:46
Speaker 2: That's four. I think they win Auburn Florida.

00:13:48
Speaker 1: That gets you to six, and then hopefully they also beat Louisville, which gets you to seven.

00:13:52
Speaker 4: So uh well, I was I was saying that.

00:13:54
Speaker 8: I was saying, you know what after that Georgia game, you know, because of how we played and how offense was, and then offense today, I'm like, you know, this is like typical scoops though you know, it's like they scored.

00:14:05
Speaker 2: Fort they didn't score forty one points today. Yeah, I know what I mean.

00:14:09
Speaker 9: But you think about you okay, so you think about that.

00:14:11
Speaker 8: We scored forty one points on a Miami the first one.

00:14:15
Speaker 1: We didn't play Miami, Ohio. We played Ohio and we scored, but we scored forty one. Let me, I mean, listen, we scored forty one. I know that, like Tennessee will put up sixty sometimes, forty one against anybody is good.

00:14:28
Speaker 2: It is, It's.

00:14:29
Speaker 8: Good about like the old miss, So like, do we need to score forty one fot No, we're gonna.

00:14:33
Speaker 1: Miss maybe and I don't know if we can. But you can't be upset about the offense in this game.

00:14:39
Speaker 4: I'm not, no, no, no, I was.

00:14:40
Speaker 8: I was actually proud of how our offense played. I'm just curious of like, you know, this is like, like I said, this is like a Mark.

00:14:46
Speaker 10: Stoops though, like we play.

00:14:48
Speaker 9: You know, we should have beat.

00:14:49
Speaker 8: South Carolina, you know, we we had Georgia, but like if our offense would have showed up in that Georgia game, then.

00:14:54
Speaker 1: We would be playing the best defense in the country and they While I wish the offense had been better, I don't think you can say, hey, you lost to Georgia by one, so your offense stinks. I mean we played Georgia closer in that game than anyone's played them in four years, in the regular years.

00:15:12
Speaker 8: And that's probably and we're probably and then Georgia's probably honestly, god like, that's probably the closest that george is probably going to beat the heck out of most of their pains that they play, you know, because every time they face Kentucky.

00:15:22
Speaker 4: It's always a heck of a game.

00:15:23
Speaker 8: That's always one of the best games to watch because it's always a good game.

00:15:26
Speaker 2: Yeah, but I appreciate the call.

00:15:28
Speaker 1: I don't really I mean, I I totally understand being upset about the South Carolina, but I don't think the last two weeks MAX have been anything but progress.

00:15:41
Speaker 4: For the offense.

00:15:42
Speaker 3: It's like you said, if you want to be negative and positive, you're always going to find a way. Like if you want to be negative, you say, last last week, well they didn't play their offense, which no one knows if they played their offense or not. And then this week you're like, well we only beat a high Well yeah, it could have been close as well. Like what do you want? What did you want us to do? What could have possibly made you happy? Forty one to six is a good victory, I said, don't take it for granted, Like today could have been one of the We've had letdowns after the Georgia games for a long long time. We've gone in got beating by Georgia, and the next week we have been miserable. Yeah, dating back four or five years, and now like what are they putting in front of me?

00:16:18
Speaker 1: Uh?

00:16:19
Speaker 3: Now, you go into this game, you get the job done. I think that's a massive positive.

00:16:22
Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it's a forty one points is good for the offense. Now, are we gonna be able to score forty one against Old Miss? That's gonna be much harder. Ye would forty one even certainly win against them? I think it would. I don't think we're gonna I don't think we're gonna allow Miss to score more than forty one. But you know, this was Ohio and they scored six.

00:16:42
Speaker 3: Last time in Oxford. Uh, if I remember correctly, it wasn't a high scoring It.

00:16:46
Speaker 1: Wasn't high scoring. But I think their offense is really really one hundred percent. I mean I think it's it's really good. Who's up next, Dalton, Dalton, Go ahead, Dalton. It is absolutely poor an outside, it's so weird the rain today. Go ahead Dalton.

00:16:58
Speaker 9: Oh yeah. I had a couple of points until this dude Ryan called in. I want to address this thing first, Like, go back two weeks ago, efter we lost to South Carolina, and he said, I just I just can't imagine what we're gonna do in Georgia. What is soup's gonna say? Or what are we gonna see you in Georgia? Is gonna make us feel better? And then fast forward to the Georgia and this game. I mean, what more could you have asked for? We couldn't even have imagined it.

00:17:19
Speaker 2: That's true.

00:17:20
Speaker 1: If you take to the postgame show after South Carolina, the idea that we would be sitting here, Dalton would yeah.

00:17:29
Speaker 9: Yeah. And my other thing I want to shout out a couple of broadcasters is there's a tiny segment between the SEC scoreboard and all. This was Jeff Piccorro and Dick Gabriel and they really they really click. I don't know if they have a show together.

00:17:40
Speaker 11: They should.

00:17:41
Speaker 9: It's kind of like when You're away and threw it Ryan run the show. It's more of the boys club.

00:17:46
Speaker 1: And then I mean, I hang out to saying it like Dalton, that doesn't seem I'm good with the Coro Gabriel compliment, but that feels like a little bit of a shot to me.

00:17:56
Speaker 9: No, it's not a shot. It's a different show, just like when you when you fad this, it's not the same all.

00:18:03
Speaker 2: Right, Well yeah, I mean I.

00:18:06
Speaker 1: Thought you were like for Cooro and and uh Gabriel great Drew and about you.

00:18:13
Speaker 9: Yeah, okay, being sensitive. I need to bring back Pennett deep and then I think I've got our timing situation figured out. Yep, markups and Vince. Their their young sound. They're blue collar, They're hard nosed dudes, no nonsense. I think they just look at all these I'm surely you're not the only one that's saying that, dude, we're not doing man, that's I don't know that we're playing football.

