Speaker 1: Welcome to Reality with the King. It's me Carlos Kings, the King of Reality TV and one of the most sought after executive producers in reality television with over ten years a production experience. Twice a week on Reality with the King, we'll sit down with my friends across the entertainment industry, recap our favorite reality shows, and revisit unforgettable moments that we are still talking and tweeting about. Hay, rain drops on today's episode a Reality with the King. Oh honey, we have to get into episode two of this marvelous reboot.

00:00:40
Speaker 2: I love a soft reboot. I like offing soft. Well, anyways, let's get it too.

00:00:49
Speaker 1: Thank god this podcast is rated E or should it be rated R? But I digress. I am here with my beautiful friend inside and out. He is my love, the rain drops love him, he loves the rain drops.

00:01:06
Speaker 2: He is a journalist. Hey, Porscha, give it up or the one the Only? My friend. Dave Cronkheit Akay, Dave Quinn.

00:01:15
Speaker 3: Hello, Carlos, I'm so happy to be here with you as always. Thank you for.

00:01:19
Speaker 1: Having me, Thank you for always saying yes to this mess because you know how much I love you.

00:01:24
Speaker 2: You're so busy.

00:01:24
Speaker 1: You have a lot going on, so I don't take for granted when you agreed to come on this messy ass.

00:01:30
Speaker 3: Podcast anything to talk about Atlanta, because we were talking about Atlanta before anyone knew. I called you literally seconds after I finished watching that pilot and or Pilot premiere.

00:01:43
Speaker 2: It's a new show called the Pilot.

00:01:45
Speaker 3: Pilot and I called you right away and was like, girl, they figured it out, they cracked the code, and I am so proud of everyone at Bravo and a truly original for like making this work. Round of applause like you just y. It is real good TV. It is a return to form. Atlanta is back.

00:02:06
Speaker 2: Atlanta is back.

00:02:08
Speaker 1: And after watching the second episode, and we'll get into the specifics because you know, the Rangers want to hear our POV, I gotta say something that may be unpopular and a little bit scary for people, but I'm pretty sure you may agree, but I'll ask you anyway. Yes, we're only in episode two, so trust me, I'm aware of that. However, what is so fascinating about watching episode two is the fact that I feel like what Atlanta is doing Dave is proving that if a show is on hiatus for a year, and you may lose the majority of the cast, but you bring back a familiar face or two familiar faces with four new women that the show could work. And I think what Atlanta is proving is that that formulas working, and maybe maybe that should be applied to Jersey.

00:03:06
Speaker 3: Yeah. I think it's a good reason why you haven't seen Jersey necessarily start production yet. You know, everybody is anxious for what's happening there. But for me, it's been very clear. The network did a full reboot for New York that didn't go I think as well as they expected it to, and then they tried this half reboot, if you will, And I think what they've been waiting similar to what they did with Miami, almost but that was such a long break, and I think they've been waiting to sort of see how it played out, how the audience is accepting it, to make the decision of what they want to do with Jersey. I've always said they're likely casting two groups of women, won a full reboot and one a half reboot, and trying to figure out how they want to progress forward. So this for me is a good sign that there is a world in which we could have a half reboot and see a jersey with some old faces and some familiar and some new girls and some old girls with new faces.

00:04:05
Speaker 1: I call that Yes, yeah, yes, So I could not agree more so I agree with you. Shout out to everybody involved in this season of Atlanta. We are two empisodes in and I'm loving the show. I really really am. Let's get right into it because the show begins with part two, Samia's party.

00:04:26
Speaker 2: First of all, what are your thoughts on Shamia?

00:04:28
Speaker 3: Uh? Okay? I think what I said to you when I called you is what took so long to make her into a housewife? And has she always been this rich? Because the money is so beautiful to see. And I was one of those people who was like, I don't need Shami to be a housewife. I thought it was like a bad choice. But she is so great. She is such a vibrant communicator and an incredible personality. She just has that charisma. She's her reads are fun, her shade in confessionals are fun. I love her energy. I'm thrilled to have her as sort of the center of our group.

00:05:09
Speaker 1: She is like the center and it's so interesting and she made herself the center of even getting the drama kicked off in this episode because she asked the question of whether or not you know, Drew and Dennis were sleeping with each other, and we saw Porsche take that Alley who because again they're best friends. So it was giving a little bit of Scotty Pippen and Michael Jordan, you know, you know, Michael Jordan being obviously Porsche and Scottie Pippen being Shamiya. So to sort of see like Scottie Pippen give Michael Jordan and the ball to like Leya and slam dunket, you know, shout out to Nike, uh Porscha rent with it and really eviscerated Drew so much, to the point that Drew looked.

00:05:51
Speaker 2: Dazed and confused.

00:05:53
Speaker 1: And no, I'm not talking about my favorite nineties movie.

00:05:56
Speaker 3: She looked as washed out as she did in that photo. She was sitting there. You could almost see her head do a full three sixty turn like she just see I feel like she knew not what to do in that moment at all.

00:06:11
Speaker 1: No, she looks so confused because I'm like, one of the two things were happening to me that moment Dave Drew knew exactly what she was doing when she made Dennis a part of her storyline. Dennis does not have any platinum plaques hanging in the hot Dog kitchen at his restaurant.

00:06:30
Speaker 2: You know what I mean.

00:06:31
Speaker 1: It's not like he produced the latest like Nelly record featuring Ashanti and Akon like get out of Here. So the idea that Duse Door, who's an actress.

00:06:44
Speaker 2: My favorite Juice of Door role will be her playing t bos and the DLC movie for pH one. What is your favorite Juice of Do movie?