00:18:34
Speaker 1: Yeah, defense, I don't think has anything to do with that decision. I appreciate the call, but I don't know. I just don't know if Mark. I don't know if his mindset is like that. I mean, he's his mindset is he looks back. This is just my read of him. He looks back at the Georgia game at the end of the first half and says, we did that right. And he looks at today and goes, we should have kicked the field goal. In his mind, the play is always feel God and when, And I think not kicking it here will make it even more likely he'll he'll always kick it in the future.

00:19:08
Speaker 3: I think you've got to and I agree with you. He seems a little confused, I think you've got to buy into one philosophy one hundred percent.

00:19:15
Speaker 4: Either way it's going to be.

00:19:16
Speaker 2: So.

00:19:16
Speaker 4: For example, when we were at Murray's. When I was at Murray.

00:19:18
Speaker 3: State last year, coach Hood he has a sheet and he just it is all the scenarios that you could possibly have. Obviously there's going to be some outliers sometimes, but there's as many scenarios.

00:19:27
Speaker 4: As you can think of. It tells you what to do.

00:19:29
Speaker 3: He will just follow that one hundred percent, because in the moment when you try to make rash decisions, you're like, well, why didn't I just think back to when I was thinking logically and do that, And so for me it's like we just seemed very confused with what we're going to do. It's like, oh, well we should follow analytics sometimes to keep people happy. And then sometimes he's like, well, no, this is the way I play. I think you just got to go all in on one and then just keep it and just be happy.

00:19:51
Speaker 2: In my opinion, there should be a sheet.

00:19:55
Speaker 1: You should say ninety five percent of the time I'm doing what this is okay, there might be a minute or two that for whatever reason, the sort of intricacies of the moment of that game make you do something different. But in general, I think you would say I'm doing this nine.

00:20:13
Speaker 3: I mean, even going into the game, you could be like, all right, who are we playing. Let's look at the sheet and let's decide, hey, if we are in this position. So, for example, they have a sheet for kicking, whether to kick or go for twop, and I bet you coaches.

00:20:26
Speaker 2: Do it ninety nine percent of the time.

00:20:29
Speaker 1: I think we're going to get to a point that we do that for these end of games, and we're gonna look back and go. You know, they used to go with their gut on whether to go for one or two, and then at once some point they said that's not the way to do this, and I think that's gonna happen with this too.

00:20:44
Speaker 6: At some point, who's next, Legallette, what's up?

00:20:49
Speaker 9: Hey, Matt WinCE? That looked really good, And I was wondering if we could get some more touches. And here's a reason a lot I keep brought getting rushed by the defense, and I think it would be beneficial because he's a duel threat and to get out of the pockets. Also, we could use him in certain offensive situations. Maybe on like a third and one or third and two forlperate purposes, maybe on the fourth one thought he you know, could have gotten first down. I mean, could we use him in those type of situations more?

00:21:15
Speaker 1: I think all of those are applause. I mean there is a case to be made after after today that and I appreciate the call that whims it, that whims a play more. I don't I don't know that you want to put him a lot more because I do think you have to keep a quarterback in a rhythm. But yeah, I mean there's a case to be made that there should be he should get some more plenty.

00:21:38
Speaker 3: This situations where he can be used for sure. Again, you don't want to get into the position where he comes out and it's predictable what we're trying to do exactly.

00:21:46
Speaker 2: And I think that's the thing you have to make sure doesn't.

00:21:48
Speaker 3: Brook can run just as Bruck's not so as if Brook has come out and being the god that's like, oh well, we can only have him in the pocket.

00:21:55
Speaker 2: He Rock is not fast, but Brian is tough.

00:22:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, And I from what I've seen in general, makes the right decision is to win the run and win not, and so I think that's that's possible.

00:22:08
Speaker 6: Who's next, Jared and Nicholasville?

00:22:09
Speaker 12: Jared, go ahead, Jared, hey man, you know, I'm happy about the win today and we played great. You know one Kate, I want to point out, I really you can talk about Barry on Brown Day, Key and Sumo like all you want and brought all you want.

00:22:25
Speaker 9: I think our title are.

00:22:26
Speaker 4: Tight endgy to be in Baltimore and Georgia had a game of.

00:22:29
Speaker 9: Day because especially when I take the run, you know, I.

00:22:31
Speaker 1: Mean, you know, I've been We've talked about tight ends for ten years, and I made the decision last year and I'm kind of done saying throw to the tight end because I just don't know how much it's ever gonna happen. I wonder, and I appreciate Caul, Why do you think that is? Like why don't what I mean, we've never really spent a whole lot of time throwing at the title.

00:22:52
Speaker 3: I mean, I think it kind of buzz into the whole Kentucky mentality of like, you know what, what don't we have? And when we have an issue, we just go, well, why don't we do that? So it's I think it's a little bit of that. It's like, well, when we throw the ball a lot and that doesn't work, we say why don't we run it? Then when we run the ball a lot and we don't throw it, we say, well, why don't we throw it? And then if it's neither of or we just go, well, why don't we throw the tight ends?

00:23:14
Speaker 4: We never throw it to the tight ends.

00:23:15
Speaker 3: It's just something to give us a bit of hope when we when we don't go well, I mean we've got some good tight ends.

00:23:20
Speaker 4: It's not that we threw it past the dingle today.

00:23:22
Speaker 1: That's the thing. That was a good catch by Dingle too. I mean it was that was a big position. I think it was a third and long and he got it and so yeah, that was a big that was nice.

00:23:30
Speaker 4: And that's the thing.

00:23:31
Speaker 3: It's there's three or four guys and and sometimes as well, like understand that it doesn't always have to be tight ends that are connected to you know, inside the core as I would say, so you know, connected to the line. So we put Catus outside today a little bit we put Dingle outside, like we are throw into some tight ends.

00:23:50
Speaker 1: Sometimes it's not right. Here is one of my ESPN how you doing people? He was at the party with us last week saying those to UK. Nice to see you all parents weekend. Thank you guys very much.

00:24:01
Speaker 6: Who's up next, Miles?

00:24:04
Speaker 2: Miles, Go ahead, Miles. That was going on, guys, what's going on?

00:24:10
Speaker 6: Hey, I'm calling.

00:24:11
Speaker 13: From uh the uh the sunny sound of keen I, Alaska today.

00:24:16
Speaker 8: All.

00:24:16
Speaker 2: Oh, yes, have you called before right from Alaska? Yeah, I've called a few times before. Yes, Well how are things in Alaska?

00:24:24
Speaker 4: Ah?

00:24:25
Speaker 11: Cool?

00:24:25
Speaker 14: And Sonny and I'll too bad, We're good.

00:24:28
Speaker 9: Yeah.

00:24:30
Speaker 13: It was calling to say, you know, it's obviously there are things that you can all complain about, and I think kind of some of the things I've seen are just schematic and coaching sort of issues. But I think uh AC truly one of the most positive things is especially after deflating loss like South Carolina, I've seeing these kids, you know, still continue, especially with Georgia and then today, you know, buy and sell out and it's great to see a team, you know, after getting beat like that, still putting the and.

00:25:00
Speaker 2: I totally agree with that, totally agree with that. There was I mean, I was worried.

00:25:05
Speaker 1: I think Max was a little concerned, like after that South Carolina game. I mean, is they're not gonna quit, are they? And they certainly have not. I mean they came out in that Georgia I think it was good we played Georgia the next week because you and uh and then you know they played. I thought they played very well today, the defense, and I appreciate the call, even the South Carolina game. I mean we gave up thirty one. Ten of those the offense handed the points to them, yep, through whateverything, and then I think the I think the defense has been awesome.

00:25:36
Speaker 2: It is go back and watch Dean Walker.

00:25:39
Speaker 1: In the first two possessions, Ohio cannot run at all.

00:25:44
Speaker 2: He kind of gets hurt on a play and he sits out.

00:25:47
Speaker 1: The next two possessions and Ohio drives down the field, they fumble and they're able to run through them.

00:25:52
Speaker 2: It is amazing the difference that dude makes.

00:25:55
Speaker 4: I mean, he's gonna be I mean.

00:25:58
Speaker 1: It's amazing, like Ohio was able to run it once he went out, but when he came back in, they were done again.

00:26:05
Speaker 3: I think, you know, you don't want to have this obviously. This is why Alabama Georgia are such good programs. You're allowed one mulligan. To me, you're allowed one mulligan. We were obviously very very annoyed it happened earlier in the season, but you allowed one mulligan. It's the it's the response after that, and the response has been amazing. I mean, the effort against Georgia was incredible. Today was great again. I think that show's obviously not only do they, you know, have some pride in their own performance, but they have a lot of pride and a lot of respect for the coaches because they would know at that point they would hear the talk like Stu Stoops in trouble is my other is my position coach in trouble, especially for the O line like and them to come out and produce the effort and performance that they have means that they have.

00:26:46
Speaker 4: Some respect for those guys.

00:26:47
Speaker 3: Will you did you like the decision to change punters. I wasn't against it one hundred. I mean, you have to write like it's fifty six yards in the air. When was the last time we saw that that's that is guy?

00:27:02
Speaker 1: Well, there was a guy from Australia that was pretty good at it, but he can't get fifty six or fifty eight in the air.

00:27:07
Speaker 2: He sometimes he was able to roll it a little bit.

00:27:09
Speaker 4: Come on, now, you will watch it closely enough. Sometimes it was it was sixty plus.

00:27:13
Speaker 1: In the ad.

00:27:13
Speaker 3: It okay, fair enough, No, but that's what it is SEC football, and if, especially with the topic game were going to play, you have to be able to flip the field.

00:27:22
Speaker 4: You have to be out of punt like that and teach him how to go comfort and make some tackles. I loved it.

00:27:25
Speaker 3: I think it was awesome. It was a touchback, but uh, which people made the joke it was still thirty eight yards net. Yeah, it's actually we should have had just on it. Anyway, But who's up next?

00:27:36
Speaker 6: Will Will?

00:27:37
Speaker 2: How are you will?

00:27:39
Speaker 14: Oh, I'm doing great?

00:27:40
Speaker 2: How you go doing good?

00:27:42
Speaker 14: And just a couple of things I think Vander Griff you know, I'm sitting here screaming sold the ball. He seems like he wants to hold the ball for quite a bit too long, or he's not seeing the field. Maybe your thoughts on that, But also.

00:27:57
Speaker 2: Go ahead with your other question.

00:28:00
Speaker 14: By other questions you can answer them both.

00:28:01
Speaker 4: Not hang up.

00:28:02
Speaker 14: But anyway, do you think stuops you know when the offensive play is called does he kind of like calling audible and say, hey, we're not gonna go with that, let's let's run the ball, because it seems like.

00:28:13
Speaker 2: That's a sixty four thousand dollars question.

00:28:15
Speaker 1: Bush Hampden said this week that he does not overrule it, and you know, Max asked if that was like a hostage being told that, But I don't, you know, I don't know.

00:28:25
Speaker 14: Do you think it appears that way?

00:28:27
Speaker 1: But yeah, well, I mean, we don't know, and I appreciate the call he might. Do you think Brock holds the ball too long? I do not all the time, but sometimes I But again, it's hard on television week because we don't see the whole receivers to see where people are. But it does feel like he holds maybe a half second too long.

00:28:46
Speaker 3: Maybe, But I think that's just the competitiveness in him, Like that's just wanting to create a play for the team, and especially you know, if I was broken off, I finally get the chance to pass, you know, instead of handing it.

00:28:56
Speaker 4: Off, I think I'd be like, I'm gonna take advantage of this one.