00:06:52
Speaker 3: I mean, it's always going to be step Up. It's always going to be her og working step up. This is from a girl's coming from and why I I thought she was so good in that movie. I loved her. She had a hit song in that movie. But you're right, I'm not seeing any plaques from Hot Dog Records. But he is her savior. He has saved her. He's been her angel on earth. When she said that, Borsha was like not with this, like I'm not letting this happen. And I thought it was fascinating when she was like, can I break the fourth wall? And the producer was like, yes, please break that Wall and she went in on this and it really made sense, especially later in the episode where you saw her sit down and talk to Dennis about this idea of like, you're not making money off of me and my platform, Like this is me, I own Real Housewives Atlanta. You film with me, you don't go film with someone else. That's not happening, And she specifically said something along along the lines of like you're not going to let You're not going to die to have a voice against me from someone else, which I think is really interesting, Like these women want these men to come on the show for them and for their check, but they do not want that man saying nothing about them that they have to refute.

00:08:16
Speaker 2: Oh, yes, the thing is this.

00:08:19
Speaker 3: Yeah.

00:08:20
Speaker 1: The reason why I feel like Drew broke the girl code is because, at the end of the day, this isn't some guy Porsia slept with after a night out, you know, at the fucking like peach pit, do you know what I mean?

00:08:32
Speaker 2: Like this, I love all of these nineties represents.

00:08:35
Speaker 1: I know, So in order for me to have any sympathy for Drew, I would have to think she was ignorant to the fact that this man is Portia's baby daddy, you know what I mean? Like it's equivalent to somebody working with Ralph, like all best are off. Even Cynthia said it like Peter Anthony Thomas James like go oil, Like you're not going to not only be working with my ex, you're also dressing alike.

00:09:08
Speaker 2: And I think Drew like, Drew, what the fuck do like?

00:09:13
Speaker 1: And I love Drew and I know you do too, but does call the spade of spade?

00:09:17
Speaker 2: Drew?

00:09:18
Speaker 1: You're not that dumb. You knew what you were doing, so for you to play dumb. When Porsche read you, she looked like, oh my gosh, what happened? You know what the fuck happened? And you know what you did?

00:09:30
Speaker 2: Like girl stop?

00:09:32
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean you were whend she said you were a low down dirty I mean anytime it gets like that, I was into it. Listen. I thought, I think Porscha went a little hard on her, but it was good TV. And uh, I think that Drew is gonna need to sort of find a way forward in this group a bit because she got eviscerated and that's not gonna last. She's not gonna be able to last in this group. But she's getting blown.

00:09:57
Speaker 1: Up like that, No, she got blown And what was so fascinating to me though, is the fact that when you look at Kenya's reaction to it, because Kenya is always like at the epicode to the drama in that moment. And I will love to get your thoughts on Kenya Purs's scene that I thought was so iconic, just the sheer fact that they looked great and they were filming together in a nice scene.

00:10:20
Speaker 2: But Kenya sat there and allowed these ladies to have their moment. She did not interject.

00:10:29
Speaker 1: There are some people who feel like, whereas Kenya the Kenya we love, because old Kenya would have inserted herself.

00:10:37
Speaker 2: But do we like that? And again, we're going to see what happens with.

00:10:40
Speaker 1: Kenya's fate once she has her a salon party. Do you like that Kenya's coming in a little bit safer or do you miss Kenya coming in hot?

00:10:49
Speaker 3: Well? I mean, did Kenya come in hot and it just got edited out? That's what my assumption would be. My assumption would be that Kenya was always gonna be Kenya and nothing held back from being Kenya. But it seems that production, you know, after everything that went down, she got her peach taken away from her, and now she's just sort of there. So I would assume that they wouldn't be looking to put in any moments of Kenya in there that are unnecessary. I mean, it looks good for her, I suppose if we if we like the fact that we want to see her in Portion make up, and she obviously is in this place between the two of them because she is friends with Drew. But I'm sure Kenya had more to say. I cannot imagine that Kenya didn't have anything to say about that moment.

00:11:35
Speaker 1: Yeah, and that seems to be the sort of controversy that's happened on social media, like are they editing Kenya's present out? The beautiful thing about Kenya the camera loves her, Like, you can't deny that woman if they start, whether you love or hate her. When her and Portion met up and they both pulled up in the rolls rooces, and i mean, a listen, those are two beautiful women. And I'm going to be honest here, I felt I still feel sad, and yes it's only episode two. Knowing that Kenya is not going to finish the season, and after watching her a Porsche, I have fun get along, and like there wasn't even anything like a low key shade that they have that they you know, did with each other. It felt like a nice sit down and as much shade and drama that we all love on these shows, we also love.

00:12:28
Speaker 2: The women get along.

00:12:29
Speaker 1: And I would have loved to have seen more of portion Kenya based upon that scene.

00:12:36
Speaker 2: It was my favorite scene in this episode.

00:12:38
Speaker 3: It was mine too, And you know, I'm sad equally with you because I love Kenya Moore. She is She is on my mount rushmore of housewives. I think she's an incredible housewife. It's interesting to me because I feel like she's always been ready to play ball with Porsche. But I feel like Porsche is one of those people very similar to Giselle, who sort of dictates the tone of how things go. Like if Porsia may the decision that I'm gonna be cool with her and everything's fine, then everything's fine, and Kenya sort of plays along with that sense in the same way that Candace would play along with Gizelle. If Gazelle would just have dropped that whole thing, you know what I mean, and sort of been fun with it. But Gizelle made a decision I'm not messing with you, and they never mess with each other, and that was the same thing where it's like for years it felt like Portia was like, I'm not messing with you, Kenya, so I'm not giving you anything and then you're out, you know. In this sense, it felt like she was ready to play along, and I was so happy to see the two of them together. I enjoy them most when they're in that stage. I think that they're way more alike than they are different. And I don't know, I mean, Kenya is somebody knowing what's coming. I'm very interested to see how it all plays out, because right from the get her and brit do not seem like they're on the same page. But it doesn't seem to me like Kenya did anything wrong by asking maybe like what's going on with the ring, because it was just it was confusing for everyone to say that it's my second ring, like she didn't exprint it and explain herself. And Britt seems to feel like she was catching shade from Kenya. I don't think you catch subtle shade from Kenya. I think you catch real shade from Keny, like you know when it's coming your way. I don't think that was Keny being shady. I think that was Kenya just asking a question, Dave.

00:14:21
Speaker 1: I'llgre with Osba saying and listen, I'm always gonna call out Kenya when she's being shady, and listen, Kenya will call herself up when she's being shady because Kenya k know her role period point in the blank.

00:14:31
Speaker 2: I don't think she's being shady either.

00:14:32
Speaker 1: And then to see to see Britt talk to Kelly about it once and I'll say this, I like Brendan Kelly. I think they're great. I think they're great additions. I leve they're seen together. I think this is my opinion. I think Britt has watched this show since day one, season one, episode one, meaning not getting into Charat's broken gates at the party and being ex off the guest list. I think Britt Idio has studied this show and that's I don't think that's an issue.

00:15:03
Speaker 2: I think Britt knew what Kenya is.

00:15:07
Speaker 1: About as a fan of the show, and I think anything that isn't super like complimentary, I think Britt took that ass. Okay, here comes Kenya more being shady she's coming for me. I don't think she was coming for you. And this is no shade to you, Britt, who I actually like. I think Kenya did not even look at you twice. I just think Kenya was just like being in the moment. I think Kenya's focus, because I know Kenya very well. I think Kingya's focus was more so on like what is should me and Port are gonna do?

00:15:43
Speaker 2: Like I think I think to me and.

00:15:46
Speaker 1: Portion and Drew were Kinga's focused, and I think I think Kenya was just being nice to Britt and having a conversation like girls do. And I think Brient, I think Britt saw a moment and may aid a mile top Mohill.

00:16:02
Speaker 3: I completely agree with that, and that's how it feels. And I'm not being in Kenya apologist either, because I too will say when she's wrong. In this case she wasn't. But I also love Britt, I love Kelly, I think Angela. They're all bringing such great personal storyline to the show, which we need so desperately. It feels fresh, you know, Kelly talking about this house of hell that she was living in before her divorce from her husband of eleven years, and how nasty that got I'm fascinated by. I mean, she's opened up more about her divorce than Sutton has and how many years of Beverly Hills, you know, just well, I'm just saying so that you don't talk, you don't need to have your husband be on the show to still open up about the divorce and explain things like it. Really it's working for me with Kelly uh Britt and everything with Michael, Like I'm fascinated about their wedding and and how's married on.

00:16:57
Speaker 2: Zoom on zoom zoom.

00:17:00
Speaker 3: It's incredible. I'd like their their story of sort of wanting to have a baby and IVF and where they're going to live. I'm fascinated by that. Angela being a self made millionaire without the help of Charles, like that for me was fascinating. You just assume, of course, for Charles Oakley's wife, you you're riding on his money. But she's got her whole business going on for herself. There just seems to be a lot happening. And I appreciate that Angela came in not a blind soldier, you know, really making up her perspective on things, not cow tewing to Shamia and you know, being bold enough to have an opinion, and it looks like they go out at it next episode, Shamina Flavor Flav.

00:17:46
Speaker 2: I mean there's like there's ninety nine O's there.

00:17:50
Speaker 3: Stade coming everywhere, and I'm here for that. It feels natural and real. And I agree with what you're saying. You can't come into this era of housewives having not studied where it came from. It would make no sense. No person on the in the world would get a job and not research the company. You know. So I am sure at the point Britt watched Kenya and knew what she was getting into. But it just goes to show like these these stars how you see them on TV, That's not how they are in real life. And Britt is playing a television game and Kenya is used to living in the reality of the moment. I agree she wasn't thinking about Britt at all.

00:18:26
Speaker 1: Now, that's perfectly said, because when Pa and Keny you were sitting down. I love that Kenya was so present. She asked the right questions because did you know this journalist Dave Koonkite I didn't know this. I didn't know that Simon was married four times before Porsche.

00:18:46
Speaker 3: Yeah, this is the fifth marriage, his fifth marriage. I did not know that there's a lot about Simon. I never knew. As much as you might call me Dave Kronkatt, I wasn't doing the research on him. I was giving that you.

00:18:58
Speaker 2: Were at the Department of Ice.

00:19:01
Speaker 3: It wasn't I wasn't calling ice like and sneaking out like Mama Mama Joyce.

00:19:07
Speaker 1: Mama Joyce at Brandackler's office Season nine, The Church Coat.

00:19:13
Speaker 3: Did you know when that moment was filming, how kind of it would be like when you see memes from stuff that you were there to film. How do you feel about that?

00:19:22
Speaker 1: It's funny, Broda da I Dave true story. I was there at the moment. I saw Mama Joyce's get up. I contacted Bravo and said, I'm gonna take a picture of what Mama Joyce is wearing because this is going to be a meme.

00:19:44
Speaker 2: I knew.

00:19:45
Speaker 1: We called her Mary J. Blige in the Not Gonna Cry video.

00:19:51
Speaker 2: It was so honey.

00:19:55
Speaker 1: We called the marl Mama Joyce Blige child. So she pulls.

00:20:02
Speaker 2: You can't. It's so in described about how.