00:29:00
Speaker 1: He did have, He did have a he didn have a player to one of his throws. To Dane was because he held up yes, down the sideline, down the sideline. If he doesn't hold on to that, then that play doesn't develop. So so so he did get about a forty yard game because.

00:29:17
Speaker 2: Of that on the play.

00:29:18
Speaker 3: Yeah, and I mean again, it's scramble scramble mode. He's trying to create something with the other question. There's obviously that famous clip of Stoops saying just run it, run it, give it a be any run it, run it. I think he decided and I genuinely believe this, and who knows. I obviously joked about it in the pregame show, but I think when he made that switch to Cohen, I think he has given and people can say whatever, and he will come with a philosophy, there's no doubt.

00:29:43
Speaker 4: But I think he allows him to call it.

00:29:45
Speaker 1: I will tell you, and I think he would be fine with me with with me saying this. When Cohen decided to go to Tampa Bay, there were some fans who sort of said, you know, he uh, he leaves because he doesn't get to do it. And Mark said to me, you can ask Leam. I let him do whatever he wants. And I asked Leam and Liam said, and at this point he's left, right, he said, Mark, lets.

00:30:14
Speaker 2: Me do what I want.

00:30:15
Speaker 1: And the bottom I don't know if that was true the first time Liam was here, but I do think it was true to say.

00:30:19
Speaker 3: And the bottom line right now is is even people that are saying that he's handcuffing, we cannot drop back pass yea thirty times a game. So that's not him saying, hey, I don't want to do that. It's we should not do that. It's true, we should not do that. Yeah, five nine, eight zero, twenty two eighty seven. Who's up next.

00:30:37
Speaker 6: Let's go to Jimmy.

00:30:38
Speaker 2: Jimmy to take this one and take a break. Jimmy, go ahead.

00:30:42
Speaker 14: Hey, Matt, Jimmy's getting excited again.

00:30:46
Speaker 2: Well good, I want you to be excited, Jimmy. That's what we need.

00:30:49
Speaker 5: Yeah, Jimmy was really down after South Carolina math, but now getting it.

00:30:55
Speaker 2: Well, I uh, I'm getting excited too. Listen. I think they've I think they've got a shot next week.

00:31:01
Speaker 1: I'm not I don't know that I'm gonna pick him, but I think they've got a shot. And then they get a bye, and then they hit a part of the season where I think they can make some noise.

00:31:12
Speaker 14: Hey, guess who have thought the game today? Matty Sagary?

00:31:18
Speaker 1: Oh Shagari, Well he's saying he'd have been hard to miss. Shagary was there? Was he salted dancing?

00:31:25
Speaker 9: Yeah, I asked him about it. I'll ask him.

00:31:27
Speaker 2: About Oh, don't ask you that, did he? I hope he didn't ask you?

00:31:32
Speaker 5: No comment?

00:31:32
Speaker 14: He gave me no comment.

00:31:34
Speaker 2: I appreciate the call. Do you know who Shigary?

00:31:36
Speaker 4: I did not?

00:31:37
Speaker 1: Shagary Allen was a he was. I think he's the tallest player in UK history. He was seven foot four. You need to look him up. Look up Shagary Aleen. Okay, uh he played. I want to say early mid s h A G A R I A L L taught him.

00:31:55
Speaker 2: That is not him?

00:31:56
Speaker 1: Not his name is not his name is not No, not Shagary Aleem Chegary Aleen. All Right, I want you to see this guy his full height, and then I want you to tell you he is a he is a salsa dancer. Now to dunk at seven foot four he is now a salsa dancer.

00:32:16
Speaker 3: And yeah, it's what does he have to dance with two ladies on top of Hilda Jonas while we're.

00:32:22
Speaker 2: On the break here. All of you at home should do this too.

00:32:24
Speaker 1: Google Shagary Aleen salsa and there's a video, I believe, on the Internet of him doing it and the girl is half his heart.

00:32:31
Speaker 2: It is one of the most amazing things you'll ever see.

00:32:33
Speaker 1: A five nine two twenty two eighty He was on the Today Shows dancing. He's eight, he's friends with Mark Pope. He's uh, we will take a break. A five nine two eighth twenty two eighty seven. This is the Local Toy Dealers KSR Postcape Show Welcome Back. It is Local Toy Dealers KSR Postgame Show. Happy Birthday to Walker over there, it's his birthday. Max really likes Walker because he's wearing the long Snappers jersey.

00:32:57
Speaker 2: You don't see that a lot.

00:32:58
Speaker 4: You don't see that at all.

00:33:00
Speaker 3: Sides, family members, When is the last time you'd have said someone walk around me? Firstly, who even knows who the long Snapper is? Secondly, who bulls to buy the gin?

00:33:07
Speaker 2: I like it, though.

00:33:08
Speaker 1: I like a kid who's like, yeah, I don't need Dion Walker, Brock, Vander Griffberry and Brown dang Key.

00:33:14
Speaker 2: I am for the long Snapper and I don't. I don't even know who.

00:33:17
Speaker 4: He's the backup long snapper at the moment too.

00:33:20
Speaker 1: Oh that that is actually the backup long Yes, yes, nice, which I love. Last if he was related and he said no.

00:33:27
Speaker 4: Yeah, he's just like no, I like this guy. What do we tall?

00:33:29
Speaker 1: That means UK is selling actively the backup long snap. Do you think that's the only person who's bought it.

00:33:35
Speaker 3: I think they'd be a long left. I think they'd be especially in that size too.

00:33:40
Speaker 1: I love it all right, we got a couple up in lines eight, five, nine, two, twenty two eighty seven. It's a postgame show. I want to hear from you. Uh, come out to chos Bar by the way, NFL all day tomorrow. The Bengals don't play, so we'll have all ten ten games in the early games, we'll have them all on all across the Uh the televisions here.