00:20:07
Speaker 1: It's so delicious and fuddy and it's those moments of wild love this genre. So in a perfect world, I would love my Mama Joyce to do an investigation assignment, because clearly somebody has to fucking do it.

00:20:22
Speaker 2: He was married four times before Porsche. She talked about the fact that how he.

00:20:27
Speaker 1: Would get stopped and like customs and have to explain himself. And there were so many red flags. Dave like, I'm sorry.

00:20:39
Speaker 3: Them all in the shape of hearts. She was not looking at none of those slags. She was like, no problem, I don't know. I mean, she is the Jennifer Lopez of Bravo William She loves hard, and she falls for these these men that are just not right for her, and we are rooting for her to fall in love, just like we are rooting for j Loo to fall in love. But man, simon this story, and I know there's so much more to it that we haven't gotten into. I'm curious how much she'll actually talk about. You know. He sued her over a post that she did about a rectile dysfunction without not mentioning his name, not once.

00:21:21
Speaker 2: That is true.

00:21:23
Speaker 3: He told on himself right from the get in the in the pre in the legal system, went and told on himself, So I know this dude is litigious. I don't know how much action you have from when you're being deported. Ken you Susan, I don't know. I need a lawyer on the phone to tell us. But it's I'm very curious about what else there is to this story because and I know Kenya is too. Kenya was the right person to ask those questions.

00:21:48
Speaker 2: Oh, Keny was the person. Because Kenya listens and she asks a question. We are just getting started.

00:22:06
Speaker 1: This is reality with the King, and I'm Carlos King. Let's get back into the show. The other revelation that shocked me was when she said there were camps in the house and she saw other women in the house. Now, she wasn't specific about did you see some dysfunctioning of rectiles?

00:22:28
Speaker 2: Did you see what was believed?

00:22:32
Speaker 3: Who knows? Right? Were they there? Were they there to party? Were they it? Did? I don't think she needed to see nothing but their bodies and say that's it. Other women done. Like she's gonna find a way to be pissed about that.

00:22:43
Speaker 1: But Dave, did it seem like though this is the part that was tricky for me, Did it seem like she saw the women in.

00:22:50
Speaker 2: The house and still stayed with him in the marriage. That was the part that was tricky.

00:22:56
Speaker 3: Yeah, it seemed to me that that was one of the final straws for her and that in the midst when they were on the out, those other women were around. But again there's still she's never really answered to all the accusations about her and fallon that. I still think like people don't understand, and it seems that Simon's behavior is sketchy at best when it comes to these relationships and the way that their romance started.

00:23:24
Speaker 2: No, it's it's so tricky.

00:23:27
Speaker 1: But again, I think the good thing is they're dropping breadcrumbs for us to be able to pick up on certain things, which is good because you don't want to give away everything in episode two, so I think we are on the verge of seeing something great. The scene with Porsche and Dennis, we have to get into that they're on a play day with their daughter and she confronts him.

00:23:51
Speaker 2: About working with Drew.

00:23:53
Speaker 1: Drew did say to Porsia in the beginning of the episode that Dennis was crime, ain't in the studio and he pretty much wants Porsche back based on this scene that was happening between Drew and Porsche.

00:24:10
Speaker 2: I don't see that.

00:24:12
Speaker 1: I mean I didn't There was nothing in that scene that. Yeah, I didn't see anything on Dennis side, between Dennis and Porsche that led me to believe that Dennis wants Porsche back. I think Porscha clocked it. I think Dennis wants camera time. I think he wanted to do something that kept his name out there, and I think his strategy was well, at the end of the day, it helps ow you portion in your storyline, and he's not wrong about that. But I think I just don't think Dennis is in love with Porsche anymore.

00:24:49
Speaker 2: That's what I got from the scene.

00:24:51
Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't feel like there was any pining to get her back in that sense either, But he's probably smart enough to know Porsche and the mood that she was in and when to sort of push that and not. I mean, it seemed like he was playing defense right from the get and just trying to diffuse the situation as much as he could as he could. Rather, I was very curious. I mean, she's acting as if she was blindsided. It does seem that she was told about it in some sense, But I don't know. I mean, it's all very confusing, And I agree he did seem to be interested in camera time, and why wouldn't you be. It's a huge platform, I mean, of course, especially if you want to make your mark as the hot Dog record producer, You're going to be out there doing whatever you could. That Children's album, I did not listen to that. Did you listen to that?

00:25:42
Speaker 2: Honey?

00:25:43
Speaker 3: I did not know that Children's album existed. That was the first I ever saw with that clip art cover. I had never seen that before, not once in my life. So I'm sure this is an opportunity for him to rebrand himself and push himself in that way. But he is not going to be produced seeing Housewife singles left, right and sideways. I can tell you that much.

00:26:03
Speaker 1: Yeah, there's no don't be tardy for the hot Dog single coming out, do you know what I mean?

00:26:09
Speaker 2: I want sausages, not songs, you know what I mean?

00:26:12
Speaker 1: Like I would rather eat something than to hear some of Drew's material, if that's the case. But what was so surprising to me was towards the end of the scene, we did see.

00:26:24
Speaker 2: Porsche have a breakdown.

00:26:26
Speaker 1: She's talking to the producer, Porsche is a fourth wall breaker this season. Like she she She's like, fuck this, you guys came from my house because of Simon.

00:26:37
Speaker 2: I will break something else as I can't break shit in my home.

00:26:40
Speaker 1: Right, So she's breaking the fourth wall with a producer and she's crying about what's going on between her and Dennis. This is what I got from it. Although Porscha didn't I say this, I got this from it. At the end of the day, whether or not you are in love with your child's parent, right in this case, Dennis is Polar's dad. M anytime as a producer I would shoot a scene within a strange couple or divorced couple with their child being there, there is some emotional weight that is happening in the moment because for that couple, you never expected your family to be broken, and by broken on me just not together as a unit, right, I.

00:27:33
Speaker 2: Think Porscha rightfully.

00:27:36
Speaker 1: So as a woman was with her daughter and her daughter's dad and at a playground site, you know what I mean, like just playing with a kid, and I think anybody would be like here, I am arguing with you about this other woman, Drew, You're working with her and we have this beautiful daughter together, and you're we're supposed to be a family or we're not a family. I'm I went through a divorce with a man that I thought I was gonna be with, and I think Porscha just had an emotional breakdown. Not that she wants Dinnis Backlie, I don't think she does, but I think rightfully so, it was the realization that I'm going through a divorce and my family's broken, and I think it was too much but heart at the same time.

00:28:22
Speaker 3: Yeah, and let's not forget I'm returning to the show after a few years of being away from reality TV, and this is all new again in a weird way. Filming. As much as it probably feels second nature to us to see her on the show filming, it probably wasn't second nature after a few years away. I think that she left with Simon thinking I don't got to do this anymore, like I'm going to live my happily ever after, and then you know, the Real Housewives, Real love turned into a real nightmare. And now she's back, right, So I agree with you. I think that it's a revelation of many things. My relationship with my father's daughter is not as good as I want it to be. Maybe this show affecting that my romance with Simon is all done, Like where is she in the midst of all of this. I have to say good for Portsche for giving it all to us. I appreciate that she's not running away from things as she has traditionally in the past, sort of when she doesn't want to confront something, sort of ran away from it. It's nice to see her in it. This is I love.

00:29:26
Speaker 1: Yeah, I loving Portscha is able to just be authentic, and I think she's comfortable based on the fact that she was gone for three seasons and she's back, and I think she's really showing us a woman who's willing to give it all, knowing that, unfortunately for her, right when she's signed on to do this season, she was still married and in a happy place with Simon, So of course she didn't think in a million years that this would be her storyline, because I do think if she wasn't going through divorce, she may have I'm sorry, if she was going through divorce when the producers contacted her to come back, I don't think she would have come back.

00:30:07
Speaker 2: To the show.

00:30:08
Speaker 3: Interesting, that's so fascinating. So you think that when she was locked in and this all blew up, do you think she had second thoughts she tried to.

00:30:15
Speaker 2: Get yes, Oh God, think about it. Think about it.

00:30:18
Speaker 1: When Portia signed on, I will never forget her announcement, she wore a yellow blazer and Dave, you know, I'm a nerd. She wore a yellow and a Porscha stalker. But that's another story. So she wore yellow blazer and she goes, who said that Porsche Williams coming back to the hospitals Atlanta? That's not true, but Porscha Gbadia is And I was like, yes, remember yes. So with that being said, she was happy to be like, I am like this African princess living my best life. And I think and listen, I wanted to see it, like this fabulous life. And we're now seeing this married couple named Shemiah and it's not Gordon, that's me as me Gerald Gerald. Sorry, all black dudes through our ball look alike, my bad and I can say that, okay, So we'll talking about Gerald, like, we get to see Shemiah's African princess life, and I think we all expected that to be Porsche when she's signed on to do the show being married.

00:31:27
Speaker 2: To Simon, right.

00:31:28
Speaker 3: Yeah, and we're not getting that at all from her, you know, especially not being able to film at her own house and how affecting like he's coming after her money that way in a way that like, I don't think most people recognize how damaging that is. You are not even letting me film in the place where I need to film my personal storyline. It becomes much harder when you can't see me at home with my daughter. You can't see me with my mom, you can't see with my sister. You can't see any of that in our in our safe space of what life is like. The viewers not seeing somebody in their house really affects the way they look at those people.

00:32:03
Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it's so true. And I think, listen, I think a lot of that was just a combination of Porcha's tears, because it's a lot to go through on top of filming, on top of everything you're saying, like I signed on to do the show thinking one thing, it's the complete opposite, and now I got Drew so Doorra who is working with my baby daddy, Like it's too fucking much. And I understand what she's coming from, but I gotta ask you this. Shamiah is being accused of being Portia's lap dog.

00:32:36
Speaker 2: By jus So Dora.

00:32:38
Speaker 1: And the beautiful thing about Angela Oakley that I do love. She calls things out as she sees it, despite her alliance with the girls. Yes, like when she heard what Drew was doing with Dennis at the party, she goes, I don't know Drew, that don't sound right right, And then when she confronted Shemi about like, yeah, you kind of were taken up for like portion away that's seen a little bit whatever. But what do you think is should me been a good friend or should me being a lap dog?

00:33:10
Speaker 3: I don't think Shamia is anyone's lap dog. I think that Shamia is here too for the first time. She's got that peach. She knows how important it is. She's not going to just spend it the entire time taken up for someone else. But I agree with what your thoughts are about about Angela, and it's why I like her so much. She reminds me of Bo's and Bronwyn and these like new housewives who've come in and don't really seem to have an alliance to anyone except for in the moment what the truth is. I think Shemiah in this sense knows more about the pain that Porscha is going through, and that's what she's trying to do, and she's trying to not be a lap dog but be a bridge to the frustration that's coming from the other end. But I don't think that watching the trailer and seeing her and Porscha seemingly being INDs at a certain point in this season, it doesn't seem like I'm going to get Samia as as the garcel to Sutton to Portie or Sutton. I'm not getting that. I'm really going to get somebody who has her own perspective on things and has her own things to say.