00:33:57
Speaker 2: Who's up next?

00:33:58
Speaker 6: Let's go to Austin and Pike.

00:33:59
Speaker 2: Austin In, pipe bulle, what's up Austin?

00:34:03
Speaker 11: Hey man?

00:34:03
Speaker 15: Love the show? Just want to call in it' say, great game today, pretty favorable for my DraftKings two and I wanted to clear something up you were talking about Cody earlier this week and not paying his dues.

00:34:16
Speaker 2: Yes, what I'm talking about.

00:34:18
Speaker 1: Yes, I do Cody that Cody so so so people know Cody and I had a bet who is gonna win the presidential race, Trump or Biden.

00:34:28
Speaker 2: I bet Biden. He bet Trump Trump.

00:34:30
Speaker 1: Biden of course has dropped out, and Cody now says he wins, and there hasn't even been an election yet and Biden is not in it. And I said, no, you canceled the bet when a team doesn't play, and and and then I was told that Cody shouldn't get the bet. He doesn't even pay his dues for fantasy football as it is. So so, do you have a comment on if Cody pays his dues?

00:34:55
Speaker 15: Yes, I'm actually commissioner of that league, and he didn't pay his dues.

00:34:59
Speaker 2: Oh, you're the commissioner.

00:35:00
Speaker 1: He did pay his dues. Okay, Well, as the commissioner, you would agree. I did not lose the bet. It got canceled by the way. I offered to remake the bet with Harris and he won't do it. So it shows you that maybe Cody's a little chicken.

00:35:16
Speaker 15: I believe the sportsbooks would call that avoid a.

00:35:19
Speaker 2: Bet that is avoided. Bet. Thank you very much, commissioner. You got anything else, that's all right.

00:35:25
Speaker 3: I appreciate it shows you why he's voting for Trump though, you know, for fake news of him not paying the Jews and.

00:35:29
Speaker 2: Oh no, stop it. You know we don't, we don't make such comments.

00:35:32
Speaker 1: It was a it is just a bet, and uh, I'm willing to make it again, Cody. The bet was that I would buy him dinner and if not, and he would cook me dinner. If the if the Democrat, who if you had that, cook dinner, I'm not cooking it.

00:35:48
Speaker 2: I will take him out. I'm not. I'm not.

00:35:51
Speaker 3: If if he loses, he cooks you dinner, he cooks me dinner? Would you want to eat? That's because what's he making you? That's a fair point. I need to see the menu or is he just gonna send you a pager or something?

00:36:03
Speaker 2: Who's up next?

00:36:04
Speaker 6: Dale? From Springfield?

00:36:05
Speaker 2: Dale from Springfield? How are you? Dale? When's the Sorghum Festival?

00:36:10
Speaker 4: Dale?

00:36:12
Speaker 2: I think it's like a week after next because.

00:36:14
Speaker 1: Okay, gotcha, I'm coming. I'm going to ham Days this Friday in Marion County.

00:36:18
Speaker 16: So uh well, hey, man, if if Cody cooks you a deal like this suit count as a.

00:36:24
Speaker 4: Meal field resperence at Sidefeld.

00:36:30
Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I got you that. Well, okay, you're talking about what was the name of the comedian? Uh man?

00:36:38
Speaker 2: You well done?

00:36:38
Speaker 4: All right, go ahead, tells the Oval Tene jokes.

00:36:45
Speaker 1: Hey, hey, bet sir, you're gonna need to talk in the phone. We can barely hear you.

00:36:50
Speaker 4: Oh I'm sorry. Hey, Max Stuffy. Ye, my second favorite kicker besides Nathan Hasley just played for Morehead. Max Stuffy is awesome. Love Max s Duffy.

00:36:58
Speaker 2: There you go.

00:36:59
Speaker 5: That's very nice of you, Yes, sir, Yeah, I mean, but hey, everybody should be happy, right forty one to six, I mean, good win.

00:37:06
Speaker 14: Everybody's feeling good going into the Old Miss game.

00:37:09
Speaker 2: And I just Matt, I want to tell you.

00:37:12
Speaker 16: I appreciate what you guys do because this week, it has been such a weird week in Kentucky's with all the news.

00:37:19
Speaker 9: Stories going on.

00:37:20
Speaker 17: It's just all the craziness, you know, it was nice to deal with tune into you guys.

00:37:25
Speaker 14: And kind of bring it back down to a calm level.

00:37:28
Speaker 2: Thank you very much.

00:37:28
Speaker 1: It has been a This has been one of the crazier news weeks in the history of this state as far as I can remember. I appreciate the calling. Some of it was kind of fun and some of it definitely wasn't fun, and.

00:37:41
Speaker 2: Uh yeah, it is crazy.

00:37:44
Speaker 1: But I one of the things I love about the show, probably the thing I love about the most about it, is it is kind of like the sort of community roundtable of Kentucky. And I do appreciate that, and thank you for saying that. It was so many stories this week which wild from the Fred and Sheila finding the body, to the awful thing in Letcher County to the representative in Louisville.

00:38:09
Speaker 2: It was just something crazy every single.

00:38:12
Speaker 4: Day and it kind of got us through.

00:38:13
Speaker 3: I mean, whether good or bad, it kind of got us through a week where we were going against not Miami of Ohio, but Ohio, Ohio, and uh yeah, go us through that week and kind of make that spade up a little bit and gave us something to talk.

00:38:23
Speaker 1: By the way, one person is that right writes me and asks me, uh, do we make reservations to watch the game against old missic ks Bar. We will do that, but I'll tell you about how to do it later in the week. I believe this outside of the NCAA tournament, the best environment in this bar is a road football game. But the NCAA tournament's different. But the best environment is a road football game, even at noon. Uh, that's really when it.

00:38:46
Speaker 2: Is the best.