00:34:15
Speaker 1: Yes, agree, I don't think Shamia is anybody lapped off. I think Shemia is a good friend. I think Shemiah Shamia reminds me a lot of like Dolores, do you know what I mean? Like, yes, yes, like a lot of people. And listen, no one's perfect. But I will say this, I think the thing about Dolores, I think Delores obviously has the most history with Teresa but she does have a fondness with Margaret, and I think I think especially the audience of Jersey Honey, they they Jersey audience, you have to choose, right, Jersey Jersey is the only fucking housewife show where the audience demands you choose one side over the other.

00:35:06
Speaker 2: Dape. It's a demand, right, I hear. I know.

00:35:10
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a crazy demand and they're nuts about it. It is not that way in Atlanta now. I want to be able to love all of these girls and not like all of these girls all the time too. I like the movement of it. I have a question for you with your producer, hat, I'm curious what you know casting these women. You see obviously they're casting tapes. You kind of talk to them a lot. You have an idea of sort of what they're like. How do you think the producers of Atlanta are feeling two episodes into filming as they're seeing these girls actually operate. Do you think they feel good about who they have all?

00:35:44
Speaker 1: One thousand per one thousand percent one it's let me let me tell you something. No production company owner and I'm one of them, right, I know what this feels like. You never want to get a call from a network saying, hey, your show is going to be your show is going to be put on palls until we figured this out.

00:36:09
Speaker 2: For two reasons.

00:36:11
Speaker 1: There's a business reason of well, this show pays the light bill, so I'm fucked right. And then there's number two in the sense of like, could this show be taken away from me? You know, because that can happen, like the networks have the power to say bye bye.

00:36:29
Speaker 2: Right.

00:36:31
Speaker 1: I cannot imagine, Dave Quinn the pressures that the producers were under in terms of getting the casting right, right to have a show be on hiatus for a year, not just some random ass show. We're talking about a show that was maybe for like maybe something seasons or six, I don't know, but consecutively the number one showing Bravo, not just Housewives, the number one showing Bravo, then to be told your show's on palls, then to be shown let me told, you have to get casting right. You don't have Porsche just signed on at this moment. You're you're, you're you're trying to get Porscha back on the show. You're you're you're finding new women and you're trying to figure shit out, You're you're you're deciding whether or not it's okay that you know Shemiah is somebody the audience knows. But does she makes sense if Portia doesn't come back, like think about it, if Portia said no, this is this is how I feel. I'm not sure that Shamia thing would have made sense without Porsche of being on the show.

00:37:32
Speaker 2: It would have been confusing for the audience.

00:37:34
Speaker 1: So I say all of that to say this was tough. I've never seen anything like this in my life. Right, the reboot of New York And this I don't shade people. I think we all know the show isn't that great and that's whatever. So it's a brand new show with a brand new cast, and this is no shade to the cast. You can have great individuals, but when your teacher in fourth grade calls on you to work with four classmates and you guys have the fucked up science project.

00:38:05
Speaker 2: All of you guys are.

00:38:06
Speaker 1: Smart individually, but as a group, you guys don't work. That explains New York City Housewives reboot. It's a bad science project. It's a volcano that got erupted with the red food coloring that we have to buy at.

00:38:19
Speaker 2: The grocery store.

00:38:20
Speaker 1: So when it comes to Atlanta, what is working and this is this is how I know the producers are happy.

00:38:31
Speaker 2: It fits like a glove.

00:38:33
Speaker 3: Yeah, it does really natural. Do you have a favorite so.

00:38:40
Speaker 2: Far, Kelly? It's something. First of all, I love all the girls.

00:38:47
Speaker 1: I like Britt, I like Angela, I love Shamia obviously, but I wond't call her new because I've known her for years. I have never met Kelly in person on the streets, at a hookah bar, at NeiMa Marcus.

00:39:02
Speaker 2: I have never met Kelly.

00:39:03
Speaker 1: Kelly is so interesting to me because she reminds me of the halle Berry character in The Flintstones.

00:39:14
Speaker 3: Like she's what are you talking about?

00:39:22
Speaker 1: Day?

00:39:23
Speaker 2: Do you not remember? In the flint Stone remember you're.

00:39:27
Speaker 3: Talking about but I don't see it.

00:39:30
Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell you about okay.

00:39:32
Speaker 1: So Ray drops halle Berry play a woman named Sharon Stone in The Flintstones. So in the character of Sharon's Stowe in The flints Stones, played by the Academy Award winner at halle Berry, she was very sexy. It kind of spoke with like this overtly like sexual tone, like the way she moved. Kelly speaks as if she's like a sexphone operator. Some I feel like she is very oohs, and it's hark to this crime whatever. Watch the plant styles and pay attention to what.

00:40:06
Speaker 3: You mean now, so I get that. I get what you're saying.

00:40:09
Speaker 2: It's very seductive, you know. It's like, oh my god. So like let's talk about like Shamia and like and Parsia.

00:40:17
Speaker 1: How she It's the way she addresses things on this one is like sexiest fuck.

00:40:22
Speaker 3: But I love Kelly and I love her. I love her daughter, who's a real life Hillary Banks love. I love the spoiled I want bags for my birthday. Let's get it like I was here for it.

00:40:36
Speaker 1: Knows love all things that works, it's all things that works.

00:40:41
Speaker 2: But I love Kelly's my favorite. Do you have a favorite?

00:40:45
Speaker 3: Charles Oakley? Charles Oakley mumbling in the background, throwing shade left and right. I mean, he had some great one liners in this episode. I like that. Angela said the secret for loving a man like Charles is just letting him be who he is, and I'm like, good, I just want to see him. He seems like such a fun character and reminds me of sort of the married to medicine, men who are like involved in their women's lives, but not like as interested in all the drama, just sort of like there and having fun. He's we haven't seen a guy like him in Atlanta history in a long time, and I really like what I'm getting so far. He just is a character. I'm so here for Charles Oakly doing all that cooking too, shots cooking out.

00:41:36
Speaker 2: Of the storm I was shot.

00:41:38
Speaker 1: It was great to open up Angela's like solo scene with not the woman in the kitchen but the man.

00:41:44
Speaker 2: It was. I don't think people caught that light it was.

00:41:47
Speaker 1: It was a row reversal in terms of like the woman coming down the stairs answering the kitchen her husband's cooking, because you kind of see it in the reverse on these shows. But I love that our Uply definitely reminds you rest in peace of like Greg League's Peter Thomas up Like. I could see him with those like legendary husbands on Alana. He definitely reminds me of, what you say, like just a throwback house husband of Alana.

00:42:18
Speaker 3: And again, what made me like him as well was Angela talking in there in her confessional about like there were sometimes like I was like, I can't hear him, he can't hear me. And then I went to therapy and I was like, oh, flaws too, and like it was fascinating to see her at that point say like, listen, we don't have a perfect marriage and I'm not a perfect person, and that is so opposite. I think of how a lot of housewives see themselves. It almost makes me worry for her fate as a reality star, Like I hopefully you don't take too much responsibility about things you do, because we like our girls a little delusional. Yes, but she seems she seems to be a lot of fun. I'm very interested to see more from them and as they explode. And again, I mean, Shamina is great. That's great. And if I were Shamiya, I would be owning that too. I would be like, sometimes I'm Shamina.

00:43:13
Speaker 1: I agree with you, she needs to own way.

00:43:16
Speaker 2: Yes, exactly, exactly. I like Shamina Soma.

00:43:19
Speaker 1: If you're listening, Dave Quinn, and I believe you should own Shamina.

00:43:23
Speaker 2: Okay, Dave, we all agree, this is a great episode. I want enough. You're brave enough to answer this question. I'm going to do it with you now. Okay, because I know that.

00:43:39
Speaker 3: Listen, look, I'm not on the socials anymore. They can't find me.

00:43:43
Speaker 2: I was just trying to say, I know you're on social media, so.

00:43:47
Speaker 3: I'm in. I'm a witness protection program.

00:43:56
Speaker 2: All right, what do you.

00:43:57
Speaker 3: Got from me? Feeling? Who you're gonna ask?

00:44:00
Speaker 1: A full circle moment. It's a full circle moment based on what we talked about the top. So you and I both love Atlanta so far this season two episodes in great soft reboot that it is, we love it.

00:44:13
Speaker 2: Jersey is not filming.

00:44:17
Speaker 1: Based on the success of these two episodes of Atlanta, it starts to make me think about Jersey and who I think should come back to Jersey as two housewives or three that could leave the charge of a soft reboot of Jersey.

00:44:35
Speaker 2: So I'll go first if that makes it easier for you.

00:44:39
Speaker 1: Okay, Based on the success ray drops of Atlanta, I Carlos King would like to pitch my idea a soft Jersey reboot. We have Portia and Kenya come back, and Cynthia Bailly's a friend of and jus So Dora was there this or Fort Sea and I think so again, not a full reboot, but a soft one. With that being said, I want Teresa back, Delores Catanya, I want Melissa Gorga back as a friend of and I would like to see Margaret possibly return, but Margaret. If I was the producer, I would tell Margaret, we're gonna start you off as nothing a housewife or Fred.

00:45:36
Speaker 2: Because we want you could be either or it's up to you.

00:45:40
Speaker 1: I would say Teresa and Delores you to our housewives. I would say Melissa Gorga, you are friend Melissa wild turn it now, but Joe Gorga would pick.

00:45:48
Speaker 2: It up, okay.

00:45:51
Speaker 1: And I would tell Margaret, look, based on how much you give us with your personal story and your interactions, which one will it be? And then I will have three to four new women. So that's Carlos king pitch of a soft three boot.

00:46:07
Speaker 2: Uh Jersey, Oh, I mean that's good.

00:46:11
Speaker 3: Listen, this is hot, right, And I don't think I don't think Jersey has a Shamia like. As much as I love Jen Fessler, I don't think you can bump her up to a housewife to build the whole show around. I don't think that there's that sort of grounding there. But the show has always been Teresa and Melissa the same way Potomac has always been Gazelle and Karen, and the same way I think this season was set out to be, which was really poor sha Kenya, so with Shamiah and the Dolores role. So I love the idea of the three of those. I would argue, Okay, all right, First of all, I agree the Traders winner, Dolores Catana returns no matter what. Okay, the first housewife to win the Traders and played a flawless game. In my perspective, yes, because the game is not all about the right people you vote off. It's about making alliances and being trusted, and she had that in the bag. I do not think that I would bring Marcaret back. I love her dearly, but I think some time away could be helpful for the fans to appreciate her more, because fans seem to be sort of against her for a while, and I think you don't recognize how important she is until she's not around. The same way that I would say it's good to take a break from Tamera for audiences like they need to appreciate what somebody brings to the table. I would like to see Teresa and Melissa back as well. It just I do not see any world in which Teresa and Melissa are going to coexist. It just even with this break, it doesn't seem to have softened the tension between the two of them. So if that is the choice that they both come back, I would I understand what you mean about making one a friend. I would be curious what Teresa would do with her friend role because I would be curious whether that would motivate her, who seems to be the one who's really building the wall and saying I'm not letting this other girl back into my life. Maybe in a friend role, Teresa would feel more inclined to sort of, like I say, like Portia and Giselle, they Teresa sort of dictates the tone. If Teresa drops that wall down, I think we can coexist in a lot more of a positive way. So that's my argument there. I'm just gonna say I love Danielle. I know she's crazy.