00:38:46
Speaker 6: Who's next, Let's go to Clint.

00:38:48
Speaker 2: Clint, what's up Clint?

00:38:51
Speaker 5: Hey, Matt, I know you sometimes listen to Plain English. They had a recent episode about why the offense was down in the NFL.

00:39:01
Speaker 2: Yeah, would they say the too high safety? It's the two high safety.

00:39:06
Speaker 5: But they also talked about how the defensive linemen just across you know, high school, college and in the NFL, they're just way more athletic. It's a lot harder to get good offensive linemen to combat all of the great defensive linemen because they have to work together, whereas a defensive lineman you can rotate them in it out. They can these different sizes for different plays, big, small, fast.

00:39:30
Speaker 2: Do you agree with that, Max?

00:39:32
Speaker 4: Yeah, but it's always been the case.

00:39:34
Speaker 1: It's like, well, the NFL has changed though, in the sense that the defensive linemen now are not all big hosses. They got a lot of athletic you know, Josh Allen types on the edge, which hasn't always been the case and so and I do think that makes it probably a little harder because the offensive linemen are not necessarily Also, no preseason Yeah, now, sir, you used to play four per season games. I oh, pick six for Michigan. Here, wow, pick six touchdown Michigan. But go ahead, sir, or anything else.

00:40:07
Speaker 5: Yeah, I was just thinking for us, if you're in the transfer portal era and you're swapping in guys from other schools and continuity is so important on the offensive line, it's almost even harder because you can bring in the great defensive linemen and they just have to do their part. They don't necessarily have to be as good.

00:40:23
Speaker 2: That's true. That's a good point. Well, I appreciate col Aaron Murray said that. Tonight. Aaron Murray talked about that. Today.

00:40:29
Speaker 1: Aaron Murray talked about he was talking about Ohio specifically, but he's talking about how the MAC schools they're losing so many players to the SEC and then they have to in Big Ten, and then they have to get guys from from lower divisions, and where he said it hurts them the most is the offensive line for the exact reason that guy just said.

00:40:48
Speaker 4: Absolutely.

00:40:49
Speaker 3: I mean, and and unfortunately for those kinds of schools, it's just gonna be what they have to deal with. Then the coaches they can deal without the best and be able to you know, reinvigorate themselves h year and bring guys in again to be the best teams.

00:41:00
Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, it's just the way it is.

00:41:02
Speaker 3: It's gonna be the same for us too. We're gonna lose some guys at will.

00:41:06
Speaker 1: And I actually think coaching at the MAC level would be the hardest because you're gonna I mean, look, I don't know if you saw the staff like Ohio lost like thirty five guys. Yeah, and you know the lowest one was like fourteen. So not only a losing guys, you're gonna have to go to like D two and get those guys, especially would be guys up front. Yeah.

00:41:30
Speaker 4: So like the.

00:41:31
Speaker 1: GM, you talk about programs that need a GM, those those those MAC schools.

00:41:37
Speaker 2: That's probably the hardest gig of all. Who's up next?

00:41:41
Speaker 6: Elliott from Monticello?

00:41:42
Speaker 2: Elliott, go ahead, Elliott, Hey Matt, how's it going doing good?

00:41:47
Speaker 11: I just very bounced win today? What a game? From Dankey Ron's probably doing a happy dance.

00:41:54
Speaker 1: Yeah, so what game Ran missed? Ran missed? This is the first game he's missed. He had to take his son on a college visit, and he misses dan Kee's best game.

00:42:05
Speaker 2: Wow.

00:42:06
Speaker 11: Wow, I did have a question, what is our punting situation looking out after today? Of course Aman Leroase looked really good on his one punt. Just curious to see if there's a change there in the coming week.

00:42:20
Speaker 1: You gotta think there is, max or they wouldn't have made the change today, right, Yeah.

00:42:24
Speaker 3: I'm interested because they yea, as far as I know, they hadn't said anything in the lead up to the week of they made a change, and I don't think the depth chart would have changed Otherwise we would have heard about it, because I know a lot of people, weirdly are focusing on it. But you think maybe they finally made that change. Maybe they've heard the noise, maybe they've decided, hey, this is the way we're playing and therefore we need field position.

00:42:44
Speaker 1: A couple of updates. LSU leads UCLA twenty four to seventeen. Vandy leads Missouri on the road at halftime on the road thirteen to ten. Louisville, Georgia Tech tied at seventeen late in the third quarter, Georgia Tech trying to pull the upset off against the the Cardinals.

00:43:00
Speaker 2: Who's next, Let's go to Brandon at Brandon, go ahead, Brandon?

00:43:05
Speaker 7: Are you all right with an off the wall question?

00:43:08
Speaker 2: Okay?

00:43:09
Speaker 9: So The Rock.

00:43:10
Speaker 7: Recently said in an interview his go to party trick is he picks up a grape with his butt. Do you all have a party trick?

00:43:17
Speaker 4: I don't believe they said that.

00:43:20
Speaker 9: Yes, in an interview.

00:43:21
Speaker 7: If you watch, he in an interview said at kids party, he does in the movie he's in the voice, but at an adult party he put the towel in front of him and takes off his hands.

00:43:31
Speaker 1: Oh, the Rock, I'm sorry. I thought you said Brock, meaning the quarterback. Yeah, And I was like, I don't think that happens. Uh, yeah, I don't know.

00:43:39
Speaker 4: I don't.

00:43:40
Speaker 1: I appreciate the call. Do you have anything really weird you can do? I can't do it with a headphone on, but I can. Back when I had a lot of hair I had, I could take my hair and and with my like this, you see how my forehead, I could move it up and down, and it made it look like I had a two pay.

00:43:57
Speaker 2: That's really all I got.

00:43:58
Speaker 4: I got nothing, nothing for the air.