00:48:41
Speaker 2: There's two which one.

00:48:43
Speaker 3: Oh sorry, sorry, Danielle Cabral. No disrespect to Danielle style, but I love Danielle Cabral and I do think that Danielle Cabral there's always more there that I'm interested in sort of seeing I actually.

00:48:58
Speaker 2: Agree with you with that. I love her.

00:49:00
Speaker 1: I love her and listen unpopular opinion. Baby, I love jen Aiden. However, I'm also not dumb. I know that's that's never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever happening. But I do agree with you in terms of like, I appreciated Danielle's presence on the show. I she brought a young presence to it that I thought was like fascinating to watch. I'm very fascinated about her her life, So I definitely would.

00:49:30
Speaker 2: Throw daniel Labone if I have a brone to throw.

00:49:35
Speaker 1: She definitely exkews younger and I think there's something there. And I got a chance to meet her Dave a month ago. She's a brunette.

00:49:45
Speaker 3: I know that shocked me. I'm not into it.

00:49:47
Speaker 2: I like her blond, like I want.

00:49:50
Speaker 3: I can only remember you.

00:49:52
Speaker 1: Girlfriend, give me cross throws Britney spears blonde.

00:49:59
Speaker 3: It's just again, it's the accent that really cracks me up. I like that she's a hot heead. I like that she's a reactor. I feel like you need one of those in the mix. I love Rachel Fuda. I really enjoyed Jen Fessler, but again I think that there's room for new voices, and I'd be interested to sort of see Rachel has a new baby, just go be a great mom, and like, I don't want her to have to deal with this nonsense. And again, there's so much anger there I think on all sides about like those rumors and the things that were said, and sometimes it's like I want to try and leave that in the past now until then. I do hope that the casting producers of The Traders other Traders now. I do hope that the Trader casting director brings both Melissa and Joe on next season. I think it would be fascinating to see the two of them playing at the same time, similar to how we saw Larsa and Marcus play together in season two. So I'd love to see them have a shot.

00:51:03
Speaker 1: I mean here, but that actually, yeah, I missed them all on my TV.

00:51:09
Speaker 3: I got to see Teresa obviously in House of Villains, so I just missed Melissa and Joe a little bit and just they cracked me up.

00:51:16
Speaker 2: That's actually okay, listen.

00:51:18
Speaker 1: Carlos King is advocating, along with Dave Quinn, for Melissa and Joe Orga to be on next season of The Traders.

00:51:24
Speaker 2: I think it's a genie's idea.

00:51:26
Speaker 1: I actually I would would definitely tune in for that.

00:51:30
Speaker 3: I want the Trading casting producer to call me because I got plenty of ideas of who else they should bring, including Melissa back from the Real World New Orleans.

00:51:37
Speaker 2: Do you remember her little shirt?

00:51:39
Speaker 3: Melissa Beck is a star. She is the most hilarious confessionals of in the history of the Real World and even in the reboot reunion they did, She's incredible and she needs to be on TV. She just needs to be on TV. And The Traders is perfect for her. She would light those folks up. You need another Phaedra in that role, right like Feature was so good in The Traders because her confessional is really sold it. Yeah, I think Melissa would be a joy to watch. So I'm just I'm casting.

00:52:11
Speaker 1: Well listen here, ladies, just to mcgay's and they if you have heard it from day pont kind himself, please cast everybody that he said, and he actually made me rethink my decision of Jersey. So okay, I will end my saying Teresa, Dolores Danielle, I'm actually.

00:52:29
Speaker 3: I know, I'm right.

00:52:31
Speaker 1: I changed my mind that ass you are really good at this counselor.

00:52:35
Speaker 3: No matter who they bring back, I'm gonna love it and watch it. And I do not believe. I want to make it clear that advocating for one is not turning down or turning away others. I believe all of that. That cast is all filled with stars, and I would love to see them all back on my TV in some capacity. So I think there's a bright future for Jersey. I just want the fans to take a deep breath and to just appreciate them right, just let him go for a little bit. We got plenty of other things to worry about. I don't know what's gonna happen with Potomac without my queen Karen there, Like there's a lot going on. We gotta.

00:53:13
Speaker 2: Yeah your face.

00:53:17
Speaker 1: Do Zel girl, you go girl doeszell girl, We work. You gotta work girl. We gotta make sure she always does she always does. No Gazelle, come on girl, No Karen, get these girls to work, baby, get them to work. Candace could come back, though.

00:53:35
Speaker 3: I don't see it. I love Candace Dillard. I want Candace give me another year away, like I need Candace to to come back, hopefully with Karen, you know, uh, and and be sort of. I don't know. I think Candas is in such a different mental place now that she's in the Hood of Mother as we call it. She always says it's the hood, and I think that I think the audience needs to appreciate her a little bit more. A year away is not enough.

00:54:05
Speaker 2: The Mother is a fucking amazing episode title. I gotta come. I gotta like figure out.

00:54:11
Speaker 1: Which one am I show you you can take that The Hood of the Mother is actually genius.

00:54:16
Speaker 2: Dave, I love you so much. I can talk to you, Aredie long.

00:54:20
Speaker 1: Let the audience know day what you got going on is anything you need to pub my baby, But it's always a pleasure when you're on nothing.

00:54:27
Speaker 3: I'm just I'm out here in these streets, Uh, come on out working all right while you all are gossiping online. I am in the streets of Brooklyn, trying to survive in this economy.

00:54:39
Speaker 2: That's all.

00:54:43
Speaker 3: That's it, Just living my life here in Brooklyn.