00:44:02
Speaker 1: Stew what moore and will take our final break? Who's up there, Josh, Josh? If I'm nine twenty two eighty seven, go ahead, Josh.

00:44:10
Speaker 5: Okay.

00:44:10
Speaker 11: Well, I'll tell you what.

00:44:11
Speaker 10: We were at the game and we had a great, great time. But I gotta give a lot of kudos to the fans that stayed all the way to the end of the game, because my wife and I were there, and I mean the sun was beating down and I looked over and there been there was a woman had to have been, you know, maybe sixty five seventy years old.

00:44:35
Speaker 14: All right, my wife tells me that's not old.

00:44:38
Speaker 10: But all I'm telling you is, hey, well she's knocking on that door.

00:44:44
Speaker 2: But anyway, but the thing is is, I mean.

00:44:47
Speaker 14: There's some hardcore fans.

00:44:49
Speaker 10: That stayed through the game, and you know, I mean we're cheering when you know, when we have the second team, and really they looked just as impressive against so High. I don't know if they were bringing out their second teams as we did, and it really really did great. But you saw some of these older folks. I mean they're in the sun and everything else.

00:45:10
Speaker 4: And this woman just stood up.

00:45:11
Speaker 10: Like shrugged it off, like yeah, I've been in this all the time.

00:45:14
Speaker 3: So absolutely, really absolutely and you saw you would have seen it. North Carolina game playing jmu Uh. They were leaving at halftime. Now I know, jam, you put up fifty three points against them, but they decided to leave a halftime. I think you know it was pouring down with rain this morning. We're playing in Max School. You know, we're one and two on the schedule, haven't won an SEC game yet. Absolutely, thank you to all the fans have turned out. This bar is also very packed as well. I think it's gonna be a great week next week. I think UK football players have been able to turn around in the last few weeks, the whole fan base and the whole round.

00:45:47
Speaker 1: I think it's gonna be gonna be awesome. I'm going to the game. I wasn't necessarily gonna go after the South Carolina game, but I'm going now. And uh, I think I'm the only one of the crew going. I can't even remember how many times that's happened. I nine two eighty seven. We had some open lines, finish it up for as strong. This is the Local Toy Dealers KSR postgame Show. We'll take a break, be right back here on. I was about to say UK Sports Network, but that's not it. Here on KSR, welcome back. It is the Local Toy Dealers KSR postgame Show. We are here at Kasbar. Crazy play right there at Michigan USC USC.

00:46:23
Speaker 2: It looks like fumbles.

00:46:25
Speaker 1: Michigan's defensive lineman picks it up, starts running down the field, and a USC.

00:46:29
Speaker 2: Player comes and takes the ball from it.

00:46:32
Speaker 1: But it looks to me like the original USC quarterback that might have been a might have been an incomplete pass. What will they say here? No, they're just confirming it. They're giving USC the ball. Wow, I thought that was a I thought that was incomplete. But Louisville's taking the lead. Twenty four seventeen tonight here at kas Bar.

00:46:52
Speaker 2: Have all the games. Oklahoma Tennessee is a big one, you think Tennessee.

00:46:55
Speaker 1: A lot of the guys on the game day said they think Oklahoma's got a shot to win.

00:46:59
Speaker 4: Do you think so?

00:47:00
Speaker 3: I told you by this time of the year, Vegas doesn't get many things wrong, and they've given Oklahoma a weird chance and close. So I'm on Oklahoma. I'm not to win, but to cover that spread. I think it's six and a half right now.

00:47:11
Speaker 2: Interesting, Well, i'd be interesting to see. I don't know.

00:47:14
Speaker 1: I think Tennessee blows him out, but maybe I'm wrong If I'm nine two eight, twenty two eighty seven.

00:47:19
Speaker 6: Who's up next, Let's go to Chris and Hopkinsville.

00:47:21
Speaker 2: Chris and Hopkinsville. Go ahead, Hey, question for Max.

00:47:26
Speaker 17: Max, you're a special teams guy. I apologize if y'all have already covered this. I had heard the whole show. Why can't we get a guy back there that can catch a punt? We've been four games, we're four games end of the season, and I don't know if we fielded a punt in the air yet.

00:47:42
Speaker 2: It is absolutely unbelievable.

00:47:44
Speaker 3: Yeah, I tell you from today. Uh with the learned I uh, he's the punting from the other team was near on disgraceful and so like, good luck, good luck catching those when they're going. He's in Australian's on that. I'm happy to say that it was going twenty seven yards of the air and just getting flukey.

00:48:03
Speaker 4: I mean it was it was terrible. I mean, good luck catching those.

00:48:07
Speaker 3: So to me, when when we get into the SEC games and God stopped having you know, good as we say, consistency without punts, good consistency, then we'll start catching something being out to bring something.

00:48:17
Speaker 1: Yeah, I do think I agree with you to the caller about some of the games. But I do think the kicks today were going at absurdly short distance, and I do think that makes it harder for the returner. But I did think in the South Carolina game, Now you said the South Carolina punters really good, they were not fielding enough punts.

00:48:38
Speaker 17: He won't fair catch it.

00:48:39
Speaker 9: I mean, I don't care.

00:48:43
Speaker 2: You're exactly bound fifteen yards.

00:48:46
Speaker 9: That's going to kill us again, you know when you're actually playing a good team.

00:48:49
Speaker 2: Yeah, I appreciate the fifteen yards.

00:48:51
Speaker 1: I wouldn't worry about today because I think part of the reason he let it bounce is those kicks were so bad.

00:48:55
Speaker 4: They were bad bad.

00:48:57
Speaker 1: They were really really bad. Who's up next? Josh and Josh in owington Owen County in the house.

00:49:03
Speaker 4: What's up?

00:49:03
Speaker 2: Josh?

00:49:05
Speaker 9: Hey, Matt, just enjoy the show.

00:49:07
Speaker 11: Uh, thank you.

00:49:08
Speaker 9: I didn't get to watch, didn't get to watch the game today because I was running the Air Force Marathon in Dayton. But I had a funny story to share with you about the crazy news stories this week when you guys were sharing the video of Fred and she finding the body. There, My daughter was in the car and now all she can say is oh my Lanta.

00:49:27
Speaker 1: All the time, Atlanta was the uh you know that tell her that's uh that goes back to that goes back to full house.

00:49:35
Speaker 2: So uh, you know, let's say old times.

00:49:40
Speaker 9: Yeah, she's three years old, and she she's been saying, oh my Lanta ever since she heard that in the car.

00:49:45
Speaker 2: So there you go. Yes, I appreciate it.

00:49:50
Speaker 4: Thank you.

00:49:51
Speaker 2: How did you have the marathon?

00:49:52
Speaker 3: Go?

00:49:52
Speaker 2: By the way, did you finish?

00:49:54
Speaker 9: We finished it. It was super hot. We finished an eighty eight degree, so not the times we wanted, but we did finish. We're good, still alive.

00:50:02
Speaker 2: I got to say hi to somebody.

00:50:03
Speaker 4: Thank you.

00:50:04
Speaker 2: Take the next call. I appreciate the call. Who's up next?

00:50:07
Speaker 6: Let's go to Keaton in Chatanooga.

00:50:13
Speaker 1: Hey, good out, Matt.

00:50:17
Speaker 4: What's going on?

00:50:19
Speaker 8: Uh?

00:50:19
Speaker 1: Yeah?

00:50:20
Speaker 2: So I'm feel great to hear from you.

00:50:22
Speaker 13: Max.

00:50:23
Speaker 11: I just had a question if Matt had any insights of.

00:50:27
Speaker 13: What time the Vandy game would be in a couple of weeks.

00:50:32
Speaker 3: Uh, well, Matt has gone walking around the restaurant yelling at people again like always, he's checking on TVs and you know, barking instructions, trying to get around of a pause like he always does, about to tell people some good news or something.

00:50:43
Speaker 4: So he is not on right now.

00:50:46
Speaker 3: But we do not know. I believe when the Vandy game is. Logan, you don't know when the Vandy game is. There's been no announcement of time, no, no announcement of time, so I have no idea. I would guess it's at night because obviously it coincides with Keen. So normally when we have Canland and we got the home game, we normally get the night time because they don't like to run those things simultaneously. So I mean to guess it's at seven thirty at night. I'll be attending both Caaitland and Vandy. So that's the best information I got for you.

00:51:13
Speaker 11: Hey, that's that's the insight that I call, you know, call in to get.

00:51:17
Speaker 5: So I think you know that better than Max.

00:51:19
Speaker 4: It has no problem at all, no problem at all. We got to anyone else we do.

00:51:23
Speaker 6: Let's go to John in Versailles.

00:51:25
Speaker 4: John, how you Hey, Max?

00:51:28
Speaker 12: I'm doing good.

00:51:29
Speaker 16: Hey, I wanted to check with you on something. I'm a former kicker myself, so I pay a lot of attention to the kicks in the game. And Jack Pilgrim wrote in his post game column that the last player of the first half, when the clock expired, Alex Rayner, banked.

00:51:43
Speaker 9: A fifty one yard or off.

00:51:44
Speaker 2: The goal post.

00:51:45
Speaker 16: But what I thought I saw was the young kicker from Montana with a strong leg, and I thought it was a sixty one yard track that he banked off the goal post.

00:51:54
Speaker 9: Did you happen to pay attention to that?

00:51:56
Speaker 2: I saw?

00:51:56
Speaker 4: It was?

00:51:57
Speaker 2: It was Rainer. It was Rainer he knocked. Was that he noted a sixty yarder?

00:52:02
Speaker 1: It didn't count, but uh, forget for they said he might have fifty five.

00:52:06
Speaker 2: He's got more than that, Max.

00:52:08
Speaker 3: And when you could see when he walked off, he was like, what are we doing? I just kicked the biggest field goal in UK history again in two weeks straight, and so yeah, disappointing for him, but probably good for the team.

00:52:20
Speaker 1: Yeah, I appreciate it. Great, Yeah, best he did he hit it great. I appreciate to Carl Rainer, he's gonna get. All he needs is a game winner and he'll kind of join McGinnis and some of these guys. Is there's the kickers that you know of all time.

00:52:33
Speaker 4: The UK records, the UK record, so he now.

00:52:35
Speaker 1: Holds the record for the longest kick and the most made in a row. That's pretty good if he needs a game winner. If he gets a game winner, he's gonna go and like, uh, he'll be He'll be honest, he'll be.

00:52:47
Speaker 3: A lot of the best. As one coming. We haven't had an attempt a want. There's normally one maybe every two or three years. We haven't had one for a while. So there's one coming, all right?

00:52:55
Speaker 2: Uh, last call? Who's up next?

00:52:56
Speaker 6: Aaron finished strong?

00:53:00
Speaker 1: Please say Matt Jones doing good?

00:53:05
Speaker 2: All right? Talking to the phone, I can't hear you.

00:53:08
Speaker 9: I was at the game of today.

00:53:09
Speaker 14: I bought the techy looked pretty good and I like our games again, please.

00:53:15
Speaker 1: I hope you're right. I like our I like our chance to be in it. We'll see if we're able to win. And we've lost two close games against them in a row. I appreciate the call Max. Thank you very much for coming, thanks for having me, and thanks to all of you. I've been around here today. Uh we a lot of fun. Cats get a cat's get a victory. Everything's going going well for the program and now we go to Oxford for.

00:53:37
Speaker 2: What should be a big weekend.

00:53:39
Speaker 1: Next week game will be at New Thanks to Gus in the studio, all the folks been going since Aton this morning. This has been the local Kentucky Toyota Dealers KSR post game show
